Terminix Pleads Guilty To Assault In New Jersey Case
Terminix Settles with New Jersey
$759,000 NY Penalty

Rose of Frederica DE (02/05/08)
A technician from Terminix called me on the morning of 1/19/08 to ask if he could come do a treatment. I asked him if this was part of the contract we already had (Jan. 2007-Jan. 2008) and he said yes, that there was no charge for the service. Yesterday I received a bill for 78 from Terminix for this service. I called the office this morning; talked to Betsy. She said that the treatment was not covered under our contract but if we renewed it would be. I told her that I had not renewed the contract and that they should honor what the technician said and remove the charge.

Kathleen of Lake Peekskill, NY July 10, 2007

Kathleen of Lake Peekskill NY (07/10/07)

I have been calling Terminix for three months trying to close an account on a house that I sold in October 2006. They are still going to the house and charging me despite my numerous phone calls, and have put the account into collections while still adding new charges!

I have spent hours on the phone, made payments for services that I did not order, want, or need, and am still being charged for services on property I do not own. On top of this, I am drained and exasperated by the incompetence, double talk, and rudeness of the people representing this company.

Patricia of Middlebury, CT October 24, 2006

Patricia of Middlebury CT (10/24/06)
I signed up for a 1 year contract for general pest control in my newly constructed home. The service representative never showed up for my follow up service. I called to try and reschedule (three or four times) The phone representatives each time said that they would send someone out. No one ever showed. through Terminix's online customer service form I have requested a full refund of the amount that I paid up front.

Marianne of Staten Island, NY March 2, 2006

Marianne of Staten Island NY (03/02/06)
I signed up With Terminix in November 2004 because I had an ant infestation in my condo. The sales person delivered a beautiful sales pitch, I signed a one year contract and paid 500.00 up front. The salesperson explained that for one year Terminix will come to my home and service it every 3 months, if there is a problem I can call anytime to request a new service.

The salesman stressed that I am only signing up for one year. I initially wanted a one-time service, but he stated that I have to sign up for one year, since they do not offer a one time service. Terminix never informed me of when they would come to service my property. One time I found their notice on the door. I called them back to request service inside my home, since i still had ants.

I called their 1800 number, they referred me to a local branch, I called a local branch and had to leave a message. after 2 weeks they contacted me, however they would not service me on the days that I was available. I was extremely dissatisfied, I considered my money wasted and in december 2005 I called to make sure that the contract is cancelled. The representatives gave me a run around: i was told that the person who can cancel my contract is not available, and that they will contact me when they can. In february 2006 I got a bill from Terminix, saying I now owe them money for a new year.

I called them back and explained the situation. They are refusing to cancel the new charge. They are referring me from one person to another, they are arrogant and defensive. I asked about their "100 % satisfaction or money back"  that they advertised, but they refuse to give me an answer as to how to pursue this matter.
