My LG refrigerator has shown weird behaviors and lately "ER CO" on display and shortly stopped making ice. The biggest problem is that the LG service team have no idea of how to fix it and now after 6.5 months of 5 visits and over 12 hrs of phone calls, they have GIVEN UP asking me to buy another fridge. Here are the clear problems with LG tech -

    a) Tech is under skilled - Over the 5 visits, the technicians came up with different diagnosis.
    b) No follow ups - There were no follow-ups (I repeat no follow-up) from LG on the next steps after the tech shared the diagnosis info.
    c) No handover within their teams - Every time when I called their customer care, I spoke to a new person and I had to repeat the whole story again and was provided with new (and may times repeated) steps to follow.
    d) Tier 2 drops the ball - Very good on the phone, but once off the phone, no easy way to catch.
    e) Only escalations work - I took to the social media, only when I got their attention and someone senior started looking into the problem and whole history of correspondence.

    f) No outcome - But in spite of engagement from seniors, the problem remained unresolved and finally they gave up asking me to buy a new fridge.

I lost 3 working days to attend the technician visit and over 12 hrs of office time on phone. Total $ equivalent of this time loss is over $5000. Highly recommend avoiding LG appliances.

Purchased the Refrigerator in October-2016 after we flooded. The refrigerator stayed in its box that it was delivered in until December 2016 when it was installed. In April-2019 the refrigerator quit cooling and we lost all of the food that was in the refrigerator. We called and reported it to the company and made an appointment for someone to come and look at it. No one showed up for the day we set the appointment in which my wife stayed home the entire day waiting on.

We called that evening or the next day and was told it would be the next week before someone came out because the part wasn’t in. The question at that time was what part was ordered because no one had been out yet to see what was wrong with it. Someone did show up the next week and changed the compressor out. Since then the refrigerator makes a loud noise when the compressor kicks on. We have called back about the noise and someone came back and looked at it and thought he fixed it. It still makes the loud noise and we have called again but no one has come out to look at it again.

My wife and I purchased an LG refrigerator a couple of month ago (model: LFXS28968). Roughly, two weeks ago we got a code on the digital display screen indicating dH (Freezer) and F (refrigerator). I called in a repair request to your service department (the unit was still under warranty) and sent the service department both a sales receipt and a purchase order from the stored it was bought. They scheduled a service technician to come out to look at the unit. He never came to look at the unit but said he would order the part due to the nature of the display screen read out. He also told me that if the service department did not call me within three days I would be entitled to a new unit (I guess beyond that time the food would begin to spoil).

After not hearing from anyone for the past three days I tried to get in touch with the technician at least five times by both cell phone and text messaging. Absolutely no response. Then, I called the service department which was no help at all. They could not get in touch with the technician nor could they trace the part which they claimed they ordered. They said they would look into it and get back in touch with me. Guess what? they never got back in touch with me. Then I had to get in touch with a supervisor who still could not reach the technician nor trace the supposed part. The next day I spoke to a different supervisor who again could not get in touch with the technician nor located the part. The next day I called and wanted to speak to a manager from the LG Corporation. Instead I spoke to another supervisor who indicated the part was ordered from Korean and was on its way.

I asked her what kind of compensation would I receive for all of spoiled food (both the refrigerator and freezer). I received a mere $150.00. Instead LG could have resolved the problem by supplying me with a new unit within the three day time frame. They decided to prolong the problem and that stretched into two weeks. This has been one of the most frustrating situations I have ever been involved in. The level of incompetence, and lack of empathy towards their customers is incomprehensible. Seldom do I write reviews but this is an exception. I hope anyone who may be thinking of purchasing a LG refrigerator will do their homework on the LG brand. I will never purchase another LG product nor will I recommend this product to any of my friends.

I will never ever order or buy another LG product. I paid good money for a fridge that lasted only 4 years and then was refused repairs because of a lazy, uncooperative, repairman that LG sent out. I had a gentleman that could've fixed it but they sent someone else out and bc he did not like cats, he made sure that he denied repairs. LG corporate did do one thing good though, they gave me a check for partial loss of my groceries.

At this point, I’m unsure if I trust the LG brand and I don’t think I would use or recommend the product to anyone.

So, This was a great fridge for about 4 years. Then it stopped making cold. We have been without a refrigerator for over 1 month. Monday 5/20/19 will be the 7th time a tech has come out in an attempt to fix this piece of garbage. I'm sure he will replace a part, leave, and it will continue to not work. Then next week a tech will come out again, pick a single part to replace and leave. I'll wait another week and he will come replace that part. I'm pretty sure after compressor, valve, drying unit, main circuit board, and capacitor you could have replaced the fridge twice for less money. So, keep paying the techs to waste my time and rest assured I will never buy another LG appliance as long as I live.

This is a review of the LG customer service experience for a repair of an LFXS29626S French Door refrigerator. We woke up Christmas morning to find the 3yr old refrigerator was no longer cooling at all. Reviewing the warranty showed that the sealed system was still covered, so I placed a call to LG customer service. While the customer service phone rep was quite friendly/understanding and professional, that's where the enjoyable experience ended.

Net-net is that after 4 months and 5 separate repair visits from 2 separate 3rd party repair shops, many phone calls, much lost time and spoiled food, the unit is still not functioning as expected. The unit was cooling properly after the 4th visit, but now the unit sounded like a leaf blower all the time. The final "fix" was more of a hack that only partially addressed the noise issue, but they say that it falls within spec tolerance.

I called LG and requested escalation. Upon speaking to the escalation manager, I requested that they replace the unit since it was not actually fixed. She was very firm that the company had a process that must be followed and that they would not replace the unit. They offered a minimal reimbursement for the spoiled food, which would nowhere near cover all that we had lost. Either way, we have not received any reimbursement.

At this point we're going to put the unit in the garage and purchase another refrigerator - something other than LG. The thing that the company (especially the escalation manager) didn't seem to grasp was the concept of total customer value. Not only will this experience keep me from buying LG refrigerators in the future, but since they also sell everything from washers/dryers, to TVs, to cell phones, I will look elsewhere for many products. The marginal cost for them to simply replace the refrigerator would probably have been around $600, but instead they likely spent more than twice that on parts and 3rd party repair services. When you add that to the future lost revenue it was simply a bad business decision that could have been properly remedied in order to keep an affluent customer.

I’ve known about LG Refrigerators for a long time and I liked its design. I was so excited to find it. I have a bottom freezer refrigerator and I like the adjustable shelf although I wish there are more shelves that are more adjustable. Also, I can have shelves on either side of the refrigerator at different heights. I wanted a single-door refrigerator and it's a double-door but it’s alright. It looks nice and it’s fine. However, I’m not happy that my freezer keeps frosting up.

It took five or six calls to get someone to come out and look at the freezer when it was frosting up. So, it took several weeks. If I was working, I probably wouldn’t have been able to stay on top of that and now, I have the problem again. I bought another refrigerator because mine was frosting so much and I couldn’t keep anything in there frozen. Now, I’m getting a space problem. I’ve had it a few months. The motor seems to be working fine and the refrigerator seems to be keeping the right temperature but there’s something wrong with the seal on the freezer.

Please avoid all LG kitchen appliances if possible. Our refrigerator and dishwasher (both only 2.5 years old) has given us nothing but problem. The fridge started making a loud humming and gurgling noise intermittently about 2 months ago. Then 3 weeks ago, the freezer gave out and the following day the whole thing stopped working. It's been 3.5 weeks and we still don't have a working fridge. Apparently, all parts are shipped from Korea which takes days to weeks to get. Our service provider who was referred by Home Warranty of America (also a horrible warranty company) ordered the wrong part which will take another 7-10 days to get the part. I am livid and fed up. Also, our fickle LG dishwasher has been giving us problems since the day we moved in. It turns on when it wants to. We have to constantly reset the breaker for it to function properly.

I wish I could give LG a big fat ZERO because that’s what they deserve. I purchased a side by side LG refrigerator two years ago. Six months ago, the ice maker stopped working. Then it started working again four weeks ago, but only for a couple of days. Then the freezer stopped freezing. All my food thawed out and ended up in the trash. Then a few days later, the fridge itself stopped working with the exception of the water. Called LG customer service. They sent someone out five days later (after all the food in the unit ended up in the trash). The tech said he changed the compressor. The following day, the unit is still not working AND now the water isn’t working either. Tech came back out. Said the water line got tangled but now it’s fixed.

Over the next five days, the unit worked for a few hours, then stopped. More food spoiled. LG sent the tech out a third time. This time he claims it was the Freon and possibly the motherboard. He left saying it should work now. It didn’t. Now it’s been another five days, more spoiled food. LG scheduled an appointment for yesterday. No one showed up. Called them. They apologized for the confusion and said someone would be here today. No one showed up again. Called them again. Now they said someone will be here tomorrow. Their products stink and so does their customer service. I will never buy another one of their products again!

We had bought an LG television which was our first LG purchase. Then I was at Lowe’s one day and needed a new refrigerator. We ended up purchasing the LG French door refrigerator in a little over four years ago and I loved it. It was everything I expected until the compressor went out. It took four weeks to get it fixed which was a long time. There are two ice makers. One in the door and one in the bottom drawer. We noticed that it wasn’t making ice. At first, it was still cold, but over a couple of days it stopped keeping things frozen. A couple of days after that, nothing was cold in the refrigerator.

I called the number that’s inside the refrigerator and they wanted to know the details of when I purchased it and did I have proof of purchase. I’m not sure how that worked between LG and the people that came out but they had to contact a rep and she said, “We don’t have a rep in your area.” Someone else called me and scheduled. They said it would be a week. Then I called back and they said they had to reschedule because they didn’t have an LG repairman in Alabama. They were gonna have to get a certified LG repairman to come and fix it. They had me describe what the unit did. They were able to determine that it was probably the compressor and they sent the parts. About two weeks after we got the part, the LG repairman came from Georgia and fixed the refrigerator. I haven’t had any issues with it since the gentleman fixed it but I probably wouldn’t buy any LG refrigerator again.

Purchased this stainless refrigerator as part of the Kenmore Elite line in September 2015 as part of Kitchen reno (LG mfg this unit, price $2300). From the beginning it froze my vegetables in the bottom of the refrigerator and turning the temp. up meant the milk spoiled. Managed by putting delicate vegetables further up in the fridge and carrots/potatoes in the bottom. It matched the other appliances in our kitchen after all. The plastic storage bin in the freezer cracked sometime in Year 1, but the freezer was still usable and we just turned the bin around so we did not exacerbate the issue by accidentally pulling on the bin.

Fast forward to Year 3.75. We noticed this week that the freezer items were not frozen and the refrigerator items were not as cool. Repair tech came and said "new compressor" and "I see this all the time about the 4 year mark with LG made fridges". Given that Sears no longer exists in Canada he suggested contacting the manufacturer because these fridges have a 10 year warranty and they would probably cover the parts (estimate for parts and labor $1500-$1700).

Called LG Canada and was told that LG made a deal with Sears that they would cover the first year and years 2-10 were Sears' responsibility. Although I continued this conversation for many minutes, they were not interested in standing behind their product in any way. If LG will not stand behind their product I will never buy another again. I recommend other consumers do the same.

Most telling is the fact that various repair individuals, including a factory direct tech, have all told me that there is a design flaw with my and many of the LG units and that the problem I had in December and again recently will have to be addressed about every 90 days. Two techs added that the quality of the Korean brands, LG and Samsung, are not particularly good. Call it design arrogance. After 3 visits and numerous repair calls with executive service persons Sandy, Gel, Willie and Shay I am still waiting to learn when my refrigerator will be working. Ask the merchant before you purchase how repairs are handled. Ask questions when you purchase a service policy as to what justifies replacing the item. Like many reviewers before me, my 2.5 year old LG fridge stopped cooling yesterday. I called LG and spoke to CS who instructed me to change the temperature settings from Celsius to Fahrenheit and wait 2 hours, then call back if the fridge isn't cooling. I asked what changing the settings had to do with diagnosing my fridge, and the rep kept instructing me how to change the setting.

After much persistence, I finally got the rep to tell me about the Smart ThinQ app ( to diagnose the problem). We downloaded the app, tried the program... only for the answer of "the fridge door has been open longer than normal over the last 24 hours"... yes of course! Everything is melting, I was transferring my food to coolers! I called again and asked to be transferred to Tech Support... I was put on hold to nowhere. I called a third time and spoke to another rep who "found some equipment on the floor that could diagnose the problem". While the fridge did make a tune that the CS rep listened to, the final answer lead to "sending out a technician".

Now we were faced with: do we pay $299 for a One Rate fix, which guarantees a complete fix for the one rate, or do we pay $80 for a house call and then a variably increasing rate depending on the complexity of the fix. To pay anything for fixing a compressor that has a 10 year warranty is absurd! The fridge is going to the dump today, and my 20 year old KitchenAid which we replaced with the LG is coming back up from the basement! NEVER AGAIN will I purchase ANY LG product! If you haven't bought an LG fridge yet, DON'T!

Updated on 05/07/2019: After waiting for 5 days for someone to look at the refrigerator (we've been living out of ice chests) the technician arrives and doesn't even have to look at the refrigerator to tell us that it needs a new compressor. He tells us that these refrigerators are notorious for having compressors go out. Great, put a new one in! Well, not so easy. It has to be ordered and not expected to be in for a week. When it arrives, an appointment to install it will be made. After it's installed, we're told that it will take an additional 2 days for it to be ready to store food!

We waited for 5 days and 4 1/2 hours on Monday to be told that we'd have to wait ANOTHER 10-12 days before it can be used?? The technician says that I can call A&E and ask that the order be rushed. I call A&E and they tell me that LG would have to do that. I call LG and they tell me that it would have to go to "escalation" but they're closed so I'd have to call the next day..... I call this morning and wait on hold for 15 minutes for someone to come on the line, I ask the person to transfer me to someone in "escalation" only to be asked why I want to speak to that department.

I go through the WHOLE history again then he tells me what I already know, that a technician has already been sent to my house. Oh my gosh!!! He finally transfers me to someone in the escalation dept. On hold for 36 min. By this time, I've been on the phone for over an hour. I tell the lady who comes on the line why I'm calling and she tells me that the part has been ordered and that she can't "escalate" the order! I'm not making this up. I told her that I have HAD it with LG and that I want my money back for this lemon of a refrigerator. She says that she's sorry for my troubles but that she can't do anything about it. I ask who can and she says that she basically the end of the line. She will, however send a technician to determine if the refrigerator has issues that warrant a replacement or refund.

I ask if the 3 year history of problems, failed main board, defective replacement main board, issues with the motor fan, the loud noise coming from the refrigerator that remains undiagnosed and now, the defective/broken condenser, isn't evidence enough that this is a piece of junk? Apparently NOT. She puts me on a "brief hold" so she can schedule the determining technician to look at it. I am on hold for another 30 minutes and when she comes back on the line she says that the technician who comes to install the condenser will make a diagnosis. WHAT?? The same guy who was just here? I'm on the phone now for an hour and forty five minutes now, only to end up at the same place?? THIS UNBELIEVABLE!!

Original Review: We purchased this "top of the line" LG French door refrigerator in 2015 from Home Depot. We were sucked in by the beautiful design, beautiful black stainless finish, storage capacity and by the belief that LG was a reputable company. I loved this refrigerator for about a year and a half when it stopped cooling. The customer "service" dept. said that they'd send someone out for service but because we hadn't purchased the extended warranty, that we'd have to pay for the repairs. Really?? They didn't even know what the problem was and they were telling me that the repairs weren't covered.

Bottom line was the problem was that the main board failed and that fell under the 10 year warranty so they agreed to pay for a new one. This "new" one worked for a while then failed again. Another call to customer service, another hassle trying to get them to own up the the defective refrigerator, more spoiled food. When they finally agreed to send some, they couldn't find a local appliance repair company who would work on LG products, even though several were approved LG repair companies.

I called every appliance repair company in our county and could find NO ONE to work on LG refrigerators even if we paid for the repairs ourselves. We had to wait for an out of town repair person to come out and the defective main board was replaced. Sometime later, the refrigerator starting making LOUD noises when the condenser fan kicked on. The noise was so loud that it could be heard from another room. Customer service had us do bizarre "diagnostic" exercises. Unplug it for two hours, call back so they could do remote "readings". Unplug it and call back again....

They finally send some out of town LG technician who brought some foam sleeves to put on the fan to muffle the noise. I told him that I want to know what's causing the noise, I don't want to mask the noise! Another call to customer service. They have the technician order some part, they send another company to install the part which turns out to be the SAME foam sleeves that they installed before to mask the noise. Unbelievable! The problem was not diagnosed so obviously, it wasn't fixed.

We lived with that loud fan condenser for a while then today, the refrigerator and freezer quit working. They are sending A&E to check out the problem but because they're out of town, they won't be here for 4 days! More spoiled food, more time living out of an ice chest. I've read customer reviews on A&E which are NOT good so I can only imagine what will happen when they get here. I've called Home Depot to let them know what a terrible product they sold us but they have been no help and weren't really interested in hearing our "story." Does anyone know about a class action lawsuit against LG? I've had it with being ripped off....

All of our appliances and most of our TVs are LG products. They will all be replaced with another brand when the time comes. The "Linear Compressor" in the french door refrigerators are known defects. Good news is that a class action lawsuit was filed against LG. I had mine diagnosed by a local repairman. He says he sees at least (2) of them every week and sometimes several more. Unfortunately, he was not an LG contractor so he could not get the compressor directly. I would have to contact LG and get authorization letter he can use to order the part and I would have to pay him for labor on installation. I didn't want to have to deal with LG (customer service sucks!!).

I called their helpline and explained that I needed someone to replace the compressor that was covered under parts warranty. They said I would have to pay another diagnostic fee. The the tech could schedule the repair. A 2500 refrigerator that lasted (5) years and now I am paying to have it fixed. The Kenmore in my garage is over 20 years old and I have never had an issue with it. Fool me once, shame on you - fool me twice, shame on me. I will not buy an LG appliance again. Hopefully the lawsuit will yield something.

I am dealing with the exact same issue that some other customers have reported, and terribly disappointed with LG’s customer support setup. I have a 2-year-old LG refrigerator with manufacturer warranty, and we had paid extra to buy the extended warranty also. The fridge is broken for 8 days now. I agree with other reviewer, how can one do without a fridge for so many days. We also have medical issues in the family, and it’s critical for us to have the fridge to store important health related things. We considered buying a new fridge, but a $1500 fridge is not something we should have to replace in just 2 years!

When you call LG’s customer service, they connect you with a company called Puls. Then Puls has local techs to perform the service, which I was eventually informed they have only 2 techs to repair refrigerators in the Dallas area. Additionally, these techs are not able to produce liability insurance that my building requires. It’s hard to comprehend that LG hires tech who do not carry liability insurance!

So, I am waiting. No one ever calls me back, after promising they will call with 24 hours with an update. And when I call back, they repeat the same statement… “mam, please understand, we are trying, we will provide an update soon.” It’s 8 days now without any update and timeline for repair! At one time 2-3 days ago, I was also transferred to LG’s customer service escalation supervisors, and honestly, they have been useless! The supervisors also repeated the same thing that “we will escalate, please give us some time and we will get back within 24 hours.” First, I don’t understand that the escalation supervisors need 24 hours to get an update for me and secondly, they never called back. They didn’t do anything, as I am still waiting without any update! This is such a nightmare! Staying away from LG!!

This is now day 18 and no fridge. Please give me an in store credit and perhaps a FREE 4 year extended warranty to make things right. I offered a repairman’s name to you but no you didn't have a contract with him. Yet you did not have any licensed tech for a compressor.

Original Review: We are now at day 14 without a fridge. LG doesn't care. Days went by before they said they didn't have e a licensed tech for compressor. More days went by before given an approval number for in store credit then, I was told Assurance Solution Insurance co would take file now. They then decide there is a repair man to diagnose it. PSA: DO NOT buy an LG refrigerator. Both they, and the service company they contract with, A&E are absolutely horrible. Back story: I purchased an LG fridge 2.5 years ago to replace an aging one which was keeping food in the 56º range. The new fridge worked fine with the exception of the black satin stainless finish on it which had started peeling off. About a month ago I called to report that. They sent out a service tech who said it was a manufacturer's defect and it was covered. They would replace the doors in approximately two weeks.

About a week after that, the fridge quit working. I checked all the stuff a non technical person like myself knows to check: had the door been left open; was the air intake clogged. Nope and nope. I busted out the manual. They said to call LG if it was failing to cool so I got on the horn with their service. Shortly into the phone call, the customer service person says, "touch the inside of the fridge, does it have any condensation on it?" It did not. He told me it was the compressor and promptly scheduled a service call which was about a week out. So I threw out stuff which would perish soon, got freezer stuff to my friend's and cleaned the fridge so that it would not get stanky sitting closed up without power.

The tech shows up as scheduled, confirms it is the compressor and also the motherboard and orders parts. The parts arrive a few days later, they are the wrong parts. We are now a week and a half in. He blames it on LG (who knows if it was LG or A&E at this point) and says he is going to order the parts and they will be overnighted. Had this been the case they would have arrived on a Thursday, come the next Tuesday, there are still no parts, so we call again. Now the story is that they will be ordering the parts and they will be here tomorrow. LG ships the parts to the consumers home, and A&E will not schedule until the parts arrive so first you get to wait for the parts, then you get to wait for them to have availability in their schedule. The parts arrive, three days later they schedule the tech yet again.

They call the day that the repair is to be scheduled and say that the tech called in that day and they will need to reschedule. At this point another friend gets on the horn and basically tells them, "oh hell no!" and they miraculously find someone from Cape Girardeau and send him up. The guy puts the parts in, says to leave the fridge for 24 hours before putting anything into it. This was yesterday. Wake up this morning and the fridge is yet again a balmy 65º.

Call LG AGAIN .... and A&E is closed and won't be able to schedule anything until Monday. Which will then of course be another service call scheduled days out, another tech coming out saying, yes the fridge is not working, ordering additional parts, waiting for parts, waiting to schedule said parts to be told that the fridge cannot be repaired.

The fridge is under manufacturer's warranty. The failed compressor has a 10 year warranty. I have the extended 5 year store warranty. There are so many 1 ⭐️ reviews on the LG fridge and A&E with people who are having the exact same issues as I am with both companies on Consumer Affairs, this entire debacle is being repeated all over the place. We are now three weeks into this, the doors never did arrive, the fridge still doesn't work and we are waiting on service yet again. If I can save any of you the headache, I wanted to put this out there.

Updated on 10/28/2019: My report from 04/2019: This refrigerator was finally fixed 1 month plus 3 days later. October 2019: On October 6, 2019, the refrigerator/freezer stopped working again. I called LG and they had someone come out within two days. The technician stated the issue was a result of the compressor and condenser going out. The parts were ordered, we received the parts, and the technician arrived as schedule on October 18, 2019.

He went through the parts and found out LG shipped the wrong part. Today, October 28, 2019, A & E called me asking me if we received the parts. Sorry, but for the most part I do not know one part from the other. I thought we had all the parts, but A & E states we do not. We are still missing two parts and our service was scheduled for tomorrow morning. One part is not being shipped until tomorrow, but the other part is on backorder and has no ETA. I do not understand how someone can be expected to be without a refrigerator for a month at a time.

Original Review: I have had three LG French door refrigerators in the last seven years. The first one had door seal issues after being only 1 1/2 years old. It was a design flaw. No big deal. I got a little sick of dealing with the sealing issue so my husband and I purchased a new French door refrigerator. We had it a few days and noticed it did not cool as it should. LG had me do things like open / shut door several times. Change the temperature of the refrigerator/freezer. Then they wanted me to call back 48 hours later and let them know if it was cooling. So how do I cool my food in the meantime?

Found out this unit had been repaired several times for the same thing while at the dealer. REALLY! To be fair, this was a floor model. So I negotiated with the dealer for a new unit. I was so happy I got a new unit that worked. Well, now 2.5 years later, my new unit does not cool. Called LG again and we are playing the same game. Pull open and shut the door 3 times and call back after six hours if it is not cooling. It is not cooling. So now after the second call, I get a number to a service center. Called the service center and they do not go within 30 miles from our location.

Here we go again, 3rd call. Of course, I have to go through the whole routine again. Then they read our file. What they had in our file was that the doors were crooked. WHAT? I never said that. The doors are just fine. My husband and a good friend both repair appliances and they both said the doors are fine. The reason my husband or friend cannot repair it is because it is a sealed cooling system.

I even told them that it was most likely the cooling system per a service technician. Of course, why would they note that it is something they are responsible for.

So at the end of this call, I finally got the name of a qualified repair center. Called the repair center and was told that they cannot get someone out there for a week. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. What do I do with my food in the meantime? Bottom line is I should not be dealing with this same issue on a $3000.00 refrigerator within 3 years time, and I should not have gone through three refrigerators in seven years.

Updated on 05/10/2019: Where do I start! First of all, I stand behind my comment to stay away from LG! I have my 1st replacement compressor after 3 service calls and guess what?? It DOESN'T WORK!! Keep in mind it has taken over 3 weeks to get this far with a refrigerator that is less than 2 years old! I'd like to say that I am surprised! 48 hrs after the repair with a bottle of water in the refrigerator and a bottle in the freezer, neither are cold let alone frozen. LG's response was.... "What is the temperature of your refrigerator?" Are you kidding me? I just told that it wasn't working and that is the response I get?

Needless to say I am still waiting to hear what the next steps are because I was told that I don't qualify for a new refrigerator. There is a process that they will not elaborate on that needs to be followed and apparently it starts all over again with what is the temperature of your refrigerator.... WOW!! It is absolutely ridiculous! It should start with... I am so sorry for the issues this is creating and we will put a rush on another replacement compressor and schedule a new service date for the install immediately. Then it should be proceeded by... If we are unable to fix the issue we will STAND BEHIND OUR PRODUCT AND REPLACE IT!!! I think they need to take an ethics class and learn how to handle their business. RUN!! STAY AWAY FROM LG REFRIGERATORS!! Personally, I will never buy ANY LG product again.

Updated on 04/27/2019: I am on round 2 of trying to get the faulty compressor replaced with a new faulty compressor in my LG refrigerator. Oh yes... I said it!! They know the replacement compressors are faulty and are continuing to install them and forcing people to deal with their unethical business practices!! They were supposed to replace the pathetic compressor on the first appointment but chose to lie to me and schedule a diagnostic first even though I had already agreed to pay for the repairs on the off chance it wasn't the compressor. That's completely impossible by the way with all of their known compressor issues. The part that makes me extremely angry is the service tech had a new compressor in his truck but was unable to install it unless it was sent by LG specifically for my job or he would not be paid for the repairs.

Now I get to sit and wait for an undetermined amount of time until someone in their scheduling department decides to call me back to schedule the next appointment. I even tried to schedule the appointment directly with A & E (who LG uses for repairs) and they cannot help me until LG does their job even though EVERYONE KNOWS that the compressor is bad! This is absolutely the most horrifying thing I have ever heard of and a class action lawsuit could not be more fitting for this type of behavior! I will never buy another LG product and have made it a mission to tell everyone I possibly know how unethical they are and to stay away from their products!! This type of behavior will end up destroying this company and they deserve it!

Original review: They know they have a compressor issue with my model of refrigerator and have already been to my house once to replace the ice maker. My refrigerator is also less than 2 years old! Now, they will not even schedule a repair without the serial number (which they should already have from the previous repair) and could care less that I am without a refrigerator and have water all over my floor not to mention that it has ruined everything in my refrigerator and freezer! To say I am unhappy would be an understatement!!!

They came out, ordered three parts, had to set another 4 hour window for an appointment. After 5 1/2 hours yesterday, he said it is working and left. Checked this morning and is still warm and now vibrates loudly. So now another five hours stuck at home tomorrow while they attempt to fix it. This company is who LG uses so when not if yours breaks but when this is who you will be dealing with. This will be a total of 15 hours waiting on them and over one hour on the phone with LG.

This is an independent repair company who said almost all their calls are on LG refrigerators. LG has been a total waste of time dealing with. They truly could care less about me not having a refrigerator now for two weeks even if it is fixed tomorrow which there is ZERO chance of that happening. Updated on 05/15/2019: I left the scathing review and LG jumped on the post immediately and said they were going to check into it. It's now been about a month and a half or so and no word from anybody. I think they troll the site to try and offset their poor products and to make people think they are working towards good customer relations. Reality is they dont care to make it right by the customer and stand behind their products.

Original Review: One star review is being too kind. I purchased a dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave about five years ago on a package deal. The ice maker has failed and had to be repaired. The microwave has a door sensor that is bad and causes the carousel to spin when the door is open. My issue is with the dishwasher most recently. We called in a repair with service company from their site. The tech came out and called their technical support. He was instructed to replace a part. He ordered it and returned to install. This didn’t fix the problem of the error code. Again, he called LG technical support and was told to order another part to fix the problem. He did and it still didn’t fix the problem. We did this drill an additional two more trips and parts without resolve.

After several hundred dollars in parts and labor to repair the dishwasher, I still don’t have a working unit. I have personally called LG close to 15 times. Additionally the tech engaged them on every visit. After the time and the money and lack of resolution, LG has offered nothing in terms of support, compensation, or customer service. I was told on multiple calls to LG that I would be contacted by a supervisor to resolve this issue and not once were those calls returned.

We had to engage another service company in the process for a warranty motor that LG thought was the problem. Why I asked couldn’t the company that has been on the calls 5-6 times to the house install the warranty motor. The tech said that LG owes his company 90K+ in unpaid work they have done for them. I don’t know where this thread will go on the web or who will read it. My only hope is that it will save one other person the trouble of buying LG products and going through the frustration of poor customer service and poor quality products like I have never experienced. Ordered a new dishwasher from another company.

Three weeks later I was dealing with LG Customer Service as the compressor had twice made a terrible grinding noise. After several calls they escalated the issue for an exchange but stated it would take 5 days & to call back then which I did. When contacted after the 5 day period they again gave the exact same directive.

I was grateful Best Buy agreed to change it which they did the 1st week in April and advised if I had the extended warranty with Geek Squad they would have taken care of it right away so I bought it on the replacement. The split door on the replacement refrigerator would not close properly & the alarm for that door did not function. Contacted Geek Squad who wrote upon order for repair but the order would not allow it to be scheduled for repair as there are NO SERVICE REPS in this area.

How can anyone sell products that have a manufacturer AND an extended warranty when there is NO AVAILABLE SERVICE??? Best Buy sent 3 people from the local store & they offered to replace again but they only allow one (1) replacement on an extended warranty so if there would be anything wrong with the 3rd one I would be out of luck. So today I will go to Best Buy and hopefully get a full refund and go to a local appliance dealer (who services direct) to get a different brand that will cost more. Purchased LMXS30776S/02 fridge from H. H. Gregg in May of 2016, actually delivered in July. We were replacing a 10-year old Frigidaire gallery/professional side-by-side that was difficult to open fully due to our kitchen configuration. Aside from an occasional evaporator fan failure ($10.00 and 20 minute fix for a novice like myself), it never gave us a single problem and was a beautiful unit. The salesman raved about the durability of the LG linear compressor. We opted for a 5-year extended warranty (which is now defunct as the company that services this will not answer customer requests via their web page... which is the only form of contact).

It began on 04/16/2019 and ended in the complete lack of cooling sometime around midnight. The fan is running, compressor is running but noisy, no cooling, coils room temperature. I attempted to contact LG, but they don't answer the phone... They send you a troubleshooting email and then refer you to expensive 3rd party repair services once out of the 1 year (criminal) parts and labor warranty. Looking at parts, a compressor for an average fridge (in a kit with isolators, drier, harnesses, valve, etc) is around $150.00 for the average Electrolux/Frigidaire or equivalent. Sure, there is some soldering.

The same bare compressor for the LG is nearly $400.00 (because you can charge what the market will bear, forget being fair). The drier is an additional $60.00. I'm guessing that installation is basically going to be less than the total of the parts as is customary, and then there is the charge for vacuuming it down and installing the 4.76oz of R134 refrigerant. Not to mention the warped subfloor under our fridge from the ice in the ice maker melting everywhere and the loss of a few hundred dollars in groceries. Again, criminal.

There was a class-action lawsuit, however our fridge was brand new when this witch hunt began, so we had no reason to look for such a thing. Now that it has failed prematurely, I learn that warranties were extended for the few rather than the many. All in all, I'd like to thank LG for being so classy about ignoring this issue and the customers who paid a small fortune hoping that you actually do get what you pay for or at least be treated fairly when a problem did arise... just to find out that a college dorm fridge was probably a better deal. Thanks, LG. I hope your reputation eventually catches up with you!

I bought a whole house full of LG appliances after a house fire in 2010. None of my items went into use until June of 2011. In the summer of 2017 my ice maker in my lfx31925st stopped working and I did a troubleshoot online and tried everything it showed. I contacted LG and was told that they sell products with "disposable parts" on them and that in this time span it is not uncommon for this item to need repair. I was shocked that my $2800 fridge would be considered by the company to basically be made of disposable parts. This was just the start of my troubles.

About two months after this my freezer fan became very loud and I noticed my "frost free" freezer had a ton of ice in the back. I defrosted this but it kept happening and soon my freezer had stopped working and I had soup for ice cream and much unthawed meat. The fridge part still works somewhat if I keep only small amounts of items in there but I am unable to keep it well stocked as it will get to warm. I get from LG that I am no longer under warranty and there is nothing they can do. All I can say to anyone is stay away as this is not my only issue with LG.

We got an LGLMX25964ST/02 refrigerator 7.5 years ago. Last week water started leaking from the ice dispenser door. Two days after that my wife called to say that all the food in the freezer part had defrosted. When I got home I pulled the fridge away from the wall and checked the fan and compressor, they seemed to be running fine. I called LG and I was told the fridge is out of warranty and diagnostic would be $185 plus parts and labor! I am still trying to figure out what to do, fix the 7 year old one or buy a new one, from what I've been reading it's not going to be an LG. I have a 26 year old Amana refrigerator at my rental still going strong.

Then the filter compartment started leaking again. Got it repaired. And the biggest problem of all, the compressor died and it took a week to have it repaired. I've been a fan of LG products for quite some time. Never had any problems with the electronics and appliances I've bought from them until now. A few days ago, it stopped making ice and the freezer got warm, but the fridge still worked. I called the helpline and the smart diagnosis feature didn't work. I tried all of their troubleshooting tips but nothing worked. I didn't bother getting an extended warranty because of the trust and goodwill LG had earned with me over the years.

Now I have to pay 80 dollars just to have a tech look at it, and even if the parts are covered I could be looking at hundreds more for labor. I waited my whole life to get a water/ice dispensing fridge (45 years) but could never afford one. When my old fridge died in 2016, it was at the same time my stepdad gave us 2000 grand as a gift. We used that money to buy this fridge during a Black Friday sale at Lowe's. Not even 3 years later it's dead and who knows how much it will cost to fix. I've never been this disappointed since my Xbox 360 died but Microsoft made it right by sending a new console free of charge. I wonder if LG will be willing to do anything to rectify the situation. If not, I will never buy anything from them ever again, and will never stop being critical of their products and services.

Now a year and half later, on April 6 of 2019, the compressor goes again. My youngest daughter is due to graduate in June of 2019. I called my extended warranty and set an appointment for a technician to come out on Tuesday morning, April 9 from 8-12 pm. Get a call back to from the company that deals with LG products that they would need to reschedule my appointment because they would need to order a compressor. I was told it could come 1-2 business days or 2-5 business days.

Well today is April 14 and still no refrigerator/compressor. No calls to reschedule a technician visit, nothing. I called my extended warranty company which I purchase with Lowe’s in Philadelphia. A supervisor was suppose to call me back because I wanted to know what was the hold up and never did. They were to expedite the part, never happened. I also called LG company and no help as well. I would never purchase a LG refrigerator again in my life. I am letting family and friends know not to purchase either. In the mean time before the compressor went I had the ice maker fixed about 3 times. Do not purchase this refrigerator!!!

My wife and I purchased our LG refrigerator in Dec 2018, and it ran great for 90 Days. In March 2019 I had noticed that the freezer had started to warm up and ice started to melt. I called Lowe’s and they had told me that since it was still under manufacturer warranty, that I had to deal with LG. So first off I called and set up a service call. Their service window is from 8:00 am to Noon and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm... Ugh... so my wife took the first day off, and the service tech did not show up until 2:30pm, whole day of wages lost. The techy comes in my house and proceeds to tell my wife that I need to remove a set of cabinets or cut vent holes in the one above the fridge, because according to him the fridge gets too hot and causes the compressor to fail.

Crazy huh, so according to the owner’s manual, it states 1" on each side, 2" top and 3-4" on the back for proper ventilation, which I have. I designed my kitchen with this fridge in mind, so anyway I get home from work and the service guy is informing me that he does not have the right tools to diagnose my fridge. He said I need to set up another service call and he would get the right tools ordered, and he left. I have to say I was not happy about it. I argued with Lowe’s for the next 2 weeks trying to get a replacement, and Lowe’s could not do anything because of the warranty, so I call LG again and they will not replace it without a proper diagnosis. So it took another 2 weeks and multiple phone calls not only to Lowe’s but to LG as well to get this fridge diagnosed, come to find out the compressor went out after 90 days, didn't cost me anything but 2 day’s worth of wages and 400 dollar’s worth of food.

There was a design change (i.e. material change) that was done in 2018 to the top cover. LG offered me $500 for my pain, suffering, and inconvenience, which was a slap in my face. I was finally provided a refund for the defective unit, but they did not provide any interest for the 2 months that it took them to give me a check.

When they sent a company to pick up the defective unit almost $5,000 worth of damage was done to my home (i.e. new refrigerator was scratched, molding/trim damage, custom pre-hung door damaged and threshold broken), which has not been paid. LG said it is not their responsibility, but yet they sent the company to my home. I really appreciate Amazon's customer service, because they treat their customers like they would treat themselves.

About 2 months after purchasing the unit, the heating element that controls the defrost mode went out and had to be replaced. Also, this unit makes a horrible vibrating noise when the compressor runs. If I put my hand on the door, it immediately quiets down. When I told the technician about it, he said it wasn't anything he could fix. They sent another technician out and he said "this is normal" and that the new compressors are just loud. That doesn't make sense because when I put my hand on the doors, it immediately quiets down. National Platinum Services won't send anyone out unless I agree to pay a $95 fee. I refuse to agree to this as the unit is new and is under warranty.

LG says this is an installation problem and not their problem. LG told me to watch a video on how to level the unit and sent me a wrench for the doors. I have both front legs as high as they will go and the wrench they sent doesn't fit - one end is too small and the other is too big. LG confirmed that the wrench they sent is the only one they have for the refrigerator, yet no one can tell me how to adjust the doors without it. I talked with a supervisor who said they would send someone out free of charge to get it level but that never happened. A month went by and now LG is saying a new policy went into effect 2 weeks ago and I have to pay the fee. I find it highly suspicious that National Platinum Services avoided contacting me until the new policy took effect. BTW: Both technicians who came pulled the unit out from the wall without re-leveling it.

Now today the heating element that was replaced is not working properly and ice and frost is building up in my freezer. I'm beginning to think that the whole line of "your refrigerator is not properly leveled" is just a stalling tactic from LG and they know these units' defrost mechanisms are not designed/built properly. Perhaps this is why there's such a bad vibration and noise. They're just trying to waste time and wait for the warranty to run out. NEVER. BUY. LG. EVER.

Do NOT buy a LG fridge nor use Southland Technical for after service. LG has their own service techs but they are not qualified to do compressor work. So they contract out. Last hot summer, I was given the run around by LG for over 2 weeks to get someone to come see my broken down $3,000 fridge. They keep telling me how busy they are and finally they gave me Southland’s phone number to call. Southland came out, and $1,000+ later, I get my new compressor. Almost exactly 105 days later, the compressor broke down again!!! The service guy who came out in January told me this is the SECOND incident in last 2 days he has seen!!! It took almost 2 months for Southland to get back to me to confirm indeed the compressor had broken down again and due to some BS story, the fridge can no longer be fixed and they will have LG call me.

2 weeks on, LG called to tell me I am SOL because LG did not initiate the call to Southland and therefore LG is not responsible. LG offered me a $100 credit for my next LG fridge, REALLY!! I am suspicious it was a collision between Southland and LG to get me to buy a new fridge. Really Southland, you took $1,000 of my money, replaced the compressor. (Assume they did or perhaps an after-market no name???) And to tell me 105 days is outside the 90 day warranty period. Hands up out there if anyone knows a compressor to last only 105 days. (Yes, days, not months!!) Needless to say, never use Southland and never buy any LG products... Look around, less and less dealers are selling LG, only Costco because they do not have a service department so LG is a convenient partner for a lousy brand!!

The LG LFX25960St refrigerator has a dangerous issue with the inside lighting system catching fire and possible burning the consumer's house (property) down. This has been known by LG for years and they have failed to provide adequate relief to their customers. In my case I find it problematic the way that LG handled the issue with my LFX25960St refrigerator. They knew their LFX25960St refrigerator lighting system was defected years ago and had a high chance of catching fire. They also had a fix for this issue years ago and could have easily fixed my refrigerator before it caught fire, melting the lightbulb socket holder, rendering the system unrepairable.

It was my luck that eight hours before I was to leave on a four-day trip, I woke up smelling a strange smokie odor in my house. I went to the kitchen and the smell got stronger. When I opened the refrigerator door, I could literally see the area around the lightbulb socket holder melting (see attached photos). I immediately unplugged the refrigerator. Because I was leaving in eight hours, I had to throw out all my food. Now to some people this may not seem to be an earth-shattering issue, but to me, it’s unacceptable. To fix the issue they (LG Corporate) offered me 15% off a new refrigerator, only if I purchase one of theirs.

Although my refrigerator is older, there was no need for me to purchase a new one for years to come if they would have implemented the fix to the fire issue that was known to them. I have contacted LG USA, numerous times with no results. They continue to blow-me-off by not responding. This company needs to be investigated by the United States congress. They are purposely putting customers through a process that never solves the issue. I personally, will never purchase another LG product. For others, you need to make your own sound decisions.

We bought a brand new refrigerator from LG in 2013. No issues for 5 years. Around October 2018, the refrigerator stopped working and the refrigerator leaked water and damaged our floors. We called LG for repair and they said that the compressor is under warranty and we will need to only pay labor, which was around 350. So on October 31, 2018 the compressor was repaired and full service was done my a LG technician. The refrigerator again stopped working on Feb 23, 2019 with a compressor issue. LG gives a 90 day warranty on repairs.

So I contacted LG and requested if they can waive any fees related to this repair as I was just 20 days over the 90 day warranty. I got a rude response from LG after multiple attempts to follow up. They essentially said: RULES ARE IMPORTANT THAN CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I was shocked. It was bad enough that a replacement compressor broke and on top of this I had to face this from them. Anyways I got a licensed LG technician to come out and take a look at it.

The scheduling of tech visit is another story. 2 different people called me from LG, one saying the tech will arrive on Friday evening and the other saying Saturday morning. The tech himself called and he said Friday evening. I didn’t know who to believe. Finally the guy showed up on a Friday. He looked at fridge, said it’s a bad compressor and said there is a lot of dust, so he cannot repair the fridge. Now am I supposed to open the back of the fridge and clean the compressor? Apparently that’s what this tech expected. He said clean it and then call me. I will not touch it unless someone cleans it.

Please note that the same fridge was repaired by another LG tech some 100 days back. After this experience I said I had enough. I just got a used GE fridge. Some 12 days after, LG called to inquire the status. I told them I took their product to a dump, they said OK and were happy that they did not have to fix it. They didn’t even think once to apologize for this or give any compensation for the 2 times I lost weeks of grocery in a full refrigerator. LG sucks !! If you buy LG, life’s gone!!!

It started when we got back from a family vacation in mid July 2018. We have owned our LG refrigerator for 3 years and we are a family of 7. Upon our return from vacation, we went grocery shopping. The very next day our refrigerator failed and all of our food was spoiled. We had spent hundreds of dollars at Costco and other grocery stores. Home Depot Protection Plan sent out a company to diagnose the issue. Once they diagnosed the problem, they said they couldn't fix our refrigerator. We had to make another appointment but this time with an LG specialist, which took another week to schedule.

When they showed up we expected them to fix our fridge, but instead they had to diagnose and said they could not go off the previous company's diagnoses. Although, both companies said the refrigerator's compressor went out. We were then told the part was on back order due to these refrigerators breaking down from LG. The part didn't come in until September. Once the new compressor was installed we were assured within 48 hours we could use it again. Again we went shopping and and lost all of our food again. Once we got the company back out, they said it was a faulty compressor and they would have to order us a new one.

We have now had 2 food loss claims and 2 compressors replaced. Again, being assured the fridge would work, we bought more food. This time we realized the fridge was making weird noises and the freezer was not keeping our food frozen. After several more calls and several more service calls, our freezer is still not working properly 9 months later. Each time a new guy shows up telling us something new as to why this was happening. We have complied with everything they have asked us to do. We now have our fridge pulled out a foot away from the wall, which is a complete eye sore, and it is still not working properly.

We have had over 9 calls to the Home Depot Protection Plan company for the same issue and they are still not calling it a lemon! We recently had another appointment on March 15th, 2019 for a final diagnosis, and the company never showed up! We are throwing away so much food which is a waste of our time and money. My family and I are scared to buy a lot of food because we are afraid the LG refrigerator is going to break down again. Our plan states after 2 calls for the same issue it is considered a lemon and it would be a "Buy Out". We have had enough of this run around!

This fridge never cooled like it should from the day I bought it. I would hear weird noises from time to time, several times the freezer would start to thaw out. At first, I thought my wife had too much stuff in it but that wasn't the problem. Then it would start working again. A lot of food would spoil in this fridge. Well, it finally quit cooling altogether and we lost all of the food both in the fridge and freezer. I called Lowe's as I had an extended warranty and I also contacted LG. LG sent a new compressor and the wrong filter drier and scheduled the service facility to come out and make the repair.

The repairman came out and found a leak in the fridge evaporator. He ordered the new part, he came out to make the repair. Now, this is going on for 3 weeks. 48 Hrs later the freezer is working but the fridge is not. So after doing a little research online, it is clear that LG has major issues with their compressors and other components that they are aware of and there are several class action lawsuits against them. I have all LG appliances in my house as the salesman at the store told me how good the LG products are. The refrigerator is great, we have a bottom freezer also great, however the icemaker is extremely slow in refilling the ice. Water dispenser a bit slow. Great space in fridge. We added plastic drawers inserted into the large refrigerator drawer that spans the full width of the fridge...this makes it more useful and should be standard for flexibility!

The bottom freezer rolls out for easy access and provides a roll out drawer as well. Cost of operating, ease of use and reliable performance at a reasonable price... best ever!

Our refrigerator (model # LMXS30776S) is just over 3 1/2 years old, and this will now be the 7th time we’ve had it fail. Just last month, we had to have the ice maker replaced because of a leak. Five months ago, the evaporator, drier and ice maker assemblies were replaced as it was not cooling. The year before that we had to have the compressor and evaporator replaced along with a repair to the ice maker, losing a vast majority of our food in the process. Now, not only is the ice maker not working, but the fridge won’t cool below 52 degrees. Based on all of the complaints and class action lawsuits that have surfaced, this is a widespread problem that needs to be remedied. History would suggest that we will be in the same position in another 6 months down the road. LG needs to be held liable for the damages caused to their customers.

Wow can't believe I'm finding so many people with issues with their LG fridge. Ours is 3 years old and has been making loud noises for a while, had a couple service calls, defrosted a couple times, helps for about a month. Most recently - the WATER STARTED SPEWING FROM THE DISPENSER FULL FORCE ALL ON ITS OWN!! Thank God I was home because in just a few minutes our wood floors were covered with over an inch of water. I opened the door to stop it and then turned off the water supply.

Repairman came, here's our list of parts needed to repair: Rear panel fridge (cracked), $267.14. BiMetal freezer part (frosting), $48.65. Control board for updated freezer panel, $329.02. Freezer cover (control panel), $183.38. New dispenser, $280.36+labor. No support from LG on this, which is a shame because they obviously know there are issues with this fridge. It's going to the dump and we will be replacing with a non-LG product. We own a new LG washer/dryer and dishwasher, but this is definitely our last LG product based on this experience. Btw, our 23 year old Kenmore is still going strong in our garage! Will be searching for class action suits and ready to join as soon as I find one! LG lfxs32726S.

It is hard to believe that the big box stores such as Lowe's, Home Depot, Best Buy and Sam’s Club would continue to sell LG Refrigerators after the filing of a class action lawsuit against LG for manufacturing defective refrigerators and then deliberately failing to honor their warranties. These stores know there is a problem and are complicit in selling a defective product.

I bought my LG French door refrigerator on February 27, 2016. About 18 months after I bought it, I noticed it had problems keeping food at the correct temperature. Food in the freezer softened up and things in the fridge were cool not cold. I reset the circuit board a couple of times thinking this was the problem. After a few months, it finally died and it cooled nothing.

I did the on-board diagnostics using the LG app. It said nothing was wrong. Of course, if you didn’t want it to cool, they were absolutely correct. LG used to go by the name Lucky Goldstar. Yeah, go figure… A dumb name for a major conglomerate based in South Korea. They were “lucky” enough to sell a defective product to you. And you should get a “gold star” if you are smart enough to bypass this poorly manufactured item.

But I digress. The refrigerator comes with a 10 year compressor warranty, so no problem, correct? Just call them up and have them fix it. Uh, no. I have filed numerous repair claims for this fridge online. Not once have they responded. Then I simply called their 800 number. Each time we were told that someone was going to get back with us. When they didn’t, we called again. I think the number of calls might have totaled twenty. Not once did they ever show up, even though they said they would.

So I bought a temporary refrigerator while I waited and waited for LG to show up. Months have gone by and they never showed up, ever. So I have paid an appliance guy to buy a new compressor and install it for me. The cost for that was about 30% of the cost of the fridge when new. So the 10 year warranty on the compressor may as well be a 50 year warranty as LG has no intention of ever fixing your problem.

And guess what? LG has a class action lawsuit against them in the US for this compressor defect. This case involves LG’s design, manufacture, marketing, and sale of refrigerators with a faulty design or manufacturing process that results in defective compressors. The defect usually manifests shortly after purchase and well before the end of the anticipated useful life of the Class Refrigerators.

LG advises consumers to replace the compressors and they are often being charged for replacement parts despite such parts being covered under warranty and being charged for labor because such labor is not covered by warranty. Many have had to wait an undue amount of time to receive a replacement part due to a lack of available parts and/or a lack of available repair technicians. Some technicians refuse to work on LG fridges as they are not getting paid by LG for the warranty work.

Even LG’s own community site is full of complaints about no service and waiting weeks or months to have warranty work completed. Can you wait months for your fridge to be repaired? Don’t bother buying the extended warranty as no one will show up to honor the warranty. Check out the FB page, Life is Not Good for more tales of woe. https://www.facebook.com/LgRefrigerators/. The bottom line on LG refrigerators is that this is a dishonest company that no one should buy a refrigerator from.

He looked up my model and told me that I had a 10-year compressor warranty and assured me that he'd write up a ticket at no charge for labor or the service call.

I was able to get an appointment within three days and the service people were prompt and the repair was done within an hour and a half and my refrigerator is working beautifully. No call 3 hours later so I called again. This person gave me a completely different story and had me do completely different steps including sending in a picture of my receipt of purchase. In June of 2014, I purchased an LG Fridge/Freezer unit for $700 in good faith that the machine will offer me peace of mind, be long lasting, and keep its contents cool. Alongside it, I purchased an LG Dishwasher to complete my kitchen. Less than 5 years later, the fridge suddenly stopped cooling. At first, I thought that there was some spoiled food that needed to be examined/tossed as there was an unpleasant odor emitted from the fridge. I checked the freezer and all seemed to be frozen well, and the fridge was cool.

However, three days later, the source of the odor became clear. After opening the fridge, all the contents in there were defrosted and sitting at room temperature. All my steaks/roasts, seafood (salmon, crab legs, lobster tail, shrimp, mix), chicken breasts, ground beef, milk, cake, vegetables were defrosted at room temperature for at least 24 hours. I had to discard all this food. $400 worth of food, that I trusted my 4 year old fridge to keep cool.

I've spoken with three LG reps to try and remedy this. Out of my conversations with LG, I understand this: My compressor is under warranty for parts for 10 years. However, to replace it, I MUST have it sent to an LG Authorized/credited technician in my area who I will need to pay labour for. Alternatively, they have an out of warranty option called One Price, which will cover all costs for one low price.

What perplexes me is this... The labour cost for the in-warranty parts option amounts to $120 for a service call + $300 to repair the compressor. This is more than the out-of-warranty One Price option of $300. None of these repair options are satisfactory as the net cost of LG's manufacturing malfunction is equivalent to the cost of the fridge when it was new. The $400 LOSS that I had to incur + the $300 MINIMUM cost of repair is extreme for an appliance I had placed trust in to do its job.

Incidentally, it has come to my attention that there is a pending Class Action Lawsuit against LG for a widespread defect issue with the compressors that are used in their fridge units. The pending lawsuit is in the U.S.A, but one can surmise that if it is successful there, and a settlement is reached, that Canadians will have the ability to file a similar lawsuit if not covered under the initial Class Action.

As of now, I am extremely unhappy with the options that have been provided. I find it very discouraging that I am expected to pay an additional $300 AFTER I have been BURNED for $400. My faith has been shaken, and there is nothing to guarantee that I will not experience this again with LG. In fact, based on the class action lawsuit, it's seeming more likely that I will find no long-term solution with LG.

The company's warranty practices with regards to refrigerators is poor to say the least. How can an out-of-warranty option such as OnePrice cost LESS than the in-warranty option that LG offers? It makes very little sense to me, and I implore leadership at LG to reconsider these practices to improve their competitiveness in the marketplace.

Considering the various complaints about the condensers that LG uses in their fridges, I am unsure if my next fridge would be an LG, even if their warranty practices become overhauled. Same with the other way around -- if LG fixes their condensers but does not improve their warranty practices, it makes no sense to purchase another LG refrigerator.

In speaking with an LG Customer Service Supervisor, I was offered a meager $100 compensation for my troubles -- specified it is for food loss. Unfortunately, this will be able to replace just 1/4th of the food that was spoiled in the fridge that I trusted to keep it cool. Ultimately, if I accept this compensation, I am still out $600 to repair this fridge that worked for just four years... Love their phones though. It's a shame that their home appliances division isn't led the same way.

Considering that I have already recognized a ~$400 loss, at this point, my hope would be for LG to stand behind their product and offer a full courtesy repair, or offer a sizable compensation on all my discarded food items. That's the only way I can justify a $300 repair + $400 food loss on a $700 fridge. It's very discouraging to hear that I have to pay several hundred dollars in addition just to fix a problem that should not have occurred in the first place, AFTER I had already been subject to throwing out $400 worth of food... I don't feel anyone would be happy with that resolution.

After reading all these reviews, and after my own experience, I am very surprised, that this company is still on market. I bought my french door refrigerator LFX31945ST on July 2014 from Home Depot. On October 2014 it stopped working for a first time. Er rF code appeared. Called LG, they sent a technician. He showed me that ice build up behind the rear panel and blocked fan. He blamed us (or whoever installed the fridge) for not removing the plastic foil from the rear, which could cause this problem. Exactly after one year in October 2015 the same problem - first fan started making noise, and after two days eR rF code.

Called LG (thanks God, I bought extended warranty), technician came, replaced few parts, said everything should be OK. Since then, literally every month we had this pattern - fan noisy - eR rf code, technician replaced some parts (I get lost what he replaced), said everything now should be fine, next month fan noisy....etc, etc. Finally, when I started demanding money back and mentioned that next time my lawyer will talk with you, they sent a third company, who following instruction on the phone from, I guess, LG, altered some settings, and in November 2016 they fixed it. Refrigerator worked over the year without any problems. We hoped our problems are over. Not so fast!

In July 2018 refrigerator stopped cooling, no error code appeared, just we see the water one morning and thawed food. Called HOME Depot, they sent LG technician, who said that everything with the refrigerator is OK, and it got defrost because we did not close the door properly (!). OK, we believed in that, especially since this one morning refrigerator seemed to work OK. Not so long, after ~ four weeks again the same. Again, LG technician said we did not close the door properly, and we put too much food (!!). Home Depot protection plan refused to cover spoiled food, because "technician did not find any failure". OK, that was enough, I started very closely monitoring temperature inside, and noticed that it is consistently higher than it should be (nearly room temperature in refrigerator compartment, and around 34F in the fridge.

OK, called Home Depot third time. They sent a third company. After two weeks or so, several cancelled appointments, etc technician showed up and after 15 seconds staring at the refrigerator said that drainage (or something like this) needs to be replaced (very peculiar way of diagnosing). It took another month to order a part, schedule an appointment, etc, and when finally he appeared with part, he said that "refrigerator is not fixable". The same day I got the phone call from Home Depot that they will send LG technician to confirm this diagnosis. The same LG technician appeared and said that compressor needs to be replaced. Again, waiting two weeks (only two weeks) for part, and refrigerator was "fixed" in October 2018. Two weeks ago fan started making noise, and today morning eR rF code appeared. Called Home Depot this morning...

To sum up: when Home Depot protection plan expires I will throw away this piece of junk and buy new one, from different manufacturer. I will do may best to get my money back from LG or Home Depot, because in my opinion this fridge was inherently broken from the beginning. I will closely watch what is going on with that class action. STAY AWAY FROM LG REFRIGERATOR, otherwise you will soon write review similar to mine and hundreds of others on this webpage.

I purchased my refrigerator from hhgregg (which is now out of business, my luck) about 4 years ago. Maybe within a month of this huge investment, we started to have issues with the ice machine. We have had service call numerous times over the ice machine, which is quite shocking all for a simple standard feature on a refrigerator. Thank God we were still under warranty for the ice maker replacements, and even still after the repairs, we continued to have issues with the ice machine.

After hhgregg went out of business, so did our warranty servicing. Then, about a month ago, the compressor went out. Thinking that LG would stand by their products and offer servicing, that was not the case. From reading past postings, they are completely aware of the problems with the compressor failing on this model. They had a technician come out who confirmed that the compressor went out and to fix would be $$$$ (costly), and offer a 90-day warranty. The technician recommended that it wasn’t worth it and to go with a completely different brand! I was in complete shock! However, I truly appreciated his honesty, since it confirms that LG don't stand behind their products. Such a huge waste of money and disappointment. In January 2017 we lost refrigeration. This was the start of what felt like never ending problems. Because the fridge was less than one year old we had to use LG, not the Home Depot extended warranty.

LG responded that they would have a service person there after 4 days. In the interim, we lost all of our food and had no refrigeration. I complained about the delay and they fundamentally didn't care. The repairman came and could not repair it. He ordered parts which would take several days. I complained again to LG and said we had a lemon but they would not replace the fridge and we had no cooling. And the fact we were without the appliance did not matter to them. The parts came, they were installed and the fridge did not work.

LG said they would send another repairman which again took a few days. They would not acknowledge we had a lemon and they had ZERO empathy about our situation. They did not care that our $3,000 brand new fridge did not work and we had nothing. BTW we had also purchased a new LG washer and dryer the same day as the fridge but that meant nothing to them. It was a $5,300 order. I contacted Home Depot, who were wonderful. They sent us a small fridge to use.

The new repairman came. He said they need different parts. He picked them up himself the next day. He installed them and the fridge worked...for a few days. We had returned the Home Depot loaner fridge, we were assuming the problem was fixed. Then we lost cooling again! I contacted LG, they said we would get a repairman in a few days! I contacted Home Depot and they sent another loaner fridge. It took another 3 weeks and a few visits by different people before it was repaired. I put in a formal request for a replacement and LG refused it. Essentially saying that notwithstanding our problems, it was repairable and not a LEMON. Of course they knew their warranty would run out so if it was a LEMON they obviously did not care.

Today is February 10, 2019. My extended warranty ran out on Jan 25th, 2019. I couldn't buy a further extension (I tried to) because the "original price of the fridge was too high for an extension". That worried me given the history of problems. I was able to extend my washer and dryer and I did. Yesterday, the compressor started making a noise again. The same noise we had before the other failures. Although, the warranty expired Home Depot will service it because they have a 30 day grace period. Thank you Home Depot. You are an honorable business. LG, you are terrible. This fridge is a LEMON and should have been replaced. No-one should have this many problems and now be faced with future bills because of your company's failure to honor the quality of a product you make. LG is not an honorable manufacturer. Stay away from their products.

I will try to get to the point. 5 yr old French door fridge stopped cooling. Called customer service to diagnose problem. Used Bluetooth feature to diagnose over the phone. They told us the bottom door was not closing properly and to have repairman come out. Repairman said it was the compressor. Took a week for the new part to arrive and repair to be done. When I asked why LG didn't diagnose the compressor as the problem over the phone...he told us they don't like to tell people bad news. Wow!!! Really LG? We are using our warranty through Home Depot to be reimbursed for the loss of food and repairs. I would not recommend LG to anyone. The heart of the fridge shouldn't go out after 5 years. And paying extra for cool features like self diagnosis...was a waste!!!

Do not waste your money on anything LG. Bought a refrigerator. Within 7 months it stopped working. Sent a tech out. Fixed the problem. Now the refrigerator again is down, 4 years old, compressor went. Lost everything in the refrigerator because no error codes came up on it. Had the compressor, filter dryer and evap. Of course LG knows there's problems with their refrigerators, it been a known problem, but you still have to pay for labor. Well lo and behold. All that replaced and the piece of junk still not working. Will not take a charge. Tech company called LG to deem it unrepairable, now they want them to fix the capillary tubes and replace them. Since they want that repaired, I asked if they were paying for the labor? Of course not.

Look into it before purchase. Many Lawsuits over the same issue. Even if the repair is successful 3 months down the road you're fixing it again. Almost a month still no refrigerator and $400 worth of food in the garbage. The customer service reps know it's an issue and agree you'll be fixing it again and again but their PCP department for the techs still insist on having repair after repair done. Please do research on their products before you purchase. LG stand for Luxurious Garbage. Now I'm just bringing them to small claims court. Oh forget any repair place coming to change out the capillary tubing. NO ONE WILL EVEN TOUCH IT. Thanks LG for the Luxurious Garbage you sell, stick with TVs.

I purchased an LG French Door Refrig in Sep 2013 from HD at a hefty cost of $3,046, including 5 yr warranty. The fridge worked fine until 5 months after the extended warranty ran out. The units refrigerator and freezer areas stop cooling. I called LG service center and they diagnosed a failed compressor. They referred me to 5 authorized reps within 50 miles of my residence. None of the service reps wanted to touch the unit. They stated that LG refrigerators had high linear compressor failure rate plus LG was delinquent in remitting payment for their services rendered. LG's compressors are warranted for 10 yrs. but purchasers must pay for all labor and trip charges. The authorized reps stated the average cost of to replace the compressor was between $600-$1200. This is no way that I would invest this amount of money for such a high failure product. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!

We purchased our LG refrigerator in December 2012. It was a bottom freezer unit with French doors in stainless steel. A 36 inch wide model that set us back just over $1200. It was a good looking appliance with nice features but not very durable. In November 2018, just weeks before Thanksgiving, the compressor failed. I got online and read numerous horror stories about dealing with LG to have the unit repaired. I was coming up with estimates of around $900 to repair. We found the quickest way to solve our problem was to write it off as a bad decision and get something else. When we were purchasing our new one, not affiliated with LG of course, the salesperson at the store said her LG only lasted two years. I guess we were fortunate to get almost six years before ours gave up the ghost. I have heard newer appliances are not as durable as older models. But something this costly should last for at least ten years if it is taken care of.

I am very disappointed with LG product. I have had a broken refrigerator since December 25, 2018. The first time a technician from LG had come to fix it was December 30th. The technician has been coming back every week since then and it is still not fixed. It's only been 17 months since I've purchased this refrigerator and it has not been working properly for more than two months. I bought it on July 4, 2017. The first repair was on 10/30/17, the second on 03/23/18, and the third on 05/15/18.

Now I don't have working refrigerator again. I need someone to take action or I am going to take legal measures. This seems like an issue not just I but many other customers have had and the issue is still not being resolved. Not only is this a time consuming process but also a financial loss. Since not having a fridge for over a month, we haven't been able to buy store food and only take out. This not only takes even more money out of my pocket but requires me to take time off work because of all the appointments. Not only is the fridge not working but the last time a technician came on January 25, 2019 he scratched the fridge and left a black burn mark. I am so frustrated and disappointed with not only a product but the services. I would really just like my money back so that I can buy a new, scratch free, and working fridge. I have attached the pictures of the damage.

Going off all hours of the night. I have called Lowe’s to get nothing but a runaround, called LG numerous times, one service man showed up and never returned. The next appliance repair man notified me and cancelled due to LG not paying service providers for their work. On top of when I call LG, I am placed on hold for over an hour every single phone call and never make any lead way. I actually filed a claim the beginning of November 2018 and just a few days ago they tried to say my warrant had expired. I am irate and feel with all the complaints I have read on here, the company should be shut down by consumer service.

How ridiculous to take advantage of consumers. Also, their extended warranty is just like throwing money into a fire. So useless! I have never been so upset over a purchase of any appliance like I am today with LG. I will never purchase another LG product nor will I ever shop at Lowe’s again! Less than one year old and no one will stand good for this “Lemon” of a refrigerator. I hope these people that treat others so bad get what they deserve after leaving this earth. Some of us work hard, do the right thing, and get walked on by shysters like LG.

Very, very sad! I teach children to make the right choices in life. How upsetting to have to deal with inconsiderate businesses like LG. I really feel for the people that work for them. I would be embarrassed to admit that I worked for a business like LG. If you can’t afford to stand good for your products, you should just quit building junk!!! It’s a big rip off! LG is JUNK! We have had an LG refrigerator for 6.5 years (Model LFC25765ST). It stopped cooling one day. When I called LG Canada's Customer Service Center (in Manila, Philippines) the agents were all very pleasant and professional. However, the experience to get a qualified technician out to support or repair the problem was beyond belief! The management in charge of this division, or divisions responsible to coordinate, and execute on field service and repair are irresponsible and doing incredible damage to the LG brand. Because LG insists on doing the services themselves, the experience is HORRIBLE! They have 'authorized' a very small number of local companies/technicians to do warranty work as well, but the list is really short, and should include a much larger list of qualified service techs.

I have 3 LG appliances currently. When I bought them, they were all serviceable by the company/dealer I bought them from. LG changed that a few years back, and really screwed up the potential to have appliances repaired by qualified companies with a positive experience. The details of all the pitfalls of my experiences over a 6 day period and my 9 different calls to the customer service group are too numerous to list here. JUST AVOID using LG techs to perform service if you already have an LG appliance, and AVOID BUYING any LG appliances no matter what!!!

After reviewing on the internet, it would seem that LG has a major problem with this model compressor FC75LBNA. and instead of doing a recall or ensuring the problem with the compressors are fixed, they continue to sell the same compressor with the same fail issue.

My local service tech who inspected the refrigerator said every other LG unit he attended to had this exact problem. (Yes there are more suckers like me here in our country who got fooled by LG) Long and short LG USA said my warranty is void because the unit was shipped out of the USA. This was not told to me by the sales rep at Brandsmart who were quite happy to take my money. Purchased new refrigerator from RC Willey 18 months ago with our new house, have had an LG frontload washer and dryer for over 7 years without an issue. Fridge had great reviews and we really liked the door-in-door. Has worked flawlessly until yesterday. Found water all over the floor (luckily we found it quickly and cleaned it up, it would have eventually ruined our laminate floors (except I have not pulled out the fridge to check underneath). Checked with the manual and went through all the troubleshooting, nothing worked. Called customer service, and they quickly set-up a case number and scheduled a technician to come and see what is wrong.

Had the service company call me the next day and confirm an appointment for the following day (Good so far, right? Except all of our frozen food is thawed. Luckily my wife is a florist and she has a floral cooler that we put our refrigerated items in). Two hours later the same person called back and said that they can't do the service call, they do not do LG warranty work. They would call LG and have them schedule someone else. Wanting to make sure that no-one dropped the ball, having no fridge/freezer is a major inconvenience, I called LG service back and asked if the cancellation had been taken care of and a new service company scheduled. It had not.

The customer service person was apologetic and said that they needed to get an authorized service company scheduled to come service the refrigerator, because not all companies are equipped to handle cooling issues. Why wasn't this already figured into the request? The person also let me know that the service will hopefully get set up tomorrow (Friday 1/18/2019), and I should hear back next Monday or Tuesday. They gave me another case number. So I went back to the original text response I received from LG Customer Service, it indicated an authorized repair service located 68 miles away. Except I called them and they won't do any work on LG refrigerators without a work authorization code from LG.

A cooling issue? They told me they aren't equipped to work on LG cooling issues anyway. So then I started looking on-line to see if this was a common problem. Way too many nightmare customer service stories for an issue that is an obvious defect. I would not choose to be without a fridge/freezer for any length of time, and would want to replace it with another product quickly. Pretty disappointed in this product that was pretty expensive.

This is an expensive refrigerator, and it looks nice. BUT... the compressor wears out easily and makes a horrible loud vibrating/buzzing noise that drowns out conversation in the kitchen. After the first time it fails, LG charges hundreds of dollars to replace the warrantied part (service isn't covered) and then when the darn thing starts vibrating like crazy again just weeks after they "fix" it, they want hundreds of dollars to come out to replace the part again. And they're rude about it.

Bought my LG REFRIGERATOR on November 18th, 2015. Right away it had a noise coming from it. The first of December 2018, woke up to a puddle of water in front of the refrigerator. Opened the door and the freezer was warm. Called LG, they sent a technician out, he had to replace the compressor and the circuit board, waited 1 week for parts to come in. Technician came and replace the parts. 2 days later, something happened AGAIN, waiting for another week for him to come out (because he was busy doing other repairs), he added Freon, that lasted for 2 days, then the day before Christmas eve 2018, he came out and put more Freon in it. The Technician CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. Now, it's December 29th 2018, still not fixed.

We been on the phone with LG for the last 4 weeks. All they keep saying is that they will send the repair guy out. Now mind you, I had to throw out over 500.00 worth of food in the beginning. They are going to refund us a check for 150.00 and the Technician already got paid for the job, 250.00. He's been out 3 times so far, each time for at least 4-5 each time. All LG WANTS TO IS KEEP TRYING TO FIX IT. It seems to me with all of these problems that all of us consumers are having, that they would just replace them... I'm still without a refrigerator and have 2 little kids. THEY DON'T CARE. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LG REFRIGERATOR. FROM NORTHEAST OHIO.

We bought our LG refrigerator 12 years ago and it has been a source of aggravation ever since. It has had to be worked on numerous times. Leaks water from the ice maker and now makes crazy suction noise. We have our Whirlpool refrigerator in the garage, nearly 25 years old and has not had one problem. All I can saw is DON’T BUY LG or be prepared for lots of problems. I am afraid with this latest noise that it could catch fire! We will have to buy a new refrigerator soon because we can’t live with this constant aggravation, Even though we paid more for it than any refrigerator we have ever had!!!

Purchased my $4k LG French door 26 cu ft refrig/freezer in Nov 2015. In June 2017 the refrig/freezer failed and not operable, had to throw all my food away. Repaired with new compressor. On December 26, 2018, the exact same problem occurred! Threw my food away again! the earliest a tech can come is on January 9, 2019! This appointment was after I complained about the first Jan 16th appointment given! Need another new compressor. Prior to this LG, I had another LG and its compressor that failed twice in the 3 years I owned it. Why did I buy another LG? Thought, "What the odds of this happening again with a brand new LG." Well now I know. It must be a defective design that occurs repeatedly to a Lot of LG owners! Never will buy another LG!

We purchased this LG refrigerator (LFXC24726D $3,022.99) from HDP in 2016 and have had the compressor to go out in Sept. 28, 2018. We lost all of our food, which they did not replace. This just happened to occur a year after the loss of my husband. This added to the agony of life's challenges. Now less than 3 months later the freezer goes out. This is now the food in the freezer lost. LG initially said there would not be a charge for the repair. The technician arrives and tells me that there is a charge because this is a different issue not related to the compressor.

On December 26, 2018 (my birthday) I called LG and was on hold for an extreme amount of time, only to get transferred again to speak to supervisor Sharon to tell me that there will be a charge; but as a courtesy they will give me a one time credit for the loss of my food in the amount of $125.00. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! $125.00 FOR WHAT HOUSEHOLD IS THIS!!! We lost all of our food in September 2018 and then on December 24, 2018 we lost all of the food in the freezer! I explained the age of this refrigerator to the LG representative Sharon, the issues and all the loss incurred. She proceeded to tell me that there is no one else I can speak to (before I could even ask) and that I would have to pay the service fee.

LG SUCKSSSSSS!!! After all of the food we have lost at Christmas!! I am so sorry to have ever purchased this refrigerator. I am even more regretful to have any LG products in our home at this low grade of customer service. I am no longer an LG supporter and advise anyone who is spending their hard earned dollars to spend it where it will not be wasted like this because this just is not right. I AM SO UNHAPPY WITH LG!! They could have easily diffused this situation by not charging me the service fee; how awful and unprofessional!!

Purchased new LG French door in December 2016. Have had at LEAST five service calls due to the cooling system quits working. Have had runaround from LG folks. They insist on repeated repair calls. This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had. As of today, we have had at least two compressors replaced and now waiting for a whole new evaporation system to be installed. I am amazed that LG has spent time and money on trying to fix this lemon instead of just refunding money so we can get a refrigerator that actual works. Extremely disappointed by the quality and treatment we have received from LG.

Have had the fridge over 2 years and the fridge stopped cooling, woke up to a puddle on the floor from the indoor ice maker melting... They only cover 1 year of parts and labor and 10 years on compressor itself, what a surprise... It's like they know it would break after a year... Good thing I have an extended warranty with Home Depot which covers parts and labor an extra 3 years. If it breaks again in 2 years I'm just going to trash it... This product was made to fail, don't buy.

Our fridge died after 15 months. It took 3 days for LG tech to come out and change the compressor. After 3 weeks second compressor went down too. Again another tech came out and replaced the compressor. And now here is the nightmare. As soon as tech left unit started making a loud banging noise. Called LG again and same tech came out. Worked on it and left. It took less than 30 minutes for noise to come back. Next day same tech comes out and worked on it but he really didn't know what was wrong. He left and same problem. The banging is so loud that we can hear it from our bedroom. It got so bad that I had to pull out the unit and unplug at 3 am. And now LG sending the same tech out for the 5th time. This unit cost us $3100...

We purchase a LG refrigerator Model LFX28968SM on November 29, 2016 from Home Depot and it had a 1 year warranty. On September 2018 the refrigerator section was not cooling below 60 deg F. I called the two LG Authorized Service Centers and they would not respond. I called another repair center and they ordered the part that arrived after 2 weeks from China and it did not fit. They tried to order a replacement and after six weeks they were unsuccessful. We discarded the LG refrigerator and ordered a brand that was made in the US. It was a terrible experience that cost us $2,000.

We just took our LG fridge to the dumps. Within the first year we were having problems with the ice maker and were advised to thaw it out and make sure the ice maker didn't freeze up. Then the compressor had went out after less than 4 years. The authorized service shop for northern Utah is Mark-A-Newt. They will not work on a LG fridge anymore. They said that in the last year they have only been paid once for the work they have done for LG, and they don't know of anyone who will work on them. They advised us not to buy another one. I plan on telling everyone I know about LG.

Thought LG would be a superior product and good warranty. 2 yrs and the compressor is out. Told by tech guy that it is a thing with LG and they have only last about 2 yrs and will have to replace again. We have scheduled service and have been canceled 3 times. Going on 3 weeks without a fridge. Had to throw out food. Have missed 3 days of work. The people on the phone have no idea what they are doing and transfer you around and have to tell your problem again and again to each person. They say what you want to hear to get you off phone but then do not follow through. Again supposed to be here today and got a call that they are overbooked and rescheduled AGAIN. Do not be fooled by this company. Do not buy LG appliances. Their warranty is for crap and you will wait and wait and have to call a dozen times.

My LG washer is a few years old with a 10 year warranty but they charge a $125.00 service call for each call and then labor on top of the service call which means after one service it is cheaper to buy another washer machine. Yes you can buy a much better washing machine for less than two service calls over 10 years!! Buyer beware of this garbage washing machines! Not to mention their 3,000 refrigerator my family purchased. I loved the LG brand for TVs, etc. Not anymore. They lost a lifetime customer!

You know I expected that LG would be a good company and that if should something happen to my recently purchased LG fridge, that they would provide good service to me. How wrong I was. LG really let me down with not just their product - this new expensive fridge that broke that just after 1 year, but especially with their service. I asked if they could provide a service technician and the only one in my area won't repair the coolant system. So they purposely have the only technician in the Greater Vancouver area not do coolant systems.

This seems designed to frustrate customers. They then said they could get another technician a week later who would cost $500 for labor (5 times the other service rate). In the end, I decided to scrap my fairly new fridge and get a KitchenAid fridge because it's a better quality product and KitchenAid does right by its customers. LG is a really terrible company and I would recommend staying away from their products if you don't want to go through service hell.

We purchased a refrigerator from a chain, product arrived to our home in good shape. While install, installers dropped door and smashed ice maker. Had to take fridge back and it took two months to receive new fridge. When new one arrived they had to take doors off. Upon reinstalling the doors the door with ice in it, it was uneven with other door. When we asked about this they said that once ice was in door it would settle. It didn’t. We called store. They said we had to contact manufacturer. We called them and waited to receive a callback. Never received call. We called back and LG told us they would have installers back out to fix refrigerator. Company never showed.

Called LG again and never received a callback again. We called back again and was told that company no longer does work for them. They told us that they would send someone else out, never showed. We call but it takes a while to receive calls back. We are now told that it has been too long and we would need to pay someone to come out and fix it. It has never been right since purchase and we can not get the store or the manufacturer to make this right. We continue to just get promises until it has been too long for any help.
