    I asked for some other company, but I got Endurance instead. At first, they said, "Yeah, you can have it for $115." I said, "That's expensive." They offered $74 right away and I thought, "That, I will take." They charged my credit card and then, a few days later, I found out that I needed to change the oil on my car and the part of the deal with Endurance was that they would pay for the change of oil and filter. When I went to my car dealer, I found out suddenly, as I spoke with them, that Endurance would pay, but only if I came back three days later and made a 1,000 mile trip. I said, "There was nothing spoken about that." They said that is their policy, to take it or not. I said, "Okay. You're playing games. Let's see what's going to happen three days later."

    A week later, I came and I lied. I said to the dealer I had a trip to Tucson, Arizona and I needed to have the oil and filter changed. I said, "When you finish your work, try to call Endurance and see if they will pay for that." He said, "Okay, " so I came later on. I don't know if he called them about it or not, but before that I said myself, "They didn't tell me anything about this trip 1,000 miles and so on. I don't think that's a good company." So, I said to them, "I want to cancel the deal." Someone said, "Yes, you can cancel the deal." He sent me an email notice that says I had to go to notary public to fill out the paper about canceling the deal.

    The notary public said, "Well, how do I know all this..." and so on. It was getting to be a headache, so I didn't send Endurance a letter. I couldn't fill out the paper to cancel, so I did nothing and put all this deal to sleep. I continue to live with that problem. I didn't like it. That is only my experience so far and it doesn't taste good. I was very angry and it's not good to do things when you are very angry. When I thought about writing a bad review for Endurance, I slept on it and a few days later, I said, "Thus far, the experience looks good." Still, I was displeased. They didn't tell me about those preconditions. They should have told me and then going to another office guy for cancellation is another thing. That's trouble at this time to need to put all those signatures. That was terrible. They almost deserve a 1.

    I got the first used car I've purchased and without knowing the true history of it, I thought it was a good idea to add that protection. I went through a website. They got a bunch of different quotes. Endurance was the most responsive. They followed up the most. I compared the Endurance one with the dealership quote that I received, and Endurance seemed to be a better deal. The first few folks I spoke with were pretty open in answering questions. I wasn't as thrilled with the last person I spoke with though. He's kinda the closer. He evaded most of my questions. But I read through the contract and was comfortable enough that I wasn't getting ripped off. Everything else seems pretty good.

    Both Endurance reps were good. It was a lady, then there was a guy. The only thing that I had a little problem with was the person who closes the deal. They transfer you over and they should reiterate everything. She was hostile because I couldn’t hear at the time. Cell phone, bad reception, whatever the case may be. She said, “I just said it. I just said what I said.” I said, “Miss, I’m sorry. I just didn’t hear you. So I’m not gonna okay to something that I didn’t hear because you said it once or twice. If I didn’t hear you, I didn’t hear you.” If you’re the closer, you’re supposed to be the nicest one.

    I did a look-up for extended warranties and Endurance came up number one. That's why I called in to check and give it a try. Afterwards, I looked at the reviews and it was a bit alarming. I'm curious at this point how the product is going to work. There are a lot of warranty companies, and there are a lot of reviews that are bad on Endurance. I'm hoping that only the bad ones showed up on the product reviews and Endurance proves that wrong. Other than that, the purchase process was easy. We just went through a quick Q&A, and then Endurance asked some questions. We went back and forth with pricing a bit and decided to move forward. We went for one of the premium plans. And then, it was flexible on the pricing and onboarding.

    My sales representative was fine. But there was a little bit too much emphasis on the $250 shopping stuff. That was not a good deal. You can get better deals by just watching sales or even buying gift cards at Costco or Sam's Club. 10% off is not that big of a deal. That's what most of those $250 shopping spree things are. Endurance should have also indicated that the repairs need pre-authorization because you don't really get that until you start reading the contract and the information.

    Overall, I didn't really have a whole lot of time to compare plans online before the representative called me trying to get me to buy into the warranty. But I appreciated his enthusiasm for me going ahead and signing me up. It was the end of the month and the special was only running until the end of March for the St. Patrick's Day Sale. He was afraid I would miss out on that and he really pushed that. He could have given me a little bit longer time to look at it and even if I missed out, he could have just offered to call me back in a few days. He was like a used car salesman trying to push me into buying it now, now, now. But part of that was because he was trying to save me a little bit of money with the special. the only thing was there was always gonna be another sale.

    For payment, I needed to put a deposit down. I was looking at paying all that upfront but they didn't even really want to talk about that until after the 30-day trial period and then indicated that I could go ahead and pay it all off if I wanted to. As far as financing, I was told this much down and this much per month if I wanted to. They didn't really give me a total dollar amount until I asked for it. Even then, it was just an estimate and not an exact amount.

    I was encouraged to purchase the extended warranty from Endurance by Ray Skillman Automotive. The salesperson stated it was very easy and hassle free if we ever had an issue. It has been anything, but hassle free. Getting in touch with a customer service representative is close to impossible unless you have an hour or two to wait on the line. I have been lied to. I was told that the adjuster's report would be finished the next morning and I would receive a call from the shop by noon the following day. I waited and called back 4 days later. After waiting on hold 1 hour and 50 minutes, the representative told me the report was still not complete. I have been waiting for almost 2 weeks for a word on the claim. I have only owned the vehicle for one month.

    I realize there are some reviews that are glowing, but my experience with Endurance has been extremely frustrating. When I have gotten through, the representatives have tried to be helpful, but are just unable to get anything done. Personally, I would not recommend this extended warranty company. I have others and have never had this much trouble. Worst extended warranty company I have dealt with. That says a lot since the others were not that good either.

    I told Endurance what my needs were and what I wanted covered, and they figured out what I should get. I asked them if they could send me a copy of the information that I was buying and they said that I would get the email. I thought I’d rather look at it before I buy it. I didn't know the difference between a Premier and an Advantage plan. I think I've got the Advantage coverage now but I don't even have a clue what options they had given me because they didn't tell me what my options were.

    But the customer service is well. When the rep didn't have the answer to my questions, he transferred me to his boss. When he couldn't answer, he transferred me to one more person. I'm highly mechanically-inclined so they were pretty in-depth questions like, “Who's gonna resolve a dispute?” “What happens if there's a dispute between what needs to be done and what you guys think needs to be done?” “Who decides whether or not this is necessary?” They passed me along to whoever could answer me.     The experience when signing up with Endurance was pretty good. We had no complaints about that. It was just the service when I needed to extend the vehicle service. I went to put down two claims. The first one, they ended up covering it, but they didn't cover three things. The second one, they didn't cover it at all because they said the part that I needed wasn't covered. I didn't like that at all because they were asking the repair shop for pictures and part numbers. If the rack and pinion are not covered, just say it's not covered. Don't ask the repair shop for pictures and part numbers. It was a waste of time. I had to pay for that out of pocket. It's always good to have a warranty on your vehicle. But when you make a claim, they'll come up with a reason not to cover it.

    It was easy to sign up with Endurance but their warranty wasn’t explanatory enough. I read up on it before I made the call, but the actual person that called me back was more rushed.     Our Ford Escape was getting up there in numbers. We're at 139 right now. It's running okay, but everybody keeps calling me, telling me I need to sign up to get an extended warranty. Finally, I decided to do a little research. I was gonna go with CarShield. Then my wife did a little research and found out that Endurance is so much better. We decided we'd stick with the better one. Their prices were better. But their customer service was also a lot more knowledgeable than the Shield people were. We also like how much it's going to cost us per month. My wife felt better dealing with their company than with Shield. Endurance was pretty nice to us. They were a lot better than the Shield people were. They were a lot more knowledgeable.     The Endurance Auto Warranty has a bumper-to-bumper, that's why I've picked them. The rep I worked with said a whole bunch of other stuff but she didn’t ever say the deductible. It was only $100 but she never once said it. Then the second guy talked about that discount on food and hotels and it would be cool just to claim that. On the warranty, I read that they have the Prime, Plus, and the Preferred. At the very top page, it says that I'm a Preferred Advantage, and then it goes into what's covered. It says Premier first, and then it says Plus, and then a little teeny three-sentence paragraph that says Preferred Advantage, which I have. Even though it doesn't say at all in the Premier, it just says all parts covered. I called two representatives and they confirmed that it covers everything. Now, I'm a little bit worried. I hope that there's no fighting when there’s actually a claim to be made.

And if I wanted to be contacted by them, select the button, and I did. However, we had a very bad connection and I had to repeat myself several times. Also, the gentleman I was speaking to's English wasn't very good. And then, on the verification side where I got passed to the supervisor, and I was giving him the card number and all this other stuff, I don't know where he went.     I'm about to call Endurance at some point to cancel the service. There are a couple of things on our policy that I did not like or at least a couple of things that did not get taken care of when I had brought my car in, so I was like, there's no point in paying money every month and not everything is getting done. The level of professionalism was up there when they were trying to sell me a contract. But when I was trying to get in contact with them or at least find out some about my policy, or at least get in contact with somebody if my car's in the shop, that was a different story. I was on hold for about an hour trying to get somebody on the phone and still have not gotten anyone on the phone while my car was in the shop.

    I was trying to figure out what was it that they don't cover exactly, what was it that they cover for the brakes, what was it that needs to get done on my brakes, because my brakes needed replacing or repairing, but the brake fluid or even the rear adjust brakes, like to adjust the rear brakes, they said they only go up to $140 at that. But none of that stuff got done at the shop regardless of that. They called in about that, but Endurance said, "No. We don't cover that." Then some other things happened, like for the serpentine belt that's connected to the alternator and that got messed up and needed replacing. That was also a maintenance thing regardless, but I needed to replace them because some fluid got leaked on it. I had to pay that out of my pocket. The only thing that they replaced was the water pump. I had to pay a lot of money out of my pocket so I'm not going to do that again.

    I purchased Endurance Warranty for my 2011 Ford F-150 which had around 130,000 miles. I had the rear end go out, took it to a Ford Dealership for repairs. They tore down the rear end, contacted Endurance for the repairs. It took several days for Endurance to respond, sending a adjuster to the dealership which took three days. The dealership waited for three days with no response from Endurance. My truck had been there now six days and I had to have it back in the road, so I told them to fix the truck and I would pay. It is now 11 days and Endurance has not made any effort to contact the dealer. I called them today to request they pay me back the charges and they refused. Said the repairs had not been authorized yet so I had violated the agreement by paying to have it repaired. It is my opinion that the Warranty is a pure scam. They owe me $1538.44.

    The initial interaction with the sales representative was awesome. Originally, I had asked them a full list of items. I went through it with the sales representative and I clearly asked if certain items were covered. His response was, "Yes, those are items that are covered." Then he explained to me how the seals and gaskets piece of it won't be covered, which I was like, "Okay, great. Sign me up for it." I was told that 100% of the axle will be covered, but what I'm coming out to find is that it's not. Components like the rear axle pump, which is one of the things that I specifically inquired about, are not covered.

    I started getting indicator lights on for the rear axle. So I got my vehicle in the White-Allen Chevrolet this week and they said I needed a rear axle pump. They submitted it over to Endurance, but Endurance came back saying they don't cover the pump. But that was one of the things I inquired about. It kind of has a salty taste in my mouth right now. I'm still waiting to hear back 100% of what's all going to be covered on the vehicle.

    Another issue that I'm having with Endurance is that I can't seem to get no one on the phone. I find myself waiting on hold for about an hour and a half to two hours out of a day, and that's a long amount of time. The person went out to the shop to look at all the work needing to be done on Monday. I find out yesterday that it got assigned to an adjuster and I was like something has to give because this is a long process just to get repairs approved. Plus, I'm trying to get back on the road so I can get back to work in the office, and this is stopping me and it's about to possibly hinder my cash flow. I'm trying to make sure the repairs are covered in an adequate time frame, and so far, it's not. The vehicle went into the shop last week on Thursday. On Friday, everything was submitted over to Endurance and then they sent the adjuster out on Monday. It's now Thursday and the dealership still doesn't have a definite on what's gonna happen.

    I just purchased a new used car and I wanna make sure that things were covered on a vehicle with such low mileage. Everybody else was pretty much just offering the power train. With my car, it's more than just a power train that I would have to be concerned with. There were the electrical as well as the mechanical aspects of it. Going on the internet, Endurance had some great ratings. And speaking with their reps, I became more convinced of the rating being accurate. Overall, the purchasing experience was good but it was somewhat confusing on the facts.

    I was bounced around from person to person and to an extent, it was effective but it gave that assembly-line approach. “Okay, you go finish this page with this person. You go to the next page with the next.” That was all well and good but if there was inconsistency with one then it carries over to the other. One person may give me a price quote here that may differ from the next person. But there was the ability to cancel and get a refund if one is not pleased with the agreement. I was quoted a price of 293. I only pay 150 down then pay 143 later. That was fine. But when I got the agreement, it said 273. Another things was when I looked on the initial offer online, it said something about $300 off. Nobody made any mention about how that would be applied.

    I was looking for a quote for bumper-to-bumper coverage. The cheapest one I got was for 10 years at Chevrolet where I bought the car. They wanted the full amount upfront. To be 10 years with Chevrolet and with that amount of money would save me a lot of money by paying upfront for 10 years. But I didn't push through with it and I called around to see what I could get. I like Endurance because I could make payments. They also told me that if I stay with for three years, I get the two years for free. That was a deal to me. I budget my money and I like the payment to be that. It was excellent service.

    Customer service was great. I was in underwriting years ago and I knew what I wanted. I asked questions. The rep told me precisely about the coverage and the fees. She even extended the offer. She was very persistent saying she could do this and that. There was an extra 200 extra dollars to come up with that day but she waived that. Everything really impressed me.

    I initially wanted to do my truck because when you buy a new or used car without an extended warranty, there's always going to be something that will break down somewhere. I've been shopping for a warranty for the longest time and there were a lot of people calling me because they knew my warranty has expired with my leased car.     CarShield offered me a small package with coverages to the engine transmission, cooling, and drive axle. It was a little bit electrical for the windows but I have a lot more electrical stuff than that. I ended up doing some research and came across Endurance. I gave them a call. They offer and cover more. Customer service was pretty good. The details were to the point and they searched the best package for me. I made a choice from there.

    Making the payments was was a little bit difficult because the downpayment Endurance wanted was a little steep for me at that point in time. I still owe them some money now because I didn't have enough to cover the downpayment for the package I was getting. Other than that, it was an exciting experience. When you get to save money, the main issue is just saving money. It seems like Endurance is not out to rob your pockets.     I had an exhaust that needed to be fixed. But until the warranty kicked in, I had to purchase a new transmission, a tune-up and an oil change. Then, when I got my car back for a new transmission, it started having more problems. I took it in on the 10th. I called Endurance. The month only had 28 days in it, so it wasn’t the 10th to 10th. It was like 10th to 12th and they said they wouldn’t cover it. Because it was a short month in February, it was technically a month, but it wasn't actually 30 days.

    I was counting on them telling me the date. I didn’t want to wait to bring it in when it needed service, so I could get to work. They should have had that written down on my account, like when that started, instead of just prorating the next month. It was really unhelpful for them to do that. That caused a lot of pain, and dishing out $3,000 and I’m not rich. That was for the transmission and then, we had an engine problem when we took it to one of their qualified shops and they wouldn’t cover it.

    It was just a bad experience, even with that shop. They just didn’t seem truthful. My dad was trying to tell me to go to a different shop now. We even towed it to a new shop ’cause we weren’t satisfied with one of their AC accredited shops either. Endurance told us that we couldn’t get a refund and that was it. They made us get a document notarized explaining why we wanted out. That didn't look too good, but, we just were done with the whole thing. I was really dissatisfied.

    Endurance’s prices were very good. Even when it was compared to the auto warranty that the dealership gave, Endurance's was a little bit better and they had longer miles. Customer service asked a lot of questions but they didn't do this as thoroughly as I wanted them to as far as going into more details about the process of using the warranty and focusing on some of the stuff that the warranty doesn't cover or that you can't do.     I've gotten warranties before and in terms of calling up and making the down payment, it was pretty simple with Endurance. Typically, you can't get a warranty over a vehicle at 150,000, and both vehicles are at past 150. The fact that Endurance was able to cover the vehicle and that they were able to do more than just the engine and trains was a great thing. The rep was knowledgeable even to the point where he told me I could check a sample coverage on the website which was good. I was able to see what they deemed as electrical. Electrical is really broad but with the warranty, we should have everything. If it wasn't for ConsumerAffairs, I wouldn't have even considered. With so many scams going on, I'm very wary. But the fact that they recommended Endurance is one of the reasons why I took the call. So far, everything is good. Getting the policy in is the only thing I'm waiting on now.

    I got sent a notice and was receiving a lot of phone calls about my warranty being up. So, I went online to hear other people's opinions of the different companies and their rating. I signed up with Endurance and it went very well. The only thing is I don't have anything to print out my card or the initial contract. So, all I've been able to do is go back to that email and research it. As far as the application process, they do a really good job with it. They explain it.     Instead of paying a six-year loan on my vehicle and incorporating the warranty that way into the loan, I wanted to be paying six years on the loan for a three-year warranty. I went to Endurance because I can pay three years for a six-year warranty. The price was where we wanted for what we were getting. The only thing that was strange was it seemed that I got shuffled. I spoke to somebody Thursday or Friday and I told him I needed to talk my wife. I couldn't call him back directly but I got calls from other people and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to go ahead with the other people. Finally, I spoke to a lady.     My wife had an air conditioning issue with her car and it cost like $6,000 to fix it. That really drained our savings and caused other hardships. My brother-in-law who owns a mechanic shop said, “Well, why don’t you get one of those extended warranty on your cars and you won’t have to worry about that?” After doing my reviews, it seemed like Endurance was the better company. I submitted two claims to them and both of them have been denied. My water pump quit working because a seal blew out. The water pump is bad but they’re saying because it’s a seal on the water pump, which is internal to it, it’s not covered.

    The guy that set me up on the plan made it sound like, “Okay, this is covered, this is covered, this is covered.” Never once did he ask about seals and all that other good stuff. We even paid extra for electrical coverage. You would think that a seal thing would be brought up before, “If my stereo gets stolen or broken down, cover that.” You would think that would be a higher part, and it was never discussed. The guy didn't tell the complete truth about everything.

    I definitely would not recommend them. I've been denied twice for two different reasons. Neither makes sense to me at all. I found out if a fuel injector goes bad on my truck, it is not covered, even though it’s inside the manifold on my diesel pickup. That’s a major thing that goes wrong with diesel, and it’s pretty common after about 200,000 miles. So, the service is not covering anything that I need. This week alone, it cost me about $2,000 for a declined thing. Then, last week, when the water pump went, that cost me $3,000. So, there’s $5,000 right there that, supposedly, a vehicle warranty should have helped me with, and it didn’t. I'm about to cancel my business with them.

    I had to go through a bunch of changes to get my car fixed. It was pure hell. I got the car into a repair shop. It took them three hours to get through to Endurance. The guy at the shop put the phone on hold, and then I could hear it beeping, the music was going over and over again, until somebody picked it up. I was there from 8 o’clock in the morning until 1 o’clock, before he was able to get through to them to authorize it or get the car in the shop. It was a really horrendous thing.

    I got home and he called me and said I needed to get something else for them. So I had to call them back. It took 50 minutes to get somebody to answer the phone and they put me on hold. I got that paperwork for them and they got it back to him. The first day was a delay all day long. They wanted to verify that I had the 30 days in. The next morning, the guy couldn’t start on my car ‘cause he needed verbal approval from them and it took them five hours before he could get started on my car. The people never apologized for the delays. I was dissatisfied with Endurance, completely.

    I was impressed with what Endurance covered. I bought the policy before I bought the car. I had to wait for 30 days and to go over 1,000 miles for the policy to take effect. We went up to South Carolina and came back again, rode around well over 1000 miles. Wheel bearing went bad. I wanted to have the oil change, just to have it changed. The mechanic called to get coverage. The first thing they said was, “The wheel bearing isn't covered and we'll cover the next oil change.” So after waiting, five telephone calls, and over three hours of wait time to get to talk to somebody, I finally found out that there's a problem with the mileage that's been recorded. They checked CARFAX. They said what the mileage was on CarFax and it didn't coincide with what I told them. So consequently, they denied all coverage.

    Now I have to provide documentation when I bought the car, any repairs I've had done in between time that shows the mileage and the date. They have to factor all that before they'll cover anything. In the meantime, my truck was up on the lift at the mechanic with the wheel off, waiting for a bearing. I told the mechanic to go ahead and fix it. No matter what, it had to be fixed. They can't hold this lift up forever. So when I talked to the guy last night that I told the mechanic to go ahead and fix it, he said, “Well, we won't cover anything, man, if you already told them to fix it.” I’m not happy with that. So right now, I'm not real enthralled with Endurance and quite frankly thinking about looking for another company.

    A portion of it is my fault because I did not remember what the actual mile it was and I tried to get the coverage before I bought this truck. But Endurance is not being helpful or understanding and trying to straighten it out. Also, the customer service sucks if I have to wait an hour and a half to two hours to talk to somebody on hold.

    Endurance will not cover any of my work that’s been done on my car. Everything we called in on, they wouldn't cover anything. I have spent $800 in getting a diagnostic out of my pocket and my car’s still sitting in the shop for two weeks because Endurance is not doing anything on my car. It’s really making me mad. I said, “You cover them all?” They said, “Yes.” There’s something wrong with my motor on the intake. They won't cover that. My turbo sensor’s going out. They won't cover that. My window went out and I need a regulated and I've seen it in my book that they do cover that but they're not covering that. My transmission is messing up. They’re not covering that. So I took it to the Volvo dealer for nothing. Now they're forcing me to come and get the car.

    When I took Endurance, I asked the agent, “Can I take the car to the dealer.” They said, “You gotta wait 30 days or 1000 miles.” I did both. Then they said, “You can take your car to the shop, to any ASE-certified and get it done.” The reason why I couldn't take it to another ASE-certified was that I couldn't get a rental car. I got a rental car from the dealer that I had to pay out of my pocket also because Endurance wouldn't cover me with a rental car for the two weeks I have it.

    I liked Endurance Auto Warranty's price. I was gonna call them here in a little bit. The gentleman that I spoke to was setting up two vehicles, and they put it in two separate policy things. They don't put what the vehicle is anywhere on their paperwork. You gotta know the policy number. I'm looking at the billing, and I have no idea which vehicle it's on. Each car has a separate account number, which I think is stupid. Also, I set the payment up to be automatically withdrawn from my banking account but when they passed that over to MEPCO, the people that handles their billing, something got lost in the translation because they're not set up for automatic payment.     I was searching on the internet for the top auto extended warranty companies, and Endurance was in the top three. The purchasing process wasn't hard. A couple of folks over there were rude in the beginning. But then, I found the right person to talk to, and then it became simple. But the thing is you have to get back to them if you want to know what's going on. They don't call back and let you know the status. That's something Endurance needs to work on. For example, I have already finished my one month of the requirement that when you buy an extended warranty, you have to wait for a month, and also, you have to drive your car about 1,000 miles. Nobody has called to tell me that, “Hey, your warranty is now effective. Everything is good to go.” I have to give them a call to confirm.

    Some of their guys are edgy, and some of them are really polite and really trying to work with you. I had a mixed experience over there in terms of communication. But when I found the right person, they explained things well. I was able to get to their website and get to know what they were offering. They just need to improve communication with respect to when your warranty has matured and when it’s effective. I'm expecting some kind of a call from them because if I go to their website, it doesn't tell me anything. Other than that, I will definitely recommend this to my friends because they have a good offering in terms of extended warranty for the car.

    DO NOT BUY ENDURANCE/Drive Protect! Nearly 2 months and no resolve. Email me if you are unhappy with the service you've received. This horror started January 14, 2021 and as of March 4, 2021 it remains unresolved. My car is still under repair. Beware they will try, and shift blame on the mechanic shop or the customer. They will perform needless forensics on your car and will give you the absolute minimum care. They are RUDE. This includes low level employees to managers. Being helpful is not a priority, The contract is not very customer friendly and you don't understand that until after you purchase. The sales and servicing department are very different and I had never heard of Drive Protect until I needed service.

    I purchased from ENDURANCE and downloaded the app that is also called ENDURANCE so I did not understand that they do not service the contract, So basically after purchase ENDURANCE has nothing to do with the consumer and you must deal with DRIVE PROTECT. As a woman I am a believer in extended warranties and have been purchasing them for years for everything from my home to my treadmill. I researched and found ENDURANCE ADVANTAGE VEHICLE PROTECTION. I saw so many good reviews. Now I am finding that some of these reviews are fake. The easiest part about this warranty company is purchasing it. My Mini Cooper broke while on the way to the airport and I called the roadside assistance provided by the warranty and it was a fantastic experience. They dispatched a tow company quickly. The tow company waited until I was safe and charged my phone.

    The next step in an awfully long process is getting the car diagnosed. Easy enough I thought. My mechanic ran a diagnosis. The car needs a new engine. ENDURANCE/DRIVE PROTECT says this is not a satisfactory answer, they need more details. He provides scope pictures and reports to me and the contact person (Rosie) that one cylinder is not firing at all and the other has low pressure. They then reply they need to know WHY this happened. My mechanic responds that the piston hit the cylinder probably because of the speed I was driving. They then said, "We still do not know WHY." They instructed the mechanic to get my permission to tear the motor down. He does and confirms his findings. They are still unsatisfied and ask him to take the head off the engine because they need more answers.

    Now remember my approval is needed for each step because if they decide not to pay, I am responsible for all the additional labor and testing they require. Now we all know from day 3 the car needs an engine. At this point I am upset, and the mechanic is upset because my car is holding up his lift costing him money. So, with no choice I give my approval. Then they ask him to take the head apart because they need to know more and see more to answer WHY. I say ok again to my labor. Finally, the adjuster comes and the first thing he says is, "Why did you take the head off." Honestly, I think some of these issues were personality and ego issues from the DIRECT PROTECT office.

    At last, after many calls and much back and forth they agree to replace the engine because they can NOW see the melted components more clearly. We already knew the low pressure and a hot running engine would have heat damage. So, they find an engine from a company and then tell my mechanic he must pay the $3000.00 to the company they picked for the engine they choose in order to complete the job. My mechanic is reasonably reluctant because of warranty issues and he does not know the company. Honestly, why would he after all the bad customer service and slow response. I then say, "Get the engine. I will pay for it." He calls the company, and the guy says, "Who do I bill? You or them...." He says, "We usually bill the insurance company." I was in disbelief.

    Why would DRIVE PROTECT lie and say that the only way to get the engine was for us to pay GRASSY directly? At this point it is noticeably clear I’m not their favorite nor my mechanic. So finally, we get the engine, and we install it and the thermostat that came with the engine is not working properly. My mechanic calls Rosie and she says the policy does not cover the thermostat and that it is a customer pay item. Now they are asking me to pay for the thermostat that came with the engine that they made us purchase from the company they picked. So of course, the suggestion was, "You can send the engine back...." Are you kidding? Who has the time or the money for additional labor cost?"

    Now let us get to the overall customer service. In short, they are very rude. The manager rudely asked me "do you have a degree in engineering and mechanics, or have you ever worked in a shop?" The process is long and complicated. Oh! And you cannot get a rental car until the car has been diagnosed which you pay for and they reimburse. The maximum allowed for rental car expense is $150.00. I'm including my email address because I'm looking for other unsatisfied customers. Let's prevent this from happening in other states. Lets safeguard other consumers. If we get enough people we can at least have them investigated. **

    The part that was not explained until after just about the signing was that I had to wait 1,000 miles and a year before it was effective. I wish I had known that upfront. That might have changed my opinion. But getting it at the end, I've been through enough of it that I frankly didn't give a damn, I still had a warranty on my car from the manufacturer and it would actually fit in fine.

    Then the amount of paperwork was just excessive as hell. I thought it was a good thing. I felt like I needed to have a lawyer on my side just to read all the reams of paperwork that were involved in the process. I also felt ill-prepared to go through it, knowing full well that it must have taken a hell of a lot of legal minds and work to put that together, and I felt very much at a disadvantage. But then this is probably the least painful and the most professional I could get. I found the people knowledgeable, courteous, and very helpful. I just found the process grueling. The only thing that wasn't really explained well was there was a $250 card, and there'll be another one that I’d get later. It's described as being used to make any kind of purchase that I would want. But after I got the first one, I saw that that was not only fairly limited in that scope, but that it wasn't really used to make purchases, but rather basically discounts on gift cards. So, I ultimately won't even use it.

    But the purchase process was fine. The only other thing that might be helpful is even if the rates can't be published, letting people know ahead of time that there is a 1,000 mile and a waiting period of three or four months so it's easier to compare with other providers of the warranty. But there weren't really a whole lot of problems.

    When I got my vehicle, the one that I signed up with was Alpha Warranty and they covered very little. When I called Endurance, they told me they would cover a large area of mechanical problems in a vehicle that may occur. They made me make a choice. Also, with the $100 deductible, there's a hold-up and there's no wait. They will service you and it’s only three simple things. The way that the rep explained the coverage was top of the line because even though he showed me I could bring it up online, they also mailed me a hardcopy that I requested. I got one plan for me and one for my son. It works very well. I gotta wait for the 30 days and the 1000 miles before I can use it. I understand that the company wants to make sure that people do not just come and try to get a coverage and then, there’s something already wrong with the automobile. So, I'm very satisfied.

    The rep was nice and sweet. She got me through the purchase of the warranty. She told me the details of what I needed to know and about the whole service. From what she told me, everything is good and that's why I want to keep Endurance. I put down the 200 deposit. I know I got to make a payment but right now, we got snowed in so I missed out on three days of money. I'm in a rut. When I do make the payment, I want to make at least two months’ payment. I'm recommending Endurance some people to Endurance.

    I hit up a few companies when I googled them and Endurance was the first one to call me back. I looked at the reviews for them and it seemed good, which was why I chose them. My experience with the guy when I was signing-up was good and the coverage was explained well. The warranty is very valuable because you'll never know when your car is breaking. I've had a lot of cars that you think is running great then something happens. When you're not expecting it, you have to throw two grand into a new engine.

    Endurance was the first company that called when I was looking for a warranty. The rep explained everything to me such as how the process works. I told him I was interested in it but I was in my car driving. So, he said he would call me back. He did and explained it a little more, and I signed up. When I paid for it and I saw the additional $20 taken out that I did not approve of, I didn't realize there was an additional $20 for tires. No one told me about that. I got that refunded. Other than that, Endurance is alright.

    I considered Endurance at first and I got a guy who was super nice to me until he called me back. He said his name was David. I asked him to let me study the contract and for him to give me a call back. Then, I found out I could get a different warranty which I thought was good and was about $800 cheaper than Endurance. When I told him that, he went crazy. I talked to a different Endurance rep later and he said they don't have a David. Other than that, the reps were awful nice. After looking at the way the Better Business Bureau rated Endurance, I went with their company.

    I researched different companies looking at what they had for coverage and Endurance seemed to be willing to deal with vehicles with higher mileage a little bit longer time frames than the other ones. Their price is a little bit less than what the other company wanted and they had better coverage. The only issue I had there was I talked to a gentleman who said they're gonna put a copy of the policy or something in the mail and there was nothing for like a week. Other than that, there was no problem with the process.

    Endurance sounds like a very good plan. The rep I worked with was informative. He seemed to know the answers to the questions I had. However, the payment was supposed to be made to MEPCO. We made the payment to them at the end of February. For some reason, that never went through. So, we got a call from Endurance last week wondering about the payment.     Robert, the sales rep of Endurance was very nice and kind. He explained everything in a perfect way. However, when I called Endurance to ask about something in the policy, the rep was rude. I asked her why on the policy, it says that they all have to be done every 3,500 miles. When I explained that the factory uses a motor oil 0W-20, that is fully synthetic, for 10,000 months, she said no because that kind of oil is extra. I also asked her about when I need to do the maintenance of the car, do a full inspection and air filter change, how much would have that cost. She said, "All that is in the contract. If you need a contract, I can mail it to you." She was not experienced in the customer service field.
