I'm satisfied with the hearing aids from Eargo. They are doing a good job. I like the fact that they're in the ear, not behind the ear. I work quite well with them. The reps also called me for a follow-up twice and their customer service has been very nice.

I like that my Eargo is inside the ear. It's more convenient for that. But I had a rocky start for two weeks because I had something wrong with my charger and I had to send the charger back. They sent it back to IT to find out what was going on, but I haven't heard back about what it might be that was going on. But they replaced it.
It's different than my hearing. It's more in the soprano, tenor range, whereas my normal hearing is in the mid-range. So, it's a little bit of getting used to. It is louder because, with hearing loss, you've lost some of the depth of hearing. Because of the loudness, if there are a lot of people at the same time talking, it's hard to pull together a single conversation. The Bluetooth is also not always reliable. Sometimes it doesn't connect, and then I have to fiddle-faddle around with making a connection.
Before the hearing aid, my wife and I's conversation was stumbling because of the moderate loss of hearing I had. With the hearing aid, now, I speak at a lower voice level and now my wife can't hear me because I speak too low. It's the funniest thing. You can't seem to satisfy both directions. But it impacted as far as hearing.

Great technology was my initial reason for trying out Eargo 6. I was surprised at its capabilities and it didn't disappoint! I have a somewhat unique unilateral hearing loss and then my band days took a lot of my high-end in both ears. The music setting was amazing for which I had an emotional response not realizing how much I was actually missing until now. I use the open pedals to let natural bass in and avoid occlusion (hearing yourself speak).
The restaurant setting takes some getting used to but these Eargo 6's have helped me a lot from simply nodding my head to engaging a lot more in the conversations. I also wanted something no one could see and ask questions about and no one notices I'm wearing these. They are super comfortable so I can wear them a lot. It's worth doing your research. It's not possible to have BlueTooth in such a tiny housing and last all day. The charger is great and they last all day without issue, I'm very happy I bought these.

I had a hearing aid that went bad, and Eargo promptly replaced it. I sent the one that was bad back. The hearing aids feel good. I can’t even tell they’re in. I can hear things I've never heard before. The environment I work in is really loud and I get headaches but out of the plants, they’re wonderful. I'm 100% satisfied. Once I get these paid off, I’ll probably go with the 6 through Eargo.

My path towards solutions to hearing loss began with the Eargo Neo HiFi, the graduated to the Eargo 5, and now has culminated in the new Eargo 6. The Neo HiFi totally impressed me, and then the Eargo 5 completely blew me away. Hard to imagine anything better than the Eargo 5, but the Eargo 6 changed the game again.
We, who suffer from various degrees of hearing loss would love to have the natural hearing capability of our youth back again. Hearing is dynamic, but many times hearing assist devices are not. Eargo 6 has now put me one step closer to that youthful, dynamic hearing experience with its sound adjust feature. Yes, you can still store four hearing profiles in its four program areas and change them manually, but with the hearing assist feature turned on the Eargo 6 device determines what kind of environment you are in and automatically adjusts itself to drown out unwanted background noise and accentuate the part that I consider most important - the ability to hear and discern human speech in a variety of environments.
I was recently at a quasi-busy restaurant, seated at a booth against a wall. My left ear was facing the establishment's seating tables and my right ear was facing the wall. Within a few moments I could tell that the background noise suppression in my left ear was greater than in my right ear. I could hear and understand the person across from me very clearly. There was no need for me to tap my ears and change from the NORMAL program to the RESTAURANT program as I would typically have to do with previous versions of the Eargo devices. At the conclusion of the meal and after stepping outside, I could tell the dynamics were changing again since the background noise outside was much more quiet than inside the restaurant.
This, to me, represents an amazing evolution in hearing assist technology. Hearing is much more natural now and the less I have to manually change settings in my devices the more I forget I even have them in. I also love the fact the no one knows I am wearing hearing aids as they are completely immersed in my ear canal. Eargo 6 is an amazing technology and one I'm grateful for. We often hear that quality of life is so very important. Proper hearing is an important component and Eargo 6 has clearly improved the quality of my hearing life which, in turn, enhances the overall quality of my life. Thank you Eargo. Can't wait to see where you take us next.

I have the Eargo 6 which has the water resistance feature. It also changes by itself from setting to setting. With the Bluetooth, I can set it on the fly with my phone and change things on it. It made conversations much clearer, where I'm not having to ask people to repeat or dependent on my wife to tell me what they said.

I love the Eargo hearing aids. But it doesn't play Bluetooth from my phone to the hearing aid. That was one thing I liked about my old system. It was just like having earphones on. But that's not a huge deal. My frustration with the old style as a physician is that when I had to see patients in the office, I had to take the hearing aids out so that I could use my stethoscope. With the Eargos, I can put my hearing aids right on top of them and it works just fine. It's wonderful.
I had to have one of them replaced because the thread broke and when they send a solitary replacement, I didn't realize that you had to re-set it up on the app. When I put them in in the morning, I got disparate programs from the old one and the new one. I phoned somebody and they had me re-set it up. It's working fine now. Customer service is responsive and helpful. I've been quite pleased with Eargo.

First, the overall experience from purchase through use is a user-friendly & thorough process. The web site is intuitive & easy to navigate. The staff is well-trained & professional. Having started a couple of years ago with the Neo (which did the job well for my hearing loss), the 6 is a quantum product leap forward. It enhances my life. Thank you, Eargo, for exceeding my expectations. Having had experience with both the Neo & the 6, I honestly can't think of an improvement to your process. Once a customer makes the decision & commitment to using a hearing aid, it's a matter of adding the device & it's ongoing "maintenance" to the daily morning & night routine. That's a motivational issue that is up to the customer to implement.

After a false start shortly after picking them up that required a full power cycling (drain to empty, fully recharge) of the charger/devices, I'm now getting to use them daily. I was delayed in getting them for a week by the US/Canada border closures. It's a bit more challenging living outside the US and buying EarGos, as they're not really supported outside the US, but I have managed to overcome a few of those obstacles, and I can say that I'm pleased with my E5s now, after I got them up and running, and was finally able to pair them with my phone.
So, after only 3 months of use, I'm using a combination of Normal, Phone, TV, and Meeting, which are my favorite combinations of programs and settings. They work best for me, after pairing them with my Asus ROG 3 phone, and running a couple of Sound Match setups from the EarGo app. I'm impressed with the sound quality and somewhat greater flexibility they give me over my previous EarGo Max devices. I use the E5s most often to watch television using the EarGo app "TV" setting, so I don't have to wake the neighborhood like I used before, with much higher TV volume settings.
I also find them helpful when using speakerphone on the "Phone" setting, and just at their default "Normal", or the "Meeting" settings for everyday sounds. The Maxes were a good starter kit for me, and did a good job for me over the prior 2 years. The E5s are quite a bit more techie, but it's good techie, and the sound quality is really amazing. So, I would say so far, so good.

I really liked that the hearing aids were in the ear and not around the ear. I'm really happy with it. It's really good. I thought at one time I had one that was defective, but apparently, there was earwax in the very middle of the tip. So I had to take it apart. They have a special tool to get it out. I hadn't read all the directions, so I didn't realize that it was something that could happen that quickly. But that did seem to fix it. So that was good. The reps were very helpful. I ended up with the Eargo 6 as it had the most features that I liked. I'm an early user so we're still adapting to it. I like the Bluetooth connection. I can adjust it while I'm wearing it in different environments and that makes a difference. Having a conversation is different from watching TV. It's also different when in a large room. You can adjust both the volume, the EQ, the treble, and the bass. It helps a good bit. There's also the ease of use and they are rechargeable. All those are major pluses.
My hearing aids are quite expensive. Mine was covered by insurance so it really isn't costing me out of pocket that much. But once you get the cost, it's quite good. Impact-wise, my wife says I've said “Huh?” once in the last few weeks. That’s pretty positive. As time has gone on, conversations are much easier and watching TV’s easier. There are some difficult periods but I'll adapt to those.

We've had a lot of contact with the customer service team. It's a little more than I expected when I talk about customer service due to the fact that everything is either online or through the phone. You don't have an actual doctor's office you get to go to. The only issue that I've had with them is getting the hearing aids properly adjusted. It's taken a little longer than I thought, but we're making pretty good progress. I did have one of my Eargos have a technical issue and I just received the replacement in the mail today.
The hearing aids amplify everything. They make it easier to hear. However, I'm not sure that they're quite dialed in the way they should be. I work in an industrial setting and I have to take them out because I can't tone them down enough and I don't want to damage my hearing any further by having amplified devices in my ear in a loud setting. I've been told by some of my coworkers who do have hearing aids that I shouldn't have to do that. But my hearing aids do some things that theirs don't do, such as I can adjust mine to different settings through my phone. So I'm still a believer in Eargo. It's just that we are quite not there on getting them tuned in right yet.
Every experience that I've had with Eargo's customer service for the most part has been really good. They've adjusted and updated my hearing aids. They did seven different software updates. Also, they listen to me. They understand what my complaints or issues were in the beginning. They know their stuff. It's just that you have to communicate with them so they can fix it appropriately.

I also like the different programs and the water resistance. I really have no complaints to report at this time. I previously had behind the ear hearing aids and the Eargo 6 works so much better. Wearing the my old behind the ear type hearing aids, I always felt self conscious and a little embarrassed to wear them because I felt like I was just broadcasting that I can’t hear. They were uncomfortable when wearing a mask or sunglasses and the mask always snagged on them and pulled them out.

I have worn other hearing aids for approximately 8 years. There was little adjustment available, and they were not very comfortable. I have been wearing my Eargo aids for over a month and must say that I am very impressed. They are so comfortable that several times at bedtime I have forgotten that I was wearing them. Michelle, my Audiologist assistant with Eargo, has been very helpful with customizing the different programs, so that I have a wider range in volume settings. Example: I usually have them set at the normal program. But if I switch to TV mode, I have a higher volume range than normal, and if I switch to restaurant mode I have a lower volume range than normal. This makes the aids very flexible for any environment without losing the customization settings that I had set up when I first got them.
Overall, I am very pleased, and so happy I went with Eargo. My insurance company (UHC Medicare Advantage) has already reimbursed me $2,000 of my purchase cost!

But now, the hearing aids don't seem to be responding at all to any taps while I'm wearing them. So I have to go to my phone to change a program. I can live with it but then, if they're under warranty, perhaps I could get a replacement pair. Other than that, I've had to make two contacts with Eargo's reps and they've both been very positive.

I checked out Eargo and liked the fact that their Eargo 6's are water-resistant. They are invisible, and they don't mess with my mask. I have the Eargo 6 now and I can watch TV with my wife without blistering her eardrums. I was tired of everybody having to yell to get me to hear and understand them. My hearing in my left ear is more severe than Eargo can reach because I went to an audiologist the other day and they tested it. Although it got somewhat in the area, they got really close on the right ear. But the left ear couldn't. I cranked it up before. I had been wearing it on 2 and it helped. I cranked it up to 4 and now I can hear every lip smack and everything else I didn't hear. I hear a lot better. My audiologist was trying to sell me other types of hearing aids. We decided to stick with Eargo because although it didn't reach it in my left ear, it does a lot better than I've ever had. I also like the functionality, style of it and everything else.
Dave was my rep and he was awesome. He answered all of my questions. In the store, I have a gal that's assigned to me and I can only make an appointment with her to talk to her. It's always through my work hours so I missed one of her calls. I don't feel like I can call and ask any questions. I don't like to text and email ‘cause I'm not a real good speller. I'm just not comfortable with that at all. But she's always helped me and answered my questions whenever I talked to her. She said that I can call and talk to somebody else, too, if I had a question.
My hearing aids are very comfortable in my ears. A couple of days ago, I was using the open pedals. I switched to medium because they were most comfortable. I could hardly tell the hearing aids were in there half the time. I did lose on my caps off the backside of one of mine already. These are the night covers. Also, I have problems with my charger not charging one of my Eargos. Once, it was my left then the other time, it was my right. It was because those little stems get straightened out and it wouldn't sit in the cradle right so it did end up charging up. I'm also still learning about the app and I would probably utilize it some if I can figure it all out. I like the simplicity of the app. That's another thing that guided me toward Eargo. I also watched review after review and commercial after commercial and even comparisons with other hearing aids.

Since I got my Eargo hearing aids, I can feel more involved with conversations and I don't miss things as often. I still do to a certain degree but what I'm getting used to is it's not the same as having nothing. The sounds I'm picking up are the sounds that I don't even hear myself. When I get out of a chair, I hear all kinds of cranking and joints are making all kinds of noise, which I didn’t notice before. But the hearing aids are doing what I want them to do. Eargo's reps are also excellent and they all seem to be working with me in answering questions and solving any issues.
I know there's a learning curve it's just a matter of time and getting used to certain things. When I tap the hearing aids to adjust the volume, it doesn't work. But there were times when I'd like to be able to kick up the volume a little bit or reduce it a little bit, and that range seems to be limited. But since this is my first set of hearing aids, I really don't have expectations other than being able to hear better. But there is one thing that Eargo says is an advantage that I look at as a disadvantage. When you work with them, you never see anybody in person and that model sort of bothers me. I would rather have the other old-fashioned model. But I understand the way it could be a pretty good advantage for the population not to hop in the car, get the appointment, get out of the car, get to the appointment and so forth.

Like most things in life, the device worked fine. I heard fine and I could tell the difference. So, if I bought the hearing aid for that reason, which I did, I would be happy with it. But I had itchy ear and once, it got stuck in the canal and I had to go see a physician friend of mine to pull it out. That was when I decided that living with what they called moderate to severe hearing loss, which I thought was more moderate, was easier than using a hearing aid. I also had a hard time with the remote as it didn't work at times. I tried to increase the volume and it wouldn’t work. I called Eargo up and they gave me some excuse but they couldn't give me a good solution.
Finally, one of the Doctors of Audiology called me and said that he was going to program this hearing aid for me and I didn't have to use the remote anymore. But that was not what I paid for. I paid for the fact that I could program it myself. At certain days, I need it to be loud. On other days, I need it to have more background noise or I needed it differently. So, it seemed like this was not working as it should be and they were not willing to admit it. At that that time, I decided to send the hearing aid back. All in all, I was satisfied that the hearing aid was doing its job of increasing my sensitivity to the spoken word but I was unhappy with the side effects. I called Eargo, they sent me a return slip, I sent it back, and within seven to 10 days, the money was returned to my account. They lived up to their guarantee.

I like Eargo a lot better than others. I've tried to get more sophisticated hearing aids and those didn't work. It was an extremely expensive set of hearing aids I got from the VA and they just never could get them to get it right. I had one that gave me so much feedback in one ear. The story was it was the way my ear canal was configured and I never could get rid of the feedback. My Eargo hearing aids are easier to use. Right out of the box, you plug them in and stick the device in your ear and it works like a champ. The fact that it charges in the case is pretty convenient. Also, they don't have to hang over my ear. The product is a good value.

I was pleased with the size of my Eargo hearing aids and the fact that they were in-canal. They also appeared to have good support and their reps have been very helpful. But I'm not happy with my hearing aids and I was going to look to return them. I have another call scheduled for Thursday, but I'm running out of my time period of 45 days to return them. So far, I'm not getting the results that I hoped for as far as the experience with the hearing aids. They amplify many other things that I don't need to hear any better, which pretty much drowns out what I do need to hear. I'm told that it's a matter of my brain adjusting, because I'm not used to hearing those things at the amplitude I do, but so far, it hasn't been working. My big problem is in conversations when there's background noise and that it has not improved much at all.

My wife bought the Eargo hearing aids for me. She liked that they were less likely to be seen and the price as well. The first guy that I talked to was very friendly, knowledgeable, and into it to get it done. I got a welcome call and the lady was very nice. However, they have no hours over the weekends to get ahold of them. I've been needing to talk to them for a week or two. The hearing aids have got modes that you can select like restaurant, phone, or TV. I thought that either the product would pick up on where you're at itself and change, but it does it one out of 100 times. Their videos even show that you can touch the device and change at least the volume but that does not work. That was the one thing that my wife thought she was getting. It's been made clear by Eargo that, no, this product doesn't because we wanted a small, discrete device.

The devices were very expensive at $2650. So, by the time I got to day 40, I knew that they weren't going to work for me. I called Eargo back and they took the hearing aids back. I love the comfort, convenience and performance of these hearing aids, particularly when wearing glasses and pandemic face masks. BUT it is very disappointing that one hearing aid is completely dead after 16 months (beyond the 12 months warranty period). At $2,040 per pair, it's beyond discouraging to have one hearing aid die and be unrepairable. Throughout the 16 months, the EARGO audiologists I have spoken with have been very helpful and customer service has been very good. The hearing aid worked for 8 days after draining the battery for 16 hours and recharging it. After the 8 days, it quit for good. Further attempts to clean the hearing aid with compressed air, drain the battery and recharge were unsuccessful at restoring the hearing aid. I'm very sorry the product lasted only 44% of the expected 3 years.

I started looking at hearing aids not for the hearing loss but it was the symptom of the hearing loss, which is called tinnitus. It is a constant ringing in your ear 24 hours a day. Doctors told me there was nothing that would fix it and I gotta learn to live with it. I said that I was gonna figure something out. I researched and I found Eargo to be very highly rated as far as solving tinnitus. It was literally half the cost of a Miracle-Ear so I said that I was going to purchase it and see what happens. The tinnitus went away the moment I put the Eargo hearing aid in because I could hear. Eargo looks cool. I like the level of technology that they provide as far as having the charger, which is slick, as well as the app to control everything so I'm not having to manually touch my hearing aid if I wanted to control anything. It's all done via the app. T
The other great thing is you don't need to go in for any of this. When I talked to my audiologist about hearing aids, he told me not to go to a retail store because they are paid to sell the top of the line best of everything. I don't know what I don't know and that I’m going to get sold a bunch of stuff I don't need. He told me to do my research.
The online options with Eargo were good or I could come see them. They didn't have a preference either way because they don't get a commission on selling. So, I went online and ordered and the haring aids were shipped to me within two business days, which was amazing during all of the shipping delays we're having in this crazy world. They got me what I needed within two days, which was phenomenal. It was all online, which I liked. There was a hearing test option you could use to customize your hearing aid and I tried that but it wasn't for me. I went to the presets that they already have built-in and I love those.
Value equals money spent over expected outcome. So, I got a good value. I spent appropriately what I'm seeing online and at other stores what I should have spent. For example, one Miracle-Ear hearing aid that doesn't have the capabilities that this hearing aid has costs $4,000 for one hearing aid. I spent 2,950 for two. So, I rotate every other day to lengthen out the time.
I’ve gone out with friends and when I told them I've got tinnitus, they said that they’ve got it too and have been living with it for years. I pulled my Eargo charger out, which I always have with me, and I gave them my other hearing aid, and they put it in. They said the tinnitus was gone. I’ve sold six pairs and legend should be Eargo's term when they talk to me as a customer. I'm a 43 year old sales professional and my appearance is very important to me as far as my role is concerned in the corporate world. Walking around with a hearing aid, you end up with some sort of stigma. It's not like wearing glasses. I don't know why ears are different than eyes, but they are. And so, no one's ever seen this thing and it has changed my life. I went from crying on the couch and I could not play with my son because my tinnitus was so bad to having my life 100% back.

The Eargo hearing aids were too big for my ears and they hurt my ears so bad that I could wear them one day, then I had to wait until the swelling went down for a couple of days before I could use them again. It just wasn't feasible for me, so I sent them back. But I would recommend them to anyone because that was my problem with my ears. They’re so small inside that they didn't fit but that they would be fine for anybody else. So I'm not really condemning the item.

Eargo 5. No experience with other models. I had hearing aids from an audiologist about 15 years ago. I used them for about three years. They never really helped me hear the human voice in the settings I needed. (Meetings, restaurants, family gatherings). They were accidentally crushed on a business trip. I never bothered to replace them.
The last couple of years I decided I needed to try again. I did months of on-line research and set up an audiologist appointment at the same University medical center. Since it was several months out I decided I would try the hearing aids from two or three online sources using the trial periods offered. I went with Eargo first since I really didn't want over the ear models as I would likely throw them across the room on my construction projects when taking off masks, safety glasses, etc.
I have had the Eargo5 for about 60 days. I am keeping them and not moving on to other products. I clearly hear the human voice with reduced background noise. That was my goal and Eargo5 has provided that to me. I have had an issue with the app staying connected to the hearing aids, but that has not affected the clarity and the ability to have conversations in multiple settings without a tremendous effort on my part (funeral, wedding, family gatherings, TV watching, small group conversations). Eargo customer service in terms of adjusting and becoming comfortable with the hearing aids has been excellent.
Customer service for a technical issue was not so well managed by Eargo. With the exception of one person early on in trying to address the technical issue who listened and provided a potential fix (which didn't work), the other "tech" support only asked if the issue had resolved itself and how about scheduling an appointment for another consult. I eventually figured out the problem (retired problem solver). No tech appeared to have training in approaching an unusual technical issue in a structured thoughtful approach.
I contacted Eargo and gave them a more detailed description and they have said they would look to address their failing. Good response. As for long term durability and use, I can't comment at this time. Cost was between $2300 and $2500 with a couple of discounts to get me there (on-line special at Eargo and military discount). Summary... Love the Eargo5 and I think you would too if you have moderate hearing loss.

I'm disappointed with Eargo because I paid a couple hundred dollars for a very thorough audiology test and I learned that the main problem with my hearing then was hearing the endings and beginnings of words rather than volume. And I don't know how to adjust that on my Eargo. At first, I thought the four programs were four levels of volume, but now I understand that I can program them for crowds, meetings and watching TV. I don't know how to change the volume though. I see treble and bass, but I don't like that you can only adjust it when your Eargo Hearing Aids are in their charging unit. So, I can't hear the adjustment to know if it's a good one. I would like a one-time in-person audiologist to help me deal with my Eargo. But I like the size that the hearing aids are nearly invisible. The price was very fair and I like the charging case. They're comfortable and don't go around your ear like the one I had earlier.

But I've had some trouble charging them sometimes and a few times when I was working, like pounding a nail with a hammer, the new level would keep going up and that was a little disconcerting. But one time, I experienced loud background noises and it seemed to work okay with that. Also, the people I talked to on the phone were good. When I first went on the internet, I didn't know there were several kinds and the portion I was watching was for a different model, which sort of bothered me. But I called and they explained how to get to the right computer window. Other than that, I went with Eargo because of those ads on TV saying postal workers could get the hearing aid for free. I have been using my Eargo 5's for two months, and it has been an all-around wonderful experience. I have mild to moderate high-frequency hearing loss, plus I developed tinnitus about 6 months ago, which was driving me crazy. The tinnitus was bothering me more than the hearing loss, but it made me look into hearing aids, because I know that auditory deprivation can cause or make tinnitus worse. The problem is that I'm too vain to wear hearing aids that are visible, and I know that I wouldn't use them enough to be of help. It seemed to me that Eargo was just what I was looking for, and I decided to give it a try.
At first it was a bit of a shock to hear things that I hadn't heard in many years, and it was a bit overwhelming. Also, initially the sound of my own voice was annoying, but I was amazed at how quickly I adjusted to it. Most of all, I'm so happy that when I wear my Eargos, I don't notice my tinnitus. Since my tinnitus is very high pitch buzz, the Eargos boost the ambient sounds in that register, and at least for me, it is very helpful. Not a cure, but a huge help during the day. I still need to use masking sounds at night when I sleep.
During the two months that I have been wearing the Eargos, nobody has noticed (as far as I know) that I am wearing hearing aids. My vanity prevails! I did have a connectivity issue about three weeks into using them, where I wasn't able to change programs using the app anymore. I was able to contact customer service, who advised me to uninstall the app and reinstall it. That helped for a couple of days, but then it was a problem again. Another customer representative advised me to leave the Eargos out of the charger overnight to let the batteries completely run down, then recharge them. That fixed the issue, and they've been working great ever since. All around, I'm very happy with my purchase, and it has greatly improved my quality of life. With the Eargo hearing aids, the users do the hearing test themselves, and the hearing aids are programmed to amplify the frequencies that they lost, so it is like their hearing is restored in those frequencies that they need. I use my hearing aids every day and I've definitely got a range of frequency that my ears don't hear. Also, I've talked with customer service several times and corresponded with them by email, and they are very responsive, helpful, nice and professional.

My Eargo 5s have transformed my life in a positive way. They have significantly improved my hearing and cognitive abilities. I teach and my students have noticed an improvement since I started wearing them. My family is less frustrated with me, and happy that the TV does not have to be as loud as it I had needed it in the past. The Eargos are essential invisible, and have gotten quite comfortable over time. I had some initial problems getting used to them and using the app to adjust them for different situations, but the Eargo Audiologist helped me through those problems. There was a bit of a snag, when the app software was updated, but again customer service helped me through that. I am still struggling a bit with using the app to fine tune my Eargos but things are improving. I am thrilled with the results and so happy that I took this step. Give them a try, the 45 trial period is really helpful!

I've had my Eargo 5 aids for about 2 months now. I have moderate loss so only use them in situations like restaurants, tv watching, theater. I probably average 2-3 hours/day. The sound quality is excellent and I love the invisibility of the devices in the ear canal. I do experience tickling as sound causes some vibration in the canal. The tickling/itching does decrease with time, but buyers should be aware of this. The charging case is very compact and sleek. Overall, very satisfied with purchase. I believe the price is well below similar high quality products that must be purchased through a doctor's office.

I can’t say enough good things about my Eargo hearing aids. I’ve needed hearing aids for a while now but kept putting off my purchase due to a bad experience with hearing aids from a well known “buy in bulk” warehouse, I decided I was better off not hearing well than wearing sub par hearing aids. After reading all the positive reviews on the Eargo, I decided to give them a try. They have literally changed my life. The word huh has been all but eliminated from my vocabulary and I hear so much better now. I can’t thank Eargo enough for creating such a great product.

Last year, I purchased a pair of Eargo Neo Hi-Fi's. Sadly, I could not get them to fit perfectly so that I had a consistent clear and present signal. This was not the fault of the Eargo's but rather that of my ear canal, which has an odd bend to it. I had pretty much given up on being able to use them when I read about the Eargo 5, which was said to be 10% smaller than my pair. I took a flyer and ordered them. To my delight, they fit perfectly and I have a great connection every time. They seem to be much easier to keep clean, as well. As an added bonus, I passed my original Eargo Neo Hi Fi's along to my girlfriend. They were a perfect fit for her and she tells me just about every other day how much she is enjoying them. So all's well that ends well.

Ordering was easy and they arrived when promised. I replaced an older set of behind the ear aids with the Eargo 5 and I would never go back to the behind the ear style again. As for the quality to price I don’t believe you can beat them. They perform as good as I hoped they would. I wear them from 6 am to 10 pm daily and they perform flawlessly. The only issue I have is I can only get one charge out of the charger so I have to plug it in every day. A small price to pay for better hearing.

After 4 years wearing a high end behind the ear RIC device and doing a lot of research, I decided to give Eargo 5’s a try. I am delighted with them. The Sound Match technology is great, with results that closely mirror prior tests done in a traditional audiologist setting. Having the ability to then tailor my Eargos to settings I find optimal is huge; a capability I never had before. Support from Eargo’s audiologist and hearing professional through has been terrific. Finally, they are very comfortable; after wearing a discrete behind the ear device, I now go through much of the day not even registering that I’m wearing hearing aids. I feel - and hear - like I did before I stared wearing hearing aids. I’m a very happy camper.

Eargo is AWFUL and the customer support is TERRIBLE. My advice - save your money and buy a cheaper, over ear pair. Buy these if you want a pair of expensive, poorly made hearing aids and then absolutely no customer support. I was looking forward to receiving my Eargo Neo HiFi's, having spent around $3000 on them. However, after using them for the 1 month "adjustment period", the device was still working poorly. Unless you have ears made from rubber, these fall out of your ears when you eat, when you shake your head, and when you walk briskly.
No matter what I tried (cleaning the earbuds, changing the earbuds etc.), nothing helped. The hearing aids get feedback VERY easily, given that the microphone is in your ear with the speaker. The charging case is a poorly made piece of plastic. You have to spend 5 minutes wiggling the hearing aids in the case for them to start charging. A $300 pair of Apple Airpods are better made than these 10x cost Eargo. The return window is just 1 month, coincidentally the same length as the "adjustment period" that they advertise for their device. You can't even leave reviews on their website. All Eargo do is screw you over. No customer support. No ability to return. Awful business and shady business practices.

Do not get Eargo if you have heavy earwax. Since they have since modified the Eargo 5 to allow removal of debris behind the microphone they are certainly aware of the problem but would not accept that a trial period requires a working product. My experience with Eargo Neo HiFi has been extremely frustrating. I have spent countless times contacting Eargo (with long waits on hold). Despite the fact that I have carefully cleaned and probably replaced wax guards too often I am plagued by unreliable hearing aids.
I ordered Eargo Neo HiFi on April 25, 2021. They worked briefly until early May. After several conversations with your representative I ordered a replacement for the right ear on May 11. The left ear aid showed no amplification in late June. Again, after speaking with your representatives I ordered a replacement on July 2. The left failed again and I ordered a replacement after discussing with your representative on July 20. In early August both failed. The left just quit amplifying after a short time, the right would suddenly squeal for about 10 seconds and die. The right hearing aid died again Sept 29. It was replaced in about a week. The left died in mid-October.
I have used up most of my wax guards as I have replaced numerous times to see if that made a difference. I have tried an electric toothbrush, as one representative suggested, used separate brushes on microphone and speaker end, and flushed with compressed air. I was advised that my replacements showed signs of wax getting under the microphone cover. I seem to secrete a relatively large amount of earwax but did not find out that wax under the cover could be the basis for my problem.
I asked about returns and was told that I was outside my 45 day return period despite never having had 45 day of use without failure. Either there is a quality control problem on the Eargo Neo Hi Fi or they are somehow unsuitable for me. I respectfully request the right to return the Eargo Neo HiFi hearing aids on the basis that I have not had a full 45 days during which both hearing aids worked. My only other resort, which I am reluctant to do is to warn others of my unsatisfactory experiences in public bulletin boards.

The reps were awesome. From my initial purchase and then assuring that everything went well, that was great. I got the Eargo HiFi and compared to the hearing aids that I still had, it seems like I get an amplified sound and not a true replication of what I'm hearing. I paid considerably more for the Signia ones that I had before, but the sound is stellar.
I had two units that failed during my first month and Eargo was excellent about replacing those. When I spoke to them about returning them for my refund, they were more than happy to make me a happy customer. I would try Eargo again as their technology advances because I like the unit in general. I don't think the sound I got was authentic and accurate.

At first the hearing aids irritated me because I'm not used to something in my ear. It tickled. But I need to change the petals between the solid and the one with more ventilation because the sound might be better. I'm retired, so I stay at home, which means I don't have the need to hear as if I were working. I don't wear them that much. But I'm glad to have them at the same time. I like the rechargeable. I'm still getting used to the Eargos because I had to change the size that was in there and put the white ones in, the smaller size, so they would fit better. I just did that the other day. Juan called for that and we had a talk with him. He explained certain things, how to pull off that piece and put a small one on. He was very helpful. The only thing is I always get that feeling the hearing aids will fall out. But that's one thing I have to get used to. Also, I get that whistle sound at times that comes on. One said I tap the side of my ear four times, and that's how I lower it. Sometimes it's too loud, but it is helping in social gatherings, that I can hear what everybody's saying.

I ran across an order online, and it had the mount, and back-of-the-ear and one inside. And they work good, but they were just a nuisance. Especially when I wear a mask, I take the mask off and fling it clear across the room. I could do better, I thought. When I saw the ad that Eargo had, it looked great because it was just one little earbud that went inside the ear, and it was rechargeable which rids of the batteries. So, I thought, "Well, the price looked good." Because I was looking at some that were $5,000, $6,000, and I wouldn't want to go there.
I've been on the Eargos and have liked them ever since. I'm nowhere near deaf. It's just mostly distinguishing frequencies. But the hearing aids have helped very much when I'm in crowds and with a lot of background noise. I'm a pastor, so I use them when I'm at church on Wednesday nights and Bible study, and worship service Sunday mornings and evenings. If I went to a meeting, I would wear them. And so far, they've been super. When my right earbud wouldn't recharge, I called and Eargo replaced it. And I was pleased with the service.
I'm seeing a retired nurse. She wears hearing aids, and she made a comment about mine. And she paid a small fortune for hers, but they were the behind the ear piece. She said she is not too happy with them, and I said, "Well, maybe in time, you might want to try these and see." She seems to be open for it especially because of the one piece that goes in the ear where people can't see it.

A set of Eargo's Neo HiFi hearing aids was purchased for me by my wife over 5 months ago. In that time both hearing aids and charger have been replaced numerous times due to one or more of each unit not working. The charger doesn't charge one hearing aid or completely stops charging. The hearing aids cease to work after a clue of weeks. The aids make popping, hissing, & cracking sounds, then stop amplifying any sound. When I call for support, I can never get anyone to answer on the first call. I must always leave my number & await a callback, which at times never comes. When someone does call back, I am asked what I did to resolve my problem, as well as instructed to "clean and/or replace certain parts".
Once I go through this, I am told I will receive a callback from another person, either an audiologist or a warranty specialist within 2 business days. While all this nonsense is occurring, I have one or no hearing aids to assist; however, I still have to pay a monthly financial payment regardless. Once someone does call back, I am asked the same questions & instructed to do the same cleaning/replacement procedures, resulting in the Eargos representative sending out a new replacement (s). This is not a reputable or professional company! Eargo has 90 Better Business Bureau complaints filed against them in the past 3 years! Not a sign of a company that produces a quality piece of audio technology! Look elsewhere if you wish to spend your money wisely, as well as receive a reliable set of hearing aids!

I’m not sure if there would be even a smaller tip though. ‘Cause there are only the two sizes that I've discovered. Because my right ear canal is just a little bit smaller. I don't know if that affects how the sound waves come into the ear. I'm assuming that there's some vibration that goes on there and then it becomes enhanced. But the customer service and their online support have been really good. I would recommend people to give Eargo a shot. Depending on the amount of hearing loss, it can definitely improve that. Eargo had a promotional program where they would send people nonfunctional hearing aids, so that they could test them out for a fit. And I said, “Well, okay. Well, I'll go ahead and do that.” That was several years ago. So, this is for the latest version that I have. I got the samples, but I didn't pay much attention to it until recently where I had difficulty with the current aids, and I haven't got them properly fitted. The insurance paid for them. I gave up because of the audiologist. That was when I decided to try the Eargo. Because they had the usual testing program for so many days, and the price was right. Plus they were CIC style, which I was more accustomed to using.
What surprises me the most is how comfortable they are for what I would consider a universal set. I'm from the era where we have that goop, chuck it in your ear, and the molding was made. So, they are very comfortable. They’re lightweights. I had some initial set up issues. I had a bad charging base, the little round pod thing. Apparently, it had some difficulty connecting to the internet. But Eargo sent me a complete replacement of aids and the base as well, which was very nice of them to do.
They're small, they last a long time as far as the charge goes. The fact that I have enough charge in the case itself for three or four charges without having to plug it in makes it handy for a weekend use. For something that is a vented device, I don't get any feedback. So, I'm pleased with that. I also like the programming aspect of it. I was skeptical because I'm from the school where you go in the booth and click the button. But this setup process was surprisingly more robust than I thought it would be. Because, “Here are your aids,” and they never took a test. So, the cell phone testing function works very well. Very clever that they would do it that way.
If I had any complaint at all, it was initially when I ordered the hearing aids, it's getting anybody on the phone. There was a backlog of hours that I get in touch with somebody at customer service. But when I got somebody at customer service, they were very informative. The person who’s an audiologist was very helpful and helped me customize the hearing that I wanted to hear. I like the “music setting” because it’s devoid of compression. And I’ve been involved in audio sound for many years, and doing radio stuff. I would much rather hear what the surrounding sound is, and let my brain sort out what is noise and what I wanna hear. But that's probably because I'm old-school, from hearing aids that didn't have built-in noise reduction and compression. So, the music setting gets rid of that compression.
The audiologist was able to customize my “normal settings” to eliminate the compression factor, and sent that programming down the line, to my recharging pod. At which point, the hearing aids were updated. So, I would give Eargo high marks on that. My first audiologist said, “You're the only person that asked me for the microphone patterns on your hearing aids.” So far, it went well. The downside was it took me a long time to get connected with anybody, but I've been told that that is trying to be remedied as more and more people are hired.
I've recommended Eargo to other friends of mine who have hearing aids that are far more expensive than mine. And they are looking into it. It’s not going to be for everybody. Because some people's hearing loss don't fit that spectrum. It's mostly designed for high-frequency hearing loss, which is my problem. I have a boss who has a low-frequency hearing loss so the aids are probably not recommended for her. But I told her about them. And I said, “You can call Eargo and find out about what's applicable for your type of hearing loss.”

Hello Terry. As you know, we have made every effort to attempt to locate your system. Our warehouse has not received a return with a serial number that matches yours, and the tracking number we provided to you has not been activated since it was issued.
In order to issue a return for an Eargo purchase, we must receive the physical product in return. At a minimum we would need a tracking number to be able to show that your product was in transit to be returned to us to deem it lost and proceed with a refund.
We recommend inquiring with your local USPS office where you dropped off your package. If they are able to locate your package and ship it back to us, please contact us with the tracking information and we will happily proceed with processing your refund outside of our return period.

I bought these last March. When driving the car with the windows partially open, they change programs constantly. Customer care suggested taking them out when I drive. Not a good suggestion. These devices will drive you crazy when you drive with the windows open or the top down. I'm not not sure if the Eargo 5 has fixed the problem but the company said they wouldn't allow me to upgrade and pay the difference to mitigate the problem. Also, the charging unit stopped synching to my phone. They did offer to send a new charger and I hope there is an adjustment to fix the program change issue.
Hello! We're so sorry to hear about the frustration regarding the sound profiles changing on their own. The reason for this is that the sound profiles should cycle when air is pushed into the microphone, like when you're tapping your ears twice. Another way that you can avoid this (other than removing the devices when driving with the windows down) is using the free Eargo app to mute all sound profiles but the desired profile. There is already a case in progress for one of our on-call professionals to call you and work through trying this with you.
I hope this is helpful, but if you need anything else then please let me know. Our Client Care team can be reached Monday-Friday 8am-8pm CST by emailing support@eargo.com, through the live chat function on our website at eargo.com, or by calling us at 1-800-615-9000.

I was able to come to a resolution with Eargo. It’s a good product. It just didn’t work for me.
Original Review: Aug. 28, 2021
I have worn hearing aids for 9 or 10 years, (behind the ear models,) and a year ago decided I’d try the Eargo Neo HiFi. There were some initial problems with feedback and getting used to an in the ear aid, but once I got past those I liked the product. But a little more than two months into wearing them, I began to have problems where they weren’t amplifying sound and wouldn’t cycle through the programs. Long story short, the issue for me is that the microphones in the Eargo stop working after two months. This first happened to me just after the initial period where I could return them had expired, and so I worked on solving the problem. Eargo has been good about honoring the warranty and giving me a new hearing aid. In general I’ve found the people on the customer service line to be helpful, and usually easy to reach.
The service representatives have worked with me to try to solve the problem, which apparently is caused by the microphone getting obstructed with wax and debris. I have followed every suggestion they’ve made—compressed air for cleaning, using a different brush, letting the aids dry first before cleaning. But the aids continue to fail after about 2 months no matter what I’ve tried. There have been times they’ve seemed to blame me for this, insinuating I don’t care for them properly. But I’m very meticulous about cleaning and caring for them, and follow all their suggestions, even up to buying another maker’s hearing aid vacuum that cost me $100. Nothing has worked. I’ve now had to replace each hearing aid separately 5 or 6 times in the last 14 months. The customer service representatives are helpful but limited in what they can do when they are dealing with you only over the phone or video.
After the last aid failed, despite following their suggestion of daily use of the vacuum as “the only other thing to try,” I called Eargo again. The customer line had me on a 40 minute hold each time I called, so I requested a call back. They called back the first time within the hour, but unfortunately I couldn’t take the call. After that I requested callbacks twice, as well as made 2 emails to their support line as they suggest, and didn’t receive any calls or emails in return for 6 days. All this time I was without a left hearing aid. I finally had to write to a customer representative whose direct email I had from a past complaint, and finally heard back.
I told Eargo I was very frustrated that during the last year, I’d had ten to twelve failures of the device, and a total of about 3 months during that time where I was without a hearing aid. I mentioned I knew that they’d come out with a new model, the Eargo 5, with changes to the microphone and cover which seemed to address the exact issue I had with my Neo Hifi model's failing. The Eargo 5 has a self-cleaning, removable microphone cover which indicates to me they are aware there was a design flaw in the Neo Hifi. The representative said the new model would likely take care of the problem I’ve had with my current aids.
I asked what kind of upgrade I could get, particularly since the current ones I’ve own have continually failed. They said I could get $500 off the cost of $2950, not because of the problems I’ve had, but because that is just what they offer any current Eargo customer. I said the Neo Hifi I already had cost nearly that exact amount, and I was hesitant to again spend that amount of money to try a new pair which I wasn’t even sure would solve my issue. The representative pointed out their 60-day return policy. I explained the problem with my original pair was that they functioned just past that time and then failed, and consistently did so, and despite numerous interactions the company had not properly remedied that during the last year.
I have decided that I’m unwilling to risk more money on a new product from Eargo, as they have not remedied what is a defective product for some people, and clearly is for me. And I’m not going to go through another year under warranty with my current devices where I have to send in the devices that have failed and wait to receive a replacement, every month or so. I will find a hearing aid and a company that works for me and is committed to giving my money’s worth in their product.

Since using Eargo, there's been an improvement with my hearing, although I'm not sure it deals with all the tones that I have deafness with. I have printouts of the hearing tests that I had done and they didn't ask for those, which would have been an intelligent thing to do. They could have matched the hearing aids to something more medically documented. Other than that, the hearing aids fit very well in the ear. I'm reactive outside and my chance of losing them or having them fall out is slim to none.

You'll get all of the above and then the actual product will mysteriously stop working right after the one year warranty expires. Everyone will be very sorry and offer to help you reinstall, re-clean, re-setup, re-test, etc. but the poorly designed product will still be dead. No refund, no replacement unless you're willing to pay another few hundred (per ear) for another short lived unit.

My Eargo hearing aids make it easier mostly in meetings when I'm further back or sometimes if I'm in the front and briefing then there are folks a little bit further back. In the past, depending on the pitch of the person, it could be a big issue and my hearing aids helped with that a lot. So, I don't use them so much in my day-to-day activities, like listening to TV, because I don't want to leave them in my ear too long. But they've been really beneficial for on a six to eight hours a day when I'm doing actual work and I'm having communication. As people are a little bit of distance away from me, my hearing aids have given me a significant amount of relief from having to ask somebody to repeat or speak up. The batteries also seem to last a really long time and the hearing aids are functioning well for me, so I'm happy.
They're pretty comfortable, too. I have sensitive ears, so if I wore even what everyone else would rate the most comfortable earbud in the world, in three or four hours in, my ears start getting tender. My Eargo hearing aids are more comfortable than my expensive earbuds for listening to music or being on a plane since I travel a lot. Even the most expensive earbuds hurt my ears 10 times more than these do. After eight hours, my ears do get tender. But these hearings aids are so much better than my earbuds because they're really small and they've not given me any odd sounds or any issue.

First of all I liked the Eargo technology and really wanted the aids to work. I contacted Eargo multiple times during the trial period and made the adjustments they recommended. Some of the suggestion work, but not consistently. My desire to make the aids work put me past the the 45 day trial period. Now I am stuck with aids that do not work for my hearing problem even though I maintain the aids as recommended by Eargo. One day I get some improvement in hearing and the next day nothing. My common test is to remove one aid at a time to see if I notice a hearing difference. My left ear makes no difference with or without the aid. My right ear makes a slight difference sometimes, but again, not consistently. Based upon my personal experience I would not recommend these hearing aids to anyone with more than mild hearing loss. Disappointed in the outcome. Going back to my old, retired hearing aid.

My hearing wasn't that bad but I was trying to get the ringing to go away. My Eargo helps in hearing other stuff clear, but it doesn't really do anything for my ringing. In my one ear, I get a lot of buildup in it. So, I got to clean them a couple times a day to make sure they stay working good. The process is not bad. You got to be home to have something to clean it with. Eargo's team answered everything when I had questions. I didn't have no problems with them.
Hi Michael. Thank you for the honest and candid feedback about your Eargo experience. As with any hearing aid, you have to keep up with cleaning in order to keep your Eargos in top running and sounding condition. Thanks for choosing Eargo!

I got the hearing aid with the fluffy things that go all the way in your ear from Eargo and it's very good. But it's hard to get to change programs from one to four and I have to push on my ear several times before it changes. Then, the doctor was supposed to send me a CD and a wrench to get that little filter out, but I haven't received them yet.
Other than that, a year ago, my wife had gotten hearing aids and they were the ones with the thing that goes behind your ear. And she couldn't wear her mask with them because when she'd pull her mask off, they were gone. She'd lost one already and I asked the guy from Eargo about checking to see if she's eligible. But it'll be five years before she's eligible. We paid $4500 for her hearing aids and when she lost it, we had to pay another $500. So, that was really tough. Despite that, Eargo's hearing aid is a very good product and it's very well-made. I'm satisfied with it and it's better than those ones that wrap around your ear.

The Eargo hearing aids sit inside my ear. Most of the time, I forget they're even there. Every night when I go to bed and I realize that they're there. Then I have to go down and put them in the charger. The people from Eargo listen to your questions and I’m very happy with them. When you look around, Eargo is certainly in the range of the upper-priced units. But they're doing what they say they’d do and they have definitely improved my hearing. I'm enjoying the clarity of the sound and the words.

I had very severe hearing loss and I already had hearing aids. But I didn't like the over-the-ear configuration. It was very noisy and picked up a lot of wind noise. My wife tried Eargo and she recommended them to me so I gave them a try and I like them. I had insurance so I was not too concerned about the cost. But if I had to pay for the hearing aids myself, I probably wouldn't have gotten them because they're pretty pricey. In-the-ear models are generally more expensive but the cost being one and a half times is steep. Other than that, my experience was pretty seamless and easy so I'm happy.

My son inherited a hearing problem and he was reluctant to do anything about it. Some folks at his job were a little irritated with him continually asking them to say things over. I did a little bit of research into the quality of Eargo. I like the 45-day trial and the money-back thing because we weren't sure if our son was going to be able to adjust to it because it's hard for a person to adjust to having things in your ear all the time. The price was good and they were probably higher quality than some of those others that are advertised. I bought our son the hearing aid and that has helped him a great deal. He likes it. He said he can tap on it and change the mode. So far, it's doing great.
But there were issues regarding the two-day delivery. To me, when they say two-day shipping, that means two days from the day I pay then I'm going to receive the product. But it was not shipped to get to me in two days. When I inquired about it, I was told, "That means two days from the time it actually ships." But they don't say that at checkout. If you go to Amazon and you get two-day shipping, you get it in two days, not two days from when you decide to ship it. If Eargo had actually shipped to me in two days, the product would have gotten here before the cold blizzard hit most of the country. Since they didn't ship it right away, it got caught up in that blizzard and was delayed.
The other thing that was really dumb was they shifted to a UPS facility that does not allow for local pickup. The product was stuck there for another four or five days. Normally, if I get a package at a UPS facility and they are not going to be able to make it out to my location because of snow, I can call them and tell them that I'm going to pick it up. We live a few miles apart from our son and he was anxious in trying to get the hearing aid. Finally, he worked it out and wound up getting it. I got several apologies from Eargo. I had to pay $25 extra for the two-day shipping and they refunded that. In total, it took three weeks or so to get the hearing aid. I would encourage whoever makes these decisions at Eargo to rectify what they mean by two-day shipping on their checkout. I've done a little eCommerce work myself and it's not a big deal to change the wording in the checkout mode on their site.

I'm a bit confused with the charger. When I put the hearing aid on the charger, it'll start blinking, the white light. So, I assume that it's charging. Then, I'll come back, it'll be charging for a while. Then it'll be the four red dots and it's not charging at all. That happens frequently. So then I unplug everything and then put the hearing aid back in. But it's just a minor annoyance and we've been able to get by with it. My wife loves them. It definitely works and it improves her hearing. They're easy to use.

I'm still learning how to adjust everything on there, so I don't have them screeching but it's a learning experience.
The representatives of Eargo have called to check up on me to see how I'm doing. I had issues with the hearing aids in my left ear. They told me little things I could try to make it feel better and trim it down some. Even after that, they've called to check and see how it's doing. They've been really attentive and they give good advice. Especially the retired federal workers, I'd tell them to try Eargo first before going anywhere where it’s gonna cost them an arm and a leg.

I purchased a pair of Neo Hi Fi hearing aids over a year ago. Since my purchase I had had to have 7 or 8 replacements. When they work they are great but they fail more than is reasonable. It becomes cruel and unusual punishment having to have them replace these and having to go more than week with only 1 aid or no aids. I paid good hard. Earned money for these aids. I have used aids for close to 40 years. All types and brands of aids. Never, ever had this type of problem. These aids lack the design and electronics to be great aids. Also if you bike or walk in moderate wind they keep changing programs on you. Maintenance is a daily deal with these and still they fail. I am 71yo and would like to do more in life instead of waiting for a hearing professional to call me back. They need to refund money to me so I can move on to a reliable brand. These are not a good aid.
Hi Michael. I know you've recently been in touch with our client care team and one of our hearing professionals. After further deliberation we believe that the best remedy at this point is to honor your request and refund your purchase price in full. Based on your notes, I know you've tried to be patient to make Eargo hearing aids work and I can tell our team has tried to do the same. I have been in the hearing aid industry for over 30 years and know too well that there are simply some hearing aid brands and models that do not work for people. We have tens of thousands of people who use Eargo hearing aids without any issues, but sometimes we have clients who don't do well with them. Thank you for speaking up. We will honor your refund within the next few business days and you'll hear from a team member about this. We wish you all the best as you try and find a hearing aid solution that meets your needs!

Each time, I was literally on hold for over 30 minutes, and then a recording said, "due to high volume we can not answer your call. Please email." I emailed numerous times. Finally, I received an email that a claim was opened. A week later I received an email that they would send a replacement. It has been weeks, and no replacement came. I tried emailing and calling again. No response. Really, really awful for my father, and a huge frustrating waste of time and money.

I'm new to Eargo but here are the positives: 1. I can barely feel them. 2. They do amplify the sound and suddenly I hear things I haven't heard for years. 3. There is a fix for too much sound... It's called mute. 4. You don't need anything but a hand that slaps you up along the side of your head (over your ear) to change from one program to the other... WOW is that brilliant. 5. For special features and help you have an audiologist as close as the phone and email. She can make program changes on the fly (it's like having a full self-driving Tesla parked inside your ears). I need time to adjust and see how best to work with them. Technology is good but you can't expect to have your 16 year old self back. Adapt and benefit as much as you can. I'm happy!

I've tried hearing aids before but found the reading glasses would hit the part of the hearing aid that's behind the ear. The Bluetooth connection was an issue especially since lots of people leave their phones in scanning mode.
The day I received the the Eargo's I put them in my ears and was amazed at the comfort. There was really no break-in period. Now I do notice doing all that hearing is different. Everything that used to be silent now makes noise. I love it this. Learning to hear sounds again. I tried level 2 but found I got irritated by the loudness of the sound. I'm sure that's my issue from years of living in denial. The best part was yesterday when the little ones came with their grandparents and I was able to talk to and actually understand what they were saying, rather than laughing and smiling without understanding. That made Eargo worth using. The rest is gravy.

After researching hearing aids,I decided to go the the Eargo brand as I liked the idea of the device being in my ear and having the rechargeable base. I will say the customer service was amazing, if fact they switched me back and forth between the Max and the Neo to help me adapt to new sounds. I had a hard time getting use to the tips, and I was sent different ones to try. I began having trouble with one of Neos and the charger with charging my device and holding a charge. Before my year warranty was up, I contacted customer service, I instructed to 'try' different things to get my neos to work.
By then my warranty was up, and I did get a replacement left Neo, but I am left with a charger that does not work with the app and has to be fiddled with to get it to charge. I read somewhere that they work good for a year, then beware. I would recommend asking for an extended warranty if you go with Eargo if they will offer it. Good customer service to help you get use to wearing them, but the product doesn't last. And I take good care of my devices and don't struggle with excess ear wax, which I was told was probably why I may be having trouble.
Hi Vikki. After reviewing your account, I have already sent a message to our Client Care team to reach out to you about your charger. I have authorized a $100 discount be taken off our normal replacement fee on a charger that is out of warranty and we'll guarantee that replacement for a year. I'm happy you've found our customer service and licensed hearing professional team to be helpful, and we'll continue to be here to support you. There are well over 50,000 Eargo customers and we design our hearing aids to be very reliable. That being said a combination of several factors can influence hearing aid and charger performance over the long term from not just Eargo but any hearing aid manufacturer. I promise we'll do our best to make you happy.

My son researched and then, he recommended Eargo to me. I liked that I didn’t have to have batteries in it, which is wonderful. Mostly, the hearing aids amplify the sound but they’re not working now. I just put them in my ear after I recharge them but the last time I tried to put them in, nothing was happening. So I put them back and charged them again although I had charged them overnight. It was probably two weeks ago when it stopped working. I wondered if I should just send them back. I’ve had them for just a month and I still have the box that they came in. But it was fine while they were working. It helped a lot.

Getting my hearing aids was as easy as one, two, three. I called and they said that they could send them to me. Since I’m an ex-government employee, it wouldn’t cost me a penny. So I gave them my insurance and Medicare information. It was the BlueCross BlueShield that paid for them. I got two sets of hearing aids. I got one that the VA gave me and this one. I just alternate them, so I can make sure they have a good charge on them. I wear them every other day.
I can hear better with the hearing aid and when it’s time to go to bed, I forget I got them on. The only thing I find that is still a little annoying is the feedback that I get when I put a phone to my ear or when I lay on a pillow and I turn on my side. I'm an ex-Vietnam vet so my tinnitus and my hearing is shot. I couldn't hear hardly and then, my wife speaks very softly. So, we were the old thing on the old commercial on TV, "Turn down the TV." "I can't hear the damn thing." But now, it's a very big difference. Other than all that screechy noise, they're good. The screechy noise only comes in when my cell phone or the house phone is to my ear. It's not bad and I just have to move the phone around a little bit. I have recommended Eargo to a couple of friends already but I don't know if they've called or not. I told them and that they're free since we’re ex-government employees. I have to follow up with them and see if they ordered some or not.

I have been waiting and watching because I know that all the other competitors of Eargo are basically the same. I had felt like they were all way overpriced and they haven't really changed in 50 years. It's sort of almost like price-fixing. They all were sorta in cahoots. Now I've noticed that some of the old-timey ones are saying, “Yes. Computer blah, blah, blah,” but they're not, really. It's the same old, same old. Eargo, on the other hand, is really using newer technology that I can adjust with my phone and all that kinda stuff. It's awesome. I've been waiting for this technology to finally be affordable and to really be available.
My hearing aids are fantastic. Having them is like day and night. I knew I was missing more and more. Sadly, because of the lockdown I have not been able to go into a crowded room to see how that works. One of the things that pushed me over the edge was going to a meeting. I couldn't hear people even if they were sitting next to me. I haven't gotten to test that out yet, but I hope it'll be soon. Otherwise, birds, understanding words on TV and just a million things, it’s life-changing.
I love my hearing aids and I sorta forget about them. The only drawback is I do wish that there was a real person to make sure I've got them in my ears right. There are some days they're kinda sticking out a little bit and I can't quite find that sweet spot or if I move my head funny, it gets a little muffled and I know that they’re not really in there right. That's the only thing. I feel like sometimes I'm not optimizing the way that they're used.
That aside, customer service has been fabulous about following up and checking in with me. They had an appointment right off the bat. I know they're available anytime if I have questions or concerns. They have that really rare customer service quality of making you feel like you're the only customer they care about which is awesome. I know how hard that is.
I have tried to talk to my 91-year-old father into getting Eargo because he will never stick with his hearing aids. He doesn't like the ones he's got and it's like, “Please get these. Please, dad,” but he just won't. My best friend told me about her hearing aids and that's why I got mine. She was just in love with them. She and I had been hunting forever to find something. I told everybody I know, “Get these. They're fantastic. You put them in, you forget it. You don't have to fiddle around with battery stuff."

I had gotten tested a few years back because my coworkers yelled at me that I wasn't hearing them. I did have some hearing loss, which I found out was genetic because I'm in my 40s. Finding out that health insurance does not cover hearing aids and they're expensive, Eargo was pretty much a blessing because it's affordable. I can pay it off. The hearing aids work great. I don't wear them every day, but I mostly wear them when I'm around other people because there's a lot of activity. The whole introduction on how to take care of the hearing aids, how to use them and how they work was awesome. They stay charged for hours. I don't have to charge it all the time. I'm gonna take very good care of them.
I have a little boy and he would say things to me and everything sounded very muffled to me. When I first got the hearing aids, I asked my son to go in the other room and talk normal, so I could see if I could hear him, and I heard him with no problem. Normally, I would not hear him at all, so I wouldn't even know he was talking. I have a dog and I have to cut their nails. Without the hearing aids, I couldn't hear his nails on the floor because then they would get too long. But with the hearing aids, I can hear every little sound hitting the ground. Everything is so much clearer. The first time I was driving with the hearing aids, I thought the wind was something else. But it was because I never heard it before.
I wore the hearing aids to a barbecue of my sister and the wind was coming from wherever, and I was like, "Oh my God, that's just the wind." It was just stuff that I don't normally hear. I hear everything differently. I don't say, "What?" I hear what people are saying. Before, I couldn't make out the words. But with the Eargo, I don't have that problem. So if I know anybody that has hearing loss like I do, I'm definitely gonna recommend Eargo to them.

I wanted a hearing aid because I was having trouble watching movies. At 86, and trying to recover from open-heart surgery, I was depending on watching movies on television. And I have ringing in my ears and I have problems with putting things in my ear. I got Eargo and I put them in my ears and I didn’t have much of a problem with keeping them there. That was a step in the right direction. It had like a spider-type effect and I put them all the way in my ear. But as far as the buzzing concern, they didn’t help me hear any better.
Also, they told me that it was gonna help me distinguish the wording and stuff like that but it didn't help me at all. I called and I talked to their guy. He told me to download something and he was gonna talk me through it but when I tried to call him back, I didn’t get him. I decided they weren't for me and I was gonna send them back. I would recommend it to people because of the simple reason that they fit in my ear and they set in my ear. They were no problem but it was just that they didn’t solve the problem that I have with hearing.

I just gave Eargo a little bit of information over the phone, and they took care of it with the insurance company and then they sent the product to me. It was very easy. The service was great too. I heard a lot of things about Eargo that were really good and when somebody saw one of their television commercials and thought it was really funny, they told me about it. I had some very nice email interactions with a list of somebody who had reached out to me, so we had some back and forth, and that was very lovely. I got Eargo and the packaging was great. I’ve been happy with the hearing aids as well. They’re not perfect and they’re different than going to the doctor and getting a hearing aid, but I’ve been hearing really well with them. I have them only on level three, so I could go higher, but then, all of the other sounds get louder too.
Today was somehow a turning point though. This morning, twice, I didn’t hear my partner, and that had not happened. I have a lot of issues on the phone too. I thought I was imagining the feedback on the phone and I wasn't. I get feedback when I use them when I talk on the phone and that was not going to work. That’s a deal breaker because I spend a lot of time on a regular landline for my work and I just started taking them out when I answer phone calls. Still, the customer experience was great.

Besides being a neuroclinical psychologist, I'm a commercial and private pilot too and I've had high frequency damage because of aircraft. I found Eargo online and thought that it was nice. They didn't look like they were gonna be too expensive, so I called and got a person to help me out. I was with Miracle-Ear for a long time, but I don’t like the ones that go over the ears. I wanted a different type, like the in-the-ear. This time, it worked out that Eargo went over Miracle-Ear. Eargo is much better. I like the idea that it’s in my ear because, at this time of the year, we live up in the country where there are a lot of black flies. I’m always wiping, going from my ears, and when I do, I flip my hearing aids out. But with Eargo, I don’t have to worry.
Their customer service has been fabulous. Ron spent some time with me talking about different things and what to do and how to do them. If I had any questions, I could call him back or email him. I’m having a little bit of trouble with the right one, but I will be speaking to Ron soon and I can ask him what's going on. I did an inquiry about hearing devices online and Eargo came up. I looked into it, which was how I got started with them. Their staff have been standoffish but in a good way. There has been no pressure. They said, "Try these out and see how you like them. And if you like them, keep them, if not send them back." I like their procedure on the way they handle the customer. I move at my own pace, which is what I've done.
I've never had hearing aids before. I didn't know what to expect. From the moment I got the hearing aids and put them in, I've been in love with them. I couldn't believe what I've been missing for so long. It has been a blessing. It has been comfortable. It's good to the point where I have to keep it on a two because it's so loud. The only drawback is that once I get up to three, especially four, I seem like I get a lot of feedback on the right ear, which is the ear where I have the most hearing issues. I try to keep it around two, but the right ear needs a louder volume than the left ear does. I play with it and some simple taps on the ear and it lowers or raises the volume.
The other hearing aids I looked at had an unbelievably high price. With Eargo, the price was just amazing and I could hear, which was all I want. I didn't want anything with batteries and they scratched that right away because all they offer are chargeable hearing aids. It's so easy to deal with. I just put it in the charger, leave it overnight, and then it's ready to go the next day. They made it simple for somebody like myself.

I went online and I did my research to see the ratings and other people’s comments on Eargo, and I decided to purchase from them. They're the first hearing aids I’ve ever had and they’ve been great so far. I'm enjoying them. But I haven’t been able to use them 24/7 yet because of my work. I don’t wanna destroy them, so when I’m at work, I don’t wear them. So far, the correspondence with Eargo's reps has also been great. They’ve been trying to get in contact with me for any issues and I haven’t had any issues. They’re on top of their game and that’s where they’re gonna succeed.
With my hearing aids, I can get in a conversation where I couldn’t before. So, people will be talking and I can actually understand what they're saying, which works out well. But my wife and kids don’t like it that much because I can hear everything they’re saying now. My hearing is more high-pitched, I can even hear crickets, and I can hear anything high. So the product is perfect for my disadvantage. And my brain’s starting to get a little adjusted to it. It’s taken out some of the highs that don’t need to be there and I know it just takes some time.

These Eargo hearing aids looked like something I could wear and they’re good. I love them. I can wear them without a problem. Anything I stick in my ear causes my ear to itch, but my wife has told me about putting alcohol on that and that helps. The hearing is wonderful. I have the Starkey hearing aids, which is kinda crazy expensive, and I tend to either lose it. When I lost a pair, they replaced one without too much money, but they wanted more after that. I was down to one right side of the hearing aid from them and I needed to replace them. I'm also not a big fan of all the wind noise and everything that the microphone picks up. Pulling the earpiece out is a little bit painful when I’m trying to listen to a patient with a stethoscope. I thought that I’d rather have something more in-the-ear, which is not really seen.
Eargo had a nice rating from a lot of folks. It does a beautiful job of amplifying and they're hidden. I’m a doctor and I found that with it, I couldn't listen with a stethoscope. There’s just way too much feedback when I have to have it on setting number 3 to hear well so it's not really useful to me at work. Also, after the first week of using Eargo exclusively, I got a really nasty external otitis so I couldn't wear them for a good 10 days or so until I finally healed up. I'm on call for 36 hours at a time and I’m reluctant to leave them in the ear for that long.
It's still fine around the house and but if you put the phone up against your ear, there’s also way too much feedback, which is really painful. Eargo called to check on me the first week or two. But the little suggestions for feedback were not really relevant for me because I gotta put stuff in my ear. Also, if you don't have much of a need for amplification and you're only on setting 1 or even 2, the feedback is not as problematic. But when you need a 3 or 4, which is where I am in life, it’s just more of a problem. I'll still use it, but I’m just gonna use them part-time. I'm just not buying the left side of the Starkey and between that and Eargo, I’ll manage.

People have a stigma with people who have exposed hearing aids as well and I like that most people can’t or don’t know that you have hearing aids in place.
Another thing is that Eargo has an outreach process that they assign you to one of their hearing professionals and they give you a call and ask if you have any questions. I have talked to Alyssa three times so far and she has been very helpful. She made an adjustment to my hearing aids this last time and that really helped a lot in getting some of the louder content reduced, so it has been a really good experience in terms of the way they interact with customers.

First of all, I had the old-fashioned ones before I got the Eargo, the ones that go behind your ears. I can hear a lot clearer and I could tell where the sound came from. I switched to Eargo because they're small and fit in my ears. It goes down in your ear where you can't see them and I like that, but they're not as good as the conventional ones. The tipping point for me now is I can't tell what direction the sound is coming from. Another thing is that any time I touch my ear or if I change the volume on them, they ring in my ear so loud. You tap on your ear to change the volume 1, 2, 3, and 4 and to get to 1, 2, and 3, you have go to 4. When I tap on 4, it's a horrible ringing noise that could possibly damage my ear. I've had these for a month and it has been that way from before.
I kept thinking I'd get used to it but I haven’t gotten used to it. Eargo also had them for $400 more and I could have gotten surround sound or a stereo sound, and maybe that would correct the problem. If I needed that, I would have gotten that too. I get emails from them all the time saying to call them if I have any problems and at this point, I'm very unhappy with them but I'm not ready to give up. In fact, the last few days, I've been thinking about giving them a call to tell them what my problems are and to see if there's something that can be corrected.
