We have a Rental Business, and bought numerous Lasko Space Heaters, and Fans. Did not have good luck with some units. Discarded a couple. Was about to discard 2 more when I noticed the boxes on top of the cabinets: 3 years warranty.... I immediately called Lasko. They admitted that they no longer produced one of the read receipts... No wonder we had such bad luck with ours.... They were going to replace with a different model. No problem... They made me read the cords, the receipts, the units... They wanted the cords cut and mailed, and receipts. I did all that.

One more expense, but, they would have replaced 2 of the 4 bad units.... Then, I never received anything, so I called them again. Now, it became a phone tag chase... They alleged that they had 1 cord, no receipts... One lady said that she could see that things had likely fallen out during shipping... (or perhaps in their hands...) Hunted. More receipts sent. Many contacts, letters. They do not answer their phone supposedly "due to Coronavirus"... Give me a break... Can't answer a phone during Coronavirus???? Online Chat has been attempted numerous times, all to no avail... They have a site, so I e-mailed them that way.... No reply ever... That left the mail.... So, I sent letters and receipts again.... NO replies at all.

This year alone, we bought 8 Lasko Space Heaters and 6 Lasko fans.... We seldom use the items. So, I do not know if they are a good product, or not. I buy in quantity to have extra items in case we need them... just to be prepared. I am angry that the Lasko Company wrote 3-year warranty, and does not stand behind it... It is unfair, deceitful, false advertisement... To be put through extra mailing expenses, and all that running around for nothing.... just to be ignored, is simply ruthless. Extremely disappointed.

I purchased the Lasko Designer Ceramic Heater #6435 on December 27th, 2019. I used the heater approximately 15 times since purchasing it. On March 31, 2020, the electrical cord caught fire at the outlet. Fortunately it was the only thing plugged into that outlet at the time, so the damage was to my wall and outlet only in addition to the heater cord. The heater was on low at the time and I had been using it for about an hour. There was nothing wrong with my outlet. The plug fit snugly into the outlet originally and afterward it was fused to my outlet and I had to yank it out so hard that it pulled the plate off the wall. I ordered this on Walmart's website so I have proof of purchase. I will contact the company and update this review. I think there needs to be some type of legal action taken against this company.

Bought numerous Lasko Space Heaters these past 3-4 years, for all the rental Units. There were problems. Units were not as great as expected. Two were discarded. Recently, I noticed the boxes said 3-year warranty, and, we were about to discard 2 more units... So, I contacted the Company. They said that they no longer produce that model (that explains why we had so much bad luck with our units.) But, they'd replace with a different model. Now, they wanted the receipts and cords. I found the receipts, and read the receipts and numbers from the machines and the cords, over the phone. Now, they wanted things mailed. So, I did all that. Then, they said that they only received one cord.... And, they also claimed that the numbers from the cords and machines, were 10 years old. So, the excuses for not honoring the warranty: don't make the same models, models are 10 years old, missing a cord, missing receipts.

I could not sleep.... I felt cheated and disrespected.... Once you mail the receipts...how can they say that they never got it? They claim to have received a cord... Well, that proves that something was bought, and mailed... (Plus, I had read the receipts on the phone before mailing them...) I took a picture of what was left in the garage (boxes and units), before discarding everything, and made a copy of when the rental units were purchased, which was not yet 5 years... That, should have proven that we had been good customers, had bought many units, and the copy of the property, being less than 5 years...proved the purchase to likely be less than 5... And who would have bought the space heaters the same day as the rental units? Of course not... So, we were within the 3-year warranty, as read on the phone....

One lady called and admitted that the tapes were torn, and, that, likely, a cord and the receipts had fallen out, but, she still had 1 cord... The honest, decent thing to do, would have been to replace the units, and thank us for being such good customers? I never heard any further, and never received any replacements. I phoned today.... And, they will NOT replace the space heaters. So....before doing business with Lasko Company...think about this story. I felt disrespected and cheated, and still do. In my opinion of the events, Lasko Company is NOT an honorable, decent Company. SHAME on Lasko Company for producing bad space heaters, and mistreating and disrespecting customers.

At first I thought the heater (Lasko Model CT22410) was emitting a strange odor but I later discovered that the odor was coming from my outlet which was overloading. I removed the heater and purchased another brand. The odor was the same when I turned on the second heater. The heater was pulling more watts (1500) than the outlet would allow because I also had a salt lamp pulling the same amount of watts plugged in to the same line. The room I use the heater in is a new addition that was wired for a specific amount of wattage use. The outlet burned and circuit breaker tripped. Thank God my house did not catch on fire! I called an electrician and he explained all this to me. I no longer have an issue with the heaters now because I have now moved my salt lamp to another room of the house which was wired differently years ago. Plus, I now have two space heaters that work fine.

I'm echoing the sentiments of most prior reviews. I bought the CT22410 for my Very small apartment. I just needed something to take the edge off. This heater was relatively inexpensive, had a remote and a timer function. The first one lasted one week before it just wouldn't come back on. I found a suggestion online to shake it and unplug it for 10 minutes. That worked but I bought another because it did produce the heat I wanted but I wasn't about to unplug and shake it prior to each use. The second one, somewhere within one month of purchase, fried the outlet, the plug in from the unit, and melted the plug inside the outlet. I almost tore the outlet from the wall trying to unplug the POS. It's a good thing it didn't start a fire and dang lucky no doubt.

You know, one or two bad units and reviews can be written off as anomalies. The same can be said for just one or two good units and reviews. People if you care anything about your safety amd that of your family, pets, neighbors and friends, RUN away from this company and don't look back. Their heaters are disasters waiting for the next family (and home) to destroy. You'd be better off with an open campfire in your living room. No false sense of security with a campfire. DO NOT BUY THESE HEATERS. THEY ARE ELECTRICALLY FAULTY. SPEND $20 MORE DOLLARS FOR ONE THAT WON'T KILL YOU!

I have purchased five of these over the last few years. Three quit working. I thought perhaps it was an issue of it drawing too much electricity since two were in the same room. I exchanged one, trashed one and the last one doing the same thing. It runs for about ten minutes and then shuts off. We have moved and I brought two of them with me and the same thing. The last is going to the trash today. Stay away from this product, they are faulty.

I can't believe all the one star experiences here with Lasko Heaters! I have three Tower heaters and two smaller heaters all made by Lasko. Three of them are going on their 5th year and still working like brand new! Before I found Lasko I had bought at least, three or four space heaters from different companies at Walmart. I had horrible experiences with every single one of them and return them one after the other. After my last return I was telling a woman working behind the counter for Walmart that I was about ready to give up on space heaters. She said "Do yourself a favor and go back there and buy a Lasko heater... I'll guarantee you you'll be happy and you won't be returning it." That was 5 years ago and she was right. It's still here working like brand new and I did not return it.

Since then I have bought nothing but Lasko space heaters and never had a single problem with one of them. After reading all these one star reviews, how can I be that lucky... Very strange! Maybe it's the model of heaters that I bought... I just don't know. Two of the oldest Lasko heaters I own are the "Lasko Ceramic Extended Heat Zone Tower CT30710". One is 5 years old, the other, four years and they still work like the day I took them out of the box. The other three I'm not sure about their model numbers but they also work fantastic.

Anyway, I wanted to share my Lasko experiences here today. I have no answers for the bad experiences I've read about here today but I do know that all space heaters have a certain criteria that you must pay attention to to be safe. I had breakers pop in my house a couple of times because I had two of these heaters on the same breaker but that isn't the heaters' fault, that's my fault. Also you never use extension cords with a space heater. You're asking for a fire there.

Even keeping the heater clean can extend the life of it. I've been to people's houses where the dust and lint were on the inlets and outlets of their space heaters... There is a fire waiting to happen. Common Sense goes a long way when using a space heater. I'm guessing space heaters are probably built, basically, all the same and if you went to each company's site you would probably see the same horror stories I'm reading here for each and every company. That's my opinion, anyway. Thanks for reading.

I contacted Lasko and they told me the heater was out of warranty and there is nothing they could do about it. They did offer to for me to send in the cord and they would examine it. I've had enough with Lasko and I recommend if you have a Lasko heater throw it into the garbage before it burns your house down. Thank god the circuit breaker kicked.

This winter I noticed a strange chemical odor and I researched where this odor could have come from. I deduced that because I have an olfactory phantom disorder that it must have been acting up again. It was then that I noted that my heater was leaking a white liquid that looked like a chemical substance and decided to write to Lasko. Online I learned of many complaints pertaining to this odor and realized that I was not imagining this odor and have been concerned that breathing this substance and experiencing what I thought was sinus headaches could be derived from the Lasko heating unit. So details are not important. I'm 42 years old, and I think we should all do what our grandparents' generation would have. We should all drive to their main headquarters and stick our heaters on their front lawn.

Wouldn't it be interesting to see how many that would be?? Heck extend that to any of their crappy broken poorly manufactured products. Our grandparents' generation didn't lay down and take crap if they didn't like something they made sure they were heard. I called customer support at Lasko and was told to use compressed air to clean it "and if it still doesn't work you can buy a new one." I used the compressed air and it worked for one more day and quit again. The design of this fan does not allow you to clean it. I sent an email to the company complaining about the product and never got a response. I would like a response and a refund or replacement since the product is not made to work once dust or lint collects.

I have had model CC 24841 for a year now. Just started using it the second year and the plug at the wall socket melted and was welded to the inside of the wall socket, took a lot of force to pull it out of the socket. Now unit is unusable and I do not get any help from customer service, they do not answer. Also after reading reviews here on other units, I realized a horrid burning toxic order I was having when I used my heater was actually coming from the heater not another source. Which I had hunted and hunted for what was causing it not realizing it could be a new heater doing it. The smell would make me sick at my stomach and when I woke up after a night of using it I would have breathing problems.

I have a heart condition and this is not a good thing for anyone to experience much less an unhealthy person. And what about children??? This is so dangerous. These heaters should be removed from the market, I could have been burnt to death if I had not been awake when the heater plug fused into the wall socket. Lasko Heaters and their customer service people added much unnecessary problems and stress for 3 years. I used a Lasko heater that caused a TOXIC burning smell in my house that lingered and resulted in my removing so many things such as rugs in my house. And me hiring so many professional for services trying to find the cause of the odor with no success. Spent so much time and money spent for this unnecessary problem. The heaters worked great so I bought 2 more. Wondering if the smell could come from the heater I called Lasko. Many problems reaching them. They told me there could be no way that the odor could come from the heaters. I called them 5 times in 3 years asking questions such as do they have a filter to clean. They answered "No" to all.

The last heater I purchased had a toxic plastic burning smell that made me sick. And the plug got hot and blew a fuse also on one of them. I emailed them twice and called leaving messages but no response. Then I found many reviews on Amazon of users with the same experiences. I am still trying to determine how I will deal with this. Lasko 755320 Ceramic Tower Heater - My fiance and I purchased this space heater through Amazon on January 11, 2015 this past winter for our reptile room, as the house gets very cold during the winter months. The heater never worked accurately since day one and would occasionally go above the selected maximum temperature guidelines we would set. It would frequently go as many as 10 degrees past that. We walked into the reptile room this week on May 6th, 2015 at approximately 5:00 PM to find the space heater had turned on by itself. Not only did it turn on by itself, but it did not stop. The thermometer in the room was pinned at 120 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT.

The space heater had been running for God knows how long and sat at its highest capable reading of 99 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT with no safety fan or mechanism in sight. We found our three beloved Crested Geckos dead. My two Gargoyle Geckos barely survived and the eggs from our now deceased geckos seem to be hanging on by a thread. I am not optimistic about their future. We are baffled as to how it not only turned on by itself, but Lasko has absolutely no safety features and DANGEROUS product mechanics. There is no telling if the heater would have ever shut off or burned down the house had we not come home when we did. When we left that morning the heater was plugged in and OFF. Whatever controls the heater's temperature gauge or thermostat must have malfunctioned, causing it to run without any end in sight.

There are several other very specific Amazon reviews from consumers who have experienced very similar and almost exact results from this Lasko heater. We have attempted to contact Lasko by phone multiple times now and have not heard back, nor have we even reached a live person. After being put on hold for hours at a time, we feel we have exhausted all other options. We will be filing a complaint with the BBB, Amazon, and pursuing legal action to have Lasko reimburse us for the cost of our deceased geckos and the cost of their product. We seek that they remove these highly dangerous products from the market and issue a statement acknowledging the defective products and their negligence to recall them after multiple complaints from others referencing these similar issues.

As devastated as we are about this loss, we are also concerned for others and don't wish it on anyone to see the horrible sights we saw that day. What if this were to happen to someone's child? We cannot sit by and do nothing while countless others are at risk. Do not buy any products from this company if you value safety. You will be putting you, your pets, family and loved ones at risk.
