We purchased the MFF2258FEZ refrigerator with freezer on the bottom in 2022 - At the time options for refrigerators were limited in supply, and we were happy to find one, albeit over $2700 at the time. It seemed oddly noisy, and in late 2024 we had a tech out due to buzzing and sharp snap noise that was occurring - Bad relay switch (over $400 for diagnosis and repair). Now the compressor is dead. Customer service shared there's a 10 year warranty on the compressor, but only covers that part - No accessory parts that will be needed or the labor (5 to 6 hours est.). Likely over $500 to repair. I received a 20% loyalty coupon to use on a replacement fridge. Likely a reason this model isn't available anymore..

Bought my Maytag side by side refrigerator MSS25C4MGZ06 in April 2022 - had to replace the compressor in 2024 (it’s was covered under a service bulletin). About a month ago the coils started freezing up ( this happened twice). I had to self defrost- called the service tech who advised that it was most likely a circuit board and it would be better to replace the unit- less than 3 1/2 years old and I have to buy a new unit- Maytag new slogan should be “The Un dependable people." I called the company and they basically said tough luck-I’ve been buying Whirlpool/Maytag appliances for 47 years but no more.

I purchased top freezer Maytag refrigerator 4 months ago - after 5 service calls still not fixed - uneven cooling in freezer & refrigerator - can only use front half of fridge as back & crispers freeze items - have had bottles explode - freezer either thaws items or freezes to food getting freezer burned - compressor replaced & other parts. Maytag will not declare it unrepairable & refund me - very frustrating!

Maytag customer service is a joke. We purchased a refrigerator less than a year ago. Five service calls later and it's now completely not working and the service technician confirmed it's not repairable. You would think a company that cares about their customers would immediately authorize a replacement, but not Maytag. Maytag requires at least two business days for some internal board to review the documentation before deciding if they will provide a replacement for the lemon they sold. We are without a refrigerator, with spoiled groceries, and no timeline on a replacement. Shame on Maytag for terrible appliances and horrible customer care.

I purchased my Maytag refrigerator a little over two years ago. I bought a refrigerator and four other Maytag appliances for about $6,000, Now my refrigerator makes ice but won't dispense it. I have had a repairman out twice once where he contacted a Maytag Tech to help solve the problem. They said my refrigerator is unrepairable because of their poor design. The little cheap plastic tabs broke off of the ice maker cabinet that holds the ice maker dispenser in. Since they poorly designed the ice maker cabinet as part of the entire refrigerator lining they said it is unrepairable. They offered me a whooping 25% off to go buy a new one. After spending $2500 on this refrigerator a little over two years ago the last thing I would do is spend another $2000 for a second Maytag refrigerator.

Purchase 3 stainless steel Maytag refrigerators At 1,200 the same time, all 3 are experiencing the same problem 14 months later, gasket around seal of door is not adhering to the door and flopping not seal door letting cold air out. Call customer service 10 year warranty And does not cover Common Defects in their appliance. Buyers beware.

We spent $2159 on our Maytag refrigerator. We thought it would last and meet our needs. We were disappointed from the beginning. The drawer broke, the seal ripped off the door, the shelves cracked. Maytag wanted to charge us an arm and a leg to replace any of these items even though the refrigerator has a plaque on the side of it that says it has a 10 year parts warranty. Now the refrigerator is three years old and the freezer and ice dispenser stopped working. We are so disappointed in this cheap product that was so expensive!! We are also disappointed that the company was less than helpful or willing to stand behind their product!! Don’t buy Maytag!!!

Update - A Whirlpool representative emailed a response to my 11/11/24 review. I was informed that Whirlpool will stand behind the repair. A service tech has already been to my home and diagnosed the issue. A replacement freezer door will be ordered. My thanks to Whirlpool for standing behind their product!

Do not buy a Maytag refrigerator! I spent over $1200 for a brand new fridge and it died ONE WEEK after the warranty expired. The block froze up and it wasn't even repairable. I put a bad review on BBB and Maytag called me to bribe me with $300 to take the review down. I did it only out of fear that I wouldn't get some refund back because they wouldn't replace it. So now later, I realize I've done everyone a disservice to let them get away with such a bad product. I had a Maytag dishwasher repairman tell me once that the only products to buy from Maytag are laundry appliances. For this one Lady, I won't be buying anything from them again. Live and learn!

Paid 2600 for the fridge 2 years ago. So far I've paid service tech for a ice maker, a board, and Water valve. As it stands we can't make ice and the water now doesn't work. As far as the refrigerator and freezer they work great. Thought I was buying a quality product picking Maytag for our kitchen remodeling project. I'm going kitchenAid next time.

Worst customer experience ever, I will never buy Maytag appliances again. The compressor went on my 4 month old fridge, tried calling multiple times for service and kept getting told they will call me tomorrow. Despite living in a city of over 150 000 people they want to send a technician from 1.5 hours away and won't let anyone local come. Been waiting over 2 weeks for a call from the Whirlpool technician, I have left multiple voicemails with the company and called daily for over 2 weeks both the appliance repair company and Whirlpool warranty and haven't gotten anywhere. The customer service rep even asked me why I didn't just pay someone local to fix my fridge.

I bought this at an appliance warehouse in 2023. It was manufactured in 2001. I love the vegetable crisper draw, love that cheese and lunch meat drawer, I love the slide-out shelves and I like the height adjustable shelves. It's old but runs great! Freezer has deep baskets which are fantastic and the door shelving tilt. Both freezer and fridge are easy to clean. Only negative is ice maker is giving me a headache!

**Review for Maytag Refrigerator (Purchased April 12th)** I purchased a Maytag refrigerator on April 12th, and from the moment it was delivered, it has been a source of constant frustration and disappointment. Immediately after installation, the refrigerator began making a loud grinding noise. Hoping it was just a temporary issue, I contacted Maytag Services. Their response was dismissive, stating that the noise was normal for a new refrigerator as it acclimated to my home environment.

DON'T BUY! Our brand new fridge stopped working 1 month in - dead compressor - having been waiting a month for a fix - still waiting! Maytag doesn't give a blank - if they did they would ensure that their customers, that have spent over $1500 for a fridge, would get a working fridge - breaking down 1 month in is unacceptable. We purchased Maytag because of the name - I guess their service and quality products are old news now. Will never buy a Maytag again!

I would give 0 stars. My refrigerator is broken after 2 months. A faulty compressor. I bounced Maytag because of its reputation. Unfortunately they are not what they use to be. I should have bought a bigger, nicer fridge from Samsung. Terrible customer service. They do not value their customers or their products. Avoid this company.

Do not buy a Maytag refrigerator. It is the poorest quality appliance I have ever purchased. The metal edges are raw and sharp. The noise level the refrigerator makes is unbearable. My original refrigerator was 30 years old and even in its lasts days, it did not make the noises that are coming from this week old Maytag.

Maytag refrigerator MFT2776FEZ00 is junk. We purchased this directly from Whirlpool in Oct. 2017 and we have had nothing but issues with it. To start the ice machine stopped functioning correctly after 18 months. Not sure why other than it would not freeze the water and it ran out of the ice container down the door. Second every 6 months we have to defrosted it due to ice build up in coils which take 24 hours! The seal on the door has had to be replaced and know the freezer is not freezing. I thought spending $2,800 I was going to get good quality product. Nope it is junk. Buyer beware. Don’t purchase Maytag refrigerators.

Updated on 10/28/2023: I posted our total dissatisfaction with the 5 year old Maytag side by side, top of the line 26ft fridge. To follow up, their customer service (supposedly in MI) does not appear to exist, either by phone or on-line contact. Whirlpool, a once respected and reliable MI company, is now Maytag, Amana, Kitchenaide, and Jenn Air. We have all of these!! Now I have to search for an appliance that is none of the above. Our expensive unit is out the door, and will likely end up at a MI metal recycling place!

I’ve had repairs or replacement of my fridge door, a screw that dropped in to a condensate line and blocked a drain as well as an evaporator fan failure in 5years. My same Maytag dishwasher failed with a drainage pump failure and a door seal. Totally disappointed.

08/13/2020-Purchased Side-by-Side model MSS25N4MKZ. 05/2023 Stopped cooling, under warranty. 05/30/2023-Maytag svc tech changed compressor & various parts & added Freon. Svc tech later told us Maytag refused to pay him after they had issued a repair order. 07/03/2023-Stopped cooling again, irreparable.

We were happy with this product until a few months ago when the refrigerator began to freeze the food. We received advice from an online source, and we purchased a replacement temperature regulator. Problem continued. We were told online that we need to replace the thermistor. No change. We contacted a local repair technician who diagnosed the problem as a Freon leak, one of the indicators being frost forming on the back wall of the freezer compartment. After spending over $200 for advice and parts, we need to buy a new refrigerator. The only one that fits our needs and the kitchen space is the same model Maytag. We’re hoping the new one runs problem free for much longer than 5 years…after all, lightning doesn’t strike in the same spot twice, they say.

I recently purchased a Maytag refrigerator Model MRT311FFFH01 and had read in the reviews that there was an issue with the deli drawer coming off the tracks and foolishly assumed they had fixed that issue. Within one week of receiving the unit the deli drawer came off the track and because of the unit being next to a wall the door does not swing out far enough to make it easy to put it back on, and it is a struggle. It had come off frequently and they sent a repair person who put it on and said it was "fixed" - but not so. Now the freezer is not cooling and waiting for the that to be repaired. The deli drawer is a design issue and when my warranty is up in October I will have no recourse to get that repaired - if it can ever be permanently fixed.

I purchased 2019 a Maytag Stainless Steel MFI2570FEZ 36" French Door Refrigerator with 24.7 cu. ft. after my LG for 10+ years died. I thought Maytag, maybe that means something. Their warrant was pretty on the sales floor. Today, 4 years later it stopped completely and abruptly by popping the GFI circuit breaker. I rushed all my food into a 1990s fridge in my garage (a trustworthy one). I had it serviced with genuine Whirlpool parts fixing the relay and capacitor as the fridge turned on $120 parts and labor. The fridge appeared to work for 3 days, then it randomly stop and started not even turning on at all again popping the GFI.

Paid $2760 for Maytag MF12570FEW refrigerator. It lasted 16 months and died. The 10 year limited warranty does not cover very much and seems to be advertising hype. Paid over $300 out of pocket for parts and technical advice. The fridge lasted 2 more days and once again I lost my frozen food. I am now told that it is the compressor and sealed system. Terribly disappointed with what I thought was a quality brand.

I paid almost a thousand bucks for this refrigerator and have been having issues from day One... The problems started during the 1st month, the light went out in the freezer and our liquids in the refrigerator started busting and spilling all over the place, then in the same week a shelf proved to be flimsy and cracked under normal wear. I called the company David's appliance in Edmond Oklahoma and they passed the buck to a local repair shop who were designated to take care of Maytag appliances.

We bought this refrigerator as it was almost identical as a Kenmore refrigerator that has lasted 15 years. What a disappointment. 1. The frame for the bottom shelf broke around 1 year - it was covered by warranty, but due to the design it is bound to break again. It is the shelf that supports the vegetable and fruit drawers and on which one usually puts drinks and heavy things and it supported by a thin plastic frame and a metal bracket at the front. No support in the middle at the back not even from the refrigerator frame (which would have been so easy to provide). I macgyvered a bracket to support the frame at the back as I know it will break again.

We bought our brand new Maytag refrigerator in October of last year, so it's still under warranty. It stopped working September 14th. The warranty department couldn't get anyone out to fix it until two weeks after I called. When the service tech came out, he couldn't assess what the problem was because we had unplugged it. He scheduled another appointment 2 more weeks later. In the meantime, we lost all the food in our refrigerator/freezer & ended up buying a used refrigerator to keep in our garage.

The brackets that make the door open and close are just screwed Into the plastic lining with no kind of anchors. If you use the freezer a lot the screws come loose. Can’t close the door. And then 300 dollars later a service call. All to replace a screw. That’s just fine but the hole is stripped because no one could install a 50 cent anchor on installation at the factory. No more Maytag for me.

Very poor quality product. Had to replace damper motor shortly after having the appliance for 3 years with below average use. Motor is made of flimsy plastic piece that breaks. Then you have to pay $275 for the cost of call and part.

I purchased an appliance package of washer dryer, refrigerator and dishwasher. All of the appliances needed many repairs. It took four icemakers in the fridge before it actually was fixed. The worst appliance was the dishwasher it was repaired every three months for six years! Washer and dryer died after five years.
