This company is a complete scam. We pay for 5 gig of Internet. We used the Internet maybe for 10 mins at our shop to order parts from a local parts store and the Internet quit working. Called and they claim we've already used all of our data. Had to pay $60 again to turn it back on. They said even if we don't use the Internet "you're using it up." We left the computers off the next day, no one was connected. Used the Internet again for maybe 10 mins to look up parts for customers vehicle and now it's already quit working. They want us to pay another $60 claiming we used up our monthly allowance. So basically we're paying $60 for every 10 mins of basic Internet browsing. This place is a major scam and we've had issues with them from day 1. I only pay $52 a month at home through AT&T unlimited use and use it like crazy. Netzero they want us to pay $60 for using the computer for 10 mins.

I signed up for a one year contract for about 15 dollars per month, and no one told me the fees would go up to 28 dollars after 6 months. I believe this company is a scam outfit, all consumers be careful.

I don't know much about the internet, but I decided to use it to look for things that I am interested in. I won't be spending much time on there, so I chose netzero as my internet service, especially since I could use it away from home. I ordered their service and waited and waited. I called a few times, only to get the reply that it would be there anytime and how to track it online. Well, I have no online, so how can I check it? I did go to a friend's house and she tried to find the info out online, to no avail. I called and as usual, was put on hold and given the option to be called back in 30 minutes or so.
What is this, the 19th century? Neither my friend or I had the time to wait, so I decided to give netzero until Monday, and then I would cancel. No netzero, so I called, finally got through, got offered the moon and told them I want my money back. Finally the CSR got with the program, and authorized the refund. If I ran an internet company, I would bend over backward to get that modem and disk to me, not give excuses every time I call. I wouldn't have 400+ negative reviews. Please, if you haven't yet gotten their service, don't. I believe that they will be going bankrupt soon with their product and customer service.

I recently received the "upgraded" hot spot from NetZero. Since then, I have had no phone service since my phone goes through my internet service. I have spent so much time on my computer going back and forth with NetZero that I've had to buy more service. NetZero claims that Basic Talk is no longer supported by them and I needed to contact Basic Talk to find what to do to connect through NetZero. Basic Talk, says that NetZero has to disable the firewall they've installed in the hot spot. I have had to reboot my PC many times just to log onto Facebook or restart because my computer locks up. I can't access my email, which I told them, but they insist they have responded to my requests by email. I'll be returning and canceling as soon as I get another internet service.

I order an internet access device (hot-spot) in Sep. 8, 2015 with 2 GB data service plan - Mobile Broadband Plus. Got the device 3 days later (Sep.11) that work fine. After 1 1/2 days (Sep. 13), 2 GB data gone, service had been stopped. Without any internet access, I had to top up another 2 GB data that had been cost $29.95. Reconnection took forever. 15 minutes later, service had not back on. Now at 12:30 AM, I try to call their customer service on the phone twice, got disconnected twice. I had find out later that customer service stop serving after 2 AM EST.
Now, I try to upgrade my plan ($15). It had not been working. Then I try to upgrade one more time ($15). Still, nothing would go on with the internet access. In next morning, I called customer service. Finding out NetZero customer service is in INDIA, not Indiana, U.S.A. We had a hard to understand each other, so I hanged up the phone. Then go to email with my phone, and finding out the sale rep. with ordering got my own email address wrong. Everything is had been fine, after 24 hrs. It had cost me over $190 for two weeks of service. NetZero had not done anything to satisfied their customer or care. All they want is MONEY. DO NOT DOING ANY BUSINESS WITH NETZERO AT ANY COST.

I canceled my service with Netzero. They charged me two extra months of service and for the free device and they refuses to refund my money saying there is no record of my cancellation of services. The device did not work well. It was bad service all along. I wish I would have read these reviews before doing business with this rip off company. Wish they had a option for zero stars.

The Netzero device arrived on Thursday. I hooked everything up Friday evening. My nephew was playing Nick Jr. online on Saturday & I think by evening around 7ish that same Saturday. It stopped working and said a screen came up saying that I had to pay them $15.00 more dollars to continue. Mind you I just gave them $91.00 and some change to get the internet & told my bill wouldn't be due till the 3rd of the following month. This is a big gap. I ordered the most expensive package because I knew I use the internet a lot. I don't see how they possibly stay in business. I hope someone reads my review before even dealing with them. Now I have returned the device which was a chore in itself & now they told me this morning they will deposit my 64.98 back to my credit card in 1-3 business day.
They understand English when it's time to take your money but trying to return anything or complain they don't understand you all of a sudden. Also they will keep trying to hang up on you like it's an accident and it's not. I was determined to get my money back so I will let everyone know how if I get it or not. NEVER GET NETZERO. THEY SUCKKK... RIP OFF SCAM. I don't have my order number but I do have my customer service number.

Only to be sent an email that shows a purchase for a new modem $129.00, total charges of $136.00. I asked to speak with a supervisor about their fraudulent billing practices, TO NO AVAIL. I threatened to call my local news station to make the public aware of their unlawful practices and lo and behold an email was sent refunding the stolen moneys. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY.

I called to cancel service with Netzero and request an address to send the product to them. They wanted to charge me an early termination fee for a product that did not work. I called my bank to stop any re-occuring debit from this company, but they took the money anyway. I called Netzero again, asking for an address to send their faulty product back and customer care transferred me to another number which I could not get thru. Very rude, it's like they hold you hostage and threaten to do what they're gonna do regardless how you feel. You're at their mercy over the phone.

Netzero 3g stick sucks - Awful customer service. The device I ordered worked 2 days and then froze my laptop. I called customer service technical support and still no luck. So I returned the 51 dollar stick. Had to pay for return shipping because they were going to mail me a label! I couldn't get my email because I had no internet. When I signed up I was supposed to get a "free" month. They charged my 20 dollars. I did get that money back, but out of the 51 dollar stick charge, I only got back 24! I had to pay a connection fee AND SHIPPING for something that didn't work. I hope at least 1 person reads these comments and doesn't sign up for the service.

I thought I would save money so I signed up for NetZero so I wasn't locked into a contract with Verizon or Comcast. I used their device for 3 days. Only used 16% of my data. They will not give me a partial refund of the unused data or let me return the equipment for a credit there either. When I cancelled it took me about 10 minutes for their billing department to spell my name. Not an unusual name. Then she kept asking for my name over and over again asking how to spell it. She could not get it right. I don't know why that has to be so difficult but it is nothing compared to not being refunded for only 3 days of very unsatisfying use with a ripoff company. I'd be better off with Verizon after all of their hidden charges.

I thought NetFlix was the answer to my WiFi problem. Small, convenient, portable. Perfect, right? Not by a long shot. When I signed up they asked my need of WiFi. I told them I really didn't understand the whole MB but what I want to do is stream Netflix. I was told that 2,000 MB would be more than sufficient and if not I could upgrade to 4,000 MB over the phone. I got the device yesterday and streamed away. FOUR HOURS LATER I was out of data FOR THE MONTH!!! $52.90 provides 4,000 but you only get 8 hours of data.
What person in all the US only uses 8 hours of data for a whole month? The highest is $82.00 for 6,000 MB and only lasts 12 hours. What a scam!! My fault for not understanding the data crap, but isn't it their responsibility to tell me that? Had I known I would of NEVER ordered from them. They refused a refund but hopefully I will be reimbursed for the device when I send it back. All in all, a very unpleasant and expensive lesson. P.S. Pleasant, mannered robot reps but they don't tell you the whole truth AND very hard to understand them with their accents.

I called Netzero and signed up for their $19.95 service. Three days later I received the device. Following the directions I expected to be connected to the internet. Instead I have gone through 3 weeks of hell, speaking almost every day to someone who wanted me to take my device (a desktop computer) 2 of 3 miles away from where I live to see if it might work there. After 3 weeks, they decided it may be the device they sent so they sent another device. After a day and a half I called the tech people again. They told me they have to enable the device and to try again in an hour, which I did.
The device did not work again. I then called to cancel the service I did not receive only to find out I can get the $19.95 plus tax back but not the activation fee of $27.00. If I would upgrade to the $120.00 plan they would assure a plan that works. I believe this a bait and switch scheme. I must send back their equipment within 30 days. All I have to do is go online and download a label. Really, go online??? If I could go online I would be a happy camper. I am now on the phone (45 mins plus) trying to get them to send a return label so I can send their crap back to them so they can send it to the next victim. Do yourself a favor and pay the higher prices of a reputable company.

The service supposed to be 30 days but only last two weeks. When you download it takes up all day before you download and when you pay your bill you are paying twice the amount you suppose to pay when your service is disconnected. When you have data left over and not using it they still disconnect the service. When time for your payment which is due on your payday and have data left they still turn service off knowing you fixing to pay them. It's really a total rip off just to get customers to purchase their services. It's really not high speed platinum. It's slow speed platinum. When you open any website it takes forever to open and it's a shame that they are such rip offs. You really can't do nothing and if it WiFi why do you have data? The service is just lousy.

I placed an order for Netzero with the intent of finding the least expensive way to connect to the internet. I received their 4G Stick on Friday, July 3, 2015. I attempted numerous times to access the internet, access my Netzero email and web page, and the result was that most of the usage was deducted and left very little access time for the rest of the month. The only place I was able to access the site is at work and I do not need my laptop at my office. I was then informed by Netzero that I needed to go outside to be able to use their service to connect to the internet.
I called this morning, Monday, July 6, 2015 and attempted to cancel the service. The rep wanted me to keep the Norton protection that I never got and then had the nerve to ask me to use them in the future. She also informed me she would send the cancellation number to the Netzero email that I had called to cancel. I did not trust them and had seen numerous complaints all over the internet so I called my bank and put stop payments on the two withdrawals. However, I am probably too late. My next step is to withdraw all funds from my account and terminate the debit card and have a new one with a new number issued. Thus, stopping them from further access. This experience has been a nightmare and I want to do whatever I can to go after them.

Top Ten Reasons Netzero Is The Worst Company I've Ever Used:
1. Netzero's internet service rarely works. I am a customer and the service is so bad, I started keeping a journal of disconnections and service failures. But whenever I would alert Netzero and ask them questions, they never answered them. Instead, they would send a template email stating their wireless internet service cannot go through walls, glass, etc. Can you believe that?! The purpose of wireless internet service is to go through walls, glass, etc.! Other companies have been doing it for years and continue to do it without any problems. Cellphone companies do it too. But Netzero admits that they cant do it. Yet this doesnt stop them from selling the service, even though they cant provide it.
2. On the very rare occasions that Netzero's service works for a few minutes, they limit the amount of data you can use, which is ridiculous because the other companies provide unlimited data in the same price range.
3. Netzero has a Data Usage Report that is supposed to help you keep track of your data so that you dont run out. But the report doesnt work. It will deceive you by telling you that you have plenty of data left when actually, you dont. Then you will run out and Netzero will try to get you to buy more.
4. It appears that Netzero takes data out of your account even when your internet modem isnt plugged into the wall and your computer is turned off. One night I checked my report and I had used 20% of my data. I unplugged the modem, turned off my computer and went to bed. The next day I turned my computer on and connected the modem and the report stated I had used 28%. So it seems that overnight, Netzero took away 8% of my data away while my modem was unplugged and my computer was off. I notice that this happens often; 5. Another method they use to take data away from you is when you are in the middle of a download and the internet connection fails and you have to download the file all over again, which uses twice the amount of data.
6. Another disturbing reality is when Netzero won't allow you to check your Usage Data Report at all. There have been so many times I tried to check mine, only to receive this message: There was an error processing your request. Please try again in a few moments. So I tried again. It still didnt work. So I tried again a few moments later. It still didnt work. So I spent the entire day trying. It never worked. By preventing their customers from being able to keep track of their data usage, the customer is more likely to run out of data. Then Netzero will ask them to buy more; 7. Apparently, Netzero's internet service doesnt work when it rains. Yes, you read that correctly. When it rains, I cant get on the internet.
8. Netzeros internet service is so bad that when you call their customer service line, you immediately get a recording that states: "We are currently experiencing heavy call volume. You may wish to call back during non peak hours of 9 pm - 2 am". Can you believe this?! This demonstrates 2 things: 1. Netzeros internet service is so bad that their customer service line experiences high call volume from all of their customers who cant get on the internet throughout the day. 2. Netzero expects their customers to go without internet service all day until 9 pm, then call for assistance.
9. Netzeros service didn't work for an entire weekend, so they promised to give me a credit, but never gave it to me. I was without service for a whole weekend because it was raining. When I finally reached a Netzero customer service rep, they made me troubleshoot for over an hour and 10 minutes, then finally admitted that their service doesnt work when it rains. They they promised to give me a credit, which they never did. When I inquired about it a week later, they said they werent going to give me anything. So be warned: Netzero lies.
10. Netzero refuses to hire American customer service reps. When you call, you wait on hold forever. Then you are forced to speak with someone in the Philippines, which is a complete nightmare of miscommunication and frustration. Personally, I don't think Netzero should be allowed to do business in America if they aren't going to hire American customer service reps. So many Americans need jobs. In summary: Netzero is the worst company I've ever used. I'm looking at several other companies that are more reliable, less expensive, and have American customer service reps.

So I’m thinking I don't have service. NetZero went unauthorized and was charging me 42.58 from Nov. 2014 to April 2015. They never sent a email stating they were taking my money… or call me to see was still interested in getting service.
My bank kept having negative account balances and something made me go to the bank… and they highlighted NetZero as for taking 42.58 for the month April as well the past month. I called them to let them know. The only thing they claim is that it automatic bank draft… after… so they waited for money to be available and to take it behind my back. That is against the law. NetZero is only refunding me for April 2015. What kind of ** is this!!! I’m very pissed. Net Zero, you are criminals. People cancel your debit card asap! Them devils.

Just a warning to others about NetZero mobile broadband service. They're advertising like crazy on TV. I signed up, purchased the device, and set it up 2 nights ago. I connected my laptop and just tested it out - much faster than the free internet at the hotel I'm staying at right now. BUT... within a couple hours, I got an email from NetZero that I had used up my entire gigabyte of data for the month. WTF? I didn't DO anything!! I had read this same complain online from a few people who said that all their data was used just by setting up their device, but figured this was an old issue that was fixed. I should have heeded the warning. So yesterday I called to try to get my data reset and the situation corrected.
I called twice. Each time the same thing - a lecture on how data is used by someone with a difficult to understand accent. I understand data and the internet. Duh. I don't need the explanations, I did nothing to use even a small fraction of the data plan! They both read the same script that "I'm sorry. You can purchase more data or upgrade." No matter what I said, the same stock answers. I asked each time to speak with a supervisor. I was told there wasn't one available. I asked again, and was put on hold.. forever. I should have been worried when I called their number and realized there was NO OPTION FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE LISTED ON THEIR PHONE MENU! Yikes!
So I tried an email explaining my problem. I got the same response via email. A lecture about data usage, how it adds up, and the suggestion that I purchase more data or upgrade my plan. Let's see, if I used a gigabyte in 2 hours just by being connected, how many gigs would I need to purchase to last a month if I actually USED the service? The number would be staggering, not to mention the cost! Anyway... I told NetZero I was going to post warnings on social media, so here I am, warning others. I'm sure others have had positive experiences, but I also know that I'm not the only one with this particular complaint.
Oh, their current offer on television for 30 free days? It doesn't exist once you get to their site either. So, if you have NetZero and have been happy, kudos to you! If you're thinking about getting NetZero, you might want to think twice!! I was suckered in only because I travel a fair amount and some of the better hotels charge $12.95 a DAY for internet access. This should have been cheaper. Ha ha.

My wife and I ordered the service via phone and was greeted by a poorly English speaking person. She was very hard to understand and was very quick to sell the product. She failed to explain what it was that we were purchasing, did not say anything about the amount of service we were getting, just wanted to get the sale and finish up. We agreed to the purchase with the thought that we would get unlimited usage. As I had stated she did not offer any packages just the service.
We were billed for a whole month before we even got the modem for the service. I could understand that but when we finally got the modem we used it for less than a day and a half and got a message saying we had to buy more minutes. We received very poor customer service on both the beginning of the service and end service. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT WITHOUT MAKING SURE you understand what you are getting. I feel the service was misrepresented to us and would not suggest this product to ANYONE!

Awful from start to finish. First, they lie to you. Tell you amount of data you need... Only $45 per month. Lie Number One: My bill is $52 a month. Lie Number Two: Telling me they would take out the amount on the 25th of each month. Instead, they took out two at one time. I didn't know until I looked at my account. The service didn't work for the first 1 and a half months. Called and spoke with them about 4 times, every time 45 minute convo trying to trouble shoot. When it finally worked I asked for a pro rated credit. They said they would give me more data instead. Whatever. Always slow.. often doesn't connect. Always have to fiddle with the modem.
Today I can't get on. Instead I get connected straight to their site saying I need to buy more data. Even though I don't do ANYTHING except surf and eBay and online shop. They were the ones who told me that this amount of data was enough... asked me if I gamed or streamed movies. Nope. They seriously ding you every second. Asked me if I wanted to upgrade instead of buy more data... Oh? You mean pay more money when all I do is surf, and your service is 50/50 on reliability?? No thanks. The ONLY reason why I would suggest this is because it's very super fast with a good connection on the fastest setting. With a poor connection, it's slow as snails. That said, when you change to the slow speed, it's much slower & does save a lot of data.
They CHARGE it seems out the wazoo for data. You do not want this system if you intend to use for extended periods of time OR use a lot of data like video's downloads pictures etc. 50 bucks gets you 8 GB total of data. SOMEHOW I think they charge you both directions because other services for 50 bucks was slower than their slowest connection but unlimited namely CLEAR, I changed from them because after the owner sold (whom I personally spoke with to resolve issues) their service went to the trash... but at least with them I could watch movies and surf all day on the weekends. My normal usage patterns is on the web all day long - I used up my first 8 GB in a couple days ALL the WHILE trying to be conservative.
Another issue is that it does not want to speed back up to warp speed, and stuck on lightning speed. I changed the settings because it seems that the fastest for same page views sucks much more data - I ASK WHY... was wanting to change at whim back and forth depending on the business urgency I needed the speed... it won't for some reason allow me to reset to original setting at 10mb speeds. When I did the online tests, they were at or above their advertised data rates.
I've had very few encounters with the people on phone. They spent a lot of time and answered a lot of questions and resolved issues, although a few dozen times I've had to explain to them what I was asking because not all their english is up to speed.

I was offered free Tech support not once but twice and free High speed service for a month. I declined the second offer for free tech support, why would I want it when they couldn't correct the issue the first time.
My account was cancelled on 1/21/2015 and my free service was to be until 2/21/2015. I told the person I spoke to an Administrative Supervisor who offered me that service. He then placed me on hold, came back and of course still nothing. I have no reason to lie, but when you're paying for a product you expect to be provided with the service you paid for, and not a constant run around as to what the issues might be. Am going through a now lengthy divorce. In its initial stages felt an internet service without a two-year commitment could work as when the final decree is handed down I would then move to a new location. Decided on Net Zero as in the past they had a good thing in the early 2000's with their cd-rom/sign-up monthly commitment. As if it were a pay-as-you-go system. And for a dial-up at the time, it actually worked. So this time fourteen years later, why not?
Well, let me tell you why I would NEVER do this again. First off, Net Zero is out-sourced in the Philippines. Probably with conectys.com as they are cheap. Whatever the group, they give themselves American-sounding names like Jared and Kathy instead of Severo or Rosario, actual local first names. Quick to offer an apology because, really, what am I going to do, fly over there and give them a piece of my mind? From there, I have been able to learn the most efficient trouble-shooting protocol which is not listed on the tip sheet included with their Hot Spot device. Running on a cell signal within close range, it should work as I live in a densely-populated area. It tries at best. And so far in five months I have had to exchange this device three times. When asking for a return shipping label the CSR's freeze up over the phone. Quickly, English becomes a foreign language to them. One female rep just kept moaning in confusion over the concept and tried to respond as if she knew what the request was for, missing the mark over and over. Embarrassing. Even more embarrassing is that these CSR's are trained with good phone manners. They really are trying to help and no doubt are aware of Net Zero's fall-short-of-the-mark determination.
Frustrating at best. Well, thanks to many, many phone calls to Manila I can troubleshoot on my own very quickly however it takes up a more than a fair amount of my time along with a new sense of patience I have developed only leading me to think I could and SHOULD move to a high-speed contract somewhere else. And promptly. If I had known the marital split would head into overtime ahead of time I wouldn't have the need to write this.
Have lost count of the daily and sometimes HOURLY moments Net Zero arbitrarily bumps me off, leaving me stranded and going through the dreaded routine of reconnecting. This ascribes deeply to Albert Einstein's definition of insane. Look it up and you won't doubt it a second. My cell phone buries Net Zero's performance leaving the shovel in the dirt. With Net Zero you get just that ... ZERO... ZILCH... NADA... NOTHING.

We cancelled service in July 2014 after finding a much better provider. I should have been more diligent about checking our online banking statements but when we weren't charged in August, I assumed everything was taken care of. While checking the statement this morning, the first item pending was Net Zero. So I checked the previous months and they have been taking out monthly payments for the past four months! When I called to complain and ask to be reimbursed, I was told that I had agreed to continue to use them as a "back-up". This is entirely false. Why would we want to use Net Zero as a back up when their service was so painfully slow and we changed to high speed link. We were elated to finally be rid of their service, then find out we were still being charged. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

I called to order based on the commercial that advertised the hot spot. They convinced me that I needed the USB device instead. I was charged for the device, although it failed to operate. It is supposed to be plug and play. Upon calling tech support, they said that they would have to send a new device as the first could have been faulty. The new device failed to work as well. In the meantime, I am still being charged for the device as well as three monthly service charges. They assured me that refunds or credits would occur after services were up and running. When customer support was unable to help me get the second device to operate after having to call five times in one day and take three hours to attempt to troubleshoot, the rep. told me that they had done all that was possible to troubleshoot. I reasoned that It may be due to my hardware. So, it was best for me to just send all back and get refunded for unused service as well as the two devices. Their opinion was that I should keep attempting with more devices. Now, I know why.
When I called the cancellation department, she informed me that I can only be credited for the devices which I have to pay postage to return. She said that they bill for availability of service and not usage. To which I replied, if I am unable to access the service, I do not have availability. So, be forewarned. They try to convince you to keep troubleshooting so that they can continue to charge you a monthly service fee even if you have not established service. This is a supreme lack of integrity! I do not even know if this is legal.

I am being acutely fair in this review even though I cannot believe the unfair, inhuman, degrading, repugnant and reprehensible service that I have endured at the hands of Net Zero Service. I am now the proud owner of a Clear Clear Stick after returning my Net Zero stick after I tried to get that stick to work for over 6 months. Please bear in mind that I had to cancel a credit card in order to have Net Zero stop billing me even though I have never received competent service of any kind at any time. As of this morning I have my net Zero stick re-activated and it promptly died on me inside of 10 minutes.
I am now in the process of trying to have my money refunded again, canceling my service, again and am on the verge of filing a law suit if in fact the rest of the aggrieved out there wish to do so. I have been practicing law for over 25 years and I have never met a firm that has such incompetent help that they are borderline criminal if not dyed in the wool (pun intended) thieving sheep-herders from some long lost province of Tibet (or the vicinity). You are lucky if you speak to anyone that can mouth the English language without ending a sentence with sahib or sorry, both of which are platitudes as they are only after your kopecks, rials, or dinar.
If I think it would do any good I would hire a local witch doctor or mystic to place a curse on this company as begging, pleading, persuading or/and any legal ethical tactic falls on deaf ears as long as they have your money. This company will promise you anything and as long as you are willing to wait on hold for endless hours while they tend to their flocks as they sure aren’t interested in solving your problems so I am assuming they are shearing their sheep or swilling their pigs. Unfortunately, I do have a JUNO account that has been nothing but sound and stable for 15 years. I would like to be there when this firm goes out of business however, mediocrity tends to endure ad infinitum. If you are interested in proceeding legally against this firm please feel free to drop me an e-mail at ** and make me aware of your concerns. If they had a conscience they would refund all of our money and the cost of our time dealing with their incompetence, BUT, then they would be out of business, anyway.

I received the device for wifi and had nothing but issues with it from the moment I attempted to use. I called technical support numerous times in a two day span and they insisted I go through their troubleshooting steps over and over again. I requested numerous times from day one to cancel the service and each time they refused unless I go through their troubleshooting steps. I asked to speak to a supervisor on many different phone conversations and twice with the mention and insistence on my part to speak with a supervisor they hung up on me. When I called back they stated it wasn't their policy to hang up on customers so their answer was "we must have had a bad connection." This occurred twice. The connection was wonderful until I mentioned supervisor then there became a bad connection.
After a week of fighting with their wifi service to work I again spent two hours on the phone just to cancel service. Asked for a supervisor and the connection would go bad and be lost. I was told it was not their policy to return money, when you can clearly find a 30 day money back guarantee on their website. I finally after two hours told them I would be contacting the BBB and voila I got a supervisor on the phone and part of my monthly fee back and will get the money back for the device once I return it. They say there is a prepaid shipping label online but all I find when I put in the website they gave me for that is more unhappy customers. How can a business survive when run like this? I guess it survives from customers who don't push for their money back so NetZero is pretty much getting money from no service. Ronald T. Burr needs to look into these policies and try and correct some of the actions. You will not have a business if you consistently have unhappy consumers.

First off, shame on me for not knowing better than to ask whether the internet data was unlimited. I was blown away when I was denied internet access after only having internet service with Netzero for 4 days. When I called to cancel, I was offered a little more data and asked to call in and cancel one day before my billing date. That did not sit right with me. Data was used up the next day. I just got off the phone with the 4th representative tonight (the 1st one spoke too low, the 2nd had a bad attitude, the 3rd acted as if he couldn't hear me, the 4th was tolerable). I asked to receive an email confirming cancellation and I was informed that nothing in the system stated any cancellation. He said it as if that would relieve me. I was mortified. He then says he will check again and magically it appeared in the system this time. I have repeatedly asked for that confirmation via email and I told him that I've read all of the awful reviews online. I want proof my account is canceled. The representative would cut me off, "Yes ma'am, you will get it"..
I then requested a refund on the device since it is not compatible with any other carrier/service. I was told that no.. for many ridiculous reasons. I asked to speak to a manager. "We are not going anywhere with this." He asked me to hold. I waited a good 5 minutes and he comes back apologizing that a manager is not available but that the supervisor ok'd the refund. I was given a return address and told to call back in 5-7 business days after sending it back to follow up. I asked for his name, he gave it up but he stated he was not authorized to give me his supervisor's name. I asked whether I would be charged a "restocking fee". He cut me off (again) and said "No, that will be waived." I was only informed about that AFTER I asked. Very fishy. I was given a reference number. Based on all the reviews I've read, I feel like something is definitely up their sleeves. Help!? Suggestions? What would you do or expect?

First off I have had their service for 6 days when I called to order. She said if I pay 19.95 a month I can do all my basic stuff like read emails and read my book. Well after I paid 76 dollars and change she said that was for everything. Come to find out they charged my bank again 2 days later for I guess the monthly service which was 20.62 which I guess the lady lied because that was not all. Then I got this Norton 360 which by time I got done dealing with these people for the pin number Netzero was supposed to give me when I signed up. I kept getting told 24 hours to get my pin which was another lie. It took them 3 days to give to me then when I call to get the pin they want to charge my bank card 1.95 a minute for technical support which, who does that?
Never in my life have I ever heard a business charging for their support to help you with their crappy service. Now it's been 6 days and now they're telling me I have to buy more data. They don't let you get unlimited anything because their so called 19.95 a month is actually only 2 hours you get to go online. So basically I just wasted a hundred dollars on 2 hours of internet which half was trying to get their crappy service to work and the other hour I got to read half a book I have online.
Now I say people should boycott this company until they're out of business. Not only that but call this so called founder of this rip off company and get him to issue all these people he's ripped off full refunds, which they lie to you there because in the beginning when I ordered this stuff the lady said if I am not happy make sure I return it within the 30 days for a full refund. Well guess what? The so called manager they have, that I don't think he even was said they have no such policy at all that when you buy there crap you are stuck with it. Well why would you want it if they're going to keep ripping you off, if you send it back you should get a refund!!!!!! SO PLEASE DO NOT GO THROUGH NETZERO THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. Please just say no and if anyone hears or knows of any class action against this Netzero please post it. I will be more than happy to just get this company to shut down to save the rest of the hard working people not to get ripped off like I did!!!

It is my hope that a class action suit is brought against Netzero. I fully intend to get a full refund, but one should not have to go through so much aggravation to get what is rightfully and legally theirs. Obviously, Netzero will not refund anything without a good fight. I checked their Better Business Bureau rating. They are rated A+. The rating is based solely on their resolution of complaints. They had resolved over 200 complaints. So don't look to the BBB as a source of verifying trustworthiness of a business. DO, by all means, file a complaint with them if you are unable to get unearned charges dropped.
I was unable to get internet service with use of the hotspot. After 5 days of being played (speaking with multiple technicians and repeating the same steps over and over, being transferred to "corporate" and having the person I was transferred to telling me I must have the wrong number, being told that my iPad and computer don't work) I called to get a full refund for the service and device. The person I first spoke with said that my case had been escalated and that their senior technician had tried to contact me. It turned out they had the wrong phone number, or so she said. She transferred me to a senior technician who wasn't a senior technician. He said he had notes from the senior technician.
After trying a few things, at least twice, he put me on hold to talk to the senior technician for more steps. I finally asked to speak directly with the senior technician and was told that the senior technicians don't have phones! He said they only correspond through email. I blew. I yelled that was odd since I had been told they had been trying to contact me. He said that they were unable to resolve my problem at that time, but the senior technician told him what my options are. Either I could return the device and try another one or I could wait a few days while they try to come up with a solution. I asked what else. Since he said those were my only options, I informed him that they were to give me a full refund.
I was transferred. The person I spoke with said she saw I had already tried to cancel service so she was going to transfer me to free tech support. I yelled, "Don't you dare!" so she transferred me to yet another person to handle my cancellation. That one told me that he couldn't give me any refund because they are valid charges. I said they were not and yes he can give me a full refund. Ultimately, I had to resort to threatening to call corporate the next day and to suing the company before they agreed to drop all charges, including shipping. I followed the call with a call to my credit card company to let them know that I was contesting the charges if they weren't in fact dropped.

I followed all the instructions they told me how to make it work and it just don't give me any connections at all. So I called the customer service today to have my service cancelled and to return the device. The customer service said that you cannot return the product. And I was sooo mad that when I check my credit card, they already billed me and took out from my credit card for the first monthly bill. So, I called the customer service again today and asked them why I got billed already and I did not even use the device. Upon speaking with customer service tonight, the lady was rude, disrespectful and still wouldn't let me speak to a supervisor. I asked her, "Why is there such a problem for me to speak to the supervisor?" She said because I don't need to speak with them, that she's handling my case and if I mail the boxes back I will get my $25 back and I'm arguing with her that I did mail - that it's not my fault they're trying to say that they didn't get it. Then I asked her, "Why are you still going to my account trying to take money?" She said, "No, we are not" and I told her I have the email to prove it and she's basically telling me I'm a liar. After numerous attempts and speaking with their customer service department, nothing they said or did resolved any of these issues. Took 10 minutes just to connect to the internet first of all, which was so dreadful. I hated to turn my computer on at all. Once on, the UBstick never worked properly. Flashed and interrupted my work documents every 3-5 min. Lost signals. LOST WORK!.. Saying I wasn't connected to the internet. NO ZERO! Never again... Smart, I used a prepaid card to activate service with a limited amount applied. Not another Dime to your company for horrible, so-called "service"!!!!!

We will have Netzeros Hotspot for a week tomorrow. The first day, it worked great. Then, I decided to check the usage. My son used it for about 15 minutes, and I had used it a little over a half hour. It was already at 27% of our allowed usage!!!!!! And we had used it under an hour!!!! Didn't use it again until Wed. I kept checking the usage about every 15 minutes. Between Wed. and Thurs. we used it over 8 hours and it only went up 10%. How is this possible after we supposedly used 27% in less than an hour? Today, what a headache. We continuously had the solid green light meaning there was no connection. THREE phone calls and it still only works when it randomly wants to. You pay TOO much and get junk. And you get weaseled into a contract after they promote NO contracts. And when you talk to a Tech, it's like pulling teeth to get them to answer. I literately had to repeat myself FIVE times before he would respond. DON'T waste your money, time and patience on this POS!!!!!!!!!

They said "NO CONTRACT. NO COMMITMENT. NO WORRIES". When I went more deep, their advertisement is 75% off on device with 1 Year Contract. Govt. should banned that kind of liars.

They are horrible people, they encourage their employees to lie bait and switch, those junk modems are meant to break just to discourage the new customers into canceling, forfeiting their down payment. Netzero figures they make more profit this way than providing satisfactory long term service... This is my opinion... They treat their honest employees as bad as their customers... Horrible, greedy upper management...

WARNING!!! DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY OR YOU WILL BE SORRY. I installed the modem they sent me and tried to use the internet, but was appalled at how awfully slow and internet was. 3 hours later, they shut off the internet service and sent me an email claiming that I had used up my data and would need to pay and upgrade, or wait until the next billing cycle to start before I could use the internet again. I was told by the rep who signed me up that I would have unlimited internet and data. They refused to give out their address so I could return the modem. In addition, they will not issue a refund!!!!
