They only have 1 star because I am not allowed to give them 0. When you are in Bob's Furniture Store, they are quick to encourage this foolish warranty plan, stating that you can get UNLIMITED service, your furniture replaced or fixed for just about anything easily, for the next 5 years. That is a complete lie. They will never replace anything, will at most give you a voucher for much less than what you paid for any item.
I have had had an accidental stain on one of my 4 chairs, Tried to put in a request, they declined a fix or replacement, but they did offer a voucher, which you would assumed would be the price of the chair, but is nowhere near close. And what is worse, is that afterwards I had a different issue on a different chair but cannot submit any claims because I have already "collected" from a claim.
I let them know I have 4 chairs, one bench and a table and this claim is for another part of the set, and I don't see how my 5 year unlimited service can be cut off for one chair when this is a 6 piece set. I didn't just pay insurance for one chair. And the voucher nowhere near covers the cost of a chair anyway (and I had to fight tooth and nail for even that). I was promised a phone call I never got, and sat on hold and was never answered. This is absolutely terrible service. Please do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs.

If I could give a half star or zero star, I definitely would. After paying a good sum of money for protection, in less than two years, the so called leather started fading and all I get was, "We will be in touch." Finally they sent a technician even though I told them nothing was broken. He came and said the same thing and that I would be contacted. Since then, I have not heard from anyone. I sent several emails and got nothing back. Lessons learnt. Guardian Protection is fraud. That's all I can say.

My sofa had stains and also the bottom of the sofa broke. I submitted claims of stains and also broken furniture of some sort. I have been on hold for over an hour to try to get in touch with somebody. It was faster to go online and ask for an inquiry than on the phone. I know that they are short-staffed, it must be. Technician came by house and indicated that anything is fixable because I was hesitant that my sofa couldn't be fixed but he said that someone will call me in a few days to see what can be done. No one called, but instead I received an email saying that my case was closed due to it being over 30 days and not adequate for service. I will have to get another sofa which is ok, but would have loved to have received a phone call and an explanation rather than an email which I couldn't send a response to. Will purchase another couch.

I've purchased my 100% Genuine Leather furniture set from the Room Place in Lisle, IL. I loved my furniture. After a year of having the furniture set one side stopped sitting up correctly and I also accidently sprayed paint on the couch. I've contacted Guardian and placed a claim on both issues after being on hold for over an hour to speak to someone. I informed them of the issue, told them it was within 30 days. I was told to send in documentations and pictures of the furniture.
This claim has been over a month. I received an email saying they have not received the close up photos. I have submitted these photos numerous of times. I still have not received a response back, I also have been calling and I have not been able to get anyone on the phone. I sat on the phone for 2 hrs and 16 mins and finally hung up. Room place also does not help and this leads me to believe they are scamming their customers with this 3rd party company that doesn't assist their patients. I will never purchase from the room place again! Very Upset Patient!

I bought furniture - a chair. Was damaged over fourth of July weekend. Called place I bought. Found out I was outside my 1 year warranty and was told to contact Guardian and it's been a completed nightmare. I have hold times, invested well over 30 hours now. Just over 6 today. I couldn't get anyone to help so I decided I wanted a refund of the protection plan and I would be done. I was working with Chuck and Kyle who said not a problem.
I gave correct address and found out the checks were mailed to incorrect address and was told that would have to wait for stop pay etc which it's been a few days since that call. Mind you I called 10 mins after they opened and still had to wait 40 mins checking status to be sure new checks were mailed. They close here in 15 mins. Been on hold over 6.5 hours now because it's a larger sum of money cimg back to me. Seriously this is ridiculous. No clue how they have been in business this long if this is the "norm". Covid is no excuse to have someone wait this long for a question that I don't know I will even be helped today. Guessing I will have to start the process over tomorrow. INSANE! Will never do business with them again ever.

I purchased the extended warranty protection plan from Rooms To Go for a new sofa/loveseat. The plan very specifically covers “Pet biologicals”. One night at bedtime, my older dog was sleeping on the sofa and woke up and urinated on the cushions. I dabbed the wet spots with paper towels and next day took photos and submitted a claim. Guardian very quickly denied the claim on the pretense that they could not see stains in the pictures. Repeated phone calls and no change in their position. Rooms To Go would not help me either. I would hope that smart consumers will avoid doing business with either company.

We have been living in our home for 11 years now and had Guardian Protection from the beginning even during signing the home contract with our home builder. Guardian did not only install all our security system, they also installed a sound system over two floors. We purchased monitoring for security. Because of a recent incidence when the fire alarm went off we ran to the box and tried to disarm the fire alarm but we were not successful. I pressed the fire button for a good while but the monitoring team did not respond at all. Because right around Christmas the alarm started while cooking dinner in an Airfryer. That day the security monitoring team from Guardian responded. We contacted Guardian and asked what was happening. They told us that they had installed 2 smoke detectors, one on the upper floor and one on the basement and that's all at the time we moved into this brand new home.
They said they don't monitor the builders smoke detectors and they never installed a smoke detector on the first floor where the kitchen is etc. They had never informed us about that issue. We couldn't tell the smoke detectors apart and we were never told that we needed to tell Guardian that we need a smoke detector on the first floor. Can you believe this? Questions of why a security company would only install 2 smoke detectors and not even one on the main floor with the kitchen? So if you are a new homeowner make sure that you asked the company that will put in your security system if that works for all floors. In our case the system should have alarmed the monitoring team because I manually activated the alarm system.
We can have one installed for $125.00 but the issue is that we paid monthly since 11 years and were not aware that we did not have a monitoring service for a fire alarm smoke detector on the ground floor. I am still in disbelief. 11 years without protection on the first floor and Guardian still does not feel that they should have advised us at the time of installation. Good luck with Guardian, I don't trust them anymore.

I've been fighting for almost 2 months trying to get them to repair or replace my dresser that broke when my wife and I were moving it. They are refusing to honor the contract for any loophole they can attempt to conjure up. Their most recent attempt is that because I didn't report a "specific incident" on the initial call it us not eligible. I reported the date, time, and circumstances over the phone and they filed the paperwork. Seems like they intentionally left off the description so they could find a reason to not cover it. It may seem like a good deal when you buy new furniture, but I'm beginning to doubt that they actually ever stand behind their contract. Avoid at all costs. We purchased a three piece sectional couch from American Freight Furniture in Knoxville TN and decided to purchase the extended 5-year warranty because we were told how great it was. It even covers if your child spills or dog pees on the couch. Well we actually did have an incident where the dog peed but I just removed the cushion and washed it (very easy small spot). However less than two years after purchasing the couch the zipper completely split in two places on one cushion, so I submitted it for warranty (no not covered). Then 6 months later, the back frame of the couch actually comes apart poking three holes through the back fabric of the cushion (no not covered either). This is the most ridiculous warranty ever. So neither the store nor the Warranty company is willing to take any responsibility for this. Will never buy another furniture warranty or couch from either company.

Now I had the misfortune of having to use this company not just once but twice. The first time we bought the protection plan with all of our new furniture from Bob's Discount Furniture. When we actually needed to use it we filed a claim and of course got a run around. I had to drive to the store and scream my bloody head off on multiple occasions to finally be told, "OH I am sorry. there is a mistake. That's not really covered like it was explained to you and originally promised."
Now comes time number two. I try to file a claim but the store never submitted our plan in the first place, so I have to fight to have that done. When I finally file the claim I think all is good, nope. I get an email that tears from a pet is not covered as was explained would be when I bought my plan. I am ok with that because I figure they are going to fix the broken mechanical issue. I get an email stating that they don't have any techs in my area so they will have to replace it instead, ok great. NOPE, I get a follow up email stating that was wrong on their part and that isn't covered either.
When I call and request a call back I basically get told that my plan doesn't cover any of the things that happened to my furniture, how convenient...Oh but it covers spills or pet stains. Wonderful. All this company will do is take your money and rob you blind. They do absolutely nothing but give you grief and stress. Run the other way.

But, all I would get is an automated message that said due to COVID that my wait time to talk to a CSR would be extended. And after a half hour of waiting. I went online to Guardian and went online to start the process. Well because I didn't have my protection plan ID number. The system requires this to process the order.
So I had to call MEGA FURNITURE where I purchase the set from for the warranty ID number. They told me to send them my purchase order with the extended warranty on it. But, again I couldn't get a hold of anyone via phone or online. So, I had to resort to going on Guardian online live chat. Finally I was able to communicate with a CSR. This is a horrible protection plan and not worth the cost or time spent submitting a claim. I would have been better saving the money and making the repairs on my own. The warranty covers scratches. I made sure to read the warranty carefully. My claim for damages was denied because they said I moved the furniture to another location or a storage and they do not cover scratches. My claim stated that I was moving the furniture within my home. When I called and asked about the denial, they said whether it was moved inside my home or not, it would have been denied because they do not cover scratches. They should honor their warranty.
In the past four years, I only made one claim when one of the recliners would not recline. That was about 2 or 3 years ago. It's not like I'm trying to rip them off with ridiculous claims. Like I said, a total waste of money, time, and effort. I'm just happy that I purchased a good product and did not need many repairs because it does not seem like Guardian would honor them. Purchased a top of the line Serta Mattress from Wolf Furniture Store with extended warranty from Guardian Insurance. After 7 years the pillow top on the mattress started to waffle and separate from the mattress. We were relieved when we pulled our paperwork and had paid for the warranty for 10 years. This meant we were within the timeline of our warranty coverage. We contacted in November of 2021 Guardian and were emailed a claim submission number and claim form to fill out. Sent in the claim form and it was denied indicating that it hadn't reached their facility within the claims submission deadline. They indicated that we were to file again with a new claim registration number for it to be reconsidered which was done within a week of the initial denial in December of 2021.
This second claim was also denied stating that per "section 2" of the outlined warranty we paid for that the problem with our mattress was not covered. I then called the Guardian number given on the denial email and waited 21 minutes and 11 seconds for the representative to take my call. On answering my call the man pulled up our claim and said that we should have received a email denying our claim. Explaining we had and that's why we were calling. He began reading what had been said in the email. We explained we wanted more clarification as to why an obvious defect would not be covered under a warranty we paid for. He replied "because it isn't" to which our response was "So we basically paid for nothing, which makes this warranty a scam."
We then told the representative we intended to file a complaint with The US Dept of Consumer Affairs, Better Business Bureau and before I could say anything else he abruptly hung up on me. I fully intend to carry out my treat against this company who willfully and knowingly have no intention of honoring the warranties that consumers have paid for to protect their purchases only to be denied and lied to. My policy number is **. The policy is a sofa set. I filed a claim with GPP for my covered products in February 2021; after multiple calls and numerous emails, I was able to have one of Guardian’s technicians visit my house after three months. He found the covered items eligible for the claim but apparently didn’t file a complete report. The Technician in my house promised me that he would report every issue in its entirety; however, he lied to me, and after he only reported partial item damages, not everything. After months of discussion, Guardian partially approved my claim and told me they would send a check to the store from which I had purchased the items.
Guardian in over 15 emails confirmed that a check had already been sent to the furniture store, but every time I checked with the furniture store, they told me a check had not been received. After multiple attempts and dozens of emails, I was able to connect with a Supervisor at Guardian; her name was Maria, and her ID was # 204. I explained the whole story to Maria, and she sincerely apologized on behalf of Guardian and confirmed to me that the Guardian employees had lied to me and that a check had not been sent to the furniture store. She told me that she would send the within one week; she even sent me an email and in the email confirmed that a check was not sent and that she would send it. Maria promised that by October 8th, the check would be 100% sent to the furniture store.
Since talking to Maria on September 28th, until today, November 27th, I have been regularly calling the furniture store, and they tell me that they have not received a check for me from Guardian. Maria also apologized on behalf of the Technician who had not reported the whole issue and asked me to open a new claim in her conversation. I immediately opened a new claim, but since then, I have sent over ten emails and reminders to Maria and the rest of the GPP staff and claims team, but none of them responded to my queries or calls. The MANAGER gave me an example (after I asked what type of accident would warrant an approval) and she said "If I'm walking and trip over my cat and fall on the bed and it breaks, that's the type of accidental damage we cover." HOW BOGUS and made up is that! I explained to them that the wooden pieces (which is what they cover) broke which caused the entire bed to break, therefore allowing the screws to come out and they came with yet ANOTHER excuse as to why they "don't cover" stating that the pictures I provided weren't what they needed.

Went to the store and complained and they sold me a remote since she cannot use the chair without a it lifting her. This stopped my claim for a replacement remote, which I had to replace call. They told me that they cannot send someone since I bought a new one. I fought to get them to put in claim and waited 5 weeks to have someone come to the house, could not just send me a remote. This was the start of the pandemic, so I was ok since we had a working remote.
They send a technician who was a no show as scheduled and then 2 hours late second day, only to come and take pictures just as I had to do and brought the wrong remote. Had to wait another 6 weeks to get remote and they did mail that to me. One year late the third remote we have is struggling and now at 5 weeks to get a replacement and still in process. Now almost 3 years later, we turned in some claims and every one of them was denied, saying "...the stains/damages below are not coverages of your plan." We bought a couch and like fools we paid the $100 for the warranty for it through Guardian. We needed to use the warranty and it look 2-3 months to even get it accepted. It took an additional 1.5 months for them to fully accept and give us replacement options. Multiple times they told us they were going to cover the cost in full to get a brand new replacement for us. When it came down to it they gave us less than half of what the couch costs to buy. They are not budging on the offer. I am tired of dealing with them so we accepted it so we can try and move on. They told us we could either get a check sent to us or they could credit our account with the furniture retailer.
We decided to get a check sent to us so we could make a new purchase and avoid paying the shipping costs because that’s the furniture company policy which we verified with them. No Guardian is going back once again on their word and is saying they will not send a check to us and they will credit our furniture account. So at this point we’re stuck with 40% value in credit of what we paid for and we must pay $500-$600 in shipping to get a new couch. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They never answer their phones to leave you on hold for hours at a time, when they do answer they just tell things you want to hear just to go back on their word at a later time. Sitting down on the chair and it collapsing is NOT an accident, and therefore not covered.
This company has 566 complaints in the last 3 years. I read numerous complaints where the claim resulted from an accident, and in these instances Guardian Protection Products denies coverage because it's an accident and not normal wear and tear. In other words any time someone submits a claim they conveniently create their own version of events to decline coverage. If damage happens by accident, it's denied because it should have happened during normal usage. Guardian Protection Products is a waste of money. They refuse to cover furniture claims that are clearly defined in their own documentation as items that will be covered, even with pictures. We purchased a brand new sectional from Bob's Discount Furniture on 10/21/18. We were told the couch we purchased (LUXE) was the 2nd most popular sectional. In addition to the purchase of the couch, we also purchased the Goof Proof Warranty from Guardian Protection Products the salesman recommended for 150.00. From the time of purchase to now (9/27/20) we have had 3 technicians at the house for various problems with the couch. Both the left and right arms of the chaises have divots, the cushion casings have torn, and the left-facing chaise now has multiple sharp protrusions in the back, which presents a safety issue.
The divot fix only lasted a few months, and the technician who came to the house to replace the cushion casings, put them on in such a way that the casing seams don't line up with the ends of the cushions. For the protrusions, I filed a claim with Guardian. The first Guardian rep said the claim would not be covered because it had occurred when I pulled the couch out to clean, which was not true and a statement I did not make. I told him I noticed the protrusion when I pulled the couch out to clean the wall.
After calling to speak with another Guardian rep. regarding the incident, she apologized for the first rep's explanation, and said the claim's denial is actually due to us not being aware of the exact cause of the protrusion. I then filed a complaint with Bob's Customer Care; they refused to offer a replacement to the chaise or send a technician to examine the damage free of charge because the one year manufacturing warranty expired and recommended I file a complaint with Guardian.
After filing an additional claim with Guardian due to the protrusions getting worse and increasing in number after sitting back on the chaise, the following is what I received via email, denying the claim "You reported that the damage to your furniture occurred while leaning back. While we understand the furniture was not intentionally damaged, leaning back is the intended use of the furniture. The plan you purchased protects your furniture from accidents you cause to the furniture and excludes damage that occurs from normal use." We now have a couch, less than two years old, that is dangerous and neither Bob's Discount Furniture or Guardian Protection Plans will take any action to resolve the issue.

I purchased a 5 year Guardian Product Protection plan through Bob's Furniture (The Goof Proof Plan) on my children's bunk beds. I was completely misled by the salesperson that ANY damage to the bed would be covered, including if my child jumped up and down on the bed and it broke. The coverage by Guardian is absolutely ridiculous and not worth the money spent. I would NOT RECOMMEND purchasing their plan due to the narrow type of damage/accidents that are actually covered.
1) My son jumped into the bed to go to bed, not meaning to damage it and not misusing it, but one of the wooden support slats completely broke under the mattress.
2) My other son ran up the stairs to get to the top bunk and the wood on the front stair broke off - about a 1 inch piece the length of the entire step.
Apparently, NEITHER of these items are covered. The contract states these are covered:
1) PRODUCT SPECIFIC COVERAGE: #2. WOOD AND HARD SURFACE FURNITURE: Section b. Accidental breakage of wood frame or structure or other hard surface from specific incident.
2) COVERAGE: • The Plan covers materials and labor costs to service your furniture item(s) in the event a furniture item becomes accidentally damaged during normal residential use...
3) NOTE: ...This Plan covers defects in workmanship and/or material of your covered furniture item(s) and, if applicable, accidental damage from normal household use, as described herein.
HOWEVER, UNDER 'EXCLUSIONS TO COVERAGE, THIS MAKES ALL THAT NULL AND VOID: Unknown stains; color loss, fading, and discoloration; all normal wear and tear, including damage that cannot be attributed to a single relatable incident. THAT is the line that supposedly means 'normal usage' and why damage under normal usage is not covered. Makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. AND if my son 'accidentally fell' onto the stairs and they broke, that would be covered. Running up the stairs is NOT, for some insane reason. But, that was only for the STAIRS. Apparently the slats are NOT covered due to them not being a painted part of the bed. Was NEVER told that anything underneath was and unpainted was not covered under the plan when being walked through coverage by the Bob's Furniture salesperson. I was misled by Bob's Furniture sales and am completely unhappy with this entire situation.

Bought a table at Ashley Furniture, along with this protection plan. They talked it up like it was awesome, and they would cover everything unless it’s a burn, or nail polish. I just put in a claim for the seat cushions to be cleaned (stains from kids sitting on them with wet bathing suits on) and they wouldn’t cover it, because it wasn’t a SPECIFIC incident. We’ve bought this same protection plan a couple times, and this was the first time we’ve tried to use it. Needless to say, I won’t be buying it ever again.

I purposely told the salesman at Bob's furniture in New Bedford that a child would be sleeping on the pullout. He promised that EVERYTHING WAS COVERED UNDER THE PROTECTION PLAN. Today I was denied because it wasn't a specific incident that they don't make clear on what is specific. I feel cheated beyond belief and I wish I never fell for their lies. All said and done, this review is all the justice I get. The protection plan is 100% a rip off.

They are a total scam and rip off. Bought warranty 2x with them at time of purchase a small pamphlet is given and sales representatives tell u it covers food stain, marker, tear etc but everytime i file a calim they always deny the claims saying there are small fine lines to exclude what they cover such as a few stain in one spot, gum. When I call to dispute, they lie that they sent out an email of the fine lines to me when i never received it. They will do everything in their power not to process a claim. Never buying a warranty with them again!

We filed a claim for accidental damage with Guardian as we had children accidentally damage the couch while playing and Guardian denied the claim saying it was not accidental damage. We paid for this insurance protection policy exactly for these type of accidental incidents and now we're being called liars because Guardian does not want to honor their agreement. We provided many photos, description and all the information they required only for them to call us liars at the end. Very bad and unprofessional business practice. We want our money back for the couches, or have them fixed. This is exactly why you get accidental damage insurance!

My fiance and I bought a sectional in September of 2018 at Jerome's and also purchased the warranty on it. When we bought the warranty we were told that it will cover anything that happens to the couch. We submitted a claim because the material on the couch is coming undone EVERYWHERE, they denied our claim because they said that the warranty covers rips and tears but NOT "fraying". I find this super ridiculous because that is not what we were told when we purchased the warranty and I believe that they should accommodate us because they sold us a poor quality and defective couch. Keep in mind, the sectional is only a year and a half old! I have never experienced anything like this before.

Had discoloration on leather recliner. We were told since we were 4 days past the time frame of reporting, nothing would be done. We were told we could file a request for prorated refund. However, they could not send the form. Informed we could go in line and get the form. I cannot locate the firm. It seems to me, being only four days past the 30 period some sort of help should have been offered. This is a BIG RIP off. I will never deal with Guardian Protection Plan.

Well I tried to make a claim for a rip in my leather furniture and was denied because I didn’t how it happened until after I made the claim but once I found out I explained it a was still denied. I was told I should have said it was an accident “who rips their furniture on purpose”. Do NOT I REPEAT DO NOT SPEND 200.00 on this CRAP!

I purchased a full-size Copenhagen Queen Onyx Upholstered Bed on 3/4/18 from Bob's Discount Furniture with a one (1) year warranty that ended 3/4/19. I also purchased an additional 5-Year P1PB-4015407 Guardian Residential Furniture Plan warranty for $39.99. The warranty was activated on 3/4/18, will expire on 3/4/23, and the information states that the warranty will provide up to $299.00 in coverage for new furniture.
11/21-22/19, I made several calls to Bob's Customer Service and Guardian Protection Products, Inc. for assistance and was not able to find a resolution. The Customer Service Rep from Guardian Protection Products, Inc. informed me that since the bed broke and it was not accidental, they would not grant the repair claim. The support legs on the bed have broken three times.
I called Bobs Customer Care and they told me to call Guardian Protection Products - I was informed that internal documents, service repair reports are not provided to customers; it is only for the company records. I asked for copies of the reports complete by the repair technicians and was informed the following: 8/9/18 - Guardian Protection Products Technician notes: repaired/tightened loose slat support leg; the cracked leg, and it was determined not to be a manufacturing defect.
9/16/19 - Guardian Protection Products Cursory technician notes: repaired/tighten loose slat support leg; the leg was cracked, not a manufacturing issue. 11/8/19 - I called Guardian Protection Products to file another claim because two legs had broke again on the bed; (left front) and middle loose slat support leg. Claim denied for repairs.
I have requested credit from Bob's Discount Furniture to select another bed. Bob's Furniture denied my request and stated that I would have to pay for repairs. Guardian Protection Products refuse to issue me a refund or repair the furniture. I have requested a copy of both service reports - informed that internal documents, service repair reports are not given to customers. The continued breakage of the product could fall under two defects: manufacturing defect or design defect. In the law of products liability, a manufacturing defect is a defect in a product that was not intended. This kind of defect occurs when a product departs from its intended design and is more dangerous than consumers expect the product to be. The leg breaking was no intended; it just happened.
In the law of products liability, a design defect exists when a defect is inherent in the design of the product itself. In a products liability case, a plaintiff can only establish a design defect exists when he proves there is hypothetical alternative design that would be safer that the original design, as economically feasible as the original design, and as practical as the original design, retaining the primary purpose behind the original design despite the changes made.
Per the notes of the service repair technician on 9/16/19 - Cursory technician notes: repaired/tightened loose slat support leg; leg is cracked, and this is not a manufacturing issue. There was a present issue, a cracked leg, and the repair technician neglected to repair it. Neglecting to repair the leg upon inspection later resulted in the breakage of the leg again, along with the middle support slacks.

I wish I could give them no stars. I was told during the purchase that this was a replacement plan as long as what happens is an accident. I reached out to them the date of the accident with photos. My claim is approved and I am told that I need to wait for stores to open. Today my claim changed to pending and I am told that a cover will be sent to cover up the burn. This is unacceptable. I refuse to put a cover over a $1200 sectional. I will not send my clients here and I will never purchase from here again. This needs to be handled.

I purchased my bedroom furniture from Bob's and also purchased the extended warranty. I submitted a claim in 2019 because my daughter put a cup of water on her dresser and it buckled. They then denied my claim and said it wasn't part of the warranty although it does say water damage is covered in the warranty. In May of 2020 I then submitted another claim because my daughter spilled nail polish on her dresser and it caused a stain and my dresser had a water mark from a cup of tea. They sent me an email stating I needed to send pictures and state how it happened. I did this and that same day they denied the claim stating that because I had multiple deformities (which I wasn't claiming) it shows it did not happened in one single incident.
Who are they to tell me that my steam mark and nail polish stain did not happen in one incident. This is ridiculous! That means I would have to spill nail polish in the same spot multiple times or put hot tea down in the same spot multiple times. In addition, I specifically stated that these incidents occured once when I sent the pictures. This company is a rip off and I'm going to contact my attorney because I'm sure no matter what claim I submit, they will find a reason to deny it.

Anyone I've spoken with show no interest in coming to a solution, instead they guide the conversation to get you to disqualify yourself from eligibility. I made a claim with someone that barely asked about the situation and the stains on my couch, and simply asked me how and where. Less than 20 min later I got a response that I wasn’t eligible and that it was my final (and first) attempt to file a claim. They word it confusing on purpose, they never have to come through on a claim.. the response says I must have a licensed cleaning agent attempt to clean my couch (on my dime) and produce a receipt in order to be eligible. I have that, I mentioned that, and she refused to acknowledge that. Now anytime I call I get the run around. This service is a joke!
“Please understand that this is a final determination and your claim cannot be changed or altered to change its eligibility.” “The plan you purchased from Daniel's Home Center does cover your furniture for a variety of accidental stains from a single incident. You reported multiple stains throughout both pieces of your sectional; therefore a general cleaning would be required to resolve this claim. Your plan does not offer a general cleaning and specifically excludes stains that cannot be attributed to a single incident.“ Impossible to get a general cleaning or any kind of claim on my “protected products”. Notice how they only respond to 5 star reviews. Not professional, NOT looking forward to providing excellent service like they say so in their introductory email.

I purchased a beautiful 2 piece furniture set from Harlem Furniture which unfortunately has turned out to be a horrendous experience. The bed had a piece of the inner wood lining of the bed. Railing break off after about 2 yrs of use. I wouldn't rate any stars for this company if it was possible. I submitted a claim and was told the breakage in wood was not subject to warranty. We have to hold the bed up with boxes and some tape to continue to use it and it is completely useless to all intents and purposes as there is no repair plan or replacement for damaged parts.
I quote the response verbatim: "The plan you purchased does cover your furniture for accidental breakage of the frames however any damage caused by an unauthorized cleaning or repair attempt is not a coverage of your plan. The photos indicate that you used tape to tape the rails. Putting tape on the bed rail is an unauthorized cleaning or repair attempt and excluded from the coverage of this plan". This company is a scam and should be shut down from operations. Buyers beware!

We purchased $2,000.00 worth of living room furniture from Bob’s Furniture in November, 2018. We added the Guardian Protection Plan because we were told it “literally covers everything” and were also told it lasted as long as we had the furniture (but that’s another issue and I’ll take it up with Bob’s). Recently a bar in the footrest of my oversized recliner completely snapped, rendering it practically useless. I contacted Guardian to file a claim but due to a miscommunication with my spouse, and the fact that I was dealing with work at the time, I unfortunately failed to list what they would deem a valid reason as to how this happened (we’ve all hurriedly completed things when we have a million other things going on, right?).
The claim comes back almost immediately denied because I said I was unaware of how it became broken, I later discovered from my wife it was due to our 85lb dog jumping on it (again, another issue) and so I contacted customer service to see about amending the claim. The agent was rude, of course, and gave me the email to a different department who has now also come back with a denial. So all because I selected the wrong option (aka anything other than a specific “accident” because that is literally the ONLY thing these plans cover) I now have a $600 recliner that does not recline! Let me make this abundantly clear, this company takes your money and has no intention of ever hearing from you again.
If you happen to file a claim, they make you go through a ridiculous amount of red tape with questions that are set up to confuse you, just so they can come back and deny your claim for not answering the questions correctly. They will then refuse to change or review anything because you agreed to that ridiculous arrangement when you filed the claim in the first place! This company is a scam. DO NOT BUY THEIR PLANS, THEY WON’T FIX YOUR STUFF ANYWAY!!!

The protection plan is worthless. Takes 2 months to get a rude person to come out and clean the stained furniture, and they don't even have the correct equipment to do it. The guy had to use our mop bucket to clean his hose. The couch now smells even worse than it did to begin with, we call to see if anything can be done, turns out the plan ONLY PROTECTS THE FABRIC and NOT the cushion itself. We were also told that the cleaning solution they use sometimes leaves a bad smell and there's nothing they can do about it. Absolutely horrible company and definitely not worth the money because you'll still have to buy a replacement.

Do not purchase the Guardian plan. They did not honor my policy coverage. I purchased a 5 year Premium Leather Protection Plan from Guardian on the purchase of three La-Z-Boy items. Our dog jumped on the couch causing the leather arm rest to rip loose from the couch. Our policy (section 2a) covered "Rips, cuts, punctures or burns from a single relatable occurrence." This clearly covers my situation. Guardian responded to or claim #** and denied it stating "your plan covers accidental rips but not seam separations." This is clearly and accidental rip situation. Also, I can't find anywhere in the policy where "seam separations" are not covered.
