New tires 34,000 miles rotated every other oil change. When pick up bad vibration. Come to find out tire place say belt blew in tire and Kumho only wants to cover 40%. Junk tires. Do not buy. They don’t stand behind their products either. When we put 55,000 miles on my truck tires still going fine. Bad tire. Bad customer service.

My car only has 66K on it, so when I started feeling a strong vibration I just assumed that I likely need a wheel alignment or balancing (or both) after hitting a pothole or something. When I took the car to the dealership they told me the belt within 3 of my 4 tires had shifted and I needed 4 new tires. Of course, I was extremely skeptical that this could possibly happen in 3 tires, what are the odds right? I have an invoice from the shop to prove this diagnosis.
So being skeptical, I took my car to a separate tire center and sure enough they verified the issue. I have never heard of this happening before to any other kind of tire. This is not only extremely disappointing and costly (I need new tires now), it's flat-out dangerous. What could have happened to those tires on the highway?? I can guarantee I will never purchase Kumho tires again. They are like a ticking time bomb. Absolutely insane.

I bought a 2018 KIA Sorento two weeks ago and today complained to the dealership that the ride is rough and wheel noise is loud. The manager informed me that KIA puts cheap tires on their cars and when I buy new tires I will see a big difference. I paid a lot of money for this car and am afraid to transport my grandchildren in this car after reading the tire reviews.

So got a brand new 2016 Kia Soul with Kumho tires. Worst tires I've ever seen. After about 9000 miles was informed that my tires needed to be replace. What the hell? So they told me, "You have a little time." Went on about 8 months only driving within the city limits. Got to about 19000 miles. I walked outside and the tires caught my eyes. Pieces of the tires are falling out. Told my husband I'm so uneasy driving the kids around on these tires so we went ahead and changed the tires.
Called Kia to complain about the tires. They informed me that I needed to call Kumho. I did. They didn't even want to hear it. I was informed that for them to even talk to me about the tires I needed to have the tires because it's like any other warranty, you need to have the item. So I guess after getting new tires I was suppose to have the tire shop put the tires in the back of my Kia Soul and have it so they can examine said tires. Or wait put my kids, myself and my husband life at risk until they can tell me where to take the car to get tires replaced. I have pics of what the tires looked like but that's not enough. If you're buying a new car and it had Kumho tires please ask the dealer to replace those because you could die driving on those no good tires.

I have a 2015 Dodge Durango, purchased brand new. The two rear tires are completely bald, (center of tires), at 23k miles. I took my vehicle to my local Dodge dealership and was told they have nothing to do with the tires, and to contact Kumho. It took me a few weeks to finally get a live person on the phone with Kumho, (I also emailed customer service and was never responded to). The girl I spoke to from Kumho told me that they do not offer a warranty on their tires once they are sold to dealerships (???). I had a tire shop look up my tires and these tires are supposed to have a 60k mile warranty. I am losing air in all four tires daily, and constantly having to put air in them. Kumho has HORRIBLE customer service and does not care about the safety of their customers.

On the 20/03/15 I purchased 4 new Kumho 255/65R16 KL51109H tyres for my Hyundai Terracan. On the 18/08/17 during a trip from Hervey Bay to Brisbane I felt a vibration in the steering that was very noticeable between 80 and 100 KLMS, so at first chance I had a balance check done at Bob Janes. Note I had only a couple of months ago I had a balance check and wheel align done. The result was that Bob Janes tyre technician informed me that one of the tyres had tread separation that caused the vibration, and recommended I replace all 4 tyres, so I did.
When I got home I checked the mileage to see how many Klms the tyres had done and I was shocked that they had only lasted for just over 36,000 Klms over a short 2 years, so I called Rock Bottom Tyres at Pialba QLD 4655 and told them what happened and they agreed that the tyres were no good therefore they were no longer selling them. I hope by my writing this review I can prevent someone else from having such a disappointing experience as I have had with purchasing Kumho tyres as well. I feel lucky they didn't blow out completely when I was driving on the highway as I have read has happened in other reviews.

Friday brought my 2016 Kia Sportage with 19k on the clock into service department. Low pressure light was illuminating and yes a nail was in the right rear tire center. Come Monday light illuminated again and yes nail was in the left front exterior wall so it could not take a patch. The Kia is AWD so one tire replacement was not going to be an option. Needed all four tires replaced. So I have a near new vehicle with tires that are supposed to last 60k and find myself replacing them at 19k to the cost of just under $1000.00. I strongly recommend not purchasing Kumho tires. If you have the option to upgrade to a better tire at time of purchase do so. I was not offered this option through the Kia dealership at time of purchase. I have not replaced my tires with Kumho tires as I feel they are very cheaply made and feel Kia should be providing a more durable, reliable and safer tire.

I put a set of 4 new Kumho 245/70/16 kl 61 tyres on my Dmax when the tyres had done only 4000 ks only on bitumen. I was traveling from Bourke to Cobar on Kidman. Way about 20 ks out of Bourke the rear left hand side tyre on the inside split 2/3rds around the tyre on the side wall. Kumho just said something must come off the road and hit the tyre, I told them I was 100% sure the bitumen was clean and nothing hit the tyre. They weren't interested. I believe it was caused by separation and most other people who have seen it have said the same. The cost to me was $186 for the Kumho, $255 to replace it with a Bridgestone and a secondhand tyre to get me out of trouble. If any more of the Kumho fell apart KUMHO won't accept any liability so I will never deal with them again.

These tires come standard on the Hyundai Sonata and quite frankly that's the only thing wrong with the car. Hyundai has come a long way with the quality of their vehicles and we love the Sonata, but they have to do a better job outfitting their vehicles with tires. These are total crap and are basically 30,000 mile tires. We have just over 30,000 right now and the tires are spent. I rotated these tires every other oil change (roughly every 7,000 miles) and they wore evenly, but they're WORN OUT!! Gave an OK ride when new they were quiet and comfortable but that changed quickly. They aren't worth the money get something else.

You just get repair kit with Fix a Flat. Would have been nice if someone told us that. Well that doesn't fix a blowout. Had Kumho tires on the car, after being TOWED, yes TOWED for a flat tire, to the nearest Kia dealer, I had to pay for the new tire and was told to call Kumho to request a refund. Tires were 2 months old, not even 4000 miles on the car, I was told I only need pictures of the tire not actual tire. Kumho is not processing claim because I did not keep the physical tire (dealership advised not necessary). In any event, the representative from Kumho was curt and not very accommodating. I've thrown away better tires than this... absolute shame.

I didn't think much of it until this morning after I dropped my boyfriend off at work. I was on my way to work and tons of cars were pulling up next to me saying that my tire was really huge. I made it back to my house instead of trying to make it to work. I got in the house and heard a loud bang. I went outside and looked. The tire had exploded and left a huge hole in the tire. So took to garage for puncture repair and the mechanic said, "Are you getting any vibration?" I said, "Funny you should say that I am getting like a wheel bearing noise from the rear of the car, and thought I might have my wheel bearings changed." He said, "Don't bother. It is the tyres having cupping i.e. uneven tread every other segment!" The tread over the whole tyre was almost new. I have two rear tyres like this. Very annoyed. Rubbish tyres and not particularly cheap either. Will never purchase these tyres again.

While crude, I definitely understood his point. He pointed out the 4-5 bubbles lining the inside of the tire. It's important to note the bubbles were spread across the entire inside sidewall, and not in an isolated spot... Since this a new car, I plan to purchase 4 new tires once I can drain the mileage out of these worthless tires.

Brought it to Sullivan tire, they said it had a nail in it and I had to replace it, so I did for the first time ever in my life replaced a brand new tire, with a brand new one. Well now it's Jan, and oh again my tire light came on and came out of work with a flat tire, now the front passenger, as I just replaced the back passenger tire. Guess what! Oh another tire replacement in 4 months. Um I drive to work and back. I first thought maybe Sullivan tire was running a scam on me until I start looking into the tires, which I see are through the roof of problems like this.
My truck is new and to replace two tires is friggin absolutely crazy! And I wondered why KIA was pushing me to buy the warranty to replace the tires, that I didn't purchase because I have never in my life ever had to replace a tire on any vehicle I owned that's new! Poor driving performance after 36,000 miles on Kumho OEM tires on Ford's new flagship 2015 F-150 Platinum truck. We have had numerous issues with traction in wet weather as well as varied terrain since acquiring this vehicle. We took it to the dealer and our local tire dealer with whom we have had 15 year relationship. We were advised that the Kumho tires were new to the US market, though Ford worked with Kumho to tune the tire for this truck. If that's the case, there were multiple errors made in the design process. We find the tires to be very unstable in wet driving conditions as well as having poor traction on unpaved roads, e.g., chip and seal, under any conditions.
We have tried adjusting the amount of air in the tires, including using nitrogen instead of air and nothing has improved performance. We are going to replace these tires due to safety-related concerns. It is unacceptable that Kumho won't stand behind their warranty. Furthermore, what was Ford thinking? After spending hundreds of millions on R&D for the all new aluminum body truck, they put unsafe and defective tires on their vehicle from a manufacturer with at best a 'checkered past.' In this price range, it is absolutely unacceptable that after 36,000 miles we are having to replace the tires on this truck. This will in all likelihood be our last Ford truck after 30 years. Too many gremlins and cut-corners it seems.

Neither did the Kumho dealer they purchased it from, and neither did Kumho tire. I basically bought x4 new tires and one only last x2 months and that's it. Contact Kumho Warranty Dept. and although she was kind and sweet she still did not warranty my faulty tire they produced. I lease a 2014 Chrysler Town and Country. I have very little miles and my tires became unevenly worn and some minor dry rot. I had to replace two tires when I was unemployed on a car that was newer with low miles. I talked to the company and did exactly what they told me to do to hopefully process the warranty and they kept changing the story. Besides the fact that it is almost impossible to get through to the tire company I put in multiple phone calls and basically got nowhere.
Finally they told me to go to a distributor which would be Sears tire and Auto so they could start the process of the warranty. I did that and Sears called into Kumho and gave them the runaround. I just called again today and they have no documentation that Sears even call them even though I was standing right there next to the manager. Not knowing that this would be a horrible ongoing process I no longer have the tires. I should not have had to put out money for 2 tires on a newer car with low miles and being unemployed. God forbid I was in a car accident because of those tires and I have 3 children.
All I want is a reimbursement of $177 I had to put out for the tires. Their customer service is awful. There are hundreds of complaints online about the same exact issue I was having. I even contacted Chrysler and complained. I even told Chrysler that if these are the cheap tires that they put on their products I will no longer go with Chrysler. I'm not asking for a lot. I am just asking for reimbursement of these tires. It could have been a lot worse had I been in an accident with my children. I did what they asked me to do. They should do what they said they would do. In all honesty this company should not even be in business.

My first experience with Kumho tires involved my Mazda Miata M Series. As replacements were four new Kumho tires. Immediately I noticed that the car was like riding on rocks. One could feel every imperfection on the road surface. My original Yokohama tires did not last long. However the Kumho set even wore out quicker! My new Suzuki Reno Luxury Edition 2007 year model came with Kumho Ecsta tires. Before 19000 miles, two of the tires developed large bubbles on the sidewalls, another blew out, and the remaining tire was worn out to the the point of necessitating a replacement.
I was told that one suffered a road hazard, two that had bubbles were caused by hitting curbs, and the worn out tire was caused by failure to have rotation and alignment as required by mandated recommendations. Kumho was of no help in negotiating a monetary adjustment. In contrast, I have had great performance and mileage from my replacement Doral and Sailun tires.

We own a very expensive custom order SUV. It is a 05, yet only shows 100k miles today. Tire size required is LT265/75R16 Load Range E 10 ply rated. These are NOT cheap tires in this size. Our OEM set lasted 80k miles. Our vehicle is "Showroom New", in fact the OEM spare had NEVER been out of the vehicle or installed and was brand new. This is how well I take care of my tires and avoid problems.
KUMHO tried to get us killed, no other way to put it. We took a trip across 4 or 5 states and were to finish the trip with a drive deep into Mexico. The total miles we would put on about 5k. In Texas we noticed a vibration we had for about 1,000 miles suddenly got much worse. Stopping at a small town tire store, I was sure I had thrown a wheel weight. I requested a re-spin of all the tires as well as a rotation. I was told it would be 3 hours as they were very busy. KUMHO cost us 3 hours here for nothing. We decide to walk around this small town for 3 hours, returned to find nothing done to our vehicle. They told us due to liability, they would not touch it, as our left rear tire had a 1/2 Melon size bulge in the face of the tread, ply separation they stated, adding this is the cause of the vibration, no kidding!
I said, "Fine order us a new matching Kumho," they said, "No problem" then returned to say the tire was no longer manufactured, and its KUMHO replacement was not even close. I WILL NOT run mismatched tread, make or brand tires. I told them these tires are brand new (20k miles) and they agreed. I said I wanted KUMHO to replace them all, they laughed and said, "Good luck with that." They said my only choice now was to buy a new set from them if they all had to match, load range E 10 ply tires are IMPOSSIBLE to find more than ONE style in stock, IF at all. They only had large "Knob" off road tread one choice in stock, they would not order another style other than the KUMHO, which they said we could get 15% back on.
Against their advice we left with the bulged tire still in place, worn bald at the bulge. We drove to a Wal-Mart Tire Center, only to find they had one choice, as well an off road tread design, then drove 100 miles to a COSTCO, costing us a whole day, only to find they had NOTHING in my size load range E 10 ply in stock. They would NOT install my new spare, which once more had NEVER been out of the vehicle and you could eat off it. We were forced to drive and find another tire shop, wait while they installed my spare. I had the left front placed on the left rear so the drive axle tires were same diameter, so as not to work the differential.
The ply separated KUMHO was placed in the vehicle for a spare. Based on my stellar tire record, it was decided to wait instead of being forced into buying tires I really did not want, wait till we got home, get on the net, find the best, and then go order or buy a new set. BOY OH BOY, what a mistake. About to cross the border into Mexico we noticed the "SIDE TO SIDE" vibration, that became apparent AFTER we replaced the bulged tire got much worse. Driving into Mexico on the toll road, in 101 degree heat, there was a bang, then "WOP-WOP-WOP" as there is no shoulder, and the government is afraid you might get a free ride, there are NO exits from the tollway, NO shoulder, NO PULLOFF, you see people all the time changing a tire in the traffic lane, that's right the traffic lane, know how many are killed every year? HUNDREDS!
We were forced to drive the vehicle 15 or 20 miles at 15 mph, in 101-degree heat, nearly being rear ended every 50 feet of travel, by Mexicans who could care less, much less watch the road. We were in the middle of NOWHERE! We then spotted an illegal road cut through the fence into a farmers field, we pulled in and I got out to inspect the tire, a 3-inch wide strip of tread was gone, 1/3 the way around the tire, but it still held air. Pulling on the edge of the remaining tread, it flipped back like a blanket, 100% ply separation ALL THE WAY AROUND THE REMAINING CASING!!! I rejected putting on the other bulged KUMHO spare, because we were carrying $10,000 in new goods to friends, who live there, they had shipped to a friend's in Texas and we picked up for them.
The vehicle was so packed full and tight, HONESTLY you could have gotten a road map in there. Deciding it would be suicide to unload and display all the new goods in the middle of a farmers field in full view of the road, saying kill us and rob us, we decided to drive the near 100 miles to the closest town, at 15 miles per hour!!! In 101 degree heat. Arriving we found out what I already knew, the MEXICANS had never heard of nor even seen a load range E, 10 ply rated tire, they called BS, and said they had plenty in my size, which was true, BUT standard load.
I decided to have my new set of Continental Extreme Winter Contact Tires shipped down, called my son and had them put on the bus. Wanna know what, it is illegal to bring tires into Mexico because they charge 3 times the USA price for 1/2 the quality. Bribes, it took bribes to get them and 3 days in a motel, with no English language TV.
After having the "Continentals" installed, the "Cadillac" of tires ALL our problems went away. The fact I was forced to hold the steering wheel 1/3 turn to the right to go straight, and if I let go of the wheel, it dove to the left with violent force, NOW GONE, wheel straight, tracks like a laser beam! The coins in our ashtray vibrating and jumping like popcorn in a popper gone, the road noise which was unbearable gone, the ride, like a dream. Like I say, we did not know we had issues till we installed "REAL" well-made tires.
I now know and believe the KUMHO's were ALL bad, ALL ply separated for some time, if not years. Remember these tires only had 20k miles, and a tire like that, is hard to tell from new, remember as well our OEM tires (B.F. Goodrich, that came with the new vehicle) lasted 80K miles, and the matching spare which came with the vehicle now 11 years old, performed FINE and did not fail! So these Kumhos cost us about $200 each, were about 5 years old, and had about 15k miles on them when we noticed problems, and failure at about 18 to 20k miles. Once more REMEMBER we got a FULL 80k out of the OEM B.F. Goodrich tires, AND they were FAR from being bald. So if you have the money to replace your Kumho's every 15 thousand miles, maybe it's your tire brand for sure?
KUMHO tires are junk, death traps, and from reading these posts, I am not alone in all the problems. Our tires were KUMHO ROAD VENTURE SAT, Light Truck 16 inch. My advice is if you have these tires on your vehicle, GET RID OF THEM REGARDLESS OF MILES OR AGE! KUMHO refuses to help or reimburse us, nor warranty the tires. Our out of pocket expenses for buying this Kumho junk were about 2k (time lost and out of pocket). If you are considering Kumho Tires, don't do it! If you have them, unless your life means nothing, get rid of them. JUNK pure and simple, poorly made, ply separation on all their tires, failures. How they keep selling tires, how people keep buying them, is beyond me.

We bought a 2014 Dodge Durango in September of that year. We were traveling on May 1st this year to our NC home from Florida. Our vehicle started vibrating and we pulled off at the next exit. The tire service center we went into told us we had a bulging faulty tire. When he checked the others they were going the same. This vehicle was at 20826 miles. We are both in our 70's so no racers or abuse here. We had to get a new set of tires which cost us $1479.81. I wrote to Dodge and sent them photos that we took also a copy of the invoice.
I got a phone call from Dodge on Tuesday to say that they were not covered under their warranty and to get in touch with Kumho. I got the feeling from the guy that I spoke to that they were aware of this. I asked for his name for a reference but he would only give me his first name which I found very strange. Today I thought I would check the internet to see if anyone else had a problem. What a surprise to see so many complaints. I am wondering how many more people out there have had a problem and been put in danger. I shall be writing to Kumho and sending them the invoice to see if they will reimburse me. If they know of the danger with these tires then they should have been recalled. I would be interested to know if Dodge are still using the same tires.

I purchased 4 Kumho Ecsta PA31 tires October 2015, and right off the bat had a vibration problem at highway speed. Working with Tire Rack (where I bought the tires), 2 were replaced due to being out of round - one at my expense). After 4 balance attempts, 2 being road forced balanced - totaling over $250.00, I still have vibration problems at 12k miles! I have also replaced my struts/shocks, done an alignment and played with various tire pressures - nothing has helped. I've made 2 attempts to contact Kumho but have been ignored.
As the tires wear the vibration is getting worse. A local tire shop recommends I replace the tires immediately, as this symptom signifies a manufacturing defective in the tire cord. He said I am at risk of a blowout as the tires continue to wear. I have since ordered new tires (different brand) and driving my other car until they get installed next week. I am writing this review to warn those of this dangerous condition. If you have Kumho tires on your vehicle and have a vibration problem, get them replaced!

It amazes me that the government has not banned this tire company from doing business. I often wonder who they bought off in the congress to sell these dangerous tires in the USA. The only positive part was the dealer who exchanged these death trap tires for Goodyear Wranglers for my Mountaineer. These tires do NOT measure up to the advertised life, are prone to rapid wear and blowouts are common. Remember the old saying, "Your life is riding on your tires"? There are much better tires out there than this brand. I would hope the government recalls these death trap tires.

We found a friendly dealership, Brennon Dodge of Ruston, LA. All was going well and we were well pleased with our purchase until at 12,000 miles we had a tire blowout on the back driver's side. We were on a good road going about 50 miles an hour. While changing the tire, we found a very large opening in tire and could see the metal part of tire. The tire is a Kumho brand. That's when the droning became apparent. It came on rather suddenly and got worse fast. At 20,000 they were worn 3/4 of the way to the wear bars. When mentioned to the Hyundai service manager, he looked at them and noticed something I had missed. The entire contact surface of all 4 tires were covered in very fine scalloping. The service manager's lame excuse was that it was because I didn't rotate the tires twice a year. Yea, right. As of now they are at 33,000 and totally shot. Not even a month later the same thing happened to the left tire. We felt this was not coincident, but paid as trying to fill out a claim would be proof-less. But when the back right tire would have the same problem, I called to make a claim only to be told that I didn't have a registration in their system. I pulled off to the shoulder right away, but heard a loud noise and drag as I did so. According to the car behind me who helpfully stopped, the tire started smoking moments before it exploded. Upon examining the tire, the sidewall of the rear passenger side tire appeared to have melted in a ring around the entire tire. I examined the other tires and noticed brown heat discoloration on the opposing rear tire as well.
This occurred while my family and I were on a stretch of road without services for 270 miles, and I am just thankful it didn't happen on the section of road where it makes a right angle turn down a steep cliff face at 12 percent grade or we would have likely been killed. The Dart is a stick shift and I didn't want to deal with that in stop start traffic. I was driving the speed limit of 70 when my car started making a very loud noise. I told my daughter I thought I had a flat tire. My car then started doing the wobbly shaking thing I associated with having a previous flat tire. I drove my car to the exit that was immediately on my left. Upon looking out my rear view mirror before changing into the land next to the exit, I saw my entire tread of my tire fly up into the air and almost hit the car behind me, which had to stop on the freeway. It looked as if my whole tire had flown off.
My friend came and helped me put on the spare tire, and then we went back and picked up the tread. It had came off completely in one piece. We took it home and inspected it and there were absolutely no holes or puncture marks. My friend, a diesel mechanic, said that even if I had ran over something the tire should not have separated like that. I am afraid to drive the car again until I am able to replace all of the tires. I bought a NEW Ford car that came with Kumho tires. At 26,000 miles Ford said tires were shot. I was shocked. My ford dealership took care of everything. They said the tire would be pro-rated if I paid $370.00. I would get all new tires and an alignment. I asked what was wrong with the tires and what happens if it happens again, or should I go with a different brand. Ford dealership said just a bad batch of tires and I was going into new tires from Kumho so the warranty would start over. OK deal. 2 1/2 years later, the car now has 54,000 miles on it and about 27,000 miles on my new replacement tires (same tires as 1st set) and Ford say they're shot. The Ford dealership calls Kumho. Kumho say they already helped me last time, not their problem.
I would not have purchased the same tires if the warranty wouldn't have started over. I now have to pay $800 for new tires when the tires only have 27,000 miles on them and I haven't even reached my original 60,000-mile warranty from the 1st set. I would not get this brand again. I should just be replacing my 1st set for $800. Not have paid $370 before and now $800. Suck.

Took my sonata in for its 24,000 mile maintenance check and was told the tires were worn to a 3/32 and would need replacement shortly. I have had this vehicle 19 months (leased it new) and have had regular maintenance (including tire rotation every 5,000 miles) and feel the tire wear of these tires is pitiful at best. I questioned the service advisor as was told these tires have a history of poor performance. I was also told they are no longer available. My question is Why would Hyundai put such lousy tires on their vehicles and after having complaints from other customers, not offered owners of these lousy tires a discount on replacement tires. We love our sonata, but are having second thoughts about purchasing another when our lease runs out... This possible loss of our business is the consequences of these lousy tires...

I have a Kia Optima hybrid with 33k miles and have went to dealership for all oil changes and tire rotations. Within a few months of buying the car (new), the car had a sideways shimmy to it. Imagine the water in my bottle swishing back and forth. Each time I took it in for oil/tire rotation I was told that it must be from 'mud build up'. It should be noted that I live off a dirt road. After last week's tire rotation, the car shimmied way worse than before. I brought it back to the dealership so they could find out why there was such a drastic change in the shimmy for the worse. It felt like the lug nuts weren't tightened (though I checked and all were tight except one that nudged a little).
The Kia dealership told me again that it must be mud. The guy that sold me the car happened to be there, he had moved up in the company so he now goes to different dealerships. He gave the extra effort to have a tech there pressure wash the rims. I thought that would've fixed the shimmy. It was still shaking the car. As sexist as it may sound, I don't let my wife drive the car now. Frankly, I'll deal with it if I get stranded better; this is in Michigan right now.
Back to story.. I went home and took off the tires to pressure wash them myself. They weren't bad at all. So I looked closer at the tires and saw the treads that should be flat were bubbly and even the grooves were wavy in places. I called the dealership and was told that tires are not covered under warranty at all. The service guy just had a 'class' saying so as well. So, at least 2 of my tires have defective tread. There's no way that an honest person could say it's just wear. The tires are deformed. The crappy thing is that this shimmy has been going on for so long and I've been brushed aside about it the whole time. And now the dealership wants me to pay for replacement tires. I would appreciate any help.

Since driving again there is a terrible shaking and vibration while driving @ 80 kmh. After complaining to the vendor I was told about flat spots, and bad wheel bearings, etc. I went to a Ford Dealership for proper analysis. NO problems with shocks, struts or bearings or suspension with only 52,000 km on the truck. The report on tires is: force balance test results: one tire @ 9 lbs, one tire @ 27 lbs, one tire @ 30 lbs and a really bad one @ 60 lbs.
Again, with results in hand, I made my complaints to the co. who sold the tires to me. There is NO WARRANTY, but he will try to get me another tire to replace the really bad one, but no promises. Now I guess I am stuck with JUNK, as I cannot afford to buy any more tires. KUMHO will NEVER get another penny from me. I am still hoping the vendor will try to make this right. I drive 3 hours a day to and from work, over mountains and in bad weather, and I am terrified every day now with these tires on my vehicle. It's hard to control my SUV with these tires and I feel like I'm all over the interstate. I drive much slower than the speed limit due to the fact the tires don't grip the road at all and when I drive over a bump, my SUV wants to slide over in the lane next to me. I'm so upset because these tires are dangerous and I don't have enough money to buy a new set of tires I can depend on. So now I'm stuck with these horrible tires.
I read reviews before I bought them and thought they were a good tire, but they aren't. Now that the weather is getting bad, I'm not looking forward to driving with these tires. They are awful in the rain too. I shudder to think how they will be in snow and ice, especially over the mountains I have to travel to get to work and back home. I'm so disappointed and wish I was financially able to replace them with a different brand. Something dependable, because these tires are far from dependable. Not too long after this, about another month my front left tire started to do the same thing, and then shortly after my back right tire has started to wave and dent (no bubble yet). I called Kumho and they told me there was nothing they could do for me. So brand new tires on my car (I literally only drive 24 miles a day, these tires should have lasted me for the next 3 years) and I have already had to purchase two new tires. The worst part is Kumho never tried to make it right one. They just kept telling me that it "must just be bad luck."
I have been driving for a quite a few years and I have hit some serious pot holes and never once in my life have I had tires bubble and bulge out the sides. Especially at 4,000 miles. However, I will give a second review in this same breath and state that Discount Tire is by far the best place to buy your tires. They were able to warranty the other two tires I had left, because they were so new for $12.00. That warranty guarantees that if either of the two tires that I have on my car still bubble or bulge they will replace them for free. They obviously couldn't warranty the other two because they were already torn apart, so I still had to buy 2 new tires. It's just ridiculous.
Kumho has no sense of customer service. And the only reason I bought Kumho tires again was because they were the cheapest POS that they offered and Discount Tire is able to insure them for $12.00 a tire. I wasn't really planning on having to front expenses for new tires 6 months after buying a car, but like I stated earlier anyone who is looking at tire options please, please, please, do not buy Kumho tires. If you HAVE to buy a cheap tire then go to Discount Tire and be sure to warranty them. That's the only thing that would make buying these tires acceptable.

I purchased a new 2012 Hyundai Veloster January of 2012, the car has Kumho Solis 18" tires as the original tires. I've had all of my scheduled service work done at the Hyundai dealership along with my tires rotated and balanced as required. I also had my car aligned twice in two years and the alignment is checked each time the car is taken in for service... The car has always been garage kept and driven hwy miles the majority of the 24,000 miles. I had a tire pressure light come on back in November. I took the car immediately to the local Hyundai dealership where I was told the tires had severe cupping/feathering/and lumps in the flat surfaces as well as uneven wear on all 4 tires. I was suggested I replace the tires ASAP and was given a quote of over $850.00 before tax.
I may be a woman, but I grew up around mechanics and had friends/family that owned a tire store so fortunately I know a little more than the service manager expected about tires so when I asked him to tell me the tire rating and asked him to explain to me why if my car received all the proper service and since there was nothing wrong with my car to cause the tire issues it must be faulty or tires that are not living up to their promised life. The service manager at Wyatt Johnson Hyundai promised he would talk with the rep and get back in contact with me...
A month later after hearing nothing (car was in the garage during this time, not being driven as I was out of town), I contacted him again. At this point he lied and said he was in a meeting, but he would send me the records related to my car's service and the tire problem... Of course he never did this and I had to go back two times that afternoon... both of which he avoided speaking with me. I contacted Hyundai via Facebook social media page and explained my problem. The very next day I was contacted by a very nice young woman who promised that Hyundai would fix the problem and reimburse the tires. I was then told two days later that instead of Hyundai fixing the problem, Kumho had to do a claim so I was given a number to a Jessica at Kumho who gave me the complete run around for a month. She told me to get the dealership to do a write up on the tire damage and submit it, so I went to the dealership I purchased the tires from, who did a detailed analysis of the tire issues and checked the alignment and my front end proving that it was in fact the tires not my car.
At this point the service manager at the Cool Springs dealership told me that this was an ongoing issue and None of the Kumho original tires that were put on the Veloster and the Sonatas were getting over 24,000-25,000 miles before having to be replaced. This is a well known issue of both Hyundai and Kumho yet they pass the problem off on the customers and tell countless of us that we're the blame instead of fixing their faulty products and accepting the blame and making their faulty products right. I drove all over the state getting paperwork only to have Jessica from Kumho tell me I had to get the service to call and explain the issues. When he did this she avoided contacting me back even though she told me that she would contact me as soon as she spoke with him on January 3, 2014.
I wrote another email to Hyundai on Facebook and they again had a rep contact me and the Kumho rep called pretending that she didn't remember me from a month ago. At this point she said I had to take the car to Sears for inspection and they would immediately reimburse the tires.... So I asked her to explain how that was going to work, she said once they inspected the tires and determined that the tire was the problem they would issue a voucher for payment and Sears would give me store credit immediately which I knew was a crock. I asked her to please contact Sears and inform them I was coming because I knew she was wrong. She told me she would just give me the number... Nope, I asked her to call and tell them what she just told me (of course no one knew anything about it when I arrived).
However a very kind tech inspected my tires, determined the problem was in fact faulty tires not my car. He called her and I could hear her doing everything in her will to coax him into saying the tires were not to blame, but he told her there was nothing wrong with the alignment and the tires had very unusual wear patterns. She gave him the run around as much as she did me and my husband. Finally he told her the tires were to blame not my car... She then put him on hold, came back and asked to speak with me. At this point, she told me that her management determined since they truly believed my tire wear was due to the car, but since I had been dealing with the issue for two months they were going to reimburse half of the price of the tires, but I had to do it at Sears.
I refused to replace my faulty tires with more Kumho and the therapist agreed. I hope that they live up to their promise, but this should have never been drawn out for this long and since both Kumho and Hyundai are more than aware of this issue. When you purchase a new car the tires should last the average rating. So for any of you who have Kumho tires on a 2012-14 Veloster or Hyundai Sonatas and Santa Fes please do not allow yourself to get caught up in their dishonest scheme. Put your foot down and make the big company fix their mistakes. This should never happen, especially when you spend over $25,000-$35,000 for a new vehicle, one you expect to last!

Kumho very poor quality. Only waste money and harm people. A lot of friends in Indonesia who complained about the tires. There should be a crackdown on this brand, because it is very detrimental to consumers and also endanger the lives of people.

I bought 4 Kumho tires, LT 16 inch, in Dec. of 2011. Load range E. In July, traveling to Milwaukee, with my 5th wheel RV in tow, I blew out a tire, left front. Less than 23,000 miles on it. $1400.00 damage to the front of my Chevy 2500 HD. Of course, it was considered a road hazard, and I know I didn't hit anything. Thus, being out of town, I bought 2 new tires, so they matched up. In September, on our way back from Minnesota, and with the 5th wheel in tow again, I blew out the left side rear tire. 24,000 miles on it.
Again, being on the road, I bought 2 new tires. $3,400.00 damage to the right rear panel of my truck. My local dealer is giving me the runaround about a warranty claim. I have 2 tires, with less than 25,000 miles on them that I don't dare use on my vehicle. We are lucky nobody has gotten hurt. We'll be lucky if our insurance company doesn't drop us. I don't want a credit towards new Kumho tires... I'll never buy Kumhos again.

We were so happy when my daughter got her new Hyundai Veloster. She was riding an old Chevy and we did not feel safe when she went out. Having a new car what could go wrong? The new car was purchased in 2/2012. Since then she has 4 flat tires and 3 rims had to be replaced - the tire Kumho Tires. She never had a flat with her old Chevy and have the original rims on the 2000 Chevy..
Every time she gets a flat with the new car the car is held at the service station for at least 3 days for the insurance company to come to inspect the car. They have to authorize the coverage and tires and rims have to be ordered. This week's flat tire cost us over 400.00. My daughter has shed so many tears over this car. She has worked 2 jobs while being a full time student in order to afford this car. This is not what a new car should be. Why would car companies use such a tire? Parents don't let your child buy a car if they have Kumho Tires.

With 4 Kumho tires supplied by our reputable dealer back home, we were driving our full-size Ford van in Florida from Miami to Sarasota. We intended to drive home in a couple of days from Sarasota, and had just had the tires checked there. The mechanic had stated the tires still had plenty of tread on them to make the drive to Ohio and then some. As we drove on a completely clear night across Alligator Alley, no traffic, nothing in the road, etc., the right front tire blew out. As my husband struggled to control the car, a second tire in the right rear blew out. Then the second rear tire blew out as well, as we were spinning 360 degrees at least 3, possibly 4 times. We ended upright beside the road, incredibly lucky.
My husband suffered bruises from the seat belt and the dog, tethered to the seat belt in passenger seat, suffered mild concussion. (He has thrown up when riding in a car ever since.) I was asleep, lying in the back (no belt). I awoke to the crack of my head against probably the right window, then the left window (so fast I had no idea, just pain), then upside down against the back doors. I had a severe concussion, a ripped big toe (from having my foot under the armrest), and required 23 stitches around my right ear. I also injured my left shoulder which was still being rehabbed from another accident 7 months before, and tore the right shoulder rotator cuff completely through about an inch (from the initial impact).
After the van was repaired (three/four times in Naples and Sarasota, and still isn't right), we decided to consult a lawyer. Unfortunately, no one thought to save the tires. Our home dealer was noncommittal, saying "no one else" had a problem with the tires. Since researching on the net, I find a lot of people have had problems; and light truck tires (which these were) were recalled in China by Kumho.

On 7/14/12, we purchased four (4) new Kumho 205/60/16 tires, spending $400.00 from our local dealer in Pensacola, FL. On 7/27/13, we were driving to Canada, approx. 1,200 miles, to visit family. We drove almost 350 miles, when we started experiencing gradually worsening vibration, pulled into a rest area and could not see anything amiss. It felt like a wheel was going to fall off! We then proceeded onto the interstate, when the vibration made it VERY difficult to control the car, so I exited at the next exit, Elkton, TN, where there is nothing at the immediate exit - we headed toward the town of Elkton.
We found a mechanic who works out of his house, who changed the driver's side tire (huge bulge in the outside portion of the tread - not the sidewall) with our spare, which was the original tire that came with our 2005 Hyundai XG350L, a Michelin tire. We proceeded almost another 300 miles to south Cincinnati, when the vibration was again horrendous! We then arrived at our hotel (Saturday evening), and tried to locate a tire place to inspect our tires. We found a Firestone close to the hotel and arrived at their location before they opened on Sunday, 7/28/13. They replaced the passenger side tire, which also had a huge bulge in the tread (not in the side wall) -same as the first tire! The mechanic found more vibration upon driving around the parking lot - the back tires also had bulges in the tread!!
Because we only had between 6,000 and 8,000 miles on the tires (they looked brand new), and of course we were in the middle of our trip to Canada, with our car loaded, we did not have room to take four defective tires (never mind the questions we would have endured at the border going both ways, carrying 4 defective tires) and we kept the first one that was removed. We thought any reputable, reasonable manufacturer would be able to see that all four tires had the same defect. We returned to Pensacola on 8/09/13, and went to our local dealer on 8/13/13 to request warranty replacement tires. He then suggested that I talk to Kumho directly, thinking that they may be more responsive to a customer, when I tell them the circumstances as to why we do not have all four tires.
I spoke with a manager named Will **, who informed me that they would have to have the ability to inspect and evaluate ALL the tires to get a full warranty replacement. He apparently couldn't figure out that no one in this economy would pay $400 a year for new tires!! My local dealer is replacing the one defective tire with a matching Firestone tire, at no cost to us, and is giving us service in other ways -oil changes, tire balance and alignment, etc. to try to make up for Kumho's rude, ineffectual, and unreasonable attitude. Any REASONABLE person would take the word of the technicians at Firestone and their own local dealer as to the defect of the tires that they inspected - and in fact, any court of law would take the sworn affidavit of an expert witness - but NOT KUMHO!! They have to inspect ALL four tires, thinking that we just wanted to spend another $400 on tires, when they had only about 6,000 to 8,000 miles on the defective ones, and we were just being frivolous and wanted the inconvenience in the middle of our trip!!

We have a 2013 Hyundai with 21,000 miles with Kumho tires. At approximately 15,000 miles, I noticed a bulge in the sidewall of the front right tire... I took it to the dealership where it was purchased... Taylor Hyundai of Augusta, GA... and was told it was my fault and neither they or Kumho would warranty it. I had the tire replaced then. At 20,000 miles, the tires were so noisy, the service manager thought it might be a bearing. On inspection, he noted that the tires were all cupped badly and that was what the noise was.
Again, it was my fault for not having the tires rotated every 7500 miles. If that was the cause, then the new tire with only 5000 miles on it would not be cupped... the dealer is having the tires "trimmed" and will perform an alignment and re-balance the wheels, at my expense, to see if that will correct the problem... on researching, I find that I am not alone with this problem and am hoping for resolution....

I was hopeful the tire would be covered, as nothing was hit to cause the blowout. SEARS also thought the tire would be covered by Kumho.
