I had a phone through Rogers and, for a strange reason, I never really used it, but then one day I guess I sat on it and the computer was on. They tried to bill me over $1000 or so. Then when I asked what I downloaded, there was nothing. The thing was just on; no words were typed, nothing was looked up and I never even pushed a button. Then the bill came saying I used the computer. I did nothing to the computer, no search or anything, but they tried to bill me for it. I talked to the VP and said this. He agreed and we all forgot about it so I tried to send $105 to Global but it was sent back, saying they were not involved. I have a paper saying this from them so Global do me and a whole lot of others and get your facts straight and piss off. I have a receipt and a letter saying that you want nothing from me and that's what you're going to get. Rogers lied on their billing; you don't know nothing but what they tell you and you even said that to me when my money order was sent back. So do not bother me again.

I received one letter from Global in last week, 08/2010, and I pay in time. This company said they sent another letter before. I never received any in my home. I made the payment with Global and they said I don't have any problem because the payment was in time. After one week, they sent the info to Equifax to collection accounts. This is not fair. The company should send a registered letter because if it's lost, it will be a lot of trouble for the people. I asked for proof if they have really sent the letter because I never received any. This is not fair.

Money has been sent, by accident, to this company. I have tried to contact the company many times since I found out about the mistake. The money was sent via computer transaction. My bank tried to get the transaction reversed but it was too late for that. My bank gave me a toll free number to call. I never spoke to a real person, just a machine telling me that this message would be recorded, for whatever purpose. They have my bank account number so I would like the money back plus the interest they charge their clients! The account number is not a valid one as it does not belong to this company!

I have repeatedly received phone calls from someone calling on behalf of this agency (a third party locator service I've since learned) that there was a claim made against me and charges were filed. I asked him what the name of the company was that he was representing. He couldn't tell me that because he didn't know. Of course I asked him how could he file charges on me if he didn't even know what the charges were for. He said that he would have to come down to my place of business and serve me papers. I told him come on. This started this past Friday and he continued to blow up my phone until this morning. I answered the phone and before he could even open up his mouth to speak, I informed him that I have already spoken with him, do not plan on speaking with him anymore and that I worked in collections, so I was privy to his methods and that he had no legal authority to serve me papers in any way, shape or form.

He only called back once and it was to leave the "claim number" and phone number for the company that supposedly I owe the money to. After that, he quit calling. I called the company, which was Global and spoke with a representative. It was a payday loan company called VIP Loan Shop, which I had dealt with 2 years ago. He told me that they sold the account to Global. He said the full charge was $345 but if I wanted to settle it today, he could take $200 off and make it $145. I told him I was not willing to do that because I remember VIP Loan Shop. When I took out the loan, I agreed to pay one amount which included the interest rate. But when they started taking it out of my account, they took twice the amount that I agreed to and did the same thing the following payday. I wound up overpaying them by over $100.

It was a scam from the beginning. You couldn't reach this company by phone, there was no number available. I had to change my checking account to keep them from stealing from me. My advice to anyone who receives these calls is to disregard them. Advise your friends, co-workers and family that it is a fraudulent third party collection agency that is trying to scare you into paying money that you don't even owe, so just don't reply to them or if you don't know the number, even if it's local, don't answer. Let it go to VM and listen to the message if they bother to leave one. Half the time, they don't even bother.

I had a local number man going by the name of Terry ** calling me today, giving me an 888 number to call along with a claim number, stating he had papers to serve me but needed to do it at my workplace for his safety. Then wanted my supervisor (I am in an office by myself, home office is in another state), he did want their number to call them. He kept on saying "want your supervisor." I hung up on him and then 2 hours later, called 6 times (I was on the phone with a customer) and finally left a nasty message. I told both him and the 888 number that if they wanted to serve me, they needed to go through proper authorities. They got real nasty and I just hung up. They again didn't want my home office number to contact and didn't have my address for here or home. They should, if they say I owe something.

I had a Providian credit card go into collection (Global). I’ve been paying through direct debit for the last 3-4 years, always on the 27th of the month. They would never send statements to people. I would have to call them every so often to check my balance. The last time I did this I was almost down to $8,000. This week, they took the payment out on the 13th of June and it bounced. I was charged $140.00 in OD fees from my bank. I also came home and received a letter stating that my account was sold to another credit collection agency and that the balance I now owed was for over $10,000.00.

How can you pay on something for almost 4 years and owe more than what you started with? The bank, when I called to talk to them about all the OD fees, took off two of the payments. But they did say that when they don't adhere to the schedule agreed upon for payment debits and OD fees occur, that "they" are responsible for returning those OD fees. And the only way to get out of electronic debits after putting them in place basically is to shut down the account completely; otherwise, the same situation can happen again, etc. How can you track prior payment history when you have nothing to go on?

That I needed to call an 877 number to find out what it was in regards to. She called me back later in the day and said since I did not call back, she said that she was going to come and serve me. I told her to go ahead. I would meet her here and she said, "Are you kidding me?" And I said no.

She then asked to talk to my supervisor and I told her no. That it was nobody's business regarding my personal matters. She hung up and called back to back at least 5 times. She then talked to one of my staff and wanted to know what the procedures were for legal matters. My employee told her she needed a court order to serve a levy and gave her the H.R. department’s phone number. When she was hanging up, she told her to let me know that she would be at my place of business within a half an hour with the police.

The payment was for April 19, they took the funds April 9, there were no funds in the account. I got charged NSF fees. I am very unhappy. I think just for that they will not be getting anything else from me.

It was a man saying he was a private locator hired to find me. He said I had serious charges against me and needed to call this 888 number to Global Litigation or he would serve me papers at work. I called and they said I had a $300.00 payday loan from 2005! I never got one. They wanted my bank account information. I said I never got a loan from there and would not give info for account. I asked for a mailing address to send payments if I found this legit. He told me no and to give him credit card or bank account info. I said bring on the courts! The state I live in only gives you 3 years to file lawsuit for collections. He said someone will be at your workplace today and hung up the phone. Needless to say, no one showed up. Do not give them your information over the phone. This is the second time this has happened - all from different numbers. I have filed police reports. This is a scam!

Rogers has no record of any agency reporting that it was paid. This new agency has had the debt for over a year and it does not show on my credit report. I am not sure why they have all of a sudden decided to start calling me everyday about a debt I paid over 7 years ago! I need help.

Another company, the Northland Group, contacted me to try and settle my Capital One account. I told them I already had and they said I needed to get a payoff letter from Global Credit. Global has changed their phone number from the one I had and I cannot find another one. I am not sure what to do next. Do you have any advice? After reading all these complaints, I do not know what to think or do. I keep getting phone calls from this Michael ** from Global Credit and Collections. He is extremely rude, obnoxious and using threatening tactics. I've recorded every call and kept records of every call like I was told from a legal professional. I told him my situation but still very rude, obnoxious and threatening. Well, we are on bad financial times like a lot of others and every penny coming in is going out for bills.

We get income from my social security disability and my wife's work which is not consistent hours. I have a special needs child and this takes a toll on him to. We just don't have anything extra right now and this so called man is threatening to garnish my wife's pay and we need every penny we can get to make our bills.

I told him that I'll see him in court to prove everything and he gets so rude, loud and threatening. I ask for his address and he don't give it up. I paid all my bills for the past 25 years and had a good credit score. We're keeping up on one credit card that we're paying off and he wants me to put the balance we owe on that card. We're barely making that payment and he wants me to put more on that card which would make the payment go higher. Then we wouldn't be able to make that payment.

He just called again but this call came from a man saying this wasn't the same man unless they all sound alike. The number this time was ** from Unionville, Ontario instead of unknown. I also told him that we have a special needs child and we cannot get him everything he needs and we do our best but he didn't care it's not his concern. Now, he says that he's going to call my wife's work and I told him that if he does, she'll get fired or time off without pay. Still he didn't care it's not his problem. He keeps saying that if I don't put what we owe on the other credit card he'll report it as that I'm not willing to co-operate and resolve this issue. He says that he's going to keep calling and today alone he's called four times and that he'll have others call to.

I received a phone call from this collection agency saying that if I didn't call back within 24 hours of the voicemail then they would make a decision of legal action. I answered their phone call and a woman named Michele spoke to me about my capital one payment and told me that they can get rid of my interest rate and that I had to start out with a payment of $180. I told her there was no way that I could pay that much right now, I'm 22 years old working minimum wage and paying rent for an apartment and also on welfare getting food stamps for my groceries. I told her that I could possible make payments for $50, but that I could not make any payments until I get paid next.

She continued to try a coerce me to pay the $180.00 and I continually told her that I could not afford it. She finally decided to settle on the $50 a month. She then told me she needed my bank account number and routing number to set up the payment. I told her that I did not have my account information on me at the time and that I was in the car was driving and had to call her back. I called her back after I called my boyfriend to retrieve my checkbook and give me my account numbers. Michele told me that the account number was wrong and I realized my boyfriend ended up giving me the wrong account number from an old check book.

I then called him back and he gave me another account number from another check book, so I called Michelle back and gave her those numbers. She then told me that it was still wrong and still needed my routing number. I told her I would call her back when I find it. I was not aware that they even had my account number since I was told that the numbers I gave her were wrong.

As a busy individual, I did not get back to her very soon, and she called and left a message the next day. I still had not gotten a hold of her again to set up any payments within a few days. I then realized two days later, that a Global Credit payment was made out of my checking account for $50 that I had not arranged with the collection agency nor did I authorize any such payment, with that said, I was left with $6.50 in my account to last me for two weeks until I got paid again. I went to my bank and filed a claim stating that this was fraud. And also did a "stop payment" to this company with my bank restricting access to my account but the banker told me that it wouldn't go thru for 5-10 business days and that the investigation would not be recovered until 10 business days.

I then called Global credit and collection agency and asked to speak to Michele, She then got on the phone and asked me if I had gotten my routing number for her. I told her, “Obviously you already have my routing number since you illegally took money out of my account today without my consent.”

She then started to raise her voice telling me that we had arranged for the payment for the month of October, (which is a lie) because I made no such arrangement, nor did I even know they had actually gotten my account information yet. I continued to tell her that what she did was illegal and that I wanted to make a payment for two weeks from now, not today.

She continued to tell me lies about what we had spoken about on the phone, and I kept telling her that what she did was illegal and that I filed a claim with my bank for an investigation of fraud. I also said that I wanted my $50 back. She then continued to raise her voice and yell at me. So I hung up on her.

I then called global credit back and asked to speak with a supervisor or manager, I then was appointed to a man who claimed to be the supervisor, I spoke with him and he said they would conduct an investigation and that they would not take out any more payments until I call them and Authorize it. I also stupidly told him that I had done a stop payment to their company.

I felt relieved that I had hoped the manager had taken care of it, but no, the next day another $50 payment had been made out of my account from them and it overdrew my bank account and now I have no money whatsoever and also negative $75 in my account from an overdraft fee. I called my bank, while crying hysterically, and told them what had happened and they went ahead and filed another claim.

I plan to go to my bank tomorrow and change my bank account and I have to wait and see what happens with the investigations, but personally I don't believe that it will do much good. I feel alone in this and that I am severely limited on what I can do about this. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it, I will not let this go either, I want justice and I want this company to pay the price for what they are doing to us. Please contact me I need help. We have settled many of our accounts but Capital One is the only card company to refuse to settle for a reasonable amount. And to think they use incompetent people like this in customer service speaks volumes about capital one. I had heard that Bank of America would be difficult to work with but nothing could be further from the truth. Agents from Global called many times using banned practices according to the Collections Act. A complaint was filed with Consumer Protection Branch of the Ministry of Consumer Services on July 31,2009 but nothing was done. I contacted the Ministry in June 2010, to find out the status of the complaint and was told there was no record of it despite having a File Number. I finally received a response from Consumer Services who said they mailed my complaint to Global and sent me a copy of Global's response.

The agent from Consumer Services wrote in his letter, "We shall retain this complaint and the company's response in our active data base for future reference." When I called to find out exactly that meant, I was not given a clear or meaningful response. I suggested I write a response to Global's letter because it was filled with untruths. I have proof of their actions because I have kept a journal and also recorded their conversations with me. I now have discovered that Global made an illegal debit to my checking account. When I called them, I was told they "do it all the time" and that I could not have a copy of the check I had sent because it had already been destroyed.

I had sent them a check and they claim that it was unsigned and they had to put it through as a debit. My bank calls it fraud. They have launched an investigation but cannot recover the check because it was not processed as a check. I have notified the Ministry of this action and received an email stating they would contact Global regarding this. I have yet to hear further and have sent copies of all my complaints to the new Minister, the Premier of Ontario, the leaders of the P.C. and N.D.P. parties among others.

I have also contacted the RCMP who say because my bank recovered the funds and it was a small amount ($50) they would not pursue it but agreed it was definitely fraud. I also contacted RBC who is the banker for Global and they have launched an investigation. It is interesting to note that it was RBC who placed this loan with Global and who authorized the automatic debit from my account. I have also contacted the Waterloo Regional Police at the advice of my bank who are awaiting the results of the bank investigation. I can no longer make any payments to Global because my bank will not process any payments to them because of Global's illegal actions. The RBC, despite refusing payments from me prior, because the loan was in the hands of Global, now want me to make payments to them. I am unsure how to proceed with this. But, I certainly will not let it go. I am prepared to go public.

I feel everyone's pain over this one. I set up payments over a year ago. Fortunately, I didn't give Global my bank account info. I set up payments through my own bank. I've been trying to speak to a person at Global all day today. And I, like may others, keep getting the 'full mailbox' message.

Somewhere along the line my bank deleted Global's address from my registry, and that is all I am needing; this is the sole purpose of me contacting Global.. The Capital One people can not/ will not give me Global's address or even a web site. I must call them at this number. at this point, I believe I'd welcome even an extremely rude person, as long as I get to speak to someone. I have considered just mailing payments to Capital One, however I am almost afraid that they would not be credited correctly. So I am still waiting.

I fell behind on my Capital One account, after we discovered our 16-year-old had been sexually molested by my ex, and she began drinking and using drugs to cope with the situation. We had nearly $11,000.00 in out-of-pocket expenses in 2009 and nearly lost our home. Then Global Credit & Collection Corp began calling me. They called me constantly and were extremely rude.

It is nearly impossible to get in contact with someone. When given an extension to call, the mailbox is regularly full. On the few times I have actually gotten to speak with someone, I have had to repeat my information, as if it were my first time to contact them. Although I do not want sympathy, I do expect some compassion and assistance/guidance. I don't believe they teach their staff those skills. I was even told by one female associate that she didn't want to hear my excuses.

I cannot take calls at work, and I am currently working two jobs. I was advised I needed to make time and that by not being available, I was being "difficult."

I will not work with this company. I do online payments with Capital One whenever I can. I am hoping that is enough to keep me from being sued.

I was contacted on 6/22/2010 about a debt I owed Capital One. They said they now are trying to collect this debt and I need to pay it in full now. They said if I didn't, they would sue me. I told them that I would try to make small monthly payments, but since I have been out of work for over 6 months, that’s all I could do. To make a long story short, the man was very rude saying if I can pay my house and some other bills I have, I can pay them. He then told me my family should help me and I didn't sound like I was missing any meals.

I got very upset at this man and said a few choice words to him and hung the phone up. I then called back later and after going to the voice mail full thing several times, I got through. They wanted me to set up a payment plan with higher payments than I was paying Capital One. I would not agree nor will I give them any bank information that they are requesting.

I received a phone call in January from this company about my debt with Capital One. I agreed to a payment plan and gave them my bank account information. That was the biggest mistake I have ever made. Since I started making payments, I have not received any statement from Global or Capital One. When I try to contact the company or Capital One, I keep getting a voice mail. It always says that the mailbox is full and cannot leave a message. I have sent messages over the computer also and not received any response from them.

When I did talk to the company, the man was very rude and had me in tears. They threatened legal action against me if I did not pay. With the economy, I have not been able to find a job and I need to stop the debits from coming out. I am willing to send them money every month, but I was told that I could not do that; they needed to debit it from my account.

I spoke with my attorney about filing for bankruptcy and he told me not to. My attorney then told me that I should never have a credit agency directly debit the money from my account and that I never signed to authorize them from taking it out of my account. I keep trying to get a hold of someone to stop this payment from coming out and I cannot get a hold of anyone.

The company had left intimidating messages on my cell phone. When I returned the calls to find out what calls were regarding, they stated they were collecting a debt for Capitol One. When I questioned certain charges, they became angry and threatened to take me to court. Stated, I needed to get a lawyer. Craig "supervisor" said he was a busy man and didn't have time to explain this to me again. They would not tell me what charges on my credit card were from last month even though I had not used the card in almost a year. Craig told me I needed to borrow money against paid off vehicles. I didn't need 4 vehicles.

When I tried to explain that I had 2 teenagers and husband who all worked, Craig told me to have the kids help pay the bill "they shouldn't get free ride". Who do these people think they are? When I tried to make payment arrangements, it was never enough. He wanted 1/3 of owed. He said if I would have paid my bills on time, I wouldn't have to deal with him. I told him that was impossible. He stated I needed to prepare for court then. When I asked to talk to whoever was in charge, he stated they would tell me the same thing. I didn't need to talk to them. I ended up hanging up on Craig and contacted Capitol One.

This company had called me with automated system multiple times each day and when I finally got through to a person, she wouldn't tell me anything and just wanted to know if someone, by some name that I don't remember, was at this number. When I asked them to take me off their call list, she refused. She finally told me after I asked to speak to her manager and she wouldn't let me that she worked for Global Credit and Collection but would not provide me her location. Finally, she stopped responding to my question so I hung up.

I was contacted by global and instructed that I needed to settle my account with Capital One through them. When asked how much I would be able to pay monthly, I told them $100 and the gentleman told me that wasn't enough to settle the account. So I decided on a larger amount and set up a payment arrangement with them to begin on the 10th of the month. They have debited my account on two occasions sooner than the agreed upon date and has wreaked havoc on my checking account. I tried to contact them several times a day and only get a voicemail and no one ever calls me back. I have since stopped payment through them with the help of my bank and continue to try to contact them to resolve the situation to no avail.

I was making payments to Capital One online. I was put into a collection agency to which when I signed on to the website for Capital One, would refer you to the Capital One collection site. I agreed to pay $20 a month. I was told that it would stop all of the interest and phone calls. I made payments for over one year to this site. I explained that my husband was out of work and this is what I could safely say I could pay for now. There were times I paid more than $20 if possible.

After a year goes by and I get a phone call at my home from ** who makes the phone call sound very serious and did not state that she was from any collection company or otherwise. I called back as soon as possible and spoke to her and that is when she told me that I was now making payment to Global and that if I agreed to pay them, and I had to give them my bank account information, that is the only way that they would stop the interest charges. I told her that I didn't understand and that I was already in agreement with Capital One for over a year. She told me that they never stopped the interest and now they have my account. How stupid I was that I gave them my checking account number and routeing number so they could take out an agreed upon amount of $20.

Then I get a call from **. The number they took down was just one digit off. So I gave her the number again. Then on a Tuesday, April 20, ** called my workplace! She told my co-worker that she was expecting her call. I was in a different office so they gave her the phone number to the office that I was working at that Tuesday. I told her never to call me at my workplace because I work for a physician and could lose my job for personal phone calls while at work. Never call me at work again. They have my home phone number.

On April 23, as agreed, the first $20 was taken out of my checking account. Today April 28, a person named ** calls and tells my co-worker that I am expecting his call. My co-worker tells me I have a phone call. I assume it is a patient. It was ** as he said his name was. He had a very heavy accent and stated that he was from Global and that I have made no attempt to handle my Capital One account. He then began to threaten me with the fact that he has my checking account information and that he knows how much my mortgage payment is and how much I have in the bank and that he will take all the money I have in the bank out. He then continues to threaten me that he will speak to my boss and have me fired.

I told him to never call my job and that in fact they just took out a payment of $20 out of my checking account. He demanded the full payment or settlement or else he is going to sue me. I told him that was fine and hung up on him. Within less than 5 minutes. he was back on the phone this time asking for my boss. They gave me the phone call again. At this point, while at work, I was so upset that one of my co-workers told me to record the conversation. I stated into the phone that I am recording the conversation and ** replied that it is fine and he represented Capital One. He continued to shout at me and would not listen to me. I told him if I had the money I would gladly pay Capital One so that I didn't ever have to talk to him again.

To make matters worse, I am a heart attack survivor and told him that he was upsetting me very badly. By the time I hung up on him for the 2nd time, my office manager and nurse practitioner were ready to call 911 to take me to the hospital. He had me that upset. I do not deserve this harassment. I also told him that phone calls like this could cause me to lose my job. I did agree to make payments to them. I have since today closed my bank account. I am making a good faith effort to make payments while the roofing business is horrible and my husband is barley making a 40-hour work week. He had been out of work with 4 knee surgeries for 2 years and that was the start of the late payments. I have already had a heart attack and stents in my heart. We struggle to make ends meet with medical bills and home life bills.

I have a payment plan set up with Global for $83.07. It's taken from my account electronically on the 21st of every month. I called Global the week of April 12 informing them I wouldn't have the money available to come out of my account on the 21st, if the date could be changed to April 30 to come out. It had been confirmed that it would and my last payment with their company is schedule for May. Global didn't set up the payment re-schedule and took the money out on April 21.

The funds were not available and I was assessed a NSF fee from my bank. I called Global to talk to a representative and Mrs. L. was extremely rude, negative toned, and yelled at me the whole time I was on the phone with her. When I asked her to calm her voice she screamed more. I am very displeased with this company. I have never had such rude customer service in my life. When I asked to speak to someone less rude, she told me no and there was no one else I could talk to. I even asked to speak to someone specific and she still said no! Global is terrible.

My fiancee called me at work on 1/31/08 nervous and upset stating that a Mr. Taboo called threatening legal action against me for a debt with Capital One. My fiancee did a 3-way call to Mr. Taboo who said he was part of the legal department who was in the process of filing legal action against me for my credit card debt with Capital One. He verifed my telephone and address information. The address was incorrect and some phone numbers I no longer possessed. So he updated the information. Mr. Taboo said he has been trying to contact me since 12/31/07 with phone calls and letters. I stated to him I did not receive the information in the mail but had received the phone calls. Mr. Taboo said that I must pay $5,000 or I would face legal action. I told him that I was willing to do a payment plan. He said the debt needed to be paid and told me to take out a loan on the equity on the vehicle I'm paying for with the lienholder or some other financial institution; or use my 401k to pay for the debt. I told him I already had an existing 401k loan and would not be able to take out a loan and I would call the banks to see if they did that type of thing. He said I must call him back by 4:30 pm that same day.

I telephoned Mr. Taboo at 5:00 pm telling him that the banks refused and he said he would have to call his client (Capital One) to see if a payment plan could be arranged.

Mr. Taboo left a message for me at work and also on Monday, 2/4/08 to call him back. I telephoned him at 8:32 pm that day and he gave me two options. which I can not fulfill under the financial hardship I'm in right now. I told him to file the legal action because I could not agree to the options.

Mr. Taboo became irrate and started yelling saying "you have a bad attitude; you are so quick to want to file a legal suit. You have this blase attitude, so you must have money because only people that have money have this blase attitude. You do have the money." When he had finished yelling at me, I calmly told him to put both options in writing and send it to me. He screamed "No, you write me, I'm not going to write you." Then I requested to speak to his supervisor. A Ms. Skanda got on the phone, and said that this was a debt I had to pay. She also told to take out a 401K loan. Then Ms. Skanda told me to file for bankruptcy, I explained to her why I couldn't and that I was going throught a difficult time which most of America is going through. Ms. Skanda then said we are not talking about the economy and what does that have to do with me. I told her that I was an American Citizen who paid my taxes and the economy does affect me. Her voice continued to rise and I told her I could not communicate with her if she was going to yell. She began to shout over and over and over again on the phone "Pay your bill! Pay your bill! Pay your bill!" Then hung up on me.

I then called Capital One and spoke to Ken. I told him that the debt collection agency that they sold my debt to or hired to collect the debt was rude, unprofessional, and belitted me while I was speaking to them and I was filing a complaint against them. He said that my debt was not sold and he was in the same office as the persons I spoke to and he did not hear any yelling. He then transferred me to his manager Mr. Alex Riebeel.

I explained to him what happened and for him to review the tape. I told him I hoped the conversation was taped (the automatic recording said they do) so he could hear the unprofessional and belittling way his employees talked to me. He asked me if I was going to pay the debt. I told him yes. I was aware of the debt and wanted to pay it but I am unable to pay what Mr. Taboo suggested. I also told him that I was filing a complaint against Global with the Dept. of Consumers Affair and writing the Chairman/CEO of Captial One. He said he would call me back.
