I didn't know what happened, but one of the inverters melted down, which caused a chain reaction. And that's not due to them. That was due to the ridiculous record winds and heat we've had this year.

I liked working with First American a lot. Tony is super professional, and they delivered on time, which is a rarity in this business. They had great customer service. Their installation of the panels was done within a week. It was very quick. Also, we had a couple of corrections from the inspector at the end, and they were there within a day or two to fix them. It was an awesome experience. I would work with them again. A couple of my high net worth clients have come back and said they wanted to put solar in their house. They come to me for anything real estate-related. I've told them to use First American Solar. So far, everyone that has started the process with First American and gone through it has enjoyed them.

They were ready to install the panels within a week of contract, but it was a new build. So, it was delayed on my end. And they could have broken the contract because I had surpassed the one year. So, I'm very lucky they didn't because I know the prices went up from a while back. The rep said, "I'm just gonna match it for you." And I got a better product because the product was not being made anymore. So, I got better wattage. They came through good. I did a good size system because it's just the two bedroom, two bath that we did in the back. It does very well. And we get a nice reading. Our utility bills are almost even, not only electricity, including, water and sewer and trash, because we did a big system. So, the city buys the power from us.

My roof is one that's hard to have solar on because it's sort of a mission style house. It has ceramic tiles and you can't really walk up on a roof. I knew it was gonna be hard with this type of roof. You're not really supposed to put panels. The installers said, "Oh, no. It's no problem. We can just do this." And they actually did something neat. Where the panels were going, they took the ceramic tiles down and put up traditional tiles then put the solar on top of the traditional tiles. They were able to make it work in a unique way.

First American Solar works. I basically don't have an electric bill anymore. There's graphing and an app for my phone. It actually shows me production versus consumption. They're pretty much right in line with each other. The app works really well and it's pretty simple to use. There's a battery too that's built-in and it's part of the whole install. If I were to lose power, the high priority items in the house would remain powered. It's automatic.

I recommended First American Solar to a friend who ended up doing an install with them. First American Solar reached out to me after my referral and said they had a referral reward of 500 bucks that they could send me as a thank you. I didn't even know about that. In this day and age, you get such generally bad service from a lot of companies. Oftentimes, customer service is lacking these days as well as the follow through and quality products. I've just noticed a general degradation over the years. But First American Solar is really good at what they do. They're a great company to work with.
