Disgusting place to spend your money!! DON'T DO IT! THIS IS THE WORSE OF THE WORSE FURNITURE TO SHOP! Even corporate offices are horrible. They take your money, promise you everything and then they don't provide what they are supposed to and say to you, "Oh well too bad so sad", I had a big problem in Plant City FL with the sales rep Jim and manager Joshua.
They bitterly didn't care for any of their wrong doings that was done by them making me spend a large amount of money on a 3rd party to pick up my furniture and then when he got there they said, "Oh sorry your items was entered wrong in the system and they are not avail for pick" and showed no remorse of compensation for the situation from Jim or Joshua or corporate, this place needs rot shut down asap and. Also Sales rep Jim and manager Joshua needs to fired asap in plant city, please please please don't shop here, I'm talking this to bug social media platforms to let the world know that City Furniture is the worse place to shop..

Guess when it happens for a third time, it's an issue between City Furniture & us. :) Bad luck! Yes, we shopped here for the third time, this time for a mattress & foundation board. Showroom, service, sales people- all excellent, delivery happens, mattress well seal-wrapped and fine, but something as basic as a foundation spring box badly ripped right in the middle. Product continues to not be checked before delivery, a hit to the company's profitability I would imagine. Note- we have also ordered other furniture from Baer's & Matter Bros. furniture, perfect every time!! City has plenty to catch-up around service after sales. Unfortunate.

My experience thus far has nothing to do with the furniture but everything to do with the lack of professionalism by the salesperson Kirk **. He did not walk around the showroom with me to help with a purchase. Instead, he sat on his butt, was on his phone and drank his drink marking up the floor samples with cup rings. After calling him about 2 questions, he likes to insult my intelligence with is lame excuses for calling me back; all done via text messaging. Hence, he never returns my calls.
First, I purchased an organic mattress and at the time of purchase he and Star, the mattress "expert", both declined to inform me of a need for a bunkie board; the delivery people informed me. In fact, the delivery man said, "the salespeople never have the customer get a bunkie board." When I called about this, Kirk said he would get back to me; I had to call back several times. Finally, he said yes, I need one. When I called the manufacturer of the mattress and they asked me several questions about the platform and informed me that there was no need for one. The salespeople should know their background information; NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE!!!
The other item was to see if there could be a credit due to a text I received about free premium delivery. The response back was, "I will get back to you," no response and still no response as of this review. I called to lodge a complaint, and I was told that the manager would reply. No reply from him either. If the manager does not set a good example and instill good customer service, then all I can deduce is that they got their commission and that is what is important. I will say that customer service is very accommodating and helpful. They reassured me that if there is a problem with the furniture to go through them.

We purchased a sectional sofa from City Furniture on July 4, 2025, with delivery on July 25, 2025. Within several months of normal residential use, the sectional developed significant defects, including: Severe rippling and deformation of the seat cushions, resulting in reduced comfort and support. Fabric that appears dingy and does not clean properly, despite being advertised as stain- and moisture-resistant. A cup holder component that does not remain secured on its track and frequently falls off. These issues developed gradually over time, consistent with latent defects—problems not immediately visible at delivery but caused by flaws in materials, manufacturing, or design.
I submitted a warranty claim on January 17, 2026. On January 19, 2026, I was informed that the claim would be denied because the issue was allegedly “not reported on time.” This rationale is unreasonable for several reasons: The sectional is well within the 12-month manufacturer warranty. Warranties are intended to cover defects that appear during the warranty period, including gradual or progressive failures—not only issues visible immediately upon delivery. The defects described are not consistent with normal wear and tear. Reporting the problem once it became unacceptable is reasonable; most consumers would not report minor or slowly developing issues immediately.
The sectional was sold as a $4,600 product marketed as durable and stain-resistant, creating a reasonable expectation that it would perform far beyond six months. In addition to the express warranty, the product is also subject to implied warranties under Florida law, including the implied warranty of merchantability, which requires that goods be fit for ordinary residential use and last a reasonable period of time.
City Furniture sent a service technician to inspect the sectional on January 22, 2026. The technician confirmed that the condition of the furniture was not consistent with normal wear and tear after only 5.5 months of use. He further stated that the damage was due to poor quality and manufacturing defects, that the issues were irreparable, and that the sectional could not be repaired. He also confirmed that a hinge inside the cup holder was broken, which explains why it does not function properly.
The technician indicated he would relay these findings to City Furniture. Shortly thereafter, I received a voicemail stating that the technician could not repair the issue and that City Furniture would not be able to move forward. During that same voicemail, it was also stated—incorrectly—that the damage occurred on the day of delivery. This is completely false and has never been claimed or suggested by me. Based on this experience, I am extremely disappointed with City Furniture’s handling of a clear warranty issue on an expensive product and would caution other consumers to carefully consider their warranty practices before purchasing.

Very poor in regard to honesty and whether your product is actually available in full when you purchase. Had one table hauled off day prior to delivery then only table top showing up! Have been using a card table for a month. Rest of table couldn’t be confirmed to arrive until 2 mos later! No one wants to cancel my order and kept saying it was cancelled and I was refunded when I wasn’t. This happened twice and just called a third time. Finally got a “refund” email.

The worst of the worst. Buyers beware. These people are very fraudulent. They will take advantage of you and your credit line. Do not be fooled by their sales personnel. The owners are a joke and Synchrony Bank should not fund this store as a line of creditors. I was charged almost $11,000.00 for something I did not purchase and when I contested the bill I was told by the owners I was getting it anyway. If I didn't pay they would ruin my credit. They claim I was in their store a day before I ever stepped foot in their store.
Also I was told I had buyers remorse. When I tried to resolve this matter the same day it was brought to my attention. I was refused the common courtesy . As I set there for hours in their store being ignored by the merchant of Furniture City at 601 Sunland Park Drive El Paso Texas 79912 that was to closing its doors for good. I see they are now in Albuquerque New Mexico. May the Good Lord Shut them all down is my only prayer for this Merchant. Sincerely Ms. **

We used City Moves, FL because we received a $1,500 credit with our purchase. Unfortunately, one of the movers, Morris, was very rude and created tension during the move while I was recording. He could have simply asked me politely why I was recording, but instead he said in a confrontational tone, “Is there a reason why you’re recording, ma’am?!”

First time (11/22/25) at City Furniture to purchase a bed. The dept. manager would meet the other store's price and give a tv and a set of sheets but told me the deal was only good for today. I said I would go home and check the height of my bed and call back. I called back and they reneged on the deal---told me the bed on the website of the other store was $3399 and not $3499 so they wouldn't hold to the plan. I was looking at the site and the bed for $3499 is right in plain site for $3499. So they wouldn't honor the deal. The old bait and switch or 3 card monte. I will never go there and after reading all the complaints I am surprised that they remain in business. Thank goodness I didn't buy anything and never will.

City Furniture is basically a cookie store in disguise. Because let’s be real — the cookies are the most solid, well-built items in the entire building. The furniture? Questionable at best. The return policy? Unquestionable — once you buy it, congratulations, you’re the new owner forever. Hope you like commitment. After my experience, I don’t shop here anymore. I just show up, casually wander around like I’m making a big purchase, grab a cookie, and leave. Honestly, it’s become part of my weekly cardio. 10/10 for snacks, 1/10 for everything else.

We bought a sectional that cost over 4K. The reason we came in person was so that we could get Professional assistance in regards to how the piece would fit in our space. Unfortunately the sales person didn’t advise us that it’s recommended to have at lead 3 feet of space around couch for walking by. I found it on Google after the fact.
When I called to ask JD and the manager James for assistance with at least reconfiguring the sectional they told me I have to call corporate. What’s the point of having a sales person if they don’t give advice on placement and help after the fact? I could have shipped online but I wanted to support the local economy and start a working relationship with a store for future purchases. We can’t even reconfigure on our own because it’s all wired for surround sound. I’m just looking for some assistance and they are like; "This happened all the time. Call corporate." I’m not even looking for a refund. Just some help. How about a little help and kindness here?

My wife and I purchase from the clearance house of City Furniture corporate in Tamarac. Last Saturday we purchased a $700 mattress that would cost $100 to be delivered in their 5 mile radius at 12:30 to 330 on the 14th. We explain to our salesman Tony that he would need to use my Mobile as my wife is in an area that cannot receive calls during the day and that I would be taking off from work to make sure that I was there. We also reviewed all the information demographic and contact and of course the credit card transaction went through because it was the correct billing address.
I tried to confirm as it reached the afternoon if everything was ago since there was a since of disorganization within the company and I made sure that they had the correct billing address which is the delivery address more than five times we receive the text saying he was on his way that it would be the fifth stop and this was after 3:30 but before five and he would be here in 20 minutes and I was outside in the parking waiting for him and I tried to get him to call my number which was on the document however he only spoke Spanish and felt comfortable speaking to my wife and then out of nowhere we get a text saying first a different excuse.
But then said he had come and parked in front of my house for 22 minutes where I was actually physically sitting and that because it was called a no-show by the customer they usually bring it back to the warehouse and charge a restocking fee even if it's the fault of City and of course having their driver create an incredible scenario which he never came close to and then they said their address after confirming it all day long was only 1102 instead of 11102 and that can't be either because the charge would've been declined and they did have the correct address as I had taken the time to confirm it not once, not twice but five times when they were coming here.
So this is all a created scenario to seek restocking fees and when I got on with the customer service NAVOOM who is very hard to understand and I don't think she understood me said OK we realize it's not just the restocking you do not wish to pay for the delivery as you had missed work and I will send you an email in writing. But instead of waiving the delivery fee as she had verbally told me over the phone she kept referring again to an additional charge of restocking after this was clearly an undelivered mattress and a delivery man trying to cover himself and saying he had been sitting in front of my address for 22 minutes to my wife and refused to call me at the phone number he had for the delivery

I can't rate bad enough this company, avoid purchasing anything from here. Short story then push you to buy this warranty that suppose to be no question ask. And then when you put a claim only one month after purchase, no one seem to help. My sectional are 6 month old and the leather looks like 10 year old. The tech claim to be normal that a couch looks shrink and have gaps between leather and cushions. Again this is a $3500 sectional purchase with warranty and they are not doing anything to fixed. Also they said that they only have one tech assisting to my area which you will have to stick with his opinion. DON'T PURCHASE HERE<.

The Sarasota Store is beautiful and our salesman, Dee, did a great job in assisting us. We ordered two very large rugs for our home that were delivered last week. I only have two complaints regarding the delivery of these large rugs that were rolled up in plastic. Very strange but City Furniture in Sarasota Florida only does what’s called “threshold delivery“. For us senior citizens that’s a pretty difficult thing to drag in heavy rolled up large rugs into the house from the threshold. And the delivery guys put me on the phone with somebody at city furniture told me I only had 24 hours to call back if there was any problems with the two large rugs. I told her the rugs were rolled up in plastic, and I was not going to unroll them for several days because the interior of our home was being painted And I did not want paint to get on the rugs. I told her I have a problem with you wanting me to call back within 24 hours if there’s something wrong with the rugs.
With the large senior citizen population in Sarasota county and Southwest Florida having a threshold delivery for people that are up in age and have major health problems like me battling cancer, arthritis and heart problems, etc. I could really injure myself trying to pull two very very large rugs that are rolled up in plastic and pull them into my house from the threshold of the front door. That policy needs to be changed.

In November 2023, we made a purchase of some furniture Invoice# ** and under extreme insistence, they sold me a stain remover plan for three years. To my surprise, after they had me for about 30 minutes asking me in detail about the stains and when they occurred exactly, they told me that the type of stains I am reporting are not included and that they must have occurred within the last five days. Additionally, I reported that the backrest of the furniture is completely deformed, and the person's recommendation is that I call a technician, for which she can provide me with the number because it does not have any warranty. Unfortunately, it is incredible that a company of this magnitude intentionally scams customers by selling them these plans and also does not take responsibility for the quality of their furniture, which has a significant cost.

Don’t waste your money! They do not stand behind their product or their warranty they sell you! Our sectional is less than a year old and the charging ports are both broken and cannot be repaired. They offered a credit and shortly thereafter a seam on the armrest came undone called in again and they were supposed to send out a repairman two weeks later who was a No call No-show! Took the day off of work and lost hundreds of dollars for nothing! Called back and they’ve rescheduled him to come out another two weeks later, now this tiny scene has become a 9 inches! And again they were unable to repair!
They offered a refund for the couch but took away my $500 credit for the first issue and only gave me three days to find a new couch! It took me weeks if not months to finally purchase this couch to fit in my living room correctly! I ended up coming out of pocket an extra $1500 for their mistake and poor quality furniture! Customer service only offered a $100 credit! That is not acceptable! Please save yourself money and headaches and shop with a reputable store!

I was called a liar by the associate twice and he admitted that he called me a liar. I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor took about thirty minutes to review everything and came back with some low ball offer on a gift card that I declined. The customer service is appalling. Just over a year ago we purchased a Maytag Commercial washer from City Furniture. We had previously bought a Samsung fridge from them. We paid over $2,000 for the Maytag. We wanted a reliable washing machine because we have a golden retriever and go through a lot of very dirty towels and it was getting expensive to go to the laundromat. Recently the machine has been acting up and of course it is just out of warranty. It doesn't finish the cycle and when we try to put it on spin and drain it won't work. Basically the machine is useless. We called City Appliances who told us to call Whirlpool and all they would do is make us pay for a service call. The machine will go to the dump eventually. Don't buy a Maytag and don't deal with City Furniture because they sell garbage and have bad customer service.

After three years with no claims, I attempted to redeem my promised credit, only to be informed it had expired. City Furniture claims a letter was sent, but I never received any such notification.
