I wish I could give less than 1 star because they are the absolute worst company I’ve ever dealt with. My trash wasn’t picked up Monday and when I called Tuesday I was told by a supervisor who contacted me that it was an oversight and she assured me someone would pick it up Wednesday. Today is Thursday night and my trash still hasn’t been picked up. When you’re paying a company to provide a service, it shouldn’t be unreasonable to expect the service to be done. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.

Put a bed out, took the mattress, left the box spring so it will just sit on the curb for another week as it gets covered in snow. Completely moronic. Worst garbage company I’ve ever had. One big item a week so two weeks to get rid of my son's bed. But they will leave garbage in the cans and not follow their contract with us.

Requested bulk pick up services for two items to dispose of. Paid deposit fee when initially scheduling this. Brought these items to where I've historically brought them, and were not picked up. I was told I did not bring these to the right spot. Rescheduled pickup, and admittedly missed the second pickup. However, no attempt was made on the Company's side to rescheduled. I have been charged for the service as well as disposal fees. To get the items picked up I would need to be charged again. Absolutely horrendous service.

They run a borderline racketeering business and will be very shady. I reached out after they raised my bill from $35 per month to $45 per month. For reference, that's $420-$540 per year. I also had contacted the only local owned company left for pricing. Republic offered to match my previous billing of $35 per month. Although that would have been fine, the quote I received from the other company was $30 per month or $350 per year. I told Republic their competitor's pricing and they immediately offered me $25 per month. So for the last 2 years I've been getting screwed at $35 per month. I declined their offer and switched to the other company. Under their policy, they charge $100 to pick up THEIR trash cans, because when I told them I will keep the cans for that price they refused and said they own the cans and I would be forced to pay because there was nowhere local I could drop them off at.
Their mistake when they billed me was itemizing the pricing. It was $78 for the can pick up, and then also charged me $30 for an environmental/fuel fee and also tax on top of all of this for a total of $113.72, again, for THEIR cans. I agreed to pay $78 for the cans as fighting this anymore was not worth. Their policy, they charge the environmental/fuel fee on every invoice. I understood that, however, that is for them to recover cost associated with the waste removal. The cans were empty when they picked them up. Also, why am I paying a fuel cost when the $78 should cover your employee wages, fuel, insurance, etc. The consumer does not care if you make any profit on this, and you shouldn't. The taxes on top of this was also a complete scam. If they are paying taxes on top of removing THEIR waste cans, that is their own fault. To make things seem even more shady, I contacted them twice, 1 month apart.
I explained the billing situation on the first call and the lady said she would have to get management involved and either her or the manager will call me back. After 1 month I called back because I hadn't heard anything. They had zero information in there system that I ever called. Once I explained the billing situation, and told her the same thing as the last person, I was willing to pay the "contractually obligated" $78 for the can removal, she immediately approved it. I have never had a worse experience with a trash removal company and would give them an all around 0 stars. I know each location doesn't necessarily have corporate oversight, but for as large of a company as they are, they should be a little more invested in their employees over their profits.

I can’t in good conscience recommend this service to anyone. I was forced into this service after my local town passed ordinance for an exclusive deal, close after RS bought out the locally owned service I used previously. Rates keep going up randomly, service is wildly inconsistent. They refuse to pick up anything that’s not in one of ‘their bins’, consistently just spray trash up and down the street. I have an identical bin that they’ve refused to pick up. Customer service said they’d crush it with the truck if they tried, it’s the same mfg and model other than the color code as they use. My bin is black instead of blue, and they’ve crushed my RS issued blue one anyways, the wheels aren’t falling off, I guess the benefit is it doesn’t trap water.

Skipped pick up of trash due to snow. No call made for delay due to weather. No communication at all. Other trash companies picked up our neighbor's trash same week. Called for pick up this week. Denied. Requested credit. Denied. If other services can get pick up there is no reason this one can’t. They show no mercy if you are a minute late on bill.

If I could give "0" stars, I would! This has been the most difficult company to deal with. We have had a small dumpster for years, a 2 cubic yard to be exact. The bill went up to $328 per month. I have tried to cancel for weeks. You will be on hold for no less than 55 minutes. They always say that someone else needs to call you back, you never speak to the person that can help you. Needless to say, THEY NEVER CALL YOU BACK!! I've tried calling the corporate office and get the same thing. I JUST WANT TO CANCEL THIS OVERPRICED DUMPSTER SERVICE. If I cannot get anyone today, I will contact the local news in Baton Rouge as well as the insurance commissioner. I will contact ANYONE THAT WILL LISTEN!!!!

I have been with Republic for 7 years. They missed multiple pickups due to weather but that certainly can happen. They were just fine as a service. When talking to other neighbors it turns out after all this time my cost compared to other companies was more then double of other carriers. I decided I had had enough after another missed pickup and left for another service.
When leaving they require you the consumer to turn off auto bill or they will continue to bill. Their system can’t apparently stop billing automatically when you cancel. They have the ability to do this but don’t as they put the onus on you the customer. A senior advisor had to do this as the previous rep would not. To add to the misery, if there is a refund that is due, you as the customer MUST call back in. All credits due to the customer are just left on account if you don’t call back in. No exceptions. Despite requesting during the call to send the refund they said they were unable to do this.

I'd give zero stars if I could. They do a price creep with every bill charging more and more for random fees and services. They charge a hefty pickup fee to cancel your service with them. If the winds blows your container over, they will leave it behind. When you go on to request a missed pickup service, they ignore it completely and wait until your next scheduled pickup day. Which means your cans sit out on the street for at least an entire week (biweekly service in my case so it'd sit for two weeks). This often leads to people carelessly throwing loose trash in your bins which wind up needing to be cleaned when they spill coffee or something everywhere in the bin. Wouldn’t be a problem if the sanitation company would do its job in the first place.

Terrible and unreliable trash/recycling pickup for residential customers. If you have a choice in this do not choose them. Horrible. Trash and recycling pile up waiting for them to pick up on schedule. There are instances that hamper service such as inclement weather but this should be pushed back 1-2 days only not an entire week without updates to when the service will become available.

Worst company ever. When I started I had trash and recycling for under $100 and it’s been going up and up ever since. This time they wanted $200. I just canceled. The girl on the phone said they could lower my bill to 120. I said no thank you just for them to raise it again next billing period. NEVER TRUST THEM!

Absolutely terrible service and questionable billing practices. Republic Waste missed BOTH my trash and recycling pickups 4 times in just 6 weeks. When they finally showed up, they charged me a surcharge for having extra bins (which were only full because of THEIR missed pickups!). The surcharge was actually higher than the credit they gave for missing the previous services.
When I questioned where this surcharge policy was documented in their Terms & Conditions, their response was "It's not written anywhere, that's just how we've always done it." Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Save yourself the headache and choose another waste service provider. Their unreliable service combined with arbitrary charges and lack of transparency make them impossible to recommend. AVOID!

We had planned to temporarily stop service, planning to resume in 4-5 months. Their driver had left us an unrequested Republic Services blue bin and no receipt or fee for it. Simply dropped it off. We were due one final paid pickup and used that to return the blue bin we had never requested. Today, our last paid service day, the Republic driver emptied their Republic bin next to our driveway of all the refuse that was in it, took their blue Republic Services can and left. Offensive but more importantly, it reflects the mind-set of Republic Customer Services and their employees. Trash service by a trash company, in more ways than one. Expect nothing less.

Another bad review. Contacted after snow and informed we wouldn't have pickup this week, our can is full and we were told we'd be charged for an additional pickup as if it was our fault. This was the final straw, as service has declined since they bought out our local service. Upon contacting them to cancel I was told my billing cycle would continue for a month even though my bill was due in two days. Was told I would receive a fee for them to come pick up the container even though I was willing to drop it off at the local spot, then was told I would have to wait 4 weeks for them to pick it up. Very rude staff that have no concern for their customers. Overcharge users every chance they get or find any way to squeeze everything they can out of people.

I would give zero stars if possible. I have had bulk yard waste and requested pickup for 8 weeks. The answering staff actually lie about having a manager contact me. They assure me somebody will be out within three days. This hasn’t happened obviously and it continually gets brushed off until I call again and get a totally new person to speak with. I have never written a bad review but want everyone to know this is the worst business I have ever dealt with. Avoid them at all costs. I don’t know how they continue to have customers. TERRIBLE!

They are running an illegal monopoly. They bought every single other weekly trash removal service in our area and own all the landfills. Now they can charge whatever they want, and there is nothing we can do about it.

Our trash and others on our road and adjacent roads have not been picked up in almost two weeks. No one on our road was notified that there would be no pick up. This isn't the first time Republic Services has done this and several neighbors I've spoken with have said they're looking for other options. There's just no excuse for this.

I did not have a choice to have this company since my trash service was already set up through my rental agency. However, since my home is the only one in this neighborhood that uses this service I have been often been overlooked and have been given excuses of why my trash has not been picked up. Most recently, my trash was not picked up on Monday which is my regular pickup day. I was told by customer service and was even sent a text message saying that I would have my trash picked up on Thursday since it was missed on Monday. Yet the local office called me to say that they would not be able to pick up my trash until the next Monday. Local office also claimed that the truck was in my area at 3 pm and their GPS shows proof on the day I was supposed to have had my trash picked up.
I had to let them know that I have cameras and I can definitely show my proof of my trash can on the curb and was put out as of Sunday night and the entire day of that Monday, so there’s absolutely no way I should have been missed. It is now Friday night at 7 pm and my trash can is still on the curb with trash in it. I had to ask my mom to take some trash to her house for me because my can is full. What a big inconvenience. I guess the local office was right about not coming until the following Monday which means my last trash pickup was before Christmas and you can imagine how much trash is in there!!!!!

A lot of money just to sign up with them. Only to get emails weekly stating service will be late again. Just canceled and they want to charge almost $90.00 to pick up the cans? They are your cans. It should be free. Price keeps increasing with no notice.

Worst trash company! They pick up one week and skip 3 and you call about missed pick up they come pick up just to skip 3 weeks again. Horrible company. I had to track down a truck just to get them to pick up my trash.

It is impossible to get them to get them to follow thru with any agreement and they routinely fail to pick up trash. They routinely buy out local competitors and force the customers to switch to them. They also claim that no matter what you are locked into a 3 year contract regardless of if there ever was a contract. Keep in mind they also refuse to send said contract to prove it exists because even if such imaginary document were to exist they doubtlessly have been not following it.

Have been with them for over 5 years for a commercial property. First 2 years around $130 a month then jumped to $180 a month for 2 years and this last year $260-350 per month. Now the last 3 months have been $426, $424 and $533.... They say it is new AI software that takes pictures and is charging for overages. I found out that it's 3 year contracts that autorenew and to cancel you can only cancel 60 days prior to the renewal date. Then they will have a bunch of fees to pick up.... I got a few other quotes for the same service for $140 per month. I will be canceling as soon as I get to the 60 days from my renewal. I don't care what it cost me. I do not want to do business with a company like this.... Shame on them.

Sorry company. They did not pick up anyone's trash yesterday on Monday. So now we have to wait until Thursday. Wow, this business sucks. They just pick up trash whenever they feel like it. My trash is so full and now we have to wait again.

When I enrolled with Republic, my bill was $75 quarterly. We didn’t get off on the best of terms because they were a week late delivering my receptacle thus getting paid for a week they didn’t pick up my trash. A refund was not allowed. I contemplated canceling but continued using their service. Now my bill is double what it was three years when I began… It’s almost $12 per week which is nonrefundable if they don’t pick up your trash. Most in my neighborhood have switched to a different service which I will likely also do but it’s upsetting that Republic charges such a ridiculous fee to pick up their receptacle. So glad I did not get two or three as I had originally planned to do.

I sent in a letter outlining my cancellation date for their service. I got a phone call from Republic telling me that I cannot cancel via written statement, that I had to call them. So I told her I wanted to cancel. She argued and argued with me then did not cancel me. Imagine when I got a phone call from Republic telling me I owed them money and was past due. I had Blackowiak, bought out by Randy's then bought out by Republic for my garbage service. I never signed a contract with any of these 3 companies, yet Republic kept telling me I was contractually obligated to pay for extra month and to remove Randy's bin. I dropped the bin off myself at a Republic location (even though I was told I HAD to pay them money I never signed up for to remove it themselves). I keep getting calls telling me I owe money. I do not. These people are just about as bad as Dishnet to get rid of. Garbagemen were great, company sucks.

I recently contacted Republic Services after noticing Another significant rate increase. The customer service rep I spoke with presented was rigid, and could not reasonably justify why my bill increased 30.00, quarterly, over the past year. It comes across as price gouging, and as some who's been a loyal customer throughout the years, can no longer tolerate a company that raises prices excessively. I am now in the process of exploring other options.

I would not recommend doing business with this company. We moved locations and gave them notice and was assured our container would be picked up and the account closed. 4 months later, they are still charging us the monthly fee, plus picking up even though we are no longer there and despite having talked with representatives that assured us the account would be closed. They are treating it like a mortgage contract that you have to go through hoops to get closed. It's insane. I do not recommend this company.

This is by far the worst waste service in West Michigan. Use Granger if you can. Unfortunately Sheridan, Michigan has a contract with this horrible company. So I don't have a choice. Do not recommend.

Worst company I’ve ever bought services from. Every year they raise prices and I have to threaten them and then they lower the price again. Finally got tired of the games and canceled. Now they are trying to charge me over 300.00 for breach of contract that they renewed on their own. Very dishonest way of doing business and trying to form a monopoly and putting others out of business. If you are looking for a good garbage company keep looking and find any other company that they haven’t put out of business.

So much wrong with this company! First I was told I would get billed quarterly which they did not...they took my garbage container a week after I hit 2 months with the company...they did credit me 20 credits for taking my container a month early...Just paid my next quarterly payment and was supposed to receive it the next pick up day and never received it...now I'm playing phone tag with the representatives. DO NOT go with this company if you can avoid it...try anything else but Republic Services.

I have been a loyal customer of Republic Services for over 19 years (this location 9 years and other state 10 years), as it is the only company serving my business location. I am deeply disappointed with how my recent cancellation request has been handled. My latest contract was signed in 2022, and I specifically requested a one-year term due to plans to sell my business. My efforts to cancel the service have been prolonged and stressful, stretching over four months. Though I was assured that the dumpster would be removed by 11/30/24 during a call in October, this did not happen, and I continue to receive bills. I was out of the country and unaware of these ongoing charges. My recent bill has more than doubled. This significant increase in my billing amount is unacceptable.
My recent interactions with manager, Diedre Fuller, have been particularly distressing. I was threatened with additional charges for early termination?? 36-month contract rollover from a 2019 agreement??? and experienced unprofessional behavior, including having the phone hung up on me. It is disappointing that such treatment is given to long-term customers. I am still waiting for a call from the manager to confirm the cancellation.
Additional: I already signed the business closure form and emailed the cancellation case on October 05, 2024. She mentioned that she couldn’t find any record of my cancellation. I then sent you an email with my case number and the details of my initial cancellation request, including a business closure letter that I signed through the link email. However, you keep insisting that I need to resign the letter because, I didn’t sign it. This situation feels like a scam, and I am quite frustrated with the constant back-and-forth. I want to reiterate that I definitely signed the closure letter. If your team cannot locate it, this is not my fault, and I find it unreasonable to be asked to wait an additional 60 days due to this oversight.

If I could give these vile poachers 0 stars, I would. Costs have steadily risen while quality of service has gone steadily downhill. Now they're telling me I need to shell out $30 to ditch them? You know, I can actually afford $30. It's the principle. I asked them how long I've been with them, and they told me since 1998. No doubt because they purchased other companies I was with in an effort to form a monopoly. Do yourself a favor, if you're an able bodied individual without a ton of trash/recyclables, see if you can drop it off at the local landfill on your own. That's what I'll be doing. I'm done with these poachers.

I had them servicing 2 addresses for me since 2016. Always issues picking up the trash on the scheduled bi weekly day. The last scheduled one was not done. And they never bother to tell us. So, I called. They said the driver needed the driveway to be salted and that they will pick it today. We still put salt down even though it's 53 degrees in Cleveland. They never showed up today. We called again. Now, they are saying it will be tomorrow! Knowing them tomorrow may never come. I am so sick of their customer service level. It's like they don't care.

Every quarter Rebuplic raised our bill significantly. They say they will reduce their rate if you want to cancel with them and go with a cheaper competitor, but the next quarter it is right back to where it started. Then when I called to cancel, they are charging $45 to come pick up the can. Absolutely greedy company. I would not trust them to do what's best for their customers.

Republic is charging me around $150 every month for res trash service. When I signed up for service (2 yr contract) it said my monthly est charges were $37.50. I would not have got the service had I known this huge difference in price. Who would agree to pay that much for trash service? **

Bought a house and signed up for their service. I was told this was the only service available. $50 to deliver containers and $130 to remove them a month later. Garbage is picked up at my location before 6 am (while I am working). If I put the trash out the night before it gets blown over. Costs $83 per month and I have spent countless hours playing phone tag on missed pickups, etc. Switch to the other provider for $33 a month. Should have done my research. They come late too.

Crazy long wait time to call about anything. Their website is also lacking any abilities except to pay your bill. Beware if you schedule a dumpster and they can't leave it in the place you planned you will be charged $200 for a dry run just for bringing the dumpster and taking it back to their facility. I was told that was in the fine print of the contract and nothing was attempted to lower the cost.

Cancel my services for no good reason, we paid our bill on time every time. They would skip a week here and there and let our trash build up. I been with this company over 10 years and they took my bin without even saying anything. I called them and they canceled my services.

Have had this service for 4 years. During that time, prices have doubled. Customer service is always kind, but their policies do not allow them to actually do anything to help. Finally canceled today and was told I'll be charged an exorbitant fee for cleaning the containers. Absolutely ridiculous pricing and taking advantage of customers who have no other options.

REPUBLIC PICKS OUR TRASH UP. ABOUT HALF THE TIME MAYBE 60 percent they always have an excuse. My trash is literally 2 foot off the white line, on main road, if a driver can’t see it, they shouldn’t be a driver. Need to be compensating people's bill. LAST WEEK THE WHOLE ONE SIDE OF THE KINGWOOD PIKE THEY LEFT. Now have double the trash and they’ll probably miss it again. Sad what we have to pay for to get screwed over 40 percent of the time. They should only be paid 60 percent for never doing a decent job. Guys that work on truck and drivers have always been really good guys. Call office and you're met with attitude AND RUDENESS TO PUT IT NICELY. Get the run around excuses probably just missed it or didn’t see it. They Left the whole one side of Kingwood Pike week after Thanksgiving. Nice. Going from Preston County down to Morgantown would be right side. Wouldn’t expect anymore when call. It’s a joke mostly.
Would give them negative stars if could. This is a constant persistent problem. And never gets fixed. Bill always same whether they decide to take it or not. How you gonna leave a whole side of the rd. 100s of people trash left and none will call because pain in the butt to get thru. Wife name on acct. I pay it but technically can’t even talk to someone to complain. DO BETTER. WAY BETTER.

I have had Republic for years and I couldn't switch due to no other options until recently. I'm now paying much less for the same service elsewhere. They regularly miss pick ups and when you call in they tell you there is nothing that they can do you have to wait until your next pick up. On the rare occasion they "say" they will actually do something they say they will put a note on your driver's records to escalate a pick up the next day, and they still do not show up until your next scheduled trash day. Customer service is extremely unhelpful and never credit your account. All of this chaos for rates to keep increasing. EXPENSIVE, UNRELIABLE, AND UNPROFESSIONAL.

Republic Services screwed me big time. I had my account set to Auto Pay (when I checked my account it had been set up already), they didn’t take out the last 4 MONTHS of payments and refused to pick up trash, so I had to pay a 4 month bill even though it was supposed to do everything automatically.

We live in a development in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland. The recyclables are to be picked up on Mondays. Monday 12/2- no pick-up and no notices or communications; Multiple calls from several people to customer service and we were told pick up would be on Tuesday 12/3. Tuesday 12/3; no pick up and no communications; Wednesday 12/4 customer service indicated it would be escalated internally and resolved and we would have pick up by end of day Wednesday. No pick up occurred. The exact same process Thursday-same result; Called again Friday am 12/ 6 and customer service promised pick up by end of day and offered no explanations etc.; It's now Saturday the 7th and still no pick up and no communications. Reprehensible. Absolutely inexcusable service. A disservice to the community.

Don’t have extra yard waste often. So I just found out they expect us to afford biodegradable giant bags for yard waste. So they are also causing excess yard waste to chill and be a fire hazard. They made it this way and our cost hasn’t gone down to be able to afford all the extra supplies THEY are telling us we have to use. Just take my green waste. Or lower cost so we can afford the supplies that are insisted on.

Please if there's another option let me know. I have had issues for roughly 1 full year total of the 5 years I've been a customer. They hardly keep schedule. They never keep appointments/drop off/pick up. They do not reimburse you. This is currently the only trash choice I know of considering Antioch's air/burn policy.

This company was fine when I lived at my former address. They basically picked up trash once a week with only a few misses per year. My problem with them is that they charge every 3 months even if you move out before the 3 months are up. In my case, I was 2 days into their 3 month billing cycle and we were charged for all 3 months. They insisted that I had to pay for the full 3 months even though I was only 2 days into that cycle and that was their policy.
With other utilities, you can cancel whatever day you tell them. I never hired Republic and was never told about the 3 month policy, St Louis County hired them for our subdivision! So I paid for the full 3 month bill even though were did not live there anymore. After 3 months had passed, I started getting calls everyday that I owed money for the next 3 months? (Remember I had cancelled my trash pick up 3 months ago on the phone.) Now I get calls everyday that I had not paid my bill and they were going to cancel my trash pick up? The company is Completely unorganized.

When I bought my house the Republic Service cans were already there (Blue and Green). Now that I have cancelled the service they are charging me $55 per can ($110) for the cans be removed from my property.. I did not have them delivered to my house, one of the previous owners did. The previous owner needs to pay this fee, not me. On top of all that, I should be reimbursed for all the days that garbage removal was cancelled over the years of service.

Republic Services is the absolute worst waste pickup service ever. Bring back Waste Management. Waste Management is cheaper and they don't pull fast ones on you. Recently they changed their bulk pickup policies to only pick up furniture without informing the customers about this change. So, your typical bulk pick up. They won't do.

I recently moved into a new home off Sunrise and Craycroft. Almost weekly these guys are late or simply don’t pick it up. It seems like a pretty easy job, drive a truck on designated route and pick up all the containers. Am I missing something? Why do we pay for such lousy service? We had Waste Management and they were terrific, wish we had a choice.

Our trash was scheduled to be picked up on a Monday. It was missed, though our neighbor's was picked up. We have called 6 times and have been assured that it would be picked up. It is now Friday, and the can is still on the curb. The call center has apparently contacted the local General Manager, but the local office has still failed to pick it up.

This is the worst garbage company that you possibly could deal with. They often miss your trash pick-ups, and they conveniently make it impossible to reach a live person. I pay for a service that they can't even honor. This company is "TRASH" in the literal sense. I would stay far away from this company. Does not even deserve a star. This company offers an annual cost for services, then claims that it is not an annual contract so that they can charge for "changes in rates" at their discretion. I was with this company for approximately eight years. Then last year I paid the annual premium, only to have an additional charge two months later and then an additional charge a month after that (Approximately $160). After contacting the Republic several times I was able to speak to a "manager" who agreed to credit me the additional charges. They never did. Then this year I paid the annual premium ($75 more than the previous year) in September and then received notice of an additional charge of $67 for December. When I went to cancel my "services", they informed me that I could not cancel until the end of the month and I would be charged until then.

I signed up on 11-5-2024, they took my deposit saying they will drop my container in the 12th. Never happened. When I call in I'm told it will be dropped off on the 14th although I made the call on the 15th. I was just told I will get the container on the 19th and if I have trash to leave the bags out for pick up?! Not doing that. I told them if I don't get the container on the 19th that I will cancel my account and ask for my deposit back. Such bad business...

They broke my bin and it took almost 3 years to finally get them to replace it. They often skipped my house in the past for no reason and this most recent time they said they would send someone out to collect and 3 days later, after multiple phone calls, my trash bins are still full and overflowing. Ended up having to walk my trash all the way down to the dumpster at the end of my street. If my city didn't force me to have these people I wouldn't have anything to do with them. They are awful!!

Just listened to my mom crying about how she got locked into a 3 year contract for her dumpster. The salesman told her that she could cancel any time. She went to cancel and was told that the only way for her to cancel is to pay the remaining 2 years. Absolutely ridiculous. Been trying for weeks to get a hold of someone who can help me cancel, but keep getting the run around. Can't believe that a company could be as cruel as this.

I would like to ask someone who knows how to solve this problem. I have a 3-year contract with the company, with 1 year left. I cannot cancel. The manager informed me that... I do not see where you called in on the 19th. I understand that you may want to cancel services, however, you are under a valid agreement. You will need to pay 6 months of invoicing, which is 1910.16 plus any outstanding billing which you do have outstanding charges on the account currently. Once the 1910.16 has been added to the account and paid. Removal of the container is scheduled. Container removal is your final invoice.

This is the worst company. Customer service is unexplainable and non-existent. They can't get anything done. I have ordered them to pick up old trash bins left by the old tenant. Weeks after weeks, call after call, nothing happened. WOW!

Found out I was paying double for my trash to be picked up than my neighbor. I was charged $135 per qtr for 1X per week trash removal and my neighbor pays $75/qtr for twoX per week same service. After calling Republic to have them try to rectify or keep me as a customer, the representative told me she could not even lower my rate $1 and then told me they will be charging me for an entire extra month that I do not need service and also a $45 pick up can fee!! Feel like I was taken advantage of for the past two years, not cool!!

This company absolutely sucks. They're always late. They never do what they say. Go somewhere else. They leave trash on street. Their drivers go way too fast. Their billing is always wrong. The people on the phone just could care less. They pay their people very poorly.

Horrific customer service. RS makes it almost impossible to cancel service. They create a loop of nonsensical “account management” communications that goes on for weeks in order to cancel service. They make it almost impossible to cancel service. They should be investigated and shut down!

I have called and called and called for two weeks straight and online request to pick up my yard waste and it still sits in my yard. This is happened before. They have never picked up my yard waste this whole year! Empty promises. It’s horrible! I should never have changed.

Updated on 12/15/2024: Issue was never resolved. They reply with apologies and advise to contact privately. But they don't keep up with the promise to solve the issue. This company is overpriced, with horrible service and customer service.
Original Review: Unfortunately, it became to be the worst waste services company in our area. We started with them few years ago. First, the price went up. But it was understandable. Then the service went down. Missed or delayed pick ups. No refund for missed week of pick up. This year the price went up again significantly. Now when we are switching to different company they are offering to go back to the price before second increase. When we refused to stay they stated that bin pick up fee would be $40 per container!!! $80 to pick up 2 containers!!! I can't recall for sure but there was a delivery fee as well. At that time it was around $30-$40 for both containers. It was acceptable, because we needed bins to be delivered. Now the company wants their bins back, BUT I have to pay the fee which is ridiculous!!!! Stay away from Republic Services!

We were just switched to Republic Services. They have only picked up our recycling 1 time in 4 wks. Several calls have been made with empty promises. They have not come to get it, but they sure do promise it going to happen every time I call.

I would like to start out with “I will never recommend Republic services”. Here’s what happened on Monday my official pick up day. My yard waste was not picked up, so I called and talked to the representative on the phone and let them know. She said that they were not able to resend a truck out, but I would be on the road for the next day to pick up. That never happened. So I called on Tuesday and got the same response response and then on Wednesday, same response and then Thursday, and that’s when I contacted. White Bear Lake Township and spoke to a very nice lady name Riley and she put in to Republic services a complaint for me. Now we’re at Friday and still no response from Republic services at all.
I have called over 14 times and spoke to someone different each time, this is what I call poor customer service! However, Riley from wiper Township explained to me that they were the only option that I had in my Bear Township because they have the contract! With that said still no word from republic services. Not from their corporate. Not from their local and certainly not from a street supervisor or supervisor Online, this shows exactly what Republic services thinks about me as a consumer. I sure hope that white Bear Township takes up the contract with someone else when it’s time to renew it.
Now the other part of the story is Riley from White Bear Township sent out one of her street supervisors to collect my yard waste. Yes, that’s right. Updated on 11/10/2024: Since my precious review was not published, I want to update the one-star review I gave Republic! This past week our garbage was not picked up on the appropriate day. The weather was fine, no discernible reason not to pick up our garbage. Called the next day and got the same horrible answers to WHY? I will not provide any positive reviews until we all get the service we pay for!!!!
Original Review: The service they provide is almost non-existent. We (our neighborhood) have complained and nothing is done about the so-called "service". They fail to pick up garbage and recycle frequently and then offer ridiculous excuses for their failure. Driver was on overtime so they sent him home; too windy, new driver-doesn't know the route, and many, many more!! And to top it all off-our bill goes up every 3 months! When I call, all I get are excuses. Then they say they will send us messages about delays and I have never received! Very, very poor service.

This service has more than doubled in the 3 years I've used them. There are often weeks that they don't pick up the trash at all. And they have removed double payments from my account on 3 occasions. I called them to discontinue my service a month prior to the next billing cycle. They removed the payment anyway. I called about it. They informed me that I would have to pay 62.00 to have trash can picked up and then the remainder would be refunded back to my card on October 15th, 2024. It's now the 25th and no return of funds. I call to ask where it is. They now tell me they'll have to send a request for refund in the mail. I'll have to fill it out and mail it back then wait 6-8 weeks for a paper check. Definitely not a service I would recommend.

Republic Services keeps raising rates. If you cancel services they back charge you $50 per container to come and pick up their empty containers. If you refuse to pay the back charge they threaten to put a lien against your property. They do not tell you about back charge when you first agree to use their services.

We were paying 371.50 per 3 months. When I called to complain they said I had to call before I received my bill. I was stuck with that for 3 more months. They offered to lower it after that. I'm now paying 114.00 every 3 months with a different company, but Republic is charging me 129.15 to pick up their cans. A total rip off for consumers.

This corporation bought out our previous trash service. It has been a continuous battle with them. The service was poor. Some weeks didn’t even pick up trash so we canceled our service in JUNE 2024…. No balance remaining and they continue to send bills. They charged me after I canceled and ended up sending me a check to reimburse us and just today, received a phone call from them and a new balance!! For what?? I am so frustrated and disappointed in the integrity of this company. Also, there is no way you can actually speak to someone who actually has the authority to close the account or do anything for your account. Ridiculous.

Two weeks in a row they did not pick up our trash. This last week I was outside and saw them get everyone on the block and then they just rode past our house. Then I had to call and sit on hold to be told oh they would come get it tomorrow. They charge too much for service like this.

My garbage service was bought out from one company and sold to this one. I applied with my county for senior service and my garbage service was no charge in my county. After this company bought the old company they sent men to my address to pick up my can. I explained to them I was a senior and had the senior services for the garage pickup. The man was smoking a cigarette standing on my property in front of my sign that says (no smoking). I pointed to the sign. He laughed and stomped his cigarette out in my driveway. I told him, "You get off my property. My garbage can has been taken." I spoke to the people at my county about this. All my information was turn in to the new company. They were supposed to do follow the same services for seniors as the previous company they bought out before them.

Republic has terrible customer service. If you get service prepare for chronic billing issues and customer service reps that NEVER fix the problem. In the beginning, the excuses I was given was because of "a change in our system". Be prepared for "system changes" as often as the average person changes underwear. Twice I was told "We apologize, we put your information in wrong. We have everything fixed now" when in fact they didn't. They will not correct their mistakes and will treat you as you are their problem. The amount of time I have spent on hold and dealing with people from this company trying to fix this issue is ridiculous. I requested a phone call back from a member of management to resolve the issues and no surprise a return call was never recieved. Avoid working with this company, it will cost you more than the service you will receive.

The company offered a 3 year contract with decent rates, which I signed. Within 10 months the fees increased by about 25%-30% and then another 25-30% the following year - at least 50% increase total in less than 2 years! I looked around and discovered that other companies servicing my area charge fees that are about half of what I was paying Republic Services. In addition, the other companies' annual increase is no more than 8-10%. Furthermore, the contract stated that any changes in fees, other than due to their increased cost, need to be accepted by both parties. I requested the termination of the contract and was threatened with early termination charge, with is the average fees for the remaining of the contract. I see that the company's ratings are extremely poor and I clearly see why. Stay away from signing any contract with them!! I would look for other companies in your area if you do have that option!!

Do not use this service. They price gouge like crazy. I started paying $65. Which is reasonable. They now want me to pay $100!! They are not getting my money. I only have one bin. This is not right and not fair. They will just make up an excuse saying fuel expenses went up. Well guess what Republic, prices went down. They haven’t gone up. It’s been the same!

My trash and recycling are scheduled to be picked up every other Thursday. Regrettably this isn’t happening. The last 4 months I’ve had to call and let them know either trash and or recycling has not been picked up. I’m told it will be picked up the next day. But it’s not picked up the next day or the day after. I call again. If I’m lucky it will be picked up after the second call. I’ve asked to have this turned into a complaint. I’m then told that “someone” will call me but no one ever does. I’ve suggested maybe change the day if it’s better for them. I don’t know what to do at this point. Customer service people are nice enough but I feel they don’t have the ability to solve the problem. I’m really frustrated at this point and looking to change to another business that can deliver the services I’m paying for.

Terrible customer service. Was told I had to keep service. Required by my county. Bill goes up constantly. You can never get anyone to answer phone. Look at all the 1 star reviews. Over 1400 one star reviews compared to 30+ 5 star reviews.

I do not recommended this trash service. Not only is the customer service absolutely horrible, they raise their rates all the time without even telling you. I’ve been trying to cancel with them for almost a month now. I am still going back and forth with different account managers every day. Something you think would be so simple to do is almost an impossible task. Go with someone else if you can.

Worst waste company, I called today to verify that they pick up yard waste today (which I already knew they did). They gave me a run around about it being waste from hurricane and they gave me the number to the county and said I need to call them, so basically I pay them and do their job, got it. If I could give them zero stars I would.

We are in a rural area. In past years our trash was picked up all year. Then a few years ago winter service was discontinued. I am trying to determine what the schedule is for this fall/winter. My calls are now always routed to the call center. They cannot give me an answer. I need to be able to speak to someone at my local office in Ronan Montana to see what service is available and what the cutoff date is this year, if any. It is incredibly frustrating to not be able to contact them or get an answer.

Fort Collins started all city-wide trash/recycle/yard waste on 10/1/24 with Republic Services. I am an existing Republic Services customer and have been since 9/1/24. Included with our trash services is the use of a yard waste can for an additional fee. Except for the fall, I have no use for a yard waste can as our yard has only trees.
On 8/21/24, I called Republic Services for a yard waste container to be delivered to our home on the next waste pick up date. I left a message stating my request, what I wanted, my delivery address, and that I was an existing customer. I received a VM from the next day, stating that they “were not taking orders for that until after the contract starts so If you want to give us a call that week of September 30, we can make sure to get you a yard trimming cart as part of the city contract”
On September 23rd I called Republic to request a container to be delivered on my next trash day which would have been Wednesday the 25th. I was assured that they would drop off on my next trash day. That did not happen, no container was delivered. I had wanted the container ASAP because we were having leaves start to fall, and I wanted to use the can and have it picked up on our next trash day, which would have been Wed Oct 2, after the contract with the City had taken place.
On Monday September 30th I called and spoke to someone and again requested yard waste can be delivered on my next pick-up day, which would have been Wed Oct 2. Again, I was told that one would be delivered. Again, no yard container was delivered. I called that afternoon and left a message. I called on Oct 3 and talked to someone who assured me that one would be delivered to our address on Oct 9, our next trash pick-up date.
In the meantime, I will have leaves dropping from our trees, which will force me to place them in the trash container going to the landfill, or let the leaves blow away with the wind. Neither is a good option. Keep in mind that after November 1, yard waste does not get picked up after November 1, so we have a limited amount of time to pick up our leaves. I don’t understand why Republic Services would not deliver the requested service as I was an existing customer. I also do not understand why after requesting twice they would not deliver the yard waste container

We were devastated by Hurricane Helene. The storm moved our dumpster 20 yards away and these greedy are charging me $267 to move it back after I've lost EVERYTHING. Profiting off of hurricane victims is reprehensible beyond words.

They tried to double my bill, which I took exception to, and called around to get quotes from other companies. I found a company that would charge less than my original bill. So I called Republic back to give them the option to price match and they refused. So I told them to cancel our service, they then said I had to pay them to pick up their container. I told them they could either pick it up for no cost or I’d keep the container. They picked it up and are still trying to charge me, and have since sent my account to a collection agency. Avoid this soulless company.

I do not recommend this service. I usually pay thru my city but needed an extra bin. The 50-dollar deposit paid my bill for 4 months and I no longer needed it. I called to have it picked back up and they charged me 44 dollars for a pickup fee. This company did not charge a fee to drop me a bin and never informed me of a pickup fee when done. She gave me 50 percent credit when I complained but any amount is paramount to highway robbery. Do not use this service outside of city paid because they are scandalous with back-end charges.

They missed picking up our trash for the 3rd time in the last month. I call them daily to request a pick up and told it’s scheduled and they have till 5 to pick it up..But they never do. They just wait until the next week until the next schedule leaving us with 2 whole weeks' worth of trash and leaving our trash bins outside until they decide to pick it up. Such a hassle and there is no accountability on their end…This is after they just increased our fees to $90+…Not sure if there is any other options for my community/city to get our trashed picked-up.

I have been trying for several weeks now to get the extra recycle bin removed. I also had my middle sized cart replaced because it was broken. No issues there. But when they did the replacement carts they stole my medium sized cart and left me with a tiny trash cart. Week after week I am calling them to get my right size cart back and my extra recycle bin taken away. Week after week told to leave my carts out. And no trash in it. I have sat every weekend with trash in my kitchen because I have nowhere to put trash. I get told they only do cart pick up on Saturdays. (Depends on who you talk to.) Every week it's the same thing. NO cart replacement. I was also told last week they would be out in 24 hs. Never happened.
Called Monday last week and told again they would pick up Friday. And surprise I still have the same carts. Sitting at the end of a cul-de-sac. Oh and every week since I have to leave recycle bin out. They empty an empty can. And the last few weeks it looks like a tornado came through our neighborhood. The cans knocked over or lids all flipped out instead of in. So if it rains or snows yours are going to be full of water. Enough already! I am tired of calling and getting the same response. I want my extra cart picked up and removed and my regular trash can delivered today! Enough excuses. Time to call BBB? I wrote the City and got a answer saying to contact Republic. So the City obviously is more concerned about the cut they are getting then dealing with who they hired. So who are we suppose to complain to?
I am sure my neighbors who are right next door are not happy dealing with the carts just sitting there. Our driveways are very close. I keep getting told this will be taken care of and different reasons and apologies. But no one is taking care of this issue. I will be calling yet again for the 6th time today. They keep blaming the rude 3rd party who is suppose to be doing pickup. That's another huge issue. Rude guy stole my can and would not take the 2nd recycle bin. Told me to call Republics. NOT his problem. I have photos of every week carts still sitting in street. But my outdated MacBook won't let me post them.

We’ve been with Republic Services, zip 33844, since 2016. Our HOA has control of renewing our contract, so far they just sign with Republic Services without consulting any of our community. Our rates for trash/recycling, have risen much more than the rates charged by Polk Co Waste Management, our current yearly rate is, $420, Polk Co Waste Management, $206.
Our Community has a 3-year contract until March 2025. I was able to get our contract from an HOA board member, it states that our bill is to increase 5% max for each of the 3 years. We had no increases for the first two years, this year our rates went up over 15%! Communication with Republic Services is challenging, to use their website to find resolution is to go in loops to pages with a 404 error, to call is to get a very nice person who doesn’t know who to direct your call, after a few tries I finally felt I had gotten to the right person, a woman promised to rely the message and have the man call, he never did.
I’m checking with every waste management company that serves Polk could but, fl to get a better deal. So far the results have been good. The HOA had the Rep from Republic Blue come to our Community to answer questions, I couldn’t attend, so he was given my phone number. He called me, was very cocky, put down every other hauler and said, “You’ll get nothing better!”. He said we should be lucky that we only got 15% because we had no rate increases the first 2 years of the contract! I told him we have people in our Park that have openly admitted they haven’t paid a garbage bill for two years, some more years than that, yet their garbage is paid picked up every week.
I asked what he would do about that, he said “It happens”, the driver can’t stop to check each address. I said, "You could get out community map and someone in your office could check the addresses and resolve this issue in 2 weeks max", no response. I was very happy with Republic in the first years we had them, because we had yard refuse pick up along with garbage a recycling. Then yard refuse was dropped. Then service has been so rushed that garbage is often dropped on the road, glass dropped in front of driveways, garbage cans knocked over. If I could get anyone to communicate with me or find an address where I could write to Republic, I would have done it instead of writing here.

They skipped our recycling pickup for more than a month and then left a rude note saying we were picked up last week. They have been rude and ignoring our can for weeks when all of our neighbors were picked up. We called and they claimed we weren't on their pickup list as well before they left the note. I have only spoken to one kind worker. I do not understand why this has become an issue when we have lived here for months and never had an issue with pickup until recently. It is very frustrating and disappointing to be talked to like this when we have been patient.

For the nth time, my waste bin was not picked up this week. I called every day this week to report the missed pickup, was told they will be picked up by end of day, but it never happened. Now, my waste bin is so dirty and smelly I've already requested a replacement. But I'm not sure if I'll used them again if they keep missing it, I wouldn't want something that dirty even in my garage.

I will never recommend this refuse service to anyone. They haven’t picked up my recycling in over a month & keep ignoring my can. I have called FIVE times to reschedule a pick up and every time I’m assured someone will either call me back or my recycling can will be picked up. Does your customer service center even call the trucks? Or are your teams incapable of their jobs due to your poor training?

Since the start of my service my bill has slowly creeped up to twice the initial cost over a 4 year period, go to cancel and get told there is a trash can pickup fee. I can't see ANY other providers in the area that do something like this. Just completely awful practices and a perfect example of a big company taking advantage of the consumer. Based on reviews here that go back a decade this has been happening since then. I'll be switching to another provider, I'm one of the few on my street that use Republic and it's pretty clear why now...

The driver leaves our can in the middle of the road. I have called and told them and they say... well he can put it back with the car parked there. I seriously don't understand this mentality. Because there is a whole driveway there where he can put the container back off the road. I approached the driver and he belligerent got pissed off at me for questioning why he leaves the can in the middle of the road. When I called customer support they didn't want to hear about it and were very dismissive.

This company is very aggressive with their billing they will keep raising rates until you cry stop. And then they will send you to their PR expert to try to smooth things over and still, they will continue to raise rates. Not by a little bit to keep pace with inflation but by huge amounts.

Beware, Republic does not state the additional fees they charge on their contracts. They now use AI photo generated reports and if the lid is slightly lifted or not closed automatic fee is charged to the client with no explanation. The sales people do not state this nor does their contracts but good luck getting out of it. Absolutely terrible to work with once you are signed up. Fee after fee every week!

I would recommend that this company be avoided at all costs. They rarely picked up my recycling and trash. Missed pick up reports went ignored. I would speak to customer service and they would promise to correct the problem and credit my account which never happened. The cost went up every time I got a bill. I was paying for services that rarely were provided and kept getting charged more. I changed to a local company at a fraction of the cost and haven't had a single issue so far. Cancelling my service and getting my refund issued was a whole other challenge. Would give no stars if possible.

I had Republic Trash Service for about 10 years. My bill has gone up every quarter with no explanation. The last bill was for almost $600. When I called to cancel, they charged me $74 just to come and pick up their bin. Canceled my service and they still charged me for 3 months. I deleted my bank info and somehow it still got charged. Called and asked about it. Was told to call back in a month to see if I will get a refund after the pick up fee and other fees. I was pissed and was told nothing they can do about it for a month. The new company I have is half the cost of Republic. Wish I could give them a zero.

Republic Services is a typical monopoly. I abhor their poorly designed and barely functional payment portal/ web site. Complaints about this go in one ear and out the other. It's been down for two days now. How is this even tolerated? I'll tell you how... No competition - no impetus to do better.

Know that Republic Services contract is for 3 years and renews automatically every three years if you do not stop it. If you try to cancel services for what ever reason (even moving) you will have to pay early cancellation fees (mine was $190 being 2 years into contract) and then if a two month notice was not provided, you have to pay for two more months! This is what you call ENTRAPMENT. Look for another trash service or take your trash to the garbage disposal sites yourself like we did when I was younger.

This is the worst trash service I've ever had. They raised their rates $36 in 2 years for no good reason. The bill listed cost of gas and other items but that is their problem to figure out, not the consumer. Plus, you always know when they've been in your neighborhood because there is trash blowing around everywhere. They never get out to clean up any of the mess they make. Ozark Refuse on the other hand is awesome. Same price at $60 every three months, never changes. Plus they have a person who rides on the back helping load the trash can and ensuring no messes are made in the first place.

This is the most frustrating, unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. They raise your bill without notice. They don't pick up your trash when they are supposed to but, they charge you anyway. When you call about a missed pick up they make excuses and tell you when it will be picked up. However, it isn't picked up until your next scheduled pick up (if you're lucky.) When you cancel your service they charge you $25 to pick up a dumpster that belongs to them. I said I wouldn't pay that. I said it belongs to them and they can either come get it or I'd keep it. They agreed to waive the fee. Then they charged me anyway. When I called to report that the fee had been waived they said the request had been denied. They told me that if I didn't pay it they would turn me over to a collection agency.

We've had service for over 20 years, their pick up service is 90% on time, customer service is so so, online service except submit payment all others are almost no response. Last year I experienced a Seasonal Hold request successfully submitted online but still had to pay for nothing, because they told me no Seasonal Hold request on my account, and they didn't accept the screenshot confirmation.
This year I have a similar issue. When I requested a Seasonal Hold, I was told longer than 8 weeks require the account to be closed, when I need the service I have to call to reopen. And then I called to reopen on 8/2, but has been billed from 6/6. I made many calls, online chats and submitted online request billing adjustments, but was denied due to the Seasonal Hold time frame limit reached which nobody told me before. If I know that, I can restart the service one week and then place another Seasonal Hold again, but they only told me when I need the service I have to call to reopen my account, they misled me and denied my billing adjustment request, I'm being trapped.

I was a customer for over 20 years. I guess I was just too lazy to switch. I never had an issue with Tracy pickup but EVERYTIME I needed to call the company, it was painful. When I terminated my service, they charge me touch up the containers…and failed to pick them up on the two days we agreed upon….they are still on the street and my HOA isn’t happy. I’m going with another company who answers the phone, keeps appointments, and is much less expensive.

We've had service for over 20 yrs and we like their service very much, but for yrs the drivers drive over our yard about 7 times a yr and it rains a lot in Western WA so the truck tires are huge, heavy and the ruts are very deep and we'd have to fix the yard, but we never complained until this yr 2024. So recently they sent a letter to 7 of us owners on our street that's a dead end that we had to now drag all our trash cans (some of our homes 500 ft by our mailboxes down the street and some of us are retirees 50 - 80 yrs old) all because I complaint about the drivers 2 times in 20 yrs. Which makes me feel like I can't complain, and our neighbors are being treated badly for not my fault but for drivers you don't want to drive slowly on the neighborhood so they can make sure they stay in the other side a little bit so they won't go on our property and that makes me feel like we're not important.

I would give 0 stars if possible, despite multiple attempts to have someone call and resolve our issues with our yard waste not being picked up. I want the whole company to be shut down they have horrible reviews and a trail of complaints, I don't understand how they are still in business.

Billing is very aggressive. We missed two weeks of putting out trash due to hospital stay. Service rep stated they do not do refunds, you are billed quarterly. No matter how many or few pick ups you have. You will literally pay them for doing nothing. Fuel surcharge gets bigger every month. Was a customer for years, very disappointed. Do not recommend. Would give zero stars for customer service.

I would give Republic not one star! I asked one of the employees when they came to pick up the trash today in my community if they would take my old mattress that is on my porch and he said yes. He was very nice. Then the driver got out of the truck and said no. I pay yearly $576 for trash service. I’m a disabled senior (68) living alone and can’t take the mattress to a disposal place because I don’t have a truck, don’t have the strength and have problems walking due to diabetes. The employee driver of the truck that told me “No” wasn’t polite. I pay a lot of money for trash pick up!! Teach your employees to talk to a customer in a polite manner and to remember we the clients pay for the service, it’s not free!

I disconnected service on August 5th but they said I did not. Also sent letter to state I would like to disconnect. Received statement for July 31st, August 20th for 50.00$ so 3 pick ups for a 60 gallon trash can that was only there maybe once or twice. It's 95.00 3 months. So how is it 50$ for 3 weeks.

Horrible wait times, both by phone and chat. For 26 years, all Friday pickup’s following a Monday holiday were automatically picked up Saturday, logically. I never got a message by email, text, or call. Was changed back to Friday, so missed my pickup. I called last week, and today, horrible wait times due to “temporarily high call volume”, which has been the same all year. I tried chat, announcements of temporary slow or no connection issues since last week. I cooked breakfast while waiting, ate, cleaned the kitchen, while on wait. Then I disconnected from frustration, again.
Months ago I tried to leave a compliment on my two drivers, never could reach a person. To add to this, when you first call, it says press 1 for English. We are in America, why do I need to press anything for English? What do we pay for besides pickup? I can’t say if the representatives are friendly or helpful, because I can never reach one. Hire more employees to take care of customers, or borrow some from other departments to take care of high call volumes? I called the White House last week, got almost instant customer service.

They damaged my new parking lot!! Made the call on the date of the damage and received a REF # **. Nothing but dead air since. Have reached out to the local reps as well as the leadership with photos license plate and vehicle information on multiple occasions... No response... What's more telling is that when I sent the original e-mail to the company's leadership and requested a delivery receipt it came back successful but on additional attempts, it bounced. How telling based on the reviews I have read. Glad I'm not a client.

Would rate it lower if I could. Been having problems for a while now. My trash can has been taking and thrown away twice. On the second time we didn't get a new one for 4 weeks. They also don't take trashes that have the lid propped up a little. Saw a bunch of houses with their garbage gone but all the ones with the lid propped up a little they are all still full of trash. Not impressed.

I initiated the process to terminate my service by sending an email request, after which I was asked to submit a formal cancellation letter. After doing so, I received an automated response stating that my account manager would contact me within 48 business hours, but I have yet to hear back. Since then, I have repeatedly called customer service to inquire when my account manager would reach out, and each time, I was told they would call within 48 hours—yet this has never occurred.
Today, I asked customer service if there was a way to terminate the service without needing a final call from the account manager. Unfortunately, I was informed that only the account manager can close the account, but no one can provide me with their contact information, leaving me unable to reach them directly. The termination process has been unnecessarily complicated and should be much simpler, clearer, and more efficient. I have filed a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs in the hope that it will expedite the termination of my account.

Terrible, spotty service, trash men destroyed my first trash can and they washed to charge me for a replacement. Called a dozen times for missed pickups and partial pick ups. Canceled the service and now they want to charge me more to retrieve my cans $45. Go anywhere else with your trash service.

They will not let me cancel service on the 3rd. You have to pay out the entire month. They charge $41.00 to pick up their container. I am saving $100.00 every 3 months switching to another company. I do not recommend.

Updated on 11/12/2024: We are very thankful that what we have asked for has been happening for the past two weeks. Trash has not been full throughout the week and dumpster is put back where employees can easily dump their own trash without getting it all over property.
Original review: We have been unsuccessful in order to get drivers to put dumpster back where it belongs for over 2 years now. The company has been called about this over & over. Because of drivers our employees are unable to dump their barrels w/o missing. It makes my employer property look trashy, There have been many times where this dumpster doesn’t get picked up, but yet the other on same property gets dumped.

ZERO STARS! This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They were supposed to pick up a recycling can from the previous owner and picked up my solid waste can also. They refused to give me a full refund of my $56 that they charged for a whole quarter in advance. Instead they are only giving me $27 back and I only received two garbage pick ups. How does that compute? These people lied to me several times telling me they were dropping off a can and did not do it. I do not recommend this company at all!

Now I know the reason why organized crime was/is in waste removal - it is an extortion racket. After moving from the house, they take over 3 weeks to remove bins and charge over $100 per bin to remove them. After 15 years of service, this should illegal. NEVER do business with them!

We have a mass collection space on the corner of our property. The employees apparently get peeved and full stuff on our property… and apparently think that we can sense what the issue is through osmosis or telepathy. We’ve tried repeatedly to identify what the issue is and find a solution to no avail. Whatever the issue is, dumping crap on our property and driving away isn’t doing anything more than making them a nuisance.
Don’t dump crap on people’s property seems pretty easy to avoid, yet there is no evidence that this company intends to issue that guidance or in any way enforce it. We have had threatened them with small claims for removal fees and even that has merely slowed down the behavior. What a service! Random passive aggressive littering? Just awesome.

Updated on 10/06/2024: After posting this review, Republic Services agreed to cancel our trash collection service. It is worth noting that the drivers are great employees. If there were delays on the route, or if we were skipped by mistake, the drivers always came back the following day. During my last conversation with Republic Services, I recommended they eliminate contracts altogether, or to at least shorten the term to 6-months. It may help improve their reputation and they might have happy customers.
Original Review: We have been Republic Services customers for 3+ years, but we strongly recommend not doing business with them. We feel their contract legal language and business practices are deceitful and misleading. In May 2021, we were locked into a 36-month contract for residential trash collection. We didn't realize we were under a contract with outrageous terms as we had no reason to be suspicious of a residential trash collection company. We would have never signed a contract if we knew it included the following-
*The inability to cancel trash collection service before the end of a 36-month term without paying a $1,400 penalty*Monthly rates that increase in any amount, at any time, without notice
*A contract that automatically renews itself for 36-months if a cancellation notice is not given at least 60 days before the end of the 36-month term
For the past four months we believed we were on a month-to-month service plan (which is a common business practice with the other local trash collection providers in Wyoming), as we have not signed a new contract. We recently found a local trash service provider with lower prices, and we asked Republic to cancel our service. Republic's response was that we needed to sign an updated contract with them. We refused to sign a new contract as we preferred to cancel, and we were told that regardless of whether we sign, we are already under a new 36-month contract with them, with no locked in monthly rate, as it auto-renewed in May of this year.
I spoke at great length with our account manager, asking her to cancel our service and she told me there is nothing she can do. I explained to her that their business practices are unethical, deceitful and potentially illegal, and she again told me there is nothing she can do. I spoke to Customer Service and Escalations and they both told me that there is nothing they can do.
Shortly after those phone calls, I received a letter from Republic reminding me that if I choose to cancel my service, I will be billed $1,400+ for liquidated damages. I immediately called our attorney and filed a formal complaint with the Wyoming Attorney General's Office. Due to Republic's poor treatment of their customers, they have a horrible reputation in Wyoming.

Well, my review is exactly like the last one on August 23rd. We called well over a week in advance to order a roll-off in order to finish moving. We had paid the 500.00 advanced charge and were told it would be dropped off that following Friday the 23rd of August. We live an hour away up in Musselshell so on our way heading down to meet the crew we hired to help us with the move and dumping of trash we received a voicemail while we were on the road that they were dropping the roll-off on the following Monday.
Now by this time their offices are closed and we can't reach anyone. We had to pay for the crew since we couldn't cancel at the last minute with them. The landlord was not happy since Monday was our final day to be out. We had to leave a voicemail with someone at Republic hoping someone would reach back out. Finally we did receive a call from the original agent trying to work on this for us, who stated how apologetic she was and that it would be delivered Monday the 26th.
As I sit here writing this here we are still waiting for a confirmation as to whether the roll-off has even been delivered to the location an hours drive away. No one answers their phones there. Absolutely no word! So here we are once again at their mercy and our landlord isn't real happy. This is the absolute worst service! The right hand has absolutely no clue what the left hand is doing with this company. This is most likely extremely poor management from the top. Horrible service!!!! Inexcusable.

Republic Trash is the service used by my large apartment complex in Aurora CO. The company’s color of their trucks is blue and their symbol is similar to the recycling symbol… Obviously done to make consumers think they are a “green” company. They have 4 dumpsters in our trash area, one of which is blue and has their symbol, but people confuse this as an actual recycling bin and it does not get used. No signs on any of the bins as to what should go in! At the end of the enclosed area are 2 small green bins but in small letters on the lids say, “Recycling.” Three families out of 6 buildings even use these. Republic picks up electronics, TONS of plastic and cardboard, puts it all in their deceiving blue trucks and takes it all to the landfill! More than half the trash they collect is either recycling or compost! They are not helping to reduce, reuse, recycle or compost anything! These blue trucks show painted black!

I ordered a 40-yard dumpster to clear out furniture and clothing from my property, but it arrived late, leaving my workers idle and still charging me. After countless frustrating calls, the wrong dumpster was delivered a few days later—a 10-yard one for construction cement, costing me $1,100! After many, many calls and being put on hold forever. They want me to pay an additional $1,100 for the correct 40-yard dumpster next week. They refused to correct their mistake and charged me more. This entire experience has been a nightmare, wasting my time and money due to their incompetence. This company’s monopoly allows them to treat customers with blatant disregard. I refuse to pay for their mistake and urge everyone to avoid this company at all costs. Their service is disgraceful, and they will exploit you for their own errors. Stay away!

Apart from terrible trash service, the fees that are mentioned in numerous reviews are absolutely real. They charge a retaliation fee for canceling service in the form of “pickup fee” which is not mentioned in any communications prior to. It’s wrong, and most likely illegal, but no one has pushed back hard enough. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT SIGN UP FOR SERVICE FROM THIS COMPANY.

The worst prices around. Hidden and expensive fees to cancel. Charges made after cancellation even when it was before the billing cycle. Avoid unless you like paying about $30 more per quarter and getting random charges after the fact. I'm so glad I shopped around and found a better deal.

I don't believe my expectations are too high. I expect that once a week my garbage is picked up. I completely understand that there are environmental factors that may cause delays, but it has been almost 1 year since my garbage was picked up on time. Approximately once a month I have to call the customer service line and report a missed pickup. It is often days later or sometimes they just don't come for that week. As I read through the other reviews it is evident that this is a problem everywhere. Out of 1,518 reviews 85% of them are 1 star. I’m sure that more customers would complain but they’ve given up! This shows this is a systemic problem with your company. Not only are you unreliable but you don’t respond well to complaints about service.
Trash day is scheduled for Wednesday. Sometimes, our street is skipped with no communication, other times only I or one of my neighbors is skipped. When I call customer service, I am told to leave the trash out and it will be picked up in 24 hours. Since when is 24 hours the weekend or the next week? Company customer service is a joke. If you manage to get a customer service representative you can actually understand, you can expect to be told whatever it takes for them to get you off the phone. Why hire reps that can't speak English well? Several calls, same result. A big FAIL!!
Missed pickup on a Monday, called, promised pickup within 24 hrs, called every day, now it's Saturday and the trash is still waiting to be picked up. I complained to the township supervisor's office about this and have been told that they are aware of the problem and working with Republic Services to correct the problem. Unfortunately I don’t have the option to use another company. If I could give them zero stars, I would. Stay away from using this company!!

My pick up is Wednesday. I got missed. I called into customer service, they scheduled a pick up the next day. They still had not picked it up by 3 on Thursday so I called in again and was told it would be picked up by 6. Did not get picked up so I called in Friday (today) and was told the driver rescheduled it for today. Well, here it is 6 pm and still no pickup. I paid for their services and have no service. I would call this fraud. They keep raising their prices and their service is bad!

I wouldn’t refer this company to anyone. It’s like the insurance companies you pay but never have a car accidents every day or even every month. Likewise you pay for services but have continuous missed picked up or you can never stop oil from spilling from one end of the street to another because of their quote on quote “economic safe trucks.” I’ve spoken to David then Corey. Magically I was advised Blake ** call me. Never heard from him. If Blake ** is the boss who’s his boss? There’s somebody over him. When I finish with Republic Services waste management owes me a lifetime supply of free trash because I will get enough signatures Vanderburgh County residents and Warrick County to petition to have this company removed from the city contract. Republic Services is a price gouging company. Was happy when my pickup service and pricing was through BSS. I canceled my service, after a month went by I got another bill. So I called and ask why I had another invoice and why my trash cans hadn’t been picked up. I was told the $76.00 was a charge to pick up the trash cans. I told her I wasn’t going to pay the fee, she said everyone gets the same charge who cancels. She said that she would put that in my notes. Well my credit card got charged without my permission and the freaking cans are still here!!! Buyer Beware of this company!

I live in a 8 unit townhome. How is it that every single week there is a missed pickup? This is beyond ridiculous. Several people call every week with either no response or several days to respond. One person was even told on one occasion that we didn't have an account with them. Seriously bad customer service.

Republic Services is absolutely the worse refuse service I have ever used. First, they kept raising my rates even though my neighbors' remained the same. Eventually, I was paying $100 more per quarter than my immediate neighbors for the same service. The real kick in the stomach is they had the audacity to charge me $158.00 for them to pick up THEIR OWN PROPERTY. I was told I could save the money if I could somehow stuff three large cans in my car and deliver THEIR PROPERTY back to them. That should be a standard cost of business not separately billed to the customer. They claim it's to cover fuel and personnel cost. When the truck arrived it had many other cans loaded up. Most likely from the same neignborhood. Do the math: $158.00 x 20 = $3160.00. Surely doesn't cost that much to pick up and deliver cans to the same neighborhood.

I need a one time dumpster for property and household clean up. I paid the drop off 3 days before they dropped it off. I paid for pickup the day they picked it up, now they are claiming I owe them 900 and something dollars. I don't owe them ANYTHING!!! Their customer service is foreigners who barely speak English and hang up on you for no good reason, I was told by one person the bill was sent in error and not to worry about it, and now they are threatening to send it to collections without providing a bill or receipts of previous payments!!! And above all else did 200 dollars in damage to my driveway!!!

This company is absolutely ridiculous and ignorant! We put a dog bed in the recycle bin, the service provider came and pulled it out of the can and just left it laying on the ground. My wife called and asked why they did that and they stated that it wasn't recycle material, and that we will have to put it back into the bin and it will be picked up next week. My concern is why would you pull it out when you looked inside and identified it as a dog bed or a huge pillow, instead of just leaving it alone. After speaking to a "supervisor" he's just saying it's not recycle goods, my question wasn't addressed nor were any answers were provided as to why they would pull it out.

I'm sharing a story about the worst cancelation process ever. 4 years ago my local affordable trash service was bought out by Republic. Since then my bill has gone 150%. Yes 4 years... Calling and canceling Republic came with a better offer but not guaranteed. So being in billing cycle I was forced to pay full bill and I'm dropping my container off to save extra charge of pickup... Glad I'll be done with these people for good. Beware any new customers, 1 star equals zero stars from this guy...

We get our trash picked up every Thursday. August 1, 2024 the truck that needs to pick up our yard waste failed to do so as well as other houses on our street. (SCORE B-). I called customer service and i was told that they would send out a truck the same day. Never happened (SCORE C-). I was also told that if they could not pick up today, they would send out a truck Monday, August 5. This never happened. (SCORE D-)

I am giving a one star because I cannot give 0 as a star. We have used Republic Waste for over 10 years and had no problem. This past Monday (8-5-24) they picked my garbage and yard waste. Yard waste fell from the container and a mess was left in the street and my driveway. The yard waste container only partially emptied. Republic sent another truck the following day and it was still not fully emptied. Then Republic Service blames the homeowner that there was something stuck in the garbage container. I just got fed up dealing with them and emptied the container by turning it over and all contents slid out with ease. I am in the process of finding another garbage company. I have a difficult time as a loyal, paying customer and to receive zero accountability from the company. Awful customer service.

I called and emailed my termination of services in May. Contract was up in July and I paid through July. I spoke to 3 different people and they still won’t cancel my services. Seems my notice wasn’t 60 days before it renewed. Cancellation was due to continued price increases. Service was good. Pricing and cancellation poor.

I was a customer for over 20 years and decided to cancel my service. I called two weeks before the last pick up and was told the container would not be picked up until the next month. On March 11th the trash was picked up and we took the container directly to the transfer station and paid with a check for the services that we had already received. They kept sending me a bill for the remainder of the month we did not receive service for. Now they turned me into collections for the 2 pickups that we did not get. I have called several times and each time I am on hold for over a half an hour. This company has terrible customer service, and they are crooks for charging for services that I did not get. Republic Service was supposed to pick up our garbage last Wednesday. I called them Wednesday before the truck even left our neighborhood because they failed to take the entire can only the garbage that sat on top. The driver was in a real hurry and didn’t bother to shake the can. They told me they would be out on Thursday to pick up the remainder of the can. When I called Thursday to find out why they hadn’t come they told me that someone in Republic service canceled the pick up. I asked them to call back and let me know why but they failed to do that. I called again on Friday and they failed to pick up on Friday, so it’s apparent that they have no intention of picking up the trash and I have absolutely no recourse. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They have absolutely zero respect for their customers, and their customers service is nonexistent. Nothing but lip service.

Republic Services sent a text stating trash pickup will be delayed one day. Guess I'm the only one that received the message, trash was picked up anyway. No one can tell me who sent the text message. So now I have to wait until Monday and that's if they even pick up will probably have to wait until Thursday. Nothing but lies from everyone I spoke with. All they could say was "Sorry" and that's exactly what they all are...sorry liars. They don't deserve one star!

This company is notorious for price gouging, poor quality service with garbage left at the site and damages to enclosures around the dumpster, poor customer service and contracts with auto renewal and no notification. Steer clear of Republic Services. They are the absolute worst garbage/trash removal service.

Run, don't walk. RUN away from Republic Services. Their prices are egregious in comparison to other providers. They continuously raise prices, often quarterly. When I inquired they told me and I quote, "fuel prices are up so it is what it is". Guess what? Fuel prices went down and they still continued to raise my bill. At the end of my time with them, I was paying almost $1600 a year for weekly trash and yard waste service. It's my fault for not canceling a long, long time ago. For reference this is more than 20 times what I am paying now, FOR THE SAME SERVICE with a different provider. Oh, and the kicker? They charged me $133 to remove two bins when I canceled. Just think about that. I am sure as people realize this, many more reports/complaints will be filed with the BBB. At this point, it's abusing consumers.

We are using a 2 yard dumpster from Republic and have been since 2014. Their prices skyrocketed and I tried to cancel. They said we agreed to a 3 year contract that is up in December 2024, and they provided a document with a fake electronic signature. We have documentation that we didn't want the extension, even though they tried to bully us into signing in 2021. We said we will not sign anything. And now they produce a contract with a signature made, not through docusign, but with a handwriting font. This is an unscrupulous company and you will be on the hook for years beyond what you agree to. I would give them a zero but you can't.

I would give zero stars if it let me. I have not once signed any contract or had any service through this company. I was not informed of them buying out WM, but when I received a “renewal letter” I called them the same day telling them to come get my Waste Management cans as I will be declining to use their services. This is a WEEK before my renewal date to “switch” to them. That SAME DAY I started services through a different company and sat my WM cans out front to be picked up. Today a representative from Republic left me a voicemail threatening to send me to collections if I don’t pay them over $100 for services I never used and a contract I never had with them! But by the looks of these reviews, I am not the only one.

Liars with no integrity. I worked with Thomas **. Do not trust him. This is his exact email: "The same pricing for either size dumpster (10yd, 20yd, 30yd, 40yd). See pricing below: 117.22 delivery 165.01 haul charge 183.71 disposal per charge 5.00 rental per day. Prepayment: 600.00". Well, It is not $183.71 disposal per charge, it is per ton. I learned this when I got a $2k surprise bill. I had even called billing many times before our pick up to confirm pricing before we had another dump and delivery, and they were very vague on pricing and their CS team has no idea how pricing works. I should have known then this company is terrible and mismanaged after that first call and should have checked reviews before contracting with them. Do not work with them. They lack all business ethics.

Today June 30th 2024 we had a couple medium sized boxes that wouldn’t fit into our small garbage can so we put them next to it. This usually isn’t a problem and we pay the extra charge. Today the driver looked at the boxes lazily and left them there and drove off. Also my son has been having problems with them for two years neglecting to pick up his garbage and overbilling him anyway. If you have a choice I’d recommend a reputable company. Barron, WI sadly they’re all we have available.

Called Republic Services about a missed trash pickup. Was told they would pick up the next day (Thursday). Called Friday morning to complain because the trash was not picked up. The customer service representative was nice and reassured me that they would have someone out that day to pick up. Friday came and went, Republic Services did not pick up. This has happened before in the past.

When we used Diggins for trash pickup, we rarely had any issues. Customer service was great, and pickup was always on the scheduled day. Then, Republic bought Diggins, and we've had issues every month. Sometimes I get a text saying, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, your trash pickup will be delayed by one day." Sometimes, our street is skipped with no communication. It just happened again, and when I called, I was told if it's not picked up today, it will be picked up in 3 days. Garbage sitting out for 4 extra days in 105° heat is unacceptable!! I wish Diggins was never sold. It's so expensive to switch trash services with all of the extra fees, we are stuck with Republic. If you are thinking of choosing them for the first time, DON'T!!

AVOID REPUBLIC. Poor customer service and reliability. We started their service in 2005, and recently things changed and we no longer need their service. There have been annoyances like missed pick-ups this past year, over multiple weeks. We called on July 25th to cancel and we were told we would have to pay 11 months to cancel. We were told we had "agreed" to a 12 month contract. It turns out we made 2 mistakes, 19 years ago we turned on "auto-renew" and after so long we forgot and thought we were on a pay as we go basis. Another mistake was turning on "auto-pay". So on July 6th, 2024 a new annual contract began, and to end service Republic requires another 11 months of pay, even after the previous 19 YEARS of payment. Look for a service provider that rewards loyal customers and doesn't try to play games using devious business practices that get hidden over many years.

I paid fifty bucks at the end of June to start my service, was told my cans would be here 7/5 and pick up would be 7/8. My garbage cans never came and nor did they pick my garbage up. Called them and was told there was a shortage on cans but they would pick up my garbage on Friday, Friday comes and no pick up, I call and was told they would come back out. They never came back, gave them till the following Monday and still no pick up, called to cancel and was again told they would pick up on Friday well of course that never happened. On the 17th I called again and said to def cancel it and was told I'd get a refund at the end of the month but mind you it took five minutes for them to take it out of my account, yesterday I get a bill for 118.00 for service I never got.
I called today to see what the heck is going on and they tell me it's pending cancel and was told that means it won't cancel till the 31st and they're not sure if they will send a check or put it back on my card. What the hell kind of service is this, they should be shut down, why do I have to wait till the 31st? I called Evergreen monday to start service with them, was told my can and pick up would be the next day and guess what it was and that's good business. Don't make the mistake of signing up for Republic, they SUCK!!!!

I don't believe my expectations are crazy. I expect that once a week my garbage is picked up. I completely understand that there are environmental factors that may cause delays, but it has been almost 2 months since my garbage was picked up on time. Each week we have to call the customer service line and ask for a late pick up. It is often days later or sometimes they just don't come for that week. As I read through the other reviews it is evident that this is a problem everywhere. Out of 1493 reviews 85% of them are 1 star.
Republic Service, this shows this is a systemic problem with your company. Not only are you unreliable, but you are more expensive than most and once we have had enough, you want to charge us a fee to cancel. You routinely increase the prices with no warning, which makes budgeting challenging. Why do I have to pay to cancel when the reason I'm cancelling is because you won't hold up your part of the contract. This should be considered a breach of contract and all fees should be waived. Do better.

Republic Services has been nothing but a money guzzler company. They keep raising their charges, adding additional fees. I have recycling cart service added to my bill which I wanted to remove and they refuse to remove the service citing that it's mandatory from Warren county after few minutes of back and forth arguments and stating the fact it's NOT mandatory in warren county, Rep I was talking to, said. "Oh my bad it's mandatory from Republic services." They refuse to remove the recycling service and raise my bill from $185.48 quarterly to $223.34. Increase of $39.86.

Full disclosure. I give them One star because it wouldn’t let me put no stars. I ordered up a 20 yard dumpster just needed it for the weekend. They charged me about $500 to do this. I thought it was a bit pricey, but they assured me it would be there when I needed it to be there. Fine. One month later I get a bill for an additional $193 after I was assured that the $500 charge was going to be it. These people are scam artists I fought with them for a while on hold for hours and they said if I didn’t pay, I would go to collections over $200 after being scammed out of $500. Do not I repeat do not rent from Republic services.

My frustration with Republic Services is that they come pick up the trash shortly after 5:30 AM. My neighborhood is formed by steep, single lane streets and the truck goes up and down several times to collect all the garbage from adjacent homes. My bedroom window is facing those lanes and the beeping noise and the roaring of the engine noise inevitably wakes us up and keeps us awake as this goes on for 20+ minutes. I called several times to ask for a slightly later pickup time, and they ignored me. I'm feeling frustrated.

So when I started with Republic my bill was about $60. It has gone up to $215. I decided to shop around and found a new services for $74. When I called to cancel my Republic account I was met with frustration. The woman asked me who I was going with and before I could tell her she named the company, so clearly she knows people are switching. She then told me she could get my bill down to $90. I asked her if she could do that why is it up to $215. She said they don't do it for everyone but if I was having trouble paying that she could do this for me and it would start with my next bill. I declined. I asked her to end it after the first week of July because I had not gotten my new totes yet and she told me she already canceled it and it would cost me a restart fee to have it picked up one more time. She then told me I would have to pay $68 to have the tote removed.
I told her I have been renting the tote and paying all these years. I am not paying to have it picked up, it belongs to them so either pick it up or don't. She was adamant that I was going to have to pay this and that another company picks up the totes. I again told her I would not be paying that and that I have my initial contract and it doesn't have anything in it regarding that. She then hung up on me. I received a bill in the mail this weekend that has PAST DUE printed in the payment due date box. This is the first I have received as I just ended the service the end of June.
The bill is for 76.79 and the itemizing doesn't make any sense as it has 43.56 for container removal and a $5 late fee. I will not be paying this. I will be posting online about this, letting all the people in my area know of the new service I am with, and turning them into BBB. I will not be paying this bill and if they turn me into collections and try to hurt my credit I will provide the credit bureaus with the invoice and the contract showing container removal was never a billable service agreed to.

The worst waste removal company. They are subcontracted by the city of Round Rock in Texas. They have failed to pickup multiple times using the excuse of not having the trash cans positioned correctly on the curb. However, when confronted with proof that the trash cans were placed correctly, they still don't come back to pick up. Terrible customer support on the phone too.

Ever since Republic Services has bought Benfield Sanitation in Statesville NC I may have my trash picked up once a month. I pay on time and I call and complain and they finally send driver back to the whole road 1 week later to pick up garbage that should have been picked up the previous week.

Yup. It trash day in Cedar Creek Athens GA. Trash bins in the road, like Olympic Slalom. Our Trash Bin was literally in the middle of the road and our recycling bin was in the neighbor's yard and they don't use Republic.

Our weekly brush pickup day is Monday before 6pm. Well this past Monday we put 2 small piles and our recycling container and branches that we tied with rope to the curb. Just about 5:55 the truck came by, gentleman got out threw the brush from the recycling container in his truck walked back to the rope tied brush looked around and got back in his truck and left without taking the pile. I was walking out and was about 30ft from the truck, he looked at me and kept going - I was going to help him since I drag it to the road MYSELF! I called Tuesday morning, Wednesday morning and both times they assured me someone would be out that day. We take pride in keeping our yard nice and now the grass I’m sure is dead underneath. Please help me figure this out.

This has to be the worse company! I do not recommend at all. I’ve lived in my home for 5 years, made every payment on time and the bulk pick up service has never been accurate and has never picked up my bulk. I just found out today that my schedule is every 4th Wednesday when online says a completely different schedule. I’ve had to haul my bulk trash myself every month! When I spoke to a rep, she was no help as well! This has been a horrible experience!!

If I could have given 0 stars, I would have. This company bought out a local garbage company and the service went downhill quickly. They missed several pick up days. When I canceled service, they charged me $36 to come and get the can. If you have alternate trash companies to choose from, please do so.

I would not recommend to anybody. Not only does our recycling not get picked up half the time with absolutely no communication or notes on my account, but now my garbage bin was taken and the customer services woman made it sound like there was absolutely no way any employee would throw the bin in the truck out of spite purely because “they would get in trouble and because supervisors review the video and send an email saying things are all good at the end of the day” she said she received the email.
And I asked her if she thought that everyone did in fact do their jobs to 100% what they were supposed to, like maybe if it’s possible that a garbage men out of spite threw it in there, and maybe has a supervisor friend or maybe even an already lazy supervisor who doesn’t review the footage of trucks as well as needed just to get work done sooner? Again, she made it sound like this could not be the case and wasn’t possible. My reasoning for why I think it was put in the truck out of spite is because they had to come out for a re-pick up because they had “missed” my house and had no notes on why. And when they had to come up everything had to be grabbed with their hands and not grabbed by the huge claw like other trucks. My garbage bin was there before the re-pick up and wasn’t there after the fact.
She asked if maybe one of my neighbors stole it, all of them had all their newer not broken bins on the street to be taken to. So why would they? And because they never did their job in the first place of switching out our old waste management bin to their republic services one when my town did the city waste switch from companies, it’s technically a “personal” bin and they can do anything about it. If it would have been replaced in the first place there would have been something they can do but because it wasn’t, because THEY didn’t do their job, we need to get a new one? I even asked if there was any way to get the footage re-reviewed from on the truck and get a reply back about things being okay and them seeing my bin get put back on the curb, and she said “there would be no point”.
The POINT would be to see if they intentionally threw my bin away and get this solved. I know they threw my bin away out of spite. And now are too cheap to replace it. And has crappy customer service who believe no employee can do anything wrong and that no employee would do something out of spite and not report it to not get in trouble. Because that was the other thing. She said there was no note on the account of the bin “falling in the truck”, duh! They aren’t going to put a note on anything if they threw it in there. Anyways, rant over. Just don’t use them. Ridiculously ignorant and unhelpful customer service.

Something you might want to consider before doing business with Republic Services. After being a customer from 2008 until present, I was surprised to discover that I would be charged a trash can removal fee of ($30.00). I was not made aware of that back in 2008 when I started my service with them. They also wanted to charge me a ($5.00) late fee since their system showed an invoice for the next billing cycle (they bill in advance 3 month worth). I had cancelled my service prior to the first of July which is when the billing cycle started. I cancelled the month prior in June.
Then they also wanted to charge for a gas fee and environmental surcharge. My exiting total came to $47.08 to cancel my service with them. (The gouge on the way out.) I disputed the late fee as I had cancelled service before the start of the new cycle. They removed that fee. I still don't understand why I'm being charge an environmental fee for them to recover their trash can. SO in total I was made to pay $42.08 because I wanted to cancel my service with them. That is my only gripe with them. The service provided was good and the Driver they had on our route was topnotch. Their pricing was no longer competitive and they were unwilling to match their competitors, which is why I parted ways with them. There seemed to be billing increases routinely. Would I utilize them again? I would have to say no, but not because of the service provided by the driver, who as I said was outstanding.

Republic Services has the absolute worst service! If I hadn't just paid them $50 to start my service, I would change over, and it hasn't even been a month. I had a problem with my first statement and so I called. I waited over 40 minutes to speak with someone, who then transferred me and I had to wait on hold again. The second person I spoke with, Angie, was incredibly rude and she sold me a very different story than the first person I spoke with. They started charging me on 6/11, but that is not actually the first day of pickup. Angie said, "That's normal. You start paying before we pick up your garbage." What???? Then what am I paying for if it's not my garbage to be picked up?
After several minutes on the phone Angie agreed to credit me for that week, $1.43. Because Angie told me that is how much I am charged per week for pickup. So I pay $150 a quarter, but one week is $1.43. I realize there are taxes and fees, but that's a little crazy. But no one was going to win an argument with Angie, she was trained well! I don't know how companies like this can stay in business when they treat their customers this way. I would never recommend Republic Services for garbage-stay away!!

I don't know what's the deal with this company. You cannot trust them to pick up the trash. No wonder neighbors keep moving to other companies instead. Their solution when your trash is not picked this week? Wait until the next week for them to show up, are you kidding me?

I started this service June 26th, 2024. I didn't receive my trash barrel until two days after it was due to be delivered. I had to call and notify them that the barrel wasn't dropped off. Then it's July 12th, 2024, and I have called multiple times, and each person promises a pickup that day by 6:30 pm but no one ever came. The trash is still at my curb as I'm writing this review. This is highly unprofessional. You guys are taking people's hard-earned money in the assurance the trash service will be provided. But when it comes time for you to provide the service that was paid for, all you offer is "I'm sorry for the inconvenience, Mama." If my trash isn't picked up by 6:30pm today I'm cancelling my service and going with another trash service.

Company customer service is a joke. If you manage to get a customer service representative you can actually understand, you can expect to be told whatever it takes for them to get off the phone. Why hire reps that can't speak? Missed pickup on a Monday, called, promised pickup within 48 hrs, called everyday, now it's Friday and nothing. Several calls, same result. A big FAIL

I’ve had Republic Services for the past 6+ years. They have significantly raised my rates and all of my neighbors pay less than half of what I pay for the same service. They say there is nothing they can do about it because it is the “market rate” seems like a scam to me.

Customer for 8 years or so since Republic Services bought out local Waste Solutions Boston MA area. Always pay on time. Every 3 months or so I get a 30 per cent increase in billing. This has been going on for years. My rep will tell me that it is automatic. If this happens again, I will terminate service.

These guys really sucked, I moved to Fremont from San Jose and the services are really poor in Fremont. Customer support is horrible, I am not sure why City of Fremont is engaged with such low quality garbage collector.

I am writing this review as I sit on hold - ten minutes and counting. We "started" service two weeks ago, but have yet to receive a garbage or recycle container. There is no one to talk to. The online customer portal doesn't give you the option to ask for status - or to see when (or if) garbage containers are scheduled to be delivered. Nothing. Meanwhile I am getting account updates as if they are charging us for service - service that isn't being performed.

We have had Wallace disposal for years until Republic took over. The service is absolutely horrible!!! We live in a different state most of the year and still pay all year around. When we are in town we usually only use one trash can. However, there has been occasion where we have put 2 cans out. They refuse to take the second can.

Have subscribed and pay extra for yard waste pick up. Normal trash collection is Monday and yard waste is scheduled for Wednesdays. This past Wednesday, 7/3/24, yard waste container was placed where it should for collection and it was not picked up. After multiple calls to customer support line, we were promised it would be picked up Friday, July 5th because of the holiday…understandable. Friday morning it still hadn’t been picked up and customer service assured us it would be picked up by 6:30 pm on Friday. It’s now Saturday morning, July 6th and container is still at curb full and untouched. What a joke, Republic! I want my $80 back if this is how you treat your customers.

Would not recommend Republic at all. Trucks didn't show up numerous times across multiple months, many times leaving us with trash piling up for multiple weeks. We had called and reported missed pick-ups multiple times and they still didn't come even then. The manager called and confirmed the driver had not been coming to our address at all because he "didn't know" he had to go down that street. It was $150 for the first 3 months of service and I can count one hand how many times they actually showed up. I asked for a credit as I feel our money was wasted after all the hassle. Was then told I should have reported the missed pick-ups which I did every single time. They said they saw some missed pickups but couldn't credit because they eventually serviced us. I will be canceling our account. Look elsewhere.

This company is one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever dealt with. They do not keep their word on pick up dates and times. They change prices continually with no explanation and no warning. Their customer service representatives do not listen, they are rude, uninformed on current contracts and do not communicate with other representatives. If you have any other options to use a different company, choose any company other than Republic.

I was Contacted by a GM and the bins were delivered within a few hours. He said he would co contact the customer service department and have them issue credits for the service and bins not received.

I ordered new residential trash and recycling service to receive 2 - 96 gal carts on 6/17/24. I received only one really banged up, partial broken rigged up, bin that is not labeled as to whether it is trash or recycling and the bin is all the same color with a random company name on it, not Republic Services like all other bins in my neighborhood.
I have been in contact with so many customer service people now my case has been "escalated" at least 3 times. It took until 6/24 just to hear from someone that it was escalated to. Only to have him tell me he would be sending out two brand new bins the next day. One trash one recycling the next day and that was a week ago. I still have not received anything. I called customer service again last week on Thursday and they placed a new order for two new bins to be received Monday July 1st and those never came either.
I truly don't understand why it is so difficult to receive trash and recycling bins and service when I only have maybe three options of services in this area. I just left Waste Management due to pick up service issues and then I run into this with Republic Services. So not only do I need to receive my Republic Services bins but I also need credit for the now into 3 weeks of service that I have not received because I don't even have the correct bins and I have no idea what the bin is that I initially got and nobody in customer service can tell me what it is either.. Avoid using Republic if you can.

I've been a customer of Republic Services for years, but my recent experience has been incredibly frustrating. Without any notice, my bill skyrocketed by $41 in just one month, jumping from $96 to $141. I usually use bill pay, so I didn't catch the extra charge last month. It was only when I finally glanced at my bill this month that I noticed the absurd increase. When I called to inquire about the steep hike, the representative gave me a vague explanation about vendors charging more. She then magically managed to lower my bill to $108, without any clear explanation of what she actually adjusted or removed to reach that number.
Frankly, I'm deeply disappointed. As a loyal customer, I expect better treatment than having my rates raised out of nowhere. If it takes me catching the overcharge for Republic Services to suddenly offer a lower rate, it makes me question their loyalty to customers who have been with them for years. Perhaps it's time to explore other trash services that actually value customer loyalty.

Since the beginning of 2024, our street has been missed five times for either trash, recycle, (one time both…) Or bulk. I fill out the app to say missed pick up and typically they are there on Monday or Tuesday to get it because we have Saturday pick up. This past Saturday, June 22… Our neighborhood did not get our bulk pick up. I completed the form as normal Saturday night. Apparently it didn’t go through. On Monday I completed it again. On Tuesday I called. They assured me someone was picking it up by Tuesday at 6 pm - no pick up. I phoned again Wednesday and was again told it would be picked up by 6 pm. No pick up. I went to Twitter… X… And did a direct message.
It was escalated and upon calling on Thursday, I was told it would be picked up. The gal also indicated there was a comment that the allegedly truck broke down on Tuesday and then there were four letters for an abbreviation which she did not know what that meant. I’m guessing it’s some kind of internal code that is not appropriate but regardless… The bulk was not picked up by Thursday night. I received a message from X today (Friday) indicating it would be picked up by end of day. It has not been picked up.
We have no option other than Republic Services here in Las Vegas. They are a monopoly. Their flagrant abuse of that situation and lack of any customer service whatsoever… With the exception that the people you call are amazing… Shows that the city of Las Vegas/Clark county needs to figure out a new service. We pay for this and the rates have gone up and the service has gone absolutely downhill. One week later and my bulk has not been picked up. I I would have pulled it back into the garage, but I’ve been told five times it would be picked up. Is that acceptable? I would be fired if I didn’t do MY job But apparently, apparently when you’re the only game in town, you aren’t held accountable. I miss my old state/city with Waste Management. They were impeccable and cared.

Scheduled a pickup and paid for a pickup of a bulk item. We explained what the item was and we were told they would come the next day between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. No one ever came to pick up the item but our credit card sure was charged. I had to leave the item out on the curb all weekend thinking that maybe there were just a day late and deal with my HOA being very upset with me. I received no phone calls, no emails. Nothing to explain to me the situation of maybe why they were late or why they didn't pick it up. Still have the item. Still don't have my money back.

Absolute sham of a company. Small businesses BEWARE, they try to stay out of sight and mind by auto renewing contracts without any confirmation or request. They will also increase your rate within the contract.

I called today because I am selling my warehouse and getting rid of the dumpster so one of your bright employees calls me back drilling me about who the new owner is contact info and I said I don’t have it then she ask when am I closing and I said, "None of your business. I don’t have to give out that info to come pick up my dumpster tomorrow" so she hangs up on me and I call back and nothing, no resolution. Is that how you guys handle things? Don’t like it that I’m closing the account out and you want to keep screwing me over because I did look back at all the invoices and the charges are all over the place and pretty sure this is fraud. My trash started out at $79 a month with contract and some months $240 others $180 just whatever you guys feel like charging me that month.
This is scary and this is some mobster tactics you guys are trying and I see many lawsuits filed which you will have another tomorrow and by the way if my dumpster is not off my property this week I will personally deliver it to the address located in Savannah, GA and will bring a news reporter to film it. You guys are crooks and criminals.

We have used Republic Services for 10 years. The bill we received last week was for $509. A 25% increase. As 2 seniors living solely on social security, we could not afford this. We researched and found much more affordable options. Yesterday we called Republic to cancel service. When asked why, we were offered a discount of $125. We explained that we found much cheaper options and we are on a fixed income. They are now charging us $94 to pick up the cans.

TERRIBLE. We pay for trash pickup twice a week in the mobile home community we live in and no one showed up last week or today so it has been over a week that our garbage has been sitting in the 110+ weather. We can’t fit anything more in our can. We are a 55+ community and Republic doesn’t seem to care that many of our residents are unable to keep dragging their full cans back up the driveway when they don’t show up. These aren’t isolated cases, we have gone without trash pick up many times over the last few years without explanation and without reimbursement for the days they no-showed. One driver was caught sleeping in his truck one day. The company has lied to our management office saying “they were just there!” when asked about why they didn’t show up.
I have spent hours on the phone as a resident with them trying to just get a reason why this is happening and they won’t answer me. I have requested that they contact me if my trash won’t be picked up that day or will be delayed by a day so I can let my neighbors know. They have yet to contact me about that but I did start receiving a copy of the bill for the community I live in which is a HUGE mistake. I let them know about it and the person on the phone seemed extremely alarmed by this but I keep getting copied on the bill. Hopefully we’re getting a new company to do our trash collection, I don’t know what our management company has decided but they are as tired of this as we are.

I had service with a local company, for 30 years, Republic bought them out last year, now the price on last invoice went up a dollar a week, I called and cancelled now they want $37.50 to come and pick up container, they won't let me take it to local office, and waive the fee, They are charging me $37.50 to pick up a 30 year old worn out trash can, I'm going to pay it but it will be the last cent they will ever get out of me,.

I ordered a dumpster for a house remodel from Republic. The dumpster was delivered fine, but the problem they have is their computer systems and customer service. I received a quote from them, but the priced I received was more than the quote. They will just transfer you between customer service and sales and no one has the authority to resolve the concern. Their website does not show accurate information and does not match the invoices they send.

Signed up with this company 3 weeks ago…Paid deposit, and no service. Called every day, promised by the end of the day, and nothing. Just got a bill for 3 weeks of service…Are you kidding? Lousy service (actually no service) and lazy drivers. They miss about half of our neighbors as well. Go elsewhere if you want garbage service.

What a joke of a company this is! My family had paid for three months garbage pick up in advance, but then the company changed some of their policies regarding pick up and having to use special cans, so we cancelled almost immediately and went to another service. We were told we would get a $180.72 refund check in the mail within a few weeks, it's been almost a month and still no refund check!! In this day and age why aren't you refunding people electronically?? Did you send the check by Pony Express by chance? We've been on the phone at least five times trying to get our refund. What an absolute joke to be waiting this long for so much money that my family desperately needs! Shameful company.

Horrible company! Do not do business with them! Our trash company was purchased by Republic and somehow you just automatically have to agree to their cancellation terms without signing any documentation. So if you want to cancel with the company, you have to pay their cancellation fees That is 100 percent illegal. This place should be investigated.

Although I’ve been paying for services with Republic Services for years, I can’t seem to get a bulk pick up yet. After call in numerous times to get one table picked up my table still sits out at the street. Shame on Republic Services.

For many years, I have been forced to have Republic Services service my trash bins for apartments in the City of Los Angeles, and it keeps getting worse. The bad part about it is that I don't have a choice! For now I am stuck with poor service and service fees that increase substantially every January 1 like clockwork. They just added a new tiny green can for $111 per month and have pick that up only when I call and complain. I used to have control over who I paid to service my bins and if that was the case today, Republic Services would be fired immediately. But since I know they can't be fired for drivers constantly missing pick ups and poor customer service, they ignore my complaints and no changes are made.
A city inspector told me I need to take a picture of the overflowing bin with a time stamp the day before pick up, and take another picture the day after the RS pick-up is scheduled, then report it to the City! He was serious too! I call the City of LA and they document my concerns and reach out to RS, but nothing changes. I have called Republic's area manager and they don't do anything. Nobody cares about customer service anymore. Back when I had control over who I hired, I didn't have these problems. I guess having a lame Mayor doesn't help either.

If I could leave less than one star I would... Consistent late pick-ups, doesn't empty entire can frequently...sloppy! AND the customer service is terrible with a website that just runs you in circles and a terrible phone service. Avoid this company if you can.

If I could give a big fat 0 I would. Never follows through. Always just drops cans and they bust. Never grabs bulk pickup. They have promised me a call back 3 different times within 24hrs and nothing in 2 weeks. This company is nothing but slobs.

Billing person Danielle was very rude. When I called up she just interrupted me and said, "What is your name?" in a very rude tone. I asked her to explain the charges of my bill and she was not very helpful. We had recently signed up for service in Columbus Ohio and were told by the rep to try 2 cubic feet and then they can swap out to 6 cubic feet. We were never told that there is almost a $400 charge. When I called up Daniele was rude and not willing to even talk about the charge when I was never informed.
