I initially loved my Avocado Green mattress for the first year of ownership. I flipped it every month to ensure it stayed supportive. Right around the 9 months into ownership it started to have larger and larger body impressions to the point of it having now lost nearly all of its support. I'm so disappointed that I took such a huge risk since it was highly rated by Consumer reports too. I contacted the company, jumped through every hoop with pictures of the sag, pictures of the base, pictures of measurements of the the body impressions, and multiple e-mails. They have decided to deny my claim and I'm not sure it's a person I'm communicating with since it's very "Bot" like. Denying a claim is what they were programmed to do. I (And my sore back) hope we can get this poor quality mattress out of our house.

I am appalled at this company's behavior following a Recall for an organic mattress pad I'd bought from them several years ago - after they discovered it was made of flammable materials. I received numerous emails, urging me to destroy it and to "stop use immediately" - as well as provide evidence, i.e. photographs of the destroyed pad. Which I did so. Emails stated the customer would receive a Replacement within 4 weeks after documenting the flammable pad was destroyed. I did that, and it's been 11 weeks, 4 emails and 3 phone calls later - and Avocado still has not sent a replacement. Nor do I believe they ever will.

I do not recommend this mattress. We loved it at first but it is constantly sagging more and more and there is now a lump on one side and you feel like you are going to roll off the bed when lying there. Contacting Avocado- they say this is NORMAL! I can only use half of the bed- but this is normal? Also they recalled their mattress pads and told us to cut them in half and send a picture and we would receive the new pad in 3-4 weeks. 4 months now and still waiting and they say- Don't know when it will be available- AND it was not MANDATORY so too bad!

I am an older heavier person. I love firm mattresses. Got the firmest offered with the topper. I could still feel the coils. Within 3 months I was getting leg cramps at night. By 5 months my sciatic nerve was affected causing burning pains down both legs and front of thighs. When I slept on couch or daybed I was fine. Doctor told me to get a different mattress. I did and am fine now. Return process was easy, although I had to arrange the pickup by the charity. Also had to help carry mattress out to truck. I am a 73 year old woman with balance issues.

Purchased July 22, 2022. Despite rotating the mattress as instructed monthly and for over two years though only required to rotate for a few months, this Avocado king mattress developed a spring sag early on in September 2022. I reported it with images and was told it was normal. Fast forward to June 2023, and a second obvious spring sag has manifested itself. I submitted a new claim and images as instructed along with supporting images of the slat bed employed and was notified that there was no issue, claim denied. Well, there is an issue and I only weigh 185 lbs. and have rotated this mattress beyond what was required. I view this as a ticking time bomb that will eventually fail completely, especially after reading other reviews that point out this issue. Avocado will not stand behind its claims and warranty.

We purchased an Avocado mattress about five years ago. It is dipping significantly in the middle. After dealing with the company back and forth for months, they have acknowledged the dip (1 1/2”) and the bed is properly supported. This meets their warranty requirements. But they won’t replace it. We wake up in back pain every day. So now we need to go buy a new mattress. So only buy this mattress if you have the $$ to buy a new mattress every 4-5 years. Very disappointing.

After a separation from my husband and he moved out, my sister generously gave me money for a new mattress. I had looked around and read reviews and decided to buy the Avocado Mattress. It arrived and was wonderful. I slept well and pretty much stayed in the same spot all night (no tossing and turning) until 8 months ago I started to have lower rib and joint pain. I went to my doctor and ran all sort of tests that came up inconclusive. I even stopped working at at a salon because the commute becoming too much on my body, I would wake up sore and so stiff, I really thought it must be an autoimmune disease.

Avocado is facing a barrage of lawsuits, I learned too late. We bought a king mattress for our winter home in California. After 5 months in one room we attempted to move the mattress to another, to our horror the entire bottom of the mattress was covered in bright green mold. A quick internet search will show you they rapidly get negative Google reviews deleted, with a horrendous profile on BBB. They are knowingly selling mattresses which probably already have mold growth within them. As for company accountability? In my case they asked me for a photo, which I sent and then they told me to discard the mattress as it was unusable. As soon as I arranged for garbage collection of the mattress, Avocado said they could not refund me as I no longer had a mattress to return.

We bought a queen size Green Mattress with a Firm Latex Topper last year. The mattress felt great for about a month. We even bought another one. Then I developed chronic back pain. I was recently out of town for work for 2 months and suddenly no back pain. One night back on my Avocado mattress and my back pain is back. We also just noticed the mattress is dented where we sleep. My husband weighs 180 and I weigh 132. I bought a new reputable brand mattress today. Don't waste your money on an Avocado mattress.

We did a lot of research and wanted a kids mattress with no toxic chemicals, offgassing, etc. When the Avocado arrived, it stank like latex and chemicals. I messaged the company, and they said it would go away in a few days. I closed the mattress in a room for a month, opened the windows every other day, and the smell didn't go away.

We’ve been sleeping on the mattress for a couple of weeks and like the comfort. I took off the linens to wash them and noticed indentations where we have been lying. My husband and myself are on the average as far as weight. This is concerning to me and I tried to turn it myself since it is time and they recommend turning more frequently at the beginning. I am unable to turn it by myself - it is heavy and the whole bed moves when I try to turn it so will wait until he gets home for some help turning. Haven’t let him know the recommended frequency of turning either yet - he won’t like it. Just wanted to put this out there because I read other reviews where this was happening and it may be the main problem with this mattress. Not sure if it will affect the comfort or not so will update later on, but this seems extremely early to start sagging.

Updated on 11/03/2022: This is a revised review a previous post made here that I am unable to edit (dropped from 3 stars to 1 with more time using their product). Ordered the green mattress (king) in October of 2019 and was really impressed by the look and feel of this mattress. Awesome materials - soft and high-quality. Truly gorgeous. The first few weeks were pleasant sleeping. My body depressed into the mattress a bit, but the cozy, fluffy experience made up for it. First few weeks were dreamy until the center of the mattress eventually started losing its integrity. The crater that expanded across the middle of the bed got progressively worse over time, creating lower back and hip pain that I would carry for the next 2 years.

Avoid Avocado at all cost. I ordered a $7000 top of the line mattress 8 weeks ago and it still hasn't arrived. I was told when I ordered it that it would take 4-5 weeks but was told "it usually comes much faster". They claimed they shipped it three weeks ago but after calling the shipping company several times I have been told that they don't have it. Then they tell me that they are using a third party company but they don't have any tracking for that company. It doesn't take 3 weeks for something to move across the country.

I have not yet received my mattress, so I can't speak to that but if I had to redo this I would go with a different company. I went to the Santa Monica store to place my order and had a great experience - we tried all the beds and found the one we liked best. I went home and ordered on July 10. The website claimed a wait time of 5-7 days. The personalized email I received said 3-5. I followed up after 5 days and was told wait 5 more. Fine. It's now July 26 and there is still no timeline for when the mattress should ship, just "hopefully by August 2nd." For $2,500, I expect a company to keep their word or proactively update me on delays. I bought new bedroom furniture, as I am upgrading bed size, whose delivery I continually have to delay. The customer service is polite, but useless as they can't help at all. I wish I had ordered from elsewhere and hope you do.

Bought the Avocado all natural latex mattress in May 2021, hoping it would be like my old organic latex mattress which I l used for 10 years. I'm 100lbs, 5'2", and side sleep alone. I have a fancy German slatted frame underneath. This is NOT the bed for me. Perhaps the more popular Avocado hybrid with springs is better. I am going to try my friend's and either swap or just ask for a refund. Since May, I have felt more back and shoulder pain in bed in years! I need a firmer bed with more support.

My wife passed away last year after a 6 year battle with ALS, and I held off on purchasing a new mattress because our old mattress reminded me of her. Nevertheless, after one year, I finally got the courage to replace our old mattress and decided to buy an Avocado mattress for $1,799. Not inexpensive by any standards, but I need to sleep better. I was very much looking forward to getting my Avocado mattress that I purchased on Sept 19, 2020, but as I write this today on January 15, 2021 (5 months after I paid for my Avocado mattress), I still have not received my mattress, even though they have had my money for 5 months. On January 11, 2021, I contacted Avocado customer service via text (because they do not publish a phone number to reach them) and a person named Madeleine said she would send a note to their warehouse to find out the status and get back to me. 5 days later, I still have not heard back at all.

Extremely comfortable mattress. Great support, even for back trouble. It is very heavy and takes two people to handle. Ordered two, weeks apart, both boxes arrived destroyed. Just too much for one delivery worker to handle.

If you are looking for a VERY FIRM mattress, then Avocado Green is it. It provides very good support for all kinds of sleepers who need a VERY FIRM experience. In fact, unless you need a VERY FIRM mattress, you should probably try something else. Even with the slightly cushier topper, the sleep experience is VERY FIRM, surprisingly FIRM.

Bought a Queen-size mattress. The mattress is HARDNESS 7. We are two weights and two sizes couple. Whether getting in bed or getting out of bed, the other spouse is not bothered by the others activity. Clockwise rotation of the mattress every 100 days.

Finally got a great nights sleep. Glad I got rid of my Tempur Pedic and upgraded to the queen size AVOCADO. Plush mattress topper and just love the innerspring feature. Delivery was the greatest. Watched the video for unpacking the mattress and this made my efforts to install the mattress really easy as can be. Would buy it again!!!

I ordered a queen size mattress topper from Avocado Mattress on Monday January 6, 2020. When I placed the order I was told that it would ship in three days. That time frame information is also quoted on their website. It's now Monday January 20, 2020 and I still have not received my mattress topper. Not only have I not received the topper but there has been no communication from Avocado Mattress about the delay. The mattress topper was quite expensive. The cost was $450.00. When I'm willing to spend that kind of money on a mattress topper I expect that the company will keep me informed of any problems. Not a good start in my relationship with Avocado Mattress.

The Avocado is the best mattress out there on market. I suffered for 27 months on an overpriced Tempur-Pedic. Then purchased the Avocado after hours and hours of research. Just like that my allergies at night went away, my body stopped hurting everyday and me and my husband both wake up happy now. I can not say enough about quality of the Avocado. I have had my mattress for over a year now and about to buy three more for my kids. You always want the safest and best mattress for the ones you love.
