I had an easy and non-stressful experience with LGI Homes. We chose them over other home builders because of its location. We purchased a brand new home four days ago. So far, we find our community beautiful, and since it's me and my wife's first home, it has affected our life very positively.

I had been looking for preexisting houses and I didn’t want that they have contracts on them and that the home only goes to the person who makes the highest bid so I decided not to look for a while. My daughter was the one who told me about LGI Homes and I signed the papers last Friday for a prebuilt home. It is in a nice community. It's a basic house, which is fine, but the good thing about it is that it has many other features that I like. I’m very happy and it's been a wonderful experience with LGI Homes.

We had been looking for a house for the last year and on September 8, we moved in the Blanco which was already pre-built by LGI Homes. My brother lives right around the corner from me too. The community is nice, clean and quiet. I would look around and reflect on the fact that we're in the house now and not in an apartment. We don't have people playing loud music outside the bedroom window and all of that crap.
The process was frustrating for my husband though. Every time we turned around there was new paperwork or the same paperwork that they said we needed. Velma had also called him several occasions on the same day and he told her to wait until the evening to call or to send an email or text. He was pretty much ready to tell her he didn't want the house anymore but I told him to calm down. It was cool to me but then I have more patience.
On the other hand, the salesperson was totally awesome. He worked everything down, was straightforward and told us what we needed. Now, I can't wait to get off of work. The drive is serious but I'd rather switch jobs than switch homes because I love the house. It has a lot of nice amenities. We had started buying all the extra that we actually needed to put in the house to make it more comfortable long before we even got approved.

The buying experience was excellent. All from contract to close was awesome. After that, not so much. It is very difficult to get service on our home. It has been almost 4 months, and most of the repairs from the walk through were never completed. I finally did them myself. I don't trust that LGI will stand by their product. After all is said and done, I think I would shop around carefully before buying here.
Hi Christopher,
Congratulations on your new home! We are sorry to hear you've been having trouble with your repairs. As you should have been told during your homeowner orientation, we use an online portal for all of our warranty claims so we can keep everything tracked and stay accountable. Please submit all claims at https://lgihomes.corrigo.com/customer2/login.asp and let us know if you run into any issues.
Thank you!

LGI Homes had the “zero down” program and I checked into that. I didn’t qualify for that but I went on with it. I just closed on the house last week. However, I’m not totally happy with their performance. The salesmen, Andrew and Ted, were very nice people. It’s the construction stuff that I don’t like. Upon completion, my house still has problems. My yard is lumpy and had the worst top job I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s awful and it really bugs me. There’re big holes in it, my meter is like, in a sunken down hole. My back porch is rough, that concrete finish is terrible. I also had complaints that my trusses weren’t quite right, there were three of them I pointed out as soon as I walked through that they’re over 2 inches out of plumb. And they didn’t get those fixed because they would have had to tear the plywood off to fix them.
Then when the painters painted my garage, they did not prep; they did not scrape the overspray from the knockdown in the ceiling off the block, they painted right over it. And there were lumps where the drywall mud hit the block. I pointed this out before they painted it. I went to a couple of houses that were constructed before mine and I’ve seen that they did that there so I made it very clear that I don’t want it in my house, I wanted that off my block before it was painted. And when I went back it was painted over, it was like it wasn’t even heard, and it’s still like that today. Also, at this point I’m waiting for my irrigation system to get fixed. There’s a broke head in there, and it’s not been running a week now.
The plumbing guy has got to come in and put the shower head on, something as simple as a showerhead in the bathroom should have been in there. And when I first got my back door, it wouldn’t lock, and I haven’t even moved in the house yet to see anything else. I went in there yesterday and talked to Andrew and he wrote down everything I listed on that I’ve seen at this point, but now, I’m going to be inconvenienced to have them come in to fix it. I’ve got to be there and miss time from work, or my wife would, for them to schedule a drywall guy to come in and fix it. I had some major problems with the drywall so it’s been knocked down in the master bedroom. This all should have been done before I ever got my PO. I wasn’t going to give my down payment until it was done, but they said that’s how it works and it would all be done before closing. Ted, the guy that sold me the house, called me back and tried to do what he can.
They said they were going to take care of it, and as soon as they do that, it’s all good. They also showed me where to go online to make everything right. The house looks decent but certain things should have never been done. Other than that, I’m not complaining about some of the things. The guy that finished the drywall inside, I’ve seen it and he did a good job. The Stucco job also looked beautiful and the front porch and the driveway look good too. There’re several things about my house I do not like, but I’m giving LGI Homes the benefit of the doubt that they’re going to make everything right.

I had a good experience with LGI Homes and I’d recommend them. Because of the location that we’re building, we decided to go with them. We purchased a pre-built home in September. Their sales reps were informative, helpful, and professional. The quality of the home is also nine out of ten. However, the warranty claims were not handled quickly. We’re still waiting for some of the warranty claims to be prepared which were noted before or during the purchase walkthrough and have still not been completed.

Our experience with LGI Homes was awesome. They offered more in regards to help and in-house financing as well. You had to do that on your own when dealing with others with but with them they walked us through it. It helped us a great deal since we were first time buyers. The sales representative was also awesome. He gave us his direct number and helped us no matter what time of day it was. The pre-built new home that we purchased is built pretty well and is located in a really nice community. We are very satisfied with the amenities, too.

We have been working with LGI Homes for the past three years. They basically gave us all the information within those years to help us get a home. Their sales representative kept in touch and gave us the correct information instead of the runaround. We worked with them pretty much and so we just finally gave it a try one more time this year.
We purchased a house that was already built. Since we came from a different type of a house structure, the quality of this house is excellent. We're still learning the whole housing process though. The community is very quiet and we don't have any worries. There's also a park. LGI Homes is great and we're really appreciative of them for helping us out since we started calling them three years ago.

When Casey contacted me, he understood that we had to find a home quickly. He said that he would be able to get us within a home in 30 days. Based on other ways to purchase homes, it could have taken longer and the zero down helped a lot too. We finally closed with LGI Homes on the 29th but we signed to purchase the pre-built new home on the 23rd. It took a month and the quality of the house is amazing. We loved it. The grass isn’t there which I’ll buy but everything else went fine. The community is great and I already met a couple of our neighbors and they’re awesome. It's a longer commute to work, but I knew what I was getting into when we purchased the home and I'm getting used to it.

LGI was the most friendly, more able to work with me and not pass me onto the next person. Everything's going right and everybody at LGI is helpful. I bought a new home a week ago and the process didn't take long. The LGI community is quiet and everybody's friendly. It's nice, especially coming from a house that was secluded. LGI went over and beyond to help me out and I'd tell other folks about them.

We were renting an apartment at the time and I got an LGI Homes flyer in the mail that caught my eye. I had other flyers come through as well, but LGI's product looked like it was a sure thing and what they did was something that I was interested in. I also liked the area and the process in becoming a homeowner. I gave LGI a call and they had me come in. We got approved on the spot and we were 100% financed. We closed a couple of weeks ago. The process was so smooth and everybody was so kind, concerned, and really wanted us to be a homeowner instead of renting an apartment.
The quality of the build was good, except for a problem we had with one of the windows, which had something like peeling foam. I talked to the builder the other day and he said that happens when moisture gets in the window, but he also said that he’s going to replace the window. My wife and I love the community. It’s nice, quiet and peaceful. I'm excited about the future and getting everything the way I want, like getting a deck built and a nice grill going. I would recommend LGI Homes and I've definitely been advertising for them. So many people have already called about how our home purchase from LGI Homes happened for us and they're looking for the same thing.

LGI Homes made it very easy for us when we purchased our home. During the walk-through, the rep explained a lot and I didn’t realize how sturdy the home was built. The community is very nice. We purchased a pre-built home from LGI Homes a month ago and it’s been good so far. We like the location so now we have a little bit more peace of mind from the neighborhood we moved out of. The sales rep was very good and knowledgeable and had everything set up. The first house we looked at is the one we chose. The buying part was good. The experience, the paperwork part, was quick, fast and easy. They held up their part. We had no problems with the quality of the home, only minor things.

We dealt with three representatives, and we started out with John. He went out for a third referral, and then we dealt with the property manager, Greg. After that, Kim took me out to look at lots and pick out our lot and that’s who I had been in contact with prior to closing. All of them were polite, friendly and knowledgeable. The process was pretty good but there was something that I felt should have been handled a little differently.
Initially, when we got qualified, we were supposed to be on a USDA loan, but then once they did our combined income, they told us that we might need money together. I felt like that should've been a conversation, just as a heads up that it’s an increment and that if that didn’t work out, there would be options 1, 2 and 3. But it didn’t play out like that. It was like, “You all made so much money. We can’t go with this loan. Let me call you back and tell you what other loans you qualify for.” It was like a back and forth.
If we’d end up giving up our lot to downsize, it wasn’t because we weren’t able to get the down payment to get our original lot. If the information had been upfront from the beginning we could’ve been prepared for that situation. I would have liked for them to say, “Okay. It’s a possibility due to these restrictions that you may not qualify for this loan. If not, then this would be Plan B, and if we go with Plan B, then you will have to pay a deposit or down payment. This is what your down payment potentially could be.” In that way we would have been able to prepare for that prior to instead of a phone call a week later saying, “We got bad news. You all don’t qualify for this loan.” Communication could have been improved in that process, but it ended up working out and we got the lot that we initially picked out to get the house.
We got an LGI-built home in the Four Winds. It’s the five, two and a half, two-door garage and it’s the biggest of the floorplans that they offer. I like the amenities but it's just a little community park that's out there. It would be awesome if we could have a community pool so that we don’t have to travel all the way to Jacksonville and Macclenny County to visit one. Our new home has affected our commute but I kind of expected that because I knew where we were moving from and where our schools and jobs were. Leaving early and beating the traffic is not bad, and overall, I like it. If I felt like it would’ve been too much, then we wouldn’t have made that commitment to be so far. It was a very fast, semi-complicated process with LGI Homes but compared to some first-time home buying stories that I heard from other people or read online, our process was pretty excellent. I definitely wouldn’t complain because it could’ve been a lot worse.

We tried to go through LGI Homes before in buying a house, but we decided to wait until we were close to our wedding. It was nice choosing from the houses that were out for sale. We liked to look at a house that was really nice and we liked how big it was and the number of bedrooms it had. We ended up picking a pre-built house which happened to be the last one in the neighborhood that they hadn't sold yet. We fell in love with this house the moment we saw it and we snatched it up when we could.
Everything went smoothly and we haven't had any issues, from LGI Homes showing us the house, to their giving us the contract, and to our signing the contract and moving in. They gave us all the information that was needed to roll over on the property. The inspector has been more than helpful and he fixed everything that needed to be fixed. If there was a problem, he came in to explain and he settled it himself. My wife's parents also live in the same neighborhood and we're okay with the community. Right now, we're happy with our house.

The first site we checked out was at Tampa and we asked LGI if there are other locations in 1960. They told us about Sugar Pine Square, so we came in and asked for all the pre-built model units they had. All the agents that toured us around Sugar Pine Square were great, especially Chris. We also tried to ask with another builder, Cathy Home, and we didn't feel that they wanted to entertain us compared to how we felt with LGI Homes. The LGI agents are so good at getting a good job and we decided to take a risk and apply and we got approved.
We were surprised that we did the processing in a month. It was fast, and the experience was great. The house is very fine for us first-time homeowners in the US, and we're fine with everything in it. The neighborhood itself is good and it's quiet. It's a gated community and it's definitely good. It's a small lot and there's only 80 units, so they didn't put any amenities. We're getting used to the area and we're all fine since it is near shopping centers, movie theaters, and the I-45.

I liked the LGI Homes house model that I saw online so I gave them a call. Anabelle, the agent who assisted us, was really good at first. Then while I was waiting for lenders to go through the approval process, I thought I was the one who had to call and text. They left me in limbo. After I signed the initial agreement and bought the house, I thought the financing part would go quickly. However, it went past the estimated move-in date of Sept. 15 and we didn't end up moving until the 29th. I was agitated and every week I would ask them how it was going. Aside from that, everything was okay.
They built a new home for me and I wanted some customization. I asked them if they could put in hardwood floors instead of carpet and how much it would cost. But they said they couldn't do anything like that. We also didn't get an option to upgrade to a two-door fridge or a large fridge that has the freezer on the bottom. It would have been better than the standard one we got. I wouldn't mind paying a bit extra for those tiny upgrades or I would have at least liked the option for them not to put the carpet in so when we put the hardwood floor in, we don't have to get the carpet out.
Other than that, I have recommended LGI Homes to one of my friends and he moved in already. I even referred Anabelle to one of my family members and she got their account fixed. Then we met one of our neighbors when we were closing who was also closing in the same room. She was friendly and great. She also pre-invited us over. Plus, the neighborhood has a park. We have kids so I might go there.

Don't waste your time. No money down. Lies. Low monthly payment. Lies. Dealt with them for months. Told me I was approved and even let me put a sign on the ground and took pictures. Lies. Monthly payments 1000$. After no money down and all other nonsense per month your house payment is closer to 2000$. They ask for 1000$ down. They make you sit there for a appt for hours to learn about their company. Then build a house exactly like your front neighbor. Best thing possible was not getting approved after all and getting our deposit back after they made me run through hoops to get credit scores up and things paid off and faxes and copies of everything possible. It's like a car loan. They will get you in. But you will pay. High payment and interest. Good luck. You have been warned. LGI. Don't contact me. Thank you.
Hi Richard,
We are sorry to hear you feel like you had a negative experience with LGI. There are ways to qualify for no money down with our preferred lenders, as so many others have attested to. Unfortunately, there could be a number of reasons that you were not able to qualify.
We wish you the best of luck on your new home search!

We closed last Friday on a prebuilt home we purchased from LGI Homes. And it’s brought me peace. I was already familiar with the neighborhood because my sister lives in there, and I got a home there, too, so I’m living close to family. It’s only been a week and things have been good so far. I still have some stuff they need to repair, but they would come whenever they can.

I got a flyer in the mail and I wanted to get my own home. There were also people who were saying a lot of good things about their experience with LGI so I went to go talk to them. Their rep was good. He was very transparent, gave all the information, and made sure I was aware of what I had to do and the deadlines. They showed me the floor plan, and then they said, “Okay. These are all the floor plans you can choose from.” I picked out different things that already came standard and the quality of the build is excellent. I'm also satisfied with the amenities offered to me. I’ve met a couple of the neighbors and they're nice. I’m close to my family I have six grandchildren and I see them way more. My daughter said they don’t want to go home. They just want to come to Nana’s house. I had a house before, and when I moved into an apartment I put all this stuff in storage, so now everything is back out of storage.
I have been recommending LGI. This is my second new build that I’ve purchased in my life and there was a great big difference between what I went through in my first walkthrough and what I went through on this walkthrough. The LGI rep went from the sidewalk all the way through the house and around the house, so we took a walk around the entire house. He explained things that I never would have asked nor would I have known what these things were. The knowledge of that information helps me be a better home owner. After we got in the house, he explained more things. And then now, after being in the house, there are things that I need to call and do a warranty thing for. He also walked me through that. He said, “I know you need to call me. I know you want to call me. But just go ahead and put it on the warranty list for us to come to get a ticket for someone to come out and look at what your needs are.” And they are very prompt.
Ed, the builder guy there, is exceptional. When I put a request in, he’d call and he’d assess. He'd say, “Yeah. That’s a problem, but it’s a home owner’s problem,” or he will say, “No. I’ll get somebody out there to look at it and we’ll see what’s going on.” And immediately the people call me and say, “Hey, we are opening for this day. Are you available or not?” And then he’ll call me back and say, “Hey, they’re scheduled to come this day.”
The customer service is awesome. Even the minor, small things, they come out to take care of it. I had one space in my upstairs, it’s a crooked wall. I wouldn’t even notice it had I not been in the bathroom talking to my daughter. So Ed came out, and he looked at it. He said, “Yeah. That’s crooked. I’m going to get the people out here. I got to see who’s responsible.” He’s committed to go and get whoever needs to come out and it’ll get taken care of. And I’m not feeling that I bought a house with a crooked wall and nobody cares because I’ve already closed. So it makes that a whole lot better.

I was a first-time homebuyer. Before, I honestly didn’t think that I can afford a home. But I have seen flyers from LGI Homes and I even used to get a lot of them back in Chicago. They were actually good at getting me into a home. My wife and I were tired of renting. We have been renting ever since we were young and neither one of us had ever owned a home. With the rent going up, me and wife had to move every two years. Then we saw LGI and we decided to go and take a look. The person who we were with made us feel comfortable as far as attempting to buy a house. And every step along the way, LGI was really good. I would give them that because I could have just turned around and thanked them for letting me see the house. The way LGI had it set-up, everything was done in their office. The lender, the underwriter, and everything to process the mortgage was there. I feel that's the way it should be. That was my first experience and I talked to a lot of people at work who have bought homes and how you have to go and track down this person and then you got to go to this office downtown for your underwriter and so on. Just the sound of it makes you feel like you’ll just keep renting.
As the purchaser, I don't have to go searching addresses, and I’m not wasting gas. They saved a lot of time just by having me coming to their office while they take care of the rest. That alone was good on both sides. Everything's faster. So I purchased a Colorado and it’s a pre-built second-story house. I put some ceiling fans in and moved a couple of the globe lights on the second floor, which was a little too low. The washer and dryer went upstairs which was a good place for it because it's right by the bedrooms. We're going to be putting a ceiling fan right in the foyer where the drop-down lighting came down. I have nothing against the builder but the light that was in the foyer that was hanging off the chain once you come in the front door looked flimsy. It just looked cheap so we will replace it.
The fridge was smaller than what was in my apartment. We had a 34-inch in our apartment, and I measured this one from side to side and it was 30 inches. It’s in my garage now since we bought a side-by-side. Also, I grew up in the Midwest and everything was cooked on a gas stove. Once you've tasted gas stove cooking, others are not the same. So, my wife now cooks outside and prepares the food for the week on the grill than cooking on our electric stove. She doesn’t like it. And I've also got the Whirlpool microwave, which produces a clicking sound when you open the door. LGI only gave a one-year warranty so I had to extend it because I don’t know what happened. So, I'm going to have technicians come and take a look at it. There's something loose inside the door and something fell but I can't see where the screw came from.
And then we had someone come over and figure out why I kept on popping the breaker and shortening it out. It turned out the builders stapled the wires to the two by fours when they were building the house. They did it a little too tight. So, the electrician finally got it loose and everything is okay now. I would also suggest that the builders should construct some kind of a patio that is bigger than two feet by two feet square for the backyard. Right now, I concreted it since I don't do lawns. For the flooring, the tiles are good on my feet. I like the rug too every now and then, but my wife doesn’t. She can't wait until I save up enough money to be able to tile the whole floor. I could live with it. It would make it cooler especially here in Texas. The window did not seem to be double paned. The windows were actually good but the door was horrible. So, I'm going to have to go and get some kind of a UV protection on the windows. Right now, the electric company gives me a weekly usage. So far, it's been low to where it was around from my apartment and that's pretty good. I am also noticing slowly the difference because I am home.
Overall, the guys at LGI Homes are great and they were helpful. Although buying a house from a first timer's standpoint is still a task, with so much paperwork you have to sign. But they made it a lot easier and pleasant to get into a house. I thought we were just going to keep on renting until we happily pass away. I would have never thought I would be sitting in a home that I own right now.

I went with LGI for the price and what they were offering compared to other homes. Also, their sales rep was great. Everybody in the office worked to get our deal done. They didn’t give me false hopes. They said it was going to happen and it happened, so I’m very happy with them. The process took about a month because there were a couple of hiccups on the side of the loan company. It wasn’t on the LGI side of the house.
There were issues, though. There was a screen from the home that was torn. When we did the walkthrough, we identified that the garage door has a handle which is missing a screw, so we really can’t use the handle to the garage door. We got to grab the actual garage door itself. The guy that was on the walkthrough said that he has a screw and that he’ll put it in himself. He never did. There's a couple of other minor stuff and it may be minor for some other people but the fact that I bought a brand-new home, I’m expecting it to, within reason, have no defects. I’m still waiting on those to be fixed. Also, if I had prior options, I could have had granite countertops for the bathrooms. I’m satisfied with the amenities, though.

LGI had a lot of good incentives and the sales reps were really attentive. Purchasing the home was a quick and easy process. It took about three weeks to get everything done although there were minor things that could’ve been done better. In the living room, I can see where the paint coats were not all even. I also found a lot of little itty-bitty cracks here and there that needs some stucco in it and by the bathtub. Other than that, the other things are well and overall it was decent. My new home has made everything more convenient for me and we're closer to school and family.

I called LGI Homes to schedule an appointment to look at a home and before the rep showed it to me, he went over the pricing. They had the best offers price-wise and yard-wise, they had everything we were looking for. It took me a while to decide but I decided we wanted it. After that, we went back to the office and gave them the money orders needed for the down payment. Two days later, we went and talked to the loan officer and they told us to have all the information about what we chose. They kept in contact with us so that when we need it, we could give them everything by the time we finished it. Three and a half weeks later, I was ready to call it my home. We closed on a pre-built home and it was great. It was an easy process as well and LGI had great customer service. Their sales rep was great as well and he answered all the questions I needed to ask.
I like everything about the home - the space in all the rooms including the kitchen, the dining room and the hallway. The community was also gorgeous. It’s very quiet. Also, the rep took us to the amenities after he showed us the home and we liked it. The only problem I have with it was not allowing me to bring my whole family to the pool. The rep explained that it gets overcrowded and I understand that, but I have a lot of niece and nephews. Now, I have to tell a few of them that they couldn’t come because I could only bring a limited number and that’s the rule. But I'm happy as I was staying with my mom and staying in one room with my partner. We now have our own place and it's amazing.

I had worked with LGI Homes in Tennessee. Just about a month ago, I made another purchase with them. Everything was positive with their sales guy and finance people. I was stunned by their service. They were personal and they worked 100%. The transaction wasn’t like a sale and it wasn’t focused on money. They made sure that I got the right property and deal.
The house I bought was a pre-built one, but it was unoccupied. It was one of those homes that other people were going to get, but it fell through the cracks on a series of purchases. I am happy with this purchase. The quality of the build looks pretty good. It’s builder grade but I will do the customizations later. Also, the community we live in is growing. LGI Homes is outstanding. I recommend them to anybody.

Our LGI home was under construction when we started the purchase process and we closed on the 3rd of August. The process was okay but my problem was with the construction. When construction was going on, I told the people at LGI Homes that I didn’t much approve of the way the home was being built. There were cracks in the floor, the baseboards were not meeting the floor properly, and there's no attic space. That’s not a big problem but it’s poor workmanship. I was told they were fixed, but they were fixed using caulk, which to me is not acceptable when I’ve got to append the gap from the floor meeting the wall that’s still uncaulked. Also, while I was hoping for a larger pool or two to three smaller pools, the amenities in the new home community only includes a small pool.

At the end of August, I was able to make a purchase with LGI. They had a good deal. Their rep Derrick was very knowledgeable and he kept us in the loop of everything that was going on with the transaction of getting the house vantage being built and getting the loan. I got a spec home and it’s been fine. It survived the rain. Plus, it’s also a nice community.

We looked at some homes that were used and LGI seemed like the best way for us, as new homebuyers, to buy a new home. LGI was a zero-down and no closing cost. We started with a different sales rep, but he was out on vacation and Art took over and he was with us the entire step of the way. He was great and I've referred two people to him since. We told LGI which prebuilt model we liked, and they showed us the ones that were available. We chose the one we wanted and went from there. The process took three weeks, which was really fast. The house was built very well and we're happy with the amenities. It's a farther commute for me to work, but it's a new home.
We had a little leak in the back door because of the hurricane and LGI is getting that fixed, so they're on top of everything. The neighborhood is very nice, unfortunately, we had a little bit of crime during the hurricane, which bothered me. I joined the Facebook Bauer Landing Group and after this happened, the neighborhood got together and started a neighborhood watch, which I really like. Also, Marlene, my loan officer, was awesome. She was patient and very easy to get a hold of during my questions. Even though I was a pain in the butt at some time, she was there. It was a really good experience.

We needed a home and we got an appointment with LGI Homes. We came, saw the homes and we liked what we saw. The sales representative at LGI Homes was awesome. He answered any questions that we had and kept us up to date on the process. He said he needed to meet us and he did and it was a very nice experience. We’re in Phase 2 and our home was the last home that was being built in it. They all built the same landscape but with different layouts. Our house wasn’t completely built when we purchased it so we saw the process of it being built. Everything was done because things were already picked out.
The quality of the home was good with my furnishings but it was hard for AT&T because there weren’t enough wiring for the home. LGI’s new home community is good though, because there are not too many people yet. It was an awesome experience to see your forever home getting built. We had great people that would answer any of our questions at any time and was willing to work with us. It was a very good experience being a first-time home buyer and it wasn’t as stressful as I thought. I’m really happy with our home.

We went over to LGI Homes and checked it out. We liked the house we saw and purchased a prebuilt home on August 14th. Maury, our sales rep, was always so nice and respectful and we were kept well-informed of what was going on. I always got an email saying at what process we were at and we were treated very nicely the whole way through the whole process, which was 30 days. We got everything we wanted in the house that was built and we use the playground in the brand new community.

I like LGI Homes’ structure and the materials they use are above the other construction builders. I made my purchase three weeks ago. Their sales rep was very respectful, informative and knowledgeable. We call him whenever we have questions and he reaches out to us on the same day, sometimes even after five minutes. It only took us about four weeks to get everything set up from the loan company and then with LGI Homes. Also, the walk-in process was very quick because the reps had to do the processing on the same day of the closing.
It's a brand new house and it's very well-built. I like that it has an open area. It’s really open and very spacious. The master bedroom was awesome. It feels like it’s another house. Our granite countertops are strong and well-placed. The materials are top of the line and not like the other materials of some houses where the whole house shakes when you go to the second floor. Also, the house is very furnished. The carpeting is a different color than the regular commercial color that the other houses are putting in and it has very nice colored tiles too. I'm very happy with the standard appliances that came with the home as well.
However, I have problems with the final touch-ups and I'm still waiting for two other staff that I have to talk to. They also told me that there are some extra things going on to the windows and the walls to sliding doors to the patio, which I'm still waiting for. Other than that, the neighborhood is amazing. It feels like I'm in a different town and everything is quiet and very clean when walking to the community. I love my house and I'm very happy with the community. We have recommended it to other people and they are in the process of getting the house.

We were looking around everywhere to find a home location and found this one by LGI. They were very good with us for the first meet. We were shocked to find out they checked our credit and said that we were pretty much already approved by the looks of it. So, it was an easy process. We met with the lender who said that everything looks well and that they just needed some paperwork. Then we gave them our paperwork and they handled it as quickly as possible. LGI kept reassuring us through the wait process that they were excited to give us our keys and they were reliable. We ended up meeting again on the closing date and got our keys.
The house was pre-built and really well-done. The Prescott plan was also very nice and I loved it. We asked them to fix a few minor things and they did it the next day. There's a park, a nice walk area, and a lake that's really pretty in our community and the people are very welcoming. During our first night, a couple of neighbors came to greet me. It’s peaceful here and I feel more at ease. I can spend more time with the family, too and I love it. I suggested to a few other people that they should try LGI because it went as smoothly as possible for us and we had a wonderful experience.

LGI Homes built houses to spec even though the wait time was very short so one can buy as they build. We went with LGI for the cost and process of building. Their sales rep was knowledgeable with some very good information. The process of buying was very smooth and they handled nearly all the entire process. They make it very easy for the consumer and everything was done right there on site, didn't have to travel anywhere to go to any type of company. Our home was pre-built and they built it to whatever spec they wanted to go to, whatever paint they want, and whatever carpet they want. That was fine for me, but it would have been better if we were able to choose from options. We've been living in the home for 2 weeks already. A pool would have been nice amenity but I’m satisfied overall.

I have a buddy that works for LGI. We just went out there to look and found a pre-built house that we like and purchased it two weeks ago. I like the community. It’s nice, very private and we're satisfied with their amenities. LGI's sales rep always answered any question I had. Although there are few issues trying to do some stuff, it's all good beyond that. All the rooms are supposed to be pre-mounted for a ceiling fan. They just come with the lights in there, but you’re supposed to be able to hang a ceiling fan. The shower is a little low in our bathroom and then there’s the bathtub. That wall that comes out between them, if they would’ve made that wall two inches longer, they could have made the face of the wall straight. But because they didn’t do that, it’s got a slight curve and you can see that in the floor that goes along the bottom.
It doesn’t bother me, there’s nothing you can do about it, but you could just see where the wall isn’t straight because of that base floor. They have good people and did everything that I asked before we moved in. I know they’re supposed to deal with small issues, but we didn’t run across those at that time so we’re trying to move in and hang fans and that’s not their fault. That’s their contractors’ fault. Other than that, the experience was great.

I picked out the home that I liked and the community that I wanted in. They told me they were in the process of building so I went over there, checked it out and I decided I wanted that. While my house is basic, it feels good and I love it. I had moved out from my apartment on the 3rd floor of a building so I had a lot of stairs. I'm glad I don't have that now and my life is easier. I feel good to come home to something that I own. Also, the community is good and quiet. I like to get out and sit on my porch a lot of days. We looked at two different home builders and LGI seemed to fit our needs. We were downsizing and the home was a great fit for us. We're in the home now and we love it. It still has the brand new smell. Joel was our salesman and he was more than helpful, our interactions with him were great. We went and we talked to Joel if we can get qualified first. Then, after we were, which didn't take long at all, we looked at a house, picked it out. It was already ready to go and was everything we wanted. The loan and everything was all in one location. So, it was very easy.
When we started to pay for it and process was going crazy. Joel just kept us calm and assured us that everything's moving and our home is fine. He kept us informed so it was really easy to do. Right now, we're the only family on the block. But I'm pretty sure there's going to be a lot more people with the way they build. It's just quiet and very nice. I'm very happy with LGI. I really appreciate the ease of the move, the ease of putting it in and the quality people that walk you through it. Being a first-time house owner, you cannot ask for a nicer bunch of people to help you out with this and we really appreciate that. They could have been a little bit more communicative but I could understand that they had a lot of other people.
I was interested in how the house was being built and what was put into it, so I went over the area quite a bit. I saw the house being built from the ground up and everything that was put into it looked pretty good. It looked like it had quality windows and doors and the house looked very energy efficient which is what I like. It was built to my and my wife's satisfaction. We made the purchase on the 21st of August and got a lot of really nice deals on upgrades. Price-wise and everything that was included were also great. My wife and I love the house and we're satisfied with the amenities. Now, we're living the American dream. But we're the only ones in the community and we're waiting to see what kind of neighbors we get. There's a lot of "sold" signs and I think there's another family that's coming in. We closed on August 4th on our prebuilt house from LGI Homes, but my experience with them was rushed, pressured and shady. Their sales rep made a lot of promises but after the housing was completed, he didn't really follow through on a lot of them. It's pretty terrible quality and there were several issues with the house. There were nails sticking out of the wood on the garage door which was pretty dangerous and there's also a strip where the wall meets the roof that only had the primer right underneath there and didn't get painted. Also, the water didn't work at first and when they fixed it, they had to drill in the drywall and it took them a week and a half to come back out and patch them. Several people have asked me if LGI Homes is a good company to work with, but I'd tell them to run the opposite direction.

I wanted to stay in the area where LGI Homes was located because I was renting a house that’s about four miles up the road. And I wanted to be close to 315 and to everything within Winder because of my job. I purchased a house from LGI Homes that was already in the process of being built. Everything was great until about a week before closing. I'm a police officer and I don't make $100,000 a year. So, I had to get the other half gifted from a family member for the closing costs and I'm just going to pay him back in the long run.
The loan officer told me that all he needed from the family member was a copy of the bank statement. So, I got a copy of the bank statement and gave it to him. The next day, the loan officer told me, "Hey, this isn't going to be sufficient enough. I needed it to be stamped from the bank." I went to get a stamp and I brought the statement back. The next day it's still not sufficient enough because it showed that it was pending. I understand that underwriters were picky, but at that point, the loan officer was splitting hairs. It was clear as day on that account where the deduction was from and then on my account where I had deposited the money. And then we went through and went to the bank, so I had to miss work.
I've closed last Tuesday on the 5th and the home was done around Thursday or Friday previous of that week. I went in and did my own walkthrough. Then I found that there were a lot of issues that needed to be fixed before closing. I gave that list to the builder. However, those things were not fixed before closing. When I did my final walkthrough three hours before closing with him, I pointed everything out and he marked everything down. The sheetrock guy was supposed to come on Monday, but still I’m not seeing him. And then there's a few touch of spots that needed to be repainted. I haven’t heard about that as well.
There's also a creak in the upstairs master bedroom that I pointed out to the builder and he said he'd fixed it, but he still hasn't done it yet. In addition to those, I got a stinking three by three back patio. I paid $191,000 for this house so I was expecting it to be a lot bigger, but it is not even big enough for my grill. If it is, I'll be able to open up my back door, open up the grill, flip everything and close it. Lastly, the builder didn’t fill in an entire side of the house. I got a corner lot in the cul-de-sac and the front yard and left side of my house is basically the biggest part of my yard and it goes down to the sidewalk in the street. The builder told me that side of the house would be filled in. But after closing, that wasn’t filled in. And the builder said, "Oh they told me I couldn't." So, I got a huge letter U and there’s a patch in between. I'm not too thrilled about it.

LGI's salesperson was a really nice lady and she did her job well. As for the mortgage company, there was a couple of miscommunications, but they did fine. They were quick and I closed in two weeks. I bought the home and it still had to be finished, so I went through and did a walkthrough on all that needed to be fixed. However, they dragged their feet on it and their subcontractor’s concreting the front. They had to pull a whole slab up, and then when they poured it back, there were three cracks running through it while the rest of the driveway has no cracks.
When they first came out to pour it, the contractor wasn’t going to put a rebar in, he wasn’t going to do anything. He was just going to pour it. I told them, “You can’t pour it.” I said, “This doesn’t have the rebar in it tied into the existing driveway.” Something went wrong when they spilled something when they did the concrete at the front door and they said they’d acid wash it. And they did but there’s a patch on my front door, didn’t get the markup and now left a discoloration where the acid wash is.
Furthermore, there was a wall base that was out three inches. You could just see it with the bow and there was a metal plate in there for no reason, so they dug that out of there and redid it, but the guy didn’t finish the drywall. The superintendent was supposed to call me back. I called their vice president, and he said that "The superintendent would get with you,” and he never got back with me. It’s basically a clean home, but they had a few problems with this one, and their customer service isn’t very good. It bothers me when you go to a new home and you see these defects that should have been taken care of and still not taken care of. I’m still waiting for them to address it, but they haven’t come back to me yet.
According to their paperwork, everything is supposed to be addressed within two weeks after I move in. But that’s went and gone and it’s still not addressed. They’re not watching their subcontractors close enough and their quality has suffered a little bit because of it. Also, the community is a little bit run-down in the area, which is the HOA. They don’t have anything to do with the HOA, but they should be able to have some say in it. But I don’t think there are enough homes in the development to have enough money to do what they’re supposed to do. But I think there will be once they sell it out.

The house is excellent, they’ve put in really good appliances and I love the tile floors and the double pane windows in the kitchen. The carpet in the living room is really nice and soft. And since I have two young kids, I like that it had a built-in child-proof outlet. I like the curving of the granite counter-tops too, how it’s rounded on the edges. We like the placement of the bedroom sink as well in comparison to the master bedroom. After we got the house, we’ve put in an automatic garage door and got the water filtration system installed. The community is good, there is a park, and my six-year-old and I love it. We’re coming from an apartment so this whole house we have is easier, less stressful and better for all of us. I closed on my LGI home on August 8 and it didn’t go as smoothly as I wanted it to go, but it was a learning experience for me. I wish the house would have looked more as the model that you see when you go to the actual LGI location. They have that house all fixed up and nice. I wish there would have been more to it because it feels like I'm paying more to fix it up the way it needs to be fixed up. The blinds and other stuff that needs to be in there should already come with the home, especially when you spend so much money a month on it.
The community would’ve been a nice area to be in but all the houses look the same and I don’t like it. Also, amenities should be offered in the neighborhood because it’s a two-part neighborhood. We have the older homes on one side of the street and the newer homes on the other side of the street. My kids have to walk all the way through the older homes for a park. We went and looked at homes from LGI. The representative that they have in the branch did a really good job at selling the house. I like the fact that when we were coming to look at the houses, they just gave us the key and told us which houses were available for us to go inside and look so we were able to look at the house and have a conversation about it. It was more comfortable, the fact that they gave us that freedom to go and look at the house without them being in every room with us. We liked the price and we purchased a prebuilt home. We’ve moved in about a month ago.
So far, it’s been good. However, before we moved in, when we did the walkthrough with the guy about the warranty, I wrote down a bit of things such as marks on the wall, then our commode which is up against the wall has no space and so the lid at the top of the commode sticks out. So when my husband uses the toilet and raises the seat, it doesn’t stay up because it pushes the lid forward and so it doesn’t let the toilet seat stay up. And our lock on our door is messed up. There’s a lot of things that I wrote down that they haven’t even tried to come out and fix. We were told that they will be fixed the first week upon moving but we’ve been here for a month now.
The carpet and flooring have been good except for the little bubbling that I saw but it’s not really noticeable. I just caught it with the door open and the light hit it perfectly that I could see it. Other than that, the quality is good. The carpet’s soft and comfortable when you come in. The color of the floor and carpet that they chose was really nice. We like the appliances but we want to upgrade them eventually. We don’t really like the black but it’s livable. However, when we were cooking on the stove and the microwave is above our stove, the vent doesn’t trap out any air. We didn’t notice it until we had moved.
I like that everybody’s yard was really nice and that they did the landscaping. I wish though that there’s a landscaping in the back because it is just rocks and dirt, no plant, no grass. The slab on our backyard is just a small slab that when you walk out at the back door it’s really high up there. I’ve almost lost my balance quite a few times just going up there. Nevertheless, I really like our home. It’s very pretty and we’re really pleased with it.

Gabe the sales rep explained the process of purchasing the home and up until everything then Marlene the loan officer gave us all the info we needed. They’re awesome. They gave us about 45 days for the process and it went pretty smooth. There were just some things on our part that had to be fixed so they had our timeframe extended.
I have a few concerns and one of them is the shower. It’s off-base and it drains water to the floor. And two of the doors look off like they were cut wrong so it’s awkward. We’re also having the black lovebugs. They are really rampant in Texas right now. And so they’ve been under the front door, so my walkway is full of black bugs every day. I was told to wait till the 11th-month evaluation but I would rather deal with it now than later.
Other than that, settling in has worked perfectly for me. I’m away from all the hustle and bustle. The traffic is still there, but I’m not so concerned with it like I was before. I like that it’s a nice, quiet, country-like neighborhood. Everything is looking together now, so I love it. And it’s especially different now that I’m a homeowner. I don’t have to pay rent anymore. I pay a mortgage, and that will be mine.

I got a prebuilt home and they just needed to complete certain stuff on it. But its quality could have been a little better. I had to make a claim from the hurricane Irma as our shingles were moved, similar to their other newly built homes. But the first homes that were previously built, there were no shingles moved.
What lured me to the company was I liked what we saw with the house itself and then the yard. However, LGI started to delete certain aspects of what really lured us to the company such as the yard. When I initially went to the company in Cartersville, Georgia, it had grass out in the backyard. They have it now sodded and seeded. They also used to have fences and bricks in the front of the home for design but they’re saying that they are no longer doing fences and the bricks. The information we asked for was never provided and things I asked about changed a month later before I made the deposit. I was told my mortgage payment would be deferred for two months and they scheduled my closing on the 31st. So when it showed on the closing paperwork that my first payment would be on October 1st, I told them they made a mistake and this is supposed to be November. She said, "No. It wouldn't be November. I left you closed tomorrow." I said, "Let's close tomorrow then. What the hell are we doing here now? Why would I want to make an additional payment? You told me two months." She then told me my closing costs were going to change. I thought they were going to prorate it for a day before she told me it was going to be $2,000.
And they left things out, for example, there was no garage door opener motor. If they're not going to have the motor in, why wouldn't they tell me? It wasn't something that was logical for me to ask because the house was under construction when I made the offer. Then I asked them if the home was ready for internet and cable, and they told me yes. Then I came to find out that it would be a month or two before I get any internet because of what was going on between them and Comcast. I said, “I told you I’m closing my business and I’m moving my business over to my home. And I can’t run my business with no internet.” It's small potatoes but when you add it all up, it's just a mess.
I asked them the different names of companies where they got materials that they used, and never got a list of that. So I don't know who the carpeting manufacturer is and who the cabinetry manufacturer is or where they bought those from. I don't know the plumbing. I asked them what kind of a roof it was and they can't tell me what roof, even if they were building 7 visible homes right now. I'm waiting for the shingles to show up to see who the manufacturer was. Plus, they bought the worst garage door you could possibly buy. A guy in Bangladesh who parks his cow in the garage has a better garage door than I do. Somehow these people couldn't come up with names until I've passed other people in the neighborhood.
Then they tell me that the post office has the key to the mailbox. When I went to the post office, they looked at me cross-eyed and asked why would they have the key if the unit has never been lived in and that the builders will key it first and then give me the keys, then if I need it rekeyed, they can rekey. Oh my god, I paid 40 bucks to get a key that I shouldn't have to pay 40 bucks for.
Hi Michael,
We apologize for your experience. That is most definitely not typical of our process, nor a true reflection of our dedication to exceptional customer service.

I purchased my house from LGI Homes about 30 days ago. I liked the layout and the floor plan that I chose, and the quality of the build was fine and fair. My interactions with the LGI people were very positive, informative, and smooth. It was a no surprise, very easy and great experience.

We closed on our home with LGI Homes last month and the whole process was straightforward. It's a prebuilt house and in a great community which I love. It's a decent built home but with some not so great finish work. I mentioned to the LGI people what I was going through and that we've noticed a bunch of defects with the trim and paint. They're going to handle it and I'm happy about that. The LGI reps were good, very helpful, friendly, nice people to talk with, informative, and they get back to me. I'd recommend LGI Homes to a friend.

We were looking for a home during our Texas relocation and we found LGI Homes. I wanted a new home with the warranties and I got a pre-built one. We finalized on it last August 28th. The tub in the guest bathroom wasn’t draining but they came in, broke the wall and fixed it. They still have to come back and paint. I had two appointments and the painters haven’t shown up yet. But everything else is fine. Victor has been great through the whole process. I've met Nate and he was great too. I love the house and the community is quiet even with construction going on. I have some problems with VA and what they wanted but LGI has been great and outstanding.

We purchased a nice, decent, pre-built home from LGI Homes. They’re very affordable and has a friendly environment. Our sales rep was very helpful and she let us know what was going on and know if we needed anything. She also kept us up-to-date on everything. The carpet is good but I don't like the garage door because it has paint peeling off already. Nevertheless, my children and I are enjoying our new home. It's a nice, quiet neighborhood. It’s convenient too because we have a lot of things around that's very easy to get to. I like the schools, they’re excellent. They’re really close and my children are enjoying them.

I work in the housing industry and I felt like LGI Homes gave me the most bang for my buck. I purchased a halfway-built home from them three months ago and they're helpful and fantastic. The process seemed simple and easy and there’s not a lot of pressure. The sales rep explained and walked us through everything. Also, the way they put together the material, the upgrades and the appliances was really good. The upgrades they gave and my experience with them were really good compared to other companies I've seen. The LGI new home community is really nice and quiet and I like that. The parks are well-taken care of, too. Living in our new home is great and we're a lot happier.

My daughter was building in the area and she referred us to LGI Homes. We also liked the area and we didn’t look at any other builder. We stopped by one day, got into looking and timing was good so we went ahead and did the deal. It was easy and fast, and their sales representatives were excellent. They were friendly, helpful, excited for us and made it easy. The house was still under construction when we did our transaction but we saw model units. It's good quality but we have a punch list that hasn’t been completed yet so I'm sending LGI Homes that list. I'm hoping they’ll come and solve those things. We've also met several people in the community and they seemed fine. Other than that, our new home is further out than where we've been so it's a longer commute for me but the energy-efficiency is good. We downsized from a larger home so the electric bill looks to be a lesser amount.

LGI built a home for us and the process of building the home went pretty good. Our sales representative, Delilah, was extremely nice. At the very beginning, she was pretty new so there were some things that were not communicated very well. It caused a little bit of confusion. But her manager came back and we all talked. We smoothed everything out. And from then on, it went really smooth.
The quality of the build could be better though. One can tell where the studs are in the sub-flooring in the second floor. When we look at the ceiling, we can see where the form was set. But for the price and where it’s located, it’s good enough quality and it’s a fair price. The streets are nice. We’re down in Houston so hurricane Harvey just happened. My house didn’t flood. So the drainage on the streets worked really well. Right now, they don’t have any amenities ‘cause we’re one of the first people to move in to the community. I have a son and looking at the projections of the park and the little gazebo, they look really nice. They’ve started putting the park together. I will be happy with that.
We were living in an apartment and were walking up and downstairs and constantly having to find new parking spots and whatnot. So being in the house is definitely a big help because we just pull on our driveway and to our garage. I also like the security of having a garage door. My son and wife can pull into it and close the garage door. They don’t have to walk across the parking lot and up to the house. We’ve already recommended some friends to LGI. They have excellent customer service. They tried everything they could to accommodate me and my wife. The construction managers at our site did an excellent job on their walkthrough and were very informative through the whole process.

We had a two-bedroom apartment which had five grownups living in. Two of our sons didn't have a place to live so we had them park with us and that's what made decide to go ahead and buy another house. I made the decision to go with LGI Homes because of the possibility of zero down. We had a tremendous interaction with the salesman, Chad. My realtor and Chad explained to me what would be necessary to get done in order to have zero down. And so I just followed their instructions and within six weeks we're in the house.
LGI Homes signed off from my house, construction-wise on July 27. We had the walk-through on the 28th and closed on the 31st. However they couldn’t make any changes with the plan because the city requires a special permit to make custom homes and LGI didn't have that. But the house is very sound. I'm putting the air conditioner down around 72 or 71. It gets you down to 71 and then it cuts off. It doesn't run all day. I like that. If the family's away it's super super efficient. The only thing I miss about the house was that it didn't have a patio.
Everybody in my family has their own space now and they’re happy. The new community we live in is very nice too. We're in phase 5 of the subdivision and about 2/3 of the houses are occupied while the remaining are still in construction. They have a nice playground for the kids. The community pool also has full bathrooms for men and women, which I don’t see in other community pools. I'd recommend LGI to anybody. I enjoyed every aspect of it.

There were some things that the LGI reps should have told us before we purchased the house. For instance, there’s no garage door opener and doorbell. It would have been nice to know ahead of time. Who would’ve thought to look for our garage door opener? That would come with the house. Also, the quality of the things that they put in here is not very good. There were a bunch of stuff that you don’t see. They’ve bumped the wall here, or this plug doesn’t work, and you have to call and put a report in to fix it. Since they’re brand new, they were really hard to plug in. Four or five plugs don’t work and eventually cracked. And when we removed the countertop, there were water bottles and trash. That’s the only part that we’ve even gone in and did renovation on in the kitchen.
Also, when I walk on the carpet, I can feel that there’s something underneath it, from when they’re just laying the carpet on top and not cleaning it. There’s probably five or six spots in the carpet that you can feel. We had their rep last time and today because the back door on one side is hollowed in. He’s supposed to be here five minutes ago and he’s not here yet. Plus, they also forgot to caulk a couple of things. We also took out the brand new stove and refrigerator and replaced them with the ones that are going to work. I saw the light fixture in the bedroom and it was for $7. It's the small stuff that you would find like in a trailer home instead of a new house.
They used the cheapest of the cheapest. Sometimes you get what you pay for, so I take that into consideration as well. We’ve only been here for a month. The neighbors seem very friendly and the community is okay. We investigated before we even moved in about the crime rate so we had it all figured out beforehand. The whole thing was good, but I probably wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

We purchased our home from LGI in July since there weren't a lot of new homes being put up in the area with the pricing. Their reps were really helpful and our salesperson, Diego, was awesome. He's really the one that sealed the deal with everything. LGI ended up calling us back four times to look at different houses since the first house we looked at didn't have a backyard and the last house was the one that we wanted. The buying process was mostly easy and the person who looked over the paperwork in terms of getting the loan was overly busy, so it took a little bit of time to get things situated. Other than that, they slacked a lot with the painting since there were a lot of paint drops that they didn't notice right away. But everything else is working well. Living in our home is relaxing and there's more room for everything.

LGI Homes had the commitment and worth for quality. They were building the home and I bought it before it was completed. So, I put a deposit down and I looked at it in July and they had a closing date in August. Their sales reps were good and kept me very informed as well. However, where it went downhill was my orientation to my new home and the things that weren't done that they took note of. One of the doors drag, one of the door frames in the bedroom is cracked, and there are no door stops. I have a punch list of about 25 things. They told me they would be fixed them within 72 hours. But it is August 30th and it's still not done.
I met with the project lead Danny and he took good notes and even asked if I would leave my key with him so he could finish this. But the only thing I can see they did was they put in the shower door. This is the stuff I would expect from a brand new home. So, my realtor wrote a letter to the CEO of LGI Homes and I got a call on Monday. They promised me that it would all be fixed. Their pre-sales was wonderful but the quality of work was poor. What really bothers me is they really stressed at the closing about their commitment and integrity, but I didn't see any action on that and right now, I am not happy. I would not recommend LGI Homes.

My experience with LGI Homes was a complete mess up. We applied for the house in June and we didn't get to move in until August. They kept telling us it'll be closing this date, this date, this date and it took two months because they didn’t have their procedures set up for people who are self-employed or who own a business. Right before the last date for the closing, I was at the point of cancelling the whole thing because the communication was not good. They kept asking for more paperwork. I understand that they have to have income information but it just kept getting worse and worse. To top it off, last week or week before last, they called and told me I had to send more papers because the original ones didn't come through correctly. And those were some of the first ones I ever sent. They had all that time to put their paperwork together and they didn't do it. And then, what we were told in the sales department was not what finally happened.
I was upset with the whole procedure. The people were nice and they said they keep trying to help but the lack of communication on the mortgage company's half, not keeping us informed of what was going on and they didn't tell us that they'd asked for papers on Thursday or Friday and they'd say, "We'll get it in there Monday. We'll get right back to you." And then, I had to call to find out. And when I called it's like, "Oh, well, we won't know 'til after Thursday afternoon." They need to get the paperwork that they needed up front. If it doesn't apply, they don't have to say it. But if it does apply to the next people, I'm sure they would appreciate knowing it up front instead of every week having to produce more documents. The salesman also said that they were going to replace the appliances because the house had been shown so many times, which they did not do.
And then, they told us we had a one-year warranty and then we did the walk-through. It was, "Oh, well, that's just on our part and you have 14 days to get everything reported and everything else you have to go through the people that actually installed it." They should tell that up front. Don’t wait 'til the last second when you're in a position where you can't back out because that's the kind of position I was in and I didn't appreciate it.
We're in the home now and we've reported the problems that we found. But, it still grates on me. We've been in the home now for three or four weeks and it was somewhere around the second week of August that we moved in, and I keep trying to get the water, the utilities changed. And they still haven't done their part so that I can get the water changed into our name. I've been trying to do it since we moved in. I've called the water company. My daughter called it once and I've called it twice and they cannot do it until the company gets their part done. The LGI community that we live in is okay. It's a nice area although it's taking some getting used to because it's farther out than where we originally lived but it’ll be fine.

We were out looking at resale homes per month in an adult retirement area and they were old and dilapidated. One of the buddies that I worked with said that LGI Homes is building brand-new homes in Sundance. We love our sales rep and I will give her the highest marks. She showed us three houses, and the one we got was pre-built. I thought the process was going to take a long time but it was immensely easy. Everything happened exactly how we were told, including the financing and closing happened on the date it was supposed to. Everything and everybody along the way were super.

LGI Homes provided excellent customer service. They were very thorough and honest all the way through. The sales rep Steve was very knowledgeable as well, and he answered all my questions and guided me properly. The experience was absolutely smooth. I purchased a spec home one month ago and the quality is pretty good, but I wish there's a medicine cabinet and towel racks in the bathroom. When I walk in the bathroom, it feels so weird to be looking at the wall. The medicine cabinet is not there and that's where I kept my shaving equipment. The same thing with the towel racks and they're driving me crazy. But other than that, the amenities are pretty cool and we also have a phenomenal community. Although my commute to work is 20 minutes longer, I took the sacrifice because it's a good neighborhood. I have been more mentally relaxed since living in our new home and there's a sense of accomplishment too.

Everything ran smoothly. The LGI reps were very helpful and did everything. From the beginning to end, making our purchase took less than 30 days. What made it so easy, which we didn't know was going to happen was the closing procedures. Everything was online. We were first-time buyers so some of the programs that they had helped out.
We're very pleased with the quality of our home, too. There are some qualities that we see that we didn't see in the newer homes like the flooring. I would spend extra money somewhere else that I didn't really expect to get what I wanted, but then they were in this home. The only downfall I could see and it's a small thing is it did not come with a garage door opener. But this allows the homeowner to decide what he would like to have, which gave me the option because I got the one that I wanted. Everything was great with LGI. They make better-quality homes. We try to recommend to people who are looking for homes to check out LGI Homes, especially where we live at because they're still building.

We had a problem with one of the LGI houses so we had to switch. We initially picked one lot, which is the largest, and the backyard is going to be big. Then we looked and there's no backyard. We talked to our guy, Malik and right away, he gave us another lot to pick. We did the whole process with the foundation and framing. Everything went well until it was time to put the Sheetrock. It was only one in the master bedroom where there was more than a half inch gap and there was no plywood in the back towards the upper corner of the top of where they connect the roof and the wall. So we had to talk to Malik. He said he was going to talk to the construction manager. It took them a week before they started putting all the Sheetrock on the second floor.
A week passes and they covered all the gaps. I said “Are they going to fix it at least, at least that one that has a gap?” He replied, “Well, I didn’t get the response I wanted from the construction manager.” So he gave us the construction manager’s phone number and we spoke with him. We met him at the house and told him our concerns and told him half an inch is not normal. We checked the surrounding houses in the area because they're on the step of the Sheetrock and they had no gaps. What the construction manager said was, “No. That’s the way we make our houses and we're not going to fix it. If you don’t like it, you can cancel.” So we talked to Nate, the LGI manager regarding switching. It took four months for the whole process from start to end.
Nate gave us properties to look at that were already almost done, but we didn’t like those. One was on a hill and we can't really enjoy the backyard. The other one, the backyard was right there near the main street. He then mentioned the house that we're in right now. They hadn't done the Sheetrock yet but it had a nice yard. We liked it. Before signing our new contract, we waited for the Sheetrock to be done. We came by to see it before we went to the office to sign and there were no gaps. Everything was good and so we proceeded with the process. There was no stress because when we would see stuff wrong in the house, we would tell them and we would expect it to get fixed. The house we got right now was almost done. When we came by and saw it, we loved it.
We come by a week later, we see that the driveway was chipped by someone. It had chips on both sides. I let Malik know and he told his bosses, but nothing was getting fixed. The house was almost done and the driveway was with two little chips. So I go to the office and I tell Raphael about the driveway. Also, there was a crack on the laundry door. We like to come by to see the construction process. When they were installing the carpet and they were in the last piece, my husband looks underneath and found that they don’t even clean the floors before installing the carpet. The carpet people said that it's not their job. The workers before them were supposed to clean the floors. My husband was infuriated, so he went to the office and talked to Raphael because we expected to know what's in our house. Why would you not do stuff right? There shouldn’t be a crack or chip on the driveway on both sides. The process should be done right.
Raphael told us, “Well, I think they're overlooking the details.” I told him, “Well, it's there. I showed them pictures.” He said, “Okay. I'll take care of it.” Two weeks passed, the house is almost done. They're almost finished installing the floors, but nothing was fixed. We had a final walkthrough of the house with Greg, but when we came by, all they did was patch the driveway, which was nice. I didn’t expect them to completely take out or cut out the driveway to pour more concrete. We go upstairs and the laundry door is not fixed. The carpet, I don’t know if they ever took it out and cleaned it but it's fine. We just had to move already. We've been waiting for four months, and we were living with friends for two months. So it was time. When we spoke with Greg, we pointed out everything. We pointed out the nails that were in the siding of the house. Right away, he called someone and someone came right away.
When we go downstairs, there is a place that needed paint. Right away, he called the painters and they came and painted it. There were some nails that were sticking out. He got a hammer and fixed it himself. We told him about someplace in the restroom that need caulking. He fixed it right away. We told him about the laundry door. He didn’t fight us with anything. Greg, right away, would fix things. Our closing date was Monday but because he was able to fix all the little things that we told him that day of the walkthrough, we were able to close that Friday, August 4, at 5:00.
Out of the whole process, everyone was wonderful. The only issue was with John, the construction manager. John was totally opposite of Greg. Malik was awesome. He would hear us out. Raphael backed him up. Kristie made the paperwork easy. She made us understand everything. If we had any questions, she answered them. They were always available through text or call. Nate was good, too.
We finally moved in. Greg told us about the laundry room which has this pan that the washer goes in. If there was a leak, it would just go straight directly outside and I like it. The shelves are already built into the home. That’s an awesome idea. The double-paned windows and all the vents on the roof are really cool. Because we were living with my friends for two months, we only had one restroom. Now, we have better space and rooms, and finally, three restrooms instead of one. We felt good and so relaxed on our first night. We're finally home. I would recommend LGI Homes to a friend.

They tried to get me in here as fast as possible because it was raining and they got me right on time. There’s just a lot of paperwork, but that comes with everything we do. They told us that we could use the playground, but once I lived here, I found out that we cannot use it because that’s with the other subdivision. There are no amenities. And it’s not just me who's very dissatisfied. All of our neighbors here have the same sentiment. Despite the amount we're gonna pay with the HOA, we cannot see where it goes to. Also, I've been complaining since I transferred because the aircon is not working but until now, no one came over to fix it. I’m still living in a very warm house. I went with LGI Homes because I didn't know if I can afford a house. I have bad credit, so they told me what to do and I did it. Their rep was very helpful. It was June, just before the kid's summer vacation, and I was looking to get out of the apartment. We were going to put money down for real estate because we're looking for a land for our mobile home when the LGI rep called me up. He told me not to put down a $1000 because they have a new program. So I went ahead and told him that we'd be there. We just put the $1000 down and they helped me out with the rest. There wasn't much paperwork involved because LGI went through the government. The house was being built as we signed the papers. It's a two-story house and we moved in on August 24th. It was everything we were looking for. I even threw away my old microwave because the house already came with one.
There are already a dozen of families in the block but they don't have children, so we are waiting for new people to come in so that our kids can go outside and play with them. My wife is also a real housewife now. She gets to walk around and she doesn't have to worry about who's upstairs or about cars. She has her own parking now. When we were in the apartment we didn't go out at all because she would lose her parking space. Also, our apartment was $1000 and we're only paying $1200 for our house. LGI is top-rated and they are really neat. They were always helping us out. I’d recommend them.

I've been living in a home for 24 years then I divorced and moved out to an apartment, but I thought I needed to get my own home. I got a flyer from LGI Homes by mail and what caught me was it said no down payment. The sales rep, Jeff was very courteous and helpful. Everybody, from the loan officer to the people that worked to sell me the house, was super nice too. I could call them anytime and they were they were there for me. The buying process didn't take long. I provided what they asked for and they did my credit report. Everything went by smoothly. I made the purchase almost a month ago now. The house was pre-built, but it wasn't like I couldn't make any changes to it.
However, the quality could be better. The paint inside the house is cheap and it comes off with any little scratch. I like the cabinets, but the workers were not careful in putting it together. There's always something wrong with them. Like one of the cabinets had a break on the wood. It's very obvious and I had mentioned it when they did the tour, but I don't think they can fix that and that would have to stay there. They also scratched the doors and put white paint over it but it doesn't look right and we can tell the difference between the door and the paint.
I also wish we could have had more say on what kind of grass I wanted, the appliances and the colors. It's okay if we can't change the way it's structured or add or subtract, but having a say on what color of appliances we want, whether black or white, would have made a difference. Instead, those are chosen for us but I can live with that. I love the house still and the appliances are great. It's a small house too, and it cools really quickly. I don't have to have it at 72. 75 is fine.
They already have a swimming pool that's close by where I live but they're still building around me and the community is quiet. However, I got a letter saying that some other company bought out LGI Homes. It’s just shocking that they built it and I'm going to be paying somebody else. I even have to call and ask if it's for real or not. I've had so many offerings of how they found out I bought a new and now this. But other than that, my experience has been excellent and I would really recommend LGI Homes. I really liked it.

We purchased a new pre-built home from LGI last August 7th. They happened to have a ranch floorplan and it suited what my wife and I were looking for at the time. It was very good dealing with their sales rep. They were friendly, reliable and courteous. Before the closing, we had a walkthrough of the home with the contracted builder. He showed how things operated and gave us instructions about things. Then we also pointed out things that needed attention. After that, we had our closing, and then we moved in. The only disappointing thing was they did not do any customizations.
Since settling in, we're finding that things aren't the way we would like them to be. For one, with the electrical work that was done, it seems like there are outlets and switches that are lacking. They're just not where you would expect them to be especially in a new home. Also, the shower in the master bedroom is extremely tiny. It's one of those things where when we saw it, we thought it was going to be okay. But when we're actually using it now, we find that it's not satisfactory. Overall, Well, we're happy with the floorplan and the layout from LGI. There just wasn't enough thought put into buying our home.

I've gotten a lot of good feedback in regards to LGI Homes. I also like their particular location with the combination of the price. I purchased a prebuilt new home from them about a month ago and the process was fast. I had a very good experience working with their sales rep. He was very approachable, personable and friendly. He was able to answer all of my questions too. Even today after the purchase, he's still able to answer any questions that I have. The purchase process was straightforward and a lot easier than buying a used house. I've been in the market for a while trying to find a home and it was a very stressful process. So, once I sat down with LGI and got to the actual closing process, they laid it all out. They were very transparent.
Because I used the Florida Bond Program, they had to do an inspection, but everything went through perfectly. LGI should continue working with the bond program and any other public assistance because they were able to help me through that. They worked with my lender to get the bond program going for me, and that made the whole buying process so much smoother. It's great that LGI does it and I hope they keep doing it.
Everything looked good with the house. It's very good structurally too. My daily life is a lot smoother now. From a one-bedroom apartment, I went to a three-bedroom, two-bath house which is really nice. I also like the set up of the community that we live in. I like that there are two exits too because one of the biggest things for me is being able to get in and out. I'm definitely satisfied with the amenities the community has right now as well. It's very diverse - they have some for the kids, pets, and families. The only thing that I was wondering about is if they might think about installing a gym as part of the amenity center. But I'm in phase one, so they’ll probably make plans and changes as we go.

Price was the main factor in our going with LGI Homes. We weren't ready to buy a house this year, but their prices made this possible, so we were happy. Our interactions with the sales reps were mainly positive. We had one issue with the sales rep at another LGI development within Charlotte, but everyone else was great and able to help us. They were on the ball with everything and the whole process happened very quickly, which was great.
However, the closing was a little stressful. We had to submit certain documents repeatedly and this was frustrating. We were both working full-time so that was not convenient. Also, within two weeks, we found out that our mortgage had been sold, and we think this was pre-planned. It made us anxious that maybe we didn't have our eyes completely open. We called and talked to the original company about this matter, and they said that was common. But surely, if it was that common, for transparency and peace of mind they could have let us know that was a possibility and it would have been nice to know that was going to happen.
We closed one month ago, on July 31st, and LGI had already built the house when we came in. There were some things that obviously needed to get fixed before we moved in and a couple of little things that popped up. The water pressure in the faucet in the half bath downstairs was fairly low on closing day and within two days this was negligible. I brought this to the builder's attention, but they shrugged us off, so we had to fix it ourselves within a month after we moved in.
You get what you pay for. I wouldn't choose a house with vinyl flooring or plastic finishing, but for the money we paid, that's the quality we can expect, and we've done well. The commute is a little bit longer for me now, but the community has been good so far. Our neighbors are still moving in gradually, but they seem nice. I've also seen the park and if my nephew comes by, I'd feel good about taking him there. Overall, we made a good choice and we're happy with our new home.

We purchased a tract house from LGI Homes and the price was right plus we were happy with the layout and the area. We’ve only been in the house for a little over a month, and the quality’s good so far. We're located between two major travelling outlets, which is nice. I have my choice and I can either go downtown or I can go over to Bethlehem. Everything about this area is beautiful. We're from California, the desert, so we're in awe of all the green and the trees. The neighbors around here that I've met seem nice. Everybody's friendly, always waving at me when out front.
The only issue was we were trying to get escrow to close sooner than they were able to. They had a management change so the office was closed when we didn't expect it. But it's how the system worked. We knew they would close at the end of the month so they could get their books for August done. I understand that. But it's kind of frustrating for the homeowner trying to get things to be different. But they have their agenda, we have ours. It's just life.
I'm also disappointed that the HOA doesn't make sure these people keep the yards up better. They've got these open areas behind our property that weeds are growing 10 feet tall. They told us it was HOA's responsibility but we found out it's not. It is our property but the fence only goes to the end of the slope and then down the slope, apparently, still is ours. But we didn't know that at the time so it was a big concern. We weren't pleased with and still aren't. But it's not LGI's fault the Homeowners' Association isn't doing their job. Other than that this has been an interesting experience. I've never bought a new home before and it’s fun fixing it up. LGI's house is nice and they did everything they could to accommodate us.

The home we got from LGI is comfortable and is a good place for us. Their sales representative, Fred, was resourceful in terms of information. We had a day where we visited him. We also visited the site at one time and he showed us the house. He spoke about the policy, which we were interested in. Fred said the closing cost was free and that was a promotion for us. So we bought a pre built home that we chose not to customize.
After the purchase, we had a few issues which the warranty covered. One of them was the internet service. Initially, LGI Homes had a deal with our security system. The system was installed in our master’s bedroom closet. We had to go back and forth to identify the actual person responsible for the connection since the internet service provider was telling us that they have nothing to do with the wiring. At the same time, the builder also tried to contact the person who installed the wires inside the house. So he had to come out there while we figured out who the actual person we can reach out and bring home to know what we did wrong in getting the internet configured.
That was the only pain area, other than that, everything else went well. LGI Homes has a pretty good location. We have calm neighbors and a good community of people who live around us. We have peace of mind when we get home and it is something that we appreciate because whenever something goes wrong, we can always reach out and contact the LGI office at any point in time. Their after-service is what impressed me. They are friendly and are very good in responding to us without any further delays. Overall, I really had a viewpoint and idea of what point of time will I be focusing my hand, and how would things go forward, and when I can start my closing. Every single thing was decided. There was no room for confusion.

We purchased our prebuilt home from LGI Homes a month ago. However, I was misled into believing that they did owner finance, which got me there, but it turned out they didn't. But we ended up getting a loan through a loan company and it worked out. The house may be cheaper and the doors are nicer in the neighborhood that I go in. The front door had window glass pane and it looked like the glass they used was nicer. And I don't know if they're higher in price. But looking at those and now understanding houses and how they're built and what they're built with, I would have loved to have some of those features. Other than that, the quality of the house is pretty good. Being a first-time buyer, I didn't know what to expect. But it wasn’t bad at all.

I was not wanting to buy a new home and was very skeptical. But after talking to friends who had either worked with LGI Homes before or for a company that works with LGI, I was able to make the decision to sign I went in expecting the hard sell but the representative were great and provided the facts, and I appreciate that.
The faucets in the kitchen and bathroom were nicer than what was in the model so it was a pleasant surprise. However, it is sort of flabbergasting that the garage door openers are not added. When I hired the person that LGI said I had to hire in order to keep the warranty intact, which there was only one company, he just stapled the wires to the wall in my garage without saying that they're not going to run it through the ceilings. So now I'm left with what is not aesthetically pleasing, but more concerning to me are open wires. I'm going to try and figure out a way to make sure that these aren't interfered with.
Another thing is the back fence. It was made so poorly that I'm going to have to either spend a lot of money to fix it or have to pay to buy a new one in just a few years. When I asked LGI about it, the response was it's how they do it, which is not the response that would be acceptable considering I just bought the house for a lot of money. There are only two slots holding the pickets and the beams were built in a way that they are going to sag. I've been in the house for a month and I've already got beams that are sagging so I'm going to have to add extra posts or do something to brace them so that I don't have to replace them.
I had pickets that were already warped where I can see into the neighbor's yard warped. This was before closing and when I brought it up, the person who walked me said that he would be willing to go around the other construction site and bring me pickets to replace them but it was going to be on me to get out there with a hammer and pull those old pickets off and put the new ones on. I also wasn’t pleased that the backyard was just dirt. I have a row of corn growing in my backyard that just showed up because I guess it was a cornfield before. So now I've got stocks of corn as tall as I am. Had they put sod down, it wouldn't have happened.
When I did the initial walkthrough, the construction walked me into the front door, and the dining room is immediately off the front door. It took me having to say it's not straight before it was fixed, which I'm a little disappointed. The flashing on the front door is not done well. The water guard has had to be replaced on my back door and they'll need to be replaced on my front door too because love bugs are getting in somehow. There are no gutters, which I understand since it's a starter home, which is something that would have been helpful in a hurricane. Also, the doors of the refrigerator that were put in here initially were opening the wrong way. I mentioned it and within a couple of days, LGI had found the correct refrigerator so I appreciated that.
Overall, the house is great and I'm pleased. I've tried to buy houses up the market and it was a nightmare. Doing it with LGI Homes was much easier. I've always lived in apartments and it's nice to come home to somewhere that I don’t have to even think about the person who is living above or on the side of me. I have a parking spot and it's something that I'm putting my money into rather than just spending.

Also, I was very impressed with LGI even over other home builders that I've dealt with. They were very personable, very knowledgeable about trying to meet my needs and what me and my family needed. I got a pre-built house and I closed on it on July 27th. The quality of the build was good. I know that they had been sitting for a while and when we finally got in there, we've noticed a few little things here and there. But the guys were able to come out and address some of the things that we had seen. I'm glad we made a good choice in the neighborhood, and location, and the home itself. We signed on August 3rd on the prebuilt that we purchased. We're still unpacking and still kind of getting used to it. But the house didn't have the ceiling fans and the garage door opener. I'm a single mom, and it's going to take me a little bit of time to get those into the house. But they were trying not to put that into my 30-year mortgage so I get that. LGI Homes was convenient in terms of the location where they were building their homes. I was looking for a house to buy, mainly as an investment. I saw some of their models and looked at the construction and their processes, and I was satisfied with that. LGI built the home that I eventually purchased. It was in the process of being built when I was looking for a home purchase. I went one evening to look at the homes and they were all sold out. But the sales rep, Anna, said that a home might come back in the market because the owner may not have gotten financing for it. As soon as a home came back on the market, she called me and I purchased it about a month ago.
Anna was wonderful and carried through everything that I asked for and anything that she promised to do. She answered any questions that I had and if I called her and asked a question that she couldn’t answer, then she responded to me within a day. I once complained about the roof not getting done and she got in contact with the guy that was responsible for that and put some heat on him to get it done.
On the whole, LGI Homes treated me really well. The community in Highland Meadow is very nice. They’ve got a new and very clean and decent pool. The only thing I would complain about is that I had to pay upfront for the home before the closing. That was weird because, normally, home buyers first do the walk-through of the home and if they find any problems, the seller would fix these before the closing. But in this case, they asked me to pay a couple of days in advance before we did the walk-through. I had no problem with this because I figured that it's a brand new home and there shouldn't be a lot of problems with it. But at the walk-through, we found a lot of minor stuff that had to be fixed. We did the walk-through at 1:00 in the day and then they did the closing at 2:00.
I pointed the minor problems out to the guy from LGI that was doing the walk-through with me and he said that LGI is going to get those problems fixed. But that didn’t get done in a timely fashion. Until now, there's a part of the roof that a forklift hit and caused some damage to it, and I have to call them every week to remind them to fix it. Overall, though, their price is very competitive. For the value of the home and the quality of products that are used, their homes are good. For example, the windows are double-insulated and the surround shower is painted, and the paint they used on the home is one of the best. These are little things that the normal person probably wouldn’t know about, but those little things mean a lot. That means that they build a home that would last for a while. My experience with LGI Homes was great and I would buy another home from them.

I found LGI Homes in a Craigslist ad. Their sales reps were very professional and answered all my questions. I liked how they sat me down beforehand. They told me that they wanted to make sure I was qualified and the financial situation worked out before they even let me choose or look at a home. They didn't want to get my hopes up and I respected that. They also told me that they wanted me to have a pleasant home experience and to be in a home that I can financially afford. That was awesome too.
LGI was also very fast. I was given less than 30 days to move out of my old house by my way in North and I was on a very strict time. I commend all these guys at LGI because we closed in 28 days. I closed on my home on July 31. I chose a prebuilt home and I liked the build. But the landscaping could've been better. The first heavy rain came through and I have a whole bunch of divots in my yard. Unfortunately, the builder doesn't cover anything outside the home. I thought that would be covered under a warranty, but I had to pay somebody to fix that.
The community is great and very friendly as well. It’s a nice place to live in. I've also met both of my neighbors and we have our own private Facebook group where we can ask any questions that we have. The last community I lived in was awful. There were a lot of Section 8 happening so people were trying to make money off their homes. When the community around us started going downhill, people leased their homes after the government got Section 8 housing. We just moved in and we didn't want to take care of the whole neighborhood. They weren't the kind of people that I wanted to have a family around and I haven't seen any of that here with Lucky Ranch. I am impressed with how LGI handled business and I would totally recommend them. I've also told everyone that I've hang out with in Texas to get LGI.

He was also very thoughtful and he made us feel at ease when we thought our other house wasn’t going to sell. He made things go smoothly and did everything we needed done.
We're empty nesters, so we downsized from the house we were in and the whole reason that we did this was so we don’t have as much to take care of as we used to. I went to LGI to see if they had any homes that I would be interested in and about a month ago, I purchased a pre-built house from them. They had to do some finishings on it but I couldn’t change or pick out anything. It was a little aggravating when two days before finishing the home, they expected me to do the walkthrough, find things wrong, and still do the closing. I had a door that screwed up and I needed to have someone come and install a water system. My neighbor also told me that LGI should've put my window screens but I didn’t get them until almost a week after I closed. I even had to go in and pay for the walls for them to patch up, and they didn’t do that. This was almost a $300,000 purchase and not a $10 one, yet I didn’t get a sense of urgency from LGI and they dragged their feet to the very end.
I worked with Jennifer, the loan officer, Aaron, a salesperson, and Paul, the guy that manages the place. Everybody was great except for Paul, and Merida, my salesperson, was a world of difference compared to him. As far as my water goes, he was going to get out there and do all that but he never did. I also had a flood problem and LGI had to pay for my flood insurance for a year because of him. He's a guy who couldn’t manage his way out of a paper bag and if it would've been for him, I would've walked away from the deal.
The LGI home community is nice, though and the house is fine. I'm having my own pool put in. Overall, it was a good experience but the company needs to evaluate their people more clearly. I feel that after they got my money and they got me in the door, they dropped the ball. I would recommend LGI and I've had one friend go out and talk to them all ready to purchase a home. But I wouldn't beat around the bush as far as their management goes. I've run companies my whole life and I wouldn't put up with it. I also tell my friends not to deal with Paul.

LGI Homes was in the top position and the homes were brand-new. Also, their sales representatives were great and they got me whatever that I need. The process of buying was difficult including making sure everything went through with the markings and that the bank approved me for the loan that I need. But I knew how much I was going to work with initially. Then, I picked the home and went to the bank. The whole process took about thirty days which is not too bad. Also, the home is very new, everything is clean and it was built to my satisfaction. I love the bathroom and the walk-in closet and the garage is huge. The community is also great and it's the way I like it because it's not out of the way. This is worth it and it was an awesome experience.

LGI Homes would wait until the last minute to tell me something that needed to be changed. I'm out of state most of the time so there are times when I had to leave and drive 15 hours to get home just to sign one piece of paper. I'd call and leave messages and I wouldn't hear back from them until it was absolutely needed to be done. Lack of communication was a big deal for me.
There are some things that could be done better as far as the leveling of the foundations, the backyard, and the fence work. They didn't seal the tiles, so we had to redo all the tile and grout work and make sure to put a seal over the grout. But the neighbors here are a lot better. The community is better and the streets are bigger. There's more room for my son to be able to go outside and play. We moved from an area where the streets were so compact and he really couldn't roll down the driveway on his bike, and I have to worry about cars coming. My fiance is happier too.

I have never heard of something brand new having so many issues. When we first moved into the home one of our main requests for the builder to fix was damage to the baseboards in a room adjacent to the upstairs bathroom. We mentioned the request several times and were told that the builder looked at it. This was not fixed until after we moved in and it was like pulling teeth to get that arranged. Fast forward to a week being in the house. We have had major issues with our hot water not working. At this point the plumber says if our heater goes out again it's electrical. An electrical issue in a new house! Hot water is a basic human right. Prisoners get hot water! They can't come out and properly fix their mistakes the first time.
My husband wanted to try the upstairs bathroom to take a shower. He turns on the water and there is no pressure coming from the shower head. He turns it off, but can still hear water running. He runs down stairs and sees water pouring from our living room ceiling, the light fixture, the AC vent. The builder would not answer his phone. We had to track him down in the neighborhood. When my husband finds him he tells us that's a plumbing problem to call them! We called, got them out the next day. It turns out a pipe had frozen. We bought the house in June and just moved in. The water damage to the baseboards I had mentioned was actually water damage from this happening before!!!
How can trained professionals miss such a huge mistake? And if the builder actually looked at the baseboards we complained about how could a trained professional not recognize water damage? They had no sense of urgency to come out and fix the damage. The painter they use lost our second appointment so we had to reschedule after wasting a day waiting for them. This is an ongoing issue for over a month. We can't live in our living room in fear that our belongings may get damaged by the repairs (paint and spackle). This is the most unorganized company I have ever worked with. They don't care about their work. I'm about one cold shower away from picketing outside their sales office in my neighborhood.

I got a prebuilt home from LGI. The representative was very helpful. He explained everything, about the community, about the home down to depending on my credit, how much my house note would be every month, and if I have to pay, how much I would have to pay down. I also love the new home community. It's wonderful and I'm satisfied with the amenities. It's a new home and I never thought I'd be in one. It's nice with a big family. Where I used to live, we couldn't have the dishwasher on while someone was taking a shower at the same time. I have five kids and it's awesome that they could be taking shower, I could be taking a shower, and the dishwasher's on. The experience has been very easy and pain-free. I recommended LGI to everybody.

LGI Homes has a "zero down" program and because of the price and lot size of the home, I purchased my pre-built home a month ago. LGI made my first time buying a new home very comfortable with just paperwork and signing of documents. Also, their sales rep was very informative and nice. The build quality of the home was very well done and impressive, but they have yet to come fix some issues we brought up with the maintenance man during our walk-through. He put in a request for a work order since there were some tough scratches and chips on the cabinets. More so, some of the neighbors in the community are very nice, warm and friendly. I'm very satisfied with the amenities, but the place is much further out from where I work so the commute time affects me.

We bought the house from LGI Homes last 6-22-17. Their business model was our reason to choose them. The house was completed when I purchased it but I'm the first owner. It's a brand new home. The quality is what I paid for, it's great. This new home improved my life 5000%. Before this, I was renting. I'm now a homeowner. It's the American dream to be a homeowner, right? I have no problems with the LGI community I live. I live on a cul-de-sac and it's nice, quiet and private. My neighbors are nice. I'm satisfied with the amenities they offer. I bought an economy model and I got a lot of features for what I paid for. If I would have bought one of the more expensive models, I'd have more features.
The sales representative was amazing and very informative. He answered all of my questions, seems to be in sync with what I was asking. I didn't feel like I was getting the run-around or he was having to make up things to answer. It seemed very factual and he seemed to really know his business. Everyone knows everyone, they communicate. They know each other and work as a team. US Homes could really learn a lesson from them. LGI Homes business model is amazing and that more builders should encompass this particular business model. The fact that I was able to go to one spot and not only view the home that was in my budget, I could also purchase and deal with my realtor right out of that office. I was also able to go back to that same spot and deal with my loan officer and my mortgage broker to deal with my closing and my title company, all in the area.

We were looking for a new home and this one from LGI Homes had a good view in the back off the porch and it was in our price range. Also, the split bedroom was to our advantage. It was already built and the layout of the whole house was good. There was somebody else that had bought the house and for some reason, they backed out. They’ve also added an extra garage. So instead of having a two car garage, it has a three-car garage which was something that we wanted. We had a good walk-through with the sales representative and we talked to the person that was in-charge of the construction. He wrote all the defects down and it was recorded.
But we've been having some problems getting all those things done. The problem is I'm over here in Grand Junction. I've talked to our realtor and he's been trying to find out what's happening. I was talking my son and there was a deep hole on the side of the house that the water would run into. And that was supposed to be filled and the rock put back over the top. The last time he was there, that hadn't happened, but it may be fixed by now. Everything else is okay with the house. Just a few small things like one of the switches weren't working and the deadbolt at the back door to the garage doesn't engage. But there wasn’t anything wrong at all with our buying experience. It’s good.

I made a purchase and closed on the house from LGI Homes a month ago. The other builders in the area were outside of the price range I could afford, so I chose them. Their sales rep Brad was excellent. LGI was in the process of building the house when we came in and we bought it out of their inventory. But it was finished the day or two before we closed on the house.
Purchasing the home was pretty streamlined. LGI was very good at communicating back and forth but it still took about 30 days to get all the necessary paperwork, underwriting, and approvals done. There was one issue where the lender created a closing disclosure but did not match with the contract from LGI was telling me it should have been. I felt that it was intentional rather than an accidental swap. So, at first I was apprehensive. However, after I brought that to LGI’s attention, they came back in less than 48 hours and got it corrected. And then, we moved forward. It wouldn't be technically on LGI, but on the lender that they went through. Other than that, there were no hitches in the process.
I'm very happy with the quality of the house. I love it. The project manager explained everything top to bottom and inside out, from the siding to the insulation in the attic. So, we had a great understanding of what was in our house. Also, the new community we live in is a great neighborhood. It’s quiet, but I'm assuming that'll change as people continue to move in. It’s tucked away and not on a major road. We’d have to make a couple turns to get to the subdivision so there's not a whole bunch of traffic flying by. Also, it's close to a major freeway that takes us all the way into Houston. I’m very satisfied with the amenities offered too.
Living in my new house definitely made life easier. I used to live out by Hobby Airport which was about an hour away from some of the locations I work at. I'm an area manager for a restaurant chain and I'm over four restaurants. Three of my stores are very close to where we are now, whereas only one was close to where I was before. So, this move is saving me an hour and a half a day in driving. Also, it's my house rather than renting. So, there's that ownership factor that's just fantastic for my mindset.

The LGI sales representative made it fairly easy for us to get the new home and explained to us how we could do it for a very low money down which worked out as what we're told. We walked and picked the prebuilt home that we liked on the lot and then they asked for paperwork. I brought the paperwork in and that worked out well. There was nothing extra so within two weeks we were closing. It's a well-built home but I was surprised that simple things like gutters and the attic stairs weren’t included. Other than that, the community is really new and it seems like it's going to be really nice. The commute will be a little longer but the house is awesome.

We've lived in a couple of different home builders before. The other builders didn't pick the best of locations for their homes. For instance, three of the neighborhoods that we went were built close to big transformer power lines. It felt like they were getting cheaper lands to make a higher profit. When we went to LGI we noticed that their homes are comparable to True Homes and they weren't built by big power lines.
I walked in to see the houses right away. But LGI Homes and the people we worked with - John and Candy - took the time and sat me down and told me why they are a good choice. They showed me all there is in the prospect, like the parks and the shops that were opening up. They did try to get to know me and my interests. They saw to it that I will fit in before I even waste my time seeing the houses. We did purchase a home that is already in inventory. The house was from someone whose loan wasn't approved. While it was already built for us, they did talk about building options. We just decided that it wasn't the route we wanted.
So far, the quality of the build seems nice. While we passed the point of customizing our home, what was explained to me was all of their homes were how they were going to be. There will be no changing of cabinets or picking out different countertops because they explained that everything was already the best. We already had the recessed lighting and much as I would like to paint, they made it and seemed like there wasn’t any customizing to do. This was mentioned by a couple of different people who came out to inspect our new place. They say that the installation was really good. The pipes are special and they don't freeze.
The community is really nice. Our neighbors are very welcoming. We have met them all. I like that in our community, the houses aren't right on top of each other. There's also a playground with good quality swing set and a slide. The gazebo looks nice, as well as the picnic tables. We have a spacious and relaxing home and it's going to improve my dear life greatly. It might be too big for two people right now but I expect to settle here and grow a family.

I have been looking for a home builder for two years and one of my students told me that LGI Homes were the better builders. They're easy to work with and they let us browse in the hall and didn't crowd us. Also, they answered any questions we had and if not, they'd find an answer. They allowed us to see what we wanted and what we're looking for, which is easier to shop than having somebody all on our back. I already had a pre-approval for my loan. Their rep, Rich, went ahead and did my credit check to get it to work and he told me that it may not be a problem. I already knew that you could estimate 10%, but I wanted to see what they were talking about, so I asked him how much the mortgage are on and he gave me an idea of the worst and the best scenarios.
He then gave me a list of what I needed to bring to the loan officer. He set up the appointment and I showed up the day I was told, but the loan officer told me that she had the next day but I thought of that day. But it was no big deal because Dan greeted me and he accommodated me because there was a confusion. I already had all the papers and he faxed everything to her and figured out with the list and checked it all. If you have everything in order you just follow that list they give you and you wouldn't have any problem because my loan went through about June 14th and I closed on June 28th.
When I closed they gave me a list of everything I needed to do to get the utility turned on. They also gave me the address, the fax numbers, and the application if I want to do it online and I just followed all of that. And when I moved in, they checked back with me to see if I was okay and everything was coming okay. We had an unfortunate plumbing incident where all the water backed up in the bottom of the floor and water came out the shower, out the tub, out the toilet. It was a mess. The plumbing people came out at 3:00 in the morning and they found a brick in the sewer line. The guy explained to me that when our house fit and nobody is using the plumbing, debris can get in there. They didn't bring me paper towels and stuff that I lost in the flood, but they accommodated and checked back with me.
They said the house had updated water closet fixtures, but I would've had that $25,000 leverage if I had avoided that to be built. But I love the home. I could see myself in there when I walked in. However, I wish I had a chance to get some part of it because I'm a 64-year-old disabled veteran and I can't step on my back porch because it's 29 inches and I can't jump up there with bad knees from the military. But the construction supervisor, Cee, told me that by law, they do not put a step if it's not 36 inches. Other than that, the quality is awesome because I looked at Castlerock, Ashton Woods, D.R. Horton, Gen and a lot of them focus on luxury and things that you may want but may cut quality. Everything that you see in their models are upgrades, but when you sit down with them you're really getting a naked house. But LGI gives quality and luxury, so I settled with them because of I got the combination of both. Also, the community is nice and quiet. My family came here and they like using the pool.
LGI Homes is really awesome. They didn't run their mouth too much and trying to put you in the house without you wanting to be in the house. Some people try to put you in the house and you don't want to be in the house. They don't stop with you buying the house. They make sure you're comfortable. My daughter wants to leave Virginia and sell her house and get a house with LGI and she likes the guys in there too. Also, I've already referred two friends to LGI Homes and they have even said the same thing about their customer service. They said that the guys were really friendly and made them feel at ease.

LGI Homes' interest rates were really good and the pricing of the homes were unbeatable for those that were available. The amenities inside the house was also one of the reasons why I decided to go with them. I didn’t have to purchase furniture and things, which could have been thousands of dollars extra. I bought a fixed but a new home built by LGI. It was in the process of being built when I first went to LGI looking for a home. They then built it for me. I love the product. However, the master bedroom bath is not big at all. It’s the same size as a regular bathroom that’s in the hallway. I can barely sit in it and I'm only 5'4". I guess it depends on what structure of home that you just have, but in the other places that I've gone to, the master bathroom is always bigger than the normal bathroom.
It's also a neighborhood wherein there isn't a home that looks beat up, which I didn't know about until after the purchase. Also, the people that they have been approving so far were pretty good, like old couples. Their reps have also been great. They have been very nice and helpful and were always available whenever I had questions. They’ve been like an ATM at night that will always respond. Living here is better than where I was living before. I feel safer when I moved into the community. However, it still all depends on who LGI approves, which depends on the loan company and who they'll approve. Hopefully they don’t approve any bad eggs that come to the community.

When we walked in, the sales staff was very cordial and very willing to show us around. However, we found out that they had zero closing costs so we had our reservations because if that was the case, then anybody can buy here. But then, the staff convinced us otherwise and it seemed to be turn-key. The builder owns the land then builds and sells property.
We had very good interactions that with our salesperson, even the interactions we’re still having today. He’s very receptive and very willing to help. We purchased a pre-built new home two months ago and now once we leave work, it’s, “We’re heading home!” It’s peaceful and it’s a good feeling. Having our new home has decreased the stress quite a bit and it has affected our life immensely.
So far, the construction and the overall build seems to be quite satisfactory. They also have the sidewalks, which you can run on and you can walk the dog. They have the fountain up front and it’s very nice and pleasing to the eye. They also have a park with restrooms and a little hill where you can run up and down. Those are great but there are not very many amenities. It didn’t keep us from buying there but it would have been nice to have a community pool and/or community gym.
However, they also put a basketball court in every cul-de-sac and there's a group of people who gather to play basketball in the weekends and they get loud. That’s something we don’t like at all. It would be a perfect experience if it wasn’t for them and they’re not even children. For my sister, who happens to be a single woman with a young daughter, you don’t get the safety feeling. And other than the normal process takes a couple of weeks and then a week for closing to happen, everything was great and very easy. They told us everything and assisted us with everything we needed and we provided everything that they needed.
I love our new community. I wish it was a little closer to work. It added about a 20-minute drive to what I normally would do. But everything has been positive. We've been there almost a month and everybody has been welcoming and very nice to us. The community looks great and it is very clean and has easy access to get on to the freeway. There's plenty of stuff to do around and we really enjoy it. Also, the kids are happy. They love that they have their own rooms now. They have a lot more space and a big yard to play in. They got other kids around that they could interact with. It looks like a much healthier and safer environment.
I told everybody about LGI. The other day, LGI posted something on their Facebook page, and people were kind of skeptical about the whole zero down. And I commented, "Oh no, this is real. LGI has all their building materials plus the package including the appliance. They also showed us the model home with the same floor plan that we are purchasing so we saw the exact thing. I went up there over Memorial weekend. And that's when we did all the transaction. I saw the foundation was already up and we were interested so they built it so that we could get it to move for August because I’m military and leaving next month. I'm still in California but I closed it on July 3rd.

We are interacting since May and we used to speak every day or every other day through emails, just to get everything done, so that my family and I could move up next month. Then throughout every other day or week, I would get pictures of the progress. With the appraisal, they showed me the up-to-date pictures and everything that was going on in real time. We were ready for a home and we thought we were going have to wait a couple of more years. It so happens that the first house we picked was the right one. We got lucky. Sharla was very helpful every step of the way. It's our first time buying a home so there's a lot of stuff that we didn't know and had no experience with. But she made the whole process a lot easier. She went above and beyond to help us out. With buying a home, there's always paperwork and hiccup that could come up or random stuff. She took care of it and messaged us very quickly. She made it really simple.
The house was prebuilt. LGI had just painted and put the appliances when we closed on it. We decided to buy early June and then all the paperwork. We made our closing later that month. We've only been in our house a couple of weeks. The quality of the house is great. As far as any scratches and dents, little touch-ups that we needed to take care of before we actually moved in, we went through the whole walkthrough and marked it up. LGI took care every one of them and cleaned a couple other things we didn't catch.
Living in our new home makes a big difference. I feel a lot more accomplished. I've been working for a long time, and after getting married, buying a home feels like that next step. We couldn't be happier. We're starting to get things up in the house with the curtains and hanging stuff up. It feels more like a home little by little. It's the house that tells us all that. Just having a new home is really nice so we're very happy customers. I also like how the neighborhood is set-up. We've been able to wave at a few neighbors. We are now just starting a family and our neighborhood is nice. Everyone seems friendly. I'm enjoying everything so far and it's been a good experience.

It’s been about a month since I purchased a prebuilt new home from LGI and their sales representative was great, kind and sensible. I had closed the house on a Friday and LGI still had my key because the door wouldn’t lock with the key that I had. Then the house was burglarized on a Tuesday before I moved in and LGI was not very helpful with it at all. The noble thing would have been that LGI helped since they still had the key in their possession and security could have been better considering the area. That was terrible and not cool. Also, I'm not very satisfied with the amenities and there’s only a small park. The community is also bare so more trees could be put around to make it look and feel a little more green and homey.

LGI Homes' sales rep, Amber, deserves a raise. She's very friendly and positive, and we thought she was really awesome. The only problem we had was with the guy doing the lending aspect. He's a very poor communicator and even though he and I exchanged a lot of phone calls and emails, he didn't communicate very well on a personal level and was a catastrophe. But the supervisor was aware that I was having trouble with him.
We had already done some research on the houses that LGI had, so the primary thing was the location. Then we found that their houses were priced differently than the other builders in that there was more space. We're in the midst of painting now and we're really happy with the square footage. Also, it was a blank palette situation where there were things that were not necessarily poor quality, but lower quality, like the dishwasher, the stove, and the refrigerator, which we were going to replace right away. And though we like the fact that all the rooms were wired, it wouldn't be a huge loss to take out the light fixtures because they weren't on the upper end. There was money saved on things that we thought we would change out anyway so the cost was brought down by that.
The LGI Homes community is good but I'm a little disappointed about the pool. We've been in here for almost a month and we haven't seen the pool go in and they're not showing any signs of putting one, even though we were told it would be within two months and it hasn't been. Evidently, there's another developer that is developing that portion of it. But other than that, so far, LGI Homes did their part. We moved from Colorado where we were living in a hotel and it was horrible. We were four people in one room, and although it had a refrigerator, it was too small for four people and it was hard. But now, everything's improved.

We just migrated here in the US and we didn’t know which home builder was good and which wasn't. When I saw LGI's flyer in our mailbox, I thought of trying them. And then I saw it was zero down. I hopped from one LGI branch to another. The first place that I went to was Sterling Lakes in Pearland. They took my number because we were very new then and I didn’t have credit history. But they never called me back. The sales reps were very nice to me though. When I went into their office, they assisted me even if I was just inquiring. They told me I didn't have a FICO score yet and to come back in two months’ time. I went back and was told to come back the next month as I may have a FICO score then. So I went back and still was asked to try the next month. But they were helping me a lot and were knowledgeable. They were the ones who did everything and I was just waiting.
I already have the house and I'm thankful that I have it, but it's not my taste. The material is not that very durable. The door is not aligned properly which is my main concern. If I push in and out, there’s an annoying sound and it’s got resistance. Also, there are still unpainted areas and there are scratches on the paint. I already called the builder, but until now, they never called me. There are a lot of insects, too, like small scorpions crawling on the floor. Also, the park where there's a baby slide is swampy. The wooden chips they put on the ground don’t absorb much unlike some playground where they use rubber. Nevertheless, the experience with LGI was fine overall.

My wife and I met with the sales rep, Dee, and told her our price range. She showed us a couple of different houses and we told her which one we wanted then we started the paperwork process on the same day. Dee was friendly, loud, and understood that we were first time home buyers so she answered every single question we had. She even answered her phone on the weekends for us and she was there throughout the whole process, which made it an easy transition as well as made our buying experience a lot better. We went with LGI for the price and customer service and we closed on our prebuilt house on the 23rd of June.
We're all moved in but we’re going back and forth with the contractor right now. There are some quality issues not resolved even a month after we purchased the house. The siding on the side of the house was chipped, whoever mowed the yard actually damaged the air conditioning and I haven’t had a garbage disposal over a month. It’s been a little bit of an inconvenience trying to get somebody out to rectify the issues. LGI should get to work with the contractor a little more to get stuff done. Besides the issues, everything about the house has been great and it works perfectly for us. It’s 10 minutes away from our work so it’s really convenient for me. Also, it’s very quiet where we live and everybody’s nice, so overall it’s been a great community. On the customer service side, everybody at LGI has been great and responsive. It's a really great process and I would recommend LGI to anybody who’s looking to either buy a home or build their first home.

I like the location of the house and it's well-built. I was happy with the colors that they picked. It was close to being finished when I toured the home so I was able to move in within two weeks. I was one of the first ones in a cul-de-sac and didn’t have any neighbors when I first moved in. The neighbors have moved in now and I really like the community. I’m also very satisfied with the amenities that are available. I'm very happy.

LGI Homes was the one available at that time and when we got there, we were treated good. They helped us out on everything with the house. We started with them in November and we signed at the end of December. Freddie helped us out and was available all the time for us. He answered any questions we had. We came to the office, we talked to them, and they showed us all the houses they have. After that, they qualified us and we went through the financing department. We got a proof of the house and we signed all the paperwork. It was quick and no hassle. Everything was simple and they guided us through the whole process, from looking at the house to buying and now they still call us to see how we're doing and how the house is.
Our two level house is nice. It has some stuff that needs to be addressed. The floor is one of the things that I'm a little concerned since I can hear all the floors as I walk through the house. But the rest of it is good. The houses look beautiful and everything has been taken care of so far. I came from renting an apartment and the house makes my life better. I'll recommend LGI Homes.

The sales reps at LGI Homes were amazing. They were extremely helpful and always called me right back. It was the most pleasant buying experience I’ve ever had. I also liked the price and the lady who did all my finance works was a wizard. She was so good. The house was about 80% finished when I purchased it and we would have liked to customize some other things. They weren’t finished on the house yet at that time and I asked if they would allow it even if I add it on to the loan. They said, “No. we’re not doing that anymore ‘cause they were assembled.” That was the only thing that I was upset at. Other than that, I really like the community. The neighborhood is pretty cool. There’s a nice community room with a very nice large pool. I'm much more relaxed living in my new home. It’s wonderful and everything’s great. I had recommended LGI Homes to a lot of my friends.

Our home was built through LGI. They’re doing a subdivision and we had no control over anything that went in the home. We figured they'd at least have choices like two paint colors or two colors of flooring, but it is what it is. They had four different home styles that one can come in and purchase. They were building on 83 lots in this part in addition to the subdivision. Ours was already framed up when we purchased then we had to wait for them to finish building it.
We're still trying to deal with Thomas, the construction manager on a few issues. We have the laminate flooring that is coming up already. We also have a few doors that were installed that were broken and haven't been fixed yet. And where the driveway connects to the garage was a very shoddy job. It's got crumbling concrete that they're supposed to fix. It's been over six months already and they put in work orders for it, but we haven't heard from them yet. It didn’t seem like they took as much care coming into some of it as it's a spec house.
We also wish there were options for a few things. This is the first house we've ever been into that there were no fans or an option to have fans added in the rooms. Then the garage door came with no motor on it and we had to pay extra $500 after we moved in to get that put in. Then nowadays, the way electronics were, cable only ran to the living room on one wall and the master bedroom, not the other bedrooms. We also had to pay extra to have that done.
The salespeople tried to help out and do some stuff, although a little slow to respond to questions at times. It's just that at this point, it seemed like we don't know what else to do to get these things fixed. But the community that we live in is great as far as neighbors and everything we've met and talked to. Also, our location is pretty central to everything that we needed to get to. Overall, it's a good experience.

I recently closed on a house made by LGI in the Lakeland community of villages at Bridge Water. The sales pitch was great and they spoke about INTEGRITY during the sales pitch. We closed on the home June 30 with the promises that some things will be fixed very soon (big mistake on my part). It's almost 2 weeks and the service is lacking. No mailbox, the promise of blinds which took more than 1 week (should have been there from day 1). MISSING windows still in master bedroom and remedy of the landscaping all not done. I have called, texted and visited in person and each time they promised and the service is either slow to come or not at all. I have been trying to be patient by this is getting really bad. Shame on you LGI. In my book your INTEGRITY TOOK A NOSE DIVE.

LGI Homes is very good and living in our new home has given me the feeling of more responsibility. Ours is about a year now. I found them when I was googling some stuff, and was awed by the way they build houses. They built our house for us and I was the one who made choices on it. They did everything and the construction was nice and perfect. The home community is also nice and the people in it are very kind. LGI is still building homes around, but once it ends, everything will be perfect. The customer service is also okay. Every time's something's up, they assist us. They do have some shortcomings, but it's okay. We had a leak downstairs two weeks ago and they fixed it.

Also, the LGI home community that I live in is pretty good. They have a pool and a clubhouse, as well.

Tyler was our sales rep from LGI Homes and we really liked him. We had a girl rep before but she took another job somewhere else so, they switched us over to Tyler. But we didn’t have as much information about the fact that they switched us over to this other representative. I wish they told us and maybe more communication on that would’ve been helpful. This is our first house so we really wanted to have a lot of communication with our representative. Tyler definitely did that but it was a little weird situation in the beginning with the fact that they switched. But he was really good and helpful and I like that about him.
Buying it was really easy which is part of why we like LGI. It was hard to buy a house these days especially a pre-existing house because the market is really crazy. But we didn’t have to worry about our bid falling through and a lot of these things were already picked out. They built the home for us. They had different floor plans and we picked the one we wanted. The lot we picked had a specific floor plan and it took a few months to build it. It was all new stuff, too, so we didn’t have to or feel like we had to do a whole bunch of renovation. Also, when we moved in, we had our four-month-old so I didn’t need a lot of extra stress with having to move out carpets or do this or that. But they made the process simple and we had the time.
Also, they don't do the fancy different types of custom things to keep the price down. Everybody gets the same things and that’s a good option to go. That’s what we needed and to not have to worry about it was helpful. But they did the appliances and the granite countertop which was a nice perk because when we had viewed the house that they had built in another section, they were granite but they were fake. They upgraded that to a real one which was nice for the new section houses.
We like it and the community is nice. There were some other pre-existing homes but we’re in a brand new section so all the houses around us are brand new and everybody’s new to the neighborhood. This section we live in is not the fanciest part of Charlotte but it’s definitely doable and it was in our price range and in the kind of the location we wanted. Also, I have a pool so, it was great. We worked with the manager a little bit and if she and Tyler are ever passing us in the neighborhood when we’re walking, they wave and say hi. I appreciate that they still care about us and that we did business with them.
There were a few things that we had to get back to them or reach out to them for like putting in work orders to have them come out and fix some things. But it is understandable in some ways and I’m definitely pleased with it. I should get in to it when I need a bigger house but for now, it’s what we need and it’s a good size. It’s definitely much better than the apartment we were in. There’s more space that is helpful with a growing family. Also, there’s definitely been a lot less stress and frustration over the small space in an apartment. It makes cooking and organizing easier and that’s been helpful for me. It’s a convenient and easy process and they met our expectation.

We purchased a pre-built home from LGI. The quality of the build was not good. We couldn't live in the home through the winter because there was no heat. LGI kept sending the same company out to fix it. Because the guy from that company could not fix it, I told LGI to send someone with experience. Finally, LGI sent a man out who fixed it the first time. Still, it was a big mess. Also, it is hard to get in touch with someone from LGI.
Additionally, the electrical sockets in our upstairs bathroom went out. And so, we had to get LGI to come and get that serviced as well. When LGI came to fix the sockets, their guy laid hot equipment on the countertop and now it's messed up. We are also waiting for them to come and paint that bathroom. Furthermore, we had no manuals on any of the appliances. We were also told that something is wrong with our outside faucet and that we shouldn't use it as it might kill all our plants. If we can't use it, why would LGI make it available in our home? Overall, we aren't happy right now.

Buying and building the home was stressful. We started the process a year ago. LGI Homes came up with some options and we chose them because of the price that they had. The house was supposed to be done by December 6. We confirmed that everything’s good a couple of weeks before that so we could turn in our six-day notice to our apartment. Once we did that, we got a call three weeks later that we were delayed by two weeks. And then, once that two weeks came, they almost cancelled the loan on us because of income and other things. Luckily, we’re able to sniggle it and make it work. After much delay, we ended up getting the house, but we almost lost it. However, because of the delay, we had to hire movers. LGI was supposed to pay for our move, but they only paid $200 out of our $800 moving bill. We had to park it around the apartment and I couldn’t get it done by myself. So, the whole thing was frustrating.
The home wasn’t built when we picked out the lot but it’s not custom and they built according to their plan. Quality-wise, it’s good. No cracks on the walls nor creaks. Everything’s been satisfactory except that they left us without a back-screen door and I can’t get a hold of Nathan, the sales manager. I can’t get into the warranty program online to make a claim nor get calls back to make this happen. And I’m running out of time to get that claim made.
It was disappointing that once we got done with the sale, we couldn’t get the sales matters on. The sales representative we worked with was great. He was good about calling us back the entire time. I can still get a hold of him, and he even calls me back, but he doesn’t work with LGI Homes anymore. So, that’s not going to do much good. But our new home community is quiet, nice and I’m satisfied with the amenities. I like running the house. There’s a lot of work for the backyard but overall, it’s an improvement over the apartment life.

The only issue we’ve had was that the AC froze on us about a week ago. The builder and everybody had people come out real fast and it’s not like it was down for a week. But now, I can’t put that up around the house because it’s not authorized by the homeowners association. It should've been something that was told before. I wasn’t really sure I was going to be able to get a house, especially a new one, but I felt confident that I could after speaking with Derek in LGI Homes in Thornton. I estimated what my credit score was and he got me into one of the ones in Thornton, which was really out of my budget. But I did find one in Lochbuie that was in my budget. We did our deal with Dawn then and it worked out pretty good. Both of them were really good. Derek made me feel confident after talking to him and Dawn held my hand through the whole thing and kept telling me everything was going to work. I didn’t expect for it to work out but it did. I listened to her and we walked through it. It was a good experience.
What had happened was it must not have worked out for someone else when they were buying it. I went up to Lochbuie and they were sold out. But they called me the next week and they said they had two houses opened up. One was the one my wife picked out and one was the one I picked out. We ended up getting the one that I picked out, which was on the perimeter of the site. It faces a farmland and we don’t have anybody behind us, so it's nice. Usually, it's what the wife wants but it was mostly because the backyard was too small and we have dogs.
We put our thousand dollars November 28th and signed everything and did the deal on December 30th so, it was pretty fast. The quality is really good. I'm a carpenter by trade and when I went to go hang my TV up, I noticed that the studs were 24-inch on center instead of 16. They were using two by sixes because it was a two-storey house. When you use the two by sixes, you can go back to the every 24 inches.
Also, the community is a nice feel. When I first started looking, one of the things that I wasn’t going to do was get into a homeowners’ association but here I am. So I'm going to get involved with the homeowners’ association and get into the community. There are parks and it's nice. It's crazy because my stepson and his girlfriend moved in with us. They're getting ready to have a baby and there are three other pregnant ladies on our block. It's a baby neighborhood now. My wife and I didn’t know that her son was going to be coming to stay with us. We've got grandchildren, so we're not thinking about having any more kids. That’s for sure. But now, we have one coming.
The new home is a vast improvement not just on my quality of life, but the happiness. It still seems surreal almost after six months. It's like, “Is it really true this is my house?” Like when I pay my payments, I'm happy to pay them and not thinking my mortgage is due. It feels good to be able to pay and I'm not having to struggle. It's been a real blessing and a great journey.

Other than that, they’ve addressed every other problem.
The community we live in is a lot better. Through interactions with other neighbors, we know we're going to be here for a while. I've already talked to four of them, and they all seemed very nice and helped out a lot. They're not too close together and the yards are pretty big. We also feel good about the quality of the prebuilt home that we got and we're satisfied with the amenities that LGI offered. Overall, it was an easy, painless and great experience.

My experience with LGI Homes started off very positive and I was excited that I might finally have a home that I could truly call my own. My family and I went out on a Saturday afternoon and met with Will, my daughter was excited and having a hard time containing herself. Will was awesome dealing with her and keeping her busy so that we could get the matters at hand. I filled out the paperwork, ran my credit report and found that I just needed some kind of open credit. He told me to get a credit card (he even gave me info about where to get an easy card), told me to call him once I was approved for the card and he would rerun my credit 10 after the approval.
Needless to say I did get the card and it's now been 3 weeks since I got approved for the card I have not heard anything from Will. I have contacted his office several times and have had no response from Will. I am beginning to wonder if this is truly a legit program or just a sick game, my dreams of finally giving my children a home of their own seems to have been brought to a near reality and shattered. I'm truly disappointed with how this has turned out.

We have purchased a pre-built house from LGI Homes last February. I chose LGI because of convenience and price. The buying process was very easy, we had no problems and everything went through according to time. The LGI Homes sales rep was professional, knowledgeable and able to answer any questions that I had. The house is very good and it's not far from anything. Everything is readily available from shopping, schools, and other amenities. Not that it's supposed to be taken care of, but I would like to say that I didn't have enough outlets in the bathroom. I only have one in there and that's definitely not enough.

Our realtor referred us to LGI Homes. He had a list of homes builders that he wouldn’t allow us to go look at and a list that he considered appropriate. We liked the look of the homes and its features. All the products were mid to high end. They were nice homes and looked like good builds. We closed on the house December 31st but the whole process started October of last year. I would definitely recommend working with LGI, but I wouldn’t recommend working with the sales associate that we worked with. It was the worst part of the entire process. He was a very unprofessional person. There was a lot of pressure. I didn’t feel like he had our back at the end of the day. So, it was a rough transaction to go through especially near the end. It started off positive but to this day, I don’t speak with them and I avoid him when he's at that office if I have to go there. And his manager wasn’t a whole lot better, but that’s okay. We got through it.
We picked a lot that we were interested in and got to look at it that same day which was really nice. The house was already in the process of being built and the foundation was in place but they worked with us. Once we got closer to the closing date which ended up getting pushed two or three times is when it got pretty nasty and there were several occasions when I requested things and it didn’t happen. No one from LGI really understood what accountability was and where their role started and ended. So, it was very frustrating. And then near our closing date, the house wasn’t finished yet and I was super uncomfortable signing. I didn’t feel comfortable like the promise in October that it would be 100% move-in ready the day we were closing and that’s just wasn’t the case. There was a huge delay. They definitely pressured us into signing that day, but we got it all done.
Quality-wise, it's amazing. We had conversations with the operations manager on site and he ended that sell. He made us feel comfortable at the end with the things that were going on. They came back after we closed and fixed some things that were outstanding and I really appreciated that. The house itself has been great but there was no customization. We didn’t ask for anything that wasn’t already going to be part of the home. No one talked about it being an option. I've heard some complaints from neighbors, but we have no major issues. Overall, it's very sturdy and in good condition and it's exciting. Also, I watched the construction team building the rest of the houses. They work really hard and they're the nicest people I've met.
There are a lot of complainers out there but it’s been a nice community so far. It was two months before we got a neighbor and our next-door neighbors have all been really great. Everyone has been very respectful and we've already introduced ourselves and had some drinks. So, it's been good. However, I was looking at how to get contact information with someone that could provide pet bathroom bags. We need it. There are a lot of people walking their dogs around and I haven’t had too many issues, but I've seen some complaints with people not picking up after their dogs. We probably need waste bins specifically for those. Nevertheless, our new home is so much nicer than where we were before. It's great to be there and it’s a good area overall.

LGI Homes sales representatives were helpful and showed us what we were looking for. In less than 30 days I was able to close the process of buying the house. We love it down there but I'd be more satisfied if they haven't closed the golf course. I've called to check if I can get financing for it but it's a lot of money. The home community is nice and the build quality was pretty good but they should have finished up the patio. They put so much molds it was ridiculous. When repairs are needed to be done, the only way you can contact them is over the internet. They send somebody out but it's a matter of getting them to do something.

My brother has got a home from LGI and he had told me about them. I made my purchase in April of this year and everybody at LGI was very helpful, informative, and treated us very kindly. I didn’t have any worries because they answered my questions about anything. Most of the time when we went with a question, they were always friendly and cooperative. I'm very thankful for them because they helped my experience in buying a home for the first time to be very pleasant and easy.
We were happy to be in the first group of LGI homes that were being sold in the area. They made it very fun when we went to pick out the home. There was a team of LGI workers who came and helped us fill out the application and different things. Then we all drove over to the home and when they pointed to us the home, we got out of the car, ran and got the sale sign, and put it on what would be our home that we’d be purchasing. That day we got to go and look inside the home because we had already seen the floor plan before we went over there, but we hadn’t really got to go inside.
We're very pleased with the quality of the home so far and the amenities offered in the community are very good. I have two kids who still live with me and are working and they're closer to their jobs so they enjoy that. The home is closer to where we go to work and where we go to church and also close to a school area where my grandkids go to. We don’t have that many people in the community yet, but they are coming. We’re seeing different people moving in. It's exciting to see that. There are also different people coming to look at the houses and ask us how we like living over in the area. Also, I'm still trying to get some of my friends to buy into it.

We closed on our pre-built LGI home about two months ago and the sales reps were awesome and helpful. They made the whole process clear, easy and understandable. With an LGI home, you don’t make any customizations. They build and all the add-ons that you would add then with another builder. It’s high quality and we’re happy with it, including the location. It’s an awesome house. Plus, we're completely satisfied with the amenities and the community that we live in has been good to us so far. And we used to live in an older house that we were renting, and now we’re paying the same in rent that we are paying for a brand-new house that we own and we’re also making equity on it, so we’re really happy that we made the decision to buy.

When we moved, there were some issues with the floor and the walls, but LGI is already in the process of fixing them.

We liked the look of the houses at LGI Homes, the convenience as it’s close to the shopping areas, and the community that it's in. It's quiet and peaceful. It’s a low crime area and people aren’t outside. So, that’s also beneficial. The salesperson was very nice and helpful. We looked at the models and purchased a pre-built home with the model that we liked. The financing was also a smooth process.
I’m very happy with most of the quality but there were a few things that LGI Homes did not do a good job with. There were a few areas where paint seemed to be missing. They overlooked areas that didn’t get painted well. The guest shower doesn’t have the hot and cold indicators in the proper location. They’re swapped. It would also be great if they could put a community in, but nevertheless, I’m satisfied with the amenities and I like the parks. Though we just moved in, it’s a good life here. It’s a beautiful place.

When we had some mail come through and I had questions, I texted the person that we were in correspondence with at LGI on our own device even after the close dates, and she was warm and happy to help us out. The quality of the job done was pretty good. If we have any issues, we can put in a work order and they’ll come out and fix it. We’ve had minor issues like the shower doors and we put a work order in and someone was out really quick to fix the problem. We are in a brand new subdivision and the kids love the parks. I love the grass. We're pretty close to two different little play area parts for them. If any of my friends would want to come out here, I'd definitely recommend LGI. I went to Florida and we were looking for homes. LGI were still building on the area. It was big. What I liked about it was the openness of the place that they built. The houses were not so accumulated, one on top of each other. You have areas where you get that wind coming through and you feel the elbow room. That’s one of the reasons I bought it. I also liked the house and the way it was built so I bought it. LGI's sales rep was very courteous. He helped us a lot in all the questions. I felt right at home with him so I was very glad. I didn’t find the buying process difficult. It was the first one through Veterans but it was not the first experience buying a house. Being in the state was totally different than buying a house elsewhere. Everything was organized and in place. If you got your paperwork, then everything will be smooth sailing. I had all my paperwork and I had everything done.
I’m very satisfied on the LGI Home community. It’s an excellent area. I like Lakeland. It’s away from the big cities. I was a retired air force and I was stationed at Orlando when Disney wasn’t there, when Orlando was a small, little town like Lakeland. Lakeland is a little bigger now but Orlando was very small. When I went back to Orlando, I said, “Oh, my God. I can’t live here, this place is too hectic.” So, that’s why I chose Lakeland. Anytime I want to go to Orlando, it's just a 40-minute drive and to go to Tampa is about the same. I'm right in the center of both so it's perfect. Plus, everything that I need is right there in Lakeland also. I don’t have to go too far out of my way to get anything that I need. My children are already big so I don’t have to worry too much about the schools. The experience has been fantastic. I'm satisfied with LGI.

I know a lot of customers asking for it and we were willing to pay more but that wasn't in the floor plan that they had before. So far everything is good and we haven't had any bad experience.
After a week that we've been there, we spoke with Amy, a salesperson from LGI Homes. She was great. And the manager was Omari. They take care of you. They were there from beginning to end and made sure that we were okay. We weren’t stressed out about anything. Whatever's going on, they call us and let us know and they say, "Don't stress out. We will take care of everything." Ever since then we've been trying to refer as much people as we can to them because of the quality of the homes and the customer service. There were some things that I would've liked to have gotten done like countertops, flooring and carpeting but for some reason, we couldn't make any changes. It would've saved a lot of heartaches, headache and trouble. Also, for some reason, LGI doesn't do any of their houses with sod in the backyard, which I don't understand. I like everything about the house a lot. My kids like the house and the community, which is real calm. Also, the pool is right across my house, so it's a very good location. Everything is better. We were curious to see how the LGI Homes neighborhood is. We drove by and liked the way it looks. We were thinking about buying the house and my parents saw the zero down and they wanted to see if it will work within their credit on it. When we went in and talked about it with the reps, they looked at my dad's credit and it was good for them. So they tried to assume what they can do for us. The reps were friendly, patient and knowledgeable. They explained every detail of the house perfectly clear. It was a good experience.
The house that we purchased was prebuilt but it was still in the making and being finished. By the time we signed all the paperwork and closed the good deal in April, it was already done. It looked amazing from the inside, as well as the outside. Everything, the whole quality of the house, looked perfect and was in working order.
I'm satisfied with the amenities. There's a small park and I just walk, turn up to the corner and it's right there. Where my house is angled, it has a good view of the outside world. The houses aren't just crammed on top of each other. There's two other houses on the side. In the front, I get a good view of the whole street and then at the back, I get a whole view of the fieldwork. It looks amazing from being in a community. It's not like I have any complaint, but it looks perfect. It's as if I'm still in the same house that my parents and I used to be in. There's some stuff that’s different, but at the same time, it's the same thing. I would recommend LGI Homes to a friend.

The house that I bought from LGI Homes was under construction when I looked at it and put an offering to buy it under a month ago. I liked the convenience of the way they handle things and their location in a residential area. Their rep was good too. They took me through the whole thing with the financing for the FHA and they made it easy for me.
However, there were a lot of issues where they could do much better. Their drywall and their paint is something to be desired. I don't know if the carpenters they used understand what levels and squares are for, but just about every window and door we found is way out of square which made it very difficult to put blinds in. We wanted shutters but that wasn’t realistic with some of these openings. Also, the slab underneath cracked about 5 ½-foot length off the tile in my master bath. They came out and fixed it but the guy that they sent out treated it as a construction site and not as an occupied dwelling. He took angle grinder to my floor and started cutting tile and grout. We're still cleaning off everything today and that was a week ago.
They could also add some more cable jacks. It's a four-bedroom house and they only provide two cable lines, one in the master bedroom and one in the living room. There's nothing in the family room, the dining room and the other bedrooms which I find odd in today’s day. I asked if we could pay extra to have it added, but they don’t offer that. Nevertheless, we're enjoying it so far. Even though we have a couple of issues, I'm still not completely discouraged with them and we're getting them worked on it a little at a time. From start to the finish, they were very helpful as far as taking care of the financing and they paid our closing cost. They were there for us for everything that we needed and answered all our questions so I would still recommend them.

From the moment that I stepped into the LGI building, I got a smile and a warm handshake. There was no pressure. The rep was attentive to what I wanted in a home and from start to finish, she was always there and always accessible even to the point of when I changed my mind. I stopped the process at one point in time and I had to revamp some things. But the second time around, I showed up and it was the same attitude. I closed on my home April 28th of this year and the process was thorough. The rep walked me through the process every step of the way even when I had to engage with the inspector, the lender and the different people that I was engaged in. She always was the preliminary person to that meeting and it was easy peasy. She listened to me as far as how much I wanted to pay overall and monthly for the home. This is my first home so she had set the standard.
I got a prebuilt home and I love it. I'm enjoying the energy efficiency portion of it. It is a one-story house and they went above and beyond with the amenities that are included. I feel as though it's solid and I haven't had to call them for anything. The community is quiet and I'm not in a cul-de-sac. I've had cordial conversations with my neighbors and one of them had a birthday party and we were invited. I hope LGI Homes keeps doing what they're doing and never compromise customer service and support. It was not hard for them to go above and beyond their level of standard customer service. I did my research before I chose to go with them and I can see why they're one of the top builders in Texas and in other states.

I was looking for a house in Rosenberg then LGI popped up in Google. Brad ** in sales master was very nice and helpful and I closed on my house on April 28. The build was pretty good but LGI makes a very basic house and didn’t give any kind of incentive like a garage door opener. They don’t have to install the shower rods as well. It’s not a big deal if you do a $200,000 business and install a $200 garage door opener and a $15 shower rod. There’s a builder named Long Lake near LGI Homes which is giving a lot of incentives like a garage door and even the appliances and the washer and dryer but the problem was I already closed on my house when I saw its sign.

I wasn't going to buy a house until I got rooted in but it seemed to have worked out fine and the process was easy. The way they had the house set up and built were pretty standard. However, I would love to see more upscale people in my neighborhood. It's becoming a neighborhood for a lower end income and I'm looking for one that's otherwise. Maybe because I'm a little picky. I was planning on just paying the house off in two, three years and probably sell it down the road when I feel like it's the right time. Nevertheless, LGI people are wonderful to work and deal with. it's been three weeks since we closed our pre-built house from LGI. It's a good investment and so far, the quality of the house is good. I got what I paid for. In addition, the people in the community are pretty nice.

We bought an LGI home after it got finished and moved in a few weeks ago. We were attracted to the home’s location and how the houses were laid out. There’s a little bit of space between the houses and a bigger backyard than most places in the city. The 2400 square foot home is as basic as a new home can be, but it’s well-laid-out. It has four bedrooms and open space features between the kitchen and TV room. It also has a room for our formal dining room set, and this was important to us over the other layouts.
As far as the community goes, we have some great neighbors and it looks like somebody’s persistent on making sure that the general rules are being followed as far as upkeep on the homes is concerned. The clubhouse, workout room and pool appears to be in really good shape and well-kept. My family visited and they were impressed with how well the neighborhood looks. Our subdivision is the second or third phase of the neighborhood and you can tell where the neighborhood starts and where the old one starts. The difference between people’s front yards and how well the properties are taken care of is immediately noticeable.
LGI Homes is a great group to work with. The superintendent, Shannon, has been absolutely fantastic. He has been outstanding, very supportive and a very good communicator. We're very happy with the home so far. However, the way they dealt with my disclosure on working with a realtor and not being able to compensate her for working hard for us was upsetting to me. It really rubbed me in the wrong way because they insisted that I work with them and not with my realtor who's the only reason why they would sell me the house for the price and do everything they did. That was a crappy way to go about business.

My rent was going up to $1,100 and I've been living there for about eight years, so I decided I to buy a house. LGI Homes built the house for me and it went fairly well. I didn't have any issues. The sales rep was terrific. She kept me posted on the progress of the home being built and sent me pictures. My new home community is great. It's quiet. My neighbors are friendly and I like the area including the park that is nearby.
The only problem that I had is things were incomplete in the house. And it took them about four months to finish one wall that was incomplete. As a matter of fact they just came here today for it. And a tree on my front yard has been there since I moved in and they haven't responded yet at all. I also got some catch-ups around the house though I can take care of those myself.
When I did the walk through, I told them about the issues that were happening with the house. Their rep said he'd take care of it. And two months later, I had to go back down to the office and got the whole line and did all the things they were supposed to. I was almost to a point that I was gonna go to posters and stand on the sidewalk in front of their place of business and protest. And they finally instructed to get things done. One of the contractor said that he wanted me to wait until the end of year because when the house settles, it might do a little cracking. But I told him that I wanted to paint and didn't want to wait until the end of the year to start painting my living room. So, he went along and took care of it. My only suggestion is to get them to give a homeowner a time and a date so they can take care of things in a timely manner.

LGI Homes had an ad in one of the Sunday papers and I was interested in it. I called them and they were very friendly over the phone. We purchased a pre-built new home and the transaction was quick and smooth. They treated me nicely and assisted me and my spouse. Our new home is in a quiet little community and I like it like that. I'm also very satisfied with the amenities they have offered.

LGI Homes seemed to have everything together for people who have never bought a home before. They had more of the new home buyer friendly atmosphere and we didn't really have to go do a lot of things that other people do. Everybody was friendly and explained everything pretty much to a pea. The sales representative was also great and the buying process was simple. They laid everything for us and we gathered all the information we needed then we got them to LGI. However, when we did our walk through, there were a couple of things that were a little off with the house and it seems like after we signed our name and we gave them our money, they take their time getting certain things fixed. That's not cool especially for the big brand new home. We want things to be brand new and not have to worry about spending our own money on something even really small.
There were models that they presented to us but this home was built right before we moved in it. So no one had lived in this house before us. We would have loved to make our own custom thing if offered but they presented us with five different country homes that they have then we chose one from them. Everything was already set and stoned with the homes. They already got the type of countertop, carpet and cabinet inside. And the community is nice and very diverse. It's not a huge neighborhood but it's very open. The more expensive and least expensive homes are both right next to us. There's a segregation as far as the nicer homes are in the front while the less nicer are in the back. Everybody's kind of mixed in together.
There's a really nice scenery and a neighborhood swimming pool. Also, they're supposed to be building a park here pretty soon but I've got no information on that. Moreover, now that we've moved in, my drive to work is better. And it's nice to get off work and get to a night home that's yours and not someone else's. I love LGI.

The quality of the pre-built house that we got from LGI is good and I love the neighborhood. The community's great, it can grow and add value. Also, the location is around ten minutes drive from everything. They could add a few amenities but so far, I love everything.

It’s been extremely frustrating with LGI Homes. We were going to be buying a different house but the way the things ended up working out, we had to switch the lots to coincide it better with us selling the home. They were very nice about working with us on that and everything was pretty good six weeks before it closed. We had put down the money we had saved a lot and for the next couple of weeks, we got pretty good information. Then four weeks out, we stopped hearing from them as often.
We walked through the house and saw issues that we have brought up before. And they just told us not to worry about them. A number of times they told us it’s going to be a new shiny penny home and it really wasn’t. When we moved in, the house was not exactly in the condition we were expecting it to be. We’ve been here for a little over two weeks now and we’ve had issues with the back sliding door, the garage door, and the AC. They’re looking at all these things and they were quick fixes but it’s just been one thing after another. Our kitchen island was a little bit too big so they had to get some people in to fix that and the first day we moved in, one of the things that they had "fixed" fell apart. We opened up our dishwasher and the wood piece they’ve put in to fill the gap just fell off. It really felt like our house was an afterthought for that. I’ve been trying to call their rep but he never called back. That has been the same way. He’ll email but won’t call. He had promised us a $500 gift card to try to make up for all the things that’s going on and I don’t know where that is.
I’m just waiting for the next thing to fall apart. Considering it’s a $330,000 home, this shouldn’t be happening. There were a lot of promises that were made and they’re starting to make the changes that we’ve requested but we need to call them continually and remind them to make the changes. There's a blue tape on the wall, there are still things outside that we’ve told them about three times already which includes a hole at the back retaining wall between us and the street that are still sitting out there. We’re also looking into refinancing because we were told that we’re probably going to be overpaying by about $300 a month.

We had already looked at LGI Homes prior and we really liked the setup. Everybody at the office was friendly and they made us feel like, "Man, this is going to be what we want our home to be." We moved in a month ago in a pre built home. It was the way we liked it. We were living in an apartment so this is like, "Wow." It is also reasonable compared to what we initially looked at the first time and has a lot more space. The new community is clean, friendly, quiet and I love it.

I like the way the houses were built by LGI Homes. It was a pre-built home and we got it when we bought this place about a month ago. Dealing with their sales rep went well. I'm satisfied with the amenities that they offer and it has been a good experience.

We lived in an apartment and went through the little paper we got from LGI Homes to see how the deal was there. Then, we went ahead and purchased a pre-built home. Their rep was cool and great. The home looks great and the community seems to be good though my side is not finished yet and there is construction going on. We have been in the home for about a month now. We'll be happier here because we had an apartment where it was hard to find parking. Now, it's a lot easier to find one because there's always a parking spot for me.

I move in my new home November 2016. Since then a/c has issue. They replace the entire unit and now it's May I am still having issue. Today May 10, 2017 Big Texas Air Service had to come find the leak again for the 7x. It was spot on my wall in the master bedroom where the pipes from outside my unit come in thru attic. After cutting a hole in my wall there was a nail that was nailed thru the pipe doing building my home. The stress and days I missed dealing with this is madness. Now I got to wait to get wall replaced and painted. Builder and contractors should be accountable for their action when causing new homeowners unnecessary stress.
