Buyer beware!!!! I purchased 2 leather rocker recliners from City Furniture. I tried to return them the day after delivery. They are very poor quality, they are wobbly and the back of the chair slips off if you try to move them. I don't even think they are real leather. If they are it's a very poor quality leather. I wish I had done my research before I shopped there. Their reviews are horrible. I will never shop at this store again DO NOT SHOP HERE. They do not allow any returns, if you are unhappy once they deliver the furniture you are out of luck and stuck with it.

Terrible quality, rude and almost threatening delivery people, delivered same damaged furniture twice like they were trying to pass it off as new then almost refused to take it and tried to convince me to have NEW FURNITURE BEING DELIVERED BY THE REPAIRED at a future date if I accepted it…while paying full price. Call the cops if they won’t take their delivery off your property. They will try to push it on you.

I can't rate bad enough this company, avoid purchasing anything from here. Short story then push you to buy this warranty that suppose to be no question ask. And then when you put a claim only one month after purchase, no one seem to help. My sectional are 6 month old and the leather looks like 10 year old. The tech claim to be normal that a couch looks shrink and have gaps between leather and cushions. Again this is a $3500 sectional purchase with warranty and they are not doing anything to fixed. Also they said that they only have one tech assisting to my area which you will have to stick with his opinion. DON'T PURCHASE HERE<.

The Sarasota Store is beautiful and our salesman, Dee, did a great job in assisting us. We ordered two very large rugs for our home that were delivered last week. I only have two complaints regarding the delivery of these large rugs that were rolled up in plastic. Very strange but City Furniture in Sarasota Florida only does what’s called “threshold delivery“. For us senior citizens that’s a pretty difficult thing to drag in heavy rolled up large rugs into the house from the threshold. And the delivery guys put me on the phone with somebody at city furniture told me I only had 24 hours to call back if there was any problems with the two large rugs. I told her the rugs were rolled up in plastic, and I was not going to unroll them for several days because the interior of our home was being painted And I did not want paint to get on the rugs. I told her I have a problem with you wanting me to call back within 24 hours if there’s something wrong with the rugs.

With the large senior citizen population in Sarasota county and Southwest Florida having a threshold delivery for people that are up in age and have major health problems like me battling cancer, arthritis and heart problems, etc. I could really injure myself trying to pull two very very large rugs that are rolled up in plastic and pull them into my house from the threshold of the front door. That policy needs to be changed.

In November 2023, we made a purchase of some furniture Invoice# ** and under extreme insistence, they sold me a stain remover plan for three years. To my surprise, after they had me for about 30 minutes asking me in detail about the stains and when they occurred exactly, they told me that the type of stains I am reporting are not included and that they must have occurred within the last five days. Additionally, I reported that the backrest of the furniture is completely deformed, and the person's recommendation is that I call a technician, for which she can provide me with the number because it does not have any warranty. Unfortunately, it is incredible that a company of this magnitude intentionally scams customers by selling them these plans and also does not take responsibility for the quality of their furniture, which has a significant cost.

Customer service says the construction was within manufacture specs so they would do nothing. Everyone who stops by makes a comment that the chair back is crooked. Very displeased City Furniture does not stand behind their furniture once sold. Highly advice to stay clear of their stores

Don’t waste your money! They do not stand behind their product or their warranty they sell you! Our sectional is less than a year old and the charging ports are both broken and cannot be repaired. They offered a credit and shortly thereafter a seam on the armrest came undone called in again and they were supposed to send out a repairman two weeks later who was a No call No-show! Took the day off of work and lost hundreds of dollars for nothing! Called back and they’ve rescheduled him to come out another two weeks later, now this tiny scene has become a 9 inches! And again they were unable to repair!

They offered a refund for the couch but took away my $500 credit for the first issue and only gave me three days to find a new couch! It took me weeks if not months to finally purchase this couch to fit in my living room correctly! I ended up coming out of pocket an extra $1500 for their mistake and poor quality furniture! Customer service only offered a $100 credit! That is not acceptable! Please save yourself money and headaches and shop with a reputable store!

The furniture is ok not great but ok. I paid for premium delivery. And they damaged my goods and did not mention it. I had to find it on my own. Had to take a day off so they could come out and repair it. When I called and inquired about a refund for the premium service that I did not receive. I was called a liar by the associate twice and he admitted that he called me a liar. I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor took about thirty minutes to review everything and came back with some low ball offer on a gift card that I declined. The customer service is appalling. They don't stand behind what they advertise that you pay for. I did not receive quality installation professional installation. That I paid $250 for that they would not refund. Again customer service really is bad really really really bad. Do not pay for premium delivery. They will destroy your items. DO NOT USE CITY FURNITURE AGAIN. DO NOT USE CITY FURNITURE.

They said I had to wait 21 days to break it in and to give it a chance. After 3 months I couldn't take it anymore. I had shoulder pains. I was getting sleepy during the day because I wasn't resting well at night so I exchange it. The difference in price was $3000 and they said they could only give me a store credit. When they delivered the new mattress. They broke my night table during the during the setup. They offered me $50 for the night table. I have been a loyal customer for almost 50 years. Just over a year ago we purchased a Maytag Commercial washer from City Furniture. We had previously bought a Samsung fridge from them. We paid over $2,000 for the Maytag. We wanted a reliable washing machine because we have a golden retriever and go through a lot of very dirty towels and it was getting expensive to go to the laundromat. Recently the machine has been acting up and of course it is just out of warranty. It doesn't finish the cycle and when we try to put it on spin and drain it won't work. Basically the machine is useless. We called City Appliances who told us to call Whirlpool and all they would do is make us pay for a service call. The machine will go to the dump eventually. Don't buy a Maytag and don't deal with City Furniture because they sell garbage and have bad customer service.

I am thoroughly disappointed with City Furniture's misleading sales practices, particularly their insistence on purchasing a warranty. Despite declining, I was pressured into buying one with the assurance that if no claim was filed within three years, I'd receive the warranty cost back as an in-store credit. After three years with no claims, I attempted to redeem my promised credit, only to be informed it had expired. City Furniture claims a letter was sent, but I never received any such notification. Promising customers a return on their investment, then invalidating it through an unreceived notice, is unacceptable and deceptive. I will not be shopping at City Furniture again.

I called Warranty and I was told they had to order a part that would take 3 weeks to receive. After 3 weeks, I received a text telling me it would take another 2 months. I am stuck paying for a sectional that I can not enjoy. I would like to return it as it is very poor quality and cost over 5799. I have disputed this with my CC company as they would not allow me to return it even though it had broken in less than a month.

I called to complain, and Mrs. Martha **, who assisted me, kept me waiting and claimed she had explained everything clearly—which was not the case.

During our delivery, not only was our couch damaged, but my brand new floor was scratched & a floor vase that's been in my family for decades was destroyed. The damages were immediately reported. But somehow customer service & personal damages dept had no record of the incident. I fought for months & went so far as getting advice from my attorney. In the end, they maintained they didn't cause the damage. They weren't counting on my having a paper trail of emails & text chats confirming my claim. City Furniture is a disgusting excuse for a furniture retailer & should not be in business.

City Furniture is a garbage company who deserves zero starts out of 5. When you read this review I want you to know how hard (and to what lengths) my family and I were force to go through to get absolutely ZERO help. We will never buy anything from this unscrupulous company… I truly mean NEVER EVER AGAIN!! City Furniture pulled the most disgusting business practice known in sales… the bait and switch. Although this is illegal, they clearly do not care. Their lies started with the workmanship of their products and FALSELY misleading us by indicating that the sofa we were buying was “Made in the USA.” It was not. They said whatever they could to land a sale, but never counted on us verifying their blatant lies.

    HISTORY OF OUR PROBLEMS:

My parents required a modular sofa because a standard sofa could not be carried upstairs. Their salesperson misinformed them by saying that what she convinced them to purchase was modular. My parents were thrilled for their “Made in the USA, leather, modular sofa” to arrive. To make room for delivery they gave away their gorgeous leather sofa so the delivery team would have ample room. When this team arrived the sofas were in one piece (clearly not modular as we were told at the time of purchase). Because they were not modular, these sofas could not fit up the stairwell. The sofas also said “Made in Vietnam” not “Made in USA.” It was also not the Bernhardt brand we were told we were purchasing by the salesperson.

City Furniture lied to us. As a consequence of this screwup by City Furniture our delivery had to be returned to the warehouse. We now had to return to the store for the purpose of obtaining a refund. However, once we were at City Furniture we were informed that we had only one option, to purchase another sofa because they would not issue a refund.

We selected a pair of modular reclining sofas for $4,559.60 + 3-Year In-Home Service for $527.98 + 3-Year Stain Removal $159.80 + Premium delivery $179.99. This purchase is Thousands of dollars have been wasted on inferior furniture sold at premium furniture prices. City Furniture is sadly a company that treats customers like trash and does not stand behind the products they sell. I am completely disgusted by the treatment my parents and I have received.

Because of the supply chain backlogs, we were unable to receive the delivery of the replacement sofas for several weeks. As mentioned above, we were deprived of any and all seating in our living room for several months because of City Furniture’s failure to deliver what was represented on our initial purchase. After spending well over five thousand dollars, we were without any sofa for over three months. This company sucks. I never wanted to write this review. So I gave City Furniture and their representatives every possible opportunity to remedy the situation. But guess what? It’s been over 11 days and the phone call I was promised to receive within 24-hours from a supervisor never occurred.

My parents have been struggling with City Furniture to remedy what should be an easy solution for years. I told them not to worry I would handle it when I came into town. I live in California and booked a flight to assist them. My plane landed on Monday, February 17th, 2025 on President’s Day and we immediately drove to City Furniture in Boca Raton, FL. Once there I asked to speak with a manager so we could get a copy of my parent’s receipt and discuss the issues they had been dealing with. The store had a slew of employees and yet they told me we needed to know our salesperson’s name. I didn’t have this information and it simply needed a print out of our receipt. They had my elderly mother and me waiting for over 10 minutes for a salesperson to appear, yet no one was coming. I noticed a cafe in the back of the store and asked what that was.

The store representatives told me I could get a free cup of coffee and cookies so I went there because we were waiting a really long time. There were significantly more employees working than customers shopping so I didn’t understand why no one was helping us. The cafe employee told me there was no free coffee, I was given incorrect information and if I wanted coffee I needed to fill out a survey. Well consider this my survey and keep your coffee.

Next to the cafe was a customer service desk so I asked if someone could help me. Jarod ** was able to print out a receipt and when I explained the difficulties my parents were having getting customer service assistance he said that he would elevate our request with a direct email to customer service. I asked if he could copy us on the email and he said that wasn’t possible because it was strictly an internal company email. I thanked him and asked how long this would take and he said he needed to finish completing the paperwork for three customers before us and would do it afterwards. I verified my Father’s cell phone number and email address with Mr. ** and he told us would hear from someone within 24 hrs. As soon as I was in the parking lot my Father, who had been waiting in the car, provided more information that was extremely important for Mr. ** to include in his email.

Instead of running back inside of the store to speak with him, I decided to call him. This was a tremendous mistake. The first call rang and rang. The second one sent me to Mr. ** voicemail. The third call I asked the representative (Pedro) to please help me by walking to Mr. ** desk next to the cafe since I was literally in the store less than 3 minutes ago. He told me that he would love to do this, but it was impossible because he works remotely. Pedro offered to call the store for me and get Mr. ** on the phone so I could give him very important information to include in his email to customer service. After over 5 minutes on hold, Pedro said that he had no success getting a human being to pick up the phones at City Furniture.

We laughed that it must really be bad if even a City Furniture employee can’t get a human being. Pedro said that he would send an email to Mr. ** asking him to please call us ASAP. I asked if I could be copied in his email and he said it was an internal company email and this wasn’t possible. But he assured me what the store hours were and that I would get a call back from Mr. ** today. Mr. Jarod ** still has never called me back. It has been 12-days since I was in City Furniture and spoke with Jarod. This is terrible customer service.

The following day, Tuesday, February 18th, 2025 at 10:30 am Claudia M. (employee ID # **) a customer service representative from City Furniture called my Father on what she indicated was a recorded telephone line. My Father dutifully explained the problems he and my Mother had been having trying to get the issues resolved with in-home service and customer service to no avail. She offered him a token 25% discount on a replacement sofa and refused to honor the extended warranty because the “In-Home Service” they purchased expired on 10/13/24 and their claims were not covered because they were due to “normal wear and tear.” This is categorically false. The damage on their sofa is not due to normal wear and tear, it is solely due to defective materials used.

Even the certified home professional who came to repair the crackling on the leather sofa said nothing could be done. He said that if he tried to clean it, it will only get worse because it is not real leather and is impossible to clean. After over an hour and a half on the phone with Claudia M. I asked her if she could send a technician out here to see if there was any way for the cracks to be fixed. She told me that she has been working for City Furniture for over 5-years and we were not getting a refund. The best she could do was increase the discount from 25% to 30%. This isn’t satisfactory because I was just in the store on President’s Day and a 30% discount was being offered to everyone.

My parents currently own a defective low quality cheaply made sofa that is disintegrating because of how poorly it has been manufactured. The leather is subpar and even the repair technician said so. City Furniture doesn’t want to honor the warranty because they claim it expired on 10/13/24, but my elderly parents have been trying to have this issue resolved for years and can’t even get a human being on the phone. This isn’t just abysmal customer service it’s cruel to put anyone through. My parents are so fed up, so upset and truly don’t know what more to do. I was hoping City Furniture would be a reputable company. My Father personally knows Mr. Keith Koenig, President of City Furniture, but never wanted to trouble him with the issues they have been having with his company. However, now that I have experienced the pure hell of attempting to get help with a simple warranty issue through City Furniture I am livid.

I am exasperated and I plan on telling everyone I know exactly why they should never ever purchase a single thing from City Furniture. Especially an extended warranty!! City Furniture will never honor these warranties and simply make people go through so many hoops that they hope you give up trying from the sheer exhaustion and disappointment of never being able to get a human being to assist you. Any money spent at City Furniture is 100% wasted money on a company who values sales over customer service.

No one should ever have to go through this level of promises made and not a single one kept when doing business with a company who wouldn’t be in business if it wasn’t for customers. Purchasing anything from City Furniture is a decision no one should ever make. But back to my over 1.5 hours long call with Claudia M. She finally agreed to send a certified home professional to come evaluate my parents damaged sofa, however when she attempted to put in the request she was prevented from doing so in their computer system. I couldn’t even make this up! And this is why I am highlighting that she has been with City Furniture for over 5-years and couldn’t assist us with a simple appointment. She then said that she would need to send an escalation email to Richard **, her customer service manager, in order to set-up an appointment.

I told her that we need to speak with Mr. Richard ** and asked for his contact information, but she refused to give it to me. I asked for his employee ID number and she said she couldn’t do that. I asked for an extension or email address to reach him and she said that she would need his permission to give us this information because “people look people up on social media.” I have no idea what that meant. Why would I look up her manager’s social media account when all I want is a resolution to my parents defectively manufactured sofa? I told her that I was concerned that we wouldn’t hear from him because of what I was promised the day before while in the City Furniture store in Boca Raton. While there I was told that Mr. Jarod ** would call us back. It’s been 12-days and I have yet to hear from him.

She assured me on Tuesday, 2/18/25 at 11:29 am that her manager Mr. Richard ** would receive our paperwork TODAY and will call my Father back TODAY. We have never heard back from Claudia M. or her customer service manager, Mr. Richard **. I gave them over a week to reach out before writing a review of City Furniture and this is proof of how little City Furniture cares. They don’t give a damn about you!

The customer service is awful. Trying to make a claim under their so-called “warranty” it’s a nightmare. I filed a claim in August 2024 for a damaged part. After waiting for months, the replacement part was finally delivered in December. The technician arrived on February 27, 2025, only to tell me another part was missing and he couldn’t complete the repair. Now, I’ve been told I have to wait another 12 weeks just to receive the missing part—then schedule yet another technician, which could take another month or more.

This entire process has been a nightmare. A simple repair has dragged on for over six months with no resolution in sight. If you’re thinking about buying from City Furniture, DON’T! Their warranty service is a joke, and their lack of accountability is beyond frustrating. Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere!

They continue to prove their incompetence.

Review: I am absolutely disgusted with City Furniture and their complete lack of quality control. I ordered a coffee table teak wood and when it arrived, it was infested with spiders. This is beyond unacceptable—it’s a major health and safety risk, especially since I have children and pets in my home. It makes me seriously question how filthy their warehouse must be if they are shipping out furniture in this condition. I keep a clean home, yet I was sent an infested product with no accountability on their part. When I contacted customer service with photo and video proof, their only solution was for me to keep the infested table in my home for another 1-2 months while waiting for a replacement. I can’t throw it out, move it, or get rid of it, because if it gets damaged, I will be held responsible!

What happens if my children or pets get bitten? Will City Furniture take responsibility? This is NOT right, and this is NOT okay. A company that truly cares about its customers would take immediate action to fix the issue instead of forcing a family to live with an infested piece of furniture. If you’re considering purchasing from City Furniture, be warned—they do not check their products, and their customer service will not have your back when something goes wrong. #CityFurnitureFail #HealthHazard #TerribleCustomerService #FurnitureInfestation #NotOkay

Quality is extremely bad. I bought a bed 6 months ago and it's already tearing apart. I also ordered a night stand, I am still waiting for it. I called them and they said to wait to more 2 months, can't even guarantee it: 8 months for a night stand from City Furniture.

We've spent over $20,000 in the last 2 years on furniture. We had an item that was damaged, requested credit while in warranty to get a different item. They would not do it. Terrible service. Worst customer service. This will be the last time we buy anything from this company. Back and forth, we even went to the city to file a complaint. It's been 20 days. They haven't even responded to the city. I would think for good customers they would resolve the issue, not even asking for my money back simply to get an item that works. We went back to the store and the item in question was already cracked before even sold. I took a picture. Everything was documented. They still wouldn't give us credit.

Purchased beautiful and expensive couches in June 2023. I reported that my couches and ottoman were sinking and sagging. The technician came out and agreed with me. Now here comes City Furniture's take on this. They are saying the ottoman is wear and tear and not replaceable. As well as the couches will only get new seat covers. How does that even make sense. The couches covers and then the couch pillows on the back support will not match. They will be different colors. Who does this? Then they say they will replace the ottoman cover - hello there is no ottoman cover, it's all one piece and the wear and tear is absurd as we only use that our feet. I guess they don't care about customer satisfaction.

Terrible… Nothing is covered under warranty… They sell office furniture (or furniture to be used in office) knowing it’s not covered under warranty… Salespersons aren’t transparent with the telling you what, how, why, etc. is involved in warranty, returns, refunds … I ended up having a couch for my office that’s falling apart and discolored, broken items delivered, not to mention you have to unload stuff from truck to office and then only have 24 hrs to unpack, set up and send pics if anything is wrong … to only wait for “their 12 hr window” and then if they pick up leave a mess.

They don’t cover anything that is “industrial”, don’t cover anything longer than 24 hrs from drop off, and if you’re purchasing mattress and base … if you don’t like mattress (within 21 days… sales will tell you 30 days) only to find out replacements must be of equal value, they don’t cover base or any bedding, and if you want to exchange mattress you have to pay close to $400 for delivery, pick up and set up AGAIN… They are just concerned at money and once out the door their commitment to customer is done and customer left finding out after purchase the scam of warranties and customer satisfaction.

In September we order a piece of wall art (paid for it) and was told that it was back ordered and would be in early January. In checking on the availability for a January delivery we were advised it was back ordered until June. We had inquired about the one on display and were advised they did not sell the display items. Today when we went to the store the display art was gone and we were told it was sold. We inquired if any other store had one and we were told to go to Naples. We asked if they could call the Naples store and they said they could not. They would email the store but would not call them. They then told us that if Naples had one we would need to pay for delivery as the item would not be coming from a warehouse.

The Fort Myers store could have cared less that our order was made and paid for in September and they were not going to do anything to help us. We had previously sent our salesman an email, left messages for him, spoke to customer service at the store and received zero in response, hence the reason we went to the store today. We previously had asked for a refund twice and still as of today the order was still open and not refunded.

Hello everyone, in January I made a call to City Furniture's customer service because a product I bought was damaged, the person who helped me through the customer service line mentioned that the product was still under warranty and that it could be evaluated at home by a technician or take it directly to the store to be replaced, I decided to go to the store to avoid the fee of $50. The lady who attended me on the customer support line, gave me an appointment for Monday. When I got to the store to pick up my chair the people at the warehouse told me that I needed something else called credit ----. I went to the store and sat down with a representative and I can't say anything negative about her because she was wonderful and tried to help me, anyway it turned out that after spending an hour trying to change the chair the person who answered the phone didn't do her job well, she didn't specify.

After sitting for an hour with the girl who helped me at the store, I guess she wasn't happy like me and decided to take me directly to the warehouse so that a technician could check the chair, all this after they made me go out to get the chair in the car for this lady who was with me to check the chair to see that was really ripped, When I got to the warehouse, that is on the same store in plant city fl the guys she explained the case. The guys asked her for all the information. In the end, they mentioned that they didn't know about it, that there was no technician there who could help me, and that the only thing they could do was give me another appointment for a technician to come to my house to check it out, for which I paid $50. Of course after driving and being there since 9:30 am and it was almost 12, imagine how that answer came to me.

To finish, I asked the girl to please put me through to the manager, thinking that he would be able to help us after explaining what happened, well I didn't explain and his response was, "If you didn't pay the extra insurance with us I can't help you," wow. I say, "Yes but my chair has a warranty," and he says, "Not with us but with the provider," and I say yes but I bought it at City Furniture and I call city furniture customer service and they sent me here to change a chair and it turns out that now no one wants to help me and my time is valuable, he the manager tells me how much the chair cost? in a sarcastic way. I told him the chair cost me $130 but the general purchase I made was 20,000. And very much as if he didn't impart it, it wasn't his money or time, he said, "I'm very sorry but I can't do anything for you."

I was so upset by the bad time I was having and at the same time thinking that I had to pick up my daughter from school an hour away and it was getting late, that I decided to leave the chair in the store. Incredible, the worst service I have ever had in my life, even my blood pressure went up.
