Orkin Pest Control

Lawsuits Bug Orkin

Ron of Clayton NC (01/16/09)
I received a non compete threat letter from an Orkin attorney, on behalf of region manager Phil H stating that since i worked in the pest control industry for Orkin that they would take legal action to keep me from working. While people are trying to keep jobs and buisness are doing their best to stay in buisness big bully Orkin is capitalizing.

I will have to close my buisness and be out of work or travel 1 hour everyday to work or get sued by Orkin which doesn't go after everyone that leaves and works for other firms.

J. of La Jolla CA (01/15/09)
I signed a contract with Orkin Pest Control to spray my 10 unit apartment complex. They were paid through my banks automatic draft. The roach problem got out of control in several apartments. The management company called another pest control company fumigate the apartments. That is when I realized that Orkin had not been inside 8 of the 10 apartments in almost two years.

I called the local office manager, the regional manager and the VP of Client Services. Everyone passed the buck and made excuses. They were not, in the least bit, concerned that I was dissatisfied or that they had done a disservice. Eventually, they began to ignore my calls. I would not recommend Orkin to anyone!

My apartment complex has developed a reputation for roach infestation. After paying Orkin for two years, tenants moved out and I have been ignored by Orkin.

Amir of Fremont, CA January 14, 2009

Amir of Fremont CA (01/14/09)
I paid for a three year service in the amount 3100 for termite. In case termite is discovered in my home the company was suppose to fumigate or treat my home for termite. Orkin personnel came to my home a few times perform an inspection. I have provided them with the evidence that termite exists in my home and they agreed.Orkin has been giving me the run around and are not ready to treat my home for termite as they toagreed on the contract. I am very frustrated with their service and I would like my money back if there is not going to be any treatment.

Ken of Orlando, FL December 16, 2008

Ken of Orlando FL (12/16/08)
My ex-wife signed us up for 1 year of pest control services for the 2 homes we own together. Apparently she used my credit card and I signed. I say apparently as I was under the influence of very heavy narcotics due to back and neck trauma as well as cirrhosis of the liver. I was not aware of my actions. Although I had no problem with the service or the technician. Unbeknownest to me, after the year was up the tech continued to service my home without informing me of the situation. I have been disabled since January 2006 living off disability insurance and my childrens benevolence. I have told Orkin of this situation and they are now threatening me with collection procedures. It is a relatively small amount of 65.00, but when your broke that might as well be 6500.00.

this is more of a warning then a complaint. when being given a estimate on services, wheather it be for pest control or termite make sure you do your home work and walk around with the inspector so you can see that he is doing a real inspection and not just looking to take your money. the prices they give you is negotionable they have a set rip you off price that the managers have given them. becareful with orkin because the sales people and the staff really dont care much for you, just your bennys and andrews. the other more economical companys are good they just need to use the better chemical, orkin charges you that extra hundred dollars or so and all it really takes with the other companys is just a cincere compliment and mabey some lunch, termidor does take care of your common pests, roaches, ants, centipedes, spiders, fleas, bedbugs and some others. stay away from orkin
