I have tried to reach out to Uber because there are some changes on my account for 9.99 every month since May and I tried calling and emailing but for some reason I can not get through. Every month on the 21st of each month there is a change that I did not approve. I have copies of each month. So please check your accounts. I might have to get a lawyer to resolve this matter. So please beware. Sincerely Susan

I had about a 40 minute ride with a driver who was making sharp turns, speeding, just car was freezing, and every window in his car was foggy except the windshield. I reported to Uber and they have automated bots who say the same thing over and over. The driver broke policy and they didn't offer a refund or a credit on my account and kept giving my dead end answers about restricting me from being paired with the driver but that is not enough. My money doesn't pay for low quality rides to work. They are greedy and money hungry.

I gave them one star but they don't deserve that. They have drivers who steal and lie. Drivers who are unable to communicate with rider. The quality of delivery is beyond disgusting. They had a driver leave with my items when I had two rides scheduled and it took almost six hours to get it back. I was Missing medicine and money. Uber then wanted to charge me $20 for the driver returning my property. You get incomplete orders, damaged orders and drivers sharing accounts. Uber cares about Uber and that's it. I ride 5-8 times a day and still get below par customer service. They let the agents end conversation in mid sentence.

It's weird when the driver or delivery person has this creepy smile that just stays there until you realize they can't understand a word of English and are not bilingual in any sense. I'm not sure how uncomfortable this is for the Uber Employee. I asked one driver where she was from, just as small talk, and she knew lots of curse words😆

I scheduled and took a ride from port in Alexandria to Cairo. All was fine until arrival at destination. Then driver asked for 4-digit code for me to complete trip. I received no 4-digit code from UBER to give to him. After working with driver for 20-30 minutes, I gave him cash so that I could get out of the car. When contacting Uber about the situation, I saw that my trip was marked as cancelled (I took the trip and did not cancel it). I assume that I had been scammed by driver so that he could get double paid for the trip. On 10/1/2025, I contacted UBER with my concern. After repeatedly asking UBER Support for a response, they closed my request on 11/8/2025 with no explanation. Probably so the outsourced call center could show no outstanding issues over 30 days.
This appears to be an issue with UBER InterCity (at least in Egypt). I say this as I had the repeat situation on my return UBER InterCity trip from Cairo to Alexandria. Same request for a 4-digit code. Same cancelled trip. Only difference is that I had no cash to give to the driver. My suggestion: Don’t use UBER INTERCITY in EGYPT. Funny thing: Local UBER in Cairo worked as expected.

Do not use Uber in a foreign country! In Prague the default is cash. I paid 30 Euros for a 24 Euro ride since I did not have any Karunas (Czech currency). The driver had no change, and he dropped me off nowhere near the hotel. He just pointed and grunted since he spoke no English and demanded Karunas. He has happy with the Euro overpayment. I had to haul luggage around and ask for directions to the hotel. In Singapore I found out that Uber was kicked out due to bad practices. By the way, there is no Uber record of this booking.

Apparently Uber can cancel your trip and then charge you for it. Then they have no number to contact a person to get a refund for a charge they decided to post for something they did. All I got was AI giving me a credit that will be split between two different trips. Well I will not be utilizing them because I will never use Uber again.

This is the most unprofessional, price gouging, unsafe, unreliable and overall horrible car service available. The fact that every “support” outlet you try to go through ultimately leads to nowhere. There’s no clear requirements for drivers and it is a price gouging scam and unsafe for traveler’s and consumers. SOMEONE SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. THERE SHOULD BE A HUMAN TO SPEAK TO. The BOTS just send the same response over and over. People are stranded or abused constantly. THERE NEEDS TO BE AN ANSWER TO THIS.

Driver charged me $300 for literally 2 drops on rubber mat, which can be washed in 1 min with just water. Tried to contact support, and found there is NO SUPPORT, only automated messages that you were charged cleaning fee, without even looking on photo! Hi Folks, Unfortunately, I'm another victim of Uber. I noticed a charge of $9.99 from Uber on our statement. I investigated and discovered it was a membership fee that I don't remember activating. I looked back and noticed the same charge for as far back as my on-line bank statements would take me. This may have been going on for years. I wasn't mad. My fault. I should have noticed and taken care of it. However, when I tried to cancel there is no clear method. I started with the app and went to the usual spots. Account Management, profile etc. No deactivation option. I tried using the help support but it's run by AI bots. No human option.
It first asked me to identify the problem and provides several choices...none of which match. Wait...no one has ever contacted them about about a transactional error? Apparently not becuase it's not listed as one of the choices. Long story short I tried every avenue for two days. I gave up on the help support and ended up googling and followed numerous instructions with no success. The bot told me to send bank statements and specific information to support@uber.com. When I complied, I received a response that said that email is not monitored and did not reason the support team. It point me back to the useless Help Support on the app. When I sent that response back through the open chat, the bot told me to resolve the issue through my bank and closed the thread. Wait...what just happened? I zapped the app from my phone and ask my family to start using alternate rideshares.
I'm starting to wonder Uber has designed it's system in a way that prevents the consumer from canceling or dealing with faulty transactions. Are the AI Bots trained to mislead consumers in an endless loop? That's was my experience. I ended up disputing the charge through my bank and canceling the card through the fraud protection feature (at the banks recommendation). Major inconvenience because of all the auto pays that I have to reconfigure... and all over a $9.99 monthly charge. At maximum frustration I went to the consumer review outlets like this one and was relieved to see I'm not the only one... I'm just floored that such a large company is able to operate this way. The help support is poorly designed. Is that on purpose? No human support available. Phone numbers have been disconnected. I do NOT recommend using Uber.

Uber stolen my money and kept my food. Yesterday August 13th 2025 I made an order for food at 5:00 p.m. By 6:35 I was anxiously waiting for my food as it has not arrived. I look at the app and it's now changed from 6:35 to 7:02. I'm not okay with a third change in the delivery time as I was hungry and I ordered my food at 5:00 p.m. So I called them and recorded both conversations I have three recording conversations that I'm willing to share with the world and to my bank because I have disputed that charge.
After 6:35 p.m. I canceled my order because now they're going into the third time changing the delivery time so because I canceled they're giving me 100% chargeback fee which means they're keeping all my money and I have no food. I called the supervisors and I called customer service recorded the conversations they both told me I'm ** and they're not delivering my food and they're not returning my money either way they're also called me a liar and said that I canceled before delivery time which was 6:35.
I do have a screenshot of them changing the time from 6:35 to 7:02 p.m. And when I took the screenshot it was at 6:35 so they're lying and I need the world to know about how Uber is willing to lie and make you look like a liar over $32. I am pissed off the fact that I got no food, I had to call, Skip the dishes and I was finally eating by 8:00 p.m.
I called the second day to Uber and I figured that I can let them redeem the cells one more time and no on the 3rd recorded conversation they're still saying that they're working with an a policies and I canceled and that I'm a liar. I want to delete Uber Eats if I can't because I'm going to delete Uber rides as well. If this keeps going I'll just delete Uber rides too. I am so pissed off with Uber and I can't wait for the bank to ask me for the documentation and the recordings because I'm happy to send them over. Trains were shut down due to a fire. Called an Uber, and the app glitched, but lo and behold them taking my money wasn't. I reached out to them, and essentially was told I was shit out of luck and to wait for it to drop. The wait, up to 10 days. For something I never got. I wasn't credited, or even a care. This is a great site. Unfortunately I had a very bad experience with Uber. For starters the price was doubled after I already accepted and confirmed the original price for the ride and was in the car (I see I’m not the only one who has experienced this price gauge issue with Uber). The driver was on the opposite side of a busy street for the pick up. I call her through the app while I see her go around the block. We proceed to meet near the original correct pick up location. I notify the driver that I have to be somewhere at a specific time of which the apps estimated time was very close.
I notice the driver turns off the street 5 min. away from my destination. She drives me to a completely different city and the app developer changes the loc. also while charging me these tremendous price hikes. This was terrible because now we’re 30 or more min. late to my destination. Had I not managed to direct the driver we would have never made it. Now here's the kicker--tried to charge us $50 fee for their address screw up and their driver's choice to cancel. So we disputed.
Now here's the kicker: There is no way to contact a human--none. After dispute--within three days--sent a note saying that they wouldn't refund because trip was more than 30 days ago (this coming four days after trip). Once again, you select trip in *their* app. And, once they tell you to ** off, there is no way to escalate. None. AmEx is, however, refusing to pay, at least for now.

I’m a highly rated Uber driver in the Tampa Bay area — currently listed in the top 18% of all drivers with a 4.96 rating — yet the Uber app inconsistently flags my safe driving as “speeding” or “harsh braking/turns,” even when I’m operating well within the law and vehicle limitations. I drive a 4-year-old, $87,000 luxury hybrid vehicle with advanced driver monitoring, safe following distance sensors, hands free driving, auto braking, and onboard vehicle tracking. My braking, acceleration, and cornering are all logged between 96%–97% consistency within the vehicle, with less than 1% variation between them. Yet the Uber app still false flags violations, based on incorrect speed limits and flawed sensors. At times, the vehicle will auto brake to maintain safe following distances, specifically when another driver jumps between me and the car I am following. Uber flags this as poor braking habits.
Another example, I was flagged for speeding in a 45 MPH zone that Uber incorrectly reported as 30 MPH. I submitted a photo with GPS and road signage proof. Uber refused to correct the error and even asked me to take screenshots while driving — which violates Florida’s hands-free laws and puts both driver and passengers at risk. Even after I showed proof of the flawed application speed sensors, Uber continued to blame me and stated their application is working as designed. See attached photo. This road is 45 MPH, yet Uber marks it as 30 and false flags the driver. Uber support is outsourced to the Philippines—agents don’t understand the issue and auto-close unresolved cases. Drivers can't reopen tickets or correct false records. No accountability, no fixes, just driver lost earnings.
To make matters worse, my luxury hybrid is unfairly classified as “UberX”—the same tier as 15-year-old compact cars—while older, less-equipped SUVs and sedans like Honda Accords are given “Comfort” status with access to higher-paying rides. Uber provides no formal process to appeal this flawed vehicle classification. Riders frequently comment that my vehicle is the nicest Uber they’ve ever been in. This misclassification benefits Uber financially while reducing my earning potential. Uber also penalizes drivers for rejecting long, unprofitable rides. I target Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties yet get sent offers for unpaid return toll routes to Sarasota or Orlando. Declining those rides drops my acceptance rate, and I risk losing my Advantage Mode and higher earnings tier.
This system punishes safe, responsible drivers while maximizing Uber’s take. It’s rigged against those of us trying to provide top-tier service. Some of my riders have even tipped me days later because of the exceptional service — but that appreciation doesn’t change how Uber treats drivers. Uber’s model benefits from keeping drivers misclassified, underpaid, and voiceless. It’s time for more oversight. Please report this to your local AG office or fair employment practices governing body.

Six Years Driving with Uber – Here’s the Harsh Truth. I’ve been driving with Uber for nearly six years. In the early days, things weren’t too bad. But over the past two years, the company has steadily transformed into something that I can only describe as exploitative and unjust. Here’s just a portion of what drivers are facing:
2. No More Incentives: For over a year, bonuses and surge pricing—once a motivation—have practically disappeared, even during busy hours.
3. Ineffective Support: About 90% of Uber’s support agents are based in low-income countries. Most lack proper English communication skills and have no knowledge or tools to actually resolve issues.
4. No Phone Support: They’ve eliminated phone support. You’re forced to chat online with agents who often cut the conversation off rudely when they don’t know the answer—no goodbye, no resolution.5. Automated System Injustice: If Uber miscalculates your fare (e.g., paying $4 instead of $12), the system refuses to fix it. Their weak AI system says, “Case closed,” and blocks any further attempt to revisit the issue.
6. Cleaning Fees Denied: If a drunk passenger vomits in your car, you lose a day of work and pay up to $250 for professional cleaning. Uber used to reimburse this—now, often they don’t.
And the list goes on…
Let’s talk real numbers:
Uber might send a driver on a 100 km trip and pay them $60. That looks like decent pay until you realize:
• The driver has to return another 100 km empty, meaning it’s effectively 200 km for $60.• That’s $30 per 100 km.
• Fuel alone costs $14 (at 10L per 100km and $1.40/L in Canada).
• After gas, only $16 is left.
• Then there are additional costs: oil changes, tire swaps, depreciation, insurance, car payments, mobile data, repairs, etc.
In the end, the average real income per hour is likely less than $2. That’s not an exaggeration—I have documents to prove it.
Why does this continue?• Governments often turn a blind eye, possibly due to financial or political interests aligned with Uber’s corporate power.
• Drivers themselves—especially newcomers from countries like Iran, Turkey, India, or Pakistan—begin working for Uber within months of arrival in Canada, unaware of how destructive this model is.
They drive 10–12 hours a day, put tens of thousands of kilometers on their cars annually, pay taxes, and cover every imaginable cost, only to end up with broken credit scores, repossessed vehicles, and shattered dreams.
The Real Consequences:
Within a few years:
1. Some drivers wise up and quit early on.2. Some leave after accidents.
3. Some intentionally total their vehicles in minor crashes just to escape their car loans and Uber’s trap.
4. The rest continue, afraid to quit, speaking little English, and unable to find other jobs—until they lose their cars, their credit, or both.
My message to drivers: Stop. Don’t waste your life. Don’t work yourself into the ground for a company that does not value you. You deserve better. Stand up for your dignity and find work that respects your time, health, and humanity. Is this really a job? Constant stress, fear of getting deactivated, getting insulted by rude passengers, risking traffic tickets and hidden speed cameras—only to make $5.48 per trip and then get fined $140 for one minor traffic infraction? Uber may have started with good intentions. But today, it has become the most ruthless face of modern capitalism. If Uber—or anyone else—needs proof of any of these claims, I am ready to provide documentation.

I am a driver for Uber. I only do deliveries. They half pay you when delivering food for people. I was deactivated from my account with my money that I earned still in my wallet. They told me I had to wait until Monday to receive it, I travel with my husband to different states. I also delivery there as well. People are out here stealing orders so if I cancel you get penalized for it, even if you accept it and get to the restaurant and food is not there you are getting in trouble for it. Uber is the worse company to drive or deliver for. It's definitely my fault cause I should have a real job and this a side hustle for extra money. I can never speak to anyone who speaks English this has truly been a lesson learned. Gave them over 6 years 157,000 miles on my v8 challenger and 2,094 deliveries to be treated like this, Their agents are very rude and talk over you when you are trying to explain, I've gotten threatened by customers. Uber doesn't do anything about it,.

On Friday, May 30, my wife and I called Uber to take us to the Philadelphia Airport, the beginning of a two-week trip. It was about 6 AM when my wife took our two bags down to the end of our driveway, and then returned to help me walk down, as I have had leg problems recently. The bags were out of our sight for about 5 minutes. When we walked down the drive, we did not see our bags, but did see the Uber driver turned into the driveway across the street, waiting for us. We walked over and asked about our bags, and he responded “in the trunk”. In retrospect, I realize now that his English (he was evidently a ** national) was not very good.
In the event, we believed that the bags were in the trunk. When we arrived at the airport, we discovered that the bags were not in the trunk. We decided to return home in the same Uber, hoping we might find the bags. Of course, they were still missing. We lost bags, clothing, and some jewelry (one significant piece, all in about $10,000, possibly much more depending on the value of the necklace, but not our passports, tickets, and cell phones. We then filed a police report, and rescheduled our trip for the next day. We found the driver to be competent and courteous. We have no evidence that he was involved in the theft. But it does seem possible that he had an accomplice in a following care. That said, we believe your company should be aware of the circumstances, in the event that something like this occurs again.

Am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with an ongoing issue I am experiencing with Uber gift cards. I initially purchased a gift card and subsequently added totaling $202.88 in gift card balance. However, for the past two days, I have been in constant communication with your support team regarding my inability to use this gift card balance for Uber rides or Uber Eats. I am repeatedly asked to add a debit card to my account, despite having sufficient funds available on the gift card.
As the gift card was purchased directly through Uber, it should serve as a valid form of payment, and requiring multiple debit cards simply to access services I have already prepaid for is unacceptable. Your system clearly shows the remaining balance (as evidenced by a screenshot I have taken), yet I am continuously directed in circles without a resolution. I have been going back and forth for the past three days, providing the same information repeatedly.
Furthermore, my request for a refund has been denied. This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating, and I feel that I have been unfairly denied access to services I have already paid for. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others against purchasing Uber gift cards, as any issues that arise may result in a loss of funds with no adequate support or resolution. I request your immediate assistance in resolving this matter and granting me access to Uber services using my existing gift card balance. If this cannot be resolved promptly, I will be forced to explore further options to recover my funds.

To make matters worse, Uber did not even send me a receipt for this trip, making it even harder to track and dispute the charge. I immediately disputed the charge through the app, yet as of February 17, I have received no response from Uber. Their complete lack of customer service is unacceptable: no updates, no resolution, just silence. Received an email from what appeared to be Uber in December 2024. Immediately tried to figure out if this was a phishing email or genuine. The email warned that if I didn't log into my account they would deactivate it in 30 days. I know enough not to click on links in suspicious emails so I attempted to reach out to their customer service online. There is no live chat for this issue, mostly bot-run automated questions and answers. Eventually, I found a number to call which was for rider safety issues, but at least I reached a human. Explained I wanted to know whether this email was from Uber or not and they promised to send a report to the department that deals with this issue and I would hear back soon via email and messages through the app.
Next day I received that email and message, requesting I send a screenshot of the suspicious email. I did this without delay, but no one responded so after a week I called again. Went through everything again with the agent, who said she would send another request for follow up to that department. A few days went by then I received an email from Uber saying simply that my account is in good order - no response to my question about the suspicious email. So I responded to the message again - no response. Called again - and kept going round in circles like this for two weeks. Each time an agent sends the information to that department, a different agent responds, but my initial question, along with the screenshots of the emails are never in the message thread.
I called one last time yesterday - first agent just hung up the call since she said she couldn't help. Second agent promised to do what all the previous agents had done and send my concern back to the department that deals with this. Today I receive an email from Uber saying they have reset my password due to 'suspicious activity' on my account - all this after having told me my account is fine. I had to choose another password (did not click on the link but went through the app). Another agent messaged asking yet again (probably 5th or 6th time) what the issue is I need help with. At this point, I give up - I will be very unlikely to use Uber again since their customer service is almost non-existent and they seem to care little about the security of my account. Most companies could tell me in a day or two whether they had in fact sent out an email, especially since it seemed suspicious and with so much phishing going on these days.

I selected the ride of $27.90 and although she took a bad route putting us in bad traffic I tipped her $5 feeling bad for her because she’s probably new to the area. I check my credit card statement and it shows the $27.90 charge reversed and a new charge of $39.57 which is not 27.90+5!
I go into my app to figure out how to get answers and dispute and it seems Uber can now change fares based on time which is absurd especially when that was the driver's fault and I was not given an opportunity to accept or decline the ride. After I selected the dispute of bad route timing, Uber changed the rate back to the fare I selected $27.90. They were on their way to meet a Social/Support Worker at the child's school. A ride they have taken often to the school. I have arranged many Uber rides for them over the years (0 incidents ever) and even lend them my car when needed. I fully trust them.
The Uber driver falsely claimed that the child broke his glasses. During the ride he texted and called me putting the mother's/child's safety at risk. He verbally abused, physically threatened and financially scammed my friend. He kept my friend hostage and forced her to go to the Bank and withdraw $200 from the ATM machine for the glasses. She felt unsafe and had no option to do it. We even have the bank withdrawal receipt with time/date stamp as evidence submitted to Uber. Then later that day the Uber driver filed a complaint with Uber to possibly scam more money from me/my account. Uber Support put a hold on my account for 12 days and finally today I spoke to a live person in Uber Investigations who seemed to understand the issue. I was hoping for a positive outcome.
My account was reactivated today BUT Uber did nothing to the Uber Driver. My friend is out of $200 she can't afford. Who will pay her back? How will she afford her groceries? We didn't do anything wrong and abided by the Uber Community terms and conditions. The Uber driver committed fraud/theft in addition to harassment of a woman and child. He took advantage of them and violated their human rights. How is this fair? Will Uber rise up and put loyal customers first? I will change my rating if Uber does the right thing. I was an 4.99 star rated diamond Uber Driver and always had compliments on the quality and promptness of service and cleanliness of my vehicle. Recently I had a mechanical breakdown, and I was issued a loaner from the dealership while my vehicle was being repaired. In my state, the DMV has a form the dealership fills out, which makes an emergency transfer of the license plate and registration from the disabled vehicle to the loaner car. When I submitted the form, the support team did not accept the form, and claimed that I committed fraud and blocked my account.
I was unable to appeal the decision, and after 2 weeks of repeated calls and texts to the support team, one of the team members made an appeal in my behalf. I was told that the appeal could take up to 5 days to be reviewed, sometimes longer. I have not been able to drive for Uber for over a month now, and still has yet to be reviewed. How do I hate thee Uber. Let me count the ways:
1. When reviewing activities, found a restaurant charge I didn't make. Not only do I not use Uber Eats, I don't patronize that restaurant. Unfortunately the charge was over 2 months old (Didn't catch it on my credit card statement). Uber refused to refund me.
2. Now I review activities frequently which is how I caught two more bogus charges on my bank statement approximately 2 years after #1. Someone charged rides to my debit card. I rarely use my debit card for ANY transactions so it isn't tied to my Uber account. Since the charges came right after I completed a transaction using my debit card, I suspect a vendor employee stole the information. What is interesting is that Uber must not have gotten the CVV code when the account was opened.
3. Uber indicated the car was 16 minutes away. That time never changed. After 15 minutes I cancelled the ride and had to pay 3 euros for that.
4. Our scheduled ride to the airport literally cancelled about 10 minutes before it was due. The scheduled time was 4am. It was a mad scramble to get transportation. Uber did give me a $50 credit but that was hardly compensation for the circumstances.

Several times I have been charged more than the rideshare price quoted. When I contact Uber via the app, the immediate response is, “We have observed that you have received many adjustments related to previous trips”! If Uber has erroneously overcharged for a rideshare, it’s Uber’s responsibility to correct it and issue credit/adjustment accordingly. The way to avoid the many adjustments is to eliminate the billing errors altogether. If Uber overcharge me $25.00 dollars, Uber should credit the overcharge, irrespective of the number of prior adjustments, instead of telling me that due to the many prior adjustments, Uber cannot refund me the $25.00 that I was overcharged. Customer service is key to the success of any business and Uber is failing in this category.

I started driving for Uber with hopes of earning some extra income and flexibility. However, my experience with Uber has been nothing short of a nightmare. Firstly, Uber’s constant algorithm changes make it impossible to predict earnings, leaving drivers at the mercy of the app. There are days when I barely make enough to cover gas, let alone earn a decent wage. Secondly, Uber’s rating system is incredibly unfair. A few low ratings from passengers, whether justified or not, can severely impact a driver’s ability to get rides. It feels like Uber prioritizes the satisfaction of passengers over the well-being of its drivers.
Thirdly, Uber’s lack of support for drivers is appalling. When I’ve had issues with fares or problematic passengers, getting a response from Uber’s support team is like pulling teeth. It’s clear that Uber prioritizes profits over the safety and well-being of its drivers. Overall, my experience with Uber has been one of exploitation and disregard for its drivers. I started an appeal a couple of weeks ago by asking them which document it was, but they only responded a couple of days ago, stating that my account was permanently locked based on this "fraudulent document" that they refused to talk about.
I called customer service and spoke with a representative named "Brittany," who said that all of my documents were fine and none of them were deemed fraudulent. However, the decision could not be changed. I specifically asked, "So, even though this decision is incorrect because of Uber's mistake, Uber is unwilling to reconsider their mistake? And even though there is no document considered fraudulent, I am being denied this position based on a fraudulent document. Is this accurate?" Brittany was awkward but said yes and asked if there was anything else she could help me with.
I am thoroughly unimpressed with Uber's ability to handle basic procedures like checking a simple document and accurately inputting a correct assessment. I am also appalled at their shifty obfuscation of the facts that underlie their decision. The cost was $10.50. The driver had a beautiful Tesla, that I even complimented him on, no response. I tipped him $3.00 and gave him five stars. 36 minutes later, I was charged an additional $160 for a cleaning fee. I called Uber and could not understand this charge, as we certainly didn't damage the car and our ride was only 4 minutes long. The charge was 36 minutes after the ride fee. I was credited back the $160.
One year later, I went to use Uber again, when out of town with my family. I had booked an excursion that we already paid for and needed to get to but when I used the app to book it, I couldn't AND the $160 from a year ago was back on my account! I needed to get to the location, so I paid it and planned to call Uber later to find out why this resolved fee was back! I tried calling for two days and could not get through to anyone!
Finally, I found an email link that I wrote to. To my complete shock, I got a response saying that we THREW UP in the car the year before AND a picture was included. I was so upset, as this was not us. It had already been resolved a year ago and there was no incident of throw-up or a picture last year. We never damaged the car. Either the driver lied or someone else took a ride in that car after us, since 36 minutes later I was charged a cleaning fee. I tried to dispute this charge once again, but because it was a year later, it was denied. I am so upset. The dishonesty of this world is just beyond disturbing. I bought a Uber card because I'd heard that Uber will pick up a package and deliver it. So I bought the Uber card, started a Uber account, and added the hundred dollar card to my acct, but when I tried to use it to have a package delivered it wouldn't let me. So I called customer service. I was told by a very rude employee of Uber, that I can't use the card to have packages delivered. And a few days after that I tried to use the money is put on the gift card to book a ride, but again, it didn't work, so I called customer service and was told that the gift card won't work unless I have a "real" credit card (ie. Not prepaid) on my account. (If I had a real credit card I wouldn't need to buy a Uber card.) I was also told that the money I put on the Uber card cannot be transferred to anything and cannot be refunded. So basically, Uber totally screwed me out of one hundred dollars. On September 30, 2023 my wife and I took an Uber from Bellaire, TX to the Westin Galleria, an 11-minute ride. I rated the driver a 5 and gave him a tip for the uneventful ride. The following morning I was charged $150 for a "Cleaning Fee" for "a mess that occurred on the trip". I disputed the charge on the app and got nowhere. I notified American Express that I had been erroneously charged -- that the driver was at least mistaken, or had outright lied. AMEX reversed the charge; however, the charge remained on my Uber account.
I requested whatever documentation Uber had that my wife and I had made the mess. I was informed that we had "thrown up" in the car. Nonsense. I asked for a photo. They sent a photo of a latte coffee spill. I then emailed Uber's CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi and got no response. I then wrote him a letter and sent it certified mail. Still no response. I am legally blind and travel with a guide dog. I have learned from drivers that Uber keeps a database of customers with service dogs and with disabilities that their drivers can access, but to which none of us in the database consented, and the company uses that database to enable drivers to cancel rides before arrival so they can more efficiently deny access to customers traveling with their service dogs. As if this service could get more awful to use than it already was, now, their drivers are allowed to turn down rides by canceling them so there’s no outright, provable denial of access so it permits the company to circumvent both the law and court rulings on the matter.
I’m just glad I live in a place with public transit because if I had to rely on Uber and Lyft, given the number of denials I experience nearly every time I try to use those services, I wouldn’t have access to reliable transportation. I’ve used Uber for years and throughout the world without any problems worth repeating. Which is why I never knew what a colossal nightmare the relationship becomes when things go south. On a visit to London, I requested an Uber, inputting the address of my central London hotel. The driver picks me up and about 15 minutes, I look up from my phone to notice we’re stuck in traffic heading in exactly the wrong direction to central London. Unbeknownst to me, the street address I had inputted exists both in central London and in a suburb of London, and the driver had just assumed I wanted the suburb (probably because as it turns out this is in the direction of his home, so he probably got stuck on that idea).
Please note, no postcode had been inputted because the app accepted the address without it. Anyway, what should have been a half hour ride, wound taking an hour, so when my credit card bill came and I remembered this trip, I tried to dispute with Uber, but to no avail – the system just kept returning a verdict in my disfavor. The verdict took so little time to return (a couple of minutes at most) that it was clear no person was even reading my dispute nor looking at the map of our journey which supported my claim. So I called my credit card company and disputed half the charges. Next thing I know, Uber charges me again the entire trip!
I called the cc company again and dispute all of this second billing. Now Uber won't even let me book a trip unless I first pay the full fare for the original trip. No consideration is given to how many trips and how many years I’ve used Uber without incident – their system just assumes I’m suddenly trying to save on a fare by pretending I have a legitimate grievance. What’s worse, I’m not even allowed to close my account until this bill is settled!

A few minutes later I saw that the ride was canceled and I do not know why. So I ordered another one. This driver arrived and took us to our destination without incident. A few days later, I went online and found out that I had been charged $5.50 for the cancellation. So I went to their website to find an email address, they do not have one. Next, I looked for a phone number, again, they do not have one. I finally contacted them through a help link that said something like, "Where is my refund?".
I explained my issue and received a reply letting me know that they were going to give me a refund of $5.50. I was not told where to expect this refund, so because I paid with a debit card, I checked the bank, no refund. I finally looked on the app and saw that they credited me with $2.50. Or they tell their personal problems to the riders. As if we care. We all have our own crap to deal with. We don't need to deal with uber drivers' life drama.
I was even told by one driver when I said I was thinking about driving uber that, "There is enough of us. You don't need to do that, at least not out here cuz you're just taking our money then. You need to go up north. We don't need any more drivers area". Yet every time I order an uber it's 30+ minutes before they show. Or before they even confirm ride. But there's enough of them in the area??? No there is not! No. All the drivers in my area are horrible. A good portion of them are awesome people and professional when it comes to their job. But the rest shouldn't be doing this.

Long story short I forgot my AirPods Pro in a cab. I tracked them and got a location. Spoke to the driver who admitted that the rider after me lied and stated the pods were theirs. After confirming color and the fact only 1 AirPod was actually in the case because I had the other in my possession he gave me the the address he dropped the rider off at. Which matched the location on Find My iPhone. Uber advised they would be charging me a fee to have the item returned but no communication after. I advised I would pick them up myself. All they had to do was advise the rider to leave them in the lobby of the hotel he was staying at. They refuse! The nerve of them to protect a theft!! They were absolutely no help!! I get things happen but this was an easy fix! Will never be spending my money with them again.

I am on vacation in Ohio. I used Uber twice today. They billed my account for the amount they initially quoted for each ride then also charged the actual fee. I just used uber at home in GA and was not billed this way. I will be filling fraud charges because I did not give uber permission to bill me twice.

Like an idiot, I called an Uber to take me home from the bar (I'm off on Thursdays) and left my phone in the Uber. No big deal, but Uber has done everything they can to tell me they don't care about helping me resolve the issue. They just keep trying to dish me to the driver, who didn't do anything wrong. It's been a borderline panic attack inducing day trying to get this giant company to give a **.
