Problem with Bluetooth connection. Not reliable. Batteries do not last. I was told batteries should last about a week. I go through on average, 3 pairs per week. I really wanted rechargeable but I was told they were unreliable. Aids have been sent in for repair 3X. Now they want to send them in again. They offer nothing for trade-in to an upgrade. I’ll be going somewhere else.

I've had these hearing aids 2 1/2 years and they've been sent back to the manufacturer at least six times. Now that they're out of warranty it costs me $800 every time I have them repaired. Looking at alternatives.

Had problems getting Oticon's phone and TV adapters to work. Customer Service is poor, not customer friendly, guarded, deceitful, inflexible, and gives inconsistent answers. Customer Service number is not listed in any of their equipment guides (tells you all you need to know), so I had to google to find their number. Option should provide troubleshooting guide in their instructions manual. Equipment may be good, but if you can’t get it to work after two calls and two hours time invested.... Oticon relies upon Customer Service as first line of defense to correct tech problems, reps skills set, expertise, and company longevity varies: None are great. Obvious by their fumbling, research timeouts, and questioning. Had no degree of confidence that they could resolve my problems.
Only able to speak to a true tech specialist one time in spite of numerous requests. My one experience was good. Management needs to radically change their corporate mindset about customer service and tech support. Start with clean sheet of paper. Oticon can improve, if they want. I get better customer service from my cable company.

I got these Oticon Nera2 Pro in Feb. 2017 from Avada now Hearing Life. The hearing quality is good, but the hearing aid's volume controls malfunction and the hearing aids have been replaced repeatedly. They have improved the volume controls, but they only send me the bad design ones. Now, the warranty just expired and I have to wait two years to get new haring aids with insurance. How can they send me hearing aids with a design problem beats me. I have worn other brands of hearing aids for years and never had this kind of problem.

This is my second set of Oticon OPN hearing aids. The first set worked beautifully, so purchased another set when I needed new ones. These have been sent back 2 times, and no one can figure out why they turn off when they feel like it, and then turn back on within 5 seconds or so. Told to turn off my Bluetooth! They are supposed to work with Bluetooth. That’s one of the reasons I bought them. $6,000. They do not fit my ears well either, so they put this plastic piece on to hold them in my ears. Next larger domes came off inside my ears. Most uncomfortable. Very frustrated. Not sure what I will do from here.

I got these from an Aunt that passed away so I was not the original purchaser. To get them fitted and adjusted, not many audiologists around here that work with this brand, I had to travel 45 minutes to get there and it cost $3000. I put them in the cleaner every night and have rechargeable batteries. The wire keeps disconnecting and the cleaner makes the cups clog (aren't they supposed to clean them?). I have had to travel back at least 5 times in that first year and each time it cost an office visit (another $60). Should have gotten cheaper ones and kept all that other cash.

Due to family complaints about my hearing, I purchased these hearing aids to satisfy them. The aids have held up well, and that's the only thing good about them. All they do is make everything louder and with poor quality sound. I hate them. At home, I use, instead, Sony wireless headphones on my TVs, synthesizer, and my PlayStation 4. These headphones only cost about $ 70, and the fidelity is GREAT. I should have returned these hearing aids when I could have. My suggestion to you is DO NOT compromise what you want from your hearing aids!!!! I rarely wear them. I hate them!

I had to procure hearing aids for my father. I floated inquiry in India mart. I got a call from many suppliers, of which one was very competitive. But Mr. Hitesh **, DGM sales, Oticon got in touch with me through another dealer and said that the other one who is offering least price is unauthorized and I should procure it from the supplier recommended by him. I ended up buying it at a higher price. Now, when I got to know that Mr. Hitesh was telling lies and the other supplier is authentic and I asked Oticon to help me get the device returned to the supplier, they are hiding and not attending calls. They are clearly at fault. If anyone of you want to save your hard earned money, please call me on **, I will help you get in touch with the genuine supplier. I do have every details and proofs of what I have quoted here.

It is very expensive. I paid over 7500 CAD for these in January 2019, almost 8k CAD with ZPower rechargeable kit. Since then I had:
2 - Lots of Bluetooth connection problems. For whichever reason the phones might randomly not connect to Bluetooth, so it will not stream or will not be able to be managed via phone APP. Shitty both in Android and iPhone.
3 - One of the hearing aids stopped working randomly in December, so not even a full year of usage. It cannot finish the booting cycle (the song) and then it keeps going on and off, which creates an irritating white noise. I am as of now using one year only and the world feels weird.
4 - Not loud enough when streaming phone calls on them. Cannot pick up those calls on loud places.
All in all, for my first experience with hearing aids I am beyond unimpressed. Expensive, bad quality (who wants to be reminded all the time of their deafness with those bugs?) and inconvenient (who wants to be troubled by multiple last-minute visits to the audiologist?).

Three times in 2 years I had to traipse to the audiologist to send them back for replacement. Traipse again to pick up. Repeat and then Repeat. The fourth time I was told it was the humidity. A dryer kit was recommended. Not the issue and another waste of money. Different brands of batteries did not make a difference. Why a fresh battery lasts for 2 hours? It will give me great pleasure to smash them both with a hammer and send them back. Would not recommend this brand to anyone.

I have had them for two years and initially they were great. Comfortable. Hearing was quite clear although they would not increase volume. My old clunkers went through a battery a week. The new Oticon uses 2 each week. They have a little white filter that must be replaced when plugged. Initially this was every few weeks but over time they could stop working after a day. I keep my ears very clean. Washing and with Q tips. As a snowbird I spend 6 months in Mexico. After a month I had to give up on the new Oticons and go back to the 7 year old ones. Old but reliable. My hearing clinic wouldn't supply the filters or batteries based on actual usage so I must wait till I go back to Canada to get parts. Not happy.

I went to a wonderful audiologist in DC in 2014 and she prescribed two Oticon Opn miniRITE Z power hearing aids. Within a month I started having trouble with one and sometimes the other or both not charging properly or not holding a charge. At great inconvenience to me I had to go back to the doctor's office multiple times to drop off and then pick up replacement batteries, replacement charging dock, and even the hearing aids themselves. When they work they do a good job (nothing to compare them to) but they have never held a charge longer than 8 hours at best and that is not long enough! I know that they now make a different product with a different battery that supposedly stays charged longer because they recognize and acknowledge the flaws in their older model.
Mine are still under warranty (which, by the way, was extended by them from 3-4 years because of the trouble users were having with this defective design). They refuse to exchange them for new ones despite my many exchanges and patience with these frustrating aids. Instead, they sent me a new charger, new battery doors, and new rechargeable batteries. Believe me--when it is time to buy my next pair I will not even consider Oticon! Their customer service is NO GOOD. THEY DON'T CARE about the customer and will not do the right and reasonable thing of standing behind their product and their warranty. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I have had the same hearing aids for almost two years. Several times I have jumped in the shower with them in, and a couple of times my right one got pretty wet. So I scramble to get out of the shower, then I pulled out the batteries, grabbed my blow dryer and on warm I dry out the hearing aids. Then the SCARE, do they still work. Well I'm wearing them now LOL. I wear mine sometimes 24+ hours due to my sleeping patterns, and I'm surprisingly happy with the battery life, for as many hours that I wear them.
Now with the Oticon App, and the difference between the Android App and the Apple IOS. If you have an Apple iPhone, you can use the iPhone for phone calls without having to purchase a little/big obnoxious black box to clip to your shirt for $200. I don't know about the IOS App, but I do know my android Oticon Event log will show, let's say that I connect at 7AM, it will show, "Hearing Aid Connected" 2, 3, 4 times. It also loses connection, and when I open the Oticon App, it has to connect/reconnect which skews the Event log as well as the screen that shows you how many hours for the, Day, Week, and month. So you have no idea, well you just don't. I wrote a review on the Google Play Store, which was pointless, since I saw no replies from the programmers. I did email the contact listed a few months ago, stating what I have said here. Obviously fell on deaf ears.

I am a professional Spanish interpreter; hearing is crucial. My audiologist recommended them because of her experience with them and the fact that I can link my iPhone to them through bluetooth. I have had them for nearly two years with no problems. The difference in hearing is amazing. The first several days I walked around with my mouth open at the things I could hear. There is a lot of sound out there.
Bluetooth connectivity is a very useful tool. With an app on my phone, I can adjust the volume level up and down and turn them off when necessary depending on conditions. The app is a bit slow to make the connection, 30-45 seconds, but I recommend using it. There is an iPhone setting that allows music from the phone to play through the OPN 2's I didn't like it because because at my setting, the hearing aids emphasize high pitched sounds. That resulted in tinny sounding music. The results are much better when music comes through speakers or a good sound system.
They are easy to use and care for. Routine hygiene and an occasional wiping is about all they require. Every three months or so I replace the domes and wax guards. Early models had reliability issues according to reviews that I've read. I've had none in two years. They work as advertised. Battery life is good. With batteries supplied by my audiologist and Amazon Basics, I get about 4 days. I recently started using Rayovac batteries and am getting 6-7 days. If appearance is a concern, my friends did not know that I was using hearing aids until I showed them. Based on my experience with the OPN 2's, they are a fine choice. I would suggest looking to see if you can get them through some state assistance program such as workers comp. The discount may be huge even if you have an out of pocket.

For a $5500 purchase it just gives me fits, just fine talking one or two to one but any crowd is tough and a noisy background like restaurants or bars forget it. Now let's talk about bluetooth or lack thereof, spotty to say the least loses connection a lot and on restart you may have to do it many times before it finally works. I live in a hot environment with a lot of ceiling fans and a/c noise. There has to be a better choice.

So here's my Oticon hearing aid review, after approximately six months of use: Price: Over $7500. Technical dependability: Very Poor. I've been back and forth to the audiologist's office repeatedly over the last six months trying to get technical problems fixed. First they dropped their Bluetooth connectivity. Then the rechargeable batteries failed to hold a charge. Shortly after the batteries were replaced, the left hearing aid just went completely belly up. After that, the manufacturer replaced both hearing aids with a new "upgraded" version. Those functioned for a couple of months, until the speaker in the left one failed. Just got that replaced last week. It's not like I've test driven a bunch of OTHER hearing aids, of course, but I am inclined to say that Oticon's quality is just unacceptable.
Suitability to Purpose: Even when they're working, they don't really work: Manufacturer's and provider's claims to the contrary notwithstanding, all these devices seem to do is make my world louder; they do nothing to make it clearer. I could have got louder from a $29.95 as-seen-on-TV pocket amplifier. I am not a happy camper.

I have a pair of Oticon Opn1 miniRITE. I have been using them for just over a year, they are not as good as Oticon's very slick advertising claims them to be, they are a good sound amplifier but not much else. As for picking out voices in a room full of people is nonsense. There should be some kind of official body to fully test their claims before they are allowed to make them. When you are spending nearly £3,500 on a couple of these aids you want to be sure the company claims are correct.

I get my hearing aids through the VA. I had been getting Phonak for the past few years but the last time they gave me Oticon. Possibly because they were cheaper. They have been returned for repairs at least three times in the past year. One of the times one of them sounded like it had a cracked speaker. When they came back the problem hadn't been fixed. Then the Bluetooth stopped working so they went back to the VA for repairs. When I got them back I was told they had been replaced. The connect clip would only connect to one ear. Fortunately the VA had another on hand that would connect to both ears.
I went home thinking they will finally work. Unfortunately, while the connect clip will control both aids it will only connect the Bluetooth to one of them. I really wish the VA had a contract with Costco because theirs work great. That's where my wife bought hers. So they'll go back to the VA and hopefully they can find someone to fix them. If I had a choice Oticon would NOT be what I would choose. And I would not recommend them to anyone. I have been wearing hearing aids for well over 20 years and these are the worst I have ever had.

I’ve had my hearing aid since January 2019 and it has never worked properly. It continually disconnects and I have to change the batteries every two days. It was sent back to the manufacture by the VA who allegedly rebuilt them with no noticeable improvement. My contact at the VA thought the problem may be moisture and has provided two different mechanisms to keep them dry but these have afforded no change. I would strongly suggest not purchasing this product.

I bought two new hearing aids from Hearing Life and they were Oticon OPN S1. Over $7000 and within 60 days I had to send in one of them to repair. I was told it might be two weeks before I get it back. I think a product that goes out that quick should be replaced with new. I wish I would have know about the lack of quality so I could have bought something more reliable. Next time I will check with Consumer Reports before I buy Oticon. Not a satisfied customer.

These wildly expensive things began well, but, in time--a rather short time--I began to have trouble. Inexplicably they would suddenly shut down, usually one at a time. So began regular visits to my audiologists, first in Washington, DC, where I was working and, now in Connecticut here I live. They are returned for repairs, and once they have come back, for awhile, but in no more than four months, they go off again. I assumed, of course, that I was doing something wrong.
Costing as much as they do surely they ought to be working better and more dependably. My doctor here has kept with me, trying her best. Lately she said that moisture might be building up and suggested I buy a product that would decrease the possibility. It seemed to do so, and yet, once more, one of the two with brand new batteries, died within minutes of connection. I went to my GP who checked my ears for wax, and found almost none. I am at my wit's end. I am ready to junk them, swallow the cost and look elsewhere, but not before I have contacted the Better Business Bureau. Sometime, somehow, Oticon has to assume responsibility to its customers.
Original: At first, I thought them marvelous, though expensive. That was at first. Very soon they started being temperamental: one or both would simply cease to function. Then they would be fine for while, but only for while. Both after only a year or two had to be sent back for repairs--repairs that did not last long. The biggest problem is that, while on the phone--the reason that I bought these devilishly expensive items--one of them just drops off. I am left with only one ear functioning. I write this now from the UK where I do some teaching each year. I a scarcely can use my iPhone because the right side hearing aide just drops away. In the midst of the call I have to remove the aide, restart it, talk for about thirty second more when it departs again. Is ii and wonder I feel I have been sold a bill of goods?

I have had these now for a little over two months. My previous hearing aids were Starkey, which were good, but after 5 years, my hearing had changed, and my VA audiologist said I was due for new aids. What others have said here is consistent with my experience, as to the sound. My own voice booms in my ears. My breathing sounds like Darth Vader. I often have to ask people to repeat, or to spell a word. Especially when there is more than one person speaking, or in rooms full of people, I’m lost. I strain, cup my ears with my hands, try to adjust the volume, and get perhaps 20% of what is said.
The Bluetooth feature is good, but not as good as my Apple earphones. I can’t get “Live Listen” to work. And even after my audiologist has made two adjustments, the devices don’t sit as comfortably in my ears —or as securely— as my old aids did. The left aid battery stopped working, and the new one takes longer to charge than the right one. I am an early riser, and it’s always still charging when the right one is charged, and sometimes gives out around 5:30 p.m. My VA audiologist is just great, really dedicated, and it’s still a work in progress, but It’s been disappointing.

I have had my Oticon OPNs for almost 3 years now and other than a vibration noise which ended up being caused by my glasses vibrating against the case, I have had no problems. I realize how poor my hearing is when I pop them out! I'm getting 4 to 5 days out of a set of batteries and months out of a set of wax filters. It has made talking in social groups MUCH less stressful - I no longer have to watch people's lips and concentrate to understand what is being said, and I find they handle background noise VERY well, contrary to what several others have reported.
The one disappointment is they never came up with the app to connect to non-Apple phones. The Bluetooth WAS handy when I lost my hearing aids and was able to prove they were both IN my pickup truck and I found them under the seat - not in the trailer full of old shingles I had just torn off the roof. It was a hard pill to swallow that the pair of hearing aids was worth more than BOTH vehicles in my driveway - and now I can hear all the squeaks and rattles they make.

Only had two weeks and working great. My biggest issue is the tools provided to change out the filters. They are very small and once you have taken out the used filter, you cannot tell what is the new one. I have put the old one back in thinking it was the new one when in fact it was not. You need complete uninterrupted time to stay focused on what you are doing with zero distractions to get them back in place correctly. The little black piece holding the filter is very small and hard to hold especially if you have arthritis or can't see very well. I much prefer the orange stick from Starkey for changing filters as it is much easier to direct and much easier to tell which end is which has the used one versus the new one.

So far these hearing aids, Oticon Opn 2, are great. Love the Bluetooth technology and syncing up to my iPhone easy easy. Audible clarity is outstanding once properly adjusted by the audiologist. At issue though, is the rechargeable option. The batteries do last almost 19 hours a charge, however, in this day and age when a cellphone takes less than an hour to charge, it takes 4 plus hours to recharge these, time that some of us don’t have. Moreover, you cannot find replacement batteries anywhere except certain audiologists. The charger itself should come with a cover to protect the charging contractors when the charger is not in use. Moreover, the charger itself should be able to not only charge the hearing aids, but should also be capable of charging spare batteries as well, which is the option these days for most chargers.

My 14 year old son has moderate hearing loss in both ears and has worn hearing aids since he was 1 month old. In all of the years that he’s had hearing aids, we’ve NEVER experienced a pair as AWFUL as these! He has had this pair for about 2 years now and we’ve had to get them repaired and replaced well over 10-15 times. That’s a lot for a teenager to have his hearing aid go out on him in class or anytime at all. Like I’ve said BOTH have even been replaced because they were under warranty, however the replacements were just as bad! My poor son doesn’t even wear them to play sports because he was told by the audiologist that “this could be happening because of sweat” so he’s afraid to get them moist. When in all actuality that is probably one of the most important times that he should be wearing them so he can hear his coach, other teammates and opponents.
Now one of the hearing aids doesn’t even connect to the Oticon system at the audiologist’s office for her to have the ability to run tests on it or change the volume etc. Of course now it’s too late to get them repaired or replaced without charge because the warranty is up. This was so disappointing, especially with how much these cost us, thousands of dollars! We were told they were “top of the line”??? My son has always been athletic and sweaty and we’ve never had issues like this with his pediatric Phonak hearing aids. But he’s a teen now and has different needs. I’m hoping to find a better option for him ASAP!

I have been wearing hearing aids for over 25 years. Before my current pair of Oticon, I used the premium aids from Widex. In my experience, if you keep them clean, handle them with care, have an audiologist who cares and explains how to use them correctly, you will be very happy with them. I can actually hear well now! The Oticons are by far the best I have ever owned. If you are patient, can understand directions, have a warranty, you are good. I have always used disposable batteries. I do not recommend rechargeables due to all the negative reviews. Every year or 2 years you will have to replace the receiver. If you have an iPhone you will be in hearing aid heaven.

I've noticed many of the reviews reference battery problems, especially rechargeables. I use disposable batteries, and they are fine. I change them once a week. Other complaints were problems regarding the warranties bought from the re-seller -- again, not a problem with the hearing aids themselves. I'm just saying... I have moderate to severe hearing loss in both ears. Without hearing aids, I can't communicate well in noisy environments, and even in relatively quiet ones, often have to ask folks to repeat themselves.
I have a pair of the Oticon Ria 2 aids, purchased from a reputable audiologist (Au.D., CCC-A) who was recommended by my E.N.T. doctor. The hearing aids cost less than $2,000 for the pair. I've never had a problem with them. The yearly maintenance is a bit pricey, but that was my choice by not purchasing the "bundled" maintenance. I change the domes and the wax guards on the first of each month -- never had any difficulty with them. I've had these instruments for almost 2 years and wear them daily.

Updated on 10/02/2019: I gave a review back in Dec. of last year and here is an update. Both hearing aids failed and were sent back, received a new pair and worked great for a while. Then the receiver on the left one failed, got it back quick with no charge. The right one failed about two months later. King Hearing Aids said it was because of wax. When I sent it back I left the mini filter out when I sent it in as I had tried several new ones and still would not work. Note back said it was wax and I should always use a filter, what an insult. In ten year I have never put a aid in my ear without a filter. Wonder how long they will last this time.
Original Review: The little filters are a pain to replace as they are so small. Seem to plug up easy. Sometimes when I replace a battery the aid stops working. Gave up and went back to my old hearing aids. $5,200.00 down the drain.

I am lucky that the audiologist has replaced, free of charge, all of the defective batteries but it is a pain in the neck to have to keep returning them. The hearing aid works ok. I bought the option of the rechargeable batteries and in the first few weeks the unit did not work. Brought it back to the provider and was told they were recalled. No notice was sent out. Got the unit back and less than a year the batteries would not hold a charge. The provider charges $50.00 for replacement batteries. I contact the company to confirm the price which they would not do. No other rechargeable battery will work and their battery is not available on the internet. I feel I made two mistakes - first dealing with a company with poor customer service and second buying the rechargeable battery option.

Received these from VA. Had Starkey before and they were fine but they wouldn't service or guarantee them after 4 years. Oticon through VA was, of course, free. They didn't offer any other options. The ear molds are hard plastic, not soft, so they irritate your ear canal to the point you want to leave them out. My left ear had debris taken out by nurses twice. Clumps of what I assume was skin, the size of a small lima bean. Also got otitis media from them. One went dead and I'll have to go back and wait a month for the repair. I'll also get the rubber domes instead of the ear molds. The wax guards tend to pop out easily and once they get wax in the canal, they slide out faster than you can push them in. Poor design.

As the other folks had said my left hearing aid lasts about 2 weeks and then the left one goes out. I use batteries and they eat batteries about every 5 days or less. Went back to the dealer and they will fix them but will not exchange them for the brand I initially went in for which was Starkey. Had them (Starkey) before and was sold on the idea that they were a better brand than Starkey, shame on me for buying junk. Oticon is made in Switzerland and they do not stand behind their product other than the warranty they give you, and you're on your own after that unless you buy extended warranty for the seller here in Canton, Ohio. Then they only cover minor repairs. I wanted to trade them off for Starkey and they said I was past the 90 day return policy.
Walk away from Oticon if they want you to buy them, they are NOT a better hearing aid. In fact I bet these will only last about 5 years or less. I have them back in again 3rd time in 4 months to fix the problem and to be honest unless the factory replaces it for free I am stuck with a piece on junk... Kind of like the YOGO (car) of hearing aids. I live in Canton, Ohio. BEWARE OF OTICON HEARING AIDS, THEY'RE JUNK!

She apparently was not aware of all of the problems they have been having with their app until it happened on her phone as well. If he loses Wi-Fi service on iPhone, he loses the hearing aids as well. This happens often at very inopportune times. Additionally, they will not stay charged. They have been sent back once already, and are supposedly okay now. The rechargeable batteries have been replaced, but still the best he can get out of them is 4 hours to 6 hours. We are retired, live on a fixed income, and insurance contributes nothing towards their cost. As far as I am concerned this was $4500 down the drain!

I received my Oticon OPN 2 miniRite Digital hearing aids on 09/22/2017. The pair was priced at $5490.00, and financed through Wells Fargo. After 4 days, the left aid started cutting off in the middle of the afternoon. I would charge both aids from 7:30 pm until 7:00 am. I called the clinic and was told to bring them in for possible repair. It started working again properly for about 3 days. I was scheduled to bring them in on 10/03/2017. On 10/02/2017 the right aid cut off at 2:55 pm. At that point I decided to just return the set. On 10/05/2017 I returned the set to the Center for Audiology in Clarksville, Tn. The lady transferred payment back to Wells Fargo. I was told that I was responsible for a $250.00 fitting fee. I paid the $250.00 cash out of pocket to finalize the transaction, although I was told Wells Fargo could bill me for it.
All of the personnel at the Center for Audiology were very professional, and this review in no way reflects badly on them. I firmly believe that Wells Fargo should refuse to finance this type device. It only results in money transferred back and forth. I am a disabled US Army retiree, and the primary care giver for my wife who is disabled from an auto accident, and suffers from severe dementia. I understand that the VA would provide hearing devices, but when I inquired I was told it would take 6 to 8 weeks to get them. I did schedule appointments, but had to cancel due to an ongoing sinus infection. I needed the devices right away, because when my wife needs something, if I am not right beside her, I had trouble hearing her. I inquired about the time to get them from the Center for Audiology, and was told about 1 week, so I proceeded with them, knowing I would be responsible for the cost. I feel that this brand is substandard and inferior.

Many people did not even know I wore them. Then, the Opn came out. The hearing aid's level of difficulty in adjusting to was worse than ANY I had ever worn since my first aids 35 years ago at age 35. Fortunately, the Alta came out with an upgrade, and I am back in the hearing excellence business. Quit spending time on Bluetooth fluff. Stick to just hearing -- what you do best. We live in the wilderness, and even without using Bluetooth, have to recharge my iPhone twice each day. Electronic gizmos do not impress me in the least. The audiologist (if that's what he was) there told me I was not given the correct information on how to use the aids and also changed my program and accessories.
Next time I needed assistance I called Dunellen and found out NO ONE WAS THERE EITHER... he left for another company. They said a temp would be in every other Saturday which did not work for me and directed me BACK to Watchung, NJ. That's when I met Jenny (who was wonderful) who helped but I was still having issues. Then she left to be closer to her home but is still with Total Hearing. They are lucky she remained, she is an asset to the company. Now my aids are turning off and chiming several times a day and no one is in the office, again, until they took Ryan from Westfield to be there twice a week. I was having terrible issues... returned and replaced left earpiece, then right earpiece started in... that was replaced... after many many visits they decided to replace the two units and they were reluctant to do it!!! I was told my "folder" had a VIRUS.
Meantime Ryan was nice enough to give me a temp replacement which was more like an amplifier but wore them until they had to be returned and loaned me another type of unit which were so much better but they had to be returned... finally the company, after going back and forth with Ryan for many months decided to replace my aids.
They are no better than the first loaner. AMPLIFY everything. According to the replacement model they were the same as my original but an upgrade. I had NO CHOICE but to settle. I checked price one day and saw they are $1000 which is less than I originally paid and was told they are worth $5000. I called Ryan and expressed my unhappiness and he said his hands are tied. He once gave me the name and number of an individual that oversees (I think) problems. I called and she promised to call me back within 24 hours that was couple months ago.
Now that I'm expressing my dissatisfaction once again she actually called me after all this time and wants me to be checked out by a licensed doctor an audiologist in Dunellen... WHY is my question??? And she wants to be present. I am totally disgusted and unhappy. She thinks this doctor is going to tell me if I can hear properly. I can hear just at the highest pitch that it hurts my ears and I'm always adjusting the aids and still saying "what" most of the time... resorting to lip reading.
Was also told I DID NOT see the Rio2 Pro for $1000. I'm so angry at myself for not being able to prove it. Now I'm a liar according to her! I know what I feel and hear now she appears and is going to TELL ME different!! Nice company! I DO NOT want to deal with Total Hearing any longer or Oticon for that matter since neither one was interested in my problem solving... just pushed aside... seems NO ONE had an answer. All I want now is a REFUND and was told that's not possible (a common phase with them).

I was thinking for the price ($6500) I would receive the best quality digital hearing aids known to man. I also expect the best electronics, which could be configured to take into account almost any noise I came across. I have moderate hearing loss that is associated with age (66). I can hear fine on my own but I found that in a noisy environment, like a restaurant or a bar, I had trouble hearing those around me and I'd wind up doing some lip reading, which I'm not good at.
With the UltraPro hearing aids, even after 6 visits with the audiologist, I simply can't use them in noisy environments. HVAC wind noise in a bar is amplified to the extent I can't hear anything else. Restaurant noise is almost as bad. Any modest environment like company at home, watching TV, talking with my wife, is great. No problems. However, away from home, riding in a truck, shopping in a mall, sometimes in grocery stores depending on how noisy it is or how loud the music is, the sound quality goes to zero. I can't hear myself talking so I don't know how loud I'm talking. I frequently have people ask me to repeat myself because I'm talking too softly. Needless to say, I'm quite disappointed in these hearing aids. I would not recommend them as I'm better off without them.

I am 30 years old, born with moderate to severe hearing loss. When I first wore this [Oticon Dynamo SP4 Super Power BTE] the quality was so poor that I questioned it why my 10 year old phonak sounds better than this even though it not working its full potential. To compare quality of those two hearing aids: My 10 year old phonak would be like listening through a tv with surround sound vs. a $3,500 pair of Oticon listening through speaker phone 5 feet away. THAT is the difference of quality of the sound I am hearing. But I gave the benefit of the doubt because it a different hearing aid. Soon as I drove off I started to dislike it even more. The hearing aids have a program that compress sounds when things gets "too loud" so it starts compressing the volume on and off when there is wind noise while I am trying to enjoy the music off from my car.
I also ordered a streamer to have blue-tooth so I decided to have a go with it. When I stream audio from my phone, it sound quite well, a lot better than I hear around me. So it really needs a better quality microphone to receive the sound better. I had the audiologist tried to mess around with it to reduce the volume compression but the program wont allow it. Would I recommend it? Nope, I was glad the old one was still functioning, wore it until I get ReSound hearing aids, hope it is better than this.

The Alta2 Pro. First the hearing aids are very expensive, over $6000.00. To have the hearing aids adjusted you MUST visit your audiologists, you cannot adjust them. These hearing aids fit in the ear using a flexible dome that comes in different sizes, so you not only need batteries you need the ear wax replacement filter and domes to keep them working. I cannot keep the hearing aid in the correct position to hear using these domes alone, so a stinger was added to try to keep them in place. I am constantly adjusting the position to hear normal conversation. They pick all noise louder than the voice sound. So if a fan is running the car it will drown out people speaking. The aids are very hard to fit in my ear. Once in, they are uncomfortable to wear. I wish I had the opportunity to consider other, more comfortable aids, but this was my only choice thru Medicaid. Consequence? I don't wear them very much. Just plays, or church.

I want to clarify my recent comments regarding the falling off of the upper part of the aid and the inside ear part of the aid. Now using only one aid I find that putting on and off sunglasses or pulling down a hat on one side can make the aid fall off. Being afraid to push the unit further into the ear can also leave the unit too loose and available to the likelihood of falling out. My problems may well be my fault. I asked for comments on better fitting models, but due to new view of problem, good performance, limited time used and cost will stay with OTICON. I am also 90 years old. Thanks.

Recently bought the 2 hearing aids. The right one either fell off the ear or out of the ear although pressed in tightly. Fell in the house, in the car which I recovered and out shopping which is a $2,000 loss. Buying another seems like another $2,000. loss. Anyone know of a better fitting model?

These are wonderful! I would recommend them to anyone who needs hearing aids. Sometimes I sleep in them because I forget they're in there! I'm only 57 and none of my friends can even see them! Love!!

I am a first time hearing aid user and have no previous experience with hearing aids. I was shown two different brands when in the market for hearing assistance. I chose the digital Acto Pro behind the ear aid with a Streamer (version 1) and custom molded ear piece. This set me back $2,700.00 initially at the audiologist's office. I have been wearing this in my right ear only and have experienced problems several times with the unit not powering up and dropping power. The first time this happened was within 9 months of original purchase and it was replaced free.
After one year, the new one continued to not power up and drop power. It has been returned to the manufacturer, but still has this issue. The streamer, the blue tooth companion to the Acto Pro, has a poor battery life and only the manufacturer of the unit has replacement lithium batteries for it for nearly the $275.00 US dollars that it cost me!
I have searched the internet for reviews about the Streamer (version 1) and many people have similarly poor battery life. It charges all night, but after one year the life sharply declines to about 3 hours. After 3 years the battery life is about 1 hour! It has now been almost five years and I need to purchase a new hearing aid. I am not going to purchase another Oticon unit and I will read the reviews before I purchase and will shop around for the best price and after purchase service.

Ear pieces come off in canal, speaker wires break, hard to get properly fit in ear canal all within 6 months of purchase. Creates a feeling of insecurity as to whether or not you will be able to hear. With the cost of approx. $5000 this should not be happening.

I am 65 and I have been wearing digital Oticon Hearing Aids for ten years. I started with one on my right ear and then got one for my left ear two years later. I have just replaced my hearing aids after ten years. The ten year old was losing power. The eight year old was working fine. I just wanted the new technology. I considered a big box store or online prices as being better but after careful consideration I have stayed with Oticon primarily because of the excellent service of my audiologist and the good follow up service of the company. I had both of my original aids reconditioned after about five years and they were just like new. The also cheerfully replaced one of my aids under warranty when I lost one of them. I am impressed with the new technology of my Nera Pro.

I purchased these aids approx 5 years ago. That after using two different Phonak sets for 15 years and miracle ear for about two. The miracle ear was a total waste of money. The first phonak set was not much better. The second Phonak set was much better. But when I got the Oticon wow what a difference. On a scale 1-10 would rate the second phonak at a 4 and the oticon at a 9. The only major problem with the oticon one speaker, or whatever it is called that goes in your ear failed. My tech replaced it with in 15 minutes. The other minor problem the fitting the wax guard goes in come loose. However my friend in Canada has had several problems with reliability the same aids.

My Oticon aids are almost 5 years old & have been worn the moment I awake until bedtime under all types of weather, heat etc as I work outside. They have been almost problem free, only in for repair once each. Each time had a loaner aid (not synced with the other one but newer technology), so now am going to purchase a new set. Will review after purchase.
