Dillard's is the Most unaccommodating store.. I purchased boots for my daughter for Christmas via online. Jan 10th my daughter advised they were too small and I call to start a return they said that was the last day for Christmas return but would give me a store credit. Is was disappointed but could probably find some to purchase for the $200. Well Dillard receives them and returned them to me! I called and they said the boots had to be returned that day on the 10th. Well the closest store is 250 miles away. They offered NOTHING. Just SOL. I find it outrageous they would not do anything for me. My next step is to send a certified letter to the CEO. And make as many complaints possible for their horrible service or understanding that this was an online Christmas purchase it is more than obvious the boots are unworn. And give no avenue to escalate this matter. I would NEVER recommend purchasing anything from them ever.

Do not shop here!!! I received a pair of boots as a gift, and they were purchased in advance of my birthday. They were too big, but when I went to return or exchange them with the original receipt, I was told it’s outside of their return policy, so there is nothing they can do. I asked if I could just receive store credit to buy something else, and was told no. I will never shop here again! I get much better customer service elsewhere!

Recently visited Coconut Point Mall. What a awful place. No one greeted us. We felt completely ignored. Sales staff was gathering in cosmetics counter speaking and screaming in Spanish. No one asked us if we needed any help. Very very rude staff. We will never shop in Dillard's again.

Dillard's disappointed me and it was a misunderstanding. They gave me a refund and apologized. I'm happy it turned out this way, because I have always love Dillard's from the beginning.

I would give 0 stars, but you have to give something to write a review. Do not buy from this store unless you go in and purchase. My order didn't show up and I never got a refund or anything else. It was supposed to be delivered in my mailbox and never was. I am very disappointed with online purchasing.

Customer service at Dillard's refused to look up a copy of my receipt using the card I used to purchase. Refused to allow return of new pair of shoes because I didn’t have the box. Customer service reply online to my inquiry supported the decision of the local store representative.

This is about the quality of their product, not service in store. I purchased an Eilene West nightgown yesterday for $47, on clearance and discovered the extremely poor quality of the garment when removing the tags. The seams were not finished at all and the threads were already unraveling. Not only is the quality extremely poor, it is priced the same as the much nicer brand Ms Elaine. I expected more from the brand and will not purchase again. Will definitely return. Thank you!

The customer service is terrible. It's almost impossible to order stuff online. Won't nobody in the store help you do this and then when you're making mistake it's Unforgiven. It's Mission Impossible. Terrible terrible. I will be canceling all of my accounts and anything else I have to do with this business. I recommend spend your money with somebody who cares.

Dillard's has been very sketchy for the few times I have TRIED to order online to end up cancelling. This last time I have tried was because they were the only retailers who carried my mom's size in a specific plain black silk skirt. I have never experienced this with known retailers on every occasion as a patron, but maybe that's why Dillard's has fallen behind on being a household name.
This time I didn't end up requesting my order be cancelled due to stagnant processing times with no shipping for over 10 business days. This time Dillard's decided to cancel my order with no email notification and no update in my order status on their website. What is the point of that function then? I reached out to customer service to very informed my order was cancelled a few days after due to "verification failure." Whatever that means. There was no communication to inform me or request information to "pass" this verification. I will not go through this again and I won't be surprised if this company announces they are going out of business in the near future. These business practices are not sustainable.

We placed an online order and used a gift card. The gift card was not applied and the entire amount was charged to our credit card. We spoke to customer service several times to get this resolved but they said there is no way they can apply our gift card to our balance. We would have to return the items and pay for shipping both ways. Worst customer service of any retailer we’ve experienced.

I purchased a baptismal outfit 12/19/25. I was already disappointed to see that I had to pay a $9.95 shipping fee for a $35 item. When you purchase these type of items, it is difficult to be precise when it involves a baby and size. I loved the outfit and didn’t want to spend a lot so I placed the order. I Waited For the baby to arrive for Christmas. He is six months old and 20 pounds. I knew that this 9 mos size was not going to fit. So I called the store and spoke to two different people. I wanted the 12 month size and I was willing to do an exchange, then I was told I would have to pay to ship it back which is $9.95, re-order with another shipping charge for $9.95 which now puts me at over $30 just for shipping from the original order.
The outfit with the bonnet cost $35. They told me to call corporate which I did four times today, no one answered. I left a message and the prompt took me in a loop and never got a call back. So that was also a scam. I would never purchase from Dillard's again. It is too late for me and I have to pay for this new order as the baptism is January 17 and no time to shop around. Horrible, horrible customer service toward a first-time customer

I have been a Dillard's customer for many years and have been pleased overall with its merchandise and their sales representatives. One employee especially always lights up my day and her name is Virginia who works in the Origins department of the Dillard's at Lynnhaven Mall, Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is knowledgeable about her products and very personable and a great smile that welcomes you to step inside her display and try out the products! Origins is a great product and has a great person to support their products!

I just want to say that the store manager of the Greenville SC Dillard's goes above and beyond for her customers. I bought a Makenzie Childs pumpkin online and when it was delivered it was Broken. Keisha ** the manager of the store personally spoke with me and refunded my money and went thru the trouble to find and send me pumpkins for my daughter's room. She showed the true spirit of Christmas!!

Do not purchase from Dillard's!!! Received half my order and after 7 months of stress jumping through all their hoops trying to get what I paid for I was just told by customer service basically I am shit out of luck. Myself and my family will never shop at your con store again!!! I wish you out of business!!!!!

The only reason they got a star is because I had to choose one. Anyway, I ordered my daughter a pair of Coach shoes online. After getting my email showing that my order was delivered, I got home to see there was no package. I called them and was offered a refund or I could get another pair delivered to me. I choose to get my money back and just go into the store to get the shoes myself. I was told that I would get my refund. After a week goes by no refund, so I called customer service again and spoke with Letha. She advised me that I wouldn't be getting a refund because they investigated and the delivery service told them it was delivered. I asked, well where are they? So no shoes and no Money back. What a rip off, so now I have to go through my bank and get my money. I will never shop at Dillard's again, and I will be sending them to the BBB.

I would choose zero stars if I could. Terrible customer service. Lancome counter. Wrong color put in the package. Traveled home, discovered the error made my a Dillard's employee. Their manager says to PAY TO SHIP IT BACK and THEN they will graciously ship out the correct one with the fee waived. So I'm supposed to pay 14.95 to ship back a $28 item? Right!

I've been a customer of Dillard's for over 30 years and never had an issue until a recent dress pants purchase on October 14th. After wearing the pants for about two hours it looks like I had slept in it for two days with wrinkles and creases in it. There was clearly something wrong with the material in these dress pants and decided to take them to the dry cleaners to clean and Iron.
Got them back and the results were no different with creases and wrinkles appearing in minutes of wearing them. I brought them back to the store on Oct 27 and was abruptly told they would not take them back either to provide an exchange or credit. I dealt with two staff members and a manager and was amazed with their arrogance and lack of helpfulness. There was absolutely no way they would even slightly entertain my request to take back the defective pants. Really bad customer service and they have lost a long time customer.

I made an online purchase. They accepted my payment and my money was taken from my debit card. After two days I received a mail that my order has been canceled because my credit card isn't issued in US! This is absolutely outrageous! Who allowed such discriminating "policy"??? And WHY it isn't noted anywhere that they only accept credit cards "issued in USA"???
And if so, WHY my card wasn't rejected momentarily but they chose to take my money, use it for some time even though it actually isn't good enough for them - can you imagine that? It is just outrageous!!! I will be sure to address to all competent consumer protection bodies about this discriminating malpractice!! Dillard's needs to be reported and punished for what they are doing!

Got a pair of jeans that were on clearance for my mother's birthday & the lady handle the sale said I had 30 days to return which is standard on 10/14/25. Today 10/18/25 her birthday, tried them on & didn't fit. So I went to return them just to be told that they couldn't take them back. I'm out that money as well as NO birthday present for my mother. By all means I think I should have been able to at least get something else for the amount that I spent 4 days ago. Very dissatisfied with the whole experience at Dillard's at Longview Mall for the 1st time ever & I personally won't be back.

Who is Dillard's buyer? Step it up, Dillard's! Look at TEMU. They have the cutest clothes, but terrible quality. Find a manufacturer and designer to create these styles. Maybe you can keep Dillard's from going bankrupt.

I cannot write enough about the service that was provided during my last couple of visits to Dillard's. The beauty advisor for Lancolme, and Dixie in the home department went above and beyond to help me with selecting and finding my purchases. The store is never very busy, which is a shame because their service goes well beyond any other department store in the central Florida area and an exemplary customer service department store.
Dillards provides high-quality products at an expected price without marking up products to then offer discounts as many of their competitors. Truly a high-quality store, which is hard to find these days. I feel strongly that the other negative reviews that I have seen were not from the store and a lesson for Dillards to mimic what is done at this lake Wales store. I should also mention that I was not able to get enough quantities of some of the items that I wanted, and I was helped to get them shipped from another store in Melbourne, which seemed to have excellent and attentive service as well.

One of the worst retail experiences I’ve ever had. I placed an order, and a week later, it still hadn’t shipped. When I contacted customer service, they admitted they had no idea when it would ship—or even suggested it “might have shipped” but without a tracking number. I explained I’d be out of town, and their response was essentially that there was nothing they could do. The lack of care and professionalism was shocking. In this day and age, it’s unbelievable for a retailer to have zero visibility into their shipping process. Completely unacceptable.

I bought two suits at Dillard's in Louisville CO. The sales guy did a poor job matching my style. He wanted to impose his style on me. The alteration service was doing a poor job. One leg was over an inch longer than the other, amongst other things. He blamed his colleague, very unprofessional. The second suit was the same style, just different color, but did not fit at all. I returned it thanks to poor service and a terrible sales person. The same guy belittled my son a few months earlier, when buying a suit. It was more important for him to chat with his buddy and providing the service we needed. We ultimately purchased his suit at Macy's. Today, they brought a voucher on shoes, the brand I purchased 2 pairs a week ago. They would not honor that. Except for exclusive brands like Cremieux, I will spend my money at Macys and Nordstrom going forward.

I have always enjoyed the selection at Dillard’s but now that I’ve experienced how bad the customer service is, it’s not worth it. Terrible customer service overall. Their policy about price adjustments is absurd- they don’t offer price adjustments and the time limit/expectations for a return are unreasonable. I’ll be surprised if Dillard's makes it as a long standing company. They care more about archaic policies than their customers.

I recently purchased several perfumes through Dillard’s online store, expecting the same level of service I usually receive when shopping in person. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. One of the reasons I often shop at department stores is the added value of receiving fragrance samples, which allows me to try out new scents before committing to a full bottle. This time, despite spending a significant amount, not a single sample was included in my order.
It feels like a missed opportunity for both the customer and the store—samples help us discover new favorites and often lead to future purchases. I expected better from Dillard’s, especially given its reputation for customer care. I hope the company reconsiders this practice for online orders, as it leaves loyal customers like me feeling undervalued.

This is the store where Nobody Cares!! It is shameful that a store that carries high end merchandise doesn't give a hoot about its customers and their experience. About 3 weeks ago I purchased a bathing suit and wrap for approx $100. Then on Aug 1st I purchased another $250 (order # **). I received this order 2 days ago only to find the bathing suit that I just received actually dropped significantly in price that same day. The other items I bought a few weeks ago also dropped in price. I called hoping for a price adjustment and the man said Dillard's doesn't do that. I also read that on your return policy. He said you have to return everything and repurchase it..and you are charged 9.95 to return it.
Yesterday I returned all of the items except the bathing suit bottom (because I had already taken the tags off) and one dress I received Mon. Today...to pour salt on the wound...the one dress I kept is now $40 cheaper and I just received it 2 days ago. I am fed up with Dillard's policy of Not caring about a customer's experience and have initiated the return of the one dress I was going to keep. I know it will cost me another 9.95 to return but this is the final straw for me. Your policy is awful. It's shameful. It's Horrible customer service and I will NEVER buy anything form you again!!!

Think twice before ordering online from Dillard's. I do not live near one but I placed an online order since they had the shoes I wanted. I paid $10 shipping to recieve them. Well, the shoes ran big and it didn't state that so I had to pay $10 to return them and $10 more dollars to get the right size. I will not be ordering from them again. Most stores have free exchanges, free returns or free shipping but they don't get you on both ends. Customer service was no help at all. Very disappointed.

I called Dillard's customer service asking if I could have an exception to the return policy since I was a week overdue, but had just lost a grandchild, and had not been home to take care of anything during the past month. Customer service was rude, and just kept repeating I was a week overdue. I asked for a manager, and was told I could call the corporate office, I have called 4 times, and sat on hold for an hour, and they keep telling me I am the first in the que, but then they come back and tell me there are 2 calls ahead of me, and this cycle keeps repeating.
This had been a large purchase for a wedding, that I wasn't able to attend due to the loss of my grandchild, and I can't get any customer care help or anyone to answer at Dillard's Corporate Office. I am extremely disappointed in their lack of service and respect and will never purchase from them again. I will also make it very well known on social media what happened to me, and how I was treated by them. DO NOT EVER PURCHASE FROM DILLARDS.

I recommend that no one ever shops at Dillard's. Their customer service department and customer service supervisors are very rigid. I purchased an item for my disabled mother and due to her condition, not being able to try on the item until she felt better, the 30-day window to return was exceeded by 14 days. Even after explaining the circumstances and asking to at least be able to return the $129 item for store credit, I was denied by two separate customer service supervisors. When asked to speak with the next higher up supervisor I was told they were in a meeting. Unless you welcome a hassle if your item doesn't work out for you, and you don't mind being stuck with an item you can't use, I would recommend not ever shopping at Dillard's!

Your return policy was so bad that I went next-door to JCPenney’s, bought the same pants I wanted to return in the correct size and then walked back through Dillards to my car. Thanks for nothing Dillards.
