I want to Thank James Customer experience department with Endurance for reaching out to me and in helping with our issue. This is a big help in helping us with our problem. Once again thank you.

    Original Review: Feb. 20, 2020

Updated on 02/27/2020: I wrote a review about this company already but this is my follow up. My engine has failed and been in the garage 3 weeks torn apart due to Endurance inspector had to look at the engine and take pictures. So this goes to an adjuster in the office of Endurance. The inspector wrote that the engine failed and therefore it needs replace. The adjuster says no it a lifted problem. Nothing else. My cams are scarred and if new lifters go in this will not work. We have talk and talked to these people explaining how an engine works. They tell you the same talk over and over again. They literally will have your B/P up and the amount of stress they endure on a person.

My lifters and Cams were replaced around 70000 miles. Art at endurance said I should have heard a ticking going on and I caused the damage by driving with the lifter new ones at that ticking and I caused the engine to fail. I have never heard of such stuff as right in the warranty book tells you they cover the engine. Plus all internal part in an engine. So needless to say They don’t do right by customers when you buy from them to needing repairs. A shame what places will do to get your money but when it’s paid off nothing is wrong then when you think okay I’ll be covered it’s not.

Art argues and argues with my husband who has health issues. He had to take medicine to get out of the house for a bit. Served 20 plus years in the military and is on SSD same as I health reasons. If this won’t aggravate your neuropathy and Fibromyalgia nothing else will. Anyway long store short my husband took out retirement from 401 which I would but I am not 59 1/2 yet. My engine will be ordered today and fixed by next week. Endurance will not send me a check. Has to go to a certified place which that’s where she is. I have not used their rent a car because it good for 5 days so you would be paying out of pocket. Thank you once again for reading this, I will never buy a warranty from endurance again.

Original Review: My engine has gone out in my truck and this company will not pay for an engine. Tell me in my owner's book any internal failure will be covered. My cams have shaving and therefore the whole engine isn’t workable. They only want to replace my lifters which will not work as the engine is shoot. There was an inspector from the company. Went to look at the engine. Took pictures and said it need a new engine. If I call I get the run around over and over and I can never talk to the same person who will tell me to call back if I have any questions and ask for them. Well that doesn’t work so my service technician has called and called and they will not reply back to him either. I am under so much stress and anxiety over this that I have no clue what to do. My truck started shaking and I was .6 mile of away from home and I pulled in the driveway and it was parked. Had it towed into a dealership and that where it’s been for two week.

Endurance said I caused the problem by not stopping and I drove it .6 tenths of a mile. I damage the engine. I did not ruin my engine by that little amount of mile. Please can anyone help me with this as it’s causing so much hardship on me and my husband. I live on SS so I don’t have thousands and thousands of dollars to fix my truck which is a 2007. If I did I would buy me a new vehicle but I don’t. I am in tears over this on a daily basis. Thank you for reading this and hope you can make sense of what I wrote.

On 1/29/20 I purchased a 5-year warranty for $67.71 a month - I have very low mileage on my car - under 50,000 miles. On Monday of this week, I got a letter stating 'there will be a Price Increase to our Extended Vehicle Service Plans (EVSP) effective 2/27/20. I called the number that was given to me in the letter 'to hold the lowest program rates' - customer service was unacceptable. I was put on hold twice for more than a half hour each time. I told them I wanted a refund for the $148.00 you requested to start the coverage. If this is how your company is starting, i.e., higher rates after only signing 3 weeks ago, I definitely do not want to deal with your company and want a refund.

This warranty was "sold" to me as an extended warranty that would be the same as the manufacturer's new car warranty and would cover everything that the manufacturer's new car warranty would cover. When I filed my claim, I was under the impression that all I would be out of pocket was the deductible of $100, however, that was not the case. I will be out of pocket over $600 when it is all said and done because Endurance will not cover all of the labor cost. In addition to that, they took over three days to approve the claim because they were "investigating" the legitimacy of the claim. We still have not had our vehicle repaired as I have changed shops to get a lower quote. Endurance was notified two days ago, however they still have not approved the claim and my car is still not repaired. I will never deal with these people again and would highly recommend to anyone not to purchase a warranty from Endurance.

If I go by what people told me, Endurance is the big game in town if you were looking for something that was bumper to bumper type of coverage. I did that and the rep was pleasant and informative. She answered all my questions unlike the last company that I dealt with that I had to cancel my policy within 30 days. She didn't lie to me, which was good too. She did a great job with just her spoken voice and inflection. Her ability to answer questions well is topnotch. I appreciate that.

I never received my package in the mail, but I got it online to print off all the stuff. The signup process was very convenient. The rep was very detailed about what I would be getting. I was still unsure about some things, but it was very, very simple. He laid everything out, told me what to expect, the date and how long it might take to use it. They were really good at getting the price down for me because my biggest concern was the price. The price kinda shocked me, so I was very happy about that. He did everything in his power to try to get me a discount.

ConsumerAffairs has been around for a long time. We can trust them, and I trust what they say. The Endurance rep was very polite, and with the funds that we had, worked with us for us to acquire the policy. They said that they used quality parts. I read in the packet that they said they weren’t gonna use secondhand or lower-quality parts. But now all of a sudden, when I got the paperwork, they said they could be substituted. I really wanna know why because I wouldn't have bought the policy if they accepted lower quality parts.

I’m not going from a NAPA part, which has a name brand part, to an inferior, cheaper part. And along with that comes a wheel bearing which would go in a year, and a NAPA part is guaranteed for three years versus that. What are you gonna be doing? Every time I take my vehicle in, it’s gonna cost me $500 every time. So, I’m not happy about that. If you want your policies to be bought, follow through on what you originally say, because that really got me aggravated.

The major one I was really looking for was the drivetrain, electrical, and engine coverage. So in a way, they offered that to me. At the time that I got the Endurance insurance, my car's alternator went about three weeks later. I needed the money to get her up and going, and I'm like trying to pull money from here and there. I lost my job. I'm trying to do right and get it right. But it's like every time I'll take two steps forward, they will slide me back five steps back. I had to cancel my warranty out. It was within the same month.

I was going through my mail and I saw that in the beginning part of April, Endurance sent me information because I was inquiring about it way back then. If I would've gotten Endurance last year, I'd be fine today with my fault. I had a 1997 Dodge Intrepid somewhere around 2003. When it would break down, I would always be paying out of pocket. One time, I saw a commercial for fixing a vehicle. Sometimes, when you see stuff on the commercial, all of a sudden, it'll show up, and then it won't show up anymore. And every time something would show up about a car warranty, I would always miss it. I needed it even back then in the middle part of 2000's. I was like, "The next time I see it and I have a car, I'm gonna look into it." And that's when I saw Endurance. Their reps were very knowledgeable. They did their best and they gave me the best payment plan I could possibly think of.

I've been telling everybody that they need to get a warranty for their car, and I'm trying to tell them about Endurance and what it offers. A lot of people are like, "But I have insurance." You have insurance for the outer body. This is under your hood insurance. So in case something goes wrong under the hood, depending on what policy you get, if it's your engine, your electrical, your alternator, your battery, they will cover that. You'll just pay it like you do your regular insurance. The difference is they will work with you. I have a friend who just got her a new car, a 2020. I'm so happy for her, and I'm trying to convince her to do Endurance. Once my car gets fixed, I'm calling back. I was very satisfied with Endurance.

I even looked up Endurance after the fact that I already had bought it, and they gave it a A1 rating. The rep was very professional. He told me everything about it, and that was about it. Their person I first spoke with was cool. She really kept me informed and was very flexible as far as my down payment ‘cause that was my main struggle. But she let me know all my options and made me feel that there was just more to get from Endurance than just a warranty. But I was misinformed about my deposit as far as what was gonna be charged.

I was told that the rep was gonna take out $100 deposit and then take the remaining or 214, and then, there’s like the remaining of the 400. When I called them to change my card that I wanted to use the deposit on, they were saying that my card was gonna be charged 374. They got me set up with my whole account and they were telling me that it was gonna be 214 and then I heard 375. So, I was just a little confused. Other than that, everything was pretty straightforward. When I got my little warranty card, it came with all the information as to what was included in my plan. It was very organized and it was really broken down wherein anybody could really understand. So it won't be as hard for me if anything will happen.

With the type of car I bought, I wanted to make sure I had extended coverage for it. When I Googled "best extended warranty companies," ConsumerAffairs popped up as a third-party engine that made recommendations. I instantly went up there and found a lot of companies there. The first time I gave it my information, it gave me Endurance. The next time I put in the same information, with the same car, it gave me CARCHEX. The next time I did it for the same car, it gave me somebody else.

I also recently put my name in a database looking for something else. There was something and all of a sudden, calls, email and texts. They shot it out to a hundred people. It was down to Endurance and Carchex. CARCHEX was running the commercials and I almost went with them, but I saw that Endurance was its own administrator, which was what tipped it for me. I still ended up with an Endurance that was serviced through somebody else. I don’t make a dollar decision very quickly and at that point, I was tired of shopping.

I talked to a couple of reps and it took me over three weeks to finally make a decision. There was a lot of cold calling back by Endurance and some of the others. I also was given the name of a guy who had given me a quote and was gonna give me a certain discount if I buy at the end of the year. Some of that was a bit pressuring. Then when I asked for a discounted rate, they took the fact that I was a retiree into account and AARP member. They didn’t really offer really much in that regard, but I thought it was okay. The policy cost about five grand so I went ahead and said, “Let me get this off of my to-do list.”

But after I read the contract, I didn’t really like it. I don’t know if I wanna keep that within the 30 days. Their fee is quite high and they have tons of exclusion that I may need. Their contract is kinda very broad and confused. Let’s say the oil in the engine is excessively leaking, they won’t cover until the engine eventually stops working. I don’t think those are good coverage by doing that. Also, by the time a dealer or a shop tries to be authorized, if they feel like they wanna pay, they pay for it and if they don’t wanna pay, they deny it. But Endurance does have some good things. There are solid protections on the engine and transmission and their coverage in there. They are supposed to be the way they are.

So I called and got the additional warranty from Endurance. Their rep answered a couple of my questions wrong. I found out later.

I asked him a bunch of scenarios, and one scenario I asked him is if I were to break mechanism of the door handles would it be covered. He said, "Anything mechanical in the car and anything electronics in the car is fully covered." But there's a clear part of the contract that states that is not covered. There are exclusions. And some of the exclusions, I even asked specific questions about. But he was a nice guy, and Endurance has a good coverage. It's gonna cover what I need, except for the part that he said it covers and turns out not, but that's not that big of a deal.

They were very conscious of telling me that the warranty was not starting for 30 days, and the amount of miles that was needed for the car and what was included if the car lost its speed if that was something that was covered on the extra part of the warranty.

I wish I could see clear documents. Their document was hard to read. I understand listening to it, but I wasn’t able to get any documents before signing over to see what the offers were. You couldn’t see anything until you actually gave money, which was a little weird. You'd be able to cancel it, but the whole idea was to get something that was comparable to see. Long story short they keep telling my mechanic that this is not covered!! When I HAVE THE SELECT PREMIER PLAN and it says it is covered unless it is stand alone which is it not. They try to scheme their way out of a claim and it seems like you literally have to say the exact right words in order for them to even come out and look. This is unfair to customers, they need to be investigated and shut down. I am a loyal honest paying customer that has been treated with no respect or dignity, they do not have compassion whatsoever. I purchased a warranty through endurance at the time I purchased my 2006 Jeep. Which I have maintained well and done all maintenance and factory recalls repairs on. I have only had it for 1 year. The engine has failed and they deny my claim. During this month long process to denial, they have never once communicated in writing. Upon enquiry for the information on their end being sent to me, they refuse to send me any information including a written denial letter. All of this sounds very fraudulent to me. Along with the month long wait and countless hours in which they had my mechanic tear down the engine, even further than needed for diagnosis so they could keep searching for a reason of denial in my opinion.

My name is Tim ** and I want to share my story of my first experience with getting service for my vehicle that has a warranty through Endurance. I've had the policy since June and I don't have a high mileage vehicle. It only has 56000 miles. I have all my routine maintenance done on time and through the dealership. I use my vehicle to drive back and forth to work and take my wife who is dying of cancer to her chemo appointments every 2 weeks. On my last oil change they found that the CV boots were torn and the control arms and front axle shaft were damaged and needed to be replace. I told them that is fine and I have a warranty program through Endurance. Provided them the information so they could contact Endurance for the repairs.

When the Service technician called Endurance they insisted I needed to bring the vehicle back to the dealership so they could have their "own" inspector come out and inspect the parts. I've had warranties through other companies and never heard of this. It's like they don't trust Factory trained technicians. I explained that I can't afford to be without my vehicle for 2 days while this "inspector" comes out. The dealership was nice enough to let me have a courtesy vehicle while the inspection was done. The 2 days turned out to be more than a week from the time the "inspector" came out and the time he submitted his report back to Endurance and Endurance told the service department they would not pay for the repairs because "as the parts are cracked" they are not completely broken.

The Service department called them and explained that if you let them wait longer the damage will be more extensive and you are leaving a customer without transportation. Endurance could have cared less. So if you want a company who is going to leave you stranded by the road with a broken down vehicle by all means chose Endurance. I'm now stuck with driving my vehicle with it making sounds when I make turns, waiting for them to give out while I am driving or paying for the repairs myself. I can only hope this breakdown doesn't occur while I am taking my wife to her chemo appointment.

My vehicle was close to be out of the factory warranty, and we had had some trouble with the car. I didn’t wanna have to deal with it, even though we had it resolved before it ran out of warranty. I got nervous if anything ever happened having to have a large bill. I just wanted the peace of mind so I looked into extended warranty. I googled Endurance Auto Warranty and read the general reviews, and I liked what I read. There was one other that I wanted to go over with, but it was impossible to get a hold of them. So, I ended up going with Endurance Auto Warranty.

Their customer service was great. The first person I spoke with was really nice. There was a bit of an element of trying to sell me on the product, but I didn’t feel it was super pushy. I said that I needed to talk to my husband first and they were good about that versus, sometimes, they try to get you and seal the deal right there. They called him also, on my request, and told him the details. And after three phone calls, we decided to go ahead with it. My husband set up the payment plan and I’ve just seen it come out directly. They were supposed to send some gift card for signing up, and they never did. So, I’m gonna follow-up about it at some point. It doesn’t really affect the product, but I didn’t see them follow-through with that, and that would be one area that could be better.

But I wasn’t expecting to pay 150 a month, which was more than I wanted to pay.

Carchex, which came up as second, was the first one that called me and I wound up taking the policy out with them. After doing some more research, I found out that they send their services outside. I also read a lot of the reviews that said that people tried to file a claim and Carchex wouldn’t pay it. I told my husband that there were too many negative reviews about Carchex and that I was gonna cancel it.

When the Endurance guy called me, I had already done the research on them. He was very good at explaining the different policies that they had, what they covered, and the length of time we would be making the payments. My payments were lower with them than with the other one. My down payment was a few dollars more than with Carchex, but I was satisfied with his explanation and the research that I had done. I told him that I didn’t wanna take the policy out with him until I was able to get my money back from the other company. But he was consistent about calling me and checking up.

Don’t buy a extended warranty thinking they will cover your car in case anything happens to it. They’ll will tell you to go read your policy. They paid 1 out of 7 things I need done to fix my car. Wish they would have told me that before I started paying them every month. Not someone I would I want to do business with ever again definitely.

I put my zip code into it and there's not one place that it works on. Whatever that $250 in vouchers that they promote, they should stop promoting that. I called them so they didn't have to sell me on. They didn't even have to mention that. By doing that, they made themselves look not reputable. Updated review: Feb. 19, 2020

My written complaint on the issue received a pretty quick response from a senior member at the company. He handled the case personally from that point on. We were able to resolve all the issues I raised after a couple weeks (where we were slowed in large part by the dealership/repair facility not the warranty company).

    Original Review: Jan. 21, 2020

Denied every single claim on my vehicle (4+ of them) under dubious pretenses. For a couple of the issues Endurance claimed to have found evidence the issues were pre-existing, though I could find no evidence of that. Of the issues Endurance acknowledged as not pre-existing, the company still denied all claims. A certified technician at the dealership recommended multiple repairs to covered items but Endurance refused saying they needed more information before they could approve. Multiple calls were had and more information was provided. Endurance still refused to pay. I requested that Endurance provide in writing what they would need to approve the repair. They refused to do that. We (the dealership and I) requested another adjuster go out so the dealership could highlight the issue in person since Endurance didn't accept the information provided via phone. Endurance refused to provide this as well.

In addition to the issues under dispute above, there was a special issue with the GPS antenna. I paid for the Supreme coverage with the High Tech Coverage option. In the agreement language it states that the "GPS/NAV systems" are covered under the High Tech Option. The GPS antenna has quit working rendering the vehicle NAV system functionally useless. Endurance denied coverage because one of their standard exclusions is "transmitting/transmission receiving devices". They failed to answer each time they were challenged how the antenna didn't fall under the GPS system given it is the heart of the system.

Bottom line this company is not there to help you. From my experience they want your money. They will hold it while you whittle away time and miles against your contract. They will then deny all your claims, and just refund your prorated amount having walked away with a portion of your money without providing any benefits. Oh and as a kicker, I requested a quote based on my current mileage for how much of a refund I would receive. They refused to provide that until I had jumped through all of their hoops to cancel. You can find someone better. After my experience I question the legitimacy of this business. All the reviews seem to speak about how nice they are on the phone (and they are very professional), but you are paying for protection, not pleasant conversation. Run, don't walk, to a different provider.

I had a coverage on before, but then I went over the miles, so it was canceled or I exhausted it. So, I had to get a different one. Endurance is a new company for me. They handled the questions pretty good. It’s a bit pricey than most places that I did questions about, ‘cause I found other places that’s like almost half of what Endurance is charging me, but the customer service of Endurance when I initially started was good and very professional and they got everything down to the T. The only problem is getting a follow-up. They did not follow up if I’m enjoying it so technically, I’m just seen as money, and that’s it. I’m like just the customer that has bought something.

Ever since I got it, I’m trying to call back to find out when does my policy actually kicks in but I haven’t got a response back. I did some Google research and it said it should be after 30 days after buying. Endurance should maybe send out a list of stuff that you’re covered for. I researched auto warranty for my vehicle after my original warranty ran out. Endurance had great ratings and reviews. There have always been two factors: time and mileage. I have a very well kept vehicle with low mileage. I purchased The Endurance Supreme warranty. Yes, I had low mileage and had a 5 year warranty. At the point of sale, IT WAS NOT MENTIONED that there is a third factor for Endurance. This is how much $$ they will shell out for your vehicle. So..if you have low mileage and you are within 5 years...they have a SECRET number of how much they will pay. They don’t inform you if you get close to that calculated number or even send you a written letter informing you...you basically have no contract with them.

They have it written in the contract with terms an accountant would shudder at. It’s not based on the value of your vehicle. It’s based on some calculation they have of an average of year and make then take the lowest number of that average (never is that number anywhere near the value of your vehicle) then a convoluted calculation...in short...even tho I am within mileage and still have a 18 mos on my contract...I was informed after calling customer service while my vehicle was at the dealership for warranty service I HAVE NO WARRANTY! Give me that info before I purchase this warranty, otherwise it’s a SCAM!
