    Assurant has good process for trading in phones. It was easy. The website had all the information you would need to print labels; make sure to save the box your I-phone was shipped to you. It's perfect size to mail your phone back. Choose to send back USPS or UPS, drop inside so you have proof of the date you sent it.

    As far as my process in getting a new phone and covering it with insurance it was simple. I have had to use Assurant once before to replace a broken screen and I personally didn't think the Company covered the price of the change as much as I expected. It still cost me out-of-pocket more than I expected.

    My replacement phone was in the mail within the next day but I prefer to be able to walk into my local store to fix my phone or replace my phone with my insurance. Unfortunately, that wasn't an option for me. In the future, I would like Assurant to be inside of local stores in Detroit to fix the problem on hand.

    It started complicated at first with me going to T-Mobile store. They helped me file a claim, inspected my device and put me on conference call with Assurant. Turned out the first Assurant rep, after qualifying my claim and got all my info, assured me of the replacement, did not complete the claim and left me hanging waiting for my device. After waiting for a few days and wondering when and where the replacement device is, I called again and the 2nd rep was really helpful and processed my claim to completion. He was also wondering why it was left hanging. I eventually got my replacement device and the activation was easy. Thankful I got a very helpful rep on my 2nd call.

    Not worth paying insurance for iPhone insurance through Assurant. My phone is not charging properly, they wanna charge me $200 to replace an iPhone 11, but I can buy a iPhone 13 for $160 at Walmart. I been paying for insurance all this time for nothing, I’m very disappointed with Assurant and Metro. This insurance is not helping me, I've been suckered!!!

    I had a very disappointing experience with Assurant. I filed a claim to repair a cracked phone screen, expecting a straightforward process, especially after being a loyal Verizon customer for 19 years and consistently paying for insurance without ever using it. Instead of offering reasonable repair options, I was told the only available location was over 35 miles away—in another state. They refused to ship parts to a closer store or provide any alternative solutions. The only other option they gave me was to pay for a replacement phone that I don’t even need.

    After nearly two decades of paying for coverage, this felt incredibly frustrating and unfair. When you finally need the service you’ve been paying for, you expect support—not limited, inconvenient options that push you toward spending more money. Overall, this experience has left me very disappointed. The lack of flexibility and customer-focused solutions makes the insurance feel misleading and not worth the cost.

    It didn't take the representative five minutes before, She started the process of having my phone replaced and getting it shipped out to me.     I drove over my tablet by accident. I filed a claim and 3 days later, I have a new tablet. So in short, if you do not have 360 protection, get it. You need it for a day like I had.     The process is far too complicated on a T-Mobile phone, and it seems that it must be accepted by consumers because there is no real resolution. Filing a claim for a lost phone was an issue from the initial claim page. It asks for the phone number or IEMI. If either is used, it will prompt a message to receive a code -- to that phone. I entered my primary number, and it was accepted, but it created a serious flaw. Even after providing the "lost" phone details, the claim was denied. I found this out when I didn't get an approval email or text, and it was an arduous journey to get a live operator. I was repeatedly referred to "mytmoclaim.com".

    I finally was in touch with a customer service rep, then had to be transferred to a manager or supervisor. After a long process, I had to cancel the claim and refile. This ultimately leads to complications on "Track your claim". It will show the "Claim Closed" and not the new one. Selecting the "Track another claim" will result in the same circular process.

    Please note: if a phone is lost or stolen, call and have the line suspended, and then file a claim. They will want to know who used the phone last, the date of the file, and the birthday of the primary account holder, for any follow-ups. One will continually be referred to the initial claim (mytmoclaim) page with an option to file a new claim or track an existing claim, and the issue is circular. In this "Share Your Experience", I cannot be considered a "Verified Buyer" without submitting a receipt, which is complicated for some of us. Why does Assurant not have the covered phones on file? The process needs to be fixed and simplified.

    My issue was due to a swollen battery issue. Not something that was accidental damage. I don't believe I should have had to pay a deductible since I was not the cause the issue, this was a manufacturer issue. If the battery would have exploded while I had the phone up to my ear. It could have caused injury to my face and ear.

    I dropped my phone in water and filed a claim 48 hours ago. Trying to file a claim was a nightmare. First person told me I gave her the wrong pin AFTER KEEPING ME ON HOLD 10 MIN...I HADN'T. Without telling me she was transferring me, I find myself talking with T-Mobile, who assured me I had given the correct pin. Back to Assurant...2nd woman said she couldn't hear me and hung up on me. 3rd person kept wanting to send me a text to verify I was who I said I was....My daughter was home so I was able to do that. After 2 hours back and forth between T-Mobile and Assurant, I was told they needed my ID...I already gave 2 text codes. My PIN, address and the IMEI number to my phone and explained I had no other phone or computer...Why did they need ID????

    I've had cell phones for 21 years and have never been required to upload ID. I had to DRIVE to my local T-Mobile store to file a claim, upload my ID and pay $53 deductible. It's been 48 hours and I'm being told my claim is in review and I'll have a decision in 3 to 5 days!!!! I've been paying $13 per month insurance for 2 1/2 years and it's an old model Samsung...WTF???? I'm 67 and having foot surgery tomorrow. I won't be able to walk or cook for myself. All my contact numbers are on my phone, this is abuse. I'm filing a claim with the BBB and Consumer Fraud tomorrow morning. When I was with Verizon and Asurion, I had a phone sometimes same day as claim....if not, the next day. Insane. I'm switching back to Verizon because of this. Too bad, I like my service with T-Mobile and their customer service are nice. I cannot be without a phone for a week. I'm disabled and depend on my phone.

    My husband's phone is cracked very badly, so we went through the process to get a replacement. They claimed they updated our address, but still ended up sending the replacement to the wrong house. When we called to get the situation fixed, they said they would send a new one to the new address, but it never came and now they are saying if he wants a replacement, he has to send more money. So they are wanting us to pay for a phone we never got AND pay for one we have no actual guarantee will get delivered to the right place. Ridiculous.
