Our promise. We provide a buying advantage with verified reviews and unbiased editorial research.
CARCHEX helps you purchase and maintain your car by offering various vehicle products, including extended auto warranties. Rather than offering its own plans, CARCHEX works with multiple third-party warranty providers. These vehicle service contracts cover repairs due to mechanical failures or malfunctions but not collisions. Plans also come with additional benefits like roadside assistance and towing.

We just started our plan with CARCHEX and so far, everybody’s been helpful. I was trying to inquire about a problem that we have that recently popped up and I tried to talk to someone but I kept getting interrupted by different things, not back there but here. So, it’s been good. Jeffrey, their specialist called us when it was convenient for us, and when we couldn’t answer the question he wanted, he gave us more time to think about it, and I feel comfortable with my plan so far. You never know when a problem occurs, but at least we have the notion that we have coverage, and it makes us feel comfortable. I’d recommend CARCHEX to anyone.
For the safety and the cost of wear/tear on my car (Cruze), I applied for the Carchex contract. Hopefully, that I'm looking into the future this will benefit me if I needed assistance in case a repairing occurs. I understand that $100 deductible if I apply on August 28, 2015, was that included? I will contact you whenever there's a question to ask.
I've had a very good experience with CARCHEX.
The coverage sounds ok so far but you have to drive 1000 miles before you can get coverage on your vehicle. I think it should be less than that because if you do not drive 1000 miles over a six month of time, you still do not get coverage. So you paying for coverage that you cannot use until you reach the thousand mile mark, I think it should be less than that.
I'm sorry for any confusion with your recent purchase with CARCHEX. Please understand that you do have coverage on your vehicle already. Roadside Assistance is available now as well. It's just that you can't file a claim until you have satisfied the waiting period which is 30 days and 1000 miles. Since CARCHEX sold you a warranty without an inspection first taking place, this waiting period helps to ensure that the vehicle is in proper working order. The 30 days and 1000 miles gets added on the back end of your contract so you don't lose any time or mileage that you paid for. If you have any further questions, please reach out to me directly. My number is 877.227.2439 extension 1491 and my email is email@example.com. I'm here and happy to help!Best,

I had a good experience signing up with CARCHEX. Everything worked out fine and I’d recommend them, however I was concerned and I wanted to ask the rep if I’m going to get a payment book to send the payments in.
I got extended coverage for my vehicle from CARCHEX because it has a lot of mileage on it. I inquired twice before I bought my protection plan. Once I said, "Okay, thank you for the information," the first sales guy was fine with that. But the second sales guy called me on a regular basis, which was annoying because it was my cellphone number that I use for work that he was using. I'm a surgeon and that cellphone is used as a call phone for people who have surgical problems or consultations. The second guy ended up getting the sale, which is sad because he was too pushy. But I needed coverage, so I went ahead and got the plan, but I wish I could have given the sale to the first salesperson who wasn't so annoying.
David ** was a pleasure to speak to. He answered all my questions and assisted me in making a great decision on which warranty would be best for me... It's hard to find great customer service nowadays but he is a great asset to your company. I will tell everyone to choose CARCHEX! Thanks again, David.
My car was getting a few miles on it so I researched on the internet and found Carchex to be at the top of the line for the type of insurance. I purchased the plan and it was very easy. I went and talked to a gentleman named Anthony and he's very informative. He presented the program and I told him that I'll think on it. He said that I go ahead and review the different packages and when I am satisfied, call him and we'll discuss. I did that and it took me a few days and we were able to put something he suggested and it worked out good for me and I'm satisfied with my choice. Being what things cost nowadays, the extended coverage will pay off for me because I want to keep my vehicle and I don't believe in buying a new car. I've bought four cars and after a year or two, I find out their value is so far down so I'm never doing that again since I figured there's no long-term value that way for me.
I knew that I needed an extended coverage for the car I have and since I had a friend that used CARCHEX and had great feedback, I decided to go for it. The representative I had was great. He was very knowledgeable, courteous, patient and helpful and allowed me to trust the company. He walked me through the process of filing a claim and handling the benefits, which seem pretty easy. So far my experience with CARCHEX was good.
I’m extending my warranty on my car, and so I purchased my plan from CARCHEX, which was an easy process. Their specialist was good and was able to attend to all of my questions. I’d recommend them.
I was near the end of my manufacturer warranty so I needed to get additional coverage for my vehicle. My experience with CARCHEX was good until the point where I finally was about to use the coverage and they had the wrong car listed. Then the sales rep had me cancel my plan and try to get it redone. He said, "You have to start over your coverage and you have to give us another down payment." It was the worst experience ever. He wasn't telling the management, which I requested to speak with, that he put in the wrong PIN number, and it was the wrong coverage on the wrong car so I had to start over my coverage. They lowered the monthly payment by $77, which was okay, but I shouldn't have to wait 30 days to use my coverage and pay another thousand dollars when it was their guy's error. Other than that, they were good.
My car to be without warranty is like putting my life at risk, in case anything happened. The money you pay doesn't matter, it's better for me to do the extended coverage. And I chose CARCHEX because the other ones are not extensive and CARCHEX matched my budget. The purchase process was faster because they called me back, and any time I try to get someone to talk to me, they talk to me and meet my needs directly. They answered my questions, and they sold me in three weeks time. I was satisfied with everything. I'm even telling people about it including my coworkers.
I'll try new vehicles, so I don't CARCHEX warranty anymore. They said the first 30 days, I should be able to get my money back. But if I had decided to keep my old vehicle, I would've went with CARCHEX. Their specialist who was working with me, Joe, was good, and I would recommend them.
It's been pretty good so far with Carchex and I recommend it.
I acquired an extended coverage from Carchex since my car is an expensive vehicle to maintain, so it's good to have something that reassures I have extra coverage which gives me peace of mind. My interaction with their car specialist was excellent. I had spoken to her a week before I actually purchased and she called me back when I had forgotten about the entire thing. She had all the information and had everything covered. All I had to do was give her the card number. Overall, Carchex is good to have due to the fact that they cover everything from towing, to the components of a vehicle, the engine and the deductible. It was an absolutely great experience.
I didn't have a warranty on my truck and while I was at the dealership one day, one of the guys recommended CARCHEX. Their specialist was a pleasant fellow and the protection plan can save me a lot of money.
I got my vehicle an extended coverage through CARCHEX for security. Their specialists were helpful and friendly.
A friend of mine has a CARCHEX and he told me how good they were, so I went with them. Purchasing the vehicle protection plan was very easy and I didn't have any problem with it. The specialist was easygoing, nice to talk to, and very pleasant. Having this plan is very valuable to me as I'll never know when something will happen, and if you don't have money to get it fixed, it is right there for you.
CARCHEX sent me a paper and my warranty went out, so I got their extended coverage. I haven't used it yet, but it's good so far. Having a value protection plan is really valuable instead of trying to pay a thousand or so dollars.
My experience with CARCHEX was good, and everything was fine. I would recommend them.
I got coverage for my vehicle from CARCHEX a few days ago. I researched on them and saw that they were one of the top warranty coverage providers. But I didn't like some of the answers that I've gotten from them, and that's why I tried to call and cancel my warranty today. Their sales rep kept hitting the fact that "We're listed # 1 by Better Business Bureau." Well, I know what the Better Business Bureau is about. You can buy your way in it. I read the results and feedback, and it looks like they did take care of some stuff. I don't believe all the people that complain were telling the truth, but they did get back to them.
I asked the sales rep who their adjusters were and he told me it was Assurance Solutions. I looked them up and didn't like what I saw. I had called and told them when I signed up for this that "I'm going to check this out," and the salesman said, "You have 30 days. No problem. You can get your money back." I called to cancel, and the sales rep went through the whole spiel again that they're #1. I said, "You told me I can cancel anytime I wanted to and I don't have to keep the warranty for the whole time." I thought I only had 30 days to decide and would be stuck for the total amount but I talked to the customer rep at the cancellation department who was nice and told me, "No, you can quit at any time. You only pay for the service that you got. If you quit in the middle of the month, it's pro-rated." So I decided to go ahead and keep it.
However, it bothers me that I can't get a hold of anybody. I called the vice president for public communications and left three messages for her over two days, and never got a call back. I also called the salesman and a couple of other numbers and didn't get any call back. If I can't get anybody to call me, then what's going to happen when I've got a claim? How am I going to get a claim settled? So I'm going to call the adjusters tomorrow and see how many adjusters call me back because if an adjuster doesn't call me back within a reasonable period of time, then something's wrong and I'm going to go ahead and cancel it because I don't want to go through some of the things that they're going to nitpick. But other than that, I'm going to give it a try.

I called CARCHEX then checked, tested it and thought it would be good for me. I did not encounter any problem with process of purchasing the protection plan. The protection specialist was informative and answered all my questions. I understand everything he was saying to me. The protection plan is extremely important because you never know what can go wrong with your car.

The lady I spoke with during my inquiry call was very informative, friendly, and a good conversationalist. She gave me good information and assured me that it would be in my best interest if I signed up with CARCHEX, so I went ahead and did that. The coverage would help me out if my motor and transmission goes out or something goes on with my car. And at $100-some a month, that's not bad.
I had an incident where my transmission went out and I found out that the existing warranty that I had had already gone over the miles. Purchasing CARCHEX was easy to get done. They answered my questions and everything was clear, and I've already received my information in the mail. The specialist was very professional, and he helped me a lot. I would recommend them.
Having a vehicle protection plan is valuable and I would recommend CARCHEX.
I live in Wisconsin and work in Minnesota. We have bad winters up here, and I have an older car, so I'd better be safe than sorry. Purchasing the CARCHEX vehicle protection plan was a very easy process, and the specialist I spoke to was excellent. Having the plan is highly valuable for me.
We’re at 98,000-plus miles and our warranty expires in 100,000 so we looked into getting an extended coverage. We did our Google searches for consumer reports, went through all those investigations, and then got some estimates from competitors then decided to go with CARCHEX. We have our policy in hand and we're very happy at this point. We haven't had to use it but we were very pleased with the ease of acquisition, and what CARCHEX were willing to cover.
We’re also very happy with fact that the policy is transferable because we plan on selling the vehicle, which is in excellent condition, over the next year, since we’re getting our last daughter out to college. We’re going to hang on to it for one more year and working to make it with the miles, to provide us the security if something goes wrong with the car.
My car warranty already expired, so I looked into getting extended coverage for my vehicle, and so I purchased the warranty from CARCHEX, which was a very easy process. Their protection specialist was very thorough and professional. I’d recommend them.
I wanted to get extended coverage for my vehicle because all I had was 60,000 miles warranty. I saw another coverage provider but they were a little steep on the monthly payments. Then I looked again, came across an email from CARCHEX, checked it out, and liked the price they were offering so I decided to go with them. Their protection specialist was great and very helpful. He let me know what the coverage was and let me decide if I wanted it or not. I appreciated him breaking everything down for me so I will understand. So, overall, I had a great experience with CARCHEX.
I feel the product is more convenient and can help others.
Signing up with CARCHEX was easy. The man I talked to walked me through the whole thing. He said that if something goes wrong with my car, example the motor broke, he'd take it to a place and they'd have it fixed. It'll only cost me $108. When I asked what the catch was, he said, "There is no catch. We're here to save you money and make sure you don't have a hard time with your car if anything happens." I said "Okay. So that means I got to walk for a while?" But he said that if my car's in the shop, they'd give me another car to get around until my car got out of the shop. I asked if that would cost me extra money and he said "Nope." He added that if I'd be in their program, he'd be saving me $500. I agreed and asked how much it'd cost me. He said, "Ain't nothing going to cost you but $121 and some change so we'll just round that off to $122." I said, "That will work" and signed up with them. I will tell others to go and check them out.
I bought a used truck and, like everything used, there could be some major issue that would come up, so I got CARCHEX to help subsidize the cost of a major repair. I spoke with the gentleman who gave me all the options and I had about a day to choose which plan I was interested in. The purchase was straightforward and I got the quote in time. Having this extended warranty is very valuable for me because it helps cut half the cost of doing repairs.
I looked into having a vehicle protection plan for a used car I purchased for my daughter. She's going to college and having it mitigates the risks and I could stop worrying while my daughter is driving the car. Purchasing the vehicle protection plan from CARCHEX was pretty straightforward, and the protection specialist was able to thoroughly assist me and answer all my questions. Luckily, I had the VIN because none of the websites or anything indicated what I would need to place the call. I would not have purchased it if I had to call back. I hope having the plan is worth it.
The only thing I still have a question to, and I'm waiting for a response, is that I am still unsure of the cancellation policy for the insurance claim. It's not highlighted in the package nor on the website, and it wasn't brought up during the conversation. So I got a little confused. But outside of that, I am pleased with the experience so far. I would recommend CARCHEX to a friend.

I bought a vehicle protection plan from Carchex for the vehicle I bought for my son. I want to make sure that if something was wrong with it, it will be covered. The warranty is necessary especially for somebody going to college. The salesperson from Carchex was very nice and did everything quickly. It was a great experience.
CARCHEX policy suited me better than other companies I had researched. And the person I spoke to was very helpful.
I bought a used vehicle and I needed an extended coverage for it. Purchasing a protection plan from CARCHEX was easy and the protection specialist was polite. I've received the email and got an order confirmation. It spells everything out, however, I'm old-fashioned and I haven't received anything in paper form. I'm not certain if it's on its way but he said that I was going to get something. Nonetheless, I'd recommend them to a friend.
For my peace of mind, I decided to get extended coverage for a car my wife drives because of the age of the vehicle. The car had a previous policy with CARCHEX that expires on the tenth of this month. I already have service with them, plus the fact that I saw a lot of write-ups about them and their ratings in the BBB, so I decided to go for them again.
It was a little difficult purchasing the vehicle protection plan because I didn't realize that there were so many different plans that they could offer. They deal with a number of different insurance companies which offer different plans for different rates, and that was a little frustrating and confusing. The biggest problem was that it was hard for me to figure out what was or wasn't covered in these policies. Also, I think part of the problem is that although their protection specialists answered all of my questions, one of the guys I had been working with either quit or was fired. So I was pushed over to another one and it was just like starting the process all over again.
At one point, I told them I wanted to go with Warranty Direct instead. The representative, Leon, was pretty good but he couldn't authorize a lot of things so he put me on with his supervisor. All of a sudden, he had all these discounts that he could offer in order to keep my business, such as loyalty customer points, manager discount points, and a $200 reimbursement at the end. They didn't tell me that all upfront to reduce the price of the policy. They were just trying to get it down then so that I would still go with them. That felt shady and it lessened my thoughts regarding the CARCHEX.
We also had a situation wherein when I first contacted them, the car had 76,000 miles on it. When I contacted them again, it had 80,000 miles on it, but I didn't get anybody to call me back. Four or five months later, I contacted them again and now the car had 86,000 miles. I was then told that I can't get premium coverage, the bumper-to-bumper kind, any time the miles go over 85,500. My car had 85,046 miles on it so it just seems a little odd that everybody else kept saying they're gonna give it to me and just when I was getting ready to pay for it, I can't do it - all of a sudden, it's right at the break point of 86,500. When it was time for me to pull out my credit card, they came back and said that they made a mistake and that they can’t give that to me. I don’t know whether that’s good or bad, or if that was just an oversight on the company. But it seemed shady because they didn’t tell me that upfront.
BMW had been bugging me about getting an extended warranty and I still have a year and a half warranty with them. They wanted to keep the price lower. They're at 25,000 miles and CARCHEX does 30. So I went with CARCHEX because I didn't want a double coverage on my pocket bike. So far, it's been good with them.
You never know when something's gonna happen to your vehicle and sometimes you don't have the money to get it done right then and there. Like when I spent a lot of money on my other car and I lost it all in an accident when I got hit from behind, and the insurance company wouldn't cover it and so I got an extended coverage. I feel better and safer with CARCHEX. Their specialists made a lot of sense. I'd definitely recommend them.
I signed up with CARCHEX and it was easy. Their staff answered all my questions which was good. Getting a vehicle protection plan is very valuable because you'll never know when you'll need it.
I bought a vehicle a year and a half ago, and it can't be without warranty. Having a vehicle protection plan is pretty valuable since car repairs are expensive nowadays. Purchasing a vehicle protection plan from CARCHEX was a pretty easy process, and the protection specialist was good. I recommend them. It's been good so far.
My warranty had just expired on my vehicle and I had used CARCHEX before with my daughter's car so I got another extended coverage from them. The purchase with CARCHEX was very simple. I called in and the guy was very pleasant and gave me the different packages available. He told me about all of the coverage and what was required, how the process works in getting repairs done and about the payment plans. It was a good experience. Having a vehicle protection plan is very important and I would recommend CARCHEX.
As far as the service and the representatives, CARCHEX was great. They gave me good information on the things that I was and wasn’t covered and they had discount for the customer so that was a plus too. Terrance did a lot of following on the calls and he told me how very important it is to be covered with the extended protection, and so I have to give him a thumbs up on that. I would recommend them.
We purchased an extended coverage from Carchex because we wanted to make sure we were covered in case something happens to our 11 year old vehicle. Vehicle protection plan is extremely valuable that's why we always have them on the vehicles that we have. The specialist we spoke with from Carchex was good and explained everything, and called me back when he said he was going to. He was right there and thoroughly assisted me. It was a great experience all the way around. I'd absolutely recommend Carchex.
Everything went very smoothly and very professional when I purchased the extended warranty from CARCHEX. Their protection specialist was a very pleasant person and I'm satisfied with the transaction. I would highly recommend them.
I have a Volvo that I love and it got 150,000 miles on it. I couldn't find any warranty extended coverage, so I got on the web and found CARCHEX. I saw the process out, was very pleased and made the deal. They were professional and I would recommend them.
Robbie ** was so pleasant and kind. He answer all my questions. I would recommend him to anybody who needs extended warranty on their car.
I was extremely pleased with the agent, Jeff, who waited patiently for me to be available to provide the needed info to complete the contract. He was wonderful!
Getting an insurance from CARCHEX was easy. The information was online and the salesperson I talked to was well-informed so it was an easy decision to sign up with them when I got all the facts together. Also, my original warranty had expired about a year ago and having an extended warranty is valuable. I know that in years past I’ve had the extended warranty protection – it certainly paid off on one vehicle. Insurance is insurance, and I usually don’t carry it on appliances or electronics. But my cars are technical. I haven’t had any problems with them in the past, but I like to have the insurance in place. Being a major investment, it’s well-worth insuring it for things that might come up.
Our mile coverage ran out so I purchased an extended coverage plan from Carchex and the process was very easy. Everything went fine.
I went with CARCHEX because of their customer service rating online. The process was very easy and the representative was amazing because he kept calling me back though I was busy. I’d say, “Call me back tomorrow at 10:00 because I’m busy at work,” and he’d call me back the next day at 10:00 religiously. He was absolutely helpful in explaining everything.
I have an expensive car and I know I can't afford its maintenance so I looked into acquiring an extended coverage for it. Purchasing a vehicle protection plan from CARCHEX was good and their people treated me nicely.
CARCHEX went well for us and I would recommend them to a friend.
I was buying a used car with high mileage. I went through Consumer Reports and they gave CARCHEX one of their highest ratings. I purchased it and it was easy. They were very patient. I talked to TJ and he was very easygoing as if he wasn't trying to sell anything. My wife drives the car and knowing that the vehicle is taken care of if there's a problem is comforting.
It was easy to purchase from CARCHEX. The protection specialist was very helpful answering questions and letting me know what was being covered, the cost and breakdown. I would recommend them to a friend.
Personally I think your $3000 more than the other companies that have offered me the same coverage, same deductible in the same waiting. The others were 800 to thousand dollars for the same coverage -- five years, hundred thousand mile warranty.
Pretty easy transaction. David ** was wonderful!
I did some extensive research on extended vehicle protection plans and companies, and I must say, CARCHEX really did everything they could to earn my business. Even discounting my plan because another competitor had made an offer for a cheaper rate with them. I contacted several companies and got several quotes, but CARCHEX definitely earned my business. I obviously haven't had file any claims and use the plan, and honestly, I hope I don't have to. But in the event I do, I will comment about how that goes.
Jason was precise in his explanation but was not pushy. Thank you for being so caring and understanding.
I was very please that the person that helped me with the purchase of the extended warranty was knowledgeable, and professional. There were no scare tactics, just facts about the policy. He was able to answer all my questions and seem genuinely pleased to help me. I am hoping that if and when I have a claim they will be easy to work with.
I enjoyed working with Anthony **. He was very professional and informative. He's not pushy but stays in touch and relates very well.
I would and have recommended this to several of my coworkers and family.
Carchex has resolved my claim to my satisfaction. The VP contacted me directly to apologize and resolve all of my issues. Apparently, Carchex works with a sister company who is the one that was handling my claim to my dissatisfaction.
Once Carchex themselves became involved, the process went very quickly and smoothly. I received a rental car on Saturday and I will be picking up my own car later today.
We bought our warranty over two years ago. We took our car to the repair shop (Ford) and were advised of the needed repairs. When Ford contacted Carchex they were told to wait for an adjuster to come and authorize the repairs. The adjuster came two days later on Wed. Ford called Carchex on Friday and were told that someone would be in touch with them later that day. On Monday, Carchex still had not contacted Ford. I called Carchex and was advised that Ford would be contacted before 5 pm that day. Ford wasn't contacted until Tuesday.
I tried to get a rental car. I was told that they wouldn't pay for one until repairs had been authorized, which took 9 days. It has now been 12 days and still no rental car. This company is extremely slow and hard to deal with. The customer service is a joke. Carchex requires the repair facility to contact them multiple times and wait on hold over 30 minutes each time. Carchex is supposed to have rentals set up through Enterprise. Yet, I have gotten the runaround and still have no car. Would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.
I purchased the Sentinel Plan 2 months ago, on my way to work my car started but wouldn't move. I called CarChex Direct and it took about an hour, but they had my SUV towed to the shop of my choice. 8 days later I have a rebuilt trans and transfer case and fixed drive train.
Jay ** was my helping hand at covering my vehicle at the lowest possible price. My experience with Carchex has been super. My coverage took care of all needs. Extended coverage is very important for the future of this vehicle. When time come for purchasing a new car I'll definitely be using CARCHEX.
As of today I haven't received any correspondence of what I purchased. Where's the contract?

Never told me I couldn't drive this vehicle for work and now you won't cover my vehicle repairs when I PayPal payments and I've done everything I needed to do, at least pay half.

Rodney ** is amazing. He was so good to deal with. That's 99.9% reason I bought this & didn't shop around or give anyone else the time or chance to sell me a warranty. Very very good person to talk to & was very thorough & will recommend everyone to him.
Rodney was great and very detailed with the contract.
My salesman was Robby **, and he was awesome. He was fun to talk to and he made everything so smooth and easy. I've Heard a lot about CARCHEX from friends.. And I must say the reviews are great.. I'm recommending it to everyone I know!!
Everyone I spoke with was very nice.
Respectful of my desires. Clear and fair.
It has been a pleasure working with Carchex. I felt as though I was a welcome customer and truly wanted.
Thank once again for reaching out to me and family for coverage!
Great attitude, polite, helpful!
He is very professional and courteous. It was a pleasure talking to him.
Kate made my buying experience excellent. If making a claim is half as enjoyable then this will be a great partnership. She made the terms and coverage easy to understand. She even went out of her way to help me find out that GMC had recalled a major component on my car. I want to deal with Kate for everything!
I had a very good experience with my representative. He wanted to create conversation and build a good relationship with those he was servicing, it appeared. I appreciated the Carfax, etc. credentials located on your website to guide me to a reputable company. I also appreciated his honesty regarding my credit card security.
Jeffery was excellent!!! GREAT SERVICE.
Customer service wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I'd say the pricing is a little high, and it would be nice to see the quotes online instead of having to wait for someone to call you.
The person who I talked to was courtesy and helpful to my needs.
I found my representative very to be helpful, and he made the process very easy. I love the service.
Customer service resource was simply terrific. No other warranty company provided the service that I needed.
Kenny was very helpful with the coverage. Thank you for the help.
It was a pleasure hearing Mr. ** explaining the process to acquire a warranty extension added to my newly acquired vehicle. Makes me feel cared for. Thank you for such wonderful attention. Looking forward to dealing with your company for this matter.
I called and ordered an inspection through CARCHEX on Monday 7/20 and was told it would be complete in 2-3 business days. I had to follow up with them on that Wednesday as my dealer hadn't heard from them. While speaking with the customer service representative, who was extremely rude, she told me they only had a fax number for the dealer. After correcting the information, I asked her why they didn't call me back to correct the issue and she became extremely short with me and only responded "we will update the inspector with the new number".
The inspection finally happened on the morning of July 23rd but I had to call CARCHEX again on the morning of the 24th to get the results of the inspection. I was told that they had received the inspection and were waiting on it to be reviewed internally before sending it to me and they didn't have any time frame they would have it ready. 10 minutes after ending my call with them I received the inspection in my email. I will always use an inspection service when buying a used car or truck but I will never use CARCHEX again.
Ms. ** was very helpful and professional in every way, she explained my policy and answered any questions I had about my coverage.
I usually don't purchase stuff by phone. The sales persons (Joseph **) really knew his stuff. Every concern and question I had he was able to answer. Usually they just have a script that they read to you, but this guy was talking to me like a friend would. I had heard of the company before and at first I was apprehensive, but Joseph really sold it for it. What a pleasant experience and the coverage is great too.
Auto Warranty Titanium Package 60,000 miles. Representative online was courteous and kept in touch with me via phone and online quotes for 2 months until I was ready to purchase package. He answered all of questions promptly and courteously. I did contact other auto warranty companies online and no other company ever called or emailed me a quote. I am very impressed with the customer service of this company.
I called your center just to inquire about some warranty options and was very pleased with the service I received from Roosevelt. He was wonderful to work with. I appreciate how he explained all of the options to me. I would recommend Roosevelt to anyone and everyone.
James ** was great during the sale but shows no concern after. He neither answers messages or phone calls. In fact I am waiting for him to acknowledge my mileage correction and send me an updated brochure and that has not yet happened. If I don't get a reply within the next 24 hours, I will take my business elsewhere. I don't like feeling like a second class citizen.
I am very happy with my experience with CARCHEX. Dave was very helpful, courteous and patient with me. I would them a very high recommendation to anyone.
Agent Philo was very helpful and polite and knowledgeable of what I needed.
I must say Mr. Ira ** was awesome explaining to me about this policy.
Excellent experience. Plans explained in detail. No high pressure. Jefferson ** initiated and handled the transaction very professionally. Went with Carchex because of its A+ BBB rating. Just signed up so I cannot comment on claim handling aspects, but BBB's customer reviews were good.
Jason was very polite. I was very happy with his character... I was drinking the first time he call me. I ask for him to call back and he did.
Sharon ** took care of problem promptly. Thank you!
Been a week. Still have not received package.
Joseph was a big help. The first representative who assisted me did not take my account information down correctly and caused the warranty coverage to never begin. Joseph straightened the issue out and then applied the coupon still.
Aloha. I had problem with auto pay acc. as Grandson lost card and I had to change #. Forgot I had auto pay. I received a letter from you a week before due. I called everyday and was switched to financial dept. I was put on hold for over 45 min every time till I hung up. Then Rodney called. I was ready to just cancel. What if I had a car repair company calling you? Do you think they would wait? Rodney reassured me you were a good company. Rodney was so understanding, helped me get it done fast, as I was late for an appt. He made sure he took a deep breath and read me all the required stuff as clearly and fast as he could and made sure I understood, and would make sure I did.
You are very lucky to have him as an employee and working with the public! Never did he seem bothered or annoyed... And I was. It calmed me down and made me want to stay with this company! My only hope is, if I do ever have a problem and need a repair facility to call you, they don't get put on hold for an hour! I don't want to see their face when I say I have CARCHEX! AND I COULD HAVE GOTTEN a better deal with another company for more miles etc. Linda **, please give Rodney ** a big "THANK YOU!" from me.
I thought your sales person, Ken ** was knowledgeable about the product he was selling. I purchased the warranty but felt the price was way too high and then to add to my financial discomfort the warranty doesn't even start for 30 days or 1000 miles after I said "yes I'm buying." I live on a fixed income so paying the high cost for the product doesn't sit too well.
I'm sorry to hear about your experience with CARCHEX. I'd like to help. Please call me directly at 877.227.2439 ext 1491 so I can rectify the situation immediately. We value our customers and want you to have a positive experience from beginning to end. I look forward to speaking with you soon and having the opportunity to make things right.
The salesman Mr ** is a very professional guy. I highly recommend him across the board in what he says and does. He's very patient. Again, very professional and very knowledgeable about the business he does and he very understanding in explainable about what are you getting and what you to expect. Again, Mr ** hats off to you young man and may God bless you on this journey. You have a great future ahead of you.
Very good customer service experience.
Excellent experience. Dan explained everything thoroughly and took the time to help me understand the value in the warranty.
I have spoke to the lady, she said that she will send me a package and it's been how many days I haven't got nothing. What is the hold up?
Hello, I'm sorry to hear about your experience with CARCHEX. I'll reach out to you now to get this resolved. I'll email you a digital version of your contract now, and follow up with the welcome packet which generally takes between 10 -14 days to arrive. It looks like you purchased the policy on 7/1/15. If it doesn't arrive in the next few days, please let me know. Either way, I'm here to help! My number is 877.227.2439 ext 1491 if you have any other questions or concerns. I'll call you now to confirm your address and get this rectified immediately. Thanks!
Kenny **: Hands down he is the best I have ever worked with. This is the 3rd car that I bought an aftermarket warranty for. He is very knowledgeable and honest. Fast responses. You won't be disappointed with his services. His # is ** carchex ext **.
Purchased air filter. I am very pleased with the ease of this transaction.
The agent was very helpful, courteous and very knowledgeable. Making sure all my questions are answered accurately without sugarcoating anything. I hope that if ever something goes wrong that the claim process is as good as the sale part.
I am pleased with the response to my request for auto repair over the computer. I still would like to know what the tax is on the monthly payments?
I'm sorry to hear you still have some questions regarding the policy. I'll reach out to you now and help get you squared away. Thanks! - Sharon Resnick
I'm completely impressed with your company and how quick I received a budget friendly quote! I'm excited about the loyalty program. Kudos to Terence ** for being patient, courteous, answering all of my questions and making this an easy, professional, and fun experience! I will most definitely recommend this company to friends and family!
** was outstanding and very thorough. His follow up was impeccable and made the difference in my selecting Carchex over Endurance even though Endurance was less expensive for equal coverage.
** was very helpful and guided us through for the best coverage. His demeanor and assistance was one of the factors for our purchase.
I would like to thank ** for being patience and very understanding with me. He never gave up on getting me started with a fair and reasonable plan that fit right into my budget. Thanks ** for everything and keep up the good work.
Car warranty. A great overall experience!
My experience was very satisfactory. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and understood what my needs were and fit me into the right plan. It was very easy to navigate the site. I would definitely recommend CARCHEX to family and friends.
My customer care agent named **. I call him that because he really did an outstanding job of taking care of me and making me feel comfortable in purchasing the warranty for my car!!! For the price and the customer service, Carchex is the BEST!!!
** was very professional, diligent and patient. He offered me several plans and worked with me to find one I could comfortably afford. He was persistent without being pushy and very respectful and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him.
My previous contract was through Ford Motor. Unbeknownst to me the contract had expired 3 days before my air conditioner stopped working. Repair cost $894.14. I had received no notice the warranty was expiring. The dealership attitude was, "Sorry about your luck". ** with Carchex listened patiently to my tirade then graciously helped me pick out a suitable plan. He was professional as well as personable. It was a good experience dealing with ** and Carchex.
My agent ** was very informative and clear in everything, making it very easy for me. I can tell he loves what he does just by the way he refer to the company and the numbers of people that are satisfied. He didn't have no problem repeating and explaining things to me that have a little problem with the language. Also he make sure he gave me all his information in case I have any future problems.
I received great, professional customer service with ** as I purchased an extended warranty for my 2008 CLS550 Mercedes!
Easy great service.
I contacted CARCHEX and ** was assigned to me. I have to tell you, ** was amazing. He was patient with me and answered all my questions promptly. He supplied me with a copy of the policy that I was anticipating purchasing. I took the policy to my dealership and had them look it over as well as telling me any problems they had with CARCHEX which were none. I got back in touch with ** and we set up my purchase. As I said, ** is amazing.
It's a great warranty. I will recommend this to anyone.
My agent ** did a great job helping me. What I would have liked to have is a place where I could view the available coverage before making any decisions. What I had to go on was what I was being told. Then having to make that decision right then and make the first payment was a little unsettling. I hope I have not made a mistake by purchasing this contract. There is no way for me to preview what I am buying.
Thank you for all the great help insuring that my vehicle will be around for the long haul! Your service was very complete and very helpful! Easy to get signed up. I was dreading having to go through this process when my other warranty ran out but it was really easy! Thanks.
Before I even completed the request for a quote my phone was ringing... Freaky fast response. Your representative was never pushy, just stated the facts and answered my questions. Price was half of what VW dealership quoted. How could I say no?
Good communication. Your representative was quite knowledgeable.
Haven't had the chance or needed to use the warranty. But hope it's not a big hassle when or if I do use it.
My sales rep ** was very prompt in getting me to sign up for coverage. Now I find myself with 2 insurance policies which I don't need. I would be most happy to entertain your business, but ** was kind of "PUSHY" and I was tired after a days work. I guess my responsibility is to eliminate your policy after the first month. ** never returned my calls so I'll chalk off the first month's payment as "tuition". Please cancel the balance of my policy. I may contact you again when I decide to buy a new car.
I had the best experience with **. He was completely professional and well educated on the product (warranty). ** made my transaction run smoothly without any hiccups. He was patient with me while I got my father's information to process the payment to set up my warranty account. I am excited to have him as my personal account manager/agent. Keep up the great work **. ;)
I have spoken with **. He gave me a price and that is the price -- very happy. No down payment, which means Carchex is a serious company. Other companies want a downpayment??? 3 yrs or 36k miles. I know that I am in good hands. I have spoken with my Mercedes dealer and he also gave a good report. Well, I would like to thank all at Carchex.
My first telephone impression of the company reflected by Mr. ** was very favorable. He was courteous, to the point and informative in laying out the available options for my Extended Auto Service Warranty. I am waiting for the welcome package in the mail which was sent out, hopefully it will arrive next week. In looking over the contract, I am sure everything will be as he stated and the contract will continue as indicated for the next 3 years.
My setup was quick and easy.
I was very pleased with how the representative handled herself and was very professional. She took the time to repeat the information and explain the program in its entirety. I would recommend Carchex to anyone looking for auto warranties.
I feel ** helped out a great deal. I think the service as it was presented to me was wonderful and a big relief.
After having a previous BMW which I purchased an extended warranty on and never used (I only had one problem on that vehicle which was not covered by the warranty) I was debating whether or not I really needed an extended warranty on my 2008 BMW 335i after the factory warranty expired. After reading other owners experiences I decided it was best to purchase the extended warranty and after a lot of research online and comparing price/coverage/reviews, I decided to go with CARCHEX.
The warranty was not cheap but I purchased the 5 year/up to 100,000 mile warranty and was extremely thankful that I did. As much as I loved the car and as fun as it was to drive, the car ended up being a nightmare when it came to repairs. I had a number of high expense repairs (AC compressor unit, leaking fuel injectors, cracking/worn strut mounts etc) that were all covered by CARCHEX. I took my car to the local BMW dealer for every repair and they dealt directly with CARCHEX without me having to do any leg work. The amount of money I saved by having the warranty more than covered 3-4 times the cost of the warranty. I would certainly purchase a warranty again from them as long as the coverage is the same, especially if I were to own another German or high repair cost vehicle.
Spencer from CARCHEX helped me for claim I was refunded for $218. I hope in future i don't go into so much hassles as the reason I bought CARCHEX was hassle free and peace of mind.
When I bought Carchex 2 yrs back they said they cover my Honda Odyssey automatic doors. ** said whatever part is not mentioned in exclusionary coverage is covered. Yesterday Mar 23 2015 I went to dealer for my automatic door not closing. They diagnosed central roller is worn out . They called Assurant. They asked, cost dealer said 70.16$. They said they will give 53.97$ then later they put on hold and said they don’t cover saying body part, and section 13 of contract. As matter of fact its not mentioned in section 13. Then today Mar 24 2015 I called Assurant. They said repair facility mentioned roller is plastic part, hence not covered.
This is ridiculous can automatic door or power windows work without roller? And all vehicles have roller made of plastic. This guys are fraud. I paid around 2100$ for this warranty. I repent over it as I listened to ** and cancelled Honda warranty and bought this crap. As matter of fact Honda cover this roller as part of warranty. I feel very cheated and nowhere to go as I have lost my money.
I usually do not write reviews or complaints. I believe that Karma is the best solution in bad business situations that will correct itself out in get bad in - get bad out sort of matter. Nevertheless, this is one of those instances where one has to stand up and say something. I have purchased the extended car warranty from Carchex. Before my current warranty expired I did some research and it sounded like I found a good deal. I am the kind of customer that would rather pay a bit more to get exceptional service than pay less and receive average. In this case the price wasn’t cheap but wasn’t expensive compared to the other companies when it came to package deals - 3 years, 4800 miles covered, and just over $6000.
I have to mention that I have an Audi S5 2009, which is a German sport oriented coupe that I take to certified dealer for the repairs. There I have a certified car advisor that knows the history of my vehicle repairs and takes a great care of me as a valued customer. Granted, this costs pretty penny, but, that’s why I have purchased an extended warranty with the cost of just over $6000. Furthermore I have been customizing cars for over 10 years now. Therefore one could say that I am not a typical customer that knows nothing of mechanical works.
Right, as I was, before purchasing the warranty I have contacted the Carchex and spoke to their rep. Then let my car advisor speak to them describing the car history and what we would need from the car warranty. The other words we were thorough when it came to coverage and what’s being covered. After the phone call all was determined and compared to the in house dealer warranty by me and my advisor, which turned out to have the same attributes in the package yet was $2000 higher in the price. Making our selection simple - Carchex and they’re the second from the top package, that Carchex rep just described to us on the phone. In the description of the package Carchex rep assured us that all mentioned by my car advisor mechanical issues will be taken care off. All sounded dandy and I gave my credit number for purchase.
Two months later I have taken my car for service and engine check light. I got more then I expected in the repair estimate, but not to worry - I have a brand new save proof Carchex warranty! I was wrong. What I did have, in fact, was a bill that wasn’t going to be covered by Carchex. As we found out after my advisor called in the repair to Carchex. Among few things that were wrong and needed fixing was fuel injectors, that previously were malfunctioning and were replaced a year in a half ago. Granted, all eight of them were malfunctioning now. And were costing a lot to repair. Among other repairs was an oil leek with replacement of valve cover and oil pan gasket as well as damaged bottom car cover with exposed positive cable that needed to be replaced: SUB TOTAL $6,073.75.
None, not even an oil leak was covered by this warranty. This didn’t make any sense, since we went over the details of the arrangement and my advisor was on the phone describing all the possible details needed of coverage as I was standing right next to him listening to the conversation before purchasing this warranty. Among which were fuel injectors, specifically! I phoned in the company and, as I now know from other screwed customers, I was given a run around of transfer calls, office hour closings early and so on. Finally, as my car has been in the shop for close to one week, I have reached the right person in customer department. She assured me, that it was impossible that their rep would promise us the repairs that now are not covered by the warranty. Granted, of course, I insisted that they should double check.
Since I wasn’t the one inquiring but rather my certified car advisor, as I was standing next to him listening, who made sure he went over all the possible fixes that we might need before selecting and purchasing the package. Then, to clarify, I made a conference call between the customer service rep and my car advisor, who backed up my story and advocated on his behalf that he did, in fact, went over the fixes that were now are not covered somehow. To that we got a series of disagreements from Carchex and promises that they will listen to their recordings of the phone conversations between their rep and my car advisor and will get back to us.
Final chapter. After few days I got in touch with a customer rep who wasn’t sounding very sure for some reason. As it was, she brought bad news - the Carchex would not cover the repairs, however, they were willing to issue me a full refund which after two months of services was not much. When I asked why my claim wasn’t covered, the very same story was given - the package does not cover these repairs.
When I asked if they listened to the recording of their rep promising us the repairs that are not covered by the package - “Yes, we did”, I heard in reply. “And, what did the recording said? Can my car advisor and I listen to it?” I asked. Your advisor, “No, you as a customer can. Please hold.” Moments later, after being on hold “We can not release that information.” I was in disbelief. “What do you mean?” I almost raised my voice. “Moments ago you said I can listen to the recording and now you saying I can’t?” “Yes, the best we can do is to refund your money. We will only release the recording if there is a subpoena to court.”
Second instant happened as my car was still at the shop and mechanics discovered that my intake manifold needed to be replaced. It was spelled out clearly that this part was covered under my contract in their pamphlet that I received in the mail. So finally I got their rep to come over to dealership evaluate the repair. This time I got denied due to having after market springs on my car. So you understand - I GOT DENIED IN WARRANTY ON MY ENGINE BECAUSE MY SUSPENSION WAS LOWERED! I’ve different cars that have been modified with dealer warranties, but even they have been reasonable and never denied me of coverage that are not related to modified part of the car. Long story short - I paid close to $10.000.00 in repairs. This company doesn’t do a good business. They are in the business to screw people.
Had a small knock at start up, went away when engine reached operating temperature. Took my car to Napleton Hyundai in West Palm Beach. They diagnosed as bad crankshaft bearings. Napleton took care of everything - no problems. Had a loaner through the entire repair. Total cost to me was $100 defy cable. Current warranty about to expire, going to take out another policy. Well worth the cost. It looks like people who gave bad reviews tried to use policy as soon as they took it out and were denied as pre-existing problem, make sense to me.
On or about August 28, 2014, I purchased Extended Vehicle Protection for a used 2004 Volvo S80 from A. **, a representative of the company. I've never purchased a warranty for a used car previously assuming that the system was rigged and major claims were likely never paid. My dealings with Carchex have confirmed by belief. The Vehicle Protection program provided that no claim was valid until the automobile was driven 1000 miles and 30 days had passed. Within that time period, I had to replace my radiator at a cost of $500 for which no claim was filed because I hadn't yet satisfied the warranty waiting period.
After my waiting period was complete, on or about November 17, 2014, my red warning light came on in the vehicle. By the following morning I took the vehicle to Eagle Transmission in Dallas, TX for repair. Scott, the owner, tore down the transmission and, after a few days, was able to get a contract inspector for Carchex and Royal Wesco (claim processor for Carchex) to inspect the transmission. The claim was subsequently denied by Royal Wesco and Carchex on the basis that the problem was a preexisting condition. Scott, owner of Eagle Transmission for 20 years plus, stated in writing that 'there is no way to determine at what mileage the failure occurred or what caused the wear." The repair was subsequently made at my cost for $3300.00. I contacted Brian (Bryan?), a manager at Carchex and was told that he would assist me in arbitration. Subsequent emails and phone calls to A. ** and Brian (Bryan) around December 1, 2014 have not been answered by either party.
I have purchased the auto extended warranty from Carchex one year ago. This is my first time actually having to use the warranty because of a transmission leak and oil leak. Based on the service level agreement and coverage, they are to cover all items that are not wear and tear. The total hours to repair the vehicle are 6.2 hours and Carchex only approved for 3.9 hours. Their explanation is they go by their standard national repair booking for this type of job, and not by the Manufacturer repair hour. I have a BMW, and how are they compare a Japanese or American vehicle repair time to a more sophisticated vehicle? I am now forced to pay the extra 2.3 hours or else I have to take the vehicle to a local mechanic for repair. During the contract signage process, I was informed by the salesperson that I am allowed to take the vehicle to any mechanic including dealer, and they will honor the type of repair as long as it is not wear and tear. Carchex had violate and breach the services contract agreement. I am now stuck almost half of the repair cost that Carchex supposed to pay. The Carchex salesperson told me one story, and in reality is a different story.
I bought a used 2003 Durango with 133k miles on it from my sister that was in good running condition. I immediately purchased a CarChex Warranty the following day. About a month and a half later I had the truck in for a tune up and oil change. The Mechanic at the small shop I took it to noticed a noise coming from the engine he didn't like. I asked him to investigate it and he said that the Head needed to be machined that there was a problem with the valve seat position. I asked him to fix it and he said $1100.00. I called Carchex, they denied the claim, said it was too soon, must be a preexisting condition that caused it. so fine, I paid outta pocket.
About a month later, I get another noise coming from the engine, but the truck is running fine. So I pack the family up and get on the road to NY to visit my parents. About 100 miles away, the truck starts to overheat. I quickly get off the highway and to a gas station so I can see what's going on. I had to have the truck towed, upper radiator hose busted. This time I send the truck to a Dodge dealership, figured it would be safer and since I have a warranty, I could trust that the repairs would be covered. How WRONG I was... The Motor is blown, fried piston. CarChex denied the claim, I ** and complain. They finally send an inspector out to look at the issue. He shows up, did a 5-min inspection and claims that once again, this was a preexisting condition. Actually he blamed it on lack of vehicle maintenance. He said that there was "sludge" in the motor and that was what caused the failure.
I have service records for the past 3 years for their vehicle which include regular oil changes and fluids being flushed among other things. I feel like I have been mislead and ripped off by this company. All they ever have to say to deny a claim is that it was caused by a preexisting condition, and who can prove it otherwise. They had no problem accepting my down payment and monthly payments, but I can't even get them to cover the tow bill. I spoke with a supervisor on the phone and he had the nerve to tell me that whenever you buy a used vehicle even with a warranty, you are responsible for the repairs to that vehicle. I told him that was why I purchased a vehicle warranty. Apparently I was wrong. I filed a complaint with the BBB and Consumer Affairs. My father cancelled his contract with CarChex because of this. I will make sure that everyone knows what a crappy, unprofessional bunch of liars this company is.
