    My wife and I recently moved from Raleigh, North Carolina, to Dallas, Texas. We chose to drive her car because we had two cats to transport, but since I couldn't drive both cars, we needed a transport service for mine. My wife found SGT Auto Transport online; they had good reviews and a decent price. We looked at two to three companies before deciding on them.

    Setting up the transport was a bit challenging. It was difficult to get someone on the phone from SGT, and getting straight answers was tough. While SGT is a freight forwarder, the actual company they paired us with was small, but quite impressive. I don't think I'll choose SGT again, but I'll definitely consider the small company they matched us with.

    Pickup was in Fuquay, North Carolina, and drop-off was in Louisville, Texas. Although I can't recall the exact number of days it was supposed to take, the driver was excellent. He beat us to Texas by about six hours. During the process, the driver was very communicative, honest about being late at the start, and kept us updated. He even delivered our car right in front of the house and placed the keys in the mailbox, sending us photos to confirm the delivery.

    While I wasn't entirely impressed with the freight broker part of SGT, the auto transport company was fantastic. The quote and final price matched, and it was one of the better prices I found, which was part of the reason we chose SGT. I'd recommend friends or family to consider them, although I don't plan on moving again anytime soon.

      When I googled transport companies, SGT was one of the first ones I saw. I did some more research and found that it had some decent reviews, so I decided to give them a try. Overall, my experience was positive. The delivery of my vehicle was on the expected date of arrival, which I found impressive. It seems like their drivers are quite diligent.

      Throughout the process, I didn't need to reach out for updates as I was kept informed about the location of my vehicle. I found the quoted price for the transportation fair and reasonable.

      One area for improvement could be the delivery location setup. The drop-off was supposed to be at a shopping plaza, but due to the large size of the transport truck, it couldn't navigate inside the plaza. This meant I had to meet the driver on a busy street, which was a bit inconvenient. While I can't fault him for not going into the shopping lot, he parked right in the middle of the street and I had to search for where he was at. It would be beneficial for them to arrange more convenient pickup locations in such situations.

      Overall, I would rate their service a 4 out of 5 stars because despite the minor inconvenience with the delivery location, the service was satisfactory.

      I recently used SGT Auto Transport for a PCS military move across states after hearing about them through my husband, as they are known for catering to the military. We only considered SGT for the transport, and setting it up was generally fine. However, it was a bit confusing because they provide a four-day window instead of an exact pickup date. Fortunately, this was okay for us, but it could be inconvenient for others without scheduling flexibility. When it was time for pickup, the company—not the driver—contacted me to inform me the truck would be arriving within 30 minutes. I met the driver in an open lot near my home. We both took pictures and videos of the car for documentation before he loaded it onto the truck. The interaction with the driver was straightforward, and he assured me of the car's arrival date.

      The delivery process was similar; the driver met my husband at a large lot near our new home as trucks of that size couldn't come directly to us. Although advertised as door-to-door, it required meeting at a nearby location. The driver was accommodating and drove my car back to our home so that my husband could inspect it in the light. The car was in perfect condition, just as it was when it was picked up. Although the service was generally smooth, aspects like the ambiguous pickup windows and the weekend scheduling gap were slightly inconvenient. Instead of a Thursday-Friday-Saturday frame, it extended to Monday, which complicated our plans.

      SGT Auto Transport has good reviews with the Better Business Bureau. My experience with the driver was positive; he communicated well by calling ahead, and I was satisfied with the interaction. Regarding the pricing, it seemed fair to me, although I'm not very experienced with auto transport costs.

      However, I did have some concerns with the communication from SGT. Being my first time transporting a car, I was anxious about the timing as I had a flight to catch and was waiting to hear from them about the pickup. There was a delay in communication, which made me nervous about whether they had everything planned. I felt like I had to reach out frequently to get updates rather than them proactively keeping me informed.       I preferred not to add 1300 miles to a new vehicle I was purchasing from my parents so I had my vehicle shipped by SGT Auto Transport, and the experience was quite satisfactory. They offered door-to-door service, but due to my location in a college town, the driver dropped the car off at a nearby Walmart, which was convenient.

      The customer service was excellent. SGT's representatives were very communicative, and I appreciated speaking with native English speakers, which made the process smooth. However, there was a bit of confusion regarding damage liability, since it wasn't entirely clear how it would be handled upon delivery. Nonetheless, the terms were generally understood after checking with them.

      I chose open transport from the options they provided, and the quote was competitive, coming in lower than most other quotes I had received. Although another company offered a slightly lower price, reviews were not reassuring, so I opted to stick with SGT after their customer service reassured me.

      Pricing was slightly above the initial quote, increasing by around $30-$40, but still remained under $1000 for the long-distance haul across the continent, which I found reasonable.

      I did most transactions via their website, which was user-friendly and had their contact number prominently displayed, simplifying communication whenever needed. There was a minor glitch on the website, but it wasn't significant enough to cause any issues.

      In conclusion, I would definitely recommend SGT Auto Transport to others. There were minor hiccups, but the overall service, from customer interaction to the value, was commendable.

      If I were able to rate this zero stars I would. Our experience with this company was horrific. The communication was terrible. They tried to contract with 3 different carriers for us, and we finally said forget it. One truck broke down...ok that happens. The next carrier showed up with 0 paperwork and did not speak English at all. I mean not at all. So he could not communicate with anyone. He had no information whatsoever on where he was delivering the car or any paperwork at all.

      When I spoke with customer service they kept saying they needed something from the dealership that the dealership, who has been in business 40+ years, has never released to any car carrier. The third one was almost as bad and unprofessional as the second. The dealer advised us not to release the car to any of these companies, who were making highly irregular requests for information. So SGT, in our opinion, was not using vetted reputable carriers for our order. Nightmare experience and total waste of 5 days. My husband is flying out there to pick up the car himself.

      ***DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY***. I am a 20 year retired Veteran and contacted this company looking to transport a vehicle to a family member in need. I put in my credit card information for a quote and as a placeholder (no charge) while they look for a driver to perform the service. All of the companies I've contacted did not officially charge my card while they were looking for drivers. It was only when they found a driver to do the job that they made the charge. SGT sent me an email informing me that they charged my Credit Card $72.00 a day after I had already found a driver from another company. When I called SGT and told them that I was charged $72.00 and asked them to make a correction (and that I had already found a driver from another company), the person on the phone seemed to concur.

      Almost as soon as I hung up the phone, I received another email informing that I was being charged an additional $77.00. When I called the person back again, the person refused to reverse either charge, stating that the company was entitled to the charge per the contract (??). As a result, I had to cancel my credit card (which leaves me without one until the bank can provide a new one), and I am out of $149.00 + the cost of interest until the bill is paid. I received a phone call from a woman this morning after putting in a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (the business seems to be located in Bohemia NY as per Google). The women proceeded to re-state the company's position, insisting that SGT was entitled to "both charges" (for services not rendered!) and "tried to offer some kind of compromise credit for (I believe) services in the future (the most unbelievable part of all).

      Negotiated for a one-way pick up in Kentucky. Delivery in South Carolina. Agreed to a firm price and they said there would be no changes. They called today and double the price. When I refused and hung up, they called back and dropped a price 1/3 which was still $200 more than we had agreed And we refused so they canceled the contract. This after waiting 5 days and no call from them…. Forget the positive reviews please.

      Roughly 3 weeks before I wanted to ship my car from Washington to California, I entered into a contract with SGT. I agreed to the higher cost package that had a two-day pickup window, a Thursday and Friday, as I informed the SGT representative I was flying down to California early Saturday morning to be there when the car arrived.

      After not hearing anything other than trying to upsell, adding an additional 100 pounds of personal belongings to shipped with the car, I reached out to SGT on the Tuesday before the Thursday potential pickup date, for a status update. I was informed that the 2-day pickup window was still two days away and they would have a carrier for either Thursday or Friday. I then got a call asking if I would take a Saturday pickup. I reminded the rep that I was flying out early Saturday morning, which is why I selected the two-day Thursday/Friday pickup.

      I heard nothing on Thursday. On Friday, I asked for a status update and was reminded they were still within the 2-day pickup window. I then got a call again offering a Saturday pickup, and again informed them I was flying out Saturday morning and would not be available. Their solution was to leave the car, a Porsche 911, at some location with the keys so the carrier could put in the trailer. I declined that option and asked why SGT couldn’t just honor the agreement. When I called at 5 pm Friday, I was again informed they were still within the 2-day window, but they could not provide a pickup time and did not have a carrier, but “I will put you at the top of the stack”. At 6 pm, there was still no carrier, and no indication there would be a carrier. I will never consider SGT for a transport job again.

      I booked with SGT Auto 2 weeks in advance from when I needed my car gone. They booked me and quoted me 720$. I made sure to ask multiple times if that would be the final price nothing added on. They reassured me over and over again. I waited a week for a driver to become available before I was told it was going to be 1100$. They refused to bring the price down to what the booked me for. We are a military family who doesn’t have much flexibility on moving and now are left stranded. They are all brokers who are trying to get more money out of you. Do yourself a favor and book with a U.S company who has their own drivers. We are now left with a couple days to figure out how to get my car across country.

      How does SGT Auto Transport work?

      1. Get a quote. The process with SGT Auto Transport starts when you request a free quote online, by phone or via live chat.
