R.V. owners beware!!! This platform will gladly take your money yet they will not give you support when needed in any way. If you choose to do business with them be prepared for hours of hold time on the phone. When the call is finally answered it will be met with a representative that is difficult to understand because they speak English poorly, but wait, then they will put you on hold only to come back with no resolution and then put you on hold again.

If you’re an honest, hardworking person looking to rent an RV, do NOT trust RVShare. This platform completely failed me as a renter even after I provided overwhelming evidence to prove a false damage claim was made against me. The RV owner, Dana Allen, claimed we caused damage to her vehicle. This is a complete lie. My husband, the driver, has 20 years of professional CDL experience, with a spotless record, no accidents, no lost loads, no damage, currently drives hazardous tankers. We treat other people’s property with the highest respect.
Dana claimed she had photos of the RV before our rental. When asked to provide those pictures with date and time stamps (which any phone photo includes), nothing was produced because the photos don’t exist. She lied, and RVShare looked the other way. We even provided aerial images showing that Dana parks her RV in a very tight, restrictive space. The damage clearly happened before we ever picked it up. But RVShare ignored it all. They took over $500 from us without a fair investigation or any legitimate proof.
This was our first time renting, and it was ruined. I want to warn others:❌ If the owner lies, RVShare won’t protect you.
❌ If you provide proof, they won’t care.
❌ If you expect fairness, you won’t get it.
And if you’re considering renting from Dana **, be warned, she is dishonest and manipulative. Do not rent from her on RVShare or anywhere else. I regret ever trusting this platform. RVShare enables corruption and punishes honest people. I’ve learned the hard way, now I’m warning you. Don’t let this happen to you.

Terrible Experience. Never again. Customer service could barely speak English. Lied about why the insurance was Mandatory. The Insurance itself is out of this world expensive. So I cancelled the reservation before the 30 day full refund policy but they still charged a cancellation fee. Asked to speak to a supervisor who could barely speak English as well and offered no help. There’s a reason they have mostly 1 star reviews.

I have made 2 reservations and had them delivered to me. I have NOT pulled them myself. They charge me insurance based on me driving the RV. When I called to dispute they basically said too bad. Not to mention the insurance is out of sight and you do not have the option of supplying your own. My insurance rate was higher than the actual rental. I have heard Outdoorsy does not do this. They have a stationary insurance that is much less. I will be using them next time.

After agreeing to rent an RV, RV Share kept adding on previously undisclosed fees, for insurance, for nonrefundable deposit, for service fees, etc, etc, ad nauseam.. The last straw was when they wanted to charge an additional $12.99 per day to add my wife as an authorized driver. Their approach to this rental was unprofessional, irresponsible, unreasonable, and bordered on the fraudulent. A rental that was quoted at $243 per day, would have actually cost about $500 per day once all of the additional charges were applied. I have cancelled the rental and would recommend that this business be avoided like the plague.

I attempted to rent an RV through RVshare, but after checkout I received an email informing me of several unexpected insurance fees—none of which were clearly disclosed upfront, and there was no way to opt out. I tried contacting customer service immediately, but no one answered. Days later, I finally spoke with someone who clearly had handled this type of complaint many times before. They walked me through the cancellation process—but still kept the “service fee” despite the misleading experience.
I’ve rented RVs, homes, and more over the years, and this was by far the strangest and least transparent experience I’ve had. I ended up canceling and losing money, but I felt compelled to leave a review so others are aware. There are better, more honest local companies out there—do yourself a favor and avoid RVshare.

The driver verification is very intrusive. Not only do you send them a copy of your license but then they want a selfie with Front left side & right side profile. They access you phone or computer. They also ask for a voice recording. Really! Plus you agree to a background check. Nice RVs but do you want the intrusiveness?

I was an owner and rented my RV out through RVShare. I had a booking where I gave explicit instructions to protect the rig's plumbing during freezing temperatures. They ignored all instructions which resulted in severe damage to my plumbing. This renter opted for RVShare's "waiver" in lieu of a security deposit, which provides up to $1500 in "coverage" for a nominal fee. I provided complete proof and documentation demonstrating clear causation, yet they denied the "claim," as if this were some big insurance claim. It wasn't. It was a matter of $500 which would have been covered by a security deposit, but they push guests to go this route and then completely screw the owners over. Do not list your RV here. Outdoorsy is a wonderful alternative where I have not had any of these experiences.

We rented from RVShare and the back wheels of the RV came off while driving on the highway! All 8 wheel studs were completely broken off. We were left stranded for over 7 hours. RVShare's customer service and roadside gave us the runaround, at one point said we would have to pay an additional $2k to tow it, and we were left to find a place to fix it. After having to rent a car to continue our trip, we are now left with all of the expenses and didn't even get the RV for the days we rented it for. RVShare has been terrible in trying to get some money back and has not shown care about how our family was in danger.

We rented an RV for 2 weeks; daily rate was about $170 but with taxes, insurance, fees etc, the total was $4,225. We had mechanical issues after 7 days that the owner admitted had been happening for 6 months. RV Share only agreed to refund me for three days ($1,100) as we weren't able to return the RV when it stopped working as we were about 1000 miles from home. I disputed the charges with Chase (credit card company) and they did give me credit for half the RV share fees.

We rented an RV and faced numerous issues, yet were unfairly charged $1,387 for damages we did not cause even after paying $347 in insurance. Booking & Pickup: On April 15, 2024, we contacted Nedra Woods, the RV owner, to rent the RV for 3 days. We negotiated early pickup and late drop-off for $100 each, and finalized the booking on April 19. On May 1, the owner informed us that the RV had a damaged door that couldn't be fixed in time. The door could NOT be closed from the INSIDE. She offered a $200 discount, which we accepted due to our travel plans with friends. Pics attached.
Condition of RV: Upon pickup, the RV was dirty and had several damages. We documented the dirt in the bedroom and on the couch, and the exterior damages. At the campground, we found the awning inoperable due to duct tape. Despite owner's assurance that the awning was functional (!), the tape prevented it from moving and removing the tape revealed the broken frame, making it unsafe in the wind. We never left it unattended or open overnight contrary to the baseless claims from the owner. Pics attached.
Safety Hazards: The rear left luggage compartment couldn't be locked and opened while we were on the road, requiring us to tape it shut. The exterior light and some power sockets were non-functional, leaving us reliant on the awning's LED lights. Pics attached. Incident with Rear Window: While parked, my sister tried to open the rear window, which immediately shattered without force. We cleaned the area and taped the shades to secure the RV, storing the window frames in a luggage compartment. Pics and video attached show that it couldn't have been hit by a tree, as owner baselessly claimed. Despite comprehensive evidence (photos, videos, and comments), RVShare unfairly charged us $1,387. This charge is unjustified as we did not cause the damages listed. We demand a fair review and resolution of this matter with full refund for this upsetting, aggravating and frustrating experience.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They charge huge fees for insurance and you don't know this until after the fact. A 3 day $125 rental cost me $836. The equipment ending up not being suitable for the site and even though I had just rented it a couple days before they would not return my money! Even the delivery charge??? Back and forth run around between owner and company. What a joke. Rent from a local company. State Parks have reputable companies. I wish I knew that first.

I am writing to formally file a complaint against RVShare concerning a highly distressing experience with their RV rental service, which resulted in significant financial loss and inconvenience. This complaint highlights severe service deficiencies and a worrying lack of support that potential customers should be aware of.
Dates: April 4, 2024, through April 10, 2024
Pick-up Location: Webster, TX
Destination: Burnet, TX
Shortly after picking up the RV and barely an HOUR into our journey, we encountered severe mechanical failures. The cab filled with smoke, accompanied by a strong burning plastic odor emanating from the rear near the tires. We immediately pulled over in Waller, TX, and contacted RVShare’s 24/7 roadside assistance. Despite the urgency, we faced lengthy holds and inadequate service, ultimately being informed that they could only tow the RV but not repair it roadside nor send anyone out to assess the situation further to make the proper call for repair.
The promised towing took over two hours to initiate, far surpassing the 90-minute confirmed ETA provided by RVShare, and only after repeated calls did we connect with the tow truck driver, who informed us that he was on-call all day at his home and never received a call. This delay caused us to miss our campground check-in, forcing us to seek last-minute hotel accommodations and alternate transportation, doubling our expenses on the busiest weekend Texas has seen for the Eclipse. We were graciously assisted by the tow truck driver and RV service shop owner, who kindly transported us and our luggage to the nearest hotel at 11pm due to the unavailability of Uber or Lyft services on our area.
Customer Support and Refund Issues: The next day, April 5th, 2024, attempting to cancel the booking through RVShare's website only redirected me to message the RV owner directly. Though apologetic and understanding, the owner directed us back to RVShare for refunds. When contacting RVShare's customer support, I was informed that only the RV owner could issue refunds and that our prepaid insurance and RVShare’s service fees were non-refundable. Contradictorily, the RV owner received different information, being told that cancellation could only occur with our consent and verification, and that no refunds would be issued except for the unused insurance days. Despite lengthy hold times and promises of escalation, I was told they would have a supervisor call me back immediately because they were experiencing “technical issues” with their call transferring.
We received no follow-up calls or emails to confirm cancellation or address our grievances whatsoever. As of today, Friday, April 12th, 2024, I am returned home from an exhausting and disappointing trip and I am taking the time to thoroughly write out my grievances after attempting to make the best out of my situation over the weekend to warn others and attempt to recoup the costs for the worst customer experience I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with..
Financial Impact:Total Rental Cost: $2,694.25
RV Rental: $1,646.00 for 6 nights
Service Fee: $162.95
Insurance: $806.30
Additional Driver Fee: $79.00
This situation not only caused significant financial strain but also considerable stress and disappointment, effectively ruining our planned vacation. The lack of accountability from RVShare and inadequate customer support systems are alarming and unacceptable. I urge the BBB to investigate these practices to prevent future customers from similar experiences. Additionally, I am considering further actions with the state Attorney General and involving my credit card company to dispute the charges due to the failure to receive the advertised service. Thank you for addressing this grievance. I am available for further details if required.

I wish that we had good things to say, unfortunately, we ran into the worst issue possible with our rental. On the second day of our trip when we were 800 miles from home we discovered that the RV was infested with mice. We reached out right away and it was agreed we would resolve when we were scheduled to come back.
We were visiting my sick father in North Carolina over 4th of July week. Not only did the mice eat several of my shirts, But there was mice feces all over the drawers with our clothing and all over the cabinets with our food. We had two toddlers with us and it was horrifying. My father had a few traps and we did catch three over the course of 2 days. We could definitely hear more in the walls. My daughter was petrified and didn't want to sleep in there. As short-term rental owners ourselves, we tried to work out something reasonably.
We didn't demand an entire refund or even compensation for the clothing, food, and other accommodations we needed to make for sleeping during the rest of our vacation, but we did expect that part of our stay get refunded. The first offer we received wasn't reasonable at all. It took days of back and forth to come to what I felt like was a small resolution. It took about 10 phone calls to RV Share to even get them to start processing the agreed upon refund. The owner of the RV also tried to text my husband trying to insinuate that we got the mice wherever we were staying. We made sure that everything was locked up at all times and never left any food out in the open. We had it parked in a driveway of a residential neighborhood at my father's house just as we had explained when we booked the rental.
We were not in the woods or a place where we would have gotten the mice. My husband was extremely pissed that he would even try and blame us after I made a post on Facebook and all of my RV owner friends told us how common of a problem it is and how hard it is to make sure to keep them out. It sounds like this rental is fairly new and they may not know how to maintain it yet to keep the mice out. I wish I could say we had a good experience, but all around it was a disgusting and horrifying experience and it was very infuriating after the return with the runaround and insinuations. I would never rent an RV again.

We rented an RV from RVshare for a vacation for my mother's 90th birthday. The night before the scheduled date the RV owner, Paul B text us and said he that it was hot at our destination and he was concerned that the refrigerator would not get cold and he offered use of a cooler. We went ahead with the pickup on July 11th. The engine light was on in the RV, the gas was at half, water was at half and the septic tank smelled like it was not empty. We went home and cleaned the RV. There was old pizza in the oven. While we were clear we noticed that the a/c’s were not working properly. We contacted the owner and he said they would eventually. After 45 minutes we realized that the a/c’s and refrigerator were not going to work.
We contacted the owner and he said that he had not turned in the paperwork to RV Share and we could bring the RV back and we would be refunded. We delivered the RV back to Paul B.’s house. I gave Hume the receipt for $60 for filling the gas tank. 2 days later we were refunded by RV Share. I contacted Paul B about paying back for the gasoline but he refused. I have contacted RV Share and they said because he canceled the Reservation we have no recourse. We had to completely change plans because of this and incurred expenses for change. Paul B knew that the air conditioning and refrigerator were not working and still rented this vehicle. This was a material nonconformity from the RV Share website advertisement of the vehicle. All the cost incurred by us and Paul B will not pay $60 for filling the tank, which should have been full at pickup. RV Share will do nothing. I would advise to rent from a different company.

I previously reviewed RVshare questioning a fee for their insurance & protection package. As it turns out the fee was correct and what I thought they charged me for was for another company. I received a prompt email and phone call today. As I stated before the overall RVshare rental experience was excellent.

Overall rental June 2023 was excellent. RV was as listed, clean, well stocked and delivery & pick up by owner excellent. Would like to rent again next year. My complaint - Insurance receipt listed a $129 fee. My bill for insurance & protection was $180. I spoke with 2 customer representatives who were unable to answer my question as to why there was a difference or a break down of the charges. Sent 2 online requests to their website and never received a reply. BEWARE of all charges before you agree to pay. If you inquire hopefully you can speak to someone in the United States who can answer any questions you have.

It was a very bad experience. What looked to be $159 per night for 4 nights turned into over $1500. Then when I closed my web browser I had many emails from them & they keep on coming. Also, they gathered my credit card & personal information before disclosing all of the charges. They are not ethical & don't respect your privacy. Beware!

I made a reservation to rent an RV for two nights. However due to the distance to pick up the RV along with the 4th of July traffic we decided to book for an extra night to allow added time. Several red flags with the rental along with other considerations caused us to have second thoughts and decided not to move forward with this reservation. The reservations were made in February for July online. The total cost of this transaction was $1,085.60 of which the non-refundable amount is $103.60. I understand a lot is at stake with the rental of such a vehicle and added insurance fee was included in that final figure. I find a nonrefundable service fee of close to 10% extraordinarily high. Yes, it was written in the contract. I advise reading all of the fine print and be prepared to pay.
PS The first red flag was the co-owner of the RV not addressing an important concern before accepting our reservation. If I had not followed up and learned that additional arrangements would need to be made as I did not know the park we planned on using to camp does not allow use of generators during certain night time hours. Our original site did not have electrical power hookup. But since we were making the reservations early there was an available power site I was able to secure. (There are only a handful of such there.)
We would have been without the power needed for my husband's CPAP machine had I not learned all of this. This is a medical need. The RV owner has their own set of rules, fees, etc. At the time although all the added rules and fees had us feeling very overwhelmed. I just felt I would address some of the red flags I experienced that caused us to go forward and cancel our reservation. IN fairness to the site, had another RV been available that would have better suited us they would have released us of the said nonrefundable fee and apply it to the new reservation. I just have to say it felt as though there did not seem to be much concern for us as consumers to enjoy this experience as we had hoped.

Today is July 5, 2022 and I made my final payment for a RV that I rented in February for a trip on August 4 2022 through RVshare.com. An hour later I received an email that the rental was cancelled by the owner. After calling RV share I found out the owner can cancel anytime even the day of the pick up. This trip is a 8 hr drive to get the rental and another 4 hrs to the camp site. The owner relisted the rental as available for the same days and now won’t return any emails. I even offered to pay more money and still no emails. Be careful if you are renting a 2020 Crossroads RV Zinger from Katie in Yankton South Dakota as she may cancel your rental at any time and not communicate at all. Not a good first impression of RVshare.com.

I leased this vehicle from 10/9/21 - 10/16/21. The RV was dropped off in Forsyth, GA on 10/9/21 and I drove the RV with my wife and granddaughter to the 1st location about three 3 hours away to Hilton Head Motor Coach Resort, SC. As soon as we pulled onto the interstate, we realized that the refrigerator was moving around so we reached out to RVshare and the owners to get guidance on what to do. The Sing's and RVshare were unresponsive so I asked the Motor Coach Resort for a referral to an RV Service Center in the area that could inspect the RV. The resort staff referred me to RV 1, in Bluffton SC PH# **.
Two service technicians came to the resort to inspect the RV and stated that the brackets that secured the refrigerator were not installed in the factory or an authorized Coachmen dealer. They stated that the RV should have never been leased until the refrigerator was properly secured. The service technicians secured the refrigerator with a cargo strap so we could drive it safely back to GA. I returned the RV back to the designated drop off location 4 days early on 10/12/21. The RV service technicians told both my wife and I that we were extremely fortunate that the refrigerator did not fall out of place and cause death to a passenger and/or serious damage to the RV.

We rented an RV, which was materially different than what was advertised and paid for. This entitles bait and switch. Upon delivery, the RV had issues and we only had few minutes to accept the RV as provided. This entitles breach of original contract. Upon completion of the trip, the owner claimed some cosmetic damage that we are not sure how it occurred and RV Share said they are independent mediation experts and have reviewed the dispute and held us responsible and permitted the owner to charge us all sorts of damage replacement costs, processing fees and labor for the repairs.
We asked for their legal team's information so that we can file a lawsuit in the appropriate court. When questioned if the mediator is public, independent or registered mediator or arbitrator, there was no further response to any of our questions. I learn that they profit from all transactions with a percentage cut derived from all the money collected. If such companies are allowed to continue such malpractice legally or illegally, it only shows how poor our ethical and human civilization has fallen.

I had a terrible experience with RVShare and will never use them ever again. In April 2021 we booked an RV for rental in July 2021 and paid the 50% deposit. As we approached the date of our Trip, RV Share took the remaining 50% from our credit card and we had a few courteous exchanges with the owner regarding a meeting place and time for pick up. We drove one hour out of town to meet the owner and pick up the rental. As we arrived at the gate of the RV storage facility as directed by the owner we were met by a closed gated. We then received a call from the owner telling us that we could not get the RV because there was a technical issue with it. He said it was smoking and would not start (which is suspicious as how can it smoke if it does not start...)
He told us to go back home and talk to RV Share. We did reach out to the company for alternatives. We were offered two RVs not for that day but for the following day, the RVs were smaller, older and substantially more expensive than the one we had booked originally. After some haggling we got our money back but our vacation was in shambles. Luckily we reach out to regular RV Rental companies and were on our way the next day with an RV from El Monte at a price comparable to what we had with RV Share.
I expected to be able to leave the owner a negative review but after talking to RV Share I was told that because the reservation had been cancelled (by the owner) there was no way we could leave a review. This is their exact reply: "I'm really sorry to tell you that Myriam, however, if the reservation is not completed the renter can't post a review. In order to post a review, the reservation must be completed and the status should be rental completed."
The bottom line is that you have zero protection when you rent through RV Share, even when you have paid 100% of the rental you can be left stranded and the company has no obligation to match the price you have paid and the travel dates you have booked. To make matters worse they protect unscrupulous owners preventing you from leaving feedback even though they know you have been screwed. When we rented from El Monte they had lots of identical RVs on the lot and in the event of a technical issue they would have put us in an alternative vehicle right away. Why on earth would I trust RV Share ever again.
