What is Route 66 Extended Warranty?

Route 66 Extended Warranty offers extra protection for your vehicle in case of a breakdown or mechanical failure. It doesn’t sell directly to consumers, but you can purchase an extended warranty through one of its financial partners. Route 66 Extended Warranty covers you no matter where you drive in the U.S., and there is no deductible on covered parts and/or labor.

Route 66 Extended Warranty plans are also called vehicle service contracts. Each plan offers varying coverage and comes with 24/7 emergency roadside assistance. Total loss refund is available, which means if your vehicle is declared a total loss, Route 66 Extended Warranty will refund the entire original service agreement premium. Route 66 Extended Warranty is based in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Route 66 Extended Warranty cost

Most Route 66 Extended Warranty plans cost $1,250 or less, even for maximum coverage. However, pricing can vary based on your vehicle’s age, mileage and the level of coverage you choose.

Unlike many extended warranty providers, Route 66 does not sell plans directly to consumers. Instead, you must purchase a plan through a participating financial institution, such as a bank or credit union. This means you typically can’t get a quote or buy coverage online. Instead, you’ll need to work with a partner institution to review options and complete the purchase.

Plans are fully insured and positioned as a straightforward, no-deductible option. In many cases, the cost can be rolled into your auto loan or financed through the partner institution, which may make it easier to budget upfront.

Route 66 also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. If your vehicle is totaled and deemed a complete loss, Route 66 Extended Warranty will refund the full plan premium if you’ve purchased that coverage.

My claim adviser gave me the info on how to go about the process. After that the garage & Route 66 took care of everything. Definitely a good experience.

2018 Q50r400.. The first and only time (so far) I had to use 66 warranty was when my AC went out.. Took it to Infiniti Dealer and they pretty much took care of the paperwork process with 66.. I did have to pay "out of pocket" for the diagnostics of the problem is why I gave 4 stars and not 5..

I purchased the Route 66 (MAINSTREET) extended warranty through my credit union that also financed my 2020 Palisade Limited. I took my vehicle for a routine oil change and my shop advised me of oil leaking from oil filter housing and gasket, as well as the passenger side axle and boot. I called and verified my coverage and they said they would over the items (no deductible), and my shop called for the claim. Long story short, they covered about $800 of the $1,000 of the total bill. (Never knew gaskets would be covered.) They paid their portion of the bill the same day the claim was initiated. I can't say anything negative as of now about my warranty through Route 66 and my experience thus far.

Worst extended warranty you could ever get. They won't cover anything and they will lie about everything. You will get scammed 100%.

Purchased an extended warrant through my credit union. Had a major electronic component go out in my 2018 Chevy Volt. Was not covered. If a warranty does not cover major electric components in an electric vehicle, not worth having. Never will I purchase a warranty through them again.

I have purchased 2 warranties through Route 66. Here is what I have found:

      - They say “no deductible” but will deny service until you agree to pay for the “tear down” out of pocket.
      - They say coverage begins on day 1 but then deny services stating “the policy length is too short”.
      - They claim to cover engine parts but will deny services claiming that the issues “likely” began prior to the service date of the contract.

      - They don’t need to prove anything as they will tell you “we reserve the right to deny any claim we see fit”.

It doesn’t matter if the expert mechanics tell them the issue likely just started, they will deny the claim. Their customer service is absolute dog shit. Don’t bother. It’s an expensive mistake to make.

Of course they find all the loopholes to not cover. It’s basically theft. I checked all the boxes and was told I need receipts for everything bought for the life of the car. The bank sold me the extended warranty. STAY AWAY!! Do not let the credit union sell you this warranty.

Yes, they fixed some of my warranty issues but when it came to fixing other issues. They want to tell me that they will not cover it because the repair cost has excited the value of the SUV. Don't get warranty on a new car first of all because it's a waste, nothing will go wrong with your car until warranty is voided. Second if you buy a used car make sure the dealer fixes all issues unless they sell as is. Our find our how to fix it yourself.

I have a 2019 Honda Pilot with 81K miles. The high-pressure fuel pump is making a great deal of noise. They will not cover it because it has not failed. The noise is so loud you can hear it over the radio and it get louder upon acceleration. I submit that the noise itself is a failure. It also has a rough start, but because it has not totally failed, they will not cover the repair. I am very upset about this. I have worked in the automotive field for 15 years and I was an ASE certified mechanic, before becoming a police officer for the last 25 years. A properly functioning high pressure fuel pump would not be making this noise and would have a smooth start. Very dissatisfied and unhappy! Please do not waste your money on extended warranty plans from Route 66.

      Respectfully,

So after my vehicle ran out of the dealership extended warranty I decided to go through my local credit union and get another extended warranty. I had no problems with my vehicle and my vehicle only had 116,000 mi on And it's 10 years old. I purchased the warranty for $3,000. In September took my car in for repairs and a tune-up in December. Everything checked out good though I did notice after the tune-up I had a ticking noise. Last oil change was in November. Didn't save the receipt because we're pretty regular on changing oil. Took the vehicle in to have it assessed in January. Ticking noise says that I have a stuck lifter, The camshaft is delaminated and I have a flat spot. Took vehicle back in to have other repairs done and assess the warranty but I had purchased 6 months ago. Can no longer cancel the warranty.

Expense on vehicle over $6,000 and completely denied because I can't come up with a receipt for an oil change. Vehicle only worth 6800 according to whoever and whatever. Really had a bad day spent $40,000 on a brand new vehicle that I didn't plan to buy at the moment. If I could have canceled this warranty. Like most warranties you can cancel anytime. I sure as hell would have and I sure won't suggest them because the nasty message that I got back after just asking them to send an inspector out to look at my vehicle even though the dealership tested my oil and it was clean. So honestly I think they scam the banking institutions. Because calling my bank and letting them know they were rather shocked. So if you purchase this warranty and I'm going to say on my end I only had 60 days to cancel it. Hmmmm makes you wonder. I will add that the vehicle that I own is notorious for doing this.
