I have had these hearing aids since 11/20 and have had problems with both of them, just stop working, had them replaced, same issue and the android Bluetooth app never finds the left aid. Very disappointed.

I've worn hearing aids for the past 38 years, starting as a toddler. Widex has been tried and true. Run through a washing machine as a kid? Oops... no problem; dry it out, turn it on. Solid. Dropped a bunch as a kid? Oops; no problem. Switched to digital around 2003 and never looked back. I wore Oticons for a short 3 year stint as an adult, and they just can't compare. I'm now back to Widex Dreams (330) as of 2019. Unfortunately, the right hearing aid has failed repeatedly every 3-6 months, requiring warranty repairs. The left hearing aid is tried and true; never a single problem. However, the right aid begins to fail by compressing sound in loud environments despite the compression setting. It then snaps back into working properly.
Eventually, the right aid simply turns off without warning in loud environments, the returns on its own a few minutes later. I've sent this aid in for repair and rebuild (now starting my 4th attempt), and all have proven unsuccessful. Fresh batteries, clean filters, nightly cleaning. Widex is a fantastic brand (as evidenced by my left aid and all previous models I've worn, digital and analog, BTE and ITC). However, one star is docked because I cannot hear my children in the back seat while driving, and this creates a potentially dangerous distraction. I cannot continue in this fashion. I still have my previous models (antiquated digital technology) that are more reliable than this daggum right hearing aid.

Updated on 03/23/2021: Despite my providing Widex with the serial numbers of my hearing aids that they requested, and their indication that they would get back to me, there has been no follow-through. My hearing loss has caused me a great deal of stress, anxiety, and depression. I was encouraged by their initial reaction and was hopeful that some action would be taken. Thus far it has been very disappointing.
Updated on 03/03/2021: I was gratified at the initial response from Widex, asking me for information about the hearing aids and assuring me that they will investigate and get back to me. It’s been a while and there has been no follow-through. My confidence level in Widex is now tenuous. Perhaps this second posting will generate action. Hope so.
Original Review: Purchased top-of-the-line Widex hearing aids. Have never been satisfied with the operation. Sound quality poor, muffled - goes in and out, my own voice sounds like quacking. Automatic setups no difference. Very expensive and useless. No satisfaction from the manufacturer. Terrible customer service. Don’t waste your money..
Hi Arlene, we are sorry to hear of your experience. Can you please send us a private message with your full name, serial number and provider you are working with so we can investigate? Thank you.

The hearing aids work well to allow me to hear higher frequency sounds that are lost to me because of machine noise in the past. My GP had recommended I see an audiologist and be tested because of the hearing loss.

I am a hot air balloon pilot in Toronto and lost hearing due to burner noise. Widex was always better for sound quality and unique programs accessible on my cell phone. Worth the slightly higher price.

I struggled with the Bluetooth connectivity as I was experiencing extreme dropout of the signal. Also connectivity to my iPhone was and issue. After many software updates on both the hearing aides and also the iphone it appears that this issues have been resolved. I was very disappointed with the followup from the Widex organization.

I purchased the Widex Evoke rechargeable hearing aids. I have had random shrill beeping in my ear and my audiologist sent them in. I was told they were having an issue with the rechargeable batteries and would not be replacing those anymore yet I paid an extra $300 for that feature. However, even with regular batteries the hearing aids continue to beep randomly even after being sent back to widex for “fixing”. I’m sure this will keep up (sending back to “fix”) until my warranty is up and I have to shell out another $3000 for hearing aids. What a waste of money! I want a brand new pair at no cost or my money completely refunded, not widex to keep trying to fix them especially since rechargeable is what sold me.
Hi Amanda, we are sorry to hear of your experience. Can you please send us a private message with your serial number and provider name for investigation? Thanks.

Have had many problems with the right one cutting out. Sent out for repair. Finally replaced after failed attempts to fix. Now the left one just totally shut down. I will never buy another pair of Widex. Had Phonaks before and never had a problem. Audiologists recommended these.
Hi Diane, we are sorry to hear of your experience. Please send us your serial number, first and last name and name of your provider. We'd like to investigate. Thank you.

Within the warranty, one of the hearing aids stopped functioning. When sent in to be fixed, I was told the rechargeable feature of the hearing aid could no longer be repaired and that I would have to use regular batteries. I paid for the rechargeable feature and got a special charging case. I regard this as poor service and poor warranty service. I wrote a complaint to the Widex site and received no reply. Will not buy this brand again, but am stuck with my investment for several more years. Beware.
Hi David, can you please send us a private message with your serial number and name of clinic so we can investigate further? Thank you.

Purchased the latest/greatest Moment HA and was expecting an amazing experience all around. While I am pleased with my ability to now hear everything around me with great clarity under most conditions, I am less than pleased with poor streaming of music and podcasts to my HA. Unless my cell phone is less than 24 inches from my HA, audio fades in and out resulting in a terrible experience. My audiologist was able to return my original pair thinking that the antenna was defective. Received a new replacement pair today and there was no improvement. I contacted Widex technical support and was told they have heard from others with this problem and they are working on a software and firmware update. They could not say when the issue would be corrected. Needless to say I am very disappointed and may return the hearing aids and consider another company. For almost $7,500, I would expect better.
Hi Mark, thank you for sharing your experience and we understand the inconvenience. Fortunately in the coming month, we will have a firmware update to resolve that issue. A notification will come through the app to alert you when the free firmware update is ready to update your hearing aids. Thank you

WIDEX SUCKS!!!! At this time of uncertainty and closed businesses, they are hassling me to pay up. People are dying, businesses are closed, no money is coming in and these people sit around, get a paycheck and squeeze the little people for money. DISGRACEFUL! You should be ASHAMED of yourselves.
Hi Zvia, can you explain the situation more please? Much alike automobiles, we don't own the dealerships or set any pricing. Happy to help resolve your situation. Thank you

I have worn hearing aids for 25 years. Before my Widex I had Phonak. Because my tech was convinced that the Widex were better I bought a pair and gave my Phonak to my wife. In terms of hearing I do not find a noticeable difference between the two. BUT in terms of using my bluetooth to watch TV, my Phonak were far superior to the Widex. Unfortunately my wife refuses to give them back so I am stuck. At 85 I hope I don't have to buy anymore but if I do they will be Phonak instead of Widex. I would not recommend your product even though we have the best and most patient service provider ever in Chris Adams at Adams Hearing Aid Specialists, Clayton, GA.

I took the time to fill out their required info and zipcode for a free trial inclusive of my zipcode, they did send my inquiry to Harbor Audiology and they could not see me because I do not have health insurance (as stated for extra benefits) and because they require a hearing exam within 6 months of booking an appointment. I was unable to have a free trial. How can we try your product without spending a lot of unnecessary monies for your retailers? I am deaf and know I am deaf!!! This is unfair to me. What do you say here?

I am very happy with my improved hearing I’m experiencing from my Widex Evoke hearing aids. I use the TV Play device which streams directly to my hearing aids when watching television. Now everyone in the room can listen to the TV at normal volume and I can enjoy the program. I also like the fact that my cell phone stream to my hearing aids which has greatly improved my ability to hear callers. I hear conversations in crowded areas much better with my aids. Overall my hearing aids have improved the quality of my life. In addition, they are very comfortable and sometimes I forget to remove them before going to bed. My batteries last about a week.

I have had my Widex for a few years now. I have had the Bluetooth repaired and finally replaced a while back. I would wish for 2 things. Always on “party” rather than universal. The Bluetooth necklace to be about 2” shorter or better yet, part of the hearing aids themselves.

Beltone charged extra for what should have been standard features. My first brand was so bad I forgot their name. This is my third hearing aid and I can honestly say it has features I didn't even realize were useful let alone an option because of my previous hearing aids. I encourage ANYONE who has had a poor experience or less than amazing hearing aid to try Widex brand hearing aids. They are a life changing experience. (Because of mine a man in another state now has hearing aids because he never realized how much he could benefit from them until I shared my video that morning.)

My hearing aid stop working and had hard time to find nearby audiologist who will accept the Widex brands and finally found one who will take my hearing aid and shipped out to manufacturer. The other was asking for payment which I should not to pay because it was under the warranty and I could not shipped out directly. It had to be done by audiologist? It was fixed by manufacturer and one thing they did not fix it was the little plastic thing was broken and they did not replace it even I requested was willing to pay for it while it is in repair and now I have hard time to pull out my hearing aid. I gave 3 star only.

My Widex hearing aid has worked well. I've had to replace the wire extension, but besides that I have had no problems. I use my hearing aid to help me with my Tinnitus. I would be nice if you creating a hearing aid that could be worn to bed, because that is when the Tinnitus is the most difficult to deal with.

They're great. A huge upgrade from the garbage hearing aids I had before. Literally changed my life. They do screech occasionally if a bead of sweat or a raindrop hits them in the wrong place. And once every few months they'll screech for seemingly no reason. But then I just turn them off for a while and let them dry and they're fine again. The 'paint' on the side that touches my skin is flaking off, but that's superficial.

I am on my third set of Widex Aids and have had 4 other brands over my 94 years of living. My Widex with their Audibility Extender 2 lets me hear birds, a clock ticking, my home security unit beeping +++. They are easy to keep clean and the batteries last a week +. I would recommend them over other brands.

I have had my hearing aids since June 2018, at $6000.00 for both. They work as well as can be expected, sometimes too loud, sometimes just right. At times I cannot hear what my husband say when he is sitting right next to me. Last weekend, my right receiver went out, my audiologist replaced it. This morning when I put them on, the left hearing aid stopped working, of course this is the better ear, so without it, it is not good. My audiologist is closed until Monday, so I have to be without balanced hearing all weekend. I take good care if these, but for the money I’ve spent on these, it should not break within a week of each other at less than 2 years. How Can you help that this doesn’t happen again. I get quite a bit of feedback while wearing these and in a noisy situation I can hear nothing, even using the controls in the app. I’m just disappointed in the fact they have to be fixed again. I hope this isn’t a recurring thing.

I purchased my Widex Beyond hearing aids two years ago. I have had several problems with them and had to send my left one in for repair but fortunately it was still under warranty. Now my right one does not work and I was told by my audiologist that the microphone is not working and it will have to be sent in for repair at a cost of $250! I paid $2,500 for these just two years ago and now have to pay $250. In addition I had to pay $50 for cleaning (she just used a wet wipe to wipe them down) and $75 for a new receiver for a grand total of $390! I was told this is just the normal maintenance just like you would have for a car. Well I have friends that wear other brands of hearing aids and they tell me they have never had these issues. I am very disappointed in the performance of Widex Beyond!

I have been wearing hearing aids for twenty years. Seimens, Phonax and now Widex. I purchased the present Widex Evoke 330 aids in December of 2018 for $5,000. I have and nothing but trouble with them. I have rechargeable batteries and they just stop working. I've returned to the audiologist at least ten times. Today, she fixed them by changing the doors on both aids, this has happened before. I have had to send them away and wait for over a week for their return. I live 40 miles away from my audiologist. I cannot hear without the aids. When I sent them away last Fall, the said they completely rebuilt them and gave me an extended warranty. NOT GOOD ENOUGH! At this rate I'll need a lifetime warranty.

This is my second pair of Widex hearing aids. The first pair was purchased in November of 2015. Both broke down continuously. They were polite and told me they needed service. My local hearing aid office was helpful in providing a loaner and sent my broken hearing aid in so many times I lost count. I purchased a new pair in July of 2019. It is now 6 days into Jan of 2020. Currently the right one is just dead. No sound. I’ve done everything I can to clean and replace microphone and battery but to no avail. Once again I must make an appointment and send this 6 month old expensive hearing aid in for repair. My lesson is that this product has a very poor maintenance record and creates frequent interruptions with needing service. Just disappointed with the poor track record of constant need for service yet the sound is so real like. What to do!

I purchased top of the line rechargeable hearing aids in August 2019. Soon the left hearing aid and the charger failed. I had to return to the audiologist who sent them back to the company. After doing without for a few weeks, I returned to the audiologist a few days ago. The hearing aid now works but the repaired or replaced charger does not. As a cancer patient I find it very difficult to keep going back to the audiologist and then doing without the complete system. Online customer service was of no help.
Hi Fred, thank you for sharing your experience and sorry for the inconvenience with your charger. If you can send us a private message with your clinic's name we can contact them to see about shipping a new charger at no cost either to their office or directly to your home, if you prefer. Thank you

With the help of the Widex representative and an extension on my warranty we were able to come to a resolution. I also learned the majority of my problem was not with Widex but really with zpower. Since Widex sold me the zpower charging system unfortunately it became their responsibility. I have gained back confidence in the Widex product.

I purchased my Beyond 440 with rechargeable batteries and charger about two years ago. Every few months the batteries die, probably has happened five or six times. First I was told it was the charger, which they reprogrammed, did not help. Then they sent the hearing aid and charger back to Widex and it worked for a month or two. The last time they gave me a custom Widex dryer/ charger box. It worked for about two months and one battery just died. Now they are telling me it’s the humidity in Florida, yet there are millions of people in Florida that have hearing aids without this problem. I also feel the streaming of music is inconsistent. The audiologists, at my doctor’s office who sold me the hearing aid has gone out of her way to try and find a solution. I have one more year on the warranty. I feel that Widex should at least extend the warranty.
