Regions Bank

Donna of Cottontown TN (02/02/08)
I made my deposit on 1-30-08 at 3:15 pm and it was held in pending until 2-1-08 while 3 checks went through on 1-31-08 and were sent back for insufficent funds. I was charged 99 for returned checks plus 66 for overdraft fees.

This caused my house not to be over 30 days late and has dropped my credit score and damaged my creditably with my mortage company.

I went today to cash a personal check written on Regions Bank to me and was charged a 5.00 check cashing fee. When I complained about the fee, they told me they were doing me a service, but when in fact they are taking me for a ride. How is it legal for this bank to charge 5.00 to cash their own check?

I feel like I had 5.00 stolen from me, and 1000's if not millions of other people I'm sure have been taken by this bank also.

I went to Region Bank in Butler, Al to make a withdrawal from my checking account it did not have no balance, the teller told me to talk to Jennifer Coleman, I asked Ms. Coleman why my deposit was not showing on my checking acc., this was Region Bank mistake and Region had to send letters for checks I wrote and I still had to pay ovedraft and NSF fee's for their mistake. Now I went to Region Bank and talked to Ms. Kathie Hubert angain she didn't give me a good understanding why their was checks being held back and why I had so many difference amount of NSF fee's. I requested a copy of the checks that was paid out of this account. I did not get copies of the checks this day only gave me a copy of the overdyaft fee's. I went back to Region and talked to Kathie Hubert again and she had an attitude and I was charged for the copies and page 1 was missing .

I received a monetary Christmas gift of 5,000 from my parents. I took it to the bank and they told me that there would be a two week hold placed on the funds because I did not have that much money to cover the check. Ultimately I was charged 400 for overdrafts to my account that would not have happened if my deposit would have been available. I decided to ask my parents to wire the money instead because I couldn't afford the two weeks without our gift. My parents wired the money the next day. I asked to have the charges reversed, but to no avail. To make matters worse, I was belittled in the process. I was even charged a fee to have money wired into my account. There is alot of he said, she said going back and forth, but the outcome was that I did have the money to cover my debits, but I was not allowed access to it.

The bottom line is that I was charged 420 to receive a gift of 5,000. All I want is for the bank to reverse the charges.
