Last month, I had a fantastic experience moving from Illinois to Arizona with National Relo Movers. My representative, Angie, was incredibly helpful and made the entire process seamless. She was always available to answer my questions and provided clear communication from the initial quote to the final delivery.

The moving crew was exceptional. They arrived on time and were both professional and efficient. They handled all of my belongings with great care, meticulously wrapping and securing everything for the long journey. Everything arrived in perfect condition, which is a huge relief for a cross-country move. The crew was also friendly and respectful, making a stressful day much more manageable. I highly recommend National Relo Movers, especially if you have the pleasure of working with Angie

DO NOT SIGN UP TO WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! They do not do the work themselves, but contract with others to actually do the packing, loading, moving, and unloading. Their initial estimate was really low, so that interested us. In actuality, they never did a personal or video estimate of our belongings prior to taking a $4000+ non-refundable deposit. The final cost was 2 1/2 x their initial estimate. ($38,000+) We were inexperienced and definitely should have chosen a more reputable moving company for that same price.

The company they contracted with to do our actual move, NEW STATE TRANSPORT, was frustratingly inept. The packers/loaders arrived with a truck half the size needed. The boxes of our belongings were not labeled by room. Contents were seemingly randomly dumped into boxes. Wardrobe boxes filled with clothing, pictures, bins, bathroom items dumped on top of each other. Lamps were unwrapped broken and bent. Picture frames unwrapped and broken. File folders upside down. Support brackets from file drawers and shelf brackets missing. Multiple cords separated from their equipment and are yet to be found after six weeks of unpacking. Several items have not been found, but because box/item numbers were illegible on my page of the NCR bill of lading, there was no way to identify what was unloaded and what number box is still missing.

We were advised to take a photo of broken items to file a damage claim later. When I've tried to file the damage claim, they only accept items that have TWO photos showing the damage. The leader of the unloading crew, Alex, was competent but of brusque demeanor. They were disinclined to finish the job, just putting furniture/boxes in the garage or on the porch. When directed where to take the items, there was grumbling. My only complement is that the initial packing/loading crew worked extremely hard and their leader, Emir, was pleasant and helpful.

We have had a lot of trouble with this company; they were not on time to pick up and deliver, and many items were damaged. It took a long time to load the trucks due to a lack of assistance. We will not recommend them to anybody. Also, really expensive.

Long story short - don't trust National Relomovers. They lied to us, misrepresented their business and were incredibly rude. Initially, I talked with Brendan. My daughter was moving from Michigan to Georgia. I was quoted a "discounted price" of $1599 due to a cancellation and I was also told that there would be no extra charges for load size etc. Brendan was really pushing the "deal" telling me that they really needed to fill the spot so they would have business on that weekend. I specifically asked him if he was a broker or a moving company. He said they were NOT a broker. Pick-up date was set as was drop off date - June 11 and 14 respectively.

My daughter talked with Brendan and so did her boyfriend's father, Jay, and we were all told the same thing. Contract was sent stating the same. Jay paid half of the moving fee on his credit card. The truck showed up on June 11. It was a Ryder rental truck with a poster board taped to the doors that had a business name and info printed on it. It was Best Quality Movers. So Relomovers are in fact a broker. They loaded their stuff and left. My daughter left for Georgia on June 13 and on the way there, she received a call from the movers and they told her the ETA was 10-14 days. She tried to tell them what our agreement was and they said that they would call her back in 20 minutes. After 4 hours, they had not. And so it began.

I tried calling the business, multiple numbers and got messages like "the cellular customer your are trying to reach..." and press this and press that to no avail. I could not get a hold of anyone. My daughter had an AirTag with her stuff in the truck and she told me that the truck was in Chicago. I was at work so it was difficult to make calls but on my way home, I finally got a hold of a customer service person. I inquired and was told that the ETA was 10-14 days. I told him that this was unacceptable as we were told something different and both my daughter and her boyfriend began jobs on that Monday and they needed their bed and clothes, etc. The rep on the line just kept repeating the ETA and eventually told me that an email was sent indicating the ETA.

I checked my email and did receive an email on the 11th at 6:25 pm after the truck had picked up their stuff. It was not a specific email for their trip, rather a flyer-like email that listed ETAs for various moving situations. This info would have been nice to have from the start, but we were lied to. I was very frustrated with them as they did not offer any valid explanation and dismissed the fact that we were lied to in a very cavalier manner. I advised them that I would be writing reviews and notifying the BBB of their poor business practices. To that, the rep suddenly said that he would call me back with a more specific ETA. He called back and immediately told me that they refunded the payment Jay made and he demanded that I send a wire transfer or certified check to them asap.

I was dumbfounded and asked him why in the world would he refund a payment only to ask for it again in another form. And why a wire transfer or certified check. That seemed a bit suspicious. He repeated his demand for a wire transfer or certified check, never gave an amount nor explained. He just demanded this of me and then said "Bye" in very sassy manner (for lack of better descriptive work) and hung up on me.

Ultimately, after many phone calls and talking in circles to the rep, the rep agreed to recharge Jay's credit card and told us that the ETA is still 10-14 days and that it will cost extra because the kids' belongings took up a little extra space than expected. We advised him of Brendan's assurance that we would not have to pay extra and the rep dismissed us and told us that they would expect cash at drop off for the balance. Our kids would not have that kind of cash. The truck showed up on the 6/21. The kids had to purchase air mattresses and pillows and some pots and pans, etc to get by before their stuff arrived. Movers accepted CC for balance. Not sure why all the chest pounding about cash & wire transfers.

If I could negative stars I would. They came, saw everything that we wanted moved before the moving day, gave a quote and promised a morning window. The movers didn’t show up until late afternoon, and doubled the price on the spot. Customer service threatened to withhold the deposit and leave us in a lurch, with no other options. We’re also promised their employees were the movers (they were a third party), and the truck would be going to California, when come to find out it was all going to be unloaded at a warehouse and then shipped in a different container. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS PEOPLE OR THEIR SALESMAN BRENDAN!!

Warning: Misleading Business Practices – Do Not Use This Company. This company falsely advertises itself as a family-owned, veteran-operated moving company and claims not to be a broker. These claims are completely misleading. In reality, they are brokers who subcontract your move to third parties and are not the ones who will handle your belongings. The movers who arrived were not professionals. They showed up in a rented U-Haul truck, not a company-branded moving vehicle, and were accompanied by individuals who appeared untrained and unprofessional. Some of them had poor hygiene and handled our belongings carelessly, throwing items into the truck without regard for damage.

This company does not support you from start to finish as promised. Instead, they disappear once they’ve collected your payment. They overcharge, mislead, and in some cases, hold your belongings hostage to demand more money. Avoid this company at all costs. Their practices are deceptive and predatory. Protect yourself and your property— Choose a reputable, transparent moving service.
