Equifax is the most deceitful, incompetent, dishonest, and corrupt company that I have ever dealt with in my 40 years of working with businesses throughout the country. I would give them a rating of -0 if it was an option. Do not pay this company a penny for anything, as they will take advantage of you once they have your credit card number and continue to charge you for things you did not authorize. When you try to call and get a person it takes over 1/2 hour to get through to someone and the incompetence on the other end doesn’t even begin to explain the lack of no service I received. The result… Nothing was resolved and I was still charged for something I did not authorize and the only recourse I have is to file a billing dispute with my bank. Equifax takes no responsibility in this matter and refused to give me a refund for a charge I did not authorize. They are fraudulent schemers, so be careful if you do business with them.

Have spent several hours trying to get through to Equifax by phone. I get disconnected after answering all their security questions and waiting patiently for a representative. Have no problems with the two other major credit bureaus.

I had my identity stolen. All information was submitted as they requested. They stated they never received the information after multiple calls and no resolution to the issues despite all banks involved, FTC, and other credit agencies resolving the issues on their end.

This Credit Bureau needs to stop trying to pull some angle as to why they can't help you, even after giving them all they asked for. No telling where your call is being forwarded to, any suggestions to have this looked into??!!!

Equifax doesn't answer the phone. I froze access to my account because of potential fraud, then 2 years later applied for a new credit card. The credit card company was unable to process my request without checking my credit with Equifax. I spent an hour on the phone waiting for an agent who directed me to reset my password. Their application failed to operate. The agent had no suggestions. Equifax is holding me hostage. I intend to visit them in person as my only recourse. My assessment: Equifax stinks.

The worst customer service experience of my 50 years. You can tell when a company knows they are above the law when the employees raise their voices at you, jeer, laugh all on separate occasions, and tell you to call back if you want to talk to a supervisor or someone else ...while laughing. They told me they can't see what I see on my credit report and say there really isn't anything I can do to remove the inaccurate item from my report. I had to escalate it to the **and then the attorney general if that doesn't work. Unfortunately, I can't afford an attorney right now.
In disbelief that this has affect on our lives so severely and our country is run this way and allows this. Because this company is serving somebody, some companies. And all of this is happening because Equifax entered something incorrectly, information regarding student loans. Nelnet and Department of Education said they cannot believe how it is possible for such human error on Equifax' part let alone not removed because Equifax says there is no way to verify the information. I think they make it this way on purpose.

Equifax is nothing more than a ripoff! Their headquarters in Atlanta Georgia of who you have to send sensitive information to in order to prove your identity and address was pointless! I still was able to obtain access to have my Equifax Credit Report online nor dispute all of the fraudulent information on my Equifax Credit Report, as well as speak to knowledgeable people at Equifax! My Experian and TransUnion Credit Reports shows 700, but Equifax shows 628! Make it make sense Equifax! What type of employees are working for your company Equifax, that have caused such havoc with consumers' personal yet sensitive information?
The government needs to do a deep investigation of Equifax employees, because it seems to be some type of corruption going on within! Equifax keeps sending responses by mail stating bogus information needed, after I have sent proof! Equifax is playing with consumers' livelihood and know a person credit reports play a big factor for consumers to obtain a job, roof over their family's head and transportation to get to work!

I don't know if the three credit bureaus are regulated in any way by the government but they should be. At least Equifax should be. My credit report SHOULD be updated every 30 days. I'm pretty sure when I do something to downgrade it, it is posted immediately. But pay off a credit card so you can better your score oh no that takes 90 days to get posted. At least that's what I was told by someone in the Philippines. And of course it's the bank's fault. Except I called the bank, they said they report every 30 days. I wonder who's LYING?? It's not the bank.

Equifax is one of the worst companies on the planet. They leaked my information and since then I have experienced a massive amount of identity theft. When it comes to repairing credit, they promised in the settlement a point person to help resolve and restore my credit. They purposely make this impossible to take advantage of. See the website here: **.
Also when I do dispute with the companies, all of their worked are from the Philippines and you have no accountability to enforce. You get a different person every time. Every time you communicate it takes 30 days. There is no investigation being done. They just do by whatever the creditors say. No one knows what they're doing over there. How is this type of company authorize to report our credit?

Spoke to Fred to ask why I couldn’t access Equifax, he was disrespectful and rude, kept doing it throughout the call, he told me my wrong birthday and I corrected him, he said that’s not what we have nor does any of your creditors, I felt he wasn’t telling the truth, he said this is probably why you can’t access your account. He gave me a list of things I had to do in order to fix this, I asked if the person that changed my birthday had to do the same thing, he wouldn’t answer. I honestly think he gave me the list of things to do because he enjoys annoying customers and he gave me the wrong birthday so that I would think I had to do something unnecessary.

They force you to call customer service and wait on hold in order to cancel your subscription. The service doesn't provide anything worth the cost. Customer service is rude. I'd give them a zero if I could, this company only exists to gouge consumers.

I am unable to get into my account. It said to call a number which I did. I waited for 10 minutes with the most God-awful crazy-making music ever! Then, spoke to an agent to recover my account for 30 min. He asked for SS, address, DOB, name, phone, etc. Should have been easily verifiable...but NOPE. Then wanted a copy of my DL which I said NO!!!! Then he attempted to verify another way and told me he could NOT! (IT IS ME!!!). Then, said his system went down and said to call back in 15 which I did. I got a virtual agent to try to reset my account and was also unable to verify it is me (IT IS ME!!!) and transferred me on hold for an agent where I waited and waited and hung up!!!! Imagine if you had identity theft and needed to speak to someone at Equifax and couldn't! And...they had a data breach to boot which is probably why they are making this so difficult! Totally frustrated and disgusted.

This company is the absolute worse, you call. They use AI to verify it’s you. Ask for your SSN, Address, date of birth and when you speak to someone they ask you the same thing and then want to send you a link to verify your driver license to make sure it’s you. So I have to go thru three different verifications just to ask a question, on top of that you have outsourced your customer support to India, Equifax is nothing but a scam.

They make it really hard to obtain your free annual credit report! Your choices with Equifax is either buy a plan on their website to obtain info or resort to snail mail. Equifax and other credit reporting agencies should not be in the lending business. They should not have the ability to raise or lower your credit score based on how much business you do with them. But that's exactly what they do.

They're horrible, tried to freeze and wasn't unable to login and failed the phone "security" test because they asked questions I have no way of knowing. There were loans my ex-husband did years ago. He probably doesn't remember. I didn't recognized any of the names mentioned, so I called. Same questions, we tried a picture from my drivers license and it didn't worked, after several tries I was told that I took too many tries. The pictures were all clear, I have a good camera on my phone. It took forever to get somebody on the line and customer service was very arrogant. I tried to freeze my credit because on another side where many inquires I didn't made. I'm may dealing with an identity thief and now I can't even freeze it.

I recently paid a personal loan of 9800.00, with Avant in full only after 11, months. For some reason Avant decided to report to Equifax - Paid in Full/ Closed, my credit score went down - not up, after I made significant efforts to increase same. Equifax stated that my credit was impacted because it reduced the time in years of credit history. I am 63 y/o with a credit history since 1980. Their formulas are horrendously flawed and not consumer friendly in my opinion.

When it comes to something as important as a credit report, consumers should have every option possible to fix inaccuracies as easily as a creditor can affect it. It seems as though creditors have more rights over our credit profile than we do. It's unfair that a consumer can't easily dispute inaccurate or unauthorized items. When it comes to hard inquiries from rate shopping, if there are several inquiries in a certain time frame, it would be good to see those inquiries categorized together so it's easier to tell they are considered as one inquiry. So, we know it's only affecting our score once. The way a consumer sees these, when reviewing a credit report, it appears as multiple inquiries, therefore they might be adversely affecting a credit score individually for each one.
From personal experience it's very difficult to contact a "request to delete" from these creditors because many creditors don't keep a record of the credit pull. To dispute a Hard Inquiry, it is required to obtain a request to delete from the creditor to move forward with the dispute. Even though rate shopping inquiries has a small effect, those few points literally make a difference to creditors. They have a bottom line for a minimum score to be considered for any credit applications. Please consider making the dispute process easier as well as categorizing rate shopping inquiries together so it's known that those are affecting a credit score as one.

I am not happy with Equifax products. When they get the money, it is so simple, but there is no online cancellation for their products. Unfortunately, most of the time, when getting a mortgage or renting a house, they ask for an Equifax credit report.

I needed to to a freeze on my credit (again) due to hackers in my medical insurance company. It was easy with Experian and Transunion BUT Equifax is horrible! They have a bunch of questions about your credit from years ago with the names of companies and dates that I did not even recognize. I tried to reach a human agent in every way their recorded message said and their website said but you just get caught in the same horrible automated system! I ordered a credit report from them because apparently you need to have it in front of you to verify you are who you say you are. I think every company doing business should have human help - it should be law!
