Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience from both the stay itself and the way the complaint was handled afterward. During my stay, the Wi-Fi was not working. When I called the front desk to report it, I was told there were "no guarantees" with the Wi-Fi. The air conditioning also did not cool the room adequately, and I experienced rude treatment from staff. On my final day, my key card stopped working after I went outside by the pool. I had to walk all the way around the building to get back inside through the front entrance. I am on oxygen, so having to make that additional walk was physically difficult and was more than a minor inconvenience.

I contacted Booking.com because of these issues and requested a partial refund. My case was escalated twice because the property would not respond to Booking.com's attempts to contact them. I was then told by Booking.com that if the property did not respond within 48 hours, a refund would be issued. When that 48 hours passed, I contacted Booking.com again and was told to wait another 24 hours. After that time passed, I called again and was told I would receive a call back immediately. I was even specifically told not to call back if the call disconnected because they would call me. The call ended, and I never received that promised call.

Almost a week later, I am still waiting for management to contact me regarding the refund. I understand that problems can occasionally happen during a hotel stay. What has been most frustrating is the lack of accountability and follow-through afterward. I gave both the property and Booking.com multiple opportunities to resolve the situation, and I am still chasing someone for an answer. Based on my experience, I would not book this property again, and I am disappointed with how the complaint and refund request have been handled through Booking.com.

I paid for my trip in advance. I booked 5 hotels. It seemed like I had to tell each of the hotels that I already paid each time when checking in. I was double charged on one of them. I noticed that the prices didn't match up. I called customer serves and sent them the proof. They denied it and the next day when I went back on Booking.com app I could see that they had corrected the price to what I was charged. I had my bank reverse the charge. I will.

I'm going to join the rest of the crowd here and give Booking.com a 1 star. I planned ahead and reserved my hotel back in June, two days before my trip in August I noticed that the hotel was significantly cheaper (by $100 for the two night stay). I tried to contact Booking.com before the actual trip, and had no luck with a response. When I got back I tried to do the price match guarantee with their own website, but they said since the trip already happened, they couldn't "honor" it. I even had screenshots of the hotel, same type of room, breakfast deal, etc. but they said it wasn't good enough. I will no longer be using this website, and neither should you!

Two serious failures — I will never use Booking.com again. I am writing this review after two separate international trips where Booking.com failed to stand behind travel I purchased through their platform. The first happened in Madeira. I specifically booked and paid for an ocean-view room through Booking.com. When we arrived, we were given a terrible room with no ocean view. The room we received was simply not what I had purchased.

When I contacted Booking.com for help, I was told that the room had actually been sold through a third-party supplier and Booking.com would not resolve the problem. From a consumer's perspective, I find that unacceptable. I made my reservation through Booking.com. I did not select, negotiate with, or even know about this third-party supplier. If Booking.com chooses to sell a third party's inventory on its platform, I believe it should stand behind what its customer was promised.

Our second experience was much more serious. During a recent trip to Okinawa, our flights home were cancelled because of a typhoon, leaving us stranded in Japan. The tickets had been purchased through Booking.com, so we repeatedly contacted them for assistance. We spent hours and made numerous calls trying to get Booking.com to help us get home. At one point, the option presented to us could have left us stranded in Japan for nearly two additional weeks.

We eventually stopped relying on Booking.com and went directly to the airline at the airport. After working with the airline ourselves, we were able to secure confirmed flights home much sooner. To be clear, I do not blame Booking.com for the typhoon or the flight cancellations. What I expected was meaningful assistance from the company through which I purchased the tickets. When we needed that assistance most, we did not receive it.

These were two completely different trips and two completely different problems, but the result was the same: when something went seriously wrong, Booking.com did not stand behind us. What makes this especially disappointing is that I have also experienced travel problems when booking through Expedia. The difference was dramatic. When I had problems with Expedia bookings, Expedia stood behind me 100% and helped resolve them.

That experience proved to me that the problem isn't simply the nature of using an online travel agency. There are companies that will stand behind their customers when things go wrong. After these two experiences, I will never use Booking.com again — for hotels, flights, rental cars, or anything else. My future travel will be booked through Expedia. I would rather give my business to a company that has demonstrated through my own experience that it will be there when I actually need help.

I was told I need to pay 200 dollars in order to get my refund 402.00. I told Booking.com I didn't have it. I received a email saying they don't give refund and scammed me out of 402.00 dollars. Very Disappointing Customer Service Experience. I have always booked my flights directly with the airline, and after this experience, I regret deciding to book through Booking.com. I booked flights for myself and my partner and paid extra to select our seats so we could sit together. However, on the flight departing from the United States, our seats were incorrectly assigned and we ended up separated, despite having paid for our seat selections. The most frustrating part was the lack of customer service. I could not find a phone number to speak directly with a representative. Instead, I had to deal with an automated chat system. After spending hours trying to resolve the problem, I was finally told that Booking.com could not help me and that I needed to contact the airline directly.

I called the airline myself, and they were able to correct the seating issue. Unfortunately, I had to pay for the seats again. So I paid Booking.com for seat selections, spent hours trying to get help, received no solution, and then had to contact the airline and pay again to fix the problem. If Booking.com sells airline tickets and charges customers for seat selections, they should also provide accessible customer service when something goes wrong. Based on my experience, booking directly with the airline would have been much easier and would have saved me both time and money. I will think twice before booking a flight through Booking.com again.

DO NOT USE BOOKING.COM. I attempted to change the dates of my reservation well before the 48-hour deadline because I became seriously ill. Despite repeatedly trying to resolve this, I have gotten absolutely nowhere. Booking.com has repeatedly disconnected my calls when I ask to speak with a supervisor. Westgate has not responded to my calls or emails, and Booking.com keeps telling me they cannot reach the property either. I did what I was supposed to do and attempted to change my reservation within the required timeframe. Yet I am now stuck in the middle because Booking.com and Westgate cannot—or will not—communicate with each other.

What is most upsetting is the complete lack of assistance from Booking.com. If you are going to act as the booking platform and take customers’ money, you should also be willing and able to help when there is a legitimate problem with a reservation. I am documenting every call, email, and attempt I have made to resolve this and will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well. Based on my experience, I absolutely cannot recommend Booking.com.

I have been using Booking.com for many years. I am a Genius VIP level 3, and I had a bad experience in October 2024 where they did absolutely nothing. Now, in August 2026, another mess happened; again, they did nothing as always! The mistake was not mine; the company didn't have this in their policies, and no one knows about this new policy. Even the agent was surprised by the new policy. It seems like they do this to steal money without providing the service. So today my opinion about Booking is that I do not recommend it because their support doesn't work the way they say it does.

From today, I do not recommend it, and I will not use Booking. I would rather pay more than use Booking. So I say, if you don't want to get stressed, don't use Booking. Also, from Aug. 24, 2026, to September 17, 2026, I will use it for the last time because of my trip to Europe. I booked everything through Booking: flights, train, hotel, car rental, and insurance. If she decides, I would think about it, but anyway, bye forever.

I called the airline but they told me to rebook through booking.com because they issued the original ticket. I rebooked through booking.com and they sent a confirmation email for the new flight schedule. However, I couldn't find my trip through the airline website when I went in to assign seats. So, I called the airline and found out that booking.com didn't issue the ticket correctly. After a week and 5+ phone calls to booking.com, I still don't have the correct ticket. My wife and I have been loyal Booking.com customers for years, booking entire international vacations to Japan and Italy through their platform. However, after our recent experience, we will never use their service again. On July 23, 2026, I checked into a short-term rental booked via Booking.com in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Upon entry, I immediately discovered severe life-safety hazards: mandatory smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were completely missing, leaving exposed ceiling wires. Additionally, there was no hot water in the sink or shower, and the shower had mold and missing tiles. When I messaged the host about the hot water, they took a full day to respond and dismissively claimed I simply "didn't know how to use the faucets."

Because of the severe fire hazard, I vacated the property immediately and contacted Booking.com customer support. The experience was frustrating from start to finish: Phone Support: The connection was poor and the agent’s accent/speech was nearly impossible to understand, making effective communication extremely difficult. App Chat Support: I switched to the in-app chat, but the agents were equally unhelpful. Despite clear photographic proof of an active safety hazard and an uninhabitable property, Booking.com refused to issue a full refund of $226.72. They claimed they were merely an "advertising platform" and offered only an insultingly low $22.67 promotional credit.

I took the following actions to resolve the issue: City Code Enforcement: Reported the property to the City of Rancho Cucamonga Community Improvement Division, which opened an active Substandard Housing Investigation. Regulatory Complaints: Filed reports with the California Attorney General, FTC, and BBB. Credit Card Dispute: Filed a chargeback with Citi Bank, which reviewed the photo evidence and code case, ruling permanently in my favor for the full $226.72. Booking.com does not enforce basic safety standards on its listings, offers virtually non-existent support when unsafe conditions arise, and hides behind excuses rather than protecting guests. Use alternative platforms for your travel.

Very disappointing experience with Booking.com as a hotel partner. We had a reservation that was cancelled by the guest. The guest never arrived, never stayed at our property, and we received absolutely no payment. The payment/pre-authorisation was not completed either. Despite this, Booking.com still tried to charge our property for the reservation. We formally disputed the charge and provided a clear explanation, but instead of properly addressing the dispute, Booking.com refused to resolve the issue and ultimately restricted/blocked our property from receiving bookings. The most frustrating part is the lack of transparency. When a legitimate dispute is raised, Booking.com should investigate the actual facts and provide a clear explanation—not simply reject the dispute and penalise the property.

After years of working with hospitality platforms, this kind of treatment makes us seriously question how Booking.com handles its hotel partners. Booking.com needs to start listening to its partners, properly investigate disputes, and stop putting unfair charges and restrictions on properties when no payment was ever received.

My plans were not finalized, and I reserved a hotel through Booking.com specifically because it stated free cancellation until 24 hours before my stay, which was not for another 4 days. Our plans did in fact change, and when I went to cancel my reservation, less than 24 hours after I initially booked it, the email I received stated that that reservation could not be cancelled and I was responsible for the full price. I contacted the hotel, and while they were very nice, said they could not cancel the booking because it was through Booking.com, which had purchased the room, and Booking.com would not speak with the manager of the hotel to resolve the situation.

The hotel gave me the number to Booking.com, but all I received from their customer service was the run-around. I asked them to look at their own website to reference exactly what I was talking about: that it said free cancellation, but they put it back on me to provide them proof. While I said to look on their own website, giving them the name of the hotel, they refused to do so and simply said they would email the hotel for an exception for me. I don't need an exception; it is in black and white on their website. What a scam...never again use Booking.com, and would suggest no one else does either!!

It was dirty, old and run down. The lights in the communal areas entrance, lobby, stairways were not working and as we were on the 4th floor can only be described as dangerous. There was only two small old air-conditioning units, one in the kitchen and one in the lounge which were inadequate. We were also informed that the bottle needed emptying every 30 minutes. The kitchen area was filthy and unusable. The apartment overlooked a building site which created noise and dust and was unbearable. We contacted booking.com immediately in the morning, the agent who took our call said under the circumstances we could check out and receive a refund for the unused nights.

We rebooked another hotel with booking.com £770.00 to be told 30 minutes later that the agent had given us the incorrect information. The second agent was sympathetic and said she would make an internal complaint. Since our return trying to contact the customer service department is almost impossible apart from talking to an Ai Agent. There does not appear to be any email addresses for customer services either. I have managed to eventually speak to another agent and they informed me they have no record of my original conversation and all they could reimburse me was 18.00 Euros which did not cover the taxi to the new hotel.

I booked a hotel with Booking.com. I noticed a week later that the price dropped substantially. I filled out all of the paperwork for a price match. I called that same day and after holding on the phone for 40 minutes, the representative, who was impossible to understand, told me she couldn't read what I sent in. I re-sent it in. I called the next day, and this time the employee, who again was difficult to understand, told me they would not honor the price match. The dates and rooms were identical. I was put on hold for another 40 minutes to speak to a supervisor, and was not given the price match. This company is DISHONEST!!! I will never deal with them again!!!

I will never use Booking.com again, and the Super 8 by Wyndham in Sheboygan, WI, is an absolute disgrace. After a 5-hour drive, I pulled into the hotel parking lot only to be hit with a horrific family emergency. I immediately went in to cancel my stay. Instead of showing an ounce of human decency, the front desk staff was unprofessional, unkind, and downright repulsive. They could not have cared less about my emergency; their only concern was pocketing my one-night room fee.

They refused to help and told me to call Booking.com. I did. Booking.com promised to contact the hotel and call me back. They never did. I spent 1.5 hours on hold on three separate occasions, only to get zero resolution. Both the hotel and Booking.com just pointed fingers at each other. Horrific customer service, predatory policies, and a complete lack of humanity. Avoid Booking.com and Super 8 Wyndham at all costs.

I booked a hotel room through Booking.com and when we arrived at the hotel, booking.com card declined, after spending several hours on hold with them, we had to pay out of pocket $300+, they called and stated they was going to refund our money after we send them our receipt. Guess who's still waiting for the refund? Now they're sending emails wanting a bank statement??? I sent in a copy of that also which the receipt should be all the proof they need and I’m still waiting. After this mess is settled, I will not use their services again!!! Bad business and keeping a customer on hold for that long is outrageous!!!

I booked a room in June and received confirmation of the stay. The full amount for the booking was charged in July a month before we were supposed to check in. We check in at 4 pm on day 1 as instructed. By 1 pm the next day we get a knock on the door asking why we were still in the condo. Booking.com took our money and did not pay the resort which cancelled our stay. We had to find another place to go. Booking stated they will pay for the next place we stayed for the inconvenience but they have not responded to the invoice.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. They never sent me a confirmation email but took my money. I’ve called several times after being on bold 20+ minutes each time. 1 colleague was able to find my email & reservation but the others weren’t. Supposedly they keep saying they have to give me a call back within a minute. No one ever calls back and won’t let me speaking with a supervisor. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

I booked a room on the Booking.com website which was advertised at $66. When I got the confirmation it was closer to $500. There is no answer and no resolve. Customer service said if I had a screenshot. SCAM ALERT. TOTALLY FALSE ADVERTISING. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WILL NEVER USE THAT SITE AGAIN.

Avoid Booking.com — Their practices feel deceptive and deeply problematic. Booking.com openly scammed me. I booked a hotel through Booking.com in May 2026 and paid the full amount of $296.96 on May 14th. After they had my credit card information, they charged me again on June 10th for an additional $116.98 without authorization.

When I contacted them, they admitted the extra charge was incorrect. However, instead of simply processing the refund, they demanded additional credit card information beyond what was necessary. I provided the last six digits of the card they had already charged, yet they continued to ask for even more details. This behavior creates a situation where they fraudulently charge customers, then make the refund process unnecessarily difficult once you catch the issue. It feels intentional, obstructive, and unacceptable. My advice: do not use their app or service.

This is the absolute worst customer service I can imagine. I am actually fascinated by it as a business process in 2026. I bought a flexible ticket and needed to extend my stay. The only way Booking lets you change your flexible ticket is via chat (e.g., not via an automated booking engine like a normal, modern business would have). I reached out 72 hours before my flight and was told that the system wasn't working, and to try again later. I reached out again 48 hours before my flight, and was told it would be escalated. I then received a call 23 hours before my flight from the Tier 2 support team, and was told that it was too late to change my flight (less than 24 hours before my flight!) I explained how this was insufficient, and was told that my issue would be escalated to another team.

About 12 hours before my flight, I received a no-reply email with an offer to switch (at additional cost equal to what I had already paid) to a flight a month later than what I had requested. I followed up with customer service chat - you have to go back to tier 1, where they have no context and apparently just create a new ticket requesting a refund - and was told it would be escalated, and several days later received an extremely long email full of contradictions and misspellings saying that no refund was available. There were several more lost tickets and roundabout chats with customer service, but I ended up just having to buy a new ticket directly with an airline. I remain amazed that a customer service process could be so broken in 2026.
