Microsoft Office

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I had purchased my laptop from Dell and got the product key for Microsoft Office 2010. But the same is showing invalid while inputting the same in the system for activating the software. I have to do a very urgent piece of work but unable to do the same due to such problem. I request you to kindly look into the same urgently.

I recently purchased the Ultimate Steal from Microsoft. Now my email does not work since the Outlook 2010 program replaced Outlook Express. Contacting Microsoft went nowhere on the phone system, and I have to wonder about the customer service (I am unemployed and do not understand the audacity to say "call back during normal business hours"). Bill Gates should be ashamed of himself for not showing some company leadership to say the least.

After trying to activate my Microsoft Office Professional 2010 through Microsoft, I was directed to contact the agency from where I purchased it, namely Amazon.com. I tried to activate this software online, but the code (product key: **) will not activate. I called Microsoft, explained the difficulties I was having and asked for solutions. The only thing they could recommend was to call Amazon and ask them to rectify the problem. Apparently, this is a resold item which is not for resale. Now, after talking to Eric from amazon, who tried to call you (no answer), suggested I try this method to contact you. Now, I'm asking you politely to fix this problem so my Microsoft Office 2010 will activate. Please provide me with a new product code, otherwise I will have to contact Amazon again to ask for a refund on this product. Please respond to my e-mail address at: **

I just bought Office 2011 for Mac and clicked to download it from the MS site. Download has stalled. I went to their support page. I filled out forms. I was contacted by a chat window, typed in my request for help. But submitting was not possible. I tried clicking on links to email my request for help and got no less than 5 broken links. I am wildly upset. This has taken me two hours.

I had Microsoft Office Home and Student installed when I bought my new computer in 2010 and I have the disk I bought. But now that I want to use it, I get the message that my trial has expired and I have to pay to have it installed again. I sent my product key as instructed and it thanks me and then tells me all over again that my trial has expired. I never purchased a trial, I purchased the complete software.

I uninstalled Office Enterprise 2007 and then attempted to reinstall it. After accepting license #, it starts install only to report error code "cannot find PowerPoint.en-us\PptLR.cab." That file can be seen under PowerPoint.en-us, but installation program refuses any attempt to reach it so it cancels the installation. Since others report same problem, it is obvious that Microsoft has built into the installation program that "self-destruct" mechanism requiring one to purchase a newer version of the office suite. The Microsoft website suggests (disingenuously one would say since my version is on a hard drive, not on CD or DVD that one should see about "cleaning" the CD/DVD).

I purchased Microsoft Office 2007 Professional to use on my server for my business. It states on the box that the software will work in a Windows Server 2003 operating system. It does not open files and gives me the error "will not work on terminal server." When I called tech support, they wanted to charge me $259 for support. Why is it that we spend hundreds of dollars for software, and then cannot get support the day after we install it?

I purchased MS Office Professional 2010 Student edition, but it did not work. I then purchased the regular Office Professional 2010, but it still does not work. It is bad enough that Office 2010 is extremely slow in opening. I have had hundreds of problems with this version, from freezing programs, not responding programs, and even losing my work, and not being able to retrieve it. Just now, I was writing a lengthy email and was almost finished. I lost it because Outlook just shut down. I was chatting online with Microsoft. The chatting window cleared out and lost the chat, and I had to sign in. I have repaired Office 2010 several times. It only works for a little while and then it starts again, malfunctioning. How can a conglomerate sell something so useless and take people's money? This is a clear case of fraud. Now, I am out hundreds of dollars. I will be going back to Office 2007 so I can do my work.

I bought Microsoft Office 2010 and it is supposed to be able to be used on 3 computers. It timed out after minimal use and said it needed to be reactivated. I could not reactivate online and had to call and waste my time using the telephone for a 120 dollar product. Then, I spoke with someone who didn't speak English and was told that I must activate it on all my computers and call back each time. The person was so unhelpful and we couldn't understand each other well at all.

Why do I have to go through this added trouble in order to activate a product that said it was activated but timed out? At the very least, it would be nice to speak to someone who actually speaks English so they could understand my issue. I asked for the name and all and I was hung up on! What kind of ** business is Microsoft running now? I understand it's because we don't have a choice in order to use the products. Do the people not understand how much people hate this but are forced into it due to class room reasons, or does anyone even care?

I want to start page numbering in the middle of a document in Word 2010 and instead of a menu option by MS you need to jump through about 10-15 steps that I cannot follow.

This is definitely a flaw in their Word program and makes one wonder about their motivation, lack of concern for the customer or just the ineptness of the programmers.

I don't want another list of steps to do this I want an update in Word that has a menu driven answer that merely ask you what page you want to start numbering. This should not be difficult for MS to program if they truly have concern for the consumer.

I am glad MS has not written a program to start an automobile.

I bought a product from them. Microsoft Office. They did not clearly state their return policy. No refunds for downloaded software. That is not the issue. The software they sold me doesn't work! They weren't willing to even look at the problem.

They kept sending me links to their return policy which I clearly understand. But you can't sell me a defective product, not help to fix it, then say tough luck. That is horrible to pay for something you didn't even get. And worse they don't even try to help! That is wrong and sad. After many attempts to ask for help with the software or talk about the defective product they just ignore it.

I had purchased six OEM copy of Windows XP Professional of Microsoft product. I was surprised to see that the software did not pass the OEM test. I had sent OEM certificate in PDF folder to the Microsoft support center:support@microsoft.com as per their instruction.

I wanted to report this issue directly to Microsoft, but it looks like charges may apply when I went to their contact site. I upgraded to windows 7 and Microsoft office 2010 and found them both to be the most frustrating products to deal with and I've been using Windows since it was DOS 3.1.

Running two monitors and 8 gigs RAM, I have to wait several seconds to advance a PowerPoint presentation and the RAM usage is savagely spiking on all 4 processors while watching the show - it's pathetic that's with the CPU usage at only 2%.

I love how Microsoft puts out software before it's ready, lets us do all the work and lose valuable time (and productivity when it crashes) while they continue to update the software for the rest of our lives. There should be laws about how often they can put-out new operating systems that forces the world to conform to their inferior (and getting worse) products.

6 months after buying a second hand PC and disabling internet explorer, I keep getting a notice that my copy of windows is invalid and counterfeit. Why did they not decide that it is an invalid copy after using it for 6 months? Now they want me to give them a product key that I have no way of acquiring so I will have to pay them another some 300 dollars to buy the same windows 7 Ultimate. How in the world can they do that? If it is invalid why wouldn't that show up as soon as I started using it?

I have a Office '95 CD that I tried to install on my new computer but Microsoft would not accept the key #. I contacted Microsoft for assistance and was informed that I would have to purchase a new 2010 Office. I am happy with my '95 Office and cannot afford to purchase the CD.

I purchased an E-Machine ET1161-07 last year and in a few months was restricted use on Microsoft Word and Excel. I don't have the required I.D. number requested by Microsoft, so am at their mercy unless I forfeit $'s. As a result, all my existing word and Excel folders are frozen to me. This is such an invasion on a senior citizen and should be legally outlawed.

I beta tested Microsoft Office 2010. The beta test expires on October 31 and Office 2010 becomes read only. I cannot reload Office 2007 which was deleted as part of the loading process for Office 2010. So, I will be without the software I owned and not able to use the software I tried out for Microsoft's beta test. I can't really afford the upgrade cost and I got no response from Microsoft.

I tried out Word 2010 and chose not to buy the upgrade. However, all my previous documents that were in Word 2003 were, without my consent, converted to Word 2010 during the trial period, and now cannot be edited.

I am a user of Microsoft Windows Live Messenger. Recently, my account was blocked and it was alleged that I sent out lots of junk mails of which I had no knowledge of. I tried to seek online help from their Help Center but I have been going around in circles because many of the pages could not be displayed. I think Microsoft is too big and they do not care about customer services anymore!

I was told by Microsoft that they could help me find a solution to why Outlook 2003 was not working correctly on my system and for $49. They would log on to my computer and fix it. If they were not able to fix it then I would not be charged.

After a while I was told that Windows7 isn't compatible with Outlook 2003 and that they would transfer me to their Windows live department. I was transferred, then hung up on. Called back and after being transferred another 3 times was told that MicroSoft does not have a Windows live department and that I would have to go online and find the solution.

I then received a follow-up email from Kumar ** asking to comment on their support service. I responded to him to send a confirmation email that my credit card would not be charged since there was solution as they had promised. I then received a case closed email 2 days later saying my credit card was charged!

My old computer crashed with all info on it including product# on works suite 2003. I spoke with three reps and they told me I had to pay 50.00 for a new one. I read them all info on disc but that wasn't good enough. Here is what is on the disc- part# xo8-91742 on the back3's are xo8-91743 and bh911-01. They have it on file by the way. Why should I pay again so they profit of consumers like me?

I am an owner of the Office 2003 software. It's not hijacked, borrowed, stolen or otherwise. After a system crash on Windows XP, I went to re-install the software. An error message came up and told me I had exceeded the allowed number of re-installs and my license key no longer worked. In other words, MS has decided to install an arbitrary number of opportunities to re-install software I purchased from them. Despite the fact I paid for it, my use of it is not only limited but decided with no chance for recourse.

When contacting MS for support and options, there is no option that does not include payment. The cheapest method is via e-mail, and that is a $99 charge! There is no other manner in which to contact MS for support. If there was ever an actionable incident, this must be it. A corporate limit to use of purchased goods, and then forced to pay an exorbitant fee to have it "solved". And let us not forget those "technicians" on the other end of the line are not techs, but people reading from a computer screen that provides answers for every question.

I will be thrilled to purchase another MAC. Soon, loss of office productivity since the software failed. A dollar figure would have to be several hundred dollars in time and effort, and the number keeps climbing.

Two times now, when I have downloaded a new version of Internet Explorer, I have ended up with missing driver files. These just happen to be the files you need to change search engine default to Google, which I know is a big competitor of theirs. The first time, I paid for software to replace them. This time, they cannot be replaced as the problem is hard coded into my system. This causes an error message when I boot up and when I try to change search engine default. Clever way to get one to use their search engine.

My printer won't print and I get a spooler message telling me to contact Microsoft, the problem being, they want me to pay them. I just purchased my product this year so why do I have to bleed more money to a product they sold me and it's not performing to standard? I really want to throw this product in the trash because of the problems I have had with it.

I was able to print, but now I can't. I can't even view earlier versions of windows with this product. Why not? I paid a lot of money for this headache and someone should be available to fix this problem, and not refer me to some do-it yourself website, or some IT professionals who are snobby because they think they are above me and look down on me like trash.

I just bought an HP Elite 7100 Microtower PC with Windows 7 and Office 2007. When I tried to register the Office 2007 programs, no product key was provided. I contacted several HP and Microsoft online supports with no assistance from any of them. This complaint is addressing the Microsoft online chat support. They give free support for the first 15 minutes then charge $35. They wasted the 15 minutes with long delays between responses and trying to sell me other services (support package for $300). As for my problem, they said Microsoft no longer provides product keys for Office 2007 but they could give me a beta version of Office 2010 for free until October. I already paid for Office 2007 with my PC and am not interested in paying for a beta version. I disconnected the session without getting anything resolved. Microsoft is holding my Office 2007 hostage trying to extort more money for other programs. I can't use my new computer without the Office 2007 programs.

I called and spoke with Chris, who told me that it was Digital River that sold me the Microsoft Product and I needed to call them. Then I called and spoke to May, I could not understand many of the words she was saying due to her extremely heavy accent in her speech. I told her that I had just purchased the 'The Ultimate Steal' packaged for the Microsoft Office 2007 for college students and back up DVD on 03/28/10 and it instructed me to download the product, but did not have a download link nor button. She kept saying yes and did not have a clue of what I had explained to her several times.

She was in Manila, Philippines. She then transferred me and I spoke to Rain and she understood very little English as well and did the exact same mimic of "yes, yes, Okay" and it will take 24 to 48 hours for someone to send me a link to the product I had just purchased. I want to have a site that I could get the link for the program software to complete a school assignment, and did not feel I should have to wait so long after they already had my money. She then transferred me again to Roy in Toronto, Canada and he stated I would have to call Digital River and give them the same information that I had just given three times.

This number is closed on weekends and open only Mon-Fri. I asked for a complaint contact number or email and he said that there was not any sort of complaint number to contact anyone. Roy was told that made no sense at all and Microsoft was a complete rip off. Because of this, I am unable to complete a work assignment for the university project, got ripped off for 72.95 and suffered mental distress from being transferred from one country to another without any resolve.

So I made the mistake of trying an Office 2007 trial version. I figured if I didn't like it or more likely, didn't see enough of a benefit to fork over the dough, I could always go back to my 2003 version. Wrong.

The 2007 version installed "over" the 2003, incorporating the earlier version into itself. Now that the trial period has ended, the computer's office products are largely frozen. I can access documents, for example, but I can't edit them or even cut and paste the data. I'm told that the only way to go back to the way things were is to uninstall 2007 and reinstall 2003. Simple enough, except that at some point in the intervening years, I lost the 2003 disks and the Product Code Number.

It seems to me that the world's most sophisticated software company should be able to tell that I have a legitimately installed 2003 system below my now-frozen 2007 system. It seems to me that a company with a concern for its customers would set up the trial version of 2007 to automatically revert to the 2003 version if the customer chose not to upgrade.

But the real kicker is that I can't even contact Microsoft about this without losing money. They charge $49 to discuss, via email or phone, any problems you might have with the Office Suite, if you don't happen to have your product code handy. It's as if I walked into a car dealership, was enticed into trying out a new car for a few days, then when I returned it got told that not only could I not get my old car back but that I couldn't even complain to the dealership about it without being charged for the privilege!

My Gateway with XP died. I had to get new computer. A Dell with Vista preinstalled. I've had so many compatibility problems. Unfortunately, I got rid of my original XP disks. I am very dissatisfied with Vista. Please supply me with an official XP set OD disks (step by step) to put XP back on my machine.

A couple of months ago, I tried to copy a scanned document from my printer onto my documents. I tried until four o'clock in the morning and it was so frustratingly difficult to do. Why was it so hard? Because my Home Edition Office Suite Windows XP on my computer had been hijacked by Microsoft's free trial of their Microsoft Office 7 program. I absolutely hated the free trial program but since it would "go away" after the free trial expired at the end of February, I just left it alone and patiently waited for the day that I would get my Home Edition Office Suite Windows XP back March 1st.

Well, March 1st, I did not get my Home Edition Office Suite back. Instead, I had the free trial of the Microsoft Windows 7 with the note directing me to install it and pay for it, or uninstall it in my add/remove program and if I did not remove the free trial in my add/remove program, then I could not access or use my own--already installed and paid for many years ago, Home Edition Office Suite Windows XP programs. So I followed the instruction and uninstalled the free trial of the of the Microsoft Office 7 program.

Immediately after uninstalling Microsoft's free trial, my entire Microsoft Home Edition Office Suite programs disappeared. My restore program won't work now and all requests for help on the Microsoft forum and customer service online submissions from me have been completely ignored. My phone call to the Microsoft office in my city of Winnipeg was useless because their "mail box was full." I still have the CDs with the Microsoft Home Edition Office Suite Windows XP so I can have the programs re-installed but I need help to do that.

I have no money to pay anyone to do that for me and I don't know how to do that myself. I understand that Microsoft could, if they so desired, re-install my entire Home Edition Office Suite for my Windows XP for me online and that is what I want them to do. It is not fair to hijack and then remove programs from my computer just to market and sell their new program.

My child and I are disabled and use the Office Suite programs daily for school and work, we are both falling behind. She has learning disorders and an anxiety problem that are being worsened by the loss of her access to the tools she needs. I am not going to meet my deadlines and am beginning to have headaches from this inability to resolve what should be an easy problem to resolve. We now need to go to the library to use the computers there but there is a 15-minute time limit at the library on their computers.

I paid for Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007, Microsoft Office Language Pack 2007 and License Lock Key for a total of $209.72. I received order confirmation on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 10:37:01. I have not received the CD or DVD until now, Feb. 24, 2010 17:17. I ask for the CD or a refund.

This morning, Microsoft Windows told me to upgrade to Microsoft Internet Explorer 8. So I did. Ever since then, Microsoft Outlook 2002 has not worked properly. It gives me several annoying error messages. A Microsoft support person "Sen" tried many configuration changes, and none worked. He finally decided that Outlook 2002 was not compatible with my version of Windows. I told him, "Well, it was compatible this morning before I did the Internet Explorer upgrade."

Sen had two suggestions for me. I could downgrade back to Internet Explorer 7 and deal with all the headaches that inevitably arise from a downgrade, which would be futile anyway because Windows will simply try to upgrade to version 8 every day as part of the Windows Update. He said my other option was to buy Outlook 2007.

Both options are unacceptable. I feel like Microsoft has built this incompatibility into their software with the purpose of requiring people to buy new software. I didn't ask for this incompatibility. Microsoft forced it upon me, and I don't like it. This will cause me aggravation every time I open my Outlook email program and every time I send my first email of the day and every time the program checks the server for messages. What a headache! My alternative is to spend hundreds of dollars on upgrades.

I ordered their product, Microsoft Office 2007 in business a month or so ago and I was not provided with a product number. They sent me a new set of DVDs and again with no product number. I am a student and I cannot afford to purchase this software again in order to maybe get a product number. They have been sending me to different numbers, websites, and customer service personnel for the past two weeks. I explained to them that I have to get this taken care of or I will have to quit my course, but all they say is, "I'm sorry but we will have to send you to someone higher up" and I never get anywhere.

I will have to drop out of this course. They don't seem to care. I am stressed out because I cannot afford to buy the program again. I have already paid for it once. I do not have the money to pay out what they want just to get a product key for something I already purchased. I even offered to fax my bank statement to prove I have already purchased it. I'm trying to put myself through school and it's been hard to do my assignments and worry about if I will have to quit just because they will not cooperate. After dealing with this for two weeks, I give up. They win. I don't have the money for what it takes to try to get through to them that I already paid. My cell bill is enormous and I paid $132 already plus everything else I have had to pay for just to go to school to better myself and it is just depressing to have to think that I have to quit just because a corporation is bigger than I am.

I purchased Windows 7 in November 2009. I have just been online asking for support to fix a minor problem. I was told, quite rudely, that they only give 3 months support for the product. This is not the case with their earlier products. If I need any support now, I have to pay D.Kr.540 for it. This is extremely poor service, and, I believe quite unlawful.

I have been a registered user of Microsoft XP Home OS user for the last 3 years. I have a very bad experience being loyal to Microsoft because this OS continuously interrupt me while working on internet work. It always sends me error to close the page when I use to work through Google search engine. I have all registered products e.g.: HP printer, Net Protector security system, Shree-Lipi Ankur Office, etc. All those who use pirated operating system are free from all such harassment. This creates mental harassment and compelled me to stop working at the times necessary.

I was invited to download Microsoft Office 2010 Beta. The program caused my system to crash, so it was removed. The problem is that my Outlook program will not load the business manager now and I have tried to contact Microsoft who would like to charge about $250 to assist.

I have tried to log on and pay this money to get the service but their system does not operate either. I do not agree with payment for this service. Now I am unable to use the program that I purchased.

I calling to CS four time, they can't solve to my questions. 29/11/09 I have install my old palm software in Win 7 but can't do it and staff said that Win 7 can't install this software I need remove this software but questions come in. 2/12/09 I call again and explain previous story to staff, he said that not concern this problem and teach to me recover the Win 7 but not work and try again, result it all system can't work. Lastly, he said that I go back you buy the stock and ask them to help. I do it.

7/12/09 I ask the outlook problem and other system problem He said that outlook problem not concern to their explain computer questions,They can't help me. I need ask to Microsoft Office. I do it but Microsoft staff explain may be my computer lost some system file.

Today 10/12/09 I call again and tell to Microsoft staff ans, [their] staff said that I can try to install all program but I tell to staff I hope you can send the staff come to my office check the computer what problem and teach me how to install the program and then my computer have not including CD Rom. So he have mean to I need buy the CD Rom firstly and then will be send the staff help me If not they can't do it. I request to staff bring the CD Rom come in,he said that this is My Company Policy, Nobody change it. I don't how to do it now.

Who help me? Wasting for my timing and I feel I have a mockery, I need buy a new CD ROM but this CD Rom may be used to one time. And then I lost my money buy the new computer because I can't install my old program cd

I installed Windows 7 and have no sound. I spent two hours on the phone with Microsoft "support" and they counldn't figure it out. I have downloaded drivers for two days, tried numerous recommendations from blog sites. Still no sound. Lenovo, the PC manufacture doesn't care because my PC is no longer under warranty. Microsoft techs seem indifferent and impotent on their blogs. MAC is looking good to me right now.

Microsoft recently sent an "important" update regarding piracy of Office Home and Student 2007. I refused to install the update. Approximately ten days after receiving the update, they removed my purchased copy of Office Home and Student 2007 and placed an activation icon on my desktop. They did not have my permission for this. When I tried to use the activation icon and reinstall my product number, it would not allow it. I had to contact them, install several ActiveX controlson my computer, and send them my product number for verification. I purchased my product from Dell some time ago and have been using it for several months. Microsoft has no right to invade my computer and remove or change any part of it without my permission. I feel this is an inalienable right. Microsoft Corporation needs to be investigated and restricted from using this "Big Brother" tactics.

I received the windows 7 upgrade and installed it on Wednesday Nov. 18th, 2009. Yesterday the 21st a message popped up stating that windows could not be activated due to some error code so I called Microsoft and spoke to John, who gave me another phone number to call to get a new product I.D. I called and spoke to Abby who refused and tranferred me back to the original number only this time I spoke to Melody (all of them have foreign accents) and are hard to understand. After finally going thru all of the instisted steps that John had me go thru, with Melody, she sent me back to the other phone number where Jeff came on the phone.

He had the worst attitude that I have ever come across in customer service, he should be fired, he obviously hates his job, mind you I did not raise my voice to him or argue etc. he was mean instantly and would not help me, kept on saying 'never mind' when I asked him to repeat himself, he ended by saying "I know who can help you" and sent me to a Spanish speaking voice message that ended by hanging up on me. This is not acceptable in any business EVEN Microsoft, they are money gouging, rude people who need to be taught a lesson in respect. Apparently my problem is my upgrade is an OEM version and Microsoft refuses to help me unless I fork out more cash to enable Windows activation. Well they don't know me, I am extremely tenacious and do not plan on cowtowing to this entity full of over blown egotistical bullies with no manners. Here we go. Good luck to the rest of you who have to suffer the arrogant ignorance of these people in Microsoft customer service, you will need it.

So many times a day ( and I have cutting edge equipment) I get the message "program not responding". Am I the only one that thinks Windows program are flawed?

I just spoke to Christine of Microsoft's Customer Service in Redmond about a problem upgrading to Windows 7. She was most unhelpful, uncooperative, and impolite. Kindly have her supervisor or team leader make it clear to her that she lives off Microsft's customers' money and that she owes each and every customer excellent and courteous service.

On September 3, 2009, I received a few e-mail advertisements from Microsoft Office and Digital River with the Subject: "Reminder: Offer Ends Soon-Convert Your Trial & Save $50...Cool Tools for Back to School, plus save $50, BUY NOW...Get Microsoft Office Home and Student for just $99.99...Buy Now..." I believed I would be purchasing this product costing $99.99 for only $49.99 with a $50 coupon/discount being applied. However, when I clink on the link saying "BUY NOW", it took me straight to the check-out page. I gave my shipping and billing info thinking the coupon will be applied at the end of the transaction. But when payment was submitted my total remained at $119.19! I was furious. I felt really duped.

I did NOT download the product hoping I would be able to simply contact Customer Service and they would help resolve this issue. I spoke to one of the Microsoft On-Line Stores Download Rep named James. I explained the situation and even forwarded the same e-mail I received from Microsoft via Digital River to him. He told me he would forward the information to the Accounting and Refund Dept. This was 9/3/09. I waited until 9/8 after receiving no Refund, and called Microsoft again and explained the info to Rep Rachel. She said a Refund was in process, and it would take approx 5 days.

After not seeing any Refund or e-mails I called back on 9/16 and spoke to Rep Lyn. She said I should be receiving a confirmation e-mail within 24-48 hrs. I waited and waited-no confirmation e-mail or check came. I finally called back 9/25 and spoke to Rep Mary who again told me she would submit a Refund request which should take approx 7 days. I told her I do not believe her or Microsoft any more, and that I wanted my Money back which I spent on a False Advertising campaign by Microsoft and Digital River.

I demanded to speak to a Manager from the Accounting Dept, and she forwarded my call to a female Manager named "Rain." She said I can use her name as a confirmation, but the Refund might not be posted to my bank until 4 days. I said I will be waiting. In the mean time I am very dissappointed with Microsoft's handling of this matter. They are quick to collect your money, but non-compliant in addressing this Consumer's complaints and returning their Money. I wish I could complain to the Better Business Burea so more people can be made aware of what I really now determine is a SCAM. It is simply False Advertisement, and Microsoft should do the Right thing and Refund my Money so I can purchase this same product at a vendor of my choosing.

Microsoft Office 2007 sucks bigtime. I am seriously considering buying a Mac. Office 2003 mysteriously crashed, taking all of my data with it. My efforts to reinstall Office 2003 have met with utter failure. What happened to the anti-trust laws in this country?

We are at the mercy of a new generation of robber barons beginning with Bill Gates!

Placed on hold and still holding for about 2hours. I called several times. However, my cell phone was hung up on after 2 hours. So I am now using my work phone to continue to be placed on hold.
I also emailed them and no response.
I also planned on going to location to get this problem resolved, location is in phiilipines (?)

I am tired of corporations that have monopolized their market and can't even offer their consumers & employees respect and appreciation. Thus, Mac's success.

It is about Office Rofessional 2007 free Trail, I have this preinstalled on my machine. Yet when I begain your engine began another download. All well and good I opted for the trial because of Outlook I feel it is a superior program. After going the email route to no avail. I was transfered to India on Sunday.

About an hour and a half latr I'mtold all is well the software had been reinstalled . So I try it it is still not function the principle problem is that outlook has no send button. No matter how many times I tried download 3 hours each time. Outlook was downloaded without a Send button.

Today I stopped the download I haven't the luxury of tying up machine for 3 hours at a time. I ran system Restore and still came up empty regaRDING OUTLOOK. I has no send / trasnsmit / submit button whatever you desire to call it. How can one evaluate the program when the offering is incomlete.

I purchased microsoft product on the 26/5/09 & sent my claim on the 7/6/09 with up most good faith my claim would be received in time. I have proof of the date it was sent to microsoft When Chasing up my $25 cheque I was advised my claim was not valid being one day out. $25 is not much to some people but it is alot to my family & I and this was reason we bought this microsoft product to be able to get a cash back of $25.

I changed the video card in my computer. Their operating system (XP pro) saw the hardware change and forced a product revalidation after it trashed the majority of my files. After 5 calls to their support line where I'd explain the problem and get shugffled around person to person untiul eventually the saystem would play an automated message saying your call cannot be handled at this time, whereupon I'd get hung up on and restart the entire process.

This is the second time their anti piracy feature trasehes my computer software form a simple hardware change. Their system apparently accroding to their tech support said my registration number was not valid. Well when I had to completely reinstall the os which of course measn I have to spend literally days reinstalling all my legally purchased apps, the number on the DVD of the legally purchased xp installation disc works fine.Their anti piracy software is causing unti8ld hours of wasted time by legitimate customers having to reinstal their os from scratch because it forces it after simple things like a cmos update or a video card change. I think our time should be compensated.

Why does it take 4x as long to uninstall Office 2007 as to boot it 1st (and then have to restart). It looks like [they] want to force us to use office 2007 instead of the perfectly good '97 version I paid good money for and is good for me.

Maybe I'll blog this and see what others think.

Here it is. I remember when I was first introduced to Microsoft's Offcie products (word, excel, etc ....) and did not have any trouble adapting since it was logical and accessible.

Recently, our company was required to switch to office 2007. I have been at this for two weeks now and my ability to use the new interface is nothing short of an unreasonable and unessessary challenge.

My ability as a medium to advanced user is severely crippled due to the illogical/misleading cues. I reject the idea that the designers of 2007 were unable to build upon the previous human interface and so too should have Bill Gates (or others in charge) when presented with the extreme make-over of this vitally important business tool. If I could find and alternate to microsoft, I would switch in a heart beat.

Lost productivity, unable to fullfill my duties, unable to creatively use the microsoft products.

Purchased and installed Office Pro 2007 as an upgrade. Outlook 2007 crashes evertime I use it and I have to reboot. So slow - takes forever. I spend half my working day dealing with the crashes and reboots.

There are no website with solutions, but there is quick and easy access to their paid support lines. When I called their tech support they said the crashes were a known problem related to settings and that it would cost me $50, for starters, for the fix. The program is non-functional without the fix and they are holding consumers hostage for the fix which, in my opinion, is consumer fraud in not disclosing the known issues at the time of purchase. Microsoft is becoming another monopoly too big to fail. We need legislation to undo some of the mess when it gets out of control.

Considerable problems with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Windows operating systems dating back to 1995 These products fail to work. I discarded all MS products on PC in favour of buying an Apple Mac three years ago. Since then I have not suffered a single crash or application failure.

Lost valuable material, since changing to Apple not a single problem has been experienced in three and a half years.

On approx. 10/14/08, Microsoft notified me of an update to my computer. I clicked on the notice and it was for Windows XP Service Pack 3. I allowed it to download it because I trusted Microsoft's suggestion to install it. The next morning, I could not boot my computer and the update totally crashed it. I was on the phone to Microsoft and they were getting flooded by calls of this sort. Their tech support could not fix my computer.

I called Dell and after a long time of troubleshooting, they sent me a new hard drive. I have major important info on my computer and a LOT of software. This matter is all over the Internet that Microsoft has crashed people's computers! This is unacceptable to me and I hope you can do something about the malicious software they told me to update my computer with.

I now have to pay an expert $95 per hour to try to recover my data and the software, install a new hard drive and re-install the data and software. If this is not possible due to the condition Microsoft has left me, I have to start completely over and spend about 12 hours of my time to get my computer back to its normal operating condition. I will have lost 45 days of data, too. Please help me; there should be a class action suit on this.

I called for some help with word 2007. I spent 20 minutes before I paid $49 for help and was transferred to a jerk. He promptly put me on hold. I waited twenty minutes for him to return. I finally hung up. I tried to reach the same number I originally called for over an hour. I then waited until the end of the day and called back are got a promise of a refund. I will not ever call again and I will try to avoid microsoft.

I own a few computers and have five licensed copies of Microsoft Office as well as at least 6 computers running on Microsoft operating systems. I have always haw hawed the critics. I now understand.

I suffered annoyance and the feeling I have been swindled. I just wanted to join the ranks of the Microsoft critics.

Microsoft Office and Microsoft Word insist on making the first letter on a line a capital letter, whether I type a capital letter or not. Even when I go back & manually change the capital letter back into a small letter, Microsoft products change it back to a Capital letter.

This is especially irritating in two sorts of instances:

1. when I am writing poetry, and I want a line to begin with a small letter because it is a continuation of a sentence in the previous line. The computer will even change a small to a Capital letter after I have saved the document with a small letter at the beginning of a line.

2. When I am sending someone a password to access a file [e.g. a video] where the password is case sensitive, and even after I have changed the Capital letter to a small letter [sometimes more than once], and when I send the email, the small letter has been changed back to a Capital letter.

The consequences of having my poetry changed by Microsoft products is irritation.

The consequences of Microsoft changing the initial letter of a case-sensitive password from small to Capital is that my correspondents are unable to open password-protected files.

In December of 2007, I purchased an Apple I-MAC computer and with it the 2004 edition of Microsoft Office for MAC. The packaging for the 2004 edition indicated that if I sent in a copy of my purchase receipt, UPC code etc. They would ship me an upgraded version of Office 2008 for $8.00. I complied with the request and sent off the necessary documentation immediately. On April 3, 2008, I received a letter from Microsoft indicating they were in receipt of all documentation except for a copy of my sales receipt. They indicated that if they did not receive my sales receipt within 30 days they would not ship out my upgrade.

On June 2, 2008, I received another letter from Microsoft indicating that they had yet to receive a copy of my sales receipt and that they remained anxious to provide me with my upgrade. On June 17, 2008, I contacted Microsoft to advise them I had my receipt and would send it to them.(1-888-285-6247) I spoke with a customer service person and was told that Microsoft would no longer honor my request. I protested and the the individual whom I was speaking with told me that I was calling a marketing company retained by Microsoft and that I would have to speak with Microsoft customer service directly. He provided me with a phone number to Microsoft.

The same day I contacted the above number and was advised the same thing that I was told during my initial call. I indicated that I was calling to indicate I had my receipt but the customer service person refused to budge and further informed me that the upgrade program ended in May of 2008. I informed him that I had at that moment a letter in my hands from Microsoft dated June 2, 2008, indicating that they were still interested in fulfilling my request. He agreed with the fact that it was a mistake for the second letter to have been sent out but that it did not matter as the program had been concluded and I was not going to receive my upgrade.

I advised him that I was not happy with the outcome and would most likely complain to the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission and the Los Angeles Consumer Affairs Commision as well as the State of California. I spent $399.95 for the 2004 version of Office. To purchase an upgrade would be an additional $239.95. I find it outrageous that they would not honor their upgarde program and wonder if there are any others out there who have been denied their upgrades.

I Contacted Microsoft regarding an invalid product key [0x80180114] message received from their product update site. I have used this product for years without any problems until now. The update site will not allow any updates because of this error. I was informed that the product Key I have is valid however, support cost $49.99. I informed them, I do not require support they need to make the necessary correction so updates will work for my product. They informed me again that a charge of $49.99 is needed to have support fix the problem.

I know what this practice is called however, not willing to say in fear of a law suite from Microsoft. I have purchased Win 98, Win 98 Second Edition, Two copies of WinXP, Office 2000, and two copies of office 2003. My next stop after filing this report is Linux OS. This product is free with free support along with people willing to help with a problem.

Tried to order MS Office Standard 2007 upgrade online. Discovered by accident (i.e. the company was not transparent about this, they merely make the site boot you out without explanation) that: a) Canadians do not have access to the upgrade, but instead must buy the entire package again; and b) Canadians pay 35% more for the entire package than Americans (despite our currencies being at or close to par for several years now).

The effect of this pricing discrepancy is that I will have to pay 125% more for the product in Canada, than in the US. This is the combined effect of not having access to the upgrade, which is cheaper than a full package, as well as the increased cost for Canadian vs American consumers. This is an outrageous situation and completely without merit, as other companies have been moving their product pricing to be in line with American pricing. With NAFTA, there are no extra duties or taxes, so the price should be the same.

On january 12, 2008 i purchased the the microsoft office ultimate steal 2007@ $59.95 and paid for the downloadable version and I also bought the DVD for $12.95(never received in the mail). I recieved a confirmation and was given an email with the downloadable version attached inwhich I attempted to download but once the installation of the download began it immediately said that my computer did not have the microsoft windows XP sp2 to complete this installation.

I had someone come to my home to look at my computer and they said that I have the correct program and they also attempted to download the ultimate steal and once the installation began we got the same message. I sent microsoft a letter to the address above and then I contacted them via the phone number above and spoke with someone named Surya, he gave me a case number 1061777271and he assisted me with the download but he promised to call me back in 30 minutes that day once the download completed, but i did not hear from him anymore that day and I went to install the download and I got the same message that my computer did not have the program needed to install but my computer has microsoft windowsXP sp2.

I needed this program for a technology class at school and the term is almost over.

The ultimate steal will not return my funds and have not sent to me the DVD to date. At this point I have been the one that has contacted them and persued this issue. Once they got my funds, it has been difficult to get someone to assist me via the email.
