Bought an LG LMXS30076S refrigerator July 2016 and Sept. 2017 everything suddenly thawed out. Called LG several times and they said it would be on me since I didn't buy the extended warranty. They sent me the # for the 1 and only place that handles their repairs within 60 miles of me. I called them and they didn't even want to deal with my refrigerator since they said they always have issues getting LG to reimburse or pay them for parts and service. I'd have to pay $89 to just have someone come out to diagnose. They came a week later and said all the Freon leaked out and I would need to have the entire cooling unit rebuilt. It would cost $1200 in parts alone! I called the store I bought this from and they worked with LG and they said they would cover it (how "nice" of them).
Parts came in 2 weeks later, I took the day off to wait for the repair guy. He worked on it for an hour and ran into an issue reaching a part in the unit that he needed to access. He called LG and asked how to problem solve this, they told him to cut it apart and solder it after installing. He asked who would be responsible if he did this and further damaged the unit. They said it was his problem and hung up on him. LG you should be ashamed of whoever you have employed to handle these calls. And you have repair contracts with technicians you treat like crap! Useless junk refrigerator and I'm stuck with it? I think a class action lawsuit is in order.

We bought an LG refrigerator in March of 2017. It's a door in door. The problem we are having is with the doors. The door in door isn't closing and sealing properly. We've had 5 service repair guys out that we couldn't really speak English and they continue to tell us the door is closing properly which it isn't. When we open and close the other door it ends up pushing the other door open and then that door doesn't close by itself. LG won't give you the time of day. All we would really like is for them to replace this unit and move on. But they don't want any part of it. You spend $2500 to $3000 on a unit you expect to work properly and they could really care less. I would not recommend LG products to anyone.

Purchased an expensive french door refrigerator in 2015. In 2016 the motherboard went out and we were out of a refrigerator for 2 weeks. Was advised to purchase the extended warranty to lower the repair cost (to $300). Now, in 2017, the compressor is out and we are again without a fridge for a week and lost all our food. The kicker? The compressor is under a 10 year warranty but only for the $160 part. LG is still charging me $400 for labor. It's their flat fee for warranty work, regardless of how long it takes. They overcharge for the labor to cover the cost of all the parts they have to replace.
This fridge has cost me ~$1,000 is service and lost food and it's only 3 years old. Spoke with supervisor "Donald" and he was rude, interrupted me constantly, and flatly refused to provide any customer to lower the labor charge since I've had so many problems with this fridge. He told me to call other techs and see what they would charge--I have. No one else will work on LG fridge compressors because they fail too often. I'm filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and sending a letter to the corporate office. I encourage everyone here who is a victim of LG to do the same. There needs to be a class action lawsuit against LG. PO box 240007. Huntsville AL 35813.

This is the worst appliance (LG Refrigerator-French Door) I’ve ever purchased. The condenser had malfunctioned TWICE in less than 18 Months. I purchased it brand new from Home Depot in May 2016 and 35 days ago I had the condenser replaced as the temperature stopped cooling, and a week ago, THE NEW condenser stopped working, too.
I’ve lost groceries, money, and patience! Please DO NOT PURCHASE THIS REFRIGERATOR or any other appliance made by LG. The customer service is poor, the expense to service their systems when you neglect to purchase an extended warranty is astronomical, and it’s even difficult to call someone! DO NOT EVER PURCHASE this product again!!!

1st I contacted LG and because my dryer was purchased in Nov 2014, it was out of warranty. I was provided a schismatic to properly identify the part I needed (A255 - see exploded view of page 49). I was also required to work with an "authorized parts distributor" near me (California). I initiated my order the 1st week of August and got 2 incorrect parts because LG Parts Department does not label their items correctly!! The authorized dealer was apologetic and I was given a full refund.
So next I called LG directly and they too send me 2 different incorrect parts. After several weeks of calling and arguing to speak to a US based representative, I got Erica ** in "Executive Services" who was unhelpful, rude, and downright wrong in her understanding of the entire situation. Now what? I am now being told I have to buy the entire TOP of my dryer to fix the plastic hinge that broke on my steam compartment. So why does LG make such a piece of crap that needs to have replacement parts within 2.5 years of purchase? I would actually appreciate an answer. Also, Why can't I buy a replacement part without dealing with stupid representatives? Buy the entire lid? REALLY?
So I would like a rep to contact me and ship me A255; that item is not a huge metal door hinge. It is a small piece of plastic!!! It goes into A260 which I was able to purchase without ANY ISSUES. The lovely Erica ** stated LG Corp has mislabeled page 49 and the part I was sent IS the correct part. How was I able to buy A260 (lid) and A255 be a part that is not purchasable? Why is all this made of such cheap plastic? So Erica wants me to replace the entire lid of my dryer... That is everything featured on page 49 section A210 for a ridiculous $150 AND I still have to install all that. Those parts aren't even broken! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING LG. I never will again. They are horrible!!

Purchased a LG refrigerator Dec2016. Aug 31 2017 the unit stopped working we lost all of our food. Approximately $357. We contacted LG. They gave us service contractors names (since they have no direct service). We contacted the service companies. They stated they would not work with LG. Called LG back. We finality found a willing service company after one week. However he asked us to diagnose the ref ourselves and then let him know what the problem was and he would help with the repair over the phone. Now after 2 weeks and dozens of calls to LG we received no help. In the meantime we had to purchase a small cooler so we could purchase some food and keep the items cool.
Again after many more calls to LG we found a service person who would come out and told us that we need a new condenser and three other parts. He has to order them and receive approval from LG. To make matters worse this man is the only one in our area that can install new condensers. He then told us he was going out of the country Oct 5 for 3 weeks. The parts were shipped to our home on Sept 27 still in the boxes. We have called LG 6 times so we can get approval to repair still no response. The long narrative is the reason to stay away from purchasing LG refrigerators. We always had GE and the service and units were great. Remember NO LG REFRIGERATORS. GO GE. Again LG service very, very, very bad.

Has leak water all over my floor and into my finished basement. They continue to try sending out technicians. Most recent technician refused to come out if fridge has been serviced so many times before. LG's answer to this is they will send a different company out. Their warranty only includes service and parts. They will not do a replacement or refund. I have a new baby in the house and have been without a fridge totally for 5 weeks. My LG French Door refrigerator was just under 2 years old when it stopped cooling. Bought it on 9/15/2015, and it died on 9/10/2017. Called LG to find a certified repair person, and not a one would provide service to me as I was outside their service area. This was despite only being 30 minutes away from a Home Depot from whom I bought it. I went round and round with LG on how to service this refrigerator and their lack of repair service. The closest certified LG repair shop would not repair LG compressors! Really!! LG gave me the OK to use a local repairman, they diagnosed it as the compressor, which it was, but would not touch it. Another local repairman told me no one wants to service these refrigerators.
Finally found an LG repairman farther away than 4 others who would not service it, and he charged me $750 labor (due to mileage of 70 miles) to come out and fix the compressor which was under warranty. He told me that this compressors are cheap foreign made units and do not expect them to last more than 7-10 years. He said the LG refrigerators are poorly made, but pretty on the outside. Don't buy an LG refrigerator due to this well known problem, and the fact that LG certified service is not available even though they are sold nearby. Go with Kenmore (Sears) and other USA serviced products who at least will service their products.

Each time it takes about 2 weeks to get part. It did NOT solve problem. NEW PART on order. All within 2 1/2 years! They will NOT even REPLACE a gallon of ICE CREAM. I had not been able to use my nice LG 30 cf refrigerator for about 10 weeks total. Our previous refrigerator was a GE 27 cf. We kept it as a backup. We bought a NEW 30 cf GE. I'm another compressor failure customer getting completely screwed over by LG. They won't fix it. They won't Supply the compressor. Weeks going by. Out several hundred dollars of food and no fridge for 4 weeks. This is incredible. Paid $3,000... LG Imports should be completely blocked from the US. They should not be allowed to sell any appliances in the U.S. They're screwing over thousands of customers in the United States and I'm sick of this. I also had an LG dishwasher that was defective and end of broke three times within a year to the point that I had to get a refund. I mean you know I'm not alone here. There are thousands of people reporting the same issue. It's time that the U.S. government block LG from exporting anything into the United States.

We bought a home that had a completely remodeled kitchen with a brand new LG LRFD25850ST refrigerator (French door style, with freezer below). It is a beautiful LOOKING appliance. The ice maker works. That's the only nice thing I can say about it. When you open the doors, in just a few seconds it starts beeping the "open door" alarm. This is not a defect. It is designed that way. The problem is that the time before the alarm goes off is not settable, and it comes on so soon that you cannot possibly put groceries away before if relentlessly goes off. In fact, it's darn hard to even get things OUT of the fridge without it going off.
Everything plastic on the inside of this fridge is made of a cheap, brittle grade of plastic. The produce bin doors and wide lower drawer have all cracked and broken multiple times in multiple places. The front support plastic edge on the lower shelf cracked in several places and started to sag. Some PVC plastic pipe cement and my own supplies of plastic to reinforce it have kept it in shape, but most people will not be able to make repairs like this and they will end up with the cover doors drawers all broken and coming apart.
One day it just started accumulating a big thick sheet of ice in the bottom of the freezer. After months of just chipping it out of there in big chunks before it started to melt at the front edge and run water all over the floor (which it did multiple times), we went away for a week, so we took out all the food and shut the thing off. After 5 days of being off and completely dethawing, it stopped creating that ice sheet. I assume the defrost draining tube was blocked somewhere.
Temperature distribution throughout the fridge is very unpredictable. Sometimes the ice cream is soft, sometimes hard as a rock, sometimes the milk is too warm while other things in the fridge annoyingly freeze hard as a rock, or vice versa. The light bulb compartment cracks and deforms. The cover is very hard to get off, and the bulbs are very hard to unscrew. I don't know how a simple thing like a light socket can be made poorly, but these are. And cover has melted and deformed from the bulb heat (and we are not using incorrect lamps. They are 15w small appliance bulbs).

On 10/12/2015 we purchased a 46 LG 30 CF 4 DR Refrigerator from Sears. It was delivered and set up around the 21st of the same month. Once set up we noticed scratches in both doors and a couple weeks later were replaced. Because we were having things completed in kitchen, it was unplugged and not used till the beginning of January 2016 at which point everything was fine with this $3000.00 plus refrigerator. On September 1st we got home from work and opened the refrigerator and noticed that everything in there was hot.
So being a holiday weekend, we waited till Monday to call Sears where it was purchased to have a repair person come to fix it. A week later the man came and said it was the compressor and he would have to order the parts. Sounds good until we are told it would be close to three weeks to get the parts. OK so we wait the night before the repair man is to come we call and ask him if he received the compressor as we had not.
He calls the parts place and they are having trouble finding the parts and it will be another 3 to 4 weeks to get the part in if they even come in. At this point we have been without a working refrigerator for 3 weeks and have been told it could be another month. So we were so mad that we called LG directly and explained what had happened and was told by a customer service rep if we got our receipt showing when we purchased it they would replace it.
Ok on the phone for hours getting everything they need the next day we scan everything to them and are told it is our problem and they will not help us. That was a 1 year and 10 month old item. We explained that it was not used until 4 months after we purchased it. However they did not care. LG has the rudest people that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. We also went back to Sears and was told they could not help us either as they have to wait on the parts and they are not sure when they will get them.
Ok so you go out and purchase an appliance and it is not to last over 1 year? This is crazy. All the reviews that I have read also say that it is the compressor that is the problem so at this point no one can help any of us with this problem. This does not seem too fair. Also, the stores that are selling the LG products knowing that there are all of these complaints and service calls for the same thing. How can companies still sell these items that only work for a year or two and then tell you you’re on your own. LG is not standing by their products and this is very sad that they are allow to get away with this. If this was a car dealer there would be recalls and the problem would be fixed for free, why is LG allow to get away with this and do this to honest working people. We are asking for help from LG and would appreciate hearing from someone who cares about Customer Service not selling poor products and then telling us they can’t help.

We bought our LG French Door (door in door) Bottom Freezer Refrigerator in October of 2014 |Model#LMXS30776S/00| when we built our home (along with an LG dishwasher, stove, microwave and washer and dryer). At $3,999.00, we really hoped it would last without problems. Unfortunately I didn't read any reviews before purchasing ALL LG appliances... what a mistake! On September 18, 2017, I came home from work to find that everything in my refrigerator was barely cool and everything in the freezer had completely melted! My brother-in-law is an electrician and works on appliances so I called him to check it out. After determining that the compressor had gone bad, we called LG to order the part. We spoke to someone who transferred us to tech support.
When we requested the part, they said they needed an LG certified technician authorization code and we couldn't order the part because my brother-in-law was not a "certified LG repairman." They gave me the numbers of 3 certified technicians that were over 100 miles away because there were none in my area. After calling them to come diagnose the problem so LG would make good on the 10-year compressor warranty, they refused to come out because... and I quote... "we don't like to work on LG appliances because they are a pain and good luck finding someone to work on it." Not to mention it would've been upwards of $500.00 for them to travel that distance just to verify that it was actually the compressor when we already knew that.
So we called LG back and told them we couldn't get an "LG repairman" to come look at it but that we knew the problem so could we please just order the part. They were extremely rude to both myself and my brother-in-law and would not even let us order the part. So I paid almost $4000.00 for this refrigerator that lasted less than 3 years, and I have no right to access the parts even though the LG service centers in my area will not come to my home and diagnose the problem. We went on Sears Parts Direct and found the compressor for $250.00 thank goodness and my brother-in-law is installing it.
I still find it ridiculous that I have to pay out of pocket for a part that is supposedly covered under warranty... but I will gladly pay that just to not have to deal with talking to them on the phone again. If you buy a super expensive LG thinking it will last, think again. And if the fact that the parts are covered under warranty gives you peace of mind and they will make good on the warranties... don't count on it. Moral of the story... don't buy an LG anything. Fingers crossed that my other appliances last longer than this one did.

Product: Refrigerator. Model #: LFXS29626S. Recently I purchased what I believed was a top of line LG refrigerator. At the time of my purchase I truly believed that I was making the absolute best decision and that I was purchasing the very best refrigerator line that money can buy, however I now feel like I have made the absolute worse decision and I feel totally exasperated because my family and I sit here in our home living out of coolers for over 6 weeks and constantly managing ice to keep our food from spoiling. The problem is that this refrigerator has been out of order since August 8th, it is now Sept 19th and we are facing the 5th time of parts being placed on back order.
If I had some idea of when the parts would arrive rather than facing the 5th time of being backordered there might be some peace of mind. Unfortunately, I have no idea when this part will arrive and will ultimately be repaired. It has already been 6 weeks of living out of coolers. I have called LG customer service multiple times and have dealt with friendly support people who try to help most times leaving the call believing there was a solution soon including being told twice that if the back order is beyond 10 days that the refrigerator would be submitted for likely replacement. No action on this yet just excuses when I follow up.
My refrigerator was delivered Dec 2015 then began noticing problems in July 2017. I had a repair technician at our home on August 8th. Now I sit here with this top of line refrigerator with absolutely no idea when it will be repaired. In the past, I have always purchased less expensive models or maybe what could be thought of as lower quality brands. I have been fairly satisfied with these competitive brands, with only frequent problems requiring regular repairs.
Understandably, I anticipate repairs on all appliances used in my home (those would have been better choices at this point), but this current repair, the time to get it handled and still with no solution is 100% unacceptable. I purchased this brand and model believing the product and support would be first class. I hope that you can comprehend how much of a great inconvenience this has been to be 6 weeks without a refrigerator to me and all my children. I need help and I need it soon! I am feeling inclined to make many more people aware of the support and lack of LG standing behind their products.

ON ANOTHER NOTE: I'm from Maine. Fridge purchased in Maine. Maine has "Consumer Goods And Maine Express And Implied Warranty Laws". I do not know about other states, but is worth a look. In Maine regardless of what warranty the retailer or manufacturer gives, Maine law gives consumers a 4-year warranty and the Retailer is who is responsible and who you deal with, not the manufacturer. So when offered the 3-yr warranty, I say, "No thanks, because I'm covered by Maine Law for the 4 years."

Buy ice cream because I thought the freezer was working as it frozen some leftovers on Monday. Alas, the ice cream is pretty much just below melting point. We bought all new higher end LG appliances. Dishwasher, range, refrigerator, and microwave. Fridge had a catastrophic failure at just over one year, luckily we bought the extended warranty. Then the ice maker died at about year 4. The micro broke in the first year (under warranty) and again at about year 3, (I was able to fix). The dishwasher's rack rusted out at about year 2, again warranty and then the dishwasher just died at year 5 and may be too expensive to repair. The range has been problem free. The entire line of appliances appears to be inferior with regular breakdowns. Now that we are out of warranty we will replacing with different brands as things continue to die. All in all we are very dissatisfied and will never buy LG again.

LG Refrigerator model number LFXS30766S/02 - Retail Cost $3,799. topped working on 6/11/2017. It was Purchased on 7/9/2015. The unit was only 23 Months old. Compressor is Defective and there seem to be another issue with it. As an Engineer, I tested the Refrigerator myself and determined Compressor has completely failed. I called LG Service department to let them know that the Compressor is bad and it needs to be replaced. The Compressor is under 10 Year warranty. I was notified that a technician needed to come out and verify this. I was given 2 options: 1. I needed to pay Approximately $345 (I do not remember the exact amount, but it was this high) to come out just to look at it and fix the issue, but this will be a one-shot deal. Or Option 2. $459 to come out and verify, Fix the issue and then have it covered again under warranty for another year.
I do not understand why I need to pay these amounts for something that is covered in warranty. Especially when I am reading all over the internet that this particular Compressor, Ice trays and circuit boards are Failing at an extremely high rate. I ended up having to pay $459 to have a technician come out to say that I was correct and they needed to order a new one. It's now 3 Months later and I do not have a refrigerator. We have given up on LG. Never again. Pass the word around. Do not wait on them to do the right thing. We ended up purchasing a Kenmore Refrigerator for the family. For the cost we paid for the LG, you would expect a quality product. But it seems like LG is using the US Market as a dumping ground for their defective items.

In Jan. 2011 we purchased a very large LG refrigerator and on Sept. 5, 2017 it died. I called several repairmen, from where we live in Ohio to the lakes to West Virginia to Pennsylvania same answer, no one works on LG refrigerator. They are throw away refrigerators. All of them said it sounded like the compressor went, which is still under guarantee from LG. I called LG and they gave me a phone number to call for repairs, which they did not know the location. It was in upstate New York, and they stated they don't work on LG 's any longer.
So off to Home Depot I went, where I purchased the refrigerator for $2300. They said they don't do anything with repairs. I would have to call LG. I explained I did but no one within a three state area works on LG's. Then while there I noticed a salesperson was selling an LG refrigerator with extended warranty to a customer. I said to the manager, I was talking with, "Why are you still selling LG refrigerators and the extended warranty when you know there is no one to work on them?" I stated. I felt this was consumer fraud and then they agree to give me a discount on a new refrigerator of my choice. I have been telling everyone I know not to purchase an LG refrigerator. All the repair people I spoke with also said even if I found someone to repair it you probably could not get a new compressor, as the parts come from Korea and it is very difficult to them.

I bought my LG French door refrigerator in 2011 and it's pretty much dead now. The ice maker was always flakey but we lived with it. The gasket doors started hanging up and we lived through it. Then ice maker stopped making ice. Ordered new ice maker but found out that it was not making ice because it was not cold enough. Cleaned the coils and it just slowly got worse. Ordered a temp sensor and the main pcb. Tried those parts but still not cooling properly. Called LG. I figured it was the compressor because I read that LG was using bad compressors. Paid a certified LG service provider 600.00 in labor to replace compressor.
Called Friday and by Tuesday they were replacing the compressor, wow I'm feeling good about now. Two guys 4 or 5 hrs later and calls to LG and they were told they needed the main pcb. I gave them the new pcb I had ordered and the same problem persisted. The compressor shuts down after 15 minutes. They said they would have to order another one from LG and come back. After not hearing for a couple of days I called them and ask them "What was up?" They said that they ordered but because LG was having so many problems with these compressors they were back ordered and they had no idea when a new compressor would arrive. They said not their fault call LG and ask them.
Call LG but they were useless. They said they were not having any issues with bad compressors and don't believe anything you read on the internet. I asked "What about the service provider? Is he lying to me?" LG responds that it does not take much to become a warranty service provider just ask to be one. No training. Wow! LG pretty much said 7 years is the lifespan of their products and then they become legacy and put at back of the bus. They will provide parts if they can get them. I own a LG55 inch tv that fail after about 5 years, found a main board out of Nova Scotia and was able to repair that. If it wasn't for that it would in the trash.
So here is the problem I paid the service provider to replace the compressor and LG provided the part but if they have to come back to do it again who pays for that? LG can send another compressor but they're not paying for the service. The service provider had two guys for about 4 to 5 hrs. Why would the service provider work for free? I can see this evolving into can't get parts from LG and LG saying they have no issues supplying good parts forever and never repairing my fridge. Thank god I did not but an LG exploding phone. It took them forever to recall those phones!

I purchased my LG Refrigerator French Door LFXC24726S on 9/5/15 from Best Buy. This refrigerator is used seasonally from June through September each year and winterized. In July of 2017 or after about 6 months of actual usage Error FF (indicating a fan problem) appeared and the refrigerator ceased to cool. A local repairman (not LG) replaced two fans with no improvement. Since an LG repairman was unavailable on a timely basis I was forced to buy a replacement refrigerator since this is a seasonal rental home. I was able to get an authorized LG repairman in late August who with consultation with LG Tech Support diagnosed a probable Main Control Board issue since the board has been updated to correct a known internal fan icing issue. No repairs have been under warranty so after $300 for fan replacement and $500 for board replacement the refrigerator still produced Error FF and does not function.
I would gladly join a class action suit because this is simply unacceptable. Foreign quality that is being sold to the American public by our big box stores. Furthermore, I have been unable to talk to a technical representative at LG myself getting bounced between the standard 800 customer service and the LG parts distributor. My authorized LG repair service indicates that LG is frequently difficult to deal with. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING MANUFACTURED BY LG!

LG Refrigerator Model #LFX25991ST/06 - After three years of use, my LG refrigerator had a compressor go out. The technician told me that this was common with LG refrigerators in the first 3-5 years. What made matters worse, although the compressor is still under warranty, it's replacement will take 5 days (seven with weekends) for delivery. If in fact this has become a common problem, replacement parts should be far more available than 5 days-unbelievable. To make matters worse, my family will be without a refrigerator for 7-10 days (it took two to get a technician to my house) and all items that were in the unit when the refrigerator broke perished. We'll be living out of drive thrus until then. I can't comment on the repair because I'm now waiting for the compressor (today is day four).

Bought LG model LFXS30726S on December 2014 (a $3000 fridge). The compressor failed while on vacation on August 2017. Returned home and witnessed food all ruin, house smelled like some animal died inside. Late return home from vacay so had to stay up late to clear out the fridge fast and doubled bags about 8 trash bags. Family not sleep well that night due to the bad smell that permeated the entire house.
Next day, got a local serviceman and he said the compressor died and its a common issue for LG and informed me the compressor has 10 yrs warranty. So I contacted LG. Horrible experience (life was not good!). First call I was given three local "authorized" LG repair services. First one no one answered the phone. Second and third, "we don't do warranty jobs"?? Second call to LG, received fresh three new numbers and got the same results?? My furious third call back to LG, LG assigned the repair to LG's own technician and said first availability will be 4 days out.
Next morning after vacay, we took the fridge apart and removed the heavy house's door in order to get the LG outside to clean and remove the smell. The next several days we tediously cleaned with vinegar and baking soda several times a day. LG technician came 4 days later and confirmed the compressor is bad and it's on order and will be expedited to the house the next day. The next day it took 1.5 hr to replace the compressor and the labor charge was $460 (with tax).
I contacted LG "executive services" and informed them my experience. They replied via email saying my product is out of warranty yada yada and zero compensations or apologies for poor quality product. This was the second major issue with this fridge. 5 months after we bought it, the controller was bad (defrost timer was bad) causing the freezer to ice up and the fan kept hitting ice LOUD bangs. It took LG's technician FOUR trips/appointments to the house and TWO technicians to determine it was the defrost timer. Had to take off work to meet technicians. They replace the controller board to fix this issue. We bought a mini 3.3 cu ft. fridge (NOT LG) to get us by while the LG was out. I won't recommend LG fridge to anyone and won't buy another LG fridge.

Let me start by saying that their linear compressor is garbage and warrantied for 10 years after purchase date! I purchased my refrigerator in April of 2012. July 26, 2017 refrigerator stopping cooling. The compressor has died after 4 years and their approved service technicians have yet to get a compressor to run in my refrigerator. 1st company has come out 4 times to install the said compressor. I paid $350 to get it serviced to no avail. Not once has the compressor been operational after 20 minutes. It shuts done as the technician drive away. 1st company said it is junk and is all done. The 2nd company that came out that LG sent. Said the compressor needs to be replaced, he can't do it because he said, "he wasn't certified." So we waited an extra week so a certified tech was to come out (today Sept 6, 2017, the date they stated) we called and they are not coming, stating that the refrigerator was junk.
LG's response was that they provided the part and that’s it. I guess it doesn't need to be operational. I've been without a refrigerator for over 6 weeks, thinking and waiting for that customer support that does not exist with LG. LG people were more than rude and unhelpful with every call. Buyer beware LG doesn't back their warranty. LG gave us a case number and made us think they would have help in some way but today’s response was priceless. They are done because they provided the part. Make the part operational. They should back their products and not get away with taking advantage of consumers. They (LG) should be acceptable!! $3000 plus $350 repair, down the drain!!

The saga of the LG refrigerator: 11 months ago we bought an LG refrigerator. When we came back to town the refrigerator had broken and everything in freezer was defrosted. We had to throw away hundreds of dollars of food. We contacted Costco concierge who contacted LG. This is where the fun begins: LG referred us to a repair company that had gone out of business, but we were told we had to wait 48 hours for them to contact us. Then we were given the name of another company several hours away from us who called us right back stated that a part had to be ordered and received before they could fix it. This was done without ever evaluating the problem.
When the part arrived several days later, we were told we now had to wait several more days before someone could come out and install it. After the part was installed, we were told to let them know if the refrigerator hadn't cooled by the next day. It had not. They need several more days before a repair person could be scheduled to come back. The person came back and was not qualified to fix the problem - LG had referred us to a company that was not qualified to do repairs! After 6 hours on hold over two days between Costco concierge, LG customer service, and LG resolution department, I asked for a new refrigerator because we were told the next repair company could not come out to even look at the refrigerator for another week!
In the mean time we are living out of a cooler trying to keep my husband fed with a special diet to deal with his throat cancer. I was assured by someone in the Resolutions department that our request was expedited, but it was not. We are now told that they have a week to decide whether to give us a new refrigerator or continue to draw out repair on the current one after initially telling us we would hear by the next day. When calling again today, the date given by LG of when they will respond has been moved back yet again. So that 3 weeks out we still are no closer to a repair.

I purchased the worst appliance of my life - an LG refrigerator. It is absolute junk, and I regret ever trusting this company with such a large expenditure for their flagship refrigerator. The fridge never - from day one - held a proper temperature, and the compressor failed within the first year. I tried contacting LG to get warranty service on what was offered as a 10 year compressor warranty, and LG customer service denied their obligations through what happens to be the worst customer experience I have ever had in my life. I am so incredibly angry with them. Just writing this review infuriates me.
LG refuses to honor to do the repair, but tries to scam me even further by trying to sell me yet one more level of warranty through my Consumer Protection office, just to honor the warranty that I already have through the original purchase. And then they come back at me and say that they will honor just providing the part on the compressor, if I buy one more extended warranty and sign a waiver to release them from the remaining 8 years left on my already existing 10 year compressor warranty.
My fridge has been sitting dead - DEAD - in my kitchen for the last 18 months. I filed a complaint with my Consumer Protection Branch, and they have been fighting with LG for nearly 18 months now, where LG refuses to acknowledge needing to honor any repairs, or to acknowledge my situation. My fridge, completely dead and with the protective plastic wrap (from factory) still on the doors, is landfill junk. So much for that $3,400 retail price for a bunch of landfill crap.
I hate this company. I hate this company with a passion. I hate them so much, that as my fridge sits dead for the past 18 months, I get so angry that I can't keep food in my house after spending so much money on the initial purchase. The only time I can even try to keep food is over the winter months when my garage is cold from the winter outdoors. I can't believe that I spent an entire winter (this past winter, and the last) going out to the shelf in my unheated garage, and being forced to eat the food there for me and my family, and questioning whether the food that was ate each and every day would make me sick, or whether it would kill me (from food poisoning).
I hate this company so much that I will never - EVER - purchase another LG product in my life. I pray this company goes into bankruptcy. I'm in the process of proceeding on a lawsuit with this company, and I'm going to go after them for every last penny. My lawsuit is fueled by my hatred for LG, so if you want to feel like I do (the rage) you should go out and buy their garbage and experience this overwhelming anger. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They are scammers, building absolute junk, with horrible products made not to even last a year.
My sister just bought an LG phone, and it's the worst piece of garbage she said she has ever bought. She's taking the non functioning phone back to her phone company, because it doesn't work, and has never worked properly. If you want to get an idea about what other LG customers think about LG products, look no further than the 1 star (out of a possible 5 stars) that LG refrigerators are rated at, at ConsumerAffairs.
This company fails at everything they do. Did I say I hate this company, passionately? I have never - EVER - in my life hated anything more than LG!!! Do not buy LG products unless you have a passion for being angry, and enjoy feeling hate. I hate you, LG. You are the worst experience of my life, and I wish you and your scam into bankruptcy. Your products don't deserve to be in the world. LG's bankruptcy would make my life so much better. (I hate LG that much!!!) Stay away.

My first call resulted in a transfer to a repair shop who said, "We don't have anyone to help you today". I tried to make an appointment and they said, "No appointments. Just call back some day". I called LG again and they said find someone to fix it and once they diagnose the problem LG will send the parts. OK, done! But wait... Called again when there was no info sent to the shop, "Oh, sorry will send it now"... Called the next day, "Oh we don't have a full address", called the next day, "Oh sorry it takes 6 days to expedite, not sure why no one told you"... Called again, "Should be able to expedite tomorrow, we will call you." I am completely shocked at the lack of accountability LG is demonstrating in our failed refrigerator compressor. We bought this refrigerator from Home Depot three years ago and the compressor failed in June of this year. When I called LG (who documents that they warranty their compressors for 10 years!), they directed me to their rip-off extended warranty department who charged me $450.00 for an extended warranty. After the service person came out and let them know it was the compressor, they said the parts are unavailable and they canceled my warranty without my permission, refunding my credit card MINUS $100.00 for the service person who diagnosed the problem!
The contract of the warranty states they cannot cancel my warranty unless they give me 30 days notice in writing. After all of this happened I did some research online and it appears that our refrigerator is a lemon and LG is taking no responsibility for selling thousands of crappy appliances. We have spent hours on hold and hours talking to customer service people at LG who have no authority to do anything to help us. I am so disillusioned with this company and will stick to GE for any future appliance purchases. Hopefully this review will save someone else the frustration of dealing with LG.

Please read the circumstances of my inquiry below: We have been talking to LG since July 28th when our French Door refrigerator stopped working. It was determined by one of their licensed repair people that it was the sealed system and that it was under warranty for parts. However, he does not work on sealed systems. We then contacted LG for additional repair people. We were given five names which we called. Each one said that they either do not repair the sealed system or would not service our refrigerator because it was out of their geographic area. We then turned it back to LG, filed the necessary paperwork requested by LG and was assigned case number **. The case has gone from the Location Services Department to Resolution Department and back twice.
We have talked to 5 plus people in the process, all who say it will be 3 to 5 days and they will get back to us which they never have. We have just talked to “Willie” who said that the case is in the Location Service Department once more and it will be 48 hours before he will know what the determination is from that department. Supposedly they are looking for a person to repair it. We are still without a refrigerator and I am at my wit's end. In 5 more days it will be one month that we have been dealing with this issue.

Already went through one issue shortly after purchasing the fridge with the ice maker. They made it right, but the LG certified technicians had to come back multiple times because they really didn't know what they were doing. Now the latest adventure. Compressor went about a month and a half ago. Turns out the compressor has a 10 year warranty. Great, right? Not so much. Getting this problem resolved has been an absolute nightmare. After doing what they wanted me to (having a repairman come out), I found out labor was not included on the compressor. Fine. I found a very reputable company to inspect and agree to do the repair. Unfortunately, it's a half a day's work so talking $300-$400 just for labor. Decided to have it fixed rather than buy a new fridge.
1st call - said I would have a response in 24 hours. 2nd call - said no, timing to hear something back is 24-48 hours. 3rd call - said no, timing is 3 days. 4th call - said no, timing is 3-5 days. They called my repairman (I don't know why - the customer service rep had no info for us) and he told them the same thing. Put in a request on his computer for "service center" to call my repairman back. 8th call - said they showed they sent out an e-mail with the info to my repairman (they did not).
9th call - my repair man was on vacation so could not confirm anything until he returned. Heard nothing. Supposedly putting in their system to call him again. Nothing. 10th call - immediately asked for a supervisor. Transferred me to someone in the states (Huntsville, AL). She told me the other calls go to the Philippines and that the computer showed someone calling him the day I lodged the complaint (lie). Also told me my previous Confirmation/ID# (or whatever they call it) had been closed. Great! She opened a new number. This was Thursday the 17th. Told me my repairman would hear something in 5 business days and there was no way to expedite because there were so many people in front of me. Thursday should count as day one since I called in the morning. Nothing.
11th call - Called back on Friday the 25th. Asked for a supervisor. This time did not get transferred to the states.I assume still the Philippines. Told me the computer showed they called my repair man the day I called the last supervisor. (At this point, I feel like they do this in their system in case they get sued so they can say... "Look, we called him. He didn't answer." All lies) Promised someone would call my repair man in 30 minutes and an e-mail would follow. Nothing. 12th call - Called Monday the 28th (today). Again asked for a supervisor. Again, Philippines. "Joe" promised he would have my issue resolved and would not leave until it was. After missing 41 minutes of work, hung up on me. I guess the moral is, don't buy an LG anything! My stove's electronics are also starting to fail as well. They want you to give in so they don't have to ship a compressor that will probably fail again anyway, but I'm not giving up. Back to the phone...

Our LG fridge LFX28968SW was already in our house when we moved in Apr 2017. However, the label is stamped with "manufactured 2013" so it can't be more than 4 years old. This model lists for $2,400 ++. It is a beautiful appliance, but beauty is only skin deep here. The fridge stopped cooling and freezing in Aug 2017; that's way too soon for a "durable goods" product. ALL of my previous fridges (Amanda, Frigidaire, Kitchen Aid) lasted over 10 years without issue when I left them for the next homeowner. The one homeowner says Frigidaire is still running without issue and it's over 17 years. Anyway, I called LG customer service and we ran the SMART Diagnosis process but the rep said it didn't reveal any errors; I guess it isn't so smart after all. We did get the unit to display a error code 22, which according to the LG website, indicates a compressor relay failure.
It's a small, easily accessible, inexpensive part ($12 for similar parts on Amazon) but LG customer service refused to provide me with a parts list and service manual and said that only LG certified techs can repair it. Since the remaining LG warranty only covers parts, I'm guessing at least $200-$350 labor costs based on posts for similar repairs. So, after 3 days of waiting on the LG recommended techs to make an appointment, I contacted a repairman recommended by 2-10 Home Warranty.
They came next day and replaced the relay but it still isn't working; so much for the reliability of the error codes. He said a fuse on the control board blew and since the fuse is soldered in, the whole board needs replaced. (PS I have the fridge on a surge protector). I asked him candidly if this was an ongoing problem, his response was he does several per month but unfortunately can't keep the boards in stock so it's at least another week to get the replacement part. So after two weeks, I'm still living out of coolers and my daughter's dorm room fridge.
Luckily we had the 2-10 Home Warranty that came with the purchase of our home. Otherwise, the cost would be significantly higher. So I'm looking at a $100 deductible, plus cost of food spoilage, plus cost of ice for coolers. In addition to the cost, it's a huge inconvenience to constantly manage the issue (phone calls, service appointments, waiting on parts, swapping ice, etc) all this to fix a supposed top of the line fridge. It's not right to have a "durable goods" product fail after 4 years, and based on my experience with customer service, and based on parts availability, and based on responsiveness of the LG techs, and based the blogs, I won't buy any LG product no matter what it is. The internet mentions a class action suit brewing, I will surely sign on when I get the right contact.

We purchased a counter-depth LG refrigerator (Model LFX25991ST) 4 years ago. The ice dispenser switch went bad. Then in June, 2017, the compressor failed and had to be replaced. In August, 2017, the evaporator fan failed and had to be replaced. We have lost all confidence in the refrigerator. There are many one-stars ratings for a reason.
LG Warranty: When I called LG (good luck getting someone let alone someone you can understand), the customer service representative told me that parts are generally covered for 10 years, but labor is not. An authorized LG repairman can inspect the unit (usually for a fee) and order the parts from LG for free, but you pay for their labor to install the parts. If you don't use an authorized LG repairman, you will need to pay for both the parts and labor (but their labor charges are often a lot less, so the total cost may well be similar).

Purchased LG model LFXC24726S counter depth refrigerator in late Sept 2016. All was good until April of 2017. The ice maker started leaking and would freeze so that the ice bin could not be removed. The water would leak out onto the front of the refrigerator causing the panel to be discolored and the bottom drawer on outside to be constantly water spotted. We had a repair man from Famous Tate replace ice maker. Same thing happened. He said the whole door had to be replaced. He ordered the door in early May. It is now August 26 and still no word from them. We also contacted LG and they promised to have someone get back to us in a few days. That was 10 days ago. We plan to go to Famous Tate today and try to get something done about this issue.

I have had less than acceptable experiences with this fridge since we purchased it Feb. 27, 2012 from Home Depot. Soon after our purchase, it started making really loud grinding and lawn mower noises. They would last for a week, and then stop. At first, we thought it may be normal, but as the problem persisted, I called to have someone help me understand what was happening. They said it was buildup of frost, and explained what to do. Long story short, it kept happening, and finally our freezer drawer stopped suctioning. Someone came out, and everything seemed to be ok, and now it is happening again.
Freezer door is not closing on its own and soon we will have the same problem. I called LG they want almost $400 to send someone out! Last time I had to send my receipt, the printed order from Home Depot and had several case numbers just to get it repaired. We have a fridge in our garage that is 20 years old and it works perfectly fine, but has rust on the doors and shows its age - which is why we bought a new product, supposedly better, but very disappointing. I will not purchase another LG fridge again.

LG Refrigerator Compressor Model # LFX31945ST/02 - We bought our refrigerator in February 2014. It was discounted almost half off to $1851.30 and we had another 10% off coupon (plus they automatically added the 3 year warranty that was another $90). I asked what was wrong with it, why it was discounted so much and I was told it had been a loaner fridge while someone else's was repaired. I snatched it up thinking I was getting a great deal for our new house. There were things that didn't seem right like the door never seemed to seal tight and the light would work then go out then work and so on, but nothing major just little quirks.
Then in July 2017 we got up one morning to find that everything was hot in both fridge and freezer. So I contacted LG. I knew that my extended warranty had run out 5 months earlier, but I was told that the compressor was still under warranty along with a few other parts. They could only find 2 places that would work on LG and both were an hour plus away. So I contacted one who right off the bat told me LG was notorious for their compressors going bad. They came out to diagnose a bad compressor $91 and had to get authorization for parts.
Meanwhile he informed me that he had 6 more LG's he had to get to with you guessed it BAD COMPRESSORS. Some of them going bad in the first 6 months. After the parts came in he came out replaced it for another $288.90. I asked him would this last longer than the 3 years that I got out of the first one and he told me they would not guarantee anything. He recommended that I sell it as fast as possible. Imagine how I felt. That was last Tuesday 8-15-17.
Today is 8-22-17 and it has yet to cool or freeze properly. We have had 2 gallons of milk go bad because it is too warm and my ice maker hasn't worked yet because it has to reach 15 Celsius before it will make ice. We bought bagged ice and it melts a puddle underneath it because it is too warm. I called the technician back who of course feels bad but is not surprised. I spent an hour on the phone with LG this morning, and they tried to get me to call another technician out. I refused told them they better make this right. She told me they would replace the compressor, I told her they would also pay the labor that I was not paying another dime. I just paid it last week and I am not paying it again.
She told me the technician's work was guaranteed. I informed her that he told me they would not guarantee it and that they recommended I sell it. She then told me we would "reset" the freezer by opening the door and slamming it 4 times in a row. What a joke. She told me not to open it for 6 hours and she would call me back then. So I am waiting and furious that we have now lost food twice because LG has an inferior product and refuses to fix it. The technician is scheduled to come back Saturday and is expecting me to pay if LG does not. I will update after my phone call this afternoon. I recommend you stay away from LG refrigerators.

The first time we had a problem with things in the freezer not staying frozen, the fan in the back of the freezer had to be replaced. Cheap little fan motor for such a big unit. Now we are having the compressor replaced, everything melted in the freezer and the refrigerator section was up to 50 degrees where it should be 33 degrees. The unit is a French Door unit and we purchased it May of 2013. I feel it should have lasted much longer than it did. It seems to me they don't make any thing to last these days, and the price is out of sight.

We bought our LG fridge LMXS30776S 2 Door, 2 Drawer POS in Jan. 2015, It is a beautiful appliance, but beauty is only skin deep here, we paid $3200 bucks for this supposedly long term goods. First year had to replace ice maker and PCB board, and got no satisfaction from LG warranty, we went back to where we purchased it and they were able to get somebody to repair it for free, THANK YOU HOME DEPOT! 2nd year roller rack in bottom freezer drawer broke, again LG did nothing to help, this time they said, "Oh sorry out of warranty. Thank you for buying LG products." Now it completely died but lights still worked, all the ice cream in freezer melted and of course the shrimp and salmon and our other frozen stuff went bad. Fortunately I have a 30 year old Amana 27cu ft side by side out in the garage (never been repaired since new). We were able to save most of the refrigerated items and just a few of the semi-thawed frozen items.
Here we go again!!! Called customer service and they said in broken English like Chinese or something Asian and told me call an authorized LG service tech in my area. I contacted a local repairman, they came next day after waiting over a week for LG customer service to respond (Pitiful). He diagnosed the problem as the compressor was bad. $75!! Really? 2 years old and the fridge dies? I asked him candidly if this was an ongoing problem, his response was he does about 3 per week and keeps LG replacement compressors in stock... Wow. The repairman came back next morning with new compressor in the box and cut out the old one and soldered in the new one, did a very nice clean job too. No charge for compressor but $275 installation fee for a total of $350 bucks to fix a 2 year old top of the line fridge.
I sure hope there is a class action suit brewing soon, it's not right to have a new product repaired 4 times in 2 years with one of the repairs being a new heart for the fridge... A seriously flawed design in this new type of compressor called "Linear", I also lost confidence in the other LG stuff I bought, new Dishwasher, new Range, over the stove Microwave, Washer, Dryer. This company has me nervous now that's for sure. I should have stuck with my old favorite Whirlpool, but to us it's a $9,000 mistake I won't make again on any LG product no matter what it is. "Caveat Emptor".

Hoping someone else will read this (and the feedback from countless other discontented LG customers) before buying an LG product. We remodeled our kitchen two years ago and bought all new appliances, including one of LG's expensive refrigerators - model LXFS30726S. About two weeks ago the unit stopped cooling and we called LG to have it repaired (parts are covered under warranty after year 1, labor is not). A repairman came out four days later and deduced that we needed a new compressor and three other parts to fix it. Ordered them and gave us an ETA of one week to be back and have the repair completed. We had to text him on the day it was supposed to be fixed to find out that the part wasn't in yet. Called LG and was told by the hard to understand customer service rep that the parts had shipped and would be in the next day. That didn't prove to be true.
Called again two days later and got the Escalation department (which apparently means the excuses keep escalating but the customer service quality does not). At least I could understand this representative, who called the repairman while she put me on hold and said she had confirmed with the repairman (he also works for LG) that the parts were in and he'd be out in a week to fix it. We called the repairman because he'd said he would be out as soon as the parts were in and we didn't want to wait another week - we have already been without a refrigerator for two weeks and he said the parts were not in and that he hadn't told the customer service rep he'd be out the following Monday.
So, basically LG's customer service representative lied to me just to get me off the phone. It is sad that such a large corporation cannot get its act together and is acting so shady in dealing with its customers. I'm hoping that eventually we have a working refrigerator but not holding my breath at this point. This is apparently an epidemic with LG. Do yourself a huge favor and buy a different brand of refrigerator - we sure wish we had at this point.

While defrosting the fridge normally melted water coming into the plastic tray which fitted above the compressor and it will help for cooling the compressor. In this model the compressor is mounted in a IRON RECTANGLE TRAY and water overflows from plastic tray and enters the IRON Rectangle tray and it get RUSTED due to accumulation of water. This will lead to compressor falling down and damages the product.
In view of the above, to UP KEEP the GOOD WILL of LG Name and product kindly look into the matter in deserving seriousness. I suggest that present positioning of THE RECTANGLE PLATE BE REVERSED and mount the compressor on that, so that water will not be accumulated in the tray. Normally since this part is coming behind the refrigerator, this defect will not be visible before it is too late. This is only a suggestion for your consideration, myself being a regular customer of LG (Life is Good) brand.

I think LG refrigerator owners who are experiencing repeated compressor problems should file a Class Action Lawsuit against LG for a full original purchase price refund and subsequent repair and warranty plan costs incurred for inferior product design and manufacture. Our LG French Door Refrigerator Model LMXX30776S/01 is also experiencing compressor failures. Purchased in February, 2015, the original compressor was replaced in September, 2016. Now, August, 2017 that compressor is also failing. Temperatures continue dropping in the refrigerator, freezer, and mid drawer sections even though I continue lowering the temperature set points. The ice maker is also producing small cubes at a very slow pace, and they begin melting and forming refrigerator icebergs.
My wife purchased the Warrantech Extended Warranty through hhgregg. Recently Wil, the LG repair tech from Fredericksburg, VA, was at my home to service the unit. He measured temperatures, low and high side line pressures, and voltage. He cleaned some dust from the back of the refrigerator and left. He said he could not stay and further monitor the unit because it went into the defrost cycle. He told me to call him after a day or two to let him know if I was still having problems. I called and left a message on his phone. I have not received a return phone call. The temperatures continue to drop. Refrigerator performance continues to deteriorate, and $3,000.00+ has been wasted on a extremely poor product.

Finally LG got back to me and told me whatever the problem is, they will have it fixed for a flat rate of $229. I paid them $229, hoping that the problem will be solved now. Few days later an LG worker came to check the fridge, only to tell me that the fridge cannot be fixed. I would have to buy another $4000 fridge from LG. It was hard for me to believe this fridge cannot be fixed, so I called somebody else to have the fridge checked, which is when I found out that the compressor has stopped working and just needs to be replaced.
LG was trying to CHEAT me and make me buy another fridge from them. They wouldn't even return the $229 flat rate that I paid them to have the fridge fixed. After arguing with them for weeks, they finally agreed that they will have the compressor replaced at the FLAT RATE of $229 but the part is NOT available for the time being. If such a BIG company like LG fails to find its own part, why I must suffer...? Weeks passed and they could not even find their own part. Bottom line is, LG COMPANY TRIES TO CHEAT YOU. The fridge could easily be fixed by replacing the compressor (which was still under warranty), but LG wanted to CHEAT me into just buying another $4000 fridge from them. They gave me a very hard to time; for months I kept arguing with them. Never buying an LG product ever again!

I have never written a review before but this issue has me so angry I felt the need. Our fridge is 2 years old. We wanted the best for our brand new kitchen... So sadly ALL MY APPLIANCES (WASHER AND DRYER INCLUDED) ARE LG!!! I wish I had my money back. I started talking to LG about my issues in mid-July. I was given two service people in my area to work on my fridge, which was at that time freezing all the crispers to the point I can keep nothing there. The fridge is 60m degrees, crispers at 20, "chilling drawer" at 20-30, depending on its mood that day and the freezer is holding at 0. One repairman came, talked to tech services and was told then there was a service bulletin on this model. He followed the tech's advice and order a new board and a seal. (Customer service lied to me and said there was no service bulletin... told them my husband saw it and read it so they were lying about that!!!)
Waited a week for the part. He installed and left. That evening the same error showed up in the screen... E rF... again! Tech support had told him this meant a fan error. He comes back to then tell me TS wants me to shut down the fridge for 24 hours so it can "reset", which means you are really without a unit for 48 hours as it takes 24 for it to reach correct cooling temp. So we follow their request and start life out of a cooler. That seems like a very long time ago... Needless to say, the shutdown did not work. The error returned, servicemen refused to come back so I called the other name given to me. He flat out refused to come, stating he had one just like it in his shop that LG (the largest appliance company in the world), could not tell him how to fix, and he wasn't going to get stiffed by them for his effort.
I have spoken to LG several times and am currently without a fridge, have a $341 bill for the misplaced efforts on repair attempt, and am waiting another 7-10 days until they decide to let me know if they will fix or replace. I can only assume from what I have learned that LG has a product with such a problem in multiple systems that they have NO IDEA how to fix and can only hope we will give up and just go spend another $3000-$4000 on a new one!!! I have lost hundreds of $$$ in food and expense of eating out because of this.
I do not plan on giving up... I plan on turning them over to the Better Business Bureau and contacting a Lemon Law lawyer. I can totally understand that at times things don't work as designed but to tell customers they don't know what you expect is not acceptable to me. They have lost a very good customer over this whole issue. Add up in your heads, LG management, how much your top of the line appliances cost for a new kitchen and laundry room and tell me how many customers you can tick off before you wake up!!!

Till today there have been 6 repair attempts plus a few more diagnostic visits and they haven't been able to make it work once. Lately the technician whose name is Kevin but won't tell me his last name has become disgruntled. Has failed to show to his appointments 7 times. This means 28 hours of waiting. He has stated on his last two visits that there is nothing he can do and claims he will deem unrepairable but when I call LG they say he has not named it so.
I have asked for alternate solutions with other technicians or perhaps outsourcing to authorized service providers but they just keep rescheduling Kevin who hasn't been able to fix and has just stopped showing up. They say they reached out to him and his manager but nothing happens. The extended warranty company called Warrantech states their hands are tied since they only will use LG. I am out of patience and ideas; seems this company is stalling. This has been disruptive to my family, expensive in having to eat or order out much more often, having to wait for hours for a tech that won't show up and the anxiety that it has produced. If I paid for an extended service plan, ($500 or so per year) I could have a tech come out the next day. I called a local repair company who came out and said that the compressor had a small leak and that I should call LG since the part would still be under warranty. I contacted LG who then scheduled an appointment for 4 days later even though with a service plan I could of gotten service the next day. Service tech texted he was on his way, my daughter was home and did not hear him knocking. He never texted me to state he was outside. Just left. I texted him numerous times to see what his progress of arrival was and no response, I called various times and left messages and no response.
I contacted LG customer service who said my ticket was still open (at 10:00 am, tech we found out had come over at 8:34 in the morning). Waited longer and then was told at noon that the call was cancelled because he could not reach me. Funny his first text came in just fine to let me know he was on his way and when I had not heard from him and contacted him numerous times there were only crickets to be heard. Called LG customer service and was given the runaround. First I was given a number to follow up with that was supposed to be where the LG tech was being dispatched from. Called the company, this was a one man show with no employees who did not have a work order sent to him for our repair. Waste of time and aggravation there.
Then with 20+ minute wait times on additional calls to customer service to just be told, "call this company and see if they can help, we have no appointments available this week to reschedule you" and when I asked for a supervisor... 40 minutes later I finally got one. My daughter in the mean time Contacted LG on Twitter and was given phone numbers of repair companies to call. Great customer service right? Here we are a week later with no diagnosis still and now as I am reading many more people are having the same problems. Finally got the repairman to contact me after speaking to the supervisor which was promising and he apologized and stated it must of been a problem with his phone and that he would be there first thing before 8:00 am the next morning. I personally waited for him and called him when he was late. He returned the call after 9:00 am to state he had family problems but was on his way.
He then shows up just to tell me that the fan was frozen and we needed to disconnect the refrigerator and let it defrost. Hmmm when I checked online someone had the same errors and mentioned that it was a refrigerator fan that needed to be replaced so I spoke to my husband and daughter who had by then made a secondary appointment with another LG tech because we were not sure this one was going to show up after yesterday's fiasco. Lo and behold we got a third opinion, they agree with our diagnosis and changed the fan and now it is working again.
One week and $429.63 out of pocket later so far (btw found fan only cost $80.00 online but we did not know how to install) hopefully this fan will last another year and a half so we can get money to buy a new NON LG refrigerator to replace this one! NEVER again will we purchase an LG product. I really thought I was getting quality and value for my money and now we have learned to do even more research before buying pricey appliances like this in our future.

Bought this French door LG refrigerator in May 2015 model number- LFXS307668. Paid 3200.00 for it. Leaking water on the floor, not cooling, all food ruined. Been through much of what the others have noted. Run around from LG. Told by a certified LG repairman he has received at least 30 calls this week with the same issue- freon leak, compressor, evaporator, etc. Huge cost to repair. Quoted 700.00 for labor only, no warranty after 90 days from repair and it can easily take a month to get parts as they are backlogged. What a money pit! Wish I would have read these reviews before purchasing. NEVER buying an LG product again. There should be a class action law suit against this company. Purchased in Spring of 2015, and just before the year warranty went out, the ice maker quit working. After a week or two we got that fixed, and while waiting on that repair, my son's LG refrigerator stopped cooling and he was having major issues with getting it repaired b/c it was out of the year warranty (purchased Fall of 2014). Because he was having so many issues, we decided to buy the LG Extended Warranty, just in case, and it was over $500. So now we're in for over $3000 for this refrigerator. FYI, my son junked his after several months b/c he could not find anyone who could/would work in it or even figure out what was wrong with it!!! THEN just this past month, July 18th we returned home from a week's vacation and the refrigerator had stopped working, so we were up until late throwing out over $500 worth of food and cleaning a nasty refrigerator.
My husband called them immediately and started the process of getting the repairs made using the LG Extended Warranty. It took him three calls to just get to the right people that might could help us, and they said it would be the end of the week before anyone could JUST look at it! Well, those folks never called the day before, as promised, so my husband starts calling again. Finally someone showed up on July 28th, but guess what? It's a sealed system and LG wouldn't let them work on it. My husband has spent hours on the phone going from person after person up the chain, and finally on August 2nd he got a supervisor that admitted that they had no one in the State of Louisiana that could even work on our refrigerator!!!
We are waiting for a call by 2:00 today to see what they are going to do about the situation, to fix or replace... oh, and the LG Extended Warranty will only reimburse us for $250 of our food, not to mention we've had to eat out much more and buy a smaller refrigerator just to keep a few cold food items in! LG is a JOKE, both their refrigerators and their LG Extended Warranties!!! STEER CLEAR OF LG REFRIGERATORS!!! I'll let you know what happen when we hear back from LG.

I bought my LG French Door Refrigerator in December of 2014. It cost over $3000 and I was told by the salesman at Home Depot how GREAT the linear Compressor is. I noticed on Sunday that the ice was melted and the temperature was rising. I found my LG information and called Customer service. I was told the earliest they could come out was 4 days later. They also told me that he could not "uninstall" the fridge. It had to be moved out of its slot so he could access it, and it had to be unplugged. I was also told that the compressor was under warranty, but the replacement would be 375-425 PLUS state tax.
Well, after 4 days, I had to throw away all the food that was inside. Probably another $200/300. The guy came out and told me that he would order the parts, but my "cell service" was bad so he couldn't tell me if they even had the compressor in stock. He told me they would come out the next day, unless the part isn't available. Which, reading the forum, looks like it's 5 weeks out. Terrible product. The Sad thing is, that I'm a Realtor. I have caused at least 5 or 6 clients and friends to buy an LG fridge because, the compressor has a 10 year warranty... as if that does any good. I'm a single Mom, and I feel like I have to earn my money twice. Once to kill it and bring it home, and again to make sure it doesn't fly out the window. I'm angry, Frustrated, and defeated.

Like thousands of other LG Refrigerator victims my new LG model LSXS26366S died. I had to throw out over $200.00 worth of fresh food, spent another $1000 on repairs. I called LG speaking to call centers overseas trained to kill you with kindness as they provide no help. Then had to pay a local company to look at it, the technicians said "I hate to tell you you're screwed sir, a sealed system failure." Compressor. Then LG on the 4th day arranged a company that showed up in the 1970 tiny pickup truck, they do not accept credit cards cash only- "yup sealed system failure that will be another $89.00 bucks". $1,100 to fix it.
The Federal Trade Commission is allowing LG Electronics USA to continue to rip-off Americans. LG is aware of their defective compressors & systems. I was told they are back ordered in Korea, could be 2 months before parts become available. A Class Action Lawsuit must be filed to protect Honest Americans from this company. I purchased the LG refrigerator in June 2016 from Home Depot. The compressor failed July 2017. Fortunately, I had purchased the extended 5-year warranty through Home Depot; however, the on going saga of trying to get the unit repaired is unacceptable. It took nearly 10 days to get repairman to the house to diagnose the problem. There were no compressors anywhere within the United States to replace the defective compressor. The compressor was back ordered with a promised delivery date 10 days after the repairman had diagnosed the problem. I expected the compressor to arrive by August 3rd. I was recently informed that it would not arrive before August 17th with a possible installation to occur within 1 to 3 days after that date! This would be over a month to get the refrigerator repaired.
In discussing the problem with the repairman, he informed me that he is seeing numerous compressor problems with the LG refrigerator. Home Depot, although not acknowledging a problem, was good enough to offer a small refrigerator to provide some form of unit for us to have in the interim. I suspect that they know that LG has a major problem that is being 'swept under the rug'. This is a problem that needs further investigation.
I honestly want Home Depot to take the unit back, so I can replace it with another brand. It was the top of the line LG refrigerator, in which I paid nearly $3000. Compressors should not fail within a year's time, and if they do, there should be replacements available in less time than a month. Clearly, LG has some sort of defective design with their refrigerator compressors. As I have investigated the problem online, I noted that there has been at least one class action suit against LG refrigerators in the recent past. I believe that this issue is potentially lining up for another class action suit.

After just having bought my first home, I really wanted to splurge and buy a nice big beautiful $3,400 stainless steel refrigerator as a center piece. But buying this expensive LG LMXS30776S was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. At just 2 years the thing is broken and will no longer cool. I came home one night to find that all of the ice in the ice maker had melted and puddled onto my hardwood flooring and all of my food was spoiled. Completely dismayed that my refrigerator is now cooling at 60F I called LG. They sent a tech out and he diagnosed a failed sealed system. To have a failed sealed system in 2 years is truly, truly remarkable. But you then think to yourself, "Well that's ok though, sealed system is under warranty right?" NOPE! The parts might be covered by warranty, but the LABOR is not. And apparently sealed system is a specialty repair service and I was quoted at $850-$1100 on the low end JUST OF LABOR.
And then you think to yourself, "Well Jesus, that's unbelievably expensive," so you call LG and ask them why they are selling $3400 refrigerators that don't even last 2 years? What kind of product quality are they really putting out? And they don't back up their own products? We work hard for that kind of money and consumers deserve quality assurance for their purchase. Agent very reluctantly escalated my case and I was eventually granted an exception to cover labor under warranty as well, but now here's the most interesting part.
I called their authorized service provider to come back out and fix it, now with a warranty exception code but they flat out REFUSED to come back to work on the thing because apparently LG has stiffed them multiple times on warranty repairs. So LG is not only stiffing their customers with cheap and faulty appliances but they are also stiffing their own authorized service providers on warranty reimbursement to repair their cheap and faulty appliances. But you could figure that would happen if so many of them break right? It's not good business for LG to repair everything they build.
So at this point, it has been 1 month since I've had a working refrigerator. There are literally only two service providers in my area that can fix sealed systems and are authorized to work on LG (a huge amount of service providers don't even want to work on LG, so let that be the giant red flag for you.) But of these two service providers, both of them refuse to do any warranty work for LG whatsoever. I guess I wouldn't want to either, if I wasn't getting paid for my work. I have been in contact with LG daily about this, asking to give me a real solution, but they just keep giving me lip service and lists of more and more service providers, all of which are completely out of the state and can't even come here because they are not licensed outside of their own state. I've gone through 20+ service providers that LG has given me and it's the same story over and over. "We don't service your area, we aren't licensed in your state" etc etc.
I tried explaining this to LG repeatedly but they either don't listen or don't care. Or perhaps they already know, but they just give you an endless run around with no real solution. The last agent I talked to just bluntly told me I'm SOL. So ask yourself this, what good is a warranty if their own company won't back it up? What good is a warranty if no service provider will accept it because LG is scheming them out of their money too? At this point I can either pay $1200+ for parts and labor out of my own pocket and reinvest back into this terrible piece of garbage that I am confident will just fail again in the near future or I can just take this thing out to the backyard and blow it up and buy a different brand. And really, in full and total honesty, I'm much more inclined to do the latter. Because I will never trust my food in this thing ever again, even if it gets fixed.
I will never trust LG again. I'm now just far too ashamed to even have the LG symbol in my household now that I know the truth of this company. Yeah, you're sitting there reading all these reviews because this is a big purchase for you, just like it was for me. And you're thinking to yourself, "This poor guy, he just got unlucky that his broke so early, but mine won't be like that and even if mine does have a problem, I have this great LG warranty right?" You don't.
LG is proven to have cheap and faulty products and they have proven that their warranty is completely meaningless because THEY HAVE NO INFRASTRUCTURE TO REPAIR IT ANYWAY. You're better off buying 30 mini refrigerators for the same price and then just replacing them as they break throughout the years... But the truly sad part is... You won't need that many because one cheap $100 mini fridge will still last significantly longer than any giant shiny piece of junk you buy from LG.

Horrible experience. We need to have a class action lawsuit against LG for the defective products, poor customer service and incompetency. Just as we approached our 2 year mark with this refrigerator (nearly two months now), the freezer stopped producing ice and the cooling system stopped. Since we were out of warranty and only approved service providers in my area could do the repair, we were convinced into purchasing an out of warranty contract for $500 before we could get anyone at LG or their insurance company to assist us. We waited nearly one week before the service provider came out to diagnose the issue. When he left, he told us it was the compressor and that he would need put in an order for its replacement.
Another week went by and the compressor was finally replaced. However, the refrigerator barely got cool and the freezer, although it produced ice, was not keeping the items like ice cream frozen. Again, we needed to have the service provider return and he concluded that the refrigerator may be leaking freon and damaging the compressor. He also thought it was the fan. The repair company and us have been going back and forth with LG's insurance claim department who refuses to replace the refrigerator until all repairs are exhausted. We are now waiting nearly two weeks for a replacement compressor but this is going to be the last concession that we are making. If this next compressor does not work, LG can be rest assured that they will be replacing our refrigerator (without any depreciation factor).
We have lost a ton of food and continue to live out of ice coolers in the scorching hot weather. We cannot afford to continue to eat out or buy food on a daily basis with not care or concern from LG. They kept us waiting for hours and have made promises to call back and still no sense of urgency. Clearly based upon the reviews on this site, this is a known issue of this LG product which was rated to be top of the line. We will never purchase anything LG ever again. They clearly are not experts in this market and moreover any technology... All they seem to do is copy from other experts and spend no time with R&D or testing before rolling out products to the market.
LG needs to get out of the business completely and we will not stop until we have a satisfactory resolution. We cannot exist with a young infant in our household without a working refrigerator. Our old GE refrigerator lasted nearly 20 years and this LG not even 2 years. We should have known from the first time we got the first delivery. It did not go well and blew all the transformers outside my house. That should have been our warning of what in store for us. Very, Very dissatisfied with this product and LG customer service experience. :-(

I called LG in June and purchased an extended warranty for this problem. $360. And then I was referred to a repair place that would come out and diagnose the problem. They came and said it was the condenser. It took them 4 weeks to come back with a condenser and they replaced it and said, "give it 24 hours to cool." NOTHING CHANGED. PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED. Repairman came again today and said LG is now recommending, if there is a leak or not cooling, the condenser, the compressor and the evaporator. Basically the complete inner workings of the refrigerator.
The repairman said, "this is ridiculous and LG should be giving you a replacement or check to purchase something new." He said their refrigerators are horrible and this is a known problem and he wouldn't be surprised if there was a lawsuit against them. A quick Google search sees that there is a lawsuit that is ramping up. Customer service for LG is an absolute joke! No help and completely indifferent. Assurant, the ext warranty company, is not much better. I have been promised this would be fixed for over 5 weeks now and it hasn't. I purchased an LG Refrigerator two years ago for $2600. I researched many units and this one rated the best because of the Linear compressor. This compressor is supposed to be the best because it has so few parts to break down. Well, they are so wrong! My Fridge broke down a few days ago. I immediately called LG and they referred me to a local appliance repair shop in my area. They came out and determined that it was the condenser fan as it had stopped working and this was the reason for the fridge to stop working. I paid $243.50 for this repair. Keep in mind that it only took 30 mins to replace and the part is only a $32.00 part. I did have a bit of a sticker shock when they handed me the bill but, I thought if my fridge was fixed I could live with that.
I waited the 24 hours for the fridge to get cold again putting a glass of water in the freezer as instructed by the repair guy, to make sure that it was working properly again. It did not Work! They came back out the next day only to tell me that it was the compressor and that they had to order the part and that it could take a week or two before it got here! How can we go two weeks with out a fridge??? The cost to replace it was $500, this was only for the labor it did not include the part which was still under warranty. This would bring the repair to $750. I had to think about this for a bit. Do I invest this amount of money into a fridge that is only 2 years old?
I decided to do some researching when I came across this site where I saw all of the same complaints as mine and on top of it, to my surprise the same day that all of this was happening my local news had a women on who had the SAME issue and she had been waiting FIVE weeks for the compressor to come in. The other problem is that they couldn't find anyone who would work on LG! I continued to research whether I should invest in my $2600 fridge or just get a new fridge! After digging online for answers here is what I did find out. A repair guy posted that YOU CANNOT replace the compressor on a fridge. It will only break down again. The reason for this is that once the compressor goes the entire system has been contaminated. The freon in the coils is no longer any good. You would have to replace everything and at that point you might as well get a new fridge.
This is something that no one will tell you. LG will misguide you and so will the repair guy that LG will send you to. I lost all of the food in my fridge. Lost the $243.50 for the first repair and had my two year old fridge hauled out of here when my NEW fridge arrived. I think LG is well aware of this compressor problem and they know that if they do a recall they will have to pay out a great deal of money. I am going to fight LG on paying me back for the spoiled food and for the initial repair. I also think that we need to get a class action suit against LG. They know there is a major problem and no one is doing anything about it!

My LG LFX31945ST French door fridge is 4 years old. It stopped cooling 2 weeks ago. A Sears LG licensed repairman gave us an estimate of $877 to replace the evaporator & main control board & was honest enough to tell me it wasn't worth fixing because we would continue to have issues with it. Lesson learned! Never buy LG!!!

Bought this $2600.00 LG refrigerator 1 1/2 years ago and of course it breaks 6 months after warranty expiration. There's only one servicer in our area. They came to diagnose the problem right away the week before July 4th and company is coming. They ordered the parts from LG but after no contact with them for days we finally called them and they inform us that the parts (Compressor and board) are on back order for 4 weeks (JULY 21st). The back order date is four weeks out!! And we lost over $50.00 in food. Thank god it wasn't more!!
We had to buy a Samsung floor model (Cheaper) to get us by and not lose more food. Every time I call to get an update because no one calls us back, I get a foreign speaking person I can hardly understand and placed on hold for 10-50 Minutes!!! I have been told that there are at least 9 people in our area (Valdosta Ga) with this exact same issue with their LG refrigerators!! This is not acceptable! There are a few in a worse circumstance than us, such as an elder couple that just had open heart surgery and no refrigerator now! A single mother with 5 children to feed. Now the only service company in our area doesn't seem to know where the board is and LG says it was delivered! The service center DDD in Albany/Adel says they use a different vender Marcone and it is on back order with them not LG?! WTH!

When you pay $3500 for an appliance you do NOT expect it to break down and require the same part (that cost $240 to have the repairman fix) every 6 months. We bought the L-G LMXC 23746 at Best Buy in June 2015. In November 2016 shortly after the 1 year warranty expired (of course!) we had to replace the Evaporator Fan Motor. Since that time every 6 months the refrigerator starts to make a loud hum and we know it is burning out, AGAIN! Every time the repair man comes it cost $70 for the part L-G EAU 61505014 (Motor, DC), $50 for a service call, and $110 for labor to replace the fan.
Clearly there is an issue with this LG product considering all the reviews citing the same problem. I thought there were laws to protect consumers from companies who make and sell DEFECTIVE products. But I guess we just have to keep paying $500 a year to fix it twice a year or invest thousands to replace a 2 year old appliance. NEITHER option is desirable! Disappointed with LG and with Best Buy for promoting this clearly DEFECTIVE product as a high-end REFRIGERATOR appliance.

I bought LG fridge in Nov. 2014. It was dead by the end of June. I'm not sure because the reading temp. at the door is still at 37/-2 degrees. I found out it was not working when all my food are rotten in the bottom freezer and smelly in the fridge. I called customer service on 7/10 who gave 2 repair service phone numbers. I contacted them and both didn't have any opening 'til next month. I called LG again, they gave me another 2 names. I asked if I can call any service that will offer earliest service. She said no because the service need to be LG authorized. I then called 1 of them. The tech came on 7/12 and found the compressor is ineffective. He charged $100 for trip/diagnose. If I have him repaired the fridge he will deduct this charge into the total labor which is $485.
I called the customer service again to see if they can reimburse me for the cost of the compressor so I can buy a new fridge instead of paying that much for repair. They said no and at this time they offer me the flat rate repair of $362 for one-time service 60-day warranty or $485/1 year. I asked them if I can use the tech who diagnosed the problem before, they said no because he is not authorized by LG. That's such a lie (They give me the referral). I asked why not offer me this at first. He said he didn't know. Anyway, I ordered the $362 repair and they charged up front. A confirmed email was sent and schedule for repair on7/17 between 8-12 pm. I took a day off to wait for them. Nobody showed up nor called. I called customer service. After being on hold for awhile, she said the service tech was behind so he couldn't make it.
Being asked what will they do to correct it, she said she will send email to higher department to find another service for me. She didn't offer refund nor feel sorry about the situation. I asked to talk to the manager (direct number was requested). I called only to talk to a rep. again, go through all issues again. He put me on hold for over 20' still no response. After reading all complaints about LG. I found out that all issues lead to one result that LG just tried to drive customer around and postponing the solution. I have tried several times to call the supervisor just to wait for 20'+. I tried to live chat, after being transferred to repair service dept., I waited there for 30' nobody responded. I emailed them only to get "sorry for your inconvenience, we will take your input to improve our service". No problem was solved.
Now I don't know what they plan to do on my repair order. No phone call nor email. I think I'm going to call the federal trade and general state attorney to report this issue. My first tech told me that don't be tricked by the long term warranty. LG and Samsung parts are very hard to find and easy to break. This is the worst appliance brand and customer service I have ever seen. I'm so upset that I spent that much money to buy this crap for over 2 years. I wonder why they still exist on the market. If I can give 0 star, I would.

It's tiring and I don't like camping out and buying food everyday. The warranty doesn't pay for your food that you have to buy every day and then what you have to refill your refrigerator and freezer, they only give you a minimum amount of money to refill up your refrigerator and freezer again. I have a refrigerator LG Model LFX31925ST, acquired in 2011 for about $3000. I never write negative reviews. I expect that from time to time products will eventually fail. That said, it's very disappointing when folks spend $3000 for a Refrigerator only to have it fail numerous times. Every time we have to wait for 2 weeks to get a technician to come diagnose the problem, order parts, wait another week or so to come back replace the parts, then 2 weeks later another part fails, wait another 2 weeks for another repair person to show up and so forth.
LG knows this, in fact they have known this for years. Maybe they should invest in hiring more repair people, redesign their product and only sell it when its ready to be put out to the consumer. I have a 22 year old GE refrigerator in my garage as a backup. Sadly to say I have used it more in the past 3 months than my 6 year old LG that I spent $3000 on. The latest problem that I have is that the refrigerator does not cool down below 62 degrees F. The freezer is working, had the compressor replaced 6 weeks ago. I expect as most consumers do, that when we spend this kind of money for a product that it would be fixed in a reasonable amount of time. 2 weeks to a month to get a repair person and the repair done is not acceptable. Until LG addresses these issues I have to give them a failing grade, both to the reliability of their product and their lack of response to the consumer when we need it.

We purchased an LG bottom freezer refrigerator on Nov. 17, 2014, model # LFD22786. In June 2017 we noticed the foods in the freezer had become soft and the fridge unit itself was not as cold as before. We called LG and they sent an LG repairman the next day. He deemed the unit unrepairable due to Freon leakage. Because we had already lost about $50 in perishables and some frozen foods we could not wait for the claim to be processed (approx. 5 business days) and decided to purchase a new one (another LG in fact!) while waiting for LG to determine a prorated refund for the now busted fridge.
As we don't live in a very big house we simply could not keep the old one and have the new one and asked that they haul away the old one when dropping off the new one. We thought we were doing the right thing especially knowing the pictures were taken by the repairman of the damaged unit, the back of the fridge and also the tag that is on the inside of the fridge.
We called LG 3 times since then and each time have been advised that our claim would not be honoured because we did not remove this tag from the inside of the refrigerator. We had told LG each time that we were not told to remove the tag and because they had a picture from the LG repairman we felt that this should have been proof enough but no. We did not follow their procedure. Well, if we had known we would be have but we could not do without refrigeration for another day.
What annoys me the most is that LG will not even meet us half way for reimbursement. I was assured by 2 LG representatives that the only reason they would not refund us is because no tag. I fail to understand this logic when it was their repairman who deemed the unit junk. We are technically out $1600, more or less. Up until now I had faith in LG but with them not even considering the refund of any sort is just beyond me. I am a very unhappy consumer. The place that we purchased this new LG fridge from (Lowe's) has offered to take it back, refund us the full amount what we paid for it and allow us to purchase another brand from their store. How wonderful is that??!! Lowe's knows that a happy customer is a repeat customer. Unfortunately LG does not. Life is not good.

I am not one to leave reviews for products... especially negative ones. But I have been so frustrated with our customer service at LG that I figured this was my only recourse. We have an LG refrigerator that is less than four years old. We paid about $2500 for it. We kept the one year warranty that came with it when we purchased it new. Within six months we had to use the warranty because something went wrong with the ice maker. It was frustrating that we had to wait about a week to get it fixed, but it was fixed with no cost to us as it was under warranty and all of the service and product was covered.
Since then, the middle plastic drawer in the freezer broke and we eventually ended up just removing it from the freezer. Most recently our ice maker stopped working and eventually the refrigerator stopped cooling. After making no less than six phone calls to customer service and following their trouble shooting, we finally had to call a local service provider. The problem was that we could not find anyone in our area who worked with LG. Literally every place we called stated that LG was difficult to work with and their systems were difficult to diagnose. We found an LG certified technician about 45 minutes away but they wanted $200 plus mileage to come out and look at it. (Our one year warranty was up, so the only parts covered were the compressor and coils. Service was no longer covered).
After making several more phone calls to LG, they told me that if I could find someone to look at it, then they would work with that technician to help us get it fixed. All I needed to do was to give them the contact information of the provider that we were going to use. Even after I did this, they told me that it would take 3-5 business days for them to approve the technician (at this point it has already been 4 weeks without use of our refrigerator). I asked for a supervisor and the policy was that they could not give me the direct number of a supervisor, that I had to wait for a phone call in return. I am a physician and do not have access to my phone during most of the day. When the supervisor did call back, she did not leave a return phone number, nor did she answer my question and instead, just reiterated that it would be 3-5 days for them to approve our technician.
When the technician did come out, he discovered that there was a blockage within the sealed system that was causing the Freon to not move freely throughout the unit. His recommendation was to junk our refrigerator because he would have to completely take apart the sealed system and stated that this was too difficult. In his words "no one in their right mind would take this apart and fix it" and left it up to me to deal with LG because of past experience, he would not work with them.
After more phone calls to LG and them refusing to provide me with the service department number (citing "privacy policy), their solution was to call an LG certified technician. So I was back to calling the person who charged $200 plus mileage (the only one I could find within 60 miles who would come look at it). When I spoke with the technician on the phone, they indicated that they do sealed system work because LG wants to uphold their warranty. It was going to be a minimum of $400 to take apart the refrigerator and could be up to $1200 because it was so labor intensive. Keep in mind, that I spoke to several technicians who stated that they would total it, but the LG certified technician was the only one who would do the work.
We have decided to just junk our refrigerator and buy a new one that is NOT LG. This is ridiculous because our fridge is less than 4 years old and we have already had these three major issues. In all of the phone calls to the LG customer service department, not once did I get any empathy or an apology for what we were dealing with. Not one customer service representative offered an alternative solution. They provided only barriers for us to get our refrigerator fixed. As I shared our story with our friends and family, we heard other experiences of very poor customer service and products through LG and we will never buy an LG product again.

LG Compressor complaint bought 3 years ago (brand new). 05/15/2017 - When I started filing a claim thru LG protection plan. I spoke to a male representative and mentioned that he will send someone to check the fridge. We briefly explained to him what's going on. That the fridge is not cooling and since my husband is a technician himself, he knows what's going on to the fridge. My husband mentioned that the compressor is not working. The rep sent us a part for relay which when the (First attempt) technician came over to fix it. He said that they sent the wrong parts. He said and will report to LG that it was the compressor that is broken.
We waited for the parts to be ordered. I called several times to follow up (month of May/June). The reps were telling me that the compressor is on its way and they have set up an appointment with the technician but the parts still hasn't arrive to the house. I even asked the representative if the technician will have the actual compressor because we haven't received it. She said if we didn't have it then the technician would probably have it. When the same technician arrived to the house (Second attempt), he doesn't have the parts and we don't have it as well. He ended up leaving without fixing it and recommended to call LG again.
I called and when I spoke to another representative, they said that it was on back order. How come they didn't explained it in the first place and sending the technician just to waste our time? I complaint to them and ended up talking to a supervisor who gave me a mini fridge that we picked up at a local Home Depot for the inconvenience because I told them that I'm pregnant and taking insulin which I appreciate them for accommodating me.
When I called and spoke to the technician. He mentioned that when it's 40 days and still cant find the parts that probably we will be reimbursed. I called on the 40th day. That is June 26th. That same day the compressor came in the morning and my mother received it. However I was not home at the time so I asked him if he will schedule the service. The representative I spoke to said that he can't schedule it for some reason in his system and told me to call an 800-243-0000 number to schedule the service. When I called this number, they couldn't locate my claim nor can't find me on the file. The person I spoke to said that I have to call LG back to get this situated.
Then they schedule me with Precision services who message since 06/28/2017 and said that they will schedule the service and we will get a call. Several text reminders received until on 06/29/2017 a text message came and said they are ready to schedule the service. Still there's no live person that I can talk to when they are coming. On 06/30/17; they message me again and wants me to explain briefly what the situation is. Instead of texting them I called them instead and was able to talk to someone who scheduled the service on 7/7/2017.
Finally the tech came in the morning and my husband called me at work and said that the technician didn't fix it and just troubleshoot the problem about the compressor. He even said that why sent him there when they know that they have to send a LG manufacturing license technician who can fix the compressor. I got so furious and upset. I called them on 7/7/2017 and spoke to the supervisor, Angel who promised that someone within 4 hours will call me and schedule the service but no one called.
I called this Morning and spoke to another supervisor named Chase who stated that there's a service provider that can do it and it's near our location and will request it however, considering it's the weekend that they might be closed. He said that I have to wait 1 business day. I told him I was told if they couldn't locate anyone to fix our fridge to just reimburse us. We have been waiting for so long. It's going to be almost 2 months without a fridge. Several calls has made and they didn't even call us back for the status. I have to constantly call them what happened to the back order parts, when finally we receive the parts, asking them when the technician will fix it.
Now, they couldn't locate a license technician who can fix our LG fridge and still I have to wait. They're explaining that it has to be license LG manufacturing which I totally understand. If they know the problem, they should have located a technician long time back. I have this on file, the other technician informed them the problem since beginning of June. We are now in July and still no resolution. I will wait again on Monday for a phone call which is not for sure if they will find a technician and still by then he is still not sure what will be the resolution to the problem. They keep on promising and misleading the customer.
What kind of LG protection is this, this should have been handled smoothly. When you have protection services, they should have a good contact technician that is license to fix with this kind of problem and not let the customer have false hope, give reason to wait and still be disappointed. Sorry doesn't cut the chase and we're still inconvenience with this problem. I'm pregnant and stressing me so much. I don't know what else I can do to resolve my issue and I'm writing a complaint and hoping that someone from LG Company resolve this issue as soon as possible. I saw LG compressor complaints online and has 1840 which I don't know if they resolve it. They should at least pay attention to this issues.

2013 LG 3-Door French Refrigerator, out of warranty. Ice maker quit, replaced. Still no ice. Makes cubes but have to manually cycle the ice maker. Fridge only cools to 50 degrees, freezer only to 22. Cleaned coils, cleaned connectors, checked wiring. Compressor hot, fans running. No obstructions to air vents & ducts. Feel "cool" air blowing out. What an overpriced, short lifespan POS. I will bet that the 15 year old GE side-by-side that was replaced is still working great. LG... NEVER AGAIN.
Updated on 7/21/2017: Jaime of Sears Appliance Repair came by to diagnose the fridge today 7/19/2017. 4 year old LG French 3 Door Refrigerator Model #LFX25991ST/02 TL;DR... DON'T BUY LG! READ THE REVIEWS! The original issue was the ice maker would freeze cubes but not automatically harvest them. The tray would fill, cubes would freeze and I could manually run the harvest cycle but 2 trays per day (one morning and one night) was not a serviceable solution. I replaced the ice maker and same problem. After further reading, I measured the compartment temperatures and both the fridge & freezer were a bit too warm even at max cooling settings on the door. So the ice maker sensor never got a cold/frozen signal to harvest the cubes.
Fridge was @ approximately 50 degrees and freezer approximately 25 degrees (will still freeze cubes) measured with a Harbor Freight digital thermometer. This was checked dozens of times by me in the weeks prior to calling for service as I tried to troubleshoot the problem by cleaning the coils, checking for obstructions to air flow, check for anything burnt, broke or otherwise defective... Removing the freezer contents and all drawers and popping off the rear cover panel we saw only a little icing on the freezer coils area. Jaime said that there should be even icing on all the coils. Mine had icing only on the top row pointing to a weak compressor. The repair would be in the $500-$1000+ range. And even if it was repaired, there was no guarantee that it would be permanent and last. Even replacing *every* part would not guarantee success as there could be a leak or obstruction in the lines "inside the refrigerator walls" and they are not repairable.
Looks like a new fridge is in order. Jaime had five LG repairs on the schedule for today! Don't waste your hard earned money on LG! This one was 4 years and one month old to the day. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT waste your hard earned money and valuable time on an LG. They are notorious for blown compressors and major issues requiring the totaling of the refrigerator and repurchasing a new one. This one has cost me $3030 (refrigerator) + $174 (service calls) + $150 (ice maker) for 4 years and one month of use. LGone of the biggest POS and worst appliance investments ever.

It will be at least two months before a compressor is through production and shipped from Korea.
For all of you experiencing compressor failure PLEASE CONTACT THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION AND YOUR STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE. This is obviously a recall situation but they won't do that. For all of you being told your repairman can't fix your refrigerator, that is not true, there simply are no parts available and when that is the case LG is in breach of their warranties and would be forced to issue you a refund or replace on your purchase, they are giving you the run around to avoid having to pay. When I called for repair LG recommended the Premium Repair Service Plan saying for $338 it would cover the cost of repair no matter what the issue. They then set up an appointment for repair. The repairman said he needed to order the compressor. That's when the run around began. First the repairman had to get authorization just to order the part. Excuse me!! This was the authorized repairman that they sent out. What's with them needing to authorize this? It took a week to get authorization. Then it was ordered. It is now going on 2 months and there is not even an estimated time of arrival for this part. I have called LG who then tells me "So sorry for the inconvenience but the part is ordered. It will be 3-5 days." I call them after 7 days only to be given the same spiel.
I call the repairman who says same thing. I am getting nowhere with either of them. I wrote to LG explaining the problem as I don't get anywhere with them on the phone, only to have them say they are sorry for the inconvenience but it is Assurance, the company that they contracted with for "better service options", that I need to be in touch with. However Assurance tells me that it is LG that is the problem because they have to use LG parts in keeping with the warranty. So I am stuck with no refrigerator while LG took my money for nothing so far. As we all can see this company doesn't seem to be concerned with keeping customers as its customer service sucks and they don't care. I don't know what it's going to take to get them to help us. Maybe a huge class action will get their attention.

I requested for LG to come and fix my refrigerator since the 15th of June. It is over 2 weeks and I am still waiting for an answer. I would advise that no one should ever buy any appliance from LG. Their customer service is terrible. I do not wish for anyone to live for one month without a refrigerator. Now they are telling me that I will hear back in 20 more days. I wish they go out of business for good for lying to customers...

I bought this French 4 door LG refrigerator and just one month after the one year labor warranty expired the compressor stopped working. It cost me $450 for the labor repair. Although the parts were still under warranty, I was required to purchase one part anyway, even though the part was not broken. Yes. That's what I said. The broken part that was broken was covered, but I was required to purchase and have installed a part that was not broken, but for some reason needed to be replaced. The saddest thing about the episode is the short life of their newest compressor technology. I feel ripped off, and I plan to avoid purchasing LG products in the future.

I bought this model (LSXS26326S) back in 2015, yes this come with 1 year warranty. June 2017, with no clue its just stop being refrigerator, ice not produce, not cool only one thing works is lighting. Called customer service right away, they question me if I have warranty? Yes 1 year warranty. If this case happens 10-20 years later it means this refrigerator already do their jobs, but only 2 years? Don't you think it something wrong might happen with their production? It's not like you bought a car, which is depending on how fast you drive, how aggressive you drive, care taking. But refrigerator what I only do is "put food into refrigerator" that's it.
This refrigerator cost 1.5 k not some hundred dollar. I made a decision to purchase LG brands because I think that I could TRUST them. LG team gave me time to fix this on July 29th which is I could not accept this. I would like to get a same new working refrigerator or higher immediately or full refund so I can buy a refrigerator to keep my food cold and because I feel like I pay too much for this refrigerator that only working for 2 years. LG CASE NO. : **. They put me on Live Chat and waiting about 30 minutes and end up with screen was refreshing by itself and back to beginning again. Buy another brand.

I've had a tech out 4 times already looking at my fridge that is only 8 months old. They replaced a compressor still not working. Now replacing two evaporator and maybe it will be fixed. It's been 6 weeks since my fridge has worked. How long is a person supposed to live out of a cooler after spending 2600 dollars on a fridge and it didn't last 8 months before going out. To people they sent out to repair it are screwing me around like I'm not a big enough money making job to worry about. I call LG and they are totally useless. I should just talk to a brick wall I may get more out of it. Totally frustrated and can't get a hold of anyone higher up to talk to. I will never buy another product from them again.

Worst mistake I've made, buying LG refrigerator Model LFX25976ST French door, freezer on bottom and ice cube and water dispenser in the door. Within the first year the ice make was giving me problems and after numerous service calls and complaints, I finally had to pay to have it replaced. Now mind you, this the 7th year of owning this piece of crap. In not quite 7 years I've four service calls, including one where I had to replace the intake valve for the water at the bottom rear of the refer. And another service charge and parts charge. Now it's becoming a money pit. Here I am 4 months short of 7 years owning this refer. And the compressor goes bye bye, This time it's a $65.00 service call to tell me that it would cost me another $1,569.00 to replace it.
Now I've had enough. Went out and bought a new refrigerator and am hopeful that it's going to be a better experience than the piece of ** LG that I had! My recommendation is to never buy a LG product. The service tech was very happy, a five minute call and made $65.00 for it. He said the letters on the refrigerator should read GL in stead of LG standing "GOOD LUCK" and I believe he was right. Anyone that buys any LG Product deserves what they get.

Bought a LG refrigerator, had problems from day one with the ice maker... Now it's not cooling or freezing. Called the "so called" customer service and they offered 2 options. Hahahaha! I could pay 400.00 for a one time fix or 600.00 for a one time fix with a year warranty. We opt for the 400.00 one time fix. Come to find out we can't get anyone that will work in this piece of crap for 400.00. LG did not tell us this, we found this out on our own. The company that LG supposedly set our appointment with told us they would not touch it for 400.00 or 600.00. They say it sounds to be the compressor which is an all day job. Long story short... We have a six year old French door LG refrigerator, $2,700 purchased at Home Depot. It stopped cooling fridge and freezer. A local repair man told me it was the compressor and that he didn't work on LG refrigerators. I called the customer service number in the owner's manual. The sealed system has a parts warranty for seven years and the compressor has a parts warranty for 10 years.
When I called them, I told them that my compressor or sealed system was bad as the repair guy had told me. They acted like it was no problem and sold me a repair package for $459.00. They said that would include the repair and a year warranty on the repair. I said great and bought it. They send out the first guy after waiting several days. He said after a few minutes, the compressor is bad and he had to order the part. Well, after several days I hear that he is not coming back to fix it so now I have to wait several more days for LG to send someone else.
Another guys shows up and says compressor bad, I'm like "yeah I know that". He says "we will order the parts and it will take several days to get it". He gives me a card and receipt and is on his way. I wait days and never hear anything. I call the number in his card, they say "we don't fix LG compressors". This is the same story that I got from the first one and this time I told LG to only send out a service that could fix it because I already knew that was the issue and they should have too since the first guy didn't want to fix it. So this time I was livid.
They sent someone else that refused to fix it probably because LG will not pay them enough to fix it. LG continued to give me a runaround after they sold me this repair service for labor on what should be parts under warranty. Not to mention the fact that they screwed me around for three weeks sending their two chosen repairmen out who then refused to fix it but LG was not straightforward on that.
I got the same BS story that I read in some other reviews that they say they don't have a repair person in my area. I told them that I live right outside of Houston and if you don't have a repair person in my area then you don't have one anywhere. They then said they would refund my repair purchase minus $100 for a service call fee. I was more livid!
At this point I had been out of a refrigerator for over three weeks. We are a family of six with four children. It was our only refrigerator. We were living out of a mini fridge out of our attic and coolers! They did not care one bit. As I figured out that this was going to be a process, I went to Lowe's and purchased a basic Whirlpool refrigerator for my garage. After threatening them with BBB and lawsuit, they refunded me my full purchase price of the repair package they sold me. I asked how they get away with not fulfilling their parts warranty. They offered me a "one time" chance to call my own repair man and I could call in or email his info to them and they would authorize him to get the parts under warranty but of course then I start over on service calls, fees and labor charges and I'm sure, more runaround with LG sending the parts that my repair guy would need to fix it.
I am so done with dealing with them. From the other reviews I read, I'm lucky that my fridge lasted six years! I paid $2,700 for this refrigerator and we have kept it in perfect condition but now it is an expensive nice looking nonworking piece of junk! They are a horrible company. I called local repair companies and many don't even work on LG or Samsung refrigerators. They say their systems are too complicated and awful. I will never ever buy an LG again. I will not purchase Samsung either after what I have read and found out from repairmen.
We have been operating out of the one I purchased for the garage and I am researching what to buy to replace my $2,700 LG. Awful, awful, horrible company for customer service!!! I will be purchasing Whirlpool/KitchenAid or maybe GE. It is really unbelievable what they put me through in this process and they do not care one little bit. I am a stay at home mom so I could be around without taking time off work but total and complete runaround and they lie non stop to you. They do not care about you one little bit and wouldn't care if you did have to take off work to deal with their scam and it is a scam!

First time I have ever felt compelled to write a review but after reading through so many here and having the worst experience I've ever had with a Customer "Service" group I really need to. For the reviewer who said they took a day off to be home for a confirmed (via email) service appointment that was a no-show cancellation because LG never actually had a repair person confirmed - the exact same thing happened to me two weeks ago today... I even called that morning 3 hours into my 4 hour window to verify and was told someone was en route only to find out when I called 90 minutes later I was only then told that the appointment was "canceled". I later spoke with the repair facility and they told me they had declined the job because they didn't have availability!
Seems I'm luckier than most that my LG fridge has gone 8 years without incident. 16 days ago my wife opened it in the morning and it was totally dead. No lights, no compressor, just no power. The outlet tested fine but the lack of lights pointed to it being electrical. I called the toll free number for LG on the inside of fridge and the person seemed helpful enough; Said it probably needed a new motherboard, but because it was out of warranty he would need my credit card details and for $361 we could get this fixed. That's cheaper than a new fridge so I gave him what I needed and they were certainly very expedient in putting the charge on my credit card!
I started to look around on the internet to see if any other reports of this issue and if the fridge could in fact be saved and learned that this whole issue likely stemmed from a small, blown 15 amp fuse... A part that LG soldered into the motherboard rather than put in a easily bracket for easy replacement that could be purchased for about 25 cents.
After the no-show appointment, LG Customer Service said they would give the job to another repair facility. They put me on hold, came back a few minutes later and told me they had left them a voicemail and they gave me the phone number and told me that I was free to reach out to them too. I phoned, and left a voicemail around midday that Friday and never received a callback. Over the weekend I phoned and left another voicemail to give them my cell # as well as I'd be back at work on Monday and that would be the best number to reach me.
By midday on Monday I still had not gotten a call. I did call the number through from the email confirmation the previous week and got a speaking person who gave me the true story on the "canceled" appointment and told me they could see me on Wednesday afternoon. Confirmed it with them and asked them to contact LG and that I would do the same to let them know that their other company doesn't appear to exist and they need to reassign it to the original technician they schedule. I called LG and was on the phone on hold for most of the time for almost an hour. After an hour and 20 minutes I was disconnected and nobody called me back (all this time I'm at work and doing LG's work for them!). I called LG back on my way home and the told me all was good to go.
Repairman comes on Wednesday (approximately 1 week since no fridge/contacting LG) after I take a half day to be home and the diagnosis is a blown fuse. Great, but despite it being known from the onset that the motherboard needs to be replaced he doesn't have the part, but they do have 2 in their warehouse and will work with the warranty company on the formalities to try and replace by Friday. No appointment gets made, Repair Service says they're waiting on LG to approve. I call LG and they tell me another Department can't make the appointment as the Repair Service's schedule isn't available online. I call the Repair Service and they tell me nonsense, they're getting scheduling confirmations from them right now. I call LG back, they tell me they're now waiting on the Claims Department to approve the part, a process that can take up to 3 business days (this despite charging me almost $400 to replace the part over a week ago).
Monday this week comes and I have no phone call, and no appointment. I call LG back and again more being put on hold but now the explanation is we're waiting on the part to come in. They couldn't answer me when their Claims Dept approved this so we arrived to this step, nor why we couldn't have had the repair facility (a LG contracted provider!) use one of theirs. They have in stock but I'm starting to feel this whole thing is shady. They told me refrigerator repairs are given priority status (a joke!) and that my simple repair was being given a priority to be remedied this week.
I called LG back 2 days later (Wednesday, 2 weeks of no fridge and first contact with LG) having not heard back from them and was told that the system shows that I was told that I would be contacted by Friday at the latest if the part had not arrived. I lost my patience at that point and told them I was not told the part coming in would take a full week and that I was instead told that my repair would be a priority to be completed this week and how could we be waiting on a part we knew it needed from the onset, that is readily available to purchase online at a fraction of what I'm being charged, and that their repair service was in possession of 2 of them.
I told them that rather than trying to bilk a few extra dollars of profit on this 5 minute repair job by using the cheapest available board they can assign in their system they really need to make this a customer resolution case as it's been 2 weeks and I need to speak with someone who can look at this absurd situation and make an actual decision to get it fixed. They tell me they will try to forward me to a supervisor to see if they can help.
After 10+ minutes on hold the person I was speaking with comes back online and tells me the repair appointment has been made for between 8 AM and 12 PM tomorrow. I thought someone in charge realized and was acting in customer-retention mode until they told me it was not the repairman who had seen me a week ago that would be coming but the one who never returned my 2 voicemails. I asked to confirm for certain he's bringing the board and fully prepared for the appointment to make the repair and am told is the case.
I take another half day from work, and the repairman shows up early and when I let him in my house I half-jokingly say to him, "Please tell me you have the board" and he looks at me with no clue and says he didn't bring anything, the work-order he got only said "LG Refrigerator - not cooling". He's almost as angry as I am that he wasn't told the fridge was totally dead of electric and that another technician had already been here and made the diagnosis. I felt bad for him as he came from a good distance away in the teeth of rush hour having been told to make my call a priority but a total waste of his time and mine.
At this point I called LG and just lost it with them and essentially told them their Out of Warranty purchase had to be some kind of scam bordering on criminality as there is no way a real business enterprise could be this incompetent! I was told my account was being escalated to their real Resolution people (i.e. the ones tasked with explaining the inexcusable) and it would take 24 to 48 business hours for one of them to contact me and no doubt the buffer is in hopes that I'm much calmer.
I have a family of 4 that's been living out of a cooler on my kitchen floor the last 16 days and running out every other night for a new 16 LBS bag of ice. I had to invest in a chest freezer for my garage so that we had some kind of food for my kids on-hand. I've burned 2 full days off from work and have easily spent more than 3 hours on the phone during business hours on hold with LG. And my fridge is still not fixed, and no appointment in sight for someone to come here and essentially unplug 5 little plugs and then plug the 5 little plugs into the new board. And they charged me almost $400 for this level of service when I could have gotten a new board for $120 and done this myself.
I think LG right now on the service front is trying to milk the last nickel of profit on these out of warranty purchases on the assumption it will be the last nickel they see from these customers. Perhaps a self-fulfilling prophecy experiences like this will make a reality. Maybe the US market isn't working out for LG Appliance as it doesn't seem like their heart is in it for the long-haul.

They want your money, they couldn't care less about you.
I have this piece of ** refrigerator and the ice maker always (in literal terms: 9 days out of 10) freezes up and you have to pull out the ice maker, stab the chute with a knife to break up the ice cluster and it spreads the ice cubes all over the kitchen because it takes force to get it out. You have to cut in the tiny gap between the pull-out device and the door to sever the ice dam, then pull... to the point where you think the plastic will break... the ice maker out. It explodes in a shower of ice cubes that fling all over your kitchen. All that water/ice is wasted, you are MORE THAN PISSED OFF constantly and you never have access to anything but floor-ice. I would never recommend any product by this manufacturer because they simply don't care. I was told..."You bought it. Figure out how to use it the best in your house". Also, their water filters are ridiculously priced. I hope the manager of their support catches dick cancer and dies in front of his own mother.

We have purchased an LG refrigerator that is less than a year old. We reported an issue that when you shut one door the other door pops open. While fridge still technically worked, this isn't supposed to happen (especially with amount we paid); it also affects the ice and temperature and ruined food. We have had two other brands of fridges (Frigidaire and GE) for over 20+ years and this one we can only speak of in terms of months. It is not energy efficiency and does not work properly. We reported the issue to LG and they sent their own technician. (This is after we tried the online tips to lean fridge as far back as possible, etc.) The technician came and did not even touch fridge. When we told him issue he said it was a 'design flaw' and to contact a specific number. We called and they said they would get back to us within 24 hours - spoiler alert and first warning sign, they did not.
A few days later I called customer service. The person was helpful and gave me a supervisor number to contact the following day. I did and they set up another appointment which I was told would be the last because they would make sure their own technician fixed it. The technician no-showed. I was persistent and called LG multiple times. In total the technician no showed three times. I used four vacation days and my fridge does not work properly. My customer service was mixed - in fact, one person emailed and said "This can happen with top mounts because of the way the duct work is set up." followed by "The customer just needs to push on both doors to make sure they are closed all the way before walking away." To me, this wasn't an acceptable response after multiple contacts and only a few mere months of ownership.
Half of my customer service responses were terrible in tone and service. I was constantly pushed off and told to just schedule another appointment. I contacted customer service over 12 times, not including the four appointments, three of which LG no-showed after a 5 hour waiting block for appointment time. There were also several times - at least 3 (not including appointments) in which LG said they would follow up with me and never did. We can only talk about our LG product in terms of months. Our other fridges were a Frigidaire and GE unit which lasted 20 years and 22 years respectively. This LG fridge has only lasted a few months. In fact, it's basically only worth the $50 my electric company will give me under their program to encourage replacement of energy inefficient units. I would not recommend this product or the customer service.
I have copies of my contact, emails, and chat responses and summaries of my phone calls as I plan on following up. What good is a fridge door that makes another one open when you shut it? Apparently this is a common issue that LG has yet to address or fix but just keeps pushing down the line. I hope we can prevent other people from making the same mistake. If I can edit the post after submitting, I will share some of the poor customer service responses and a video of the issue, but I wanted to submit this as soon as possible.

7-11-15 Called the service center again and had to explain everything that I explained twice the night before. After requesting to run the “Smart Diagnostic” I was placed on hold then performed the diagnostic. After a delay they informed me that the diagnostic did not come through and we had to do it again. Once that went through I asked what it showed and was told that they did not know, that someone from the technical staff had to review it. They told me that they could schedule a technician to come out to the house on Tuesday afternoon on 7-/14/15 but there would be a $120.00 service call charge plus the cost of any parts. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and they asked me what that was about.
Finally after going back and forth with them I was placed on hold for about 12 minutes before a supervisor identified as ** came on the line. She asked what the problem was and then placed me on hold while she brought up my file on her computer. That took another 5 plus minutes. Finally after explaining everything to her about the previous night and current call she placed a one-time extended warranty on the unit and gave me an authorization number of: **. She advised that she could get a technician out on Tuesday afternoon 7/14/15 and when I told her that I had one already scheduled for 7/13/15 she confirmed it. This call was then terminated after 58 minutes and 11 seconds.
7-13-15 Contacted by service technician at 3:12 PM who advised that he would be arriving in about 20 minutes. He asked what I thought was wrong with the unit and I replied that I thought that the compressor had gone bad. I explained the temperature readings and the noise it was making. He stated that if it was in fact a bad compressor that he could not fix it today as he did not have one with him and would have to order one. He arrived at 3:38 PM, removed the lower back grill panel to access the compressor and noticed a lot of dust on the evaporator coils. I asked him if I was supposed to remove the rear access grille to try and clean the coils and he advised against it stating that it could damage the vanes on the coils.
He went back out to his truck to get his gauges and checked the compressor which he determined was bad. He advised that he was fully booked for tomorrow, Tuesday, 7/14/15 but would press his schedule and plug me in on the end of the day. He departed at 4:04 PM advising that he would call when he was on his way out to replace the compressor. 7-14-15 Around 1:23 PM service technician ** called to advise he was on his way. Compressor delivered via FEDEX this afternoon and left at the garage door. Technician arrived at 1:30 PM, completed compressor swap and departed at 3:30 PM.
06-04-16 Noticed that items inside the refrigerator were not as cold and normal that that on several occasions milk and dairy products were spoiling before the “Best if Used By” dates. The inside temperature of unit felt cool and not cold. Placed thermometer inside the refrigerator portion of the unit and began taking readings. Also noticed that freezer unit was not as cold as it should be also. Placed thermometer inside the freezer unit and began taking readings as well. Temperature settings on the panel are set the same as the technician left them on his last visit on 7/14/15. Refrigerator set to 34 degrees and freezer set to -1 degrees.
06-05-16 At 9:00 AM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 48 degrees on a dial-type thermometer and freezer showing 5 degrees on a digital thermometer. 06-05-16 At 3:00 PM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 50 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 8 degrees on a digital thermometer. 06-05-16 At 9:30 PM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 46 degrees on a dial-type dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 7 degrees on a digital thermometer. 06-06-16 At 10:00 AM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 48 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 8 degrees on a digital thermometer.
06-06-16 At 11:32 AM called LG toll free number (800-243-0000) received recording and sent link for self-diagnostic. Performed self-diagnostic as per link and advised to contact LG repair at (866-558-2559). Refrigerator was showing 50 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 6 degrees on a digital thermometer.
06-06-16 At 12:10 PM called LG toll free number and automated system advised they would call back within the next two hours. At 12:15 PM was connected to a Customer Service Rep in the Philippines. I requested several times to be connected to an American Customer Service Rep in the United States but was told three times that there were no US representative at their location. After my fourth attempt I was placed on hold. At 12:18 PM the Philippine rep came back on the line and advised that they did not have a US contact number. I requested to speak to a supervisor and when queried as to why I explained that I wanted to speak to a US rep and that her service center should have a number. She put me on hold again.
At 12:21 PM she came back on the line to advise she will transfer me to a supervisor. At 12:27 transferred to ** in the Alabama office. After trying to explain my issues with her she placed me on hold several times explaining they are using new software programs and have glitches. She is trying to plug in the extended warranty on the unit. She returned on the line to advise that she had scheduled the technician ** to come out between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM under Authorization Number **. She further advised that this authorization included the service call plus parts and labor. ** also provided a direct number to the Alabama Service Center at **. The telephone contact was terminated after 50 minutes and 47 seconds at 1:00 PM.
06-07-16 At 11:15 AM received call from Service Tech who advised that he would be out within the next 15 – 30 minutes. He arrived at 11:35 and performed a refrigeration pressure check on the system. He stated that it appeared there is a leak at one of the coil joints where the copper joins the aluminum. He indicated that the High Side pressure dropped 30 psi with no movement on the Low Side and that indicates a leak somewhere in the system. He further stated that much drop could indicate only a ½ charge or less of coolant presently in the system. He explained that there was a company issue with ordering parts to have them overnighted to the customer.
Lately the parts have been shipped to him which delays service. He stated that the parts he needs will be overnighted to me and should be here NLT 10:30 AM tomorrow, Wednesday, June 8th. He has scheduled an appointment for Thursday at 1:00 PM just to be safe and at present he only has one appointment for tomorrow. If I receive the parts tomorrow morning I am to give him a call and he will work me into his Wednesday schedule.
He indicated that the job would take several hours to complete (Of note: He asked me if I was removing the rear access panel to blow out dust and vacuum the coil area. I told him that on 7-13-15 I asked him if I was supposed to remove the rear access grille to try and clean the coils and he advised against it stating that it could damage the vanes on the coils. He told me that he did not say that, that he highly recommends the customer remove the rear access grille and try to blow out the dust and debris, then vacuum the debris up, just being careful not to get near the vanes or coils.). After placing the order for the parts to be shipped/overnighted here he departed at 12:05PM.
06-08-16 At unknown time, received call from Service Technician to advise that the FedEx tracking indicated that the parts he had ordered had arrived. I confirmed that and he indicated that he would be arriving sometime around 11:00 AM. He had ordered both a refrigerator coil and the freezer coil which had arrived and be commenced disassembling the inside of the refrigerator to swap out the refrigerator coil which he felt had a small leak on one of the connections. After steaming ice off of the end or the coil he replaced it with the new one. He then checked the pressurization on the lines and said that he was satisfied with the as it did not appear there were any leaks. After checking other things in the unit he packed up and departed advising that he would check back to see how the unit was performing.
06-09-16 At 8:52 AM received a call from Service Technician, who was checking on the performance of the unit. I advised him that it did not appear to be cooling as he had predicted, that the freezer was in the teens and the refrigerator in the lower 40’s. He advised me to keep a check on it and he would schedule me for the first of the week. 06-12-16 At 3:14 PM received a call on answering machine from Service Technician who advised that he has me scheduled for Tuesday, 6-13-16 between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
06-13-16 At 2:07 PM received a call from Service Tech who advised he would be here within the next 10 - 15 minutes to check on the unit again. He arrived at approximately 2:25 PM and proceeded to first blow out the dust that had accumulated under the unit and on the coils which was minimal. He then began to test the system refrigerant and determined that it was not up to capacity. He then vacuumed the lines and added some additional Freon. He advised that it appeared that there was a little water in the line which he was able to purge. He indicated that the unit should work fine at this point with the cooling in the refrigerator set to 34 degrees and the freezer set to 0 degrees. I told him that I would continue to take temperature readings in both the refrigerator and freezer and if I noticed them not performing I would call him and let him know. After about 1 ½ hours of work he departed.
06-14-16 At 8:53 AM received a call from Service Technician asking how the unit was performing. I texted him back at 11:39 AM advising that the refrigerator was at 37 degrees and the freezer was at 9 degrees. At 12:15 PM Service Technician called again to advise that he had mistakenly had a parts order sent to our house and wanted to know if was OK for him to come by and pick it up. I advised that it was not a problem. He asked about the refrigerator and I advised him that I would continue to monitor the temperatures several times during the day and evening for the next few days to see if the system performs as expected and would advise him of results. He advised that he will continue to check up on it and would be calling periodically.
On 05-24-17 we returned home from an extended vacation to discover that the ice maker was not producing ice. Door was dispensing water but there was no ice in the door-side ice maker and therefore nothing to dispense. On 06-05-17 At 12:18 PM I contacted the Executive Offices in Alabama at ** to explain the issue I was having with the ice maker not working. The person I spoke with, whose name I failed to get, advised me that she would give me the number of the local service center to schedule an appointment for a technician to come out and diagnose the problem. There would be charges for the technician to come out, charges for the diagnostic, charges for parts and labor since the unit was past its one year warranty and had already been given a one- time courtesy and she was not going to issue another one. I was basically out of luck but could get it fixed through the technician with service call charges plus parts and labor.
While the service technician was very personable and professional, that is the only thing good I can say about me experience with this company. The technician even told me on several occasions during his visits that the parts "i.e. compressors, etc" were inferior and the technicians were having all kinds of problems with them. With the experience that I have had in dealing with this company, I doubt that I will every purchase anything else with the LG label.

We purchased an LG Refrigerator in 2014, Model LFX#31925, we had to replace the ice maker within 3 months. A year later we are experiencing freezing problems with the freezer as well as the ice maker not working again. The product is out of warranty and LG will replace parts such the compressor or the condenser, but no labor will be paid. My point is you pay $2500 for a product and you get less than ever. We have a 20 year old GE Fridge which works better than the LG. It appears the repair service department will need to remove our unit to fix it and we will be without a fridge while it is being repaired.
It appears globalization has done nothing to improve the quality of products. It is time we stop charging more for less, it is downright robbery to the people who put their trust in reviews which most of the time are not accurate. When I see all the complaints against LG, I think it is time to let people know. There are so many companies that LG makes appliances for as well and this should be disclosed. I must say do not buy LG, Life is not Good, their products are not worth the price you pay for them. I do not wish to hurt the distributor who we bought the unit from, they are good people, just know the product I am discussing is poorly made.

Redid my kitchen and went to BrandsMart and bought a complete LG kitchen package, Worst quality product ever. After about 2 or 3 months the fan stops working so we call Brandsmart. Worst customer service ever. They should be ashamed, the guy came out and didn't even have the proper equipment with him to de-ice the fan. My husband had to loan him the equipment. P.S. it works for about 6 months then stops working again so we call Brandsmart again. The guy comes out and resets the refrigerator by unplugging it and plugging it back it, of course that didn't work.
I call LG who sends out their own technician who said it was the motherboard. That gets replaced, only to work another 2 months. Now they are replacing the compressor and the two evaporators. I am out of manufacture warranty but LG is covering the labor cost but are giving me a hard time. I requested a new refrigerator and a refund and who knows if that is going to happen. This whole process has been like pulling teeth, I have also been without a refrigerator twice, for 3 weeks each time. They are also giving me a one time food loss credit. Don't know how much, but I think a class action lawsuit is in order, the anxiety and stress dealing with the stupid techs and the customer service is too much. I don't think I can do this a 5th time. The refrigerator is only one year old now.

I have been trying to replace a broken shelf support in my 10 year old refrigerator. The part should cost about $20 and without it, the $2500 refrigerator can barely be used. I have found the part number and contacted everyone on the internet that claims to have one. One parts person told me that they had several in stock in past years but this was a high demand item and they could not get anymore. Universally I was told that the part is no longer available.
I finally got through directly to LG customer service and (after being disconnected twice), was informed that LG does not make or keep parts past 7 years after a product was made. Nor did they have a substitute for it. They said I should call any local parts companies to see if they might have one lying around. I explained that no one has this in stock and asked to speak to a supervisor. The rep took my information and assured me that I would hear from a supervisor within 1 hour. That was two days ago. I have had a problem with a different (small) LG product in the past, but cannot believe how little they support their customer base. There is no way I could recommend to anyone that they should try this company's products.

I purchased an LG refrigerator double door, bottom freezer ice maker and it's non working after only 6 months and have called repeatedly for service... it's under warranty. They first sent someone out that doesn't even work on refrigerators and now going into week 3 saying they will call in 2 business days to schedule. And the more I called it's now 3 to 5 business days just to get an appointment set which hasn't happened yet! I've thrown out hundreds of dollars in food! I never have bought LG in the past. Always stuck with Samsung and I should have not ever switched brands... lesson learned.
I feel like since they can't get a service person out here a full replacement should be in order and when I said I DID want to do a survey I was never given that call. When I told the man on the phone I wanted to make a complaint... he said, "Ma'am other than it not working what do you need to complain about?" And did not send me to another extension to even do that or take a formal complaint himself. What the heck is with this company. I will NEVER buy this brand again in any product...

My daughter and I bought a house with new appliances, (LG) the refrigerator worked for 9 months but it was three months old when we started using it. When it failed, we called LG and they said "it is out of warranty, you can hire an independent technician or hire us to diagnose the appliance." We hired someone who said it had a defective piece from fabrication. We called back to LG, they said they will repair for $400 where they will include the defective piece. I paid ($400) and they sent their technician who came and in a 5 minutes visit he said he came just to learn what was the problem, he would be back (one month already in this process). The next days we received a phone call from LG saying they wouldn't repair it because someone already put their hands on it and that we can expect $200 hundred refund (from my $400 I just paid) because the visit costs $200.
How sad, how unfair, with my daughter a young person struggling to pay her bills receiving a treatment like this one. Now she has been more than a month with no refrigerator, lost the money she paid for the first technician and again the same amount by having LG putting their hands into her account in such a way. Their only suggestion is to buy a new one. Can I expect a little of justice for my daughter? I m planning to write a letter to the CEO but I know the chances for him to never read it are higher that the opposite. I hope you can do something about it.

I spent almost $3000 on my fridge in Jan. of 2015. Last week it slowly stopped cooling, we didn't notice at first and then last Friday I realized it was barely cold. Started checking all the food and most was bad. We hadn't been home much so I looked in the freezer for the first time in a couple of days and everything was defrosted. Had to throw away 3.5 trash bags of food. I called LG, they gave me a authorized tech to come look at it, which he did on Friday. Did the unplug thing, wait hours and nothing. He came back on Sat. to tap the system to see if Freon was leaking - we only had 25% Freon running through the fridge which could also mean the compressor is bad as well. This tech was leaving to go on vacation, I decided I couldn't wait a week for him to come back so called LG to get another tech's #.
Tech 2 came out yesterday and discovered Tech 1 had illegally removed the tap after performing the Freon test and Freon had been leaking out of my fridge for 4 days! He also ruined whatever it is you connect the tap too. Tech 2 said now all my hoses are contaminated and this fridge will be a nightmare to repair, he probably will even decline the job because it could possibly mean weeks of having to come back on multiple occasions to get it fixed. Tech 2 called LG while here, documented everything with their tech support, pictures, videos everything. LG has extended the warranty for us but now they want us to have a 3rd Tech come out, has to be specific one and this company can't get out until the end of next week, we have already been extremely inconvenienced without a fridge for a week and now they want us to wait another week to get the 3rd authorized tech before they will proceed???
I called Tech 2 again today and he said he doesn't understand, he was already here yesterday, he is an authorized technician for LG and he documented everything, there is nothing else for him to do. Just today alone I have logged 8 calls with LG, takes an average of 7-10 minutes just to get where you need to be. If you want to talk to a supervisor they say one will call you back in 30 mins., over an hour later I'm calling them back because I have not received a call from a supervisor.
At this point I'm getting upset and told the supervisor I just need a new refrigerator and her response was "well that's not up to you." Very dissatisfied with the runaround I'm getting from LG, I bought 4 appliances from them in 2015 and will never buy another one because of their antiquated customer service system. Also, should I be contacting the EPA, is my fridge still leaking Freon but LG says that's ok and just wait another week?? At this point I have lost two days of work, probably about $400 of food and my stress level is through the roof!

Purchased an LG fridge about 6 months ago. Over two weeks ago it began not cooling well and progressively got worse, soupy ice cream, rotting veggies etc... Called the place we bought it from Goedeker's online. They forwarded us to LG since it was under a year old. Goedeker's made some calls but even the President Steve Goedeker said he can't do much. Unbelievable, these companies are happy to take your money but have no problem leaving you and your family high and dry.
LG has been a nightmare to deal with, the first week was wasted speaking to representatives that barely understood English. Finally request someone to come out on their website hoping that will get someone to come out and help us... After many phone calls, many lies, many conversations of no one caring (we are a family with a son under 2 years old etc... in a rural area) it's over two weeks now and not even a phone call or servicer has been sent out to even diagnose our fridge. I even found a tech willing to come out and provided LG all the info - found out later through another source that spoke to their dealer department that they denied him because they didn't want to pay him standard rates. They spoke to another servicer in our area and they didn't approve his rates either and kept trying to talk him down as well.
They have chosen to not help us and keep our family waiting to try to pay low rates to local service repair men. You'd think they've spent at least that much paying their employees to make so many calls trying to negotiate ridiculously low rates. Why not just do the right thing and service the customer??? They have put us off, delayed and delayed any kind of progress just to pinch pennies and negotiate with service repairmen to see who will take their low negotiated rates. SO WRONG. My advice NEVER EVER EVER buy LG, our fridge was a $2700 fridge and it is not working in 6 months. They could not care less. Don't buy from online places, buy at your local appliance Ma and Pa place. Someone who will actually care, and hold true to some values.

My LG refrigerator broke down over a week ago after just 18 months. I paid over $3,500 for it. I have been trying to have my case reviewed by LG for over a week now but they keep rejecting my proof of purchase even though on top of the original receipt and invoice, the Home Depot store where I purchased it from, issued an official proof of purchase letter. I spent over $7,200 on all LG appliances and I am not happy with any of them. The display on the stove broke down in the first week I had it. The washer keeps stalling when I run certain programs. The dryer routinely stops with an error message that the duct is blocked (which is bogus, we checked it on many occasions and there is no obstruction) and the dishwasher does not completely dry the dishes even in extra dry mode.
I have never before written a negative review but this company does not deserve to be in business. They do not stand by their product and use the annoying and false slogan "Life is Good". Good for them maybe. Not for the customer. Their customer service is a nightmare. All calls are answered by representatives who serve as a layer of protection so you cannot actually get through to anyone who is a decision maker. If you are considering a purchase of an appliance, please stay away from the LG brand!!! Worst ever. I owned a Samsung fridge before and it worked like a dream and was nicely designed. LG could care less and Sears doesn't seem to care either. Perhaps a class action suit is in order. At the bare minimum it may force LG and their poor products and even worse customer service out of the market. As for Sears, they will likely be gone by this time next year. A repairman said that he would order the part and return once it was received to install it. That never happened. I let it go since the refrigerator itself was functioning fine. Unfortunately, as soon as the 1 year warranty expired, so did the refrigerator and the freezer. They both stopped working. The LG repairman states that he needed to order a part and would return. He did so, but unfortunately the new part that was installed didn't fix the problem.
A few hours later the refrigerator also developed a loud noise as well as a vibration. The repairman was supposed to come back this morning, but LG called 30 minutes ahead of time to say that the repairman called in sick and they don't have an alternate repairman (even though I live in middle of LA). So two weeks the service man came out and said the compressor was gone but the parts were covered not labor. Two weeks the parts came in and two men worked all day and it still didn't work but I was still charged. The repair man said it may have been a bad board and ordered another one. It came in but he ordered the wrong one. Now another two weeks and it is to be installed tomorrow. The service dept at Fred's said they will sell me another one at their cost. BFD just can't get anyone to show some responsibility. LG service is a joke and the people I spoke to were rude and told me too bad there is nothing I can do. Anyone want to start a lawsuit?

I called LG and they scheduled a repair for me. I took the day off from work to be home for the repair and 2 days before the repair company calls to tell me they couldn't make the appointment and that LG just tentatively schedules a service call. They never communicated that to me, kept me on the phone for over an hour waiting to get to the correct department and then had me "jump through hoops" to have the money paid for the "repair" refunded to my account. I would never buy a LG product again. In addition the dishwasher isn't worth the $1000.00 I spent on it!

Bad Service - 38 months old French Door with dual ice makers and the in door ice maker fails. It makes ice but cannot seem to get them to fall when it turns to empty without getting stuck and making a clicking noise. I called LG and they connected me to an LG authorized service center 70 miles away. The service center called the day they were to arrive and asked me how I was going to pay. I asked for an estimate and was informed that ice makers cannot be repaired as LG does not fix ice makers but only replaces them for a cost of $500. The reason that was provided is they are made in Korea. What a bunch of BS from the authorized service center. I just canceled the order for all LG products on the new home going up. I would not take the chance with their product again.

I was out of country for business when my wife tells me our 5 year old LG refrigerator stopped working. I had her call LG customer service department (India). They provided her with an authorized LG Service Center 50 miles from our house. The cost for the service center to make the service call to my home was $215 which included 1 hour of labor that would be applied to the service call and anything left over applied to the repair. It took the service center 1 week to make the service call. At 5 years my refrigerator has only a 7 year warranty on the compressor with no labor covered. The service call by the service center determined the compressor and motherboard were bad. The repairman only assessed the call for 15 minutes leaving 45 minutes toward repair. I was also told that I would have to get the parts from LG. Contacted LG for the parts and they said the service center would have to order the parts.
I went back and forth for about a week between the service center and LG. Got an LG Case Number that was offered after about the 15th call to LG. I asked for a US based LG customer service rep and was told that does not exist. Today LG offered to send the Service Center a "Part Authorization #" so that they could order the parts. I am going on 3 weeks without a refrigerator functioning in my home. I was told the Part Authorization # will take at least 3 days. The service center says once they have the Part Authorization # it will take about a week to get the part. Then another week to come out for the service repair call. If you are thinking of purchasing an LG product you are out of your freak'n mind.

After having this fridge (LG 29.6 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator MODEL LFXS07265) for only 16 months there was a failure with this product and I had to throw out all the food. I called LG and they required a warranty purchase $328 dollars for 60 days before they could send someone to house for repairs. I was surprised that LG would not stand behind their product that was less than 2 years old citing that this was out of warranty. I did a look up online and noticed that error code I had was very common and other customer has the same issue, yet LG sits on their hands and continues to push this product without acknowledging a known issue with their product.
I am recommending staying away from any LG product based on LG's product reliability is one of the worst I have seen for a major appliance. Symptoms. Loud fan, water and ice dispenser stopped working and refrigeration failed. This is more of a oven now as the temp gauge shows that it is 80 degrees vs the 38 I have it set to. I am posting this review on my internal social network at work so that this is available to 350,000 plus employees at work advising them to stay away from LG.

Literally the day I finished paying for my $2800 French Door LG refrigerator, it stopped working. At first I thought it was the ice maker. Had a repair person out who reset it and said to call back in 24 hrs if it didn't work. After 24 hrs still no luck, but now I've started realizing that I keep throwing stuff away in my refrigerator after just a day or so because it's gone bad. Finally after about 2 weeks of this, I realize that the refrigerator is not cooling, despite the 32 degrees reading on the outside temp setting.
Call another repair person out after calling several that don't deal with LG because they say they're garbage and he says he can't fix it, to call LG and ask for a courtesy one time flat rate repair. I do that, he comes out, and says it's the compressor which is on back order until May 20. More than 2 weeks from now. Wonder why the part is on backorder? Maybe because it's garbage and everyone seems to have the same problem? Please please please don't make the mistake of buying these products. They are absolute junk. As are Samsung as well. These are the two all the repair people I've spoken to say to stay away from.

We purchased a brand new LG french door refrigerator (bottom drawer freezer and 2 door refrigerator with ice and water in the door). We purchased it through Home Depot for $2200 in April 2016. We researched and shopped around and felt good about the purchase. Didn't buy extended warranty - why would we... it's a brand new fridge with manufacturers warranty and solid company right?? WRONG!!!
I NEVER write online reviews. This experience is so shockingly horrible I had to submit a review. The ice in the door constantly melts and refreezes. When it refreezes it bonds the giant chunk of ice from the ice maker to the door. You need an icepick or a crowbar to then remove the ice maker from the door. Of course, as soon as you pry it apart, the entire bin of ice and melted water drops onto the floor and all around your feet. The melted ice block fills every nook 6 inches deep into the ice maker. Again, using an icepick you can chop up the ice and use your vacuum or spoons to extract all the ice.
Home Depot won't touch this. Refer you to LG Customer Service. Took multiple calls and LG over the phone told us it was our fault and we must be leaving refrigerator door open too long and were melting the ice. They told us to open the refrigerator door NO MORE THAN 1-2 TIMES PER DAY??? Finally, they sent a technician. The technician reviewed the fridge and told me LG is terrible and he sees this all the time. However, his report back to LG indicated he found no issues. LG issued report to us that we need to TURN OFF THE ICEMAKER every night before bed and empty the bin.
In the morning we can turn the ice maker back on but that we MUST USE ALL THE ICE EACH DAY OR TURN IT OFF. They claim the ice maker is so efficient and meant to make more ice than we can use because they were getting complaints it wouldn't make enough ice. So we've been turning the ice maker on and off each day - which makes us open the refrigerator doors twice a day by the way. And the problem is still there. Thanks LG!! What a waste of $2200. A waste of many people's time in your games and a ridiculous strategy. Buyers are savvy and expect more than stupid answers. A very unsatisfied customer who is also a realtor and refers people to buy new appliances all the time! Will make sure people don't buy LG for sure!

Special ordered a large LG refrigerator on the recommendation from the salesman from Home Depot. The outside of the refrigerator dents with just the push of your finger. So needless to say looks awful. I bought the extra warranty. I called LG, said warranty is up. As soon as the warranty ran out. We have a frost built up in the freezer. Every 3 months we manually have to take everything out and defrost the freezer. An ice built up under the drawer, snow on everything, can't even close the freezer until this is done. It's only 6 years old. A refrigerator should last longer than this. Flapper between the french doors quit working, so you manually have to close this before you can close the doors. I would never buy this refrigerator again or would recommend to anyone. We paid a lot of $ for this thing.

We bought an LG LFX31925ST French Door refrigerator in January 2012. It has operated flawlessly. Both my wife and I have frequently commented on what a great purchase this was. We recently observed a periodic error message indicating that a freezer fan was failing. Since I don't expect anything mechanical to run forever, I was happy that the product pointed me to the likely problem with an error message. I was impressed that I was easily able to download owner and repair manuals online, and that part diagrams and the parts themselves were readily available from numerous sources. We ordered the needed part and removing the freezer drawer and replacing the back wall with new sensor and fans was a $100 repair that took 45 minutes at most.
We have owned refrigerators in the past that required a new ice maker every year. Our LG ice maker is now more than 5 years old and with daily use still works perfectly. I'm sold on LG products. DON'T STOP UNTIL YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK... I DID. My 4-year old LG fridge stopped working. The fridge was warm and the cooler was warm but everything else worked (lights, water). I had the same horrible experience as most of the reviews I have read. Multiple phone calls leading to nowhere. Had 3 different techs sent by LG and all diagnosed different problems. One said I needed new compressor, the other said compressor was fine but that I had a blockage, the third said I have a leak. I was still covered under the warranty but the techs all explained that the fix was extensive, might not solve issue and it could break down again.
I've never been more proud and embarrassed at myself in my life. I kicked and screamed and shouted and fought with them on the phone for over an hour and a half until they approved me getting my money back (even then I waited for the confirmation email saying so). I'm not the type of person to act like that but ultimately I had to be to get what I deserved. My advice, don't give in and fight like heck to get your money back... it can happen. Purchased an extended warranty on March 14, 2017 for my LG refrigerator for $375 through Assurant which LG told me I had to go through to get coverage. LG contacted Royal Electronics from Bunnell Fl. to service my refrigerator. R.E. phone #386-756-1775. R.E. contacted me to set up date to come to my home to look at my refrigerator. R.E. did show up but only after cancelling the first appointment and showing up a week later. The service repairman was very friendly but came completely unprepared and was ready to walk out the door when I brought it to his attention that he hadn't even checked the ice maker, which was one of the main reasons he was there. The other was the water inlet valve in the back of the refer. Jumping ahead repairman said he order the parts but that the refer was old (7yrs) and I might not be able to get all the parts for it. Sad.
I'm waiting almost two weeks and hear nothing from R.E. I call them back and they say they can't get the ice maker anymore (no longer available). I went online and found the part myself at repairclinic.com. I called R.E. back and said they could get the part from repairclinic. R.E. told me they only order parts from approved suppliers through LG. I called LG and they said they would authorize the purchase, and let R.E. know to go ahead and order the parts. In the meantime I'm still making phone calls both to R.E. and L.G. really getting nowhere. Assurant has already charged my credit card twice ($250 now), and nothing has yet to remedy my broken refer 6 wks later. R.E. never calls back and I always had to call them.
Collette from R.E. told me the part was on its way but she didn't have a tracking number and that we would just have to wait to hear from her again. She told me not to call again because she would call me (that never happened). So now after at least two working days on the phone, on hold more than half the time, I decided to cancel my insurance policy. I call LG and they said they would charge me $100 and refund the rest. They said this was to pay for the service call to my house by the repairman. I received really no service at all, and I'd be a fool to keep playing phone tag with two companies that obviously have no intentions of making it right. I believe R.E. was being spiteful that I went above their heads and found the part I needed from another company. (Prior, R.E. insisted to me that the parts could no longer be obtained because the part was no longer manufactured.)
They just did not want to do their job and that's incompetence as far as I'm concerned. What a win fall for R.E. All the repairman does is show up and he gets paid. LG should refund all my money for the trouble I have been put through. A refrigerator that cost me about $2400 should last (in my book) at least 10 yrs before something goes wrong with it. LG mindset, it's time to buy a new one in 6 to 7 yrs. What a shame and what happened to pride in the products we buy in the USA? Wasteful! Wasteful! Wasteful! I shall go on to order the parts myself and try to repair my refrigerator. What happened to the days when you would call a repairman and he would have the parts in his truck and he'd fix it right then and there?

On 4/14 I contacted LG Direct Service regarding my refrigerator not cooling. The refrigerator was no longer under warranty so they suggested some local service providers. At this point the service rep offer me a service contract for the unit, explaining that I would have a 60 day service contract for a cost of $365.04 and they would send a technician out to fix the unit on 4/17 between 8:00 am and 12:00. On 4/17 the technician was a no show. I contacted LG Direct Service regarding the matter. That had no answer for me and kept referring me to Assurance, who apparently is a third party to actually held the service contract that I thought I got from LG Direct Services. This whole time I had been dealing directly with LG as implied by the name.
In any event, Assurance informed me that he was only service provider in my area, and that they would send another request to him. So I was told now that the technician would be arriving between 8-12:00 on 4/19. LG Provided me with the number of the provider so I attempted to contact him on 4/18 in an effort to confirm the appointment. After numerous attempts with no answer other than a recording with a full mailbox, I contacted LG Direct Service again. I explained that I could not contact the provider and needed to have this appointment confirmed. They attempted to contact the provider but had the same response that I did.
After 2 hours of mostly being on hold listen to a recording tell me over and over again that they know how valuable my time is, I am informed that the guy will not be coming tomorrow. He rejected the request for the service. It turns out he rejected the first request for service as well. So the appointment that LG Direct Service told me I had, never even existed. No phone call or e-mail to let me know. So I took off of work for no reason. Had I not called on 4/18, the same thing would have happened. Now LG just keeps trying to pass the buck onto Assurance. LG tells me that the technician that didn't show is the only one they have in my area even though they had already given me the names of three other service providers. The fact is he is the only one that is on the Assurance list of providers. As a result they now say they can no longer repair my refrigerator. So instead of paying $365.04 for the repair it is now going to cost $900.
LG totally misrepresented the service contract of actually being an LG product. I have repeatedly asked LG to stand by the contract they sold me and get another authorized repairman to fix it. They have gone so far as to tell me that they don't have anyone who can make the repair in my area. It should be against the law to sell you a product under the representation that it is their product and not a third party's. The only people I spoke with and was invoiced by was LG Direct Service and they should have to make do on the contract and get my refrigerator fixed and not just offer to cancel the contract and return my money and then have to pay more to someone else. Just for the fact that between time off of work and the 4 hrs plus I have spent on the phone with them should be enough to make them want to do right by the customer.

Purchased an LG refrigerator appx 4 years ago. Stopped working, not cooking. Called numerous repair providers to see if they can fix. Nobody I can find would look at LG product. Called LG directly to see if they can find someone that I can call. Ended up purchasing an out of warranty contract through LG called Assurant. For 2 months now I have had a non-working refrigerator. I have had numerous providers get scheduled to come to my home only for them to not show leaving me having to keep calling Assurant. I was advised by Assurant that it is from LG that they get the list of service providers so they have no way of knowing anything about them except the location to my home.
Finally 2 months later and 3 service providers I was informed that my refrigerator was going to cost too much for LG to repair and they would total it out. The coolant system was shot along with the compressor. When you call to check the status of getting this taken care of I am told that they do not have anyone certified to fix the coolant system. But I was granted permission to find my own service provider to come out and fix it but the catch... not only would I have to pay out of pocket, while the provider was at my home I had to call Assurant and have the provider speak to them in order for them to reimburse me for services. I said that was unacceptable. A supervisor informed me that since the refrigerator is less than 7 years old and it's the sealant system, LG would be responsible for replacing it.
Again, I get on the phone with LG to file a claim for a defected item. After 4 days of not hearing anything I called today Only to be told by 2 supervisors that they can't do anything. I was given the option to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed but they denied my claim to have it replaced. Didn't matter what I said, the customer service at LG has the most disrespectful people.
I am not in a position to pay $1200 out of pocket to try and get reimbursed and all they can say was, "I can't help you." They do not want to acknowledge the fact that their product is defected and the sealant/coolant system is not working. They can provide names to me but won't pay for it because under my contract that they sold me, nobody is certified to do the work. So how am I supposed to have this fixed?? I have 3 kids and my husband needs to keep his medication refrigerated.
So for 2 months after purchasing a contract, I have been keeping food cold in a cooler with ice. Totally unacceptable. All LG can say is "sorry I do apologize ". After just speaking to one of ten supervisors at LG, and stating that I will be contacting the better business bureau and consumer affairs she said, "Go ahead, do what you want." Like I need her permission? No I need them to stand behind their product which they do not. So now I am told I can cancel my contract in writing and since they can't help me, they will refund all of $100 of the amount I paid. Still leaves me with no refrigerator and nobody at LG willing or able to look at something that is defected unless I choose to pay out of pocket. Absolutely absurd. This company is the worst. I am so sorry I ever purchased a product from them and what's even worse is the horrible customer service.

I've read so many negative reviews about LG refrigerators not working that this seems superfluous but I need to vent. We purchased a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer 3 years ago during a kitchen remodel. It is a counter-depth with water and ice in the door. About 6 weeks ago, the refrigerator stopped cooling. We put a thermometer inside and the temperature was 57 degrees. We contacted our retailer, Abt, who immediately sent out a tech person and determined, with the assistance of LG tech, that the freezer fan wasn't working. The part was ordered, new fan installed, and the refrigerator temperature remained at 57 degrees. We called Abt again, tech came out and again, with the help of the LG tech, determined it was now the refrigerator fan. Part ordered, part replaced, temp still 57. Abt ordered a new control board, at the suggestion of LG tech, part ordered, couldn't be installed because it was the wrong part.
We finally contacted LG. After long waits, requests to speak to managers, etc., we were finally referred to their Executive Services. I'm guessing that this department handles difficult situations (or difficult people, although I haven't been difficult until now, 7 weeks later). LG sent out their tech. Tech announced that the refrigerator was installed improperly because it fit too tightly in the cabinetry. Ok, this is a counter-depth, built-in refrigerator. Huh?
So, LG Executive Services was called again. We asked for the installation manual and were directed to the online version. While the Exec. Services person (Tish) was on the phone, we read, aloud and together, the specs which stated the unit needs 1/8" on either side and minimum of 2" from the wall to the back of the refrigerator. The unit was installed properly. Tish insisted that it isn't and made me wait while she chatted with "Engineering." Apparently, Engineering stated that there needed to be 1" on top for air flow. I asked Tish how I would have known that since it's not published in the installation manual and I want a copy of that. 8 days have gone by and I've not received anything. When I followed up today with Jenna, she said that, because I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the engineers will send the info to the BBB and they will respond to me. REALLY???
Between the dates of April 4th and today, April 11th, I've exchanged 12 emails with Marianne, at Executive Services, to no end. LG tech came out, again, with a 2nd tech at 7:30 PM! After much discussion, they determined it must be the control board or the sealed system. The control board was ordered and installed. Our interior refrigerator temperature is now 61 degrees from 57!! What a joke. So... today I spoke to 3 people at Executive Services: Tamica (totally useless), Willie and Jenna. Jenna seemed to at least want to do something. I shared that our daughter is getting married in 4 days, we are having a 40 person brunch on Easter Sunday, and I have no freaking refrigerator.
The latest is... Jenna contacted the Tech Department and they want to put in a datalogger to clarify the issue. I asked what that meant, she didn't know. I asked how long it would be in the fridge, she didn't know. She said she sent an email to the tech engineer, tech manager, and Tech Support manager asking these questions. Do you think the problem with getting anything done has to do with too much weight at the top? Anyway, we have an appointment Thursday so the tech can put in a datalogger, whatever the hell it does.
I can't even describe the frustration and anger held towards this company. I would have given them a 1 because, obviously, their products aren't meant to last, but some of the folks at Executive Services and our tech have been nice and most seem to want to help. I wouldn't recommend LG products to anyone, ever, unless they want to be totally frustrated and throw money out of the window. Our previous refrigerator lasted 19 years and it was a Whirlpool... no brainer.
[Updated on 04/20/2017] Felt my previous review needed updating and lowered my rating from 2* to 1. I still don't have a functioning refrigerator. Jenna, at LG, promised the datalogger, which never happened. After she contacted their tech people, they deemed my refrigerator 'installed improperly', again, and said 'sorry, we can't help you'. So, after sending out their techs 4 times, replacing the motherboard, ordering the sealed unit, this is their decision? The unit is installed in accordance with the installation manual on line. Their engineers came up with different specs. Coincidentally, their 'cant fix it' edict came on the heels of my response to their response to my complaint to the Better Business Bureau.
Hmmmm... After reading the 1700+ complaints about LG products, the majority being refrigerators, Ive decided to take this further. I am contacting my local news station, newspaper and the Attorney General, if need be. PLEASE... EVERYONE WHO IS OR HAS EXPERIENCED THE LACK OF SERVICE, and refrigeration, from LG, TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL. LET'S GET THIS CRAPPY COMPANY OUT OF OUR STORES.

One person said that she would send me $150 for my food replacement. Later found out that's no such policy. My refrigerator stopped working December 2016 and it is now beginning of April 2017. My Refrigerator is still broke.

Our LG refrigerator is only 18 months old and has broken down three times. The first time, LG repaired within the first year. Second time occurred three weeks ago. The warranty company contracted a local appliance repair company to come out. They came out and diagnosed the issue, then said they needed to order a new compressor and should take three to five days. On day three, I call the company to find out status of compressor. They indicate it had not yet arrived.
I call every day after that for another week and could not get anyone to answer the phone. My wife and I are both professionals and do not have time to deal with a fridge company. On day eleven or so, I file a complaint on Better Business Bureau website. Less than twenty minutes later, I get a call. Company comes out to install the new compressor a day later. Repair guy says it is fixed and leaves. Later that day, I again noticed the fridge was not working. Fridge is still broken!!! Now another lost work day and more time on the phone and internet wasting my time dealing with a terrible LG Product! There has to be legal recourse with so many complaints. I bet the majority of us have the same model. LG needs to be held accountable for selling a $2500 piece of junk!

First the LG microwave has broken twice within the first year of purchase. NOW, the 28.5 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator with Door-in-Door water dispenser won't shut off and was flooding my kitchen. Thank GOD I was home and could shut off the water to the house. I am warning ANYBODY AND EVERYBODY to NOT BUY LG - it's made in Korea and China - it's worthless and I feel ripped off. These appliances are brand new! Imagine if I wasn't home and my house flooded. NEVER AGAIN!!!

So, regarding this LG air conditioner recall: I called their 800 # and entered all product info. I received a text telling me to go to their website. I entered the product info on their website, and was eligible for repair. I received a text telling me to go to their website. Called their number again, and got a recording to go to their website. Entered info. They sent me a text telling me what they just told me. I went online and called their # in Alabama. They transferred me to a guy in South Korea. The guy in South Korea gave me a number of a service center in Trenton. Called the number in Trenton and listened to a recording that said I was next in line and it would be a 3 minute wait. Was on hold for 35 minutes. I was then disconnected. Checked their website and hours said 10:00am - 6:00pm. Called back and recording said they closed at 5:00pm. Filled out a service request online and submitted.
Bottom line is this. LG, the brand: They make ** products. They have ** service. I wouldn't buy a toaster from these ** idiots. My suggestions to you: If you use the AC unit, make sure you are there the whole time. If you use it, take note of its efficiency or any quirks. Unplug it if it makes you feel more comfortable. When I'm back I will take it down to Trenton for repair. If this repair circus continues, I will drop it off with your unused TVs at some salvage place so I can at least get a donation receipt. Or, I may take it down to the river and throw it off the bridge. Welcome to the 21st Century.

We purchase a LG French door Refrigerator 2 1/2 years ago. Very expensive - top of the line. The compressor went bad and to get it replaced would cost $600 plus would take 10 business days to ship it. I called LG and was treated very poorly by customer service - didn't care and nothing they can do. I would recommend "NEVER" buying an LG appliance. I never will again. Horrible quality. Horrible customer service. What a shame.

I purchased an LG Refrigerator and has had numerous problems with the product. LG trained technicians has visited my house at least twenty visits. I have lost food products countless number of times, lost time off and wages from work and I still have a product that has cost me $27,000 worth of frustrations and disappointments. No one has offered me a replacements, food lost or lost wages nor have anyone ever returned a single phone call.
The customer service is simply terrible, the person on the other end of the phone talks to you with little or no respect. I had to tell a gentlemen on the other end, "Don't talk to me in that tone of voice". They even told me I had to write a letter to the higher management to further complain for, which made no sense to me when they have my record of complaints in front of them. The refrigerator has had 3 compressors replacements, an ice maker, the entire Freon system w 5 lbs of Freon, the motherboard and God know what else. I can go on and on about my experience with this product but I don't know if it would benefit anyone or even if it will get posted. I can say I won't stop until someone has heard me. Another weekend without a refrigerator!!!

I purchased a LG French Door refrigerator in November 2015. It is approximately 17 months old. I was told I needed to purchase a "service" contract for > $400 in order to get "service". I waited all day this past Friday for "service" and no one showed up. I waited on the phone in excess of 1.75 hours! The call was abruptly ended with "You have called after service hours". I called back and was told to call again on Saturday regarding my repair. WOW the "service" department was closed on Saturday. Monday arrives and a repairmen appears on Tuesday after Monday's call... HOWEVER the repairman only repeated what I was told last week... "You need a compressor .. and I don't have one". "You will need to wait 8-10 days for the parts." LG IS NOT WORTH the time nor money invested! I want my SAMSUNG back.
Updated on 05/02/2017: As I have explained previously, my LG French Door refrig remains on the blink. When I first reported the issues to LG, I was advised to purchase their extended warranty. WHAT they did not tell me is that the sealed unit that was at fault remained covered under their already in place 7-year warranty. Now for the update... The refrig remains on the blink and after a technician has been to my residence x3 and he as engaged in a conversation with the "main guy" (Ruben), LG refuses to replace the unit as they remain unable to fix the unit. Sadly, they refuse to honor either the standard warranty and the "extended" warranty that specifies if unable to repair they will replace. And by the way, this was after being placed on hold for more than 3 hours and then having a disconnection message stating that they were NOW closed for the day and call back tomorrow!
