Washington Mutual Mortgage Refinancing

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I have been trying for a year now to modify my mortgage with WaMu talking to various individuals there that have been extremely rude. Insulting me and handling the matter at hand very unprofessionally; hanging up on my, raising their voices, etc.

Today I called once again to resolve the issue and talked to Dan and he was exteremly rude throughout the whole conversation. Wouldnt let me talk and blatantly insulted me and the situation I am in. I am beyond frustrated that WaMu is able to treat their customers this way. I asked to talk to a manager and was refused. I just wish that something can be done to address this since WaMu obviously allows their employees to treat their customers this way.

In mid-January 2009, we applied to refinance with our current mortgage holder, WAMU. It is now August 17, and we have yet to close. We have excellent credit (800+) and the house appraised for well over the loan amount. We have been trying to contact someone on the status, but have gone through several processors and then been told we are close for months now.

Our current processor is Jordan E. He was initially very responsive, but we have not received any response to numerous e-mails for several weeks. Jennifer W was our previous processor, and she never replied to any phone call or e-mail over several months. We are concerned we may have lost the opportunity for the 4.5% rate due to their delays. There were no problems in any way with our loan and we responded to any requests for info. within 24 hours.

Do we have any recourse?

Thank you.

I was solicited by Wamu/Chase by mail offering me to bundle my two loans, cash out, and all my bills paid. This offer was too good to be true and that should have been my initial tip off. After spending $1500 non refundable fee and discussing my credit history, including two late payments due to the bank holding a deposit for an additional 9 days which caused automatic payments to fail, I was told that if my house appraised for $700,000.00, that my refinance would be approved at 4.5%.

The house appraised for $700,000.00 6 months later, and on July 20th I was declined for reasons discussed at my initial meeting before I wrote the nonrefundable check. The bank literally threw my agent under the bus, stating she should have never approved it. I don't know if she is incompetent, the bank is fraudulent, or if this is just the luck of the draw.

I filed for borrower's assistance program from the WaMu website from the first week of May 2009 to avail Barrack Obama's plan to help me to modify my loan due to hardships. I have not missed any mortgage payment yet, but we are having financial difficulties. So I decided to file for help. I completed the form and sent all the required documents on the checklist. I was just told after several follow-ups that my case has not been reviewed yet and that it takes time for them to assign it.

While waiting to hear from them, I received a letter from WaMu dated May 27, 2009 that they need additional information to process my request. So I promptly sent all the additional documentations on the checklist. On July 14, I followed up my case; and I was told to call back on July 17, 2009, since there was still nobody assigned on my case yet. On that day, July 17, 2009, I spoke to the staff of WaMu and was instructed to go to a website to complete an application. When I asked her if they received the additional documents they requested on the May 27 letter, she said yes and enumerated to me the said documents. Also, I asked if she was assigned to process my case, she said no at the time. So we ended up the conversation, and I went to check the website I was told about.

I was so frustrated when I found out that the application is about the same as the one I sent on May 2009 with the same documents needed. To my dismay, I called back WaMu to clarify about that. I spoke to different staff this time and was told to fill up and complete everything as a new application. I strongly commented if they were trying to do a runaround on me. I asked about what happened to the 1-inch thick of documents I sent. She then told me that the application they want me to complete was a new one that came out on May 2009. Also, she stated on a threatening sound that "Sir, do you want to do it or not?" and that if I want my case to be processed, I have to complete it or they would not look into my case.

I was so upset that I requested to speak to a supervisor. She hold me for about 10 minutes, then I was told that the supervisor was out to lunch (The time was 0230 pm, Pacific time.). I said to her also that I got a letter from WaMu dated May 27, 2009 and that it did not said anything to complete a new form but only to send some missing documents, which they already received. Then she said that nothing could be done till I send the new application with documentations. I felt that even if I sent a new set of application and documents, what is the guarantee that they will process it in time and will not ask for updated documents by the time they look on my case. This is really a waste of time. Now, I'm thinking to see a lawyer to do my modification for me.

My father bought our home 44 years ago and left it to me when he passed. This is my first time owning a home. When I first found out my home went into foreclosure, I called my lender WaMu. They gave me a number to a modification agency in New York. So I called them and paid $4000.00. Then I found out they never helped me. I called for my refund and couldn't get anyone to answer my calls. I did everything in my power to get WaMu on the phone for help with modification, but all I got was the runaround. Anyone can see I would do whatever it took to save my home of 44 years. WaMu sold my home at a trustee sale. In fact, they bought it back. All I want is to keep my home with a low payment. My payment now is over $2000.00. What can I do?

I hope Washington Mutual and Chase Bank, which I understand took over WM, are not receiving any help from the government for supposedly helping people who have negative amortizing loans with them about to go into default. I spent a great deal of time to send in any and all information requested on behalf of my son to try and help him get a modification of his loan as the fair market value of the place is less than the loan he took out that has gone up by nearly $25,000!

I even sent comps and all kinds of information to help and all we got back was a form letter saying we did not provide adequate information?! No one knows what they are doing over there and they have no interest, whatsoever, in helping people. I think Chase has used the government money to buy out smaller banks to become even bigger and have more control of the market. This is very scary. Also the White House is no help at all and I don't think those people have a clue about how to help people, really sad. My son will probably lose his home as there have been 7 foreclosures in his complex.

We applied for a loan modification in March 2009. We received a letter dated April 9 which said that they needed more information. We faxed that info to them on April14. I have the transmission log.

On May 12, we received a letter which said that they were cancelling our request because of incomplete application. I called and spoke to Casey. He verified that they had received the info and would email the manager to reopen. When we had not heard anything, I called on June 14 and spoke to D. **. She said that they had not received the missing info in a timely manner and had shredded the application. I faxed that to them the day after I got the letter requesting it. What do they consider "timely"?

For a month, I thought that our request was being processed. Now, we have to start over, losing over a month of time. This is very stressful, especially since my husband has had both a stroke and heart attack in the past two years and needs to keep calm.

We started a refinancing in March 2009 and paid a supposedly refundable at closing $750 fee. As of today, June 10, 2009, we have not closed on the refinancing and no one has returned a single phone call from us to tell us what is happening. I have called and left many many messages. The last time we spoke with anyone was May 3, 2009. At which time, we were told our rate would be kept at no cost to us since WAMU forgot to include credit line when initiating the refi in April but we were told the refi would have to be done all over again and we would be at the bottom of the pile again though no fault of ours. Our credit is excellent (800 scores) and we have been a WAMU mortgage holder for years with no problems. We have not been able to enjoy the lower monthly payments for these last few months and it looks like we are out $750 for four months at least as well. What can we do?

I started a mortgage refinance with our current lender, WaMu/Chase, back late February/March-2009. We are on our 4th loan processor. Every time the loan file is handed off, the file is incomplete and I need to provide the documentation even though this documentation has been repeatedly sent in the past to the last processor (and the processor before that, etc). Rate lock has expired and I have been unable to find a human at WaMu/Chase to talk to. Every contact number I have for them goes to a full voicemail box and disconnects me.

Our current mortgage rate is good - 5.875 and we are 6.5 years into our 30-year loan. Our credit scores are good, around 800 and our house was appraised at $405K and our loan is only $215K. I am trying to take advantage of historically low rates, save myself a few hundred a month to help make our daycare payments for three children, now I'm out $850, plus months of frustration. Out of pocket costs - $750 refinance application fee, $100 home equity subordination fee. Mortgage refinance was promised to close in early April, so I have also lost about $225 worth of monthly mortgage savings ($675 total).

I started a refinance with WaMu in Feb 09, I was given 3 loan processors from Feb -May and still no completion. I wanted simply to get a lower rate on my home loan. I have been with this bank for over 20+ years. My credit is above 750 and loan to value was very good. I was unable to get a human on the phone, had to supply the same information numerous times and still no conclusion to this.

Every person I dealt with was simpathetic yet no one could expedite the loan nor give me a date as to when we would be finished. I was told I was approved and the loan was going to underwritting, then the next thing I know I have been sent again to a new processor and had to start over. They went beyond the commitment date and told me they would extend the agreement and yet tehy still could not give me a difinitive date of closing.

I lost the current lower rate, my blood pressure is through the roof and now I have to start over and will probably have to fight to be reimbursed my loan application money. Not to mention that the home values are still plummeting and I will probably appraise lower now on my home.

In February, 2009, i started the application to refinance my home mortgage with my current mortgagee, Washington Mutual, now known as Washington Mutual/JP Morgan Chase.

This company has manipulated the process, used delay tactics and deceitful misleading information to me during the THREE MONTH process. There have been weeks, where I called daily for their responses, finally finding someone new to answer my questions who then told me that my file was handed off. I received an application approval letter, three days before its expiration, with no contact information, fax number or telephone number included for followup.

I was promised repeatedly by everyone i contacted that it would be completed in a few weeks.

Three months have gone by and today, WaMu informed me that the application has expired and they will not honor it, even though all the delays were clearly their fault, and they have no evidence at all that any delays were my responsibility (since they were not).

MaMu has used deceitful business practices. They have misrepresented the truth. They have intentionally lied to me. They have intentionally delayed the process to keep me in a high cost loan (6.5%).

I also have been going through the loss mitigation department since November. The told me it was worked out in December and let me know that making a payment in January would mess up the process. Now it is April and I am 4 months behind. I have good news though. I just recieved my doc's and I am happy with my new payment. I have some questions about my escrow but I can not get ahold of anyone with information. They now want me to sign and send it away but I just wish I could get some answers. This has been a very scary process and I have some tips.

Every time I call, and I call at least once a week, I write down the name of the person who helped me. The questions they ask. The information they give, ect. Then the next time I call and joe tells me something new I let him know that last week sally told me this. It seems to make them nervous and anytime I did that I got a serious reply. Also, twice I went to my local bank and had them call and write me a letter stating what happened. Hopefully I am in the last step and all will be ok. I love my home and just called to see what they could do to help and suddenly my credit is destroyed (not if i sign) and I owe tons of money (not if I sign). I'm kind of backed up against a wall. By the way my controbution amount is only 600. I saw some guy that need 3000.

Four months behind. Bad credit and a high amount of stress

My husband (At the Time) and I purchased a house for our Daughter and when we were divorced they contacted WAMU to refinance the house out of my name into theirs and to get lower interest rate. at the time they were advised NOT to make a payment, that was October 2008. they heard nothing till late November. then they had to call them and were told paper work in process NOT to make payment. it would mess things up again.

Hearing nothing from them till Janunary and not from them BUT an attorney saying the property was in foreclosure. Things have just gotten worse from there contacted WAMU and she said she would take care of thing AGAIN NOT to make a payment. Again in March from same Attorney FORECLOSURE again this time in July. MY Credit is ruined because of this I Don't KNOW What to Do! The house is vacant and has been since 1st notice of foreclosure. Now some realtor has sign up. Help

This has ruined my credit

I bought the property on January,2008. I used to pay for the property regularly from the time I bought it, sometimes I paid in advance. However d/t economic situation in USA, I lost my highly paid job on April,2008, and as a result of the stress my health was deteriorated and my primary care physician put me on a state disability program . After these dramatic changes in my life and inability to pay this monthly amount of money for my property, my loan officer placed the claim on June,2008 for refinancing to the Washington Mutual and faxed all required documents to be placed on a special program to reduce my monthly payments.( I have all proofs of faxes my loan officer faxed to the WaMu.) Usually time for review cases similar to mine is 90 days.

Twice a month he called and asked about my file situation, and I continued to pay accurate for my property. My loan officer informed me after phone conversations with the Bank, that everything is under control of Wa Mu, but I need to wait until the decision will be made. I was waiting with hope, and expected to receive the decision on September,2008. But nothing was happened.

On October, 2008 my loan officer called to the bank and talked to the supervisor Sharon, she explained that Wa Mu doesnt have the file under my name. Loan officer faxed the proof that he faxed all required paperwork before. Sharon excused before him for loosing my documents during the period WaMu was under Chase Morgan control, and promised to put urgent on my new file under Loss Mitigation Program, and the decision will be made during 2 weeks.

My new file was placed on January13, 2009 and for review my request. I call every week to find out about the decision regarding my situation. On 02/08/09 I received the letter that my file is denied d/t missing: additional pay stub, additional bank statement, 2007 tax return. On 02/11/09 I faxed third time ( I have all proofs of faxes previously faxed to Wa Mu) pay stubbs, current bank statement and 2007 tax return and on 02/13/09 I left a message to the loan workout specialist re: my situation, but nobody called me back. There is no progress in my request for loan workout 9 months, since June,2008.

I called to the WaMu on 03/02/09 to find out is my request to be processed. I talked to Melissa on 7:00AM and she explained that loan workout specialist doesn't have second page of my bank monthly statement for February,2009. I dont understand why, because I sent all pages, however faxed again and sent by certified mail to the bank statements for January,2009 and February,2009 (both pages). If I didnt call to the bank on 03/02/09 , nobody noticed me about missing pages. I gave before my e-mail address, my cellular phone number, my home address. This is the possibility to be in touch and finally completed my request for a loan workout ( loan workout specialist were working with my file from January13,2009 : it will be almost 2 months. It seems that my case is irresolvable?. Many times I wrote the letters to the loss mitigation department and many times sent required documentation, but decision is still pending.

Nobody paid attention to my request for making a final decision.

I applied for a streamline refinance. They approved it sent me a promisary print out. I have never been late on my mortgage and have owned my house for about 18 years. they told me it would not cost anything. i didnt want any money just a lower rate to help me make the payments (my husband was laid off) they said they had to appraise the house and they would pay for it. So they did that. 2 weeks later I got a turn down for not having any equity. I knew that, no body does! i just wanted help. I then told them did they just want the house then, they said well youve been turned down for a streamline good luck to you.

Well, here we are trying to get another job....i cant believe it. You would think after keeping your credit crystal clear they would consider helping since we have had no problems in the past. we just need to lower the payment. were not asking for anything else! Crazy!

In March of 2008, Ms. M contacted me by phone and asked if a loan modification would help. At the time, I had an adjustible rate mortgage with a payment of $1114.20 a month. It is important to note, the rate had not adjusted. She stated, while the loan is being modified, you do not have to worry about making payments, I accepted. A few weeks later, the Loan Modification papers arriced. I was instructed to sign and send a money order in the amount of $95.00.

When the paper were returned, they showed a payment of $707.09 as of May 1, 2008. Apparently, the time it took to modify the loan, WAMU took upon themselves to report my payments as being late. I have lived in my home for 23 years. I have mortgage it several times. I have never been late or missed a payment since I have owned a home. I am sick and tired of these agencies being allowed to take pen and ink to paper and ruin the lives of families. The incorrect information which appears on my credit report is preventing me from getting rid of this ill-fated loan. The agency that initially set this loan uup, the State of Michigan shut them down. I am now sueing and according to my attorney, whoever purchased the loan will be responsible for compensation. However, until then,WAMU should be taken to task for the families they have caused an hardship.

I applied for a VA Loan and I was ask to have Ms. M to write a statement concerning her comments about the mortgage not needing to be paid durnign the modification process. I contacted WAMU to address the issue, however, Ms. M is no longer employed there. I am a 65 year-old widow. I am not able to go through these stressful situations. I have documents to prove all allegations.

In 05 I did a refi with WAMU. They cut and paste the legal description of my other property to my new loan. I've been trying to have it resolved since 6/17/08. Lots of on-hold, transfers, points of contact...Heather, Wes, Sherry, Noe, Loren, Anne.....

The other property is now in forclosure because the sale could not proceed with WAMU having this BOGUS lein.

I had re-fianced last year on my virginia property. Later that year we got a letter in the mail telling us WAMU is our new lender. Then the nightmare began. My husand military and we had orders to a new state. We tried to sale our home but the value was less than our loan amount. Thanks to the economy that allowed people home to appraise more that it should. We rented our home and our tented came on hard times so we contact WAMA.

No one was helpful at all. We had purchased another home in another state. They harrassed us daily with phone calls and even had a women to come to our home with papers that wasn't dress profession nor did she have any information like a business number, contact information on her letter. This was a red flag. We paid what we could but we had another mortgage and we didn't want our renters to be homeless.

To make a long story short they started Fore Closure on the Virginia property on the home July 8, 2008. We request a copy of our promissary note and it had the previous lender. We requested a agreement with WAMU and US. We sent certified mail and even the green card signture card. We even gotten a letter stating we were trying to commit fruad. We couldn't believe this. We sent the law firm that was handling our fore closure that letter we sent to WAMU.

To make a long story short our renter went to the outside court sale and our house wasn't auction when they said. Two weeks later our renters got a note on the door telling them they had to move. I told them don't since WAMU didn't give us proof they even owned the note. I found a article on them from BLOOMBURG that WAMU had gotten property from other banks and then once a customers gets two payments behind they go into foreclosure.

I have disputed the information on my credit report. Our renters are still in our house in Virginia since we haven't gotten anything from WAMU about or the Law Office telling us the home was sold and we sent the so called new owners a letter asking for proof they purchased the home and we gotten nothing. Please do research on WAMU and look into the Article written by BLOOMBERG. WAMU had foreclosed oun properties that they din't even have ownership off!!!

In April 2007 we refinanced our home and ended up with Washinton Mutual as our lender. When our 1st payment came due in June, they increased the payment stating taxes and insurance were not included (although all of our paperwork indicates it was), then they increased the payment again stating our escrow was short. This put us at almost 100% of our income being used for our mortgage payment. We had them do a review of the loan and of course they insisted they were right and we were wrong.

We consistently struggled to make our payments hoping and upcoming job promotion would make life a little easier. In October I was laid off by my company causing a huge impact to our finances. I immediately contacted Washington Mutual to advise of the situation and was informed that since my husband is primary on the loan, I could not seek any assistance from the company unless he lost his job.

By December 2007 we exhausted all possible financial means and were not able to make the payment. The only offer of assistance Washington Mutual would make was for us to pay the past due amount in full or make a payment and a half each month. My repeated pleas that if I could afford a payment and a half I would have never fallen behind fell on many a deaf ear.

In February 2008 we started the process to do a loan modification. In April 2008 it was still unassigned and we were getting multiple letters from their attorney regarding foreclosure and a date of auction. I had to get an attorney to send them a letter to get the auction postponed until they completed their work on the modification request.

In April 2008 I was finally able to obtain a full time job and reported my new income to Washington Mutual immediately. Then came the letter stating we were denied for the modification due to insufficient income. As it turns out, they did not include my new salary and I had to start the modification request process all over again! When they finally came back, we had a payment that was even higher regardless of the fact that I am now making significantly less per year (about 20-25k).

They did however do us a huge favor by dropping our interest rate from 10% to a whopping 9.8%...in their exact words we cut you a huge deal on your interest rate. Upon talking to them and our attorney, the only option was to sign or lose the house...so we made the decision to sign. Unfortunately all attempts to work with Washington Mutual since have been a complete waste of time. They clearly stated they will not do another modification, they will not offer any other assistance and they have no intention of utilizing the new bill passed by President Bush even though we are extremely top heavy on our loan. Now, Washington Mutual has put us in the position where our only option is to declare bankruptcy and lose everything we worked so very hard for. What a nightmare!

This is the first time i have done anything like this, but I am at the end of my rope. My complaint is about Washington Mutual who holds our home loan. We have been in our house for 9 years now, and when we first moved in we were fine, had good credit and lived comfortably. We refinanced in order to do some home improvement and we were taken advantage of. Our payment went up $250, and we were told it would go down. So we refinanced again, and the company WAMU. We got into an ARM loan, and now we are paying. We tried to work with WAMU, but they refused because we had gotten behind on payments. about a month behind. We had to resort to living off of credit cards to get by, before we knew it we were deep in debt. Again we tried to work with WAMU and they were completely non-understanding and rude. We tired all we could to catch up and never could. Eventually we had to file bankruptcy. We were told by our lawyer that WAMU would let us re-affirm if we wanted to and we could keep them out of the bankruptcy. So we did that, and NOT once did WAMU contact our lawyer about anything. After our bankruptcy was finalized we tried to contact WAMU, and again and again they have treated us like dead beats. We aren't asking that they take away our payments. We asked for some help to pay the late fees owed and catch up the one month we are behind. The girl in the loss and litigation dept.tells us that they would negotiate our late fees, and then the next guy says NOPE. They have even told us we should be able to make the payments because we should have more money now since we filed bankruptcy. We have caught them in flat out lies on the phone. Now they almost laughingly scold us on the phone when we call, and they tell us that they may not help us at all. It's disgusting how we are treated. We work hard for what little we have and are trying to stay out of foreclosure, but they are making it impossible.

We have had to file bankruptcy and now although only one month behind are facing threats of forecolosure. We send in our payment on time well ahead of the due date and they still post it late, even when we paid by phone. They said this is becasue we are a month behind, and we are lucky to have our house. We tried to pay by phone again recently and they refused..so we mailed it and they accepted it...late.

Our Family is in the process of refinancing our Home Mortgage. Washington Mutual has given our broker incorrect information and documented that in the past, we had a foreclosure. We called Washington Mutual and it took us 3 days to get a return call even with us contacting them on a daily basis. The person we talked to with a conference call with our Broker told us that they are in the process of sending us a correction letter. This was 2 month ago. When we finally received one, it was not the document our broker specifically asks for.

We still have not received a letter for us to close on a deadline date. Our Broker also has indicated that they have been calling them 2 to 3 times a day and all they get is the same answer. We are still waiting for the document that we need to be able to close the loan. I called today and the WM Rep pretty much read the documentation on the computer screen and told us to contact someone else. We have been transferred many times with a minimum of 20 to 45 minute wait. Still no documentation. I have never dealt with a Company with the worse customer service as Washington Mutual.

Back in March we started to refinance our home. Nathan the loan agent dragged his feet to do everything. I was calling every week to get things going and he never got back to me. Not until I started threatening to go with another company did Nathan bother to get back to me and get things going. This was now mid May. We continued the process, he said he had to charge me over one point in a half for a 30 yr. fixed rate. I told him the point fee was too high because out interest was not low; however, we wanted to get this going and we took the point fee. I then received the complete package in the mail for my husband and I to sign.

As I reviewed it, I noticed corrections needed to be made. I again called Nathan and as usual he did not call me back. I then decided to call Nathan's supervisor Erik Hester. I told him Nathan was not getting back to me to make these corrections etc. He said he would talk to Nathan and call me back. He never called me back either. I then called Nathan and Erik one last time. The customer service lady told me Erik would be in at 2 pm and she would give him the message to call me. I called ant 4 pm and he was gone. I then asked for Erik's managers name and phone so I can call him to inform him of what had happened. After I was given that information, I got a phone call from Nathan indicating to me that Washington Mutual could not offer me a 30 yr fixed rate, I had to take an adjustable.

I didn't know what he was talking about because my initial call was not about the interest rate, it was about corrections needed on the final documents waiting to be signed. I then told him that I would not take an adjustable rate, and that I was still going to file a complaint againt him and the service I got. I have now contacted the main manager in Chicago and I will consult an attorney to see if I have any other options.

My consequences will be that I have not been able to refinance on time before my current loan expires and our home payment will be based on the current adjustable rate. I, may lose my house it I can't make these payments!

I refinanced a 20 yr old mortgage to lower the interest rate and the lender made an error and escrowed my hazard insurance. I have never escrowed the insurance the whole time I have had the loan. After notifying them of the error they removed the escrow, but unforunately for me assigned servicing of my account to Washington Mutual who then put it back on.

I have written, called, sent copies of my statements from the original lender all to no avail. I pointed out the original terms of a mortgage are to be honored when it is re-assigned and now they have cleverly gotten around that by sending a waiver that will only be honored if I had no late payments with them in 12 months. I have never had a late payment in 20 years, but this was a new loan and I've only made two payments with Washington Mutual and 3 with the original lender.

They want 12 mos, of history with them. Second, that my balance be 80% of the original loan, once again , it is a new loan. I am single handicapped person and it is very hard for me to come up with the extra funds monthly, but because I do craft shows in the fall, I can pay my insurance then very easily when it was always due. I feel they are making a fool out of me, as they keep asking me to send letters, fill out forms and then keep denying me.

I recently wanted to refinace my home from an interest only to a 30 year fixed without taking any cash out, I have been informed that I have been denied due to my credit report, which states that I have had a mortgage within one year, and I was a previous customer with Washington Mutual, so I don't understand, however, I have provided them with the name of my mortgage company, and still no phone calls.

Nothing was ever done, Washington Mutual did not even ask me for my past two pay stubs or my W2, the service was provided to me was unacceptable, what I do know is that Washington Mutual should have contacted my current mortgage company or ask me to provide the information to them which they did not do, also I still have not received a copy of my appraisal report which I paid money for, I have asked questions, and no one wants to answer.

I had a loan with Washington Mutual (loan 1). I also had a home equity loan (loan 2)with Washington Mutual. To take advantage of the low interest rates, I refiananced with Washington Mutual. I consolidated both loans. Loan 2 had a penalty for early termination (before 3 years of having the loan). The bank reps told me that since I was in Georgia that this clause was not legal, so, I consolidated both and ending loan 2, seven months earlier than the 3 years. I was penalized $500.00. I have sent letters to them stating that I was given incorrect information causing my actions. I have been ignored.
