When you purchase from Tempur-Pedic or an authorized dealer, the warranty covers the mattress for 10 years, which is as long as traditional mattresses are typically expected to last. The Arthritis Foundation recommends Tempur-Pedic products based on evaluations by users, which makes the company a strong choice for those with joint pain.

Well - I had always heard how amazing Tempur-Pedic was and so I talked my husband into buying one. We bought a high end, rhapsody breeze in a king size... spent $5000 on it. At first it was super hard... we did buy the firm one but it took a really long time to break in and be comfortable. It also smelled like hell for the first two weeks. Once it broke in, it was pretty good - until it started to sag. My husband's size (for reference he's 6'2" and 180 or so - not a heavy guy at all) has a giant dip in it, to the point that I can't even switch sides with him because I feel like I'm going to roll off. So I naively thought - no big deal, we have a warranty! It will be fine! It's annoying to have to deal with breaking in a new smelly mattress but at least we didn't spent $5000 on a piece of junk.

Alas, contacting customer service was horrendous experience... I was told to find some number that is virtually impossible to find on the mattress (b/c it weighs a million pounds) and then fill out some long idiotic form AND of course most importantly, get a picture of the problem. A PICTURE of a SAG in the mattress... which is of course IMPOSSIBLE to do. Needless to say, I was never able to get a picture that showed anything... and we continue to sleep on this cruddy overpriced mattress - it's an expensive lesson - learn from ours and pass.

Terrible customer service. I bought a 4K bed from them 6 months ago. The remote broke and is covered under warranty. I reported it 6 weeks ago and still no remote. I have called them 16 documented times without any solution! I've left 3 messages with the office of the President and still nothing. I highly recommend a different bed purchase with better customer service! Steer clear.

We bought our Tempur-Pedic RHAPSODY BREEZE MATTRESS, June 2015. This is the most uncomfortable $6,500.00 mistake I have ever in my life made. My Hardwood floors & couch are more comfortable than mattress. I hate & dread when it is BEDTIME cause I have to try & sleep on the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever in my life tried to sleep on.

When I go on vacation It's pretty bad that we sleep better In Hotel/Condo Bed, can get right out of bed feeling good, then when we go home from vacation, we have to sleep on our want to be MATTRESS, it's very depressing. We have to sit on edge of bed in the mornings for a min. or so and try to get our bodies moving, we are very active, but find it very hard to get moving after a horrible nights (so called rest). I wouldn't waste your money on these expensive mattress, they're not what it's cracked up to be. My 20 plus year old mattress was 100% comfortable than well... VERY UNHAPPY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER.

After several attempts to obtain warranty service, we gave up. We kept getting referred back and forth between the retail outlet and Tempur-Pedic, with neither one accepting responsibility. Product quality and customer service are abysmal.

I first bought my Tempur-Pedic 17 years ago because a pillow top bed we had recently bought was hurting my neck and mid back. I called Tempur-Pedic within the first few days because I hurt worse than I had on the pillow top mattress. They said to give it two weeks, so I did. I slept deeply than I ever had before BUT with intense neck/shoulder/back pain. I began seeing a chiropractor regularly, changed pillows every 2-3 months, but nothing helped. I have seen doctors throughout the years about the pain, had many blood tests run, all to be told there was nothing wrong with me.

In recent years I thought it was related to my blood sugar, so I cut out sugar. That didn't change anything. In the last 9 years, I have battled pain in my veins, skin soreness, and could barely walk the first few minutes of rising each morning and had hip-joint pain and pain in my knees and feet. I began to think there was some disease in my body that no one could find. I have lost weight to see if that would help. No.

About a month ago, we bought a new bed for my daughter and decided to try a pillow top bed again for ourselves. I hurt worse on that bed, but we could not take it back because of a liquidation sale with no returns. I began sleeping on my daughter's regular, no-frills bamboo mattress with a 2-inch foam topper and slept much better with decreasing neck and back pain. Last night I slept on the Tempur-Pedic again just to see if this 17-year-long experiment proved accurate, and I rose barely able to walk, with skin soreness and pain from neck to tailbone and hip-joint pain. Now to shop for another bed. Again. Frustrated!

I received my replacement bed today after filing for a warranty claim. The hardest part of filing was getting my pictures to them in email. Within days I had my answer they were replacing my mattress and foundation. I had to either choose the mattress that was comparable to my old one or if I chose to get something more expensive I could do that subtracting the original purchase price. We chose the comparable one they offered and it was delivered a week later. Absolutely no problems along the way at all. I was never expecting this whole process to go as smoothly as it did after reading all of the reviews, but was so pleasantly surprised it did. They even threw in two Tempur-Pedic pillows! Very happy customer.

I don't know for 100% certain... but it seems like the Tempur-Pedic I bought 10 months ago is making me not feel well when I'm around it. It's taking me many months to figure this out. I only feel bad when I'm in my room… and I ruled out every other environmental thing it could be… a smell is emitted from the mattress. I wouldn't try using them or anything because you can't go against the chemical lobby... but I would like to know for 100% certain if it’s the mattress by hearing from others with similar problems. I'm in the process of getting rid of it and getting a mattress made from all natural materials. I do feel bad it’s taken me this long to figure out the mattress was the causes. I feel fine while traveling, I feel fine sleeping in my other room that has a different kind of bed. Anyway... please let me know if you are having health problems from the polyurethane foam or whatever other chemicals they may put in it.

I purchased a Tempur-Pedic mattress 2 years ago and I'm still paying on it. I paid a little over $3,000.00 and I still owe $1,200.00. I had back surgery in May 2017 and was hoping this would change things since my back hurt no matter what I did. The bed killed my back from 2015 to present and since my surgery the only thing that makes my back hurt is this bed. This was the worst $3,000.00 investment I have ever made. I would never recommend this bed to anyone.

I would love to throw it in the trash. I can assure you I put my California King back in my room which is a Serta and I am sleeping like a baby with no issues. My suggestion, do not waste your money. Spend $1,200.00 on a true mattress and invest the rest. Tempur-pedic are crooks and offer the 3 month, but trust me. You don't find out until about month 4 and by month 6 the mattress has an indentation from where you sleep. I plan on speaking poorly about this company for the remainder of my days. The best thing they could do is refund my money, but we know this will never happen so take my word. It's not a good bed. Thank you.

I first purchased the bed online and it was supposed to be a King Bed. They delivered a queen. They then after 10 days brought a King bed which within 2 weeks of sleeping on it bunched up in the middle. They honored the sale and then brought me a Queen. The bed is awful, it feels like you are lying downhill sideways, I called and complained and was told to walk on the mattress and it would settle down. It did not. So I called them to return and they told me my last sale was final. Wow. So the so called 10 year warranty is bs. I’ve since contacted the bank that I am financed thru and was told the sale is final and there is nothing they can do. Seriously on a $3500.00 dollar mattress. Not paying another dime. Don’t buy Tempur-Pedic. Now my credit is ruined.

A brand new Tempur-Pedic king cloud breeze mattress and box springs were purchased Nov/Dec 2016. We were severely impacted by Hurricane Harvey - complete loss of everything in the house. We had flood water enter the house and stay there for 24 hours. We had to be rescued from our home. We lost all furniture, appliances, clothes, and this nearly brand new mattress we are still paying for. Homeowners will not cover flood contents. FEMA will only cover 10K which does not even cover our appliances lost. Had to throw everything out due to mold, and it has been stolen by looters (photos to prove). An awful, devastating situation.

Called Tempur-Pedic last week and received positive feedback regarding their attempt to come up with a policy to assist us and was told to call back this week. I have called back and was told "This phone number (customer service) will be unable to assist you. Contact FEMA or the Red Cross or some other organization of the sort." No attempts to work with me, no attempts to try and help their customers who have lost their mattress. This does not fall under their warranty because it is not a manufacturer defect, rather an act of God.

I will never invest in a Tempur-Pedic mattress and will make sure all of us flood victims are aware of their lack of sympathy and assistance with this matter. All in all, after losing everything and having to pay thousands in FEMA deductibles, and FEMA being unable to assist with contents, I will have to continue to pay off a mattress that was ruined by an "act of God." This statement was confirmed by the customer service representative who directed me to contacting a relief agency rather than calling back Tempur-Pedic. Shame on you Tempur-Pedic.

Purchased the Rhapsody Luxe Matt Split King adjustable base in 11/30/2016. Paid $7,242. At first we thought it would be great. My husband prefers a firm mattress. I went along for his comfort. I have since realized the heat it puts off keeps me awake. It only gives in the middle of the mattress. Getting out of the bed is like climbing out of a raft. I could stand all of it if it was cool while I slept. According to the company as long as I keep the room at 65-75 the mattress will be comfortable. That's a lie. I've purchased special sheets. I even purchased a $300 bed topper with cooling. That didn't work. When you hear people say they are hot believe them.

I wish someone had mentioned the heat and the fact that if you're a side sleeper don't get a firm Tempur-Pedic. In the past we had purchased a firm bed with a pillow too and it was fantastic. It takes way longer than 3 months to wear in a mattress long enough to see if it is going to work for the long term. I think they don't give you much time to exchange because it is a very expensive bed and they don't want the hassle of exchanging it. I was even willing to pay the difference. I was told there is nothing they will do. Now I know why Mattress Firm who sold the bed no longer does business with Tempur-Pedic. I now have to decide to stop paying on it to get rid of it or hope it sags enough to put a warranty claim in.

I am writing an addendum to my review of Aug. 23, 2017. After several weeks of getting the run around, I was finally able to get to the right person at Tempur-Pedic and she was EXTREMELY helpful. She took my information and we now have a replacement mattress for our sagging Rhapsody mattress! Sometimes you just have to get to the right person to get the problem fixed.

    Original Review: Aug. 23, 2017

In 2010 we purchased what we thought would be the last mattress we would ever need since it had a 20-year warranty. After 6 years we began to notice that the mattress was sagging to the middle. That was when I really began looking at the warranty and realized that what you have to do to get your mattress repaired or replaced is absolutely RIDICULOUS AND LAUGHABLE! -- You have to jump through hoops that are almost insurmountable. It involves a broom stick and a quarter, of all things.

Our problem is that the mattress doesn't show the sag unless you are lying on the bed. When you get up off the bed the sag isn't visible. I have called Tempur-Pedic numerous times in the last month and have been told that someone would get back to me. First it was in 24-48 hours. Then it was within 3-5 days. I'm still waiting. After almost a month we realize that they probably don't intend to call us back. Please, before buying a Tempur-Pedic bed READ THE WARRANTY and how it must be applied. It is an eye-opener. I would never again spend the almost $4,000 for this brand. I could have purchased three less expensive mattresses for the price. Unfortunately, we are retired and on a fixed income so this bed will have to do for a long time. What a terrible investment we made! I think of it every night when I get into bed.

In Sept 2016 purchased the Tempur-Pedic mattress Contour Rhapsody Luxe King Size $3,799 from Havertys Furniture in Wesley Chapel. After 4 mos this mattress started to sag. I contacted them and they advised me that I had 3 mos to contact them if any problem and I would have to get in touch with Tempur-Pedic, in any event I talked them into sending a tech over to look at mattress. He put a string and a 1'' piece of ruler over mattress took a picture and left.

A few days later Havertys called and said I need to call Tempur-Pedic, after putting thru a claim and doing all the nonsense required to file this claim they said I would have to wait and try again in a few months. The space between the quarter and the broom handle wasn't sufficient enough to replace with a new mattress. I feel after only having this product for 4 mos at that time this should not have happened, I am going further. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE PURCHASING FROM THIS COMPANY.

Tempur-Pedic purposes that their beds never have to be turned or flipped. When I am laying on my bed I lay at an obvious angle... my head is lower than my pelvis and feet... as shown in the photos I have submitted, as requested, by use of a quarter along a straight edge. The straight edge used happens to be a 6 ft level, which ALSO illustrates an obvious sag. In the same photo one can see light coming from under the straight edge. Again illustrating the sag. Tempur-Pedic response is as follows : "Failure to prove a valid warranty defect." This is not only unacceptable as I am within my warranty period for replacement but also fails advertising on their behalf. I am 100% DISsatisfied!

We were told when we purchased our Sealy Tempur-Pedic mattress that Sealy would offer us a lifetime warranty (which is 10 years). We purchased the mattress from Mattress Firm for $2,800.00, and felt confident that they would honor the mattress in case it had any flaws that may arise. Needless to say after 2 years the mattress started to sag on one side.

We contacted Mattress Firm and they informed us that they no longer carry any more Sealy mattresses and apparently Mattress Firm was not happy with their product. I was told to contact Sealy directly, when I contacted them it was a call center. They would not give me a phone number to Sealy directly. I had to go through them, they set up an appointment for someone to come out and inspect my sagging mattress. When they showed up the man put a string across the bed and snapped a few pictures, which was a total joke. The only way you can see the sagging is to actually sit or lay down on the bed, which the hole sinks pretty far down, even the inspector agreed.

Well needless to say Sealy contacted me and told me that they would not honor the warranty because they could not see any sagging from the picture. I could not believe after owning this garbage of a mattress for 2 years and paying high dollar that they would not stand behind their product. Please don't make the same mistake as we did. The warranty people talked up the idea of upgrading to another mattress which gives you a brand new warranty. What you aren't told is that if you upgrade and don't like the new mattress you have no recourse. Tempur-Pedic considers the upgrade as a warranty exchange which does not entitle you to an additional 90-day trial period. My husband and I purchased a CAL-King Rhapsody mattress in 2008. We are going through second claim process, as it has started to sag on both sides again. In the acceptance email, they give you current model that is similar, in FEEL, which they will deliver and set up for free. The only problem was that the mattress they selected was the cheapest and hardest! It was nothing like our current one. So Being that there was still a Rhapsody line, I called in asking to just switch to that one and as lady was putting order through, the phone call was "dropped." I called back and was told there was nothing going through and since there are no notes, they had no proof of this being done. Now the new rep was telling me that I got some bad information. I asked to be transferred to a manager and phone call was cut off- again! They hang up on their customers!

Four phone calls in, explaining my situation over and over was not only crazy making but made me so mad that they wouldn't do exchange with same mattress line! I was referred to escalation department who told me they had no power to get me the bed most equal to mine. I am better off keeping the one we have than going with horribly different and cheaper model! So I'm waiting for someone to call me back who can help... imagine that. Disgusting service for a disgusting and dishonest company with ill-trained representatives. We will probably end up with a regular mattress after this is said and done. What a waste of THOUSANDS of dollars!

One week after that bed arrived I couldn't breathe, sinus asthma, migraine, burning eyes. Now my fiancé who has none complained of migraines, swollen throats and sinus pain so we knew something was wrong. Tempur-Pedic uses chemicals in their beds that will kill you. Google all the lawsuits and you will see!!

The bed was comfortable but even after three weeks they said the smell should be gone, not the case!! Got worse. Spoke to my doctor. He said, "Tempur-Pedic. OMG get rid of it." They are misleading in their disclosure!! Long and short let me explain. They are getting the bed out of here and bottom line is what I've learned is look for the label CertiPur-US, Simmons and other bed companies carry it. There are no chemicals that are high VOCS. Do your research please!!! Tempur-Pedic shame on you. I was told the astronauts couldn't have this in the shuttles because of the off gas. An informed consumer is the best.

Horrible customer service on warranty related issue. I bought my king sized Tempur-Pedic Cloud Luxe bed and adjustable base from Mattress Firm on New Years day 2 yrs ago. At the year mark, I noticed a split of the foam going across the bottom corner at about 24 inches from the distal angle of the bed. I called Mattress Firm and was directed to Tempur-Pedic. I was told that this bed had a 25 yr warranty. Because of that time frame... I did not rush for immediate resolution. So when I got the time, as it is quite lengthy to go thru the process, I completed the warranty process at the 2 yr mark. I bought this unit brand new in the box as a floor model for approx. $1900 and an additional $1400 for the adjustable base.

Now, trying to use the warranty and Tempur-Pedic is asking that I pay the full retail value of the original bed... another $2200 in order to get to use my original $1900 on the purchase of another mattress. This is beyond ridiculous... It's outrageous. Do not waste your time with these products. They are truly not worth it. You would do better getting a Costco membership and buying their best bed and save a couple, few thousands. I cannot tell you how frustrated I am with this situation. TEMPUR-PEDIC should stand behind their product... they don't.

Bought a $2400 mattress. It felt like crawling on wet cement starting to harden. I was never able to sleep on it. It hurt my back and hips. My husband tried it and over a 2 year period ended up going to the chiropractor several times for a sore shoulder. We finally figured out it was the bed. We would not wish this horrible mattress on anyone, so we ended up buying a Serta perfect sleeper and had them haul away that terrible Tempur-Pedic. No more shoulder problem or aches and pains. It was a total waste of money, plus it always had an unpleasant foam odor. Please do not buy a foam mattress - it is a scam and you will regret it. Serta and Beautyrest are the best and fairly priced, too.

We purchased the mattress in either late 2006 or early 2007. At the time of purchase, there was a 20 year warranty. I registered my mattress on the Tempur-Pedic website, however, they have updated their system and I am no longer there. They told me that I need my receipt, which I no longer have. I paid with an American Express card. I called AmEx and they said they do not have any statements that I could get as they only go back 7 years. A mattress that is much taller than my previous mattress. I called today to ask what could be done as I am NOT happy with this mattress. Mind you, we all know how much money these mattresses are, so I expected to have someone on the phone that wasn't rude or obnoxious. Well, the "manager/supervisor" named Shawn **, spoke to me like I was an idiot.

There is NO need for your managers/supervisors to speak to customers the way that this "floor" supervisor spoke to me. NONE. I paid a lot of money for this bed. I want a bed that is the same as my previous bed. If your product wasn't such crap, then perhaps I wouldn't have had to have a new mattress replaced! I expect someone to get back to me about this incident and expect something to be done. This is uncalled for, unprofessional and absolutely disgusting! I expect a phone call from someone with more authority than a floor manager named Shawn **. This company operates with three goals: make everything as ridiculous as possible, NEVER follow-up any contact, pray the customer wanders off into the sunset because WE AIN'T DOIN NOTHIN'!

In the SIX months of my claim process, I truly needed **, whiskey or a vape pen to be able to deal with the insanity. We bought the bed (5,000$) because my husband was having a lower leg amputation and I needed a new hip soon after. Four months after purchase we traded sides and I was appalled at how I would SINK into a hammock-like depression and couldn't get out! I went back to Mattress Firm and was told that they are out of the loop.

Contacting Tempur-Pedic I started the undignified process of stripping the bed, holding a broomstick and quarter over an essentially new mattress and taking numerous pictures of the tags, etc. I kept telling the representative that there was nothing to see visually. You need to get on the bed to feel that it is defective. Six months, numerous phone calls, pictures, begging, crying, swearing, filling out forms... and today I finally have resolution! I will NEVER buy another Tempur-Pedic product. Be sure you know that they also make Serta and Sealy.

My son is project manager of an equity firm that just purchased 60 resorts. They will be buying 1,000's of mattresses over the next few years and you can be sure they will not come from the Tempur-Pedic brands. He watched (along with my husband and friends) as I dealt with this. I won't be shopping at Mattress Firm either. It is unconscionable to sell a product that you can't stand behind. BE FOREWARNED!

Horrible product, no integrity within this company. My husband and I purchased a Grand from Tempur in 2009 for about $11000 (Canadian) with the bases. My husband was in the military and was medically released with back injuries after 27 years service. The Tempur bed was recommended to us by a "bed specialist" as per the release department at the end of my husband's career. It was a glorious bed for about four years. At the end of the fourth year however, we contacted Tempur because the bed was so soft and saggy and was offering no support. We submitted pictures and our invoices as well as the registration information that they already had on file and it took them about six weeks to replace the mattress.

We immediately noticed that the new mattress had problems as the men who arrived with their "white glove" service, had snapped all the threading on the top of the mattress by folding it in half to get it up the stairs into our home. That one was replaced immediately. Move forward to today. I will preface this point by saying that I am meticulous in caring for this mattress because of the cost of them and also because I really wanted it to last for the lifetime of the warranty. It is covered by a full protective Tempur cover at all times, is not exposed to light or heat etc.

For the last three months or so, I have been washing and washing our bedding and deodorizing our house and our room in particular as there was a lingering, musty, old oil type smell. When I removed the protective pad from our bed to see if I could find a source for the odor, I found a strange yellowish color leaching through the mattress everywhere that the layers were sewn or glued together. That was where the fun just began. When I phoned Tempur I was informed that the company I had to go through was Tempur Canada since the company was now two branches.

I was then also informed that the Canada side of the company had changed over their data system in 2014 and they had no warranty or registration information anymore therefore, if I didn't have my original receipt, I was on my own. They then admitted that because I had a claim in with them in the past, they DID have my information but that it was not readily accessible. Further to that, they informed me that Tempur Canada was not carrying the "Grand" anymore as it was not selling well in Canada and they had made the decision to discontinue it. I questioned how it was possible for a company to sell a bed with a 25 year warranty and then basically tell a consumer to get stuffed because the bed was not available in Canada anymore but was still being sold by Tempur US as that is the origin of all Tempur mattresses.

Here we are six weeks of pictures, emails and phone calls later and on February 1st, I received an email saying that Tempur US had decided to replace my mattress and protector. When I didn't hear anything further from the company, I phoned yet again. I have now received an email and a phone call saying that they are reneging on the replacement and they want an inspector to come to my house. That was accompanied by a "We're sorry about this, we don't know what's going on in our own company."

I am sooo done withTempur!!! I sleep in a bed that stinks, is changing color and is completely destroying our backs, from a company that offered to replace the mattress and then reneged on the offer two weeks later. They now want me to wait for them to find someone to come out and inspect the bed, create a report, get that report back to Tempur Canada followed by Tempur US and they will make a determination... If you are purchasing a mattress, WALK AWAY from TEMPUR!!! Do yourself a favor and read these reviews and look into all the complaints about off gassing, odor and mold!!! Not worth the time dealing with them, the sleepless, hot nights or the hoops that you have to jump through trying to get this company to honor their warranties.

In 2009 I spent almost $7500 for a split king (2 twin longs) Rhapsody Tempur-Pedic mattresses. I have some bad back, neck and shoulder problems and have undergone several surgeries. Of course with a cost like that I did a pretty exhaustive Due Diligence and research. I also spent some hours at a local Mattress Firm to try different beds. I am usually a high end buyer but only after checking out all the options but undoubtedly biased towards higher end products, sometimes to my detriment. At any rate, after two years one of the mattresses had some indentations and I felt that was probably the reason for the problem.

They felt comfortable but I hurt every morning. I did contact Tempur-Pedic explained my problem and filed a complaint with them along with a series of pictures. The customer service was very good and agreed to let me replace the bed or upgrade. So I went back to the dealer and went for one of the highest models for another $2000 and again it felt comfortable in the retailer with the limited time I could do this. I do not have a problem with the company and these mattresses may be fine for some people but my back is worse than ever.

We do travel a lot and again usually stay in higher end hotels and just came back from a California trip where we stayed at a Hilton and Marriott and they had just wonderful beds. While my back problems obviously didn't stop in just two weeks there was no doubt that those expensive conventional beds were a lot better on my back. These two mattresses I have now are in perfect shape and I have made up my mind that regardless of the money I have invested, I will have to change again. My wife seemingly has no problem with these beds at all but she doesn't have back problems like I do. She rarely complains on any beds we have been on anywhere in the world even when I was crippled. So again this bed might be fine for some people but people with back problems, I would look elsewhere.

Now to be specific, I upgraded a Rhapsody TXL to the Pure Opulence! I am not sure what to do with these two perfectly clean and two year old Pure Opulence mattresses. I am going to replace them with a conventional bed but I am just not sure which one yet. What a shame and in the end a waste of a lot of money. Buying a mattress is one of the most difficult important buys in one's life. This industry is full of gimmicks though and false advertising. What a shame when all you want is a bed that you can get a good night sleep!

I started with horrific neck, shoulder, hip and back pain. Then one Saturday at 2:30 am, I awoke believing I was paralyzed. I had to swing my legs to the edge of the bed, and slide my feet to the floor. I quickly realized that my right hip was not going to support me, and Sat on the edge of the bed. The only thing I could do, was start holding onto furniture to get to the living room. I settled into my computer chair. While there, I researched "pain from Tempur-Pedic mattresses."

There were hundreds with the very same complaints. One woman's husband had to actually hold her up to stand. As with me, she had no problems before the Tempur- Pedic bed. In my researching, I found that within several years, the foam breaks down. If you are a couple, it can cause a ridge in the middle of the mattress. With Tempur-Pedic you don't move. NOT GOOD. You need to change position while sleeping. To make a long story short, I am unable to sleep on a conventional mattress of any kind, pressure is too much to bear. I now sleep on a very expensive inflatable mattress. Even 3 years later I have lingering effects from the Tempur-Pedic. I bragged about the bed at first but now discourage people from getting one.

I called the company and was naive enough to think the company would stand behind their 20 year warranty. Boy, I was wrong. When you have a CLOUD SUPREME the straight edge and quarter trick they tell you to do won't worked. You don't sink in until you put weight on it. We wake up every few hours and can hardly move. Back, neck, shoulders. Both of us are in severe pain every morning. I dread going to sleep at night. We paid over $3,000 for it. Do not buy a Tempur-Pedic bed. You are wasting your money.

We got our king-size tempurpedic mattress Feb 2015 as a replacement for a worn out Simmons BeautyRest which was a great mattress while it lasted. I did a lot of research and we went with the Cool Breeze version of the Tempurpedic. This is supposed to have less of the body heat issue that the Tempur-pedic mattresses are infamous for. We did notice more heat than the previous inner spring mattress. One thing that helped was taking off the cheap dust mite cover and replacing with a higher quality one that breathes more. So this has significantly reduced this issue and we have not noticed it any more.

We have now had it for a year and a half. My wife started complaining of some back stiffness for a few months and finally decided that it was the mattress. She was ready to get rid of it. She is a side sleeper. I am more of a back sleeper. I read that one problem with Tempurpedic is that the 'break-in' period is much longer than an inner spring mattress.

I also read that some people had gotten a pillow topper like the Hospitology goose down alternative as a way of making it softer until it has time to break in. Some other people have recommended walking on the mattress but didn't say how much or how often to do this. We also considered getting the adjustable base as a demo in the store revealed that just a little elevation of the head and feet takes a lot of pressure off of the back. But we decided against it in case the issue with the mattress did not resolve we did not want to be stuck with the expensive adjustable base.

So I had her change sides with me. I weigh about 50 pounds more than she does. I did notice that her side was a bit stiffer but it didn't really bother me. She, on the other hand, noticed that my side was much more comfortable and her back stopped hurting almost after the first night. We are both sleeping solidly through the night. She has not given up 'her' side of the bed (which used to be mine). But she said once I break her side in she will switch back. So after a little bit of a hiccup with the breaking in issue and the body heat problem (resolved by taking off the cheap dust mite cover) we - so far - are very pleased with the Tempurpedic mattress.

The very next day I returned the pillow using Tempur-Pedic's UPS return label, original box and all. When the month of June arrived and I had as of yet NOT received a refund to my credit card, I traced the UPS package that I had sent to Tempur-Pedic and learned that my package with the returned pillow had been received back in May, 2016 and was signed for a Tempur-Pedic representative. I weigh 135 pounds, my husband 230 pounds. Both sides are equally bad. The mattress is king size, so there is a ridge in the middle where no one sleeps. We are both experiencing terrible back pain and hip pain from the lack of support. Tempur-Pedic uses some silly method of demonstrating a defect in order to use the "warranty" they offer. You have to put a straight edge across the bed with a quarter in front to demonstrate a depression in the mattress.

This in no way demonstrates the lack of support and how a firm mattress has gone soft. The frame is squeaky and cheap. We spent $4000 on frame and mattress for 3 years of use, most of which have been uncomfortable. We got maybe 12 months of comfort from this piece of crap and now the company says our warranty claim does not meet the criteria of defect. DO NOT WASTE your money. The warranty is a farce and you will spend excessive money trying to realign your back and hip from lack of support. So disappointed. I will never recommend this mattress to anyone. Updated on 12/06/2022: I purchased a Tempur-Pedic and I am having this issue again for the 3rd time, but now they just don't want to admit it. I sent pictures proving the sinkhole is there but they don't really care. My wife and I are having back pain because of this. The area where we do more pressure is going deeper and deeper compared with the rest of the areas, like the head or fit. If I sleep transversal, I will be good, but obviously, this is not the way I want to sleep with my feet out of bed. I sent all info to the warranty department but they asked me to use a stick and a coin without anything heavy on top, and of course, that won't show the problem. They just don't care.

Updated on 05/12/2022: This is the second time I asked to replace my mattress because of the same problem. It sags where I laid my hip. That area goes down deeply and faster than any other area. I did the rare test with the coin but they said the mattress is fine. I am not sure how that coin will show the problem. If I laid my hip on the head or fit areas, I feel the support like the way it was when the mattress was new. My doctor is blaming the mattress for my back pain and so do I.

Original Review: I have this Tempurpedic for a little more than 2 years and I am having the same problem as before. My hip is going deeper more and more when I am sleeping and it wasn't like that before. When I sleep across the mattress to see if other areas are good, my hip doesn't go that deep and feel better. The problem is when you sleep in the same area every night, the mattress miss the quality and is having a sink with the time.

I called Tempurpedic and they have a wired method to prove if the mattress is bad or not. They need photo of the mattress with the straight edge lying directly on the mattress, and the quarter leaning against the straight edge not underneath. I explained that my problem is with my body weights and just happening when I am using the mattress, not if I am not using it. They didn't care and never answered my emails. I sent the picture attached to show them the problem and they even answered my email. I am having now a back problem and if the doctors say is because the mattress, I am going to sue them.

On my back, I had the same experience with my lower back, discomfort turned into pain. I was back and forth and still 5 hrs after I got up my hip and knee joint are still sore. Add on the restless sleep because of this physical discomfort, the smell coming from the mattress was very strong and unnerving. What could they put in this mattress that smells so bad and that it can not be good for us to breathe in all night.

Although my husband says he really had such a great night sleep on this mattress, when he left the bed to shower his side of the mattress was drenched, icky wet. We bought our Tempur-Pedic when the company was actually Tempur-Pedic - you know, the highly advanced, cutting edge, highest quality bed you could buy. The stuff they put on space ships! We first tried a 4" foam topper for our old mattress, did a return on that nightmare before the end of the week. Then we spent about 2x more for a 12" foam mattress that was shipped in a vacuum packed tube that came with instructions to remove the tube and allow the mattress to "inflate" for up to 3 hours before using. That company wouldn't accept any returns for the first 90 days - they were hoping you would "get used to" the bed. My guess is they were mostly hoping you would spill something on it, stain it, lose your invoice or throw the packaging away before the 90 days were up but we returned that too - sunk right to the bottom of it - useless!

BOTH of our parents kept telling us buy a Tempur-Pedic but we didn't have the money. After the 4 months of headaches trying very cheap foam mattresses we decided to finance a Tempur-Pedic. The first few nights were rough - somehow I felt like a 500 pound lead brick after sleeping on it a mere 3 hours. I woke up in the middle of the night hot and unable to move. The unable to move thing lasted about 4 days, not sure why, but the second week was finally joyous. Good nights sleep. No pain - Amen! The AMEN lasted 8 months. Then noticeable "dents" were in the bed. If either of us tried sleeping even an inch outside of the "dent", it felt like a 4" cliff of difference between the "worn" foam and the "unworn" foam. I called Tempur-Pedic asking about warranty, asking why this "dent" happened so quickly - telling them that we didn't plan on paying the rest of the $3300 if it was only going to last 8 months.

The lady was quite nice, she emailed me all the warranty paperwork, but she said if there is no "sunken in spots as deep as a quarter" there would be no warranty issued. I spent about a week trying to take pictures right when we woke up, thinking the foam would stay sagged down after laying on it all night but no it popped right up. Even now, years and years after purchase, we can't manage to get a picture that they consider "valid sagginess" to issue any type of warranty - but I can guarantee you that the "worn in dent" puts us an easy 4-6 inches into the mattress. I take Aleve every morning due to neck pain the mattress has caused. I go to a chiropractor 4 times a month to help re-align my back and neck. There are days where my entire arm is numb and tingling. I CANNOT suggest a Tempur-Pedic to anyone for ANY REASON! !

We first purchased a 'medium' softness Tempur-Pedic mattress. I can't recall the exact model name. It was about $3500. We tried it for a month, and found it much too hard. It literally MADE us hurt! Luckily, we were allowed to have one exchange, if we did not like our purchase. We mulled it over and decided on the softer, actually the 'softest' model, the cloud luxe supreme breeze. It was another $2000, but we went for it. We were very nervous, believe me, as this time we were going to be stuck with it for good. Well... we should have just bought this model in the first place. It is not too 'soft', but rather, perfect. We NEVER hurt and every position is comfortable. You really do flip over a lot less on this mattress, as well. An extremely comfortable, uninterrupted sleep. Unlike any mattress we have ever owned. That truly is the draw to Tempur-Pedics. And if you get the right one, it appears to be true!

We are almost six months in now, so we waited a good amount of time before writing our review. I can only say that I recommend going with the softest model from the start, no matter what. We should have, but we were trying to save some money and also thought that 'soft' meant not as much support. We have NEVER bought a soft mattress before and we now know that softness has nothing to do with good support. This mattress is soft and is very supportive. We love it, we sleep fantastic on it, it is not too hot, and we hope that the mattress lasts forever. Literally... because we cannot afford another one!

We purchased the King in 2 twin x-long pieces that are adjustable. PAID $10,000 DOLLARS!!! I have horrible back pain from the bed. How do I know it is the bed? Because I can sleep on our sofa, fall right asleep and wake up with no pain. I just came home from traveling, I slept on a pullout sofa bed that was 4" deep. Slept like a baby!! Be aware the store you buy the Tempurpedic from will NOT help you with a warranty issue. It has to go thru the company. They have a bunch of demand you must do before they will even consider warranty. You know they will never replace your bed. We are giving ours to goodwill and buy a regular mattress.

I have no idea why there are so many negative reviews. I've had my California King Tempur-Pedic Cloud Elite for over a year now and it's by far the most comfortable mattress I've ever laid on. The mattress did take a couple of months to fully break in and during that break in period occasionally you could smell the off gassing but it was nowhere near as bad as some people are making it seem like.

Before I bought this mattress I never got a good night of sleep, as soon as I started sleeping on my Tempur-Pedic it was like night and day, no pun intended. With a bit of walking on it, it has evenly broken in and every person I have lay on it or sleep in it agrees that it's the most comfortable bed they've ever experienced. Yes it is extremely expensive. I'd say that's the only downside, but for me it's worth every penny. A great night of sleep is very important. Now I've never dealt with their customer service department so I can't vouch for them but I can vouch for their mattresses. Would recommend to anyone who can afford them.

I'm really not sure why so many people are on this forum bashing Tempur-Pedic like it's the worst thing since the bubonic plague. To counter so much negative "press" that this mattress is getting I felt compelled to come online and give it some praise because it truly has changed my life for the better. I am not a USA native and came from a place with firmer mattresses were the norm and the whole "spring mattress" nonsense was sort of non-existent. Anyway, been living here for a good 11-12 years and I don't recall ever having slept properly on a spring mattress. And believe me, I have tried Sealy, Serta and the Original Mattress company crap and NONE of them gave me that feeling of being fully rested. And living like that for more than a decade has just warped my brain and put life in a constant state of fog.

Fast forward to 12 years and having a baby and almost nearly dying of sleep exhaustion, my wife and I reached a point that it was good sleep or die type of crossroads. We decided to splurge and got the Tempur-Pedic Coutour Elite King 2.0 Breeze. And all I can say is that I sleep like the dead. Once I hit this bed, I instantly start to almost go into a hypnotic sleep and then just completely go unconscious. I haven't experienced such deep, deep sleep since I was maybe a teenager. My sleep apnea is gone, I actually have dreamless, dead sleep where I am not snoring at all and am going so deep into REM cycles that I feel overjoyed. This feeling that I am feeling now gives me so much happiness because I had reconciled to this state of mind that as one grows older the sleep just doesn't get any better, that it only gets worse.

But Tempur-Pedic has blown everything else out of the water and given me faith that yes good quality sleep is possible. And the way I see it that it is possible only with this mattress because I have tried many others and have also slept in some very high-end hotels all over the country because I do a lot of business travel but I have never slept like this. I highly, highly recommend this mattress to people who are dying for deep sleep and who suffer from snoring or sleep apnea or any other such issues. The smell that people are complaining about, lasts maybe a week and it's not that bad to begin with. I have not ONCE felt hot sleeping on this as a matter of fact I have felt perfectly comfortable on this mattress. And the fact that when you or your partner moves and the other person doesn't get disturbed is priceless!!! Because we subconsciously wake up so many times in the night every time our partner moves.

Give it a try, this mattress is every bit worth every dollar that it costs. The number of negative reviews on this forum and how Saatva and Loom and Leaf ads keep popping up on this website almost seems suspect if there is some sabotage going on on this website against Tempur-Pedic. Anyway, these are my two cents for what it's worth. If you have forgotten how sleep-like-the-dead deep sleep feels that you remember from childhood, then do yourself a favor and get this mattress. You will be filled with joy you took this decision.

My wife and I bought a new King bed 10 years ago. In the first 3 years we went through 2 more foundations that support the foam mattress. Year 5 our mattress began falling apart in balls and was replaced. Year 10 our 2nd mattress has compressed and makes our bones and muscles hurt. There are 2 spots that measure at 1 1/2" that are sunk in. They say our bed model is not made anymore and has to be replaced. They want us to pay $850.00 for a bed replacement. Instead of giving us a 20 warranty that we had on the other bed, they are only going to give us a 10 year warranty. We currently in a 60 day decision to go forward in getting an upgrade. I think we are going to pass since they can't uphold the original warranty we bought with our first bed.

All I can say is, just know you are only getting a 10 year warranty with these no beds. The 20/25 year warranties are no more. If it fails before 10 years, you will more likely have to pay more $ for an upgrade and will for sure fail after 10 years like our did and many other people whom have posted complaints. Good luck with your decision! I think we will keep our foundation and just buy a new Posturepedic from Sears for the same price with a 10 year warranty.

We enjoyed our mattress for several years but then notices it sagged and we couldn't sleep on it anymore, we also notices dark spots. not knowing what they were. Tempur-Pedic was very helpful and promptly replaced the mattress with a "comparable" one as they had quit making ours. It was delivered last week, the smell was the first thing I noticed, it lasted and lasted, I slept pretty well comfort wise for the first night, then we both noticed that every time we moved a body part the other person was woken up.

Our original bed you could drop a bowling ball and there would be no movement. This bed you feel the other person breathing, no joke. I have put in a contact message to Tempur-Pedic and hopefully they can shed some light on the problem and get it fixed. We both wish we had a totally different bed at this point, but since we have so much money invested in this one have to work through the problem. We received information from them that we could choose from several models which were considered similar quality, one of which was the contour Allura. Serious health issues came up so we didn't get back to the claim.

Recently, had to start a new appeal and were approved quickly, however, now the equal exchange they are offering are not equal to our purchase. The Allura, which would have been an even exchange 2 years ago, would now cost us $1,800.00 more. In the last two years, they have changed their warranty from what was promoted at time of purchase. I have communicated with the warranty people on this but... Love the product I originally purchased but the warranty isn't all it was suppose to be. Very poor way to do business.

We slept on this bed for almost three months when I realized I could exchange it for a different bed within three months. So we went back to the store and purchased a different bed. We had to pay an additional $200 for delivery after paying more than $3000 for the Tempur-Pedic. We needed to "be approved" so that took an additional month or so before we could get the new bed. So, we had the bed for almost four months. During that time, the smell did not totally dissipate. And that was after totally stripping it and unzipping the cover for a week when we were away. The bed was very hard and very hot.

We ended up getting a Kingsdown, which was recommended to us by the store. I'm not sure I like this bed either. It is way too high and it too has an odor. Maybe only 15 years or so and I can buy a cheaper bed that is probably more comfortable. BTW, we bought two Tempur-Pedic pillows when we bought the bed. We had to go through hoops trying to get them not to smell-sitting on them, airing them outside, rolling them around, putting baking soda on them and vacuuming them. I called the company and told them they need to get a machine to do that before they are packaged for sale. Same with the beds.

I feel so bad for all those who made the large investments in the poor Tempur-Pedic products. I purchased a pillow from Relax the Back store. It was the worse pillow I ever had. I used it about 3 months and threw it away because there is a no return policy on pillows. Within 3 months it lost all of its support and made my neck worse. I almost purchased a Tempur-Pedic mattress at the same time. Thank goodness I didn't. A friend was a head nurse at a large well-known hospital, a new Director purchased Tempur-Pedic beds for the hospital. That lasted a short time and they had them all removed. I have slept on a Latex mattress for the last 6 years and it is wonderful. We recently decided due to my neck and back problem to purchase a split king all natural 100% synthetic with an adjustable frame so we can raise the head and feet.

There are a lot of people fooled on man-made synthetic latex and blended latex versus 100% natural straight from the rubber tree latex. The good news is that we just purchased a chair from Relax the Back and while there looked at the Tempur-Pedic and laid on it, I had a hard time getting up even lifted. They also have a new Techno-gel that is supposed to be so great. Appears to be another foam mattress with this cooling pad on top. We also laid on it and we're not impressed. The adjustable foundation wasn't impressive.

The Tempur-Pedic was quoted around $9,000 which included a 10% discount. That did not include a delivery and set up fee. The 100% all natural latex with a nice Leggett and Platt adjustable base wireless remote, king size split set was $4447 including White Glove in-house set up. Latex is not as well-known and harder to find at the average mattress store. The Latex I purchased has a 365 day return policy no questions asked and a 20-year warranty. I love Latex and wish everyone knew before purchasing the Tempur-Pedic.

We got our first Tempur-Pedic in 2003. It was the Tempur-pedic Deluxe. About 3 years later, my side began to sag. My wife and I are not overweight and we weigh close to the same amount. We put in a warranty claim and Tempur-Pedic sent us a new bed. We got the Rhapsody. About a year later the same thing occurred. Luckily Tempur-Pedic again sent us a new bed, but we decided to go with the new Flex model. The Flex model turned out to be the worst bed ever. Both of us had increasing neck, shoulder, and hip pain. Tempur-Pedic agreed to do one more exchange, this time as a comfort exchange, not a warranty exchange. We ended up paying more money about $900.00 more for a new bed, the Rhapsody Luxe. We got it about 1 1/2 months ago. When we first got it, it was great. All of our pains disappeared and it was a wonderful sleep.

Just about a week ago, my hip pain returned and it is most definitely the mattress because when I sleep in the center of the mattress that has not broken in yet, my pain is less. If I sleep on my side of the mattress, the hip pain is there and it is getting worse. When you first buy the bed, the tempur material is firm and over time it starts to give way and becomes softer than anticipated. This softening only continues more the longer you own the bed. I can no longer sleep in the bed as the hip pain is severe enough to disrupt my sleep. I now sleep in a blow-up mattress, while my wife continues to sleep in the bed. The thing that is horrible about the product is that when you first try it out or during the first few months, the bed seems good, but as the tempur material begins to lose its support, it swallows you up more and more, and gives you less support making for a very bad night's sleep.

Tempur-Pedic did help us with replacements, but as we learned the hard way, the product is just not meant to give you consistent results. The material changes with the temperature in the room and with time. It is a very poor product for the long haul and I would recommend going elsewhere. We are thinking, if there is any way we can cut our losses, that we might go with the Flo bed which will give us the option of customizing our support. FLO also allows you to order new support blocks if they wear out or you need a different support level. Tempur-Pedic does not. Also, the smell of these beds does not go away very easily. The newest one we have continues to have a very bad smell after 1 1/2 months. Our cats are always sneezing when they come onto the bed. Stay away from Tempur-Pedic. Look elsewhere!!!

To make things worse, it is too short and is hitting the control from under the mattress.

So I called to return it. The rude phone attendant was raising her voice at me, trying to intimidate me and saying their return policy is "no return" on the legs. I told her I just received the legs yesterday, and it does not work! The rep, named Kayla, based in Illinois told me that I cannot return the legs for a refund. She was so rude to me, I had to assert myself and asked for her supervisor. She did not give me the supervisor, instead put me on hold for a long time!

After that, she returned to the phone "trying" to sound nice. She said she will make an exception and exchange the legs for the 9 inch one. However, it will not be metal as I expected, but the same cheap wooden legs. Moreover, she said, I will wait 4 days for an email to come and I am supposed to mail these cheap short legs back, and only then they will send me the replacement. This is such a bad customer service rep... At this point, I do not trust the phone rep I talked to, and wondering if she even processed my return. The sales person is always nice, I got decent financing at zero percent, put some money down and I've had for a little over a year now. Our power went out today and I have followed the directions meticulously for how to reset the remote control (it also happens when someone in the dense neighborhood I live in changes their garage door code - it throws my bed off... crazy, I know...) and I can only get the massage motor to work again. The bed is stuck in an upright position and customer service is closed. But, I'm not an idiot- I know I am following the directions correctly - I've had to do this before.

This leads me to believe that the power motor for one part of the bed is already dead. I don't think that is covered under warranty longer than a year. (Although, I might be wrong about that, but that is what I think I remember reading.) So, I'm probably going to be in the position that one of these poor other Tempur-Pedic consumers are in. Argh. The things you wish you wouldn't have done. I'm sure when I call customer service tomorrow, they will want me to get under the bed, which I can not do because I am disabled, so I will have to find someone else to do it for me to check the motor. And, I don't even know what they are going to want to me to look for. So, before you purchase this manufactures bed, consider the following:

    1) The 20 year warranty is easily voidable from all the things I've read and heard. You can not 'store' the bed - unless you leave it set up in a room you don't use. It is a huge thing that is a force to be reckoned with. Because mostly people with disability issues buy this bed, it makes it somewhat of a dichotomy of whether or not it's a good idea to have it. If you have corn fed Iowa neighbors, it's one thing.

    2) They are extremely expensive considering the amount of trouble you have with them.

    3) The $100.00 - or maybe it was $200.00 mattress pad cover that was 'water-proof' that had a separate warranty when I bought the bed literally fell apart after four washes in a front loaded, cold water machine using an exceptionally mild detergent and NO fabric softener. IT WAS NEVER EVER PUT IN THE DRYER, only hung dry over a drying rack with heavy towels under it to protect it. In other words, it was babied. Then, it fell apart. Lesson learned, beware the 'ad on's' you will be talked into when buying.

    4) It will be another year and six months before mine is paid off. I plan to sell it, without a working base and then look into something more reasonable.

Anyway, I'm not satisfied because for the price I paid, I should not have to go through these types of things. Oh, and as far as the mattress pad being warrantied, get this- when I called to find out how to use the warranty, I was given a 28 digit reference number, that had to be written on the tag of the mattress pad WITH ONLY A BLACK PERMANENT SHARPIE MARKER. I was told if it was anything else, it would void the warranty upon them opening the package. I had to pay to ship it back. They had, I think 8-12 weeks of laboratory testing before reaching their analysis. There would be no rebuttal allowed. So, I would have to try to fit this number on the tag of the pad, only in black sharpie, not black permanent marker from some other maker, they made that very very clear in my phone call to them. (I suppose the lab would have found out I used a generic black permanent marker and that would have voided the warranty.)

Then, I had to send ONLY by UPS, and pay for it, knowing that mailing costs are my responsibility, not theirs. Then, if the lab analysis agreed that it was a manufacturing error, they would replace by sending a new one, but not one that comes in original packaging. Weird. It wasn't worth it. I threw it away because it couldn't even be recycled. The bottom line, not worth the money, time or effort even when the bed is comfortable.

I read their policy, called the company and through a very bad connection the policy was read aloud to me. They will not exchange the pillow cases. I have not dealt with a company that will not accept a return if the package is unopened and undamaged. Tempur-Pedic will not. There are many other memory foam mattress companies out there. When the time comes to replace mine I will not be buying from Tempur-Pedic. Their policy isn't about a reasonable profit margin, it's about greed.

Seven years ago I purchased a Rhapsody queen bed model from the floor. I didn't have to go through the chemical smell or breaking in process and absolutely loved this bed. With the big 4k price tag and 20 year warranty, I expected to have it for a long time making the expensive price worth it. Then a few months ago tragedy struck and I found myself flooded out of my apartment. In a whirlwind, with the help of church friends, all of my belongings were shuttled off to a storage shed. After the dust settled I found my bed stored on its side and impossible to get to. Being that the thing weighs a ton, it's impossible to store it flat and on top of things, or to store it flat on the ground where it takes up a lot of space. I held my breath and hoped that it would still be alright.

One month later my luck continued to run out. The bed is now nothing but junk. I called Tempur-Pedic where I was told that there is no way to restore my 4k investment, and being improperly stored, the warranty doesn't count. Upon talking to a salesman where the bed was purchased for help, his response was that my 20 year warranty bed normally falls flat after 8 years. He then quickly tried to talk me into replacing it with a 5k interest free financed similar Rhapsody model. I had to say no thanks to that. Accidents happen and this impossible to store, ultra-expensive dinosaur will not hold up like a good old box spring. My next bed investment will be just that. With the insane cost of a flimsy Tempur-Pedic bed, this company should do a better job at helping their customers out.

Wished I had pages to write all I've experienced in the past 4 years after purchasing a Tempur-Pedic cloud mattress. I was told it would be 4-5 days before I could sleep on it because it had to "gas off". I was never able to sleep on it, but when I finally got the bed store to take it back 10 days later, I had acute bronchitis caused from chemical poisoning. I experienced terrible respiratory symptoms like ears ringing & mouth/throat felt like hot chili peppers. After seeing 4 allergist (all specializing in separate areas) it was determined I have MCS (multiple chemical sensitivities). I now cannot be around any scent on any product (laundry detergent, fabric softener, soap, shampoo, perfume, lotions, toothpaste, on and on.)

If someone hugs me at church & is wearing perfume, I have to come home, take a shower & wash my hair to get rid of the chemical odor in the perfume. I can't even walk down the soap or tire areas in stores. Immediately my ears start ringing & mouth stings like hot chili peppers (exactly the same symptoms when the Tempur-Pedic mattress was in the house). This is permanent & there is no cure! I can no longer take flu shots & have to be extremely cautious if having surgery due to the anesthesia). And no, I never had a problem before - no allergy problem, no problem with odors, etc.

Formaldehyde is the culprit, along with other VOC's that are highly toxic, but are put into just about everything today. I have found "some" products without scent, but it's difficult. And by the way, even preservatives in food affect me the same way. Recently I read where doctors are discovering MCS can turn into more serious diseases. Thanks Tempur-Pedic! If I can save just one person from buying one of these "chemical pits", it will be worth it.

We went from sitting on a cloud in the store to sitting on cement at home. I checked the mattress that was delivered and unfortunately it was the correct make and model. As I do more and more research I have found that there are so many others that have the same issue. I still can't believe the difference in what they give you vs. the in-store demo mattress.

I have read that you're supposed to give the mattress time... What?? We've had this thing for a while now and it is just as bad as the day we got it. And why would I want to buy a product that is one way in store and completely different when you get the thing? That is absurd. What you feel in the store is not what you get from Tempur-Pedic. To make matters worse, I now have neck and back pain that I didn't have before and I'm only 28. I can't sleep through the night. My body parts go numb, it is terrible. And due to the terms of our sale - we're stuck with it. I thought we were investing in our well-being, health, and happiness. I'm in contact with Tempur-Pedic/Sealy over a warranty. Upon reading their warranty over and over again, it appears to me that Tempurpedic/Sealy is not handling warranty claims in such a way that does not match their warranty - therefore breaching their warranty promise and misleading consumers. This results in charging consumers an extreme amount when a product is no longer available. For example: I have a mattress. The "+1 inch dent" (multiple dents) in the mattress is covered by their warranty, deemed defective. However, they no longer make the mattress that I have - which cost about $2500, approximately 8 years ago (I still have the receipt). As a result, they have given me (3) options that they feel to be comparable. When testing these mattresses for myself, they are NOT comparable. They have a much cheaper feel. One is actually cheaper in price! 8 years later. How is that a comparable mattress?

The mattress that I feel to be comparable, is more expensive than the one I originally purchased, however, it's not an ELECTED upgrade, to me it's a reasonable equivalent. If you read Tempur's warranty below, you will see that there is absolutely no detail on what denotes a reasonable equivalent. Is it at Tempur's discretion? The consumer's discretion? Is it limited to 3 mattress choices or all of the product line - etc.? As a result of this missing detail, if I choose the product that I feel to be a reasonable equivalent, Tempur will charge me approximately $1,500 to "upgrade"... even though I am not electing an upgrade. I'm simply choosing a mattress that's a reasonable equivalent. Think twice before buying these expensive mattresses.

Their warranty is very misleading and consumers that have filed claims on mattresses no longer in their assortment, have probably had to pay even more money for a change in mattress that the consumer feels to be a reasonable equivalent. Their warranty states: Year 1 through 10 Full Coverage: During the first ten (10) years of this limited warranty, Tempur-Pedic will not charge purchaser to repair or replace purchaser's mattress if it is deemed defective, but any transportation costs associated with repairs or replacements are purchaser's responsibility. In no event, however, will the transportation costs exceed Tempur-Pedic's then standard freight charges. No new warranty is provided with a replacement mattress. The warranty for the replacement mattress runs from the date of original purchase of the replaced mattress.

In connection with the replacement of a product in compliance with the terms of this limited warranty during years 1-10, if a purchaser elects to upgrade to a more expensive product, it may do so by paying the difference between the cost of the original product being replaced and the cost of the upgraded product plus the cost of any related additional sleep system pieces not being replaced as part of the warranty exchange. In the event of an upgrade as described in this paragraph, a new warranty will be provided for the upgraded pieces only. If a product has been discontinued then the replacement charge will be the cost of the reasonable equivalent of the discontinued item [or any upgraded item] less the appropriate percentage of the amount paid by the original purchaser for the demo or floor model product.

When I was in the market for a new mattress for another room, I looked at Tempur-Pedic again, and noticed they had many other options besides just the Original. It seemed like they had a bed for every circumstance. As it turned out, this newer model that I bought quickly gave way to sagging in the middle, and caused me back and neck pain regularly, such that I would go sleep on my old mattress. But once I got off the mattress, the bedding would bounce back, and so I couldn't return it for being defective, although it clearly was insofar as providing a comfortable sleep.

More recently they have shortened the warranty on their mattresses, and they create new models like they're a car manufacturer. Simply put, my new mattress was awful, and I suspect most all of their new mattresses are also. This is a company that has been living on its laurels for the past ten years, but its new (poor) reputation is quickly catching up with it. I would definitely not buy another Tempur-Pedic.

We purchased a Tempur-Pedic mattress 10 years ago after my husband had a neck fusion. The bed slept fairly comfortably for a couple years until I began having back pain. My massage therapist pointed out once that it appeared that my spinal vertebrae were compressed on one side which meant that my spine was being hyper-extended due to lack of mattress support (I typically sleep on one side). We soon noticed that the bed had two soft "canoes" where we each slept, and we requested a new mattress. We sent in the required photos of a broomstick lying across the bed with a quarter standing on end under it to demonstrate the sagging quality of the mattress.

Our new mattress was acceptable for a very short time -- probably less than one year. I immediately began having excruciating back problems and severe hip pain. It was so bad that upon awakening, I could barely walk. My feet and everything that my sciatic nerve was attached to ached. More recently, I would wake up with numbness and tingling in my arms due to the pinched nerves in my back from the sagging mattress. We have just received the second replacement mattress in two years. It smells strongly of chemicals. It is supposed to wick body heat away from us.

I have sustained serious injury from using this bed. How do I know? When I sleep on our (non-Tempur-Pedic) guest bed, or the couch, or any hotel bed, I do not have these miserable symptoms. I shared this information on the request form for a mattress replacement, pointing out that I have X-rays now to demonstrate how awful my back has become, and we were approved for a new mattress within 12 hours of submitting the request. If this mattress begins to be problematic, I am through with this company. There is no money back guarantee, and once you sink more than $3700 into this mattress, you're stuck with the brand and the endless round of mattress replacements. I do not recommend this product or the company. I anticipate that one day some savvy individual will sue this company after all of the damages their mattresses have caused on so many trusting consumers. For the money, you can do so much better with many other quality mattresses.

I figured I got a lemon so I called and had them replaced which took me about a month. The following year, the foundation broke again. So, I thought I just am not lucky at all. Again, I called the unfriendly customer service/warranty folks at Tempur-Pedic and replaced the foundation. They could not get me the one I purchased because the color I had was discontinued.

OK...about a month ago, the foundation broke again! I think I was being more than patient and understanding but this is totally inexcusable. As a result and for the third time, I called Tempur-Pedic yet again to replace my foundation. After about 2 weeks, I haven't heard from them so I called again only to find out my order was never placed. I was furious at this juncture because Tempur-Pedic customer service representative evidently thought I just called to say hello.

My experience with Tempur-Pedic is absolutely terrible -- the product is very poorly manufactured and their customer service department needs lots of training. A business like this selling high-end mattress for thousands of $ should not treat people this way. If anyone asks me about Tempur-Pedic products, I will simply state to stay away from them. There are too many cheaper options without having to deal with this silliness. My previous mattress was a no name memory foundation which is still being used any issues for the past 15 years. And the sad thing is that I paid 1/4 of what I paid for the rip-off Tempur-Pedic mattress and foundation.

I suffer with chronic hip pain due to a genetic deformity. In 2010, I purchased a Sealy mattress from Mattress Firm. The pain that I experienced from that mattress was indescribable. I returned the mattress and worked with my sales associate to find the right mattress. She recommended the Tempur-Pedic Cloud Supreme. The second I laid on it I knew I had found "the one." I also purchased 3 of the Tempur-Pedic "squishy" pillows.

Five years, a husband with chronic back pain, a difficult pregnancy, and now osteoarthritis in the hip and an RA diagnosis...I could not be happier!! My daily pain is significantly reduced. I am able to sleep well and through the night with little to no pain. My husband also wakes up refreshed and without significant back pain. My Tempur has held up well and is more comfortable now than it was when I bought it. I am slightly disappointed in the pillows, though. They have not held up as well as I would have expected for the $150 price tag/each (now go for $120). I love my bed!! It was the best investment I ever made for myself.

We are talking about a couple around the 70's. I call the customer service and I told them that I would like to replace for a lower one 4.5 inch. For my surprise they answered that they don't accept returns on accessories unless the parts show some defects. Despite several requests saying that I wasn't return it to get my money back but only to replace it for a lower leg they didn't even paid attention to my words and I had to place another order and pay again and making me keep a set in my storage room that I won't be able to use. It is the worst customer service in all USA. I do not know how do they expect to improve their reputation with this kind of service.

I had high hopes Tempurpedic would solve my awful sleep issues. I carefully consulted with a local mattress dealer - Mancini Sleepworld and chose the Cloud Supreme, and when that model was horrible soft and sagging I went for the Contour Elite. To make a long story short I can say I ended up foolishly purchasing 2 different models in desperation. Don't even try and return these you will waste your time. Here are the issues:

    (1) You are completely fooled by trying these out in the store for a few minutes. They feel firm and solid with great support. It takes about an hour for your body to completely adjust (foam reacts to body heat) and on both models I purchased they sagged horribly during the night. They really ARE like quicksand. You very slowly sink lower and lower until you are sleeping on a board with horrible alignment. I woke up in dire agony with back and shoulder pain. My neck was so misaligned as my body slowly sank into a center mould. I've never experience such pain and discomfort in my life. I was going insane from lack of sleep and joint pain and finally had to sleep on my couch. (2) The toxic fumes from this foam is awful - be very careful. (3) They are very hot and clammy. I even tried a gel cool top with no relief. So, I forked over 5K for lousy foam mattresses that are on the way to the Salvation Army. Never again.

I used to sleep on other mattresses and have my hand go numb or really bad sharp pain in my shoulders, none of those issues with this bed. Some reviewers said it ruined their sex, not so. I am 6' 0" and 275 lbs and love the bed. I guess you are supposed to rotate the bed horizontally, so will do that next time sheets are changed. I have tried to file a warranty claim with this mattress twice before and was told that a warranty packet was being sent to me to file a claim.

Upon making a third phone call today, I was told that because the mattress does not have a defect, there is nothing that can be done due to it being like a slab of concrete. I feel that this is not right due to their being a warranty whether it is a defect of not. We paid $2400 dollars for a mattress and box springs and now you are telling me that basically I am screwed. I do not know the receipt number even though they gave it to me when I had called the two previous times and told me that they were sending me a warranty packet. We bought the hybrid and allegedly best bed on the market, Tempur-Pedic's air and memory foam combination. The bed is so poor, it collapses in the middle. The bed seems to lose air although the meters show it is not, but worst of all, no acting on warranty. We literally both wake up bent over in pain, the LUMBAR collapses but your head and feet stay higher no matter what you do. So it feels like a bad night in a hammock. Worst yet, a ridge has seemingly developed in the middle that makes this feel like we can barely touch each other.

So, what to do, call them right? They have this AMAZING warranty but they ask you to take 10 days (over the phone) and go through all these odd steps. That is how they faze you out, you have to answer 100 questions, they do not send out REPS as stores will have you believe and I do think we are going to have to suck it up and literally throw out a $4000+ mattress. Like others, I am sleeping on the couch just so I can walk in the morning and we are both in our early 40's not late 60's. This mattress was made 2 years ago and we've had it 18 months. The first 2 weeks were good, ever since then we thought we could not find our right combination of air and memory foam until we realized it was not us, it was the POS bed we are sleeping on in our bedroom. The "comfort pillows" at $200 each, have yet to get more comfortable and are good for nothing as well - rock hard, POS and I would give them to your dog to play with rather than buying them.

Unfortunately I have lung problems and must clean under the bed often to avoid dust buildup. It has become a major project every week to clean under the bed and change the sheets. The cords are constantly tangled in the dusters and you have to crawl all around to avoid messing up the cords . My husband has to pull the sheets down with quite a bit of force as they are way too small to go over the mattress's air hoses and they are Cal King sheets! It took about 3 weeks to get used to the way the bed sleeps but it is ok now. But all the other problems make it very undesirable. I started looking into the issue and realized that we aren't the only ones having these issues.

Both of us are having back pain, sleepless nights and worried we may have made the wrong choice seeing other consumers really struggle with the warranty process. We're hardly overweight and busy working parents - our sleep or loss of it is killing us. We've recently been sleeping on our old spring mattress that we've had for over 12 years. It's now down in our guest bedroom. Seems crazy to be getting a better nights sleep in our guest bedroom on our old mattress. We don't feel safe because this leaves our 7 and 4 yr daughters alone upstairs at night and us in the basement.

We've recently stayed in two different hotel rooms and had far better sleep as well. Doesn't seem right for the $3,000 dollar price tag and being sold on a mattress that will last. The old spring mattress has been the one that's lasted. I'm dreading going through the warranty process. We just want our sleep back and what we were promised originally. Until then I guess we'll continue to sleep in the basement worried about the safety of our little girls. We hooked up our old baby monitor in their room. This doesn't help with the sleep at all.

We have owned our mattress for 3 yrs now without any issues. We decided to buy a new mattress cover and put it on and that's when we found it. You see you're not supposed to flip the mattress which is why we just now found it. We had to stand the mattress up to remove the old cover and there was MOLD all over the back of the mattress/cover and all. You see when you sweat, it apparently goes all the way through and according to Tempur-Pedic rep, you are not to use any cleaners or even water to clean it up. You are to only dry up any moisture you find. Anyway after talking, sending photos, and her telling my husband that everything we did and were told to do with the mattress when we purchased it - we did wrong and that is why we got the mold (check out some YouTube videos) - the Temp rep tells my husband despite now apparently while it was ALL our fault, they will still replace it.

So, in the e-mail it states that it's no way a manufacturer default and while the guarantee for 20 yrs, if this happens again they will not replace again. How is this issue our fault and the fault of all the other complaints we found through Google? We never spilled anything on the mattress but, yes we did have to clean the mold off (I have allergies and mold is not healthy anyway). We were never told that you are supposed to place the mattress on "Bunky Boards (??)" - our bed is in an old waterbed frame. Rep said do not use a sheet of plywood and don't use a box spring. I've purchased the cloud supreme breeze and am very disappointed. We've had it for two weeks and it feels NOTHING like it did in the store. The bed is a brick. Why on earth would a large national company not take steps to "break in a mattress" properly after being manufactured instead of delivering a product that feels nothing like what we've been sold at the store? I am a business owner as well and it only makes sense to DELIVER the same product you displayed to your customers. I have not had one decent night's sleep since buying this mattress and am being told to "give it time to adjust"...

My night's sleep is MUCH more valuable to me than few thousand dollars and I would gladly have paid much more money to get those nights back. Now, I am stuck with this mattress until I pay $300 and wait to have ANOTHER mattress sent to me THAT DOESN'T FEEL LIKE IT DID IN THE STORE. How is a consumer supposed to determine the right mattress for themselves at the store if what they lay on isn't what is delivered after the sale? How many night's sleep do I have to sacrifice until the mattress decides it will become as it was when shown in the store? This is A HUGE business flaw and how do I know the next mattress is going to be better for me without sacrificing ANOTHER several weeks or months night's sleep? Give me exactly what you showed me at the store when I handed you THOUSANDS of very hard earned dollars!

It makes me wonder if this entire SHIPPING charge scheme wasn't designed to add more difficulty to the return process. Also, I paid $3,000 for a mechanical functioning frame and now I'm stuck with it having to choose another Tempur-Pedic mattress since you don't take these back after sending me a mattress that didn't feel ANYTHING like it did in the store. Also, you gave me in store credit to buy non refundable items of which you will charge me Full Price when I return my mattress. Is this sounding like integrity or is this sounding like a business model that was designed to make it more difficult for the customer to return the product?

I want NOTHING MORE than to receive the AMAZING mattress I was sold during my visit to the store. You can NOT expect people to be happy with being told to "walk on your mattress daily" or "allow months for it to be broken in". No amount of money is worth weeks or months of a horrible night's sleep while we HOPE the mattress will break in to the level of yours in the store. How will we know the mattress delivered to us isn't defective? You only gave us 90 days to try it out and during our trial period, the mattress isn't broken in yet. I don't care who you are, if you read what I just laid out as to why I am upset, you can't help but to think there is a huge flaw in your companies logic.

Break in the mattress at the factory and deliver the same product we sampled at your store. Don't play games with us by offering to deliver the mattress for free, but then if we accepted the free shipping offer (who wouldn't!) make us pay $300 to return the mattress (that doesn't feel like the one you sold is in the store). Don't offer us in store credit to be used on items that if we return the mattress, we will be charged RETAIL price which will be deducted from the amount you return to us (sounds like double dipping to me). Don't sell us a mechanical bed frame that can't be returned EVEN WHEN YOU SEND US A MATTRESS THAT DOESN'T FEEL LIKE IT DID IN THE STORE.

Guys, your product in your store was AMAZING, but how do you expect me to feel when I've not sleep a wink in 2 weeks and all your company keeps telling me is "allow for a break in period"? I can't return the product without losing $4000 in the bed frame, pillows, mattress toppers and SHIPPING CHARGES. I guess you got me and I'm just going to have to suffer through many more night's sleep AND HOPE my mattress breaks in by the 90 day trial. If not, your company still has me bent over a barrel because I'm going to have to pay a lot of money and more importantly, TIME to fix the problem. ALL OF THIS WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE IF YOU JUST SENT YOUR CUSTOMERS A MATTRESS THAT WAS AS IT WAS IN THE STORE.

20 minutes after I submitted a review, they declined it and they replied to me via an email address that I could not respond to. Wonderful.

I have had a TempurPedic for 6 months and thoroughly regret it. This was an expensive firm model and it's getting mushy, soft...no support. And...it already has permanent sway valleys. I am 5'10", 178 pounds, so it's not as if I am too heavy for the bed. The foam doesn't last (stay firm). It just becomes softer day after day. It doesn't provide support and doesn't match up to its marketing hype. I will get a Sleep Number or a standard spring mattress to replace it. Anything would be better than a TempurPedic. And...this is all after 6 months.

We purchased a rhapsody breeze queen mattress on 4/19/2014. The box spring we purchased was the sand queen box spring [high profile] that we paid $240 dollars. No issues with the mattress. The box spring has been a total disaster. The 1st one had the rivets pop up like nails pressing against the mattress. The second one delivered started to squeak after 2 months. The 3rd one delivered was warped and I did not accept delivery as it was worst than the one they were replacing. I am now waiting on the 4th to be delivered hoping this will be the right one. Also I need to add that I purchased the box spring because it matched in color with the mattress. And now I have to accept whatever color they have as they do not have the matching color anymore. Four box springs within a year. Not a good product.

We purchased a Tempur-Pedic mattress a few weeks ago from Mattress Firm. It was the BEST purchase we have ever made!! I was up at least ten times per night with my back.. not once with the new mattress! My husband is sleeping more sound than he has in years! He is actually remembering his dreams. This has never happened in 26 years of marriage! He actually overslept today which has not happened in 30+ years!!! Our pets love it too!!! lol. So glad we made this purchase!!! This mattress is DEFINITELY worth the money!!!!

My wife and I fell prey to the "Last mattress you'll ever buy" scheme 2 years ago and purchased a top of the line Tempur-Pedic King mattress to the tune of $4200.00. At the time it was their newest and best model. It was a hard pill to swallow on price but they had financing at the store so when they broke it down monthly it didn't seem too bad of a price to pay for the ultimate sleep. Here's what happened. 1st it took over a month for the off gassing of industrial plastic smell to dissipate, in fact the delivery men suggested leaving the windows open (in January, in the north east part of the country!) and mattress uncovered for 3-4 days? It gave us headaches and stunk the house up.

2 - It took us 4 months each to adjust to the bed, very uncomfortable sleep, but after 4 months we had the best sleep experiences for the next 6 months... simply incredible. 3 - At the 10th month we noticed each side had started to sag where we each slept, like a hammock effect. If you like to move and change positions while sleeping forget about it. This mattress locks you into one position till morning at that time you have to hook your ankle on the edge of the bed and pry yourself towards the edge to roll out. 4 - When waking up we started feeling hip and leg pain, like when you prop your head up too much and get a stiff neck but it's in your hips.

5 - The bed we bought was supposed to eliminate hot and cold spots because of breathing cells… **, depending on your body you'll sweat (me) or freeze (my wife). 6 - We ended up spinning the mattress 180 deg. They tell you not to do that, but we got a few more tolerable months sleep doing it till the sag came back with a vengeance. Now the only firm areas of the bed that are like it was when new are 10" on either edge, 12" of either end (foot/head area), and a 12" strip down the center.

I have just asked Tempur-Pedic to send me warranty paperwork as the mattress has a 25 year warranty on it. I am expecting them to fight it. If you feel the need to try a Tempur-Pedic buy an off brand for less than half the cost or more. Then if you don't like it you're not in a $3-$5000.00 hole. We bought Tempur-Pedic (knock offs) with a memory foam tops from a discount store new for $300 (2 queens) for our kids. They feel just like our bed did new! ** if I could buy one of those beds at $300-$400 every year for the next 12 years for the price I paid for one piece of ** Tempur-Pedic mattress. We both see a chiropractor monthly and my hip are always out of position. I also sleep on a couch now and sometimes the floor - nothing like staring at a $4000.00 bed from the floor?

One more thing, if you are a sexually active couple you can forget that as well. There is no practical/comfortable position to do it in as you both sink into the mattress depending on you weights and positions. There is also no solid areas to brace or balance yourself on… Yes, Tempur-Pedic will ruin your sex life too! So don't believe the hype… Nothing but snake oil salesman - buyer beware. Read and heed all the warnings you see on this site. I wish I had found this site before buying!!!

After writing my first review, I contacted the MD of Tempur by email and, within a few hours, I was offered an upgraded replacement mattress free of charge. I'm hoping that the replacement will not cause the same problems as my original Tempur mattress - but if it lasts 6 years I will be happy, as I bought the original expecting it to last 10-15 years. So well done Tempur management, for sorting this out so speedily and without fuss.

    Original Review: March 10, 2015

I bought my Tempur mattress 7 years ago because I had a bad back. For the first couple of years it was great - though I was waking up with a headache everyday and, at the time, never connected it to the mattress. I suspect it's something to do with the antibacterial/antifungal agent they use. Last year I started having problems with my back again, culminating last week in almost being unable to get out of bed. Then it occurred to me that after half an hour or so, every morning, my back was fine again. So I enlisted the help of the great and mighty Google and found others having the same problem - I had noticed that the middle of the mattress (where I always sleep) had started sagging a long while ago and was much softer than the edges.

So I contacted Tempur as the mattresses are guaranteed for 15 years. They sent me the instructions on how to check and what photos to take. I've done all that and the middle of the mattress is sagging by just a fraction over 2cm. Okay so far. And then I read the terms of the guarantee! Because it's 7 years old I have to pay 20% of the price of a replacement - from them that's 600!!! I could get a better mattress from elsewhere for that, and anyway, I can't afford it. When I bought the mattress I assumed that the extortionate price paid was because it would last me over 10 years. I did not expect it to last 5 and then start giving me backache! So if anyone reading this is thinking of buying one of these mattresses - DON'T. You'll regret it if you do!

I made payments to 'Rooms to Go' on a interest free payment plan; with $2,000.00 down and $2,000.00 paid in 2 years and 20 year warranty. I bought it in 2010 and paid it off on time (one month prior to due date). It was purchased @ the store located @ 410/Blanco Rd. Now the mattress I purchased was a floor model which the 'Rooms to Go' gave me a $400.00 discount. At approx. this time I discovered several faults in the mattress, tears in the foam. When I called the store they came I "bought the bed as is." I SAID, "WHAT ABOUT THE 20 YR. WARRANTY?" THEY JUST LAUGHED! DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!! I am calling the company (Tempur-Pedic).

We have owned our Tempur-Pedic and we could have been the folks to do a commercial for them. Now that we have a warranty claim I have found they do not stand behind their product. We have had the product less than a year and it failed. The dealer cannot talk to customer service, only us. They will not replace the product with what we had because it was discontinued. To replace it costs an extra $800. To replace it with something less still costs money and of course this product doesn't exist because that's been discontinued too. So the choice is pay more money for a better product or pay money for a lesser product because prices have gone up. I find them very disingenuous and won't ever buy another product from them again

We had two earlier Tempurpedic mattresses with no problems, but the mattress we purchased over 3 weeks ago continues to emit an almost suffocating thick smell. It permeates the entire room and clings to sheets and blankets. I have a medical grade air purifier, and it can't remove the smell. I leave the windows open all day in spite of very cold temperatures, and it barely helps. This smell is way beyond a "new mattress smell". I have severe allergies and asthma. This mattress has triggered two asthma attacks and leaves me very congested.

I have had no help at all from emails or calls to Tempurpedic. They put me on hold and say they have two many emails to respond promptly. Why doesn't Tempurpedic have a warning label for asthmatic or allergic reactions? What chemicals are they using? My local dealer told us to stomp on the mattress until it discharged the smell! Why doesn't Tempurpedic press out the chemical smell if possible? I use an oxygen concentrator at night, and I'm afraid that it is pulling harmful chemicals into my lungs. A replacement mattress would be the same problem all over again. Is Tempurpedic going to recall these mattresses? What has to happen to someone's health before they get this situation in hand.
