I have had Primerica for some time now me and my 6 kids. So my policy did lapse but I did reinstate it. My son was murdered on March 26, 2025. It is now July 15, 2025 and still no pay out. They continue to ask for bogus documents like doctor records and murder investigation results and even though they have the killer they are adding on other bogus documents as if they just don't want to pay out. I will never ever recommend them. If I could have given no stars I would have.

Unbelievable. I have been with Primerica for years, simply putting money into my Roth IRA. I did need to withdraw some money from it, for some unexpected expenses throughout my time having the account. Just recently, I changed the amount I would put towards it, as I am saving up using another platform. I did NOT receive any mail, email, phone call, etc. from them stating that my account was behind. I only received the 3 month mail letter stating I had less than 3 weeks to pay the overdue amount, or they would close my account. I called them to see what I can do. No help whatsoever. They lady simply told me you have to pay it by that date or else. I simply told them I will withdraw my money and find another company.

Someone at Primerica must have farmed my phone number. I received a call and I was driving. It was pleasant enough but I won't ever work for Primerica. So if they're buying lists or getting information off of LinkedIn, stop it! Vitello and Associates Inc. was the ones that came after me. No thanks.

I am not sure all Primerica agents are equal but Tommie ** was my agent and he was not responsive nor did he provide good service. I would not recommend him and therefore will not recommend Primerica.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Do NOT use this company. A once reputable company is now horrible to deal with and won't provide documents needed for financial records and taxes. If you call customer service, it is outsourced overseas and they can't help you. They keep putting in requests or telling you to fax letters to get assistance. In the end, wait months only to get incorrect documents. Call back, they make it hard to talk to a supervisor and no one can get you information. They just create another ticket for the same thing and tell you to wait for a response that could take 3-5 days or for me, 2 more months. Then wrong again and you start the process all over again. You get nowhere. Take your money elsewhere to invest.

Updated on 05/20/2025: My Father unfortunately had an IRA through them that I inherited after he passed. They will not release the funds, no way. They are now requiring a "tax investment waiver", this serves to notify the state of PA that I would owe inheritance tax. I paid the inheritance tax on my portion of the IRA that I inherited. They refuse to release the money. They do not need a "tax waiver" as I am paid in full. Every time I call, I get a call center somewhere. They are delaying my money.
That's okay. I did some research and found out the attorneys that are suing them, for their fraudulent practices. I am now on my way to my Dad's to gather all the paperwork, to see how bad they ripped him off. According to SEC they should invest for the best interest of their client. They invest for the best interest of themselves. They actually owe me about double of what they are claiming he has. Thankfully, he never threw anything away. I am getting the proof, then suing this pyramid scheme company. If you are going to invest. Use Vanguard or another reputable company.
Original Review: This company is a nightmare when it comes to paying beneficiaries on its policies. My Father passed away back in February. Here we are at the end of April and no Pay out. They said, they were mailing forms to executor. They never did. Me and my sisters got the forms off the internet. We sent them in over a month ago, along with a certified death certificate. I called customer service this evening. They said we sent them to the wrong place. Well how are we supposed to know what form to send, when they do not tell you. My psychic abilities aren't working.
It took us a month to get a certified copy of the death certificate. Apparently, that's sitting at a desk, in their office in Georgia. If it went to the wrong place, why didn't they call or send it back? Why didn't they do something? Anything? Because they just don't care. I was going to open an account with them, with this money. That's out of the question now. I just want away from these idiots. I also want compensated for the overnight shipping. Talk about incompetent.

Customer service was awful!! Been trying to close my account that my parents set up when I was a child and they gave me the run around. It has been a month long ordeal and each customer service representative was uninformed and very unhelpful. When requesting a fund redemption they required a Medallion Signature Guarantee which I got from a bank and after submitting it Primerica rejected it. Their reason was because it was a "copy" but I had sent the original document. I then called 3 times asking them what they needed. Each time they said they will send it to their back office team but could never give me a time frame. Each customer service representative said "they could not give me a time frame" then they would change their response to "they did not want to give me a time frame".
I asked multiple times to talk to someone from their back office so that I can get a time frame to follow up and they said they cannot. They kept saying the same thing like a broken record. It was not until the fourth call that they said they need now a copy of my birth certificate to wave the Medallion Signature Guarantee....all of this to just verify my age....No one should ever use this company. Primerica is a joke and you should never get involved with them if you value good customer service. I give them one star cause I have to. If I could they would get negative stars.

My mother has been attempting to close her accounts with Primerica for approximately one month. During her initial call, the representative insisted that she required a PIN number to proceed with the cancellation, prompting her to wait for the PIN to arrive by mail within 7 to 10 days before following up. However, upon calling today, she was informed by a different representative that she must complete a form and return it by mail, which would also take an additional 7 to 10 days for processing. This contradicts the information provided by the first representative, and it is particularly frustrating for a 75-year-old woman to be delayed in accessing her funds, which she has never utilized.
With the market experiencing significant declines, it is disheartening that she must endure another 2 to 3 weeks to potentially retrieve her own money. Having been with Fidelity for many years, I regret not transferring my mother's funds sooner, as dealing with this company has proven to be a considerable headache, especially given the financial losses incurred while waiting for her funds due to a supposed text message regarding account closure.

This company is a nightmare, been trying to cancel/close a retirement account that hasn't performed in 25 years. I curse the pyramid-scheming 'friend' that sucked me into signing up with this company. PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE!

Almost 20 years with this company and they just dropped us! We moved and our address changed, without even a letter, phone call, or email, we were just dropped! After calling them for a reason, they said, because we had not communicated with them that we moved. Our payment was taken out automatically, but because we changed the card without letting them know, (because of fraud) we were just dropped! They told us we could get more insurance, but for a much larger cost! So, in essence, they received $10,000 and could not care less about us!!!

My father recently passed away and had a Primerica insurance policy that he has been paying on for years! He probably paid more than the policy is worth. He is now gone, and on top of our pain and suffering, they have it very difficult (an administrative nightmare) for us to collect on his policy. This is not a good partner and you should really think about if you want your family jumping through hoops to collect on what has been paid for. They don't call you back. Each dependent has to send in a separate claim form in order for any of them to collect on the policy. They don't provide an envelope for the return address of you select "check". And nowhere does it asks you to have your signature notarized but they send you letter after letter asking for more information, but no one is available to get on the phone. I will be writing to the IL Attorney General to recommend a full investigation into their practices.

I bought the 99 Year Term policy back in 2010 for my family with 2 child ryders. I was a Life Agent for them at the time and sold policies. I was a Division Manager on track to be a Regional Manager. I quit due to the Regional Director letting another agent steal my client. Now all these years later, I try to exercise my child ryders and get the run around. After trying for months before it expired, guess what, it expired and they refused exercise it. They then communicate to me my TERM to 99 years old is doubling because I turned 65. I was shocked because the amount I pay for the policy was supposed to be good till 99 years old? Now they want me to sign a new contract with lower coverage to bring the price down. Folks this is a scam. Buyers beware!!!

A few years ago, I combined several investment accounts into a portfolio with Primerica. Recently I was in a tough spot and needed a few thousand dollars for less than a month while awaiting the sale of a property. When I contacted my Primerica advisor, he was quite negative. It felt like asking a mean daddy for an allowance. The advisor cautioned me about withdrawing and not wanting to see me down the road as a greeter at Walmart. He made me feel like it was not my money. Therefore, I found other means to cover my expenses.
After a few weeks transpired, I reached out to my advisor again and explained how unprofessional he treated me. I told him I was looking at different companies at which time he then apologized. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He told me he's an independent agent and does not have a supervisor. I blame myself for not thoroughly researching investment firms before signing on with Primerica. Even if I lose money, I will be moving my accounts into another company. I told him that I cannot in good conscience recommend Primerica.

The Primerica company a scam! My ninety year old mother paid $7,336 over many years. The Primerica company will pay our family only a little over $1,500. BEWARE SCAM! We are reporting this to the proper authorities.

I am writing this to help others and protect their loved ones. This "insurance" company primary goal is to mooch off of others hard earned money. You cannot find any contact information if you want to open an account by yourself online because they want their agents to open one for you so they can get a hold of your family and friends/everyone you know personal information so they can profit off of them/recruit them. I went to some of their recruiting events and you do the typical celebration, screaming and announcing people (basically a facade to keep those coming to feel good about themselves), but it's just a waste of time. You spent over 60 hours a week working and recruiting only to make about $150 per week, they claim you can be a millionaire at their events which is absolutely a like to feed off of people who are desperate for a job and to feed their families.
They prey on the vulnerable especially when you're struggling with your current job or are looking for a job. I researched them and decided not to join because of so many lawsuits online they have faced. They lied and said Dave Ramsey supports Primerica which is an absolute lie because he posted on Twitter and said he would never recommend this company. Do not join but if you do you have been warned! They have this attitude they're better than everyone and if you don't join their cult, you are not their true friends which is fine. Protect your loved one, protect your finances and protect your future and stay away from this company!

My experience was terrible. My sister passed away in November and Primerica was her insurance which I was the beneficiary. I had a rep named Ben who was helpful at the time, help gather information and turned everything in to the company. When it got to the medical records the company said that something wasn’t checked that should had been and he claimed that he did an appeal. Ben stated that he reviewed everything before submitting it for her when she filled it out so he didn’t know why they said it wasn’t correct. I waited MONTHS to hear back from him and until one day I decided to call the company and ask about the appeal. They stated that they never received an appeal from him and for me to do it.
I then reached out to Ben and asked him about it and he said that the company stated that they didn’t get his email and that they were going to do it again. After that I tried multiple times sending a text and calling the rep from the company and he never responded to me. I just feel like in that time while grieving, they were not there to help me as stated in their policy. They were very unprofessional and I wouldn’t recommend them at all.

I had a terrible experience with Primerica. I didn't receive my beneficiary check for over a month after it was mailed out. I had to put a stop payment on it and the new check was mailed out on May 8th but I still haven't received it. I complained about the lack of safeguards in place for something as important as a check, but was told that they couldn't use FedEx or UPS for delivery. It's frustrating that they don't have better systems in place to protect their clients' money. I would not recommend using their services due to the fact clients will pay into their system, and have no say so over cheap delivery options that can guarantee them to receive their funds swiftly and safely.

I was told that opening an IRA would be a smart move and that my money would be invested in ways that a sure profit would be attained. Needless to say I lost 1/3 of my money when I pulled out. Never again.

Depending on which account they are taking $ out of Cancel it and open a new one immediately. PRIMERICA ROTH IRA CANCELATION # **. PRIMERICA LIFE INSURANCE CANCELATION # **. Do not go to your agent to cancel. They won't help you. Also their email is PLIC@primerica.com. Good luck and get out of it as soon as possible. I didn't let them have a dime from me

I am a young woman just starting life. My representative with PRIMERICA was so patient and kind. She took her time explaining the difference in life insurance policies and teaching me money concepts that can help me build money while I am young. I have enough coverage to start out with, yet can raise it when I start to earn more money and have a family. Also, again being young my financial coach showed me how to invest a little for now and how it will pan out for my future. I am so excited that I learned about how money REALLY works! This has opened my eyes and I think I will look to work with PRIMERICA in the near future! I usually do not give reviews, but after seeing all the sad experiences that others had, I'm hoping others willing see the good in this company and how they help everyday people like me. Do not invest. Primerica refuses to pass on my deceased wife's account balance to the next of kin. Primerica has stated that being the next of kin does not matter. They do not recognize the Intestate succession, or predetermined order of inheritance. They are going to keep the investments and continue to invest and profit off them for a period of five years, at which point it will go to the state and unclaimed property. In order to get the investments withdrawn sooner or transferred to my name, I would have to go to court and spend money to get appointed as an estate executor before they would recognize what most institutions and insurances would call "next of kin," or intestate succession.
I have had to close 9 accounts that my wife processed at the time of her passing. Each business and investment firm was very helpful. Some were even still in her maiden name. She did not have a beneficiary named in these institutions. I showed them our marriage certificate and death certificate and they took care of the accounts. Only Primerica strung me along for months with their 'medallion signatures' and paperwork, only to tell me I would need to go to court or wait five years. They clearly just want to keep the money in their portfolio at this point. Very unhelpful and disappointing. This is posted merely as a warning. Name a beneficiary on your accounts but don't count on customer service from this firm.

I became a Primerica Life Insurance client 20 years ago as I was getting serious about life and thinking about starting a family. The Representative was a work associate that was a part-time Primerica agent. She offered a complimentary financial plan to asses my needs for life insurance and I was super impressed. I had a different company offer a written financial plan and wanted to charge me $750 and I'm glad I found Primerica. The Primerica plan was comprehensive. It assessed my debt, insurance cost (auto and home and life) my investments and tax situation and created an efficient strategy for wealth building for retirement. 20 years later I have followed my plan and am debt free including my mortgage! I'm on track for retirement with the Roth IRA that established for me.
I sleep well knowing if something happens to me, my family will be better off than I could ever hope because of the life insurance plan. They taught me how to create a plan to become self-insured. I now don't need the life insurance (but I will keep it until the end of the 35-year term) because my investments are sufficient to cover my family's needs if I die. Without my Primerica representative, I never would have learned the financial concepts and followed my financial plan to get where I am today, financially. I can't say enough great things about Primerica! I love them!

This company has a 'roach motel' recruitment strategy. It's very easy to get in, but very hard to get out. They ask for your SSN on the first interview on Zoom, and they get you to sign this document and pay 99 dollars and they show a monthly payment of 25 dollars, but say that it's covered by them. This is not the case, it's practically a scam to try to get you to pay them 25 dollars a month. Very hard and unclear how to terminate the agreement and cancel the subscription. It is a scam and don't fall for it.

Said they would go over the plan with me but never did! Just kept taking money without permission and put me in debt! Told them I didn't want the plan cause it's not what I agreed to and can't even get them to cancel or respond now! They are scam artists!

I’ve heard many reviews and good things about Primerica so me and my wife decided to get it for our family last year. What ended up happening was during our qualification process, my wife actually had passed 4 days after doing the application. I would’ve never thought we would’ve gotten paid out since we had just done the application, never even did our physical. But yet 3 days later my agent showed up to my doorstep with our check for $250,000. It was such a blessing since I have 3 children under the age of 10 years old. I definitely recommend it 100% because they helped us out with the process very quickly and were very understanding. After what had happened all my family came to Primerica. God Bless Primerica and my Agent!

Due to unexpected life circumstances I had no Choice than to call Primerica after a friend of mine reminded me about my funds, so I called my agent. My agent told me to call the customer service, I did. The first lady was very nice and deducted the amount that I needed. 3 days past did not receive anything, no phone call no letter whatsoever. I called on the third day they told me they process it on the 27th and they told me I have to wait because you should kick from their Bank to my bank on the 28th and final transaction to be done on the 30th, call my bank. I waited another two days. 5 days later no deposit. Remember I called on the 24th and waited until the 30th. This is more than 3 days that they promised. I called every day after the 3rd day, I still did not receive anything.
One of the agent, gave me I believe it was a fake customer number which is *** and usually it's five numbers, that lady was rude, talking over me, putting me on hold while I'm talking twice and the third time he just hung up. customers service at Primerica it's not good some of the agents are good and some of them are very nasty. I'm still waiting for my own money. I can't even go see my mom with a stroke that was the reason that I called. We are putting together to help her bills until she is better. Now I'm behind on her mortgage, my mortgage because I use my money to help her. It will take some times for the health department to reply. Primerica did not honor my request and I'm on my 8th day. I never received anything.
I request a reference number of the transfer to give to my bank so they can see if the deposit was made, I can't believe a big company like Primerica cannot give me a reference number until they create a case that would take 7 days, then they can probably give me a reference number. So I'm going to wait about a month to receive my own money. I don't think it's fair. Now I owe money that I know that I'm going to receive in 3 days my account is overdrawn because Primerica give me a word and it did not respect their word. They are liars, very unworthy, they are not reliable, they don't respect and care about people.
In the middle of a situation as such for us with the way the economy is going, gas is high, everything is high except our paycheck. Now I can't even get my money. I don't think Primerica deserve a full star. I'm done with Primerica. I called again and withdraw the rest of my money and I don't care now if I receive it after 3 months. I'm done. I also try to talk to a manager they never transfer me to a manager. Just keep on sugarcoating everything and I never talk to a manager about the case. I called five six times during the day and no result, till today I never received my money. This is not the right. This is not professional and no respect for customers. Primerica suck. DO NOT USE THIS INVESTMENT COMPANY.

My wife and I opened an account with Primerica a little over a year ago. Due to some unfortunate events we had to close our account. It has been a nightmare working with them to close down our account and get refunded. It's been over a month now and they are still working on closing our accounts and refunding what's left. They are quick to take out money from your account, and they do it on the dot every month, but they are extremely slow and reluctant to refund you. My wife has been on the phone with them twice and they still have not fully refunded us. Do not do business with this firm. They don't care about you. I would give a -5 stars if I could.
