Roland of Luzern, OTHER November 21, 2008

I mailed recently a complaint that AIG Annuities did not pay an amount of just over 133000, resp. this amount was not credited to the account of the annuity holder. It now turns out that AIG did not make a direct deposit to the owner's account, but instead sent a check to the nursing home where the owner lives. I do not know how long the check was waiting there to be collected. It was detected only when the owner's L.A. representative visited here and found the AIG mail. Although I had written to AIG to contact me via E-Mail when problems would arise, no such action had been taken.

I contacted Wells Fargo about transfering my balance from AIG. to date they have heard nothing. Wells Fargo contacted me to get a hold of AIG, again NO RESPONCE. Its been over a month. What can be done?

On 10/17/2008 I faxed an Annuity Withdrawal Request to AIG Annuity, asking for a complete surrender of the funds invested in the name of my mother-in-law. 2 weeks later I saw on aigannuity access that the full amount of over 130000 had been withdrawn on 10/28/08, but until today no funds have been credited to my mother-in-law's checking account.

All tries to get in touch with AIG, either by phone or E-Mail have failed, resp. no reply has been received. What can I do, so that the money is transferred. It is needed to pay the board fee at the nursing home. As I live in Switzerland, it is difficult to operate from here.

No interest seems to be credited since 10/28/08, also there is no cash left to pay for the future boarding bills.

I have read all these other complaints which made me very concerned. Long story short, I've had similiar problems with dealing with my mothers death claim benefit on my fathers annuity. It's bad enough to deal with his death and then add the AIG people to your problems.

Here's what I did. First, I had kept copious notes. I wrote a 3 page letter recapping all the problems and the people I had spoke with. I filed a formal complaint with The Texas Insurance Commission(where AIG is based) and The Ohio Insurance Commission where the annuities had been bought.

I also sent copies to our congressman. I then faxed copies of the complaints along with my letter to AIG claims department. There fax number is 806-342-6966. It will probably take you many attempts to get thru. After getting totally jacked around for over two months, I got a call from a very nice lady THE SAME DAY and got our check 3 business days later.

I also faxed the insurance commissioners copies of your complaints from consumer affairs. When they asked me how I wanted this resolved, I asked for the money and for them to investigate how long it is taking AIG to process their claims.

I hope this helps for all of you. I am so ticked that our tax payer dollars are going to pay to keep this comapny afloat!

Since Aug 14, 2008 I have been tryning to contact AIG to withdraw my annuity. To date I have got nothing but a recording on the phone along with a internet address that leads to no where. I was told by a bank representive AIG was a good save investment for my IRA. I went to this same bank to ask for help. The investment representative called every number he could find but failed to get a reponse. He was also appalled by AIG's lack of accountability. Yet I still see AIG advertise on TV to get more people to invest in their company. How can this be?

I am a disabled Vetren living on a fixed income. I am having a difficult time paying my bills. The reason I saved money was to be able to meet my obligations. The stress added by AIG is affecting my mental and phyiscal state. I am already suffering from delayed combat stress which has affected both my mental and phyiscal state. AIG has just added to the load.
