I was sent the wrong part not the part I ordered. I contacted them and I was told that I had to pay to send it back. They send the wrong part and they tell me it’s my fault because I didn’t call them to verify that it is the right part, are you kidding me. I will never buy anything related to this company. You order parts and it is the customer's fault that they sent the wrong one. I will notify them and Better Business Bureau in reference to this matter. Bad business dealings.

I would never buy or recommend a Cub Cadet lawn tractor. After less than one year the battery went bad. The cub cadet dealer told me the battery was only guaranteed for 90 days and if I want to replacement, it was prorated and I would receive a credit of five dollars for my battery. A terrible business practice. Of course the dealer's hands are tied. The replacement battery would be a completely different kind of battery because they have nothing but trouble with this original battery. So buy a John Deere and you’ll be better off.

Bought a Cub Cadet LT50 on 8/18/25. Checked oil and servicing done by Stines (the store it was purchased from) and unloaded the mower at my home. On 8/1925, the next day, and the engine won't start. Called customer service and was told to take it to the nearest service center 40 miles away. I'm 70 years old and disabled. Loading it to be taken to the service center without any power is impossible for me. For a wrecker service to take it is $200. Cub Cadet says it's not their problem. The mower is 1 day old!! Pathetic quality and customer service!! See picture below. Obviously this is "normal" for this product and unscrupulous company!

Have a zt1 50inch bought in June 14th, 2023. I had a back fusion 2 weeks later so I was told able to use it till late 2024. Have oil changed, mowed my backyard, was about to mow front and locked up. The pil pump went out of it and all the authorized dealers around me say it's our fault. Call Cub Cadet, they give you the run around and tell you to call Kawasaki due to it's the motor. So with a year of warranty left, guess I now got a yard ornament. This is how the authorized dealers treat you as well. And how you get your equipment back, meanwhile, Cub Cadet tells you to take it to another authorized dealer.

After being advised on the phone by a Cub Cadet representative, I purchased a hydrostatic transmission belt from the Cub Cadet website online for my Cub Cadet XT1 LT50 riding mower on June 17, 2025. When it arrived, it was the wrong size belt and was never used, and I was given a return authorization by a Cub Cadet representative who sent me an email on July 2, 2025. The belt was shipped back to Cub Cadet on July 3, 2025 by USPS Ground Advantage. One month later, I still have never received a refund for my purchase. After speaking with (3) Cub Cadet representatives on the phone regarding this issue, I was told by the third representative that it will take two business cycles to receive my refund but the representative was unable to tell me how long a business cycle was.

I sent a letter to the Cub Cadet corporate office on July 28, 2025 including all documentation (case number, PO number, part number, pick control number, a copy of Cub Cadet return authorization email) in hopes of receiving my refund but as of this writing, August 6, 2025, no response. Cub Cadet owes me a refund of $55.99 plus $13.20 return shipping charges, which they insisted I pay for in order to return the transmission belt, even though the purchasing error occurred from the Cub Cadet representative's recommendation.

Do not buy this lawnmower, unless you want repair bills. The first 6 months were fine and I loved it. It is two years old now and I can't use it without something breaking, usually a belt. That's when you get lucky, because I just had to have the transmission replaced already. It was under warranty, but it took 6 weeks to get the part. To anyone saying that isn't too bad, try pushing your spare mower around an acre twice a week in the scorching Alabama summer, with medical issues. I am so disappointed in this product, and in myself for not digging into the reviews far enough to know the story. It took a lot for me to be able to get this mower and unfortunately can't just throw it in the garbage, because that's where it belongs. Mine is an XLT Enduro Series 46" deck. I don't know if all the models are this bad, but now I am stuck. I can't afford to buy something else and I can't afford to keep fixing it.

I purchased a Cub Cadet zero-turn mower expecting reliable performance and solid customer service. Instead, I’ve had nothing but issues. The build quality is extremely poor—components fail far sooner than they should on a mower in this price range. Worse than the mower issues is the customer support. The warranty seems meaningless, as the company doesn’t stand behind their equipment. I was met with endless delays and finger-pointing. The call center is clearly outsourced and offers no real help or accountability. If you’re considering Cub Cadet, I strongly suggest looking at other brands that actually support their customers. I’ll never buy from them again.

However 41 hours later the transmission blew leaving my me calling constantly to get in touch with corporate but customer service would not get me in contact with them. I continued to escalate this and finally got someone in Tech. only to be told "We don't have this problem" although there are so many complaints about this exact issue. He wanted me to load this thing up, drive it to a recommended dealer.

I called the dealer and he really didn't want anything to do with it. He knew they have been having issues with it and even told me "good luck because it's hard to prove that it wasn't you who broke it and you can drop it off and I'm not sure when we will get to it" $2600 down the drain and a new transmission is upwards of $1000 +install would bring you over the cost of the machine. This thing is total junk and the company knows it and has all their minions over seas answer the phone that shield the company and the company who owns them which is Stanly Black and Decker. Horrible customer service. Nobody knows what they are doing, they lose your order, send incorrect parts, then it took 5 calls and emails to find out a simple address to return my part and get the right one-yet they tell me I don’t have an order but they confirmed to me all my personal information, last four of phone number, zip, etc. then talk over me arguing that I have no order though I gave them the order number, then they wanted order confirmation number. What is wrong with these people?? Called and got someone else, who immediately sent an email with my order information and instructions how to return-yet left out the address of where I’m sending it! It’s like if the packing slip wasn’t in the package these people cannot function without it even though I gave a receipt in my email-which also has Jo return address.

Do yourself a favor. Avoid hassles. Rep starts arguing with me when she asks what part is, I give her part number first then start to say the part name-she interrupts after I finish the part number while I am speaking it and rudely says, “I just need the name of the part. You’re telling me the part number. I don’t need that just…” while I’m speaking. Oh, my God. Who doesn’t need the name of the part AND the part number? It’s a mower blade and there’s literally 100 different ones. Avoid!

This was to be my third season with a new Cub Cadet zt1. Let me start by telling you why I did not bother with the three-year warranty. I called the company and talked at length with a very nice lady. We spent a good deal of time verifying the model and serial numbers and after several intermissions she told me what to do, or at least what I would have to do.

    1. Locate a trailer and means of taking the mower to a local shop some 20 miles away.
    2. The shop would then locate the problem and then I would pay for the repairs.

    3. I would then explain the repair to cub cadet and they would decide whether to reimburse me or not. I bet not. The suggested chop had bad reviews and I did not have a trailer.

In may for the first mow, it got to vibrating and I found a bad spindle bearing. I ordered four timken bearings and installed them. It was fine. In june it started vibrating again and I replaced the drive and deck belts and that did a nice job with the vibrations. In july the throttle cable stopped working. I had a look at the extremely poor built quality of the mechanism and replaced it (the cable feeds through a hole in the plastic and hey guess what? the hole got bigger and bigger and...) it was about this time that I started to realize that all the crap parts available online were essentially the same crap parts that made up my zt1,

This morning with a beautiful sun shining I started to me and it took me a minute to recognize that it was misfiring or one of the two cylinders was cutting out. I replaced the spark plugs with the old ones from last years maintenance. nope, nada, no sir. Now I am angrily drinking a beer before I delve even deeper into this terrible build from a terrible company. PS - I paid $3800 at tsc and the next spring it was selling for $3200. PSPS - I REALLY hate it when you have to give AT LEAST one star when I would choose to give none...

I own the Cub Cadet RZT SX50 zero turn with steering wheel. I bought in 2020 and have put 84 hours on this machine. You might ask why so few hours going into my 5th year of owning this machine? Because the mower has been in the shop more than it has been in my yard. Solid 3 years of warranty work; which of course all during mowing season. Every year this lawnmower has gone into the shop for starting issues. Gas tank replaced twice, PBS Module replaced, governor assembly replaced 3 times, and wire harness replaced. Just got mower back after wire harness replaced, got just one mow.

Called Cub Cadet who know me pretty well with 3 case numbers and they just told me that there is nothing they can do for me because it is out of warranty. $2,420 cost for out of warranty starting issues. This cost does not include the lawn service that I have had to pay for while mower not working. The amount time of trailering mower, driving to shop that I bought it from, and picking it back up after repair is insane. I called my lawn service company to put me on the rotation. Going to bring this lawnmower in to get fixed...my guess is that it will be the governor assembly again and I am going to sell it to some poor unsuspecting soul. If you are in the market for one of these mowers and see one used for sale...ask the seller if they wrote a bad review on the mower. Obviously very disappointed with this mower and Cub Cadet. I wish there was a lemon law with mowers.

Despite the servicer stating the bolts were over torqued and there was oil in the crankcase, the manufacturer looked at some pictures and said lack of lubrication (which the servicer disagreed with). I have texts going back to May 2024 showing that we had oil in the mower, but the warranty claim was denied stating we did not provide proper maintenance. So by the time I would've pd to send it back then they take their 25% fee, it's what I paid for the bagger!!! DO NOT BUY FROM CUB CADET ONLINE!! I'm now selling it myself to recoup some of the money I paid for it to get him the right one!! WHAT A JOKE!!!

Original Review: I purchased a bagger for my dad for Christmas off the Cub Cadet website. We live in the north so he didn't have a need for it until April and when he went to attach it, it was the wrong one. When I contacted Cub Cadet to find out how to return it, I was told that because it was past 90 days, I would have to pay a 25% fee. When I explained it was purchased as a Christmas gift and we live in the north so of course it was past 90 days before it was tried - they didn't care - that's the policy! Strike #1. Then when I said ok so what do I do to return this? The lady told me to follow the instructions on my packing slip and put my claim # on line 5. There are no instructions on my packing slip nor is there a line 5! Strike #2!

When I called and told them this, they said they would email me the instructions. Great! When I received the email, it said, TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON MY PACKING SLIP!!! Strike #3! I called them back and explain the whole situation again and asked for a supervisor. I'm told a supervisor will call me back in 24 to 48 hrs. I waited 4 Days!! Then I called them back AGAIN! I explained EVERYTHING AGAIN and asked for a supervisor. This man was nice and attempted several times to get a supervisor on the line, only to be told each time that one would call me back! He said he was going to have someone find the instructions and email them to me in the meantime. I never received an email BUT a supervisor did call me.

I ONCE AGAIN explained EVERYTHING to this man! He tried to tell me I couldn't return the bagger!! When I questioned why not when it hadn't been used or anything and the others told me I just had to pay the 25% fee he then said oh yeah that's right!! Then I said I just need the instructions to return it please. He said I'm emailing you everything about returns including the instructions right now. I told him to let me check and make sure I had them and when I looked - They were the exact same instructions I received before about the packing slip!!!

I informed him ONCE AGAIN that there were no instructions on my packing slip!! With an irritated tone he asked what do you need from me?? I had to tell me an address to send this back!!! What else do I need to return this?? He put me on hold with a huff and came back a few minutes later with an address!! Do not buy anything from their website unless you are 1000% sure it's the right thing!!! Their customer service is a joke!! and their 90 day policy for certain items at certain times of the year needs changed!

I found the qualities of product to be very acceptable but as far as our customer service, it is terrible waiting on the phone for a half an hour to have them open a case on UPS because of their product not delivered. After I show proof of product not being delivered, they want more information making it nearly impossible to get a part that I paid for and didn’t receive. I mean come on seriously. You’re gonna do commerce over the internet and have deliveries then sometimes deliveries will get messed up. That’s not a big deal. Making it seem like a proctology visit to receive a product that you’ve already paid for and not received is unacceptable. Get it together. You can clearly see that neither one of those packages are for a weedeater gas tank.

And unless you are fluent in foreign languages, there's no need to call either. I also tried Messenger on FB and never got a response. I purchased the Cub Cadet ZT1 Ultima 50" mower with high hopes, but after using it for a second season, I’m beyond disappointed. Parts continue to break off the deck every time I mow, and now the spindles are breaking off, making it impossible to even use the mower. What’s even more frustrating is the complete lack of support from Cub Cadet. When I reached out for help, they offered no real solutions and instead suggested I purchase an entirely new deck for over $1,000 and that’s just the deck, with none of the components included. For the price, I expected far better quality and customer service.

I understand wear and tear can happen, but this level of failure after just two seasons is unacceptable. This mower is now completely unusable, and the lack of support from the company is incredibly frustrating. I would not recommend the ZT1 Ultima to anyone looking for a reliable mower. The poor build quality and non-existent customer service make this purchase a major disappointment. Buyer beware.

The repair person told me I am not the only person this has happened to. I tried for 45 minutes and multiple calls to try and talk to a corporate representative higher than customer service and every number I was given by the customer service representative was wrong. There are no email options. I could write to them but my guess is that it would go in file 13. In the meantime, I had to pay a company to mow for the 4 months.

They did not have the 1x snow blower that I wanted and they transferred one from another location from Sellersburg Indiana. It took a while for them to locate one as I had to follow up with them several times to get a status update. I stopped in another day to check status and was told the snow blower was in. Took it home and it did not snow enough that winter to use it.

The following season I used it and the first time the auger quit turning. After trying to find the problem I discovered that the bolt that holds the bracket and cable to the body was stripped and had fell out. I believe they sold me a refurbished machine that had been previously worked on. Why would a new machine be stripped brand new. The warranty is over and I am kicking myself for trying to give business to a locally owned business. I am now looking for a repair shop to fix and don't even want to do business with this store because I do not trust them.

I will even mention at the same time I was looking for a Cub Cadet lawn tractor and they didn't have the one I wanted, and they were searching for that too. I finally told them to forget it and called Cub cadet directly and they shipped me one out the next day. Purchase gx54 d garden tractor with Kohler engine in 2023. I have over 130 hrs on it so far. The issues I have had: 1. The front brush guard has plastic covers in the receiver and they melted along with the nylon nuts due to the amount of heat coming from the exhaust. The heat coming back will make your shoes warm! I found a fix for this by flipping receiver upside down and reinstalling the brush guard. Still melted but not as bad as first time. 2. Good luck starting Kohler under 40 degrees and getting mower to engage. 10 minute warmup necessary. 3. Bagger is the biggest waste of money. It's flimsy, parts have broken on it and it leaks debris bad. We riveted weatherstripping to the inside to stop leaks. I'm not talking about a tiny dust I'm talking like leaving trail of grass or leaves bad. The hook latch we put a cotter pin in to keep it from popping open.

    4. Quick attached blades is the dumbest idea. Once they get dirty good luck getting them off. 5. Front tires lose air from the heat coming off exhaust which ports right onto them. 6. Cruise control is useless. 7. Reverse is slowww. 7. 300 hour oil change.... Lucky if this thing lasts 300 hrs. Although being Kohler and heavy duty drive axle this will be the only thing that lasts. 8. Mower deck plastic chute guard broke at the springs.

I have called Cub Cadet twice and complained. Today I found out that Cub Cadet does not warranty the engine, that you have to go back to the engine manufacturer company to get a replacement. In this case it is Briggs & Stratton. This is what the service center had already told me. The service center is a certified repair shop for Cub Cadet but not for Briggs & Stratton. There lies the problem. The service center has had a hard time getting the engine from Briggs & Stratton because they are not a dealer for Briggs & Stratton.

I talked to Cub Cadet about the fact that I bought a Cub Cadet with a warranty and thought that they would stand behind their product. This is not the case because they don't supply the engine, so you have to go back to the supplier of the engine. I am out $2500.00 for this mower. I bought it from a company that I thought would stand behind their product, but this is not the case. I will never buy another Cub Cadet product or anything with a Briggs & Stratton engine on it.

We have had the spindles break, deck crack, and have sunk more money into it than our vehicles and we have owned it for 2 years. Warranty claims is was due to "impact" which we have nothing to hit in our yard... Then they blamed it on sandy soil... That the sand causes it to shake which causes the spindles to wear out the holes and it gets loose... We bought the "heavy" duty blades and we bought the machine in sand country. They also put the blades on backwards once. Customer service will take HOURS to reach and then they'll tell you that they will call you back, they won't. STAY AWAY. I purchased my Cub Cadet ZT 154 in June 2023. In July of 2024, I was mowing my lawn of 30+ years, that is to say no rocks, no stumps, just Bermuda Grass. I heard a thud and a 4.5” pulley flew out from the top of the deck. The deck belt began jerking violently. I shut off the mower and pulled the deck. I took it to the dealer for a warranty evaluation as the center spindle had been jerked partially off the deck, cracking two of the bolt holes. Cub Cadet denied the warranty stating there had to be an impact. There was not. The dealer agreed there was zero evidence of any impact. No damage or chips to any blade.

So I ask the dealer to order me a new fabricated 54” deck, part number 603P05579A-0637 (black). Cub Cadet's part system stated the part was unavailable. The only ones I found online were being sold by third parties for hundreds more than Cub’s list price and with exorbitant shipping fees. My belief, Cub refused the warranty with an invalid excuse because they don’t have the part. They demonstrated their idea of customer service and customer loyalty. The mower is One Year old and the deck comes with a “limited lifetime warranty.” I guess the limitation is based on whether Cub can actually support their product. They will not get any repeat business from me. I DO NOT recommend their line of Zero Turn mowers.

Discovered that the right side bracket for the brake lost the pin. Temporary engaged the switch to move it out of the yard and now the right hand transmission won’t engage. I moved the level to disengage/engage the transmission (as this is not my first ZT mower), but still doesn’t move. Waiting to have it pick up for service.

I bought this to replace my still working Husqvarna. Had to go back to it to finish the lawn. I did a lot of research before I bought this Cub Cadet. It got good reviews but now I regret purchasing it. Besides the failure, I’m disappointed in the power. Exactly same motor as my Husqvarna but less speed & power than it (and I’m not a big fan on Husqvarna). I’d return if I could and buy a residential one…

Purchased a ZTS2-60 zero turn mower last spring. About 4 weeks after purchase, the ignition module went bad and needed to be replaced. After that replacement, the mower worked pretty well throughout the summer...at least no further complaints. Then this spring, the mower would sporadically have issues turning over. We found that spraying gumout in the carburetor would get it to start again..at least for a little while. Then two of the aluminum blade spindles cracked. Replaced those with upgraded versions.

Two weeks later the third spindle cracked. I ordered 4 more so that I would have a complete backup set. Not long after that, we discovered the real reason why we could not start the mower consistently, the throttle cable popped out of the hole in the plastic throttle shifter. Tried to reassemble, putting it back in the hole but it popped out again after 1 more use. Replaced the entire throttle shift and cable.

A few weeks after that the drive belt jumped off the tension gear...you know where it has the guide that is supposed to prevent it from coming off. Got that back together and a few uses later we were back to difficulty starting. Checked the cable, the tension of the cable, the filter...tried the gumout again...no luck. Replaced the plugs which were not in too bad shape but it seemed to do the trick for another couple of uses. I can get it to start now...but it takes a lot of cranking...meanwhile the drive belt popped off again. If this were an automobile, it would be a lemon and I would be seeking redress. By the way, tried Cub Cadet customer service...but as noted in many reviews here...I don't have the time to wait on the phone for them to pick up the call...and the one time they did...they were of very little help.

CUB CADET ELECTRIC RIDING MOWER BUYERS BEWARE. On 4/22/22 I bought a Cub Cadet CC30E Lithium-Ion powered riding mower from Home Depot FOR $3000. On 4/8 of this year (6 weeks ago) it failed to operate. The battery showed full, and it was. But the mower wouldn’t budge. It is still well within the 3-year warranty window, so I called my local Home Depot. I found out they do not warranty or fix the mowers. I needed to contact Cub Cadet directly. Which I did.

Cub Cadet referred me to a local shop that sells and performs warranty on Cub Cadets. That shop picked it up the next day (4/9). The repair facility is doing its best to get me back up and running. Unfortunately there is a problem getting parts from Cub Cadet. The shop has pinned my problem down to a faulty ECM. That’s the good news. But the part probably won’t get here from the Cub Cadet factory until late June. In the interim I have to pay for weekly lawn service since I no longer have a lawn mower. My recommendation is “stick with gas mowers”, or at least stay away from Cub Cadet electric mowers. I’ve made six (6) calls to Cub Cadet customer service. You know where I am on the parts problem? Nowhere. As the saying goes...it was great while it lasted.

Three different attempts to ship all the missing parts, and missing pieces still. Cadet says they cannot expedite shipping. The company and customer support have been drinking too much Kool-aid. I don't know any other way to put this other than to say a bunch of chuckleheads that think they are too big to fail. Buyer Beware!

ZT1 42E Mower: This purchase is comparable to a donkey rodeo. The dealer was awful!!! I bought it with the bagger. The bagger was not in stock so they had to order. Weeks later it came in and I took the mower to them because the salesperson Mitch said they would install it. They didn't. Got it home and realized it was the wrong one. They had to order the right one. This was after they questioned me as if I didn't know what I was talking about. Weeks later the right bagger came in. It was too late in the season to use it. I have .6 acres of grass to mow. A full charge will not mow it. It takes 140% charge to cut my yard. That means I can't mow it at one time. Runs only about 50 minutes. I found out thru reviews that the mowing time can be impacted because of the weight the bagger adds and weight of the grass as it get full. The dealer should have told me this and I would not have bought it.

I called Cub Cadet and they confirmed this, it was documented and the dealer should have told me. The steering is jerky even at the slower speed. This is after the calibration. The dealer didn't tell me about this calibration process. I Googled and found it. They told me that when I purchased it that the steering would improve as the mower got use to my operation of this mower. That is not true. You absolutely cannot operate this mower at the faster speed because it will be all over the place. I have talked to Cub Cadet 3 times. They told me they would get the contact info for a local marketing rep. Never received the info and when I followed up I was told they didn't know why I was told that. On another call I was told to operate the mower at the slower speed and it would help with the steering and performance of the mower with the bagger. I was already running at turtle speed.

Each time I called(3) I had to wait 45+ minutes to speak with someone. The dealer doesn't have this mower available or blades for it. This is the 4th Cub Cadet product I have purchased and the 2nd ZTR mower. There are 4 Cub Cadet ZTR mowers in my family not including this disappointing purchase. We have been very satisfied with their products until now.

They said the part is back-ordered through their authorized supplier for warranty repair, but we can go ahead and buy the part off Amazon if we wanted to fix it ourselves. What a bunch of **, we bought a new mower, used it once, and than it won't run and they suggest the only way to use it is fix it yourself. Stay away from Cub Cadet if you want a dependable mower you can use in the summer when your grass is growing. And typical of everything now you have a warranty but they aren't covered. So the dealership wants you to pay almost $900 with tax to just buy them without being installed. None of these are made serviceable. Along with, without having a mechanical background and tools you won't even be able to rebuild them. Me being an equipment mechanic I was able to rebuild mine and make them serviceable but this just shows how cheap even a $10,000 mower is. I bought into the hype and reviews but I will not be buying another cub. Lastly, I posted this review on Cub Cadet. Within minutes it was removed for not meeting their guidelines. I purchased a Cub Cadet ProZ 160s The S means it has a steering wheel instead of lap bars. Bought it brand new and as it is advertised it will mow over just about any hillside you would need it to. BUT it just will not mow the grass. From the start it would leave about a 2 to 3 inch strip of grass every where you mowed. It just would not cut the grass where the front wheels would run over it first. I took probably a hundred picture of this and after 5 different service shops and each shop saying the deck was not leveled correctly just one mowing after the previous shop leveled it and then replacing blades 3 times and raising the speed of the mower it stills leaves the same strip of grass.

Cub Cadet refuses to repair or replace it and even lied and said the came to my home and test mowed with at my home and found no problem. Now this was a customer service rep that said this. No has been to my home. Next step will be legal action I guess. Now let's keep in mind all this above listed work was performed in one season and the mower was new. Save yourself the headache and aggravation. Don't buy this product. They will not stand behind their warranty and lie when approached about it. Buyer beware, I will be giving a review on three companies involved in one transaction. These companies are Tractor Supply, TSC's extended warranty company - Asurion and lastly Cub Cadet. Little back story, I have a Cub Cadet that I bought at Tractor Supply that was made by Cub Cadet, the 1554 series. We live out in the country and I have had this for over 15 yrs and plowed snow, mowed 4 acres and used it in my garden. Naturally after 15 yrs and doing triple duty, it is ready to go over the lawn tractor rainbow bridge. So since I had a great experience with Tractor Supply and Cub Cadet in the past I decided to do it a second time.

I bought a Cub Cadet XT1 Enduro, 42 in. last year on May 27, 2021 with an extended warranty from Asurion. It mowed really great last year. I used it just like I used the other one in regards to mowing and no snow plowing or garden work. So I put it away for the winter and waited to mow again in the spring and summer of 2022. Since we have had a early spring here in Ohio this year, we had to start the mowing season early. I mowed three times and on the third time the Cub Cadet XT1 Enduro, 42 in. stopped moving. I looked underneath and found that the transmission belt came off and destroyed the fan blade on top of the transmission due to STICKS, Yes I said STICKS. I was VERY, VERY upset because it had not even been a year and I bought it to replace the 1554 series and it broke down.

Asurion - I called Asurion because of the extended warranty and knowing that Cub Cadet would not touch it because it was not a regular warranty issue. Asurion said that because it was under manufacture warranty and that Cub Cadet had to handle it. Since it was so close to the end of the manufacture warranty I asked if they could take over. The lady that I talked to said sure and they would handle it. What happened is that she lied to me and sent the case straight to Cub Cadet, who won't handle it because it is not a manufactured warranty issue. Asurion has used every excuse on why not to honor their contract with both Tractor Supply and Cub Cadet. If you research Asurion you will find person after person, after person, person after person, after person, person after person, after person say the very same thing.

Tractor Supply - First I called the store where I bought it at and they could only go so far and then I started a three day journey into abyss. I would be told time and time again that the extended warranty should cover this and time and time again they came back and told me that Asurion said that it is just like the manufacture warranty and they would not cover it. I had been told at one time that Asurion would not handle it because Cub Cadet started the claim. Now that happened because Asurion lied to me and said they was going to handle it. Now that is where I am at as of 5/19/21 with Tractor Supply and Asurion.

The question that I had asked Tractor Supply was "Why in the world did I pay $400.00 for an extension warranty if it won't even cover it and if sticks will cripple it then that means that I bought a $3000.00 paper weight." By the way TSC never answered that question. TSC sent just sent me a email that said my problem was not covered according to Asurion even though TSC's own people said that it should be covered.

Cub Cadet - Although I did not deal with them on this issue directly, I mention them because this is the kind of crap that they are making. Even the TSC's store told me that this is a tough lawn mower and could handle my lawn. Like I mentioned before "I paid $400.00 for an extension warranty that won't even cover it and if sticks will cripple it then that also means that I bought a $3000.00 lawn mower for nothing." and that is what Cub Cadet is putting out for us to buy.

Conclusion - I urge all people who want/need a lawn mower, don't buy a Cub Cadet and by NO means buy anything from Tractor Supply and for ALL that it is worth do not buy anything from anyone that use Asurion to cover it. Just before I got ready to post this review, Tractor Supply did tell me that they will give me $200.00 back from my extended warranty cost. That equals to only 6% of the total cost that I spent that the three of them stole from me and people like me with their bait and switch and false promises in order to make a sale. I had a boss tell me one time about dealing with the public, "Sell them the dream, sell them the dream".

Called back a week later they said Cub cadet hadn't decided yet. 3 weeks later I called back they said it's ready, went and picked it up. Head called a few times in the week prior but the service manager was never available till the day I picked it up. It was over a week before I could use it the first time because of rain, done fine. But the problem was it would quit pulling after about a half a tank of gas. Was 3 weeks later before I was able to run it long enough for it to get warm enough and hydrostatic quit pulling again. It only had about a month of warranty left when I carried it to dealership.

Needless to say they kept it to warranty was over. Have tried repeatedly to contact Cub cadet set on hold for 2 to 3 hours each time no answer. Contact the dealership they said it was out of warranty, would cost me close to $900. Cub cadet only has one phone number for anything related to Cub cadet. I have been a loyal Cub cadet owner for years. I have a 25-year-old Murray GT that still runs and cuts grass like it should. Have a 3-year-old Cub cadet that's a boat anchor. It's ridiculous the cost of the hydrostat is a third of the price of the mower. Will never buy another Cub cadet anything or anything affiliated with them including any of the affiliated dealers.

Purchased a Cub Cadet XT1 Enduro LT 50 in. Fabricated Deck 24 HP V-Twin Kohler 7000 Series Engine Hydrostatic Drive Gas Riding Lawn Tractor at Home Depot. I ordered it online and when it arrived 3 weeks later the entire plastic engine cover and control panel were crushed in. I had to refuse the delivery. I ordered another one and 3 more weeks later it arrived and outward it looked ok. As I unpackaged the tractor I again found the Plastic Engine cover broken in several places as well as the PTO control panel broken apart. Areas under the engine cover also broken. I called Cub Cadet hoping they would help me since this is my second tractor of theirs that was damaged upon arrival. I was told that the only way they could help me is if I actually paid for the repairs on the new tractor, they would not send me any parts and I would have to get the tractor to a place and pay to get it fixed.

The way they create these tractors is horrible. They are completely open on on top and the sides. They seem to mostly rely on plastic wrap for protection. The worst part I found was the cheaply designed plastic engine cover. It is so thin I cannot imagine this thing lasting more than a season without breaking from the vibration. I have again returned this Tractor to Home Depot and I will never again purchase a Cub Cadet product. Which is a shame since I purchased a snow blower years ago and that is a quality piece and have never had a problem with it. When I called Customer Service the guy I spoke to was so unhelpful and was acting like I had no business calling them. Be advised that if you have one of the older mowers this will be a routine failure. I took the breaded cable to a machine shop and had them make an identical part out of steel which works great. Cub Cadet should have done this when they first learned of the problem, but as other have indicated, they claim no responsibility for design failures and broken parts.

I bought a Cub Cadet riding mower because I thought it was a quality mower and that the company would stand behind their product which they do not. I got it in August of 2020 and the second time used it this year the steering started skipping and wouldn't turn so I called the local dealer and was told they could pick it up from my house for 50.00 and another 50.00 to bring it back. So I got a friend to take it to them and after four days my wife called and they told her the steering shaft was bent from abuse and was not covered under the warranty and would be 150.00 to repair. So when called to see when it would be ready and they told me a factory rep looked at it and said the heavy duty part was going to free but we had to pay for the service 150.00 when I got it back there was a different part replaced so I'm not really sure what is going on but I do know I will never buy another cub cadet.

Purchased new Cub because it would mow 4" high. It has the mulching kit. It throws grass in my rock landscaping, rattles like it will fall apart, tears up the grass. Cannot turn as a zero turn for the previous reason. My old one could turn on a dime, mulch grass perfect. The new ZT1's tires push down grass and I have to overlap to get that mowed. Leaves grass all over the lawn and narrow strips un-mowed. I would love to have my money back and my old mower. I purchased it from A to Z Rental in Pekin, Illinois. I have complained but have not gotten much response. I will be going there this week. If he won't do anything, I will have to go after the company.

WE INVESTED OVER $4000. An electric ride on cub cadet. Had quirks, like a sticking pedal, had to be quick to avoid racing into a tree or over an embankment, were told use WD40. Did not work they adjusted it. It stopped working we did not have it more than a few hours, took a month to troubleshoot, and calling the company did nothing. Our dealer in Union Maine had to await a part to diagnose, then told us it was not covered by “best warranty in the business”, blamed mouse damage, brand new mower. They finally got it working (after loaning us their mower when lawn got out of hand, and the ticks). But it was not charging. Winter came, we had it under cover. The charger light did not come on. They came and got mower and charger. Charger is defective. They do not have another one as the new models are different and will not work on our mower. No idea when the company will send out a new charger. We are stuck.

Last year we pleaded, and ultimately were upset with the apathy of cub cadet and the local dealer we bought it from, they refused to refund us for this expensive mower which we have now used under ten hours. We tried going through AG office. We are stuck. This is one of the worst investments we have ever made. There are design flaws. It is overpriced. Updated on 04/19/2021: This is an update to a review posted on April 10. Today (Sunday) when I attempted to start my electric mower, I heard a loud pop and then a strong electrical smell. I quickly turned it off, and ran like hell away from the electric mower. I feared either a runaway fire or an explosion of the lithium iron battery pack. Thank God it did neither. The mower is less than a year old. Multiple problems have been registered with both the dealer and Cub Cadet corporate over the past 11-1/2 months, and all I ever received from the dealer was "everything checks out, no problems found". Draw your own conclusion.

Original Review: I have owned a Cub Cadet CC 30e for 11-1/2 months. I have experienced repeated electrical problems in this period of time. Mower just going dead after mowing for 5-15 minutes (multiple times), unable to restart the mower for 15-20 minutes after it goes dead (multiple times), unable to turn on the mower deck (multiple times), and unable to charge the mower most recently - the LCD display would not display a charge status (display blank) and then the mower charge LED indicators which show the level of charge completely shut off. Of course, the Cub Cadet dealer always says "can't reproduce the problem, gee we just don't have problems with this electric mower".

I am extremely frustrated and upset with both the dealer and Cub Cadet. Filing a case with Cub Cadet corporate support to report these issues was completely worthless! And the final straw, the dealer has had my mower for three days, and they just told me on Friday "we can't get the mower back to you until Tuesday of next week" - leaving me without a mower for almost a week. Neither Cub Cadet or their dealers stand behind their products, no matter what they may say. My recommendation - absolutely do not even consider buying any Cub Cadet product.

Key switch went out. Manufacture company did nothing and did not let us know that they don't make that part number so I had to go on Amazon and find a replacement so hopefully it works. All I have to say is ask a lot of questions when you buy something as expensive as this mower was. Cub Cadet should do something but yes they will but you figure how to get it to a shop which will cost you to take it in and get it back to your home..not a happy camper customer. Just want people to know what to expect. I got more information from a shop than I did from cub cadet manufacturer.

Purchased the Cub Cadet XT1 lawn tractor from Home Depot on 05/03/2019 with a "2 yr MFG warranty" for $2026.36 after taxes. The warranty is a joke. Six months ago the Koehler engine wouldn't turn over. I quickly discovered it was not the battery. Not having a way to transport the unit to a repair shop I googled a possible fix and called a repair shop.. I was told the the problem was common for Kohler engines and I could take the top cover off the engine and manually crank the engine to get it past the spot it was stuck at. The problem got increasingly common and I got tired of having to crank the engine like a model T.

I rented a trailer for $35.00 and took the unit to a local repair shop that covers Koehler warranties. After 2 weeks at the shop I got a call from the repair shop. Was told the valves needed to be adjusted but according to the repair man and Koehler service manager the work was not covered under the pathetic 2 yr MFG warranty. Even though it is still under warranty I have to pay for the valve re-adjustment. Not only that I have to rent another trailer for $35.00 to bring it home. Needless to say I am livid. Kohler engines are not recommended under any circumstances.

The millennial garbage they make nowadays can't even hold a candle to the power equipment of yore. After waiting a week to get the shear pins required everytime wet snow ices up the blades, I found out about cub cadet's legendary capacity for flooding when primed as instructed... Which left me hand shoveling my driveway again in the second snow storm of its second year of operation.

As we got into the 3rd snowfall, wet and heavy, I set out with a pocket full of shear pins to handle the drive before it got cold and turned my driveway into a skating rink. Then as I unclogged the snow blower for the third time, after replacing the SECOND set of shear pins; a burning odor crept from the machine. Shear pins intact and now clear of snow the blades spun no more. Ugh, what did I expect from a modern -nancyfied snowblower that needed shear pins to coddle its substandard engineering and power? Maybe to live longer than a hamster... Don't buy it. Get yourself a rebuilt dinosaur, or pay to have your old one repaired. My wife and I bought a new Cub Cadet XT1, LT42" in March to mow our own lawn with instead of paying someone else to do it for us. The first few months it would sputter and die showing low battery. So I bought a battery charger for it and charged it up..so I thought. Finally got fed up with it stalling and not being able to start it sometimes for days. I called the extended warranty number In July, and was referred to a "licensed" Cub Cadet repair shop near us. It sat at their shop for three weeks while they tried to figure out the problem.

I called the Cub Cadet number to find a different repair shop and got a different "licensed" Cub Cadet repair shop number and called them. They would need to pick up the mower from my house, so I called the first small engine repair shop and asked them to bring it back so I could have a different small engine repair shop pick it up. They delivered it a few days later, and I called the second shop to let them know I have my mower back. We went back and forth for about two weeks while they called Cub Cadet to find solutions with out having my lawn mower in the shop.

Meanwhile, I still can not get my lawn mower to stay on. Mid August (17th) comes around and the second repair shop picks up my lawn mower where it has been sitting while they try to figure out what is wrong with my mower. It is now October 6th and they are waiting on a part that may be delivered as soon as October 28th. In the meantime, I have been paying my neighbor to mow my lawn that I should have been able to mow my self.

My one hundred percent dissatisfaction is based on the first and only time I have purchased their product, and my poor experience with Cub Cadet is two fold. First is a poor quality product, and second is that the certified Cub Cadet small engine repair shops have yet to repair a product they sell. I understand that they are part of a system events, and that system needs adjusting. Particularly in a parts department where they do not have the part in stock. Which brings me to another point. If Cub Cadet does not have the part in stock, then either this is such a common problem that they have run out, or the parts department does not know how to keep parts in stock. Aside from all this, I have a great used lawn mower for sale with only about twelve hours of use on it if any one is interested.

A gentleman explained that he never done this type of transaction but he believed that the lady that works the financial side does. I called back the next day and was told that they see the transaction and was waiting from something from Cub Cadet to show everything was good. No problem, so couldn't get it that day. I called back to the dealer on the day that it was supposed to be ready for pick up (according to the email from Cub Cadet). The gentleman told me that the lady hadn't let him know if authorization had been sent to them and she was on lunch break, but he would call back when she returned, that was about noon.

The only thing the guy could tell me is "we can't see the issue so you have to go through the dealer", I asked to speak to a supervisor and he said he just talked to his supervisor "and they can't see the issue" talk to the dealer....

I didn't pay $7,800 to the dealer. "I Paid it to you" so if a customer that paid you money has an issue don't pawn it off to someone else. Ensure that your customer's experience is satisfactory from beginning to end, not just after you collect payment from me.... What should have happen is someone from Cub Cadet should have reached out to the dealer to find the break in communication and resolve the issue there.... Or the finance lady at the dealer should have called instead of waiting for something that's obviously not coming. Well after talking to Cub Cadet I reached back out to the dealer who ensured me that he would call me back before the end of the day to let me know what was going on... Crickets...They are now closed for the day cause it's after 6pm and I still haven't heard anything back from them, and worst of all still no $7,800 mower that I already paid for.

I own a 3 year old ProZ 500 professional series mower used for our residential property. We have had the mower professionally serviced every year at a certified Cub Cadet dealership and have less than 250 hours on the machine. We take impeccable care of our mower and expected to get a quality product built to last. That's not what we got. Every year we have had issues with fuses needing to be replaced, a minor thing but still a nuisance. This year, we had it serviced and after mowing one time the next time the left lever went out. Per the service center the transmission hydraulic pump is bad which they said "should never happen". We are 2 months outside of the warranty and service said we should call to try and have it covered because it is such a major part and should not fail.

We spoke to Cub Cadet's representative who was rude, condescending and basically said it is outside warranty so too bad. This is a major part failure that will cost almost $1500 to repair. If this fails after 235 hours how is this "professional series" meant to be used if someone wanted your product for a lawn business or a very large property, it's not. So what I gather is they build a poorly crafted machine, not meant to last and then don't stand behind your product. Frankly, this is why people don't buy American products. My neighbors with Kubota mowers aren't having these issues. They have great mowers and apparently good customer service. I will never buy a Cub Cadet again and wouldn't recommend one to anyone.

So I looked the company back up and it clearly states you have 14 days to return new or lightly used equipment, keep in mind we didn't use, but we did put gas in it.

After the 3rd day and many phone calls a supervisor Phil got on the phone and says when you google Club Cadet they don't have anything to do with what it says about the return policy. I own a company and I know that each company can monitor what is on the websites. After arguing for 15 min, his words, "You are stuck with the equipment, you and your attorney have fun...." and then hung up on me. Yes I am irate and yes my attorney will have fun with this. You have to honor your word.. Sad thing is they would have gotten a larger sale out of this, as we were going to purchase a small tractor... NOT NOW!!!!!! BUYERS BE WARE -- I WOULD NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY.

I have been mowing 2+ acres with a 2006 LT1550 for years, replaced the belt twice and steering bushing twice, nothing else other than regular maintenance and it still runs great. This past weekend I upgraded to the ZT2 54. We have no grass to cut yet, but the neighbors flower bed is tempting....can't wait to try it.
