This school might look normal from the outside but once you get in, there is no going back into the death trap you've walked into! Most of the writing in the program isn't even written correctly! The examiners help you when you feel like it. I am doing this programming class that I have to do since I can't go back and choose another elective, I set up a call with the school to help me with my projects and guess what, they didn't show up! And a few months later with the same class, I did some LiveChat with a Instructor for the same reason, and instead of showing/helping me how to do the project with the schools' resources, he sent me to a different website that had NOTHING to do with the school; in the end that website didn't even help for nothing!

The communication at Penn Foster sucks. I signed up 2 days prior to my promise to pay and start date and was not able to access any classes or work. It just kept telling me I had to pay. My contact person never answered her phone and by the time I was able to speak with someone I was told I could not do a refund because I was 2 days out of the grace period, even though I started calling and had been calling 2 days prior to my promise to pay date. I was finally able to cancel this nightmare and had to go through my bank to stop my first payment and they are still telling me that I owe them $7 after keeping my $50 from when I applied. WOW... BE WARNED. DO NOT APPLY TO YOUR NIGHTMARE.

How do I owe $1500 if I never even heard of them. I already have my high school diploma!!!! I already called and there’s nothing I can do about it. Just avoid this place at all cost. So frustrating and they are no help.

My name is Alberto **. Few years ago I made the wrong decision to choose Penn Foster to get my diploma. One month after to make the agreement I sent to Penn Foster my intention to cancel it. 5 years later they sent me to an agency of collection because they said I owe $1,490.00 because I completed 10 grades!! It's not true, the 10 grades I got for my studies in Texas and not was from Penn Foster school!

Penn Foster is an amazing school. They have been so helpful and I go to an amazing college. Thank you for all your help. Can’t wait to hang my high school diploma up on my wall. All my hard work is done.

Not helpful/or exams what to do not worded right and not properly explained either comes to exams especially towards the end of the program. Won't get a refund if fully paid but failed when under academic review that dont understands at all.

This is by far one of the best high schools online, unless your local board offers one. This school is so helpful and they're so active and full of personality when you call or see them on social media. They seem to be so supportive to me. Love this school, would go again if I had to. Haha.

So I finished getting my diploma in 2015 and finally was able to pay off my diploma in collections in full this year in 2019 of February. Now I have to wait 14 days for USCB COLLECTIONS to get back to Penn Foster and tell them I’ve paid my debt off, then I have to wait some more months. They said until April until I can finally get a copy of my diploma and transcripts. I think that’s not right considering it doesn’t take you guys no time to take people money. Smh.

Sign my daughter up only to learn that the credits would not be accepted by New York colleges and they still charge me $250. They claim they are accredited but what good is that if my daughter cannot go to college without first getting a GED?

My son decided to get his diploma by homeschooling. I did my research and thought Penn Foster would be exactly what he needed to graduate early and start his life. My son always wanted to go into the military and Penn Foster states they are recognized and accredited by the military. That may be true in certain states, but in the state of Florida the military says he needs more credits. They will not accept him until he receives a half credit of math and half credit of nutrition. Now, I find this ridiculous on the military's part. However, Penn Foster is no help. They want to charge me $500+ to get these credits through them. I feel as though they should have allowed my son to take these credits for, at the very least, a lower fee since they promise they are acceptable in all states by all branches of the military.

I am a graduate of Thomson Education Direct which is now Penn Foster. I received my diploma in 04 and the only time I had a issue was when I tried to enroll in college. At the time the program was only nationally accredited. Now it's nationally and regionally accredited. I reached out to Penn Foster regarding my issue and they were helpful. They gave me my transcripts, a letter stating their accreditations and a new diploma with the Penn Foster moniker. From some of the reviews I've read here, people are either being lazy, scamming or just need an outlet for attention. Nothing in this life is guaranteed even if you attend a community or Ivy League college. You need to be the one to do the work and if you don't have the drive, well you're going to stall your life. Good luck to you all and before you sign on any dotted line, make sure you read those terms of service.

I enrolled in Penn Foster High School for $1. And from that day forward it’s been great. My tuition would’ve been 1295.00. I only paid 439.00 with my transfer credits from higher school and their discounts. I can work and do school at my own pace. Now for anyone who says it’s a lot of reading - you are just LAZY. I agree that it is. But I had no complaints because I was and am doing something for me to better my future. I got most of my credits from high school and it really left me with not many subjects to complete. You get actual grades from the exams you take and if you have any questions student advocates are always available to help. You actually get to graduate at the campus in Philadelphia which I will be attending in June 2019 with all other graduates on campus and online.

I started the Penn Foster High School program in 2016. I love the fact that it's at your own pace. I just got done this yr. I enrolled for a $1. They were upfront with the monthly fees. Now I'm thinking about enrolling in a online college something I couldn't do before. I can even move around in my job now. The sky's the limit for me now. I recommend this school if you're serious about your future.

Okay. So I saw a lot of different reviews on Penn Foster but I really needed to get out of the public school system and decided my school/guidance counselor recommended them and I've seen some okay things about them so I just decided for the hell of it that it would be a good online school. I was kinda right... but I was also kinda wrong... Now I didn't expect to be wowed by it because I kinda knew what I was getting into but I didn't think it would be as bad as it is. There's a lot of reading which I expected but like... I'm dyslexic and it's difficult to read all of the time. So I was hoping that they would have more videos so I could learn more easy. (I don't know. Is that how I should put it?) Now I could go on a full on rant about what wrong about this online school but I won't because that's just my main problem. So if you're dyslexic beware I guess?

PENN FOSTER IS A SCAM. I SIGN FOR $1 but when you get to their website you have limited access unless you pay the monthly payments for $49. I tried to cancel and get my $1 back but you cannot get your money back. SCAMMER PENN FOSTER.

So, every situation is unique so take what I say with a grain of salt. I had a family member of mine enrolled in this program at one time. I then decided to give them a call. My representative took the time and explained how it all worked. I had transfer credits from my previously attended high school. So many that I cut my fees owed by a third. I also finished the program in less than 3 months total. I worked hard and read a lot and wasted no time on taking the required tests (20 questions, you get immediate grade).

This school is wonderful, and the ones that say the opposite may be better attending onsite classes instead of online. This is for self-motivated people that don’t require an instructor to be chasing them around.

I really feel like you can't go wrong with this school. I paid around 1300 because I referred my sister to the school. I paid 40 bucks a month, which they took out my account on the 20th of each month. I never had any issues with my payments. They give you 104 test and you complete them on your own time. Simple as that. Five days after I completed my last exam I received my high school diploma. It was that simple. No regrets.

This school was one of the first I saw in my search for a good online school. I looked over their entire website and read reviews online. They were not good. But did I listen? Nope. I thought that I should give it a try and see for myself. The price is VERY cheap, so you get what you pay for I guess. It was less than $1500 for 22 courses and your diploma. It took less than an hour to call and set up an account. When I got into the account, it looked normal enough. But the catch is that there are NO actual graded assignments. There are courses, and each course had about 5-8 'lessons' which is basically a BUNCH of reading about the subject. After each lesson, you take a 20 question exam. There is not artistic experience, no worksheets, no graded activities. You only get these 'Quick Checks' that they tell you to answer and click on a link to see the answer. It is not graded.

Their material and "professors" are outdated. They expect me to draw blood from a fake balloon which I understand given we’re working with animals but then they expect me to submit a video where I have to force a gastrointestinal tube down a live animal throat and administer fake meds. I even got an email from the "professor" let's call her "Rachel" because that's her real name, telling me to do it behind the owner’s back. This is not practical, illegal and completely inhumane to the animal. I will file for an BBB investigation and submit my emails to them.

Please read. The bookkeeping program is all online. There is no option to have printed material sent to you. Anything you want printed, you will need to print out for yourself. "From the instructor". I then replied with and received no response? Very rude and don't help.

First off the hold times are horrible. Secondly, I had enrolled my son and they instantly took the full amount even though I never had an option for any payment plan. I called. They indicated I would receive a refund for the difference between the amount down and the full amount. I call to check on why it's been a week and the money has yet to be returned. I was told by their support again another 20 minute hold, that it takes two weeks. So two weeks passes they refund the difference but instantly take it back. So I call again this time a 1-hour hold and was told it will take 2 more weeks. This organization is completely disorganized. They also told me that it is not uncommon for people to sign up and take the full amount of tuition. STAY AWAY.

Hi, we enrolled my son in Penn Foster for High School at the recommendation of another family that used it. Their 4 children all graduated from Penn Foster and went on to college and did well in college. That said, it is very, very basic education. You take 2 classes at a time, each class lasts around a month. When you finish one class, it opens the next class so you always have 2 classes open. There are a total of 102 'lessons' divided between about 22 classes. Each lesson takes 1 to 10 days to complete. For example, Earth Science includes 6 lessons and you complete it in a month. Math is Basic Math I and II and Consumer Math, nothing else.
