Luyuan recalls youth All-Terrain Vehicles

Luyuan of City of Industry, Calif., is recalling about 6,800 Luyuan youth All-Terrain Vehicles.

The vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the federal mandatory safety standard.

No incidents or injuries have been reported.

This recall involves Luyuan’s youth ATVs sold from August 2018, through August 2020, and intended for use by children ages 6 years and older, as demonstrated by the product dimensions and advertising.

They were also marketed on Amazon.com to children as young as 12 months of age and on Walmart.com to children age 5 years.

The model numbers include LY-ATV-40A, LY-ATV-40D, LY-ATV-40E and LY-ATV-40I.

The model number is printed on the hang tag and the brand name is printed on a sticker on the plastic body. The ATVs may have a label on the front frame, stating: “This ATV is subject to LUYUAN INC’s ACTION PLAN approved by U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on August 7, 2009” or a label on the motor stating: “IMPORTED BY LUYUAN, INC.”

Some of these ATVs were sold with GBMOTO or GoBowen branding. The ATVs were sold in various colors.

The ATVs, manufactured in China, were sold at Luyuan dealers nationwide, including Tool Store Go-Kart Shop, ATV Distributors, Four Seasons Power Sports, Mefast Wholesale, Toomey Tools, Steward Auto, A&S Auto, and Bounce it Off Motorsports, Go-bowen, Powersportsmax and Smokers Alley 2. The ATVs were also sold online at Amazon.com, Walmart.com, FamilyGoKarts.com, BigToysGreenCountry.com, Bigtoysusa.com and SaferWholesale.com from August 2018, through August 2020, for between $450 and $550.

What to do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ATVs and contact Luyuan for a free repair from an authorized repair shop.

Venom Motorsports recalls youth model ATVs

Venom Motorsports of Canada is recalling about 500 Venom youth All-Terrain Vehicles.

The vehicles do not meet mandatory safety requirements, including speed restrictions, posing a risk of serious injury or death.

No incidents or injuries are reported.

The recall involves Venom Motorsports’s youth electric and gas ATVs.

The ATVs have four wheels, and were sold in green/white, blue/black; black/orange, and white/orange colors. Venom is printed on the ATVs. T

he model number is printed on the black plate on the top of the left rear side of the tire.

Polaris recalls Phoenix 200 ATVs

Polaris Industries of Medina, Minn., is recalling about 14,000 model year 2011-2021 Phoenix 200 ATVs sold in the U.S. and Canada.

The throttle speed control stop can break and become stuck, posing a crash hazard.

The firm has received 18 reports of throttle stop breaking or sticking, including one report of a crash which resulted in a minor injury.

This recall involves all model year 2011 through 2021 Phoenix 200 all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) sold in red, blue or gray.

“Polaris” is decaled on the front body and the sides of the ATV seats and “Phoenix 200” is decaled on the side panels.

The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is located on the vehicle’s front left frame.

The ATVs, manufactured in Taiwan, were sold at Polaris dealers nationwide from September 2010 through June 2021 for between $3,500 and $4,300.

What to do

Polaris recalls model year 2020-2021 Slingshots

Polaris is recalling 4,744 model year 2020-2021 Slingshots.

The rear wheel studs may not have been fully pressed into the axle, possibly causing them to come loose.

Loose rear wheel studs could result in wheel detachment, increasing the risk of a crash.

What to do

Dealers will inspect and -- as necessary -- replace the rear axle/stud assembly free of charge.

The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification.

BRP recalls side-by-side vehicles

BRP U.S. of Sturtevant, Wis., is recalling about 34,400 model year 2020 – 2021 Can-AM Defender HD10 side-by-side vehicles.

The stock CVT air intake can become completely obstructed with snow causing the drive belt to overheat and break, posing a fire hazard.

The firm has received three reports of incidents involving fires. No injuries have been reported.

This recall involves model years 2020 and 2021 Defender HD10 side-by-side vehicles.

The 82 HP engine vehicles were sold in various colors and are equipped with track kits, the Apache 360 LT and the Apache Backcountry track systems, sold separately by BRP.

The model name and the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is printed on a label under the glove box.

The vehicles, manufactured in Mexico, were sold at Can-Am dealers nationwide from February 2019, through July 2021, for between $12,500 and $22,500 for the vehicles, and between $4,700 and $4,900 for the track systems sold separately.

Polaris recalls RZR ROVs

Polaris Industries of Medina, Minn., is recalling about 1,800 model year 2021 RZR Pro XP and RZR Pro XP 4 Recreational Off-Road Vehicles (ROVs) sold in the U.S. and Canada.

A raised edge on the machined surface of the turbocharger castings can result in an oil leak, posing a fire hazard.

No incidents or injuries are reported.

This recall involves model year 2021 RZR Pro XP and RZR Pro XP 4 ROVs sold in black, blue, gray, red, sand, silver, titanium and white. The vehicles have two or four seats.

POLARIS is stamped on the front grille and POLARIS and RZR are printed on the sides of the vehicle. A limited number of the turbocharger assemblies were sold as service parts.

Part number 3023738 appears on a rectangular area on the passenger side of the turbocharger.

The ROVs, manufactured in Mexico, were sold at Polaris dealers nationwide from November 2020, through June 2021, for between $23,000 and $34,000.

Polaris Recalls GENERAL ROVs

Polaris of Medina, Minn., is recalling about 1,530 model year 2021 GENERAL 1000, GENERAL 4 1000, GENERAL XP 1000 and GENERAL XP 4 1000 ROVs sold in the U.S. and Canada.

The weld between the brake pedal pivot bracket and the EPS mounting bracket can separate, which can result in a loss of brake function, posing a crash hazard.

No incidents or injuries are reported.

This recall involves Model Year 2021 GENERAL 1000, GENERAL 4 1000, GENERAL XP 1000, and GENERAL XP 4 1000 recreational off-highway vehicles.

The two or four-seat vehicles were sold in burgundy, gray, graphite, tan, titanium and white.

POLARIS is stamped on the front grille and POLARIS and GENERAL are printed on the sides of the vehicles.

The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is located on the left rear vehicle frame below the cargo box.

The ROVs, manufactured in Mexico, were sold at Polaris dealers nationwide from March through May 2021, for between $16,300 and $27,700.

BRP recalls model year 2021 ATVs

BRP U.S. of Sturtevant, Wis., is recalling about 4,600 model year 2021 Can-Am Outlander and Renegade ATVs.

The steering knuckle can detach from the lower arm, resulting in a loss of control of the vehicle, posing a crash hazard.

The firm has received one reported incident of a detached steering knuckle resulting in the rider losing control and crashing. No injuries were reported.

This recall involves 44 model year 2021 Can-Am Outlander and Renegade models sold in various colors.

The model name is printed on the side panels of the vehicles.

The vehicle identification number (VIN) is printed on the frame under the seat in the middle and on the frame behind the right front wheel.

Polaris recalls RZR ROVs

Polaris of Medina, Minn., is recalling about 32 model year 2021 RZR PRO XP and RZR PRO XP 4 ROVs.

The vehicles were manufactured without copper seal washers on the turbocharger’s oil supply line, which can result in an oil leak, posing a fire hazard.

The firm has received one report of a leak in the oil supply line. No fires, injuries or property damage have been reported.

This recall involves model year 2021 RZR PRO XP and RZR PRO XP 4 off-road vehicle sold in black, gray, red, sand, titanium and white. The vehicles have two or four seats.

Polaris recalls Ranger ROVs and ProXD Utility Vehicles

Polaris of Medina, Minn., is recalling about 16,500 Model Year 2020-2021 RANGER 1000, RANGER CREW 1000, RANGER XP 1000, and RANGER CREW XP 1000 and Model Year 2020 ProXD 2000G, ProXD 2000G H, ProXD 4000G and ProXD 4000G H vehicles.

The throttle pedal can return to the idle position more slowly than anticipated once the pedal is released or stick in the depressed position, posing a crash hazard.

The firm The firm has received 52 reports of throttle pedals returning to the idle position slowly or sticking, including six reports of vehicle crashes resulting in minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.

This recall involves model year 2020-2021 RANGER 1000, RANGER CREW 1000, RANGER XP 1000, and RANGER CREW XP 1000 recreational off-highway vehicles and model year 2020 ProXD 2000G, ProXD 2000G H, ProXD 4000G, and ProXD 4000G H off-road utility vehicles.

The vehicles were sold in black, blue, burgundy, camo, gray, green, orange, red, sand, tan, titanium, and white.

The RANGER vehicles have three or six seats and the ProXD vehicles have two or four seats. Both have “POLARIS” stamped on the front grille.

The model number and VIN are printed on a portion of the left rear frame (on the driver’s side of the vehicle) under the cargo box.

The vehicles, manufactured in the U.S and Mexico, were sold at Polaris dealers nationwide from April 2020, through January 2021, for between $13,000 and $31,000.

Yamaha recalls Wolverine ROVs

Yamaha Motor Corporation U.S.A., of Cypress, Calif., is recalling about 820 model year 2021 Wolverine RMAX4 1000 Recreational Off-Highway Vehicles (ROVs).

The vehicles’ rear shock absorber mounts can break, posing crash and injury hazards.

The firm has received one report of the rear shock absorber breaking loose. No injuries have been reported.

This recall involves model year 2021 Wolverine 1000 RMAX4 recreational off-highway vehicles, a list of which may be found here.

The side-by-side vehicles were sold in blue, green and gray. The model name is shown on the side of the vehicle.

Bombardier Recreational Products U.S. (BRP) of Sturtevant, Wis., is recalling about 172 model year 2021 Can-Am Outlander and Renegade All-Terrain Vehicles.

A rear wheel can separate from the vehicle and cause a loss of control, posing a crash hazard.
