Our electricity consumption almost doubled through the summertime after we decided to put an in-ground pool in the backyard. So to help offset the cost of electric payments, we decided to go solar. Though Sherry, the SunLux Energy rep who was walking through the neighborhood, was a fairly new salesperson, she was very knowledgeable of what the company had to offer and the pros and cons of solar. And I liked how she represented the company and the answers she had to my questions.
My wife and I figured that if we made lump sums and pay the panels off sooner, we would own them outright rather than just leasing it. And financing them was a relatively easy process and we signed most of the documents via DocuSign on an iPad. Then we had 27 panels put on so the installation ended up being a two-day process. The installers' workmanship was good quality and I was impressed with their way of doing things. And once I could see that the electricity I was producing completely offset what we use, the more favorable I would be of SunLux.

I wanted to lower my bills and decided to go solar. SunLux appealed to me more than anybody else. I liked the way they presented their self and the offer that they gave me. The representative I worked with was good. But the company itself has been working on energizing my solar for way too long. It should have been up and running by now. It has been over a month and it's still not working. They installed it and it's been waiting on a part now that should have been corrected on Friday. And nobody's called me. I got to call them and find out what's going on there. But other that, SunLux has been good. The installation was quick and easy, and the installers were good, really knowledgeable, courteous and professional.

I waited and waited and glad I finally went with SunLux. Fast, efficient, professional. Don't wait, call them today. They gave a thorough explanation of the process, did what they said, and delivered what was promised. Can't wait till it's 100 outside and I am sitting cool and relaxed.
John,
We hope that you are enjoying your nice cool home in the summertime. Solar can be a little bit complicated and needs to be fully explained so customers understand the payback and benefits.

I liked what SunLux offered and it was kind of a one-stop-shop in the warranty. They gave me a comfort that the other seven companies that I looked at did not. The cost was in line for what they offered. And I've had fantastic interactions with their representatives. It feels like family, which is a rare thing. The sign-up process was good and the installation was amazing. The installers were done in four hours and I've never seen anything like it. I had the solar panels financed. And I went financing because I wanted the value to my home. I wanted to pay it off and offer free energy for the next person who buys my home.

SunLux did a good job with my solar installation. They were prompt and clean. The only issue came when Sunlux sent someone for the inspection who did not know enough to satisfy the inspector. I have recommended Sunlux to friends and neighbors.

My experience with SunLux was amazing. I have a very inefficient house that is about 30 years old and that has original windows and air conditioning. My electric bill was anywhere from $500 to $600 a month. I got a call one day from SunLux and I've had several calls from solar people but I finally decided to let SunLux come out and I'd see what they would say. And what they presented me was a way to cover at least 90% of the electric bill and would save probably half of the payment of what I was paying to Edison, so I gave it a shot. It took a little while because there were some hoops to jump through but we've been up and running now and everything seems to be working well.
The SunLux representative who came out was really good. He was polite and explained a lot of things to me. I had so many questions like, "How does it really work, What's the difference between leasing and buying the system, and What are the benefits either way?" He was able to explain all that stuff to me and I'm very happy that we've made the decision. I'm leasing the solar panels. Otherwise, with the amount of panels I have, financing would've been pretty spendy. And that loan would probably cost more than what the lease is costing me right now depending on the potential. Also, I was swayed towards the lease because if they see something wrong, they'll send somebody out and everything will be taken care of instead of being on my own if I financed it.
The installation was good. The city gave us a little bit of a hard time as far as the location of some stuff. SunLux turned in the plans to the city, and the city approved them. SunLux installed the panels just the way the plan said they were going to but when the inspectors came out, they had their own ideas of what should be happening. And luckily after it failed the second inspection, one of the guys from SunLux went to the city with the plans and talked to the person who approved them and all that stuff was washed out and it made the approval. The final product looks great and it seems to be working well. I would highly recommend SunLux. They were able to explain things to me. If someone's gonna take a little while and as long as they're upfront and let me know it's gonna take a while then, I can deal with that. SunLux didn't make any false promises and everything seems to be working the way they said it would.

We wanted to wait until we felt the technology was up to snuff and the high electrical energy prices in California finally forced us to go solar. We like the gentleman from SunLux who came out and provided us with the information, the made in the USA panels they offered, and also the warranty. The gentleman kept us informed all the time which they did all the way. Leasing is not a good option for solar. We had the solar panels financed, and it was fairly easy. We were declined by the first people but then the salesman got us another one right away. So, it wasn't bad at all. The installers were here one day. We thought it'd be two but they got it all in one. They had to delay it once due to weather but other than that, it was fine and they went through easily. We're pleased with the product so far. SunLux was very professional. They made it really easy for us to get through the whole process.

I wanted to lower energy cost for the long term and SunLux was good with their competitive bids. Also, their salesman Ben wasn't trying too hard to sell things but gave good information. I was impressed with his demeanor and he answered our questions as well as he could. The sign-up process was fine and I purchased in full cash because of the big financial savings.
The installation process was good except for one primary area of concern that was handled at the end. In our agreement, we had requested a certain model of inverter. But when the time came for the install, a different model was brought and it was a smaller one. So we had to contact SunLux and make arrangements for the roofs and the model to be installed. In the end, the results are great. And so, I would certainly recommend SunLux but make sure that you do your own homework, you know what your needs are, and you check through during the install process to make sure everything is as determined from the agreement.

We've been thinking about going solar for some time, but a combination of the outlook for the out-of-pocket expense to do it, the uncertainty about the technology and what the net results was actually going to be, kept me on the sideline from kind of an analytic. And we reached the point where having heard some good reference to SunLux, a couple of the advertisements, and the people doing it, combined with watching our utility expenses rise, I finally said, "Now is the time that we need to take a good heart to look at it."
I was very pleased with Adam, the SunLux rep I worked with. I had made a call and we had a little bit of rescheduling issue and he had been very flexible in being able to get to the house when we were able to do it. His presentation was pretty low-key, but also get all the questions that I had and in a manner that I appreciated. Adam was the one that maintained constant contact and updated all the way through the process, which was also appreciated. We're doing a lease on our solar panels. I'm a certified financial planner and so, I had taken a look at the two alternatives and I like the idea of doing the lease better. And that's worked out being very psychically appropriate.
The installation went very smoothly. We're fortunate that our roof line is such that we had one flat surface. They didn't have to go around any multiple angles as I've seen on some roofs. But the crew was here at exactly the time they said they were gonna be, which was an 8:00 AM. They were here at 8:01 and they had the installation completed by quarter to 5:00. Everything was complete, wired, and connected. There was a little bit of painting that had to be done to the conduit to match the house color. One gentleman came back the next day and completed that. We're very happy after the installation. I'd tell my friends that if they have any thoughts of going solar, give SunLux a call because they would be very forthcoming in telling them if it was appropriate for my friends and what the numbers would be.

My electric bill for three months during the summer ranges about $800 to $900 a month. And I had researched where I looked into the systems quite a bit. I had a company that came in and they offered solar. They also offered the security system, which I got. But their solar was a little outrageous and I couldn't afford it. There were three in my neighborhood who got solar and they told me who they got. I spoke to a SunLux representative and the price that he offered was great, and about four times less than the original one, so I decided to go that route. The representative was very knowledgeable, professional, and upfront in telling me what I was gonna get and how long it was gonna take. And everything that he mentioned fell into the right cycle.
SunLux stayed in touch with us on the steps that it was gonna take place and they kept us informed until it actually happened. I bought the solar panels. I know people that have leased it and now, they wish they would have bought it because they don't get the tax credit, and not so much with the tax credit, but they seem to be paying more monthly and then not getting the savings that they would be getting on electricity. The installation process went from cycle to cycle. When they originally came out, they told me that they were gonna come in, do the inspection on the roof, check my attic, and see if the roof needed a replacing or anything that might change due the installation. And they said that they were gonna go to the city, first of all, and get the permits and also work with Edison, the electric people, and get the documents that were required to go to solar. And then, once they did that and the permits came through, they gave me an installation date.
They came in, put the electricity in, and put the solar panels on. The inspector came and took a look at it. And then shortly thereafter, they said I couldn't go online and so Edison get the changeover, which happened. And in between that, they came and restock all the area where they had to cut out in order to put the new electrical box. And then two weeks ago, we got noticed if we would be going online. Everything was smooth.

I went with SunLux Energy to keep my Edison bill at a constant rate rather than fluctuating so much. SunLux's people were all very personable, so it made you feel good to go with them. They were knowledgeable about their products and the presentation was well done. One of the key things of getting them was the fact that the people that installed the panels were roofers, so I know they wouldn't just be going up there putting solar panels if they know roofing.
The representative had a lot of follow through. He was prepared. He had the facts and figures when we tried to figure out our bills and how much we needed. He didn't oversell us but he didn't undersell us so that we would be covered. We've had a little more than what we needed. However, when we talked to somebody and when somebody else called or showed up, there were big gaps in between. Moreover, we leased the panels because we couldn't afford to buy them. We just filled up the credit and it got approved. Before they did the installation, they told us that it would take longer but they were done before that. We already told others about SunLux Energy. In fact, our neighbors are signing up.

I was tired of being ripped off by the utility company so I decided to go with solar energy. We financed solar panels from SunLux. They got the best warranty in the business which was why I went with them. It's a bumper to bumper warranty for 25 years which nobody else offers. It was a pretty sweet deal. When we were signing up, their reps were all good. They gave us the answers to anything that we wanted to know. Their installers came in and laid it out in two days. It got approved and they got them running in three days. It was absolutely amazing. SunLux was decent, honest and reputable. They were speedy, clean and quick. It’s hard to find that kind of service these days. Their performance record from start to finish was impeccable. They’re the best company in the business to go with.

I wanted to go for solar energy to cut down on my electric bill cost. I reached out to SunLux and they have very good rating. They were very, professional, straightforward and explained the process. Their rep, Ben, presented the project to me upfront -- what I will pick to get it done and as far the process they coordinate all the paperwork with the city, like the permits and the upfront cost of going through their lender so I don't have to worry about all that stuff.
They call and follow up and provide me what I need to know like when the people were coming out, the timeline and schedule. It was precise and clear. We financed the panels as we were looking for long run in terms of owning the system outright after the 15-yr loan. We looked at the competitor or current electric bill versus paying the loan and the latter had a big favor for us. They provided the lender and we just filled out the application, the PDF document via internet. That process was painless. We didn't have to go to any office and I didn't have to do much at all. We just sent the document through from the lender and it was quick.
When they received the panel and the city approved they came in and did the installation within a day and a half or two days. And they repaired any roof tile damage within that time line. It went pretty well and we were happy with it. The project manager who handled our installation process also did very well. She kept me up to date and followed up what was my satisfaction on the project. I told her I was very satisfied. And I called to follow up a couple of things which came different as I expected. They looked at it and they fixed it. It was very, very good and it transitioned very well.
It was a good deal cost-wise. I looked at a couple options, three options, leasing and different place and they came out -- they are competitive and I'm very happy with it. They explained to me what I'll be paying to the Edison maybe like $10 a month roughly. And so far pretty much in line with what they explain to me. I recommend them. I provided the name to the representative and he went and spoke with my neighbor.

I considered getting solar energy to mitigate the rising cost and SunLux offered the best deal in terms of pricing and service. I saw their reps at Costco and I sent them a request and they basically came by, gave me a quote that made sense and we went from there. I was very impressed by Fernando's knowledge about the process. He was very upfront and I had quotes done prior where companies came in with one pricing and then they try to up charge on certain items and I told them I was not going to do it if they do the same thing to me. And he said not to worry and they'll take care of it.
I said, "Just keep in mind if you change later on during install I'm going to pull my order." And so he understood and paid exactly what I signed up for. I leased the panels and that was part of my deal that I wanted to have nothing out of pocket and this way company Sunrun owns the equipment they maintain it. My system's up and running and I've been monitoring the production and it's pretty good. The project manager was right on top. Every time I called she was able to answer my questions.
I didn't know that the installation crew were going to install the monitoring equipment on the outside of the house and I had them change it on the fly and they did. They took care of it at that time and resubmitted the permits. And I like the cost of the service. It has dropped hopefully as summer approaches here in Southern California, I'll find out what the actual impact is but so far so good. SunLux took care of the whole transaction. It was pretty painless and I would highly recommend them.

I went solar for the savings, and SunLux Energy was less expensive than the other providers so I went with them. The reps were very good on the initial part of the follow through, but on the second half of the installation, the communication faltered. My installation experience was okay but it wasn't installed as agreed upon. The installers ran wiring that wasn't supposed to be run on the roof when they had told me it would be done inside the attic. So, that was disappointing. They didn't resolve it and just said that they made a mistake. I've only had SunLux a few months, and I'm kind of torn whether or not I would tell a friend about them. I probably wouldn't at this point.

Our electric bill used to run from $300 to $700 a month during the summer times. Last month, it was $15 and $18 the month before. It's unbelievable. Solar energy is a better choice and is cleaner. I was getting a hold of bunch of companies and the rep of SunLux was a lot better and they gave me the best price for my buck. Every time I text the rep he texts me back. He's professional at all times. I financed my solar panel. I didn't want to lease because I don't want the buyers to be turned off because I have something that I'm leasing that they might not want and they have to take responsibility.
The kind of people during the installation were professional. They did it within a day so I was happy. However, I wish there is an easier way to monitor my solar panels because they send me an email and I got to link the email instead of telling me that they have an app which will let me monitor my solar panels from wherever I'm at. But the cost of the service is affordable.

We had a good feeling towards SunLux. I researched a lot of the product myself and a lot of companies couldn't give me the items that I wanted and only two companies were able to do it. And I was able to find the most efficient product available. I dealt with the company's engineering department and pulling the permits they were dealing with the electric company. The electricians that came out pulled all the wiring in the outside be'cause the house was already built. And I have a custom house and they were willing to do the extra mile. We even put a new circuit board. Their electrical department and the electricians did an awesome job because it was not only solar that they did. But it took them a little more than two months from the time I got approved to get the panels done so I could start using them. SunLux Energy was very responsive and really good to work with. We had a nice time with them. We wanted to save money and a different environment. When I went online, there was something that was asking if I was interested in solar energy. So I filled out some type of online form. And then, unfortunately, I got millions of calls from different companies. And so, SunLux must have been one of the companies that called and then they came over and shared what they offered and then we went with them. They have a personable representative and reasonable price. We had two that presented to us and theirs was lower.
Their representative came over to explain the process of how it works, the amount, the different options for installing and the different plans they had. And then we talked about it. Once we signed up on it, they just told us when they'd be coming to install stuff. And they walked us through the process of installation. Then they turned it on for us. The installation was fast. We're leasing the panels as we were not planning on staying in our house for a long long time. It wouldn't be worthwhile for us to purchase them.

SunLux is absolutely wonderful. We'd been looking at it for years and basically with them we didn’t have to spend a huge amount of money that was out of pocket. They came to our door. They were canvassing our neighborhood and we had them come in. We listened to them and came to appreciate what they had to say and went their direction. The representative was great because he answered our question. He didn’t try to upsell us or just try to sell us something we didn’t need or didn’t want. He was very, very careful to answer our questions so that we understood them.
The solar panels were leased for like 25 years but they stay with the house and whatever the time period is, when it's over, they belong to the house. When they gave us an installation date they were here on that date. The installers were clean and tidy. They just knew what they had to do, got it done, asked us if we had any questions and off they went.
And then a couple days later they had to come out and inspect everything and they were with the inspector of the city when they came. And they gave us a site plan in terms of what they would look like on the roof of our house so we would know where they would be and what it would be like when they got finished. The cost of the service is less than I'm paying on my electric bill or was paying on my electric bill so it saves me out-of-pocket about $75 a month. I already recommended somebody and my next door neighbor bought it. I hope they don't change what they do. And when I called because we had some extra questions that we weren’t quite clear on, Bryan of SunLux came out. My neighbor came over, sat and listened to what he explained to us a second time to answer any questions. It's a 20-year service and obviously if there's a credit at the end of each month then we get money back from Edison. But it's called a 20-year program. It is what I appreciated.
I had people in here so they explained to me what they do. I don't understand their pricing structure. This company before they left here made sure you understood their pricing structure and how it worked, and why at the end of 20 years it belongs to you. But all the service SunLux gives and so on are amazing. And they call back to see if everything's okay, am I happy, and if there's anything else they can do.

Using solar energy sounded like a good deal. I could probably save a little bit each month even though I am leasing my solar panels. I wasn't going to put out that much money to own it. And SunLux worked with me and the appropriate application processes went very smoothly. There were a few reps that I worked with, and I felt they were very knowledgeable. Everything got done when they said it would. I watched the installers put the panels up. And all the installation for the most part of the exterior got done in the day. There were a couple of guys that I talked with when they were putting in the interior instruments and they were very knowledgeable and knew what they were doing. I'm pleased with the products.
I'm not too happy right now because I can't get anything to work on the computer. I had a password and now, it doesn't work. So, I haven't done anything for the last couple of months because it was too frustrating. But I haven’t called anybody yet. I just like to be able to access what's going on and how much I'm saving and what the thing's doing.

My husband researched on what we were paying for our power over the past year and having talked to the representative, who was telling us what we would be paying monthly for the next 20 years with the fact that regular electricity is going to go up every year and this would not be, he decided that it would be a better thing to do. With SunLux, we're not leasing nor purchasing but simply paying a set amount every month for the next 20 years and there was no financial output to us at all.
The rep was very personable and nice. After he left, we had some questions so we called him back. He happily came back, sat down with us again and went over the stuff with us so it was a good experience. During the installation, they were here for two days and it was easy. They finished up and did what they were going to do. It has rained many times since then and we have had no leaks. But we had a county inspection and their box was in the wrong place. They were notified, they came back out and they moved their box to where the inspector wanted it to be. If we've got sunshine, we can go out and see that we're making electricity and I don't have any problems with it. They’re not going to make as much electricity in the winter as in the summer because there will be days where they might not make any at all but as far as the process, it seems to be working well for us.

Also, the rep told me I will have a credit at the end of the year that they’re going to charge me. So if $9 was left for that month, and I have a credit of 50 something, I pay them that balance that I have instead of just waiting for that credit to get lower and lower, so I have money at the end of the year so I can pay them. We have crazy winds where I live and we had one windy day where I tried to call them off and they showed up but then they realized that it was a windy day. So they all packed and left and then they called at least four days ahead of time saying, “Hey. We're going to come back out.” They made sure it was okay to show up. And then they came, and took care of the place. They cleaned it after themselves. They got the job done, so that’s good.
The system seemed like it is working. But I just got an email saying the official bill starts June 15th. It seemed odd that it’s going to take months before I see any savings. I have been meaning to call the company directly to see what’s going on that. Other than that, they're great. I have that two reports already. I think based on 15 days that I’ve seen the last report on them, it’s saving energy so that’s a good thing. And it is quite a big winner right now so I’m assuming it’ll be much better in the summertime. So as long as it can maintain that for a while, I guess we'll be good.
I recommend SunLux. The electricity bill continues to rise and I don't see that changing. I felt like I was almost forced to go with some kind of service. I did some shopping around and there was a good referral about Sunlux on one of the radio stations that I listen to a lot, and their leasing program was something that I like. Leasing the solar panels was easy because of no money down.

Truly, truly, truly a person of their word. This is an older house on a hill; requiring a new main electrical panel, coordination with Edison because our old service line from Edison had been damaged in an earthquake plus TWO permits with the City. Many salesmen from Solar City, SUNrun and Horizon wasted 6-8 months of my time and could not put it together. SUNLUX promised they do everything IN-HOUSE so they could relocate and install the new main electrical panel, coordinate with Edison as Edison relocated the new underground service and complete City permits to MY total satisfaction -- AND THEY DID. Oh yes -- they also installed a fantastic 9.012 kW system just the way I wanted it. The arrows on Edison’s electrical meter are now pointing to the left (back to Edison) -- Very Cool and I don’t have to worry about the IRS this year also Very Cool. Truly, truly, truly a person of their word. Thanks to you ALL at SUNLUX.

My bill wasn’t crazy during the winter. But during the summer, there was more usage of electricity with how hot it is and I have a pool, and my mom lives with me who stays home all day. I was looking to try and get a lower bill. And since I was doing some remodels on the house, I decided to get some info on solar because a couple of my friends have it. One of my friends has SunLux and one of them has SolarMax. I've heard about SunLux and I know they were a newer company. I wanted to get some info so I called them if they could come out and give me an estimate. I was also getting a couple of different quotes but after talking to everybody, SunLux seemed very helpful and knowledgeable. I felt like they were willing to go the extra mile for me.
They sent out Ralf, who was the first guy I talked to about it. He basically talked to me through everything and answered any questions that I had about the different options if I would purchase it all outright, which was what I was leaning towards because I had pulled out money to do some repairs. He talked to me about the benefits if I buy it outright or if I lease it. And then he talked to me about what electricity I use and when I use it and how beneficial solar can be. He said to me, “Basically, we kind of build a system we’re going to go through. We’re going to check out all your surrounding areas, what trees you have and your neighbors’ trees are, where it would shade and where the best place in your roof is going to be, and everything.”
He set up an appointment to come back and talk to me about it and showed me a set-up of what it would look like on the roof and how much it would produce to help cover the bill and if I use more at certain times, I’ll probably still have to pay. But in the wintertime, if I would use less, that balances out over the year. So after all the interactions with him, I got an email from the CEO of the company, Joe, and he told me to call him directly if I have other questions that Ralf wasn’t able to answer or any questions developed afterward. He went out of his way to offer any questions that he would answer himself.
Installation was all very easy and everything was done perfectly. Once the city came out and approved it, I was up and running with no problems. I felt like they were a very good price compared to every other solar company that was out there. Now that I have solar, I started paying attention more to houses that already had it. I never paid much attention before but now, I look in detail how they’re installed and where it’s all at and I like how mine looks than some of the other ones. I’m very happy with it. I already got my first bill and it was lower, but I’ve realized that’s because I don’t have pools running right now because we’re getting that worked on. So, I can’t really take that into consideration yet because the pool pump normally is running half a day. But so far, I'm happy with SunLux. We'll see once they get the pool running again.

Going solar energy sounded like a good idea. I called around and no one wanted to do it for free. They want to do a lock it in or buying it. SunLux, on the other hand, did not cost me anything to do it, and they took care of maintaining them. I got it down to $80 a month, which is a good thing. It is better than paying $120, $140 or even $300 in the summertime, which is a lot. So, that is going to work on in the Summertime.
However, our experience with SunLux Energy was not too good. They missed the inspector's date, and it took them a week to catch up with him. And when they came out here, they did not have it right. The inspector did not pass it. It's been dragging their feet a little bit and not saying what was going on. In the meantime, I'm paying $153 for my electric bill and I'm paying them on top of it. So, they said they'd mixed them up and they had done nothing. It costs two months of the electric bill, where I paid a whole $150 both month. Two weeks ago, I contacted them about it and they said, "We will see what we can do", and I haven't got a word. They keep sending my bill every month.

I kept getting this calls from all these companies and they're saying the solar energy was free and that it would help me save money but I don’t think it’s really helping to save money because I have to go off the energy. And then I got a tax bill from the county assessor. It sounds like the tax people wanted to increase my taxes because I have an improvement on my house. They wanted to know how many square inches were involved and how much I paid for it and I said I didn't pay anything for it and that it was a lease program. I printed down a diagram of the roof and all the contract. I mailed it probably four or five days ago and I haven’t heard anything from the tax people.
The process of going through leasing the panels was okay. But it was longer than I thought. And I would have to stay home sometimes. Three or four guys would come out and then they would do something and would come back. They had a problem installing the electrical part. One time they said I can go out, that it was okay to go out. And at the last minute, they said, “No. We need you to fill this out or make a decision on such…” But I waited a long time one morning and I was told that would be the very last time because they had a problem. I think it was something about my house. The plan wasn’t right for establishing where the controls would go. It was supposed to be inside the garage and then it was outside the gate. And then it was inside the gate, and that’s where it is now. They had a problem installing on the side door. They had to change their plans for some reason.
The project manager was nice and it was mostly good with SunLux except that at the end, I wasn’t sure what was going on. They said an inspector was coming out, but I never did see an inspector. And before they did the installation, somebody counted the number of tiles that were cracked. I asked them about that and they said, “Oh, we don’t get involved in that. Oh, don’t worry about it.” I don’t remember anybody going up to repair any cracked tiles. And they said, “They’ll be more crack when we get through because it’s a lot of walking around up there.” There are things that’s probably beyond their control and if one person promises something and the other person doesn’t know it’s been promised, like about the cracked tiles, you don’t know who to blame.
I have told good things about SunLux to other people. I have a neighbor and we’re having a conversation about all these phone calls from people. And I said I got SunLux and it didn’t cost me anything. She was interested in it and I said, “Well, I would recommend them. They are advertising a lot and they have a good reputation."

Our electrical bill was way too high. We decided to go solar and so far, we've been with SunLux Energy for a few months. They were recommended by SOCAL Edison, our electrical company, that had a site to go where you could type in what you were looking for. SunLux also seemed like they had the best deal so we went with them. The installation went pretty well and for the most part, our experience with them have been pretty good.
We had a couple of issues where they had broken some tiles and a skylight. At first, they didn't tell me that they fixed the tiles so I called the company to let them know about it. So there was a little communication error there that could have been handled a little bit better. And when they came back out to fix the skylight, they brought the wrong size, so it took them a while to fix that. Also, they were a no show for our first meeting but they made up for it by giving us an iPod and a Nest. Then the Nest ended up being bad and I haven't even heard from them about replacing that yet. Other than that, their cost is good and the same as everybody else's. In fact, going with them is better than going to SolarCity or somebody else like that. They're a good company, but I would tell my friends to research other ones.

Our bill was too high so I wanted to use solar and reduce our bill. We liked the proposal and the guarantee of SunLux. Their reps were also fast to respond to anything we needed. I paid cash. The cost was a little bit higher than others but it was reasonable. It took a day to do all the installation and they were good at their work. But the city was pretty strict and the installers had to come back a couple of times to fix a couple of things for the inspection. I like SunLux and I would recommend them to other people.

Going solar seemed to be a cheaper deal than regular electrical service. And the price of SunLux was 2,000 less. The experience was pretty straightforward and it seemed to be honest. However, the paperwork process took a little longer than I anticipated going back and forth with the financial people. There was also quite a bit of paperwork and it took time to read it all. But once they got started, they came out and put the panels on. And it took about two and a half days.
It was unfortunate that the days they scheduled to come, the wind was just really blowing hard. And it tended to pick up in the afternoon so they would work in the morning and head out early in the afternoon. And then the next day, they did it again. And the final day, they were sort of wrapping it up and cleaning up too. And then the city inspector came out and that went okay as well. And I told him to add this and add that. And once that was over, I turned it on and it has been working okay ever since. I’d recommend SunLux.

As an agent, I've seen a lot of people get housed with solar. I wanted to do it, too, since I wanted to save money. So, I did my investigation and I was concerned about the person who was connecting me to SunLux. I happened to have a great deal of respect for them. They were very upfront and transparent with the process and with the cost. We sat down at the kitchen table, reviewed what my expectations were, and made sure that all of my concerns were addressed with the products that they had available. I didn't want an accelerated rate and I wanted to know that I have the ability in the contract to say that my system could be purchased at the end of the 20 years for a certain amount. I was also unwilling to negotiate on the 10 per kilowatt.
I was experienced in understanding how the stuff works, so I laid my card up on the table upfront and they told me what they offered as well as the two choices I had. Then I picked my choice and we signed a contract. The installation kind of sucked, though, and whoever they had doing it screwed up a few times. In fact, it took about 30 to 45 days to get it right so, I wouldn't recommend the group installers that came. At first, the system wasn't functioning and they had to come back several times to work on it. I also referred my parents and my parents' system was installed for 30 days. It was not functioning at first either. Still, I would refer SunLux and just tell my friends to make sure they request the best set of installers that the company has.

On a level pay plan with Edison, I was paying $228 a month after month for electricity. Everything in the house is electric and so it was getting expensive. My nephew used SunLux Energy for his house and then my brother also put it in his house and they said they didn’t put a dime out, so I went ahead and did it thinking it would not cost me additional money to put it in. And indeed, there was no cost out of pocket at all.
Their representatives were decent, but we had a lot of problems as far as filling out the forms correctly, my HOA giving them a problem, and they didn’t fill something else out and they had to resubmit it. Also, the city kept taking it back and eventually, SunLux had to put an entire electrical panel because the city said that this wouldn’t pass. So it ended up costing them more money than anticipated.
I’m happy with the products installed and they have a warranty for it, but if I get a leak in it on the roof, I’m on the hook for that because the people here in the townhome complex I live in want no responsibility to the solar at all. Other than that, it’s up and running now and they just started billing in January. My bill in February was less than $18 and I wanted to go through a year just to see what it does. My solar payment was roughly $70 a month, so if I were to pay about $50 for electricity, it would still be cheaper than what I was paying before.
The solar service was great, but my brother used them for doing some electrical work in his house and was very displeased with it. It took them forever to do the re-wiring of the electricity to put the solar and they never got the city inspectors in, so we hope it was up to code. So I wouldn’t recommend them for electrical work, but SunLux Energy did a great job with the solar and they remedied anything that came up.

We wanted reduced electrical bills, so we went with solar energy. Whereas a lot of other solar energy providers had mixed reviews, the reviews of SunLux Energy were very good. In addition, their overall cost was very good. We called SunLux after looking at the reviews. Jerry, the salesman we dealt with, was excellent. He came out and he was very informative, nice, and low-pressure. It looked like a good match, so we went with SunLux.
The crew did a good job with the installation. But there were several visits from the city inspector and he kept finding things that supposedly weren’t according to the code and that needed correcting. So, the crew keep coming back and doing the fixes. Since we were so far away from where they were coming from, the installation process took a little longer than we expected. But finally, two days ago, we got the final approval and our SunLux service just got turned on.
Everything is up and running, and our solar energy service looks good so far. We got a call today from one of the managers at SunLux and he said he would monitor it and make sure that we get the permit to operate. Then, in a couple of months, he’d give us a call and review our first bill so that we would understand how our solar energy service interacts with our billing. There was a slight, additional charge to redo our electrical panel, but SunLux was willing to go 50-50 on it. I would recommend SunLux Energy.

I was familiar with SunLux through the neighborhood and they presented some good reason so that it would work. Before I was by myself and now I have my daughter also living here so that made a big difference in how much electricity we use. The SunLux rep explained it very well. But almost immediately the doves built houses underneath the panels so I had to have somebody come out and it was like $500 to fix it. It took me a while to get the information on who to contact and find out how much it was going to be because I didn't expect that when I got the panels. They should at least let people know that could happen because other people in the neighborhood also had doves building nests and they made a really big mess.

I was really excited and surprised when I personally received a call from the owner of the company. He took the time to explain to me the difference between the installation company and the leasing company and the pivotal role each play in the solar process.
It means a lot to me when the owner of a company follows up with concerns from a consumer. It is exactly the customer service I give to my clients and expect from others. Way to go SunLux. I give you 5 stars for our outstanding customer service skills and can't wait to do business with you on my commercial building!

I was tired of my payment. I did a little research and SunLux was the fastest to respond. The representative was fine and very helpful, but it was really weird with the install. They came and said that it was finished and then we’ll have the final inspection. But they didn’t finish and then we failed the inspection and then they had to come out again.
Also, we were told that we would have enough panels that we would not have an electricity bill because of these panels, and that for years, we wouldn't be making a lot more than what we used, and that was not the case. I actually have to pay an electricity bill. The solar panels, which were leased, were not enough. And so, it left me dissatisfied. So, I would not recommend the company again. And it was a little bit pricey. I’m in real estate and I have a client who got four more panels than I did and she’s paying $30 less a month. I was going to use SunLux for my business but I’m not going to because I wasn’t very happy.

I leased the solar panels, but only because I didn't know anything about it. I wish I could've seen the options to get a loan for it. But the process was easy and I didn't do much. I just did a couple of DocuSign things, and they sent me an email and wanted some more DocuSign documents to approve the design.
The installation guys were great. I knew they had to travel far and I was thinking they were gonna show up late, but they showed up right on time and they were there when they said they were going to be there. They upgraded my whole electrical box which would have cost me a couple of thousands. The other solar guys before told me that I might need to upgrade it, but they never offered to redo it. The guys at SunLux came and said, "We'll upgrade it and that's all included." So I got a new electrical panel. Everything went great and I was very satisfied. Also, if I needed to expand my system, it won't be a problem as they would expand it. And in the event that the system I had was not efficient or I needed to add more panels to it, they would do that. It was basically made that we have it for free.

I knew that getting permits take time because I had that issue with having a patio cover put on. But he said that they do it all with the computer and it'd be really quick. So, I didn't trust them.
Everybody at SunLux was very helpful and if I called with any questions, they would get back to me. They did everything in a timely manner, though getting the permit from the city prevented them from starting sooner. We started it in December then my solar was installed at the beginning of February. On the first day, the installers set up the rails and did all the electrical part of it. They had to go in the attic and wire to the outside of the house so that took a long time. Then, they came back on the second day and they installed the panels. They were only here for an hour and a half and it was pretty quick. They were all really good. I would also get emails with updates about when they projected that it would be approved by the city, plus, they sent me copies of plans that they had sent to the city.
Then, on the day of the inspection, the inspectors were notified that the inspection would be in the morning but SunLux had an afternoon appointment scheduled. We shopped around for solar energy companies and not only was SunLux extremely fair priced but they were a little more honest and straightforward as far as telling us what we really need and didn't need. And it was all around like a real class act company. We purchased our panels outright. We are planning on keeping this house for another 50 years, so leasing or renting didn't make any sense. Joe and Steve, the reps that I was working with, were fantastic. They were the owners and they were just starting up the company. I really recommend them.
We were redoing our backyard and putting in the swim spa and then a regular spa. And what Joe did was, he contacted the spa company and got to speak to one of their engineers. And he found out how much voltage and amperage each of the spas was going to take to make sure that we were getting a system that would help offset that additional usage we're going to be having. They went above and beyond. It was really a fantastic company.
The tough part of the installation process was dealing with Southern California Edison. The amount of red tape that they have to have and go through is ridiculous. And Joe also took care of all of that. Every couple of weeks, he'd call up and tell me what they wanted. And instead of going directly to Southern California Edison, I'd give it to Joe and he was the intermediary between all of them. And then once we've finally got the approval from Southern California Edison, two days later, they did the installation. And we have 44 panels, which is a fairly large system, but in two days, it was done. Then we had to wait another two and a half weeks for Southern California Edison to have somebody come out and sign off on it and then once they did that within an hour, they put the switch and we were off and running.
The people who came out and got the system set up were very nice, and respectful. We have tiled roofs down here in California and they can be kind of brittle because of all the wildfires and they did not have a single problem. They went up there, they were really careful, and they were super clean, too. We have friends who went with another company that we almost went with and they have the system half the size and it took them a week and a half to get it installed. And also, we ended up getting a better price and a much better equipment. SunLux was awesome from beginning to end.
They have these microinverters, where they have one on each of the individual panels. So that if one of these goes out, it's just that one panel that's not going to produce, where with our friends, theirs went out and none of the panels would work until they got that part replaced. So, ours is a much better system and even though our system size is doubled, we are not paying double the price. And it makes it a very great system. I've already referred SunLux. They are the best.

It's quite hot in the summer from where we live so our electricity bill is quite high. We'd like to be environmentalists too so we decided to use solar energy. A lot of people that we know in the development community recommended SunLux Energy and since they had a better reputation, we went with them. Their rep, Mike, was very nice, very knowledgeable and worked with us to see what fits our budget and our needs. He was easy to reach. If we had any questions, he was available. We financed our solar panels, SunLux Energy ordered them and then they sent out a crew who installed it on a date I was given. The crew was great. Two of the panels were broken so they made arrangements to make sure they were replaced. We would recommend SunLux because we had a great experience with them.

We live in Southern California, so air conditioning especially almost the whole year can be very expensive. We had a couple of friends who made the move to solar energy and they said that it was saving them money so we decided to do some homework and thought it was a good idea. I researched first on different panels and warranties. I narrowed it down to a certain group of either panel and/or warranties that I was looking for and once I had that, I did a comparison online of the companies that sent us proposals. I also considered how responsive the salesperson was to my questions. SunLux wasn't the cheapest but it wasn't the most expensive. They were right in the middle which was a good sign.
I work in sales myself and I feel comfortable working with reps. The one I got was local and was pretty honest. Some of the other salespeople were fast talkers. The one I had, we were both brought up in the same area and I felt like he understood as a homeowner what we were looking for. He didn't oversell us. I got a little nerdy with the technology and was really interested in how things work, even though that was kind of out of my realm. He was patient and he gave me information about the science which nobody else really could do. That impressed me and I felt like he knew what the product he was selling. We paid outright for the panels.
The only thing overall was on the sales end. There was a customer service gal who checked in with us every so often during the installation. Sometimes, I didn't know which one of them to call about my question. There were a few times when I was like bugging one when I should have been bugging the other. Once we got the installation going, the customer service gal took over and I didn't really understand that. Sometimes I reached out to the rep Mike and got forwarded to her. I caught that after about two times of doing it. They could have told me in the beginning that that was going to happen. But I felt like I didn't know who this customer service gal was. But she turned out to be really great so it wasn't really a big deal.
The installation process had a few small hiccups too. We had a few tiles in our room that broke and the guys forgot to take them away. But as soon as I told the customer service gal, she sent them back to come and get them. Also, our electrical panel needed an extra circuit section that they didn't have right away when they did the installation. The guy was supposed to come back and do it the next day. But a different guy showed up and he didn't have the part so we didn't pass our first inspection. That was a conundrum.
The most experienced guy had to be sent out because it was a special case. I had about three technicians come to the house and they didn't know how to do it and they didn't have the part. They all showed up with the generic one that didn't fit. They never sent the same guy who could have known. I didn't understand why there was a communication hiccup. I got a little frustrated about that. Our panels were in our garage so one of us had to be here.
Other than those, I would recommend SunLux to a friend. Even with the hiccups, I always felt like somebody took the call and was trying to help. We had a weird issue with our box and it took somebody with a little more knowledge to get it going. Once they sent the big honcho guy out, he was knew what was going on. But never on one point did I ever feel like they weren't trying to make it right.

We have been using the solar system from SunLux Energy for about a year now. We're concerned about the environment, and also, we like the fact that when we started using their solar system, our expense for the electricity is fixed at a price for the next 20 years. I have talked to six different companies, but eventually, I chose SunLux. The company was local and I like supporting local companies. And their rep was very kind. His name is Michael and whenever we had things we didn't understand, he responded to our questions very fast.
After we decided to use them, they set up a time, then another company came and put up the system. We designed the system for us and Michael said that it should cover our needs. So, we shouldn’t expect to pay more than what the solar system generated, and that is actually true. Right now, we use only 95%. So, we get a little bit left. Michael advised us not to try to get it back in money terms rather, just keep it there. There’s a price difference of how much Edison pays us for the electricity, for putting the grid versus if we need them to cover the insufficiency of the solar system. So, it doesn’t make sense for us to get the money back. We kept the energy in watt terms and when we do need it, we get whatever is the value.

I decided to go solar to reduce the overall cost of electricity and to be environmentally friendly. Several close friends of mine have used SunLux and it sounded to be not only the best price in town but also the best performing company in lines of solar. So I got a quote from SunLux, and Victor, the rep that came out, gave me all the information like the kind of panels he will be giving me and then told me to shop around but guaranteed that other companies won't beat their price. I had gotten quotes from other companies. And before I met SunLux I might have gone with another company. My girlfriend happens to be an attorney and she started reading the fine print on the contract with that company. After a couple of questions, the salesman stopped returning the call and we realized they were ripping us off. We got none of that with SunLux. They were very upfront about everything. So I bought their panels.
Victor was very knowledgeable, personable, down to earth and responsive. He wasn't like a salesman but a personal friend showing the product. Everybody that I met with SunLux did a phenomenal job. From the guys that installed the panel to the salesman were very professional. They did a very clean, neat job. I'm vain all about the way things look. They ended up having to rip the side of my house apart to put a new panel box in and everything else. But after everything was patched up and cleaned up, my house looked better than it did when they started. SunLux’s price was a bit better than everybody else was and I would have paid more for the overall service I got from them and the way they treated me from start to finish. They were really quality. I've had the system for about a year and I haven't had to call anybody to look or fix anything. It's been good for a year.

SunLux was recommended to me by my neighbor. At that time my city was providing a rebate when you go with solar energy so I had the potential to save money. Their representative provided all the information I needed. He was actually competing against Solar City but at the end of the day he came up with a better pricing than Solar City. Also he followed up consistently and then I got to meet some of the SunLux team.
So I leased the solar panels from them and their crew did a good job installing them. Although one of the guys didn't put a tile up on the roof, there was another guy that came back to put it back. Also I had to tell where I wanted everything because they wanted to do it their way, which I didn't think was the best way to do it. So eventually they switched to make it happen the way I wanted it. At the end of the day they did the best they could to get it done the right way.
They can improve their calculation of the amount of power I would be able to produce. I'm on a year of having my solar system and it did not produce what it was guaranteed it would produce, which makes my return on investment isn't as worth as I thought. I called SunRun and told them about the issue, that I was paying more electricity to the city than what I was getting in return from them. They said that all they can do is reimburse the difference of the amount of power I was not able to generate, and it will more than likely continue for the following years and more because of the panel degrade and I'm not quite happy about that. But overall SunLux's customer service was good.

Somebody from SunLux called and they sent someone who convinced us that their product will reduce our electricity. When I was in Edison Company I had a 20% discount so sometimes they charge me less and sometimes almost nothing. I only paid $1.45. And then the following month it's more especially when during summer. I'm paying the same every month with SunLux. The first solar company that came was SunRun and they charged me more than SunLux. It's better for me to go solar especially when summer comes. So when summer comes I'll see if SunLux would charge me the same as I was told.
The reps from SunLux were very helpful. If I had a problem I called them and they were willing to assist me. The installation process was okay. One time I had a problem with my electricity as it just shut off. I had to call SunLux and I was glad they came and fixed it for me. We purchased a home that was almost 4,000 square feet with a pool. We knew that our electric bill will be going to be sky high if we didn't have solar and it was definitely the savings that made us go with SunLux. At the time, they were offering almost $3,000 gift card. A Visa Card back once the solar was installed. We purchased the system and the process was relatively easy. But the installers left quite a mess in our yard and the last time they didn't even tell us they were leaving, leaving our garage door open. We were also a little frustrated with the reps. Our representative was okay but he was very difficult to get a hold of and they kept pushing back our install date.
When we did our initial sit down with them, we told them we wanted to have a 100% coverage for our house so there would possibly be some sort of refund or we wouldn't owe anything at the end of the year from the electric company. We just received an update stating that our end of the year which is next month and we've had it since February last year. We were under the impression through the summer that we had a 100% coverage. We would get our bills from the electric company saying we owe a $1.50- $1.65. Nothing more than $2. I thought because we had solar, that's all we were going have to pay. Nobody explained to us that they're drawing more energy during the summer month. Right now we've got a balance of almost $1,500 that we're going to have to pay come next month.
We had a representative come out about a week and a half ago to verify that the solar is operating properly, that all the panels are working properly. They're apparently going to get back to us. The lack of communication from them was very frustrating. Especially now, getting that last minute bill and especially after Christmas I'm surprised. They definitely did not explain the whole process to us as far as what was concerned. I would suggest others who are interested in them to ask a lot of questions.

I don't feel comfortable using electricity for air conditioning because I can’t afford it so I never run my air-conditioning. But I'd be roasting and not comfortable and not do anything because it's too hot in the house. I have high electric bills. So, by getting solar, I can run my air-conditioning, feel comfortable and not feel stressed out about electric bills.
I had three providers come out and do estimates and they said my average electric usage wasn't high enough and that I didn't qualify. My level pay plan was $48 a month. A representative from SunLux went through the program and said that he could get it through. I told him I wanted my money back if it didn't. I didn't want to pay for something if it couldn't get hooked up. He guaranteed it and said that I needed the breaker box upgrade. I said I wanted the breaker box and wanted it definite because this house was built in '64 and I knew the box was maxed out. I didn't want them to find a way around it and not give it to me. They put it in the contract that I would get a breaker box upgrade and I did. They were really good. They did a beautiful job with the panels too.
I was surprised during the installation though because they told me everything would be done in the attic. When they went to get the permit, grantors didn’t allow that because they wanted firefighters to see where the electrical was if there was ever a fire. And going to the roof, they wanted to know that they were not axing through electrical wiring and stuff. So our city required it all to be on the roof. I understood that and I'd rather have the firefighter and be safe than sorry, and I didn’t care if it didn't look as nice.
SunLux took care of getting the permit but it took two weeks to get it when I could have gotten it a day. I had other work done and got all the other permit the same day. And with the solar, they said they wouldn't let me do it and that they had to take care of it so it dragged that out. But when they came out, they were really quick and got the solar panel up. After everything was done, they updated the breaker and stuff. It took them three days. The entire process was good and of the five different contractors I had, SunLux was one of the best.
When the app wasn't updating regularly and I thought that was just part of it, I called in and complained that I wish I had it more current. They said that since I had Wi-Fi, they could have it updated immediately within a couple of minutes. They would have to let me know more about the app though because they told me about it and said that I just use it. But they didn't give me any user guide, any explanation or what I could use with it. I'm 60 and I'm not into computers as much as other people probably are.

I was desperate so I made a call to SunLux, and their rep seemed like he was willing to accommodate anybody that called him. I financed the SunLux panels and though it's only been three months, I’m almost done paying for it. We have two solar systems - we have an off-grid and an on-grid. So, I hired two separate companies to do the work and the installers were good. They worked hard, fast and they did a great job. Now we have free electricity. My son has solar from SunLux Energy so I decided to get solar from them as well. Their salesman came out and based on what they told me, I was okay with SunLux and went with it. My interaction with their rep was good. He was upfront, explained some things, told me how the process works and didn’t really pressure me to buy. It was like, "Here it is, here’s what we have to offer. Let me know what you think, and I’ll bring back the engineers and we can tell you how it goes together." I gave them a down payment and they told me based on the number of panels and the down payment, what my monthly payment was going to be. And then I made a withdrawal and that was the end of it. The installation went quickly and smoothly.
The installers told me how big my panels were. I’ve only had them come out to look at the system once after it was installed so I don’t know whether the thing is running at maximum performance. The problem I’ve had with them was their billing. One month I’d get billed for double, one month I wouldn’t get billed for anything. And they kept putting it off as a computer glitch, and it happened more than once. So, I had to call them, and I had to call San Francisco trying to get it resolved. And I got the same company line, “Oh, we have a computer problem we’re so sorry.” But that doesn’t solve my problem trying to keep my record straight, and then I had a couple of months where they didn’t bill me and then suddenly billed me for a little bit and I called and said, “How come I didn’t get billed this month?” They can’t tell me. So, that’s foolish.
If it continues to work like it is right now, I have no problems with it. Because there’s only about a third of what I was paying. My average electric bill was over 500 bucks a month, no matter what I did. And then during heat months during summer, it was over 700. So, based on what I pay and the way it’s working out, I’m just as happy as a pig in the mud. I would tell my friends to call these people and listen to what they have to offer. They did everything they told me they were going to do and they did it in the time frame that they told me they were going to do it. They explained to me how it was going to go even though I don’t like them crawling on my roof and I gave them a bad time about that. It scares me because the roof is 30 years old. But they did everything they said on time, they told me straight up what the cost was going to be, and it was my decision whether it's a yes or no.

We use a lot of electricity and I like to run my little portable heater. We looked into going solar and my husband constantly talked to the SunLux salesperson and he was very happy with him. The installer was very nice and very professional. He told me everything that was going to happen and where things were going to go. He even asked me if I was okay with the wires going certain ways. And I liked the way it looks. I don't have wires all over my house. It was very good, and we have recommended SunLux to two of our friends.

The installation process was also good and the project manager was definitely professional. We've had our panels for four months, and I’m not worried about my electrical bill anymore. Overall, SunLux has great customer service and great sales and installation teams. I would highly recommend them.

I am very pleased with the decision that I made of going solar with SunLux. The sales rep listened to my family’s needs and tailored a solar package that worked out best for our family needs. Also, Sunlux is a local company with an office in Ontario, CA and that made us feel at ease as I had the option to walk into their office if I needed anything. At the time of installation, the ground crew staff was very clean, punctual, friendly and answered all my questions. I am a very satisfied Sunlux customer.

SunLux Energy was referred by a colleague at work and I reached out to them. The number that I had was one of the executives’ and he got right back to me and came and did the evaluation himself, which he didn't typically do anymore. But because it was through a colleague at work, he wanted to follow through with it and made sure everything was good. I've had SunLux since it June. I did a financing for my solar panels and it's an eight-year 4.99% APR. It's really good. There was no money down and then, I had the options of loans. And the loan that they got was through a credit union in LA. It's a really good loan and it turned out to be 215 bucks a month. I see that as a really nominal amount year-round in comparison to the fact that I was paying close to that, plus if I wasn't conserving. I'm a technical person so I felt very comfortable with the level of explanation I received.
There was some rescheduling that they did but they threw in some additional things for me for no additional cost because they messed scheduling day. The boss of the guys called and apologized and they absolutely made up for miscommunication during the installation. It was a multi-day installation because I had a bit of work done in addition to just installing the panels although they could install the panels in a day. The installation turned out excellent and it was beautiful. I decided to go with solar energy because the air conditioning is really costly to run. I installed it a couple of years ago but couldn't really take advantage of it. I have a hot tub which is also electrical. I had tried running my air conditioning the whole month and it was $450 electric bill, which was really insane. So, I didn't run it and I didn't plug in my hot tub yet. I tried to conserve as much power as I could.
And one of the other things that I really wanted to be done was have my main panel swapped out and upgrade my service from 100 amp to 200 amp. I had previously scoped this project with SolarCity and they said at the beginning that they could do it. Then, they backed out and refused to do that portion of it so I ended up dropping that. I run my air conditioning all day during the summer now and I can even leave my windows open with the air conditioning running because my bill is still only ¢75. I'm generating enough power to completely offset my bill. SolarCity wouldn't build a system that was going to be large enough to perform an offset and they needed a year's worth of evidence to perform the offset. However, SunLux was willing to file an additional addendum that allowed them to build a bigger system.
Acknowledging that before I installed the system, I was purposely using less energy. And so, if companies are only allowed to build a system as big as all of that conserving, that's not what I wanted. I wanted something much bigger and that's what SunLux was able to do. SunLux beats SolarCity. They're offering a really good deal. My total loan was for $25,000 and I got a 10,000 power unit system whereas, for the exact same price, I got a 5200 with $25,000 through SolarCity so SunLux has as much solar output from SolarCity for the same price. SunLux was as efficient as their product that they delivered.

A guy that we had a meeting with got us to sign up with a company that he was with then. When we initially wanted to get solar panels, we didn't feel well informed at the moment. Then he moved to SunLux and gave us a call. We understood it better with the way he described and explained solar energy to us a lot more. He said that SunLux is a better company. It was his customer service that sealed the deal. He was amazing and was able to address our concerns. He's so fast and efficient to answer any other questions we had, whether it was a text message or an email.
We are leasing the solar panels for the next 20 years. Going through that process was super easy. Installation was super fast and easy as well. However, we had to wait for the city, which was a bummer and was out of our control. But, aside from that, everything else went great. Everybody at the office was nice. We missed our first appointment since the city guy didn't want to stay longer than five minutes. The representatives were really accommodating to set it up within the next two days. The installer redid the panel upgrade for four hours which was awesome since the electricity was supposed to be off for 24 hour. At that moment, I just had my daughter, and had a ton of frozen breast milk in my freezer so that four hours was super efficient. Plus, we ran a cord from my mother-in-law's house to our house. He was also concerned if my daughter’s asleep and if he’s making too much noise which was definitely nice.
September was our first bill and we were iffy about that. We were going to give our representative a call since we were told that we would still be getting bills from Edison, but not to pay them until the end of the year. But, from a $497 bill to our first one with SunLux with $98, to $2.41 for our second bill, because I’m assuming they prorated it, this tells me our panels are doing what they're supposed to do. And then, this month's bill is $36.07, which is still not bad considering on a normal October bill, it would have been $270 as the average for the last four years that we've lived here. That's good, considering that we have the pool pump that has to go for eight hours and TVs in every room. Also, we have a big square footage of the house, so it requires a lot more lighting and more usage of electricity.
We're super excited that we have a set bill. When July comes wherein our usual bill was $400, we can use that extra $300 for other things, which we've been doing. We have been recommending SunLux to the few people we know and if we knew more people who owned houses, we would definitely recommend them. Our experience with them was great!

I wanted to lower my bill and thought about being more energy wise. I called multiple companies and set up appointments. SunLux gave me the best price for the quality of the solar panels that they had available. The one that I spoke to first, Michael, told me he could give me a good deal. He showed me basically what he sold. He also knew what everybody else was selling and showed me which ones were better. Plus, he said he could even get me the other cheaper ones if I wanted to. The installation went quickly. The longest period of time was spent waiting as the city didn't approve something and SunLux explained to me that they have never encountered that before with other installations, even in Corona, where I'm from. They told me that they'd fix it right away. The city eventually came and okayed it. Everything was good to go after that.
The price is high right now since solar panels are relatively new, but I feel like I got what I paid for. I love the product and I don't feel that I got an inferior one. We've been with them for four months now and have had big savings. Our bill is down from $207 a month to $18 a month. I'm really happy with the company. Plus, all the people I spoke to were really easy to work with and attentive to my wants and needs.

A year ago, I got a quote from a couple of other companies, then SunLux came in and they had a pretty good price. We paid cash for it and the service has saved me $5000. Plus, their service is good. Dan, the rep was really good. He kept following up, which is good since I had to get my wife get involved. They had some faults with their scheduling though. They didn't do everything all at once. They should have said that my roof needed more paper after coming in. When they came to inspect it, they should have lifted the tile up and seen that I had to put more tar paper down, but they didn't. They just came, measured it, and left.
I just had the roof repaired and when they came to put it in, they pulled up the tiles on the roof. They said that they didn't repair it all the way across and I agreed with that. I paid them to put new paper down and they did. But when they left, there was some tiles that were not put back. I called them up and they said that they'll get it straightened out that week and they did. They came and straightened it out. But when they came to measure it, they lifted up the tile and said that the last guy did not do it as he should have so they came back and redid them again. It was very good and they did it right. My association and the city approved it. I'd recommend going for them.

We like to have our house cooler and don’t like to pay the bill for it. It’s also about just going green. We shopped around for solar panels and SunLux Energy seemed to be more prepared when they presented it to us. The rep was very professional however, they kept downplaying the other solar company a lot. He should keep that to a minimum. But other than that, he was good. There was a couple of times that we had a hard time reaching him and he said that he’s realistically always available. If he doesn’t get to us within an hour, he will get to us within the six-hour time frame. Sometimes, it would take him a day or two. But I can only imagine how busy he is with everybody going solar nowadays.
We leased our solar panels and the price of it was better. The installers showed up earlier than what we were told, which was great. My grandson has SunLux, so I got it too. I had been thinking about solar since the 80s. My nephew has worked for solar when it was barely starting in Arizona. When I was living in Arizona, the electricity prices were so high. Our bill was always over $300 every month, winter or summer. In the winter, it was so cold. The summer was so hot that something was going all the time. When they started selling solar, I started thinking about it. My nephew would tell and explain to us about the benefits since he was a salesman but we weren't really into it because the people that I was around couldn't afford it.
My bill last month was only $1 something. These past months it's only been about $1 or $2 when the heat was so high. During the summer, it's so hot that our air conditioner was going day and night. Everybody I've talked to has been really nice. They are very good people. The installers were also nice. The only problem we had was that the public service company left a hole in the wall. They already fixed it, but my son had to call them a few times and I called them a few times as well. They said they'd be here in a few days, but they never showed up. I have a niece that lives in Fontana and I told her about getting solar because she's buying her own home. Her bills are very high as well during the summer. We want to see if she's going to break down. They say they don’t want people walking on their roofs and messing it up.

We were thinking about savings and the future of energy, and we thought that going with solar energy has to happen eventually. We couldn't find a company that would do with shingle roof, and so, when SunLux came and they could do it, we went with them. We purchased from them at the beginning of the year and the system started around April or May.
Their sales rep was very accommodating. We drilled him because we didn't want our roof ruined and we hesitated a few times trying to figure out if Sunlux was the right company. We also found other companies, but when we checked the references or their business as a whole, we weren’t very confident. So it took a while before we decided but their sales rep was very patient and never gave up. I appreciated that. He also made sure that we would get whatever information we needed right away and once the process started, he made sure that the team that was doing the work would get right back to us if we had any questions. Their installation team was also good. But they didn't have the right color of paint for the tubing and the conduits that they used. So, they came back a week later. I made a phone call to find out where they were on that because I didn't want them to drop the ball. But they worked great, did it quickly and there was no mess.
If one doesn't have a solar energy system, he/she is losing a lot of money. So I have recommended SunLux to friends. It's not a huge company, but it worked. We could get a bill in the summer for $500-$600 and right now, with the air conditioning running in the hottest months, it was between $200 and $400. We also ended up putting a few extra panels in because we intend to get a heater for the pool hooked up to it, and it will pay for itself in a year or two. We're paying under $200 for the system anyway and that’s considerably lower.

The customer service and warranties were comparable to the other companies, but SunLux's pricing was amazing and competitive. They offered high line solar panels for a cheaper price than the 5 other companies that I've asked. Guillermo, the sales rep and part owner, was awesome. He took good care of us. Sunlux set up all of the city inspections for us, around our schedule and we didn't have to worry about anything throughout the process. Going with solar energy is something I always wanted to do for a while. And through the HERO program, SunLux Energy was the first one to say that they could do it. In my frame of mind at that time, I don't think we were going to pass because SunLux was not our first contact. But they were just the ones that said we could get them through credit. Also, their representative took the time to give a very understanding presentation. She was very patient as far as questions and answers, and they weren't just answers off the top of her head. She points to her resources for her answers in cases there was any doubt.
And so, we got our solar panels through financing, and from what I was told, the benefit to purchasing them as opposed to leasing is that it might be cheaper. You still end up paying - not as much in the very long term - but still be paying almost like it is still hooked up into the Edison. With leasing, the payments just never end.
The installation crew worked during the hours I was working. So, by the time I got there, everybody was gone. But I looked at it afterwards as stages were progressing and everything seemed to be going like the way it was explained to me. I was also impressed because I really could not tell the work unless I look at what was actually done. They did a very good clean-up job.
And while the cost of the service was fair, something happened just this weekend. Somebody took out our power pole and that took out all the electricity from the block. I had an idea before, that when we hook into the solar, it would be independent of Edison but then, I found out in a very abrupt way that it's not. You're still hooked into them.
The way it was explained to me once I was panicking and had to call my sales rep was that even though you have your panels, you're still hooked into the Southern California Edison. And if something happens to their system, your system still will go down too. That was something I don't know. I thought that when we hooked into the panels, we were independent of the system. The sales rep further explained that the only thing they do with panels is my provider gets changed, but everything still goes through Edison. Had I known that, I probably wouldn't have made the purchase because I thought that when I got into solar or even wind, I would get away from Edison. This is not the case in any aspect. I misunderstood the information.

We live in Santa Clarita which is technically the desert. And so, our electric bills in the summer were anywhere up to $650 a month for three to four months a year. That’s more than half of my house payment and it was outrageous. For seven years we're in drought including Christmas mornings when it was 90 degrees. It was miserable so that was the big reason I decided to go solar. I interviewed five different companies and they all came out. But SunLux was the one that offered the best deal, most honest, and knew their product better than most of the other companies. Their warranty was the best out of any of them and it was also the cheapest. One of the three owners of the company came out to pitch for us. He was training someone. And so, you have people that are truly still involved in this business, not just, “Hey, we're selling franchises all over the state.” It was a good deal and it is a well-run company.
Mike was the first person that I met. He broke it down and we talked about leasing. My parents had gotten solar 15 years ago. I was really against going solar because when they would sell a house, it was contingent and that stopped them from selling their house. I was looking into leasing and into buying, and, when you buy, you save about 29%. So, in 12 years, I will own all my equipment which is then warrantied for 25. Leasing is fine. But if I want to save the most money because we are in California, they were offering higher rebates and that’s going to pay for a huge chunk on my solar. Mike came out. The biggest problem that we had was that our city is a nightmare to get permits through because they take forever. They warned me that some city is going to be a little bit longer so it could be up to a month.
And so, they actually projected that everything will be up and running in about six weeks. But the girl in the office kept in touch with me through that whole time waiting to get the permit. It took almost the full month to get the permit and on the day she got it, she called me. They set up the crew to come out. The project manager came out with them and they were incredibly efficient, the nicest, and most professional. I was totally impressed. We had thunderstorms in the morning. So, I called Mike and I said, “Hey, we are supposed to have thunderstorms. I don't know if I want the guys up on the roof. I don’t want anybody getting hurt.” He said that they knew what they’re doing and that they will be coming out. And if it was dangerous, they won’t. They came out and we escaped the thunder until 10 minutes after they left.
They got up there and the only issue that we had was that I was going to have them run it through the attic. However, they did it on the roof and the foreman told us not to worry, and that they will change it. I went outside and saw that they have painted it to look just like my house. You can't even see it unless you know exactly where it is. So, I told them that it was fine, and that it was no big deal at all. But he was willing to come back the next day and reroute the whole thing. They were fantastic from start to finish. There was no mess left behind and it was done in a couple of hours. There's an app where you can check to make sure all your cells are working and how much you're saving. It's very cool. I got calls a couple of times since installation. They called me to let me know that they were going to have the project manager meet Edison out here because, at the end, Edison had to come out and okay it.
Getting an appointment with them took a little bit longer. They met in my front yard, went into the side, showed everything, checked it out, and they were gone. It was great. I checked and interviewed five different companies, but Mike’s SunLux was the only one that did not try to oversell me the panels. I have 22 and another company was trying to sell 10 panels over that, where I would not have gotten any sun. So, it wouldn’t have worked.

The project manager was very good as well. She answered all my questions and helped me out in getting some login credentials. We paid upfront for the solar panels so we could have savings and to see if we could get a tax credit.
SunLux also handled all the permits. Then the installers showed up on the time they said they would and it took a day and a half to go through the whole procedure, but it went exactly as how they described in terms of who would show up and what exactly they would need access to. They were very courteous and respectful.
The panels are always working well and aesthetically, I like it. However, I suggest SunLux provide a walk through the system at the end of the installation so we’ll know where the boxes are installed, what they mean, what they do and what to do when the power goes out. But for the most part, they were pretty good and they're probably better than a lot of their competitors. I would definitely recommend them.

It's not the people and how they interact because they're really nice people. It's just the timeframe thing that is a little bit lacking. They're telling me they have to wait until the county inspector schedules the inspection. So, they came out, did the first inspection and there were some corrections that needed to be made. The text that they've sent out just this past Monday for the final inspection didn't read the directions carefully enough and so now, it's been postponed again. If we want to ask some questions, SunLux will give us a quick response. We can also pay less fees than before with the solar service. We're all happy and we recommended SunLux to our friend

My parents went solar and I decided to go that route too. I was also spending a lot of money for my electricity. I knew the manager, George, of SunLux Energy and I got a really good deal. He installed my parents’ system and I stick with people I already know when I buy or install products. Everything went by smoothly on their part but the city delayed the process and made it more difficult. But SunLux bent over backward to accommodate the city.
Their installers were also very professional and were here at the time they said they were going to be here. They got everything done in quickly and they triple checked to make sure everything was done properly. I also financed the solar panels and it was a better deal than leasing it. The finance was a very easy process. We went through the HERO Program and they required a couple of documents. It was provided and it was accepted. The cost was worth the quality that we got.

I had a high electricity bill and I was trying to see if I could save some money by going solar. I had a friend that recommended me to SunLux Energy. They had a credit team that helped me set up financing for my solar panels. Mike, their rep, looked at the roof and told me how many panels I could put up there. Then, he and his crew surveyed the house and did the installation in one day. They said they were going to do the work at a certain time and day because of the weather and they were punctual. They had it done with no excuses made and they were right on the money with everything they said. They changed the box on the side of the house, ran everything, and we’re up and running pretty quick. They even downloaded the app on my phone. Also, Mike’s a really good dude. I have his cellphone number and whenever I call him, he answers real fast or calls me back right away.

The government provides a 30% tax return for the system owner so I decided to get solar energy. I shopped around and SunLux had the best value for me. Their rep contacted me quite a bit and I was 100% comfortable working with him. He came in and gave me the contract. Then I signed it and he said there was an engineering blueprint that they submitted. After the CBE, they started the work under my roof and in about four days, they’re done. Their rep followed what I wanted and I started to get the power after that. Their service is pretty good and I'll recommend them.

The rep from SunLux came out to the house and was able to get it down to the chase. He wasn't trying to give me a sales pitch, which I appreciated because I had done all my research and just needed to know what they offered versus different companies and what the product was being used, and if I could interchange that if I wanted different panels or different systems. He was knowledgeable and was able to provide all the information upfront and it wasn't a game. They recommended financing the solar panels with Energy which I did and that process was easy, too.
Install went fine. They were able to upgrade my panel. However, they forgot to pull a permit, but it’s fine. They were able to do it after the fact and there were no issues except that the monitoring system is not recording so they're going to install a consumption monitoring. They're just waiting for the part. They've been communicating, which I appreciate and most of the hiccups have been out of their control. Cost-wise, SunLux is at par with other companies and they were able to do a little more. They threw in the upgrade which other companies were charging. Overall, the staff is knowledgeable and helpful specifically, Adam and Chris who have been great. I've already recommended them to three or four people.

SunLux Energy is not big as other big solar companies, but they will deliver what they're supposed to deliver. Their price and the technical knowledge of their rep made me want to work with them. He was very familiar with the process and very good in explaining things that I wanted to hear and understand. He also helped me on the files and was texting and emailing me with the schedules and city permits, so I was very well informed. It was a very smooth process and the installation was very simple. Also, the panel I ordered wasn't even available on the market at that time, but they were able to get that panel for me and helped me to install it.

SunLux has been very professional from sales through installation and aftercare. The salesman was available even after the sale was made for whatever we needed. Any concerns have been addressed quickly and professionally. I would highly recommend them!

SunLux gave me the best return on investment. The installation took a little bit longer than they said it was going to, but everything else worked fine once they got it up and running. I expected to see close to 11-kilowatts output in the peak of the day but I'm not seeing that. Still, my electric bill has gone from $500 a month to roughly $1.10 which I can afford. I would recommend them to a friend, no questions. And right now, I'm a happy camper since I don't have an electric bill anymore.

I was trying to save myself some money on electricity bill that is from Edison. The sales guy from SunLux Energy helped me get that started. He first approached me from another company and then somehow they messed up and it caused issues. Then he switched companies and he kept in contact. He finally got us set up to install the solar and it was all positive on his part. The installation went fine. They came in, did ground rounds, and installed all the electrical panels and stuff on the side of my house. And as soon as they got it up and running, it was good. SunLux definitely lowered my bill a lot and I would recommend them. Everybody was pretty informative and friendly when I needed to get questions answered.

The SunLux Energy reps were the most knowledgeable and were easy to work with. Plus, SunLux was able to offer me a lease option. I contacted at least a dozen other companies and have meet with them, and everybody wanted me to buy a system and they didn't really want to offer a lease. The rep that I had from SunLux was great. He sent me any information I needed and answered any of my questions straightforward. He was the best by far of all the people I talked to in the solar business. The installation process went very smoothly. It took a little longer than we expected, but the installation itself was right to the point. They did a great job and finished it in about a day. We just got our first bill and SunLux was definitely worth the money. I was trying to lower my cost over my Edison bill and SunLux accomplished that by far. I would definitely use them again and also recommend them to friends and neighbors.

To save money on my electric bills, I thought of going with a solar energy. SunLux Energy helped me make sure I got finance on everything so we went with them and we got everything taken care of quick and easy. The representatives came to my house, explained everything thoroughly and worked with me in all the details. They gave me the ins and outs of everything and took care of it. We were able to work with a program that worked well for me, which is the HERO program. The installation guy came out and installed everything. It took him a couple of days to take care of the installation. He did all the paperwork with the permits and everything was done very well. It was worth it so far, everything is working, so we'll see with the bills how they come up. I had a very good experience and I would recommend them to anybody.

I am very happy with my SunLux Solar System installed at my home in Corona, CA in July 2017. SunLux literally handled everything. Their representative visited me and presented what systems could be installed. That was soon followed with an on-site visit by the professional installers to determine the specifics of the install. A specification document was then presented to us. All of the numbers were clearly laid out in an understandable way. The installation was completed in one day. The installers came, installed and left my property clean. The install boss spoke to me and explained what was done and what would follow.
Inspection and approval followed and the system was turned on. SunLux’s representative was available to answer questions at all times. Their project coordinator handled the paperwork. Documents were emailed to me to review, discuss and sign and email back. She was available to give me the status of the process at all times or would take to steps to clarify what was not known. Very helpful and knowledgeable. All contacts with SunLux were professional and courteous. I would have SunLux do it again and I would recommend them to other homeowners.

My son got solar energy from SunLux and had a very good business experience with them so I decided to go with them too. We financed the solar panels and the representatives were very polite, clean and prompt. We enjoyed every bit of our interaction with them. The installation team took a total of three days to install the solar panels. They rewired our whole house as far as electrical, and that took a bit of time because of a plumbing issue that we had, but that's not their fault. SunLux is a very nice company to work with and they're very courteous. The cost of service was perfect and worth every penny. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I'd use them again.
