I bought a recliner and within the first week the chair broke from cheap pressed wood being used and thick cardboard & The fabric is ripped on one side as well. DO NOT BUY CHEAP FURNITURE FROM BIG LOTS. Buyer beware.

Ordered 4 items, waited 2 weeks, received 1 item and the other 3 were canceled. This has happened to me before. What is the point of ordering if you do not receive them? All done ordering from Big Lots.

On 11/06/23, I purchased a del Rio by Serta queen mattress and box spring set and hired a company to deliver it to my home where it has set safely with only one person sleeping on it one time. It suddenly developed a strong chemical about 2 weeks ago. It stunk so bad that I pulled it from the bed and stood it up to air out with door closed and a window cracked for aeration. It's totally unusable. I'm in process of trying to get a refund or a safer replacement. The label mentions it has polyurethane in the foam. I have learned it is a carcinogen and obviously isn't healthy. I'm currently attempting to deal with someone who can help solve this issue. Buyer beware.

Updated on 09/18/2024: See my original complaint... They charged interest when it was zero interest. Since then I thought it was all done. They sent a check for the interest charged and today while going over my bank statement...they actually canceled the check and of course my bank charged me! So glad they are going out of business because if this is how they do business, no one should have to deal with this.
Original review: Do not buy furniture here. They say it is 0 interest for 12 months but they lie and charge interest and then trying to correct the error, they give you the runaround. I will be reporting to the Better Business Bureau and report to corporate.

Bought a water fountain and gazebo from them. The water fountain is sent and they cancelled gazebo. Said they're out of stock without notifying me. Few days later get there, new ad. That gazebo is in sales ad. Called customer service. Why cancelled gazebo when new ad says they're in. Customer service said, "Don't have any," that they're working on correcting the ad. That's piss poor service that they can't honor a new ad and false advertising. If I can give Big Lots a -5 star that's what they're worth. A false advertising business that isn't worth a darn and lost our business for good. Stay away from these morons public

I’ve always loved shopping in store at our nearby Big Lots because aside from the regular products, I’ve found some amazing finds there too. Last month, I bought 2 nightstands from them online for the first time. I was nervous at first but it was actually a great experience! The items arrived on time and well packaged. They were beautiful and exactly as described. Plus I got them for a really good price. I contacted customer support to ask a question and they were very responsive. The representative was knowledgeable and answered my questions patiently. Most times, we only see the negative reviews here but I thought I’d share my great experience as well.

I spent 11 days and countless calls to their customer service because they would ship out 1 of my items and mark everything delivered, they provided fake tracking numbers, supposedly were reshipping items, then the order shows those delivered to the next day or the reshipment was no longer on the order, no manager ever called me back, and in the end I got 4 of the 12 items I ordered. I have NEVER EVER had some many issues with a company. I guess now I know why their stores are closing, I was a long time customer and now will never purchase anything with them again.

I bought over $2000 worth of furniture at the Big Lots in Cheyenne, WY. When I purchased the Broyhill, Wellsley Collection power recliner and sofa set, and the sales rep told me that the chassis/frame had an eight-year manufacturer warranty. It is four and a half years later and the left side of the loveseat is having some issues. I emailed their support and finally got a response from customer care from a person named Terry. I explained the issue and they immediately came back and said, "Your furniture is out of warranty," and would not help me.
I asked them if they could at least provide information for a mobile repair person, because they have staff repair people for field service on warranties, but again, Terry said they would not help that they don't have people to do repairs. I will never purchase furniture from Big Lots again, they do not stand behind their products or provide service when it is needed. I very recently purchased a $700 mattress and went to Furniture Row since Big Lots doesn't care about their customers.

I placed an online order and never did receive the sofa and loveseat that I purchased. I followed up numerous times and was told they would call me with a delivery date. I was never given an explanation of why the call never came. They did reverse the charge on my credit card before I could do a chargeback, so at least they did that right. Don't waste your time here.

I bought a pool on 7/8/2024 and filled it with city water, but it turned out to have a broken pump. I called customer care and wrote emails, but there was only one response - wait for 1-2 business days! As a result, on 7/30, I received a letter from Customer Care that my problem was solved. I'm wondering how, if I don't know anything about it? Terrible service!

I ordered a gazebo from Big Lots. It was over 1,000 after the delivery charge. I received a call on July 2nd to schedule the delivery on a day I would not be home. They wanted to place a 350 pound item by my front door. The person on the phone was rude and unprofessional. Refusing to have the heavy item put in my backyard. The ground is flat and not large. They said we will put it in a room on the first floor of your choice. I refused. Worse customer service. I called customer service to cancel the item. Requesting a refund. 3 emails and another call to customer service and I still have not received confirmation of the refund. It's now July 10th. I went to Lowe's, ordered a gazebo that came to my home with free delivery. They placed it in the backyard for me. Oh it was also 300 less purchasing from Lowe's. I'll never order a big item or expensive item for delivery from Big Lots again.

Back in the 2000's Big Lots was a pretty frugal brand that had lots of cheap off brand items from overseas and other brands you never even heard of. It was a good place for buying affordable things. Now it's turned into a quasi walmart/dollar general. What the hell happened. The main appeal of the store was all the items you couldn't get from traditional stores like all the international snacks and items and close out items at a considerable markdown..
Their in-store and online business model are in desperate need of an update. As a customer I could not successfully cancel an order within 60 minutes of purchasing. I purchased something online (willing to pay the S&H) because it did not appear available at any store nearby and then I found out within 30 minutes they did have it at my local store (although it wasn't showing as inventory). I quickly cancelled or so I thought. Nope, they said it had already processed and I would have to accept the delivery and swallow the 10.00 postage. What a crock. All in all Big Lots prices are no longer competitive with other discount stores which explains why they are struggling to keep afloat and closing stores all over the country. The writing is on the wall and I give them a year before they file for bankruptcy.

I used to not think about Big Lots as a very good store to go to, but after going in there and seeing some of their furniture and good deals they have on things, it has changed my mind. My wife and I bought a fire pit from Big Lots several years ago and it is still working great and we love it. We also got a great deal on it, like half price.

Do not shop with this company. I just opened a kitchen scale that I purchased. The box was sealed with a rounded tape. I just opened it, only to find a used, dirty scale. Please see attached photo. This is unacceptable and disgusting!

I bought a microwave for $59.00 and within a few weeks the inside was peeling. The oven was of poor quality. I will never buy any appliances at this store in the future. This is a huge disappointment!

I bought an outdoor dining table and chairs. It's the Big Lots brand, Broyhill. They own Broyhill. I've had it about 1 & 1/2 years. It's covered in inclement weather, always. The whole table top has begun chipping and peeling. It's completely ruined. I've contacted them and they have completely blown me off. I will admit about 6 months ago I threw the receipt away stupidly thinking there were no working parts so what could go wrong. I will never buy from them again and will spread the word that their products stink and are not worth the money.

I have been trying since gazebos went up on display. They have never been in stock in my area of N.H. Found one in Big Lots Fitchburg Mass. But have to pay tax on. Called customer service and went in circles with them. They said escalated. No calls back.

Big Lots Jersey City, always advertise furniture such as recliners and sofas that they never stock in this stores location, first I wanted to purchase two white recliner that priced at $199, there was no stock..and couldn't buy the floor model which was still new. This is the reason that I opened store credit....Today April 5, again had a beautiful Corey convertible sofa Fulton color black, I wanted to purchase three items priced at $159.. Again no stock at this Jersey City store...Was told Union NJ had three, the manager wouldn't call for me instead she gave me the information, called the Union NJ store, the clerk barely took the description, never came back to the phone instead sent someone else who stated they didn't have this item at all.... What's going on Big Lots? Why place items to show when you never stock items..I'm sorry I applied for a store credit card because it's useless...There's nothing to purchase!!!

The cashier was rude to the people in front of me, and tricked them into buying a "heart". Then 10 minutes later my turn. Instead of saying "I am sorry, but we do not accept manufacturers' coupons," I would been fine with that, but nope, she didn't even say Hi. She said, "I can tell you girls right now, we don't accept THOSE Coupons!" I left my items, and I will not shop with Big Lots!!!! No wonder stores are closing everywhere, you have rotten people like her working, and your prices are through the roof!!!!! There is no value, this was approx. 2:30 pm Today!!!

Worst experienced. Do not use their bank Comenity Bank. Both of them will try to rip you off. Neither one will help to resolve the issue. Bank said to contact the merchant and Big Lots said to contact the bank. After several months they reversed the charges but I still got charged for the delivery which never happened. They even charged me for late fee while it's under investigation. Every time I call Big Lots I get someone from a different country. They all sound scripted. Finally I ended up paying because they will report it against your credit.

Sale prices are never in the system and my Big Lots card always needs a call to someone for the sale to go through. AVOID THIS STORE. It is never an enjoy shopping experience, I’m seriously done with this store.

My huge two L Broyhill couch was delivered by a barely English speaking person on a Pick Up truck. It obviously came damaged. He also cut the plastic & Big Lots is saying returns only in original packaging. It is absolutely literally impossible to see damages in the plastic & cardboard packaging. On top of that there are many legs to attach to couch, some a little bigger than others & who knows where to put them all. I did get instructions on how to stick the felt stickers to the legs though. LOL. I also checked this Broyhill couch for predrilled holes on all 12 corners where they should be & there are NONE! Tried attaching leg with a screwdriver that does fit & barely got it in. So now I need to get a drill just to attach the legs to this just delivered already damaged couch I do not even want anymore. I will never be buying anything again from Big Lots nor will I ever purchase any Broyhill furniture again!!!

I order an entire bedroom furniture and mattress. Was contacted about the delivery of the furniture, but the delivery company said they didn’t have a mattress, just the furniture. Contacted Big Lots several times and nobody can help me find the mattress and they refused to give me a refund because they said it is in transit. However, they had no tracking information and said they are working on it. It’s been two weeks and they are still working on it. I will never buy anything from Big Lots again and will never go to their store again. I highly recommend staying away from this horrible company.

Placed an online order for a reclining loveseat on Nov 3. I realized on Nov 4 that it wouldn't fit in my space because of the extra space needed behind to seat to allow for recline. I called immediately to cancel my order since it still hadn't been fully processed. I was told my order was canceled and was given a case number. A few days later, I got emails asking me when I would like to schedule my delivery. I called the delivery company to tell them that my order had been cancelled. A week later, I still see no return on my credit card and no email confirming my cancellation. I used their website chat function to once again confirm my cancellation. I was told that the cancellation had been "requested" and that I'd be getting an email with confirmation of my cancellation.
Now, it has been two weeks since my original order and 13 days since my cancellation. No sign of any return to my credit card. I called Big Lots once again today, Nov 17, and was told that my order had been cancelled and that the money should have been credited to my account. I was given another case number and told to take up my refund issue with Pay Pal. I was planning to order two sofas from Big Lots as soon as I got my refund for the loveseat. Now I don't want to order anything again.

Purchased first loveseat and 3 year extended warranty 06/21. Returned loveseat to store within 30 days, as the reclining mechanism on one side stopped working. Store replaced with a new loveseat on 07/21. On 11/23 the reclining mechanism on one side stopped working. Contacted Warrantech 5 times to file a warranty claim. Each time the representative was unable to file our claim due to a "Massive issue with their system?". Contacted Big Lots corporate for help and advice. They forwarded a copy of our receipt via email and told use to contact Warrantech. Contacted Warrantech again and the rep apologized as they are still experiencing another Massive issue, with no other explanation. Buyer beware! Do not purchase these products.

Bought a $600 love seat and it has just fallen apart in just 3 years. And now I receive a letter in the mail telling me that they decided to shut down my Big Lots credit card and for me to destroy it. I am now totally done with big lots.

I purchased furniture on 9/25. 4 total pieces, received an email from the delivery company setting up a date to deliver, all good so far ..until I tried to contact Big Lots customer service to see what exactly was being delivered, showed only 2 pieces instead of 4 - billed for 4 ..The person I talked to was very very limited in the English language, I stayed patient and waited for almost 15 minutes for them to come back only to tell me that they were no longer involved in the shipping process and that I would have to contact the delivery company,, huh .. How could you not know anything???? I paid you for the material not the delivery company ..I'm praying this delivery goes ok because I def don't wanna deal with Big Lots c. s. anymore ... Never again, I'll pay the extra for Raymour Flanigan.

Purchased a Halloween inflatable. It worked the day I got it, worked for two days and would not turn on any more. Called Big Lots and was told it is past the 30 day return window and they will not refund my purchase. I purchased it on August 19th and it stopped working today. So I was supposed to know by September 18 (well before the time I would decorate for Halloween) that this product was a piece of garbage and would only last two days. Never shopping at Big Lots again. I shop there quite often. DONE!!

First of all, I loved Big Lots growing up; I'm surprised at how trash it is. Well, to be fair, this may not be everyone's experience. But I for one will never order anything online from Big Lots ever again. Last Thursday, I ordered a mattress for same-day shipping. It was evening when I placed the order, so it was totally understandable that they would push my delivery date to Saturday. Through their third-party vendor, some company called "Pickup," which is also trash, I was given a twelve-hour window in which to wait for my mattress on Saturday from 930AM to 930PM. Pickup did text me to say that they were a little delayed but that delivery would occur before the end of the day.
Of course my mattress never showed up and Pickup texted me saying that they needed me to reschedule, since they were unable to fulfill the delivery. Of course the link they provided me for rescheduling led to an interface that is completely inoperable, i.e. it asks you to click the grid to choose a delivery time and you can click till your fingers fall off, nothing happens. Anyway, so then it's Sunday so I have to wait till Monday to call Pickup to have them reschedule the delivery they missed.
Today is Monday. I spent an hour on the phone with Pickup only to be told that their dispatch team was being unresponsive. An hour after I hung up with them they emailed me telling me that my mattress "would be delivered Wednesday." LOL sure it will. So in the meantime I'm like, "I might as well get a refund at this point." So I call Big Lots and explain my situation. I am then told that it will take two whole days for "someone in escalation" to cancel my order and then five business days after that before I receive my refund. LOL! OK so now at this point I'm like you know what let me just stay in this game and see exactly how long it takes for these people to become a functioning company. So we'll see. Wednesday it is.
I know this sounds like more of a review of Pickup than it is of Big Lots, but honestly, you are the company you keep. Before I hung up with Big Lots, the representative said to me, "Well, since you're not going to cancel after all, call back tomorrow if it is still not there and we can discuss other options." I said, "What are the other options?" And he said, "Cancelling." LOL!

I called the store in St. Cloud. Spoke to Daniel told him I could not proceed with order online so I was stopping to pick up a table to set aside he said, "No problem." Once I got there he’s like, "Oops we sold it" and that was that. And walked away.
