    I recently ordered some supplements from VitaCost and was happy with the experience. The website was easy to navigate, prices were competitive, and I found what I needed. My order arrived in a timely manner. The packaging could've been better - It was an envelope with no protective materials to prevent damage during transit. Overall, I'm satisfied and may order from VitaCost again.

    Very disappointed!! I placed my order over two weeks ago and did not get it yet. There were items I really rely on and need them ASAP. The fact that it did not arrive yet is absolutely not acceptable.. Unreal!

    The Solgar Advanced Calcium Complex was recommended by our orthopedic doctor after my husband had a dexascan. I was taking a Calcium Citrate supplement but my husband was not taking anything. We ordered thru Vitacost and pricing was less than what the PA had told us. So far so good with both of us taking it. Only issue is pill is very large.

    The product came packed very well, and a day later as I did not know what carrier was being used and I did not know who they were; therefore, I was not home, and they were denied access. Other than that, everything was fine... T he dry ice was warm, because of the delay, however, it was not hot and everything was packaged very securely. I am "assuming" the Udo's Oil is keep refrigerated at Vitacost, somewhere, until the product is ordered. The price was also very fair as you had a sale. Also, for those who do not know about Udo's Choice Oil, I would suggest to check this oil out, and also listen to the short, eight minute explanation Udo Erasmus has, on the internet, regarding the important of this oil combination for health. Thank you, again, Vitacost. Thank you very much.

    They used to be ok, now they are scammers using a low-quality shipper who damages the products, never delivers, or delivers damaged products in boxes full of broken glass. Vitacost doesn't immediately make things right, or ever. Ripoff.

    They keep canceling orders without notice. This is the second time in the past couple of months. You get an email order confirmation, see it in your order history on your account, then days go by with no shipping confirmation. You look back at your account and the order isn't showing anymore. I don't have time for this anymore. I called about it the first time and they said unspecified problem with payment blah blah but can't give details and wanted me to jump through hoops to get the order resubmitted. I passed and place another smaller order that went through. Now we have another one disappear and I'm done. Life is too short to waste time on this sort of thing. Moving on to other companies.

    I ordered a few items but was especially wanting the Eden Soy Milk, unsweetened. It has 12 grams of protein per cup. This is higher than any other soy milk that I have seen. It is great for making soy yoghurt. Vitacost had the best price. I checked out several online and local locations for this milk. Besides their price the packaging was over the top! I have bought this online before from another popular site but have never seen it so well protected for shipping as done by Vitacost. My order arrived in just a few days.

    I placed an order with Vitacost. I've used them for years. I looked at my credit card, and there were two charges. This had never happened before. One for the order, and an additional one for the order but six cents higher. When I called, I was told that the total price when ordering is just an "estimate" and if it goes up by the time they fill the order, they put the additional full charge on, and then credit the original order amount back in 7-10 days. Does this seem like it might have something to do with prices changing from tariff's? Has anyone else seen this? I'm truly baffled. And needless to say, won't be ordering from them again.

    I have been shopping at Vitacost for 8-10 years I don't even remember how long, though what I remember is to always shop at Vitacost automatically. The reason are many from Great prices to free and fast shipping. Not to mention their service is very understandable and friendly. One of important reason for me to shop at Vitacost is their selection of products are so huge that all my needs of Supplements/health food are met that I don't need to look elsewhere.

    Very, very slow and pedantic communication. I placed an order for a bag of matcha green tea. 2 weeks later I’m calling them to see where my order is. After 15 minutes of searching for my order as I gave them the order number, they tell me it’s on hold due to needing to verify my info. I told them that I responded immediately to their verification email that they sent days after telling me my order was on its way…. They never checked their email/communications. It’s 2025. To be this slow and this inept in an industry like this is shameful. I won’t be ordering again.

    Ordered Hawaiian macadamia chocolates. Product came heat damaged but it's chocolate so I think I be ok😄. Ordered 4 packs of chocolate macadamia nuts. When delivery versed it was evident the product had melted and resolidified.

    Vitacost had a rewards points program. When I redeemed my points for 5.00 off my cart, my points were subtracted, but I didn't get the discount. I contacted cust. serv., they sent me another coupon that didn't work either. This company must have been bought by another entity, because their cust. service is poorly trained and ill-informed.

    I've been a very frequent customer of Vitacost for at least 8 years. The last 2 months I've had 5 orders with damaged items. The most recent one was a bottle of olive oil that leaked all over my patio, which now has a very large stain that won't come up. I've contacted them via phone and email but get the run-around. I'm DONE with Vitacost. This is a disgusting way to treat a loyal customer! I've noticed others comments in online reviews about how much Vitacost has gone downhill. I agree and will switch to iHerb and Thrive for my future orders.

    Why can Vitacost allow a customer to just shop, get the promotions and pay, without throwing a wrench into the online experience? Their latest customer aggravation is to limit a purchase, yes, they don't want our money. They capped off the additional discount. I asked if I could make a second order for the amount over and receive the exact same discount on a second purchase. "Yes" was the information, kindly delivered by a representative, who is being asked this repeatedly. Hence 2 stars instead of zero. Still this company isn't satisfied with the inconvenience of the customer in placing another order. They must verbally qualify that "only 2 orders would be allowed". It's as though they need to do you a favor by taking money for goods.

    I never recommend this when asked. I don't need to make enemies and I warn everyone who wants my opinion of Vitacost, that they will find what they want at a competitive price and then be hassled by their pettiness time and time again. Another example: Vitacost takes the free shipping minimum from the total after discounts but caps the discounts on the pre total!

    I had ordered from Vitacost for 20+ years, spent several hundreds of dollars. They sent me a damaged product - the pills were all stuck to the cotton. I ordered two bottles of 240 pills per bottle, so I didn't get to the 2nd bottle until 2 months later--they said it's outside the return or refund window!!--then they shouldn't sell 2 large bottles if the shelf-life is so short! I don't trust even the pills not stuck--obviously humidity in the bottle or compromised in some other way. I tried to get to a manager, but several customer service agents wouldn't do so, and English skills were quite poor. It was $35/bottle but it's also the lack of customer service to a longtime customer. I do not recommend. There are other companies with better deals that I will begin ordering from--I'll never order from them again... and to repeat, I ordered for YEARS, as did other family members--we will never do so again.

    I have been a customer of Vitacost for over 4 years but over the last year I have received almost expired products, broken packages, items being omitted and items included I didn't order. Most recently I purchase a number of items and instead of the package arriving it was sent back to the shipper with no explanation. I called and reached 3 different agents, and none understand what I was trying to explain or could remedy the situation so I asked for a refund which was supposed to post in up to 7 days.

    However when the time passed, I contacted Vitacost again and they said that Vitacost had cancelled the refund. None of this was done with my permission and they never contacted me. 4 years ago ordering from Vitacost was a nice convenience and the product selection was good but 4 years later, customer service is abysmal, they are selling almost expired products and now they are not refunding me my money. There is no reason now to trust this company and we will not be doing business with them again.

    Vitacost used to be a great company and I've ordered from them for years. This last order placed on March 12 was completely mangled and neither Vitacost nor their worst delivery service, OnTrac, even bothered to let me know that most of my order was damaged in the shipping. It has taken me weeks and hours of my time to find out where my order was, which was just left pending on the Vitacost website. They had no problem charging my credit card on the 12th but never followed up with shipping the remainder of my order. I had to find it myself and request that it be shipped immediately since it's so late being delivered.

    They have not even bothered to ship it out yet and told me it would take another week before I could expect to receive my order placed on March 12. No communication from either OnTrac or Vitacost and no customer support to make sure the remainder of my original order would be expedited. That's the last order I'll probably place at Vitacost. Too much has changed for the worst with that company and their delivery service!!

    Vitacost increased the payment amount of our latest payment without our knowledge or agreement. We paid via Paypal and they were the one who notified us of the increased price and said we should contact Vitacost to find out the reason for the increase. So I did contact them. Twice, over the course of nearly a week. Both emails were ignored.

    I *still* don't know why Vitacost summarily increased our payment without our knowledge or consent. That they can get away with doing this is disturbing at best. We will definitely take our business elsewhere now that we know Vitacost can and WILL increase payment amount at whim after customer has received acknowledgment of order payment. Shady business!

    Horrible customer service, 5 orders all 5 damaged. They use horrible shipping companies like Ontrac, etc and delivered boxes are destroyed because Vitacost poorly packages them, etc. Then customer service sound like they are 7 years old and are less intelligent. Hours on the phone and they never answered many emails I sent. We will never use these disgraces again. Use The New Mall on eBay, or Amazon, or Walmart etc.... For no troubles..

    Just started ordering again from Vitacost. First order got an expired product. 2nd order not packed well and crackers were damaged and left out an item and sent wrong one. Spent Hours on phone to get a resolve - Too much to type but read your reviews before ordering. They reshipped the left out item and said crediting for other. I needed so to reorder I had to pay shipping. Said free shipping code but it was NOT. Ended up paying $3.50 more than originally cost. Refunded me Less than I paid. They lied - told me crediting a certain amount. - can see it on acct. Yet never did and it was for less.

    Why sent one of the items and credit me (less) for the other. Makes no common sense. I finally spoke to someone next day and ask her why they lie? Not to forget to mention at first I got sent around, hung up/disconnected several times - Just to fix "THEIR" mistake. Will see when I check my bank in a day if they even did what the last email said about how much crediting. My daughter and I order together and she said - not ordering from them again.

    My orders come in the largest box possible, which weighs a tremendous amount. I requested on several occasions that my orders be put into smaller boxes, but no one listens. The latest order will be received tomorrow...and I just looked at how it was boxed. 1 box was 34 pounds and the other, 16 pounds. They just DON'T LISTEN. I will have to find another vendor who will break the purchases up into smaller, less heavy boxes.

    I'm giving 2 stars because I've had great experiences for years until Nov/Dec 2024, which was a 1-star or less experience. I made 3 orders on one day so I could use the $10 off $50 order twice, plus a different (larger) order for nearly $200 with a 15% coupon. I received email order confirmations for all 3 orders, then heard nothing else for a few weeks.

    When I finally checked in on what was going on, all the orders were nowhere to be found in my account! I emailed, no response in 5 days (they promise 2 days). I tried the customer service form on the website, and that's been non-responsive (won't take entries) for 3-4 weeks now. I got on chat, and after 30 minutes learned 2 things:
    1. Multiple orders placed in the same hour are automatically cancelled - apparently without notifying the customer! Vitacost assumes you made a mistake! This is a horrid and broken protocol.

    2. Chat couldn't help me.

    I tried phone customer service and twice when I asked for level 2 support, I was mysteriously cut off. The third time I was promised a callback from a supervisor - nothing in 2 weeks. I'm not sure what has degenerated with Vitacost CS, but I'm supremely disappointed!!! I was going to re-order the same order (chat said they could give a refund for the difference) but I'm so frustrated that I'm only grabbing a few things I can't get elsewhere. I'll be curious to see if I am able to secure the refund for the difference (and the Black Friday coupon I was using) or not...

    This place has gone right downhill. The chat feature does not work (they put you in a queue, but nobody will ever attend to you), and the phone hold time is extremely long. When you finally reach a human, you will find someone who is just reading off a script to get rid of you, with no power to fix your problem. I logged into the Vitacost website and a popup greeted me which promised me a 20% discount code if I signed up for text messaging. I received my code promptly and used it on my order. The order seemed to go through smoothly - I received the usual order confirmation by email and a pending charge was made on my credit card.

    After a week, since I did not receive any further emails, I went back into my account to check on my order. It had mysteriously vanished. Inputting the order confirmation number, I received the message "No Such Order". As I explained before, it was very difficult to contact Vitacost. After wasting a lot of time, when I finally reached a rep, I was told that the order was cancelled because I had used a coupon code that was only meant for new customers and that I should have read the small print.

    1. If the offer was not valid for existing customers, they should not have flashed me the offer and sent me the Coupon Code. After all, I used the same account with the same email, and Vitacost already knew I was an existing customer. At this point, the script should already have provided feedback that "You are not eligible for the offer because it is only for new customers".

    2. The coupon code sent to me by Vitacost was accepted when I placed the order, and I received the usual order confirmation email. Again, if I was not eligible to use the coupon code, the script should have provided feedback at this point instead of allowing me to place my order.

    But the biggest complaint of all is the following:
    3. A Vitacost employee then proceeded to cancel my order behind my back, all without a single email to inform me of the decision, leaving me waiting for my order. If a company needs to cancel a customer order for any reason, an email with an explanation and an apology is the least that is expected.

    4. This, coupled with HOW EXCRUCIATINGLY DIFFICULT IT IS TO CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE, makes Vitacost a company I will not be doing business with again.

    This company has gone downhill in the past years. I recently placed an order 11/12/2024 to be shipped to my daughter’s house in LA California. Two days later I received an email asking me for information on this order. I sent them the information they were asking for the same day. They canceled my order two days later and said they never received the information. I called them when I noticed they credited my credit card as they never sent me an email to tell me they were canceling the order. I reordered my order over the phone and received a confirmation number. They said it would be shipped in 2 to 3 days. I reordered on a Monday and on Thursday I sent them an email asking when will the order be shipped. I never received a reply.

    On Friday I called them and they canceled my order again and they could not tell me why again, plus they never asked for information again or did they send me an email about canceling the order. I told the lady on the phone I would not be reordering this again with them and that I will write a bad review and report them to the Better Business. I have be using this computer for over 30 years and I never had this problem before. They have become a crappy company and I recommend no one to do business with them. I ordered the same supplements and soap from iherbs and the price is the same. It will arrive in 3 days also.

HOWEVER, In the past month, I have three orders cancelled for no apparent reason. After spending significant time on these orders and reordering with the help of support people, their computer continues to cancel my orders. I tried to check out as a guest and use a different credit card to no avail. No one in the support team has been able to remedy the situation. I wonder how many customers they are losing?

    This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I ordered two products from their website. 2 days later I get an email from them telling me to email them last 4 digits, name, address, email. This is after the purchase was made they CHARGED me card! How strange. Nope. Totally fishy and weird. So I requested a refund via email. Zero replies to any of my emails and then went to their website and tried using the live support chat. Entirely worthless. It just sits there and does nothing, literally. Doesn't connect you to anyone. Then I finally had to call them. Took forever to get a hold of someone and when I finally did she was rude and then said.. "oh.. you want a refund?" after me telling her twice that was why I was calling. I said again, yes. She then put me on hold for about 20 minutes and eventually had to just hang up. What a ridiculous and pathetic level of service all the way around. Never, ever again will I ever use this company.

    I ordered a product for next day shipping. 7 days later still don't have the product. I called the 2nd day after the order to see what was wrong because Vitacost had e-mailed me to say there was an issue with Fedex. So I called Fedex and fedex said there was an address issue but only the shipper was the only one who could fix it. When I called Vitacost to tell customer service to call Fedex and fix the issue they said they couldn't call anyone. They could only send a message to their shipping department. I chatted twice with their online chat rep to no avail and Fedex still has the package stuck in their warehouse 7 days later. I ordered the same product on Amazon the same day as Vitacost non-rush and got the product 3 days later. Can you believe customer service was unwilling to pick up a phone and call fedex. Unbelievable, I won't use Vitacost again. If the package doesn't arrive in the next few days I will cancel the order and never use Vitacost again.

    I have been their client for many years, and they always used to care both for their clients and how the product is packaged but something has recently changed. Over a month ago, I ordered a few packages of quite expensive chocolate for a birthday. They decided to send it in a bag. Needless to say that over $100 in chocolate melted and got broken. I contacted them, they weren’t willing to give the money back and said they’ll send me a label to send it back. Twice I followed up and nothing. Money and chocolate went down the drain. I do not recommend to deal with this company any more, unless you're willing to risk your money on online food that may get there deformed.

    I have been a loyal and long term customer of Vitacost for many years. I have always liked their products and prices and it is my "go to" website for all my vitamin needs and more. Recently, they started charging a signature delivery fee of $9.15 for weight loss supplements delivered to New York State. The problem is that I am ordering the same vitamin supplements for years, none of which are weight loss supplements. They are charging this ridiculous fee for Magnesium supplements and Women's Multivitamins.

    When I inquire about it, they tell me to have a nice day. I have never been treated this way by their customer service. What a shame that they will be losing very good long term customer. The funny thing is that I can purchase the same products on a different website and not be charged this delivery fee. In my humble opinion, this is a scam and no one should have to pay an additional $9.15 fee to have vitamins delivered to New York. Vitacost, you lost my business!

    We have used Vitacost for many years without issue but lately, orders have not received and we were never notified they were not shippped due to being "lost" or "damaged". Items arrive carelessly packaged resulting in dented cans, crushed items, opened items from the damage of being poorly packed. They should not be packaging laundry detergent, window cleaner, etc. and toilet paper with food items.

    Their website has had glitches resulting in multiple orders or no order on record. Have to scan credit card with fine tooth comb to be sure they have not made monetary errors as well and to be sure they credit where credit is due. We will have to stop using them as this does not seem to be improving. They apparently sold out to a large company and things have gone downhill since. What a waste of food and product to have this happen to so many customers.

    I have been buying supplements from Vitacost for a long time and generally have been pleased with them. Recently I bought some vitamin E with mixed tocotrienols from them and when the order arrived on 8/26/24, I noted that the manufacture date was 1/24 and there was no expiration date listed on the bottle. Bottom line is that I received 8 month old product with no known expiration date.

    I called and spoke with a supervisor about the problem who indicated to me that if a Vitacost product didn’t show an expiration date that the customer is to assume that it’s good for 2 years from the manufacture date. I responded that this is a ridiculous way to do business and couldn’t understand why they can’t or don’t put an expiration date on the product bottle (as is standard practice with any reputable supplement manufacturer). The supervisor didn’t even offer a remedy to replace or return the product for a fresher version. I believe that I’ll think twice before I order from Vitacost in the future. I’m not inclined to continue to do business with a company that appears to be in the “amateur hour” mode!

    Vitacost overcharged me for sales tax for Order # ----'8674. (1) Light Mountain Chestnut Hair Dye $8.19 * 8% sales tax (0.66) = $8.85 + $8.99 Shipping = $17.84. Vitacost charged me 17% sales tax of $1.39. I should have been charged 8% sales tax. I called Vitacost at 1:26 PM on May 6, 2024 & recorded my conversation with the Vitacost representative. He told me that the 0.71 overcharge on my debit card would be corrected however, I received an email from my bank that Vitacost charged me $18.55 instead of $17.84. The sales tax for 44106 zip code is 8% not 17%.

    I have been ordering from Vitacost for years but lately the orders show up with food items next to cleaning and chemicals. In the past they shipped with FedEx and this never happened. The items were packaged in plastic bags to separate food items from supplements and chemical products such as shampoo and dish soap were never packaged next to food or vitamins.     For many years I have been a very satisfied Vitacost shopper. Yes, vitamins can be purchased in many places, but from my experience and research, Vitacost is the best. Stores such as Wal-mart, the grocery store, and amazon (heaven help me!) have no specialty; they sell a great variety of different things, and so if their vitamins are cheap, so what?     They shipped my package, a few days later FedEx returned it to facility because it was mispackaged/mislabeled/damaged on arrival. It was returned to the company and there was proof with the signature. Vitacost never refunded me, emailed me, called me! Nothing! Over a week later. I was wondering where it was and had to search for it. I reached out to vitacost and they confirmed it was returned to their facility but told me they were going to review my request for a refund? Maybe that should’ve been done over a week ago? I had to report fraud to my credit card because they still have not refunded me even though they are aware the product never reached me at their fault. If I didn’t reach out, I feel like they wouldn’t have issued a refund and I never would’ve received any merchandise, horrible business ethics.

    I've been a 15 year customer of Vitacost. They have lost my business. They use a substandard shipping service. My order was to arrive (and was OUT FOR DELIVERY) on April 23. No delivery. Received notification on April 24 that item was brought back to the warehouse for unforeseen circumstances and would be re-delivered in a day or two. What??? Well the second day came and went and still no delivery, even though the tracking said once again, out for delivery. Customer service is now in the Caribbean (used to be in the USA). They were of no help. If I wanted info from shipping company, I had to text them. I did so and they said they are probably going to return items to warehouse AGAIN.

    Took a return flight from SFB to CVG 04/11/2024 and it was the absolute best overall experience, unlike the flight from CVG to SFB (review posted about that flight separately). The flight crew and staff were professional and attentive. The stewardess gave our seven year old a kid's flight box with snacks and his Allegiant Air wings. The flight was smooth all the way in although there was some inclement weather going on around CVG. Flight was smooth and relaxing the whole way.

    I have purchased from Vitacost once before. They had the flour I was recommended for making low-glycemic breads in bulk amount. They also had aluminum-free baking soda which is hard to find. I got these two items again and ordered new flour that only came in a small quantity. I assumed Vitacost provided a bulk operation for all the items. This is not so.

    They packaged the items well putting an extra bag around the bill flour which helped contain leaks. I didn’t end up having any in the box but when I got the items out the bulk flour bag had become unsealed during shipment. Shipping was speedy. Compared to another online store I buy bulk items from the shipping costs more at Vitacost but it arrives sooner so I think that is fair.

    My many-year online go-to for vitamins, supplements, often interesting and exciting food choices, generally good beauty items, and household items like wonderful soap, & recycled paper items like paper towels, et al. Think their own Vitacost line of an olio of items is excellent and really well priced, compared with most brand names — On the whole, all their products are priced well and steady customers often receive an additional % off.

    Also appreciate their product lines, including Bob’s, and their many organic brands. Over the years the packaging offers real protection for any glass & other liquid containers, so only minor to no spillage anymore. Also, delivery is reliable and swift and can be free with a not-too-hefty merchandise amount. Obviously then, I’m a fan, with only one bone to pick, the elimination of in-box invoices; know co. is saving paper & admin. costs, but found them helpful to check items received.

For I live on the east coast and the shipping company only delivers on the west coast. Again my package shows up on the system is damaged.     My local health food store wasn't keeping the teas I like in stock, so I found Vitacost that sells them. The price was very comparable to buying locally if I purchased a case' worth or more...so I bought two cases worth. I figured they would send me the cases stacked on top of each other and placed in a box. Nope. They packed the bottles individually. However, they packed them EXTREMELY well. They rolled the bottles several times in this diamond cut grocery-type paper. Then they enclosed them in several plastic zip-loc bags in case they began leaking. I was amazed at how well the tea bottles were packed inside the shipping box. And shipping was free.

    I have been a Vitacost customer for years but will no longer order from them. I placed an order on March 18th, 2024 for 5 items. When the package arrived only 3 of the items were shipped. I called customer service and asked what happened to the remaining 2 items. I was told it was an error and they would ship them out immediately as I had already paid for them. They supplied an email with a tracking number and details of what was being replaced. The package came today, instead of the two items I paid for I received a bottle of vitamins.

    I called and used the online chat and was told I cannot get a replacement now as there is only one replacement allowed per order. I explained but you have not replaced my missing items from my order. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was ignored. Now I have to wait 5 business days to be refunded and an extra 10 business days to reorder. When I asked why I was told "perhaps we are out of stock". I said I am looking at your website currently and the items are in stock, you took my money so why can't you just send the items? They will not. This is my last purchase. This company WAS fantastic, I cannot say the same any longer. Very disappointing.

    I have relied on Vitacost for years for their great quality of vitamins, which are reasonably priced. One feature I love is that I order enough to get free shipping, and my orders always arrive in just a few days. If a product is out of stock, they recommend a comparable product.     We've been a Vitacost customer for many years and have always received wonderful customer service, great products and great prices. I really wish Vitacost would return to shipping via FedEx instead of USPS. USPS is not reliable. Our packages are late, mis-delivered, left on the ground at our mailbox during the rain, etc. FedEx is far more reliable and trustworthy than USPS. For this reason we simply can't order as much as we would like to from Vitacost. It's become far too risky using USPS.

    I had dealt with Vitacost for more than 20 years, with great success. This year, 2024, Vitacost has changed. It takes my order, says there is a problem, I telephone to ask what problem, am told I will receive an e-mail explaining. I receive no e-mail. I try again with a new order. Same result. I said cancel, I was told no charge on my credit card until items were shipped. In fact, Vitacost has charged my credit card without shipping or any notification. I will never use Vitacost again. I would rate them as -1* if possible. Would be customers, proceed at your own peril!

    I have been buying vitamins, supplements and other products from Vitacost for quite a few years and will continue to do so. The prices are excellent and the service is quick. I always try to take advantage of the specials and keep a running list of what I know I will need. The few times I have ordered incorrectly, I have always been helped with a refund or a replacement. P.S. my state does charge sales tax on online purchases and it is added at the very end of the ordering/payment procedure.

    Ordered on 2/6, order was shipped next day and came to my house 3 days later. I was not expecting such fast shipping and arrival. The glass jars of product were very carefully packaged to ensure they wouldn't break en route. The product takes a little to get used to, as it's not the exact same flavor as I'm used to, but it's a great healthier version and allows me to give into my craving without the extra calories of regular versions.

    We needed more vitamins. Less than 17 hours after placing the order it magically became my anniversary. It seems that after you place an order they send a coupon. Well since it’s my anniversary I called and asked them to use my anniversary coupon since I bought less than 1 day ago. They said no. I will never buy from them again. I also canceled my order and bought Nature's Way instead from Amazon. I will get it in 3 days and then every 3 months. No delivery charge. Goodbye, Vitacost.

    I made an online purchase on 12/10/23 with Vitacost. The "Total Cost" was $110.35. When I checked my online banking today, I was charged $113.13, a 0.78 cent overcharge. I called (talked to manager Wayne) and was told that what we're told at the time of purchase can change due to sales tax. I asked, "How do you not know what my state sales tax is? Did it recently change?" Wayne said he couldn't answer this and restated that what we're told onscreen is the final cost can actually NOT be the final cost once it hits our debit/charge card. This is ridiculous. I've made hundreds of online purchases with countless retailers and individual business owners beginning with the arrival of Amazon in the 90s, and I've NEVER been overcharged and then told "this happens." Wayne said he would credit me the 0.78 cents as a "courtesy" but to take note of this next time. Is this even legal, anyone?

    In the last two weeks I've made 2 orders from Vitacost and am very happy I found this company. Not only did I find the products I was looking for, but I found them for very reasonable prices (and that's not even factoring in a Black Friday discount, which was appreciated). The products shipped so quickly, two or three days. Vitacost has also mastered the art of shipping nut butters, which if any of you order you know is a risky business. You are likely to end up with nut oils leaking all over the place. Vitacost has aced this problem with its effective packing materials. Beyond any question I will be patronizing Vitacost in the future. They simply do a great job.

    I have been doing business with Vitacost for about 8 years. I order all my nutritional supplements and now have branched out to include some spices, essential oils and a few food items. I have to say they have the very best customer service on the planet. Although I think they package the items in my orders very well, there have been a few shipments that have had a broken item inside. The item was always replaced immediately at no charge. One time when I placed a large order, it was shipped in 2 boxes but one of the boxes never arrived... Got lost in transit. They replaced the entire box immediately. The prices for the higher quality items I buy (like Garden of Life and MegaFood) are considerably less than what I was paying in my local health food store plus they offer sales and discounts every so often. When things got broken or crushed, they were replaced right away with or without a call to customer service.     I have purchased many things from shirataki noodles to tart cherry juice concentrate. I especially love that they have Lesser Evil Popcorn: No Cheese as I am allergic to dairy, and I can't find this particular one in many stores. I've been a customer for over 10 years and even when I didn't get my shipment (twice), customer service was very helpful and sent out another shipment.     They cancel your order without cause. Then won't go back and send it. Won't send a packing list. Send wrong items. Nothing but a pain. Won't send right item unless you reorder.     I placed an order on 9/4/23 and I have not received it as of 9/16/23. The new shipping company they are using, OnTrac, kept updating the estimated delivery date everyday for 7 days and I finally contacted them to inquire. They just said they’ll investigate. Meanwhile I contacted Vitacost and they said they place a replacement order but it’s under review by management. I took another 3 days to get the approval. While waiting for my Vitacost order I placed an order with Thrive Market. I received it in two days. The last shipment from Vitacost had big glass bottle of soy sauce that was broken and leaked all over the box and the floor. And that was not the first time. The prices are good and they send out 20% coupon periodically. But I’m not sure if it’s worth it anymore.

    I have been a customer of Vitacost for over 15 years. However, recently things have changed with their company. I received a delivery on a Sunday (when I wasn't expecting a package) and I was not notified of the delivery. I happened upon the package hours later (after it had been sitting out in the heat for hours) and the contents of the package were ruined from the heat. I contacted Vitacost regarding the situation, as the contents were heat sensitive, and ruined. They asked for photos, I sent photos. They "approved a refund" for my purchase in an email (several days later). I re-ordered the contents, and they were delivered safe the second time. However, the refund never appeared on my credit card statement.

    I contacted Vitacost regarding the refund - and they stated that they "denied my refund" (after approving the refund). Then they gave me the runaround stating that they not only denied my approved refund - but I needed to submit photos in the approved format (the same format I sent the original photos). I am so disgusted with this company - I will not be ordering from them in the future - which is sad - since I have been ordering from them for over 15 years. I just wanted everyone to know that their customer service department is a scam.

    Something went wrong when ordering online. No order was placed, but I was charged twice. On 8-24-23 the charge was PayPal 'pending.' But on 8-26-23 the charge was no longer 'pending,' and it was actually deducted from my bank account. I contacted Vitacost customer service by chat and phone on 8-24, 8-25, and 8-26. Last I contacted them on 8-26 they said there is no record of the charge, and I must wait 3-5 business days for someone from their credit team to contact me.

    In the meantime, my money is not available to me. It has be deducted from my bank account. Vitacost customer service was/is unskilled, rude, hard to understand due to poor English, and incompetent. And at all times, reluctant to allow me to talk to someone who could help me. They charged me twice for nothing, and are rudely reluctant to return the money.

    I had ordered the product Avalon Organic shampoo and conditioner, which left my hair extremely heavy and I was unable to even brush through it, even using more than enough conditioner. I met their terms (purchase in US and request within 60 days of purchase) and yet they "denied my request" to return the product for a refund. The only response I received was that a refund would not be issued because they don't accept returns on anything (unopened or not), which tells me that they don't ever intend to refund a customer, even when the customer isn't satisfied with a product. Their Refund Policy states that you can "request" a refund if you are unsatisfied with a product; however, since they don't accept returns, they won't ever refund the cost. The company and especially their "Refund Policy" is a complete joke and it tells me that they never intend to make things right for the paying customer. I would STAY AWAY FROM VITACOST company!

    I have been a loyal Vitacost customer for at least 15 years. Today was the final straw -- I received an order with two liquid items (coconut milk) completely demolished, soaking the package and destroying everything else in the order. After spending an hour cleaning up this mess, I tossed everything that was destroyed out and contacted Vitacost for a whopping refund of $5.00. Get this: no picture, no refund. I explained to the customer service person that everything was in the dumpster, and she said 'no photo, no refund.' My response was: after spending thousands of dollars with your company over the years, you want me to go to the dumpster to take a photo?' No thanks. I'll never order anything from them again. I hope this review steers any potential customers away from this company. They do not value their loyal customers.

    The only good thing I can say about Vitacost is their prices are good which is why I have ordered from them for several years. But no more. Customer service is abysmal. They overcharge me on sales tax and when I point out that they are charging me tax on items that are not taxable in my state, they make something up. Fortunately I pay with Paypal so I can report them for this. Their packaging is also terrible. They put heavy items on top of fragile ones which arrive crushed. They once put a damaged can of olive oil in my order which ended up leaking out into the plastic bag it was enclosed in as well as staining the shipping box. There are enough other sites out there to order from with better customer service. I don't mind paying more for good service.

    Do not shop here! They are the worst online retailer of them all. I placed an order pre maturely and then they told me I could not cancel it (which I tried immediately) - The order came without an invoice or packing slip. Took me three requests to obtain a copy because I was going to return the order. Their website says "We’re always here for you. On the rare occasion something goes awry, our trusted customer service team is happy to offer a solution!. For all domestic orders, if an item is missing, damaged or you are not satisfied with it, you may visit our Online Service Center to request a refund or replacement item within 60 days of your purchase". When I contacted them to request a return authorization, they refused to give me an RA and refund. Never do business with a company like this! BUYER BEWARE!!

    Please refer below to links I’ve included to others’ complaints filed with credentialed well known Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau where there are 218 in just the past three years. That’s many complaints for one business with the BBB. Links to complaints filed with Site Jabber and Trust Pilot are also included. I’m sure you can find more on other websites including Vitacost’s own website; although the positive ones are much more prevalent in their own website. If these links weren’t included by Vitacost in my review, at least you can find them yourself. The good reviews, well mine were in the past and should be disregarded on these and all other sites as Vitacost is not what it used to be.

    I, along with droves of previously loyal Vitacost customers have become extraordinarily exhausted and infuriated over the endless problems and time to unsatisfactorily and sometimes (hit or miss) satisfactorily resolve issues that shouldn't have been a problem to begin with, and expecting Vitacost to be what they were just a mere few years ago.

    Evidently, Vitacost is under new ownership, Kroger, I read causing customers including me who have poured tons of their/my hard earned money into waiting a week or longer to receive desperately needed orders while repeatedly checking on the status of each order then after finally receiving each order (not always receiving it or it being piecemealed into multiple deliveries per order increasing the likelihood of damage; although piecemealing may have been due to shipping costs) just to find out the wrong items were sent, missing, crushed or damaged. Additionally, if you need to do an even exchange, I repeat EVEN EXCHANGE, Vitacost will not honor this as they previously did; the original brand and Vitacost discounts I relied upon for the original item will not be honored for an exchange, only a lousy 10% off offered for another purchase of the item I really need of the same monetary value.

    Adding insult to injury, Vitacost dropped a number of products I relied on without notification (recently seems to have changed) causing me to panic and spend time finding another source and/or researching to find a suitable substitute. Perhaps some no-longer-offered products are due to providers, yet I can find a number of products through the manufacturer and other resources in a number of instances. Also, some products don’t display on my saved list or some just simply disappeared. At one time, I was told to use a different browser - not acceptable. It’s not difficult to write code to include all browsers. I’ve repeatedly had to give them software programming lessons.

    I've also had countless website issues after spending huge amounts of time to complete then place my order to find that the advertised discount wasn't honored or it's not being honored wasn’t disclosed at the time of purchase, the full amount wasn't disclosed prior to completion, items were suddenly out of stock after my purchase with no opportunity to choose a substitute yet the out-of-stock items showed up just after my purchase as in stock, the order was sent to the wrong address then waited for customer service on endless chats and phone calls and never resolved it ever within five or ten minutes if at all, but always taking an inordinate amount of time and energy many times repeatedly after losing connections, chats timing out, no response, no website feedback, etc.

    Commonly, needed items are almost continually out of stock and you can expect this during a good sale even post COVID peak while other items force a minimum driving my final costs out of reach. In other words, you can’t just buy one; you have to buy twice as many as you need so if you need yellow and brown mustard, expect to be forced to buy four total, same with dishwashing liquid - instead of over $4 each, you can expect to pay over $8 just for dishwashing liquid, even $7 and $8 boxes of cereal that are rarely in stock. This makes no sense. You can also watch the prices in the cart you've been working on go up before you've placed your final order, and there have been a plethora of website issues the past year or so. Some of which I’ve previously included in this review.

    These problems have become a pattern with Vitacost. They really need to change the name as they are not honoring what Vitacost was and have not been in business for 25 years with the same management. In fact, it should be a law that the name be changed once a company changes hands or at least obviously disclosed and all past reviews deleted since they no longer apply as the philosophy and ethics are almost always disregarded and the reputation that took years to establish is obliterated. It certainly has been in this case. **

    I’ve been doing business with Vitacost for many years now and am sad to report that I may not be doing so for much longer. I made a one time, routine request for my 2022 invoices from the company two weeks ago to validate medical expenses for accounting purposes. I was unable to use online order information as my orders need to be shipped to another address, and so my name, address and billing information do not appear on the orders as they appear online. I have corrected this for 2023 and explained as much to customer service.

    It took several calls to receive about half of my invoices, after which time the invoices simply stopped coming, with no explanation. For the record, I had no such problem with other supplement companies (Swanson, IHerb or Life Extension) who supplied what I needed right away. When I called Vitacost a fourth time and explained to a customer service associate that I was still waiting for eight invoices, she asked for the remaining order numbers and dates which I provided. I was assured I would receive the invoices in 24-48 hours. I didn’t. And so, I contacted customer service a fifth time, and asked to speak to a customer service supervisor. I was connected to Crystal who said that invoice copies might take as long as 72 hours. I said I would wait, then, and recontact customer service if I did not get the invoices. I did not get the invoices.

    I contacted customer service one final time and attempted to reach Crystal to see if, at very least, I could get some explanation for the missing invoices. I was told that Crystal was on a call with another customer and would return my call within an hour. I did not receive a return call. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever been treated this badly by any customer service department anywhere. This is especially puzzling in light of the fact that I’ve spent a lot of money at Vitacost over the years. I’m swearing off this company, and I suggest that you heed my warning and do the same.

    I placed an order for protein bars, and my browser extension automatically added a promo code. The order went through, and I received a confirmation email. I checked the website over the next two weeks, and the order was listed as placed and the status was "Not yet shipped." I then chatted with a representative on the site asking when it would ship, and they said the order was cancelled and I should have received an email about it. (I never received an email, and the site still showed the order as placed.) I asked why it was cancelled, and they said there was a "problem" with the promo code, so they cancelled the order. It does appear they did not charge my credit card, but the fact remains that they accepted the order with the valid code, but then just changed their mind after accepting it and cancelled it without telling me. Really bad experience, and I will never use them again.

    I ordered a protein shake box with a discount that was advertised on their website. The discount was amazing, and I was happy about it, but when they realized that it was too big of a discount, they canceled my order without even letting me know when I called him after a week they said yes we can see that the order was canceled and when I asked for the reason, they said it doesn’t show with the reason is. This is a company that does not stand by their word. The coupon was something they advertised and I feel like they just did that so they can get my email and tell me promotional emails which they have not stopped doing since I submitted the order.     I will agree with some other reviewers. Customer Service & the business model have dropped terribly. I have been a customer for several years but no longer. They shipped out the wrong item and would not send out the correct item. Instead, refunded me the amount. However, now I have to spend over a certain amount when I do not need anything else in order to get free shipping. The 2 women I spoke to did not care whatsoever. So cold. That is NOT customer service. I am currently shopping at iHerb.com and will do so unless they begin to change too. Such a shame, Vitacost. Never again.

    It has been three weeks since I made my order. I have been a customer for more than 10 years and have noticed a huge downturn in customer service in the last two months. I typed in the mailing form by hand, saved it and paid with PayPal. They sent it to the wrong address even though I filled out the address in by typing it in by hand. In addition, paypal has only my correct address on file. There were two addresses on my Vitacost account and I wanted to make sure they got the right one! They sent the package to a condo I sold a year ago in spite of having sent several packages to me for the last year at my new address.

    When I tried to replace the items online and then contacted customer service told me it would be shipped out the next day. It was not and I received no email that they had cancelled the order again. I had to call in four days later and when I tried to replace the order they said the system wouldn't let them. I personally think they didn't want to honor all the coupons and sale prices I had. But my biggest issue is when they cancelled the order they did not issue a refund immediately! What kind of company does that?? I should not have to call four days later to start the refund. Now I will have to wait 2-4 more days while Paypal issues a refund as I don't have the money to make a $60 order twice. Meanwhile I'm in severe pain from my neuropathy and the arthritis in my knees and hands because I'm out of all my supplements.

    Now I am beginning to question the quality of the Vitacost brand as well. If customer service has gone downhill (and overseas) this much then how long can it be before their products follow? I'll have to go back to Swanson which was always my second choice. Way to kill your business folks! I admit I should have dropped my old address but they should have been able to correct this quickly and ship out another order. At the very least they should have offered some huge coupon for all my pain and time to fix this issue. I'm really not sure I will order from this company again. Linda V

    Not a review of individual products but their horrible turnaround from order to delivery, and their horrible customer service. If you order a product today, you may get it 10-14 days later. This is a problem for someone like me who travels or doesn't order 2 weeks in advance. My last two experiences are ordering on day 1, receiving a email from them 3 days later "your order has shipped", not receiving the order within 5 business days, checking status of my order to find "a shipping label was prepared" but my order was not actually shipped. In one case I received order 10 days later, in another I called after 8 days after placing order and the rep said "it may be stuck in transit". I told her an order can not be "stuck" in transit if it was never "in" transit. Free and FAST shipping, total **!

    Worst site for customer service and a very poor running site. When I click the link to check the status of an order the link leads to the wrong shipping site. I've told them many times but it's never fixed. My last order was charged to my bank account but never arrived. I checked vitacost.com and found the items still in my basket but showing not purchased. There was nobody available to contact so I sent an email to them which they never replied to.     On 11/24/2022 I received an email for a "auto ship" of a product that I NEVER, EVER ordered and as I am allergic to NUTS, they sent ME NUTS. I called on 11/25/2022 at 9:21AM and waited 1 hour and 6 minutes before the criminal VITACOST rep answered. I mentioned I wanted to PERMANENTLY remove ALL of my personal information and CC info from VITACOST database, and REFUND THE FRAUDULENT charge.

    SUSAN said that they would deactivate my account and NOT PERMANENTLY remove my personal info. I repeated my DEMAND to remove this info, but criminals will be criminals and REFUSES to do so. SUSAN also said she, SUSAN did NOT reverse the FRAUDULENT charge and was shipping anyhow. SUSAN is a perfect example why I stopped using VITACOST over a year ago due to high prices, HORRIFIC CUSTOMER DISSERVICE, poor shipping and extremely LONG shipping times. I spent a total of 1:25, 1 HOUR and 25 MINUTES total before SUSAN hung up on me and THEN 3 minutes later she sent an email confirmation that the order has been sent, but the tracking said they still have the package. NEVER DO ANY BUSINESS WITH VITACOST!!!! CRIMINALS!!

    Vitacost shipped me (a long standing customer) a wrong item. I had got free shipping and a discount and I wanted a replacement not a refund. They want 3 weeks to resolve this issue as they wanted to investigate include photos of the wrong item; they refunded the purchase price but I would be losing money if I bought the same item again plus pay for shipping. I got the item for less money than their discounted price from Amazon Prime and I had it on my doorstep the next day. I will never shop with them again. Previously they would have replaced it with expedited shipping at no cost. In addition, their prices are no longer competitive.

    I read the company's reviews and I was afraid to order products from them, but I said I'd give them a chance because they had prices far below the market and I'm glad I did. Before ordering, I called customer service at the phone number they displayed on their page, after I followed all the steps, a representative customer answered me in about 2 minutes, I asked how long it would take for the products to be shipped and when I expect to receive them, she was very kind and gave me all the details and gave me a 20% discount code for the first order.     I've been a loyal customer of Vitacost for years, but I will no longer be purchasing from them. I stocked up on some supplements during a sale, and it backfired on me. I opened a Vitacost brand container, and the bottle was empty except for the cotton and silica gel packet. (I made a video while opening the bottle as it felt suspiciously light when I pulled it from my stash.) Vitacost won't do anything about it because my order was over 60 days old. Very disappointing.

    BBB Vitacost periodically sends out promotion codes by mail and quite often they don't work which means I have to either call or chat to resolve it. This past experience with Nicole was miserable. We finally got the one code to work but the one for free shipping would not take and she said she could not give me another code. I said the one sent does not work then she said we’ll go ahead and order and she would take the shipping price off. She assured me we would not be disconnected so I could give her the order number. She kept wanting to pass me along and told me to just call back with the order number to whoever answers because she will document it.

    By the way she never reached out to me by email or phone number after we were disconnected. She wanted to do as little as possible. I don’t know if it was just her lack of not wanting to do more or a reflection if Vitacost. Turns out my shipping “request” she said will now take 3-7 days!! I personally don’t like paying for something without an accurate price but I trusted her to follow through of which she didn’t and ended the session. I have all the transcript from both calls.     Have been a customer for 15 years. It's like they stepped off a cliff a few years ago. They used to have the most competitive prices. But their prices have literally more than doubled the last several years. Now I find better prices places like WalMart's site. They persistently have items out of stock. For months straight. Makes you wonder why, like if they're not paying their vendors. Been like that the last few years.

    Over the years, shopping there has saved me more than $10k. But with the way things seem to be falling apart, they might be going out of business. They initially opened as a private corporation. Then in 2009 they started being publicly traded. While they were publicly traded, I saw they were losing money. Then in 2014 they got acquired by The Kroger Co. So this might be one of those company acquiring another one, then screwing their operations so much to save money that it ends up making them lose all their customers.

    I have been shopping at Vitacost for more than 15 years and, until the last 2-3 years, would have given them 5 stars. There have been increasingly frustrating order deliveries (nothing to do with supply/demand). Deliveries are delivered to wrong addresses, left at the back of my apartment on parking lot/driveway in weather and easily stolen if someone was inclined. This is in spite of a large sign asking that deliveries be left at front door.

    Most of the Vitacost deliveries in my area are by OnTrac. FedEx and Amazon have never done this and I am a frequent online shopper. In addition, with more frequency, is leaving my Unit # off of the label (contributing to the delivery issues). I have chatted, called, emailed multiple times with Vitacost Customer Service. They are happy to send the order again or refund but I have been unable to get them to address the core issues. An example would be letting them know the Unit # was not on the label. They say they see it in their system so don't believe it is not there. At one point I took a picture of the label sans Unit # but they did not want to see it.

    My latest order (placed on 3/1/22) was within 20 miles of my home and sat there for 7 days then sent back to Vitacost. When I talked with a supervisor, there was no apology, no explanation, just offer of resending order in another 4-5 business days. The most frustrating is their unwillingness to address the basic reason for the delivery issues. I am now researching alternative sites to order from. I may not be their highest spending customer but I average $150 - $200 per month.

    I placed an order 10 days ago. I am a very long term customer of Vitacost. There was no disclaimer about shipping delays on the website when I placed my order...there still isn't. Apparently they put it on the app but not the web and I don't use the app. Anyway when I found out, they said the order could not be canceled because it was processing and would ship "soon". That was on the 17th. On the 21st talked to them again and was again told they can't cancel or do anything and it should ship any time.

    Today is day 10. I get told there are a lot of orders "stuck" in the warehouse. He has no idea when/if it will ship and again, refuses to cancel/refund. On Monday I was told when the actual charge went through and they shipped they would immediately refund. Well now it looks like it will never ship and I won't have access to my money for a month. That's how long a charge is held as "pending". So I have no money and no products while Vitacost has my money and their products.... There is something very very wrong here!

    I placed my Vitacost order on 02/07/22. The order came except for one item. Paperwork (from Vitacost) stated item will be shipped separately. On 02/15/22 I called customer service to check on my order. I waited about 45 mins to reach a person. The representative noticed that in his system it was showing that the entire order was not delivered. I checked on my account on Vitacost.com and noticed the same thing. We spent a fair amount of time on the phone trying to correct the problem. He let me know that the problem was resolved and I should receive my order shortly.

    On 02/21/22 I called again. I waited about a half hour to reach a rep. This time I was told that the order was cancelled. I asked what, when and why. I was told in a nut shell, '"Sorry I can't help you." I let this person know that online (Vitacost.com) and hard copy it states the order has not shipped. She stated she couldn't understand where I was getting my info from. At this point I asked to speak to a supervisor. She put me on hold and periodically checked if I was still there. After an hour I hung up frustrated. I have been a customer for several years and place at least 6-9 orders a year. I was shocked at the lack of professionalism.

    I put in for a refund or replacement after my package was delayed then marked as delivered when it wasn't. By the time my package really did arrive it arrived with damaged and frozen products. Vitacost hung up on me numerous times after waiting hours for chat or phone and I also emailed them. When I made a complaint to the BBB Vitacost kept answering, "Your refund is being processed," and they would send it to their management team and I would receive a refund in 72 hours. Well 72 hours has gone by and still NO refund or replacement by Vitacost. BBB then closed my complaint without a resolution to the problem. I will never do business with Vitacost again because this is how Vitacost uses their long time customers. It's Shameful!!!!

    I was offered a 20% discount. Because they screwed up my order they told me to cancel & redo the order. When I did that the 20% coupon was no longer available.     Vitacost has been wonderful for me. Their discounts are amazing. I've been shopping with them online for about three or four years now. I first started shopping with them purely because of the great prices. I have continued shopping with them because of their excellent customer service. Throughout the time I've used them I had two deliveries that I never received and their customer service department got back to me immediately. And worked out a satisfactory answer.

    I can’t say enough about their wanting to meet my needs. Even though their website says that due to the Pandemic orders are likely to be delayed at least three or four days, fact is that my orders always come in very quickly.     I have been buying food supplements from Vitacost.com for well over 15 years. However, I recently had a horrendous experience with Vitacost and with its parent company, Kroger. One supplement I normally buy is Jarrow Lactoferrin, 250 mg per capsule, 60 capsules. I went to purchase it a few weeks ago, and right beside its listing on vitacost's website was their own brand of lactoferrin. (They have house brands of many supplements under the name "Vitacost/Synergy". They usually sell for a few dollars less than national brands.) The label of the Synergy lactoferrin said 250 mg, 60 capsules, and it was almost $4 less than the Jarrow, so I ordered 10 bottle of it. When it arrived, I discovered that each capsule contains only 125 mg, and that TWO capsules are required per serving (to equal one capsule of the Jarrow). Thus, the actual cost for a 60 day supply at 250 mg per day was almost twice as much as the Jarrow!

    I phoned Vitacost and spoke with two customer service reps and a supervisor (all of whom were belligerent and rude). They told me that the Synergy product -- if I had taken the time to go 2 pages deep into the website and read the ingredients-- is 2 capsules per serving. I was told, "It is your fault," for ordering without reading the details. They would not accept a return, and they would not issue a refund.

    I learned that Kroger is the parent company, and phoned and left messages twice, and also sent two emails to the Vice President in charge of contact centers. His name is Jamie **. He didn't respond, but after the second email, I got a call from his assistant, who said that ** would not accept a return or a refund, but would credit my account $18 on my $146 purchase. This was completely unacceptable. I did a little investigation, and found the following:

    1) Most supplements give the dosage on the front label ONLY if they contain one ingredient and the dosage is PER CAPSULE.

    2) Supplements requiring multiple capsules per serving have only the number of capsules on the front label.

    3) Vitacost puts dosages on its front labels even when multiple capsules or tablets must be taken to achieve that dosage. This is not unique to the lactoferrin. They do it for many other products. In tiny letters after the number of milligrams, it says "per serving." However, the unwritten industry standard is one unit (capsule or tablet) per serving unless otherwise specified.

    4) Their products with the misleading labels are promoted on their website alongside the most popular national brands. This gives shoppers the impression that they are equivalent, though they decidedly are not. So shoppers like myself are deceived into purchasing a product that costs twice as much as the national brand. ACCORDING TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION, THIS CONSTITUTES FRAUD, because it is done for the company's financial gain from selling its own product.

    5) Vitacost no longer accepts returns, supposedly to protect their employees from Covid-19. I asked if the employees at their warehouses and shipping facilities are all vaccinated and wear gloves and masks. They would not answer. So apparently, the no-return policy ensures that defrauded customers do not get their money back.

    I have reported the issue to my credit card company, the Better Business Bureau, the FTC, and the Attorney General in Florida, where Vitacost is located. I am hoping that the charge will be removed from my credit card balance permanently. But I am writing this to warn other shoppers on vitacost.com: STAY AWAY FROM THE SYNERGY BRAND. In fact, I would advise shopping elsewhere, at companies that do not intentionally defraud their customers by misrepresenting their products in misleading labeling and product placement on their website.

    Bought two 10lb bags of protein and after checkout, I found not only a better price at AllStarHealth online, but I noted that they made my order for a flavor that I did not select!!! I noticed it within an hour and three times, on their terrible chat option, I tried to get a refund. They were nowhere close to shipping the product. They refused! They said I had to attempt the refund within 15 minutes!! Is that insane or what?AllStarHealth does not play those games. I 2 days later, they ship the product.

    I called management and a very RUDE lady kept talking over me and repeating their terrible policies - she lied and said that my refund request had to go before some review board.... nonsense. But in the same conversation, she stated, "I'm not going to authorize a refund." BUYERS BEWARE! There's too many other online vitamin retailers that will treat you better, ship free and not act like return trolls. Vitacost is the absolute WORST online retailer I have ever experienced and I urge everyone to avoid them at all costs.

    I have been happy Vitacost customer for over 10 yrs. This review is long overdue. Right before the pandemic I places 4 rather large orders for all kinds of items. Snacks, supplements, cleaning and paper products. All delivered in a timely manner. I knew there was gonna be shortages, lockdowns and wanted to make sure I was ahead of it. No problems whatsoever. I'm not sure what people are complaining about, I've moved 4 times (in the states of CA & OR) in 10 years and have always gotten my packages on time and in excellent conditions.

    Granted our mail carriers are usually excellent, and our weather is very good most days so Shipments dont have to brave snow, rain, extreme heat conditions. Vitacost prices and production are usually made at a high standard for such great price points but pls research your particular item. During the pandemic I didn't need to order anything from any company. Now in mid-2021 I am back to place new orders and my full confidence in Vitacost has not changed.

    Was a long time Vitacost customer - never again. My recent order was sent to the wrong address despite my updating my address book with my new address and deleting my old address. I was charged $31 and when I called to request a refund or replacement, I was rudely told it was my fault and they were going to do nothing. I was treated as if I was trying to defraud the company. Instead, I've been robbed of $31 by Vitacost. Good products pricing - horrible customer service. Never, ever again will I use this company and I will make sure everyone I can reach knows why.

    Recently, Vitacost one-sidedly changed my confirmed International Order and shipped just part of my ordered and pre-paid supplements at the full international shipping charge; one product which had been shown as available on Vitacost's website and had been accepted by their shopping cart system for ordering had apparently gone out of stock after my order had been confirmed. Two hours after placing my order, Vitacost notified me that one of the ordered products had been cancelled; within seven minutes of receiving this notification, I replied to Vitacost with my request to cancel my entire order. I was then informed that it was too late to cancel my order and that it had already been shipped. What use is such a notification, if the customer is not able to react or respond to it in any way?

    When an order is confirmed and has been charged in full to the customer's credit card, including a hefty shipping charge, the customer should be able to expect that ALL pre-paid items will be shipped at the specified international shipping charge, not just part of it. Shipping just part of an international order without reducing the shipping charge accordingly - or, more appropriately, even providing free shipping due to the experienced inconvenience and as an apology for the malfunction of Vitacost's order cart system, which is supposed to prevent ordering of out-of stock items in the first place - makes the entire business conduct appear unethical to say the least. After all, the cost of the supplements included in any international order is made up of the products' prices PLUS the shipping charge.

    They used to be a great company, but went sharply gone downhill. The customer service is HORRIBLE. I was sent 2 items for which I anticipated the most - incorrectly - and refused my offer to send photos, or to replace them. I have to fix their mistakes and go through the order process again. No offers for quick/free ship code, as I had bought extra things in my last order to qualify for free ship. Their website's chat function is broken too. I'm pretty much done with them.

    I ordered soap that arrived leaking and making a mess everywhere. When I reached out for a replacement, I was asked to send a photo, but could not as the item had already been thrown out into my building's garbage dumpster. Without a photo, customer service was unwilling to replace, grant a refund, or even a store credit. Yet, the photo requirement was not listed on the item page, receipt, or refund policy at the time of purchase. I notice that now the refund policy has been updated. Regardless, should only individuals with a smartphone or working phone cameras receive assistance? A bizarre policy that discriminates against the poor and the elderly. I won't be shopping here again and will gladly give my money to Amazon instead.

    I am not sure which planet are these people living on... HORRIBLE. I did not receive the product yet but I was just informed that the shipping time is three months (90 days). Which business would deal with these timelines? I will never buy again from Vitacost. There is something called honesty and you should try it when someone buys from you. Taking advantage of other businesses will not keep yours afloat.

    The Vitacost computer system changed my default address and sent my order to the wrong address. The company would take no responsibility for this error. They have seen the last of my business. A customer should have to change their default address themselves, the system should not do that automatically. This is ridiculous.

    I ordered 2 types of dog treats from VitaCost. Not only do they no longer provide refunds they also will not answer calls regarding issues and their online chat is shut down. There is NO customer service. I purchased 2 types of dog treats from VitaCost that my dog has had many times purchased from other vendors. However, with the VitaCost versions of the same product my dog had a deadly allergic reaction and almost died! I have advised VitaCost in writing and online with no response. Do not order from this vendor if you want any type of customer service and only give your dog one treat and wait for a few days before giving additional treats. They can be deadly!

    I ordered from Vitacost for years but they have changed. Orders don't deliver, Customer Service is terrible, if they even respond. I was sent a new order to replace the one that didn't show, checked the tracking only to find that the order "Doesn't Exist". Again, "Customer Service" doesn't even respond. Waiting months for my order, still nothing. Total rip-off. Decided to order through Amazon and got them in 2-days. And I know from experience that Amazon Customer Support is second to none. DONE WITH VITACOST.

    Vitacost uses Ontrac as a shipper. Ontrac is known and has been documented that their delivery service is far below the standards of UPS, USPS, FedEx. Ontrac is very slow and unreliable. The bad part is Vitacost uses such sub par services. Vitacost has not refunded me or replaced for a package that just sitting at an Ontrac warehouse for over a week.

    I ordered a very large shipment of vitamins on Nov. 24th. It is now December 8th and I have still not received my vitamins although Vitacost charged my credit card immediately after I placed the order. I waited on hold over 1 hour a few days ago to speak to customer service and after the agent checked the USPS tracking on the package, he advised me to wait two more days.

    I waited 4 more days, and still no package so I called back (another 1+ hour wait on hold) to ask what they would do to correct the problem. Instead of offering to replace the lost package, they told me to wait another two days for their customer service department to review my case and issue a refund. That's it. No replacement package, no apology, just a promise to refund the money. I will never buy another thing from this company. Something must have changed with their management team because they used to be very reliable. From here on I'll shop at Swanson's which has better prices and much better customer service.

    I don't know went wrong with this company. They have the worst service and customer service now. I placed an order on Nov 30 and now it is Dec 8 and still has not shipped. You cannot get ahold of anyone also. They don't answer the chat window or when you call it says it is over an hour to talk to someone. Avoid this company now.
