    Feels good in ear, forget that they are even there. I am still getting use to hearing sounds. I have missed hearing. High pitch buzzers and beeps. Real test will come when granddaughters come to visit in a few weeks. Their high pitch voices are sometimes hard for me to understand.

    I am now using Eargo 7 hearing devices which is the latest Eargo offering. I am thrilled at their performance, especially given the flexibility in adjustments they provide. Specifically, the ability to tune sound for better clarity in hearing speaking voices and adjust for background noise. Also, fine tuning is provided to further adjust noise levels. (Eargo continues to enhance the capability of its devices as new releases become available... V7 is great for me. I am a guitarist playing in church and also playing traditional Irish music, and having Eargo 7 enhances my ability hear other musicians and singers which greatly improves my hearing quality.     I am very pleased with my Eargos. I am not very technologically savvy, but I have either been able to find the answers through research or contacting EARGO. I previously had hearing aids through Miracle Ear and I did not have a good experience. I wanted the aids to fit in my ear but the technician told me that they were not for me. I constantly knocked the over the ear ones out of my ears and was constantly back tracking to find them, once even at the train station at 30th Street in Philadelphia. I am still a very active person and being outside taking my sunglasses off and on would knock the hearing aids out. I have not had this happen to me with the Eargos. I forget I am even wearing them, which is a great thing. I love that I can clean them myself and use my phone to make changes.

    I have tried a few hearing aids and like the Eargo 7 the best. The hearing aid produces less wind noise when I am outside on a windy day or when bicycling. Having different programs is also helpful with different situations like Restaurant setting. They work better than behind the ear hearing aids with wearing glasses.

    I have been using Eargo hearing aids for 4 months. I have been a hearing aid user for about 5 years and the sound quality and ease of use is far superior to my previous hearing aids.     Best hearing device so far out of 5 other Devices. Work the best in all conditions and the App is excellent when you want to use it to adjust. They last about 16 hours on one charge and have a handy portable charger which can recharge them in about an hour. The petals are easy to replace as well as the micro cap. I have also tried Eargo four five and six and this is the best so far.

    I'm happily at the age where hearing aids have become a fact of life, and on the unfortunate side ...I need them. I've gone thru clinic and Dr approved brands (Phonak and Starkey) at great expense, as well as some of the cheapies out there (you get what you pay for). I've also tried the over the ear style, and while I don't have complaints about the quality of sound, as an active person (over 15 Ironman races) they were a pain. I tried the Eargo 6s a year or so ago, Loved the hearing aids but didn't love the app. I have had my Eargo 7s for about three months now and love them. Eargo has made great strides in improving the app and they are extremely comfortable, easily adjusted by the app, and have great sound quality, as well as being quite water resistant. And, obviously, they are discreet. AND I can put a pencil behind my ear again, and no more problems with glasses. I can highly recommend these Eargos. Service is A-1 also.

    I have been very pleased with the interpersonal customer service and attentiveness. Follow up has been great with timely appointments. Technology is great and easy to interact with. Basically download the app, conduct the hearing test, and the app will download the program to the hearing aids. Charging is easy as well.     I'm still getting used to them in regards to adjustments and feedback on them. Took the initial petals off to clean in warm, soapy water as instructed. I thought I would try out the open petals, but they proved to be too difficult as the holes seem to be too small to snap the unit into. I'll try again the next time I clean the petals. The hearing part is great and I never realized how loud the turn signal is in the car! Paper rustling and water hitting the sink are also new revelations and I don't have to turn TV up as loud. The units are very comfortable to wear and overall, a great experience.

    Eargo, why not offer your hearing aids in skin tone colors (beige, tan, Lt Brn) instead of just black. For a light skinned ** male like me, they're not as inconspicuous as you think (see pics). My wife states they "stick out like a sore thumb," and "it looks like there is a bug in your ear." That's the only reason I returned them. Otherwise, I love everything else about them and awesome customer service! I'll be on the lookout for future releases.

    So sorry to hear that you returned your hearing aids. When seated properly, the Eargo hearing aid should be inserted almost completely in the ear canal, so the very back of the Eargo is flush with the opening of the ear canal and it should be virtually invisible. The ear canal appears quite dark since it receives little light, so the hearing aid is better camouflaged as it more closely resembles a dark ear canal. Other in-the-ear canal hearing aids (or molds) can make it look as if you have something plugging up your ear canal and appear unnatural. If the Eargo devices stick out, it could be due to a narrow or smaller ear canal. Glad that you loved everything else about your Eargos (including the support) and hopefully we can accommodate you in the future!

    The Eargo hearing aids were smaller and fit in your ear. They looked like they would be compatible and would work. They did work for a while but then, they just kind of stopped working. I had to get a replacement, which was another $400, and the right one stopped working. I'm beyond my 45 days return policy so I had to go and buy regular hearing aids from a different company, which I spent $5,000 on. I was very dissatisfied with Eargo and it's too late to get my money back.

    When I talked to the Eargo rep, the rep was fairly reassuring. They knew what they were talking about and they were gonna set up a number of appointments. They had people talk to me and walk me through if I had any problems as well as fine-tuning the hearing aids themselves. It was smooth. I walked out of the store with the hearing aids the day that I went to get them. I was very happy about that. The quality of the hearing aids has been excellent.

    But they have fallen out a couple of times. Luckily it was in the house both times and I was able to find it. I talked to an Eargo representative and the rep made some suggestions, like trimming the part of the thing that goes in your ear. The rep was helpful. The hearing aids are still not perfect though. They slide around a little bit, but it doesn't really impact the hearing. The alternative is having one of those ones that go up on and behind your ear but I really did not want that.

    It took about a week to get used to the new Eargo7s. I have reduced hearing in the mid to upper frequency ranges and I also suffer from Tinnitus. I've been to many "specialists" and all they can do is tell me I have to live with it or buy these ridiculously expensive hearing aids to "mask" the noise. We are talking about $7000 each. Lately, I had tried the Nano brand because they were a gift from my wife. But the Nano's did show me what an in-ear canal aid could do. Plus they were larger than the Eargo and NOT as clear or comfortable. But for $300 a pair, they were much less expensive. All others were external and interfered with my glasses, plus the battery changing nightmare. My mother had big buck hearing aids. She was always changing batteries and they always had "feedback." She was so deaf that she couldn't hear the noise, but everyone else did.

    So, I researched it because I knew I needed something better than the Nano's. So I returned them for refund. I came across the Eargo's and researched them on U-tube and social media. Even though these are expensive, I decided to give them a try and why NOT with the 45 day money-back offer. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! It took a while to find a comfortable fit, but I settled on the medium open florets. After 2 weeks of use, while using the factory settings, I did the hearing test. Twice because the first attempt wasn't in a totally quiet environment. THE SECOND WAS AT NIGHT WHEN EVERYONE WAS ASLEEP, IN A CLOSED ROOM. Wow.

    Well, LET ME TELL YOU.! These are fantastic. I enjoy the different settings and filters for the different environments. Plus the fact that these ACTUALLY DO LAST ALL DAY FOR UP TO 16 HOURS. How do you get that much battery in such a tiny device? (You should partner with Samsung, so my phone would last.) LOL

    Plus now that I've been wearing them every day, all day, I don't even notice them. I actually have to reach up and make sure they are still there! The charging case is also way cool. How inventive! I happy with my investment. So in closing I WILL get back to you down the road with updates. Please keep up the GREAT WORK!

    Most of these over-the-counter hearing aids don't have a return system. Eargo has 45 days. If you aren't satisfied, you can return them. I tried some cheap stuff in the past and they never worked. I decided to go quite a bit more expensive and they seem to work. I don't have the feeling they're ever going to fall out. With the other hearing aids, I always had the feeling that I could lose them at any time. I work and live in an outside environment. I couldn't deal with the idea of always worrying about hearing aids and functioning in my outside environment.

    The Eargo team invested time in testing my hearing, explaining and calibrating to my needs, and providing ongoing training on how best to use and care for my devices. After 15 years of “behind the ear” hearing aids with dangling tubes and new batteries every week, I have found audio nirvana. My Eargo amps are the bomb and they fit perfectly inside my ears! I can now hear with clean audio fidelity that enables easy switching to differing environments. Am using Eargo hearing aids from 6:00AM to 11:00PM every day with power to spare! They stay snug in my ears all day long. I just pop my hearing aids into a small ergonomic case and they are ready for the next morning. I frequently work in loud noises and I love the “Sound Adjust+” feature of my Eargo hearing devices. After a few seconds they automatically adjust the decibel level to a more comfortable sound but I can still hear everything I need to hear. This technology is awesome!

    My mom is not used to using the cell phone app to control the hearing aids and there was too much echo. She has an ear canal that is smaller than normal people and maybe that was the trouble. The Eargo hearing aids didn’t have the right fit for my mom who is in her 80’s. She had the hearing aids for about three weeks and I’ve returned it. I went to where I purchased it and the reps had to get some confirmations from the supervisor. It was quick after that.

    The hearing aid fit is good. I also like the app on my phone to adjust the device. The customer service reps would call and check on me. They made sure everything is going well.     I've had my Eargo 7s for a over a month and I am so happy I finally made the decision to get hearing aids. I appreciate that they are so small and discrete. There is no interference with my eyeglasses, and no one has even noticed I am wearing hearing aids in both ears. The app makes it so convenient to make adjustments discretely - no need to remove the hearing aid. The videos on the website make it easy to check when I am unsure how to do something like clean them for example. I would recommend these to anyone who has been reluctant to wear hearing aids for fear of looking old.

    I got the Eargo 7 hearing aids but I sent them back. They didn't help much because I couldn't turn them up enough. They work fine for one-on-one conversations but not in a crowd. I like the size and the charge seemed to last a long time. But they didn't work for me.

    The Eargo 7 is rechargeable and comes in a little case that I just plug in every night. I take my hearing aids out and put them in the case and the next morning, it's charged for the day. So far, even in a long day, it has lasted with no problem. So, if you charge them overnight, you'll have a day's worth of power for them. The reps would call me to see how it's going and answer any questions. They told me how to handle the hearing aids as well as how to clean them. In addition to that, I got emails from them suggesting this and that and how to maintain and use them. They were very attentive. They treated me great and did a great job of following up to make sure I’m doing fine.

    I'm extremely happy with Eargo. It's been a miracle. I can hear a lot of stuff now I couldn't hear before. I keep looking behind me. I hear those birds chirping. I can hear so much better now so we don't have the TV up loud anymore. The hearing aids have made a big difference. My wife and I bought the hearing aids at the same time and she is just as happy as I am. She says I don't talk as loud as I used to. Her daughter was over shortly after I got the hearing aids and I came out to talk to her in a fairly low voice. I went back in the other room and she asked my wife what the matter was with me because I was talking so quietly. And my wife said I got my hearing aid in. Because if I talk loud again, I can hear it.

    I am on oxygen and I wear glasses and the Eargo hearing aids work perfectly. The quality is wonderful. I've had several phone calls with the reps asking if everything is okay and if they can do anything. They've been great. Everything has been very positive.     The hearing aids work pretty good. I'm pretty comfortable with them. I get more and more used to them. I have them in the ear canal. I tell people I got them, and they go, "Where?" I'm always touching them because I don't wanna lose them. They'll turn a little bit. But they will stay in. I don't have to put the television on the loudest volume and my wife doesn't have to yell at me. I can charge the hearing aids, and that's what I like even better. Also, it could work on my phone and I could adjust the volume. The customer service at Eargo is great. They go over everything with you. They would say, "What's wrong? Tell me what's wrong and we'll find a solution, we'll get a solution." But nothing's really been wrong, I just always had to say, "Well, how do I do this?" Then they would tell me what to do. It's really helpful.

I had many opportunities, especially originally, to call upon the individual, Sarah, identified as my customer contact. She was sensitive to my needs and patient with my learning ability.     If you have trouble hearing and considered hearing aids only to be put off by their exorbitant cost ($6000+), then you might want to give Eargo a try. For under $3000, you can get a pair of Eargo hearing aids without a prescription. They take a bit to get used to like any hearing aid would. But Eargo has exemplary customer service professionals to help you navigate all things Eargo. The best part of their customer service is they are all Eargo users themselves so they are able to give first-hand advice.

    As for battery life, I put them in in the morning and wear them all day without having to recharge them. They usually have about a 1/4 to 1/2 charge remaining when I get back home in the evenings. And the best part? They're nearly invisible to the outside world. Only you will know you're wearing them. They also come with 4 presets to help you hear better in certain situations, such as in restaurants, watching TV, or sitting in meetings.     I just had my welcome call today, and we did a little adjustment, so I'm not giving an overall 3 star review, just at the moment. My issues so far have been with the charger and difficulty being certain the aids are charging. I've had them twice not be charged when I got up in the morning, after having issues closing the top properly. Ashley suggests I leave the top off during the night. I'm going to try that.

    Also, I mentioned the temperature of the aids after charging has been higher than I expected. Sounds are ok. I'm leaning towards switching back to the closed petals, probably will do that tonight, also at Ashley's suggestion. I can't hear the words to songs on the radio in the car. I also am still saying what just about as often as before - and I'm a teacher to middle school kids, so that's frustrating to everyone. :) Hoping things improve, I'm patient, but also willing to give up if things aren't going great by day 35/40.     Eargo has a 45-day trial period and I figured, what have I got to lose? I got their Eargo 7 because that was the top of the line and it was the way to go. The only time I used them is when my wife is in town. I could hear pretty well with them. Customer service was pretty informative. I didn't really talk to them a whole lot because I’m a mechanic and I figure out things by myself or for myself.

    The Bluetooth works fine for controlling the hearing aids. But there was no Bluetooth as far as the radio goes. Also, I took them back about three weeks ago. They were great but they were hard to get out of my ear. I had to get a pair of tweezers to pick up the cord to get them out of my ear and sometimes it took a while. I had in-the-canal hearing aids before and I paid $6,000 for them. They lasted three years and that made me mad. I figured I’d try these Eargo ones out. They had me hear better but the tinny sound and having problems getting them out were the reasons I returned them. Another thing is my hearing aids have a little cord which is a standard link. They were hard to pick up. They work well, except they need to put some way to maybe adjust the bass tone a little bit.

    I have enjoyed my EARGO 5's so much that when the EARGO 7's arrived I thought it best to have another pair, just in case. They are so comfortable that I forget I have them in my ears. They can't be seen unless you are like my haircutter looking right into my ears. The customer service has been excellent. I charge them overnight and they work well all day. Then they go back into the charger. I have tried other hearing devices, but these have been the best for me by far.

    I got the Eargo 7. It is the top of the line. The 6 allows you to change from conversation or normal to a restaurant, to a meeting, to watching TV. You can cycle through them with a tap on the ear or through the app. What Eargo 7 does is it'll do it for you automatically. It's a wonderful thing to experience, but if you're on the train and all of a sudden things get really loud, you hear the filters being triggered on the Eargos by themselves. But I never run out of juice wearing them. For a good 14 hours, they were always on. I also experienced the Sound Match working on its own. Everything that they put in as a benefit came true.

    The technology that they're selling is worth the price, coupled with the help in financing, it's a really good mix. It's a good offering. However, the support from the audiologist, in general, is good and bad. I get an immediate response when I send an email. It's like, "You got a case number this, this, and that." But I found in a couple of instances, I had to call in myself. Because it said, "Somebody will contact you." But then, because you're in a 45-day period, I can't wait days, because I won't be wearing the item and it'll impact me getting used to it. I also thought I was getting an audiologist that would stick with me through the trial period. They gave me ways to contact them. I had the text number. I thought when I put in tickets or requests, that the same person would call me back. But the people that called me back were really good.

    My recent 5-10 year memory was always asking my family to turn up the TV volume or asking them to repeat what they said or to start annunciating or projecting their words. Repeated heeds to get my hearing checked fell on deaf ears. As a project engineer in the expanding biotechnology industry, I found myself having daily Face-To-Face project team and staff meetings. Soon I developed the strategy to arrive to the conference room early, stand, and when the most soft-spoken person arrived, then I would sit opposite them. Soon I realized that this strategy didn’t always work well as sometimes meetings would involve multiple others who never learned to project their voices when speaking? My company HR Department had invited a local audiologist from Hearing Life on site for people to sign up for hearing screenings. I was invited to the office for a more comprehensive examination.

    Functionally the hearing devices made a big difference in my ability to hear and comprehend conversation. However, my holdback was that all they offered was over the ear devices. I have short grey hair, wear glasses, and a mask when I work in our cleanrooms. The average age of our workforce is 35, and I wasn’t ready to begin fighting the ageism battle yet. I then realized my need, but as an engineer, I decided to look for better technology. I then received a mailer from Miracle Ear for an inside the ear canal device. I made an appointment, had another exam and then was told that I would not qualify for an inner canal device, because it was not programable and only served as an amplifier. I felt that this had only been a “Bait and Switch” to get me into the office? They also offered a device that fit into the ear canal, and was molded to the outer ear, but stuck out of the ear like a cancerous growth.

    I then tried Starkey Manufacturing, but their inner ear canal devices were only battery powered and I was told that I would need to change out the battery weekly. I was determined to keep looking. Then I either received a postcard, an email, or saw an ad somewhere from EARGO touting their Neo HiFi hearing devices. I ordered some dummy devices to try them on for fit. I tried them on for size and wore them for weekend days at a time (in spite of having no electronics nor hearing benefit) to determine how my ears would adapt. This was the best I found in my better hearing search, if the actual functioning devices provided any hearing benefit? There was a 30 or 60 day return policy, so I figured that I’d have nothing to lose?

    I ordered my devices, and they came within the week. I charged them up and first tried them over the next weekend. Immediately I could hear my steps shuffling across the floor and the doorknob clank as I went outside. It was spring on Cape Cod and I could not believe it? For the first time in 5 years since moving to the Cape, I heard the birds chirping. I continued to use my EARGO Neo HiFis for the next three years without incident. I personally produce a lot of ear wax and oil, so I developed a nightly cleaning routine that went above and beyond EARGO’s cleaning recommendations. Every night I would use a damp (not dripping wet) Q-Tip moist with 70% rubbing alcohol and wiped down all 16 electrodes on each device and charger to ensure the best contact between the hearing aids and the charger.

    Even this thorough cleaning did not always ensure immediate charging success. So I would brush, wipe, and Q-Tip clean with alcohol again. I learned that if my devices were not adequately charged over the night, they were useless the next day. I received a postcard advertising the newest generation EARGO7 devices. As soon as I saw inductance charging, I knew that alone would save me 5-10 minutes a night in my cleaning routine. I have been using my latest generation for EARGO7 hearing devices for 2 weeks now and I love them: The induction charging, the finger taps to change the hearing programs (compared to the hand taps with the Neo HiFi devices), the enhanced functionality of the EARGO7 cell phone app, and the On-The-Go personal customization of the devices. The EARGO7 devices are more functional than I ever imagined.

    Eventually when technology catches up, I hope that EARGO can introduce WiFI to the hearing devices; but for the present time they still provide the best value on the market. I especially like driving with the windows down during springtime on the Cape. Now without fear of the program of my left ear device repeatability changing, as it had with my Neo HiFi devices. I must also add that the new EARGO hearing test Sound Match is way more thorough than any hearing test that I ever had in the audiologist’s office.

    The only thing it is missing is a soundproof booth. Compared with the technology offered by other players in the hearing device industry, EARGO is hands down the best. Their devices are the most concealed (no one knows that I wear hearing aids, but my family and others I know that struggle with hearing loss and I have shared my EARGO experience with). EARGO 7 devices are the most functional and programmable and are 2-3 times lower cost of others in the hearing device industry.

    I got my Eargo two weeks ago. I am currently in Turkey. I've been trying my Eargo for a week now even though I got it two weeks ago. I started experimenting by doing a sound mapping and pairing it with the iPhone Eargo app. I use normal meeting, restaurant and music programs. I use the volume to a minimum, as the rustling of computer keys, metallic sound, door slamming and contact sounds of metallic items are very loud. I use it with a regular-size pedal. It fits perfectly in my right ear. However, it did not fully penetrate my left ear canal. It's coming out of the channel.

    Therefore, I replaced the pedal of my left ear with a large size. I've been trying this way for two days. However, it still does not fit into the canal completely, it comes back and this creates a pain in my ear. I had a restaurant experience last night, but I had to remove it because the sounds of the side table in the back were always in my ears. I keep trying. I guess I won't be able to contact you by phone while I'm outside the United States. That's why I'm contacting you via this e-mail. **

    My experience with EARGO 7's. I have mild (lower frequencies) to moderate (higher frequencies) hearing loss that I ignored for years and got my first pair of CIC's at 48; something I wish I did many years earlier. Having been a Lyric CIC user for 3 years, and an Oticon CIC user for 10 years, both of which I was very happy with, except for the cost, I was excited to see EARGO come to market, mainly because of the cost difference.

    I trialed the EARGO 6 and liked the small size, rechargeability, and but for me, it fell short in making the sound adjustments quick enough or not at all when I'd change the environment I was in (for example, from home to a restaurant). In addition, there were too many times when I couldn't get enough sound volume to hear the higher frequencies of a family member speaking in the house, so was asking for people to repeat themselves. I was ready to give up on EARGO and go back to prescription CIC's until I saw the EARGO 7 coming out. I inquired with EARGO about trialing these and was given that option.

    The EARGO 7 has been excellent so far. I've used them for a month now and have experienced a vast improvement in sound quality and the ability of the 7's to adjust quickly to different sound environments. I'm not experiencing the warble sounds I'd hear when turning on the microwave or opening the car door. The EARGO app is a huge improvement with the addition of the sound adjust+ feature, which I use the emphasize speech option periodically when at meetings or noisy restaurants. The sound quality of the 7's seems to be very close to what I was experiencing with my prior prescription CIC's, so I am keeping the 7's.

    A couple of other things to note: The EARGO customer support team has been fantastic, working with me through some earlier issues with the 6's and the extended trialing of the 6 to now the 7. The clinical team assisted me in setting up my EARGO's to match a prior hearing test that I had done by an audiologist which I thoroughly appreciated.

    I originally bought the Eargo 6 aids. There were good things about them but also some not good things about them. With that said I decided to trade the Eargo 6 aids for the Eargo 7 aids. The things I didn't like with the Eargo 6 aids are gone with the Eargo 7's. I have not found anything about the Eargo 7 that I don't like.     I am not choosing to keep Eargo. Their service is fantastic. Their input and people helping me have been great, but what I'm having a problem with is my hearing aids, and as long as I've been trying them, I can't wait to get them out of my ear. The itch bothers me. They annoy me. The concept for me was wonderful because I wanted an in-the-ear experience but I think with my hearing loss, it's not gonna be good for me. I feel very uncomfortable with them. They do not suit me when I have to go over to my handicapped granddaughter's house to take care of her. I work with her almost 70 hours a week, and I cannot hear their TV at all. They do really well when I go outside to go shopping and talk to normal people outside, but when I get home and watch television, my husband has to turn up the volume very loud for me to hear it and I thought it was so odd.

    I could probably fine-tune this and I can maybe work with it but in the meantime, I have decided to go into an office where they can work with me directly because I think I have an extremely bad problem with my hearing. I don't think that Eargo's hearing aids are good for me, but they're a wonderful product and I couldn't get better help. I could always call them if they didn't address my problems when I was talking with them. My experience has been fantastic. It almost breaks my heart to say that I don't think I can work with them. They've done everything they could do for me. They also did give me a good discount.

    The Eargo 7 hearing aids have been a game changer for me.     The sales person was good, trying to figure out if the hearing aids were the right option for me and provided good support when I was making a decision. The support staff, Alyssa, is assigned to me and she has been great. I had somebody else that filled in for her when she was on vacation and that person did a good job, too.

    I talked to Alyssa and asked if there was a way I could do another test to say that I am hearing that range now. She told me that I have to go back to an audiologist. I think I was losing the top frequencies. I sent my latest audiology report and she said she could tailor that to my Eargo and plug it in. She downloaded a program to match what I was losing. That was never mentioned. I sent it in originally and they said I was a good fit. They should have taken that information and downloaded into my Eargos right off the bat. They should do standard, if it's within a certain time period. But I mentioned Eargo to one of my buddies. I told him I like them. I'm still trying to figure them out, but it is something that he should consider.

    I got the Eargo 6 which has different adjustable sizes. I used the ones that came with it, which was perfect for my ear. Overall, its performance was good. I like that there was an app that could be used with it. The problem I had with it and that’s just the nature of the industry is I could not adjust the volume. It was either too loud or too soft, too sensitive or not sensitive enough. Both of those variables were driven by the test, not the app. If you want to make an adjustment to it, you have to go in there and run it through the test again and try to trick it, which was a huge hassle. It's extremely frustrating. But that would be true with all over the counter hearing aids. It's not just Eargo. You're gonna get that with all of them. In my particular case because my ears are different, I have to go to a regular audiologist if I choose to do that.

    Having used Eargo, I was amazed at what I could hear. But I also realized my hearing isn't as bad as I thought it is. I have a hard time hearing people sometimes when they talk. So, I just make adjustments. Someday I'll have to go with hearing aids, but I won't be able to go with an over the counter option. I enjoyed everything about the construct of the hearing aids, the way it was designed and the way it fits in the ear, which is almost invisible. People didn't even know I had them on. I like that I could change the settings when I was out if to a restaurant setting, et cetera. But I could not get the sensitivity right for each ear, which were different per ear, and I couldn't get the volume right. The only way to do that was through the app. And that's extremely limiting.

    If I could adjust the volume more, if I could have manually adjusted the sensitivity through the app, I would have kept them. Which you can't do that. And I don't know if that's the industry, if it's the FDA, what limits that, I don't understand that. But in order to get all of that dialed in right, I have to go to an actual hearing aid facility. Still, when the hearing aids worked, it was good. The problem is I couldn't get them to work perfectly all the time. I talked to customer service and an audiologist and the only way to make the adjustment was taking the test over and over again.

    I had a bad injury a few years ago, and it was for the first time, I had to have hearing aids. I elected to get the ones that were over the ear the first time. But the hearing aid could have been better, so I wanted to try the ones that went inside the ear canal. It's a real pain trying to get these masks off. Having the one in the ear canal, I felt like that would make my life a little easier. So I tried Eargo. They give you a trial, which was awesome because from my situation, I never tried them before and I wanted to see if I could hear better.

    Because when you lose your hearing, you remember when you had your hearing, the songs, music and how they sounded. Once you lose your hearing and you have to wear hearing aids, so far, what I found out was no music sounds the same anymore. Now, the songs I've always enjoyed, I have to learn over again and see if I even like them because they just don't sound the same. Eargo just wasn't as good as the ones I had before. It had its pluses, like with the masks and that was great. But other things, no. Eargo also needs to do some more work with their Bluetooth. It keeps coming and going. Also, that little wire that sticks out that grasps the inside of your ear needs to be a stronger piece of something that doesn't bend out of shape. They were too easy to bend out of shape and they stay that way. They shouldn't do that.

    When I first saw Eargo, it looked like a pretty decent product and I liked the idea that all I had to do is put the hearing aid in my ear. All that sounded good. Eargo is not a bad product, but it didn't work out for me. I sent the hearing aids back. When I had them, I could definitely hear better. But part of the problem with Eargo is that it's an internet system. From where I live, it's all on the internet, so there weren't any hearing tests done. You do everything yourself. You get a little bit of support from people calling you up and telling you what to do and you follow the instructions. Everything seemed to work pretty good, but my problem is that when I put the aids in my ear, they started hurting the physical part of my ear. It just hurt so much, I had to take them out.

    It took me a while to get used to the hearing aids, but after the second week, I put them in and out like it's nothing. I can hear higher frequencies with my problem, and I can hear them perfectly now. Eargo has wonderful support. I would call and ask questions, and within a day or two, somebody would call me back. I was assigned a hearing aid specialist, and she checked in with me every single week until I said I'm fine. They do the adjustment on their end because it's all computerized. Also, they have a very good money-back guarantee.

    With my hearing aids, there are four programs you can choose. I chose normal, TV, and restaurant. I never even chose the fourth one because I don't need an amplification for the telephone at all. Eargo is really, really good if you don't have very specific problems. These are for just minor adjustments. Another feature that they have is when you first contact them, they send you a pair to try for the fit, and then if you're computer savvy, you can also take a hearing test to see if you're really eligible for the Eargo. The trial pair also comes with pedals which go on to the top of the Eargo so that it fits into your ear. There are several different sizes that you could try.

    I liked the fact that the hearing aids didn't loop around your ears. It just sits inside your ear, so you can't really see it. That was what I was looking for. So that was why I went with them.     I gave them hell when I first talked to them. The salesman will tell you anything. I was so happy with him. He was so knowledgeable. When I got the hearing aids, I got some NeFi and I was not completely clear on what I was getting. I thought I was getting the Eargo 5. So, I didn't have good app choices or the audiologist. They don't make you pay for it upfront before knowing what you want and the rep gave me a discount. But when I wanted to upgrade to the Eargo 5, all of a sudden the discount disappeared. I was really pissed.

    Other than that, my new hearing aids have more ability on the phone. It also has the assistance of an audiologist to set up to work with hearing over the phone and set a hearing loss setting that matches my ears better. The performance of the hearing aids is very good. It surprises me that they don't last a whole day but also that it lasts longer than other hearing aids. The power goes for eight hours. But when I run a 15-hour day, I have to pop them back in or it'll go battery-low. The case has four little dots to show me to what degree it has lost its power. It takes a couple of hours to get it back up which is not that long.

    I would like to have an app where I can know what volume I'm putting it on like a regular TV. I hit the plus and it has a very minimal change. But that hasn't caused a problem for me.

    I got an Eargo 6 hearing aids but I returned them. The batteries didn't seem to perform well. They sent me a different set but I also had issues with them. I finally said, “This is not a good sign to me, so I'm gonna request that I return what I have. You can refund me the money.” I was quite disappointed with the product. I would still have them if they’d function properly, but they didn't. Also, they were expensive. After checking around, they were a little higher than most.

    I like that the Eargo hearing aids are discreet. However, I didn't like the lack of adjustment as far as volume control and tone.     My Eargo hearing aids have a really tinny sound and when I asked for adjustments, they did it on the same day.     Eargo had the things that I did not like about the other brands, and I knew that there were some hearing aids that had lower cost, but I'd already decided that if I was going to get some, I got to really have this and that.     Having never used hearing aids before I researched the subject for quite a while.     The communication with everyone from Eargo has been very positive. I'm still working on getting used to the hearing aids, though.     I must admit that I was a little apprehensive about which hearing aids to purchase. In the past I purchased what I call cheap hearing aids or hearing amplifiers. The cheap ones were terrible they sounded like two tin cans stretched between a string. I did a lot of research before purchasing my EARGO 6 hearing aids. The purchase was easy, and the shipping was fast. The sound quality I get from the EARGO 6 hearing aids is just amazing. The rechargeable batteries me all day. I don’t have to worry about fumbling around to change batteries.

    At first, I had a problem with hearing my own voice, but it went away in a few days. The app for my hearing aids is perfect, I love the control that I have. I can control my hearing aids to fit the environment I’m in. Now when my wife speaks to me, I can actually hear what she is saying. Before I was always saying HUH all the time or she had time. Before she had to be facing directly at me for me to understand her. I can have conversations with my grand kids now, before it was very difficult.

    The first time I went to a restaurant was amazing. Before in a restaurant I could not have a conversation with anyone because the noise made my hearing scrambled.     I grew up in the country, shooting extensively. As a result, I have moderate high frequency hearing loss and significant tinnitus as diagnosed by my ENT. I’m 64 now, and my hearing has grown worse over the years. I bought over-the-ear hearing aids years ago, but they are problematic because I wear glasses. I also wear a mask often because I’m susceptible to Covid (due to lung damage from pulmonary emboli). Wearing my hearing aids with glasses and/or a mask was very uncomfortable.

    So, when quality hearing aids became available over-the-counter, I started looking for an aid that was entirely in-the-ear. I found several options with a Google search. After that, I relied most on reviews from BBB, Consumer Reports, and CNET to narrow the choices. In the end, Eargo was the obvious choice based on the technology, support, and user reviews. I did the online hearing screening, spoke to a sales representative at Eargo, and placed an order.

    It’s very fair to say that Eargo 6s have changed my life. I can hear all the outdoor sounds I’ve missed for so many years…bird songs, crickets, frogs, squirrels rustling in the leaves. I no longer say “What?” constantly to my wife and friends. I keep the TV volume at a low 8 to 10, compared to the 25-30 that ran my wife and two dogs to the other end of the house. I can hear and participate in conversations. And my tinnitus isn’t as noticeable. I suppose that's because my brain is receiving sounds that weren’t making it through before.

    I had no adjustment period, as far as fit or discomfort, because I’ve worn hearing aids before. The support calls I’ve received from my Eargo audiologist, Cheryl, have been friendly and helpful. Within a week, I recommended Eargo 6s to my brother-in-law, who also has hearing loss. He purchased a pair and is wearing them daily. He opted to do so without Eargo support and is happy as well.

    I am a musician and music lover and I haven't heard music properly in many years. Putting the Eargo's in dramatically changes what I get to hear.     After trying another kind of hearing aids I purchased Eargo 5. After a few weeks of adjustment I am very satisfied with the way they work for me. I find them to be comfortable to a point where I forget they are in my ears.     We often hear or see advertisements that claim their product is a game changer, or certain to improve our lives. Most of these ads never quite deliver on what they promise.     The features of the hearing aids are good. But I have a Samsung Fold phone and I didn't realize that the Eargo wouldn't work with it. So I have to either give up the earphones or I’d go out and buy another phone that's not the model that I have in order for the hearing aids to be fully functional, which was very disappointing. It's supposed to work with the lower-level phones from Samsung, but thus far, I haven't seen that. But it works fine with the iPhone. The other thing was there seemed to have been some problem with the charger, so I got to send the other charger back and get a new charger. That was done well. They had to do some tweaking after it got to me because the hearing aids were tuned to the first charger. Once they did the tweaking, everything seems to have been very good.

    I can listen to television at lower volumes with the hearing aids and that's a good thing. It's also good for general conversation. I don't miss parts of conversation anymore. I don't have to say, “Can you repeat that? What did you say?” So it works. I love Eargo's customer service and the doctor and the people who call back and set you up. The rep helped me through this whole thing. She kept extending my time for trial because I was having some questions, and it went well.

If there's something that I have to do a lot of intricate things to, I'm not real patient with it.     For my first-time purchase with Eargo, they examined with the one-to-one, but I did it over the phone. When I received the new Eargo, it didn't make any difference whether I'm wearing it or not. I even change from one to two, then a three to a four, but it doesn't make any difference. So I stopped wearing it. It's kind of a waste of my money.

    The people at Eargo are very, very nice. When I ask a question, they answer and explain to me. They are very pleasant to talk to. Their service is good. After I purchased the hearing aids, every so often they call me and send me a video on how to clean them. So aftercare is very good. But how could they know what hearing aid is good for me? Because they don't examine. They did it over the phone. With my first hearing aid, I went to the doctor's office and they examined very specifically. So they gave me exactly what I needed. But it was battery-operated and I had to change the battery every so often. With Eargo, you just plug it in. It was very convenient. So I switched to Eargo. But the product is not what I needed. I don't like it. I'm not satisfied with it. For $1,500 I paid, I don't know what I paid for.

    My hearing aids did not fit me well and were very uncomfortable. I couldn't use them. It needed to be adjusted far greater than Eargo could provide. And also, in-ear was not the best for my type of hearing loss. It ended up blocking some of the hearing that I have naturally.     I have been very pleasantly surprised by the comfort, performance and support I've had during my first month with the Eargo 6. While I have never worn hearing aids before, I am sufficiently vain enough to know that I only really wanted to wear a device that was virtually invisible. When I received them, I initially informed only a few of those closest to me that I was wearing them. Needing to wear a hearing aid doesn't bother me any more than wearing glasses/contact lenses and I've been doing that for over 50 years, but I wanted to get a sense of the "before and after" without any confirmation bias affecting my opinion.

    Customer service has been extremely helpful both during the initial purchase as well as during a follow-up with a hearing specialist who was able to fine-tune my initial setup along with advising me which petals would work best with my situation. Most of my problems occur in crowded/noisy situations (bowling alley, restaurants) and I really like the ability to tailor the Eargo to allow me to hear conversations that were problematic. One particular friend of mine (Dan) has a voice which is mostly lower frequencies to begin with, so hearing him while bowling was a recurring problem. I'm happy to say that I can hear Dan much more clearly this year. When I confided in him that I was now wearing the Eargo, he asked me to share that info with two similarly-aged teammates who also have trouble hearing him!

    Most of the adjustment has been reconditioning my ears to the new frequencies that I haven't been hearing in years. Certain frequencies still cause some metallic "ringing" and I'm not sure if that's an adjustment that I'm still growing accustomed to or one that might need a tweak or two. Suffice to say, I'm very happy with the Eargo 6.

    I decided to try Eargo, after a neighbor tried them. They work great, fit great, the Eargo specialist work with you to get the best fit. The customer service, cannot be beat. They help you in every way needed, and quickly. My mother in law got hers at Costco, and she wishes she had gotten hers from Eargo, hers fit outside the ear, and she has to go back to Costco, wait in line and try to fix them -I.e. the adjustments if needed etc. Eargo's specialists can literally do it with a phone call or email, and they teach you how to- but if you can’t get it right, like me-I just emailed or texted.     I like the flexibility with being able to tune the Eargo hearing aids myself. However, the hearing aids are fragile. Eargo has already replaced one set for free.     I have found the EARGO 6 to be a HUGE improvement over my previous "behind the ear" hearing aids. I wear glasses and along with a covid mask. The old type hearing aids were always in the way or being pulled off with the mask. The convenience of the EARGO 6 being in the ear and out of the way is wonderful. They have really improved my 76 year old hearing much more than the behind the ear ones did. Sounds are clear and with the built in ability to create a sound profile for each of my ears makes these truly fully custom to my needs.

    Being able to fine tune all of the important setting with the app instead of having to get an appointment with an audiologist. The plus of having the really excellent support of Eargo's people makes these units the best available for my needs. Being an Engineer I ask a lot of technical questions and have had all of them answered promptly, usually by the person I was talking to - their people have a wide knowledge of hearing aids and auditory interfacing.     The charging system is terrible; I bought these in June 2021. The charging system never worked from the beginning. But to get a replacement charger I had to call, text, and email at least a dozen times. Then finally, they agreed to replace the charger but not until I sent the old charger to them. Meaning I would be without hearing aides for a week. After begging, they agreed to send the charger if I promised to return the one that did not work. A little over a year from the purchase date, I cannot change the preset programs, and they will not keep a charge. After my first experience with support, I decided to trash them and purchase another brand. Don't buy. You will regret it.

    The Eargo hearing aids are more discreet in terms of the fitting and they don't cost as much as other standard behind the ear hearing aids. Eargo improves my hearing. I pick up higher frequency sounds that I normally wouldn't hear. When I'm outside, I hear birds chirping. Otherwise, I wouldn't hear. I had scheduled an appointment early on right after I’ve gotten my hearing aids for somebody to review with me the setup, how they were working and fine tuning them. They canceled that appointment at the last minute. I would have liked, at least, a phone call with more lead time on that one. The other thing they could do a better job at is periodically following up with people at certain intervals to check on them and see how they're doing. I feel that they leave you out there on your own. I know I can call them back but I still think it would have been good from a customer service standpoint to generate some follow-up phone calls. But overall, their customer support is good.

    My Eargo hearing aids are good. I get a little tired of cleaning them all the time, but you have to do that with all of them. With the previous ones I had, I didn't like that the battery was on the outside and it went around the back of your ear. They were just a pain in the neck. If a battery goes dead in a week's time, you're going to spend a heck of a lot of money on batteries. And they weren't cheap. The ones I got now are 100% better. I like the fact that they charge up the batteries themselves and they’re small.

    I returned the hearing aids within the trial period. That was my first experience with that kind of hearing device, and while I liked the benefit, they were completely in my ear canal. My ear canal on the right is much bigger than the one on the left, and every time I used the hearing aids, my wife wound up having to get the tweezers to pull that thing out of my head. I'm new to the device, so it itched and I would put my finger up there. Every time, I would jam that thing down farther and farther until it would slip past the point of me being able to get it, so I would come to my wife with the tweezers and she's like, "Again?"

    I travel for work, and there's no way I can be on the road in a hotel without my wife and this thing stuck in my ear. I tried the bigger earpieces and it still didn't work. Apart from that, Eargo's follow up, explanations, and in-service training were a 5. I dealt with a couple of different people, and they were thorough and no gimmicks. It was a good experience, but the product didn't work for me even though they worked properly.

    When I put my Eargos in, they were absolutely excellent, and I was very pleased with them. At the moment though, there’s something wrong with my right Eargo. After 15 to 20 minutes, it starts clicking and jumping from one volume to another. That started happening two weeks ago. I thought it was from moisture or something got in there, so I left the device on charge, hoping anything would just dissipate. I tried the device yesterday, and it lasted 30 minutes. It was right back to its old self doing the same old thing. It's absolutely useless and I intended to call up about it.

    I haven't had my Eargos that long, and my right Eargo didn't last that long. Now, I have my old hearing aid in my right ear. On the other hand, my left Eargo is working perfect, and I have no problem with that at all. The hearing is very good, and there's very little regenerative feedback, if any at all. The volume controls are right on the money too. I can bring them up where I want them, and that's quite simple. I also like the idea of being able to get on my iPhone and set the frequency response to them.

    I liked the fact that with Eargo, it was in-the-ear and there was an app to control the volume. I returned my initial hearing aids because there was a buzzing in the ear that had the most severe hearing loss. Although I couldn't hear it, somebody that was standing or sitting next to me could hear it. Anybody that I spoke with at Eargo was great. They tried adjusting the hearing aid from their end and my end. In the end, the technician felt it was just the particular type of aid that probably wasn't conducive to my loss.

    Now, I have an over-the-ear aid, which now I'm having trouble with because I wear glasses and headbands and it's starting to irritate me. I was gonna go to Eargo today because the hearing aid is a little bit difficult to get in as well. When I took the aid out, the little end part on it stayed in my ear. It was too big and Eargo didn't have the correct size when I was there.

    I get a lot of feedback from the hearing aids that I got from Eargo and sometimes it's way too loud. So, I only wear one at a time. I don't wear both of them at the same time because with both of them on, it's too loud. I hear things the best with them when I'm watching TV. but if I'm out in public wearing them, I don't get a whole lot out of it. I also can't get the Sound Matches feature down right because Eargo tells me to turn my phone down to low, then I have turn it back up, then I don't hear my phone ringing and I miss phone calls. But other than that, Eargo's reps have been helpful.

    Before getting the Eargo hearing aid, I could function on a day-to-day basis. As of right now, speaking on speakerphone, I do not have the apparatuses in my ear. So, I was not even remotely close to being deaf. However, my day-to-day life was impacted and daily conversation by a lot of having family repeat themselves. The rep was very articulate and helpful, and the quality in the articulate speech of the sales representative was great. But my first problem with Eargo was I had great difficulty in understanding the quality of speech coming from the people who were handling the problems. When I purchased the product, they said that the upgraded digital version was not going to be ready for 12 weeks. I was far down the rabbit hole so I let it happen.

    When I finally got the product, one of the two earpieces was not charging at all. I spent dollars on a one year no-questions-asked replacement policy so I told them to send me another one. But they wanted me to wait. They said that they leave the hearing aids on to completely discharge it, then hold the button in for 12 seconds and then turn around and charge them for two days. The hearing aids come in a very slick little black rechargeable box for recharging the earpieces. There are two stations for the right one and for the left. When you put the earpiece in, the lights turn green. Then, when they're charged, the lights either go out or they just get to a very dim green. In any case, the light has never gone out on the blue one. So, I'm looking at it right now and the light still has been on for the entire time I've had these in my hand.

    If you push the volume button in and release, that changes the volume. If you push the button in and hold it for three seconds, it'll beep or it'll double beep or it'll triple beep. In other words, if I'm listening to TV, I might only want the one beep. If I'm listening to the TV and there's a fan on in the room, I might have to go to the triple beep and the TV quality backs out. I spent $400-ish and it's almost not even worth putting them in my ears anymore. They're such a pain in the neck, up and down. I'm not very happy with Eargo and if I had more confidence in me remaining professional and calm, I'm almost considering contacting the company and using the extra warranty that I purchased.

    Something else I would like to bring forth is that Eargo advertised a CIC rechargeable, which is the one that seems to get the most airtime on TV advertisements and they always run a special. I supposedly have one called the CIC digital, which was where it started getting a little bit shaky. The rep said it has improved but they are still showing the inexpensive CIC. Eargo is probably having the product made somewhere else, which is fine, and from the phone calls that I made and the similarities to the people I've spoken with in the customer service end of it, it's almost like it's a family-type business. Their sales department is not a part of their family. I'm gonna give it another try. I've got time to exercise the 100% return policy.

    Eargo was the first set of hearing aids that I had. According to my audiologist, they're hearing amplifiers, not so much a hearing aid. So, they would pick up more background noise. If I was in a room by myself watching TV or talking to my wife, that would cause a static, other than the TV would interfere with some of my ability to hear. I am on Medicare and Social Security Disability so I talked to them and they suggested me to go to Hear.com, which I did.

    My wife contacted somebody in reference to what to do about how to get the Eargo hearing aids returned and we sent them back. They rep said they have a different product that they would send out. But by the time I heard back from Eargo, I already had my regular hearing aids I'm using now. Eargo would be good for certain people in certain circumstances like somebody who was probably in home health care type setting where everything is on low key level for that type of hearing aid situation. They worked okay in the beginning but they turned out to be more of a hassle.

    I'm enjoying the Eargo hearing aids. I had a pair of prescription hearing aids that were over the back of the ear and I hear better with these than I do those. So, I'm very pleased with them. I would brag about them to anybody. In church, I couldn't understand the pastor. There are some voices in some ranges that I still have a little bit of trouble with. But I can hear most ranges better now than I did. The rep called me to see how I was doing. I already replaced the battery because the thing instructed me to and the rep said that there was a lot of them that was getting that, and Eargo sent me a whole box of them. The reps I've talked to has been extremely nice. I went online to see how much the tips and the little black caps were. They’re expensive. They’re $45 a shot and I don't know if I'm gonna be able to afford to purchase them. So, I'm taking good care of the two I've got.

    I like a lot of the features of the Eargo 6 model but I don't like that the charging station is only good for one charge and the charge for the charging pod itself only lasts one day. So, even if you don't have it plugged in, it dies on its own and it's only good for one charge. Whereas I'd leave my Neos for three weeks and the pod was still charged and the devices were still charged in it. So, the longevity of the charging pod on the 6s is substandard, considering the 6s is the top of the line. It's shocking that it's only good for 14 hours.

    As for the hearing part, the 6 has different features but I wouldn't say it's better than the previous ones I had. I also don't like that when the volume gets up, there's a lot of digital feedback and it almost screams in your ears with its high pitch. And that happens even after it's set to my hearing. Even though it has bass and treble settings, the bass isn't that great and the treble is more enhanced. I asked the person at Eargo about it when they were contacting me to make sure I knew how to do everything on the hearing aid and I was told that that's just the way it is. Whereas the Neos, which is retail or not even half the price of the 6s, even though it had super basic functions, the quality of the sound is better. I was a little disappointed since the 6 was the best of the Eargo line and the fidelity is not that great. It's also much more sensitive than the Neos were.

    I’ve been using a hearing aid in one ear and Eargo could not even turn it up loud enough to help me. I don't have any bone in that ear. I had a virus get in there and it ate my bone away. That was three years ago. I’ve been using a hearing aid just in that ear and then, my hearing in the other ear also went down significantly. I have a regular hearing aid but the other hearing aid is on the outside of the ear and I needed something inside the ear so that I don’t get the wind noise going through. So, Eargo seemed like the option. It's not as good as a regular hearing aid but it's not bad. The interaction with the guy who originally set it up for me was excellent.

    The Eargo 6 is a great device. Hearing aid quality is superb and they are so small that you can't see them. I would highly recommend them to anyone who has a 'thing' about wearing hearing aids but know that they need some help. Check with your insurance plan first to see if they cover (mine covered 100%) and then you must file the claim on your own, which in my case with Blue Cross was really easy. I had my refund in 2 weeks.

    I really like the Eargo 6, which replaced a behind-the-ear set I bought a few years back. I'm still wearing masks because of Coronavirus, and I were glasses, and there simply wasn't enough room behind my ears for hearing aids. Now I don't have to worry about it. I also like how small they are and virtually invisible. Rechargeable batteries are another nice feature. No more changing batteries every few days. Initially, I couldn't get the Bluetooth sync to work, so Eargo quickly replaced them. Now I've had them a month or so and really like them. I still have some relatively minor problems with high frequency distortion, but a company audiologist has been working with me to find a solution.

    I am now on my second set of Eargo hearing aids (currently Eargo 6, previously Eargo 4). I have also purchased and used much more expensive high-end hearing aids from Phonak and Oticon. I can honestly say that Eargo has been the best by far for me. I love not worrying about a wire over the ear getting caught in face masks, hats, glasses, etc, I love the invisibility. Best of all, hearing improvement is as good or better than the other models. Support was excellent. I took the hearing test but then got an additional fine tuning assist from an Eargo audiologist (my hearing in one ear was much worse than the other). ** My only negative, which I hope Eargo will pay attention to: I still get calls from Eargo marketers asking if I'm interested in purchasing.     The sound of my Eargo hearing aid is a little bit mechanical, not purely digital. It’s a little bit unnatural. The second problem that I had was a lot of chiming. I’m trying to make an adjustment with the volume and noise filter. Otherwise, the chiming is still disturbing. But it only happens in the right year. Left year though, it hasn't caused any problem. But the quality is good. I am able to communicate much better with other people and talk back and forth and do some arguments with lawyers and other professional people.

    I shopped for at least three years for hearing aids. My hearing loss was classified as moderate, but I knew I still needed help. More and more people were having to repeat themselves to me. When I landed at my audiologist’s office for an assessment and recommendation, I told her I really wanted an in-the-canal device, so it would not be seen. She immediately told me that I would not like it and the sound would not be good. “She’s the expert”, so I bought the wrap around ear type device. When I went to my fitting, I IMMEDIATELY didn’t like them. They were flimsy, would fall off the back of my ear, and worse…you could see them because of my short hair. So, I was stuck with them.

    I wore them a few months, but after having to constantly reinstall a new battery, and the fact that anyone would notice and see that I was wearing a hearing aid, I quit wearing them. I’m really not vain, it’s just that it was so conspicuous. It always felt like there was something fragile on my ear that the wind would blow off at any moment.

    Speed up a couple of years and after studying and researching the best I could, I ordered an EARGO sample kit. They were actually “the” devices, with no circuitry or “guts” to them. You could put them in your ear, and feel the fit, and the invisible effect of the in-the-canal type device. It was great, immediately. After calling EARGO and asking a million questions, and then calling back again to ask more questions, I finally placed my order. I was scared. I had already spent thousands of dollars. What if this was just another purchase with “pie-in-the-sky” promises?!!!! “It probably was”, I thought.

    My EARGO 6’s came quickly in the mail! I was excited, but very skeptical. They had promised my complete satisfaction or my money back. They had promised if I had any problems, there would be a technical person or audiologist to help me through any problems. They had promised they would exchange any device that wasn’t working properly. They had promised they would “hold my hand” through any problem, with a warranty of three years! It was too good to be true.

    SO...I put them in the self-charging cradle to “sync” and charge for a few hours. I literally was pacing the floor with excitement to put them in. The little “ready” light let me know “it was THE time”! I put them in each ear and heard the voice that they were “ready”. BAM! Instantly, the sounds in the room were beautiful! Immediately, I noticed how rich voices and music were. I noticed the higher tones and the lower tones that I had been missing were there. It felt like when you see those people who put on color blind glasses for the first time. They are in awe of the colors. That’s sort of the same thing I experienced, only with sound.

    I was assigned my own audiologist, Dr. Ashley **. She reached out to me and made an appointment to walk through the installation, syncing, and setup of my devices. She not only was kind and patient with me, she was aware of my audiogram, and helped me make program adjustments that were designed specifically for “my” needs. She has since, been available by phone or email at any time I needed her. Ok. You may say, “everything went well for you, you’re just lucky”. No, I had several problems and she resolved them. I even had a problem she wasn’t satisfied that really resolved an issue. She had new devices sent to me to replace the ones that had the problem! I really couldn’t believe the service and the immediate action that was taken!

    I wanted to sit down and write this sooner, but I also wanted to wait and see if EARGO was too good to be true. Nope. They’re really as good as their promise, and I highly recommend them. The sound is great, they’re invisible, their service and warranty promise has been kept, and I love them! I’m writing this because I needed this kind of information from a user to help me in my decision making process. Thank you Ashley. Thank you EARGO.

    I have a pair of Eargo 6, I was really happy with them. Turns out that by mistake someone throw away my cleaning tool that came with the kit, I said to myself, don’t worry, you just need to call and order a new one. Wrong, they don’t carry that little tool… When I called in to ask, because it wasn’t on the web page, they told me “buy a soft toothbrush and it will work better”. There are some tiny holes that needs to be cleaned and the tool was marvelous to do the job. Now I don’t have anything proper to do it, and for a devices that cost almost $3000 what I spect is to have full back up from the factory.

    I was about to order new petals and mic caps, but I will use the ones that I have until they don’t work anymore and then I will switch to another brand. It’s a shame because the devices work fine if your hearing loss it’s not severe, but what can we expect from a company that doesn’t have the cheapest part of a kit when it comes the moment that you need the expensive ones? Honestly I don’t recommend this brand, not because the product doesn’t work, it does, but there aren’t any warranty that they will have the parts when you need them.

    I only had my Eargo for less than a month and I've already sent them back. They don’t work for me. There was too much feedback on the sound. It kept squealing and squawking. The sound quality was bad. It sounded like I was in a tin can all the time, everything was real tinny sounding, and nothing that they did seem to help. The app that I could put on my phone didn't help at all.

    I was really disappointed. I got the newest, most up-to-date one that they offered, thinking that it would make it even better. But it did not. But I tried to make it work. I got really irritated with my customer service representative that kept calling me. She said, “Your brain just gotta get retrained.” I said, “No, it's not just my brain. I understand we hear with our brain, but the quality of the sound is very bad.” At first, they were extremely too loud. I had to take them out when I went in the car because I couldn’t stand whenever my husband would talk. It was so loud, it hurt. No matter how much I try to turn them down, they won’t go down enough.

    I got really irritated with her because she kept wanting to say I wasn't patient enough. I got to wear them enough. I said, “I do wear them from the time I get up till the time I go to bed, unless I’m in a small area, and the sound is so loud that I cannot stand it." She really wouldn’t listen to me and she was on vacation the week that I had them on trial. So, I talked with someone else. They put them on a setting where it was a manufacturer’s setting and that made it a little bit better, but they were still too loud. We tried the different tips and that didn’t make a difference.

    I have worn behind the ear hearing aids for 5 years. I have had frustration with performance and service from 2 manufacturers of hearing aids.     I am writing this review so that everyone that has tried hearing aids in the past will know what I'm talking about frustration and hope this review will steer them in the right direction. I have tried five different hearing aids, from those prescribed by my local Doctor to ones I have bought online. The first ones were $2600 EACH, and I was told I would love them. They had great technology, and they were fine, except I could hear myself talk and all the in my head noises no matter what I did. So I returned them and ordered three different pairs online. They were ranging from 150-250. All of them were, let's say, just ok.

    I then decided to research the full hearing aids 2022 online. Eargo was #2, but we're hearing aids that fit in the ear and were not noticeable. The #1 was like the ones I tried first with the piece that hung over the ear. I decided to try the Eargo 6 after a reply call I received from one of the specialists and that they made them virtually invisible in the ears and had an option for more open ear tips that would not cause as much feedback. I received them very quickly, and they come with a 45-day trial that if I did not like them, I could return them for a refund, just like I did on the other four.

    Here is what I have experienced. Perfect fit, excellent construction, far superior support calls me every week and answers my questions. Significant amplification even with my hearing that has no upper end. No replacement Batteries, a fantastic charging system, and a pretty good app that helps you control them. I'M SOLD!!     I like the size of the Eargo hearing aid. I have the 6 and it seems to be working as advertised. It does everything I want it to do. It's a good product. The only feature I wish it had was a Bluetooth capability. But the main reason I went with the Eargo is that it fits inside the ear instead of behind the ear. With everyone having to wear a mask for the past two years, and I work at a hospital, I was constantly pulling my hearing aids off because of the earpieces on the mask. So, it definitely benefited from that. Also, everyone has been great at Eargo.     Initially, I wasn't even a candidate for the Eargo hearing aids when they first came out. But I took their hearing test and they thought that they could work with me. It seemed like there was positive stuff to their service and support over the time I followed them on the internet. The guy that I deal with is Juan. Every time I call him, he seems like he can help me out. I like his determination. I call him a lot because sometimes I can’t seem to hear what I think I should hear. He’s knowledgeable enough to tell me that some things, I’m not gonna hear, like the high pitches. Plus, he’s knowledgeable enough to know that there are things that he can adjust and fix.

    Right now, they’re sending me a new pair of hearing aids because I’m not satisfied with how the Eargo 6 is reacting all of a sudden. If I had a little more control over the volume, I would be a lot more satisfied. But for the technology they put in this, it does well. They told me that if we both decide that it’s not working out for me, then we go a different route. They don’t just quit and give up on me, and say, “We can’t help your hearing.”

    I bought my Eargo 6 through Amazon because I had trouble running the credit card on the website. I've been getting support even though I bought it from a vendor. These hearing aids seem to be working well. They have Bluetooth too. Learning how to make the adjustments quickly either with a tap or going through the app on the phone works very well. Sometimes the hearing aids would irritate me when I get them a little bit too far in. I just pull them back out a little bit. You got a little itch in there but that's about it.

    I'm using the Eargo as a transient replacement for my over-the-ear ReSound, which are true hearing aids. The Eargo has served the purpose. I like the price and the fact that it was in the ear and some of the features, like the programming.

    I've been an EARGO customer for several months I started out with the Neo Hi Fi and about 2 months ago got the Eargo 6. The quality of my hearing is so incredible now they have a new program called sound match and it's made such a positive difference in my life. As a retired law enforcement officer I didn't always use proper hearing protection and after 23 yrs I thought that was as good as I would ever be able to hear again. But thanks to Eargo and the time they take with you to help you to set them up and use them properly they have given me part of my life back I thought was gone forever.     I'm very satisfied with Eargo 6. Going in, I had my hearing tested and I've been told I have profound hearing loss. I talked to the people there at Eargo but they said, “Ours aren’t really designed for that.” It'd be nice to hear everything but I don't feel like I need to. My biggest loss is my higher decibel ranges. There are sounds that I cannot hear. If you leave our refrigerator door open, it's got a little alarm that goes off and I can't hear it standing right next to it. Even with the Eargo, I still, a lot of time, can't hear it. But they work really well for conversation and most sounds, and that's really what I was after.

    The main reason I went with them instead of considering others, was the rechargeability. The ones that I had before had batteries and they were a nuisance. You always had to carry a battery with you ‘cause you never knew when they were gonna go dead. Also, I like being able to control the volume and modes from my phone. Their customer service has also been really good. The first call I got right after I got them, I knew it was coming in but we unexpectedly went out to dinner with some friends and I cut them off short a little bit. They were very friendly and ended up calling me back later.

    I saw the advertising for Eargo and thought it looked like a good possibility. I ordered the hearing aids and there are the ones that go in the ear canal. I have a very small ear canal and they wouldn't fit. They wouldn't stay in there properly and just didn't do the job. I couldn't tell that much difference between having the hearing aids in and not having them in. I didn't have that much hearing loss that it made that much of an effect. Those hearing aids didn't work for me so I sent them back. Customer service was helpful in terms of trying to talk me through it and the possibilities. They were very polite. But on the whole, I was dissatisfied with the hearing aids. The return process was easy. They sent me a label, I put it all back together, taped that label onto it, and threw it in the mail.

    I had purchased an expensive pair of hearing aids that were over the ear. I wear glasses and every time my glasses move, I would get interference. When I saw the advertisement for Eargo where they can stay totally in my ear, I decided I would try them. Customer service was excellent. Overall, I've got mixed reactions to my hearing aids. I like the design but I'm having a little bit of trouble getting the ear canal to adapt to them without pain. I just have to get through the transition. Other than that, I like them.

    I wanted to make my hearing aids work. However, when I spoke with the audiologist about the difficulties that I was having, she stated that they probably were not going to work for me because I have very narrow ear canals and they did not have one of the blossoms or bugs that would fit and keep the device in my ear. They kept popping out so I had to return them. Customer service was very helpful. If the hearing aids fit, I would've kept them. I wish the Eargo hearing aids can be designed so that they would accommodate someone with a narrow ear canal.

    My husband has severe hearing loss. The young lady that helped us, in the beginning, told us that he was on the borderline. But we decided to try them and it didn't work out. We returned them and everything went very smoothly. They were nice. They did exactly what they said and refunded us. We were very satisfied with them. We would recommend them to someone that doesn't have the severe hearing loss that he has.

    The tv commercial caught my eye and my attention when I saw the actual Eargo 6 for the first time. I had a pair of hearing aids with the clumsy “behind-the-ear” plastic unit, the uncomfortable clear wire that goes over the ear and connects to the clear rubber piece that “fits” in the ear canal. It was considered the latest technology and I was attracted by the “rechargeable” feature and not having to deal with batteries.

    I was quickly disappointed with the overall lack of performance, the number of pieces to deal with, the visibility factor, the problem of the hearing aids being pulled off of my ears and falling when I removed a face mask, and, above all, the poor quality of hearing or ability to adjust for background noise, etc. And, no phone app so no ability to adjust programs, volume, or noise filter, as is easily done with the Eargo 6. I couldn’t be more pleased with the performance, adjustment ability, recharge ability, invisibility, and overall comfort of the Eargo 6 and the support provided is phenomenal. I can’t recommend a hearing aid more highly. ~Chet **.
