Kawasaki USA recalls ROVs

Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp. U.S.A., of Lincoln, Neb., is recalling about 2,600 Teryx and Teryx4 recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs).

Incorrect joint assembly can cause steering control loss, posing crash and injury hazards.

No incidents or injuries are reported.

This recall involves model year 2019 and 2020 Teryx and Teryx4 recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs), models KRF800FKF/L, KRF800GKF/A/AL/L, KRF800HKF/L, KRT800FKF/L, KRT800GKF/A/AL/L, KRT800HKF/L, KRF800FLF/L, KRF800GLF/L, KRF800HLF/L, KRT800FLF/L, KRT800GLF/A/AL/L and KRT800HLF/L.

The recalled vehicles were sold in various colors including: black, camo, gray, green, orange and white; and in three different styles: Non-EPS, EPS and EPS LE.

The vehicles have either two or four seats, automotive style controls and a rear box.

Kawasaki is printed on the vehicle’s hood and rear box. Teryx or Teryx4 is printed on the right and left front fender.

The ROVs, manufactured in the U.S., were sold at Kawasaki dealers nationwide from March 2019, through August 2019, from between $13,000 and $17,000.

Yamaha recalls Grizzly ATVs and Wolverine X2 ROVs

Yamaha Motor Corporation U.S.A., of Cypress, Calif., is recalling about 1,500 Yamaha Grizzly ATVs and Wolverine X2 Side-by-Side Vehicles (ROV).

Purchasers were given a defective owner’s manual which shows the correct model on the cover, but the contents are for another model.

No incidents or injuries are reported

This recall involves various models of 2019 model Grizzly ATVs and Wolverine X2 Side-by-Side vehicles (ROVs).

The prefix and serial number of the vehicles are stamped into the frame as part of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The VIN is located on the left front frame on ATVs and the left rear frame on side-by-sides (ROVs). The prefix is the 4th through 8th digit of the VIN, and the serial number is the last six digits.

Yamaha and either the Grizzly or Wolverine X2 are printed on the side of the vehicles. The model number is printed on the vehicle’s emission control information label.

The ATVs and ROVs, manufactured in Japan and assembled in the U.S., were sold exclusively at Yamaha ATV and Side-by-Side dealers nationwide.

Grizzly ATVs were sold from June 2018, through May 2019, for between $9,900 and $10,500.

Wolverine X2 Side-by-Sides ROVs were sold from June 2018, through May 2019, for between $12,700 and $15,300.

American Honda recalls ROVs

American Honda Motor Company of Torrance, Calif., is recalling about 82,000 Recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs).

The throttle pedal can stick in the open position, posing crash and injury hazards.

The firm has received 15 reports of the throttle pedal sticking in the open position, including six crashes, resulting in a report of a concussion and a broken nose.

This recall involves all model year 2016 through 2019 Honda Pioneer 1000 side-by-side vehicles sold in various colors including: red, blue, green, gray and yellow.

The name “HONDA” is on the front, sides and the rear of the vehicle. The model name Pioneer 1000 is printed on a label located on both sides of the vehicle, near the rear.

The serial number (VIN #) is stamped in the frame at the left rear, below the tilt-up bed/seat.

Polaris recalls Ranger EV ROVs

Polaris Industries of Medina, Minn., is recalling about 3,900 model year 2015 - 2019 Polaris RGR EV recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs).

An incorrectly wired chassis harness can cause an incorrect throttle control signal to the electric drive motor, which can cause the vehicle to accelerate unexpectedly, posing a crash hazard.

The firm has received eight reports of the recalled ROVs accelerating unexpectedly, due to an incorrectly wired harness. There was one reported incident with two injuries outside the U.S.

This recall involves model year 2015 – 2019 Ranger EV recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs) sold in avalanche gray and pursuit camo, which were produced between April 2014, and January 2019.

The recalled vehicles have “POLARIS” printed on the front grille and beneath the doors; and “RANGER” printed on the rear fenders.

The vehicle identification number (VIN) and model number can be found on a label affixed to the vehicle frame in the left front wheel well.

The ROVs, manufactured in the U.S. and Mexico, were sold at Polaris dealers nationwide from February 2014, through January 2019, for about $11,900.

Polaris recalls RZR ROVs

Polaris Industries of Medina, Minn., is recalling model year 2019 Polaris RZR XP 4 Turbo S recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs).

The brakes can fail, posing crash and injury hazards.

The firm has received 11 reports of brake failures, resulting in one crash and one rollover incident. No injuries have been reported.

This recall involves model year 2019 RZR XP Turbo S recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs), with model numbers Z19VPL92AK, Z19VPL92AR, Z19VPL92BK, Z19VPL92BR.

The vehicles were sold in blue and red and have “POLARIS” stamped on the front grill, along the bottom edge of the passenger compartment and on the rear light assembly;

“TURBO S” is stamped on the front fenders and “POLARIS RZR” on the rear fenders.

The vehicle identification number (VIN) and model number can be found on a label affixed to the vehicle frame in the left front wheel well.

The ROVs, manufactured in Mexico, were sold exclusively at

Arctic Cat of Thief River Falls, Minn., is recalling about 1,700 Havoc recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs).

The upper front suspension arms can fail, posing a crash hazard.

The firm has received six reports of front suspension arm failures. No crashes or injuries have been reported.

This recall involves all model year 2018 and 2019 Textron Havoc recreational off-highway vehicles manufactured by Arctic Cat.

The two-seat vehicles come in four color combinations: charcoal metallic/bronze, green/black, red/black or white/black.

The vehicles have Textron Off Road printed on each side of the hood and Havoc on each side of the rear cargo box.

The ROVs, manufactured in the U.S., were sold at Textron Off Road and Arctic Cat dealers nationwide from January 2018, through April 2019, for between $13,800 and $17,000.

Kawasaki USA recalls utility vehicles

Kawasaki Motors of Foothill Ranch, Calif., is recalling about 2,600 Kawasaki Mule Pro-MX off-highway utility vehicles.

The vehicle’s oil cooler hoses can separate and the fuel tank cap gasket can crack allowing fuel to leak, posing a fire hazard.

The company has received seven reports of vehicles catching on fire and being damaged. No injuries have been reported.

This recall involves 2019 Mule Pro MX utility vehicles, models 700 EPS, 700 EPS LE and 700 Camo EPS.

The four-wheel, off-highway utility vehicles were sold in camo, green, red and white. They have side by side seating for two people and automotive style controls. Mule Pro MX is printed on the right and left front fender. Kawasaki is printed on the cargo box.

The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is located on the steel frame between the right, front lower A-arm mounts.

Arctic Cat of Thief River Falls, Minn., is recalling about 770 Stampede and Rustler off-highway utility vehicles (ROV’s) sold in the U.S. and Canada.

The lower front suspension arm can fail, posing a crash hazard.

The firm has received four reports of front suspension arm failures. No injuries or crashes are reported.

This recall involves all model year 2018 Stampede and Rustler model side by side Arctic Cat off-highway vehicles with VIN number 9003240 through 9004062.

The recalled vehicles were sold in multiple colors, have four wheels and side-by-side seating for two or four people.

The Stampede models have Textron Off Road on each side of the hood area and Stampede on each side of the box. The Rustler models have Rustler 850 on each side of the hood area and 4X4 on each side of the box.

The VIN number is located under the front hood on all models.

The ROVs, manufactured in the U.S., were sold at Textron Off Road and Arctic Cat dealers nationwide from September 2017, through December 2018, for between $13,800 and $16,000.
