Ford Expedition
Biggest, sure. Best? We're not so sure about that. This hulking brute tortues its owners almost as much as it annoys the rest of us.
Problems include:
- Engine problems
- Gas cap leaks
- Torque converter failure
- Transfer case
- Transmission woes
- Premature rust
- Window track problems
- Window track problems
- Speedometer/odometer (bad news at end-of-lease time)
- Spontaneous combustion
- Window track problems
- Windshield seals
- Miscellaneous complaints
- Spark plug blow-out
One thing's for sure: once you drive one of these big guys off the lot, it's yours. Expect little help from Ford if you have problems. Of course, you could try Ford's dispute resolution board.
Arsenio of Brooklyn writes (2/27/03):
I would like to start a petition where Ford
Expedition owners could add their names, in an effort to force the Ford
Motor Company to accept responsiblity for their merchandise. These
vehicles cost too much money for this manufacturer to be so
complacent and neglectful towards the needs of the customers who put
so much money into their company. Any help or advice you can offer is
greatly appreciated.
A very unhappy Ford EB Expedition
Owner
Ford smashes major lawsuits as though they were gnats. Petitions mean even less. If you have a specific problem you're trying to solve, the best course of action is often a suit in Small Claims Court. If you're lucky the company won't show up and you may win by default. If not, you have lost nothing but your time and the filing fee. Welcome to life in the 22nd century.
