I was looking to get a policy with the basic powertrain. I search CARCHEX up on Google. Speaking with their representative was easy, but it took some time to get the policy. Other than that, I really like their patience.
Chinedu, we're glad you found the coverage you were looking for. We also appreciate you mentioning the time it took to receive your policy, and it's wonderful to know our representative's patience made a difference. We hope you enjoy peace of mind with your coverage!

I wanted to have protection as I bought one used car and I have my own car that has more miles on it. I looked at different companies, and CARCHEX was the one I wanted to go with. The signup process was very easy. What stood out the most was the ability for the phone representative to email anything that I could look at. I also like the ability to cancel. It's month to month coverage.
Matthew, we love hearing that you found the coverage that was right for you. It's great to know the sign-up process was easy and that having everything available by email made your decision even more comfortable. If you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

I've had CARCHEX for several years. Filing a claim is a piece of cake. The dealer does it. I do not have to do a thing. Renewing my policy has not been a problem, too. Overall, I'm very satisfied.
Bill, there's nothing better than hearing from a longtime customer! We're so glad the claims process and renewing your coverage have both been easy experiences for you. Thank you for continuing to place your trust in CARCHEX.

I purchased an older Boxster Porsche, and just doing the research, I figured when these things break, they break expensively. So, it made sense to get something to cover the drivetrain. When I looked overall, CARCHEX for the price had more value. Signing up was straightforward. There was some kind of online quote, and then they made arrangements to speak with me. Their representative explained the program and how much it was. I got the policy, and an attachment email so I could print that out. It would have been nice if I had like a plastic card that I could just carry with me in my wallet that would say, “Well, here's your policy number. Here's the numbers you call,” this, that, and the other. I haven't had to actually make a claim, but the sales experience was fine.
Tim, thank you for your review! It means a lot to know that getting started was a simple experience, and we appreciate you sharing your idea about a wallet card for your policy information. If you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

I've been with CARCHEX for two months. I'm almost to the threshold period thing. I was told not to go with American Auto Shield. However, CARCHEX had the same thing as American Auto Shield. They act as a third-party. Their rep was honest and straightforward. Had some chit-chatting about other random things. He seemed relatable. A talkative dude in a good way. He was knowledgeable of the product and kind of posed a lot of the anxiety of at ease. Especially spending money to where hopefully whenever something does happen, CARCHEX follows through with it.
I hear stories. “You can choose wherever, then we'll deal with it.” And sometimes depending on the vehicle, dealerships will be, “This is what it needs.” They will look for your Chinesium cheapest part to send out when sometimes OEM is better to have less problems down the road. I'm hoping I don't encounter that where it's used parts being put on versus new. Time will tell. With the car being known for transmission issues, I am having a bit of a shuttering, but it's not to cause concern because it's just how it behaves. But I know if the transmission was to go out, they're 12 grand, and I don't want to drop 12 grand.
Brandon, thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review! We know choosing a protection plan is a big decision, and it's great to hear our representative helped make you feel more comfortable and confident throughout the process. We appreciate you placing your trust in CARCHEX, and we hope your coverage gives you the peace of mind you're looking for. If you ever have questions about your plan, we're only a phone call away.

Absolute garbage. Water pump failure on an Audi. Got a quote for $2800 and $2900 from 2 different shops. Carchex is only paying $900, and I have a $500 deductible. So, I get $400 for a $2800 repair. Bought the plan from Carchex, but it is actually run by American Auto Shield. This is worthless. Run. Save your money.
Matthew, we know it can be frustrating when repair costs are much higher than expected, and the claim outcome doesn't match what you were hoping for.

I got Carchex after 2 very long RECORDED conversation with their sales people. I asked all the pertinent questions such as how long before I can start using it, how does it work, will I be denied for ANY reason, what will I need to file a claim if something happens, etc etc. 3 months into the plan my transmission died very suddenly and with no warning. When I went to file a claim they told me I needed the maintenance records from when I bought the car TEN years ago and if I couldn't find them then the claim was unusable.
I obviously cancelled them on both of my vehicles since I do not have the maintenance records for either car that far back. What a SCAM! How many people actually have maintenance records for 10 full years? That should have been explained VERY clearly when I asked all my questions. I would NOT have signed up and wasted 3 months of payments on 2 vehicles if I had known that since I absolutely know I don't have all those records. A lot of wasted money. What a scam!!!!
Thuy, thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
Our review indicates that the Claims Department requested documentation demonstrating that the recommended transmission service had been performed. This information is requested to help verify that the vehicle has been maintained according to the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule, as required under the terms of the contract.
If you have questions about the documentation being requested or need assistance with the claims process, please contact our Customer Service team. We'd be happy to review your claim with you, discuss the available options, and answer any questions you may have.

We had some vehicles that were coming out of warranty, and we found Carchex online. My office did the research and thought they were the more qualified company. There’s a $1,000 deductible in the first 30 days. But we can’t use it within 90 days. After that, there’s a $250 deductible. There's a $10,000 maximum limit per month. Carchex covers the motor, tranny and suspension parts. We were told it covers multiple things, and from looking at the contracts, it looks like it does. We have Carchex on five vehicles. If I use it after the 90 days and it doesn't work on one vehicle, I will cancel all five policies that same day. So, we're hoping that it works and that it is what it says it is in writing. Our only concern is that one stipulation about the contracts being in my personal name, and all the vehicles being in the same company name.
The agent who wrote the program for us was the only person who was able to answer questions correctly. We applied for the warranties for the five vehicles, and for three weeks, I received constant phone calls from Carchex representatives who did not know how to get all of those vehicles together. They would call and ask me to sign up for a warranty, but I kept explaining that I had five vehicles and needed to do all of them at the same time. One representative was the only one who understood the situation. He told me to get all five vehicles in front of me and he did it all at once. If he had not called and handled all five vehicles together, I would not have purchased all five warranties through Carchex.

Very satisfied with how they managed my repairs. My car had low mileage when the engine failed. They Examined my engine to determine cause then gave me a new engine. Carchex has been a huge and costly disappointment. They refused to cover the testing costs needed to determine what repair was needed and then denied another legitimate repair needed. I would never recommend using them!
Randy, we appreciate you taking the time to share this. A review of the claim shows the diagnostic performed was a visual inspection. Diagnostic fees are typically not covered when the evaluation is limited to a visual check or a road test, rather than more in-depth testing to confirm a failure.
We understand how that can be disappointing, and we would be happy to go over the details with you. If you’d like to review your claim further or have any questions, please contact our Customer Service team, and we can walk through everything together.

Automatic monthly payment made on my account for years, first time something happens and I filed a claim it was denied or the part needed they said wasn't covered and I know it was, it stated it was covered in the contract, so this is a SCAM COMPANY, they take your money but will not help when truck/vehicle breaks down.
Sandra, thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand how frustrating this situation must feel, especially after maintaining your coverage over time. Upon review, the claim was denied based on an exclusion in the contract related to the cause of failure being a clog. At this time, the repair facility has also requested a teardown of the engine for further diagnostics. I got a new BMW convertible, and that brand needs a lot of maintenance in general. I didn't know the car and Carchex seemed affordable. I found them through internet searches on who is competent and affordable. They offer a month-to-month operation and I could keep it for two months or two years. I also considered people's experience when they had to use it.
The representative was knowledgeable and helpful. He was trying to sell, but he was also doing a good job of advising and coming up with a level, and I kept going to a lower one. I said, “Yeah, I don't see any reason to break $100 a month.” He did the job right and I’d hire him. He also owned a similar version of my car a few years back, so he knew the car. If someone buys an expensive European car, they might want to look into Carchex.

Bought two policies and made a couple of claims. One for wheel bearings and yesterday for the electronic trunk latch. In both cases, the amount covered was significantly lower than the cost of repair. It was $537 for the trunk latch at the dealer after all the labor and tax; I'm in Western, PA and the labor rate isn't like a big city! Carchex contracted coverage only covered about $240 with a $100 deductible. So the repair cost me $400. The experience with the wheel bearings very similar.
It appears they undercut the actual labor cost and search the planet for the cheapest possible part (even if a dealership won't install it because of quality/Warranty issues). I wouldn't at all be surprised if they found a trunk latch at 'Jamal's Rebuilt Parts' in Baghdad, Iraq, and used that price to pay the claim. Want to feel like an IDIOT? Buy a Carchex policy. I did because it was so highly recommended by "The Car Guys" on NPR... Wonder how much they got for the promotion? BUY YOUR POLICY ELSEWHERE!
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand your concerns regarding the difference in repair costs and the amount covered. Labor rates are based on a nationally recognized labor guide, and coverage is determined according to the terms outlined in the contract. At this time, we are unable to locate an account with the information provided. Please respond with your contract number or contact Customer Service at 1-800-442-1432 so we can review your concerns in more detail and provide further clarification.

I searched for extended warranty providers and Carchex was the first non-sponsored result on Google. My choices were between them and another company. They both had about the same reviews, but Carchex ended up being marginally cheaper per month than the other company was, so I ended up going with them. The salesman tried to upsell me, but that's a classic salesman doing their job.
For each policy, I received a small book, almost all their contract stuff. I haven't read through the handbook, but I'm familiar with the most important parts of the contract people see when they sign up as far as what's covered versus what isn't. Hopefully, I'll never have to use them, but if I do, I'm hoping the process is seamless. It's better to have an extended warranty and not need it than need it and not have it.

I have a 2018 Chevy Volt and I had a Chevrolet Platinum Protection Plan that I got through General Motors when I bought the vehicle brand new. I was running to New York, and the AC stopped working all the way down. They had to do the compressor, and some relevant parts, except the fuse. They covered it all, which was an expensive repair without the warranty. At some point, navigation had developed an issue, and they covered it as well. They stood by the contract. Whatever they promised or intended to be covered, they fixed it at the Chevrolet showroom. That motivated me to look into some options, and that served me well. The warranty expired last year and I got coverage.
There are many warranty companies with a questionable reputation. People pay as agreed, but when the time comes, things get delayed quite a bit. I did my due diligence and the lady I dealt with at Carchex was excellent. She was able to patiently answer all my questions. I appreciated the clarity and also the assurance. Carchex is one of the best companies out there. They really take pride in honest delivery of the product. The lady cited some of the public resources out there that validated what she said and it added more assurance. Carchex is definitely worth the investment. Get it.

Carchex kind of screwed me over. I didn't have my car around when I first signed up, so I just guessed the mileage, and I guessed way over, and I didn't realize. They never said to give them a follow-up or anything. They didn’t say I had to call back and give them the exact mileage. Something happened with my car, four months down the road. Then, when I had turned it in, they said, “It's only two miles over the mileage you gave us.” I said, “It couldn't be because I didn't drive 15 miles to get to the dealership.” I didn't realize that I had given them the wrong mileage, and it just never went anywhere. They didn't cover my car. They said it was, before I signed up. The guy looked at the notes and said he saw that. He said, “This is the estimate,” but they still wouldn't cover it. The guy said that he's seen in the notes that I told the guy, “I don't have the car. This is what I think it is.” Nothing came out of it. I just ended up having to pay out of pocket.
Lashawn, we’re very concerned to hear about this experience and understand how frustrating that situation must have been. Providing the correct mileage at the time of enrollment is extremely important because the waiting period and contract terms are based on the mileage reported, and even small differences can impact eligibility once a claim is submitted. We certainly understand how an estimate could have been given if the vehicle was not available at the time. We encourage you to contact our Customer Service team at 1-800-442-1432 so we can review the details with you and determine if there is anything that can be done to assist.

I found Carchex online and I signed up with them because their rate does not change after three or five years. It’s till the time I end the contract. When I reached out, I didn't have any problem with the reps. Some of them came off as like a car salesman, but the woman I spoke to was professional. She explained everything to me. However, I felt pressured. I work from home 100%, so I'm averaging 3,000 miles in nine months. I'm thinking that I don't need the warranty, ‘cause I don't really drive my car. The $110 a month is being wasteful that I could be using somewhere else.
Another thing is the representative that I set the policy up with said, “We don't send out booklets, and we don't send out invoices monthly, so we would just do autopay.” I don't like autopay off my credit card or bank account, but I was told, once I made my initial payment, I could call in and change it to where I pay it on my own. However, when I tried to change it, I was not able to do that. The financial part of the company said, “We have to do it this way.”
Yvonne, we appreciate your sharing your honest feedback. We’re glad to hear you found value in the consistent rate and that your representative took the time to explain the coverage clearly. We also understand your concerns, especially if you are driving less and weighing whether the monthly cost makes sense for your situation.
Regarding billing, we do require a form of payment to be kept on file for automatic payments, as this helps prevent any lapse in coverage and keeps the policy active without interruption. We understand that autopay is not everyone’s preference, and we appreciate you voicing your concerns about it.

I was with Carchex and I paid my money for several years, then when I had something wrong with my car, they refused to pay. They want to have their own part, and I don't blame them. Carchex was going through a lot of rigmarole, back and forth, and communicating with the dealer. Hyacinth, thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how frustrating repair situations can become when there are pricing differences involved. A review of the claim indicates that we were prepared to cover the labor for the repair, along with a portion of the parts. The adjuster who spoke to my mechanic said they will only pay $417.00 toward work that costs $2,228.00. And said they can give the parts! You would think they would replace it my genuine part with the same a German part. No! This pion said they can send in Japanese parts !!!! Are you kidding me ? Japanese parts in a German car ?! I was mortified! The adjuster is a complete idiot! When I call “Carchex” I have to go through all these different departments such as car shield and American Auto Shield! So guess what! Carchex sells you the extended warranty but it’s American Auto shield that is the underwriter for the contract! A complete scam.
My contract doesn’t say this not does it say that they will only pay part of the what needs to be fixed on the car my claim number for this alternator issue is **. Do not waste your money with them! They are stealing customers money!! You read this review! Don’t you dare waste one cent with them. Find someone else or buy a new vehicle where the dealership you are purchasing the car from has an extended warranty that covers everything no questions asked! And no deductible! You can get one that covers up to 75,000 miles or 100,000 or more. You will have to pay up to $5,000 to 8,000 for it upfront of you can finance it! It’s worth it. I have done this twice. I have owned Audi for 19 years! You will have a peace of mind! All you have to do Is call the dealership when your vehicle has been diagnosed and they take it from there by calling the extended warranty company and you're all set!

I can’t express how disappointed I am with your company. Please review claim #**. First, I completely agree with your decision not to cover the initial estimate; it was ridiculous. After much back and forth, you finally agreed to pay for the cylinder head replacement, but again, at your costs. While the dealership covered the majority of the costs, I was still left with a bill of $2,076 that I had to pay to retrieve my car. I thought I was paying for a warranty to avoid these out-of-pocket expenses. Now, I am trying to get my thermostat fixed, and you are still denying the claim.
Initially, the dealership contacted Carchex and informed the service manager that the repair was not covered. After further review, you acknowledged the mistake, yet you still denied the repair amount. Eventually, you agreed to pay for part of the repair, but your offer is not acceptable. The cost to repair or replace the thermostat unit is $1,199.24. You informed the service manager that you would only cover $385 in labor and $70.80 for parts, leaving me to pay the remainder. Have you lost your mind?
The purpose of this warranty is to cover the repairs that are explicitly included. As stated in the contract booklet I received from your company: “Carchex is committed to providing the best product and the best service in the industry.” You have not fulfilled that commitment. If you do not want to service or pay for repairs on vehicles like mine—Mini Coopers, BMWs, or any German or foreign vehicles with higher repair costs—please do not offer a warranty for those vehicles. Be upfront during the sales call and say, “We cannot guarantee coverage for repairs on your vehicle because of its make.”
Yes, you have the right to deny repair costs, just as dealerships and repair facilities have the right to charge what they choose. However, the issue lies in your omission of this truth when selling the product, leaving consumers like me to uncover it later. Your company has failed its customers, and it’s no surprise that you rank eight place in the industry. I plan to share this letter on every social media platform I use to warn consumers not to buy a warranty from your company, and instead to consider the number one provider, Endurance, which will take better care of customers. I am also sending a copy of this letter to the following organizations:
- Better Business Bureau- Federal Trade Commission
- Attorney General of Texas
- Texas State Consumer Agency
Additionally, I will make weekly complaints on Google, Yelp, or any car review platform. I will advise consumers to choose Endurance for a better warranty experience and to cancel their current warranty with you, as you are not worth the headache.

I'm not going to go into a long, super-detailed account of what happened with this, um, "company." The important thing to do is to just take into account all of the one-star reviews. 99 percent of all complaints are all centered around this, um, "company," not paying when claims are made. It doesn't matter if the bogus plans they offer are silver, platinum, diamond, or 24 karat gold. The bottom line is that they are NOT going to pay when it's time to use auto repair services. So, my story is not unlike any of the others. I bought a policy. I tried to use the policy for repair. This lacking "company" balked at paying. I paid out of pocket for the repair, AND, apologized to the repair shop for having to deal with CARCHEX. (I had to do a revision of my review because I was sort of making personal insults. Unethical and misleading advertising, from a fundamentally unethical company! When I purchased the policy, I asked the agent whether I could do any covered repairs at the dealership. The agent said "ABSOLUTELY!" What he did not tell me was that they will not approve original equipment (OEMs) or the labor rates of a typical dealership. They also "neglected" to let me know that they don't cover screws, hoses, and all sorts of auxiliary items that repair shops will not put back into the car in fear that they may fail.
When someone fails to highlight critical information, they "lie by omission". CARCHEX makes money when they DON'T provide service. They are not your friend. They are your adversary, who makes money when you end up paying out of pocket. You THINK that you have coverage, but really you DON'T. Save your money and the aggravation.

Not an absolute scam but you certainly do not receive what you expect from this company. Their sales pitch and website make it sound as though you can “pick any repair shop you want including the dealership”. Get an estimate for the work, call to gain approval, have the vehicle repaired and pay your deductible. Wrong. They rely on “national average repair rates and aftermarket parts costs”. What that means is that actually repairing your car will cost far more than their data shows. So you should be prepared for the program to cover maybe 50% of the cost before your deductible. For most repairs, you’d be better off if you simply saved the upfront cost of the warranty program and paid out of pocket for future repairs. Perhaps not a scam but certainly not as advertised on their webpage. Stay away.

I purchased their Titanium plan which covered primarily bumper to bumper with $100 deductible. Was told can use any ASE or dealership for repairs. If you buy this plan, expect to pay out of pocket for much more than the deductible amount. They will lowball labor and parts prices. This plan through Carchex is administered by Royal Administration Services. I submitted two claims at different times. The first was for non working AC and a malfunction control arm. Total bill for both these repairs were $990.55 in which they paid only $517.59. Per the mechanic, they would only pay for a used aftermarket control arm part. I was told by the mechanic they could not warranty a used part, so I ended up paying out of pocket $472.96, well over the expected $100 deductible.
Two years later, I needed a fuel pump. Plan paid only $319.58 out of a total bill of $1117.27, leaving me to pay the balance of $797.69. Again, well over the $100 deductible amount. Their methods to determine parts and labor cost do not reflect realistic prices and therefore the plan will end up paying significantly less than one would expect. I have had other extended warranties of which I never paid more than the deductible amount, and wish I would have stayed with those. This plan looks good on paper, but in reality will not pay out as expected. Please look for another vehicle warranty. Based on my two experiences, I would recommend staying away from Carchex/Royal Administrative Services. I would recommend not buying this plan.

The rep made it seem like everything would be fine and he had my back, which I appreciated. I hope that comes true when it's time for me to use the warranty. Also, he didn't try to upsell me and I had follow-up emails as well. But there wasn't a lot of perks. My representative made it seem like the coverage included mainly the transmission, engine and some extensions. But I kept asking what did he mean by the extension. He told me that the policy covers the air and the windows, but I'm not sure if it covers the battery. Other than that, I told my friend that I like CARCHEX. Most aftermarket warranty companies would request you to drive 1,000 miles and to wait 30 days. But CARCHEX would only require you to wait 25 days and only drive 500 miles. She told me what Carchex had for the specific amount and the best thing that was suitable for me according to what I was looking for. Then, she helped me compare one with the other. So, it was great.
I own a Mercedes Benz and it has over 100,000 miles and I was looking for the big-ticket items such as the transmission, electrical, engine and cooking that are the big-tier prices on this kind of vehicle. The amount was reasonable for the stuff I was looking for and I like that the deductible is only $200. Most of the companies charge you a deductible of $1,000 and then, they cover the rest of it. So this one is only $200 which is good. I was paying about the same when I had the extended warranty that the dealership offers. This time was the second time that I've ever had the car in the shop while under CARCHEX and they gave the dealership a hard time. The dealership compromised labor and other things that the car needed. I asked the dealership if CARCHEX is paying less than normal compared to other extended warranty companies and the dealership said that CARCHEX is paying less. That really irritates me because I just signed up with them for another year. Had I known this problem was gonna exist, I would have picked another company. I'm very disappointed that I signed up with them for another three years.
They were easy to get on the phone when I needed to extend my policy. They were cordial and efficient. When I had a claim and my car was in the shop, they sent an adjuster out right away. They didn't hold up the repair process, which is a good thing. The problem lies in their not wanting to pay. I know the dealerships charge more for labor per hour than another guy on the side with a smaller shop and Mercedes did decrease their hourly rate as much as they possibly could. But when I have my adjuster who's been my guy since I bought the car tell me that they're paying less per hour than other warranty companies, then I'm very dissatisfied.

I’m concerned that it says in the contract that you have to change the transmission fluid every 24,000 miles and if I don’t, that’s a reason for a denial in repairing it. So, that's a conflict of interest with what the factory warranty may be.

I called the CARCHEX phone number and was connected to someone who was very helpful.
In receiving my written contract, I sometimes scratched my head as I sat here last night and read through that. I'm beginning to wonder what is covered under that contract and what will I actually get in the event that my car does have serious issues. One other thing that I had to read two or three times was the fact that it's so many months or so many miles before the contract ever kicks in. The other part that I question and wonder about is having to have everything approved ahead of time before I can have any work done on my car. But I would have to take the car to a garage first before I know what's wrong with it and then I gotta make phone calls and get somebody on the other end to understand what they're talking about. I'm not sure how helpful this policy is gonna be but I'm gonna try it for a while and see how it goes with it.
I hope I'm not just throwing money away for no service when the time comes. My car is the very first one I ever had and I was in my 70s when I bought it. I'm now in my second year of being 80 and there are no issues with my car. I don't expect or anticipate any. But in the event that something does happen, it's a good idea to carry that CARCHEX contract. So far, I've only been in contact with one person. The lady I talked to was very nice. Right there, I almost hung up. But it was something I was interested in, so I didn't. Carchex shouldn't do that. If they know a price they can offer you, they should just say, "Hey, it's this price," and then sell it on the product itself, not that timeshare sales tactic. So I'm still on the fence on whether I cancel this out because of that.
I was disappointed that Carchex didn't offer me the premier package. They said it was because my car had over 100,000, and they couldn't offer me the package where it protects the electrical, like the navigation and the electrical component type stuff. That's another reason why I'm still considering my 30-day period of dropping Carchex.

So, I felt rest assured that I was in good hands, that my car was protected and I had the peace of mind I needed and I just had to pay my monthly fee.
The setup was easy, the information was comprehensive, that I had a clear understanding of what I was paying for and what I was getting for my money. And that if they wanted to have somebody, until they prove you wrong by their actions in not fulfilling the agreement, you can trust them. Until they prove me wrong, I'm okay with making my monthly payments.

I went online and checked Carchex, and I talked to the guy. I was impressed with the coverage and everything they had to offer. The deductible was $200 and I said I couldn’t do that because Endurance was giving me a $100 deductible. And the guy from Carchex said they could do the same thing. I told him to do it and not to screw me with another $100 from the beginning knowing well that Endurance was gonna give me that. So with my being a disabled veteran, I got a discount from them. The guy said he would send me a package and I asked if that was a problem. He said no. Carchex shouldn’t give me a hard time with getting my package in because Endurance did that to my buddy. It took him almost three weeks to get the package.
Other agents from Carchex kept on calling me and I told them they needed to get themselves together. The agents are not communicating or they're not checking the computer that I already bought a policy. The first guy was trying to get me to do multiple cars and I said I still have a warranty on my truck. I'm not gonna do anything on my truck until my warranty has expired. So I'm just waiting. This guy was trying to pressure selling me that way and I told him not to do that. I'm not gonna deal with him until December when my truck is paid off. So then, I had this other money that I could work with. Today, this other guy calls me from CARCHEX, trying to talk me into getting that extended warranty on my truck. I said I already talked to Oscar and I already told him my situation. I said he should not bother me anymore or I'll forget about going with Carchex on my extended warranty on my truck.

Within another three minutes, it was 219, and within another two minutes, it was 149. Then it ended up being 119. I know about sales but they should have one price when someone calls. I got the premium package and I wanted to cover as much as possible on the car. The rep said the warranty would take effect within 500 miles or 28 days and he was professional enough. The rep said the coverage would take effect as soon as he was able to finalize it with my payment. After I paid him, he sent me all the information and I printed out the paperwork. He said I would get them in the mail also. Besides that, I don't understand what I read on the papers. The information is saying I've gotta maintain the car, which I do. I would keep all the records and I've gotta make sure I didn't cause it to break down, that it did it on its own.
I wanted to get some kind of coverage where I would be able to take my car into a shop and get it fixed if it breaks down. My car isn't that old and I haven't had any problems with it. If it ever broke down though, like a major issue, I needed to make sure that it'd be covered because they cost quite a bit nowadays to get fixed. I got a package that covers the engine and the majority of everything. It covers really mostly what I need and it comes with oil changes. What they can't do, I'm not worried about it. I can always have my brother or somebody to look at it. The policy takes effect in 25 days.
I have a brother who is a mechanic and he said there are certain things that you would want for your cars and done for them. Some shops don't even want to do them anymore. If it's a major job, they don't wanna do it. An extended warranty is a good thing as it helps save people money. When the pandemic came, a lot of people's cars got messed up. I don't know Carchex's entire pay structure and how their costs operate, but I work in the insurance industry for farmers. If people generally try to call in to get something that's currently wrong covered, then their business model is to accept payment then deny coverage for some reason. I went over some things on the contract. It seemed CARCHEX covers most stuff, so it should be all right. The only thing I didn't like was they pressured me to make a decision on the spot.

CARCHEX has good customer service. Besides that, it was a great price, and their rep really helped me out with the price. We have the same type of car. We conversed about it. He was very professional the whole time, very calm and collective, and very friendly. He wasn't too pushy. He really let me make my decision. My package covers the whole drivetrain, window motors, car lock, brakes, and 24/7 roadside assistance. He explained about filing a claim really well. With the maintenance, they said, "If you ever need a repair, you only pay the $100 deductible." They work with the dealership and they get the parts to them.

I made one claim when I had CARCHEX before. But what I had to go for, they didn't cover. When I resigned up, the rep informed me of what would happen as far as receiving my materials in the mail, and sending me a confirmation email. The rep explained all my coverages and gave me the telephone number that I need to call if I needed to reach out to file a claim. He sent me my welcome packet before we got off the phone. It went well.

I was reached out to by Carchex saleswomen shortly after looking for extended car warranties for my 2018 Audi S4 saying they have very low prices and I better not miss the amazing rates and I have exactly 24 hours before the deal is done. I responded by letting her know my car has a few modifications but I was interested and after sending her what I had done to the car she reached back to me letting me know my car was eligible and that she would reach out to her managers with the modifications to make sure and if it wasn't eligible I would be quick to know and get refunded (I also sent pictures of the car along with the engine bay to make sure they have a clear image of what they are dealing with). Cool, went ahead and got the best plan they had, titanium bumper to bumper. Almost 5 thousand dollars.
Months go by I drive approximately 5 thousand miles and go in for service at 50 thousand miles. The dealer said I need engine mounts replaced as they're leaking with a bunch of other stuff which is covered under the plan. I get a call back saying your claim has been declined on the basis of your car being modified. They rejected my engine mounts along with everything else on the basis that I have aftermarket lowering springs. I actually didn't know my car had anything done to the suspension as I bought it with most modifications already done. They reach out letting me know my only option would be to cancel myself and get refunded. And here I am still waiting for a reply to the email about canceling my plan and getting said refund coming upon two weeks after the initial incident.

The reps gave me the scenarios of what I was looking for. My biggest beef with these services is that they want you to sign up right then and there when you're talking to them on the phone instead of analyzing and thinking about the warranty.

Tyler ** was my salesperson. He was very friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. He was not pushy, but consistent like a good salesman. I have no complaints with how I was handled. I would recommend him to others. The coverage is very impressive and very affordable. I think I will be happy with my new coverage. Thank You!

Carchex covers everything I need covered in my car. If anything happens to my car, I just stop anywhere and I have the roadside assistance. If my car gets locked and the key is locked in, they’ll come and open the car for me. And if I have a flat tire, they’ll come and help me. I'm okay with the warranty. The customer service rep was excellent. He was very friendly and patient with me. He tried to get me the discount that I was allowed to get as a senior. He answered my questions and helped me through the whole process. So, he was very nice. I was very pleased.

Purchasing from Carchex was straightforward and informative. All my questions were answered. It’s a pretty good experience. But I canceled it because I ended up not getting the vehicle that I had the contract for. But if I had gotten it, then I would have stayed with it just fine. The representative kept offering a lot of discounts, which was nice, and was willing to work with me.

I purchased a used 2016 Jaguar F-Type R, called up Carchex and put the Titanium package on the vehicle. The vehicle had cooling fan failure and overheated the motor. I had the vehicle towed to the nearest Jaguar dealership. Jaguar contacted Carchex and provided details on what needed fixed. Carchex told Jaguar that they will not cover OEM parts but would cover aftermarket parts and are saying that I have to pay the difference plus all sales tax. So instead of paying my $100 deductible Carchex is leaving me responsible for a bill over $2000. I do not recommend this company to anybody. What is the purpose of having the best warranty they offer just for them to not cover OEM parts for your vehicle. I am currently having my warranty packet looked over by my company's legal team.

I changed policies, and Carchex applied the time and the mileage that I had already accumulated from the previous policy to the current one. The reps were very polite and accommodating, and it went well.

When I talked to the guy with CARCHEX, I texted a request for information because I tried to find out how much it would cost to put a bumper-to-bumper warranty on a used vehicle that I looked at. And I know the dealership would offer me stuff. So I wanted to know what I could get it for independently so I could compare it with what the dealership offered. I kept saying, "I'm not ready to put it on yet. I'm not ready to put it on yet." And he kept saying, "It'll be $139 a month. Rather than hang up and give up, how about I could do a senior discount and make it 109?" He just kept going down and adding things on.
He got down to $89 a month. It would be 96.13 with tax. I thought that seemed a reasonable amount. He said, "If you pay it today, I can get it for less than that." I said, "How about after I look at this truck, I call you to tell you if I wanna put it on." He said, "Then you'll be back to the 139." I asked, "I wouldn't get any of those discounts?" "No. You only get those discounts if you sign up today."
I understand I didn't do it this way, but I thought about doing it this way, he said, "When do you think you'll make a decision on the truck?" I said, “Probably sometime in the next 10 days." And he said, "Okay. You could do a future draft and so you'd have until the 18th of the month to decide if you're gonna do the coverage or not."
I should have just done that, but I didn't. Because he said, "It'll be $10 less if you do it today and we run it through." So, it was mostly price incentives that made me do it. I was fairly confident that I would buy this truck. When I got down there, there was bad damage that I didn't know about. And it looked like it had been used for auction to the commercial vehicle. So, I decided it wasn't the best buy for the money. This week, I gotta call him and tell him I want a refund and not to continue charging.

CARCHEX has the right price. Their rep was great. He talked to me and my husband and it was a good experience. The coverage was good and it was reasonable. I could afford what they were offering. I was looking for something monthly and it fit my criterion. I'm satisfied, so far. I'm gonna see how it works and if it doesn't, I'll just cancel it.
