When working it works well on volume levels 1 & 2. Levels 3 & 4 get feedback noise. They are cleaned after every use. Spoke with Eargo many times not resolved so use them on level 2 only, which works well. Charger had to be returned and replaced The left device stopped working just out of warranty period. Paid a reduced price for a new one. Now the right device alerts low battery when it is fully charged. The device is clean. Waiting for a reply from company. When working they are fine. Devices have never been dropped or left dirty. They are too expensive to be this fragile.

I had a good experience with the Eargo rep who helped me. So far, the hearing aids that I got from them have been good.

I had Miracle-Ear, and when I happened to see one of Eargo's ads, I thought I would look into it. They give a link with a video to walk you through it and that was nice. They also had somebody call me and they talked to me a bit about things too. When I asked what the average life of it was, they said it was two years usually, and sometimes three. I was a little disappointed, but they said it depends on how they’re treated and how people take care of them, so I’m gonna see if I get three years out of them. I also gave them a try because they had a warranty and they said that they would take them back.
My ear gets a little itchy on the inside from the hearing aids, but it did that with the Miracle-Ear too. I also couldn’t stand to have the Miracle-Ear in my ear a lot of the time, but these are so comfortable. I’d put them in my ear, and if I’m in a noisy situation, I turn them down myself. I can adjust them with my phone or link them with my phone and that’s nice. So far, I’ve been very happy with them. In fact, I showed them to my brother-in-law because he’s looking for some, and he was gonna look into them too.

When I was doing a search online for hearing aids, Eargo was one of several that I looked at. I got the Max, which was $2,650. My hearing is definitely better with it. But it doesn’t handle high pitches very well. There are certain sounds- violin sounds, for example- that come across as screechy, and I don’t care for that.

My hearing was starting to get worse and I looked into hearing aids last year. I went through the test and the hearing aids then were very expensive. We had a lot of things going on in our home, so I didn’t do it. My wife has a lot of health issues and I don’t hear her. This year I decided, in order to help out with her, I decided I was gonna check out things again. I went to Google and looked up hearing aids. Lo and behold, I was told that one of the top hearing aids was Eargo. I checked in with it and it turns out that if I, an ex-federal employee, get Eargo, my insurance would pay for the whole thing. When you hear that and see the reviews that came out, Eargo becomes very interesting and exciting. It had a lot of the features I was looking for. I didn’t wanna have to use batteries and I wanted to be able to recharge it. I contacted them and they got back to me.
The staff that I dealt with have been absolutely wonderful. They have a terrific follow up and send you videos. They also do a phone call to make sure that you’re comfortable. Since then, I’ve gotten a couple of emails asking how things were going. I have the typical getting older hearing. I was primarily having problems with hearing things in the higher ranges, which was one of the things they said Eargo would be good for. Long story short, I tried it and I’ve been using it ever since. It’s still not perfect because when someone’s back is to me, hearing is a little bit harder, especially when the person talks in a soft voice. But it has been helpful and I’m able to hear my wife. I keep the TV lower and when I talk with people, I don’t have to always be saying, “What?” I expect that it will continue.

I bought Beltone hearing aids, and I was not very happy with it. So, I was in the market and when my son came to my house, he asked if ever heard from Eargo. I said no and he went online and ordered it for me. My hearing loss is not that hard, but I still need it. I’m all by myself and 80 years old. When I’m by myself, I usually don’t even put it on. But I put them on when I go out. It’s okay, but not great yet. I will keep them though. It’s easier than struggling with the Beltones and all the battery stuff.
I like that you can plug the Eargo in. I’m Lutheran and we have a service on Sundays over the internet now. I can really not get it loud enough so I can hear it. It may not be the hearing aid’s fault though. It's also still making a lot of noise when I put it in. I guess I just have to get used to them. Other than that, I think I can live with it. I’m very happy about their customer service. They are extremely helpful and very much on the ball. If I call and nobody’s there within 10 minutes, they call me back.

I lost my hearing a long time ago and I had a set of hearing aids that had gone bad. I couldn’t afford to replace them then I heard of Eargo from my son. It sounded good and I went ahead and got them a month ago. So far, I haven't had too much use of them. Because of the Coronavirus, I haven't been able to leave the house and I don’t need them to watch TV. I had them on one time when I got a phone call and I couldn’t hear with it at all, so I had to take it out of my ear then I was okay. I also find I’m irritable if I wear them all the time and they itch my ear too much, so I don’t usually wear them. However, I'm very pleased with them when I wore them.

I had hearing aids that were programmed for my type of hearing loss. The one I had was behind the ear and I didn't like those because my glasses would irritate it, the wind would irritate it. It was just a pain. Eargo had the inner ear type hearing aid. However, with my Eargo, sometimes, I get an echo with certain frequency levels with them so I have to take them out of my ears and put them in a case to adjust the levels. And that concerns me because every time I take them out and put them back in, it's recharging. And I don't know if that counts against my overall charging ability as a whole. But the interaction that I had with their customer service from start one was outstanding.

I love my hearing aids. I like that you can hear better. It’s like you’re not reading people’s lips. My hearing isn’t that bad, but it’s not great because I was in the Navy and like a knucklehead, I didn't wear protection. Also, my place got broken into and I was sleeping and they almost killed me and they crushed my ear with a gun. It made me have to need the hearing aids more for my left ear than it is for my right ear, but once I put it in, I’m realizing that my right ear needs them just as much. I don’t wear them all the time. But it is the most simple, hidden device that I coulda got into my ear.
I like that it’s not that they’re just an amplifier, they're hearing aids also. So to me, that made a difference. I talked to the ear doctor and they wanted me to get the ones that you could barely see behind your ear, but there’s that little wire that goes down and into your ear. I asked them what was I gaining with that, and they said I was gaining a fixed sound to what my ears are. I clarified that if it was a fixed sound then I can’t adjust it? They said no. So what the hell would I want something like that for? I knew I could adjust and I could do things through the app with Eargo, and to me, it seems smarter.
I had problems with customer service as far as getting through and needing my questions answered. It was so tough to talk to Eargo unless you say that you wanna buy the hearing aids, then somebody picks up. Once I do that, the person helps you out right away and then it’s taken care of. But as far as being rude or mean, they were not even in the slightest. They were great. Their product is taking off and they need to man more, so I totally get it.

I tried several different hearing aids and I saw an ad where Eargo offered to send out a sample unit. It was not electronic but just to determine the quality of fit. So I talked to them about that and they said that I could get the hearing aids and try them and that there's a 45-day trial period. If they don't work out, I can send them back. So I went ahead and made the purchase on that basis. I ended up sending them back. They did not work reliably. I had some extraneous issues that made them difficult to work with. I've had an itchy thing in both ears in the ear canal. I had it checked by audiologist, by a dermatologist, and by a regular MD. They can't find anything wrong. I had itching that occurs and the only thing I could do is take the things out and scratch it. Also, the sound quality has not appreciably improved my hearing. I could see some changes but it was not worth the cost of buying those units.
I had one unit that quit working altogether. I sent it back and they sent me a replacement. It worked okay for a while but then I was having difficulties with it. I don't know if it was something to do with the physiology of me and the unit or what the thing was but I was within the trial period. I spent $2,350 for the things and I wasn't getting anywhere near the return on investment that I felt I should. So I sent them back and they should have received the units back by now and I'm expecting a refund very shortly, within the next week or so. But my relationship with Eargo has been fine. I've had no disagreements or bad conversations with them. It's been very positive because thus far, they have been very fair, assuming they make the refund that they said they will. It's just that their units didn't work well enough for me to satisfy my requirements.

Everything is working out as well as it can get. The clarity is good. But I wanna have my hearing checked again. I have the left ear set on two and the right ear set on three. I use those settings especially with the cellphone but it's weird. Sometimes, I hear the people talking to me. But sometimes, I'm asking them to repeat what they said. I don't know what else to do at this point. I think there are four settings though. I moved the left one up to three and the right one up to four and see how that works.
I also had hearing aids through Miracle-Ear. They're the ones that are behind the ear and there's the one that goes into the ear to them. Vanity-wise, I hate them because people know you have them in and it took me forever to get used to them. In fact, I still am not used to them every now and then. Three to four months went by that I didn't wear them at all and those cost me close to $6,000. It was driving my wife crazy, "Why did you pay that much money if you're not gonna wear them?" And she's right.
Then I read a couple of articles that people had sent in and that was when I saw these here from Eargo. I thought I would give it a shot and I actually like it a lot better than the ones I had from Miracle-Ear. I have the Eargo Max but I think the better one was the Neo. The Eargo Max is 1,300 or 1,800 and I was thinking about switching over to the Neo if I would just have to pay the difference. But I keep going back and forth. I talked to one of Eargo's representatives after the 45 days though and that was great.

I had just turned 72 but over the last several years, my hearing has gotten to a level where it was a problem even if I wasn’t in a crowded atmosphere. My wife could be sitting in the couch across the room from me and everything she said would sound really muffled. I couldn’t hear my grandkids from the backseat of the truck. But I call the hearing loss mild to moderate because if someone spoke up and he spoke clearly then I didn’t have a problem. However, I was surprised at how many people speak really softly. I just have to keep saying, “Huh?” Otherwise, I would act like I understood what they were saying.
When I couldn't hear my little granddaughter tell me what she wanted to tell me from the backseat, I finally decided I needed to do something about it. I saw Eargo's one little piece of ad and thought I would look into it. So I did my research, got on their website and went through all the reviews. I watched all the videos and I knew basically what I was getting. I also knew I had a 45-day return policy. But I didn’t wanna mess with ordering the dummy ones just to see if they felt comfortable or not. I went ahead and ordered a pair of the HiFis and the company's follow-up was great. But I didn’t spend a whole lot of time with the reps. I just said the hearing aids were working better than I hoped. I couldn’t be more happy. Also, I very much appreciated the military discount.

Eargo's rep was helpful and pretty well. Finished up, answered all my questions. I’m using the white fluffies, which are the smallest ones. They are working fairly well and better than the other ones that I had. I hear the higher frequencies a little better, and that’s where my problem was. Hearing female voices on TV was somewhat difficult, and now it's easier. It’s not perfect, but I don't believe anything is going to be perfect. It’s an improvement.

A friend of mine who lives in the other side of the country is an audiologist and she knew about Eargo. I was looking for in-ear type hearing aids and had not had good success with the behind-the-ear kind of stuff. So, when she recommended that I look at Eargo, I did. I liked that they had the sample that they could send out because I was very concerned whether it would be comfortable to wear in my ear. I have very sensitive skin so I was concerned about that too and that was helpful. I also don't mind doing things online. I've gotten pretty good at buying things that way, so it didn't bother me not going to an audiologist and having it done that way.
When I first saw the hearing aids, they were funny-looking and I didn't like that they were black because I thought that would show, but they don't. I probably wouldn't have selected them if I hadn't had that recommendation. But I like my Eargo hearing aid and I’m happy with them. I don't wear them all the time because I live alone and I don't put them in every day all day long but when I go out and sometimes around the house, I do wear them. They've become more comfortable. I've gotten used to them and they do seem to help me hear. I’m pleased with the quality and Jerry, the rep, has given me some good hints.
I’ve recommended Eargo and two persons tried. One of them has a much more profound hearing loss and so it didn't work for her. She wanted them too and liked the idea but she had to return them. Then, the other person only got so far as the sample and she didn't like how it felt. She probably needed more guidance and maybe it would've worked for her. But she didn't even try and it didn't work right away.

My hearing has been getting pretty bad and from time to time over the past three years, I have been researching hearing aids. Two months ago, I decided it was time again. I’ve researched just about every kind of hearing aid you could imagine and saw the Eargos. And when I saw the model that they had out this year, it was even better. The way the earbuds fall in your ear, the flex strips and the Eargo's features also got me to choose them. They are smaller and don't necessarily plug your ear off with the molded ear hearing aids. You could still hear a lot of natural sounds. They are also fully in the canal and they are the only ones that are rechargeable.
I have a pretty significant hearing loss, especially in the 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 range and I didn’t know if they were gonna work for me. But I thought they might work so I decided to do the free trial. And I also got a military discount, which made the quality compared to cost relation even better. I love my Eargo hearing aids. I wore them for about two weeks before I had my first appointment with one of the specialists. And after we tweaked them, they were even better.
Thank you for your service, Chad. We love your comment, and are happy you're hearing life to the fullest with our virtually-invisible, rechargeable hearing aids!

The first salesman I talked to left the company in the middle of the stream. Then when they told me I could use my insurance benefits, there was a big snafu. They told me my insurance would pay less than I thought they would so I paid my share of it. Then I contacted Blue Cross Blue Shield and they said they would pay more. I contacted Eargo and told them that I made an overpayment. Blue Cross Blue Shield told me they paid $2,000 and Eargo said they only paid 1,500 or something like that. I had to call a bunch of times to get my refund. I also had to talk about the Better Business Bureau on Blue Cross Blue Shield, but then they refunded it shortly after I got a little more aggressive about asking for it. It would've been better off to pay for Eargo outright and got my refund check from Blue Cross Blue Shield, but they told me they accept that now.
Another snafu was that when I first received my Neo HiFi, which was the latest one they offered, the charging case did not connect via Bluetooth to any of my Apple devices. After about a week and a half, I finally reached a Bluetooth specialist. They told me to do the same thing that I had done before, delete the app, reinstall the app, and all that other stuff I did to try to connect via Bluetooth. Then they sent me another charging case so the first charging case was no good.
But it’s great to be able to access an audiologist and have the programs changed remotely, especially in these days. She was also kind enough to write a fantastic letter saying that I needed to have my cell phone in order to access the Bluetooth capabilities of the Eargo devices. Where I work prohibits us from having our cell phones at work. Now I have permission so I really appreciate her time writing that. I’m happy with the devices and I have been recommending it to other people.

I tried cleaning and recharging, going and being sure my ear was clear with my doctor. I called, and after several calls got a replacement which worked fine. Within three weeks the other side blinked out. Did all of the same things. Called, and then called and called for help. No callback. I am now only hearing on one side. Hopelessly disappointed. Had such HIGH hopes for this company. Still waiting after three days for a person to answer the phone. I had behind the ear hearing aids from one of the major brands. I've had them for about five years, and I didn’t like them at all because I couldn’t wear my sunglasses. I fish and do a lot of stuff outside, so it was kind of inconvenient. Eargo has ads all over so, I went on the computer, took a look at them, made a phone call and bought a pair. Everything about the customer service has been excellent. The lady on the phone was dynamite and I ended up getting another $200 off of the advertised price. The hearing aids were here in two days, and when I put them in, I loved them right from the get-go. Although I had some problems getting them in my ears properly, that was me, not the hearing aids. The audiologist called. He gave me some pointers and told me to brush them off every night. He also emailed some of his little emails.
Over the weekend, the increase in hearing level on one of the hearing aids wouldn’t move up. It wouldn’t tap on my ear and it wouldn’t work. I called on a Friday or a Sunday and got a call back on Monday. The gal worked it out for me and told me what she thought I had to do. I did it and it worked fine. The hearing aids are comfortable and with it, my hearing is great. I keep them on the number one scale and I'm hearing just fine with them. I don't know that I would ever have to increase the level, but I know it's there if I do. I wear them every day and the battery life has been good. I paid $6,800 for my old hearing aids to even know what the difference was, buy my Eargo hearing aids has been 10 times better.

I despised the battery replacement on a hearing aid. I like the recharge method that Eargo has. The price was taken care off by my insurance, hopefully. The hearing aid is attractive and easy to care for. I had one set of aids prior to this, and they were the battery type, over the ear. I could probably hear better and the cost was covered by my insurance but at that point in time, I wasn’t too enthralled with them. This one from Eargo just all came together and it’s a good thing. I've had hearing aids previously, and I wanted to try Eargo out, so I did. When I got both of the Eargo Neo hearing aids, the last one did not work correctly, and they finally sent me another one. They had a little problem with the backorder, but I was okay with that. Once I got that, I tried them for a week or so. I talked to the audiologist and I asked if there was any way she could raise the volume just a little bit. So, she sent me the half, and I would successfully raise all the different volumes the way I wanted them. Since then, it's been very good. I really like it. But I got an email today that looks like they have a different version or a portable device to change the volume instead of having to put them back in the charger and use the phone.
The customer service was very good. Once I had the problem, I talked to someone, and they said, "No problem." I've been in touch with the audiologist a couple of times. Every time they say they're gonna call, they always call, and she's been very helpful. I've been doing the maintenance as they prescribed and it works fine.

I had done other hearing aids from two different companies and they were always the over the ear in-the-ear. I got the smallest ones that I could, but the problem with those was I was always flipping them out or one would be lost. If I flip my hair or put on sunglasses and take them off, then I would lose them. I had tried before some in-the-canal hearing aids that were like $5,000, and when I did a trial on those, the problem I had with them was that if I were to try and eat, I had to take them out because the noise from my jaws and chewing overpowered everything. They were really bad and those were the really expensive ones. I gave up on those and then went back to the over-the-ear type ones.
Now I’ve got the Eargo in-the-ear canal hearing aids, and they’re the latest ones. My main thing about them is they are always there. But I wish they were a little smaller so they fit in better for my ear canal. I don’t feel like I can get them in far enough for them to be unnoticeable. I wish they went in a little bit further, but they can’t. So it is what it is.
I made a call to Eargo this morning because I downloaded the app and I couldn’t get it to connect. When I’m out in certain areas, I would like to be able to program the hearing aids for restaurants so that I could not get so much background noise, and I’m hoping the app will take care of this. But other than that, I am really, really pleased with Eargo. These were a gift from my significant other of which he could not have given me anything better. I so appreciate that. I ordered these new earbuds that are on the jaw so that I can wear them with my hearing aids because I listen to a lot of books online, and so this way, I don’t have to take the hearing aids out. And while I’m listening the book, I can still hear other things going on. So that’s also a big plus for me.

I have Eargo hearing aids for appr. two years. They are good while they work. Unfortunately I had many problems with them during this period: each one of them was replaced as well as the charger. And now right earpiece must be replaced again, but this time at cost of $298.00. Too high maintenance, going to look for something different.
Thank you for your comment, Izak. Eargos are technological devices that require daily and monthly cleaning and care to maintain. We're proud to offer out-of-warranty customers a $295 replacement charger and $395 device replacement fee, both of which include an additional year's warranty. I like the ad of Eargo Hearing Aids in the Federal Times newspaper. After we ordered the Eargo hearing aids, they came in a couple of weeks. The reps also called within a couple of weeks and I talked to a representative. They’ve called me three times after that since I’ve had them. I’ve only had them for six weeks now and talked to them three times already. They were asking me if I had any questions and I did, and they helped me through it.
I made a good decision. The hearing aids work fine and they certainly work. A good preference would be, for example, when I watch the television here, I usually watch it on volume number 12. When I have the hearing aids on, I can lower it down to six to hear the television, which is helpful for the rest of the household here. I’ve worn them out to concerts and everything was pretty clear as well. My body is getting used to them.

I was experiencing a moderate hearing loss and we had hearing aids from Miracle Ear for quite a few years. We found that the cost for replacing them was excessive so we decided to try something different. Reading the information online and looking through the references that were given, we decided to try Eargo. The process in getting the hearing aids was very well done and everybody we talked to has been helpful. Their hearing aids are as acceptable to us with our degree of hearing loss as we had with the Miracle Ear and even without a lot of the problems like we had with the Miracle Ear.
Both my wife and I are using Eargo hearing aids and we’re comfortable with them. In all situations where we used them, they are acceptable. We have the range of definition as far as density and the only time we find it difficult trying to use them is when we answer our phone. We almost have to either put the phone on speaker or take one of the hearing aids out. Otherwise, we get feedback from the hearing aid. Answering the phone can be a challenge if you don’t know what you’re doing.

I’ve been wearing hearing aids for about 5 years now. I work in the trucking industry so I’m around trucks running all the time. Down through the years, it’s taken its toll on my hearing. I like the looks of the Eargo hearing aids because they’re small and they are totally hidden when I put them in my ear. I thought I’d give them a try and so I’ve been wearing them and I’ve been very satisfied. Also, the customer service is wonderful. They were emailing me or calling me and did check up to make sure that I’m satisfied. The salesperson was just as nice and not high-pressured either. And what I liked about it was I had the choice of whether I wanted them to call me or not. You could give your phone number in or email so you don’t have to give them your telephone number.
The hearing aids increased my ability to be able to hear people talking a lot better. The only drawback I have against them is I can’t be around carpenters because the volume runs up and down. The way that the hearing aids are programmed is by tapping the ear. I can raise the volume immediately by double-tapping my ears. I’m having a house built right now, and every time I go there, and if they’re hammering or when the hammer hits, it changes the sound of my hearing aids. So even me, I can’t use a hammer to bang on anything.
One thing that’s a really big plus is their rechargeable batteries. I was using a very popular and very good hearing aid called ReSound, and it’s about $5,000 a set. I had to change batteries in them about every two to three days. But these Eargo are about half-price and I could plug them up every night. I really like that. They also told me they would hold up for about two and a half years. And if they don't hold up for two and a half years, the replacement cost is $400. That’s not bad at all for the price to get them exchanged. Also, they’re even very comfortable.
We're happy you're hearing life to the fullest with Eargo, Eugene. We'd recommend removing your devices while working to avoid your hearing aids unexpectedly changing Sound Programs. Please contact your hearing professional with questions or for assistance at 1-800-375-8058 or support@eargo.com.

I like the Eargos but I was put off by the cost. It was not a great time for us to be entering into something like this but we'll probably be committed to seeing it through, as far as the payment schedule. That goes on for some time. As far as the devices themselves, I’m not totally sold that they're anything more than amplifiers. Actually, you can get amplifiers for far less money. From what I researched, Eargo is still basically an amplifier. It doesn't focus on your respective right and left ear's hearing loss at certain frequencies. It’s more targeted to people with high-frequency loss and I think that’s primarily what mine is, from the ones I had before. That’s what we were working on correcting with the audiologist.
I had gotten some normal, over-the-ear hearing aids before and at the time, my insurance company would actually pay most of it. But the itching in the ear is something that seems to go with them. Initially, I was told that it’s pretty common. But I didn’t like the itching in the ear. I didn’t like the kind of batteries they had either. When you pull the seal off and air hits it, it starts a chemical reaction and the battery is gonna be dead within five days whether you use it or not. I’m also active outdoors and I didn't like that the hearing aids would fall off my ear and sometimes, they would even pull out the in-the-ear part. It was crazy. So I gradually didn't wear them very often.
On the other hand, the Eargos are very discreet and pretty low-maintenance so far. Plus you don’t have to do batteries. Those are the things that make them feel like a better fit for my personality and lifestyle. So I recommended them to two other people with the caveat that they have a 45-day trial period to decide for themselves. I told them to be sure to send them back within 45 days if they don’t like them. I don’t think Eargo is perfect at all. Ideal hearing would be nice to have again but that’s not gonna happen. So at least they're something that I’m happy to put in and keep in. They are far more comfortable. I even find that, if I lay down and start watching TV, I’ll go to sleep with them on. That’s not the way I like to do it but at least that says that they're not bothering me a whole lot. So far, I haven’t had any problems with them.
I hope that they’ll be durable because it seems to me like I’m kind of a jerk of a consumer. If you buy a car new and you finance it for 60 months – some are even 72 – they should keep that car running for you until you've paid for it. I feel the same way about the Eargos. If you're gonna finance them for a certain amount of time, I ought to have a full boat, blanket replacement warranty without any questions asked if one of them should have a fail. But the reviews that I’ve seen were not very reassuring about the kind of support you get after paying this amount of money. Other users who reviewed Eargo said that if there were problems, Eargo is not really too good about replacing. I think there is a $300 charge to replace one if it fails. I read about the red charger issues and about one that would change the settings by itself.
In terms of the four different levels, two seemed to be a pretty good fit. But I felt like I continued to have problems. It's not so much being loud enough but it’s like it’s not altogether clear that I’m having problems still with understanding what someone said. Ladies’ voices on TV dialogue will seem really overly loud. Then with the men’s, I still can’t quite distinguish what they're saying as well as I'd like. As far as tech support, I had made some remarks conversing with one of the ladies who followed up. I said I’d like to have something that would maybe focus on the crowded loud environments. So allegedly, I got an update and initially, there was a problem with that but it was more server-related on the IT end. Supposedly, there’s been a fix. Nonetheless, my Valentine’s Day gift to my wife would be to not go back to having the TV turned up quite as loudly.

Their customer support is one of their flagship things they should be proud of. It’s outstanding. Companies today usually don’t have that level of support. But with the product they’re selling, it’s certainly a requirement to have really good support because not everyone is technologically astute. These are leading-edge technology, and the fact that they can be configured and worked from your telephone, it’s a real plus for people like me. Even though I’m a baby boomer, I’ve been a tech know-it-all all my life. I love technology.
Eargo does a really good job on their video training. Their written communication on usage is quite good. It's a real plus that they reach out to their customers and that they provide outstanding customer service. The only thing that I would like to be able to do that I can’t is I would like to be able to determine what frequencies are amplified versus which ones aren’t. Because everybody has a certain set of frequencies in hearing loss that they lose as opposed to others, and my low frequency hearing is quite good. So the problem with amplifying across the spectrum is that everything amplifies, even the things you hear well amplifies, which can be a little bit annoying. So for these lower frequencies, I’d like to not amplify those as much as I do with the frequencies that I have weaknesses in. But the hearing aids are comfortable. Nobody could tell you're wearing them. I’m quite pleased with my investment and it’s been a very positive experience for me.

I bought some hearing aids about three years ago from Costco and paid $2,700 for them. I took them off one night and put them away, and then I haven't been able to locate them for about two and a half years. I really didn't like those hearing aids but I went back to Costco thinking that they must have some different ones by then, but they showed me the same thing at the same price, so I just left. And then I started paying attention to what other people have. I followed up on several companies that advertised on the internet, and I ended up liking the idea of Eargo. They're wonderful. I've been wearing them for at least two months now and I'm very happy. I just don't wanna lose them. I am afraid I'll mislay one or it'll fall off when I'm brushing my hair, but they haven't. It took me a long time to spend the money but I think I'm getting my money's worth. My friends and family are also happy that I have them. I saved some money over Costco too.
I just wish I heard from my Eargo rep more. It has probably been a month and I don't know where she is. There are some unanswered things, like, I don't really know how much time I'm supposed to spend cleaning with the little brush. Still, the hearing aids have made a big difference. I watch a lot of television and I put them on because you can't hear the foreign films well. The sound is good with them on. Also, I know that with the shower cap, I can keep them in when I take a shower, but I don't. I've had them on once or twice though. I really haven't had any trouble other than getting the one in properly because I think my opening is either bigger or littler. But the right one goes in very easily and it's snug.

It took me forever to get hearing aids because, to some extent, I am still in denial that I need them. But my family all said that I do, so I got them. I decided on Eargo seeing that they were right to the point, saying that if I don’t like the hearing aids, I could send them back. I also got simple and quick answers to all my questions. I appreciated all of that. So even though it’s very difficult to buy something from that far away over the phone, I took a chance. And it came out very well so far. I always got the option to call them if I have an issue, which is very good.
I’m wearing the hearing aids part-time and I’m still adjusting them a little bit, but it’s working out really well. I'm still conscious about wearing them in a crowd, though, thinking if the hearing aids are gonna work or are they gonna fall out. But in the house with the television and movies, they have really improved my hearing. I am happy with them.

My audiologist recommended a very expensive hearing aid brand, so I researched online and found that Eargo was highly recommended. I called them and they called me back, and we were on the phone for like half an hour. They take their time to talk with you. They also gave me a discount as a veteran, and so I bought the device given the price. And I’m happy with them. It was interesting when you first put them in and you go to wash your hands. It sounds like Niagara Falls if you have it up too high. Other than that, they’re fine. I put them in, and the guy showed me how to eliminate phase four so it wouldn’t be so loud, because I don’t need it. And that was great. So, I just tap my ear and it decreases or increases the sound ability.

I have experienced helpful support from all individuals, except one, associated with Eargo up until the point of the same repeated instructions, repeatedly not working. There is no change in my hearing, nor do the aids work as described. I cannot change the volume, nor do I hear the tones to change. It seems like I paid for a trial set. Further, with the effort of use came discomfort within my ear. After removing, my ears ached. I tested other aids and did experience improved hearing without discomfort. I choose Eargo for the discreet size. Now, since about a month or so after purchasing, they remain in their box, as a reminder of my disappointment! I just gave up trying, support was not helpful in securing a positive outcome. I am so sorry that I ever tried this product. The investment in my decision to choose Eargo financially restricTs any other purchase. There is one star only because I had to choose it to complete this review.

Within a couple of hours, they called me. I talked to the guy and gave him my insurance information. He said that I was 100% covered that they were gonna ship the hearing aids. Three days later, I had them. Then, somebody else followed up and asked if I got them and if I was happy with them. I said that has made a big difference.
10 days later, I had an appointment with the audiologist and she called me. I was on the phone with her for about 20 minutes. She asked me a bunch of questions about the hearing aids. I said that people’s voices aren’t muffled and I could hear them clearly. I’ve also had several emails from Eargo asking how I was doing. I’ve been really happy with the hearing aids up until about three days ago. When I put them in the other night, the right side of the charger switched to red lights all the way across instead of the blinking white lights.
Normally, it will blink until all four go solid, which shows that they’re fully charged. I tried to swap them out and do different things with them, but I still can’t get the right side charged. I switched it over to the left side and it seemed like it was charging, but it didn’t charge. I had to go back and look at the emails to find the 800-number. I’m not sure if it’s the hearing aid or the charger. I’m hoping that they’ve experienced this before and they can walk me through it or I could get another charger.

I chose Eargo because they were small enough to fit in my ears and I was tired of having my hearing aids that had the microphone on the outside. They sent me a brand-new set of the Eargos. I charged them in every night like I was supposed to. Four hours later, they were dead. I had no hearing at all. I got in touch with Todd and he said he was going to send me another set. They sent me another charger and it didn't work. And I was ticked off because I told him I have company coming all this week and I can’t hear. So, they sent me another one that I got in the mail yesterday. I plugged everything in and we took a picture of it and I sent it to Todd. Half of it is white, which shows it was charging, while the right half showed no charge at all.
I’m gonna call Todd because I’m tired of sending back emails. I’m totally distraught. I’m in the middle of something and all of a sudden, I am totally deaf. I have three chargers at this house and none of them are working. Also, they were supposed to send me back a return receipt which they didn't do because I’m not gonna return anything, because now I have nothing.
I got a response back from Todd this morning. He’s willing to work with me on this, but unless I get a brand-new set, I’m done and I want all my money back. I’m very dissatisfied. Their response people responding to my calls and has been excellent, but talking to somebody and getting what you actually need are two different things. So, unless I can have a brand-new set here by tomorrow, I’m gonna have to be finished. It’s very sad because I live in a community and the first thing they heard about was these hearing aids that I got and I told them how reasonable they were, and then it has been misery ever since. I’m gonna have to call American Express and tell them that I’ve had a terrible time with this and not to send the money. I have company here all week. The only consolation that I have is I still have my old hearing aids. Is it good? No. Can I hear a little bit? Yes.

My wife has dementia and has had severe hearing loss due to bacterial meningitis. She has been wearing Eargo hearing aids for a while. The first set that she had was over the ear. And then she had two sets of in the ear, the thick ones on batteries, and they were very uncomfortable. she used to have some days where she would not wear them and I would not talk to her for the entire day because she could not hear me. So, it was frustrating. Then, my daughter went to CES last year and she had mentioned Eargo, and then she went back this year and said that she tried them and were great. And we went ahead and bit the bullet.
My wife said it is the most comfortable thing that she ever used. She loves them, and she wears them all the time now. I sent an email to our representative, however, because she does not seem to get the low tones that low. Still, I have recommended them to another person because of their comfort level, and he just bought a pair. I'm in love with Eargo. Their customer service is great. My advice: Never buy anything as important and expensive as this online. I have been wearing behind the ear hearing aids for about 8 months, and wishing I could afford inside the ear aids. Eargos caught my attention. The salesperson assured me they would fix the issues I had with my current hearing aids, and that I would be best suited to the less expensive model, under $2,000 with my military discount. I sent a copy of my audiologist’s report and was told that, no, I would need the top of the line model after all. Okay, fine.
The Eargos arrived in just a couple of days, and I knew the first time I put them in my ears that I had made a terrible mistake. First, there was ear piercing feedback when I inserted them. Then I realized that all sound was terribly muffled in my left ear. Having already been fitted for other hearing aids, I know that it takes a while to get used to them, so I left them in, determined to give them a chance. After about 30 minutes, my ears began to itch. I took them out, rubbed my ears and reinserted them. More feedback. I tried putting them a little further into my ear canal. More feedback. I tried changing the program. More feedback. Within another 20 or 30 minutes, more itching. But I was determined! I tried changing the tips. Worse feedback! And still itching.
I sent a text message to my salesperson. She set up a phone call with one of their audiologists. She said feedback and itching can happen with any hearing aid. Um, no. Never with the ones I had before the Eargos. Then she started in on a litany of ways that I could MINIMIZE my problems with the Eargos. Um, no. I’ll stick with my behind the ear hearing aids, thank you. Now, mind you, I texted the very first day they arrived telling Eargo that I was experiencing severe problems with this product. I waited two further days for their audiologist to call and tell me, "Gee, that happens sometimes."
I told her I didn’t believe the Eargos were so much better than what I already had, or worth so much more money when using them meant I would have to repeatedly push them in and pull them out of my ear canal over and over until I found a sweet spot, all the while enduring that piercing feedback, and that I wasn’t going to use some ear goop she recommended to relieve the itching, or jump through any number of other hoops she could come up with. Yes, it is annoying that my behind the ear model competes with my glasses for space back there, but THEY DON’T HURT! It took less than a day to realize that these weren’t for me, but I still had to pay $99 for the trouble. I knew the first time I put them in my ears they weren’t for me, but they still charged me $99. They explained that they have to charge me $99 in order to keep their costs down. So, everyone enjoy the discounted price. That I helped pay for. Like I said, I should have known better.

Eargo would take whatever the insurance paid for payment and no cash-out on my part. I’ve been quite impressed with every bit of communications, phone calls, concern, feedback that I get consistently on emails about how to take care of the equipment, and it’s been excellent. There was one fellow who was the initial caller for me. He took his time, he answered all my questions and he was very friendly. We were even able to talk freely in some other matters just for the fun of it. He called back within 10 minutes of when I put something on the internet about wanting to have some additional information. That was a pretty rapid response in my opinion.
The hearing aids sound a lot better and I use the level one. The only issue is that it seems as though it has a lot of treble. If I was listening to music, I’d put more bass to it ‘cause there’s a sharp sound. The high frequency is what I wasn’t getting all along because of my loss in the high frequency range. It’s getting used to that as well as having foreign objects in my ears. Initially, about an hour was all I could take to wear it, and then it was a couple hours, and then maybe three hours. It seems after a while it’s getting a little better. They just need to come out and rest awhile. I’m very pleased with it all-around.

I like the hearing aids. I don’t even feel them when they're in my ears. The last rep that I talked to was very nice and wanted to know how I felt about them. He wanted to know if I was having any problems. He explained to me what to do if I had a problem and if I needed some more supplies if anything got lost. He also explained to me how it works. Everybody was real nice. They're right there if you need anything. I felt more confident since wearing the hearing aids. The first time I wore them to church, they kinda rang. It was like when they buzz once in a while, but they're not doing that now, and I feel real comfortable wearing them. I hear so much better. I can hear the little conversations that my sisters have, so that’s kinda neat.

I don’t want to go through the routine of doing a hearing test because with technology, I don’t think it's necessary anymore. And Eargo did not require a hearing test for me. I don’t wanna deal with a local place here where they have a big fancy storefront and a lot of people working there because I know I’m paying for the service, not for the product.
I went with the best hearing aid that Eargo has. It was the new one they just came out with. The right one quit working though. And I contacted them and they were nice about it. But I’m still waiting. It’s been more than a month. They gave me a tracking number for United Parcel Service. However, United Parcel Service doesn’t have it yet. So it must not have left their place in California. I’m very frustrated. I contacted customer service about it the day before yesterday. And they said that as soon as they were in, they would ship one to me. But I’ve been with this one here for the last month. I love the product, but I’m really disappointed that they didn’t have something in-stock so they could have shipped to me right away.

If they were in the living room and I was in the kitchen then they said something, I couldn't quite make out what they said. So my brain, in the absence of adequate information, would just make stuff up. I've had this hearing loss feeling for almost five years and one day, my kid asked me what dust was made of and my response was, "Oh, stuffed tomatoes, I love those." While it was very funny, it really started to bother me. So, I'm a social worker and there was a woman telling a story one night about her departure from Syria and I could not hear her in spite of how close I got to her. I thought how awful it was that she was finally telling this terrible story and I was not actually able to hear it. And that was it for me.
I made the call the next day and I tried to buy hearing aids online but it didn't work. Then, when I was in a car and I just called the person and said I needed these right now then gave him my credit card number. After, the hearing aids came and I popped them in. I didn't realize when I first tried them on that I had my dishwasher and my washing machine going. So I heard a lot of noise really quickly and it was quite remarkable to be able to hear. Then one time, I went out into the woods and there's a sound that the wind makes at the top of the trees. I realized that I had not heard that sound in many years and it was the coolest thing.
Other than that, I looked at all of the models of hearing aids and the Neo seemed like the newest one. That was what I went with and I also got a lot of support from Eargo when I first got them. They told me to put a little bit of Aloe on them at the insertion so it'd be easier and I cut one of the middle flanges out for one of my ears because it felt too big. Besides that, I love them. I work in schools so I'm often in cafeterias with kids. And it's great to be able to hear people in a crowd and I feel like I'm not missing stuff that I was really bothered by missing. While I don't wear them all the time because I don't always need them, when I use them and I put them in, they're so comfortable. So I really feel that as time has gone by and I've increased my wearing time, they're just a simple part of my life. I love the way they charge, too, and they're so elegantly designed.

Eargo had several things that made me wanna look at it. Plus, the cost was in-line with the quality. I liked the in-the-ear and the rechargeable hearing aids. I get feedback though when I pick up and answer the phone but other than that, it’s wonderful. I have moderate hearing loss and since having the hearing aids, I now understand what my wife is talking about.

An audiologist in Franklin, Tennessee recommended and gave me an Eargo demo pair to try. I was tested because my hearing was deficient, especially when there’s background noise at work and other places. Also, I have a grandchild, a little girl, who I couldn’t hear from a distance. A high pitch is my problem primarily. I knew from that appointment that I had to have frequency loss, which is typical for old men but a pain the rear. I got the over-the-ear hearing aids rather than in-ear because some of them really block you up bad. I’ve got friends who have had them. And the over-the-ear were a pain in the rear because they compete with your glasses. So, it’s a constant kind of a nuisance having your glasses sitting on top of the device itself. I just gave up and I took them back. They were like 8,000 bucks, which is no small sum.
Eargo reached out to me about a year later, and I felt, “Wow, that’s a good price if these things are any good.” I debated on it for a while, and finally around Christmas, I went for it. The only thing bugging me is that the left unit clicks on occasion. Most of the time, if I raise the volume or lower it or right after I put them in, there’s a distinct pop-like static. It’s not painful but it’s a nuisance. And it’s just an indication that something’s not right because the right one has never done it once. I’ve talked to their audiologist and she told me to clean them. I clean them very well but the left one still does it. Besides that, I like the devices. They’re simple. I got them and then stuck them in my ears. They were charged and they worked. And it appears to me that they're very high quality products. From what I can tell with electronics, they seem solid. They’ve got a long battery life. And I love the rechargeable feature.
Happy hearing, Harrison!

I liked the technology and the size of the Eargo hearing aid, and not having it behind the ear hanging out. I wasn’t so concerned that you get to se it or not but it is a plus that you can’t see it. I got the Eargo Neo and it’s good. Some modification was done online with me. They gotta tone down some things a little bit. I talked to their office three times over the course of a year, and the woman I bought them through is gonna hang in there with me. She did a nice job. Then, I talked twice now with the doctor online and she was very helpful and answered my questions. So, they were excellent.
Since working with Eargo, I got my wife off my back a little bit but she still wasn't happy with the fact that they did it on a company that's not brick-and-mortar, and you don't go in and sit down with some audiologist. Also, the fact that it wasn't a company that has been around for a long time, I don't know what the other products would be because this is the first time I bought a hearing aid. So, I can't tell the quality of what I hear now or the way they function now compared to if I spent an additional three or $4,000 more, but I'm satisfied.
We're happy you're hearing life to the fullest with Eargo, John, and that your hearing professional was able to help provide guidance to help you get the most out of our virtually invisible hearing aids.

My hearing loss happened within my 20's. I worked at the Houston Intercontinental Airport, which is now the Bush Airport, and I didn’t always have access to the headphones to keep the jet engines from roaring. Over the years, I had hearing loss and it turns out that my hearing has actually gotten better, but I have a really weird body chemistry. I died for 15 minutes in 2012 because one of my heart valves disintegrated. I completely bled out and they refilled me with blood. We don’t even know if the blood that’s in me is mine or not. Mostly I made it, because blood cells die. But my blood cells aren’t even formed right and I take Warfarin and I’ve been HIV positive for 30 years. Those are just the base issues. I can’t even tell you all the side effects of it.
I used Eargo for a month. The quality was excellent. There was a little base and it’s less than an inch long and it was as round as a spool. There was padding to keep it stuck in the ear and it was very comfortable. The thing that worried me was there was also a thing like a fish line that was stuck on the rear-end of it, where the microphone was that hang out off the ear. For a $2,000 product and only insured for a year unless you buy the insurance, I was worried that when you pull it out, that line was gonna break eventually. I sent them back and I did get a big discount. It was 2,750 and I only paid 2,200 for them then.
But my hearing has gotten better. The Eargo that I’ve had has four different levels of hearings, and I had to turn off three and four because they were too loud. After a week, it got to the point that two is too loud. After a couple of weeks, the hearing aid was just too loud. I did go to an ear doctor because I have full medical coverage, thanks to the government, and they determined that my hearing loss is only on the very high pitch things. And it makes sense now, because I don’t hear birds anymore, but with the hearing aids, I could hear them. I already sent the hearing aid back because that’s not a good reason to have it.

Its overall functionality and performance are very good. They're easy to use and the technology is amazing. It is expensive, but if it saves my ears and my aunt can hear, then it is worth it. Moreover, there is a good support system from Eargo. When Amber called, she sent a lot of information. I would recommend them especially for somebody in my aunt's situation.

I had a problem hearing high-pitched sounds and I would have to ask people what they said. I’m involved with a lot of different types of groups and I teach, and especially with students, when questions are asked, it gets a little embarrassing to say that I didn't hear what they said. I also serve in the courts as a mediator, so I have to listen carefully into the proceedings.
When someone from Eargo called me, we had a long discussion where I asked questions and he gave very favorable answers. I was pleased. I also got a hearing aid from them because I liked the idea of not having something hanging. I’ve had another type of hearing aid which I had to hang over my ear and I didn’t quite like that arrangement. But now, I got the one behind the ear from Eargo. Since I got it, I can hear things better, especially at the high-pitch and I was amazed. It sounds even better with the people speaking in a lower voice modality. If I was in a restaurant, I could hear people all the way across.
At first, my biggest concern was I didn’t quite review the material well and I was sort of anxious to start with it. And the first time I plugged it in my ear, I had trouble pulling it out. I didn’t realize that that little strand that sticks out can be pulled. I thought it was an antenna and I was afraid that if I pulled it, I might pull a fuse from the actual mechanism. But I was told otherwise. It’s for the purpose of pulling it out of the ear, so it’s much easier now.

I have a really hard time with high tones. I can’t hear beeps and things like that. I had been looking at hearing aids through a healthcare and they were so expensive. So, I started searching online and looking for highest reviews for my type of hearing loss. I saw Eargo in an advertisement online and I went with the lowest ones, the $1,700 version. It's pretty decent. In crowded areas, now I don’t get all the background noise and things like that. So, it’s actually good if I’m in an area where there’s more than one person talking. I can actually focus on the person talking to me. I seem to be hearing the high tones better too. I don’t have to turn the TV up as loud, and I can actually hear my wife now. The team at Eargo were all very helpful as well. I’m pretty satisfied and very pleased so far. Everything’s been great.

I lost my hearing aid and I couldn't afford $5,000 or $6,000 new set of hearing aids since I'm still paying the cost for them. So the cost is my reason for choosing Eargo hearing aids. I've had it before Christmas. It works pretty well when it's on the right environment. But I'm having a problem with the right hearing aid when changing the environment and it happens every now and then. I thought that if you put your hand over the speaker portion, it would change the environment. It has changed a couple of times but I'm having problems getting it now. I also get the high voice tones but the regular voice tones may be missing.
I had a little challenge with the charging. When I looked at the charger, I had red lights on one side and white lights on the other side. The young lady from Eargo gave me some instructions on how to clean it and make sure that the contacts are clean so it’ll charge. I've been cleaning the contacts and it seems to be working as far as both earplugs are charging at the same.
The ear analysis I have is over a year. So I was thinking of getting another ear analysis so that I could send it to Eargo to help with the fine-tuning. Fine-tuning the hearing aids is a big part of the effective ear and the quality of the device. But you have to go to the company and leave the device so they can adjust it. If there could be a way of doing the soundcheck and adjustment over the phone, that certainly would be handy.

My Eargo helps a lot. Most of my hearing is on the right ear. I can hear a little, but when I listen, my main ear is the left ear. I can hear and communicate. I can hear people from behind me and from distance. It's a really good product and better than Miracle-Ear and Beltone. Beltone was terrible and charged me so much. Also, you can't see the Eargo and almost nobody knows that I'm wearing them, and you don't need any batteries.
Their customer service was great and answered my question. But if I ever have to troubleshoot anything, I've got everything on the internet. When I couldn't hear on one ear, I figured out how to fix it. I was gonna call them, but when I went to the internet, everything just worked out. I'm a very happy person and really satisfied with Eargo. I would recommend them to other people.

I have had my Eargo Neos since late August of 2019. Initially they were awesome, then a couple weeks later the problems started. Long and short the charger was defective requiring warranty replacement. Then shortly thereafter the right earbud refused to connect reliably to the charger, again requiring replacement. Now the replaced right bud is suffering from the same problem a few months later.
Again initially customer service was great but over time it has degraded just like the product. Calling the support line, which is supposed to be open until 9:00 PM usually ends up going to voicemail regardless of the time of day. When I finally got ahold of someone this morning she said she couldn’t help me unless I had the earbuds and charger with me (why would I carry the broken one around?). So 2 more call attempts once I got home I finally was able to speak to a support person. He just asked a few questions, which did not need the devices in front of me, and a 3rd right earbud is supposedly on the way. I work for a startup too. I get it, hardware is hard but poor execution (likely a bad manufacturing partner) will destroy your business. James K

First I strongly have to question the 5 star reviews. I have had Eargo's for less than 2 years and the right one has died, I mean dead, 100% dead. They were great when they worked and I could not have been more pleased. After a few months I started having problems and Eargo replaced first one, then the other then both. These are very high maintenance but very doable. The problem is they just don't last.
Those of us that have been duped and used as experimental testers need to start complaining higher up the ladder like the state and even Federal level complaints. It is a dirty shame that one pays around $2500.00 for a product that constantly quits working and after the warranty they basically say for $X dollars they will send refurbished units. IF the new ones they recently introduced actually do work then we testers need to be thanked with a set of them and will happily return the ones that constantly are problems. And I don't mean send a set with and expect us to pay for them. We have already paid a hefty price.
One of my biggest complaint was the charger just wasn't designed very well. I see they have addressed that problem and the picture appear they have made the charger whereby the two eargo's don't touch one another as they did in early versions. No complaints about my personal contact, she is super to work with and I am sure her hands are tied once the warranty expires. I am absolutely NOT saying Eargo's don't work because when they work they work great but these early ones were simply not perfected and should have lasted much longer than they did.

I had to replace both right and left hearing aids before the expiration of the one-year warranty period. The last replacement occurred one month before the end of the warranty expired. Unfortunately, that hearing aid lasted only three months. Now, they want to charge me $400 on top of the original $2,400 I paid them when I bought the product. They want to blame me for not cleaning them properly, etc. However, I clean them every night thoroughly but believe the product is faulty and not durable. They are too labor intensive to take care of, far beyond the care needed for other hearing aids. I knew the warranty was but for one year. However, I believed their sales pitch that they should last over two years or 1000 charges. Now, I am arguing with them to replace the replacement hearing aid but feel as though they couldn't care less an are insisting on another $400. My fear with this is that it is a crap shoot and a new one may also last only three more months.

I was having some hearing difficulties, so I started doing some research on different types of aids. I didn’t wanna go to the hearing aid people because they were terribly overpriced, and they were taking advantage of senior citizens. So, I wanted to do it outside of that system and I started looking at the different things that were available. And so, I chose Eargo. I got the middle style which was right for me. Then, when this one fails, I’ll probably go to the next one up and get a discount on the next set. The batteries are built-in and they told me it only lasts about three years but it has been working good. One day I took them out of the little charger, and put it in my ears, and they wouldn’t activate. They told me to take it out and get a little alcohol on a cloth, and then wipe off the little contacts for the chargers. It probably wasn’t making good contact and didn’t charge up overnight when I charged it.
I've used the hearing aid on number two most of the time. When I get into a big auditorium or where there’s a lot of noise, I might put it to three although I get some feedback. If I move my hand past my ear or something, I would notice and it’s kinda frustrating. If I’m working outside and I’m banging on things, it changes. I have to remember not to bang twice with the hammer because if you hit a nail twice, your hearing aid changes to the next level. That’s one of those quirks that come with it. It’s an aid and it isn’t gonna cure my hearing loss, but it makes life tolerable.
Before I contacted Eargo, my wife was complaining because I wasn’t hearing what she was saying. I know I’ve lost my high pitch hearing years ago because I worked in the auto business, and I couldn’t hear squeaks and rattles anymore, which was kind of a blessing. Also, I have a burglar alarm that sets off a high-pitch squeal when you come into the house to remind you to turn it off, and I couldn’t hear that anymore. So, I figured that’s the part I’m losing, and I still can’t hear it even with this hearing aid on number four. I don’t hear that high-pitch squeal so I probably pretty well lost that part of my hearing completely but the hearing aids help a lot and I’m satisfied with it. Eargo is doing a good job and I was pleased with the experience.

My hearing loss wasn't bad if people talked slower. I was having difficulties with a lot of the younger generation. They talk so rapidly. Also, when I'm in a group, the background noise bothered me. Then if somebody starts to talk to me, I'm trying to figure out who or what they're talking about and I'd say, "What?" My wife would finish my conversation and then she would help me. With her gone, I don't have that help anymore. I decided to get the hearing aids and I liked the idea. The one I had before was just a microphone or a speaker system, and it didn't do what I wanted. It sat on the back of the ear and had a battery. I'm 88 years old and putting the batteries in for the thing was difficult.
I saw this Eargo advertised and it sounded good to me so I contacted the number. The customer service was fantastic. The gal that I talked with was very nice. I told her what my concern was. I had loved these things because I put them in the case overnight and it charges them up. Now I lost my right ear. It fell down in the old stuffed chair and they're twin chairs. I looked all over and I just can't find it. I need to talk to Eargo in getting another one. I told the barber about my hearing aids. He got it too and loves it.

I had 60% hearing loss on the left and maybe 30% on the right. Eargo offered a free trial, and from the research I did from watching the videos and listening to other people’s testimonies, the hearing aids were easy to hide. With my job, it’s one of those things that we think we’re invisible anyway, so we sure as hell don’t wanna show any signs of not being. I got a hearing aid that is one of their best, and it’s 2,500 bucks. The only problem I had, and I noticed that it was a complaint with other customers too, is changing the programs. I only got to wear the Eargos in the time I had them three times. I called the young lady, Megan, and she helped me adjust them and clean them out only after the second time I used them. And for a couple of hours, I noticed a big difference.
I had surgery on my left ear, and they put a tube in. Then for two weeks, and even to right now, I’ve had drainage. So, I wasn’t able to use the hearing aids cause I'm not allowed to use them if I got any moisture in the ear. So, I returned them. My ENT says that my hearing is gonna be greatly improved once I have that tube put in. Plus, my hearing loss is gonna be lower end, where the Eargos help with higher end frequencies. Since the surgery, voices are much clearer. They still sound a little muffled and distant. It’s not as distant as they were, but I hear everything in stereo now. I still got a little bit of drainage from that left ear, and so I take a Q-tip and let it suck that little bit of fluid that’s there. Once that clears up and I don’t have that drainage anymore, then my hearing will improve quite a bit. But I still have to get hearing aids for low-tone frequencies.
For the technology that Eargo offers and the comfort of them, they’re right there at the price point. They’re very comfortable. They’re easy to put in and remove. I like the little charging thing that they have where I could keep them with me at work because I work 24 hours at a time. Most people don’t do that. The hearing aids drain out 18 hours, and then I had to recharge them, but they charged up pretty quickly. When I laid down and I took a nap, I just went ahead and took them out and put them in the charger. So, the couple of times I got to wear them, they lasted all shift. They still could improve a couple of little things. I’m not sure how they would improve changing the programs. Maybe instead of tapping your ear, since they do have the Eargo app, you could link to them through Bluetooth and change the program through Bluetooth. When you’re in some place and you’re trying to tap your ear to change the program, it looks kinda stupid.
Overall, Eargo is amazing. I love their customer service, and the support that they offered was awesome. Even when you call in and you listen to their little advertisement, the company has a very laid back approach. They're very friendly, not like most companies you call. All that was a pleasure to have to deal with. I didn’t have any trouble returning them. They didn’t give me any grief, which I figured they would. I didn’t really understand having to pay the $2,500 upfront. But then again, once that lady explained, it turns out an expensive product, the people don’t return them. Then they’re at a loss for that product. I get that. They charged it to my card. I gotta call today to see if they refunded that as fast as they took it out. Now, if they didn’t, I will be upset about that.
As far as the actual Eargos themselves, I’ll rate them really high the couple of times I got to use them. I wish I’d have got to use them like 30 days straight. I’d definitely recommend Eargo to a friend. If somebody else could use them, on a higher frequency side, they're great. I hope it benefits somebody. I wish it had benefitted me, but it’s a good product. It just didn’t work for me personally, and I hate that.

I have hearing loss in the high frequency ranges. And when I came across Eargo online, it sounded like it was the way to go because that was the only area that I needed to open hearing. I got the Neo and I started with a bottom one and then gradually moved up through their 40-day trial period. The Eargo team has been very friendly and they tried to help me with everything. I called them once to have range four on them cut down in frequency a little bit. They've been very good about that. The neatest thing about the hearing aids is the fact that they're in my ears and people don't even realize that I am wearing hearing aids.

I have gone through a face to face audiology test (with an independent audiologist) that indicated that my hearing loss was severe/profound, therefore beyond the range of EARGO aids. I have returned the aids and received the refund without any problems. I'm very satisfied with the company trustworthiness and respect for customers so I'm upgrading my review to 4 stars. My only disappointment is that the aids could not help my level of hearing loss.
Original Review: Aug. 20, 2019
I have received my hearing aids from EARGO yesterday, August 19, 2019. They seemed to be working very fine, but after a while I found out that only the left ear aid was working (and working very well) but the right ear aid was making zero difference at all, regardless of changing programs levels (1 to 4). One could say the problem was my right ear, but I still have my old Phonak aids, and despite the fact that I'm not happy with them I can tell that the old aid does work for my right ear, so it is not that I'm deaf from my right ear. Tomorrow I have my Welcome Call with a EARGO representative and will tell the person I'm returning the aids. I know they can replace the defective one but the fact that it came defective destroyed my trust in the reliability of the devices, and since they have a short one year warranty, I don't want to run the risk of getting stuck with a defective unit further ahead.
Appreciate you checking in. We hope you find a hearing solution that meets your needs.

The Eargo hearing aids are very small and very neat. The company presented it so very effectively and they were sort of invisible in action. I got the most expensive one which is the Neo but I returned them for a refund. The main reason was the problem with comfort. The audiologist at Eargo was an extremely helpful person. When I said that I've had discomfort particularly in the left ear, she immediately asked if I ever had surgery affecting that ear. And that was really the problem. The answer is yes to that question so she obviously knew her business. She helped me try various ways in which I might be able to continue to use the Eargos without discomfort. She certainly made it much better but in the end, there was still some residual discomfort, and I didn't really want to handle that.
I kept my previous audiologist informed of my activity with Eargo and she actually went to the b8ta store in Austin and tried them. She wasn't going to prescribe them because they're only available for direct sale but she gave me interesting tests in which she compared what the Eargos were doing for my hearing with more conventional kinds of hearing aids. That did reveal that the Eargos were not giving me all the help. They might stall at high frequencies. If they're being completely comfortable, I might actually ignore that fact.
But there weren't any difficulties returning the hearing aids and getting the refund from Eargo. Every interaction I've had with the company has been very good. They really seemed extremely helpful. The thing was when I returned them, I didn't hear anything for a couple of weeks so I called up. But I got a receipt for my refund later that day. They requested it so incredibly quickly and I don't have any bad feelings. I have already recommended Eargo to a friend.
Thank you for trying Eargo, Mark. We hope you find a hearing solution that meets your needs.

I purchased my Eargos in Feb 2018 for about $2500 and after working thru the issues with their staff I was very happy. However, shortly thereafter I began having problems with the charger, then the individual devices such as battery charger not lasting thru the morning. They send me new chargers, some new devices and even new kits with all the attachments. These all worked for a while, then the same things happened again. The warranty ran out a few months back and even with the latest replacements they sent a little after the warranty expired, the same thing happened again.
I have not worn them in weeks and today I decided to call again. I went thru all the issues with a very nice CS rep and at the end of the day it will cost me another $800 to replace mine or $2250 (this is after a $500 credit). If you cannot support your devices then don't sell them or give people their money back. These issues did not occur after the warranty expired. They began weeks after I purchased them. Joe **

Eargo is great. I spent a number of months before I ordered them and I did a lot of research. I actually went to one of their locations in a Macy’s store in New York City and tried the live devices. They sent me their sample devices which are non-working, but I wore them quite a while for fit and comfort. It probably was a four-month process before I actually made a purchase. I’m pretty analytic so I wanted to make sure it was gonna be the right thing to do.
The problem with an over-the-ear device is the pick-up is in the back of the ear and there’s little speaker inside the ear. That means that when you’re in a crowded environment or any kind of loud environment which is 50% of where you go like restaurants and stores and conferences, you’re gonna hear what’s going on behind you. In those kind of environments, I can’t even understand the person right in front me talking because all the sound behind me is amplified as much so it just masks that sound out.
The thing about in-the-ear devices is it uses your natural ear structure to funnel sound in so it doesn’t amplify the sound from a strange location. And that’s what really drew me to Eargo. I have never been able to wear that type of hearing aid because I cannot stand having my ear plugged up. Almost every in-the-ear device plugs your canal completely. The beauty of the Eargo is they have this little patented foam fabric thing that doesn’t completely close off the ear canal. When you insert it, pressure will equalize and ambient sounds still gets through. That was the primary thing. That, and the difficulty I was having with a behind-the-ear device hearing speech in front of me. And for those two things, Eargo has worked wonderfully. They met my expectations to solve those two problems.
However, I’m having little problems with the charger in getting the hearing aids to sit in it properly. I had to kinda fuss with it quite a bit to get them to start charging. The other charger I had on the ones I sent back weren’t like that so I’m guessing they’ll replace the charger. The most negative experience I had was the fact that I got a brand new pair and one of them went bad in a couple of weeks. But Eargo replaced them promptly. I didn’t have any issue with that and the second pair has been pretty good. The hearing aids have been a vast difference over my previous ones which cost more than three times as much. The Eargo hearing aids are very tiny so they have very small batteries. It’s an improvement over the ones I wore because it’s a whole different style.
I wasn’t big on online purchase which I was leery of, but I really wanted to try Eargo out. I was pleasantly surprised with how they handled the post sales contact. The most positive experience I had was unexpected. I didn’t make the purchase and they disappeared in the woodwork. They were very proactive about contacting me to make sure I was doing okay. They paired me with an audiologist from their staff who set up conference calls every week. Are they perfect? No. If I had to rate them on a scale of 1 to 10, I’d give them a 9. I think they ought to have a little more amplification in them. But overall, I’m very happy with Eargo. I tend to be the person that doesn’t give anybody a perfect score unless it’s really a horrible product or really a fantastic product.
I clean my Eargo hearing aids every night when I take them out of my ear. I think a lot of people are probably lax in their cleaning regimen. And if they’re having problems with their hearing aids, I suspect it’s body oils and earwax. My theory has always been that it’s a lot easier to clean on top of clean than cleaning on top of dirty. When I clean them every night, all I really have to do is wipe them down, brush them a little bit, and they’re perfectly clean and ready to go the next day. If you keep them clean, they perform very well. Once a week I cover the charger with alcohol to make sure all that is clean too. Somebody needs to understand that if they’re gonna invest in this type of device, they need to be willing to clean it frequently.

I have a very mild hearing loss and I went with Eargo because of the size of the ear piece. Everything is good with them but the problem that I have is if I’m in my car with the windows down, the wind will change the volume of it. I’m an electrician and if I’m on a job site with banging or something’s going on or if I’m hitting something with a hammer, that changes the volume to a loud sound so that’s kind of annoying. And right now, we’re still trying to get the right fit for my ear. My canals might be small from what I’m getting from them now because of the little cushion piece that goes on it. We can’t seem to get that to fit right.
Other than that, I have no problems with Eargo. They have been very good and very professional. And comparing them to what I’ve seen out there, the cost is a little better than the average. But for someone elderly, the cost needs to be a little lower because a lot of the elderly do not have insurance so they still wouldn’t be able to afford the price of Eargo's most expensive ear piece.

I like the fact that the Eargo hearing aids were totally inside the ear. And when I called them, they were extremely helpful. I went with their high end model, Eargo Neo. I was finished with Kevin fairly soon, and then I started working with Amber, who was the audiologist, and she was really good. So after you get the sales done, they get you settled in an audiologist that's assigned to you. And they talk to you and you can ask them questions, they ask you about how it is. When I was about three weeks into it, the right ear thing went bad. And we went through a little debugging and we couldn't fix it, so they sent me a new one no charge.
I know this is an expensive item and it took a couple of days to try to do all the debugging, and I was just helpful as I could be on that, but basically, we couldn't do it. There was another thing that Amber did which she was able to remotely shift how the hearing amplification went. Because it was a little tinny for me, and she was able to kinda what she call a flat layout. The people are pretty impressive and the thing works.

It’s a little tricky sitting the Eargo hearing aids into the charger. This morning, when I took them out of the charger, I got the impression that one of them charged and the other one didn’t. Maybe I didn’t fit them correctly. But I’m getting the hang of it. I tried another hearing aid first that was less expensive. It was the MDHearingAid, which was $199. And it was recommended in an advertisement in the AARP magazine, so I took a chance. But I was not happy at all with it. It doesn’t fit well and it was too hard to get it into place. It wasn’t worth it. The other thing I tried was MiracleEar for one of their free evaluations. And they told me that my hearing was absolutely dreadful with a capital D, and they wanted to sell me their hearing aid for $6,500, and I said, “What?” And they said, “Well, that’s all right. We’ll finance it for you.” And I said, “My hearing is not that bad.”
So I decided to try Eargo and they’re working nicely. The only real concern I have about the hearing aid is that the volume is fine, but the quality of the sound is bothering me a bit, because the Eargo seems to filter out much of the bass. I listen to music a lot, especially classical music on the radio and it doesn’t sound right. Sometimes I just take the hearing aids out if I wanna listen to a symphony. It sounds like a poor recording when I’m using the hearing aids. Even voices, sometimes, sound harsher. But when I’m talking to friends, talking to family on the phone and whatnot, it’s okay,

I have partial hearing loss, and at age 52, I find it embarrassing to wear hearing aids. I looked for one that is very invisible since I didn't want anybody to see them and when I googled hearing aids, Eargo came up. I then looked at the reviews and they were all really good. I went for the highest model they had and their top-notch team helped me. I've had a good experience with them. I felt like the initial lady I visited with was very sympathetic to my hearing loss and then, the audiologist who called was more than willing to help in any way she could as well.
There's a bit of a transition when you start wearing the hearing aids, to get acclimated to them. It took me a little bit, but once I started wearing them on a regular basis, all that stuff went away as far as my sensitivity and just being able to hear things. Now, I can hear people talking behind me. It used to be that they better be looking at me or I'm not gonna be able to hear what they're saying. I'm also not having my family repeat themselves as much and I think they appreciate it too. I would recommend Eargo. I'm gonna try to get my dad to get a set because it works so well.

It was very expensive, but I was willing to try something that would increase my hearing and I went with the Eargo Max.
My hearing seems to have improved but I was having all kinds of problems. I had to go try to re-increase or decrease the volume that I could hear from it. I would try them again and see what is best. Also, I had problems with the left-side hearing aid that it wouldn’t fully charge. I spoke to a tech and she gave me several different pointers on what to do. She was very thorough in telling me exactly what I should do with it to see if that would work. She said to charge for a little longer and see what would happen which I did. When I checked them again, it showed full charge on both of them.

The customer service they have is excellent, with their knowledge of the product and their ability to answer my questions and concerns. However, a lot of their instructional material, is online. They give you the various links, and people who use the product may not be as computer-savvy as someone who's younger. And younger people are not using this product for the most part. This is a product that appeals to someone who has hearing loss, which is usually found in the senior citizen set. I have moderate hearing loss and it has affected me in my job. I could not sit in meetings and things like that and be able to participate. I like Eargo's new technology they had come out with and them being recognized by a magazine that rated them as a top new invention coming out. I liked that and the idea of the in-the-ear system.
Customer service was outstanding. The first lady that I talked to when I placed the order was so pleasant and outstanding. She dealt with me on this thing and was able to help me get through. My payment was made with an HFA card and all that got taken care of exactly the way it needs to be done. I was fortunate that time that I got them, they had a $200 rebate that was actually there. There’s a $200 rebate and then there was also an extra year of warranty that was given, so I have a two-year warranty on these. That was a real pleasure to me, to think that I have that available to me.
The shipment was dropped off by UPS at the wrong home. Instantly, Eargo tried to track this thing down and figure out what was going on. They said they would get another set out to me. I, fortunately, went down to the neighbors quarter of a mile and found out that the UPS dropped it off at the wrong home. I talked to Eargo and told them what I did and how I got it. They said, “Great, and hope you start enjoying them.”
After that, I talked to the audiologist two weeks later and she walked me through everything. The audiologist was very good to me. She said she would be there for me if I need anything and she answered my questions. I’ve been just moving right along with them. They have been outstanding for me. I'm not feeling the irritation in my ear and I am able to participate in meetings now. The only annoying thing, and it’s not their problem, is putting a phone up to my ear and it wants to buzz before and after the call. But during the call, I hear everything fine. Other than that, I love everything about them. I like their wireless technology and recharging. I’m pleased with it, with the value that I got, and the price that I had to pay.
We're happy you're hearing life to the fullest, David!

I first went to Miracle-Ear and they gave me a ridiculous price. Then, I went online and saw Eargo. It was totally different. They have a much cheaper price and I didn’t have to have it behind my ear, so I was very excited to hear that. I went with the Neo which was supposed to be the best model and it has been great so far. It's helping me and I hear better. Also, everything was very professional. I was really happy and I would recommend Eargo to anybody else. It’s very good quality at a pretty good cost.

I was not able to pick up the fine tunes in conversation. I'd lose letters and not understand words. I searched around and felt that Eargo checked off all the boxes that I was looking for. I got the Neo, the expensive one, as I like going with the latest and greatest and didn’t consider price. I only considered what I felt was right for me. I love the devices. I returned them though and Eargo should receive them today.
I have nothing against the company or the product. I received a lot of feedback when talking on the cellphone or the regular phone and they made incredible attempts to fix it for me. They were terrific. I've had several interactions with the different levels of their customer service, from the reps answering the phone when I call their 800 number to their audio technicians calling me back to help me with my issue. Every single one of them has been polite, knowledgeable and friendly. I feel good and comfortable with my interactions with them. Eargo is a great company. I would recommend them to anybody that has a need for a hearing aid.

I had about 70% hearing loss and I've had hearing aids before, but I lost one of them one day when I was out recreating. I wear glasses and I'm an active guy, so I wanted to go with in-the-ear hearing aids. I was investigating the options and I chose Eargo, but unfortunately, I have very small ear canals and I didn't realize how small until I tried to put something in them. I had to return the hearing aids but when I had them, I liked the clarity and because I've had behind-the-ear hearing aids, I also liked the directionality. One of the things I really appreciated is I could tell where sounds came from, like if the noise came from behind.
I'm going through the refund process now and it has been very good. They were slow at first, but I think it was because of the holiday. The whole experience was over the top. I was more impressed with the staff and the whole thing than any other part. The hearing aid was great too, but the people made the experience really good. The people of Eargo were so responsive and polite, cooperative, and informative. Every step of the way that I had to deal with somebody, even when I had to return the hearing aids, it was all done very professionally. The customer service was above most other companies that I've dealt with regardless of hearing aids. It seemed like there was a real effort with all the staff and that customer service and customer satisfaction were primary goals.
Thank you for trying Eargo, Ed. While every human being is unique …it turns out the size of our ear canals is not. So Eargo’s patented, soft-as-silk (well, medical-grade silicone) Flexi Fibers and Palms come in two sizes: Regular and Large. Our Regular size is going to be the right fit for about 90% of ears out there. We hope you find a hearing solution that meets your needs.

Although my brain was adjusting to my hearing loss and I wasn't that aware of it, it was annoying to everyone around me. Now that I’ve gotten the Eargo devices, an amazing amount of sound is back and it has been exciting to hear it. My first episode was when I was putting the hearing aids in, adjusting them, studying my manual, and going over everything. Then I walked outside and there was this huge oak tree in my front yard. For a second, at the top of the tree, the wind was rustling the leaves and I could hear it clearly. It was amazing because I hadn’t noticed it before I used Eargo. It was one of those, “Aha,” moments and it was really cool.
I have a variety of different music that I listen to. I have a five-CD player in my art studio and it has rhythm and blues, followed by Mozart, followed by some jazz and a Broadway musical in the same set. When I started playing it, it was like hearing a lot of the stuff for the first time because there were instruments and background sounds that I had become accustomed to or forgot that I was missing out on.
When adjusting the settings from one to two or two to three, it takes just a light tap on my ear to make the adjustment. But this past week, it hasn’t been that easy. Sometimes it has taken five or more taps to get it to adjust. I'm not sure whether that had something to do with cleaning it or the battery charge. I looked through the manual, but I couldn’t find anything that referred to adjusting it. Now, I’m working with Eargo to find out if the issue is something that developed with the device itself or if I’m doing something wrong. And I’m experimenting to try and figure out what the nature of the issue is. But this past weekend, I had to go run an errand and got in the car. I had the window down and had the wind blowing back. The rushing wind made the adjustment for me. The setting went from level one to level two and it was kinda strange because I didn’t touch it. I just heard it saying, “Level two.”
I’m still breaking them in and still getting used to having an alien object in my ear, so I have a tendency to wanna reach up and scratch. I was just in my studio and I have a clock on the wall in front of my drawing table. Now, I hear it ticking. I tilted my head one way to listen to it, then I tilted my head the other way to listen to it, and I couldn’t tell if one was louder than the other. That’s the little things that I keep experiencing the more I have the hearing aids.
I’m really enjoying the hearing aids. It’s an excellent product. I have very large hands, so handling them takes a little getting used to though. I haven’t changed the monthly cleaning thing where I have to use the little device. However, I’m getting to the point where I take the hearing aids out at night and I put it in the charger and I let it go. Then in the morning when I get them out, I take my brush and clean them. If there’s any earwax on it, it’s recommended to wait until that dries a bit so that it could be brushed off easier. I’ve always maintained maintenance with my ears. I keep them clean using cotton swabs so there’s not a lot of wax build up. I assume that people who don’t do that are getting a lot of wax.
When I was traveling in another country, I took the entire box with me because I wanted to make sure I had my techs to be able to troubleshoot any problems. I travel a lot back-and-forth and I can just throw it in my art bag and it works fine with the box it came in. But I’m looking for something light to travel with that can keep it protected.
Overall, Eargo has been giving me excellent service. My wife has also commended the follow-up. Their attention to customer service has been very impressive. Good quality service is very hard to find these days. And I really appreciate the way that they operate and the quality of their product. I would recommend Eargo. I’m pleased with the product and it has been very good for me.
You know that to live for every moment, you’ve got to hear every moment. Happy hearing, Ed!

My audiologist said that I had partial hearing loss. I could hear, but if I wasn’t paying close attention, I might not get the message correctly. I had Nanos before and it kept falling out of my ear. My interaction with Eargo's rep was absolutely excellent. I liked her. She was very good. Plus, I enjoyed my conversations with everyone I’ve spoken to there.
The Eargo hearing aids are horrendously expensive. And the audiologist tried to talk me into the $6,000 ones and that would have been outrageous. Compared to the Nanos though, Eargo's product is better at the noise filtering aspect. I got the top-of-the-line from Eargo. I don’t like its price but it stays in. I took advantage of their trial where I could test it for fit and it worked perfectly well for me. It seems to solve the problem although it may take some adjusting.
I like the idea that I can change the setting with a tap to the ear, but when I’m driving in the car, the adjustment happens automatically with the air coming in through the window and it gets a little irritating. I understand why that happens, given the air pressure, but sometimes I like to drive with the windows open. I'm very satisfied with Eargo.

I figured out in the last couple of days a different way to put it in. It doesn't set in as nice as my left ear does, but it seems to be working good now.
My wife did the research when we chose Eargo. If I had to pay thousands of dollars, right now, in our budget, I couldn't do it but with tax and everything, it was 2,700. My experience with Eargo so far has been nothing but fantastic. I have selective hearing. I had my hearing tested and I have a very slight loss when it comes to female voices and certain letter combinations. I saw some information about Eargo and I did due diligence. Their product sounded like a wonderful thing and so I bought it.
Their customer service has been outstanding. I had a problem with the right earbud and they told me to send them the whole thing and they would give me a new one. They also extended my time to return the earbuds. A customer gets 45 days, and they extended it to a couple of weeks. Not that I have any intent of returning the items, but it’s awfully nice that they’re accommodating. I don’t really wear the earbuds that much, and I save them for when I’m in a group of people. But based on what I’m hearing, I put them on and it’s fine. It’s an honest product that’s priced fairly. Eargo does a good job. They do what you would expect any reputable, good company to do which, to me, is very hard to find. You get really good customer service and a product that works and it’s honest. They’re fabulous.

I like that you can't see the Eargo hearing aids. A lot of my friends at my age say, "You got hearing aids?" If you don't pull it out and show them one, they'll never know, which is a definite plus for Eargo. I also like that it's rechargeable and easy to use. The price is important, too. I have the Eargo Max which is the middle type. The bottom one had too much noise. The newest one is the Neo and though I'm a tech guy, I don't want another app and I don't feel the need to adjust it that much. The Neo seems to be too much.
The first person that I spoke to was Corina. She sent me the empty ones for sizing. The follow up by Eargo is tremendous. They had the follow-up call for the audiologist to answer any questions. I did end up sending the right one back though. We tried everything. She had me changing tips and changing the wax filter, but there was something with it.
It's my first hearing aid and so far, it works. You'll notice the difference. The first time that you put them in and you hear running water or you pick up a potato chip bag and crackle it, you'll go, "What was that?" It's that learning experience of retraining your brain a little bit. But I'm loving my Eargo hearing aid. I can hear better with it and I'm having a good time with it. It's great for TV. You don't have to put your TV volume on nuclear anymore. It's also great when you're in a restaurant trying to see what the person across the table is saying without reading their lips. I went on a Disney cruise a couple of weeks ago, and a couple from Wisconsin learned about my hearing aids. Next thing I know, they contacted me. I turned them on to Corina and they bought them.
Eargo has done a great job of having two-minute videos to make sure you're taking care of them. I got an email a couple of days ago saying they wanna make sure I'm cleaning the wax out of my ears but they're doing it in a way that people don't feel offended. Eargo is doing a real good job of not only the marketing but also trying to get through the people that probably have said no to hearing aids.
I've already recommended 3 people to Eargo. I told my neighbor across the street to get the free one so she could see if it would fit, and it didn't. She has such small ear canals. It's a learning curve to know who can get it and who can't. There are a lot of people out there that really would like to have it. The fact that the law changed where you don't have to go through an audiologist to get beat up and hit over the head with the price is a major point. But Eargo could have something that is not $5,000 to $6,000 and put it where people can afford it and make it easy to use.

After a lot of research, I decided to purchase Eargo Plus aids in December 2017. They are packaged well and were comfortable to wear. They greatly improved my hearing. However, problems began quickly. Within three months, the right aid had a very low volume. Still under warranty, so cross shipped for a replacement unit. Few months later, left unit had the same problem. Again, replaced under warranty. Each aid failed two more times within the warranty period and were replaced. Charger failed and was replaced under warranty once.
Right aid failed just after warranty expired. $399 quoted to replace it. Didn't have money and elected to only use the left aid. 16 months after purchase (4 months after warranty expiration), the left aid failed. $399 quoted to replace. I was very meticulous about cleaning them and charging them and changing the wax guards, etc. Here are my concerns:
- Were the original aids I received even new units? Or, were they refurbished?- Is Eargo's business model to make income from purchasers through repairs?
- While the initial purchase price is attractive, if they only last a year, they are quite expensive.
- My daughter wears over the ear hearing aids; her aids last her for 6 to 7 years!
I read a couple of reviews like mine above before I purchased them. Now, I wish I had heeded them. I thought I was smarter than these other Eargo purchasers. Buyer beware! They do not last.

I had hearing aids before I contacted Eargo but I wasn't completely satisfied with those. Eargo's reps bent over backwards to help me and make sure that I was satisfied. I then got their Plus hearing aids because they set into the ear and didn't block, whereas with the other hearing aids, I could hear myself more than I could hear other people. Having Eargo now, I can hear better and I don't get the feedback that I did with my other ones. It's a good product. I also like the idea of being able to charge them rather than to put batteries on them all the time. Plus, it's about 1,500 cheaper than my other hearing aids.
We've nixed batteries in favor of a more modern way to power up: with a USB cord and charger, just like your smartphone. Thank you for sharing your excellent Eargo experience, Ronald.

My husband read about Eargo and it seemed like an easier approach than having to go through a doctor's office, which I had done before, and I didn't like the product. The Eargo was smaller and it has no batteries. Its quality is totally worth the cost, too. The only thing is that they kept slipping out a little bit, but they didn't ever fall out and they didn't stay logged in. The second pair I tried stayed in a little better. It has a shorter body to it. I would've kept them if they would've worked.
I have a weird sort of hearing loss, a cookie bite hearing loss, which is really different than most of the people that get Eargos. The audiologist from Eargo was kind enough to try lots of different settings on one pair, and she sent me another pair to try. And then, when I finally sent her my audiology report from a few years ago, she understood why it wasn't working. She was honest and service-minded enough to let me know these aren't really designed for that kind of hearing loss and to try Costco, which I did. I think extremely highly of Eargo because of their integrity. They refunded everything on the products that I tried. The service was outstanding from the beginning to end. I just unfortunately couldn't use it.

I love Eargo. Before contacting them, it has been eight years of frustration from my partial hearing loss. I have had three audiologist and hearing aids made by another company. I saw Eargo's ad on the tennis channel and they looked like they might work. I had a device similar that goes all the way into the ear canal once before, but I couldn't stand it because I could hear myself chew. This Eargo was designed with these little feathers on the sides, not solid, and I thought maybe that would get rid of the chewing noise, and I don't hear myself chew.
Eargo is a good product for a good price, and it's a lot better than what I had, which were more expensive. The hearing aids has a nice feature such that they can be lowered when you're in a crowded, noisy environment, and they can be bumped up to level four when you're at a lecture. I still sit in the front row wherever I go so that I have my best possible chance, but I'm doing better than I've ever done. The other nice thing about the hearing aids is that when you take them off at night, you put them in your little case then attach the case to the wire and it's plugged in. When you wake up in the morning, they're all charged up and you just pop them back in.
Eargo also send out regular emails and remind me to clean the hearing aids, which I don't need to be reminded of since I'm a veteran. But I really applaud their instructional videos. They're very thorough and quite careful. There's no one in our area who services Eargo, though. And I have asked them several times about a couple of things, like if I can charge these in the car with a 12-volt charger, and they weren't able to give me definite answers. But that's okay. I can hear a lot better than I used to and that's worth a lot. My husband doesn't ask me to quit asking him the same question all the time. When you can't hear, you're always going, "What? What? What?" and that drove him nuts. So, he's much happier now. I've already recommended Eargo to a friend and I recommend them to everyone I know who wears hearing aids.
We love this comment. Happy hearing, Lloyd!

I first chose Nano because they were cheap, but they were not worth what the little bit that we paid for them. We ended up sending them back because they were so horrible. I saw Eargo and it just sounded so right, because it’s like my husband could get air around the little filament in there and it’s a whole different ball game. He didn’t hear a lot of sounds. We could not carry on a conversation. He basically lives in a silent world and was not himself. He’s a new person since he started using the Eargo.
The team at Eargo is wonderful. They have been very knowledgeable and very patient. They’ve asked all the right questions. We’re very happy with them. When they called after he got his hearing aids, they asked us, and then they asked if we had questions which we didn’t because they covered it so thoroughly. When he had the Nano, he hated wearing them. But he puts his Eargo in first thing every morning and takes them out last thing every night. He has to use the Bluetooth with his work so he just wears one hearing aid while he’s at work. We wish they were smartphone compatible but we love them. As soon as we get those paid off, I’m gonna get some.

I have moderate hearing loss. I was unhappy with the fit of the first hearing aid that I tried. I chose Eargo as my second and it made very little improvement for me. I chose the Eargo hearing aid model based on the conversations I had with Eargo and the recommendations. It seemed like it would fit for me. But one of the things that the hearing-aid industry has convinced people about is that hearing aids are gonna help with tinnitus and I believe it's a line of ** just to sell hearing aids because the explanation they give is nonsensical. Over the period of time that I've worn them a couple months, trying to figure out if it is gonna make a difference to me, it has done absolutely nothing. Funny enough, I talked to a buddy of mine who has had hearing aids for 20 years and his tinnitus has not changed one bit.
The major problem that I have is the tinnitus and my ear, nose, and throat doctor told me to look in the hearing aids. I looked at it simply. The addition of the hearing aid neither adds nor subtracts from my life. My wife and I don't think it increased my hearing enough to make a darn bit of difference. I put myself in a crowded room or in some certain environments like driving in my car, and the background noise is so loud. I couldn't even participate in the conversation in the car or in a crowded room. And so, with all the negatives associated with it, it was not even worth it.
Also, once you take the hearing aids out, inevitably, you're gonna lose one. They're so small. What I loved about them is they were nice and they fit good. But once you take them out, you put them in your pocket, then you're just asking to drop $500 on the street somewhere. Other than that, everybody at Eargo was fine. I was surprised when I said I was unhappy and then I wanted to send the hearing aids back. They were absolutely kind about sending them back immediately, so I just did.
Thank you for trying Eargo, Randy. We hear you when it comes to tinnitus. For those reading who have similar questions, please know our comfortable, nearly-invisible device was designed for adults experiencing mild to moderate, high-frequency hearing loss and we cannot offer assurance it will provide relief from tinnitus. I could hear things but it's not real good. When I would go with my boys, we would be sitting beside each other and they would hear something and I wouldn't. The first hearing aid company I went to was a mom-and-pop type of operation. They got two hearing aids at $1,500 each. Then I went to Miracle-Ear for a better product. They were expensive. Then they went to a modern one. I got those and I lost one. I had to buy the other one, and I was a little upset 'cause I spent $6,000 for those two. I had to get a loan to do that. So I started checking out different products in the magazines, and I got the ones that were battery type. You just charge them in but they were kinda huge. All of them were the type that you fit over your ear and that's why I lost one and have all kinds of trouble with them.
There was an Eargo ad on the TV that my wife and I were looking at. I said, "Let me just call to see how are these going or how much." When I called Eargo, I got a guy who was very helpful. I'm not a computer person, but he worked with me on the phone, and we got that done. I was going broke on buying hearing aids but I was surprised with the cost. I thought maybe they're gonna be not as expensive as Miracle-Ear, which they're not, but still a price where I have to have finance help. I didn't have the cash to pay for them. But to get the deal done, I went for 12 payments with no interest.
The first thing I like is it's not hanging over my ear. I got them last month and I do notice a better hearing. I'm still trying to get used to them 'cause like today, I found that my left ear, I don't think I was putting them in right because it was sticking out. Now, my left ear is in real good, but I still can't push my right ear in. There are a couple of things I don't know. I still don't know if I'm doing something right. Sometimes, when I put the hearing aid into the case, red lights come on and I get scared. So I take it out and I wait for a few minutes then I put it back in. Then it will start looking for the program that I have it in. I just don't know what that means and what I'm doing wrong when the red lights come on.
The other thing is the other day, I was driving. With the other hearing aids over here, you can't drive with the window down. I heard my left ear change program. The only thing I can think of was it was the wind that changed the program. I'm still figuring them out but I love my Eargo hearing aids. I haven't received anything to make a payment and I'm getting a little nervous but it hasn't been quite a whole month yet.

I had a significant hearing loss in my right ear and a mild to moderate hearing loss in my left ear. I’ve tried a hearing aid company that I had tried different models with me, the behind-the-ear which I absolutely despised. I had seen advertisements online for Eargo and the award that they had won. So, I started up by getting the non-functional pair of the original. When the time became right for me to monetarily afford them, I bought them and I’m extremely happy. I’ve noticed the big difference in my hearing. I went with the Eargo Neo for a couple of reasons. I’m a retired military so they gave me a discount. That was very nice. And I thought it would probably be in my best interest to get whatever is the newest model if I’m gonna spend the money.
The Eargo Neo is excellent. They’re working perfectly fine. The only thing which I wouldn’t even call a complaint is they don’t seem to hold a charge. I thought that they would be more charged throughout the day and hold out longer than they currently do. I would put them back in the little cradle, let them charge while I’m sleeping at night so when I get up, they got the four little dots on the charging cradle so that they’re fully charged. But in spite of being Eastern Time and I put them back in the cradle, they are only halfway charged. I would suggest a little bit longer battery life but maybe it’s just me getting used to them.
The only drawback that I have is this talking on the phone in my office. If I get the phone too close to my left ear, my hearing aid whistles a little bit. There are some people where I worked who are leaving the company, and I was going around and was saying goodbye to these people and a couple of the women that I wanted to say goodbye to or need to give them hugs. When they put their arms around me to hug me, one of the hearing aids whistled really loud. They asked what that was and I told them that was my hearing aid whistling. I almost attributed it to the fact that there was air pressure changing because of the contact near my ear which is similar to me tapping on my ear to change the level.
But other than that, I do a program 1 in the left ear and a program 2 in the right ear, and I don’t experience that ringing in my ear like I used to. I don’t notice it as much because I’m hearing better. Also, customer service has been awesome. I got a phone call from my ear professional and we discussed the usage of them after I received them, the functionality, and all the little different things that I needed to know.
It’s a very good deal for what I pay compared to other models that I’ve seen. My younger brother just got hearing aids, too, and he’s got a different model. I tried to get him to go with Eargo, and he’s like, “Well, I’ve already got mine.” I’m like, “So, take them back. Try these and you’ll see that there’s a difference.” I used to listen to music in my car at a certain volume level, and now I don’t have to listen to it that loud anymore. In fact, I found the setting not exactly that I need to have them set on based on my hearing loss so that I can sort of hear the same thing in both ears.
Thank you for your service, Sheldon. We're happy you're hearing every moment with Eargo Neo!

I had ordered a sample from Eargo before. They had sent me the sample but it was just the ones that went into ear. There was no electric thing with them. I tried them but later on, I went and got the ones behind the ear. I didn't like them 'cause I want the ones in the ear and I had to use them in a battery. I had tried Eargo before and thought I'd go ahead and get them. The customer service team at Eargo has been wonderful. They were courteous, asked some more questions and kept checking up on me. Eargo works for us. I can hear my preacher and my son's school teacher better. To anybody that needs hearing aids, get Eargo 'cause what I found out is they're the best. It's worth spending your money on.

Initially my Eargo hearing aids was good. But within the first week, one of the hearing aids broke. Also if there’s a crowd and background talking, I can’t hear well with the hearing aids. I have the volume of the TV high. But Eargo was very responsive to my needs. Glenn was very informative. He was the first person that I dealt with and I was happy with the way he dealt with me. Other than that, also Jim, who they transferred me to when I had the problem, was willing to give me, free of charge, an upgrade. But like my wife and I discussed, what’s the value of that? If the system broke in the first week, what reliability would I have? So that’s why we decided to send it back. $1,700 was a lot of money, but it turned out that it was worthwhile at that point. Eargo is not bad, just make sure that the product works because I’m not happy with the product itself.

I bought the Eargo Plus almost a year ago. The ear fibers were too small and they only make two sizes. I called and asked for a larger size and was told, "Sorry. That's all we have". Then they came out with the new flat fibers. I called again and asked for a set of those, and again, "Sorry. They only come with the new Eargo". Come on. I buy a $2,000 set of hearing aids and they can't sent me 25 cents worth of flat fibers. I cannot wear them, they fall out of my ear and they are worthless, just like their service department.

The Eargo hearing aids is invisible. I got the best one they had and so far, so good. Once I talked to audiologist and she told me how to adjust those hearing inserts, it made a big difference. Renee was excellent. She didn't hurry and was on point. She sent me the stuff that I needed as far as online and gave me great ideas on how to make them fit. I've got a very small canal in the left ear and that was becoming very problematic with that left one. And she pretty much tried to help me solve that problem. The hearing aid is pricey, but the quality of the product is very high. It brings in conversations better. And I hear better what's around me.

I have a mild to moderate hearing loss and I experience difficulty in noisy environments or conversations. The Neo was the latest and greatest of a rapidly evolving technology, and I saw a Youtube video where someone was happy with it. The device is small and purchasing it is quite simple. The reps were great in every dimension. They were easy to get a hold of, helpful, responsive, and cheerful. They were also detailed like a lot of videos I watched online before I bought the device. I talked to an audiologist and she was extraordinarily knowledgeable.
I like my Neo a lot. They’re $2,500 and that makes me stop and think a bit, but being able to hear is really important. They solved my problem. I don’t have any difficulty like I did before and I don’t notice that my hearing is any different than anybody else’s. I notice other people that don’t seem to be able to hear as well. If my device lasts two or three years, I’d be very happy.

I just wanted to try them out because they had a 45-day return policy. I wanted to get the best one they had and used the Eargo Neo. It functions well. The only problem I have is my left hearing aids as I’m not able to get it in perfect. The right one goes in all the way perfect with no problem. I’ve talked to their people four times, we’ve tried different things, and no one was able to tell me how to get it in all the way. I'm a male in my 50’s and my hearing was deteriorating especially in the higher frequencies. I came across Eargo and it was really a big improvement to hear those mid frequencies and higher frequencies again. The service that I got, especially from my audiologist, Jen, was exceptional. She was terrific. One of the main reasons that I got the hearing aid was the invisibility or near invisibility. I always thought that a hearing aid is something that you wear behind the ears and something that is visible, and that’s still some kind of the stigma. That was a big improvement for me. The other thing was even though they're in the ear, they do not have the problem of occlusion because they are so small. I was able to still hear the lower frequencies in the natural way as the sound would just travel easily along the Eargo devices and reach the hearing. They're extremely light, so you barely notice it.
Eventually, I ended up returning them because I had another kind of trauma with one of my ears. I had to go and upgrade to a more high-grade device and what that gave me as an additional benefit was the higher frequencies. So, if I can name one disadvantage on the Eargo hearing aid, it was that the very high frequencies or at least the frequencies above 3,000 to 4,000 hertz were a little bit lost. But otherwise, I would have been very happy with it. I would recommend Eargo.

I have had my Eargos for about eight months. I’ve had two other hearing aid brands, and Eargo are the most comfortable. All in all despite some problems, i. e., changing the wax guards, I’ve liked them, until my charger stopped working. They started holding a charge for less time and then this morning the charger stays on red. It won’t charge and the hearing aids won’t charge. I’m pretty disappointed.

The experience with Eargo is 100% positive. Prior to trying Eargo, I had had hearing aids which I didn’t like. I would never wear them. They were very uncomfortable and everything is muted. I had the ones that used to sit behind the ear with the wire that went in. I didn’t like the way they looked. I felt old. I couldn’t wear my glasses with them without the glasses falling off. Then I saw an ad for the Eargo hearing aids. They sent me the sample and I thought they were worth a shot 'cause I hadn’t seen anything else that was really hidden. You don’t even notice that you have them. So, that’s my reason for going with Eargo. The fact that their sales team was as wonderful as they were was also a big key in going with them. I didn't work with anybody that was nasty, not a soul. Everybody was perfect. They called back.
I went for the highest style as I usually go right to the top 9 times out of 10. After speaking with the sales reps, they said if I wasn’t satisfied with them, I’d just call if I wanted to go down. I could always go down and they would reduce the cost accordingly. I also had no problem with the cost at all. With Eargo, everything is perfectly clear. It’s a wonderful experience. I'm comfortable wearing them enough that a lot of times I forget I actually have them in before I go to bed and I gotta take them out. I don’t even realize that I have them in half the time. I'm 100% satisfied. Eargo is the best and I’ve already recommended them to others.

I'm still working but then for certain people's voices as well as the high-pitched voices of the two granddaughters that I'm raising at home, I'm having trouble understanding those. Previously, I bought a set of magnetic hearing aids and I wasn't very pleased with them. When I would get into a situation where I needed to hear, I would put them on, but the sound was so distorted. With my Eargo Neo hearing aids, I put them in and I haven't looked back since. I've never bought anything that I was much morel pleased with. I'm an online shopper, and I stopped for Eargo's advertisement. It just seemed wonderful. I wanted a chargeable and small one with no wires outside the ear. I thought I’d love the Eargo hearing aids, and I loved everything about them. They are the most ingenious things I've ever seen. I even loved the little note pad or the little booklet that they sent. The service provided by the team was super. It was better than any product I've ever purchased. They were so nice and so helpful. I live in an assisted living place and I've told everybody about them. The hearing aids were a wonderful bargain, too. People in here have paid as much as $7,000 for their hearing aids.
Unfortunately, they wouldn’t go in far enough in my ear. I have a very small ear canal. I called and we tried to tear every other little layer off to make them fit. I tried everything and we just couldn’t make them fit. So, I called and asked about the return policy and the rep was so very nice. I couldn’t believe how accommodating he was. He said he'd give me a deal on the Neos which were about the same size. I told him I wouldn’t put him through that trouble. Unless they had a sample to show me that I could fit them, I wouldn’t want them to lose more money on me. He said they'd send me a packet and I'd just put the hearing aids back in.
Just the way he told me, he sent me the envelope and the hearing aids are on their way back to them. I had told them that I had a problem with small ear canals and it would be wise for Eargo to send a test pair 'cause it costs them money now to take those back. I felt terrible having to send them back. They’re wonderful and I wish I could wear them. I'm sad that I can’t use them.

I read all of Eargo's materials online and watched all their videos, even how to clean them. I also looked at some of their customer responses and made my decision. I looked at some others that were cheaper, but I liked the way the Eargo system was set up. Plus I could use them on my insurance, whereas with the others, I could not. While I was getting the hearing aids fitted, I had to try a couple of different ends. My wife was fine but with me, it took some different ones so they would fit properly. Their service was outstanding. I got the Neo as I like the smallness of it, and it seemed easy to take care of. I’d always had the kind that fit on the back of the ear, but they get in the way of my glasses. I just ordered the earbuds a day ago and they’re already here today. Now we can hear better. You can’t see them and they fit comfortably. Plus they don’t rub your ears.
The only thing I wish Eargo had was Bluetooth capability so that if a phone call came in, it would go immediately to my hearing aid. Or even if I wanted to listen to music, it would go straight to my hearing aids. I also wish I'm able to use my phone instead of snapping my ear. It doesn’t bother me, but I also know that there are a lot of people that don’t want others knowing they’ve got hearing aids, or they don’t want others looking at them. If it was Bluetooth capable, you could just go to level two or three. Or if you’re riding in your car and the phone rings, you could talk directly to your hearing aids ‘cause your phone will pick it up easy.

The rep whom I worked with was very cordial and knowledgeable. She called me back two or three days after I made the first inquiry and told me that she had two problems getting the samples that they were gonna send me. She said that there was a backorder. Still, she answered my questions beautifully. I got an Eargo Neo and I found them to be well-engineered. The functionality and performance of the hearing aid have been very good. Hearing loss is something that creeps up on you and you never really realize how bad it is until you have it restored. I do annual hearing audiograms because of the job I have and this year, they told me I had a significant shift in my right ear. My family had been telling me for some time that I needed to get hearing aids. I didn’t want something that was attached to the outside of my head, and I saw that Eargo’s went to your canal. I contacted them, brought up the sample and looked at it, then I ordered them and I picked them up.
I got the Eargo Neo and it's very comfortable, though it took a while to get used to them ‘cause you got something plugged in your ear. I'm using the ones that it came with, and the only issue is that when I'm eating, the hearing aids will work their way out ‘cause of the movement in my ear. Other than that, it's no biggie. I don’t have to have the hearing aids turned up as loud now as I did when I first got them. When I first got them, I had the right side up to two and the left side up to three. Now, I keep the right side at one and the left side at two, and sometimes I run the left to three ‘cause my left side is always the one that had the most significant hearing loss.
The customer service rep contacted me regularly during the first week or two and was asking and suggesting things. One of the things I noticed was that I would get feedback if I would cough, and she told me to pull them out a little bit. I did that and it worked. She also said that when you first put this in, you're gonna notice things that you hadn’t heard in some time, and she was right. Eargo is worth it and I'm pretty happy with them. I have recommended them to people.

I've had the Eargos now for about 50 days and my hearing is improved. I had other hearing aids before but they bothered me. They were over the ear hearing aids. Every time that I put my reading glasses on and took them off, I would get a screeching sound, and I do that about 100 times a day. They were also uncomfortable so I didn't like them. But if I didn't wear my hearing aids in a courtroom, I couldn't hear a damn thing because most of them are large noises. That was why I put up with my other hearing aids. The biggest difference with Eargo is that there's no noise if I put my glasses on or off. They seem to be quite convenient too. I can wear them three times as long as I can wear my other aids.
The cost of them is also reasonable, particularly in comparison to my old hearing aids which were twice as much, and as long as they hold up, I don't have any problems. I've even referred one or two people and they also have the hearing aids now. There are lots of us who have lousy hearing because we're old. Some have had bad experiences with other hearing devices and others realize they need to have some amplification of some kind. The customer service reps at Eargo have been great as well. They've been very pleasant and businesslike. I've talked to Kathleen a couple of times and she's a great listener. She has offered a couple of things that I think are gonna be helpful. I was also getting a little bit of feedback so she set a little change to the hearing aids themselves and I'm not getting as much feedback now. So that's a good thing.

I chose Eargo for several reasons - one was you can’t see them, one was the price point was right, one was the soft touch of the sales people. When they started contacting me, I told them I was not quite ready to make a decision. They left me alone for a month. They just called me enough to remind me. They didn’t try to hard sell me, and I like that.
I went with the Eargo Neo which is the new one and I'm still trying to get used to them. The problem is they’re so comfortable. I walked into the shower twice this week with them on, and I had to call for backup to grab my hearing aids from me while I was standing there in the shower. Sometimes, I can’t even tell that they’re in and working, and they always are. But I’m getting fairly acclimated to them.
What I’m really happy with is the hours of life that it gives you on a full charge. Getting 15 hours on a full charge is so much better than what you can get with a Bluetooth component like an iPhone earbuds. It’s a different product with a different technology, but with the iPhone stuff, you gotta recharge them every three or four hours, and I thought that’s how the Eargos were. When it went all day long working, I was totally impressed.
This proves what we've always said, Burt: Our hearing aids are so comfortable, you may forget you're wearing them. We certainly wouldn't recommend wearing them in the shower, as our devices are not waterproof. I had difficulty in crowds, low talking people, and female voices. The background noise interfered. I went with Eargo's Neo. It is the newest and the best technology within Eargo. It may even be the best technology out there. It is smaller and longer charged. I like the engineering and the idea of not amplifying lower frequency sounds and letting them pass through passively. However, the prices of Eargo hearing aids aren't cheap. 2,500 bucks is still a lot of money, but when I talk to people, there is quite a difference.
I asked how long I would expect the hearing aid to last and work efficiently when I was talking with a hearing specialist and she was very straightforward and honest. They have been very helpful. They could've said, "Well, they'll last as long as you take care of them." But the rep was realistic and said three to four years and I am gonna want another set then. They were very well-educated, well informed and very pleasant.
The Eargo hearing aids certainly make it easier to hear things. My wife and my friends that spend time in my house say, "I didn't know the TV was on. Usually, the TV is so loud." I don't play it as loud as I did. My hearing has increased very dramatically. There was a sizzle or a metallic sound at first, but as I wear the hearing aids, my brain adjusts to it. One of the things I noticed when I first put them in everyday, everything sounds kinda tinny. But after an hour or so it goes. I thought the battery was running down, but the audiology specialist said that she has been wearing hearing aids since she was young and she said it still occurs with her. She adjusts so much quicker now. For her, it is a matter of minutes. She said, "Just keep wearing them and eventually, that time period just gets shorter and shorter." She was very supportive.
I'd say others should look at Eargo if they need hearing aids. A friend of mine got hearing aids last year and he got them through regular people and audiology. He paid around 7,000 for his hearing aids, but when he saw mine, he said, "I thought mine were cutting edge. Yours is so small. People don't even know you're wearing them, unless you point it out.” I recommend Eargo. It would be a mistake if others didn't at least give them a shot.

Eargo's price swayed me into them and I have had the hearing aids for three weeks. The product works really well although I had one day where the right hearing aid did not charge overnight. I just recharged it and it's been working fine ever since. Yesterday, my left hearing aid was clicking on and off so I took it out. Again, I recharged it overnight and it has been working fine so far. I am a little worried about the quality and I hope they are gonna hold up. It is concerning as I'm having a couple of charging issues.
Furthermore, since I do some activities, I don't wanna have the hearing aids in and there's no good place to put them. I took one of mine out at one point when I was driving and set it on the console of my car and then it got lost. Luckily, I found it. So, it would be nice to have a carrying case where I can put them that's secure and that I could take with me during the day. That aside, Eargo’s hearing aid is of good value. I am hoping to get two to three years out of them and for what I paid for them, I'll consider it a win.

I had rigid hearing loss and it affected my ability to work and communicate at home. I've been married 40 years. It's not the time to start trying to break things up. But I never wore a hearing aid before and I did not wanna wear the ones that hang on the outside that make me look 90 years old. I called Eargo and the people were kind and really nice. They responded almost right away. They did not miss a phone call and they did not push me off. I got everything that I asked for, meeting within a timely manner, and we conducted business. I also received the product within a timely manner.
They advertised that I would have contact with the website though, and then it would have an app. I was under the impression the device would be adjustable on the app. But when I got to talking to the people, the app hasn't been developed yet and they weren’t quite sure what it was gonna do. That was the only thing that was a little aggravating. But the people didn’t lie to me to entice me and I made the decision myself to go ahead and give this thing a try. The 45-day trial was a nice enticement too.
I got it and when they called me and asked me how I was doing, I said I was fine. I'm pretty much a technician by trade so I figured everything out, including how to use it. You should also take care of the earpiece as a piece of machinery, which is what I'm used to doing anyway, so it's worked out really well. I like them a lot. This is really dangerous with the shower though. I've almost taken a shower three times with them. They fit so I don't know that they're in there, whereas although I'm not experienced with the outside piece, I would feel that all the time. So with these Eargo ones, I have to develop a routine and make sure I take them out. I have to be mindful that they're in the ear.
The only thing that’s really different about this is the adjustment of the volume. There are only four steps for the volume and you just slap in your ears. But that looks a little strange that people aren't getting much use of it. Other than that, I'm a little scared about the 3,000 miles then you throw them away but I'm gonna run it down the road to see how it goes. They've also told me that the app is almost there. I just want them to get it up and running. Nonetheless, I hear everything now. My wife’s favorite thing to yell is, “Do you have the ears on?” I would tell her I'm getting them then I put the ears in and we can have a conversation. I also can't see myself working without them now. I hear everything that’s going on and I hear when people are calling my name even in the shop when it's really busy.
We're happy you're hearing every moment with Eargo, Joseph. Happy hearing!

I lost about two bars of upper register hearing below the normal level about 10 years ago because I got a very bad sinus infection. I had to take a lot of antibiotics for several months. It's been stable since then. I have trouble hearing my husband sometimes because he has a very soft voice. I noticed at Christmas time that I was having trouble understanding children who are visiting us for Christmas. Their high-pitched voices were really hard for me to articulate the content. So, I went on a search for a hearing aid, and Eargos was recommended by a friend.
It's not pleasant to have to be wearing these things, but on the other hand, I can hear my husband. I don't have to ask him to repeat everything and I'm assuming when I'm around children at the next holiday, it'll be a little easier too. They squeak a little bit when I answer the phone, but I don't know if that can be heard on the other end. When I take them off, I put them in the charger, and then I put them on in the morning. I have trouble getting them in my ear canal, and then my ear tends to expel them. But even with that difficulty, I still wanna keep them.
I chose this because they were less expensive and because it was something that did not go behind my ear, but in my ear. I love the design. They're just visually beautiful, the case, the packaging. Also, the staff is fabulous. They call me regularly and they send me stuff. I was happy with the salesperson and I'm very happy with the audiologist. I've had a wonderful experience with them so far. This is a wonderful product and I'm doing fine with it.

I've had severe hearing loss since I was 18. I saw Eargo on TV and their hearing aid looked great. It's invisible, rechargeable and fits my needs. With the style of hearing aid that I got from them, I came in at $1,500. That was the model that Eargo sent me and I just went with it. My hearing aid was wonderful and I loved it. I could hear things that I hadn't heard in 40 years.
But in three weeks with my hearing aid, I've been having problems with it and I don't want it. The left ear of the hearing aid went dead within a very short time in a three-day period. It was very annoying to have one ear working, while the other one was not. It was as if I had an earplug in. I had nowhere to put the hearing aid because there was nothing to put it in, so I had to keep it in my ear so I wouldn't destroy it.
I charged the hearing aid. The first time, it lasted six hours and then it went out. The second time, it was three hours. I wouldn't go wearing the hearing aid, but my wife told me to try it again. I put it in when I was going to work. But I had just gotten out the door for 15 minutes and it was dead, so I said, "To hell with it." If I'm gonna have problems like that with my hearing aid, I'm not gonna end up paying for it. I got it insured to send it back and forth and now my hearing aid was in transit all the time. I don't wanna do that. I've already made arrangements to send the hearing aid back and I'll be able to get full credit. I'm done with Eargo. For the money that we're talking about, I want something to work.

My hearing loss was bad and I couldn’t understand anybody in a crowd at all. The hearing loss is on both ears, but my left ear was worse than the right. I looked online and did some research. From what I read Eargo sounded very interesting so I tried them out. Their reps were great. Their customer service was the best that I've dealt with for a long time. I got the in-ear style hearing aid and it was a third-level one. In terms of price, there was not much difference between three and four. I might have gone with a four-level, but three would be plenty for what I had. The Eargo hearing aid made an unbelievable difference in my life and I love this thing. My hearing is 100% better than what it was and I can understand people. I had to switch to the more amplified piece that goes on it because some people talk softly and that’s hard for me to hear. But with that new amplified tip on there, it works really well.

I couldn't hear if there are any background noises and female voices are soft and I had difficulty hearing them. I saw Eargo on the internet and looked at consumer reviews. I bought my first hearing aid from them a year ago. I used them and I loved them. But I left them in a hotel one night and when I realized, I called back and they were gone. I called Eargo to rebound and I bought another pair and they suggested going with the Max. I bought the Max and I like them really well.
The interaction with the customer service team was excellent. I like the style of the hearing aids because they're almost invisible. You get a good look and it's so easy to adjust the volume. When I first started wearing them, I had trouble. It always felt like I was gonna lose one of them around my ear. I've never experienced that. I had to get over that feeling. That’s really the only issue I've ever had. Listening to other people who've had hearing aids, it seemed like they’ve gone through a lot of styles and brands but overall, I've been satisfied with Eargo.

I worked as a bartender and had problems hearing if there were crowds and loud noises. My wife was always complaining too as the TV had to be turned up a little bit too high. I had read about different hearing aid companies and Eargo seemed the one that was the most advanced. My hearing was not that traumatic where I figured that I had to go for the top-of-the-line. Eargo's reps were prompt and great. I got from them the basic hearing aid model, and this one seems to be doing the trick. It works out great and the nicest part about it is that it's undetectable. It's also comfortable. Once it's in, I forget about it. I'd recommend it to anybody.

I received an email from a Eargo hearing aid representative. My business as a business builder and coach and public speaker I need good clear hearing. I have been pleading with Eargo to address the fact that the Eargo Max I bought the batteries in the hearing aids will not stay charged a full day and they either need to be replaced, as I have had them a week and a half or so. I called them yesterday and the lady said yes they know I have an issue but they want me to buy a more expensive pair. Is this like bait and switch. She assured me I would hear from a manager today. It is almost 5:30 PM. They put people on the phone who cannot make a decision and when promised a manager to handle defective equipment they don't have the professionalism to keep a commitment. I have three speaking engagements next week, which I told them and they do not care I have to cancel these because of new defective equipment.

I've told other folks, Eargo has gotten me back into the conversation. And while Eargo is not cheap, it is less expensive in comparison to others. The quality is high as well. I selected this brand over other companies based on a review in a magazine that I respected and because they had a return policy. I felt comfortable talking to the sales rep and getting information from the company. It was completely no pressure. I first purchased the Plus, and now, I have the Neos. Both products are absolutely terrific. It's a life changer. I went with the only one they had at the time, which is in-the-ear. When I wear them, it's like not wearing them at all after they're in for a few minutes.

My man had partial hearing loss and when he got Eargo hearing aids, it helped him a lot. Our communication was so much better because I could stand back probably 10-foot from him and I could talk to him and he would know what I would be talking about. I ordered the hearing aids from Eargo’s website and navigating through it was good. He opted a hearing aid that goes inside the canal but he had a bit of difficulty keeping it there. The issue was getting it pushed into the ear that they would stay and if he moved around a bit, it would kinda come down. It could be due to the sizing. However, he just passed a couple of weeks ago. I have the hearing aids in the box and I could probably start using them when needed.

My hearing loss was partial. I had no trouble on the phone or with people. But I've had a test with an audiologist and discovered that the part of my hearing that is not there is the very high pitches. Apparently that's what this Eargo product is really good at so it was a good step. I chose Eargo because of their website, advertisement, feedback and response. Their customer service is very good. They have all the answers and are very good at explaining what the product is. I realized the product is not a hearing aid. But it has all the things I want. It's rechargeable and it's concealed. Unfortunately, really good hearing aids are not there yet. So we're waiting for that to evolve. In-ear hearing aids are not rechargeable. You have to deal with a battery thing. If you wear a behind-the-ear kind of box, those are rechargeable. So the technology that Eargo has is cutting edge.
I spoke to their audiologist a couple of times about minor things and differences between different models that Eargo has. I started with a Plus and then I went to the Neo, and that's another thing. Two weeks after I had bought the Plus, they came out with an upgrade and they were nice enough to take my original set back, send me the upgrade and let me pay the difference in the price. But they're expensive. I'm sure there's a lot of R&D that went into them and there is a lot of behind the scenes cost. But it's $2,500 for amplifiers and they are not even really hearing aids. That's a lot when you think that for about twice the price, you can get a real hearing aid.
It is not a substitute for a hearing aid. It's a bridge between nothing and the hearing aid. I'm sure that as the years go by and my body gets older, I'm gonna actually need a real hearing aid. But it works for me at this particular point. I can listen to the TV at a lower volume now. I'm not saying "What?" to everybody all the time. My good friends know the difference when I'm wearing them and when I'm not. Also, having used the Plus also for a couple of weeks, I can say the Neo seems to be a little more responsive. It has a little better amplification. Also, if I lose these or if these break, I don't have to pay the $2,500 to get a new pair. Eargo will sell me a new pair because I'm a previous customer for a reduced rate. I think it's around $350. They make everything easy for the consumer.

My Eargo hearing aids are wonderful. They have really made a difference. My hearing loss was mild to moderate. I didn't have so much trouble hearing people talk but I would frequently misunderstand the words. When someone would say "tree", I would think they said "three". Then when my husband would say something, I wouldn't hear all of that because one of his diseases causes him to be hoarse. I wouldn't hear it because it wouldn't be loud and clear enough.
After I started to wear the hearing aids, I realized how much more clearly I was hearing than I had been before. I didn't realize the degree that there was gonna be that difference. It was surprising to me. I can hear my feet when I walk across the floor on the carpet, and that's one of those noises you don't hear with your regular hearing even when it's good. There are also several other things that you just don't pay any attention to until you get really good hearing and then you notice and wonder, "What is that?" You have to run it down and you find out it's something that's been there forever. So I'm thoroughly delighted with my Eargo. It's an amazing device. I'm so pleased that I ran into the advertisement and decided to give them a try.
When I ran into Eargo's advertisement initially, I thought it sounded like it would be so convenient and easy to use. I wanted to at least to try them on a trial basis. So I contacted them and the more we talked, the more I decided. I was also pretty confident that if I could hear well enough, I would like one enough to keep them. They sent me a set and I wore them for about a month. But my ears got to where they were itching. I mentioned that to the audiologist who was assigned to me and she named some drops you can put on the little fibers. She said that I could try those and sent me a sample. I tried them and it worked. So I ordered some and started using that.
But when I went to the doctor for a regular check-up and she looked at my ears, she said both my ears were infected. So then I began to doubt. I thought it was the hearing aids and that I was not gonna be able to keep them. I had to stop using them for a couple of weeks. I took the medications from the doctor and cleared up the infection. On the follow-up visit, I asked if the hearing aids could have caused the infection and the doctor said no. She said that it was not the kind of infection that an exterior thing would have caused. It was a virus and when it gets in your ears, that gives you an ear infection. So that made my day.
I love my Eargo hearing aids. My audiologist also sent me the new tips, Palms, and I love them. I put them on and they don't bother my ears. I don't know they're in there. I can hear and adjust the sound. I also try to keep the hearing aids in as good condition as I can. I keep it cleaned regularly and charged, the filters changed and my ears as clean as possible. And they have not given me one minute of trouble of any kind. I'm just delighted with them.
We're thoroughly delighted with your comment, Norma. ChEARs!

I've been a disc jockey for 50 years so I've had a lot of loud noise coming at my head in a lot of different ways over a lot of different speakers over the years. My hearing loss was mild to moderate and then my wife spotted Eargo. They ran a TV ad that we caught on CNN and TIME magazine picked it up. I caught a review of it from CES plus it was half the price. I got he Neo style and they seem to work really well now. When I put the hearing aids in, I don't even notice they're there, except for an occasional feedback loop in one of them. But I'm still working on getting that positioned right.
The sales and customer service have been great all the way down the line even after I mentioned that I would seriously consider working there. The person I first spoke with was Susan and she told their HR people. The HR got ahold of me two days later and we chatted about it. Since having the hearing aids, every third word coming out of my mouth isn't, "What?"

Before, I couldn't catch everything that people had to say and a lot of times, the TV had to be turned up louder. But when I got hearing aids from Eargo, my hearing has been a whole world better than it was before. Initially, I went with them since they don't have the batteries. I have the Neo style and it takes some getting used to. In the beginning, there was a tinny sound until I found where I needed the hearing aids to be. Also, if I scratch my ears, sometimes, they will make noises. I'm still experimenting with the stages, which one that I need to be in, but my husband is happy and now I don't have to have the TV on super loud when he goes to sleep.
The gentleman from Eargo who I spoke with was really good. He wasn't pushy and bossy. He gave me his number if I wanted to call him back, which I did since my husband and my daughter said it was time to do something. So, the hearing aids came at the right time. And the cost was about where I thought it would be and it was a real blessing that I have insurance that will reimburse us. All in all, my experience with Eargo has been great.

I've had hearing aids for a couple of years now. Initially, I saw an email from Eargo and I answered it. Also, I was in San Francisco, so I tried a pair there and really liked them. So, I ordered a pair and their customer service had been excellent. Their follow up had been outstanding plus they kept me in the loop as to when and where the hearing aids were gonna be. They also made sure that if I had any questions, I knew who to call.
Aside from that, Eargo's hearing aids were less expensive than anything I had on before. I was a little apprehensive about them at first because usually, you get what you pay for. But I feel like I got like a lot more than what I actually paid for. I also gave a referral to a lady that works for me who was concerned because of the cost. But I convinced her to call them and they told her that they have a payment plan. So, they have been extremely responsive and they got her all fixed up, too.

I have moderate hearing loss in the high frequencies and I did a lot of research to find out which hearing aid was available that would go inside the ear for less visibility. I didn't want one that goes behind the ear or have wires hanging out. The Eargo product does that and all the consumer comments that were available online were very supportive of what my needs were. So, after checking at least a dozen companies, I decided to purchase from Eargo and I have been very pleased. They have a fantastic customer service support particularly after I decided to go with them. And when I got the product, they were very responsive. They were calling me to make sure it was working and that I was getting used to having the device inside my ear. I also had a direct contact with the audiologist that was assigned tome and I found that to be excellent.
Their hearing aid is a very good product as well and I highly recommend it. Plus, its price is much cheaper than going through the conventional type hearing aid devices that a lot of the other hearing aid specialists offer. And in my study, I found them to be more affordable than the other products that were on the market that I viewed to be inferior to the Eargo hearing aid because they either were behind the ear or they didn't have the same type of construction to go inside the ear. And yet, I am still able to hear other sounds with my Eargo hearing aid, so it has been processed for the higher-pitched frequencies that I had the trouble hearing in. Since I got it, my wife stopped cursing at me for ignoring her and when I'm in a restaurant or in business settings, I have a better understanding of the discussions.

I have a minor hearing loss and before, I had some hearing aids from AccuQuest. They're local and because of that, I could go back over there and they make adjustments to the hearing aids. For a while, the hearing aids were all right but eventually, my warranty ran out and they weren't working properly. They're junk and they put me off until after the warranty was up. So, I switched to Eargo's. I'm from Raleigh and they have no one in Raleigh area, so I purchased them all by telephone. They're great and I love them.
The original hearing aids I got from Eargo worked fine but they just wouldn't keep working. So, I got my second pair and I have no problem with them. They're also cheaper than the ones I got from AccuQuest and so far, these Eargo hearing aids are the best ones I've had. I'm still in the first 45 days that I can send them back and get my money back but I don't plan on doing that.
Other than that, Eargo's customer service has been great. I can call and talk to them anytime I care to talk to them, and they'll give me whatever I want. They're also very friendly and no one wants to put you off. The only thing is, they're not local and I can't go see someone in person. But that's okay. The hearings aids are beautiful and they do exactly what they should be doing which is making speech clearer. Eargo's a great company, too, and I couldn't be more satisfied. Their hearing aids are perfect for someone who isn't profoundly deaf or can hear but can't understand like me. Aside from that, the sounds I get from the hearing aids sound real while some of the other ones I had from the other company didn't. The sounds that came out of that sounded fake and I was never able to hear well.

I had problems with conversation especially if there was any background noise. My hearing loss was not major. It was something I didn't even notice until I wore the Eargo hearing aids and then I realized how much I was missing. I like the technical build of the product and it's different since it's smaller and has the Flexi Palms to hold it in the ear. It's not also visible when I have them in my ear. When I put it the first time, it was amazing. Now, I understand words better in business meetings. At home, things are better with my wife.
The sales and customer service have all been top-notch. When I had issues with the first set, they were right on it and sent me replacement pieces. Any time that I've contacted them, I've been contacted back within a day. I also change styles to keep up with the technology. I started with a Plus model then I went to the Neo and now I'm wearing Max. It's a good value for the price.
