Currently in midst of state of emergency as declared by governor in Northern Michigan. Multiple trees coated with .75” of ice and were actively falling around me; entry and exit blocked and unable to get cars out. Gathered essential medical items and clothes and went to stay with family 2 hours away. Started claim process this morning not knowing how long this is going to last. Got a call back and the person from Farm Bureau was offensive and totally focused on what they were not responsible, but did ask “well since you don’t have power what are you doing to keep your pipes from freezing” and then telling me that because I don’t have power, water, heat etc and regadless of the danger is not their problem that I can’t stay there. After this I will be changing insurance companies.

Won't bore with the reader with the details. I've read several reviews that state that the insurance company continuously increases premiums and never pays. I'd say that has been exactly my experience. Premiums went from $800 to $2550 in 4 years. A good company if you never intend to file a claim.

Georgia Farm Bureau in Habersham County Ga. is a Insurance Company you might want to avoid by all means. We recently shopped for competing Homeowners Insurance Rates with Allstate Insurance. After talking with the Allstate Agent, we discovered that someone in the Georgia Farm Bureau Office in Habersham County Georgia had filed a Insurance Claim against our Policy to pay for a Roof Inspection done by one of their employees (Chase **). Although I filed a claim to get a new roof, I was denied. A week or 10 days later I received a notification that I needed to repair or replace my roof, to which I had already been denied. So, imagine my surprise when the Allstate agent told me a claim had been paid on my denied claim. Unethical, unprofessional & totally unacceptable.

Eagle Surveying Company headquartered in Texas was also paid money filed against our Homeowners Policy. I end up paying for a new roof on my home. I, Bobby ** am a unhappy Ga. Farm Bureau Policy Holder and Ga. Farm Bureau Member. All these claims can be proven buy a paper trail and the Habersham County Georgia Farm Bureau Office in Mt. Airy, Georgia.

I had tornado damage to my roof with shingles blown off, hail damage and they refused to fix it right. Just a partial repair so now my house will look like total crap unless I pay the remaining which is 10,000 to 13,000 dollars. They also took 40 days to pay they amount they agreed to. Tennessee is a match state which means they have to match existing shingles which the rooking company could not. Farm Bureau said they don't care.

With this company I have nothing but trouble getting them to be honest and pay up on my roof claim for hail damage. Adjuster Eric and his boss Wes have undershot estimates and show little knowledge of the product they are responsible for replacing. Many calls and useless phone calls and still they insist on giving me the run around. If you want an insurance that will protect your property and not their bottom line go somewhere besides Farm Bureau! I will.

Storm 1/16/22 in Georgia blew down a partial part of my fence and caused water damage in my kitchen. Farm Bureau wants to charge 2 separate claims and deductibles, ($1,000 each). They had someone to come out and state that he didn't see a leak in roof but wasn't sure. Claims agent stated that it might be from pipes and said it could be maintenance from wear and tear but couldn't be sure. Well how do I find out? He said call a plumber yet couldn't suggest one because they don't employ any and have none for referral. Also stated that they don't reimburse for a plumber's charge to see what the problem is. This makes absolutely no sense. WHY DO I PAY FOR HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE if I'm not getting any help. How can you decide on a claim when you have not accessed the problem. Isn't this your job?

I have a open floor plan. Adjuster stated they they will cover 2 ceilings and that a good painter should be able to match the ceilings from 1995 (popcorn ceilings). Really? If you don't already know, The Insurance Commissioner will be involved in this complaint, but I wanted to let as many people as possible know, do not insure with Farm Bureau Insurance.

We have 6 kids. They stop paying our rent in Jan 2021. Covid came in could not build or do work. Wood prices increase. No help. Builders could not work for over three months. No time added on for rent knowing we could not work. Always on time with payments for them. They were and still not there when we needed them.

I have been a customer of Farm Bureau for approximately 15 and 1/2 years. In that time I have had zero claims. I've also had zero contact from the first person who was my agent. When farm bureau sent me a survey wanting to know how my contact with that first agent was I was completely honest. I said I've never spoken to him. This of course infuriated him and my guess is he put in some nasty little comments about me. After that he claimed in a very rude email that I still have no one wanted to deal with me. All I said was the truth. I've never spoken to the man. Well after some more bad experiences with their customer service they transferred to me to an agent that is in the same town I am in. My experience with him has been almost as bad as the first guy. I emailed letting them know that I had gotten a quote from another large national insurance company that was $250 a year less than their company. That's a pretty significant savings for me.

However I wanted to give them the opportunity to see if we could do something to make my cost with farm bureau even remotely close to what it was with the other national insurance company. I received back an email telling me that well the last time they run my credit I wasn't that great and probably wasn't going with a company that offered the right stuff and blah blah blah. Seriously folks you've taken my money for 15 and 1/2 years and never cost you a crying dime and you can't even be nice to me. I am calling the other insurance company tomorrow to verify the price and what they cover and if they're even the same cost as the other company I think I need to change because I work customer service. And when my customer service is bad I get fired. I can't believe how this company treats people.

The folks at Farm Bureau are friendly, helpful, and sincerely concerned with taking care of their customers. They prioritize service to the most severely impacted when necessary. For example, after a major storm when inspectors were spread thin, they took care of people who were out of their homes before inspecting my damaged outbuilding. I really appreciated that because if my home had been damaged I would want the process to go as fast as possible. The agent listened, was understanding, and offered good advice. Farm Bureau has always come through for me.

I just found out that Farm Bureau has overcharged me for 15 years. I submitted the square footage and price of my home when I purchased it for them to cover it with Home Owners insurance. They inflated my square feet from 1320 to 1800 and then use the square footage to plug into a program to determine the total coverage they put on the policy.

After getting to $203,000 on a $129,000 home I questioned the latest agent (seems like a new one every year as they pass my policy around) and they pointed to the 1800 sq ft as the reason my insurance amount was so high and thus my policy so expensive. Since they started charging 2% of total policy coverage for a deductible they have been jacking up the total coverage ever year. This is how they overcharged me $600 on my deductible to have my roof replaced. When all this was pointed out to Farm Bureau management, they basically told the agent they would "correct" the policy for the last 6 months at approximately $18 a month.

They think that is reasonable for overcharging me over $3750 over the years. They essentially said, you didnt catch it so too bad for you that we screwed you all these years. BEWARE of the this predatory practice!!! Check your square footage on your policies and watch as they jackup the total coverage amount every year to charge you more for your policy but more importantly to charge you higher deductibles on wind or storm damage!!!

After 3 increases my premiums were double than when I first started. I stopped believing their lies and went directly to another insurance which quoted me a premium of about 70% less. I switched and now am trying to get my prepaid annual premium back from them. They claimed it was sent directly to my bank but my bank claims it should have been sent directly to me. This company is unbelievable. My sister caused a problem at the Union City, TN office because she was mad at my Mother and they cancelled all her insurance without any written notice. Wish I could sue them. I became her POA in January and we received NO written or verbal communication they just stopped taking her monthly payments out of her checking account. What is even worse Mom is in the nursing home and I found out Friday they had cancelled her supplemental Medicare insurance. No notice I was told by the nursing home.

Mom and my late Father were with Farm Bureau for almost 50 years. The more horrible thing is that they did NOT cancel my sister's insurances with them. What is that about? I am on a mission to stop anyone from buying Farm Bureau of any kind. I also have found that State Farm is 100% better. They do NOT prorate your roof when you need a new one. Hope that very soon there is no Farm Bureau because they always cheat their oldest customers. Horrible.

We expected our insurance company to protect us or represent us from a frivolous trespass claim with a slightly senile neighbor. Claim and representation was denied even though we have $1 million umbrella policy. We had to hire our own attorney. Then when our yacht moored in Lake Ponderay suffered engine room damage in spite of our best efforts to prevent freeze damage we were denied again with an agent who could care less about covering our loss and using an exclusion in our policy that essentially renders our boat insurance worthless and probably best we didn't suffer a total loss on the boat as it would not have been covered either… In short after two claims, both of which were denied and would've been covered by any other insurance I am spending my $4000 a year in policy coverage anywhere else! As far as I'm concerned, this insurance company is good only until you file a claim and then they have proved worthless…

We have been with Farm Bureau since we bought our home in 2014. We didn't filed a claim until this year when a pipe burst under our home and caused water damage to the subflooring causing a huge weak spot on our floor in the kitchen. The linoleum flooring is the only thing keeping people from falling through. We filed a claim, we were low balled and sent a check for less than half of what it would cost to repair. We filed a supplemental claim and was told we would not be charged an additional deductible since it was a supplemental claim attached to the initial claim.

That was a lie. They charged us $1000 both times and deducted "depreciation" costs both times as well. The supplemental check was barely over $200. Icing on the cake the agent (Tucker) who was suppose to give his estimate, still has not sent it to us so we can send it with the check to our mortgage company to be signed and here we are 2 months later with a hole in the floor and a worthless check because a lazy agent is never able to be reached, never returns calls, allegedly is never in his office and has yet to do his actual job so we can fix our floor before one of us or or 6 kids falls through and gets hurt. I would not recommend this company or that agent to anyone. We will be switching to a more capable company with agents who have better work ethics. I would not even give this company a 1 star but I had to rate in order to submit.

They denied my roof claim two years ago. I had to come up with $10,000 to fix the roof and damage inside. I guess “it wasn’t storm damage” so it wasn’t covered. Today, I was informed that my basement flooding wasn’t covered. If a pipe burst and flooded it though, it would be. Favorite quote of the day (it’s early, there’s time for more) “ Your policy literally covers everything but the exclusions.”

For the years we have been paying and using it I thought we are entitled to getting our roof fixed. We are going to withdraw all our insurances with them. Car, home everything. What is the use of having an insurance company if they only suck up your money and fulfill their job when you need them. :(

All in all I did have a good past with Farm Bureau Insurance. This was until I needed them. The adjustor came to look at the problem, glass broke on the storm door. Adjustor said he would replace the door, hard to find specialty size, etc. And pay for the glass clean up. Said it would be around 700 dollars, acted like it would all be paid. This is when I learned without my knowledge my deductible had been increased without my knowledge to 1000.00. I trust the insurance to be honest, but mistake. I called the agent and was told it was increased several years earlier due to some tornadoes hitting somewhere in the area 6 or 7 years earlier. Said I should have been notified, of course should of been never happened, that I remember.

They took it on their own to up the deductible price stayed the same for the year. I usually just pay and go on, you know you cannot trust the insurance, you hear so many bad things. Yes they were always nice to me when I paid my yearly auto, life, homeowners, and membership. Just do not file a claim. If the take it on their loan to change their deductible, it seems they would do it on any of their products, medical insurance, Medicare supplement policies, auto, it has been an awakening. Read all the print, I want to go over my policies to see if I have any coverage that is worth what I pay. I put my trust in them, so they feel they can do what they want. Lesson learned! I don't see where they have the right to change my deductibles, and not lower my homeowners.

The adjustor was arrogant, and had me under the impression that things were covered, then got smarty, and told me they up you decide titles in that area, and nothing was paid, had me going for over a month acting as thought payment, clean up, and replacement was happening, knowing all along nothing was going to be paid. When I called the office they were quick to tell me as though they had had many calls over the last year's of people that were not aware of the deductible Farm Bureau took on their own to increase.
