My step father died in January 2007. AIG said to fax them copies of my Mothers' and Step Fathers' death certificates and they would send a check in three weeks. Then they said I had to send their form back. Then they said that I had to provide a copy of the living trust. Then they said I had to provide additional documents and their form. Then they said that I had to have the documents and their form notarized. Then they said that there is a new form. Then they said I had to provide original copies of the death certificate. Then they said that I had to get a court order because someone else is contesting the distribution. I have talked to all the beneficiaries of the trust and none of them have contested the trust. It takes them a month and a half to respond with new requirements so it has been a year and they still refuse to send us the $90,000.00 they owe us. One of my brothers and my step sister are disabled and need the money. My step sister will be homeless soon. I am out of work and about to lose my house. My share of the money AIG refuses to pay will pay my bills for six months.

Bank of America is foreclosing on my house on February 21, 2008. I have not been able to contact my step sister and think she is now homeless. AIG has cost me thousands in interest and penalties.

My mother opened a Life Ins policy when my daughter was born. I was there at the time the policy was opened, and my name is listed on the documents stating I have the right to change since I am her Mother. My mother passed 3/11/05. I have filled out pages and pages of paper work to change everything, well, I thought I had.

14 months later I am still getting bills in my mother's name at my address, so they had to have gotten something.

Now they state I don't have an Agent. Well they assigned one to me but he brought the wrong papers. I have called 3 times this week to speak to an office manager and no one will help me. They take my number but that is as far as it goes. What is the problem? If they have they lost my policy I will be glad to show them mine. It is worth $10,000.

I am employed with Wal-Mart and have had coverage with this company for about thirteen years. I updated it and raised the amount on my spouse in 1998 or 1999. He passed away Jan.19, 2003. The claim has been denied because he became ill. The reason is his death was before a two year period after the update. The reason for life insurance is to cover final expenses and to take care of family members that are left behind. This is unfair and should be illegal. Companies like this should have to pay for what they inflict on families who are grieving and struggling financially.

I am disabled and I am having to pay for a funeral bill that should have been covered. The stress of all of this is just about too much for me to deal with. The financial burden as well as the loss of my husband is very hard.
