    My experience with Star Van Lines has been extremely disappointing. I was quoted $4,409 for a long‑distance move from MA to AZ (which ended up being wayyy more btw). My things were picked up on Feb 16 and I was told delivery would take 10-14 days from pickup. The quick delivery window is the ONLY reason I decided to use their services. After my furniture was picked up, communication completely stopped. I reached out on Feb 24 for an update and learned (only because I called) that my belongings were still sitting in Massachusetts. Weather was used as an excuse, even though my items were picked up before the snow storm and sat untouched for 10–12 days. No one notified me of delays, no one explained why my things were moved into storage without my knowledge, and no one could tell me why they weren’t placed on earlier west‑coast trucks.

    Instead of accountability, I received defensiveness, rudeness, and repeated references to their “21‑day delivery window,” as if that excused the lack of communication and unnecessary delay. I was never told there were two delivery options (Standard vs. Premium), and I was misled to believe my items would be on a west‑coast truck arriving by Feb 23–25. My furniture wasn’t actually loaded for transport until Feb 27 (twelve days after pickup) and I was told it would take up to another week to arrive. Meanwhile, I’ve had to buy essentials for myself and my 8‑year‑old because we have nothing to sleep on or use in our home since moving in on the 21st!

    I’ve made two long‑distance moves before and have never experienced anything this unacceptable or unreasonable. The lack of honesty, transparency, and basic customer service is unacceptable. I will not be recommending Star Van Lines to anyone and hope they (along with their 3rd party partners) take responsibility for the financial and emotional stress this has caused.

    I was deceived. Spoke with Justin at Star Van Lines. Was told they were not a broker, that they pick up our move and same guys drive it to FL. Wrong! Star Van Lines did not pick up. Another company picked up and told me we exceeded the cubic square feet in the truck. What? I told them I had 100 boxes, a couple of bikes and some art work. I was never told about cubic feet. I don’t even know how to measure cubic feet. I paid Star Van Lines $2300 and then this other company charged me another $2500. What a scam!! It gets better. I finally get a text that our things are going to be delivered 9 days later. Just said 5 days max. The company making the delivery is Tiptop Van Lines and wants remaining payment on delivery. At least four boxes were leaking liquids because the boxes were handled/probably thrown around so often. Do not work with this company.

      The worse company to help you move. Hard to believe there are positive reviews on this site. This company does not communicate. They hold your furniture hostage until you pay the higher amount to move. They don't take credit. Everything had to be paid via wire money. Provided estimate for a move of $13, 000. Ended up $22,000. Do not, do not, use this company to move. No honesty. No integrity and will hustle you out of money!! A lot of missing items damaged items paid for insurance and no one's returning my calls!!!!

      I received an estimate from Fred for my move at approx. $3,300. Today the movers are here and refuse to take the items for the price estimated. They will only take it for $5,100 approx. Fred has been completely unresponsive to my calls and only sends a few unhelpful short texts. Avoid this company. Hopefully my items make it to their final destination. Absolutely ridiculous at how unresponsive he is.

      WORST MOVING COMPANY TO EVER EXIST. This company lacks professionalism and communication. I would not trust them with any move that is time sensitive. As requested, I gave them a down deposit, but the agent I booked with did not notify the movers of my appointment, so the day of my move the movers did not have me in their schedule. After calling 4 different numbers over 10 times, they finally told me hours after my appointment window already ended that they could not help me. Use any company, except this one.

      Do not use this company! Very unprofessional and unethical. Changed the date to arrive, the day of! When they finally arrived (36 hours later) they tried to DOUBLE the cost. Claimed we had more items than listed on contract which was not the case. They said we had a king bed but it was a full size bed. Also stated we had “way more boxes” than what was listed. The contract stated 16 medium boxes and we only had 15 (I even had them numbered). We argued with them for over a hour until they finally honored the contract. Contract included 30 days of storage. Furniture was to be delivered the week of July 14. I had to call them multiple times, asking for a delivery date. Would not give me a date. Finally got the number to the manager (?) Nick. After calling him multiple times over a 5 day period, we finally got a delivery date. Furniture was finally delivered August 14! Very shady and questionable organization!

      I am STILL in the process of moving from Colorado to Pennsylvania. Star Van Lines seemed like a legit and good quality company with prices lower than most (that should’ve been my first clue). Even after my price went up after they loaded my stuff onto the truck (I did use more square feet than I was quoted so totally understandable). They said they would hold my belongings for free for up to a month, which worked perfectly because I was supposed to stay in an Airbnb until I found my own place. Fast forward 3 weeks after they loaded my stuff… I found my own place and contacted them to set up a delivery date. Well here I am three weeks later and they're lying to me every chance they get. They'll only text me. They won't ever call. And when I am anything but pleasant through text, they completely ghost me! Just give me my stuff!!!!

      Great job!!! Not going to lie. I almost didn't move with you guys because of your reviews. However, my rep Fred assured me the move would be the best move I've ever had. So, I rolled the dice. And Fred delivered on his word! Movers were at my door at 8am sharp in port saint lucie, fl. They had my 3 bedroom home disassembled and everything wrapped before 10:30am they loaded my stuff "With care" I might add. Told me they would be in north carolina in 2 days. Met the same crew in nc 2 days later. And again, the movers (John and Scott) knocked it out the park! I tipped each guy $150.00 because they earned that! Had my house set up to where all I had to do was plug in my tv and grab the remote! I definitely will recommend star van lines to anyone I know moving and if I need to move again. Fred, ill be giving you a call.

      Do not book with this company. It is a waste of your time and money. I have left voicemails. I have sent emails and I have not heard back from anyone regarding my move that I put down money for. Because my lease was up, I had to vacate my apartment and move everything by myself. These people are not trustworthy. They do not communicate and I am almost certain it’s fraud at this point. I was told I would be contacted and no contact has been made. It has been a week now.

      I was told a time the movers would be there and they showed up 4 hours late, once my furniture was loaded they tried to charge me more than stated on contract. Also, I was told my furniture would arrive to my new location in 2-3 days, but delivery wasn’t made until 10 days later. Also, the Star Van Lines representative (Fred) called me 2 to 3 times a day for my deposit and once paid, the representative (Fred) stopped answering my calls. I will never use this company again!!

      I would NOT recommend Star Van Lines ever. I used them to move from Florida to TN. They were a day and a half late coming to pick up my items. They were supposed to be at my place on Friday, (they called me back and stated they were having truck issues, and would be out at 0800 Saturday) they showed up on Saturday at 11:30 am. Zero contact.

      I called the broker and dispatch, the driver is who finally contacted me, as neither the customer service or broker (Justin) could give me any time answers. Then when the truck arrived it was a 27ft uhaul. They do not have their own moving vans. They also only sent one person to load my items and that was the driver, I ended up having to load the truck myself.

      After getting my items loaded the price went from $2000 (agreed upon price) to $3100 as the driver stated that I had more items than what the broker put on their list to pick up. I again called the broker(Justin) and customer service (Mary) as I was not prepared to pay additional money. After two hours of a back and forth conversation, I finally agreed on paying $700 dollars more for my move. Star Van Lines stated that I would have my items in TN at my new residence by Tuesday or Wednesday.

      It is now Friday and after making multiple calls since Thursday to locate my items, and have a delivery time, I finally received a phone call back from Mary (customer service) who does not know where my items or the truck is at. She stated that once the truck is in route the driver will call 24 hours in advance to set up a delivery time. Which means that they have zero idea where my belongings are, and it also tells me that they are not even route to my residence. Basically, my items have been sitting in a 27ft Uhaul on some drop yard or wherever for seven days now.

      How does a moving company not have any idea where a person’s belongings are? Also, be aware that this company only takes cash, Venmo, or Zelle, and even that is a personal account (Mary’s) with Star Van Lines in the subline, under her name. I would not recommend using this company at all. They are unorganized, they do not have good communication and they have no idea what they are doing.

      If I do not get my items soon, I will sue them for the amount of my household goods as well as my money paid for this horrible experience. I have taken pictures of my contract and all of my items loaded, for documentation and verification. If, you do decide to use this awful company, I would advise you to document everything, and use extreme caution. I have used multiple movers in the past for out of state moves and I have NEVER had an issue like this. This is the worst experience ever.

The booking process was smooth, and on the day of the move, they showed up early and ready. The team was friendly and efficient — no rushing, no dragging things out either. What really impressed us was how they dealt with a tricky stairwell at our old place. They navigated it like pros, and not a single wall got scratched.       DO NOT BOOK THIS MOVING COMPANY. I cannot emphasize how horrible they were in every way except one…. When they were attempting to book my business and were calling me every 30 minutes. My moving costs were almost double what they quoted me, and they charged me extra for everything possible, including having 10 steps to climb up instead of 7. I feel like it was a classic bait and switch tactic. They loaded my items onto the moving van before telling me that it would be another $3,000 because they were "heavier" than anticipated…. And then the day before arrival they said the van couldn't get to my street and they had to get a smaller shuttle that would cost $2,000.

      My dresser arrived with a hole in the bottom and my white chairs are still stained, even after a thorough upholstery cleaning. There is a different contact person in every state to not return my phone calls, they conveniently didn't provide a detailed inventory list, and now they are offering me a paltry $60 for my damages. Are you kidding? The dresser alone cost $2000.

      When I had to plan my move from Bradenton, Florida to Las Vegas, Nevada, I read so many different reviews from so many different companies and was absolutely terrified! When I came across the reviews for Star Van Lines. I reached out and contacted them after receiving a call and text from Justin **. The moment I spoke with Justin, I felt so much at ease. He was so straightforward and honest and transparent in pricing and I felt very confident that I had made the right choice. I was not pressured. I was not rushed. I was sent a proposal and allowed the time to review it and make my decision if I wanted to give a down payment or not. Justin did not disappoint. My items were picked up on the schedule day at the scheduled time and they arrived well before my expectations as a matter of fact, they arrived before I did, but I had a storage unit set up and my brother was there.

      I would love to give a great big shout out to the actual mover. Who did my move, Serhii **! He transported my life’s belongings from Florida to Nevada. He kept in touch with me, gave me his personal cell phone and all went amazingly perfect. I did not have any up charges. I did not have any extras. My items were not held hostage as you read in so many reviews from so many different companies. I highly recommend Star Van Lines for your next life’s journey.

      Updated on 05/14/2025: Just look at these boxes and mirrors, shattered and crushed. No regard for my things. Items never received. They had the gall to call and ask me to take this down as it might affect their company. Really? What about my things. Items that are irreplaceable and just bent, broke and horrifying. Do not use this company. Ever!

      Original: This experience was absolutely the worst. Stressful. No one knew what the other was doing. No one showed up on time, spoke English, knew how to pack properly. All my items that actually showed up were either scratched, broke, ALL CRUSHED BOXES, not mine, or completely MISSING. Mirrors and TVs shattered.       I had called a couple of other places before calling Star Van Lines, but they were the most responsive. I received a call back from a gentleman, and we got things set up. They listed down everything that I had to move, and their company rates it based on how much stuff that I had. The first day that we had it scheduled, they weren't able to come on time, so I had to reschedule for the next day.

      Once they got here, we didn’t have any problems at all. Those guys were awesome, super friendly, and communicative. They understood our situation. They got our stuff up to the storage unit, and organized it there. It was a very simple process. I even gave them a tip. They charged a little extra because they had to use a few more things, so at first I felt like I paid too much. But with the level of service and the way they packed everything and how they did it, I couldn't ask for a better thing. I was thankful and happy to have them help. We were very satisfied.

      Updated on 04/24/2025: Quick update…. This company tried to buy me out of my previous bad review… I told them I would be willing if they compensated me the correct amount of the damaged items. They came back with another incredibly low ball offer. So now we know they get good reviews and or don’t have many bad ones… Please don’t trust this company

      Original Review: I am leaving this review out of the sheer disrespect the unprofessionalism and the stress, anxiety, time, effort, and money that I put in to this company. The customer should not be calling almost every single day for over three months to get compensation for damaged items and for three days straight, wondering where their stuff is with no answer so here is my review below.

      The fact that this company is still up and running is astonishing to me, however upon research, this is also the third or fourth name that this company has had due to multiple FM SCA and DOT complaints. After speaking with what I thought was an honest person, Adrian and the amount of times that he assured me, our move would not be sold to random movers and that unless we had an outstanding amount of extra things, the quote that we received which was $4000 would not go any higher.

      However, when the movers arrived, they informed me that we had to pay another $4000 due to the fact that it was more than what was on the inventory list. Which honestly we did, I’ll be honest however when I spoke to Adrian, he told me to give them the big ticket items the amount of boxes that we had and our large large furniture like beds, dressers, couch, fridge, washer dryer he did not tell me to name the little fan or the stepstool that my kids used and things of that nature. They had already loaded a third of our stuff into the truck and told us that they could not unload it or load anymore until we signed this contract. It was also a little sketchy that they would only take same-day payment.

      The movers were also four hours late after loading everything on the truck they told us that our stuff would be delivered the next day, however after three days of not talking to anybody or hearing from anybody from the company and calling multiple people multiple times a day on the third day we finally spoke to someone and they told us that if we wanted our stuff delivered the next day we would have to pay an extra 800 and something dollars or our stuff would be delivered in 3 to 21 business days. We paid the 800. The movers arrived three hours late. They loaded all our stuff into the house upon our contract. It stated that the movers would reassemble all our furniture however they did not. We had multiple things damaged, scratched, broken, missing. We had two boxes of canned good and pantry items missing. We had another two boxes missing both of our toddlers' beds were broken.

      We had scratches on our washer. Dryer are safe. Multiple pieces of furniture were scratched and had holes in them. Our couch was ripped. After going through the process of the insurance claim and with the $.60 on the dollar the damages were $2145. The insurance company came back with an offer of $89 because they said just because we scratched it and you can still use it doesn’t mean it’s damaged and we should have to pay for it. I’m sorry but damaged is damaged. After 3 months of me calling Star Van Lines every single day for three months straight we finally agreed upon a $500 settlement. They told me they would zelle it and then they never Zelle the payment. They told me they would send a check after over a week of them telling me they would zelle it that day. They finally Zelle me the 200 and they sent a check but I never received and they have not Zelle the remaining $300.

      This company lies. They cheat. They steal. They scam and if I can do anything, it’s to hope and pray that nobody falls victim to this company again if you have use this company, please go file with the FMSCA to file complaint. It is very easy. The more complaints they have the easier it is to get them shut down and not be able to scam anyone else the amount of positive comments and reviews that are on here. I genuinely wanna talk to those people personally and know the experience that they had because the bad reviews definitely outweigh the good ones. I pray for the people in this company and know that God is just and fair and they will get theirs. This is a true and honest review. I have multiple screenshots, receipts, and documentation. We’ve hired professional movers before, and they never conducted business.

      The big thing for me was the utter disrespect they had with not calling me back, not doing what they said they would do and not owning up to their own mistakes. Things happen. I understand that own up to it pay your dues and move on everyone within this company is a terrible person And it’s just crazy to me that there are people out there like that. I know this is a long review and I hope you read it to the end if you were looking to hire this company or you have already hired this company there are things that you can do to file against them and I hope that you do it.
