About Everything Breaks Auto Warranties

Everything Breaks sells auto, home and electronics warranties. Everything Breaks auto warranties offer multiple levels of coverage that can help you pay for repairs when your car breaks down, and they have several atypical features that separate them from other vehicle service contracts.

Pros
  • Transparent pricing makes for easy comparisons
  • Provides maintenance benefits on long-term plans
  • Has an unconventional, low-cost option
Cons
  • Long-term plans don’t have lower monthly rates
  • Critical Coverage limits not based on your car's value
  • It's unclear if all plans are available nationwide

Our editor’s take

Everything Breaks has several interesting features, and its transparent pricing makes it convenient to compare the cost of an Everything Breaks plan to the competition.

However, at the time of publishing, we don’t have enough consumer reviews to judge how it operates. If its reviews turn out positive, Everything Breaks might be worth considering as you shop for an extended auto warranty.

How does Everything Breaks work?

To be eligible for an Everything Breaks extended vehicle warranty, your car has to be less than 20 years old and have less than:

  • 240,000 miles for Standard Powertrain and Enhanced Powertrain plans
  • 165,000 miles for Deluxe and Topline plans

All of the company’s auto warranties also have a 30-day and 1,000-mile waiting period that you must complete before you can submit a claim. After your waiting period has passed, you can bring your car to any ASE-certified mechanic or dealer when you have a covered failure.

Once your mechanic diagnoses the issue and estimates the repair costs, the shop has to call Everything Breaks’ claims department to get authorization before starting any repairs. (If it’s an emergency repair, then you have to call the company the next day so it can determine if you’re eligible for reimbursement.)

If your repair is approved, Everything Breaks pays the shop directly, and you’ll only owe the deductible listed on page one of your contract. (In the company’s sample contract, the deductible is $100.)

You can cancel your plan anytime by calling the company or visiting your online customer portal.

Everything Breaks plans

Everything Breaks offers five levels of extended auto warranty coverage:

  1. Critical Coverage
  2. Standard Powertrain
  3. Enhanced Powertrain
  4. Deluxe
  5. Topline

Unlike most extended car warranties, the unconventional Critical Coverage plan is more like an enhanced roadside assistance membership that adds guaranteed 50% coverage for mechanical repair costs. (Critical Coverage repairs are limited to $500 per occurrence, up to a maximum of $2,000 in a 12-month period.)

Meanwhile, the company’s other protection plans cover the full cost of repairing certain parts across your car’s components groups, including its:

  • Engine
  • Transmission
  • Drive axle
  • Air conditioning and heating
  • Suspension
  • Steering
  • Cooling
  • Fuel system
  • Transfer case
  • Brakes
  • Electrical system
  • Seals and gaskets
  • Hybrid system

Your exact coverage will vary based on the plan you choose. Here’s how many components each of the company’s conventional extended warranty plans cover.

All of Everything Breaks’ plans also come with 24/7 roadside assistance, which includes:

  • Towing assistance
  • Fuel, oil and fluid deliveries
  • Flat tire assistance
  • Winching assistance
  • Lockout assistance
  • Battery jump-starts
  • A $1,000 theft reward
  • Emergency money
  • Exclusive deals
  • Expert assistance

All plans except Critical Coverage provide additional benefits, like rideshares to get to your destination if your car breaks down mid-trip and rental car reimbursements ($30 per day for up to five days) if you need a rental while your car is in the shop. Non-Critical Coverage plans are also transferable, meaning they follow the vehicle if you sell it to someone else.

Finally, maintenance benefits are included with all one- and three-year plans. In most cases, these benefits are reimbursements for keeping up with your vehicle’s recommended service schedule, like a $40 reimbursement on each regular oil change. You’ll get benefits for:

  • Three oil changes
  • Brake pad replacements
  • One battery replacement
  • One cooling system maintenance
  • One hand-held computer engine diagnostic and alignment check
  • One safety inspection and wiper blade replacement

Maintenance benefits start 60 days after your plan begins and end 14 months from your purchase date.

Everything Breaks prices

Unlike most extended auto warranty companies, Everything Breaks offers transparent, upfront pricing for its plans.

It’s worth noting that the company’s long-term contracts aren’t any cheaper than its monthly plans, but you do get maintenance benefits included when you sign up for a one- or three-year contract.

The claims process is ridiculous for a company of the size. I took my Jeep in at 4:30 for a brake or caliper issue. The next day I get a call at 10:00 a.m. for some follow-up questions. The customer service agent told me to be up to 24 hours for the adjusters to contact Midas with their decision. Meanwhile no car. I'm stuck 200 miles away from home. They only pay $75 of insurance to cover any cost assuming they'll accept it. This extreme delay is unacceptable. From all the other reviews that I read this is a systematic problem with this company. If if this is the way it is I'm assuming that they're making it so difficult for people to file claims they just don't.

My elderly mother purchased a vehicle service policy from a company called Everything Breaks. She paid her monthly premiums as required. When her vehicle needed repairs, the company denied coverage because she did not have an oil change done by a “licensed maintenance facility” during the eight months she owned the vehicle.

This requirement was never made clear at the time of purchase. Most people perform oil changes themselves or use small local shops that are not “licensed facilities.” The company’s refusal to cover repairs seems like an unfair and deceptive practice — taking money for a policy but then using unreasonable technicalities to deny legitimate claims.

I wish I trusted my gut feeling. I had work done after being a customer for over 6 months. Of course they completed 1 job without asking for anything. However, when it was time for some real work to be done, (transmission) they gave me the run around. I called numerous times to cancel, and I can't get through. "NO TIME OF THE DAY". I know they know it's me. BBB... That's all I have to say,

Just another scam! I've been informed that my maintenance I've done must be proven! 3 years and 3700$ later I. I do my own maintenance and was supposed to keep the receipts of said maintenance. I WAS NEVER INFORMED. Just another giant making money off the public.

They refuse to cancel my policy when I try to cancel over phone. Try to charge me 75 fee even though I am month to month now because I had contract so long. The rep was so terrible and rude. I had to get nasty right back, they charged my CC even though I said NO. I will reach out to bank and BBB next. They suck and are a sham.

I had work done. Did not buy the 100 deductible because I was lied to about contract and they are telling me that the mechanic shop is charging too much or they have an unexperienced mechanic working in my vehicle so they can over charge.

They have terrible reviews for a reason. I wish I would have looked before we accepted this warranty at our repair facility. Still waiting to be paid 7 months later. If you own or run a repair facility stay far, far away from these terrible people!

I only wish I could give them zero stars. They take 119.88 auto deduction every month. I had canceled 2/13/25 and they didn't call back. They stole my money last month and again this month. Good luck.

As a service advisor at a GM dealer, I would not recommend Everything Breaks for a vehicle service contract company. I’m currently trying to get a claim adjusted that I filed over a month ago and call everyday with no response or call backs, not one time.

Strongly Not Recommended – Poor Claims Process. As an automotive repair facility, we have had a frustrating experience with this auto repair warranty company. We attempted to submit a claim on behalf of our customer multiple times, but after waiting on hold for over 40 minutes, no one answered. This has happened on several occasions over the past few days.

Additionally, the claim adjusters are unresponsive, making the entire process difficult and time-consuming. A reliable warranty company should provide timely support and communication, but unfortunately, that has not been our experience. We do not recommend this warranty provider for anyone who expects smooth and professional claim handling.
