Received a cancelled ride fee after completing the ride.. All in all the ride quoted me at 22$. Ended up costing well over 50.. When contacting customer support they said they would fix it. They didn't fix it. Now at 29 days past the ** charge I'm trying to check back into it and the website says that they can't do anything with it because the charge happened over 30 days ago.. Between all these new hidden fees and crazy charges they've heartily convinced me to never use Uber again.. Screw Uber and screw Uber's customer support. Every bit of this experience has been troublesome and undesirable.. Uber as a company sucks.. I hope this snake of a company finishes eating its self soon.. Good riddance.. The only reason I gave one star is because I couldn't give 0.
I had a driver who dropped me off at my place and sped away with my phone in the back. I ran after him but he was going SO fast, (in a parking lot mind you!!) and he wasn't paying attention. Needless to say, I couldn't catch him, I have severe asthma. So with my lungs bursting, I try to contact Uber. Let the games begin. Well I did get ahold of the driver finally. He was supposed to call me after his next trip around 9:30pm. He never called. I contact Uber again. He never had my number to call me with, he lied to me and said he did. He was just going to ghost me and sell my phone! So now Uber charged me the $20 lost item fee, and refunded it. I disputed the trip charge and now they're charging me DOUBLE the price of that trip to reinstate services to me. Go Uber.
I have used Uber previously with all kind of charging issues, but this time tops it all. I ordered a car from LGA airport at 12:00 am. I live 45 minutes away. I get a price of $153 which previously was about $75. Included was a $20 toll charge for a bridge, where there was NO toll on the direction the driver had to take. There is a toll at the opposite direction. Uber refuses to refund me. Horrible customer service. This is outright stealing!
I just started driving with Uber; I drove on a part-time basis and started driving with them in July 2022. I drove once in July 2022 and 2 times in January 2023. Mind you, the last two times that I did drive, I even got a tip from my passengers, thus, one can only assume that my riders were pleased with the service. Anyways, when I did try to drive with Uber again in January 2023, I was notified that my account had been deactivated due to low ratings and they wanted me to pay 60 dollars to take a course with them before I would be reactivated. I called them out on this and told them they were just thieves trying to steal people's hard earned money. How are you gonna rate a driver and temporarily deactivate someone after 2 rides? They are just scammers trying to steal people's money by having you take a 60 dollar course that you shouldn't have to take!
Uber is losing so much money that they are trying to find ways to recoup that money by targeting drivers. DO NOT DRIVE WITH THEM; LYFT IS SO MUCH BETTER! I told Uber to deactivate my account on a permanent basis and that I wasn't gonna be a prey to their scam that they're running by giving them 60 dollars to reactivate my account. I will also be contacting the BBB about this and sharing my experience on all social media apps so that people are aware of what kind of fraudsters Uber is.
New driver. Have only 2 Seconds accept job. After accepting you will find out rider going out of town 90 miles while rider sitting in your car. Can't cancel job while guest refused to leave your car. Uber simply laughing at you. When I call to explain they told me, "Now you know."
Requested for Uber XL more than 12 hours of departure time but Uber X came which was very small. Then to cancel that and organise another transport which caused significant delay to reach airport and stressed and rushed to get the flight.
Do not recommend Uber for early morning flight. Driver decided not to show for a 3:30 am pickup and did not let me know. I had to drive to the airport and it delayed my check in which was another Southwest mess. Uber charged ME a $29 cancellation fee and the airport parking and Denver Airport was $300 in expense I did not plan to have. Horrible experience and way to start the holiday vacation.
I used Uber in Canada. They started charging me monthly for uberpass Canada. I did not sign up for it but didn't notice it on my credit card until 2 months later after they charged me for 3 months. They would only refund the last month. I don't even live in Canada and only use Uber once or twice a year. Beware as they hope you won't notice and they will make some extra money. They may have some button you have to press to get your ride that signs you up without knowing it.
Uber charges us a commercial insurance fee for every trip! And the longer the trip the more they take out why? They don’t even know how many riders are on each trip. It should be one flat rate instead it feel like they chose what to take.
I have used Uber before and never had an issue until now. I mainly use Uber for a ride to the airport which is 4 miles from my house. Last time Uber charged me $12.00. This time to go 4 miles to the airport was $43.55!! I understand inflation but this is ridiculous!! I've tried numerous times to get some sort of refund with no luck... terrible customer service!!! Will never use Uber again!!!
The rider called me before I picked him up, portraying himself as an Uber supervisor. He told me to pull over because my account has been suspended. I told him I was pulling over, but before I could he called me "A ** monkey bitch". And then he canceled the ride.
I live in Denver CO. Uber is super unreliable here. Constant cancelation of your ride or waiting hours to get a ride. The price is extremely inflated. You feel bad not to give a driver a tip because you know they are not getting paid even half of what you pay the app so you are kinda guilt-tripped into adding more money for a tip. I recently scheduled a ride to the airport. Since I needed a 430am pick up, I made a 48 hour scheduled uber reservation. The first person who picked it up, canceled right away. Within an hour someone else picked it up. The morning of my departure, 15 minutes before the pickup my ride canceled. And no one else would pick it up because Denver has no drivers. I missed my flight and uber would only give me a 100 dollar credit which was not even worth them making me miss my flight. Once I was rebooked, I took the train to the airport instead.
When I returned from my trip, it was like 8pm and I didn't feel like waiting for the train so I decided to try uber again. I went to the uber pickup and scheduled a ride which I got right away. The cheapest one-way ride to my house was $94!!! I could not believe it. In the past, I have paid anywhere from $26-$50 but never on my life have I ever had to pay $94!!! The poor driver had to listen to my complain and he told me he was only paid $45 for the trip. I live 30 min. from the airport. Anyway, not sure what is wrong with this company but I feel like it needs to go out of business or have some kind of regulation to it. $94 dollars is more than half of a days wage for me. Not sure why this ride-share company thinks it is all that. This is my 2 cents!!!
The cost for a ride anywhere has gotten out of hand. A few years back I could get a ride to the airport for around $45. Now it's more like $70. Customer service is either non-existent or near impossible to get in touch with. It's like they designed the app to make it that way. Trying to get a ride home from the Atlanta Airport, one of the busiest in the world has me waiting around 45 mins typically, with rides getting canceled often. This company deserves to go out of business. I will be looking into traditional cabs.
I preordered an Uber for this morning. I get a text saying the driver is nearby. My son is outside waiting. I get another text telling me my ride ended early?? How the driver never showed up. I was still charged. No response from Uber!!! No way to talk to a person. They keeping sending me back to the app!!
Shame on you for not having a EMERGENCY # to contact one of your drivers, I was thousands of miles from home & left my cell phone in the back of a ride. I tried your listed # & of course it is a short recording that you don't answer phones & hangs up on me. I was tried to try the Uber app - It's on my phone in the back of one of your drivers!! It was very stressful & I will think again about using a co that I have no one to contact. You think deleting my post will make me go away?
So aggravating. I have been with Uber since March 2022. I have good and bad weeks. However, I was tricked and I am very pissed. I was told that if I finished the promotion for 50 trips I would get $150. Which I never did. Had I known this minor bit of info I would not have kept the rental. I gave them screenshot after screenshot confirming my issue. All to no avail. I emailed corporate. This happened on Halloween and guess what I finally gave up on time and energy 2 weeks ago. I mean I legit called and emailed every day. I hate when companies take advantage of the movers and shakers that help this economy. Moral of the story go with Lyft or the up and coming new rideshare companies. DEFINITELY NOT UBER!
I scheduled a ride to the airport a month ago. The driver was assigned a few days ago. Do you think that people going to the airport for a party or for a flight? Any person would say for a flight, right? We guess our driver wasn’t one who thought the same. He decided to cancel our trip 15 minutes before the scheduled time. So, at 4 am I saw a cancellation notice. We found a driver with Lyft but it was 30 minutes late. And we were late for our flight too. We had to reschedule our flight and pay additional $118. Instead of coming at 11am direct flight, we would come at 10.20pm with two stops.
My family and I were SCAMMED by Uber in Columbia, SC on 12/3/2022. We requested an Uber to pick us up from a concert and take us back to the hotel. The driver did not pick us up. Instead he drove the intended route and completed the trip. We were still in the concert and did not know this happened until we exited and began looking for him. Uber refuses to refund me for this trip stating that it was completed. I have photo evidence!
Uber does not care about it drivers. Will randomly deactivate your account and refuse to disperse your earnings as they have done to me today with no resolution, help, or investigation. Left me an hour and a half away from home with no gas or money. Do not ever drive for Uber. They could care less about drivers. I’ve been driving for them for 5 years and feel like an idiot for driving a mile for them. They could care less about you or your vehicle. Let them sit back to 50% or more of every fare, use your car, fuel, insurance, and time, and then screw you over and steal your hard earn money….
$60 to go 9 miles from the airport to home. That's $6.66 a mile. What a coincidence that it equals 666. I hope this price gouging company goes bankrupt. We are going back to cabs and will never use Uber again.
Non existent customer service. Ignore customer emails. Rude and obnoxious passengers. Uber takes too high of a percentage of the ride charge especially considering gas prices, car maintenance and wear and tear from as well as needing additional rideshare insurance or else your insurance company will drop you. Uber provides zero services except for a blanket insurance coverage for drivers and with a very high 2k deductible. Go work anywhere else but this sham of a company.
They keeping taking money out they should not be taking out. On Uber one I canceled the membership. Not getting any lower on trips but still taking out 9.99. Watch them. They take money out they shouldn't. If I didn't need them I would not use them again.
I made a reservation in advance to have a driver pick me up at the Tampa airport at 11:37 pm. My flight arrived early and I had my luggage before that time. Apparently the driver cancelled my reservation and it is impossible to contact Uber despite what they say about using their worthless app. I was able to get a Lyft driver within 5 minutes for half the price that I would have paid Uber. I’ll be a Lyft customer from now on and so should you.
We had an Uber ride to airport reserved a couple days in advance and received a confirmation email. On day of service, 4 minutes prior to pick-up time we received a ride cancellation notice! We had to scramble to get a ride from neighbor, contrary to the Uber app claim “A trusted ride” is false.
I have a Tesla and have had 2 over past 8 years. They have been using tesla Uber credits voucher rather than a loaner car, when you need service for about 3 years now. I’ve used them 4 times in the 3 years. You get usually $100/day or a combined amount for several days ($400 for anticipated 4 days) in service. I’ve used Uber black, Uber lux on these occasions no problem. The voucher itself indicates only restrictions are Uber eats and you are responsible for the tip.
This past time I was charged my personal payment in lieu of the voucher and Uber stated it’s because I used Uber black which the voucher “clearly” indicates that as restriction in the voucher. I sent proof and uploaded it multiple times as well as proof of using Uber black and Lux previously with tesla voucher Uber credit. They continue to parrot same thing now 6x, while simultaneously refusing to acknowledge the verbiage on the actual voucher or my previous proof. I’ve asked to speak to a supervisor and someone on the phone. They have ignored my requests completely and stopped responding altogether and just keep sending me requests to rate their service.
I went to a company event last night and took an Uber there and back-$39.85 and $37.94-I was alerted as I got home that there were 19 charges for over 30.00 each by Uber. I canceled my card and reversed all charges. However those charges of almost $600.00 are now on hold for payment-Uber Customer Service response-it will be reversed in 3-5 days. WTH? It should never have been charged in the first place! Oh, and it's my bank that is causing the 3-5 delay. What if I had been over drafted? Uber would need to be paying those fees! Instead I will need to wait until next week for my account to be credited-DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Uber's take rate is out of this world. If you were to decline 1 trip, it takes 60 trips to get that 1% of money back. As me, the operator, the maintainer, the insurer (they have insurance too), with no cost to them other than "app development" is quite embarrassing. There are "surges", and "bonuses", but these wouldn't be needed if Uber just kept 10% of YOUR profit, compared to the 50% they usually take. Uber shows true capitalism. So I'm looking for app developers to make our own and put Uber and Lyft out of business. It's outrageous, their company will say their take rate is 25%, but more times than not, it's +40%.
I've also tried reaching out to them via professional e-mail to no avail. I cannot find a customer support e-mail on their website. So I went to unprofessional Facebook, asking for their professional e-mail to conduct official business. Their reply, "Please give us your phone number and the trip number so we can correct this". Either no one works in HR or bots generate messages. Uber is just greedy, while they pocket everything now. "App Development", when the app is already developed. The only thing they're doing is, "updating" their app and still charging their drivers ridiculous take rates. And if you guessed it, no I will not accept a trip for $1.84 for Uber Eats to drive 5 miles (heart of Pittsburgh)...
As a new driver I was sent an email from Uber to change my password and when I tried I was locked out. Now that I need assistance I have absolutely no way to contact them and losing any chance to continue to work as a driver now that I lost access to the app. To have no customer service access without the application is a complete miss on the development team from Uber. As I will need to look into another company to do ride share for.
I lost an item in the car while taking my child to the ER. Customer service was not willing to contact the driver to help me retrieve my lost item. They said the driver was to busy to work out a way for me to retrieve my lost item. This is unprofessional.
I was given an amount of $19.98 at the airport to transport me 8.8 miles. The Uber driver that picked me up did not speak the English language or it was broken up. He was very unclean and when I got in the doors automatically lock. He pulled into a destination that I was not familiar with as I am a new Floridian, and was insisting that I get out on the street, because that’s what the address stated! I refused because It wasn’t the address that a nice couple had help me put in to the Uber information. He finagled around with the GPS system and became quite angry that I would not get out of the vehicle. The security system ADT called, because it was taking so long to make sure that everything was OK!
By that time we were moving to the correct address, because he would not listen to me and I was just a Half a mile away from my home and he took me on another long route. Needless to say at the end of my journey I was charged $60 plus I had tipped him three dollars on the $19.98. This is totally misleading to give an amount and then change it at the last minute. This needs to be looked into. As I arrive to the destination and his broken English he was trying to tell me that that amount wasn’t right and began to show me what he made for the day and became very nervous. I don’t know who changed the amount him or the Uber company, but it was most definitely changed! He was also so nervous that he was pulling away with my carry-on bag in his trunk.
I tried to contact Uber. Like another reviewer stated it’s impossible to get a hold of the company. There is no phone number out there, they want to communicate and say they don’t have your email address yet they’re sending you emails to your address! Trying to offer you specials on either Uber Eats or Or trying to say that it was your fault for the two destinations that were in the system! They compromised and gave me $15 back in my account but the rude driver still got his three dollar tip because I made the mistake of tipping him before I arrived at my destination!! Run from this company! You will end up paying triple. And you will feel very frightened!
So many bad issues with Uber, it's hard to figure out where to start. For me, their customer service has been the biggest problem by far. The only way they allow questions about charges is through the "HELP" option in the app. The responses are automated, frequently don't address the problem and there's no way to reach someone to provide details. LIVE CHAT ON THEIR APP WOULD BE A BIG IMPROVEMENT. The categories they provide as options for a complaint are completely insufficient and useless most of the time.
Recently, the new Reservation fee has been an issue. Some of my trips are more than 30 minutes travel so I'm charged a $10 reservation fee & if I plan ahead and schedule a ride well in advance, I'm assessed the same $10 reservation fee. Ridiculous! If anything, the last minute trips should be considered for an additional fee rather than ones scheduled well in advance. Any trip requested 30 or more minutes in advance are assessed this fee. It can easily take 30-40 minutes for Uber to confirm a driver for a trip.
Riders are forced to wait for a driver to be found or risk a cancellation fee (if they find another means of transport in the interim), while they search for a driver. If they only want last minute riders, they should advertise themselves that way. The rates/surcharges have already increased a considerable amount & penalizing riders for Uber's inability to staff accordingly is ridiculous. I understand the unpredictability of this service but it's the business they chose.
I had booked and received confirmations from Uber and the driver for pick at the train station. My ride was cancelled to the benefit of another person without explanation. I was charged for the ride. I guess the other person had not booked an UberX like me. I had to walk in the dark countrysides.
I have taken Uber many times in the past without any issues. My last experience made me wonder why I was a dedicated Uber rider. I was at an airport, as I waited to get off the plane I checked for Uber prices - the standard fee of $50 came up. I get off the plane and now it's $60, there was a slight issue with booking and had to restart and by the time I book it was $66. I stand at the curb like an idiot for 10 minutes in 40 deg weather waiting...and waiting...and waiting with the car shown to be 1 min away. Then poof the driver cancels
So I rebook and now it's $70, driver comes, and the rest is history...except the next day I get an email saying there is a $6 charge for cancelling my ride (the one the driver cancels) and now I have to go in and fight that and I am refunded my money. No apology and maybe I should get $6 for their driver cancelling (fair is fair right?). Now every time I need an Uber, I check Lyft prices at the same time thru an app that gives me competing prices from various companies. Sometimes Uber is cheaper, sometimes Lyft is, but Uber no longer gets my dedicated business.
The Uber driver that I had was named Mohammed. His car was filthy. We were squished into the back. There were crumbs all over the seats, water bottles on the floor. Come to find out he reported that did that we dirty his car and I was charged a $150. That was a lie by the driver. The only good part about this was that Uber did refund me the $150. It doesn't change the fact that an Uber driver can claim anything they want. I recommend taking a picture of the car on the inside and outside before the driver starts driving.
I live twelve minutes from work which isn’t far at all. For some reason it cost anywhere from $27 to $38 to get a ride. This wouldn’t be a problem if it weren’t for the fact that when I first started riding two weeks ago it was only $12. It seems like Uber has raised their prices because they see that I require their services more often. Then to make it even more annoying, it takes the drivers fourteen minutes or more to get to me when my job is in the middle of downtown LA. Do you guys not have drivers on standby near the city? I’m getting a car next week (thank the gods) so I will not be bothered anymore with this. Do better.. especially if you guys are charging almost $40 for a twelve minute ride.
My Uber account was hacked. The hacker changed the password and put in 2-step authentication so I cannot get in or change the password. I have contacted Uber 12 times via text and emails through their site. There is no way to call. They just tell me to log in, which I cannot do. I was charged $650 dollars for rides I did not take and gift cards I did not buy. Uber has done nothing to help me!
LAX nonfunctional service. App won't confirm ride, but somehow managed to keep rerouting the effort to confirm a ride to useless additional information about the app. Midnight in LA and no ride. Taking a taxi, the old fashioned way. This is the fate of the uber hopeful in LA more and more since Uber only functions as advertised anymore when no one needs it. If it's peak hours or (apparently) airport service, you can NOT rely on Uber. Its only function seems to be an inevitable middle step in escalating frustration when trying to make use of it's services when you actually need them, only to give up and walk, download Lyft, or call a cab. Uber has devolved into wet garbage.
Updated on 09/14/2022: I reviewed Uber on here yesterday, saying that they had given me a lot of double talk about refunding my $100 deposit since I had already decided not to use them and quoting a series of rules and regulations about traveling with a cat in a carrier case when I had already booked the trip before I knew this and they assured me that all I had to do was contact the driver for my trip once he was assigned and ask him if it was alright to travel with my two cats in carriers to take them to the vet since they are not registered service animals.
I decided I was forced to keep the trip since they would not refund my $100 deposit into their wallet on the app. I had been assured my fare would be taken out of the Uber cash deposit I had made. I logged into my bank account on the bank's mobile app this afternoon and there was an unauthorized charge of $39.55 from Uber when I had already been assured that fee would be taken out of the $100 I deposited into Uber cash on Sunday. I read other reviews of Uber after I had already booked the trip and transferred the $100 to the wallet in the app. Reviewers said that unauthorized charges appeared on their credit and debit card statements all the time from Uber and that trying to get a straight answer from Uber proved impossible. There is no way to contact them except through chat. There is no customer service phone number which in itself is suspect in my opinion.
I called my bank and had them lock my debit card and issue a new one. I canceled my trip with Uber scheduled for tomorrow and the bank told me the $39.55 pending charge from Uber dropped off. It was a pre-authorization charge so once I canceled the trip, it fell off, but it was supposed to be taken out of the $100 in the wallet anyway, so Uber lied. The bank told me they would dispute the $100 transferred from my account to the Uber wallet and get my money back. In the meantime, I cannot access my bank account until I receive the new debit card on Friday (it is being sent Federal Express) as a security precaution. All because of Uber.
They are fraudulent and you never get a straight answer out of them anyway as they proved when I tried several times to ask them questions in chat that they never directly answered, but told me the investigation of my traveling with two cats in carriers would be handed over to a specialized customer service team, which was never done. No one ever told me it was okay; they said it was up to the driver and there was absolutely no way to contact the driver; no contact link as they claimed there was. They also never changed my phone number although they made me jump through hoops proving my identity before they would change it and then they informed me the app changing the phone number was broken and they were sorry; they would report it to technical support.
Whatever you do, don't use Uber. They put unauthorized charges using your credit card information on file and then they lie about how your situation is being handled. I tried to get them to refund my $100, telling them I wasn't going to use them at all ever and they never answered the question about the refund at all, just gave me a lot of double talk about how to book rides, waiting periods, etc. DON'T USE THEM. They are not ethical or honest.
Original Review: I have only used Uber once and I didn't like them, but I was forced to book a ride with them because their vehicles are larger than my local taxi service. I booked a ride and added $100 to pay for the round-trip to my local vet since I don't drive. I went into a chat with Justin, one of the customer support people and asked him about the cats, telling them they were in carriers.
He said to ask the driver. I told him a driver had not been assigned yet. He said he would escalate the matter to a "specialized team" who would get back to me within 24-48 hours. He also told me if they were registered service animals after I told him I was taking two cats to the vet. Whoever heard of a seeing eye cat? Uber never got back to me about the cat issue, instead, they got back to me because I was unable to change my phone number.
They would send me a code, I would enter it and then get an error message. So I sent them a separate message about that. I had to jump through hoops - proving I was who I said I was by taking a screenshot of my phone number in the settings page on my iPhone. Then I had to provide the first six digits of the credit card on file. They still didn't change my phone number. I kept after them about the cat issue and they danced around the issue, never answering the question directly.
I asked them to refund my $100 in Uber cash and I would cancel the trip and would use another taxi service. They never even responded to my request for a refund, instead quoting a lot of rules and regulations about how to edit rides, how to cancel rides and providing a link to traveling with pets. I am forced to take the Uber when it shows up at my home Thursday because of the Uber cash I put in, but I will NEVER, EVER USE UBER AGAIN - they are unethical in my opinion.
I have used Lyft for years; however, the company has not addressed my concerns about immunocompromised riders. They just follow CDC so my drivers have not used masks nor provided ventilation. Uber, on the other hand, has their drivers wearing masks and offering ventilation. Too I like the option of choosing eco rides. I will only use Uber from now on.
Placed a pick up from LAX to Ladera Heights. First quote came in at $26.99. Uber then messaged a failed technical problem and asks to reapply. Second request came in at $30.99. Same distance from Ladera Heights to LAX was $21.99. As anyone can see clearly, this is price gouging. Uber will not succeed with gouging customers.
An Uber driver named Christopher was to pick me up between 4:35 and 4:45 pm at my Condominium Complex. I waited 5 minutes outside my condo starting at 4:30. Since I did not see his Jeep I started to walk to the entrance of the complex and expecting to see him on the way. I got to the entrance and waited there until 4:45. That's when I finally saw the Uber driver as he was leaving the complex. I flashed my Uber sign and he stopped. He then told me that he had cancelled my ride because I was not at the pick-up location.
When I asked him where he had been waiting, he told me Condo Unit #1021. That of course is not my condo and I would not have been able to see him there. To add insult to injury, Uber charged me a cancellation fee which was higher than the original ride would have been. And of course Uber does not provide a means to contact them and demand a refund of the unwarranted cancellation fee. Date of missed ride: August 25, 2022.
After submitting my debit card to Uber I've have suspicious activity like bogus rides that was withdrawn from my bank account and Uber neglected my concerns. I think Uber is making false rides in order to steal money from people like me.
I had to leave my car at a repair shop this morning and scheduled an Uber. My first Uber experience ever. I live 2.9 miles and 7 minutes from the auto repair shop. Uber had the unmitigated gall to charge me $20 for a 7 minute ride. $20 + tip. As if that's not bad enough, they charge a $2.00 Booking fee??? WTF? That helps them offset their costs! lol. I work from home. I use pencils, pens, paper, printers, computers and office chairs. Do I add extra charges for clients to pay for MY cost of doing business? No.
I want to know who's regulating Uber? There needs to be a cap on what can be charged per mile. $20 + tip for a 2.9 mile ride It's nothing but a rip-off and I will likely never use Uber again unless they're a last resort. This is nothing against my drivers. They were both very nice and friendly. I liked them both. BTW, my ride to go pick up my car was $8.00 + tip! Don't tell me my first ride wasn't a rip-off. It was. Regulate Uber.
I request a pick from the airport to home about 89 miles. The app gave a price of 112 dollars. I accept the ride. I walked to the ride app for pick-up but got lost in the airport. The driver was talking to me and let me know where to go. When I got, he told me that the company had canceled the order. Then told me that that was too far to drive and no one would pick me up. And this was 12 midnight. But it sounded like, "If you give me cash then we'll talk." I don't understand then why did the app give me a price in the first place. The driver was named "Barinder" ** date 8/20/22 order. Also did not understand if the driver was talking to me always till I met him. Then why did he not tell me from the beginning that he could not do it? To me, no regard for safety.
The service is totally useless. No matter what I tried, credit card, debit card, and Paypal, I kept getting an error saying they don't accept all forms of payment even though all those are listed. The credit cards all had available funds. There is no way to contact them directly without going through their app and sending emails. This is useless when you need a real-time response. The phone number that I was able to find was an automated message that tells you to use the app and hangs up. These ** need to go out of business.
Uber will steal your money I had canceled a ride on my Uber account shows canceled but was charged and on 7/29 had a driver texting the entire ride going 80mph almost rear ended a car then almost side swiped another because of the texting. Again in Uber account shows I was not charged anything but posted and cleared. Uber says they processed a refund my bank is saying no they have not. Now Uber will not respond back to me. Uber is also good for canceling rides just as they are about to pull up. Yesterday both my cards were charged for one ride.. Uber nothing but a thieves.
Needed a ride to airport. Prescheduled 2 days before. They never showed up. Missed my ride to Germany. I would never rely on Uber for anything important. If it's a Sat note date ok. Otherwise...beware. No tel support either
There was a fraudulent charge on 7/1/22 for $74.61 - I never left the house that week as I was sick in bed for days... and I never go more than 2 1/2 miles from home! I cannot get any information on the details of this trip (pick up address, destination, etc) so when I tried to reach Uber, there is no way to reach by phone - the 800 number that shows on the card charge entry just directs you to the website which has a "help" tab that doesn't really help!!!! I am moving to Lyft and will never use Uber again! Oh, and I had to cancel my card and wait days for a new one - very inconvenienced!!!
After Uber stole money out of my bank account, I tried contacting customer service but there is not any phone number, the app tells you to go to the website. When you click on their help button the website is down and doesn't work, which is clearly a red flag for a scam. I now have to file a united nations police report for them stealing money from me. Uber is a scam. Do not use this company.
A few days ago I was in Paris and reserved a van to pick us up at 7:00 am. That morning, a car arrived and I pointed out that we had reserved a van and not a car. The driver assured me he could fit the luggage into his car. When he could not do so he told us we would have to order another vehicle. We got a van and went to the airport, however Uber charged me 80.00 claiming that since the driver cancelled, we still had to pay. I protested the charge, however, Uber refused to reverse it claiming it was my fault that the driver had to cancel. This makes no sense but it is indicative of how Uber views their customers and we have no recourse.
I requested a ride with Uber from the San Francisco International Airport. They didn't come in the estimated time the app showed, so I canceled the trip. I was billed anyway! Details below. I contacted Uber on May 12th from the San Francisco International Airport. The app would show rider 2 minutes away, then would change to 4 minutes away. After 3 changes to the estimated pickup time, I decided I could do better to get a taxi sitting at the curb. I canceled the Uber request and rode the taxi. The taxi ride was $13 more than Uber would have been, but they were there.
The next day my wife asked me what all the charges were about. I logged into the Uber App and my credit card app. Both apps showed that I had been charged 3 times. Two separate charges for what the estimated cost of the ride would have been ($45 approx.) and a smaller charge of $18.02. The larger charges dropped off both apps. The $18.02 charge changed from pending to posted on my credit card and Uber App, but after about a while all 3 charges dropped out of the Uber App. Since then I have complained to Uber 3 times and they basically ignore me as if the charge is normal for a cancellation. If the Uber driver had showed up and I canceled, I would deserve the charge, but they didn't show.
The worst of it is that there is no live person to talk to on the phone. The only contact I have had with them is by text message on their website. This is unsatisfactory! NOTE- I had been using Uber on trips for several years without incident, so past performance was excellent. I may continue to use them in the future, but this incident in May was a black eye for them and has made me think about my options.
DO NOT USE UBER RESERVATIONS. I reserved an Uber pickup several days in advance of an event. This reserved ride was confirmed several times via emails, including the Driver’s name. Near the scheduled pickup time, driver was said to be on his way, although much later than promised. About 30 minutes later the driver simply cancelled!! This left me stranded in the dark with no transportation at 11:00 pm. This is not what Uber’s policy states. I sent a note to Uber the next day describing this terrible situation, and received no response. I’ve been using Uber for years and this is the second time within 12 months that this has happened. This is horrendous and unsafe service.
Today (19-06-2022) I was booking for a ride between 12:15 to 12:45 pm with the service provider. The company cancelled the booking for 6 times. Each time it was saying that the driver will arrived in 4 minutes.
I scheduled an Uber for an early morning flight to YVR airport. I received a confirmation about the driver and that I would be picked up at scheduled time. 15 minutes before I was due to be picked up I received a notification that my trip was concluded and did I want to tip the driver? I went back into the app to look my bookings and found none. I then ordered a new Uber and was told there were no cars available. I tried for about 10 minutes then phoned a cab which showed up within 5 minutes. It was $5 more expensive but that is a premium I am more than willing to pay. I will not try Uber again.
I booked a ride in advance for an early morning flight and it never showed up. Assuming there were no drivers available but they should have notified me so that I could make my own arrangements. Luckily there was a car available for me to drive myself to the bus station so that I was able to make my flight back home. It is very disconcerting to not have a ride that you arranged show up at 2:40 in the morning. It is not like I could just call up anyone at that time of the morning to give me a ride nor did I have time to wait for someone to come give me a ride.
Off lately since past few months the experience over Uber has been terrible! The drivers are rude, they call to confirm the drop location and cancel the ride, they drop istant text stating they are at the pick up location on confirming they are still on the way, in instances of technical error where online payment is not possible (paid in cash at the end of ride) the app still shows payment pending. Even after explaining to the customer care they will not wave off the fare.
My last two experiences with Uber have been abysmal.
1) Our Uber was scheduled to pick us up for an early morning flight out of EWR around 6:00. At the scheduled time, it was over 30 minutes away. When we decided to skip the Uber due to the prolonged wait, we were charged an additional fine for cancelling, despite the fact that the Uber completely abandoned us.
2) Waiting at EWR at 10:15 P.M., after 14 long hours of travel, ready to get home. Then, our Uber cancels last minute, after we waited for nearly half an hour. It then cost us even more money to book another driving accommodation. The service was unreliable.
Overall, Uber was an atrocious experience.

I have booked ride from Aundh to Borivali East and driver started saying from Lonavala that there problem in my steering and he has dropped at Vashi. Uber support team asked us to pay full and told us that, "You will get the refund." I paid 2142 (1872+270), after 2 days support team of Uber has given only 123 rs as refund to Uber credits instead of my account and when I tried to ask support team to review and give back proper refund. They told me that they won't be able to provide refund. So seems Uber rides are fraudulent company rides, I would suggest not to take those rides.
I believe there’s been a data breach at Uber because only the two credit cards I have on file on my Uber app had unauthorized charges. One credit card had three Uber charges on the same day totaling $115.16 trip ** but these charges do not show on my trip history. I haven’t taken an Uber since 2019 and last Uber eats order shows 1/31/22 and the unauthorized charges were on 5/20/22 and 5/22/22. The other card had an attempted unauthorized charge of $599 to the Army and Air Force exchange to purchase authorized military equipment possibly guns. Thankfully my card company notified me and I let them know this was not an authorized charge.
Uber’s customer service sucks, you can not talk to a person, I’ve tried over and over. I’ve sent written info/complaint no help from Uber. This sounds like a dangerous situation and Uber doesn’t care that they may have been breached. I have filed reports with the CA DOJ, the Internet Crime Complaint Center, police as well as my bank and credit companies.
1) I booked a ride from my place to the airport. I received a confirmation along with the rate. 5 minutes later, I got a text saying "they switched a driver" AND the rate increased almost $8.00 more. That was wrong for them to do that. 2) I even booked a ride from the airport to my place. The driver took the tollway, which I don't know why and I NEVER asked him to do that. So after he dropped me off, I looked at the bill. The driver charged me $14.00 for taken a tollway. I emailed Uber but they didn't bother to respond my complaint.
Alamo ordered Uber for us after we got stranded. The driver called, gave us his info then canceled the trip and left us stranded. Negative stars to Jean is arriving now in a black Cadillac ATS, in Naples Florida.
Got cancelled 5 minutes before scheduled trip to airport & was told new driver was to come in 30 minutes which was too late. Immediately texted to cancel the revised driver & took a taxi. UBER charged a cancellation fee for their screw up.
While traveling in Tampa Florida my young son left his iPhone in the car. The driver was completely nonresponsive. Uber was no help. Even though we could see the phone on find my iPhone driving around Tampa obviously left in the vehicle, the only response we ever received from Uber was that the driver said he couldn’t find the phone and the driver never responded directly at all. We would give exact times and locations as to where the phone was to demonstrate that it was driving around in the Uber.
Nothing, no help, we offered to pay the driver to come to where we were staying so that we could look in the car ourselves. Nothing, no response from anybody and ultimately Uber just said we can’t do anything else and closed our help request. Sad and frustrating that they would not help in spite of all this lip service to the contrary. After four days of watching the phone drive around Tampa the battery died so we could not track it anymore. Obviously the lesson is don’t leave anything in your Uber, but this was an easy one to fix and no one involved with Uber put forth any effort.
I really liked Uber until now so this isn't easy. Let me start out by saying that I had an appointment with uber back on April 19, 2022 at 2:30am to drive me and my friend to the airport. I arranged for this service 5 days in advance 04/14. My whole appointment time appeared to be approved and ready on April 19. Now, come to find out when the actual day came on Tuesday, April 19 at 2:30am in the morning no one actually showed up. I woke up around 2am and both me and my friend George rushed out in front of Country Inn Suites where we were staying. When I first woke up, I checked my Uber app and accordingly, it stated that my service was good to go and a driver was on its way, when I finally got outside within 10 minutes, somehow someway it mentioned that no driver was available and me and my friend were very pissed.
Sadly, as a result I had to take my own car to the airport and pay for 8 days of parking from (04/19-04/26) which was almost $150.00 total. If Uber would have come through, it would have only cost me about $40 to 45.00 round trip with tip included. That is why we stayed at Country Inn Suites to store our car at no charge so we could USE UBER to get us to the airport and save us money. Unfortunately, didn't happen and I am very pissed and upset with Uber. I know 2:30am in the morning is usually an odd time to request a ride in the morning from Uber but at the same time, I was under the impression Uber had drivers out on all shifts. Anyhow, if no one was likely to be available somehow someway they should have informed me on the day I made my appointment or sometime before day of my appointment but no one did. I based my faith and decision all in the hands of Uber who has been very reliable and dependable to me up until now.
I tell you, since I used uber off and on I was spreading the good word about Uber saying how much more inexpensive it was than a TAXI CAB RIDE. I only have used Uber for work when my car was in the shop, occasional events in downtown Grand Rapids, or on past trips. I hate to mention this but I can no longer brag about Uber thanks to that incident that happened back on April 19 when Uber did a no show nor notification. They even sent me a $5 coupon promo for next ride saying how sorry they were for failing me. Now considering it cost me a difference of $100 + don't think $5 is much. I will also say this: Even though TAXI CAB rides are a bit more expensive at least they are reliable like Uber ONCE was. Unless Uber can somehow help compensate me for my inconvenience, they have likely lost my business. Sorry Uber!
I became an Uber driver in 2015 and it seemed like a good side gig but there was Grey area with the insurance policies so I bailed. I use a loyal user of uber for many years my rating as a driver and a rider was a 4.8. I recently tried to rejoin the driver platform. I submitted the required information and uber held up my application for weeks because my profile pic was under review. When I called to find out, I would spend hours on hold and being passed from on agent to another. Their email responses were canned and they sent the same reply over and over. Lyft approved my application, not only in the same day, but within an hour. I'm not sure that anyone is actually working for uber and they just have some outsourced system in India posing as a customer service. I'm done with uber as a rider and driver. #deleteuber #notsuperpumded
I have been a "priority" Uber One Platinum member for a while now. WHATEVER THAT MEANS. Every once in a while they throw me a bone in the ballpark of a couple dollars off an Uber Eats order here and there. I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on these platforms. I consider Uber and Eats the same btw because they essentially are with the same interface essentially and the merging of accounts. My two most recent experiences are what are prompting this review, because I am fuming! First off, Uber Eats. Last weekend I ordered my usual Eats order from my favorite pizza joint and the order never arrived at my door, although it said it was delivered. Now, any other MUCH SMALLER delivery platform including now Fedex and UPS) will require the driver to snap a photo to cover themselves, the client, and the restaurant/ business to ensure delivery accuracy. Uber, does not. Even for Priority members.
All that money and resources at their finger tips and someone who knows nothing about computers (me) knows that a feature like this built in could solve so much. When I reached out (to, of course, the only way to reach customer support, by clicking an I need help button, they simply refunded my order). Great, but no explanation or sorry, or other resolve to the situation. Subsequently, I ordered again, and this time, the app required my driver to recite a 4 digit pin that I had to come up with. This was Uber's "solution." Not a picture to ensure that it was a the right door or even neighborhood. Next up, is my morning "ride" with Uber. I needed a ride to my job this morning and so I requested a ride. I waited and the app said they arrived. I have no issues with my eyesight and the app gave me the color and make and license plate as usual, but I did not see it. So, I messaged the driver. Twice. They were "read," but no response. So I called.
The driver picked up on the very last ring with a "what?" So I explained the situation, and they informed me that I was in the car. I was on the sidewalk. I told him this and he proceeded to ask whoever was now impersonating me, to verify their name was Steven. Also, asking whoever it really was, if they were going to, and proceeded to state the address of my work. As I saw where this was going, as they were just following along to get the ride I was paying for, I interjected and asked the driver how he picked up what sounded like two people who did not look like me on my profile, and asked if he checked. To which he did not answer but chose to tell me "it doesn't matter now anyway" and hung up. So, my only option was to see the payment go through for a complete stranger and In my opinion thief's ride, get a new ride and hope not to be late, and try to contact support.
I did, and I explained the situation in the support message as best I could and they responded, apologizing, but needing more information please. Three hours later I have still not gotten a response and am now writing as much as I can down, because for me this a safety issue. This driver was supposed to be "5-star" and is not checking who the fare really is, or if they are even at the right pick up spot. To make my Uber experiences even worse, I have one more story that happened about a year ago with my boyfriend and I. We were waiting for a ride in the top of the pandemic, with mask mandates in full effect. The driver arrived and we were having a goodbye kiss, with masks on, but pulled down and briefly. The driver looked and sped off, immediately declining the drive because we were "not masked." I didn't fight the bad rating I received because of it, out of embarrassment. This time I am not letting it go.
Here's my experience, you decide for yourself. We were staying at a hotel in Nashville located a mere 5 miles from downtown. Rather than renting a car we thought we'd just utilize Uber for the three days we were in town. The first ride into town seemed to go smoothly enough and cost $14; reasonable enough. Caught in the rain late on a Friday evening we thought we'd better head back to the hotel so logged into the Uber app for transport... and to our amazement they wanted $41 (yes FORTY ONE $$) dollars for the same 5 mile drive.
I immediately turned to Lyft for our transportation needs and while they quoted the trip at $18, after waiting over 20 minutes in the rain, and multiple texts stating a car was on its way, they could ultimately supply no such vehicle. Returning to Uber we now were quoted a price of $58 (YES you read correctly; FIFTY EIGHT DOLLARS!!) With no choice other than catching pneumonia we were forced to agree to this outlandish extortion!
Thinking this was somehow just a one-off we repeated our journey the next evening. This time, $10 into town AND ANOTHER $58 FOR THE RETURN! You tell me... is this not the exact definition of CORPORATE GOUGING! I completely understand the principles of supply and demand as it relates to the economy but to apply it to your service in the manner Uber does is simply HIGHWAY ROBBERY! Five miles in one direction ... $10, yet the same five miles on the return, just because the demand is greater, a 600% increase! DESPICABLE! Next time... it's a car rental for me. At least I know how I'm getting screwed up front! Uber and Lyft, well, you know where you can go!
Avoid this company at all costs. I used to believe there was essentially no difference between Uber and Lyft, until last night. Read on... Yesterday at 11:10 pm I booked an Uber ride while on the LIRR train from Penn Station to Hempstead, expected to arrive at 11:30 pm. I received confirmation from Uber of my ride and I could even see the driver heading to my pickup location. Upon arrival, the app prompted me to rate the driver and give a tip, which didn't make sense since I had not taken the ride yet. It turns out, the driver decided to leave the location without actually waiting for me, but cashed the money for the trip.
I contacted Uber right away and shared my experience with them, emphasizing the fact that I had been left stranded at midnight in the middle of a powerful storm in a town that is not precisely safe, forcing me to walk for 35 min back to my car, which was parked at Hofstra University, where I work. Uber has already issued a refund for the ride, but has consistently ignored my question about compensation: It seems like, from their perspective, they are not accountable in the slightest. So, in sum, avoid Uber at all costs. I can only imagine how Uber could have made a very bad situation much, much worse if I were a woman being forced to walk by myself under those conditions. Clearly, this company lacks the ability to realize its customers are human beings.
I cannot explain how frustrating it is to have to order 2 hours before I have to be at my spot to be on time. I cannot tell you how many times I've been given a driver an hour away and then late to work. I swear if Uber makes me lose my job I'm gonna be pissed.
On April 17, 2022, my son and I were traveling back to Orange County from Columbia, MO. We had to return our rental car first and then ordered Uber. Upon accepting the trip and cost, I was notified that the driver was en route and will arrive in 15 mins. We tried to call the driver to let him know that we were at the Hertz rental so he can watch out for it. We tried calling him 3-4 times and it kept going to his voicemail which, by the way, was a very unprofessional voice greeting. Finally it showed that the driver was 1.9 miles out and arriving in 5 mins. It was raining so we figured the cause of the slow arrival. As we were watching out for the car, a Ford Fusion driven by John, it suddenly said 4.5 mins away and then the app went back to finding another driver.
Finally another driver, name was Laura driving a Toyota, was en route and showed 13 mins to arrival. In the next 5 or so minute the arrival name kept changing, at one point from 9 mins to 11 mins. I decided to cancel the trip and I had to agree to a cancellation fee. If I had cancelled for some petty reason or no reason at all, I think it is only fair that I pay a cancellation fee. But if it was due to an initially cancelled trip by the Uber driver and then uncertainty in the next Uber driver arriving, I am demanding that Uber refund me the cancellation fee.
They charge a large 14 dollar reservation fee without clearly saying there is a fee. The only place you see it is before you even start to book it you have to click a small fine print button that says terms. Why not just clearly explain it in the bullet points under what a reservation entails? That is very scammy. Obvious effort to deceive your customers. And no I’m not questioning having a few…although that is a ridiculous amount actually, but rather your efforts to hide cost in order to make more money. Unacceptable! If this is how you run your business, it is not a trustworthy business to work with.
I used Uber on 4/13/22 for return trip home. When I arrived safely at my destination I click on the tip 20% & gave a 5 star review. My credit card company sent me alert that tip had been charged twice. I went into app & click on Help which said to "tap on edit" change tip. Apparently once a tip has gone in there is NO editing of amount or deleting. Today I found out that tips cannot be changed after the trip has been completed. Granted the amount is not the end of the world but it's not a way to run a service company.
Lost my cell phone in the Uber vehicle..Realized it when I walked in the house..Tried numerous attempts to contact Uber..There is no real person that you can talk to. It is all help lines and to no avail. They are absolutely useless. Finally I was able to get a number and they put me in contact with the driver and he wouldn't answer or answer my messages to please deliver my cell phone back to me..Next morning I had to go to the bank and cancel all banking info and switch off my cell phone services..Could have been a very simple fix but I guess he thought it would be a cash grab..Very sick and disheartening. I would never recommend UBER to anyone..Taxi services much more reliable.
I could not update my credit on the app. My special night was ruined! Lost money for gala ticket. No customer service. I am a heart survivor, this was a special night. Reuined over a failing app and no help. I tried to get help no customer service number anymore, had to really search for an email. I have been a Uber rider for a couple of yrs. I am very disappointed in the lack of service. I am very hurt that my special night was ruined, because no help was available. I will take my business elsewhere!
Recently there’s been more and more Uber drivers on their phone while driving. Majority of them aren’t even hiding it, my recent driver was holding a phone and scrolling through it while driving at 90mph, way over the speed limit. This is also why I’ve been using Uber less and less now. I asked a few if they can pay attention to the road and all I got was a sigh or just silence.
Extremely bad experience. I have been Uber's loyal client for a while. I hate to say but I'll switch the app. Driver made me wait for more than one hour. I tries reach out to him multiple times call him multiple time no response. My pick location was **. Driver was at first 5 mine away then he went all the way to pickering again no response from him. No way to communicate with Uber either. First I took my food delivery business away from daily delivery. Now I'll take my passenger's business away. I hope Uber learn about this and improve. I'll have screenshots. I'll post it on social media too. I would like a call back but I know you guys don't care about customer so I know I am not gonna get it
Fortunately I do not use Uber more than Once every few years. The fees are ridiculous. I am all for the fuel surcharge with the cost of fuel. However booking fees of $7. Reservation fees $6. Waiting time charges 13 cents, airport surcharges $3, green future and green surge charge $1. How do you request a ride without booking (lol)? The pick up time was for 4p. They arrived at 404pm. I don’t get a discount for waiting on them. When I watched them sit in a lot for 15 min before picking me up. Drivers don't assist or even get out of the car. The only people making money is Uber.
My husband had to go to rehab and the facility he was going to send an Uber to pick him up. When he arrived at the facility, his wallet fell out of his back pocket and stayed in the backseat of the Uber. The facility contacted the driver to see if the driver would bring the wallet back to the facility or have me meet the driver somewhere to get the wallet, the driver agreed, but never showed up.
I contacted Uber customer service and they gave me no help at all saying that it wasn’t their problem anymore and despite my husband being in rehab, he would have to file the complaint himself, despite not having any way to contact them, or being the one who ordered the Uber (the facility did). Needless to say, all credit cards had to be cancelled and new driver license had to be obtained.
I used the Uber app for the very first time. When I booked the ride, apparently I clicked on a notice that I could save 5% on this ride. I thought this was since it was my first time that I used the service. Instead it ended up being for a recurring fee to be charged to my account. Uber does not let you know that your next month's fee is due, they just charge your card. They do not have a customer service that you can contact to ask about the charge. I had to try to find out on my own what the charge was for, and how to cancel it. And when I disputed the charge that's not possible since I "agreed" to that monthly subscription. Very deceitful way of doing business. I saved $2.00 for the ride, but ended up paying $9.99 for that discount. I will never use this service again.
Uber drivers are usually good but somehow Uber review isn't able to leave bad reviews when I meet someone who doesn't great or car stinks. I wish I could upload the proof of the photo what I'm saying.
This company after I have been delivering for the absolute horrible Door Dash had the audacity to turn me down because in all my life I have one misdemeanor in my life, clean driving record and this piece of ** company is going to judge me as I use my car with no concern at all if I wreck and kill someone or tear up my car while delivering. These delivery services are the worst. Their days are numbered. I am speaking with my attorney tomorrow, I am a ** guy. I guess I should have told them I was **. Do not deliver or order from this company, don't worry Uber. I have a marketing background. I'll make sure and get the point across to everyone I can.
So trip to airport booked & confirmed 2 days out. 5:15-5:25am pick up. At 5:20, Driver Louis, dropped our ride. Another driver picked it up, but 40 more minutes. Laughable. To boot Uber charged me the $1.00 to cancel. I'll stick to regular ride services. Bad tastes are hard to get rid of.
Dave
Uber is a woke liberal company that will cancel you at the drop of a hat. Shameful. I just spent $20k on a Mercedes Benz car to provide a very nice experience for my riders and in less than 2 months I was totally deactivated for what they claim were safety related complaints by guests. Which they refused to let me know the specifics of the alleged complaints. I drove for 5, years for these idiots with no issues and all of a sudden they claim I drive unsafe. They are a rotten company that I would not recommend to anyone work for them. Stabbing people in the back are what they are good at.
I forgot my cell phone in the car. When trying to retrieve it they ask for a phone number to give to the driver. I can't give them a number when they have my phone. No other options. NEVER USE UBER!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!
I set a reservation pickup time for the next day. Got the reservation confirmation email and I was all set. The time came so I went out and waited. It was a no show and they didn't even bother to let me know. Very frustrated and this is unprofessional. I ended up missing my flight. Will not say anything positive about Uber to anyone. Major let down. Don't ever rely on Uber to meet your needs.
I got an Uber from the grocery store. Got home. Guy from the driver seat opened his trunk. I grabbed three bags, turned around and put them in my hallway. Turned around to grab the rest. The guy had closed his trunk and was halfway down the street. It took me calling uber’s customer service line 5 times in an hr and a half to get my groceries back. It was a mistake. I understand. We all make them. But it was a hundred dollars worth of groceries. Then uber instead of fixing this issue like they used to like "Sorry you had a bad experience here's $5 off your next trip" CHARGED ME $15 for returning my groceries. I called them. They refused to refund me. I am taking it up with my bank and deleting the app. I will never take another uber again.
I was driving Uber since 7 years a lady file a false complaint about me that she had a service animal and I refuse to give her ride because of service animal. I know all the guidelines and everything. I didn't say anything like this. Although she didn't tell me she had service animal. She requested a regular uber not a Uber pet so when I went to pick her up I saw 2 dogs and I asked her, "You didn't request Uber pet" and she didn't say anything at that time. She just said never mind. So how would I know she had service animal? I am an old guy. I have to feed my family. I have kids and Uber customer service is sucks. They are rude, not listening to me. What should I do? They deactivated my account for rest of my life. I need my account back. Customers is not always right.
I was at work one day in Ohio and my phone began saying my Uber was arriving in CANADA!! It then quickly began saying the same thing 2 more times. I was able to successfully cancel one of the trips and then had to cancel my credit card. It was impossible to talk to anyone at uber, and all their customer service just told me (in a text) was "it's probably a friend of yours using your account". I have fought them for 5 years over this and they still refuse to refund the charges that resulted from their data breach. Thankfully my credit card refunded the charges and Uber is still waiting to get paid. Do they not realize I can just order a ride from Lyft? Worst company ever!
Jean ** picked up my Uber ride request at 8:05 am. Was never picked up. After 2 hours and a half he dropped my ride and almost lost my job. Very unprofessional. Now is 11:13 and still sitting in same spot as 8:05am.
I have used Uber in New York City for years, and my experience has mostly been bad. The technology is great, but the drivers, eh, about 75% of them are awful. Why?
+ They don't look up from their GPS. In some parts of New York, GPS is not reliable, because the streets are narrow and not on a grid always, and I have literally seen drivers go around the same block twice before they realized there was an error in their directions.
+ Some drivers pride themselves on going fast. One who claimed he knew a short cut took 30 minutes more than GPS estimated. A couple have run stop signs.
+ Some drivers get so high on being able to choose their passengers that they will even reject a ride after they've accepted it and see you or your cargo.
+ Though you can call or message your driver, they rarely respond, and if they do, they often don't speak English.
I recommend you pay a lot of attention to a driver's reviews when one agrees to pick you up. You can always cancel the trip before he or she arrives.
Me and my wife took a trip to New York in September and we used Uber a few times. After returning home we both deleted the app, however my wife forgot to delete my credit off her account before removing the app from her phone. Then I see a $10 charge every month on the 24th starting in November when neither of us are currently using it and in no way shape or form did we subscribe or sign up for anything. So I call them and get the WORST customer service in the world. I scheduled 2 callbacks that never happened and then the 3rd person I talked to hung up on me after he explained that customer support is primarily for drivers so he can't help me.
So I email them and explain that they have charged my card for the last 4 months WRONGFULLY and they tell me that it's essentially my fault and they refused to refund me. Uber's customer service is horrible and they literally charged my card for 4 months when neither me or my wife even had the app on our phones. Extremely unprofessional staff who literally can see they have charged me for NOTHING for four months in a row and then refuse to give me a refund. This experience has made me so upset that I have created accounts on this website as well as Yelp just so I can write about my experience.
Bought an Uber gift card so as to get home after a long day. Went into the Uber app to apply it and it had no place to add a gift card after choosing that option. Called and of course you can’t get hold of anyone. Eventually found a number, called repeatedly, trying to have them resolve the issue. Wow has customer service gone down in the past 10 years! No help at all. So had to buy a Visa gift card to use to get home. Called when I got home and asked Uber to either refund the gift card, or put the money back on the Visa card as I shouldn’t have to have gone and gotten a Visa gift card. I purchased an Uber gift card and Uber’s fraudulent app, had no way to add it on. I even sent them screenshots upon their request.
Long story short, after spending 6 hours on this issue, they have refused, even after their useless customer service people kept lying about solutions and couldn’t help. I have asked a lawyer as of today to begin the process for a lawsuit against Uber for fraud/theft! A minority kid steals $20 from a store in a city, that kid goes to jail, but if you’re a corporation owned by the “right” you have a license to steal apparently! So a warning about Uber’s gift cards. They are fraudulent and a scam! Don’t say that you weren’t warned. The Uber app doesn’t have a button after clicking on “Wallet” to add their so called gift card! I’m going to make an example of these hucksters!
I was charge for a Uber pass I never agree on (it was slipped into a promotional deal where it wasn't clear what I was agreeing to unless I read the fine print ). I have been paying $25 a Since March 2021, which is a lot, (total:$460) and it was almost impossible to cancel it, Not phone number, also the membership was not show in the app, well is hidden. You can only realize that they are charging by checking your bank account. There was no option to cancel the subscription on the app .Horrible app, SCAM. It is ridiculous that we cannot speak to a human.
I went and I bought an Uber card. I opened up an Uber account which they let me put the card on there. I went to schedule a ride then they asked me for my driver's license. If I had a driver's license I would not need an Uber to take me somewhere. Now they're keeping the money. They will not give it back to me and I cannot use Uber so I figured well Uber is Uber eats so then I figured I would just go ahead and do Uber eats. You cannot transfer the money. They're thieves. They keep your money.
In order to prove your identity you have to have a driver's license or you have to give them the name of your bank and your bank account number. They're saying it's for safety reasons. Look on their website. You can give a friend a ride. How is that for safety. There's no way it can be fraud on anybody's account because we're the ones that pay for the card to put the pin in there so we're paying the money yet they're keeping the money unless you give them your driver's license, everything on your driver's license or your full bank account number and the bank name. This is fraud on their behalf. They're doing it to everyone. I want my money back.
I had somehow signed up for an Uber pass, which I don't even remember doing and think it was slipped into a promotional deal where it wasn't clear what I was agreeing to unless I read the fine print that's 7 pages long. I have been paying $25 a month unknowingly, which is a lot, for the past YEAR at least, since that was the last time I had used the app. That is at least $300 taken out of my account and there wasn't even an easy way to cancel it. There is no customer service line that is easy to find and when I did find a number they said they couldn't help me because they were for drivers. I asked if I could get some help since there was no option to cancel the subscription on the app and the representative just rambled so I was unable to understand her and it was very clear she did not care. Horrible experience, horrible app, use Lyft instead.
I hired Uber. The customer service was unsatisfactory, but when I got online to complain there was just preset options that make Uber look good. What if I had got robbed or raped? Uber scares me. Wow!
Despite Uber confirming our scheduled pick up at the night before, And the app telling us the pick up was imminent for 15 minutes, no one arrived and the app ultimately said no one was available. Very disappointing And late for the airport.
Uber service is OVERCHARGING automatically to your credit card with so called “WAITING CHARGE BY 75% of DRIVERS“ ..! I was in Oahu, Hawaii, literally used Uber service as I had less options of rental vehicles! Used Uber service and billed me over their initial charge saying “The drivers waiting charge“ Oahu, Hawaii is literally a No idea place for typical vacationers & is Not familiar with locations and with Uber maps to drop a pin for your current location! In fact if the driver is confirmed to pick up,.. you’ll have search for the driver in an unfamiliar location! Those search for the driver in an unfamiliar place (with No Grace period) is so called “WAITING CHARGE BY YOUR DRIVER” and is automatically billed to your credit card! Unacceptable & Unbelievable! Used Uber Service & decided NOT to use Uber again! Deserve only 1 star!
An Uber driver located in San Diego came to a hotel to drive me to the airport. When he arrived at the hotel, he precipitously changed his mind and left. I ultimately found a conventional taxi at double the cost and almost missed my flight. Uber provides minimal recourse, responding with a standardized online response that did not address my concerns.
This was the 1st time being away from my home and relied on UBER service on my vacation in Waikiki, Honolulu and needed multiple occasions with UBER SERVICE! And literally noted customers were overcharged for unnecessary waiting time! And at another instance raised fare by 25% for the same journey just moments later! Will not use UBER app in future!
It is ridiculous that we cannot as a rider speak to a human. I don't understand why there is not a phone number for us to reach Uber as riders. Uber is overcharging people to make a simple stop to get cigarettes when I spend so much money in the past 6 months to ride.
Wow, where do I start. After using Uber for the past 5 years. I’ve had countless drivers speed off on me & my boyfriend. The final straw we were leaving a music festival & had walked far away from the grounds to get an Uber. The driver called us ** and sped off. We reported it & they literally didn’t do ANYTHING. No calls. No apologies. No credit. UBER doesn’t care about your safety. Please use LYFT instead… it seems mildly safer.
On 01/29/2022 I used Uber to go to Lowe's Food grocery store. When the driver took me home he left before I could get all my groceries out and I had to call him to return my items. Uber is trying to charge me an Lost Item fee and refuses to understand that the driver was at fault. As luck would have it I can turn my card off and on so I will never pay the fee and I will never use Uber again. I`m on Disability and every dollar is taking away money I need for other things.
From the beginning I thought Uber was a good deal, they offered me a promotion for $35 off any order over $1. So I spent a good amount of time shopping. When I came to check out, I entered my billing information and when I selected, pay, it took me to a verify person platform with Facebook that was brought me to "cannot go any further login page" it would not let me complete my order. The whole coupon was just a scam. Their platform is intentionally errored so that they waste your time and business with other companies. I would never recommend UBER to anyone EVER AGAIN. This is my first shopping experience with them which is why I was eligible for this scam!
I just had a driver who could not read or speak any English. When there was a problem with the app there was no way to communicate with him. I find that absurd. I had to figure out how to correct the driver through the app. When I left pick up instructions he was unable to follow them. Overall a terrible experience
I first signed up for Uber with a promotion that guaranteed earnings of 2600 in your first 200 trips. I called in after about 50 trips because I was concerned about a situation where I would complete the 200 trips and would not receive the money I was owed. The associate confirmed that everything was good and that I had the promotion. I spoke with my girlfriend and she urged me to get it in writing so I contacted uber again to have a message sent to me saying that I specifically had the promotion and to list the terms. I was assured that it was based off of trips and there was no time limit.
After finishing the 200 trips I contacted uber because unlike other promotions I was not paid immediately. A gentleman said he did not see the promotion at first, then confirmed the promotion, but told me that the promotion would pay me when the promotion ended.... this did not make sense since it was based off of trips not time. He requested more information as a reply to his message so I had to send him make, model and license information then call back. I called back and a woman confirmed she saw the promotion and that I would just have to wait 3-5 days for this type of promotion. I waited and did not hear back and was not paid so I contacted Uber again and was supposed to be contacted by a specialist. I received a reply that said that I was no longer eligible for the promotion because I earned more than the $2600 guaranteed. This was completely wrong because I have only earned a little over $1600.
I called back again and was informed that a specialist would call me. I received no call. I called back again days later and explained the entire situation for an hour to an associate who was supposed to transfer me directly to a specialist. I got the trips department. They then transferred me to an accounts and promotions agent who needed me to send her more information because she didnt see the promotion. I sent it in and she said it was possible that she could call me back but couldn’t guarantee. No call back so I called in again and spoke with a new agent. He said that he couldn’t do anything because the promotion I signed up for said that I had to be signed up “by January 2022”. We could not come to an agreement as to what by January 2022 meant. Obviously it means that you have to sign up before or on this date, not after as he was trying to explain.
I was told that I would be called by a specialist and I instead received a message in the app by someone who clearly is not getting the full picture. I would like to clean this up and continue to work with Uber, but I cannot continue until this is resolved. I will attach the promotion that I signed up with and I plead that you go back and review the messages I have received in order to understand that I was assured and promised that I was enrolled in this promotion.
On several occasions my Uber trip to work was canceled due to drivers not wanting to take a trip to New York City. I think it’s unfair to customers and also unfair to the drivers not being able to pick up passengers and neighboring states such as New York and New Jersey. I strongly believe that this policy for Uber should change so that everyone can be happy. I spent over $600 a week on Uber and to be unable to get satisfactory transportation or communication from Uber staff and Uber driver is unacceptable.
I use Uber all the time. You used to be able to call and get someone on the phone right away. Now it's impossible to even find the help/chat option in the app. Ordered a ride for my sister. Quoted a price. Driver accepted. Picked her up. Took her to her location. I get a receipt for almost 2x the price plus all kinds of fees and 2 tolls (which were more than the price of the actual toll).
1st rep. Refunding me the difference. Get an email receipt. Not refunded the right amount. Write Uber back.
2nd rep. "We'll fix it. But the driver said you entered the wrong info and that's why the price was higher." No I did not. Write back to them again saying, "Thanks for fixing it but your driver is lying."
3rd rep. "You can't get a refund cuz of tolls and fees." Tries to send me Uber's refund policy. I read uber's terms and the price you are quoted in the price - it INCLUDES those fees/tolls. No response to me about how the driver was deceptive but ok. Credit card shows all kinds of refunds then recharges.
Get an email w/ the supposed price adjustment but it says to adjust my credit card because it can't be charged back - there is an error. There was nothing wrong w/ my card when you charged it.
I recently had to deliver my auto to the shop so, while at dinner the night before my appointment I downloaded the Uber App to my Android Cell phone. It's the most awful app experience I think I've ever had. It started out with a world map displaying Africa and no instructions. So, I tried to zoom in to the pickup location. It wouldn't let me select a location. So, I went out of the app and found the location. When I came back into the app Africa was once again displayed. I pasted the location into the text area. The app immediately changed the location I had pasted in to someplace several miles away. I pasted it again and this time it took or so I thought. So, I proceeded and entered a pickup time a few minutes into the future. Then the pickup time changed to about 2 hours in the future.
Frustrated I drove the vehicle to the shop as the waitress said it may work better if I were at the pickup location. So once there I tried again. Finally, I thought I had it finished so I hit Done. When I hit that the price exploded to 3 times the original quote. So at that point, I abandoned the app and found a ride elsewhere. There was never any indication a driver would be sent. Once I was home about 2 hours after I had installed the app. My phone rings and it's an uber driver. He says "you called an Uber?" I said I tried to earlier. He said, "Well you're going to be charged for the ride." I hung up and got on the computer to complain.
The Uber website is much better than the App. I was able to obtain an in-store credit once I found the right sequence. But I wasn't interested in credit. I wanted a bank reversal of the charges. So, I immediately deleted my account and will never use the Uber app or call an Uber again. I'm probably liable for the 7.50 cancellation fee I was never told I would incur but was charged just because I had installed the awful Uber app. Won't make that mistake again.!
2 months ago customer service said they would be in contact with me. Not one response back. It seems I can’t use my credit cards which I have used for the last few years with them. I am Platinum member and that means nothing. Customer service and founder of this app should be embarrassed with how crappy their company is. Founder doesn’t care as long as his wallet is fat. He deserves the same treatment people like me get. What a joke.
I was trying to call for an Uber to take me to Montreal airport. I had used the Uber Eats app often but not the rider app because I had been warned in London by a taxi driver not to use Uber. I called the Uber. I got a response from someone named Gazzam. He then proceeded to ask me for verification and I asked Uber for a code. The driver then terminated my proposed ride and within minutes I got 11 messages in my email account thanking me for what amounted to $2200.00 worth of gift cards. I called my bank during all of this and cancelled my much needed credit card. There was no Uber customer service to call so I contacted them by email. They have promised to refund any money lost but I cannot even get into my "hacked" account to delete my app. RIDER BEWARE!!! The one star is for the eventual customer service!
Have you realized that Uber actually doesn't have customer service. Yes, there is Uber help online who just send you automatic messages. No one to actually talk to! We took Uber in Miami, our first time there, driver dropped us at the wrong location, we were wondering around for 30 min and missed our tour time because of him! Can you believe that I was not able to get refund for this?? All I got is this: "We've noted your feedback, sorry for the inconvenience." SO drivers actually allowed to drop you at the wrong place without any consequence. I tried few times, same response! I disputed the charge with the credit card and will sure hold off on Uber for a long time... Get real customer service in place!
I scheduled a ride to the hospital for a procedure the night before my surgery. Kossi, driving a Toyota Highlander was scheduled to arrive at 06:15 AM EST with a drop off time of 06:25. The hospital is about 2 miles from my house. Kossi was 3 miles from my house when I was notified he was on his way. Instead he got a better fare to pick someone up from Dulles Airport about 25 miles from my home. Instead of picking me up on time & dropping me off on time he went out to Dulles Airport. I messaged him in the app, which said he read the text, & I called several times with no answer. He sat at Dulles for over 45 minutes before he cancelled the trip. I tried to cancel but was told I would have to pay a cancellation fee based on where Kossi was in his route to me.
Eventually Kossi cancelled on his end & I was redirected to another driver who was prompt. However, I was over 1-1/2 hours late for my surgery and it wound up costing me an extra 9 hours at the hospital! There was no way to contact customer service or support either by phone, chat or text. It was the WORSE experience I EVER had with Uber & WILL NEVER USE UBER AGAIN!!! Be aware if you get Kossi in Northern VA, DC or MD in a Toyota Highlander or any other vehicle I would cancel immediately as he is unreliable & if he gets a better gig he will leave you hanging.
If I could give Uber 0 stars I would! Absolutely the worst customer service as there is not even a way to file a complaint unless it is safety related. So That is how I filed my complaint. The only response I got from Uber was, "Please tell us the details & we are sorry for the inconvenience." They did nothing to understand how significant the impact was to my day nor did they offer any relief. Stay AWAY from Kossi & Uber especially if you need to get somewhere in a timely fashion. Uber has no monitoring of driver performance & the whole problem could have easily been avoided if the trip was handed off to another driver in an expeditious manner!
1st trip I got charged $15. The 2nd trip $40. This is ridiculous abuse. Same distance, same ride type. I have Been using Uber service for more than 3 years now and always always gets charged between $15/$20 going to same place.
The driver was on time. I entered the car, masked as required, and was instantly engulfed in the overwhelming lived-in scent of the SUV, its unkemptness on display - many bits of debris, stains, and so on. No worries, I figured that with such a large vehicle he gets his share of transporting unruly kids, probably pets, and who knows what else with little time to clean. I would be in the vehicle less than 10 minutes anyway to pick up my own car. But, the driver!
1. Attitude: Could he have thought he was picking up a celebrity, perhaps his favorite? I wasn't what he was expecting and in an insulting manner, he made his disappointment obvious. Or, I’ve noticed reviews where drivers simply turn around and leave without waiting if they don’t immediately see anyone at the pickup spot. Could he have been expecting such an opportunity?
2. Driving: In moving traffic he gets up too close behind other vehicles at fast speeds and habitually brakes. No problem that he uses his brakes but it was a horrible experience for us moving in seemingly unmodified speed toward the back of a car that either had already stopped or significantly slowed. One time a gap in traffic allowed him to quickly switch lanes as he seemed to have an aversion to stopping at what looked like a near-miss. He is obviously skilled at driving like that but a vicarious experience of an amusement park ride was not what I ordered.
3. I give tips easily, and generously. The driver was there on time and he was going to drop me off where I needed to be and that was enough for me. Then when I tried to move forward, the Uber app on my device indicated it hadn't yet gathered the trip information: Ok - the trip wasn't completed. When the driver pulled into and stopped at the drop-off spot just off the main road, I asked him how the pay works. He brushed me off - tone and hand gestures in sync, 'just take care of it later,' while staring down into what seems like his next pickup info. He really motivated me to reassess my tipping practices.
My wife made it home, stinking drunk. Thankfully she is safe. She ordered an Uber ride. Apparently one was available 5 minutes away and then was canceled by the driver. The credit card my wife was using was pre-billed the amount of the ride, and then a second time so the card had over $100.00 pre-authorized and a 3rd attempt was no longer an option. She was not able to stay at the place she was at and had to leave. The only option was to freeze overnight outside in our vehicle or take the chance to drive home. She chose the latter. Thanks, Uber for taking the ability for my wife to obtain a safe ride home.
This job is all hype. They talk a great game about 'Community' and the 'Sharing Economy'. This is sharing: You get the liability and abuse, they get the money.
I know you think you can beat the system. Good luck. This job is ** for the desperate. And BTW.... those numbers they flash about bonuses and earning potential....there are lots of caveats AND they've realistically cut pay in HALF over the last year. After Gas and Maintenance, you will make less than you would at Starbucks, and not get the benefits that Starbucks guarantees. I implore you to make a better decision than to work for this new age tech sweat shop. Stay away. Friendly warning. Just stay away. THIS JOB WILL SUCK YOU DRY OF ENERGY, TIME AND MONEY AND LEAVE YOU EMPTY HANDED! From the bonuses to the driver incentives that are offered, it's all a scam. You will regret doing this job. I guarantee it.
Uber sucks. I’m left stranded while my ride drives away and leaves me. Now I’m waiting with no more money to get another one. Uber says they will get me going soon but I don’t think so. I feel they're lying.
Driver could not find me, ask my location and then told me I would have to recall and reschedule. Then I was charged a cancellation fee but I never canceled. Never again Uber. Very unsatisfied and about impossible to reach somebody over the phone to dispute charges, now I have to go to the bank to dispute them and find a new ride service. Thanks Uber for the best, not!
I took an Uber on Dec 26, 2021 at night on the JFK. The driver loaded his trunk with my luggages and some liquor and cigars I bought on the airport. He dropped me off on my location and I noticed that my liquor and cigars were missing. I contacted the Uber driver immediately and he said he had a passenger at the moment to call him back in 30 minutes. When I called him back he said that he still was driving his passenger that he was going to call me back as soon as he dropped off the passenger. He called me to tell me that my items were not in the car and that he was not responsible, to file a complaint with Uber which I did and they also said they are not responsible for any missing items. I know I left it in his car and I know he saw it but since it was worth $357 he refused it to return it. Uber needs to implement a policy where his customers can be compensated if something like this happens.
My son cooked their own Christmas dinner and as in the past, he packaged up some of everything for me, his mother. The food never arrived. The driver claims he took it to the correct address. He was driving a smallish light coloured car when he left my son's house with the turkey dinner. My son has the license number of his car. I received an email from Uber that a parcel was on its way to me. It never came. Today he claimed that he delivered to the right address. Uber says it will follow up with the driver. I wonder! They have refunded the fee to my son. There are still a lot of unanswered questions. The parcel was correctly addressed. Where did it go?
Uber you're not that great as it is, you Keep upping your price like you just did. You're gonna lose way more customers than just me. Prepare to lose millions, these days a few extra more dollars is more than a lot can afford. It's a struggle and pandemic.
I took an Uber Saturday night (Dec 11th) from Downtown Toronto to the west end of Toronto which was around $40. I charged a cleaning fee of $170 plus paying for the ride and there are all these extras charges and now my Uber account is on hold saying I still owe $200 or so. I have called, email and messaged Uber and I get no helpful response just an automated system. I have also been locked out of my Uber app and the online Uber app.
If you live in the DMV area, make sure you DON’T have Tanasha as your Uber driver. What should’ve been a $17 trip became a $102 trip. My friend (22 F) and I (23 F) were trying to get back home from the bar at around 10pm last night. We called an Uber because we know better than to drink and drive. Tanasha got assigned to us and we waited for his arrival. Upon getting in his car, he didn’t greet us or acknowledge our presence. I figured he was having a bad night, so my friend and I sat in the car quietly. My friend was very tired and had her head in her lap. Tanasha started accusing her of puking in his car. My friend was tired, but not puking. I tried to tell him this, but he got overly angry at me. He then proceeded to pullover on the side of the highway, walk over to my friends door, and yell at her to get out. She refused because we were on the side of the highway late at night. I was scared and quietly prayed that he’d just let it go and continue driving.
We were only 10min away. Nothing was said for the rest of the ride until the end. That’s when he got out of his car again and checked to make sure there was no mess of my friend’s side. When I asked him if everything was fine, he said it was, but then attempted to coerce me into giving him a cash tip. I had no cash so I told him no. The next day I found out he told Uber we made a mess in his car and that we cancelled our trip on him. Obviously, I didn’t cancel the trip because we arrived at our destination. I believe he told Uber that it got cancelled so I couldn’t leave a bad review of him and expose his unprofessional and threatening behavior. I already contacted Uber and my bank to file a report. But I felt like someone needed to hear my story. Maybe I can spare some one else from having to go through something similar.
Every Sunday I schedule an Uber ride as to not be late for work. I thought this was a great option and accommodation add on to the business. Well, not so much as recently within the last three months Uber will schedule a ride only to cancel it at the last possible hour causing my son to be late for work. I would like to file a formal complaint as to be compensated for these losses. A class action lawsuit needs to be brought up against UBER! I’m going to seek it.
I just got an email from you that I did not wear a mask. It is obvious that the driver has lied. I would like to get my $3.00 tip back. He picked me up at a car repair shop and I actually asked my mechanic for a mask because I did not have one. He gave it to me and I put it on. The driver should have refused to give me a ride if I was not wearing one and now he is saying I did NOT WEAR ONE?!?! It is ridiculous. I would like to report that the driver was a liar and get either my tip back or the whole payment back because he lied. It is totally unacceptable. Please respond to me with your decision ASAP. The driver's name is Wesley and he was driving his noisy Honda Civic.
Where do I even start? They treat the drivers like slaves. They spent an outrageous amount of money on Prop 22 in California. Congrats, it passed! Now you can continue to screw over your drivers. They falsely advertise promo codes. I redeemed a promo code for $15 off. Nowhere did it say that it was only valid in New Mexico. In fact, it says that it is valid in the United States. But when I took a trip, it didn't work, and now they won't give me a refund despite it being THEIR fault that their promotions are falsely advertising. This is just one of the greediest companies there is, and it's hurting drivers, customers, and not to mention the environment. Potentially one of the most dangerous businesses in the history of the world.
I confirmed an estimate from the Boise airport to my home of $10.99. I was charged $24.00. There was no traffic or delays. There is no way to dispute this. You cannot speak to a live person or email with a specific problem. There is zero customer service, it is all automated.
I have taken many Uber rides since having been vaccinated for COVID. All drivers have recently shared my opinion that if vaccinated, a mask is unnecessary. Until now. I called for an Uber and did not have a mask. When I got into the car I was asked to put on a mask. When I said I didn't have one, the driver looked distressed. I offered to call another car or walk. He said "No, I'll take you." I did not know he would report me and now I am required to send a picture of myself wearing a mask when I call for a ride. "Let's go Brandon!" Lyft will now be the only company I use. Next time a driver complains about not having a mask I suggest that you just get out and call for another. Oh yeah, leave that guy/gal a bad review.
First off, full disclosure: my family and I have been fully vaccinated since spring 2021, but we still wear masks everywhere--have multiple colors and styles even. Now to the review. My driver Manoj cancelled my ride at Dallas Love Field Airport without ever stopping. He had been messaging me fine before that ("hello, where are you", etc.), but when he arrived he DID NOT ever slow down--I saw his New York tags and started running but neither I nor my mother (fellow rider) could wave him down.
Just to be clear, we were BOTH wearing masks and had been the whole time (3 hour flight from Florida and all day beforehand), but he apparently reported that we were not when cancelling the ride! There is no way he even saw our masks because he never slowed down to see that they were purple and red with plaid. I will be complaining further because I believe it was racially motivated--the ONLY thing he could have seen of me would be my profile picture because he did not ever stop at the station 4 terminal.
I regret working for this company. I was arrested falsely accused and the charges were dropped. Not one single representative I can get on the phone and talk to because my account is not able to speak to a live representative. I used to make $5,000 a month with Uber and had a 100% delivery driver rating as well as great feedback and comments. I was probably one of the highest earners Uber has ever had. The case has been dropped for 3 months and Uber has failed to do anything about giving me my job back with them.
At this point I don’t give a **. I don’t want to work for a company with stupid Customer service representatives. I dreaded calling them when I did deliveries because they could barely understand what I was saying. They al have accents. If they can’t understand me, how are they going to understand my situation to help me? THEY CAN'T. I’ve been let down more than once by this company. It’s sad because I was making a lot of money but I know I deserved better that’s why I gave up. I hope they take it as constructive criticism because they need to make a lot of improvements.
Uber and Lyft charged me thousands of dollars without giving me rides. Many times I was charged by Uber and Lyft thousands of dollars without giving me rides. Uber and Lyft Drivers have no morals or ethics and left me stranded in some God awful neighborhoods while charging me for rides. Shame on Uber and Lyft!!!!
Quoted the usual Uber price of $32 from PSP to Palm Desert. Couldn’t get website to book so waited until I arrived an hour later. Was then quoted $89. (The Curb side taxi was $50.00) but used the Uber app. I was charged $118. And asked to rate my experience. Just got a royal rip off.
Two stars because Daniel was a good driver. But he talks nonstop. Told him a shorter way to go home and he kept wanting to turn when it was a straight away for about 5 miles. Not a great experience. Wanted to get some things out of my cell phone. Could not. They were almost home. I've had my mask on the whole time. He didn't. It tells me he doesn't believe in the shot and three of his relatives just passed away. Please do not send out drivers without mask when your website the state's driver and passenger bus for masks.
I've been in a lot of trouble with Uber drivers lately. They don't know where we are and they cancel our trip but we are the one to pay for the cancelation. Why doesn’t Uber pay us for the negligence? Uber charges us for wait Time because their driver couldn’t find us. Also Uber created tons of fees like tolls, Surcharges, booking fee, Municipal regulation, Linha Amarela and NY ** Car Fund. What do I have to do with the ** car Fund? That's an abuse of power. I also suggest that Uber drivers needs better training, because we're not millionaires. Most of the time, when I call for a ride I visual the price but when Uber send me the receipt it is a totally different amount. What is that?
Last week, in Brazil, the first driver confirmed ride drove away and cancelled me. The 2nd ride did the same because he did want to go to the area where I live and he never found where I was in the airport, though is easy to find. He drove in circles to end up cancelling my trip. My latest trip cost, it was $48.00 but end up cost me $64.31 because of abusive new fees that just push up prices. Like a wait time fee even though I was exactly where I told the driver. What a fee on top of charge for booking the ride. Wtf!!!!
If Uber is going to pat themselves on the back in the media for doing good, maybe people should be aware about what is really happening. I am complaint as a customer but even Uber drivers themselves have made tons of complaints against the company abuse of power. I've talked to them about this abuse and they tell me that they also suffer from the abuse of power. Some of them have not been able to "Instant Deposit" earnings on time. They call Uber operators who have give them their best idea on how to fix. No access to supervisor available, although they promises to call back but never happens. So, drivers cannot get one single person who can help them.

Uber software not providing drivers with crucial information. It took me 40 minutes to travel 1 mile. First driver gave up and charged us. Second driver gave up. Third driver was smart enough to figure things out. No way to get in touch with humans. White collar criminals! Avoid this company at all costs!!!
The first confirmed ride drove away and cancelled us. The 2nd ride was great, but we then received feedback that we had not worn a mask, which was false. Since our 2nd ride was quite pleasant, and received a good rating and tip I doubted that the comment came from him. I contacted the company, explained that we had just left a medical facility where we had been properly masked as was the nurse who was assisting us at the time. I asked that the comment be deleted from my account. They assured me no action would result and I could still use the service but would not remove the remarks. I doubt that I will use their service in the future. It appeared that the no-mask comment had come from someone we’d never heard of, not from the driver, whose name is on our receipt.
Uber still trying to force masks on free people and employees, vaccinated or not. Disgusting. When will a Freedom-loving non-fascist company start-up and put Uber out of business once and for all? I can't wait for that day.
I was quoted $55.23 to go to airport. The driver arrived 10 minutes early. Easy drive to airport Charged $68.97. Worst company ever. NO phone number, no email. No good reviews ever. Last time I use Uber. I'll try Lyft. Consumer beware.
Awful support, they give the same generic message over the phone after waiting for 20 minutes or through the Uber support messages on the driver app. Background took over 70 days to clear. Got an unlawful review from a passenger for being under the insurance, account was paused for over a week with no warning. Said they did their investigation and deactivated my account and still several days have passed and no one is able to help me. They all say the same thing again and again. Looks ok on their side. If you are thinking about driving for Uber then think twice. It is unreliable.
I called an Uber in Sunrise Fl for a 3.5 mile ride. He never found the address I gave him even though is easy to find. I've driven there before. He drove in circles for an hour. He verbally assaulted me, was driving in the most reckless way veering between lanes, texting while coming to a complete stop in the middle of the road! Driving between lanes. He was verbally abusive too and ending up dropping me off in the middle of nowhere. Then he up the charge to 36.00 from an 11.00 dollar original fee for 3.5 miles. But he never got me to.my destination.
Uber has many issues. I have had to use them regularly for the past two weeks, and these are the issues I’ve encountered:
1. Their app changes the addresses entered. Every time I enter my home address, my neighbor’s address across the street will appear on my receipts. I hardly know those neighbors and have never used their address for anything. Every time I enter my work address, my drivers are directed to another nearby address. I have had to redirect all of my drivers who picked me up from work.
2. Whenever a driver has cancelled a trip, Uber charged ME a cancellation fee. One driver cancelled before arrival, of which I didn’t become aware until I checked status. I had to request another ride, which made me late for work.
3. I have been charged for a trip that I did not request, and did not take. The same driver who cancelled a ride with me before arrival, is named for this trip at a destination location that I don’t even recognize.
4. Have had to make multiple requests for refunds for driver cancellations and trips that I was billed for, but didn’t request. Even with screenshots of the transactions from my bank account and the cancelled status from the app, they still don’t refund after the first request.
5. Contacting them to resolve an issue is difficult. There is no phone number or email address for them. When an issue is reported through the app, a response comes from a ‘no reply’ email address.
6. When messaging drivers to give them critical information about location, most don’t reply.
7. The app prefills the pick-up address, often a wrong/unknown one.
8. Changing the prefilled address is a nuisance because when clicking on the address shown to type over it, it gets confirmed. It takes repeated attempts to clear that field.
Hopefully I will be free of them by the weekend. They are a huge headache!
My upfront price was shown at $49.79. After I accepted the ride from MCI to my home near Kansas City I looked at my phone and received a message that I was being charged $100 for the ride. Of course you can not just call Uber and their help system is a joke. I have since removed uber from my phone and will only use Lyft and local taxis from here out
I booked an Uber ride with Regina. My trip cost to be $24. Ride 7 miles in Philadelphia. She got lost. Couldn’t follow Waze accurately. We ended up in New Jersey. I finally pulled out my phone and give her directions. Final cost $55. She said she would resolve. Of course she didn’t. Impossible to contact Uber. Will end up disputing my charge. Never again Uber.
I was being charged for trips I didn't make. I tried many ways to contact the company but could not find a phone number or email. Feels like they just want to take your money and don't want to provide customer service.
Driver discriminated towards my son bc of his color and hair!! I use this service daily due to not having reliable transportation. I am disgusted that my son has to experience this type of service. He was late to school because of this driver nasty attitude and racism. Drivers like this should NOT be able to work in this environment is he/she can't tolerate people of color! I also had to pay a cancellation fee which was double the price to get to school. I am a single mom just getting by!!! Cancellation fee and nasty service was not in the agenda for today. UBER has really scared my son and my POCKETS!! I want justice and for everyone to know make sure you report drivers line this!
See a few new fees that just push up prices. Like a wait time fee even though I was standing outside and a booking fee. What a fee on top of charge for booking the ride. Wtf!!!! Then I schedule a ride and twice they don’t show up. Uber gave me back my money but ** stressful.
I attempted to setup an ‘Uber For Business’ account for a new business venture I recently launched. The sign-up process was easy enough, but a few days later when I inquired on the status of my account, I was told by Uber the account was suspended and please refer to the Terms and Conditions. I asked for an explanation as to the specific violation, but the response I received was: ‘we were advised not to disclose the specific reason as to why the business account was deactivated, however, they’ve found out that the account can’t be reactivated because it doesn’t adhere with our Terms and Conditions.” The response received from Uber demonstrates a lack of transparency, professionalism and basic customer service.
This review pertains only to the Uber app. When you are booking your ride with Uber, be wary of the error message, "Oops! Something went wrong. Try again in a few moments." I tried again and again and again and Uber charged me for all (or many) of my failed attempts! It was thanks to my credit card company (shout out to Citibank/Costco) for alerting me that this was happening. Unfortunately, Citibank could not stop the bogus charges and now I have to file a billing dispute with Uber! Ugh! Buyer, beware!
Uber has twice charged me for something I didn’t ask for and getting in contact with them over an issue like this is impossible. First incident they started charging me a monthly fee for a device I didn’t ask for. I finally had my bank stop paying the monthly charge, that was a hassle. Most recent I got a text saying my driver was on the way for a scheduled pickup, I looked on the Uber app nothing showed as to me having a scheduled trip. Later a driver called asking where I was, I told him I didn’t order a ride, he canceled and charged me $29.42 for canceling a ride I didn’t order. It’s impossible to get ahold of them to straighten out an issue where they may have to refund you. Word of advice don’t ever give the cc info. Call a taxi.
If Uber is going to pat themselves on the back in the media for doing good, maybe people should be aware of whose backs they are taking money from. On Sept 20th I awoke to a news story about Uber providing discounted rides to polling stations during the Canadian election. And while this sounds all warm and fuzzy and delightful, we quickly realized who is paying for it.
My husband uses Uber very frequently to get to work, almost daily. The fare is usually about 14 bucks. This morning, he was quoted a fare of 37. 01 for the same ride to the same destination at the same time as usual. Today is also the day of the month when many young families get child tax credits from the government. Uber does this every month on this date. And while I have not received a baby bonus in about a gazillion years, I still find it disgusting that Uber also extorts money from some of their poorest customers in this way. I don't mind paying a couple extra bucks during busy times but three times the amount is simply predatory and exploitative. They call it "surge pricing". I call it a damned good way to lose customers, especially in a city that already has a cab company!
Updated on 09/22/2021: Critical scheduled pickup for 03:20 a.m. on Aug 31 for only flight - Driver failed to show - cancelled last minute with no explanation at 02:50 a.m. - forcing family to drive to airport and park - Planned trip included 15 days to help family move - and support Covid family member loss. No excuse - and response from Uber via text on Sep 22, is that they could review the case "because it was greater than 30 days out" - which is a lie. Shame on them. The cost for parking was $20/day or $300 less gas to get there. Was the driver too lazy to wake up? Uber does not care for its customers, period.
Original Review: Dear Uber Driver, On Aug 28, 2021 we successfully scheduled an Uber pick-up from our home to the John Wayne Airport. My wife and I had a critical family trip planned from Aug 31 returning Sep 14. There was a family member that had moved and there was a loss of another family member. Our trip was critical to provide family support. Our flight options were limited to an early morning flight on Aug 31 with boarding time at 06:10 a.m. as attached (2). This was the only American flight to Chicago. We had received an Uber confirmation of our pickup on Aug 28. But on the morning of scheduled pickup (Aug 31) we received a text message at 02:50 a.m. from the Uber driver stating that the 03:20 a.m. pickup was cancelled because he couldn’t accept the payment ($53.30). We had both cash and credit cards available to pay the driver, but could not reach him.
Because there was only one flight that day, we could not adjust our travel without significant hotel/flight and rental charges. We were forced to drive our POV to the airport and park there. John Wayne Airport parking alone cost us a total of $300. Although I asked for a discount, the airport does not offer any. This entire situation was outrageous for a senior, retrieved military disabled veteran on a fixed income. My thoughts were that the Uber driver did not want to get out of bed that early. He did not call, but only sent a text. Why did he only notify us 30 minutes prior to the scheduled pickup time? I am very sad that your drivers are so irresponsible. We should be reimbursed the $300 parking fee. Request that Uber stand behind its promises.
I received a business voucher for an Uber trip to take to an event. I clicked on using the voucher however they wanted to charge my card first before using the voucher. I did so. Then they never applied my voucher so they said I’m out of luck. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Takes days to get a response. No phone call service or live chat. It all had to be done through email. Be aware and use other services.
I used to use UBER a lot and have nothing but great things to say about the drivers. HOWEVER... Uber is now soliciting donations for Afghan refugees coming to America. I draw the line at this. If UBER wants to donate corporate money, that is their choice. But PLEASE do not solicit funds from customers for an issue as divisive as immigration, legal or otherwise. I will be taking your competitor whenever possible now.
I've been driving for Uber for almost 3 years. Have not been able to "Instant Deposit" earnings for last month. Spoke to approximately 15-20 Uber operators who have each given me their best idea on how to fix. No access to supervisor although I've been told one would call me back 3 times to no avail. The problem is small and I believe I even know what it is, however I can not get one person who can help. The disconnect between drivers (I consider employees) and someone who has an iota of an idea of what is going on in a driver's world is so vast that I am considering no longer driving for Uber... I am super bummed about their inability to fix a small problem. Looks like Lyft is it from here on out...
I had one ride with Uber on August 27th, the driver was absolutely awesome so for an $18 ride I gave a $15 tip. However Uber decided to take 4 separate amounts out of my account adding up to over $100. It is impossible to call and speak to anyone unless you are in the UK, and when I tried to email with screenshots of the withdrawals they reply back stating they didn't get my response. I had to dispute the transactions with my bank because Uber is impossible. I had my rent bounce because of this and incurred numerous late charges. I will never use again.
ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE & MESS!!! I am facing multiple technical issues on my Driver App since weeks now. I have at least spoke to 35 different customer service rep. Which includes in written and via call. The Issue still persist. Every single person including supervisor threw their own ideas on issue. Still NOT fixed. All documents of mine as well as of car is up to date, verified and cleared but still can NOT go online since 3 weeks. Completely STUPID and unprofessionals attending the issues. You would laugh at the responses I have got in regards to my technical issues. UBER Must pay for issues caused from their end, as everything is fine on my end. And also have tried all UBER given troubleshooting steps. Shame on your customer service and your standards UBER!!
Insurance called Uber for post dental pick up stating it was urgent. Promised ride in 3 min. Took 45 min. (Waiting in HOT area with NO seating with NO alternatives.) Driver REPEATEDLY told me he was going to throw me out of his vehicle for no valid reason. Extremely abusive. Refused to turn off irritating music. NO courtesy whatsoever. Complained to Uber. NO RESPONSE.
I signed up for UBER a few months ago, never actually used it and yet I have been charged over $200 in fraudulent charges. This is isn't a case of someone steals card and racks up charges, this is a case of UBER stealing money. When I look into this company all you see is same thing over and over again. HOW ARE THESE PEOPLE GETTING AWAY WITH THIS? I even canceled my card AND THEY COME HOW GOT MY NEW CARD?!!? I had to issue a stop payment, cancel card AGAIN, dispute charges etc etc. I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS ** COMPANY.
On 4 Aug. I used Uber for an airport run. Two weeks later I returned and attempted to book Uber for a ride home. They said my credit card was expired. Same old card, good till 2025! This as they tried to increase price more than 100%! I called friends. 8/26 I booked Uber for ride to doctor app't, no problem. For return ride home my card is suddenly no good again! I booked Lyft w/o issue. I had similar issue at airport last January. Drivers were all fine. WHAT'S HAPPENED TO UBER?
I took a trip yesterday with Uber. My fare was $10.95, and I added a tip of $4.05 for a total of $15.00. When I checked my bank statement, I was charged $15.00 and the charged another $4.05. Uber denies this, saying I was only charged once, even though it is clearly recorded on my bank statement.
Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with Uber today. My fiancé and I forgot our masks in our hotel room. Upon entering the vehicle of the Uber driver, he requested and asked if we had masks. My fiancé responded that we did not & forgot ours but he would run to the front desk quick (1 minute) and would grab two for us and apologized. The Uber driver did not allow us to exit the car and started pulling off. He then started aggressively verbalizing that we need mask and of the reasons for it. We then told him again, before exiting the parking lot, that we could exit the car and cancel our trip. He would not allow us to exit. He verbally said with an aggressive tone “this is a general conversation. Stop talking & listen”. I did not take this well as it was an inappropriate conversation and the tone was set from the start of the trip. He then continued to harass us regarding the trip.
We made it known that we would like to exit the car immediately after he pulled out of the hotel parking lot. He sped over three lanes almost causing an accident and kicked us out of the car with inappropriate language and aggressiveness “Get out.”. We almost got hit getting out the car and then he almost hit us when he executed a UTURN while rolling down his window to scream at us. I immediately reported the entire situation to Uber support. Not only did they responded with saying that my concerns/comments are duly noted, they charged three dollars more the the fare price. The customer stopper team is the worst I’ve experienced in my lifetime. Not only does Uber support “suck”. Uber, the company, condones verbal harassment, endangerment to passengers, and aggressive driving.
